Investor's Edge with Gary Coltbaum.
Straight talk about you and your money.
Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Coltbaum.
And welcome once again to Investors Edge.
I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host.
A thanks for being with us today.
Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you were listening.
You know it's October 13th.
Do you know what that means?
I was Bar Mitzvid on October 13th, 53 years ago.
I'm freaking 66 now. This is ridiculous.
By the way, I look 35. I'm in shape of 35 also.
Age is just the number. But I'm 66.
I remember the first three lines of my Haft Torah.
That's it, though. I will not be reciting them here.
Anyway, it's October 13th. It's Tuesday. It's 2026.
Hey, hope you're having a good day.
I'm not.
Let me tell you why.
So we moved offices,
but I still have access to my old office.
I moved all my computers to the new office.
They said they have the greatest internet.
Boom,
but I'm not going to mention the company.
And all I know is I'm back in my old office doing this.
Because the internet and the new office,
they say is better than the one here, it ain't.
So they're getting a call from me when I'm done with the radio show, getting them over there.
Yo, dudes, what's the deal?
We'll see what they have to say.
Anyway, the good news is my offices are four minutes away.
We have a few things to discuss today.
I use the word mushy to describe today.
but there was some good and not so good as we enter earning season,
but an area of the market may have put its foot down on the downside today also.
We'll get into that.
And of course, we'll do whatever affects you, the markets, the economy, your job, your industry,
the Morlocks in D.C., boy, oh boy.
and look
when we
ripped Biden on a daily basis
we took no joy in it
when we ripped Trump on a daily basis
we take no joy in it
but between the two
the bull crap that is being
spewed by the
both of them and now
Trump because there is a video
he went out and said there was some sort of
energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, and it was just blatant lie.
And a reporter asked him while he was outside, why did you say that there was a energy ceasefire
fire between Russia and Ukraine, and they came out and said, they're not.
Well, if I say it is, it is.
That was basically his answer.
Because I, he's like the biggest BS artist in the history of the world.
It's like everyday occurrence.
His speeches are just blatant lies, everything.
Greatest economy ever.
Prices are down.
$21 trillion coming in.
I stopped eight wars.
It's the amazing part about it is he's got to know that we all know.
You know, we're in the day and age of information that go social media, media, the whole works.
And everything is provable.
If I said to you, I dunked a basketball today, it's provable.
I'm lying.
I wish he would stop.
He just doesn't care.
He has to know, we know.
The job numbers last month were terrible,
and he's saying it's the greatest market ever.
Greatest, I don't even know what to say.
I just had to get that out at the outset,
because 10 minutes ago I was watching,
and I'm like, what?
And he's making it so easy for the Democrats
to destroy the Republicans in three weeks,
I think three weeks from today.
He's just making it too easy.
He's destroyed the party.
I hope I'm wrong.
I say that gleefully.
I hope I'm wrong.
But they're going to get swamped in the House,
and I think they may be losing the Senate.
And the only reason they don't
is because there aren't enough up for grabs.
I don't even know what to say anymore.
I hope for the best.
I'm an optimist.
but we have a bunch of more locks run in the country for the last so-and-so amount of years.
But Trump's made billions.
Good on him.
All right, back on point.
If you do not get this radio show in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com.
We'll also post it on our X feed.
And if you don't follow us on X, you should.
Just put our name in.
If you like to email us, just be nice.
We'll be nice back.
We'll be respectful back as long as, you know, what I tell you.
If you like Hamas, you're not getting respect and all that.
So a few things.
We're an earnings season.
And I'm going to let you know that Goldman Sachs today, and this is important,
Goldman Sachs finished down $2.
It opened up $37.
Goldman Sachs.
J.P. Morgan right at the open was up, I think, $9.
Finished down $2.87.
Wells Fargo was never up on their earnings.
That finished down $2.60.
And Citigroup finished down $7.38 on their earnings.
So four big banks and their reactions sucked.
