Starting point is 00:00:48 Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's Tuesday, November. Let me get out my 14th, 2023. Hope you having a good day. In case you don't know, this is a show about you and everything that affects you. The economy, your jobs, the markets, your money, housing, unemployment, taxes, deficit, spending, scam, shams, corruption, you name it, we cover it. We're dead serious about it with a little comedy injected.
Starting point is 00:01:20 But these days, no reason for it to have too much comedy. And as you know, we've been starting to show every day on the latest on Israel. we're just letting you know. And I think we have a decent ear to the ground. Don't ask me why or how. We just think we do. We're nothing special, but we think we have a pretty good ear. I don't know about today or tomorrow,
Starting point is 00:01:50 but I'm pretty sure a deal is afoot for the women and children, hostages. What the deal is, I don't. don't know, but I would venture to guess it would be an exchange of prisoners and probably women. We'll see what happens. On Washington, D.C. Mall today, I'm looking at the pictures of it, and I think I can have a good guess that there are 100,000 people.
Starting point is 00:02:33 on the mall in D.C. for Israel today. And what's interesting, and I do have to bring this up and I pull no punches, nobody's calling for anybody's death. Nobody's cursing others out. Nobody has vileness and language in language. Nobody's calling for destruction or from the river to the sea. which, by the way, is calling for the death of every Jew and the state of Israel, meaning up yours, Ms. Talib, and it's good to see.
Starting point is 00:03:21 We have now found out where these young people are learning a whole load of bull crap, and hopefully one day these young people will, Go visit Israel and go see what it's about and get a little dose of realism and not the lies that have been thrown out there for so long. And I must tell you, I feel like I'm a worldly person. I had no idea. I had no idea this was out there. It's like the climate hoax. People protesting for the climate.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Little do they know they're being scammed. But they're voracious and they'll yell and scream. And if I ever get into a conversation with them and ask them, so let me ask you a question. What do you want them to do? Al Gore 17 years ago said we had 10 years. and Al Gore's made himself a couple of hundred million dollars off of the climate since. John Kerry is running around the world on a private jet, but telling us we have to conserve.
Starting point is 00:05:04 This is who you follow? And by the way, do you think we can stop hurricanes or the wind and the rain and the cold? And then I would show them the front page covers and articles for many years ago about global cooling. The scientist told us if we don't believe them about global cooling, we all suck. And then it warmed up. So they changed it to global warming. And then there were a couple of years where there were blizzards around the globe in winter. Big blizzards. And then they all went into a room and said, oh, we got to change tactics here. So they came up with climate change so they can never be wrong. And somehow they've been able to convince
Starting point is 00:06:01 people that they can stop hurricanes if hurricanes came. It's amazing to watch. By the way, we had a very docile hurricane season here in Florida this year. Hey, what happened? Oh, that's right. There were tornadoes in Kansas. But that's where tornado alley is. The climate's always changing. We can't change it. You know what we can do? All of us work on the environment, but not by shutting down the world and making millionaires into billionaires.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Al Gore's a con artist, and he's made himself wealthy beyond wealthy with the con. Oh, but don't you see the weather is more this than that and the weather's done this more than that and the fire, I got news for you. Spend five minutes of your time going through the history of weather, and you will see we have always had moments that were extreme, that went to not extreme, and back to extreme and not extreme,
Starting point is 00:07:21 and there's nothing we can do about it. Should we use less carbon? Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm all for it. What I'm not for is for Joe Biden to hand out 380 billion of our tax tax to a guy named John Podesta, a Democratic hack for climate. And you know where that's going to.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Friends, relatives, donors. Gary, so why are you bringing this up? Why? Because once a lie gets around the world, it just keeps going and going. This is what's happened with Israel and the Jewish state. And I'm trying to tell you, it's all about jealousy. Go to Israel and go visit it. You know, I keep seeing gays against Israel, gays for Palestine, and I seen gays for Hamas.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And I'm thinking to myself, if any gay walked into Palestine and said, I'm gay, you're dead. In Israel, everybody. It doesn't matter who you are, what you are, as long as you live within the rule of law. But you still can't talk with them. You can't argue with them. And I saw somebody asked somebody, so tell us about river to the sea. And they couldn't answer. I go, well, which river and which sea they asked?
