And when you email us, we just want you to be nice because we're going to be nice back. Regardless, whether we agree with you or disagree with you. We move forward. So as you know,
Starting point is 00:01:44 yesterday we said today, my dog Winston would be having surgery. They did the CAT scan and decided against surgery. It's good news, not good news, and that the surgery would be too much where the cancer is. So not going to do it. But when I mentioned this yesterday, I got 100 emails from you guys. I got emails left and right from people that said, yeah, my dog, they found cancer three years ago and it hasn't spread. So you never know.
Starting point is 00:02:17 I got a bunch of that. So you never know. We're going to be picking them up in a little while, discuss maybe radiation and the effect. I believe it or not, this may sound. crazy, I'm almost relieved. No surgery. And the way the doctors sounded, I don't know if the word was relief, but I don't know. Just every day is a good day with my dog. I posted it on Twitter last night. I think 60,000 views or likes, which is pretty darn good for us, because we're nobody's here. Anyway, that's
Starting point is 00:02:58 the story with Winston. I got to find it somewhere here. But we just posted it and, man, a 52,000. A deck of cards. So that's the story of my day. And as I've been watching markets, all I've been thinking about
Starting point is 00:03:14 is the little guy. All right, let's segue. Big news out of Israel, they took out the mastermind, the ring leader, the animal, that planned the October 7th in Israel. He's out.
Starting point is 00:03:33 The two below him are out. And I got to tell you, this is like one of the greatest, most effective counterterrorism operations, efforts we have seen in ages. Those that said, Neen, me, me, yeah, screw that. As we have told you here,
Starting point is 00:03:51 the number one job of any leader of any country is to protect the citizens. defend the citizens at all costs. And when all is said and done, there's going to be a post-mortem on the intelligence and Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel on how October 7th happened. But in the answer to it, he has done his job. And this animal is gone. And we hope it's a Hitler-Metler.
Starting point is 00:04:26 moment. And what we mean by that is once Hitler knew he was dead meat, you know, they rolled over. He killed himself. The rest rolled over. Maybe the rest are going to see the writing on the wall. I don't know. But something's going to give. And in case you don't know, we believe all the Arab countries that have been quite are rooting for Israel because they all want peace. They don't want terrorism. They want peace and prosperity. We haven't heard anything bad out of Syria in three or four years. But who knows what goes on there. Anyway, that's a big story today. And maybe this will lead to the hostages. Finally, the hostages being released, don't know. Next. And we must cover it.
Starting point is 00:05:23 So we had the interview last night, Brett Baer, and Kamala Harris. And I have to tell you, politicians are also stupid. I don't think Kamala Harris realizes there's still a lot of votes to be had of people that do not like Trump, but may still vote for him because of her.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Not even Trump. I know a few. I know a few that can't stand Trump. Nothing they like about him. But they're probably going to vote for them. Because of how bad a leadership Biden-Harris has been. And of course, what I think is the three big things. Immigration, inflation, those two, size of government with debt and deficits, amongst other things.
Starting point is 00:06:28 So she's got this interview with Brett Bear, and it's being called, oh, she's in the Lions Den. I watched it a second time, and all Brett Bear did was ask normal questions that I would ask. She shows up 17 minutes late, and they cut the interview short. He never even got to the economy and inflation. And what did she do the whole time? no answers, evasive, and it's all Donald Trump's fault. So here she has this opportunity to become a leader. Harry S. Truman had a sign on his desk, President Truman.
Starting point is 00:07:09 The buck stops here. So she has this chance because she's asked a pointed question that others aren't going to ask on immigration. How many came through? And what does she do? she BSes shows no leadership whatsoever
Starting point is 00:07:31 and just BSes and it turns into you know back and forth and of course sides have been taken but she had this opportunity you know to say
Starting point is 00:07:43 you know I was vice president and the president and I was part of it and what you do is you move forward you learn and you never know when you're going to do right
Starting point is 00:07:54 but we all have the best of intentions and we figured it out. And in the last nine months, we got things better. And you can see much less people are coming across the border. You know, dot, dot, dot. With inflation, yes, it went up, but it was because of this. And you know it's come way down. She had this opportunity.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Instead, she showed to be bleh. And when I use the word bleu, I mean bleh. Because it was the same day you got trained. Trump, do you know, Trump's out there saying, I never said anything about the military or the National Guard going after people? It's on video that he did. So anyway, she has this chance with the Fox News audience, and she just blew it. And of course, the corrupt, sycophantic media who presided. Because we're the friendly of her, we're the friends.
