Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Colbom, your host. A thanks for being with us today.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's Thanksgiving week. It's an early Thanksgiving this year. But a big, happy, happy Thanksgiving to you, yours, families, travel safe, take it easy, don't drink too much, don't eat too much, have a great time with your families. It's expecting to be travel nightmares. And as usual, I'll be flying out Wednesday at 7.55 p.m. up to New York, that is going to be interesting.
Starting point is 00:01:24 The good news is I have clear and I have TSA Pre. So if it gets crazy in there, I get in pretty quickly. And that is that. You know, this is a show about everything that affects you. The economy, your jobs, the markets, geopolitical crap, you name it, we cover it. And we really don't pull any punches here. I don't think we have shades of gray. We tell you what we think, we tell you what we believe.
Starting point is 00:01:57 We tell you when we're right, we tell you when we're wrong. But in the markets, we have a little motto, when wrong, be wrong, fast and small. When right, let them run in markets. And then there are some other things that, boy, have we been right. And it wasn't really hard to figure out. And we just want to, we'll get into markets in a few minutes. Just want to cover a few things. First off, Rosalind Carter passed away at the age of 96.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Now, let me make a few statements. Number one, I was not a fan of him as the president. I'm not a fan of him as one of these anti-Israel coddling of the terrorists president and even after. But since he became president, he's lived his life building houses for habitat, for humanity. he didn't pull a Clinton becoming just a bunch of influence peddling money hungry whores and never moved from his house I believe plains Georgia she's 96 he's in his 90s they've been she just went into hospice and died a couple days later he's been in hospice for a while may she rest in peace
Starting point is 00:03:25 and again, Jimmy Carter the president, no fan. Jimmy Carter, the humanitarian, besides his Israel. Well done. Speaking of Israel, we told you so. We told you. Now, when you see all these people parading around, ripping off posters of kidnapped children and women and men, When you see them yelling from the river to the sea, when you have some of them,
Starting point is 00:04:06 Hamas, praising Hamas. When you see all that, what you just need to realize, most of them don't know what river and what sea. Most of them cannot find Israel or Gaza on a map. Most of them really do not care about Palestinians and Palestine. They don't care about the children and the women people. They don't care. And we know this because you do not see them.
Starting point is 00:04:33 You have not seen them yelling and screaming about Russia and Ukraine, what Russia has done. In Syria, hundreds of thousands of dead with chemical weapons. The Uyghurs in China that are taken away and putting internment camps. I can go on and on in the bull crap of these people. So we give them no quarter. They are nothing to us. In case you don't know, I know you see videos of a lot of people, but they really are the minority. Remember, most of us are going about our business.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Most of us are somewhat logical and believe when you behead babies and rape women and as soon as you finish raping them, you shoot them in the head. That's a bad thing. You think? but to my amazement and not so my amazement is the silence of the United Nations, these Israel hating places for whatever reason. And we're not even going to try and figure out what's in these people's brains. Doesn't screw them. Screw them.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Depravity is the privity. Well, we told you, also in the media. You remember the media when George Floyd happened? They were crapping in their pants. Day in and day out, day in and day out, day in and day out, day in and day out, 24-7, 24-7. You know what the media does now? They'll interview somebody from Israel and they'll start out like this.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Sorry to hear what happened on October 7th. But what is Israel doing now? How dare they? I mean, that's really what's been going on. But what we have told you, it's everything they presented to you is an absolute lie. They tried pulling a shtick about the hospital. And they found out that came from the bad guys. And it was the parking lot, not the hospital.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And they were besides themselves. And just remember, the New York Times, without even in one second, put it out headlines. CNN headlines, MSNBC headlines, BBC headlines, headline, headlines. headlines and they carried it and they carried it and then when they found out to be lion sacks a monkey crap a three second and by the way they got the information from Hamas imagine you get your information from rapists murderers terrorists that's who they're getting their information from well here's the latest and we told you so the latest has been how Israel is attacking hospitals. And Israel has to prove themselves. And Israel this and Israel that,
Starting point is 00:07:33 and Israel this and Israel that. And just remember, October 7th people were protesting the day Israel was attacked. And that's how you know. Well, well, they have video of hostages, one of them without a leg, being whisked into the hospital. And doctors and nurses, standing there. So they knew also about what was going on. And Israel has found tunnels under the hospital and massive amounts of ammunition at the hospital. And we are also finding out that these hostages, they bypassed four other hospitals on the way to this hospital from where they abducted these hostages. So this hospital, that Israel is trying to take over and get rid of the bad guys and all the bad stuff
Starting point is 00:08:33 was a headquarters for the terrorists. And the media did not want to report it. They didn't want to go near it. They didn't with this, then that. So finally, they got the videos. And you know what the media is still doing? Well, maybe they, well, maybe. Well, maybe.
