Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host.
Starting point is 00:00:44 A thanks of being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It is the end of the month, February 29th. Yes, 2024. I hope you're having a good day. This is a show about everything that affects you. Everything.
Starting point is 00:01:03 And in a moment, we're going to start off and do a little dissertation on immigration. And we will connect it to you. But if you do not get this radio show and your city, we'll post it at garyk.com. We'll post it on our Twitter feed, which is now X. And if you don't follow us on X, you really should just put our name in. And you should, if you ever want to email us, just we ask you to be nice. And we'll leave it at that. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:01:32 In a few minutes we'll go through the market and boy, oh boy, how do I put this best? Our wheelhouse? Our wheelhouse? Just a wow. That's all I can say. We'll go into that in a little bit. Okay. Immigration.
Starting point is 00:02:15 You know, the open borders clowns always say, oh, you're racist if you want to close the border or do something about it. They have absolutely no credibility whatsoever. For the past three years, Joe Biden has destroyed our borders. Destroyed it. Absolutely destroyed it. Go look at the numbers. Don't believe me.
Starting point is 00:02:53 their gargantuan to the upside. It was done on purpose. He got rid of some of the most, remember what I say here, I am Mr. Logic. He got rid of the most logical, the most logical laws, regs that keep things at least
Starting point is 00:03:24 under control. For three years, they have been saying, the board is secure, looking straight into the camera and lying to you. And we all know we're told all politicians lie, but some are a lot bigger than others. And we don't pull any punches.
Starting point is 00:03:47 We thought Donald Trump was the greatest liar of all time. We think he's number two now. And what's happened, is unfortunately, the media refuses to do their job. I woke up this morning and NBC was doing the immigration thing, blaming it on the Republicans, that the Republicans did not sign off on some sort of deal in the last couple of weeks. I have been telling you for months they would bring up immigration.
Starting point is 00:04:32 and never say the name Joe Biden. It was always we got to protect this guy's arse and somehow it's somebody else's fault.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Under Trump, he made some brutal mistakes. He did. There were kids in cages. The media ran with it 24-7 calling him every name in the book. under Joe Biden
Starting point is 00:05:06 kids are in cages they don't report it there were deaths under Trump of people trying to get through they were calling Trump a murderer there have been many deaths
Starting point is 00:05:29 under Joe Biden they don't say a freaking word about it little kids dying drowning little kids in the back of trucks dying of heat moms elderly you name it they don't report it
Starting point is 00:05:49 and this morning they blame it on the Republicans this morning Joe Biden's going to the border today to save the day imagine a hit and run driver runs you over
Starting point is 00:06:08 leaves you injured and then comes to visit you in the hospital the next day. The nerve and the only reasons he's at the border, Joe Biden, today, is because his poll numbers are way below root canal and jock itch on immigration, which is now bubbled up amazingly to the number one poll. reason on the election. It's always been the economy. Immigration has bubbled up to number one. Do you know why it's bubbled up to number one? Because of what Joe Biden has done to the border. And here's the issue. The amount of money being spent on these people. The amount of places being taken away from Americans.
Starting point is 00:07:21 of courts, homeless shelters, shelters, shelters, the freebies that are being handed out. I can't even begin to tell you. And then the amount
Starting point is 00:07:37 of people here, their cities, the big cities are cursing Biden out. That they can't handle it. The sanctuary cities. You see, I am one that applaud Texas from busing them out of Texas to these sanctuary cities to show them, here you go,
Starting point is 00:08:10 and they're complaining about Texas. It's amazing to watch the illogical. As you know, I have been saying to you that I feel like we're voting for the bubonic plague versus the Ebola virus. But we need one or the other. I can't stand either. I want two different people. But I have to tell you, based on this one very important subject, I go Trump. And believe me, that's a tough thing to say for me. There was a woman murdered in Georgia by an illegal. There have been a bunch of others. that were low-reported. AP, another miserable, miserable journalistic hackery, does a whole article on the murder saying,
Starting point is 00:09:12 you should not be jogging alone. Not that an illegal was here and should not have been here or should have been in jail because he did other things before. the incestuous relationship between the media and a certain group just sickens me. And not until it hits home and hits somebody's family, will they ever change? And he visited the border today. Just a political photo op.
