your host. Thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you
are listening. It's Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Hope you having a good day. I didn't have a good day today.
because I had to be up early this morning at 6 a.m.
And you know what happens when you're worried about your alarm not going off to be?
It's something very important early in the morning.
Sleep is tough to come by.
I had one of those nights, but you know what I did?
I hung out with my dog, Winston, in the middle of the night.
Watched, let's see, a honeymooners.
I watched that.
The death of WCW, an hour of that.
And I think I fell asleep at 4 in the morning and woke up at 6.
Yay.
But we're here.
We're hanging.
And we have a few things we're going to be covering today.
We're going to be a little bit different at the outset, but you'll get the point.
And in case you don't know, there's a serious talk on everything that affects you.
We'll do the markets, the economy, jobs, your job, your industry, taxes, tariff,
debt and deficits,
lies,
corruption,
whatever I can think of.
And if you do not get this radio show
in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com.
We'll also post it on our X feed.
And if you don't follow us,
an X, just put our name in.
We'll also post it on podcast apps.
If you like to email me,
just be nice.
Don't be a dufus on social media
and saying that all I care about is money
because I'm a Jew.
Like I'm going to sit there and
have a conversation with you.
And typically if somebody in social media that is not a person,
but what was the one I had a block yesterday?
Something strange or something or other.
We're probably not going to talk to you.
We like talking to people.
Anyway.
So, right out of the box.
If you don't mind, I am taking my little mouse
and running over to my screen,
and I am going to report to you today
that Spotify was down $81 to $621 on their earnings report.
Spotify was already down from $7.85,
and it was about $700 to start the day.
They reported earnings.
It doesn't matter what they reported.
reported it for this segment, but it was down $81 and gave back everything going back to January.
Spotify.
What else do I got for you?
Eli Lilly.
They didn't report earnings, but was down $45 today.
Eli Lilly.
And I must tell you, this is the first time I've even seen Eli Lilly down $45.
So real quickly, I'm going on my little thing of my Bob to see why Eli Lilly was down 45 bucks.
Something about a drug.
I guess the market wasn't happy with it.
But that's besides the point.
Then we have Dillards.
They didn't report, but that was down 30 bucks today to 483.
Then there's PTHL.
That was down $29.30.31.
cents to a $1.65.
Why do I bring this up?
That's another one of those Hong Kong stocks that have no sales that somehow went from
two up to 31 and back to $1.65 in a matter of hours.
But that's not the reason I'm doing this.
And by the way, we're doing this by the seat of our pants as I really just want to do
earnings.
Veracine was down $28 today to $277.
and they announced the secondary, and when we think that's too much of the drop, but okay,
how about can sale capital?
That's insurance, down $22 today.
We told you to avoid insurance stocks in the recent weeks.
Hope you listened.
United Health down $21 today to $261.
On earnings, down 40% year over year.
And amazingly, the stock.
Rocket gone from $606 down to $281 and still is down another $20.
And we'll stop with that one for a second because what do you hear very often from the
minions?
You got to think long term.
Now, if you own United Health and it just went from $606 to 261 since April, what do you think
of that term?
Remember our term.
think long term as long as long as what you are holding is acting well long term
duh how about that for logic so united health and by the way that would be about 130
dow points by the way with the Dow only down 204 points today which is actually pretty damn good
because Boeing was down 10 and that's enough between Boeing and united health that's really the
whole Dow today how about um arthur galliger another insurance stop
Down $21, let me repeat.
We told you to avoid the shirts because it's in a bearish phase.
Remember, we're very good at doing what others do not do,
and that's telling you what to avoid because we have a good eye for what's in a bearish phase.
So there's another one.
How about Facebook meta?
Well, that was down 17 today to 700.
They report tomorrow.
That was not earnings.
I didn't see any news.
Charter Communications.
Well, they reported earnings three days ago.
The stock was 400, closed at 310, and is now 280.
Earnings.
