Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host day.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's Monday, November 21st. And before we even get going, it's Thanksgiving week, just in case we forget. in all this excitement. We want to wish everybody a healthy and happy Thanksgiving week.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Hope you and your families are able to get together. Enjoy the holiday. We know about the news. We know what's going on. We cover it here on a daily basis without pulling any punches. Sometimes it's hard to be thankful for what you have. There's so many cliches. We hope you're all able to be thankful for what you have and not what you don't have.
Starting point is 00:01:46 And we wish everybody the best, the best, the best of everything. I'm back on U.S. soil. Flew in yesterday. Picked up Winston. Wednesday, I fly back to New York to spend Thanksgiving with the family until Sunday. Then I come back. for quite a while. So in case you don't know, I took one of my sons, younger sons, Eric.
Starting point is 00:02:16 We went to Normandy, Paris, and ended up in Rome. I've been to Rome in Paris a few times. Paris is great. Rome is exceptional. I absolutely love the city. I can't get enough of it. I will tell you, we walk 32 miles in three days while we were there. I eat very healthy, but I must tell you I had enough pasta and pizza in those three days to last the next year.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Probably will be my next year. But I want to bring up Normandy. I went on tour with somebody named of Dale Booth, B-O-O-T-H. If you ever in Normandy and want a great private tour, check the man out. So you can just Google Dale Booth. And it's the second time I've done a tour there. And the first tour I did was excellent. This one took it up a few notches because this man knows stories on top of stories.
Starting point is 00:03:23 And I'm going to give you one to look up. Robert Wright and Kenneth Moore. Look up those two people at the church at Angoville-Aplan. N-G-O-V-I-L-E-D-U-L-A-N. Go look up that story. When he was telling us the story while we're in the church, it's one of those jaw-dropping moments. And if you haven't been there, first off, one thing I did not know, saving Private Ryan from the beach to get to where they need to be. It's like a few minutes in the movie.
Starting point is 00:04:06 It took hours upon hours for that to happen. So they kind of sped it up. And I've already, from my first trip, spent time learning, I'm going to triple that. To think what our great Americans had to do, knowing what they were going to do, and they did. Incredible. hundred foot cliffs they had to climb up for starters anyway go check it out it was fantastic had a blast uh Paris my favorite place is Montmart in Paris I love it up there I think it's up there we did the Eiffel Tower up to the top and I will tell you it was windy and rainy that was a blast
Starting point is 00:04:59 we did all everything but Rome is just ah Walking the corridors and the small streets. Fantastic. When I was in Spain a few months ago, many people recognize me. Only one person recognized me on this whole trip. And that's that. Look up the Robert Wright and Kenneth Moore. So here's the way I want to start the show.
Starting point is 00:05:32 And it's a takeoff of what we've been doing, and we'll keep yelling and screaming. The E.T.H.E. Ethereum was 4740 at the highs just last November. It's $6.14. Bitcoin. The highs, you had one at 58, 22 in February of 21. Then you hit 55 in November of 21. It's $8.34. cents. Coinbase is now $41.31. It was a $250 IPO. The day that opened, there was a spread of 310 up to 429, closed at 342. That day on this show, I said to you, this thing is going to be 50 bucks or less. It's 41. Micro Strategy has now gone from 1315 down to 15,000,
Starting point is 00:06:38 the people that were lauded, lauded, paraded in front of you, was paraded on Capitol Hill, were nothing but a bunch of frickin crooks. Now, not all of them are crooks, you know that. There are people that really believed. But you know when they became bad? In the last nine months. As they were losing more and more money, they were telling you buy, buy and buy. And they were telling you, there was this one schmuck last week saying, oh, Bitcoin's gone 100,000 plus.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Bitcoin closed at 15,806. The high was 64,400. I'm giving you the regular price. That piece of crap dogey coin is 7 cents. I don't even know why it's there. down from 70 Ethereum hit a high of
Starting point is 00:08:04 1105 excuse me my bad hit a high of I don't know why it's like oh now I know why of 4644 it's 1105 my line my quote
Starting point is 00:08:26 that 90% of the coins would drop 90% or more with most going to zero has come to fruition. We also told you even the stalwarts, Ethereum and Bitcoin, will be part of the nightmare. We said the only thing holding them up was there were select few people owning a ton of it
Starting point is 00:08:48 and they couldn't sell because they kill each other. Well, now they're forced to sell. We're finding a slew of goblins that were involved in this. Some very smart people state reputations on this. They have none left. They were part of the problem. Buying in late in the game, trying to talk you into buying into a bubble.
