Starting point is 00:00:00 On eBay, every find has a story. Like, if you're looking for a vintage ban tea. Not just a tea. The band tea. You wore it everywhere. Until your BFF stole it. Now you're on eBay. And there it is.
Starting point is 00:00:15 Same tea, from the same tour. The things you love have a way of finding their way back to you. Especially on eBay. Where else can you find that mint trading card you searched everywhere for? Or your first car? the one you wished you never sold. It has to be eBay. Shop eBay for millions of fines, each with a story.
Starting point is 00:00:36 eBay, things people love. Investor's Edge with Gary Cultbaum. Straight talk about you and your money. Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host, a thanks for being with us today. Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you are listening. It is Wednesday, July 16th, 2025.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Hope you're having a good day. As always, serious talk on everything that affects you will do the markets, the economy, your job, your industry. What I am calling Trump rules. Not that he rules, but the rules. And I'll explain in a bit. If you don't get this show in your city, this radio show, we'll post it at garyk.com.
Starting point is 00:01:31 also posted on our X feed. It's X. And if you'd like to email us, just be nice. And also post it also on all the podcast apps and lots to cover today. Ladies and gentlemen, I got to start out with, well, let me read one to you. And if you don't mind and not to be upset, I'm not going to give out symbols. I have in front of me a company that's developing an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing air taxi, which the company intends to operate in cities. The stock has gone from 7 to 16 in the last six weeks and actually about the last 10 days, 10 to 16. It's been public since late 2020 and has no sales.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Let me repeat that has no sales. I gather they will have sales somewhere down the road. Don't know when. It's got a $13 billion market cap. I have also a company that designs and deploys advance fission power plants to provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy. This company came out as a SPAC in July of 21. I gather they did the merger in 24. It is gone recently, and by the way, this is this nuclear stuff. It was 10,
Starting point is 00:03:30 last October it's now $64. It has no sales, but it has a market cap of $9 billion. I have another one, and we'll start with the market cap of $13 billion. Came out as a SPAC, and I guess they did emerge. I can't tell when they did a merger, so sorry. They actually do have some sales. Develop small nuclear modular reactor technology. It has some sales, but $13 billion market cap.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And when I say has some sales, not much in the way of sales. Now, I can actually sit here and do a bunch of these. How about here's one, developing next generation solid state lithium metal batteries. for electric vehicles. This company has been public since 2020, went from 8 up to 132, down to 5, excuse me, down to 4. It is rallied quickly up to 11.
Starting point is 00:05:00 It has no sales. It's got a $6 billion market cap. How about, let me throw out another one to you. There you go. Provide software tools and applications for quantum computers. This one's been public since 2008. 17 years of trading in the public domain was a high of $400 in 2008. hit a low recently of 40 cents.
Starting point is 00:05:39 $400 to 40 cents, but it's because it's a talk of the town now, quantum finally, it's rallied up to $18 recently. It's got a $2.6 billion market cap with no sales, even though it's been public for 17 years of no sales, and went down 99%. Let me do a couple more if you don't mind. Here is, and by the way, there's a bunch.
Starting point is 00:06:19 I don't have to reach too far to find them. Here, well, this one tracks quantum computing. Actually, I think I'm going to stop if you don't mind. I don't need to really go too much further. Well, maybe I can. Now we'll stop there. I just highlighted for you several stocks, one that has been public for 17 years
Starting point is 00:06:55 and for 17 years no sales, but it's being hyped and touted right now. Doesn't matter by who. And we are not here to poo-poo anything. Pooh, we're here to tell you our froth and speculation antenna are quite the way up now. We don't have to even tell you about recently some Hong Kong stocks that have gone nuts. I don't know why, but I have one in front of me that came public at 4 in April was 20. two days ago and dropped to two bucks in a day. No sales. How about I have a Malaysian
Starting point is 00:07:54 blood test company that went from two to 15 back down to four? I can't tell if there's any sales, which means there's very little. I bring this up because I get people I don't even know inquiring about companies they don't know about except they are highlighted by whomever and wherever as this hot thing and we have done this exercise with you before through the years and 100 out of 100 times that if the no sales no sales continues after the touting, after the shouting, they all go back to where they came from all of them. So just be careful.
Starting point is 00:09:04 We are not here to tell you what to do. We're not telling you to buy, sell, short, or cover. We're just letting you know there's a lot of no-sale stuff. I'm not even going to call them no-sales crap, which I've done in the past. We're just going to call them no sales companies in industries that are hot right now. Be careful. I just told you there's one that has been public for 17 years with no sales,
Starting point is 00:09:42 and people are buying into it because it's come around. It went from $400 to $40 because 17 years ago, it was hot. Air taxis. And companies that are worth $13 billion with no sales, not only do they have to have sales, but they've got to be able to make money off of those sales. I just want you to remember this.
