Starting point is 00:00:00 For delicious meals, you could go out to eat or spend hours in the kitchen. Or you could just make a Marie Callender's meal. Yeah, you heard me. Marie Callender's classic chicken parmesan bowl is delicious with scratch-made marinera sauce, creamy mozzarella cheese, and no preservatives. It's high in protein with 30 grams per serving. Marie Callender's, what having it all tastes like. Investor's Edge with Gary Coltbaum.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host. A thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's the day before Tuesday, 2004.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Hope you had a good weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, this is serious talk about everything that affects you. with no bias agenda, ulterior motive, and the most important show out there. We've proven it time and time again, whether the guidance through the markets in and out or just what's happened in the world.
Starting point is 00:01:13 We'll keep it up. And if you do not get this radio show in your city, we'll post it at gary tk.com. We'll also post it on a Twitter feed, which is now X, and if you don't follow us on next, you should. We'll also put it on podcast apps. And if you'd like to email me,
Starting point is 00:01:25 just be nice. And as you know, we cover everything. We'll do the elections, the markets, the economy, your job, your industry, everything else under the sun. So let's do the election. As you know, for about two weeks now, we have been saying we would be surprised if Trump loses. We are basing it on two very important factors. Number one, the polls. While we don't believe in the polls, and we think a lot of the polls are weirded out by who they speak to and what they
Starting point is 00:02:01 ask and all that fun stuff. We feel we have a decent feel of what's happened in the last two elections, and that is, Trump was always getting his ass beat, and now he's showing he's ahead in some of these very important swing states, a very small margin, and one would think if you're only up by two tenths, anything is possible. but when he was down by five or six points, if not more, to Hillary Clinton and won. Biden, he was down big, and he almost won. Number two, her whole campaign is on change.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Change what? Herself? She's been vice president for going near four years now. She's going to change what they have done. it makes no sense. Now, I can go through other little factors, but I think those are the two big things. I can tell you that I'm hearing in Philadelphia, the Jewish vote that went 80% for Joe Biden versus Donald Trump is 5050. And if that is correct, that's about 70,000 votes. That gives Pennsylvania to Trump. I can tell you that. But those are little things that you're never sure about the little things.
Starting point is 00:03:37 when Clinton was against Trump, I sarcastically said on this show, I wouldn't be surprised if she loses. I really didn't mean it because they had to convince he was so far behind. I didn't really mean it. With Biden, I came on here and say I wouldn't be surprised if Biden wins because Trump was just pissing off everybody. When you go for an election, you've got to win every vote. You've got to be nice. And it turns out he lost the election. And the amazing part about this one, and as I've said to you, and I've coined it the Ebola virus versus the bubonic plague, here you have Donald Trump that I think has the best chance of winning.
Starting point is 00:04:29 He was out yesterday saying he should have never left the White House when he lost the last election. That should knock him out. Just that. then you have the January 6th. I don't believe in the New York case against him. I think that was a bunch of bull crap. So, you know, we don't pull any punches here. We don't have any bias.
Starting point is 00:04:55 So we'll go in tomorrow and we'll see what happens. I would be surprised if he loses. Simple as that. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins big. I would be very much surprised if she wins big. That's my take. That said, there were a few things we do not want you to forget about all of them. Trump said he would cut the deficit and cut the debt, and he amped it up big time, and took the championship belt away from Barack Obama.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Trump lied a lot. Oh, boy, did he lie a lot. He still is. I heard him say today that Mexico will pay for the tariffs. I want to vomit. We don't want you to forget this. It's going to matter. We don't want you to forget that under Harris Biden, Biden Harris,
Starting point is 00:06:11 they have lied their way through the last three and a half, four years, with the complicit media giving them the leeway to do that. We don't want you to forget that. We don't want you to forget that for three years they said the border was secure and 10 million were on purpose led in, and you know the reason why they want them going to become, they want amnesty, get them to vote and thinking they're going to vote on the Democratic side. Let me be clear that I don't hear very often, but you're going to hear it from me. If the Democrats, if the left, if the Marxist Socialist Party thought that these migrants coming across the border, We're going to vote Republican.