And imagine if you own charter communications that was 422 two weeks ago, and it's 280 today, long term.
United Rentals pull back $17 today, but man, that's had a good run.
Royal Caribbean down 17 to 334.
I'd like to say that's bad, but that's had a good run.
And actually, at one time today was down 31, so I think that actually got defended.
Lithium Motors, what other area do we tell you avoid?
The auto dealers, they've been breaking down badly, down 17 today, about 5.6%.
That was 359, two weeks ago.
It's 289 today.
Think long term.
What else? I'm looking for earnings here.
Novo Nordisk. Wow. Down 22% to 54 bucks.
And if you want to think long term, the stock was in an all-time high last June at 148. It's 54 bucks.
Just letting you know. Aeon. Oh, another insurance stock down 15 today to 3.5.
By the way, I'm doing this by the seat of the pants.
I didn't know what was really going to come up on the downside.
And we're not doing this to let you know the market's in bad shape.
We're letting you know it's earning season and there's a lot of jello moving on the plate.
We're going to go through the ones that are up in a little bit.
Let's see.
I'm going to skip a few here.
Oh, G. Even over down 15, but that's had a good run.
Lenox International.
Here's one.
This one gaped up from 640.
to 690, but closed at 660 the same day. That's earnings and is back to 640 now. So hopefully you didn't
buy that gap. Let's see earnings today on the downside. That's what I'm trying to do here. Okay,
United Parcel. Wow. Down 7% today to 94 in change. United Parcel. United Parcel.
was $233 in 22 February.
It's 90.
Think long term.
So that was another bad day for earnings.
Palo Alto Network's down 10 today.
That was not earnings,
but it's been a weaker stock in tech.
And on a kind of icky day for tech came down,
oh, Brown and Brown, what do they do?
Insurance brokers.
Oh, that was down.
10% today to 91.
It was $125.25 in March.
It's 91 today.
What area did we tell you to avoid?
Insurance.
And I'm just going to go through a few more.
Eco Lab.
What is that?
Sanitizing, cleaning and all that crap for hotels and restaurants.
That was down $10 today on earnings.
Boeing.
Interesting.
Was it 242 today?
242 on the open closed at 226 and down 10 on the day.
What's funny was is it was up early and I saw the CEO interview proud of himself and the company that they lost another dollar in a quarter but they're on their way back.
Anyway, that's sold off at the end of the day.
Okay, no biggie.
Let me see if I find any other earnings I want to talk.
about up next we'll do those and then we're gonna go to the good side we're unbiased

Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script,
the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions
you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter.
In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist,
Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues
we should not accept as normal.
A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches.
Like I get a stomachache every time that I eat.
And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just have a stomachache
every day.
Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy.
And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut,
you should be living with.
So that's when we deep dive.
We deep dive into your medication.
We deep dive into your OTC medication.
And then at that point, we can prove.
probably identify something that we can change.
Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much
more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeartRadio.

You're listening to.
Hey, this promises to be fun.
Investors Edge.
The last bastion of quality programming.
With Gary Coltbaum.
It doesn't get better than this.
By the way, Meta, Facebook was down $16 today.
I was off a little bit.
Let's continue.
That was a sneeze.
Let's see.
That's not earnings.
That's not earnings.
There's a bunch of things that got hit today.
In case you don't know, micro strategy, we've complained to about them, that it's just
the leverage Bitcoin and that if Bitcoin ever goes down, it may go down a lot more.
It broke the 50-day-to-day, but that's another story.
Norfolk Southern's being bought by Union Pacific.
Interesting.
But Union Pacific was down six bucks today, and Norfolk Southern was down.
$9 today, which didn't help the transport today.
It was down $3.75.
Just letting you know, I don't think it's the biggest a deal.
Carrier, air conditioning, down 10.6% today on earnings.
It's now trading where it was a year ago.
Here's one.
Johnson Control's been a very strong stock.
I've actually been jealous that I haven't owned it, even though it's not typically,
for what I delve into.
