Starting point is 00:01:16 Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's May 7th, 2024. Hope you're having a good day. It's Tuesday. The Knicks won last night. They're playing very good ball. Jalen Brunson is an absolute
Starting point is 00:01:32 fiend on the court. And I am so happy we got him from Dallas. I don't know how we did it, but we got him for a song and a dance. And this guy is all world MVP. Any way you cut it. That's all I can tell you. So good night for the next. Ladies and gentlemen, this is serious talk about everything that affects you.
Starting point is 00:01:55 No, serious talk. We don't pussyfoot around. We tell you like it is. We have no bias. We have no agenda. We have no ulterior motive. Unfortunately, many years ago, we used to do markets, markets, markets, and then the interlopers got involved with debt deficits, massive spending, massive interference, rules, regulations, fees, fines, mandates. So they're a part of the equation when we do our stuff here, including a little bit today.
Starting point is 00:02:22 And if you do not get this radio show in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com. We'll post it on a Twitter fee, which is now X. And if you don't follow us on Twitter, you really probably should. and you can email me just be nice and most everybody is it's very rare we get nasty ones and the reason why we don't get nasty ones is because I am respectful of everybody
Starting point is 00:02:40 as long as you win the rule of law as long as you're not racist and as long as you're not an ass clown and you can use that as a definition of whichever way you want to put it okay quiet day today so I'm going to cover a few things first I have told you on this show
Starting point is 00:03:01 there are certain people that I follow very closely. We turn off pretty much drown out all the noise on Wall Street. We really pay no attention to analysts, and again, no disrespect, but we have found them to be late and terrible and bare markets like most. But there are a few select people that we always want to listen to. William O'Neill passed away. Marty Zweig passed away.
Starting point is 00:03:38 These are two people who we would always follow very closely. And then you have, and this is not a political statement, George Soros, one of the greatest money managers, Warren Buffett, Stanley Drucken Miller, David Tepper, Paul Tudor Jones. There's a few others. Sam Zell, who passed away. Always listened to him in, real estate
Starting point is 00:04:03 Stanley Drunken Miller was on CNBC this morning I watched it and I taped it and I'm going to watch it again and the reason is and first off you should go check it out I guess you could go CNBC dot com and see if it's
Starting point is 00:04:26 there but I'm pretty sure to get the whole thing you have to subscribe but I'm pretty sure you can get if you go on Twitter or X I believe I believe it is, hmm, I'm looking. Squawks, CNBC, SQU-A-W-K.
Starting point is 00:05:01 There's a bunch of different, they do like three, five-minute things. All I can tell you, very simply, I thought it was me doing the interview. I was, wow. The man agrees with everything we've been yelling and screaming about for a very long time on this show. Well, first off, he was asked, what grade do you give Biden? He said F. And I was like, wow, he did that. He gave Biden an F.
Starting point is 00:05:30 And he said debt, deficits, spending, giveaways. No kidding. He's no fan of Trump. Do you know what he said about Trump? When Trump was president, he jawboned Jay Powell to take rates lower and print money. And he said he thinks Trump would be inflation, Biden would be stagflation going forward. But I digress. He went into other things and just one by one, the giveaways to college students. And he was just so right on top of it about how wrong it is and how stupid it is and how you're
Starting point is 00:06:22 and others. He talked about the debt and deficits and the percentage and the size and how much money is going towards this, that, and the other thing. And he also mentioned Biden is buying votes. And he also mentioned Biden was classically buying votes. No blank Sherlock. So when you have a chance, go check that out. That's number one on the hip rate. And as you know, I'm a Fox News business contributor, but every now and then, and it's not very often, but he was on that channel. Next, article, headline, is your retirement safe, social security set to run out of money? Oh, really? I thought it was such a great thing. Experts warned benefits could be cut will not run out entirely after the date.
Starting point is 00:07:29 2035 Remember what we've told you here about these politicians They don't give a crap about you They will sell you down the river if they could No really They've had a chance for years But they're too afraid of their power I told you when George Bush won the re-election
Starting point is 00:07:52 I was invited to the White House to speak to them Treasury Secretary, call rove office a budgeted and a bunch of people. And what we were asked to do is interview them on Social Security. We did that. And basically what they were trying to tell everybody is eventually it's going to run out of money because nobody has, the government has not done anything about the demographics. People living longer. A week after we did it, they shut it down because they said they were going to.
