Starting point is 00:00:33 Investor's Edge with Gary Kaltbaum. Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Kaltbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Kaltbaum, your host day. Thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you are listening. It's Friday.
Starting point is 00:00:51 It's the 8th of November, which means I'll be on another Delta flight up to the northeast tonight. That's what I do every week now. I hope you had a good week. For those of you that voted for the person who did not win, we feel for you. We know the emotions of it. We know some of you are very much neck deep into it. And again, we do feel for you, for those who have won had their candidate win, we hope that the man does great things.
Starting point is 00:01:36 You know where we have stood. You know where we stand. The only thing we care about, we don't care about ours or D's. We care about getting the job done. And that is setting the conditions for everybody to excel and then get the hell out of the way. Pretty simple, right? Anyway, this is the week in review election edition. We will pull no punches on everything we say.
Starting point is 00:02:09 We have been strong and to the point on everything we have been thinking for weeks. When we say this show is about you and everything that affects you, well, whoever is running the country will affect you in very big ways. And we'll tell you why as we move forward. But first, if you do not get this radio show in your city, we'll post it at garyk.com. We'll also post it on our Twitter feed, which is now X. And if you don't follow us on X, you probably should. And if you'd like to email us, you also just be nice. Go ahead and do that.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So we want to start out yesterday. On purpose, and today, on purpose, the, how do I put this? The epilogue. Even though I don't think there's any epilogue because we're going to keep on keeping on, right? And I must tell you, for those of you who did not vote for Trump,
Starting point is 00:03:15 I have figured out over the last three days. You know how I tell you about I do samplings? And very often we've been very right on our samplings, not only in business but in politics. We had said to you, regardless of everything that had been said about him that Trump was winning, we gave you the reasons why. And all the reasons why we gave you is what everybody's now talking about. You've been let down.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Those of you who did not vote for him that voted for the other side, you have been let down. And I try to measure my words very carefully here. And every now and then we will use harsh words. He's been let down by people that are so-called experts and political pundits. You've been let down. and the reason why Donald Trump won
Starting point is 00:04:41 Kamala Harris lost is because these pundits from what I have seen and I've done a deeper dive on it because I really want to understand these things were conning you based on their own jaded opinions they were making things up about the country based on their own thought processes, not the countries,
Starting point is 00:05:15 and they scammed you. And how do I know they scammed you? Not by what they have said before, but what they are saying after. They are telling and claiming that their own peeps, their own race, their own race, their own quote unquote viewers and people are racist, misogynous, dumb. And you know who I'm talking about, people that I've never watched, that I decided to do a deep dive on it. and it is incumbent upon each of every one of you that don't like what just happened. You feel differently and you want things to get better.
Starting point is 00:06:20 In your eyes, not in the other side's eyes, you better start ignoring the Al Sharpton's of the world that is now calling black men misogynist his own race. They're calling Hispanics racist. No, really. They're taking whole swaths of people and putting them down. They've used the word uneducated more than a few dozen times in the last two to three days of the voters. They are saying that America,
Starting point is 00:07:00 got it wrong and America is stupid. That's what they're saying to half the country based on their own thing about Bob's. I'm stunned. I'm amazed. It's your fault. He won. How dare you vote in your best interests? You didn't vote based on your pocketbook.
Starting point is 00:07:42 You voted based on she's a woman. You're a misogynist. You voted based on she's black. You're a racist. That's what they're saying. The people that have been convincing you think you're scum. And they're going to continue to have, they're going to continue to have a seat at the table on your TV.
Starting point is 00:08:10 every day, regardless of how wrong they are, how ignorant they are, how mean they are, how stupid they are, and how they are kicking in the teeth their own constituents and viewers, and you would think the people that are running these shows would kick their asses out. But I'm not so sure that's going to happen. while we were telling you for months how we feel on policy and the candidates, but same to you, we respect every single one of you in your opinions because, hey, who am I to tell you how to feel and what to like and dislike? And the job here and the thought process, we can completely agree to disagree,
Starting point is 00:09:08 but let's be cool about it. Not these pundits. You're dirt. You're scum. You're racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and you're an idiot. That's what they're telling you. Go watch them. I have.
