Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Colpom, I'm your host.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Hey, thanks for being with us today. Glad you're here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you are listening. It is November 3rd. It's Thursday. It's 2022. And if I sound like I'm a little, you know, with the throat and stuff, I was in the hospital for a day. As who was it, the Sheldon Cooper refused to go into a hospital in Big Bang Theory because he didn't want to get germs. Anyway, I got a little something or other.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Hey, ladies and gentlemen, I was going to come on this show today and do one hour minus ads of the market. I'm going to do a little bit less because what do they say while the iron is hot? Something to that effect? Give me one moment. First, if you do not get this radio show in your city, we will post it at garyk.com. We'll also post it on our Twitter feed. You know, the one that's owned by Elon Musk now. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:01:47 By the way, nothing's going to change, except they go after both sides now. You can email me, just be nice. No, really. And you should follow me on Twitter also. I'm quite charming and quite sarcastic. You just put my name in at Twitter or press the button at GaryK.com. And that's that. So what am I talking about?
Starting point is 00:02:12 I actually did it. I actually did it. I went to listen to Joe Biden's speech, the president, Joe Biden, let's be respectful, on democracy. And if you don't vote for his party, we're going to lose democracy. That's what he told us last night. No, really, that's what he said. Well, we're here to tell you what the real problems are on losing a democracy and not a bunch of ass clowns, a bunch of morons, and hopefully whoever should be going to jail goes to jail that did what they did on January 6th. or the ass clowner who shot up Steve Scalice, a Bernie Sanders lover,
Starting point is 00:03:15 or this guy who shot up Pelosi, or try to carve up Pelosi, anyone who commits crimes, there should be no bias. But quite interesting with this president into an election, there is. So let your handsome and buffed host tell you If you want to know why we'd be losing our democracy Let me give you the facts And I was corrected on something Joe Biden
Starting point is 00:03:57 Has not been in D.C. For every year he's been at D.C. For four years after, for the Trump White House, he was not in D.C. as a politician. But when he's started. We had 480 billion of debt with 31 trillion now. Joe Biden was there for every year, voting on it every year, except the four years under Trump. So whatever Trump did, I think it's
Starting point is 00:04:28 about $6 trillion. We'll minus that out for Joe Biden. That can kill democracy. Massive debt, massive deficits. Joe Biden, guilty. Donald Trump guilty. Barack Obama guilty, George Bush guilty, Bill Clinton guilty. Bill Clinton not as bad as others. He did get a pass, though, on some things he did with the accounting. What else? Well, let me read something to you here. A man, 29 with 25 arrests and wanted over two other sex attacks
Starting point is 00:05:10 is busted for a 5.30 a.m. rape and robbery of a female jogger after choking her unconscious as she ran along Hudson River in New York City's affluent West Village. His name is Carl Fainer. He's been arrested 25 times and for all kinds of assault and attacks and this, that and the other thing. And he's out. You want to know that what can kill democracy? Letting criminals out. You know, in certain cities, if you go into a store and steal 900,
Starting point is 00:05:46 They can't touch you. But if you steal $9.50, you can be arrested, but then let out quickly. In New York City, I read a story of a guy, 32 arrests let out every time. 32. What can kill democracy? Ass clowns running these cities and counties and states and localities because they care more about. the criminals than the victims.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And you don't need me to tell you how much of that has been going on. What'll kill democracy? Have you read the numbers at the border? Have you read the record numbers at the border that Joe Biden doesn't even talk about or give a crap about? And the media is blacking it out. Remember what the media did with Donald Trump and the border? they raped them over the Coles. And for the children thing, rightfully so.
Starting point is 00:07:03 But you know how many children are being separated right now? A bunch. Media? Not a freaking word. Joe Biden? Not a word. You want to kill democracy? Get rid of the borders.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Joe Biden, guilty. 08.9. They took 800 billion of our tax dollars and gave them to a bunch of fraudulent crooks on Wall Street and we had no say in the matter. No say. You know, we're supposed to have a say, we the people. Now, they just did it.
Starting point is 00:07:46 And do you think they represented us at the time? Fraud, massive fraud? Massive fraud. By the head honcho's top dog Big Cheeses? You know what kills democracy? Letting the head honcho's top dog big cheeses off and giving them our tax dollars to save their arses from all the crime they did, and then they got promoted or went to Washington, D.C.,
Starting point is 00:08:13 or Washington, D.C. went to work with them. You want to know how you killed democracy? Do that more. How do you kill democracy? Let one man. Well, let's call two. Print up the $2,000, $9 trillion, and screw every saver with zero percent interest.