Starting point is 00:09:19 While we logically just said to each and every one of you, please go read the book Extraordinary Popular Delusions in the Manness of Crowds, and you will understand this is nothing but a bunch of crap. And I want you to remember the mucky mum. the celebrities, the athletes. I want you to remember that. How they pushed it and pushed it. Certain people on financial television
Starting point is 00:09:53 pushed it and pushed it. While we're telling you again, go read extraordinary popular delusions of the madness of crowd. It's just a freaking bubble. People will go to jail. Unfortunately, a lot of people that are that should go to jail, will not. They're in Bali right now, no extradition.
Starting point is 00:10:17 They're pretty smart, I guess. They're schmucked down in Bahamas. Somebody need to kick him in the grapefruits with steel-toed boots until he's singing soprano, then indict him and put him in jail. And his girlfriend, too. We hope you listened. And no matter where you are or what you did,
Starting point is 00:10:46 use this as a lesson going forward. They did it with the short squeeze stocks, the marijuana stocks, the 3D stocks, the electric vehicle stocks, the SPACs. Up next, a bunch more. I'm Gary. This is the one only Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Gary Kalbaum, hosted a nationally syndicated radio show Investors Edge. We're not just handsome radio people.

Starting point is 00:13:41 You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. And by the way, we nailed this whole thing. We still get no press. They're saying FTX is probably the biggest fraud in history. We'll find out soon enough. We can't impress upon you enough. We can't talk about this enough. Smart people got caught up in the word greed.
Starting point is 00:14:29 And for them to sit there and say, oh, coins are the way of the future. I got two words. Up yours. Coins are the way of the future. A coin is the way. No, it's blockchain. What's blockchain?
Starting point is 00:14:45 Oh, no, no, it's coin. Nobody's betting on blockchain. They're betting on coins. Don't tell me about blockchains. They were betting on coins. You know what they were betting on? Nothing more than the next guy paying higher so they can make money. But the bubble burst.
Starting point is 00:15:00 It's party over. We told you the bubble started bursting February of 21. It was just a matter of time. And they've got everything. They've got everything. They've got them all. And you know what they keep saying now? Oh, this whole crypto things needs regulatory.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Needs regulations. There's not going to be anything left for regulations. It's a freaking bubble. There will be nothing left. It's worthless crap. I've been telling you this from day one. 20,000 coins came out. That means, I don't know, 15, 18,000 people decide to come out with a coin thinking they can make riches.
Starting point is 00:15:50 That's it. It's a party. They came out with a Miami coin down 97%. Stable coin went to zero overnight. Mark Cuban, a coin, zero overnight. Dennis Rodman came out with a pot coin. What the hell happened to that thing? That moron.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Let me come out with a pot coin. Just a few months ago, Miami had a convention. It was sold out. Do you know why it was sold out? People weren't there because they were excited. They wanted hope. They wanted to see all these people that told them you got to buy, you got to buy, you got to buy, you got to buy. and they stood up there on a lectern and looked at them and said, oh, don't worry, everything's
Starting point is 00:16:25 a-okay. It's going to come back. It's happened before. Don't worry, don't worry, don't worry. So people came there for hope. I got news for you. You know what's going on right now? The death drop.
Starting point is 00:16:33 Hope all gone. And that's how it works. It's classic. And you know what you get now? A bunch of clowns out there on TV now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, I'm reporting. I'm reporting.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I'm reporting it. Not one of them said anything three years ago, two years ago, one year ago, warning you. But now they're telling you how bad it is. Hey, thanks. Isn't it good to know who won the football games yesterday? Being told about it today. So be careful who you listen to. Be careful.
Starting point is 00:17:14 You know, I was in Europe and there was no real channels. You know what they had? CNN International, which, by the way, is so much better now than it was before COVID. Before COVID, it was just 24-7 America sucks. And that's because Trump was president. Now there's no more America sucks because Biden's president. They're being nicer. You know what else they had, though?