Starting point is 00:09:01 We're here defending her. They're the enemy of her. Because they keep saying what a wonderful job she did yesterday. Oh, she was terrific. She was wonderful. She was this, they were that. The media all used the words, testy. By the way, they copy each other.
Starting point is 00:09:17 You can just put all the media news clippings. They all had the word testy in there. You had one woman from the view say, oh, it was racist and misogynion. interview, what's that Mika on MSNBC said it was an ambush? An ambush? He asked about immigration. He asked about Iran, normal questions to ask of somebody. And she blew it.
Starting point is 00:09:44 And I spoke to some people that I know that do not like Trump at all. But they like low taxes, less regulations like me. And we know Trump will do that because it did it last time. She's proposed much higher taxes and much more rules and regulations and fees and fines and mandates and all that crap. So she has this opportunity to pummel Trump without pummeling him and making excuses because of him. When she was asked about the three and a half years as vice president, well, Trump's been campaigning for 10 years. What the hell does that have to do with anything? So when missed opportunity, remember how I said Trump missed opportunity in debate?
Starting point is 00:10:32 Well, Kamala Harris missed opportunity in this interview. And her supposed best friends do her no justice by telling her how wonderful she was and how what a fighter she was and this and that. She lost votes. And in an election where he is ahead right now, he's ahead. There's no doubt in my mind. and she's running out of days. She blew it. What an opportunity.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Remember what I told you a long time ago, if I was running for president and I was a conservative, I'd be on MSNBC and CNN a lot more than anything else. You talk to the people who don't like you. Up next, we'll put a bow tie on it, get to the markets, everything else. I'm Gary.

Starting point is 00:14:36 It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. So if I'm a candidate, I go to where I don't have the votes in order to convince the people and I may get nothing out of it. But where do you go? You go to the, and that's why I was happy for her, she went to Fox News. Why? Because Fox News, a lot of conservatives, a lot of Republicans watch Fox News. By the way, a ton of Democrats watch Fox News.
Starting point is 00:15:33 I don't know if you know that. Big time. A ton. So she has this opportunity to win over people with leadership. People love leaders. Strength. Honesty. What a concept.
Starting point is 00:15:50 And what an opportunity to just say. You don't have to say we blew it. We screwed up. You can just come out and say, you know, it took us a while, but once we figured it out, look at the numbers now, and we got it right. And as president going forward, this is what I'm going to be doing. Of course, then again, if she plans on just keeping the borders open, then that's another story. But I think you get my point.
Starting point is 00:16:26 And I have to repeat again, all these people, I saw ambushed. Oh, she was terrific. Oh, it was racist and massagist. It's like, it's their little cottage industry. It's that little template. It's always this. It's always that. And all you had to do was answer the questions, the best way you know how, and give a vision for the country. You know how I give the vision for a country right here? It's so simple. Gary Kay's vision of the country. A, we're going to get a hold of how much money government spending, and we're going to ram through it. We're going to knock out pedesters' $350 billion for climate, for starters, and we're going to run through every department and see where there's waste where we don't need. Make sure that we don't overdo it. we're going to know that 2019 the federal government spent 4.4 trillion this year
Starting point is 00:17:28 7 trillion I want to know why do we are spending $2.6 trillion more than 5 years ago and then find that stuff and see how we can deal with that and get us to balance budgets
Starting point is 00:17:43 that's number one number two tax is low regulations you need regulations but not onerous and then get the hell out of the way. And then we'll add in, we're going to look at all the communities that are behind. You know what we mean by that.
Starting point is 00:18:02 There are a lot of communities that are just behind that need help. And I get the big community leaders in each of those communities, bring them to the White House, get all the business leaders also, get them to the White House. And one by one, sit down, what do we have to do? to get things right. What do we have to do to make sure this city is getting everything done? And the cities where they're crazy DAs and stuff like that,
Starting point is 00:18:35 I would influence the hell out of them. In New York City, as I've told you, I go to a CVS drugstore and everything's locked up. And two security guards. It's freaking insane. And then I'll look at the criminal justice system. Why in Washington, D.C., do they have to give out flyers to people on how to protect themselves from carjackings? And in Oakland and San Fran.