Starting point is 00:08:39 rates when they should be getting three or four percent, letting the lenders and the bankers keep that money, bubbling up asset prices to the moon, making billionaires, double billionaires, and savers with squat, and you create the most wealth inequality, the biggest, widest wealth inequality in the history of the world, because you let one man is whims and another guy. How do you kill democracy? That's how you do it. Has Joe Biden said anything about Jay Powell? No, he re-nominated him. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Killing democracy. Oh, election deniers. Oh, so when Hillary Clinton said Donald Trump was illegitimate president, he didn't really win. Is that election denying? When Stacey Abrams and Georgia continues to say, never said it and then you can play video after video of her saying she won the election it was red when every democrat said trump was illegitimate and really didn't win the election what was that and of course as you know i loathe every one of the peoples that deny trump lost we have no
Starting point is 00:10:15 bias here. We can't stand any of them. But we just wanted to let you know in case you got to watch that farce of a speech on democracy and how we got to save it. Joe Biden is sitting there with the spoon stirring the soup and has been there for what 50 years and is part of the soup and the nonsense. We the people have to save it. the democracy take it away from their hands because they're killing us and they're the ones complaining up next markets whatever else then I make sense I'm Gary this is the one only investors edge hi I'm Gary call bomb hosted a nationally syndicated radio show Investors Edge we're not just handsome radio people we manage investors money for a

If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker distributes it everywhere people listen. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin's swears are the next big thing. Even better, Spreaker helps you monetize your show with ads,
Starting point is 00:13:39 meaning your podcast might someday pay for, well, more microphones. Start your show today at spreeker.com. Sprinker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investor's Edge. The last bastion of quality programming.
Starting point is 00:14:08 With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. And walk once again to Investors Edge. Well, oops. I left one thing out about saving the democracy. You know, Joe Biden's complaining how some are destroying the democracy.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Since the year 2000, just the year 2000, our federal government with the debt has spent in the neighborhood of $75 trillion. We're in blue hell as the money. They said they had to raise taxes for infrastructure, didn't they? Wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:15:14 You spent 75, by the way, I'm being generous with the 75 trillion. You had 75 trillion bucks in your pocket over the last 22 years. Where did it go? How do we have potholes? How do we have homeless? How do we have any poverty? They keep telling us money will fix poverty. Saving the democracy?
Starting point is 00:15:44 Who's killing the democracy? They are. Not us. You know, what we're doing. We're waking up every morning. Working our asses off. To do better for ourselves and our families. To move up in life.
Starting point is 00:16:01 To enjoy life. And what are they doing? Big gigantic headwind. You know, they have this thing called Wonderworks here in Orlando, Florida. It's a great place to take your kids. Simulate an earthquake. as you sit in a booth in San Francisco. But one of the simulations is you're in a hurricane.
Starting point is 00:16:26 The winds of a hurricane. That's what they're doing to us. They're the big headwinds. The headwinds of a hurricane. Yet this guy, our president, respectfully, he's our president, is out there telling us that it's some people that are hurting the democracy.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Yeah. Some people. They take a bunch of ass clowns on January 6th of 21 and try to take that paint brush and paint everybody with it. Everyone. If you vote a certain way, you're in their camp. Oh, really? Last I looked, I was not involved in D.C. By the way, you know I'm not MAGA.
Starting point is 00:17:17 I just had to start this because after five minutes of the president last night, I could have thrown up. You could not differentiate his words with walking in a field where cows graze and stepping on their dung because he spewed a lot of dung onto us. I just gave you a few examples of the real problems in plain sight, hard facts, not taken out a brush and paint. painting everybody with the same brush. Not being desperate because you're going to lose your butt in the next election because you're not very smart. Anyway, if I had the time, I'm sure I can come up with other examples.
Starting point is 00:18:25 I mean, the Knicks haven't won an NBA championship since when. How about that killing democracy? Forgot about that. By the way, he had his little minion, Ron Clayne, his chief assistant. staff out. It was one final warning last night. Yes, we've been warned. A bunch of dumbasses last January 6th decided to be dumb asses and they were all gone to jail for being dumb asses. And that's everybody now. And if you don't vote for them, oh, it's hell in the handbasket. You know, like Al Gore 17 years ago, hey, in 10 years we're doomed. Yes, we're doomed in 10 years.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Earth's 4.5 billion years old, but don't ignore that. And 10 years we're doomed. Oh, by the way, I'm going to start some green energy companies and get grants from the government and become a bazillionaire off of it. Because in grants, you don't have to pay them back. Yippee, yeah, yeah. And that's all I've got. Did I make sense or what? Remember, I'm Mr. Logic.