Starting point is 00:08:54 And of course, the terrorists are come out and saying, well, we want to treat. We wanted to help the hostages. Oh, let's see. You murdered 1,200 to 1,400 people, but now you want to help the ones that you blew their legs off. Amazing to watch the other comedy, the utter stupidity, the take of some people. It's just laughable.
Starting point is 00:09:21 So everything we have told you has come to fruition. Israel's doing everything possible, just defending their country. and doing everything possible. Do you know that Palestinians are being interviewed and saying it's Hamas's fault, and then they cut off the interview? There's all that going on, but you're not going to know it because of the media is that freaking bad.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Argentina, we segue. Just so you know, Argentina's a basket case, and they had an election, and oh, my goodness gracious, somebody from the right won it. but of course they're called radicals and extremes because if you're on the right you're a radical and extreme but if you're Joe Biden and you have a two trillion dollar deficit you're a moderate so you got this Argentinian guy and who knows if he's going to be good or bad maybe he's going to suck maybe he's crazy maybe he's a lunatic maybe he's going to be terrible I don't know but the media is already after the guy even though Argentina is a kind of
Starting point is 00:10:25 is in the crapper because of people that were Marxists running the joint, high taxes, ridiculous regulations, unbelievable amounts of debt for a small economy. So somebody else to come in, oh, he sucks. He's a radical. This is what we're dealing with. This is how bad it is. So all I ask you, don't even believe me, just do your homework. Just so you know, Fox News started because of this. Fox News could never become as big as they are, and they're not perfect. Up next, we'll put a bow tie on, and then markets, technology. Lots to talk about.

Starting point is 00:14:33 Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. So, just put a bow tie on it. Do your homework. Think logically.
Starting point is 00:14:58 We're not here to tell you what to believe. We're telling you what we believe. You decide for yourself. Just be logical. Just be logical. And when I tell you, the first time I was in Israel, I had to go into bomb shelters six times in 10 days. and I had missiles being taken out over my head.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And I keep reading about occupation and apartheid. Israel has left Gaza in 05. Here, it's yours. It's been occupied by the terrorists. So I don't know it's in people's minds. I have two words. Screw them. I'm not here to tell people what to believe.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Screw him. Let him go protest, go home, watch Schindler's list. applaud when the Nazis kill the Jews and curse out Schindler. I move on. Publix. It's a big supermarket chain here in Florida. I got to tell you, I was reading this story. You know how I tell you guys when you work for another company,
Starting point is 00:16:12 be the best you can be, stand out, work hard, work smarter, work longer, whatever you got to do to be not expendable. I was reading this story here. The CEO of Publix is leaving. He's leaving. His name's Todd Jones. He's stepping away as CEO to become executive chairman of the board. He started in 1980 at Publix as a front service clerk in New Smyrna Beach.
Starting point is 00:16:51 A gentleman by the name of Kevin Murphy, is taking over. He's currently the Publix's president. He'll now be the CEO. He's been working at Public since 1984 as a front service clerk in Margate, Florida. He then became a store manager in 95.
Starting point is 00:17:13 He's now the CEO. That's exactly what we mean. It's exactly what we mean. Front service clerk, that's like the place where you go and return food that wasn't good, or maybe you get your lottery, that's a great story.