Maybe tomorrow is different, and there's a lot more
banks reporting this week, but to be up $37 and finish down when you're Goldman Sachs and
you're already down a lot over the last couple of months, sucks.
City Group was never up and finishes at the low of the day.
Sucks.
Wells Fargo never up and finished at the low of the day.
JP Morgan at the open was up, let's see, three, four, was up maybe 10 and finished at the
lower the day and by the way they really sold them off in the last 10 minutes also that's not good news
they're big banks so we're just letting you know we also want to let you know in the Dow united health
reported and if if i got the number here i have it here somewhere united health at the open you're
ready hit 390 38 up 21 dollars
It finished down.
So distribution and earnings.
And forget United Health.
That matters because it's an important name, but the banks.
Oh, and by the way, the Dow on the Open today hit 52, let's call it 52300.
Closed at 51-670.
That's 600 and 30 points off the highs, right?
at the open. We were up 450 on the Dow finished down 180. That's not good. Again, we're just
reporting the news, a lot more earnings to report. I'm going to show you, I'm going to tell you
about the other side which was better. But that's not good. And for the record,
the banks matter, big time. Let's hope that doesn't continue. The Dow finished down 180.
The NASDAQ down 41, the NASDAQ, 195, but the S&P was only down two.
Transports were up 51.
I'm going to save a couple of minutes to talk about the semiconductors,
because they kind of sort of did the exact opposite of what the banks did today.
Actually, I don't have to save time.
The semiconductors right near the open were 11924, and then 11909.
in the 11 o'clock hour.
Now, 11910, let's call it.
11910.
And last I look, that's down about 330 points at the lows
on the semiconductor index.
Up next, we'll tell you where it finished.
The better.
This is the one only investor's edge.

That's 888-4-22-55-59.

management. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working.
You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality
programming with Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. So the Philadelphia
Semiconductor Index, which was down 3.30 finish only down 28 and ramped into the close.
keep in mind the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index in the last week was trashed to the tune of
over a thousand so I believe the oversoldness bounced it and it finished well and the
strongest name in AMD advanced micro devices which right at the open today hit notice how I do
this. 573 down 30. Now I take it back. 573 down 20 finished up 11 and finished at the highs of the day,
unlike the banks that finished at the lows of the day. And AMD to us is quite important. Most semis
were down today, but a nice little rush up into the close. Micron finished down 35.
That's not good.
It was down 51 with 15 minutes to go.
I'll have to look at that.
The semiconductor index
finished back above the 50-day moving average.
And you're ready for this?
NVIDIA?
NVIDIA was the low of the day early.
Let's call it 220.
2.320.
It missed the 50-day moving average by 8 cents.
it was down over three bucks finished up 220 and the highs of the day so maybe just maybe the pain in the semis
have had enough sand disk which has been mauled was down 50 bucks early if i got that right uh make that
uh seven 57 sixty five five
It was down 70 bucks early, finished only down $5.
And in the last 10 minutes, sandisk was up 30 bucks.
And of course, that's part of that realm, for lack of a better word.
Seagate near the open was down $46.
Finished only down six.
And finished at the highs of the day.
So kind of a little bit of an opposites day today from the banks, from some of these other areas, but leave no doubt there's been damage done.
Quite the damage done in this semiconductor artificial intelligence space.
We'll give it that.
Symbol light, believe it or not, was down only 40, finished down.
seven. So a lot of that today, a lot of jello moving on the plate, didn't see a lot of news to cause it, except the earnings of the big banks were sold off. And I got to tell you, we don't want to see much more of that. And when the Dow's up 450 and finishes down 180, we don't want to see more of that. But again, that's Goldman Sachs. That is Goldman Sachs today.
reversing 260 Dow points.
That's how it rolls.
A Caterpillar was also rammed again today.
I think it did finish better at the end of the day.
Still was down 26, was down, I think, 41.
So I got back 15, that's about 100 Dow points.