Starting point is 00:06:59 They would have water cannons out knocking them back. Just remember that. They would have German Shepherd dogs chasing them down. Do not forget that. They would be arresting them left and right and deporting the living hell out of them. Do not forget that. For three and a half years,
Starting point is 00:07:26 they have run up the size, scope, reach, rules, regulations, fees, fines, mandates of debt and deficits of government like we have never seen. I would like to let you know, and this is not a typo when I say this to you. Last month, they ran a $487 billion deficit. On purpose, this administration, in order to goose the economy, a gargantuan con on you, the taxpayer, whether you were a Republican or Democrat. $487 billion since the Fiscal Responsibility Act signed, sealed, delivered by Biden Harris, and for whatever freaking reason the Republicans went along with it,
Starting point is 00:08:16 Fiscal Responsibility Act, $4.5 trillion has been added to our debt in 18 months. We don't want you to forget that. They're scammers. They're con artists. They're liars, they're cheaters, they're thieves, and they're doing it through the treasury, and when they don't have enough, they just run it up like there's no tomorrow. We do not want you to forget while this election is going on. The World Bank has misplaced $41 billion in climate change funds,
Starting point is 00:08:55 unaccounted for, and nobody in the media is yelling in. screaming about it. 41 billion tax dollars handed out to who knows who. But they're very rich people now. $41 billion is missing.
Starting point is 00:09:17 We don't want you to forget that. This is your government. But it's the world. It's your government. We don't want you to forget this. We don't want you to forget any of it. A trillion dollars is missing at the Pentagon.
Starting point is 00:09:50 You think I'm kidding? Go look it up. In your city right now, are there any roads or bridges or sidewalks that need work? Any homeless people walk in the streets? Any veterans in need of help? Any children not eating enough? A trillion dollars at the Pentagon is missing.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Do you see 60 minutes yelling and screaming? about it or anybody else. We don't want you to forget any of this. Do you know why we're pissed off? Because they're con artists. They're scammers. And it's all about the money. 41 billion climate funds missing. How much Al Gore get of that? John Kerry get any? $350 billion of our tax dollars given to John Podesta, a democratic hack for climate. Where did that money go to? Where is it? Anybody ask?
Starting point is 00:11:03 Up next. We'll put a little bowtie on it, do the ugly markets today and talk about tomorrow. I'm Gary. This is the one only Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jay Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions. you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Like I get a stomach ache every time that I eat. And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just have a stomachache every day, or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive. We deep dive into your medication. We deep dive into your OTC medication. And then at that point, we can probably identify something that we can change. Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeart Radio.

Whether you're changing careers, starting fresh, or pursuing a lifelong passion, our programs are designed for people who never stop. You bring the fire, APU will fuel the journey.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Learn more at APU. APUS.edu. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality programming. With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And welcome once again to Investors Edge. We don't want you to forget. That outlets like MSNBC compared Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, compared it to the Nazi rally in 1939. We don't want you to forget this. Why? Because the media has covered up so much crap. And it's demoralizing.
Starting point is 00:16:26 It's demoralizing. I can talk so much more. But I'll finish with this. How do you think the media and the Dems would treat Elon Musk if he said he was voting Democrat? He'd be kissing his butt. But since he dares think a different way, he's the Antichrist. I want you to think about Elon Musk for a second. He's created massive monumental wealth for people in his companies.
Starting point is 00:17:02 He bought X, Twitter, and he's lost his butt on Twitter. He paid too much. We said that. But he lets people on Twitter say whatever they want. They can disagree with him, agree with him, whatever. They ripped him this week because he talked about cutting $2 trillion out of the government spending, and they all had crap fits. Imagine.
Starting point is 00:17:36 We do not want you to forget that our government spent $1.8.3. trillion dollars in the year 2000. We don't want you to forget that they spent 4.4 trillion in the year 2019 and we don't want you to forget that this year it's upwards of 7 trillion. And all Musk wants to do is cut it back. How dare he? You slime. I've tweeted to Musk, told him I go work with them. I've said on TV, it's very simple how you balance the budget now. You let the economy catch up and you cut spending half of what it's gone up since the year before COVID. It's gone up $2.6 trillion. You knock it down $1.3.5.7 trillion. You tell me the government can't get by with $5.7 trillion of federal spending.