Starting point is 00:09:55 And as much as I can't stand the guy, let's add. a little whipped cream on top. Nothing personal. Never met him. This is purely business. Unbelievable, he's there. Unbelievable, the media. Unbelievable, the death. And the BS.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I have very good friends that came here legally. Got their green cards. Became citizens. Years. Sweat. Toil. Tears. Money. Attorneys. You're given those people. Everyone who came here legally, one big, gigantic, fat middle finger brought to you by. Joe, I want an open border Biden. and let's be clear about this. All done on purpose. That's how we start the show today. Up next.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Oh, we got a ton today. I wish we had two hours. I'm Gary. This is the one only Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Gary Kalbaum, hosted a nationally syndicated radio show Investors Edge. We're not just handsome radio people. We manage investors' money for a living,

Hi, I'm Dr. Jay Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the
Starting point is 00:12:44 pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches. Like I get a stomach ache every time that I eat and it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh yeah, you know, I just, I have a stomachache every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy and all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive. We deep dive into your medication. We deep dive into your OTC medication. And then at that point, we can probably identify something that we can change.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeartRadio. Listen now wherever you get your podcasts. Here's a quick podcast for all you true crime fans. The case of the missing Reese's. It was me at the store with my mouth. Motive? Um, they're Reese's. What was that going to do?
Starting point is 00:13:58 Stop myself. Tune in next time to see if I do it again. Spoiler, I will. Wow, that had everything. Rees, suspense, reeses. Cash flow crunch. OnDEC's small business line of credit gives your business immediate access to funds up to $200,000 right when you need it.

Starting point is 00:14:47 It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. As you can tell, I'm a little hot.
Starting point is 00:15:13 I almost feel bad for Donald Trump. I almost feel bad for the guy. I saw some lefties ripping him today. how he only built a certain amount of wall. That's because they wouldn't let him. And he tried. And tried. And tried.
Starting point is 00:15:50 I repeat my stance. Come one, come all. We want you. We need you. Come here. Educate yourself. Get away from the crap holes you live in.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And let me be clear. Venezuela sucks run by a dictator, sleazebag, and some other places in South America turning the same. Come here, educate, be great. Do it a different way. And the only way it can be a different way is the people in power doing their freaking job, which number one is protecting and defending the citizenry.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Do you know what that means gotaways? They say it flippantly when they're asked on TV. When they ask Majorcas, the head of Homeland Security, what about the gottaways? Well, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, do you know what a gotaway is? It's somebody coming into this country that is now gone. We do not know where they are and we know nothing about them. Do you know how many there are? they don't know how many there are
Starting point is 00:17:25 catching my drift yes I did say on this subject give me give me Trump big time if only Donald Trump can get the demeanor of Reagan and just back away from some
Starting point is 00:17:58 oh god some of the crap that comes out of his mouth oh and some of his policies just sicken me but as I said the Ebola virus versus the bubonic plague, and I think the Ebola virus is probably better. I take that back.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Is better. We can't have another four years of this out-of-control president on debt deficits, horrible foreign policy in the border. Cannot have it. That's my take from Mr. Logic. Hopefully my buddy in Texas, the J-Man, is applauding today. Big Trump guy. All right. How do I describe this? Let me do it this way.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Advanced micro devices up 16 today to 192.5, volume 40% better than average. Microsoft, up six today to 413 in change, better than average volume. Facebook, up 6 in change. Volume not great, but beautiful looking flat setup after a huge gap to the ups on. Amazon up three and a half today, up 2% new yearly high. NVIDIA finishes up 17 today. Actually, what's interesting on NVIDIA, I don't know what happened near the close, but it dropped like $7 in 30 seconds, but was still up $16 today and is sitting nice and tight
Starting point is 00:19:50 after a great gap, and as you know, Nvidia's near 800. We bought it right at 500. The Semiconductor Index, up 124 today to another high. And I was actually hoping it would wait around for a while. It didn't today. And something else happened at the end of the day, and I don't see the news yet. There's got to be something going on. Microsoft, which is a low-beta mega-cap tech,