Starting point is 00:08:51 They didn't know. That's what we mean by group think, stupid group think, and it just carries and carries and carries. In other words, I don't even know what to tell you. Anyway, that was today. There's like 100,000 people on the mall in D.C. and I have to single somebody out. Anybody know who Hakeem Jeffries is? Well, he is the leader of the Democratic Party.
Starting point is 00:09:19 He would be the Speaker of the House if the Dems had the House. And I watched him today, and I must tell you, I'm not in his camp on a lot of policy. He is a Democrat. He's lefty. And I watched him today, and I saw him today, stand up there for Israel 1,000%
Starting point is 00:09:47 in the face of a bunch of creeps in his party supporting the bad guys so to Hakeem Jeffries well done my friend I'd shake his hand and this is a man I would disagree with
Starting point is 00:10:05 on nine out of ten things maybe nine and a half good to see remember we have no buy We want good policy, good people, and no BS. That's our thought process. All right, that's that. Now back to our regular programming, and ladies and gentlemen, coming into today, we have been telling you, the market has been improving.
Starting point is 00:10:34 It started November 1st with what we call this confirmation day. It's where the market stops going down. It's an identifying mark that we have followed but it's not the end-all be-all. It's just a potential. We started buying on Thursday, November 2nd. Up next, the story.

Symptoms include buying microphones you don't need, explaining RSS feeds to confused relatives, and saying things like, sorry, I can't talk right now, I'm editing audio. If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Sprinker distributes it everywhere people listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin's swears are the next big thing. Even better, Spreaker helps you monetize your show with ads, meaning your podcast might
Starting point is 00:14:11 someday pay for, well, more microphones. Start your show today at spreeker.com. Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Colour. bomb. It doesn't get better than this. So, so, by the way, I had my biggest loss in fantasy league ever this weekend. The team I played against, I think he had the best player in each position. It was one of those weeks. All right, markets.
Starting point is 00:15:08 So, on November 1st, well, let's work backwards. From July to the end of October. nothing but misery from July to the end of October I can tell you flat out I only bought I think this is correct don't quote me 100%
Starting point is 00:15:34 but I'm pretty sure this is correct we own three stocks for a bit of time during that time we made money on two I think we lost eight cents on another and by the way they were mega cap tech and we dropped down and I will tell you
Starting point is 00:15:55 that Friday, October 27th was a miserable day. We come back in Monday, which would be the 30th, and it was an okay day, and the 31st was a good day. But then that Wednesday, the first, the first, is what we call a confirming follow-through day. It just means that the potential for a market term. is at hand. But in order to really get going, you need good looking stocks. And as we said to you during that time, it was just as narrow as now it can be. Every day we would say to you on this show, there's no new yearly highs. There's nothing. Oh, and there's a bunch of new yearly lows. But that Wednesday was a start. And I will tell you, on Thursday, we bought into the S&P. and you know we don't usually tell you because we don't want to you know screw you up last thursday
Starting point is 00:17:12 i got scared out of the s&p it was a bad day it was a bad reversal day and near the clothes i got scared out we made money but nothing to you know we're not going to cash big time and then Friday comes in and midday the market's just drifting and then boom they just start ramping the hell out of our favorite big tech names and of course we realized oops and we bought in big names and at this juncture we own five big names and a broad market some broad market index at this juncture. But up until this week, it was better. Remember how we described it for you?
Starting point is 00:18:19 The floor had picked up. The worst areas stopped going down and bounced. That's how we described it to you. We also described it to you by saying, but we want to see stair steps to the upside. What do we mean by that? Well, we just, as we simplify things for you, up trends are made of, up two, down one, up two, down one, up four, down two. Down trends are down two, down four, up two, down four, up two.