Down 7.5% today.
Given back the last 7-8 weeks of gains on heavy volume.
I'll do a few more.
Coinbase, that reports in two days.
FedEx is weak.
Okay, okay.
Just going to do a few others while I got you.
Not good day for that one.
How about something called Excellus, biotech?
Down 17% today,
to $36.
It's earnings.
And let me just do a couple of others
that I want to find for you.
Well, Group 1 Automotive got hit on earnings.
Oh, PayPal.
Down 9% today to $71 today.
PayPal's been a very weak stock.
And if anybody's listening from PayPal,
fix your website.
Anything else I need to go over?
I'm just looking at earnings reports.
I don't want to do any others.
We know about Netflix.
It was down another five bucks today.
That had a rough day on earnings when it broke 1250.
It's 1168.
Not the biggest of deals.
And, ooh, how about Ryan Specialty Holdings?
Insurance broker.
Down 9% today.
What did we tell you about insurance?
So imagine if you keep listening to us and we keep telling you what to avoid and you're
always avoiding the bare markets.
how good are you going to be?
Because we've been doing that for you forever.
You do know that.
Here's root R-O-O-T.
Insurance down 4% today.
Okay, we're going to stop with that.
Let's go to the upside.
And you'll see just how wild things are right now.
Wait to you hear some of the upside.
Are you ready?
Okay, AutoZone.
did not report, I'm going to pass that.
How about CyberArc, C-Y-B-R?
I actually think that's a buyout.
So we're going to pass that one by.
Let me make sure of that.
I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere.
And you know what?
Palo Alto Networks is buying CyberArc.
That's why Palo Alto was down.
Look at that.
I figured that out.
Cadence design systems up 10% today to 366.
It hit 326 in November, 325 in January, 324 in May.
3.30 a few weeks ago, boom, right through it today to the upside.
Up $32 to $366.
That was earnings.
How about Com Vault, CVLT, up 18% today to 193 on big volume?
How about Celestica, which has been a strong electronic contract manufacturer, up $28
today to $202?
How about San Mena, S-A-N-M, up 22% today, another electric contract manufacturer to $120?
Dang, huh?
How about Simpson manufacturing, S-S-D, up 10% today?
These are all earnings.
And I'm not going to go through the earnings because some of them stink.
Some of the earnings really stink.
How about Armstrong World Industries?
AWI.
I know that company.
Doesn't trade a lot.
Up 9% today to 184.
That's a new high.
How about CBRE Group?
That's real estate development.
investment management, real estate and all that crap, loan servicing, 8% to 158 to the upside.
How about, uh, now forget that one? I won't talk about crap. How about so no, I'm gonna, that's not earnings.
Rambus, very good earnings. Wow. That was up six and a half bucks to 70 bucks.
Dang. That's a damn good move. By the way, it's a, it's up.
My bad, this is updating.
It's actually up eight and change today.
What else I got for you?
Crane, up 4%.
Waste management.
We've been telling you to void the waste management companies,
but waste management was up 5%,
but is really in the midst of nothingness at this juncture.
But good move today.
I must tell you that.
You catch in my drift?
This is what we have to deal with.
How about Insight Pharmaceuticals?
Biotech, up 10% today to 77 bucks.
How about Gene DX?
Opens up at 105, closes at 91.
What do you do with that one?
A Corning, great move.
Up 10% today to 61 bucks.
Great move in Corning.
So we're just letting you know,
we're just giving you an example of what we deal with come earning season.
It is a game.
It's a guessing game.
That's why I laugh.
If you ever see somebody on the tube come out and say,
we think the earnings at the close today are going to be fantastic and you should buy it now.
Seco International, CECO, up 16% today to 40 bucks.
dang, I'm going to have to go through this a second time.
So just letting you know, wow, wow.
The moves are just wow, both up and down.
I don't know what word to use to describe, but wow, it's a guessing game.
You just don't know.
There's a crap load more earnings to come.