Starting point is 00:20:29 jumped on huge volume in the final 10 minutes. to get that move. And I don't see any news from that, but something gave. What does this all have in common? Leaders be leading. And I bring that up because, man, I'm hearing a lot of this. Tech, too much, too far, too expensive, too big of a percentage of the market. The magnificent seven, the fabulous first,
Starting point is 00:21:09 this, that, and the other thing. Go elsewhere, other areas, other this, other that, get this, get that. Leaders be leading. And I just want to let you know. Leaders be leading. I must tell you, I had a little four rate, recently, I bought Goldman Sachs.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Small position. I stopped out in two days. it dropped it tucked its head in like a frightened turtle and I just at the end of the day I sit down I get out my little book
Starting point is 00:21:53 my little at a glance that I pay 30 bucks for every year and I started writing down notes and I wrote the note down why the hell did you buy Goldman Sachs when you have all these technology stocks and you have others you can be following and then I answered it
Starting point is 00:22:12 pretty good because there have been some other names that I didn't buy outside of tech that have done pretty well. General Electric, for example. But when all is said and done, leaders be leading. And that's what I'm thinking about most. And this weekend I'm flying up to Raleigh, North Carolina to see my goddaughters. By the way, I've had a real scratchy throat and stuff. You know how weird life is?
Starting point is 00:22:42 I got a real scratchy throat, I've been feeling whatever. I did a COVID test. That's the new thing. Yeah, just do a COVID test. I was negative. But what I'm going to do, my flight's not until 9.30 tomorrow night. As soon as radio's over, I'm spending the whole time going back to previous bull markets and technology. And I've already started a little bit.
Starting point is 00:23:08 And you know what I'm realizing? They can just keep going for quite a while. They can just keep going for quite a while. And I've already done a little drop down on 1999. Up next. Oh, I'm going to explain that one too. I'm Gary. This is the one that only investor's edge.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health. with CVS pharmacist Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating,
Starting point is 00:24:16 chronic stomach aches. Like I get a stomach ache every time that I eat, and it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just, I have a stomachache every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that, generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive.
Starting point is 00:24:35 We deep dive into your medication. We deep dive into your OTC medication. And then at that point, we can probably identify something that we can change. Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeart Radio. Listen now wherever you get your podcasts. Reese's peanut butter cups, they go perfectly with music. Podcasts. And welcome back to the show.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Even nature sounds. Oh, and the thing where someone crinkles tissue and whispers at you. Hello. Look, I'm not here to judge what you listen to. I'm here to judge you for not eating Reese's while you listen to it. Reeses. Ashley, go back to the nature sounds. Nice.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Yeah, that's really nice. On Deck is built to back small businesses like yours. Whether you're buying equipment, expanding your team, or bridging cash flow gaps, On Dex loans up to $400,000 make it happen fast. Rated A-plus by the Better Business Bureau and earning thousands of five-star trust pilot reviews, On-Dec delivers funding you can count on. Apply in minutes at OnDec.com. Depending on certain loan attributes, your business loan may be issued by On-Dec or Celtic Bank.
Starting point is 00:25:53 On-Dec does not lend in North Dakota all loans and amounts subject to lender approval. We're listening to... America is talking. Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on its feet. Here, he's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbub.
Starting point is 00:26:14 It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. So as I was saying, I really looked over 99 today. And the last couple of weeks, we ain't even close, not even in vicinity of what went on in 99. not even on the same planet as 1999.
Starting point is 00:26:50 So let's hope. That's all I can ask. Because I got news for you. Right now we're up about 60% on NVIDIA. This is not a prediction. But I'm just letting you know, as we have told you, some of the last things we bought in 1999. We're up fivefold in a year.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Boy would we take that. So to repeat, some really good moves in that stuff. Some really good moves in that stuff. And I was looking for news to see it. Like advanced microdevices just psh. And I'm looking, any news, any news, no. Just a great-looking setup and a bust out above range and volume kicked in. And that's the roadmap.