Starting point is 00:10:23 We like being the voice of reason when all hell is breaking loose around us. and based on, listen carefully, experience, not my experience, the markets experience, the precedent of markets when you have situations that go up in price to any valuation whatsoever with no sales. And we just want to repeat, don't be the last one. one in and I hope you make money off of them if you are playing them. We'll put a little bow tie on that next and then the markets. Trump rules.

Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions
Starting point is 00:12:51 you didn't even know you could ask at the pharmacy counter. In this episode, we are diving into gut health with CVS pharmacist Victoria Motola, who explains why so many of us live with stomach issues we should not accept as normal. A lot of what I see is just like chronic bloating, chronic stomach aches. Like I get a stomachache every time that I eat. And it just becomes like a lifestyle where, oh, yeah, you know, I just have a stomachache every day. Or I'm constantly feeling like gassy. And all of those things are not something that generally, if you have a healthy gut, you should be living with. So that's when we deep dive.
Starting point is 00:13:29 We deep dive into your medication. We deep dive into your OTC medication. And then at that point, we can probably identify something that we can change. Hear the full conversation, plus some fascinating facts about how gut health affects so much more than just your stomach on Beyond the Script, a podcast from CVS Pharmacy and IHeartRadio. Starting point is 00:14:46 Hey, this promises to be fun. Investors Edge. The last bastion of quality. programming with Gary Coltbaum it doesn't get better than this by the way on your cell phones you guys getting a lot of spam I am like the king of spam I don't answer anything and interesting enough a lot of people leave messages you know what I'm getting a lot of messages from to pay off my taxes or to figure out what I'm late in my taxes how did I get on a list I've never owed taxes.
Starting point is 00:15:31 I've always paid on time. I've paid quarterly on time. And I'm also getting a bunch for loans. So there's a bunch of people that I got on a list that they think I'm broke or something. And then, of course, I get the usual, you know, the ones that you get, some just weird stuff. And have you ever looked in your spam folder? Every now and then I'll do that. And I'm thinking to myself,
Starting point is 00:15:56 Does anybody ever answer any of these things? Seriously. I'm in my spam folder and I get spam from the same email addresses a hundred times a week for the wanted Chinese doctor's diabetes secret. There's one. claim your free HP laptop from T-Mobile and an 8 from T-Mobile. How about this one? Your Netflix account will be removed today.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Take action. That ain't from Netflix. And the same email address says to me, get this. Hi, sweetheart. And the next one from the same email address, your system has been infected. And do these people actually... Oh, here's one. No, I can't say this one on radio.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Sorry. Do people actually answer this? I get thousands of this stuff. Thousands and thousands and thousands. Anyway, let's put a bow tie on what I've just said to you. If you can find some of these things, there have been gargantuan moves. But in real time, you are always buying into a company that has no sales.
Starting point is 00:17:36 But I guess it's the no sales that you just can't put a valuation on it so people don't care and they just ride it till it stops and then party over. But I have to tell you, the quantum computing and the nuclear had a big move up, then was squashed, and they're moving back up again. And I saw one today, and this is one thing I do hate. I'm not going to give a symbol. but here's a stock that never traded. It has been out in the public domain since 2012. It's got no sales. It just went from 4 up to 160 back down to 40.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I'm not even going to tell you what they do. And I saw somebody out there today after they bought the stock who has influence, he has influence, tells you he bought it, and the stock went up decently today before it sold off. I hate when I see that. I'm not going to name names on that. So all we're just saying is, be careful. They all go back to where they came from unless we've told you about no sales biotechs that got bought out for $5 billion with no sales. unless, hey, one of these quantum computing companies with no sales,
Starting point is 00:19:09 all of a sudden in a couple years there's 10 billion in sales. We're just letting you know we're in the midst. We're in the midst. Which takes me to Trump rules. So let me tell you what happened today. The market today dropped the 500 points from the open because somebody had to be from the administration leaked out
Starting point is 00:19:48 that the president had sent a letter to Jay Powell that he is out ready to fire him. And the dollar dropped big. The market, as I said, 44-2-36, about 470 Dow points and a bunch of it very quickly. an hour or two later the president's doing a press conference and he's asked about it and he didn't want to answer anything about the letter but he just said that he'll be out in eight months no matter what and we're not looking to fire him I think there probably was a letter and I believe they saw the market tank and probably said
Starting point is 00:20:36 let's just wait the eight months we're okay that's a guess I think I have a new Trump rule whatever is said wait for the second thing that is said and maybe even the third and this is not a rub on him minds are changed stories are change things are change within hours on massive economic policy firing the head of the central bank is massive so going from a letter going out, and of course, guess what happened to the market? Well, the high was 44-236. You went down to 43-758. You closed at 44-254.