Starting point is 00:19:07 And then, as you know, immigration, we're going to stop it. It's not hard. You know, the Biden administration now has cut the amount coming over very quickly. You keep them in Mexico. And you deal with Mexico on it. And then once we're done, we get the hell out of your way. Let you all excel. Be great.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Education system also. Get them in. Why are the math numbers like this? What do we have to do to fix that? And get the best people possible that don't have any agenda except to get the job done. What else? Well, we've got to figure out how to have the Mets not lose 8-0 last night.
Starting point is 00:20:00 That would help too. But that's besides the point. Anyway, but no! Anyway, I stick with my pinned tweet, the Ebola virus versus bubonic plague. But whoever wins will back them a thousand percent. And I do have a title of Fox News Business contributor. I will try to influence them on.
Starting point is 00:20:29 decision making on the economy, debt, and deficits, I can only try. What can I tell you? And that's the wrap on all that. She blew it. What a dummy. I don't know the numbers on how many people watched it last night, but it's in the millions. And in some states, I think there's going to be 50,000 difference. Boy, she could have done a good thing for herself yesterday. All right. We move forward. The markets. Interesting today. As we head to the close right now,
Starting point is 00:21:11 there are certain stocks we follow, one being Nvidia. Invidia tried to break out today and tucked right in like a frightened turtle. Broadcom, same thing. The big story was a company called Taiwan Semiconductor, symbol TSM,
Starting point is 00:21:28 which overnight came out with numbers and I guess they're called AI related, and the stock gapped up. Was up 25 at one time today, still up 18, and really influenced the semiconductor index. But as I speak as we're headed towards the close, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is up 55 points, but it was up, oh, 150.
Starting point is 00:21:55 So they're distributing some early excitement in the semiconductor. which are very important. KLACs down another 12 today. Texas Instruments is just distribution there where you're not getting distribution. I mean the Dow is up 165 and Travelers is pretty much 140 of that today. So another Dow stock that is an insurance company on the move. As we have told you the story with insurance companies, they're raising premium. and they're getting them. All state. California, 34% hike on homeowners. Florida, you know what's going on there. So travelers, boom, beat Wall Street estimates, helps the Dow today. Financial stocks, off the highs of the day, but still not a bad day. They're of help. what has my interest and I want you to listen carefully on this so you had this move in China
Starting point is 00:23:07 boom up next where do we stand on it and we'll have much more on this the one only investors edge having MG can make cooking difficult but over the years I found some really helpful tools and tips that I'm excited to share

He's got to be pleased with the crowd. is just on his feet here he's a Cinderella boy with Gary Colbomb comes highly recommended
Starting point is 00:26:00 you're gonna feel better if you talk to him so we always have this terminology here and one of the little phrases we use is the big fat pitch we're always looking for a big fat pitch in the market big fat pitch they don't come around all the time. And when they do, they're still not easy. My biggest problem through the years, and I'm pretty sure most of my brethren have the same, is holding. It's really not easy. I don't care what they say.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And pretty much once a month, what I'll do is, you know how when I say I scan 1,500 stocks? Well, we do. And in those 1500 stocks, we'll go backwards on things we didn't buy and try to figure out if I bought it, would I've been able to hold through all this? And so often, I'm like, damn, they would have made that tough. Oh, and I would have sold it here. Oh, and I would have been out here. So it's not easy. All I know is if I can hold the stock for a year, that means I'm making some good money because we're leading stocks and leading groups.
Starting point is 00:27:32 And we're looking for the big fat pitch. There's been a couple this year, what we call big fat pitches. One was Nvidia, January 8th, which we highlighted. We gave it to our radio audience, you peeps, we gave that to you. That was a big fat pitch. Around the same time was something called super micro. another big fat pitch that I failed on. We didn't buy. That happened a week after, a little over week, January 19th. And I remember what happened that day. They opened the stock weird. They reversed it down and then out of nowhere out of the shoot, had the big breakout and I just didn't buy. And that sucker was up 100% in about six weeks. and believe me, I've gone over it quite the few times.
