Starting point is 00:00:30 at all tastes like. Investor's Edge with Gary Coltbaum. Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Colbom, your host day. Thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you are listening.
Starting point is 00:00:50 It is Tuesday, November 5th, 2014, Election Day, and all that stuff. We will cover it. We'll cover our thoughts, what we've been saying, what we're thinking, the markets, the scam, and the con. We cannot forget it. Remember, there's a thing called three-card Monty. You know what that is? Three-card Monty. I am looking it up. It's a con game, and basically, you're supposedly a... able to find the money card or the money ball, and they have you looking one way while they are ripping you off another way. We'll get into that in a minute. But first, if you do not get this show in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com. We'll also post it on our Twitter feed. If you don't follow us on Twitter, you should. Just go to Twitter, put our name in. And if you'd like to email us, just be nice. That's pretty simplistic, right? And we will talk markets, the economy, your job,
Starting point is 00:02:02 industry, everything that's going on out there with no agenda, alteria motive, or bias, unlike what you're getting from others. So first and foremost, if I were either campaign right now, I would not be confident either way. I think it's that touch and go. We have been saying to you for two or three weeks, we thought Trump had the better chance. If we had a bet, it would be him for two reasons. number one, all the polls have them even, and in the past he's always losing by three, four, five, six points, there's an undercount. That's number one. Number two, she's the change agent,
Starting point is 00:02:50 but she's been there for three and a half years, almost four years. And I'm not so sure that flies. I'll throw one more in. I think the men may be coming out. But on the other, end, I think the women are coming out. This abortion thing is a lot bigger than it's ever been. The marketing of it and what's been going on, a lot more, a lot stronger than it's ever been. By the way, that's not taken aside. I'm just making a statement before somebody emails me. So we'll see how it goes tonight.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Here's the one guarantee. The Republicans have the Senate. That's the one guarantee. So if she wins, she don't have the Senate. The House, I'm not sure. The Republicans should have the House pretty good, but they got some crappy candidates. And of course, they should be way ahead in the House,
Starting point is 00:03:56 but in the midterms, the Trump candidates stunk. Should have been much better. That's that. Now, before we get into the rest of it, I just want to remind my audience. My ample audience, the things that nobody else in the country is talking about today. Because they're one side of the other, my guy, my gal, this thing, that thing, and all that fun stuff. I just don't want you to forget what is being done.
Starting point is 00:04:37 in the game of three-card money. Look at what I'm doing with my right hand while I steal from you with my left hand. In the month of October, Biden Harris ran a $487 billion deficit. If you extrapolated out for 10 months, 12 months, the $5.5 trillion, 5.6 trillion of debt in one year. Why would they run such a deficit into the election?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Because it gooses the economy. They've been averaging $350 billion every month. They did a Fiscal Responsibility Act in 23, and they've run up $4.something trillion in debt since then. The lie, the scam, the con, on you, the investing public, on you the taxpayer, kicking you in the grapefruits on a daily basis, and hidden because of the game of three card money.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Do you hear anybody talking about it? No, it's abortion. No, it's the border. No, it's Afghanistan. No, it's climate. And we're letting you know the biggest crisis long term is what they are doing in D.C. We're at $36 trillion and we're on the fast track. Fast track to God knows how much.
Starting point is 00:06:16 $487 billion they spent more than they took in in October and they're trying to tell us what a great economy they have that we have next I have to mention the disappointment I don't know if it means anything to you
Starting point is 00:06:47 but I have Oprah Winfrey going out last night saying that if they don't win that you'll never cast a ballot again. What a bunch of bull crap. Elon Musk on the other side
Starting point is 00:07:10 said just about the same thing. I'm just tired of these people. I'm just tired of these people. Oh, I'm not done. You want tired of these people? This whole celebrity thing Do you know who Doug M. Hoff is?