Starting point is 00:09:30 You know when I get into something, I do deep dives. And I'm stunned by it. and unfortunately the media was complicit and even the media is questioning themselves but they never will in other words they'll question themselves for three days and then they'll move on because now they're going to be giving Donald Trump
Starting point is 00:09:55 a colonoscopy 24-7 everything he's going to do or say is going to be wrong you know that right that's how they roll so just letting you know the little post-mortem hasn't changed the late-night TV hosts my goodness gracious the things that come out of their mouth
Starting point is 00:10:20 one worse than the other though I save my real thought on this guy Colbert he's trying to convince you the world is freaking ending a late night comedian that's supposed to let you go to sleep with a smile on your face
Starting point is 00:10:40 is telling you the world is freaking ending. Think about all this. While you're paying Buku bucks for potato chips and butter and milk and eggs and insurance and home insurance and life insurance and auto insurance and education and this, that, and the other thing, they're telling you're an idiot.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Up next, we'll segue, but we'll first put a bow tie on it. This is the one only Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist,
Starting point is 00:12:51 Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches. Like I get a stomachache every time that I eat. And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just have a stomachache every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut,
Starting point is 00:13:18 you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive. We deep dive into your medication. We deep dive into your OTC medication. And then at that point, we can put it. probably identify something that we can change. Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeartRadio.

Starting point is 00:15:13 Learn more at APU.APUS.edu. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working. You're listening to. Hey! promises to be fun. Investors edge. The last bastion of quality programming.
Starting point is 00:15:35 With Gary Coltbaum. It doesn't get better than this. And I want you to remember something. We're the ones that were saying it was the Ebola virus versus the bubonic plague. We were the ones that's saying that on the economy, he's filet mignon and she's spam. We were the ones that were saying, but Trump, where's the presidentialness? and stop saying you didn't lose the last election.
Starting point is 00:16:13 We're the ones that said she's a made-up candidate, that she just changed everything about our whole life for an election. And the reason why when she was asked specific questions, she couldn't answer them because she couldn't show the conviction of who she really is. She's a way leftist lefty. everything about her in the past was about confiscating guns, defunding police, ease up on criminals, everything about her. And of course, with Biden open borders, major debts, major deficits, growth of government, rules, regulations, fees, fines, mandates. And that's why we said to you, Donald Trump on the economy is filet mignon, she spam.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Except we real pissed off at Donald Trump on the debt and deficits. But maybe we have somebody coming to the rescue. Elon Musk. They're supposedly doing a committee on government and efficiency and lowering the spending. My goodness gracious, my wheelhouse. So not only if this comes to fruition, we're talking filet mignon, Chateau-Briand. Chateaubriand, little caviar, bernet sauce, little lobster mac and cheese on the side. Because imagine, we went from potentially raising corporate taxes on top of letting the Trump tax cuts go by-bye.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Raising capital gains taxes, raising the investment tax, you know, that shadow tax, Obama, put in for Obamacare. An unrealized capital gains tax. Oh, but don't worry. It's just for the rich. Two, lowering taxes on maybe a bunch of things. The talk of no taxes on Social Security. Just so you know, we never used to pay taxes on Social Security until I believe the year 90.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Don't quote me on this. late 90s, then all of a sudden we're paying taxes on Social Security. The talk of waiters and waitresses on tips not paying taxes. Firemen and policemen, why would they pay taxes when they're serving us so well? Interesting. And you know, moi, the less out of our pocket and to government's inefficient and effective pockets is a great thing. And to be able to say, balance budgets, holy crap, would that be great? So I'm all in on the economic Trump and we'll see how it goes.
Starting point is 00:19:27 And as we say to you, I am Missouri. Show me. And we hope they show us. Oh, by the way, he hired a 67-year-old grandma as his chief of staff. misogynist Trump be careful of what you're hearing out there kids keep your own interests at heart and I always say to people
Starting point is 00:20:06 because I get so many emails why do you worry about what everybody else thinks I get so many emails about what this pundit said and that pundit said and what this guy said and the conspiracy theorists and you know who they are Why are you listening to these people?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Don't you think they have an agenda and this and that? I got an email from somebody quoting somebody that just got out of jail. Well, guess what just happened in this election? People voted based on how they felt and what they were seeing. Hispanics on the border that we were told will vote in droves for Kamala Harris, voting in droves for Donald Trump. And you know what they said? They didn't say they didn't like a woman or that she's black.