Starting point is 00:21:26 You got it all back. Trump rules. I'm learning. Trump rules. And even that two-day crash, even that two-day crash, Trump had the uncertainty on the tariffs, and that started a bearish phase. And then you had the two-day crash
Starting point is 00:21:51 and I'm trying to go backwards and saying what if I was invested, would I be able to hold in a 10% drop of the major indices in two days? I don't think I could have. But Trump rules dictate, wait, it'll change. And of course, on that Monday, they were going to do the pause, but it was leaked. So they said, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And they just waited to Wednesday and did the pause. And now we're waiting for August 1st for all these tariffs that I said, to you yesterday. Am I 100% sure they're going to not do those tariffs? Yeah. They're not going to do those tariffs. Impossibility.
Starting point is 00:22:38 You can't add 50% on things from Brazil, 35% from Canada. We'll go into a worldwide contraction. Trump rules. By the way, this is not a rub on them. I'm just stating some facts. today Trump rules came into effect
Starting point is 00:22:59 within a couple of hours within a couple of hours that can change tomorrow because I got news for you in the last week he's going to fire Jay Powell no he's not he's going to fire Jay Powell no he's not we're sending a letter to fire Jay Powell
Starting point is 00:23:17 no he's not up next the final numbers what we're seeing. This is Investor's Edge. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions

Starting point is 00:25:48 He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on its feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended. You're going to feel better if you talk to him. And well, once again, to Investors Edge. So the Dow was up 231.
Starting point is 00:26:21 The story of the Dow today. Caterpillar Up 8, Amgen, which has been a week. Well, most of the biotechs have been weak. And that just has been bouncing around. No direction at all. That was up five in change. Goldman Sachs, here's a weird one for you. Goldman Sachs reported numbers.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Finished near the highs. $18 swing today with the Trump rules. Finished up six. And on the downside, nothing really does. Amazon was down three. I didn't see any news. After that, there was not anything down. Home Depot was down a buck and change. Oh, wait a minute. Johnson and Johnson? Up nine? On 2% drop in earnings? What the hell's going on there? I don't know. Great company. Can't argue that.
Starting point is 00:27:24 It's up since 2018. We'll call it seven to half years. It's up 10%. total, not including dividends, because it's very tough to grow these businesses. But Johnson and Johnson was up a good 60 Dow points, I guess. Yeah, about 60. S&P up 20, NASDAQ 52, NASDAQ, 100, up 23. The SOX was down 22, but it was down 100 and change. The culprit was ASML Holdings, finished down 68. today. At one time today, it was down 98. All the semiconductor stocks were getting hit pretty
Starting point is 00:28:08 damn good throughout the day, some like a K-L-8C, was down 38 bucks because in sympathy finished down three. That came back strong. So the semis look like and remain in decent stead. A pretty good reversal, notwithstanding very extended here. Anything else that stuck out? Yeah, a few other things. New yearly highs have contracted recently, but things that are sticking out. Palantir hit another little relative high today. On its amazing, $356 billion market cap with about $3 billion in revenues.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Not making this up. 1.4, 2.2.2. About 3.1 billion in revenues has a $356 billion market cap, 100-something-time revenues. Wow. They better grow themselves. A Oracle up 6, man, oh man, that be strong on 4% earnings growth. Robin Hood off of the crypto thing. That's into new high ground today.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Bitcoin had a nice bounce today. Remember yesterday, very rough day for our stuff screen. Better day for the stuff screen. They bounced, not all, but a bunch of the financials today. I'll give you a little story. Yesterday, Black Rock was squashed, squashed on earnings. It was announced today that the administration, is looking to let you put private equity into your 401k.
Starting point is 00:30:10 So BlackRock, KKR, Apollo, Evercore, all had a very good data. Blackstone, I think that's ill. I think that's nuts to put private equity into your retirement accounts. Mui as stupido if you ask me, but hey, we're doing. dealing with a different attitude in this administration, and we'll see where it takes us. Oh, I found another no sales here. I was just looking at a quantum computing thing. And some of these things have been public for years, and people still, once the noise gets going again, they just jump on it again and again and again and again.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Let's see, small and midcaps bounce today after a rough day yesterday. housing bounce today after a rough day yesterday, but mixed bag overall and a lot of the things. Advanced declines, not bad, kind of undid yesterday's ick. China strong yesterday, week today. Gold was smoking to the upside today when the dollar was getting trashed off of this supposed news of Powell. Still finished up, still above the 50 day, but off the highs.
Starting point is 00:31:37 That's the story. Very good rebound off of some nauseating drop. The Big Cap Indices remains in good stead. I'm looking at the, I just look at the SPY, look like it was going to try and roll over today, finished up, and back in the range of the last two weeks. The QQQ did the same. That's the NASDAQ 100.
