Starting point is 00:00:00 Investor's Edge with Gary Coltbaum. Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Coltbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host. A thanks of being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening.
Starting point is 00:00:19 It's the 14th of October. It's 2026. And we hope you are listening. Just so you know, we're not George Soros. We're not Ray Dalio. We're not Stanley Drucken Miller. But we have a pretty keen eye for things. Nothing's ever 100%.
Starting point is 00:00:45 But we live by a couple of rules in the markets. By the way, we'll do introductions in a minute. And the first and foremost is never lose big. And number two, O'Neill, William O'Neill, add a little, I used to hog his time at the seminars he used to do. I asked him like, what are the three most important parts of the equation for markets? And the first thing he said surprised me. He didn't talk about making money.
Starting point is 00:01:16 He talked about if you are one of the very, very, very, very, very few that can identify identify bare markets and tops and downtrends and trouble. And I'm paraphrasing, but pretty sure all these words came out. You are one one thousandths of the population. And I promise myself one of the things I am going to make sure that I do. And an extension for you. what to avoid. Most importantly, where does trouble lie?
Starting point is 00:02:07 And every now and then the why. And of course, it's all based on a specific roadmap of what bullish markets and bearish markets look like. It's all a specific roadmap of things topping. It's all a specific roadmap of cause and effect. It's all a specific roadmap of 1 plus 1 equals 2. It's all a specific roadmap of not predicting but staying in gear. and it's all about a roadmap of history. So in case you don't know, this is Investors' Edge,
Starting point is 00:03:05 serious talk on everything that affects you. We'll do the market, the economy, your job, your industry. The more locks in D.C., more BS out of this administration today, the scams and shams and debt and deficits and all that crap. And a question. Is the artificial intelligence bubble? Well, is it a bubble? And if it's a bubble, is it popping?
Starting point is 00:03:40 How about that for a question today? Oh, I forgot it's super intelligence. Because if I don't say super intelligence, President Donald Trump says I'm the enemy. Don't you love that? And if you do not get this radio show in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com. We'll also post it on our X feed.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And if you don't follow us on X, you should. No, you should. And if you'd like to email us, just be nice and respectful. We'll be nice and respectful back as long as you know. You didn't rob a bank today. You didn't beat anybody up. You don't profess that you love Hamas. You're not a terrorist.
Starting point is 00:04:20 You get that. So let me start out by saying, we here, for quite a while have been mentioning core weave symbol CRWV as a poster child along with Oracle
Starting point is 00:04:43 less Oracle on their numbers more on their debt but CoreWeave on their numbers and their debt and recently we have gotten a little louder about it and louder. And I just want to let you know today, everybody else is talking about it.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Record. One of the other things I have been taught when it comes to massive debt for companies or whatever, the bond market will tell you more than the stock market or sometimes in unison. Here you have core weave bonds yielding now 15% as they drop like a rock and the stock today drops even worse. Today core weave is down another 16%, 12 dollars and 50 cents. It is at $65. dollars and as you know we have highlighted this baby topped out right after the IPO a few weeks after the IPO with the highs of 187 and it's been highly touted to you I hear it and we have
Starting point is 00:06:29 advised you that some of the things that have come out on core we by the way the CEO came out said it's all nonsense while they've been selling a croplode of insider stock. Corweave has a negative $64 billion of free cash flow over the next two years while currently having $30 billion of debt, and now their yields are at 15%. The market doesn't believe a word they're saying. And we already know about Oracle going from $3.45 to where is that it right now? 130 Oracle today.