This week is meta, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Visa, MasterCard, a ton more.
We'll keep you up on it.
We'll let you know what areas to still avoid.
What areas may be topping, what areas may be bottoming.
We'll do the same for the markets and sectors and stocks, and you name it, we'll cover it.
Up next, final numbers of the day.
This is the one only investors' edge.

America is talking.
Investors Edge.
He's got to be pleased with that.
The crowd is just on his feet here.
He's a Cinderella boy.
With Gary Colbomb.
It comes highly recommended.
You're going to feel better if you talk to him.
By the way, there's like 80 stocks reporting after the close today.
So I'm looking at Starbucks.
Interesting.
They miss by 15 cents but beat on revenues.
Their global comps are down 2%.
That kind of stinks.
Stock's up three bucks in the aftermarket.
Welcome to my world.
But Visa in the Dow down $8 in the aftermarket.
That's going to be all 50 Dow points.
I'm just going through booking holdings.
That's not good.
closed at almost 5,600, it's 5402 in the aftermarket.
Anything else I want to know about.
Seagate's been strong.
Closed at 152.
It's 140 in the aftermarket.
Again, the jello moving on the plate, and here is what we do with all this.
Listen carefully.
On my screen in front of me is one column
today of symbols,
AWI, AMKR, CBR, C-V-L-T,
CLS, don't worry about the names, I'm making a point.
Well, Corning,
synopsis, which is in sympathy,
waste management,
and what are these?
The strongest reactions.
What else do I have on my screen?
Well, movement.
Spotify's been a strong stock.
Guess what I did.
I moved it to what I would call the,
dugout. It ain't playing anymore. Broke everything. I don't have to think about it, worry about it anymore.
Veracine, another one. Breaks the 50 day-to-day, but that's on a secondary offering. Too big, obviously.
That gets moved, and that's how we keep moving, bad to good, good to bad. And how do we know a market is
getting in trouble or a sector is getting in trouble? It is very simple. We follow things.
and we're in recognition of something that's topping,
or a group that's topping because there's a bunch of them,
or bottoming.
And like right now, let me give you some symbols.
ABG, A-B-G, A-N, G-I, K-M-X, L-A-D, P-A-G, you know what those all are auto dealers.
They are sucking wind, bearish.
I don't have to think about them.
And if all of a sudden we see Bank America, City Group, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, the big regionals gag and start rolling over also, we're going to make note.
And then we're going to look at the semis. You know, it's been strong AMD, Broadcom, NVIDIA, Taiwan semi, the AI stocks that all I see on TV now, they're going up forever.
Oh yeah
You'll never hear us giving targets
We'll never tell you where something's gonna be six months from now
We just hope to get the direction right
And do the best we can
But we are determined
Determined to never be in bare markets
Down trends
Big Tops
And I do in this radio
show and talking to our peeps actually helps because I get to yelp it out.
And we listen back and we go over everything we do.
So we're just letting, you know, dang, a lot of jello moving on the plate.
Quervo in the aftermarket, semi-conductor, close at 84, I got it at 91.
Cool.
And then we'll look at the rest.
Tomorrow, you'll get Harley-Davidson Checkpoint Software Hershey's.
U-Manna, that group the managed care is a nightmare, old Dominion freight, after the close arm holdings, Carvana, eBay, F5 Networks, Lamb Research, Meta, MGM, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Robin Hood, Western Digital, Alibaba, Allstate, Skechers.
Thursday, we're going to get MasterCard,
Robloch, Shake, Shack, Amazon, and Apple after the close Thursday.
Holy crap-a-matic what we got to deal with.
So we're just giving you an idea how we go about this, and it's not easy.
It's work.
It's visual.
It's eyes.
And it's also drowning out all the stupid.