Starting point is 00:07:45 The husband of Kamala Harris. He has been accused by his old girlfriend of smacking the crap out of her. Obviously, Me Too movement is quite selective because Lady Gaga was front and center. But last night, she said to the thousands that Doug Emhoff is a man who knows. knows how to support a powerful woman. And what a good man. This is sickening. It's sickening.
Starting point is 00:08:28 It's the selectivity of politics. It's nauseating. For somebody like me that's an independent, libertarian, and the only reason I went libertarian is because of how bad they are in D.C. It's just disgusting. CBS, we're finding out, do you know who Catherine Harwich is? She used to work for Fox.
Starting point is 00:09:02 They squashed her report on Hunter Biden, CBS, and fired her. We're finding that out. The New York Times headline this morning, a grim Trump and an upbeat Harris and the race, hitting opposite notes while Harris and her minions are calling him Hitler. I can go on, but I just want to let you know, regardless who wins, the con continues. The blatant BS continues. We'll keep calling it out as we move forward.
Starting point is 00:09:55 The hope is, if she does win, they get the House also. They're getting the Senate. Now, if you notice, I don't sound very optimistic. Well, I've never been more optimistic on us. I've never been more pessimistic on them. Remember we told you they did campaign finance reform, but somehow 16 billion for this election. I'm hearing $500 million just for Pennsylvania, which by the way, pretty much how that goes is going to tell you a lot tonight. You know who Joy Reid is?
Starting point is 00:10:41 She spent 10 minutes telling you that Donald Trump is Hitler, Mussolini and Nicholas Maduro all in one. And they let her have a show on that channel. By the way, she's a homophobic twit who's on record for saying that, but she still gets a show. Selective. Up next, we'll wind it up. Got the markets to do. Much more.

In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal.
Starting point is 00:13:00 A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches. like I get a stomach egg every time that I eat and it just becomes like a lifestyle where oh yeah you know I just I have a stomachache or I'm constantly feeling like gassy and all of those things are not something that generally if you have a healthy gut you should be living with so that's when we deep dive
Starting point is 00:13:23 we deep dive into your medication we deep dive into your OTC medication and then at that point we can probably identify something that we can change hear the full conversation plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeartRadio. Starting point is 00:15:22 It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion. of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this.
Starting point is 00:15:38 By the way, to tell you how good these polls are, here's one that says Trump is poised, secure, a landslide victory that could resemble Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter. The next poll, Kamala Harris is winning. Whatever. Whatever. You know what the good news is? Regardless, we'll wake up tomorrow and not have fun. the deal with the 4,000 texts and the stupid ads running on TV with each call in the other
Starting point is 00:16:32 the worst possible things on earth. That's the good news. My PID tweet stands. We move forward. So every now and then, we'll come on this show and tell you we had a bad down day. I take that back. We had a big down day, but it wasn't that bad. Then we've had days where we were up 1%, and I'd say to you, but then I've also said to you, darn, that's a real good 1%. It's only 1%, but it's a real good 1%. Well, the Dow was up 1% today.
Starting point is 00:17:30 The S&P was up a little more than 1%. The NASDAQ was a little bit more than the S&P. but it was a really good day, much better than what the indices did. Now, why do I come up with that statement, a tone, tone, how it felt, what it looked like, and what were they moving? That's what we mean. So we're just letting you know right off the all-important support areas. of the 50-day moving average. I love today's action.
Starting point is 00:18:28 It's really the first day in a while that I've loved, not liked. Does that mean we're going to get more? No, not at all. Do you know why? We got an election to get passed. And who the hell knows how the market's going to react
Starting point is 00:18:52 from whoever wins? You know, we're hearing it should act better if Trump wins. It should act worse if she wins. What if that's not true? We're just letting you know really like today's action. Here's some things we saw. Love the action in Black Rock and Goldman Sachs. Two of the stronger big-name financials.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Without getting two technicals, Black Rock jumped off a very important support area as a strong stock. Goldman Sachs has not broken out of anything, but very good what we call flat action and potentially poised to move out. Very good earnings reactions, though there were blowups, and there were a bunch of semiconductor blowups, interesting enough. You had five semiconductor blowups. One of them, though, reversed to be only down a little.