Starting point is 00:17:36 They had CNBC International and Bloomberg International. I had a watch. It's nausea. Not the channels, but some of the crap they bring on. You know, they're still bringing on doctors on TV that called COVID a flu for six months, and they're being introduced as experts on TV. Yeah, I want to listen to them.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Well, the same crap is going on. They're bringing on people that have been telling you to buy all the way down. Don't throw anything at your TV. I don't want you to break your TV, even though TVs are cheap now. Just please learn a lesson from this. Please, the markets are not easy. Do not make them tougher. Be careful.
Starting point is 00:18:40 experts yeah sure right agendas ulterior motives this should not be hard to figure out this is all happening in real time and in plain sight Disney they got rid of the CEO that's been there for a couple of years Bob Eiger's back and it's simple reason why $202 billion a market cap from the highs that's all that's all I don't care what they tell you about woke, which was stupid, no doubt. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. Don't stick your neck into woke as a big corporation. Stay out, just do your business. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Paid the price on that. But $202 billion a market cap lost. That's why the guy's gone. And that's it. That's how it works. the woke did not help 1.5 billion in losses off of the
Starting point is 00:20:11 streaming that didn't help stock was up 5 and 3 quarters bucks next what do we tell you about being careful with your money well you know what we always tell you never ever
Starting point is 00:20:29 we will never ever ever ever ever buy a biotech with zero percent zero sales we don't want to wake up in the placebo Bo does better in the drug in phase two trials and the stock's down 80% overnight. Well, Imago Biosciences, IMGO was bought out today, up 104% to 35 bucks. They were bought out, I believe, for, I don't know, a billion or two, clinical stage.
Starting point is 00:20:59 So there's one that simply I would have never been in. They're being acquired by Merck for $36 a share. And Merck obviously has the billion. to do it. So again, there's money to make in this speculative stuff. Then again, it's called picking your poison. Then again. And as we have told you in bare markets, anything that loses money is going to be absolutely crushed. Anything. And may I state for the record, IMGO, actually it wasn't so bad. It was down 50% from the highs. And now it was bought out at the old highs of September of 21.
Starting point is 00:21:39 So full disclosure, we cover it all. But we have to start out, and we've got to do it a lot. We have to make sure that you never fall into these traps. And if you follow what I'm talking about, you know who I'm talking about. That guy from micro-strategy's gone. Destroyed the company. Destroyed it. Famous hedge fund guys.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I'd never invest with them again. I'm never done. Up next, market wrap, moves of the day, news of the day, whatever else today. I'm Gary. This is the one only investors at. Starting point is 00:24:36 Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended.
Starting point is 00:24:45 You're going to feel better if you talk to him. Let's talk Elon Musk. I don't know if you know this, but Tesla's down to $167. Down another 12 today. Make it 168. It's back.
Starting point is 00:25:17 to where it was November of 2020 and is down from 414 to 168 whatever that is. We told you it was a gargantuan mistake to buy Twitter
Starting point is 00:25:35 and I never seen a bunch of more overrated bull crap in my life than all this talk about oh who's being let back on Twitter, who's not? Who cares? That is so boring. And I love Twitter because I've set my Twitter up where I get all kinds of things pushed to me from certain people I follow on Wall Street and other journalists that I like like Jonathan Swan and people like that.
Starting point is 00:26:08 What a colossal blunder. I don't think the stock price has anything to do with the company. A, it has to do with the bare market. This has everything to do with the market. is pissed off about he don't shut up. And all he talks about now is Twitter when all he used to talk about was Tesla. That's my take.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Once Tesla broke the 200 to 205 area that had hit in May in June, mid-October, once it broke that, ring! I don't know where it stops. There was some big recall also that does not help. But just remember in bull markets, recalls are shrugged off. Remember, we're not in the bull market. And especially for big caps,
Starting point is 00:27:15 mega cap tech and stuff like that. Apple was down three today. I was told that Barron's had an article on it that was negative. I don't read Barron's. Doesn't do anything for me. Just the usual. Nothing personal. We'll see how that plays out. Oil's. Oil was down $4.50 today. oil stocks were getting trashed. The OIH in one time today was down $24, like 7% in change. And then, interesting, Saudi Arabia, the Saudis came out and said, we're not increasing production. We heard there was rumors we are not.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And oil prices finished kind of flat. The OIH, which was down 24 bucks, finished only down $8 today. I was ready to call a major top in oil stocks today. We already know about the top in oil. We called that in June. And then we dropped to July. And from July to now, we've been in this trading range of about 15%. And it looked like it was about to give way today.