Because whenever we get into a bare market, Wall Street,
will continue to tell you, don't worry, everything's okay. Think long term. And in 22, the average
growth stock drops 60 to 70%. In 08, banks went to zero. I just highlighted for you a few blowups
that are down 50, 60% in some important names like UPS and the like. So I repeat, long term is great.
make sure what you're holding is good long term and it hasn't been easy think about it you had a brutal
late 2018 until j powell worried about the stock market and stopped raising rates you had covid
crash you had powell go into nine trillion of printed money and zero percent rates which skyrocketed the
market you had big inflation which turned into a bare market you had a
another good rally, and then you had the Trump crash.
Gannery, you don't call it the Trump crash.
It was the Trump crash, the Trump tariff crash, which the good news is they learned,
I gather that weekend they were crapping in their pants.
And that's why they were doing the pause on Monday, which they couldn't do because it was
leaked, so they did it on Wednesday.
And we'll see how that plays out over time.
Shall be interesting.
So the Dow was down 204, but not a biggie.
Why?
Because United Health, which is in a death drop, I shouldn't use that.
There was a guy murdered from United Health.
That's in a big drop, down 21 and Boeing down 10, and that's kind of been strong.
That's your whole Dow today.
Now, you had other weakness, Apple, just a weak stock Apple going into Thursday's earnings.
By the way, they announced a flip phone.
and supposedly it's going to be two grand?
Supposedly.
Are any of you going to buy a flip phone?
Say flip phone 10 times fast.
Who's going to, am I?
I'm not buying a flip phone?
Are you?
I'd love to know if you would be buying a flip phone.
Anyway, Apple is just weak stuff.
By the way, it's a 26 relative strength on a scale of zero to 100 on my screen.
S&P down 18, NASDAQ down 80, NASDAQ 100 down 47.
You had some reversals today,
and Vida finally finished down, but that's normal.
AMD was up eight or nine, finished up 380,
Broadcom was up six or seven, finished up two,
but that's normal.
I don't call that a big deal at all.
But Google's starting act better.
That gapped up on earnings, but failed,
but we just thought it was extended.
We'll see how it goes.
That's all.
Just a pull back in a bunch of things today.
But earnings wise, damn.
Got to keep your head on a swivel, ladies and gentlemen.
What else?
Interest rates plunged today.
Interest rates plunged today.
That was interesting.
Fed tomorrow.
Ten-year yield.
like now there's a chance it's heading back to 4-2.
Closed at 433 today.
We love if interest rates go down in the real free market.
Not Jay Powell, the 10-year.
Oil prices, as we said, was up 270 today because of this Russia news.
The President Trump is threatening them about Ukraine.
I don't know how that plays out.
We don't want to see oil prices or interest rates go high or simple as that.
Gold bounced a little bit today, but leave no doubt.
Gold remains.
Let's see.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourth,
fifteenth week of range.
And by the way, we just bought a little and stopped out very quickly.
Gold.
And that's a little bit of this, that, and the other thing.
The advanced declines on the NASDAQ were terrible today.
On the New York, we're flat.
NASDAQ advanced the clients were terrible today.
But not a biggie.
There is another area I wonder about now, though.
A lot of the restaurants, I'd be careful about them.
Not all.
Just another area.
Up next, we'll figure it out.
I'm Gary.
This is the one only investor's edge.

oh, yeah, you know, I just, I have a stomach kick every day.
Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy.
And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with.
So that's when we deep dive.
We deep dive into your medication.
We deep dive into your OTC medication.
And then at that point, we can probably identify something that we can change.
Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script,

You're listening to... What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for?
One, two, ready, go.
In the Gester's Edge with Gary Culper.
Well, in the news, a piece of crap scumbag murdered some people in Midtown, New York,
a security guard dead, a colleague of Black Rock dead.
I'm looking at this woman's resume.
Wow.
What a waste of a great life this woman was.
Names Wesley Lepatner.
You ever see the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore?
One Can Only Hope.
Remember when the criminal died, the bad guy,
and out of the ground come these black shadows
and grab them by the neck and take them down to hell.
One can only wish that was real for people like this man who woke up and said,
I'm going to drive from Vegas and murder some people that I don't know.