Starting point is 00:18:37 By the way, that doesn't include state and local. Of course they can. But Jabiden is a Marxist. Kamala Harris is a Marxist. Control freaks. The things they call others is exactly who they are. And of course, the last part of the scam is raise long-term capital gains, unrealized capital gains.
Starting point is 00:19:08 She says, though, oh, we're not going to do unrealized. Yes, she is. They've proposed wealth taxes, corporate taxes, investment taxes higher. We don't want you to forget Barack Obama. And Jonathan Gruber, you can go look at the video right now on Google of Jonathan Gruber saying, we had to lie about Obamacare to the American public because it would not have gotten past. and the reason we were able to lie is because the American public are a bunch of stupid asses. Go look on more than one video.
Starting point is 00:19:50 And I remember saying to you, how is it logical that they can get rid of preexisting condition, put millions up on health care, and have our premiums go down? It was a lie. How are your premiums since Obamacare? I know exactly what your premiums have done. They have skyrocketed. We don't want you to forget any of this because the great con of government, limited government is gone. Bill Clinton once says the era of big government is over.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Boy, he had no idea. And of course, he has sold his soul to massive government people as he says you've got to vote for Kamala Harris. Now, I must tell you, I trust Trump less than I trust the New York Giants offense. I don't trust them. I don't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. Not a lick. And he's proven the trust should not have. So many things he has said and then he says I never said it.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I don't trust him. If he wins, I'll keep fingers crossed that he does the right thing. He says he's going to do something with Elon Musk about controlling government. I'm all in. but then you have this Robert F. Kennedy nut job that wants to take fluoride out of our water. Dr. Robert F. Kennedy. What the hell's with that? So we'll stick with our little, the Ebola virus versus bubonic plague. And whoever wins, we hope they do good things. And I will tell you, I will applaud. We know, and we ain't going to get it from her. but I will applaud Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:21:54 If he comes in, keeps taxes low, regulations down, government size in check, and gets the hell out of our way. Simple as that. I know her. Her whole campaign's a fraud.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Three months before, they changed everything about her, once they knew they were going to select her, once they did the coup of Joe Biden, and she will revert to what she says, my values haven't changed. And God only knows what a leftist extremist from California, IA, will do, or at least try. The good news is, as I said, the Senate's Republican hands. It's a done deal. No chance any other way.
Starting point is 00:22:58 It's a matter of whether they have 51, 52, or 53. They get West Virginia and testers joint. So that should stop her a little bit in her tracks. I have absolutely no feel of the house. The house should be easy. It should have been a lot better, but Trump screwed up midterms with all his selections that were a bunch of doofuses. Do I think we'll know by tomorrow night?
Starting point is 00:23:27 I sure hope so. If he wins, what are the markets do? I gather they have a good reaction. If she wins, what do the markets do? I'm not so sure of a bad reaction because the Republicans are going to have the Senate. We'll just let the market decide no matter what because the market acts like crap right now leading into the election, which takes me to the market. That's up next. On this, the only one, the Investor's Edge.

Starting point is 00:27:00 Learn more at APU.APUS.edu. We're listening to. America is talking. Investors edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb.
Starting point is 00:27:22 It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. All right. Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, uh, Dow was down 257, S&P 16, Nasdaq 60, NASDAQ 169, Transport 63. Advance declines weren't so bad. Small and midcaps are actually up a little bit. It's just, uh, how do I put, well, first off a couple of things. Uh, Nvidia is going into the Dow.
Starting point is 00:28:09 It was only up a buck 35 today, though. And Sherwood Williams is going into the Dow was up about, uh, 4%. coming out of the Dow is Intel and Dow Chemical. Who's been telling you for a year plus Intel's got to come out of the Dow? Yes, that was us and they finally did it. I wonder, didn't say worry, I wonder about putting Nvidia into the Dow with $3.3 trillion market cap, but what the hell do I know? Interesting enough yields came down, but the market also came.
Starting point is 00:28:48 down in the doubt today it was just mushy United Health down 10 that's been on the weaker side the managed care stocks amgen down for no good reaction to earnings Amazon down to two even though it gapped up last week but could not get through the big 200 number American Express 2 and have Goldman Sachs 8 financials a little gimpy here a JP Morgan down a big three that's big for a JP Morgan just mushy NASDAQ was doing better most of the day. I must say that. NASDAQ doing better most of the day.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Still down 59 at the 60 at the close. Was up 50, then dropped and then came back, and then drop into the close. I don't think it matters much. We'll see what the reaction to the election depends on who wins, which by the way, whatever I say, man, it's going to be... tens of thousands, if not less, difference in these states. I'd be surprised if it's a lot more than that. Anything's possible.