Starting point is 00:28:00 That's what we look for. Leaders be leading. Same group. It's a reason why we don't own any gold miners. Lagards be lagging. It's the same reason we haven't owned China stocks for the last year, even though a little bit better recently. Laggards be lagging.
Starting point is 00:28:34 It's a reason why we were out of the market of most of the 22. Bare markets be bare markets. It's a reason why we're out of most everything from July to end of October. Bare markets be bare markets. Down trends be downtrends. So just let you know, I'm surprised about today. I was actually hoping, let's have some more time. Let's have some more time. Let's sit a little bit longer. They weren't waiting. Not today. Tomorrow be another day. And that's the story of the market. The Dow was only up 47. The NASDAQ, though, was up 144.
Starting point is 00:29:27 But I will tell you, the NASDA, it was so weird at the close today, the NASDAQ in less than a minute dropped 30 points. And that was the Nvidia drop and some, a couple other things. I don't know it was a fat. Sometimes they have this thing called a fat finger in my business where somebody presses a button and presses it wrong. could have been that. But just so you know, it's not just tech.
Starting point is 00:30:00 You do know that. J.P. Morgan's at a new high. For instance, Chipotle is strong on its earnings. Texas Roadhouse and Wingstop. Two other restaurants, strong. Lenar, looks like it may be breaking out of range today. Try to two weeks ago and failed. Let's see if they do it.
Starting point is 00:30:30 it today or actually tomorrow. KB. Homes did also. But on the other end, there are a few home builders that act like crap. So you've got to separate. And there's a reason why we don't own tobacco stocks. Bare markets be bare markets. So just a wow type of day. We own some Amazon. We've been worried about it. Come on. You gaped up. Why aren't you doing anything? Looks like they were lighten some fuses today, and let's hope it goes. And we'll see what tomorrow brings. That's the story. Yields were down a little bit today.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Whoopi-Doo. They came out with inflation number, fine and dandy. They came out with a manufacturing number. It stunk. I don't care. They're still talking about the Fed. I don't care. The Fed is overrated.
Starting point is 00:31:32 It does not matter. And even when I go on TV to explain, I don't think that. The Fed matters. They just like talking the Fed. Again, we don't think they matter at all. The free markets have taken over and that's what we love. Free markets.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Give me free markets. The Fed only mattered when they're printing to $9 trillion and distorted the world and screwed every saver. Now, they're not even on. the playing field. And now I'm watching aftermarket Dell. Close at 95. It's 110.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Auto desk. Close at 258. It's 275. Network appliance. Closed at 89. It's 101. Of course, on the other end, something called Elastic. It's computers. Closed at 133.
Starting point is 00:32:42 It's 119. And Z scale. Close at 241. It's 229. So few good. you bad, guess what? We'll avoid the bad. We shall accentuate the good. And as always, close our eyes, hold our nose and pray. No, we've tried it. Does not work. Most important part of the equation again, the semiconductors and Fuego again today,
Starting point is 00:33:13 led by advanced micro devices and Nvidia, AI. And in case you don't know, there's been a lot of people talking down the AI. And that's okay. Maybe they're going to be right. Right now, the markets saying otherwise. And who are we going to listen to? Opinions of people or the market itself. Easy question to answer.
Starting point is 00:33:52 and that's how we roll. How long this lasts and how far it goes, I don't know. Eventually, we will have a bare market of consequence, just like we had in 22, that we got out of the way of and we'll be ready for it. I was asked by Stuart Varney today, do I think there's one close? And we said on a scale of 1 to 10, it's a zero right now. overall why because bare markets do not happen
Starting point is 00:34:31 in a flash they happen over time you first have to see topping out and I can promise you if AMD breaks into new high ground today Amazon breaks into new high ground today Facebook and Nvidia ready to do it again semiconductors new high ground
Starting point is 00:34:54 there's zero chance if they start a process of topping out, we'll know it, we'll identify it, because we've studied it. But don't worry, you can't time the market. Just let you know, that's what they tell us. You can't time the market. I got two words for them. Crypto today. Well, we can tell you two things.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Hell if I know. That's my answer. I can tell you they sold them down from the highs early, but they trade overnight. Who the hell knows what's going to happen overnight? I don't. Not a clue. They're in uptrends. They've gone vertical the last few days.