Starting point is 00:07:14 But that's just a little tip of the iceberg today. You see, yields open very poorly today. They were big. But at the close, yields finished down today, and you would think that would help the NASDAQ and NASDAQ 100. The NASDAQ's down 570, and the NASDAQ 100's down 6704. as I speak at around 317 p.m. The Dow, which was down a bunch more, is only down 153 because it's in recognition of the yields reversing. And I mean a big reversal. And that's good news. That's really good
Starting point is 00:07:57 news. The 10-year yield today right at the open hit. And by the way, this may not sound like a lot, but it hit 5.329. It's now 5.190. That's a big drop. So maybe into the clothes that's going to help the Dow types. Oh, it ain't helping tech, artificial superintelligence, don't want to be the enemy, and semiconductors with the socks is down 548. And as you know, we've been hiding out in the big indices.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Going to be tough after today. And by the way, also, think about this. The Dow is down three-tenths of a percent. The S&P is down 1.4%. Why would that be? Because of the major influence in technology. The S&P down 1.3% versus three-tenths. and what I'm going to do for the rest of this show
Starting point is 00:09:13 is tell you what's happening and tell you where things are but first let me let you know in no particular order they're coming after the good software names today some of the names that broke out like Palo Alto Network above 400 it's down 21 to 376 a snow fillate broke above 350 it's 335 net today is down 7% I can go on but just letting you know that's an area that's been a port in the storm for technology
Starting point is 00:09:47 they're coming after them today whatever that means don't know just letting you know they're coming after them today i wanted to start with the software next what have i told you the leading names are just relative strength not opinion dell got a downgrade today down 66 bucks is I speak to 506. Dell, quite a top today, looks like. What's the other one?
Starting point is 00:10:23 Kind of AI-ish, light. Down 85 today to 900. You feeling me? Up next, we'll do the rest. This is the one only Investors Edge. Hi, I'm Gary Kalbaum, hosted a nationally syndicated radio show Investors Edge.

Starting point is 00:12:11 Hey, this promises to be fun. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. So as I was saying, simple LITEs down 86 today, just a very rough day. The artificial intelligence trade really troublesome, rallied up for a little bit, like 10 days, and it's just crumbling now. And what I want to do with you to make sure you know, because I don't think, how do I put this?
Starting point is 00:12:59 You know, I watch. I watch. I don't think that there has been enough talk about how the artificial or the superintelligence trade has just absolutely crumbled. So I'm going to do a little exercise with you for a few minutes if you don't mind. And I'm going to do it in no particular order.
Starting point is 00:13:25 but I started with Corweave. By the way, as I do the show, it's 323, the Dow is rallying because how bonds finished, and they're trying to bounce the NASDAQ and NASDAQ 100. The Dow is only down 112, but the NASDAQ 511 and the NASDAQ 100, 600. Amazing. So let's do this. Jable Circuit hit a high of 429, it's 293.
Starting point is 00:13:59 We already did core weave. We already did core weave, and that's only, and by the way, these numbers are real. 187 to 66. Coreweave. And I'm trying to do names that you know, but a lot of these are, AI related. How about Celestica, which is down $31 today? Celestica. And again, these are all in that realm of what they tell us as artificial intelligence. That's gone from 474 to 326. How about coherent? That's an important name, right? That's gone from 440 to 264. How about Sienna?
Starting point is 00:15:00 That's another one, right? That's gone from 637 to 358. We're just doing this to let you know this. There's been a hell of a lot of damage. And I don't think there's enough reporting on it because I think a lot of them are neck deep. How about Bloom Energy, which has been one of the real stronger names, 351 to 239? How about this NBIS?
Starting point is 00:15:32 Nebius, it's from the Netherlands. How about 300 to 184? You catch in my drift? And then there are, how about the fix? I've been talking about this fix for a while. Do you know fix, which tried rallying up recently, simple f ix that baby has gone from 20074 to 1540 but then you get into some of these names you've heard about a lot
Starting point is 00:16:09 and by the way we're not taking away from some of these that have made big moves we're talking about what's happened sand this 2354 to 1415 how about that about see gate you've heard of that one right that's gone from 1145 to 719 are you hearing the 30 40 and 50% drops as I do this by the way 30 40 50 60 60 there's some 70% drops how about Western Digital that goes along with Seagate, right? Well, Western Digital has gone from 800 to 365. My abacus says that's more than a 50% drop. Micron. Got to do the micron because that was holding up. Do you know micron right now, as I speak, is down another 30 to 922? 922. It hit 1255. That's not as big. That's not as
Starting point is 00:17:31 Not even close to bad. How about semiconductors? Highly touted. Semiconductors. How about symbol A-E-I-S? 400 to 261. How about A-X-T-I? Maybe a name you haven't heard about, right?