And that's your story.
wicked day today with a quite the wild swing at the close sell the banks by the
semiconductors what's next beats the heck out of me but it was wicked and just so
you know a lot more banks are reporting this week just so you know it's not a big
week in numbers next week is a big week in numbers gargantuan week in numbers how many
companies in the next two weeks we will be getting Apple Amazon Google meta which
by the way had another good day today meta up 19 was up 30 I'm gonna be studying
this muse, M-U-S-E, meta-muse. So supposedly it's the greatest thing for AI in the history of the world.
That's a little sarcasm. But I hope it is. As we have told you, we have yet to use too much of it,
except what I have on Google. I'll probably take the weekend and start maybe look at, well, I'm
have my wife do it. She's big with the chat GPT, ladies and gentlemen. Anything else happened today?
Well, I was not thrilled that yields were down a decent amount today and then finished higher.
We don't like that. We don't like yields opening low and finishing higher. Oil prices today.
I think a little bit lower, but holding support didn't like that.
I take it back.
Oil prices were up today a little bit.
Not much.
Holding support oil prices.
Huh.
Again, not sure we like that.
We want oil prices to break down like the Washington Commanders' end of game against
my giants. That's what we would like to see. Simple as that. So that's the story of today.
Tomorrow, a bunch more big earnings next week and the week after, the job gets much tougher,
big time tougher. Wake up earlier, go to sleep later in order to stay on top of all this.
And where it stops, beats the heck out of me.
but let me repeat
semis nice reversal to the upside
still finished down
and a bunch finished down
but some good ones finished up
and the banks reverse to the downside
less than thrilled
semis
more important than the banks
believe it or not
up next
yeah what else is going on
we'll have it all.
I'm Gary.
This is the one
The Only Investor's Edge.
I'm listening to
America is talking.
Investors Edge.
He's got to be pleased with that.
The crowd is just on his feet here.
He's a Cinderella boy.
With Gary Colbomb.
It comes highly recommended.
You're going to feel better if you talk to.
All right.
So a few tidbits.
Some, actually, I think they matter.
Have you been
reading about the ambassador the Greece. This woman, her name is Kimberly Gilfoyle. She is resigned. She was asked to resign. There are texts between her and some man that I need you to pay my American Express bill. It's $100,000. And I promise to, I'm very close to the
president, I'm this, that, this, that, this, that, this that. She's done for. Is that a felony?
I think so, as an ambassador, selling access to get paid? I'm going to guess it is. I'm going to have to
double check that. And interesting enough, because I talk about this a lot, I've been getting emails
on it. Let me be clear. This crap happens all the freaking time. She just got caught. I guess she did
the cardinal sin. She put it in a text and she pissed off the guy that gave her a few hundred
thousand and she wanted more. She says that she will be exonerated. I don't know how you fight
texts like that word for word, but we'll see. But what you need to know is that it's
a freaking cesspool in D.C. now. They shoot the middle finger to us every day. Trump just made
billions with his family. Biden made millions with his family. The people from Wall Street
become Treasury Secretary. The Treasury Secretaries go back to Wall Street doing each other favors.
Of course they do. They're buddies. Some no talented bums that were politicians are the
of different divisions of Wall Street.
Why?
Access.
The lobbying business is a multi-zillion dollar business
where ex-politicians go back to their buddies.
Hey, do this for me.
It's a freaking cesspool.
And as I have said to you on this show,
it is no longer we the people.
It's we the government.
They don't think they work for us.
They think we work for them,
especially the people like Burr,
Bernie Sanders, but it's a, to me, it's criminal.
But they get slaps on the hands.
Nothing ever happens to them.
That guy, George Santos, got pardoned by Trump.
Got pardoned by Trump.
Who's that other goblin that got pardoned by Trump that used to be the Chicago?
Wasn't he the governor of Illinois?
the Blaski, whatever his name was.
It's a cesspool.
And that's why when Trump says it,
when Biden said it, when Obama,
we're working for you. Kiss mine.