Starting point is 00:35:59 I'm getting a few too many inquiries about it, which takes me to my complaint. I was reading today that Bank America and Wells Fargo are going to market Bitcoin ETFs to their wealthy clients. This is in addition to others that announced that in the last few days. Oh, really? You're going to market something that just went from $20,000 to $60,000 that has no earnings, no sales, nothing. up next. We'll expound. Thanks for being here. I'm Gary. This is the one only investor's edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. Starting point is 00:39:23 Action! In the Bester's Edge. with Gary Culper. By the way, I'm just looking at some of the way these stocks finished today. Wow. Could be more moves to the upside, kids. Back on Crypto. So imagine you're now going to market to your clients an inanimate object that's gone from 20,000 to 60,000,
Starting point is 00:40:17 in the last whatever, after going from 60,000 down to 15. thousand. Now I'm going to give them their due. I bet you there's a demand for it. I'm getting calls. I bet you they're getting a bunch. But what if it goes back to 15,000? You know, it could. We're not predicting that. It just doesn't taste right that now they're going to market the ETFs. but I guess where there's, as we always say, and where there's demand you supply, right? In the news, I don't know if you know it, but there's a new minimum wage in California
Starting point is 00:41:18 by the Marxist there on hourly, you know, at the fast food, whatever, and it turns out we're finding out that Panera is excluded. They're exempt. They don't. We've found out that Panera, the CEO is friends with the governor, and we have found out that they donated to Governor Newsom.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Interesting. But don't worry, there's nothing there. Just letting you know. There's nothing there. That's in the news. and as I have said for many a time, keep raising the minimum wage and we will show you a lot of people getting fired. There's this one bozo that I forgot who, one of the squad Marxists wants a $50 minimum wage, which basically everybody's out of business.
Starting point is 00:42:28 it is an insane asylum, ladies and gentlemen. In the news, by the way, I think we covered the market's pretty damn good. It looks like they're after resting a bit, some of these names. In the news, getting back to the media, and we bring this up because these are the people running the country. As you know, we believe that this president is corrupt as can be. Here's what we're finding out. This Hunter Biden, who's, I've never met him, but he's an influence peddling, corrupt piece of crap,
Starting point is 00:43:11 money grubbing, actually the whole family. So in case you don't know, there was a phone call where he's stating to a Chinese entity, I'm sitting here with my father right now. and it was a shakedown for money, $5 million. Interesting. He says he was high or drunk at the time, and his father wasn't there.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Though $5.1 million was transferred into Biden family-linked accounts. Don't worry. evidence. Do you get where I'm going? They're trying to tell you, as usual, what you are seeing is not true, what your hearing is not true, what you're reading is not true. Don't believe your eyes. This is what we're dealing with. I bring this up because the media has given this creep a pass and is not even investigating whether Joe Biden was there or not. he's innocent you're catching my drift
Starting point is 00:44:51 you're feeling me you see where I'm going with this it's unbelievable to watch you know I think if I'm Trump I'd be pissed off too as I have told you that 400 million dollars they're trying to find him is a bunch of crap
Starting point is 00:45:23 BS if they found him guilty it was one judge thing it would have been a $10 million fine. They're just trying to ruin the guy. I think I get it. And again, I can't stand the guy. And why am I bringing this up?
Starting point is 00:45:43 If they're going to do it to him, why not you? There were some very big business people out today saying they're really worried about New York. They're like, what? How much? Why would I want to do business? in New York if they can just do this wasn't a jury trial by the way it was one man's one man and the attorney general whatever who said she was after him before there was even anything
Starting point is 00:46:18 these are the people that are run in the country these are the people that are run in the country 34 trillion of debt running the country 2.7 trillion added to our debt running the country in the last year. Handouts and giveaways to buy votes running the country. Doesn't sound like the USA, does it? We're going to keep covering it. Logically, factually, without bias. In the end, it will matter.