Starting point is 00:19:03 So we rallied up off of that November 1st. and for the last few days we sat, notwithstanding Friday's better day. Today, let me add one more thing before I continue. The reason why things got better, simple. What was our other mantra? If interest rates keep going up, the market's going down. If interest rates come down, the market's going up. Well, interest rates were slammed down.
Starting point is 00:19:41 And that's what got the market moving. So we came into today, simply put, came into today for an inflation number. We got an inflation number. And it was better than expected. Even though it was kind of expected because oil prices have gone down markedly recently, the market gaps up, stays up, a stair step up, And there comes your start. And the worst areas that came off the low, sat around for a few days, moved above that stair step.
Starting point is 00:20:35 And let's hope we can be on our way. Now, another part of the equation was, we told you, the best-looking area coming off the low that looked like it really had turned was the housing. stocks. Why? Interest rates down, housing stocks up. Amazingly already, I've got Pulte homes at a new yearly high. It broke out today on volume. Toll brothers, New Yearly High broke out on volume. What? Already? Yeah, already. And they were getting their teeth smacked in. The ITB, which is the housing, up the right side. Very nice. It's home construction and housing.
Starting point is 00:21:31 The XHB, which is home builders, same thing. Beautifully up the right side. The software, ETF, the IGV, closed in a new high, broke out of the range, started at the top in July, off of the back of software. Software names. The S&P broke above handily the recent high of October and now is already moving into the resistance at the end of August, which I got to believe is going to get through. The big banks, the XLF, broke above 34 today, which was an important number.
Starting point is 00:22:21 just remember all these numbers have to stick. The new yearly high list finally picked up today. More names. And in order to do better, you need more doing better. So for the record, a darn good day today. Yields today. Drop 191 to 4441. In other words, we were at 4-6, 3.3.
Starting point is 00:22:55 3-0 or 3-2 and drop 1.91 on the 10-year yield. And one other thing happened today that is of import. That'll be up next. On this, the one-n-only investor's edge. Guys, it's no use putting it off. The best time for an underwear refresh is now. Tommy John Underwear is designed for a perfect fit that stays put all day. Their zero-chafe thanks to four times more stretch than competing brands, and their innovative
Starting point is 00:23:42 horizontal quick-draw fly is a game-changer. With over 30 million pairs sold, there are thousands of men out there more comfortable than you. Don't settle for less. Starting point is 00:24:30 This episode is brought to you by Spreker. The platform responsible for a rapidly spreading condition known as podcast brain. Symptoms include buying microphones you don't need, explaining RSS feeds to confused relatives, and saying things like, sorry, I can't talk right now, I'm editing audio. If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker distributes it everywhere people listen. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin swears are the next big thing.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Even better, Spreaker helps you monetize your show with ads, meaning your podcast. might someday pay for, well, more microphones. Start your show today at spreeker.com. Sprinker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. We're listening to. America is talking. Investors Edge.
Starting point is 00:25:29 He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. So one other. thing happened today that's of import we have been telling you yields up market down oil up market down
Starting point is 00:25:58 and one other thing because of yields being up the dollar is strong well if yields down the dollar if you go look at the u u p it is an et f an exchange traded fund for the u s dollar index that broke down today that's great news so you have ingredients here for higher stock prices you got that you have the technical condition improving mucho today and the potential for higher stock prices we already scanned from 3 30 to 4 p.m. 1500 stocks a massive improvement today in the technical condition as transports stair step up. Industrials stare step up. Materials stare step up.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Big banks stare step up. even the regional banks and big banks. Discretionary stair step up. The Russell 2000, who's the biggest whiner and complainer of small caps for the last bunch of months, if not a long time. Me, the Russell 2000 was up 5% today, broke the down trend line and a stair step up. The mid-caps did the same. The change of complexion that we told you about on the first, the potential change of a complexion has definitively changed into a change of complexion.
Starting point is 00:28:15 The only thing we don't know, and we really don't. I saw somebody today come out and say, where things are going to be at the end of 24, and I just cursed them out at the TV. I can't stand those people. We have no idea how long a rally lasts or a drop lasts or how far it goes. We'll just try and ride it. That's all.