Starting point is 00:19:41 And I'm reading today here, Trump may announce after the election. his next run for the presidency. I'm going to have to try and convince him to just stick with his golf courses. By the way, his golf courses are the best. His golf course in Scotland is one of the... I can almost state it's the best I've ever played, but there's a couple of places called Royal County Down in Ireland, as well as Royal Port Rush.
Starting point is 00:20:10 that I've got Bally Bunyan I mean Ireland is just you know but Trump's Scotland man oh man that's a good place let's hope he stays there all right
Starting point is 00:20:25 oh yeah yesterday the market dropped 950 points from the highs because something that guy who's killing democracy Jay Powell was out there and as you know I did not watch a word of what he said but I decided
Starting point is 00:20:41 last night, just a couple of things and watch them for a couple of minutes. And no, I did not throw up, but it just put a stamp. We're in big trouble. What have I been telling you? What have we been telling you here since Christmas of 18? That's when we started on him. But we really started pounding on October of 19 and then really went after him with the announcement of $9 trillion of printed money. He's a horror show.
Starting point is 00:21:16 He doesn't know what he's doing. I wouldn't trust him at a lemonade stand. By the way, I say that with no sarcasm. I wouldn't trust him at a lemonade stand. He doesn't have a clue. He doesn't know what's even going on out there in the real world. And I actually think he thinks he still has control. Remember, he had control.
Starting point is 00:21:41 When you print up to $9 trillion and create massive, bubbles, but as we told you at the time, it's not reality because eventually the market is going to have to deal with the real world because, remember what I used to tell you, no, don't ever screw it. Mother Nature, we said don't ever screw with the market's long term. You can get away with it for a while. I think he thinks he is still in control. I think he thinks he's got his finger on the pulse.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I think he thinks he's got game. And let me repeat, I wouldn't let him run a lemonade. You know what? I wouldn't let him serve the lemonade at a lemonade stand for somebody else who owns the lemonade stand. Today's market wrap, up next, much more. This is the one only investor's edge. Starting point is 00:24:50 America is talking. Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Coltbaum. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him.
Starting point is 00:25:14 By the way, do you know, that I have to deal with anti-Semites all the time. Here's an email. I just call it the way I see it. If the Jews were good folks, I would be solidly be on your side. This is what I deal with. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:25:33 It's amazing what's out there. I'm always amazed at anybody who's racist against anybody, race, creed, color, height, weight, gender. I don't understand that. Where'd that come from? They all breathe the same air. Everybody breathes the same air, has red blood. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Amazing. I'm just reading to you an email. Okay. So now that I've started off with the festivities, and I really wasn't going to start that way today. And if you don't think, you know, we get emails every now and then, Gary, come on, you know, do markets. What does that have to do? Too much politics.
Starting point is 00:26:24 What does that have to do with you and your money? If you don't think any of that has to do with you and your money, I am sorry. you kids, I can't help you. Look what's going on around us right now. And remember what I've told you about these parties. I'm really believing. They're cursing each other out in front of the camera and laughing at us behind the camera. With what? Joe Biden's telling us this year, he dropped the deficit big time. Do you know we're going to have a record deficit this year? even though they have record revenues over there. It's amazing to watch the bull crap that is spewed from these people.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Do I have to repeat that? He's out there claiming all this great stuff on the deficit. We're going to have a record deficit this year. His claim is a lie. That he's lowered the deficit record amounts. No, they stopped the spending on COVID. That's all they did. We're going to have a record deficit.
Starting point is 00:27:29 year even though they have record revenues and I'm just waiting for one journalist to say to Joe Biden asked Joe Biden are you smoking the heavy weed because that would be your only excuse for that bull crap I want one person to ask that that way they kind of did it with Trump they gave Trump no quarter on his BS I want one person to be brave they'll lose their job Just one question. You said you lowered child poverty by 50%. How many bongs are you smoking out of President Biden? Anyway, the market wrap is brought to you by Investment-Models.com.
Starting point is 00:28:27 That's Jim Rorback. By the way, I'm really a nice guy. If I had friends, they would tell you. Market wrap brought to you by Investment-Models.com. That's Jim Rorback. One of the great market timers. No gray areas with the man you're either in or out of the market. with his proprietary indicators.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Go check it out. Investment-dashmodels.com. The market opened really bad, rally, drop, rally, drop, and then drop pretty miserably into the close. And what are we telling you before yesterday's reversal? It's been a Dow market. Money flows have been going into the Dow stocks. Today, the NASDAQ was down.