You ain't working for us.
And then we see some of these people
making $180,000 a year in D.C.
Worth $20 million.
Where did that come from?
Do you think there's ever any accounting of it?
No.
Why?
It's not we the people.
We should be able to have them account to us.
How are you worth 20 million on 180,000?
If you didn't legally show us.
I mean, you are in government.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
And it's also pure party.
Do you see Trump going after and the Department of Justice,
which, by the way, it's the Department of Trump justice?
all they do is go after Trump's enemies.
Do you see them going after friends?
No.
And look at Biden, under Biden, whatever his guy's name.
What they do?
They went after Trump like crazy.
My favorite one is when they said Mar-a-Lago was only worth $20 million or $30 million.
That was a scam.
Mar-a-Lago is probably worth a quarter billion dollars, if not more.
So they went after Trump viciously.
And boy, there's some things I think he should have been arrested for.
But a bunch of things, no.
And that's where I just don't care about any of them.
I get people, Gary, you got to take sides.
Take sides.
They hate us.
We're nothing.
Do you see how now all of them, what they're going to do for us?
You got Byron Donald's running for governor here.
Oh, I'm going to get your prices down.
You haven't done a good job in the last year and a half, buddy.
I'm going to do this for you that
Oh yeah sure
Everybody's doing everything for us
Before elections
And then they do nothing for us
After the elections
But make themselves wealthy
Any of you disagree
You can't
All the facts are out there
They're insider trading
I'm on the defense commission
And I'm buying and selling
Lockheed Martin and Raytheon
When deals are getting done
Oh, I'm on the health care commission.
Oh, we're agreeing to pass this.
Oh, I'm buying into those stocks.
They hate us.
The problem is we do nothing about it.
We do nothing about it.
And do you know how we get a bunch of Marxist and communist winning elections?
Because a lot of people are tired of the same old, same old.
The people that told us are conservative or not.
people that told us when they were the middle of the road or not
Trump he's not a conservative republican
he's an interventionist he's a neocon
and for more than a decade made fun of the bushes and the chadies
saying they're neocons and he would never ever do this and that
Trump threatened greenland and then Biden
I would impeached him for what he did at the
border. That to me was impeachable. No, nothing happened. Biden's family made 25 million.
They're stupid. The Trump families made billions. Biden family should have gone for it.
They only ripped 25 million. A Hunter Biden had people pay 500,000 for paintings that wasn't worth
$7. That was just payoffs. You feeling me?
You feeling me?
Why do you think I worry?
None of them are acting for us.
And when a president and his family make billions,
you think they're really considering us?
Anyway, I had to get that out today
because I've been watching some of these stump speeches.
They should be on comedy central.
They should be the cold open for Saturday Night Live.
Where's the term limits, they promise?
Where is the campaign finance laws they promise?
Oh, that's right.
They opened the spigot with campaign finance.
They hope we would forget about that.
And you know what?
We did.
And that's how you get the $40 trillion of debt.
Two trillion dollar deficits are normal now.
And over a trillion bucks goes towards interest.
And it's like we don't care.
And they're making billions.
Again, we say none of this with joy, but as Alfred E. Newman said in Mann Magazine, what me worry?
What? Me worry?
Anyway, it's a ghost town here at our house with Winston not here.
I keep here at his barking.
I keep looking for his bones and that are not there and all the little things that you used to.
Man, oh man, dogs are great.
I'm thinking about another, but I'm going to take a little bit of time.
Hey, up next, enough of them.
Back on point.
This is the one only Investor's Edge.
You're listening to.
What are we waiting for?
Well, what are you waiting for?
One, two, ready, go.
Action!
Investors Edge with Gary Culper.
Well, after going 0 and 2 the first two weeks of fantasy league, I'm now 3 and 2.
I won again this weekend.
I think I got a pretty decent team.
And I should be 5 and 0.
If I played a different, I played Drake May the first two weeks.