Starting point is 00:28:43 We'll just try and ride it. And what we're going to look to own is the best leading stocks in the market, but also recognize, hey, what's coming on? Like software breaks out today? Wow. And of course, you've had a good move in some. software names into new high ground with more coming on today and what else did we tell you it is incumbent upon you the investor pay attention to that new yearly high list because the things that
Starting point is 00:29:18 break out first have the potential to be the better names notice the word potential you never know so very good day i can't find any fault maybe they can't pull it it back for a day, but it would be constructive. And pullbacks look to be buyable, not rally sellable, because right now, this second, just about everything is making a turn. Just about. There's still plenty that are, eh, and you can tell where the week is. Remember, November 1st, we came on this show.
Starting point is 00:30:14 There was nobody bit more bearish than us. and said we had a confirming day that turns the market and today even more but gary what happens if say tomorrow the 10 year yield which is down to 4.441 stops going down and heads to five back to five well the market's screwed but don't think that's happening we have this little thing about the market when the wheels are in motion they don't tend to just croak the wheels. And they even gave rise to some weird stuff. Tesla was up 13 today, even though their numbers stink.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Their margins are getting squeezed. The EV business ain't living up to what it was. But the market has changed. And for some reason, Tesla is this risk-on thing, so it's rallying up. It closed at 237. It was $2.99 in July. Oh, and by the way, it was 400, two and a half years ago. But even that got on the move.
Starting point is 00:31:38 So when we're done with radio, I already scanned. I'm going to scan again. Make sure I didn't miss anything. But I can tell you, this was a broad-based move in the market today. On top of the broad-based move that happened on the first. on top of last Friday's move late in the day after scaring me out of my S&P on Thursday, which by the way, again, we made money on. Needless to say, a day later, I was pissed off.
Starting point is 00:32:18 But welcome to my world. This ain't easy. Got to work your tail off. You got to work your tail off. and let's just hope we can get a rally for give me a month I'll take a month
Starting point is 00:32:39 and let me repeat this is all because interest rates have tanked and that's a tank going from 5 to 4.44 in a matter a couple weeks that is a tanking I hope that's not my car's horn going off
Starting point is 00:33:03 that's the story if anything changes will let you know but I must tell you pretty darn good action no complaints I'm getting my keys to see if it's my car but I doubt it is it's not
Starting point is 00:33:34 somebody else's we also talk to you about debt and deficits all kinds of crap that's going on out there we'll be paying attention to the market right now we worry about the long term we worry about what's to come we worry about what they're doing in D.C.
Starting point is 00:34:01 We're worried about the potential for a war will pay first and foremost attention to the market which had another improving day to day. Just remember that and the bears will continue to be out will pay no attention.
Starting point is 00:34:20 The bulls, the perma bulls are out saying I told you so, even though they've been wrong so often I can't begin to tell you, you've got to be careful about the charlatans, you know, the ones who pretend to be who they're not. We, we let the markets be our master. And if we can just stay in sync with them, we win. And as you can see, from listening to the show on a daily basis, oh, we stay in sync. Now, like, we. Now, like, let's hope we can get a trend. The longer we can get a trend, the better. The pain in the you-know-what markets are the whipsawing ones. Now, I think we may start a trend. One other note, gold, I'm being asked a lot about it. I think there's better. That's all. I just think there's better.
Starting point is 00:35:29 looking at the movers today in the market, sing a bunch of two and three percent moves. Gold just ain't getting going just yet. If that changes, we'll let you know. One day it may. And if you look at a big long-term monthly on the price of gold, man, if it ever breaks out of the big range, dang. And it's not that far away. But near-term, not doing much for us.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Up next, news of the day and whatever else. Thanks for being here. I'm Gary. Good day. This is the one only Investor's Edge. Guys, it's no use putting it off. Starting point is 00:38:26 Investors Edge with Gary Culper. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. Thanks for being with us today. On a pretty darn good day for the market, we'll take to a few like this a year. We have no idea what Tamara does. All we know is, as we stated, stair steps. Good little step today. On the back of a step down in our dollar against other currencies as well as yields.