Starting point is 00:08:31 just the Democrats were putting out advertisements about Republicans hate the elderly. And look what they're doing to you. And as we've told you, if they never did Social Security and just had that money come out of your paycheck into your account, not some government entity, just to your account. And you didn't even buy the stock market, but just put every dime into 10-year bonds and every 10 years roll it over, you'd have a crap, load more money now and it'd be yours and it wouldn't be theirs wouldn't have to steal them they wouldn't be able to steal the money which they did and there's your social security 2035 11 years from now the greatest Ponzi scheme of all time people getting their social security today from the workers of today not your own money what a gargantuan great scam next just want to let you know just been doing some
Starting point is 00:09:32 numbers, the price earnings multiple of the S&P 500 is currently 24.3. And I don't, some other people said 21, some said 28. It's 24.3. Just letting you know the medium price earnings multiple is 18.5 since the year 1988. That's what was sent to me and I checked it out. It's 31% above. And of course, if we have strong earnings going forward, that'll come down. If we have weak earnings, it goes up. Here's the problem with using 1988. go backwards little farther and it's 15 just letting you know
Starting point is 00:10:11 that's the problem with 88 using different whatever but it's still up in the trees and as we've said to you in a lot of earnings reports boy earnings better grow going forward for a lot of these companies headline of the day we're just picking and choosing here and I thought this was pretty interesting
Starting point is 00:10:32 recently the government of South Carolina got nothing against South Carolina discovered 1.8 billion dollars sitting in one of its old bank accounts they are the state is unsure where the money came from or what it was intended for the money had been sitting in the account for over five years just letting you know headline of the day going back to drunken miller just letting you know he cut his stake in invidia he thinks short term um trouble longer term better he believes in AI. He thinks it's been overdone. I forgot to mention that. Next. You know what? Next segment I'll get
Starting point is 00:11:19 into a little bit more political. Fast food chains now are being accused of greedflation amid soaring prices. Fast food prices have shot up 33% since 2019, cost its supermarket only 26%. McDonald's is up its prices most while Domino's has resisted the hikes. Why is that happening? I'll explain up and boy, we're going to cover little tidbits here and there. That's all up next. Just the one only Investors Edge. Starting point is 00:13:04 Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM. I recently spoke with IBM's new director of research, Jake Embatta. We discussed his vision for the future of quantum computing. At IBM research, what we always do is answer what is the future of computing, whether it's coming up with new algorithms, coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum, or coming up with just how do different accelerators go together? It's our DNA to answer the question of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem for IBM because you kind of need to have a legacy of building stuff? Yes. Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM. I wanted the experience,
Starting point is 00:13:48 the culture of building hard things that others have not done before. where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology? There will come a point when it will mature. Right? Yeah. My cell phone is a mature technology at this point. How far are we from that point with Quantum? By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer.
Starting point is 00:14:13 That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem. To learn how IBM is building the future of computing, visit IBM.com slash quantum. Starting point is 00:16:06 You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. By the way, just letting you know, and I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Just so you know, nothing against McDonald's. I haven't been to McDonald's in, I'm going to say, 20 years, 25 years. I lived in McDonald's during college, chicken McNuggets, playing Uno with my friends. Anyway, the McChicken in 10 years has gone from $1 to $3. The medium fries $1.59 to $3.79. The Taco Bell beefy five-layer burrito. I don't want to be sitting next to you have to eat a couple of those. $1.59 to $369.
Starting point is 00:16:59 First one's 190% Second one's 138%. This one was 199%. Burger King, the Wopper meal, 579 to 999. The Popeye's two-piece chicken combo meal, 649 to 1139. What?
Starting point is 00:17:16 Ooh, wow. Why are these things happening? It's simple. Their costs are going up. That's all. Now, are costs going up less than they're actually charging? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:35 The job is to be profitable, keep costs in line as best as possible, to attract as much many people as possible. But just letting you know, what else I got for you? Well, you know, Jin Saki is, I think she has her own show on MSNBC, that Communist Network, is now saying the president should ditch press conferences and opt for softball interviews. views on the view. Yes. The man most who should be held to account, the one man that should be held to the account most in this world, the most powerful man on earth supposedly, do not do press conferences, do not speak to the people, so go on the view so they can kiss your but. This is from the ex-press secretary, and you wonder why we can't stand them. What else?