Starting point is 00:28:31 I was ready to yell and scream it. But I tell my peeps, it's the close C-L-O-S-E that counts. Got defended today. We'll see what happens tomorrow. That was a wicked day for oils. And unfortunately for the pump, if it was down four bucks, it would have been big for the pump in two weeks, but oil price is pretty much finished flat today. So today's market wrap brought to you by Investment-Dashmottles.com. That's Jim Roarback, one of the great market timers.
Starting point is 00:29:02 No great areas with the man you're either in or out of the market. What is proprietary indicators. Go check it out. Investment-dash-models.com. Dow down 45, S&P15, but the NASDAQ-12. NASDAQ 100-123, the Sox down 48, transports up 40, advanced clients 1822 in New York, 1627 on the NASDAQ, and may I state for the record, I hardly have any new yearly highs in the market. If I have 20, it's big, but new yearly lows, 213 on the NASDAQ, 59 on the New York. And when I say new yearly highs, Merck, Pepsi, Monster Beverages, O'Reilly Automotive, a couple of insurance.
Starting point is 00:29:48 insurance stocks. Can't go much further than that. It was quite the yucky. Is yucky a word? Well, it is now. Yields flatish today, F-L-A-T-T-I-S-H. The dollar was of the strong note. And when you have a chance, go look at the U-U-P. It's just, you know, it measures the dollar index. The lows of the last few days, you really want them to break. Now today it turned up, we call it curling up. Got a little curling up today. I'm just letting you know you don't want to see the dollar strong. The Fed, a bunch of them just didn't shut the hell up today.
Starting point is 00:30:44 They're just nauseating human beings. Egotomaniacs that have been wrong about everything and just do not shut up. all day, every day. They're like the ever-ready freaking battery. They destroyed free markets. They created the greatest wealth inequality in the world. They screwed savers. They distorted price and yield.
Starting point is 00:31:07 They destroyed the bond market. They created massive bubbles that have popped and destroyed wealth. They created inflation. And when inflation came, they said it wasn't here. When it worsened, they said it was transitory. when they realized it wasn't transitory, they slow walked it. And now they're still predicting what's going to happen next. Imagine if I did this radio show, and I was wrong 100 out of 100 times, and I'm not being sarcastic.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Would you listen to me ever? Imagine if I told you all the way down to buy crypto, would you ever listen to me? Imagine that. That's these people, and they don't change. shut up. And there are central bankers that are supposed to be about stability of markets, of the economy. And there's been absolutely nothing stable about these moron-income poops. I actually should not be putting down the morons. By the way, I'd say all this to their face. They don't shut up. Next. Did you know? I heard about it but never checked it.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Do you know they now have ETFs to short individual stocks? Did you know that? Do you know Tesla? You can short by buying an ETF that goes up when the stock goes down? I kind of heard about it, but the only reason I saw it today, I looked at the new high list. It was on there. Inverse.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Just letting you know. I'm not so sure I have much more to tell you except we had that big Thursday. that 900 point gap as I was leaving for Europe. And we've done nothing since. Back and forth. NASDAQ had one more good day, another good half day, and now we're back a little below the highs of that Thursday.
Starting point is 00:33:40 With some stocks having some trouble. I then want to say, you really don't want to have another one or two real bad NASDAQ days. we have been very good here. You know one of the best things we've done here in the last year? Besides the fact, kept you out of bare market, we've been able to tell you within a day or two of when the counter-tren rallies ended.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I'm not there yet, but one or two more bad days for the NASDAQ. Remember, the NASDAQ, I may be getting there. And remember, when things are defensive, the Dow holds up better. because it's big stuff, lower beta, very liquid, boring stuff. IBM was at a new yearly high before today. McDonald's, travelers, those are the things that are near new highs.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Stunning, huh? Up next. I'll think of something. I still have jet lag. I'm Gary. This is the one only investors, Ed. Starting point is 00:37:20 See Capital One.com for details. You're listening to. What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for? One, two, two, Ready go. Investors Edge with Gary Culper. And welcome once again to Investors Edge.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Thanks for being with us today. Let's see. I got back yesterday to my home around 6 o'clock, fell asleep at 8, woke up at 2, never got back to sleep again. Because 2 a.m. here is 7 a.m. there. By the way, you know what else I love? My wife, God bless her,
Starting point is 00:38:11 she went on a big photo tour. She went to Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia. She's flying back from Singapore right now on an 18-hour flight. I'm actually able to see the flight. Something called Flight Aware. You could also go to the airline, but I go to Flight Aware. I can see the flight right now as it's flying. Modern technology, huh?