Starting point is 00:21:02 They said that they cry when they go to the supermarket. They say they hate what's going on the border. Wait a man, the Spatic hating what's on the border? Do you know what they're saying? We came here legal. They're coming here illegal. And they're getting food. and shelter and education and credit cards,
Starting point is 00:21:30 excuse me, debit cards with money on it. They were pissed. And the reason why I knew Trump had won at like 830 was because Florida was in such the lead there and he was winning Dade County, the Hispanics. And I'm thinking, oh boy. And I looked at my wife and I said, he's going to blow her out tonight.
Starting point is 00:21:53 It's going to be a landslide. And I texted my friends. They didn't believe me. I texted my son. No, come on. And now they think I'm a genius, but you don't have to be a genius. When you tell a whole group of people lies and they figure it out, guess what happens?
Starting point is 00:22:18 And it happened. And the problem for the left now, as I have been watching, they keep saying their problem is messaging. No, their problem is their beliefs. People are done with your messaging. Enough. Everything I've complained about,
Starting point is 00:22:43 hear about what's happened over the last three and a half years, they're now complaining about. And there's your little bit of post-mortem. We'll cover more next week. as it goes. We'll let you know what Trump's next move is. Overnight, there was an attack in Amsterdam. Israelis were attacked by a bunch of Muslims. They were Muslims.
Starting point is 00:23:11 They were just stating facts. And what's happened is that the people, Amsterdam and Europe, they've allowed a lot of these extreme Muslims to parade around calling for the death of Jews and the death of Israelis. and guess what? They carried it out last night. And now the head of Amsterdam is apologizing profusely. This ain't happened again. They arrested, I think, 70 people.
Starting point is 00:23:36 I heard some Israelis are missing. Israel had ascend in airplanes to go pick them up. They were telling Israelis to stay in their hotel rooms and lock the doors. In the middle of Amsterdam, one of the cities I love to visit. You know what this is an outcome of? I'll finish that up next. and then the markets as they just closed. I'm Gary. This is the one only investors' edge.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. Starting point is 00:27:17 Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with the crowd. is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. So, why would these extreme Muslims think they can get away with attacking Israelis and threatening their lives?
Starting point is 00:27:46 Because they've been allowed to march and scream and yell and hate and all that. And guess what's been going on in the United States? Not a ton of it, but pockets of it. I'm seeing it every night in different cities. Threats of Jews' lives. And how did that come about? Because this administration allowed it to happen on the universities. They became more emboldened.
Starting point is 00:28:15 And I'm worried some of these clowns are going to pull what just happened in Amsterdam. And that's where I'm happy as hell that Trump's going to come in because they ain't going to get away with it with Trump. They've gotten away with it with Biden. There's videos. And by the way, before we start getting emails, what does it have to do with markets? This is everything we do with markets and has everything to do with jobs. These are people running the country. There's videos after videos of Jews on campus having their lives threatened,
Starting point is 00:28:52 being blocked from going to class and going to libraries and being pushed into the corner of buildings and not let out. And this administration said not an effing thing about it. Not once. Find me once. And the people that run these schools were on Capitol Hill, and they were asked about it, and it has to be in context.
Starting point is 00:29:25 And the professors are out there doing it with these animals, threatening lives. And administration said nothing, and what did I say to you? If it was the Ku Klux Klan doing it on blacks, the administration be going nuts! National Guard, military, police, hate crimes, jail, you name it. That's how you get to this point.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Just another reason why at this point I'm happy who he got, and you know me, Ebola virus versus the bubonic plague. But now he's in. And give me a tough guy because we have to stop. We've got to root out racism. By the way, they're calling him a racist now because he wants to control the border. So the number two thing people care about is the border. And they're calling them racist for trying to do something about the border.