Starting point is 00:28:39 It was setting up kind of like Nvidia. It's a big fat pitch. And Nvidia was a great one for us. And then you had a second one in Nvidia also, which takes me to China. So, recently, overnight, China announces people are calling it bazookas. If you recall, Jay Powell, in October of 2019, that whole year from Christmas of 18 to October of 19, he changed his stance to raising rates to lowering rates. And he was basically addressing the market. That's what he was doing.
Starting point is 00:29:38 absolutely positively. He could talk blue in the face he wasn't, but he did. The market was getting blasted into Christmas of 18, and he sent out his mouthpiece to say, oh, we're not going to raise rates anymore, and the markets went up, and then markets started coming down, then they talked about lowering rates,
Starting point is 00:29:59 and then markets went up, and then they lowered rates, and markets came down, and then they talked about lowering rates, and three times, and then the markets just weren't performing the way he wanted and the economy was just fine. In October of 2019, in an interview he was doing at some symposium, oh, we may be doing more money printing without saying the words money printing.
Starting point is 00:30:22 He said, don't call it quantitative easing, whatever. Anyway, that October, once he announced it, I came on this show and said to you, by the hell out of the market. Because the last time we had money printing, markets soared. So from October to February, the markets did just that. And you didn't have to get crazy. I think we bought Microsoft, we bought some big tech, and then COVID hit. So it was going to work.
Starting point is 00:31:08 That was a big fat pitch until COVID. And then he did the printing to $9 trillion, which turned into another big fat pitch during COVID. So that takes us to China. So recently, China announced overnight. And on September 24th, he had this big 10% move, some even more. And basically what the government came in and said, we're going to do this, that, and the other thing. and without getting into it, it was just all about government getting involved in markets, handing out money, trying to settle the property market, which is in shambles,
Starting point is 00:31:51 and two days later, gapped up again on more news, and five days later gapped up again, and had another little gap to the high, which was on October 7th. And after the first gap, we had said to you, man, we think this can be good, but there is no way we can buy this thing here. Too extended. No way. And guess what? It wasn't because you had three more gaps. And in between you had David Tepper, one of the great hedge fund managers who made the call on Bernanke printing money to just buy everything.
Starting point is 00:32:33 He said, buy all China. And that was right if that and the market went up. Well since, October 7th, it's like the right side of the Eiffel Tower. It's the right side of the Eiffel Tower on China and China stocks. And I'm just letting you know I'm trying to gauge if they're going to give another big fat pitch or is just a one-off. And the problem is it's guesswork every night. are they going to gap it up? Are they going to gap it down?
Starting point is 00:33:15 And the last two out of three days, they gapped it down again after a big gap down October 8th. So we'll let you know because all I know is here when we were printing money and just, I mean, what did they say, throwing money out of an airplane or helicopter? The markets were happy as all hell. But so far, disappointment. Disappointment.
Starting point is 00:33:49 So just letting you know. And we're watching things like the FXI, the K-W-E-B, the C-W-E-B, Alibaba, and a few others, and we'll keep you informed. But on a daily basis, I can't tell you what's going to happen overnight, because I don't know what they're going to say. But as of this second, they've already, what I call, thrown in the kitchen sink, and the market's not happy.
Starting point is 00:34:32 So we'll let you know, technically, it's still just very extended to the downside. Excuse me, to the upside. Now, in the shorter term, extended to the downside, and we'll let you know.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Keep you informed. Earning season today. Blackstone up 10, M&T Bank up 9. How about this one? Snap on. You ready for this? Earning's up four, revenue down one. The stock was up 30 bucks 10% today, the new yearly high.
Starting point is 00:35:10 This is tools and equipment and stuff. And I looked at their guidance. It wasn't that great. So I don't know what the hell is going on with some of these things. But there's a move of foot in good reactions. There were some bad ones today also. But dang, Taiwan semi-finished up 18, was up 25, and Travelers up 21 today, which was the whole Dow. And there's your story.
Starting point is 00:35:40 And there's some earnings after the close. Oh, on the downside today, remember United Health, managed care, elephants. was down 51 bucks today to $446. Did it really hit $400 on the open? It hit $400 on the open. So at least it came back. Was it down 90? And by the way, it's managed care.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Beats the hell out of us. Up next, what else is reporting? What else is going on? Thanks for being here. I'm Gary. This is the one only investor's edge. The Dow was up 161, but the S&P was down one. And the Dow was all, it was just travelers today, pretty much. NASDAQ only up six. I think the NASDAQ at one time today,
Starting point is 00:39:36 let me get my bearing straight. It's been a long day. The NASDAQ at one time today was 18-5-4-1, was up 180, finished up six. So they distributed. And Vidi was up like five today, finished up one in change. That's certainly not going to help.