Starting point is 00:29:10 580 Dow points. The equivalent in percentage terms with the Dow only down 146. That's what we mean. Simple as that. Today and the Dow Boeing up nine, they did some conference yesterday, an investor meeting or something, and said something about cash flow and they liked it. It reversed back down when the market got trashed, but right back up nine today. Caterpillar Honeywell and McDonald's have done use-shaped moves.
Starting point is 00:29:44 That's where the money is afloyal. You know where they're not? Apple down another six today. Remember on Friday? They rallied Apple up. First, it was down six in the aftermarket. And then they rallied up like 11 bucks on what I thought. I said to you that day when it was up strong, man, the numbers weren't so good. And neither was the guidance. Right back down. And there's some issues in China. They're shutting down this and that. They're insane over there. Do you know in China, this is a true story. If one person gets COVID. They're like shut down a city. Do you know they kept a ton of people at Shanghai Disney because supposedly somebody had COVID? And you know what they did? Everybody had to pass the test before they can leave. Do you know what also they have in China now? I saw it. They have drones going over cars that have to have one of those code things that says they're negative COVID. I'm serious. You think we're bad here. You know how people complain? Man, oh man. Anyway, Dow down 146. In the Dow, Apple down six. American Express down four.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Home Depot down seven. Disney, two and a half. Microsoft, another six, visa six. Man, these mega-cap tech. S&P 39, NASDAQ 181, NASDAQ 100, 215. Transports are up 106. Advanced declines, blah. I don't know what else to tell you. And it was a bad close. Just so you know, the Dow that at one time today, let me see if I can get this right. 32185. No, I'm going to take that back. It was 31727 at one time today. So it was down. That's 273. 420. I'm rounding it out. At 335, it was up 35. In the final 25 minutes, the Dow dropped 180 points to be down 146. The NASDAQ, which was weak all day, went from 10418 to 10342 by the close. It was down 109 before the drop, down 181. So not a good close.
Starting point is 00:32:24 strength oils and this is weird normally oil stocks go the way of oil prices oil prices have not you have the oil stocks at new yearly highs oil price is not even close I think that has to do with all everything going on I don't know all I can tell you is go look at the new yearly high list you'll see some oils on there still good action and managed care though summer you have some decent action a couple of biotex couple of drug stocks auto parts retailers defense stocks not all you have good earnings reactions uh to a bunch of things remember what I said Honeywell McDonald's IBM even did like a U shape you got
Starting point is 00:33:25 That also, but overall yesterday kind of left the mark. The market tried a bunch of times today, but couldn't. And this big mega-cap stock shift continues. And remember what we've said. I think some of these names in the mega-capland, one you had to own, forever will be the intels and Cisco's of 99. And that's because some there's some bad news going on, but others, you just got too big and you can't grow as much anymore.
Starting point is 00:34:11 And at the highs, you were very overvalued, over-owned, and over-loved. So they take you down. And in the case like in a Facebook, that's a horse of a different color. There's a rule when you're on top of the mountain, be paranoid, always look over your shoulder. I think Mr. Zuckerberg probably became somewhat omnipotent and thought anything he does will work. This meta-crap, talk about somebody I think is smoking the evil weed.
Starting point is 00:34:44 When he came out, when he changed the name, what did we say around this show? What? Huh? Do they not realize who they are? Meta? Yeah, all right. Maybe one day.
Starting point is 00:35:01 and it's getting Google, it's getting Microsoft, Adobe, Qualcomm. Ain't pretty. Up next, this, that, and the other thing, whatever else. This is the one only investors edge. This message is brought to you by the Capital One VentureX card. Starting point is 00:37:03 at spreeker.com. Sprinker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. This message is brought to you by the Capital One VentureX card. Venture X offers the premium benefits you expect, like a $300 annual Capital One travel credit for less than you expect. Starting point is 00:37:33 One Venture X card. What's in your wallet? Terms apply. Lounge access is subject to change. See Capital One.com for details. You're listening to. What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for?
Starting point is 00:37:47 One, two, ready, go. Action! In the Gester's Edge. With Gary Culpa. I'm just reading here that Twitter loses more than a million losers since Elon Musk took over. I got to tell you, I love Twitter. Where else can I see what the dude that runs Iran thinks?