Starting point is 00:17:36 You know what it reminds me of? And I mentioned this gentleman to you before. George Caligreides. I don't know what is, I think he's still with Disney, but the last I looked, he was the head of Disney Parks. He started as busing tables. at the contemporary resort at Disney, busing tables,
Starting point is 00:18:06 and then ended up running the... I don't know if you know how big Disney resorts are here in Orlando, Florida. It's humongous. That's what we meant. If there's any two examples... And look, if you own your own company, you own your company,
Starting point is 00:18:29 but most people work for other people or other companies. just wanted to let you know Joe Biden's 81 years old we'll finish with that I got to tell you my father's
Starting point is 00:18:50 192 11 years older than Joe Biden my father could run circles around him I still stand by that I do not think he will be the
Starting point is 00:19:20 nominee going to happen in the next few months. That's my opinion. It's just mine. And we segue again. Thursday, we'll have the best of Gary and Friday the best of Gary and we will be playing our two-part bear market series now. We're not in a bare market right now. We came out of the bearish phase at the end of October. We're in an uptrend right now, the unknown price and time. But Friday, the market closes at one and we don't, you know, we're not going to, we'll play part two. You should listen to it. It explains the characteristics of bare markets, because we'll have one again.
Starting point is 00:20:00 But right now, Enfuego comes to mind. As you know, we always say when the markets go up or down, technology will lead. Well, we're going up right now, and technology is leading. I only own technology. and a bit of the S&Ps. Don't know how long it lasts. Everybody now is waiting on NVIDIA tomorrow and arguably, or not arguably,
Starting point is 00:20:34 the most important stock in the market. I actually think it is taken over right now for Apple. Not as big, not even close. But big influence. I really think this market, the technology, market lifted off when it was announced that invidia is now going to make new chips for china that was a couple of weeks after there was worry about restrictions on nvedia chips for china and away we go nvydia finish it in yearly high today the day before earnings are going to be
Starting point is 00:21:14 announced quite the quite and vizia was at a six-month low two and a half weeks ago. That's how crazy this market is. That's how persistent it has been since the market stopped going down. We have no idea what Nvidia says tomorrow. We have no idea how the market reacts. All we can tell you, dang. Just another strong day for tech and a persistent day. And other things too. Boeing, which was dead money, they've announced some orders. The stock has gone from 176 and getting smoked right before the market bottomed.
Starting point is 00:22:11 It's up 40 bucks since then in a month. That's 260 Dow points. Still way below the highs of a few years ago, but you get in some. Microsoft was up 760 today. There was worry over the weekend about the chat 8 GPT and the guys fired and going. Microsoft hires them. Market was happy. Microsoft double volume today.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Microsoft finishes an all-time high. Facebook up another five. and viti up 11 lamb research 18 KLA's 13 Palo Alto Networks 13 service now 12 I can go on good day up next more in the markets this is the one only investors edge it's no use putting it off the best time for an underwear refresh is now Tommy John underwear is designed for a perfect fit that stays put all day there's zero shape thanks to four times more stretch than competing brands and their innovative horizontal quick draw fly is a game changer. If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker distributes it everywhere people listen,
Starting point is 00:24:59 Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin's swears are the next big thing. Even better, Sprinker helps you monetize your show with ads, meaning your podcast might someday pay for, well, more microphones. Start your show today at spreeker.com. Spreaker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. You're listening to. America is talking. Investors Edge.
Starting point is 00:25:29 He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. And what, once again, to Investors Edge. We're doing a lot of seguing today.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Well, there's just a lot of crap going on, kids. If you go to my Twitter feed, I've been retweeting so much stuff from others about Israel and Jewish states and people that, I don't know, it leaves scratching your head a little bit. It really does. But I really do believe there are just people that hate democracy. They hate it. They're jealous of it. they're pissed off about it and they'll believe anything to make them pissed off and act a certain way and I'll go back to my old line tick tack toe you can never win so why even play I wouldn't even
Starting point is 00:27:01 try to debate any of them convince any of them talk to any of them I'll let them live and drown in their own. I don't even know what word to use. It's just so weird. Empathy, sympathy, compassion. A bunch of these people, I don't think you can spell the words, and I stopped trying to figure it out. Remember, my first time I ever felt it was 14 years old. playing the junior circuit of Florida tennis.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Senesta Beach Hotel. Outside of a hotel there's this restaurant. I was with another tennis player who's black. We went to the restaurant. The sign said selective clientele only. They looked at him first. They laughed. They looked at me second.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Nope. Me being the wise ass that I am, I pulled out the dollars and said, you don't want this? You don't want this? That was 1974. I remember it like yesterday. I remember the woman's face
Starting point is 00:28:29 like it was yesterday and the look she gave me because one was black and one was a Jew. They didn't want our money. And they're a business that thrives on patrons and money.