Starting point is 00:18:02 140 to 61. Let's do some you've heard of. Most definitely heard of, right? of, right? Lamb Research. Lamb Research. 438 to 285. That's not as bad as others.
Starting point is 00:18:21 What is that? About 35%. How about lattice semiconductor? LSCC. 160 to 114. Not so bad, right? Still not good. Broadcom.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Oh, you definitely heard of that one. It's at 345. The high was 500. That's only 30%. That's a good one. You see where I'm going with this? How about Oracle? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:00 That one. 345 to 130. That one. I think I've made my point. So just so you know today, pharmaceuticals strong, managed care and health care strong. Other health care strong. Dollar stores, discount retailers strong, including Costco.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Strong. You're getting some bounces, but not strong, and some transports. You're getting a good day in food, drug, beverage, tobacco, household products. Why would that be? oh, they're very defensive. And then they're the banks, off the lows today as yields reversed. I had Goldman at one time today.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Goldman today, after reversing $39 yesterday, Goldman today was down another, let's see, it hit $866. It was down another $26, it's down $15,000. right now as the Dow tries to bounce off of yields reversing. Up next, we're going to talk banks. This is the one that only Investors Edge. They're listening to America is talking. Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him.
Starting point is 00:21:26 The email from one person saying Trump bashing, all I do is bash Trump and bash Trump. Well, he's earned every bit of it. Remember, we have no bias. If he does great things, I will applaud him. I will give him standing ovations. I have given him A plus plus plus for the border. I couldn't give a crap that is Donald Trump or Joe Biden or Barack Obama. care about policy that is a beneficial beneficial to you and I. I heard somebody today,
Starting point is 00:22:23 it was like a political person, a political pundit, a woman, and it didn't matter whether it's a weatherman, was talking about how we need the politicians doing for us, for us, leave us image that they have done throughout the years is beyond the beyond. Are you kidding? Are you kidding? So I'm going to spend 30 seconds on the latest Trump BS. And by the way, I think we're at the, I think, no, I know. We're at the point, he don't even give a crap. He just says anything, whether it's the biggest lie or not, and he knows he's going to get called out and just doesn't care.
Starting point is 00:23:14 I think he just says, up yours, I'm the freaking president, I'm immune. You ready for the latest? So he came out and said something that, oh, I deal with Greenland, there's now massive oil and gas drilling beginning soon in Greenland. What a great deal I cut and this, that, this that, this that. Oil and gas extraction, Greenland's deputy mining minister, his name is Juergen, Hauer. What a name. Quote, we are very far away from massive exploration.
Starting point is 00:24:02 There are many smaller explorations underway, but this could take, these can take years to become operational. Let me say those words. Operational. This is after the president, quote, massive oil and gas and mineral exploration is getting ready to begin in our new and beautiful Greenland.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Our new. We don't know Greenland. Anyway, Trump went on to say all these great things, and Greenland just came out and said no. And of course, Greenland didn't call him a liar, did not say he made it up. We're calling him a liar and say he made it up. I wish it would stop. Do you know why? Because it's now being reported that he BSed again.