Starting point is 00:30:29 I love people. Anyway, we're done with that. The market just closed. That's why we were yapping away on this. But we called it. we called it and I got news for you if they continue to allow these pundits on TV
Starting point is 00:30:46 with their screwball crazy lunatic opinions forget about it you know who got it right for the wrong reasons of course Bernie Sanders he said the reason why the Dems loss is because they have dropped any pretense
Starting point is 00:31:06 about caring about the working class so why would the working class care about them? It's a great line. But he's saying it for a different reason, but it's still point. So the good news is your taxes are not going up. They may be going down. Regulations and mandates and fees and fines over your life. They're not going up.
Starting point is 00:31:37 They may come down. We'll see how it goes. We hope he does great things. That's what we want. We want equal opportunity for everyone, for everyone with no bias on race, creed, colored, gender, denomination. I saw a bunch of trans people already protesting. What are you protesting about? What are you upset about?
Starting point is 00:32:17 He's never done anything against that community. But they've been listening to these freaking pundits that are being told that this, that, and the other thing's going to happen to them. 24-7. That's what's going on. We move on. Dow up 259, was up 450, S&P up 22. NASDAQ only up 17, NASDAQ 100 only up 15. Transports up 143.
Starting point is 00:32:57 advanced declines kind of tightened up a little bit but I must tell you a few things about this market are you ready I'm going to pick it apart for you as we head into the weekend with your little market weekend review let me start out by saying as we always do the avoids a lot of the oils still even though they rallied up some there are good there were some strong oil stocks in pipelines and things like that. But I got it, Warren Buffett stock, Occidental is like New Yearly Lows almost. It'll probably go up tenfold in the next few years because Buffett's pretty good. But a bunch of the oils, bad shape. A bunch of the mainstream semiconductors, just bad shape. The semiconductor equipment stocks like ASML, AMAT, KLAC, LRC, and the others like, like,
Starting point is 00:33:59 Micron, Qualcomm, the suppliers to Apple, SWKS, QRVO, act like crap. Not just not keeping up, but downright bearish. A bunch of the retailers. Let me start with the dollar stores. Housing related retail, not Home Depot and loads of hanging in there. Floor and Decor, William Sonoma, ew. Some of the high-end retail, LVM and the like. Lulu Lemon, trying, but not in great shape.
Starting point is 00:34:34 So a bunch of retail. China. So yesterday I said to you with China, hey, just letting you know, they did this Eiffel Tower move straight up and straight back down, but still above that original gap when China just, you know, started throwing money at everything. And yesterday there was a really good day. And I believe I said to you something to the effect of. I think maybe they put in a low here.
Starting point is 00:35:05 We'll see what tomorrow brings. They just turned it right back down today. And why? China added more to whatever they're trying to do. And from my reading, and I don't know if this is correct or not, because we really only care about outcome, the worry is things are a lot worse there than expected, based on the moves China's doing and how much they are injecting into the system.
Starting point is 00:35:35 So they whack the crap out of Chinese stocks today. And there's just a bunch that have just broken down. That's the best way I can put it. There's just a bunch that have broken down. So now, gold and silver stocks and silver back below the 50 day. Gold, still fine. But under, excuse me, silver is just a little bit. below the 50 day. Just under pressure. Gold fine, but had some pressure this week because of a much
Starting point is 00:36:08 stronger dollar off of the Trump election. But gold stocks ain't happening. Brazil acts terribly. India, which was in a bull market, near term on the bearish side. Anything trading, oh, solars. Talk about yonked. Solar stocks. Wow. Blasted into smithereens continuously over God knows how long. And then consumer-type staples, not all, but food and beverage and household products. Even tobacco that was acting well starting to come in. I don't know what the reason, don't really care, but that area is very.