Starting point is 00:18:50 And this is for all you Trump people. As we have said to you, we're not a Trump fan. We think there's a lot wrong there. But we have a binary election, and you know what we think of Biden. but I got to mention some to you because this is coming from an ex-reporter, from NBC, CNN, and we're not making this up. These are people who report the news. Nora O'Donnell, who's the CBS news anchor at 6.30 p.m., had a 60-minute piece with Hakeem Jeffries this weekend, and he was introduced as a man that reaches across the aisle and is well liked by the Republicans.
Starting point is 00:19:42 And the first thing out of Hakeem Jeffrey's mouth was Republicans suck. Of course, it's not what he said, but you get my point. And she does this interview and kisses his butt also. Do you think she asked Gary questions? Representative Jeffries. Leader Jeffreys is the leader on that side. What about the $2 to $3 trillion deficit Joe Biden's running? What about he's raised the size of government?
Starting point is 00:20:17 70% in five years. Why is he taking money from other taxpayers and giving it to on student loans? Doesn't that hurt people who didn't go to college because they're paying for it. No. No. What about Afghanistan?
Starting point is 00:20:38 Do you know the women there have now gone back to the dark ages? Because we left? No. The border. Under Joe Biden, how many millions have crossed the border? Record amounts? Leader Jeffreys? What do you say about that?
Starting point is 00:20:56 No. Kiss the butt. which takes me to somebody by the name Michelle Kaczynski. This is for all you Trumpians. A former CNN NBC reporter took the social media Sunday to whine and complain, how she is haunted by a dinner with several Donald Trump supporters who at first glance, I'm not making this up, seemed normal. You see, you're not normal. You're not normal. All were well educated and successful in career, she said. They seem great for like an hour. but slowly over a few drinks they began to slip their true maga natures.
Starting point is 00:21:37 The reporter went on to add how she was surprised by the revelation, marveling how a normal group of people, a normal group of people, could support a politician that she doesn't approve of. She proceeded to provide details and personal details. They were from Ivy Leagues, but now they won't send their kids to Ivy Leagues. How dare they? and then when I brought up climate change, they laughed. You see, if you believe climate change is a hoax, you're stupid.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Even though facts are, they told us it was global cooling, and then when it got hot, they changed it to global warming, and then it got cold again, so they came up with the moniker and the marketing of climate change, so if it's hot, they're right. If it goes cold, they're right. And of course, it's all about money. have seen people become wealthy beyond their imagination with grants from our government. They're trying to do global taxes for it. It's freaking insane.
Starting point is 00:22:42 I saw our local paper here. Oh, it's going to be 100 degrees in Florida, climate change. Yeah, well, it's May in Florida, and every now and then you'll get 100 degrees. Anyway, just want to let you know this is what you're up against those that love Trump. these reporters are up their own you know what's and they think you're idiots they look down upon you because you believe in somebody
Starting point is 00:23:08 that they don't believe in they got a Marxist she probably kisses the butt of Biden who is a control freak Marxist that is using rules regulations fees fines mandates taxes to stomp on us but he's cool
Starting point is 00:23:23 so I'm just letting you know for all, and again, I'm not a Trump guy, but I respect all. This is what you're up against. And of course, this is what Trump's up against. They're threatening them with jail time because he's opened his mouth. They don't put robbers and felony attackers that injures others in jail in New York City. They don't put shoplifters who have shoplifted 50 times in jail in New York City. They catch people with weapons on parole that should be charged with a felony.
Starting point is 00:23:59 They're not put in jail. Oh, but let's put Donald Trump in jail because he opened his mouth. They're insane. Our justice system in some of these cities are so ass backwards. I cannot begin to tell you. It's to the point where I tell my sons, when you go on the subway, stand against the walls. If they're police there, stand next to them. Don't go near the trains as they're coming down the tracks.
Starting point is 00:24:23 and don't have anybody behind you stand against the wall, as I said, and just be, know your surroundings. Why do I have to say that? Because they do nothing about these people attacking others in the subways. They're loud out every time, but let's put Trump in jail. We move on. Up next, the markets, quiet butt. I'm Gary. This is the one only investors, Ed. Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast Smart Talks with IBM.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I recently sat down with IBM's chairman and CEO, Arvin Krishna, and I asked him, how can companies use AI to its fullest potential to create smarter business? My one advice to them, pick areas you can scale. Don't pick the shiny little toys on the side. For example. If anybody has more than 10% of what they had for customer service 10 years ago, they're already five years behind. If anybody is not using AI to make their developers who write software
Starting point is 00:25:46 30% more productive today, with the goal of being 70% more productive, so we are not asking our clients to be the first experiment on it. We say, you can leverage what we did. We're happy to bring out all our learnings, including what needs to change in the process, because the biggest change is not technology, is getting people to accept. that there's a different way to do things.