Starting point is 00:24:55 And I have to come on here and make sure you know why? Because we have no agenda alternative motive or bias just to tell you what the leaders of our country on both parties are doing. into us, for us or against us. That's all. All right. So it's 340 down 131. It was just only down 70. S&P down 94 NASDAQ 524, NASDAQ, 10620, the Russell 2000 small caps. And I have to tell you, this is the other part. All we keep hearing is when yields come down, the small caps will be strong. Well, I will tell you that yields had a great reversal day today and small caps are getting smacked again today. By the way, breaking another relative low. As I speak, you ready? Advanced declines on the New York, 1,013 up 3558 down. That's 3.5 to 1 negative. And on the NASDAQ,
Starting point is 00:26:02 894 up, 3495 down. That's about almost. close four to one negative. What else? New yearly lows between the two. A thousand and thirty-seven new yearly lows. New yearly highs, oh, not many. You want to hear some new yearly highs? See what I can find? I'm about to do that. See if anything sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm sure we're not going to be happy if I ever find them. All I got to do is press H.I. Oh, Pfizer, a drug company, New Yearly High, GameStop, New Yearly High, Exxon Mobil, BP, Chevron, Petrobras, Shell, Canadian National, Conoco Phillips, Suncor, Pbf Energy, EOG Resources, Phillips 66, Valero Energy, All Energy, Marathon Petroleum, All new yearly highs.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Anything else new yearly highs away from oils? No. Wait, hold on. No. Visa showing a new yearly high, but it's down six bucks today, so it's not a new yearly high at the close. The same goes for MasterCard. Ew. So not very good.
Starting point is 00:27:29 And by the way, oil prices today up a little bit. I do want to let you know Brent for December 106.03. And just letting you know, we keep hearing from the administration that when the war is over, oil prices will come down markedly. I'm trying to think of their quote. They don't use markedly a bunch, a lot. But I have a question. They're telling us the war is over.
Starting point is 00:28:03 the president's telling us he controls the straight am I wrong you can correct me if I'm wrong I know I'm right I know I'm right I know I'm right so why is oil at 106 when we won the war
Starting point is 00:28:35 we destroyed them we got rid of their nuclear and we control everything what does that tell you you catch in my drift a little more as you know we've been saying negotiating a war and deals on social media is ridiculous I can go on
Starting point is 00:28:58 I can go on and on but I'm just going to leave it at that today let me repeat defense stocks that have been the bare market are bouncing the managed care stocks United Health was up strong yesterday on earnings
Starting point is 00:29:16 and reversed badly The whole group is strong today. A few are strong. United Health is up almost $16. That's over $100 down points. With the Dowdown 1-18 as I speak. The pharmaceuticals, Lily up 41 today, ABV up 8 in Change,
Starting point is 00:29:36 AstraZeneca up 6, McKesson up 15. So good day for farmer. And managed care, of course, is health care. How about will you give your blood? Lab Corps. Quest. That's a pretty good health care. And you got some decent little, let's see, Cardinal Health, Thermodynamics, Waters Corp, so health care. And you got some good moves in biotech today. A couple. Regeneron have drug news up 3%. Vertex up 2.5% drug news. And boy, oh boy, don't ask me why, but the cigarettes are up today. Philip Morris breaking out. Philip Morris is almost. the new closing high. People still smoke cigarettes?
Starting point is 00:30:28 What the hell's with that? Have you ever seen those commercials where they show you a healthy lung versus a lung that's not in good shape? How can anybody watch that commercial and still smoke? Seriously. How can anybody still smoke? And I know it's addictive,
Starting point is 00:30:50 but there's ways of getting over addictions, right? Anyway, Philip Morris still kicks ass. Let's see, 1122, $40 billion in revenues. That's the holding company with interest in manufacturing in sales of cigarettes and tobacco products. And the other one is symbol M.O. Altria Group who subsidiaries manufactures
Starting point is 00:31:21 wholesale cigarette cigar and tobacco products. They do about 17 billion. That's a lot of sigs. Up next, we'll take you to near the close of a real weird day.
Starting point is 00:31:36 I'm Gary, this is the one only Investor's Edge. You're listening to What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for? One, two, ready, go. Action!
Starting point is 00:32:22 In the Vestors Edge. with Gary Culper. Crazy some of these politicians are. Kamala Harris is thinking about running again. I want you to think about this. They spent $1.5 billion on her candidacy against the guy that, well, you know everything about him, right? You know the good and the bad or the bad and the good and this, that and the other thing. and she couldn't beat them
Starting point is 00:33:17 with $1.5 billion yet she's going to run again and by the way I think she's an absolute lightweight she's a lightweight they'd be nuts to run her they'd be nuts to run
Starting point is 00:33:38 her and I think she's nuts to run we're a long way away from 28 with three weeks less than three weeks from 26 the house goes to the Democrats. It's just a matter of how many.