Anyway, just so you know, my son works in Midtown Manhattan
and on the same street but not Avenue as this.
boy, as soon as we saw this, we're on the phone.
He works on a different avenue than the Black Rock.
And it turns out this scumbag was going after the NFL.
And he went in the wrong elevator.
Scumbags are also stupid.
Too bad he shot himself.
Hopefully he bled out for 10 minutes and felt the pain.
Is that being mean?
Is that being mean? I don't think so. He destroyed lives for no reason. No reason whatsoever. I've never understood. And that's a little bit of the bad news today. In other news, we're hearing that the president is now trying to get China to the table. We'll see. As I said to you, the
deal with the European Union and Japan definitely less than meets the eye, but anything to take
tariffs off of the table. The EU came out and said, just so you know, the president came out and said
it's the biggest deal ever, and the EU came out and said it's aspirational. I'm not making this up.
Said the same thing about Japan, going to spend 600 billion here, 550 billion. Japan comes out and
say no. It'll be loans and you're going to pay us interest on the loans. So I don't know.
But let me repeat. Let me repeat. If it takes those big tariffs off the table, I am a happy camper.
I know you're seeing people that defend Trump no matter what giving him cover on the tariffs.
We will not.
We give him cover on the changing of the tariffs.
I heard Bill Mayer, you know who he is, Ma, or whatever.
He's on HBO.
I don't watch him.
But people watch him, and he came out and said, I was wrong.
The tariffs didn't hurt anybody.
Yeah, they did.
Those initial tariffs would have crushed the economy.
He was crashing the markets.
Not until they change it up.
This is what I hate about some famous people that will tell you
something that just isn't true and people take it for the gospel.
Do you know if the president put back those tariffs today,
but ones before the pause?
I'm going to see the Dow down 5,000, 10,000 points before you can blink.
Do you know Amazon stopped shipping, car dealers stop shipping,
the port stopped shipping because they had no clue?
The sneaker and shoe companies were like,
we're going to go out of business.
I think the tariff on Vietnam was
near like 100%.
And we're finding out,
I didn't know this, that our sneakers,
like 90% of them come from Vietnam.
But again, we give it,
you know what greatness comes from?
Learning from your successes,
but more importantly,
learning from your mistakes and changing it up,
they did that.
That's the great news.
I give them big credit.
Over the weekend,
they were probably having fits.
They were going to do that pause on Monday of all the big tariffs,
but they couldn't because of the leak.
So they did it on Wednesday.
And since them, slowly but surely the tariffs go away to the world.
Will we be a 10% or something?
But even with the 10, 15%, exemptions up the wazoo.
Apple got a 100% exemption.
You think that's small?
So just let you know, be careful.
Bill Maher. You're an idiot. You're wrong. You were right in the first place, dummy.
Those big tariffs would have destroyed the economy here and around the globe.
They're a huge tax. And now, unfortunately, we're getting, oh, they're great because it's raising dollars.
I got Newsfea. It's raising dollars from us. For the most part, I will applaud the president.
If in a year from now, they keep bringing in $20 billion a month from the tariffs,
and it does not affect the economy, I'll applaud them because you knock down the deficit a little bit.
Terrific.
Terrific.
And then he comes out and says, maybe we'll have some world tariffs.
Oh, great.
Anyway, you know where we stand.
Big time, we stand.
in other news
the Yuts who is running for mayor of New York City
who once said that the police of New York City were racist
and should be defunded
thank them for how they handled
the murder in New York City yesterday
ain't that grand
we'll end on that note
hopefully we helped you out a little bit today
we'll keep working hard
you have a great evening drive carefully
and when you get home, do like we do, it's quite simple.
Make sure you hug your family.
Make sure you hug your children.
They will feel better.
You will feel better.
I promise.
And if you're in one of these cities of 100, 105 degree weather, just take care.
Don't be silly.
It's hot.
Until tomorrow, have a great one, everybody.
Good night.