Starting point is 00:28:55 And they did not want us. Think about that. 1974, two 14-year-olds. We have come a long way. But man, oh man, sometimes you find out, and we are finding out in droves.
Starting point is 00:29:23 By the way, tomorrow we are going to contact the office of Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of Israel, to interview him for this show. We do not know if they will say yes because, you know, we are a Investor's Edge show. Not sure they, but we will try and persuade. Market wrap, segueing again. Oh, the Giants beat Washington, almost as good as being Dallas. Still 3 and 8, but wow, they won. They were trying to lose it at the end of the game, but they ended up winning. So is a better day.
Starting point is 00:30:14 The Market Wrap brought to you by Investment Dashmottles.com. That's Jim Roerbach, one of the great market timers. No great areas with the man you're either in or out of the market was proprietary in. Go check it out. Investment-Models.com. Dowop 203. Was up 270? S&P up 33, NASDAQ 159, NASDAQ 100 up 189. Transports 50. Advanced declines, 27 to 12, 28 to 13 on the New York, 26 to 16 on the NASDAQ. Yields down, dollar oil up a little bit, new highs picking up, but just technology is leading. With a little help from some other friends. That's the story.
Starting point is 00:31:12 The area that I think, I think I know is the most over-owned, over-bought, over-leveraged area in history by Miles doomed to croak when it decides to croak. will be a big croak, acts great here and we own them, until they don't act great. And again, tomorrow will be NVIDIA. And yeah, it matters. It's kind of taken over as the de facto bellwether on tech. I think Apple too. Microsoft, two and a half. That'll be after the close tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:32:02 expectations for $3.37 versus $58 revenue to be up year over year, 130%. Now the question is, are expectations too darn good? We'll find out. All I know is if they weren't reporting tomorrow as the greatest technician on earth, I would have been a buyer today.
Starting point is 00:32:37 But I can't because I don't have the grapefruits to buy right before an earnings report. Not me. I'm not courageous. Markets are tough enough. No thank you. We'll let somebody else be a hero. And we'll see how the market reaction.
Starting point is 00:33:02 tomorrow. But man, oh man, that'd be good looking as we go. The rest of the week, just letting you know, you got Nvidia, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle Outfitters, Dear, Eulet Packard, guess, no guess, Auto Des, Lowe's, Coles, Dick Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Buy, New Analog Devices, Burlington, Abercrombie and Fitch. That'll be the rest of the week. as we head into Thanksgiving. And by the way, I spoke to some people at Publix. Prices are down for a basket of Thanksgiving stuff. But still way up from two years ago, just down a little bit from recent.
Starting point is 00:33:48 And that's good to see. And as I said to you, if you have the ability and if you like, think about doing something for somebody you need absolutely nothing from at this time of year. Thanksgiving. Because I will guarantee you there are plenty of people out there down on their luck that could definitely use a helping hand.
Starting point is 00:34:19 By the way, on another segue, you guys getting a lot of spam calls in the last two weeks a ton more than normal. I am just getting spammed up the wazoo. And you know what it all is? Medicare there. roofing that, it like never ends.
Starting point is 00:34:45 I think I got six today. I don't answer them now. I'm done. You leave a message. And that's a little bit of this, that, and the other thing. And very importantly, you know, when we do these markets, go back and scan towards the last week in October where oil prices and yields were on the 10-year. Look where they are now.
Starting point is 00:35:18 and look where the market is. There is your unadulterated, one-for-one, direct correlation, how long it lasts, how far it goes, don't know. Also got to mention Bitcoin, still strong, still in an uptrend. Same for the Ethereum. But do not forget, there's 30,000 coins that are at zero. We never want you to first. Forget that. Up next.
Starting point is 00:35:57 This, that, and the other thing. Whatever else. This is the one only investors edge. Guys, it's no use putting it off. The best time for an underwear refresh is now. What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for? One, two, ready, go. Investors Edge with Gary Culper. And well, once again to Investors Edge.