Starting point is 00:26:11 To listen to the full conversation, visit IBM.com slash smart talks. Amazon Hub Delivery wants to partner with your business. Help your business. Help your neighbors. Discover a new stream of income for your business when you partner with Amazon Hub delivery. You and your team will deliver Amazon packages

Starting point is 00:26:51 Apply today at Amazon.com slash hub delivery. That's Amazon.com slash HUB delivery. Now looking for hub partners in your area. Hey, it's Ryan Seacrest for Albertsons and Safeway. It's stockup savings time now through March 31st.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Spring in for store-wide deals and earn four times of points. Look for in-store tags to earn on eligible items from Celsius, Body Armor, ORA-Ida, Silk, Capri-Sung, Bavarian Meats, and Charmin. Then clip the offer in the app for automatic event-long savings. See website for full terms and conditions. You're listening to America is talking. Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him.
Starting point is 00:28:14 And let me finish up. Remember what I've told you. The regular media for three years didn't say a word about the border. And if they did, 30 seconds at the end of a show or on page 24 of a newspaper. Once they were forced to, because Biden, just so you know, Biden gave him the queue, when Biden saw the poll numbers on immigration go to number one, all of a sudden it's the Republicans' fault. and all of a sudden the media started reporting on the border and never mentioned the name Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Not once. They finally had a report it. Never mentioned his name once. And then finally, and I got to hand it to him because it was political jujitsu on his part, the Democrats came up with an immigration bill, which was not a bill on immigration. It was a joke. And the Republicans turned it down.
Starting point is 00:29:26 So the media started reporting, you see, it's the Republicans' fault. The greatest financial con game in history is what Joe Biden is doing with our treasure right now. The greatest con game in this country is our national media and they're reporting for years. and I see it and I feel it and I get it. And just the fact that I'm mentioning this reporter that if you like Trump, you're an idiot. And I can go on and on and on for years explaining some of this.
Starting point is 00:30:09 But the most important thing is they have ducked and they have blacked out him taken spending from $4.4 trillion into the mid-sevins. most of it debt, him going in front of the camera and line to each and every one of you, that he's lowered the deficits and lowered the debt and lowered spending and he's going to lower the deficits $3 trillion over the next 10 years when he's increasing at $20 trillion? You would think a journalist that was curious would say one simple question. Just what the hell are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:30:45 Why are you lying to the American public? Why are you making this up? No. We're not even going to bring that stuff up. Who cares about the people that they're going to get screwed one day when the bond market implodes? Who cares? Oh, and the inflation? Oh, it wasn't Joe Biden's fault just because he was spending like insane amounts of money,
Starting point is 00:31:12 which basically causes inflation. and a government entity called the central bank that spent $9 trillion. Oh, that doesn't cause inflation. It was the Putin price hike. So just letting you know I was just texting myself some things that I was reading. And lastly, I'm going to bring this one last one up. As we tell you, unfortunately, there's a downside to Wall Street, and that is the creeps. The SPACs, the ridiculously priced IPOs, what they did in.
Starting point is 00:31:50 They're doing another SPAC based on AI. It's going to come out soon. It's called Oclo. The Open AI CEOs, it's chairman. They're going to do it as a SPAC on the NYSC in the coming days. I'll let you know. They're going to value it at $850 million when it's unveiled. I gather they have no sales.
Starting point is 00:32:16 I'm not saying it's not going to be the greatest thing since... Hmm The greatest thing since Hmm The 86 Mets But they're going to throw another spack at you and screw you Just letting you know Just like they did the other ones
Starting point is 00:32:37 And now we can go to the markets Didn't I just do a lot I think I covered everything I wanted to cover I did the social security Didn't I right I did Trunken Miller Yeah I think I'm done Dow is up 32 today, just quiet day, which I stop right there and say Disney was down $11.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Very simply, they miss revenue numbers. I'm not going to get into the whole thing, but they miss revenue numbers. Revenue, the last four quarters, plus four, plus five, zero, and plus one. And again, it's tough to grow the business. They are going to be expanding here in central Florida. I think they actually did make money on their streaming. I think maybe for the first time. but that ain't no hill for a climber.