Starting point is 00:38:44 Unbelievable. Our kids do not realize. We had none of this. We had none of this. I told you the first time, it was 19, Margot Vuzich walks into my office. She was head of HR at the company I was at. Hey, we're going to set you up with inter-office email.
Starting point is 00:39:07 You know what I said? What's that? And why do I need it? Oh, you can email people at the company anywhere. You can email trading, back office. I go, why can't I just call them? Well, let's just try it out. I was also the guy who said the iPod was just a walkman.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Now, I did think the iPhone was something. Modern technology, huh? I'm watching my wife's flight right now, 18 hours. Most I've ever done, I think, is 14. I think the flight she's on actually is the longest flight in the world or within minutes. I just did nine hours come back from Europe and I watched like 40 episodes of the office. Michael Scott's the man. One after the other. And by the way, I've seen all the episodes five times. It would have been Seinfeld or the Big Bang Theory, but they didn't have that,
Starting point is 00:40:23 all three. And definitely MASH, but they didn't have that. Or the honeymoon is, they didn't have that. Or Barney Miller, a taxi didn't have that. So we watched the office. Back on point. I get emails and I'm very careful here. We're very careful here with what we say. You know what the main emails we're getting right now? About whether we're going to have an economic bust. After all, we've had a bust in the markets. Not in the Dow. Dow's only what down 9, 10% from the highs? S&P's down 18. Nasdaq's down 31 or 32. And of course there's a ton of stocks that are down 50 to 90. But an economic bust I'm being asked about. This is the best way I can answer it. First off, it was about eight months ago now on this show. We did three days in a row of the economy. I said to you, I have to do this because I'm really worried.
Starting point is 00:41:36 And at that point in time was the inflation. Let me answer that question in a way, I think, is best. And that conveys what I'm thinking. all the ingredients, all of the ingredients, that presage real economic trouble, are at hand. In fact, I can't find two ingredients that say the economy's going to accelerate. Credit card usage is skyrocketing, savings rates have plunged. wealth effect in reverse stocks and bonds and now to a pretty decent extent housing
Starting point is 00:42:34 jobs are now being lost we're reading about layoffs in different companies each and every day here is how I know I will know we're in for some real trouble watch the job market this economy will not be able to stand
Starting point is 00:43:06 what are we in the threes right now on employment that will not be able to stay on the fives and sixes, which is still kind of low. Savings rates have plunged. Credit card usage is skyrocketed. And then there's things in the market. The 10-year yield is 3.825. The two-year yield right now is 455. they call that an inverted yield curve that presages bad recessions and it's the worst, it's the highest, the widest, is a better word, in ages. Go look up inverted yield curve and why it happens and what it potentially means. Do some legwork, do some homework.
Starting point is 00:44:03 So all I'm just telling you is the ingredients are there. Oh, massive debt. Oh, Biden raises taxes on corporations coming out of COVID and in a fragile economy. Oh, more rules, regulations, fees, fines, mandates. Oh, crypto. I think it's lost about $2 trillion in change. So they're there. Does it mean it has to happen? No.
Starting point is 00:44:33 I'm just letting you know the ingredients are there. And just remember, everything we have talked to you that has come to fruition was based on the ingredients we saw before any of anyone else. Remember the inflation? We saw before anyone else. Now everybody's a genius on inflation. And you know what we're saying? We started saying three or four months back. What'd we say? Oil peaked. Commodities peaked. We'll be watching for you and for us. Stay tuned. Hey, have a great evening. Drive carefully. If your jet lag, really drive carefully. And when you get home, do like we do. It's quite simple. Make sure you hug your feet. family, make sure you hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. Happy Thanksgiving
Starting point is 00:45:19 again. We will be doing the show tomorrow and Wednesday. Not sure about a half day Friday. We'll let you know we'll be off on Thursday. Until tomorrow.