Starting point is 00:38:53 The Eagles will be here in Orlando in March, with Steely Dan, we hope. but one half of Staley Dan passed away. The other half has been out with an illness. So I believe they replaced it with Doobie Brothers. But I don't know which Doobie Brothers. But I hear Michael McDonald's there. So we'll be doing that. And I must tell you, I'm going to go see Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:39:20 I got to see what everybody's going nuts over. I am going to go see Taylor Swift. She will be in Miami next year. I know she's going to be in Europe and I was checking to see if I was going to be in Europe at that time because it's much cheaper to see her in Europe but I'm not but I am looking forward because I will be going to Wimbledon this year
Starting point is 00:39:43 in 24 I didn't go in 23 because of my back and they usually have the Hyde Park concerts I doubt she'll do that but hopefully they got some good ones I got to go see what she's I mean, wow. I've been watching video. Wow.
Starting point is 00:40:07 God bless her. Do you know she gave out, it was like a few million bucks bonuses to truckers of her equipment. Like each got a hundred grand at least. I hear also she bought a truck also. Now you're talking. I'd love to meet her one day. She's just, you know, she's just, there are celebrities that are,
Starting point is 00:40:39 and I've met a couple that are just real, can't use the word, seems like just normal down to earth and knows her place. She's like, there got to be a billion. What did her movie do, like quarter billion dollars? I set it on TV last week. If she was a stock, I would be buying the living heck out of her. I can't believe I'm saying it I'm going to go see Taylor Swiftin when she's in Miami
Starting point is 00:41:08 and as usual I will get the best seats in the house and you know it's just me I'm one of those people if I don't for concerts if I'm going I got to be up there I'm pretty good at getting tickets last one I went to I just saw Springsteen
Starting point is 00:41:29 we were in the pit me and the fish man it was great I first time I saw Springsteen was 1980 Lakeland Civic Center I believe maybe 81 maybe 80 played for like three and a half hours was dancing on top of the piano I got to tell you he was just as good this year
Starting point is 00:41:53 and then the rest I got to tell you I don't know who else I can go see all my favorites not around anymore glad I saw him all the only one I did not see was Queen. Never saw Queen. But I hear Queen and Adam Lambert's pretty darn good, but ain't Freddie Mercury. Okay, and Rush.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Neil Perk passes away, and I don't think they're going to tour again. And they can, you know, get a drummer, but they are loyal as can be. And I haven't heard a word. And I get it. All right, so we did a little Argentina. We did a little bit of Publix and Disney. We did a little bit of a lot of bit on Israel and the markets. All I can tell you, kids, I don't know if it changes tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:42:57 We have this line. We have no idea about tomorrow. But man, these technology stocks are in Fuego. They're persistent. The pullbacks have lasted hours if a day since the low. I always get asked what's driving them. I don't care. I read fundamental stories.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Let me give you a great example. Lamb Research. The stock now is coming up the right side, back almost near the highs of recent highs. Just bottomed out. In fact, started turning up on the confirmation day, which was November 1st. That day it closed at 607. It's 719. It's 719.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Not even three weeks. Yet the last two quarters earnings, down 32, down 34, sales down 31 and down 31. And I'm thinking to myself, well, I've got to look. Earnings and sales have got to be getting better. They have to. If they don't get better and the stock keeps going up, It's going to leave valuations in the trees and all hell's going to get paid. So I go look to see if they look to get better.
Starting point is 00:44:29 And they're not. Earnings per share are expected to be $7.6. Down another 30-some-odd percent. Sales are supposed to be $3.7 billion down from $5.3 billion. down another 30%. And I get these little posts on whether guidance is going up or down. And one would hope you'd be seeing guidance going up. It's not.
Starting point is 00:45:04 So what happens if you have a company whose stock goes up, this is not lamb research, but let's say a stock goes up 50%, 100%, But earnings drop 50%. You tell me, that's to be watched. Because there's a hell of a lot of these technology stocks that are going up on the crappiest. Micron! Oh, there are sales of the last four quarters, down 47, down 53, down 57, down 47, down 40. It's at new yearly highs.
Starting point is 00:45:48 I go look at Micron to look at guidance because all they've done is lose money. Their estimates are to lose another buck catching my drift. We'll be on it. Stay tuned. Have a great evening drive carefully. If you're traveling, stay safe. When you get home, especially for Thanksgiving, do like we will. Make sure you hug your family, hug your children.