Starting point is 00:33:30 You cannot miss revenue numbers, and Disney was down 9.5% today. Was acting well. We'll see what comes of it. S&P up 7. NASDAQ down 17. My goodness. The NASDAQ 100 down.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Two transports bouncing a little bit up 53. Advance the client's not bad on the New York. On the NASDAQ, let's call it a little bit to the downside. A few things of note. we're just going to go through things China got extended starting a little pullback
Starting point is 00:34:05 nothing terrible we're watching it on the pullback for entry that would be number one the 10 year yield had another good morning today but little warning shot finished near the high of the day as yields came down over the last few days
Starting point is 00:34:24 because of Powell the markets rallied up if there's anything I'm worried about this little rally up and it is something to worry about by the way the volume has been an absolute joke on the indices today actually the S&P had a little extra volume today
Starting point is 00:34:44 but really was flat and the NASDAQ at extra volume was actually down today the semiconductors were down 35 today very sawtooth-like action in the semi and video was down 18 Apple again mentions something to the effect of
Starting point is 00:35:02 I don't know AI chips and that and could affect Nvidia so Nvidia was a little bit on the weak side I don't think a big deal there was a lot of Jello moving on the plate and earnings I always kind I don't really make fun of it but Palantir
Starting point is 00:35:21 who I say is one of the most touted stocks that never goes anywhere even though it's up off the lows of the last year off the bare bottom, bare market lows, it's trading where the high in 21 was 45, it's 21. That was down 15% today on their numbers. And there was just a bunch of blowups today. Data Dog that everybody talks about was down big. Ferrari, I haven't looked into the numbers yet, but something was up.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Down 26 bucks. Today, big breakdown on that. But then on the upside, you had some really good moves. Crocs was up eight, though I think it was up 14 at one time. Coke, not that Coke, but Coca-Cola. The producer was up 151 bucks today to $1,09. So, again, a lot of jello moving on the plate. But overall, just a quiet day, and there's nothing wrong with quiet.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Costco was up 15 bucks today. on no volume, no news, just moved up. And just not much, you know, again, there were movers here and there. We mentioned to about both meta, Facebook, and Netflix that both gapped down but got defended. We mentioned that yesterday. Netflix up another eight, meta, up three, but now they're going to face a ton of resistance. As we move up at this point in time, we'll see what happens. but for me
Starting point is 00:36:54 I got to mention crypto still topped just letting you know and in fact tracing out what I call ick itch
Starting point is 00:37:06 tracing out potential remember we use the word potential bearish on the crypto you know the Bitcoin that's going to 3.8 million
Starting point is 00:37:17 according to Kathy Wood Tesla which we kind of doubted on the move down seven bucks today remember it moved up Robotaxies. And what did we say to you that day?
Starting point is 00:37:29 You're moving the stock up on Robotaxies in China? Really? And since then, the stock's gone from 198 to 177. Sometimes you just got to be logical. And I'm not saying we're not going to have robotaxies one day, but I ain't getting in them. I was told by somebody in Phoenix, oh, there's a bunch of Waymo's out there, I guess. Not a bunch, but I guess there are some. Or maybe a bunch.
Starting point is 00:37:57 I ain't ever getting in them. And if I see one coming down the road, I'm getting the hell out of the way. I'm sorry. You ever see that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger? I forgot the newbie with the Johnny Cabs. What was that movie? You know, we had to go to Mars? What's the name of that movie?
Starting point is 00:38:13 I'll look that up in a second. Not true lies. I'll figure it out in a second. Hey, up next, more to cover on the markets. I'm Gary. This is the one only investors' edge. Hello, I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM. I recently spoke with IBM's new director of research, Jake Mbeta.
Starting point is 00:39:08 We discussed his vision for the future of quantum computing. At IBM research, what we always do is answer what is the future of computing, whether it's coming up with new algorithms, coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum, or coming up with just how do different accelerators go together. It's our DNA to answer the question of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem for IBM because you kind of need to be? have a legacy of building stuff. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM. I wanted the experience, the culture of building hard things that others have not done before. Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology? There will come a point when it will mature. Right? My cell phone is a mature technology at this point. How far are we from that point with quantum?
Starting point is 00:40:04 By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer. That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem. Starting point is 00:42:09 The movie was Total Recall. And as usual, they did a remake of Total Recall, and it sucked. That first Total Recall movie was great. I love that movie. I've watched that a few times. What's the movie you've watched the most? Do you know? Me?