Starting point is 00:20:17 There are three that got hit pretty hard, and the other one came back decently, but semiconductors were up today. Interesting. Good action in some of the biggies. Meta, which was been under pressure down to the 50-day moving average pretty much to the penny. Jumped up nine bucks before you can say boo on the open today. wish volume was better but still bounced off important support Broadcom off the 50-day moving average
Starting point is 00:20:49 Tesla after acting great on earnings pulled back very harshly good reaction today some of the economically sensitive names when you have a chance go look GWW setting up for hire L-II
Starting point is 00:21:12 setting up for hire PWR setting up for hire. URI holding the 50 day. You get where I'm going with this? In the tech and all that, service now, gapped up, sat around, started to move again today. Good to see.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Very good reaction in something called Palantir, PLTR, though valuation is an absolute joke. But valuations, as you know, very often does not matter. Netflix, for example, hasn't broken out, but potentially poised. And interesting enough, it was up decently today, even though I heard they got raided today in France over taxes or something like that. The advanced declines, three to one positive on the NASDAQ, more than three to one positive on the New York. You haven't heard us say that in a while.
Starting point is 00:22:21 And it just felt like a good tone going into the election, knowing that we have no idea who's going to win and what the reaction is going to be. But I'm actually thinking to myself no matter who it is. If you think the market would be bad because of her, and of course her bad taxes and all that crap, the Republicans are going to have the Senate. So maybe just maybe it's a who cares type of thing. I'm just letting you know I was impressed today. No indecy has broken out of range, but you had some good support areas today and bounced off it decently. By the way, you had some volume on the NASDAQ 2 today.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Tomorrow will be another day. What to look for tonight? You know, we're pretty good at this. We're not held out as a political genius on TV because they have me as a market guy and economic guy. When I'm on with Fox, I'm called a Fox News Business contributor. But I should probably lobby them to have me get into the politics of it all also. It's pretty simple. It's pretty simple. Pennsylvania and Georgia. If Trump wins those two, it's over. Up next, what else we got for you? Thanks for being here. I'm Gary. This
Starting point is 00:24:04 the one to only investors edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist, Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Like, I get a stomach ache every time that I eat. And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just have a stomach egg every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive. We deep dive into your medication.

He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Coltbaum. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better. if you talk to. I watched a couple of fossils today saying that if she loses it's because she's a woman.
Starting point is 00:27:51 The hell's a matter with these people. What is the matter with these idiots? Let me tell you something. You find me a Margaret Thatcher. I'll campaign for her from now to New Year's. Women. I got news for you. I can think of quite a few women that have been a lot better than the last four presidents. Seriously, we don't care what race, creed, color, gender, denomination, short, fat, skinny, tall, nine fingers, 11 toes. You defend the country. Balance the budgets. Be efficient and effective with government. You got our vote.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And get the hell out of the way. You got our vote. Show me a great woman up for election. my vote. Doesn't matter to me. No, but if she loses, it's any women. Idiot. Andrea Mitchell. She's retiring.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Just another goblin, by the way. We're so tired of the hacks. And remember, we're not talking about the opinion people. We're talking about reporters and anchors like Andrea Mitchell that would say something stupid like that. And boy, oh boy, they're driving to the hoop in this election. big time. Reddit, RDDT. Just write that down. We love big reactions to earnings and I got to tell you that if there wasn't an election today, I would have bought some today. I couldn't. I just don't want to
Starting point is 00:30:15 buy in front of things. It was one of those things had a big move, pulled back for three days and covered the pullback today. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Palantir, another big reaction earnings, PLTR. We are not telling you to buy them, sell them, short them, recover them. We're letting you know they have the ingredients off to the reaction of earnings. Notwithstanding a market crash, they have the ingredients. We'll see what happens. Those two. There are others. But I would say not as great. Service Now, NOW. Very good reaction. hasn't gotten out yet. And when we do our scans every day, I just keep a list of those big reactions.