Starting point is 00:30:08 If she wins, it's going to be because of the women vote. Oil prices are up to over two bucks today. That's not good. Oil stocks bounced up today. Some retail bounced up pretty good today. No complaints there. With the lower interest rates, housing bounced up, but was way off the highs. The semiconductor's ick.
Starting point is 00:30:31 And I'm watching financials closely. Why? So you've got the semiconductors already not acting very well. They're the most important group financials number two. You don't want to lose the two most important groups. And when I say lose semiconductors are not in this gigantic bare market. They are definitely of the underperformance right now to be watched. I've got about 15 pages of earnings this week.
Starting point is 00:31:06 but most of the biggies are gone. But things like Marriott reported today and was down five bucks. Constellation Energy was down 32 bucks. That was one of those, what do you call it what they do? The AI energy power, whatever, they knocked that thing for a loop. And there's, you know, a bunch of other things coming this week. We'll let you know. My biggest problem with the whole week, how the hell do you have a Fed meeting and announcement on Wednesday the day after the election where I'm hoping we know who won?
Starting point is 00:31:49 Hoping. Do you know there's some states that announced, yeah, we don't think we'll know anything for five days. I'm like, what the hell is with that? I think Florida's like in the top five population and they're saying, oh, we'll know quickly. What the hell's going on with some of these states? it's a pretty darn good question if you ask me on a technical basis you're at some fission cut bait moments with the big indices and what is that the 50 day moving average uh nasdaq is sitting just above the s and p is on it the tao is a little bit below it and there's been some real tao weakness in some names you don't want to lose
Starting point is 00:32:52 Goldman and J.P. Morgan. I'm watching those like a hawk now. Mui Importante, ladies and gentlemen, we'll keep your breast, but not a very good day today for them. Gold up a little bit today. And trending fine, probably a little bit extended, but trending fine. China bounced a little bit, but after an Eiffel Tower move, it is, I don't know if the word's digesting it, but I've yet to get excited back on it. Tesla, big gap to the upside, completely failing now. Gave it all back and now in the middle of the gap. Don't know why. I just know what it's doing.
Starting point is 00:33:53 And a little bit surprised because I thought it'd do better. I am worried about their numbers, though, going forward. earnings are only up nine revenues only up eight and trading it over a hundred times earnings i think that is possibly a part of the equation uh foreign markets getting a little bit more icky i could tell you france market acts terribly but argentine is strong germany looks topy but brazil has been trashed india looks like it's topped out for now though i must tell you India is pretty darn good as an economy. My biggest worry overall remains the debt and the deficits. By far, as I have told you economics 101, the more debt you have usually the lenders are asking for
Starting point is 00:34:54 a higher yield. And do you know how higher yields come from? People selling off bonds because they recognize that. And some of the greatest hedge fund managers of all time are short the bond market. Had a good day today, but trend looks to be on near-term basis, up for yields, down for bonds. Junk bonds also been coming in a little bit also. That's a little bit of story of the day. New yearly highs have contracted. I can tell you there are more new yearly lows on the NASDAQ than new yearly highs right now, which is about the weirdest thing I've ever seen. And it's just, you know what I say to you set-ups? Not a lot of setups right now.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Maybe after the election. And again, we have absolutely no clue how the market reacts to the election on either of them. We'll just let the market decide. I hear everybody say, Trump good are bad. Okay. If that's what they think. I get asked all the time about Apple. I'm a little bit worried.