Starting point is 00:37:07 is bearish at the moment. Looks like they probably topped out utilities and the reits. Not so bad. Of note. Housing stocks under pressure. Most definitely not in the bare market, but under pressure, and you know me,
Starting point is 00:37:27 anything trading below the 50-day moving average is not good news. Anything that gaps to the downside in a bad way on earnings reports. and there was a bunch. These are the avoids. The good news is, overall, good shape. We'll explain that up next on Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script,
Starting point is 00:38:19 the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. Starting point is 00:41:05 Well, what are you waiting for? One, two, ready, go. Action! In the Gester's Edge. With Gary Culper. Um, Fox News, tomorrow morning,
Starting point is 00:41:35 10 a.m. to noon. Neil Cavuto, I am in one of the hours. Not sure which hour. Have no idea what we're going to talk about, but I am on tomorrow. Fox News between 10 a.m. to noon, unless the stories change.
Starting point is 00:41:51 you never know what comes up it happens by the way amd adobe Microsoft Apple relatively just weak just letting you know so some of those big tech names relatively on the weak side we don't own those we only own strength in the Dow a caterpillar was down 15 today after gaping up on the election. Interesting, right before the election, they reported earnings it was gapping down, so maybe that's taking over.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Don't know. McDonald's bounced today, but recently under pressure because of can't have E. coli. So there's different things, different areas that are weak. But we're not throwing cold water. You have gaps to the upside in every major. Indice. Every major indacy. Gaps to the upside. And until that gets violated, we ain't arguing. Simple as that. Extended. But those gaps stand for right now. Gaps to the upside in the financials. Rough day.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Yesterday, kind of right back up today. Of import. New high list because of those gaps immediately overnight go from not much to a crap load. And as I said, bad reactions to earnings. Man, there have been some huge reaction to earnings also. Huge. AX-O-N up $120. today to 590. APP had a big gap up yesterday, up another 44 today, even though it was already crazily
Starting point is 00:44:14 extended yesterday. Tesla gaped up and that is just the Musk Trump thing because certainly Tesla's not doing so great. Guess what? Gapped up up some yesterday? Up another 25 bucks today. And we
Starting point is 00:44:39 repeat, until those gaps are violated, Opportunity, higher. We'll still take it day by day. S&P gaps up. Dow gaps up. Nasdaq, Gaps up. NASDAQ 100. Gaps up.
Starting point is 00:44:58 Industrials, gap up. Discretionary. Gaps up on the election. And as we've stated, rhyme and reason. We have gone from number one, 100% losing the Trump tax cuts. two, we're going to have those Trump tax cuts extended. It's huge. On top of that, there was potential not only have those Trump tax cuts go by-bye, but much more in tax hikes. And we've listed those for you at nauseam. Changes the whole structure of what the market thought would happen or could happen. And that's what you're seeing over a three-day
Starting point is 00:45:47 period. It is the ability of you and I to profit more, which means keeping more of our own money. Businesses, profits improve, keeping more of their money, which lets them hire, easier, invest easier. Also, and I think about this all the time, this admin. administration shot down the JetBlue Spirit Airline merger, saying antitrust. Spirit Airlines almost went bankrupt because of that, and they knew it. They got a lifeline right now and hopefully they stay in shape. But imagine knowing a chance of a company going bankrupt if they don't let the merger and they still shot it down. That, and a more better business environment will be had. They took a ton of our money to hire a ton more IRS because they said the wealthy were cheating, even though they all we do is use their tax code.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Think about all that. That all changes. The IRS is still going to be there, and if you cheat, they're coming after you. And you deserve it. But just a whole different way of thinking about business going forward. And it could be meaningful. And at least the market believes it so far.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Economically sensitive names, good reaction. Financials, good reaction. Interesting that the semis not very good reaction, I'm thinking. they were handing money, hand over fist to them. Intel got a ton, even though they keep failing. So we'll see how it plays out. Still a lot of things are up in the air, but we'll know in time where they're going with policy.
Starting point is 00:48:21 But I do remember Trump when he was president, low taxes and less regulations. I didn't agree with everything, but lower taxes and less regulations. Let's hope next thing up is the Muskman, and that is on the deficits in debt and the asinine growth of government. That'd be one hell of a trifecta. That all said, whew, you all have a great weekend. Drive carefully.
Starting point is 00:48:53 When you get home, do like we do. It's quite simple. Make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. I promise. I'm on my way to the airport.