Starting point is 00:31:15 There's another one today, but this one's more spec. ALAB, Astero Labs. And again, some of the problems I have, it's trading 50 times sales. Palantir 50 times sales. So any hiccup and these things crash. and would I buy them extended hell no. But we loved, in bare markets, in real bare markets, you don't see those types of reactions.
Starting point is 00:31:47 That's the best way I can put it. So something's up with them. And what we do right now with a daylight today, holding support, we start deciphering. I already scanned 1,500 stocks today. I took out my highlighter, my pink highlighter to highlight which names. And I got a little thing where it says,
Starting point is 00:32:16 if Goldman Sachs breaks above this level and one by one. So really like today's action, not knowing what's going to happen from tonight. Not only who wins or loses, but how the market reacts to it. And of course, there are blowups. And as we said to you, they just go by the wayside.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Let me give you an example of a blow up today. Ferrari. Symbol race. Down 35 bucks today. Cracking the 50-day moving average on almost five times average volume. Institution saying, get me the hell out of the way. As I mentioned, there were also some semis. How about selenese?
Starting point is 00:33:12 You ever hear of them? Chemicals. Down 26% today on 11 times average volume. Missed numbers. Not good. wins the casino company. They said they're not doing great in Vegas. Down 8% today.
Starting point is 00:33:32 WynN. Young today. Big time on earnings. On huge volume. Guess what we do with those? Bye bye. And may I state for the record, there's been a hell of a lot of blowups.
Starting point is 00:33:52 More than the good reactions. But that's okay, as long as there are good reactions. Now next, just got to mention something because we've been wrong on something. We were telling you that the Fed reports tomorrow, no, they start the meeting tomorrow and they're going to report Thursday. So at least they got smart enough to say, you know, we better not do the thing on Wednesday the day the election. We'll do it Thursday, which we think is moronic also. They should have made the meeting for next week. Duh. But they're dupuses. They don't have a clue. So the same week we have a very important election
Starting point is 00:34:39 where the candidates are polar opposites on taxes, on regulations and other stuff. And let's have a Fed meeting. Bernie Marcus passed away at the age of 95. Founder of Home Depot. One of the people that I've loved the most that only met once. for a whopping three minutes. Go read his story on what he did. Was fired from his job. What was it? Handy Dan or something.
Starting point is 00:35:21 With Arthur Blank. Went to Ken Langone, got some money, started Home Depot, turned it into a monster. They decided, man, if people need to buy rakes, why not be able to
Starting point is 00:35:36 buy the blower also in the same place and if they need cement and they came up with Home Depot. A Goliath, billionaire. But while he made his billions, he never cared to do options or he would have made a ton more. And what did he do with a ton of his money? Gave it away. Philanthropy. What a great man. Go read his story. Learn about him what he did. Amazing man. I wish I knew him better. And the only way I knew him even more,
Starting point is 00:36:18 because he was always on Fox News, he did a lot of interviews with Neil Cavuto throughout the years. And I loved every one of those interviews. A capitalist through and through, believed in the American dream, through and through, that you can be anything you want
Starting point is 00:36:38 be. Just apply yourself, educate yourself, work hard, come up with great ideas, market them correctly. And boom. I think Arthur Blank owns the Atlanta Falcons now, right? I think so. And Ken Langone, what does he have? The Langone Medical Center in New York City? He's another one. I don't miss any of his interviews. These are guys that just believe in hard work and greatness. And boy, oh boy, is it paid off in droves for them, not just in how much money they have made, but how much money they have given away. Go read up about Bernie Marcus. Somebody I would have voted for for president. And by the way, I said that to Steve Forbes the other day on TV.