Starting point is 00:38:26 That anti-Semitic piece of crap in what he thinks. That Jew-hating, nauseating piece of crap. Where else can I see what he thinks? It's terrific. Anyway. A lot of jello moving on the plate in the market. Lots of earnings coming out. And you've got to be careful.
Starting point is 00:38:50 because I see some things that are up nicely on earnings, but then you go look at how far down they are. You know, something that goes from 200 down to 20 and opens up at 25. That's a good move. I wish I had it the day before. No, thank you. But you've got to be careful about all that. Big time. Trust below, as they say.
Starting point is 00:39:19 and I must tell you if something's beaten down and just destroyed and still gaps down, that's a big yikes. Like I'm looking at Square right now, they came out with earnings. Closed at 54. I got it at 61. By the way, it's not called Square anymore. It's now called Block. Give me a break. So it's going to be at 61.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Guess what? It was at 62 two days ago. The high was 289. Last November. So always no perspective in the markets. I keep a run of everything that gaps up just in case, you know, you get some sort of turn or maybe something's better. But I can tell you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, Starbucks beat by nine cents.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I'll give it that. And then you have Mercado Libre beats up by only seven cents, misses on revenues. The stock closed at 880, 871. It's 930 in the aftermarket. Of course, way down from the highs. Still way down from the highs. Remember, again, Mui Importante, you know where things come from.
Starting point is 00:40:53 And just so you know what I do every night, every morning early, I go through earnings support during the earnings season. And this week there's just a ton that I got to deal with And what I do is I make up two screens. Everything that gap down big gets on a screen. Why would I do that? I want to know what's getting crushed. And everything that gaps up on the screen.
Starting point is 00:41:17 I want to know what the market likes based on whatever was reported. Then I dig deep into the numbers and I'm like, on some of these names this quarter, why is this stock up? There's a few of them. I look at and say, why is this up? Welcome to the world. Of one of our mottoes. It's not the news.
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's how things react to the news. You never know what the market see or think. You just got to interpret. Interpret. Interpret. Do you know how to spell interpret? I do. So not much more to add.
Starting point is 00:41:57 We're out of another six weeks until the Fed meets again. The problem is they're going to start yapping away. Hopefully the market ignores. I want you to be careful of a couple things. I'm hearing a lot of bulls saying, oh, don't worry, it's seasonality. Oh, the Republicans are going to win the election and that's good. They don't know if that's good for the market.
Starting point is 00:42:21 What if the market doesn't react to that? They don't know. We'll see. One would think it'd be good news to stop the Marxist in his tracks. But you know, these days, executive orders? It's like nothing now. You can snap your fingers and put in an executive order without going to the house.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Look what they did with the student payoff. It's illegal. You know what they're using? Emergency health crap to get that passed. Without even taking a side on it. So who knows what they're going to do with executive orders? It's just going to be fun to see the other side in power because I suspect there's going to be payback on some things,
Starting point is 00:43:10 whether or not there should be payback or not. stating what we think. And that is all. Big picture, simply the big problem is big tech all the way down to small tech lags really badly. And on a day like today, another day, the NASDAQ was down the equivalent of 580 Dow points while the Dow was only down 146. Remember, the Dow was 30 stocks and I want you to remember also the Dow, when the market's ramping normally does not lead, it lags because it's risk on. The NASDAQ leads. When the market dumps, the Dow usually holds up better and the NASDAQ dumps more. Well, on this little rally, which hit a wall yesterday, not the case. And again, today, not the case. I'm not so sure that's great news. Maybe we're in this moment.
Starting point is 00:44:15 now where the market's going to go low beta, what we call stuff, okay. What we will do with you, we'll let you know, just like we're saying in the Dow, you shape on Honeywell, McDonald's, Caterpillar, even IBM, Boeing today on whatever they said, which frankly H&R Block couldn't understand. but they said something about cash flow or something like that. Yay. So we'll stay on top of it.
Starting point is 00:44:53 I'm just letting you know they ain't going to make it easy. And I'm also going to let you know I am not so sure it's great news if they keep coming after these big names that led for so long, even though they were quite overdue not to lead. Tomorrow be on with Cavuto,
Starting point is 00:45:11 Neil, that is, one of my inspirations between the noon and two hour. On Fox Business Network, check that out. And until tomorrow, by the way, did I say thank you to everybody for being so kind? You all have a great evening. Drive carefully. And when you get home, do like we do. It is quite simple. Hug your pets.
Starting point is 00:45:34 Hug your family. Hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. Stay in shape. Alcohol is overrated. and marijuana sucks, but of course they're legalizing because it does suck. Have a great evening, everybody.