Starting point is 00:40:00 So a little distribution, not the end of the world. Something will be watching. The transports were down 2.30 today. They had a good day yesterday, bad day today. As we said, China, yuck. Bitcoin finished down on the day. Remains range bound. In the aftermarket, Netflix closed down 14 today.
Starting point is 00:40:27 In the aftermarket's up 29. so it's up 14 on the day which is about 2%. The initial earnings, when it came out, it was actually down and then they said something about subs or something like that. Who knows where it ends up tomorrow? Netflix will be open. If it opens right here tomorrow, it'll be in range. Intuitive surgical, another one.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Close at 472. I got it at 505. If it opens here tomorrow, it'll open above a little range. So that's two names that reported after the close that are of note. Tomorrow's Friday, right? Yeah, duh. Let's see, Procter & Gamble, Comerica. I think American Express reports tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:41:26 We'll see what comes of it. But good reaction and Netflix is moving up a little bit more. It's actually up 19 on the day after being down 14. So it's up 30 bucks in the aftermarket. And we've made good money throughout the years in Netflix. And we lost a couple of times. So that will be interesting in the morning. So that's two names.
Starting point is 00:41:51 And I've got to move both of those names to what I call my gap area. and in case you don't know, we're always watching and listing and putting on the screen things that gap up on earnings because of great earnings reports. We're wary of gaps on earnings on crappy earnings reports like a snap on today, but what the heck do we know? and stock was up $29 bucks on a 1% drop in sales, which by the way is like their worst quarter in a couple of years. So go figure. What can I tell you?
Starting point is 00:42:40 Anything else that stuck out today? It just ended up a mixed day. There's still some good action in some financials. Some of the economically sensitive names pretty much just quietly. drifting higher and higher. And as I go through regional banks acting just fine in here. And an M&T bank,
Starting point is 00:43:09 here's one. Earnings up whopping 1%. Revenue, zero. But better than the last three quarters. Okay. Stocks up nine to almost 200 bucks. broke out four days ago above 180. Can't buy a breakout four days before earnings.
Starting point is 00:43:31 So a Northeast Bank, M&T Bank, strong. So that's what we're getting right now in the markets. And again, we're not saying it's weird. We're not saying it's going to end badly. We just always question companies that have great reactions to crappy numbers. When I say crappy down or flat and guidance, nothing special either. So stay tuned.
Starting point is 00:44:10 We'll keep showing the way. As always, it's your money you get to decide. We'll keep telling you where there's leadership, laggard ship, I just made up a word, what to avoid, what we think is in downtrends, bare marks, markets. And, you know, for a long time it was the airlines. Now United Airlines is like an AI stock. Wow. United Airlines. And I know why. You know, I have to go to New York tomorrow and flying back, and we're not making this up. From New York to Orlando, the cheapest flight was $375.75. And that's Spirit Airlines and no thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:54 I had to pay $450 for an economy seat coming back from New York. 450. You think they got you? Just letting you know. I'm trying to book a trip from my son going Hawaii from L.A. to Hawaii, it's like 350 bucks. Cheaper. They know where the big money is, kids. And there's no more discount airlines.
Starting point is 00:45:35 You know that, right? And even the spirits and stuff that looks like 50 bucks, that's before you got to add everything in. Oh, you want to breathe on the jet? That's going to cost you $75.5. Okay, that was a little sarcasm. So anyway, we covered a bunch today. We're getting closer to the election. I am keeping fingers crossed for gridlock.
Starting point is 00:46:00 and I know everybody's fans are one or the other. We respect all of you. We harbor no ill. We just think they've all let us down throughout the years and we don't see it changing. If one of them wins and they show the way and they get back to we the people and balance budgets and just let us do our thing, I will give them standing ovations on a daily basis. So, ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to pick up Winston. You all have a great evening, drive carefully.
Starting point is 00:46:37 And when you get home, do like we do. Quite simple. Make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children. Hug your pets. They will feel better. You will feel better. Stay well, be well.