Starting point is 00:37:34 We ended up with Donald Trump. Yay. Up next, we'll think of something. Thanks for being here. I'm Gary. This is the one only investor's edge. Hi, I'm Dr. J. Goodman. host of Beyond the script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health

A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches. Like I get a stomach ache every time that I eat. And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just, I have a stomach kick every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with.

Starting point is 00:41:09 Action! Ininvestors Edge. With Gary Culpa. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. So be a little repetitious. We still think Trump's winning. But we can definitely be. wrong. It's all about turnout. It's all about turnout. We don't know. We are going by those two
Starting point is 00:42:03 things that we mentioned, but anything's possible. And we really do believe this abortion thing is huge. It's absolutely huge. Even though Trump has come out a thousand times and have said, and we don't really talk abortion here has come out and said we will never we there's not going to be a a knockdown drag out it'll be states and that's that he's a big believer in exceptions i watched a couple of mon tv today just lie about what he said that's how big the abortion thing is it's huge a lot bigger than i thought it would ever be if she loses who's up next Buda Judge for starters
Starting point is 00:43:05 they'll look for young if he loses J.D. Vance I can guarantee you they're going to jump all around J.D. Vance for the debates he did probably DeSantis but he's got to get
Starting point is 00:43:25 either got it or not in front of the camera he's going to have to figure that out if he does lose I'm hoping the Republican Party gets back to presidential. You know what I mean by that, without putting him down, without putting him down. If she loses, I hope that party gets more moderate. Because Joe Biden ended up left of Bernie Sanders, not ended up, is, and she's left of Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:44:16 All her proposals now are a lie. believe everything she has said throughout the years and all her actions, as she says her values have not changed. If he wins, I have one big hope, Elon Musk. As much as the left put him down and turn him in the Antichrist, because he has an opinion, if this guy comes in and does what I think needs to be done, and that is we went from 4.4 trillion to 7 trillion in spending since the year before COVID and just knock out a trillion, which is there, by the way, easily.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Wouldn't affect Social Security anything else. I'm on his team. And time and time again, I have been trying to get a hold of them, and I will. I want to be a part of it. Because if we don't get a hold of the debt and deficits, ladies and gentlemen, listen to me carefully. you think your mortgage rates have gone up where they are now seven wait to their 12 you don't think that can happen we once had 16 or 17 why would we go to much higher to account for the debt that they are taunting us with 487 billion last month brought to you by Biden Harris on purpose to make GDP better, the economy hanging and they're good, four point something trillion since the fiscal responsibility act, that great con, that great scam. A lot of people think that we're not going to know who wins tonight, I do.
Starting point is 00:46:14 I think we'll know. Do I think it can be a big win? Not so sure. Watch Pennsylvania, Georgia, Philadelphia. Tell you a lot. My worries, I just think the lefty antifas are crazy. And if he wins, I think they'll tear down cities, which they have done in the past. And for those of you in Portland, other cities, you know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:47:00 So on to the election we go. I stick with the Ebola virus versus the bubonic plague. I wish we had two others. But we here deal in reality in real time. and we'll keep fingers crossed whoever wins, they do the right thing. Because I can tell you this. The right thing hasn't been done in quite a long, long time. And either the market's going to stop them or they're going to stop them.
Starting point is 00:47:38 The preference is they finally get their act together. I don't have much hope. But back on the markets, very, very, good day today. We don't question why. Love the fact some of the great growth names had a real good day. We'll see if they can follow through. There were not a lot of new highs today, so that tells me there's still some work to be done. Do we get a big gap to the upside if he wins? I don't know. Do we get a big gap to the downside of she wins? Don't know.
Starting point is 00:48:17 And vice versa. We'll be ready for anything. Valuations are high. Warren Buffett is scared out of his wits. And we do have a motto we believe in Warren. And we'll just take it as it comes on a daily basis. If great stocks break out of range on heavy volume and more and more show up, we're going to have more to do.
Starting point is 00:48:45 If they hit the wall, another story. But very good day today. You all have a great evening. I'll be up. Drive carefully when you get home to like we do. Quite simple. Make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children.