Starting point is 00:42:39 Shawshank Redemption Number One. I can't begin to tell you. Actually, I think there's a tie. Shawshank Redemption and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Without a doubt, those are the two that I think, I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've watched it. Godfather would probably be number three. I love Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Starting point is 00:43:06 And the one with Sean Connery was good too. The others were good, but those two stood out. Raiders of the Lost Ark, I think, was just great movie, great theater, great entertainment. Yeah, that's about right. I see Shawshank Redemption on. I just turned it on. And it wasn't a big hit.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Just letting you know. It was not a big hit. Okay. A few things of note as we have rallied up a little bit. And this is important. There's still a ton of stocks in bad shape. A ton of stuff. Namely, just I'll mention transports for one.
Starting point is 00:43:56 In terrible shape. And volume. The good news is every time you rally up some leaders, leadership shows up. Leadership does show up. You see it in New Yearly High List. And of course, we're still in earnings season, 12 pages this week. We see where the good reactions are. And of course, we see the bad reactions. And I got like 25 stocks with real bad reactions. And I think probably Ferrari is probably the top one today. Disney's number one, Ferrari's number two. Throughout my history, one of my great edges. And I think people who do what I do, their great edge was not only
Starting point is 00:44:45 measuring price, but the volume behind it with that pattern. And we're going to find out, there's nothing baked in the cake, there's nothing 100%. But the volume has been not much. and today on a little heavier volume could be considered a little bit of a churning day what's churning you rally up for three days they were trying to rally it a little bit today and just start the treadmill
Starting point is 00:45:16 treadmill treadmill treadmill treadmill going no place fast like uh what was that cartoon the Jetsons when he was running on that thing meet George Jetson Jane his wife what's his dog Elroy Boy, I remember that.
Starting point is 00:45:34 Boy, I'm in trouble. Anyway, we'll see. I'm agnostic right now. We're looking for the best. And we'll see what comes of it. And of course, next, the semis. The semis just went from 4,500 to 4,800 and 3 days. But that was after dropping from 4,800 to 4,500 and 2 days.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Today was down 35, which is an absolute no biggie. I have yet to do my scans today. Need to see what comes up. And of course, Nvidia sticks out always like a sore thumb. It was down today, but I'm going to call that a no biggie too as of the second. And as long as it trades above the 50-day moving average, opportunity. If it gets back below, ick. So just stay in gear.
Starting point is 00:46:24 It's a little tricky time now. I think it's probably what I would call not a group I don't know if a great investing environment this second you know how in January boom Nvidia boom meta Microsoft pulled out
Starting point is 00:46:44 few others not sure we're there yet in certain circumstances China looks ripe still a little pullback today which is fine and dandy and there is select amount of stuff out there We'll see. And then I have to mention again, all the talk continues to be what the Fed's going to do next.
Starting point is 00:47:13 And they had this yuts out today, another central banker. By the way, the biggest dove on earth. What's a dove? Oh, love the printing of money, love zero percent interest rates. Now all he does is talk tough about how we need to keep rates higher. So he's kind of like contradicting somebody today. Whatever. Neil Cash Carey is the guy's name.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Whatever. If the 10-year yield rises up back to 4-7 and higher, it'll be a headwind. If the 10-year yield stays down, and it's come down from, I'll tell you this, from 4737, it closed today at 4473, though it was 4-4-2-3. That's what we're going to watch most. It has been the driving force by far, and it nauseates us that the market's, still makes a move on this Fed, who ease monetary policy last week in the midst of what he admits is higher inflation. Why? They're political. Human nature says he's political. There's an election. He knows Trump is going to fire his butt. He knows he can last with Biden. Human nature. And in case
Starting point is 00:48:34 you don't know, you can ease monetary policy, not by lowering rates, but he lowered the amount of unprinting of is printed money. They were lowering it by $60 billion a month, which is the right thing to do. Now they're lowering it to $25, and that is easing monetary policy. And that's why rates did what they did. We keep getting asked about the debt and the bond market. Well, I think the bond market has done nothing but normalize from the Fed, stop the interference of their printed money. And I think we're in these levels that I think are not, that if they stay here, we're okay. But with the out-of-control spending in Washington, the easing monetary policy again, and price is still up, I stay worried. Just remember, they don't know what the hell they're doing.
Starting point is 00:49:29 They are the luckiest people on earth that they have us. Yet they disrespect us. We're just marks. And all they do is market themselves during vote season. I wish we'd all recognize that. Hey, tomorrow, I'm not sure TV, but we'll be here at same time. You have a great evening, drive carefully when you get home, do like we do. Quite simple.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. I promise. Always a pleasure you're listening. Hope we are helping. Stay well.