Starting point is 00:32:14 The Bitcoin got hit hard yesterday. Gaps up today. Remember it trades overnight. Whatever. There's also this signing of this stable coin thing. So there's some things getting on the move because of that. Coinbase. Circle something or other.
Starting point is 00:32:39 that's a good day and I'm also watching new merchandise we're not telling you to buy this we're just letting you know Ferrari you got a 11 month range hit 498 last September hit 509 in February hit 503 in May today on almost two times average volume up three and three quarters percent and looks like it may bust out of the whole range Symbols race, we have not bought it yet. It's thin trader, 300,000 shares a day, but it's $500 stocks, you don't have to buy that many. But at this juncture, it would need to bust out and on volume. So a lot of Jellu moving on the plate today. Again, I mentioned to you the private equity companies, the semis that were blasted early, turn up. very impressed with a KLAC and what it did.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Remember, ASML lowered guidance pretty big. And they are equipment makers. So what opens up down, applied materials, lamb research, KLAC, they rebounded like troopers by the end of the day. It's what you want to see. You know what the avoids are? the managed care, a lot of the oils.
Starting point is 00:34:16 I hope the consumer staples, not all. The tobacco remains strong. Anything breaking the 50 day to the downside, like a lot of software names recently. And hey, we'll see what tomorrow brings. And by the way, me mentioning the Trump thing, it's just the nature of the beast. That's all. It's not a rub on him. I have enough things I dislike and enough things that I love about the guy.
Starting point is 00:34:54 It's just very noisy and kind of expected. I remember his first four years. A lot of that, you're getting it again. Tomorrow be another day. Do I have any other things that are popping up tomorrow? We'll find out during the day. Earning stuff. Just letting you know. Bank America finished down, but really rebounded off early lows. Goldman Sachs, we told you, was down 12, finished up six, rangebound. Morgan Stanley, not great reaction on their earnings. So we're going through earnings as they come out.
Starting point is 00:35:34 It's a slow week this week. A PNC Bank was kind of up a little bit, no biggie. Rest of the week of import GE, Travelers in the Dow, Netflix after the close tomorrow. That'll be important. By the way, estimates for Netflix, they can have a good number. Whether or not the market loves it or hates it, I don't know. Estimates are pretty good. After the close tomorrow of import, Taiwan Semiconductor, that artificial intelligence trade. Seagate Tech, that's been strong.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Auto Nation, Pepsi, Las Vegas Sands, United Airlines. The airlines have been a little bit better. And there you got it. Up next, other news. This is the one only investors at. Hi, I'm Dr. Jake Goodman, host of Beyond the Script, the podcast where I sit down with pharmacists to answer the health questions

Starting point is 00:38:43 What are we waiting for? Well, what are you waiting for? One, two, ready, go. In investors edge with Gary Culper. Hey! Hey, in the news, as we have stated to you, and we mean this. when it comes to politics and people we have no bias we don't see Donald Trump we see policy
Starting point is 00:39:33 we don't see Joe Biden we see policy but we also know who's full of crap we also know who has agendas we also know who's in the tank and what we mean by the tank have you noticed they're now protesting and attacking ice have you noticed that Did you ever see them attacking ice and attempting murder on ice when Obama the king of deportation was doing his thing? No. It's all selective. Do you know that? Do you see these miscreants in the colleges threatening Jewish students and Jews and putting swastikers on temples?
Starting point is 00:40:23 interesting. Do you see them protesting what Russia is doing to Ukraine? What the gangs are doing in Haiti? Whatever you want to call them governments doing in Venezuela just destroying the place and people are missing if they say anything bad about the country. Do you see them protesting that? Hmm, interesting. You don't, do you?
Starting point is 00:40:49 We just want to let you know they're just a bunch of selective schmuck. They're full of it. They're just full of crap. And do you know who incites these idiots? Media like the New York Times. They have the nerve to let this op-ed go. Are you ready for this? New York Times op-ed, the headline,
Starting point is 00:41:20 I was one of Biden's border advisors. Here's how to fix our immigration system. them. So one of Biden's border advisors who led in 10 million people and flew them all across the country at 3 a.m. in the morning and just dropped them off and had the taxpayer pay for them gets the right an op-ed in the New York Times. How about this one? A New York Times. I'm a Genocide Scholar, I know it when I see it. Really? And guess what country he's writing about?
Starting point is 00:42:09 Do you think he's writing about Cuba? North Korea. You know, the North Korean dude who runs the place kills his own family with hellfire missiles. No op-ed on that. You catch in my drift? New York Times. how Netanyahu prolonged the war in Gaza to stay in power.