And now I've been playing the Detroit quarterback and now Drake May is kicking ass.
So I have two great quarterbacks now.
I believe my Detroit quarterback is on a buy this week.
so I'll play Drake May, and I think he plays against the crappy team.
Yeah, I think.
Anyway, so we're three and two.
The Giants are three one and one leading the east.
They could have been definitely three and two,
and they could have definitely been four and one.
That was the weirdest freaking game.
I fell asleep during last night.
Buffalo beat the Rams, I guess, in overtime.
And they fired the kicker who missed a kick.
for the Rams and then had one blocked to win the game.
I still have no idea how these kickers can kick a football that far.
And these goalies for these soccer teams kicking the ball like 70 yards?
How do they do that?
How do they do that?
I get all, a lot of the questions we get is on predicting.
And we try to tell people, we, we can.
can't predict. There are people out there that's saying that AI is going to be the biggest
gigantic blowup. By the way, there's been a big gigantic blowup already. There's a ton of AI
stocks down 50% still, some worse. Yeah, true. And have not come back. There are some semiconductor
stocks that are down 50% from three, four months ago and have not come back. Sandus just went from
2300 to 1400. We'll see if that comes back. We try not to predict that, but it's out there.
Let us tell us, let us tell you for the umpteenth time our biggest worry on this whole thing.
Not whether it's good or bad.
There's talk that it's going to cure diseases and enable you to do.
this, that, right speeches for you, I'm sure it does.
How the hell they're going to pay off the debt?
There's a company called Corweave, very highly touted.
Their bonds are now yielding 15% because they're selling the bonds off left and right.
Oracle stock has gone from 345 to 140 in change.
This is Oracle.
Their bonds have dropped markedly,
and to ensure those bonds has skyrocketed.
And let's be clear about this so you understand.
The higher you have to pay to ensure bonds,
that's the more worrisome the market is for those bonds.
The worry is how the hell?
First off, there's a lot of debt off the books.
a ton. It's over $2 trillion.
And as I add up with my rusty abacus, we're talking $3.5.4 trillion every day.
I said this on TV this week. Every day.
Oh, here's another $40 billion. Here's another $60 billion. Here's another $80 billion.
Oh, there's $20 billion. Oh, there's $10 billion. Oh, there's NVIDIA,
giving somebody $10 billion to buy their chips.
It's just remindful, listen carefully, of past blowout.
Ups, massive debt, massive amount of promises, circular financing, secondary offerings to pay for,
we're not predicting it.
We're just stating some facts.
If I just take out a legal pad and a pen and write down all the debt that is accrued already
and there's supposed to be a bunch more, you have to ask yourself how they're going to pay this?
Where the sales going to come from?
From what?
That's what we're stating.
Not predicting.
But we've already had big crashes and a lot of names.
Coreweavers, I think, I don't know, I'm not even looking to screen right now, $85.
It was $180.
Something like that.
And there's a lot more.
It's $77.81.
cents. Highly touted. You know, the high was 170. And it's not alone. So just letting you know for all
the questions we get about predicting all this because everybody else is, we're just stating facts.
And they're scary. And then they're going to try and do a $2 trillion IPO for this anthropic
that is losing oodles of money and has massive debt. Just stating.
facts and let me be clear about another thing if in fact it does get really bad we'll know it
they'll be breaking them down left and right all around up and down they've been doing a little bit
on that the western digital sea gate sand disk even micron hit a little bit here in here not as
bad that's a lot of memory and storage so there's been plenty all already hit
But I think people are talking about a gargantuan.
I don't know.
I just know the facts.
So stay tuned.
We'll be watching.
The more debt they continue to pile on will be letting you know.
I just don't know how you fit a 10-pound salami and a 5-pound bag.
That's an old line.
So have a great evening.
Drive carefully.
When you get home, do like we do.
Quite simple.
Make sure you hug your family.
children. They will feel better. You will feel better. I promise they will be well. Hug your pets also.