Starting point is 00:34:02 There are those that think 20, I think it's 30 or 40, but what do I know? And the Senate, that's going to be a nail bider. But I think it's quite instructive that the president, who, by the way, is not popular, thinks he should go out. He's going to red states and speaking. that's how worried they are. That's how worried they are.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Kansas. Are you kidding? Texas. Well, Trump screwed that one up, putting in that yachts. Wasn't they, Paxton? Go look at his resume. His resume is like a list of pure corruption.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Then again, there's a lot of that going on in D.C. All right, so let's put some pieces of the puzzle together. Very important that guilds opened hot today on inflation number and just crumbled and finished at the lows of the day. That's good news. Remember, we've been telling you that for a while. But it's getting noisy on the artificial intelligence trade. And now, if you turn on your tube today, they're going to talk core weave today. we've been doing that for months.
Starting point is 00:35:34 And now it's coming out. And the stock crumbled bigger today. Let's see, so about 15%. The CEO comes out and say, ah, this is all a bunch of BS, while they're selling billions of dollars of insider stock. Remember, it's not what I say.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Watch what I do. Everything's great. The Dow will hold up better than the high beta, if things keep getting defensive. The defensive areas, as we have told you again, health care, food, beverage, tobacco, household products, those are staples. We're seeing dollar stores today get a bid, and I didn't even see any news on that. Let me see if they're even viable. Let's see, dollar general is up.
Starting point is 00:36:32 five bucks and it doesn't look like I touch it and Dollar Tree is up five bucks today. I wonder what that means. Discount retailers? Good day. Five below. I'm going to have to go visit one. I've never. That's up five today. Costco. By the way, they're opening a Costco right where I live. They had a mall that went completely out of business and there was a huge dick sporting goods in it. that went by-bye, Costco's taking that over. And Dick's sporting goods is opening farther away from the mall. Though Dick's sporting goods stock just crashed. Oh my God, did it crash?
Starting point is 00:37:16 Earnings were down 19%. That didn't help. So ladies and gentlemen, a lot of jello moving on the plate. And again, if this continues, the S&P underperforms the down. The S&P today is down about 1.2. percent, the Dow is down two-tenths of a percent as I speak. It will be about yields and oil prices for the broader market, but today still broader market, not very good, and the small caps and mid-caps, another crappy day. But for a change, for a change, yields, instead of opening down
Starting point is 00:37:57 and finishing up, opening up and finishing down, that's a change. be okay. We'll see what tomorrow. But Dell down 63 on a down grade, AMD down 34. Those are the strong names. Light down 86. That's a strong name. The software that has been really strong. They're getting hit today. Simple NET down 24. Palo Alto down 21. Snowflate fails a breakout up down 22. Twilio down 10. Data Dog fails a breakout down 14. So now software, maybe. I'll have to check that out after the close. So we'd be wary of the AI semiconductor trade now kids. You already know about the ones that have already crumbled that worsened today? I could have gone through another hundred names about where they were and where they are. Maybe we'll do that tomorrow, the rest of them. It is just ugly. And we would avoid. If they're getting the strongest names, what do you think the weaker names are doing?
Starting point is 00:39:11 But going to be interesting, there's another inflation report tomorrow. Let's see what bonds do. I think bonds saved the day today by reversing. But after that, I don't have much great to say. You're a happy camper if you own some biotech and pharmaceuticals. today in a sea of ugly, a sea of ugly. Hope you have been listening on all this because 30, 40, 50, 60% drops. And let us not forget, the OKLO is now down to 29 bucks.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Remember, touting you big time. And we told you about valuation. You have a great evening, drive carefully when you get home, do like we do quite simple. Make sure you hug your family, hug your children. They will feel better, you will feel better. I promise they will be well. Make sure you hug your pets also. Have a good night, everybody.