Starting point is 00:39:10 And as we have told you time and time again, them be the driving forces. And we mean them be the driving forces. In the news, something that has nothing to do with you and your money, just one of these stories that I'm like, wow and like telling you. It's a sad story, but kind of
Starting point is 00:39:35 there was a hiker in Colorado that's been lost since last month. They found the hiker. His dog was alive and watching over
Starting point is 00:40:01 the hiker that died. two months ago. The dog. It's an amazing story about man and man's best friend. The dog would not move. Stayed there. I don't know how lived in two months in the wilderness. I guess they adapt.
Starting point is 00:40:25 But that for me was, for starters, wow. Nothing to do with you and your money. But having to do it you and your money, you know how we've been telling you, How all of a sudden, everybody is now echoing and mimicking everything we've been telling you for years and years and years. Like all of a sudden it matters now. I can't stand any of these people that have sat around and have said absolutely nothing about it. Oh, an op-ed in the New York Times, on top of the ones we've told you in the last couple of weeks,
Starting point is 00:41:04 America needs a serious talk on how to shrink the deficits. Here's what I have to say to this op-ed. Go screw. I'm so tired of these people that have watched this go on. Watch this corruption. Watch this sleaze by politicians in both sides of the aisle. Go from nothing to $33 trillion, guaranteed to go to $50 trillion. And now we need a serious talk.
Starting point is 00:41:39 They spent 33 trillion bucks more than they were supposed to. Our first trillion of our tax dollars are going towards interest. On top of the scams. On top of the giveaways. And now they're all putting in op-eds. We've been on this thing for years. we have watched the trajectory for years. We have called out both sides for years by name
Starting point is 00:42:14 with Joe Biden leading because he's been there longest. By the way, when Joe Biden got to D.C., this is how bad he is. We had a $500 billion deficit. So except for the four years of Trump, he voted for every dime of voting. It's now $33.3.5 trillion. Joe Biden, the king of deficits. And they don't care.
Starting point is 00:42:43 They're laughing at us. They're giving us the big middle finger. And they're not going to do anything about it. You know, they're telling us they may shut the government this week because of, oh, the debt and deficit. No, they won't. They'll cut a deal. And it's going to go higher and higher and higher and higher. And again, they don't care.
Starting point is 00:43:10 And now all of a sudden these ass clown journalists care, need I say more? In the news, well, we've called out certain states in certain cities. And as you know, I call myself Mr. Logic. And I am. I'm the most logical guy on earth. I am. We're about as logical. What did we tell you when they try to defund the police?
Starting point is 00:43:38 I could go through a thousand things. the latest, and we told you. Oregon, here's the headline. Decriminalized hard drugs. It isn't working. The majority of voters now want to undo a pioneering change as public drug use has become rampant. Really? No crap.
Starting point is 00:44:02 You mean you decriminalized hard drugs, and what happened? Oh, that's right. The drug addicts and the drug dealers and the drug this and that are on the streets, doing meth and fentanyl and dying and falling apart at the seams. We had no idea that was going to happen. And they describe it as people sprawled on sidewalks and using fentanyl because they had no fear of consequence. It's now a common sight in cities such as Eugene and Portland.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Business owners and local leaders are now upset. But so are the liberal voters who hope decriminalization would lead to more people getting help. In reality, few drug users are taken advantage of that new state-funded rehabilitation programs. Duh, we could have told them that. It's just like the simplicity of you tell shoplifters it will not be a felony if you shoplifted under $950. So the shoplifters now go into a store with a calculator and they stop at 949. Actually, 945 just in case they make a mistake. Duh.
Starting point is 00:45:32 But the unfortunate part of that is not just that. But we've been reading about a murder in Home Depot where a guy just beat the crap out of this old man who was one of the greeters or something at the front of Hope Depot, threw him to the ground. He hit his head and died. And now the guy is going to go to jail the rest of his life for murder. He was just shoplifting. So this is what we mean by