Starting point is 00:36:14 The suppliers have been. in announcing bad numbers. And Apple, I don't know if you know this, kind of sort of lowered their sales growth. Greatest company on earth, but as a stock, you ain't going anywhere if you don't grow them business and trading over 30 times earnings. Warren Buffett's still selling a bunch, and Warren Buffett says $300 and some odd billion dollars of cash. You should write that down and post it on a board. The dude's been pretty good with time. ultimately and he has built up a cash hoard and continues. I don't know what he sees. Maybe it's just valuations, 25 times earnings for the S&P, when average throughout history is like 17,
Starting point is 00:37:07 and at bad times we've seen under 10, we'll let the market decide. And that's the little bit of the take. I know we're being asked about what if Trump wins, what if she wins, what's going to benefit, I don't know. I'd be careful about trying to extrapolate that. Market will show its hand. Up next, this, that, and the other thing, or whatever else. This is the one only investor's edge. Starting point is 00:41:03 One, two, ready, go. Action! In the Gester's Edge. With Gary Culpa. Da-da-da. Hey. You know, we get, because I do radio and TV, like I'm somebody, but I'm not really. I'm just me.
Starting point is 00:41:51 But we get questions all the time. We've gotten questions about how do you handle family that's pissed off at you because you're voting for a certain person and they're not. You know what we've said on this show. We respect all. We're always amazed we see videos of people cursing each other out because they're voting for this person or that person. Who am I to tell you? We all have our beliefs. We all have our certain.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Listen, there are people out there that are just pure people. Socialists, Marxists. I'd say it to their face. They're Marxists. For some reason, they think government is better than people, even though government is just people. We call them control freaks. We're not going to be pissed,
Starting point is 00:42:49 unless they're running the show and killing us. You vote for them fine. Terrific. We've seen families breaking up, friendships being severed. over them? Think about that. You know, all of them are telling you how much better your life's going to be because of them. Do you really think your life is going to be better because of them?
Starting point is 00:43:22 Think about that. Oh, I know under Trump you didn't have inflation. Terrific. Because of him? Because of us. He says Trump that inflation is caused by massive government's, spending. But he did massive government spending. How come no inflation? It was just a matter of that time. I don't give him credit for that. But as my father says, it was under his watch,
Starting point is 00:43:56 so guess what? He wins. Opportunity economy? Kamala Harris, who's been in government her whole life, is telling us how she's going to give us an opportunity. I don't need your opportunity. Do you? You make your own opportunity. Any of you out there that want to be great at things, you think it's going to be because of Kamala Harris? Am I pronouncing her name right? People get pissed if you pronounce her name wrong.
Starting point is 00:44:31 They call you racist. Opportunity economy. I got news for you. This economy already has all the opportunity. If anything, she kicks opportunity in the teeth. By her proposing, higher corporate taxes, that hurts opportunity. Think about that.
Starting point is 00:44:58 You cut the profits of companies that are doing the hiring. They may, or not, do less hiring. In California, they mandated ridiculously high minimum wage for fast food workers. They cut the hours of fast food workers and fired a bunch and shut some. restaurants opportunity want you to remember that because it's all a con it's all a scam I gave you the numbers you can't hide them I only wish that I was running because there's been so many missed opportunities on all of them and what they have done in the size scope reach control of government over our asses and it's getting worse by the day and one's worse than the next
Starting point is 00:46:00 and trump if he wins going to have to prove that he's not going to pull what he did last time and that's spend like crazy he's going to have to prove that there's tariffs that hurt the farmers he's not going to take our tax dollars and pay them off just like biden paid off student loans You don't know that, do you? It's all of them. My hope is Elon Musk, but I'll make you a bet. You want to bet if Trump wins? Elon Musk won't last with him for six months.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Because Elon Musk will get out the machete and cut government, and Trump's going to be pissed. I hope that's wrong. But I've watched. And as I've said to you, when I was young, I used to go to the dog track all the time, and you bet the dogs on past performance. I'm going by past performance. We head to tomorrow. Whoever wins, we hope they do the right thing. On a scale of 1 to 10, our hope, one and a half.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Why? We're 36 trillion. Counting, $1.1 trillion towards interest each year and worsening. We'll keep our fingers crossed. There is one thing I know about this election. We cannot continue the trajectory we are on. Caused by this administration, that amped up already was a big problem. Brought to you by Trump, before him Obama,
Starting point is 00:48:27 before him Bush. By the way, the left is pissed off at Bush for not taking a stand. Interesting. They used to call him Hitler, now they want to know what he thinks. Don't you love politics? All right, till tomorrow, we'll be back. You have a great evening. Drive carefully. I hope you're voting.
Starting point is 00:48:53 And when you get home, do what we do. Quite simple, make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. I promise. Just remember. We're out for you.
