Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. I'm Gary Colpom, your host. A thanks for being with us today.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen. Happy that you are listening. It's Tuesday, the 21st, November, 2003, Thursday, Thanksgiving. Everybody have a great Thanksgiving. Enjoy. don't eat too much definitely don't drink too much drive safely travel safely we'll have the best of gary on wednesday and the best of gary on friday we will have two shows there are the bare market shows all the characteristics of bear markets which by the way the low was put in right before
Starting point is 00:01:21 november and we'll see how far it goes and if things change we'll let you know just so you know right now this second, we're waiting for the end-all, be-all, and Vity is reporting earnings. It'll probably come out in the next five minutes, whatever, and we'll let you know. But just so you know, this is serious talk about everything that affects you. And what we like doing here is just tell you what we think. We guide you through the markets. We are the best technicians on earth. We have proven it time and time again.
Starting point is 00:01:51 But we also like telling you what we think. I've given myself the moniker, missed the logic, because I just really do believe I'm the most logical person on earth. I know pat myself on the back, but we don't have any bias. We have no agenda, no ulterior motive. We believe in you, not them. And we call them all out. We have taken so much fire from people who love Trump because we've ripped Trump the shreds here. We have caught so much fire from the left because we've ripped Biden left. and right. We can't stand any of them. And 33 trillion plus, well, we're near in 34 already, of money they were never supposed to spend, dictates all that. But that's not besides the point. What I just want to do today, just in the first segment of this show, is just tell you what I think about things.
Starting point is 00:02:55 When I wake up, I read the Wall Street Journal back to front, front to back. It doesn't mean I read every article, every word, because what I will do is if there's an article, I'll save the article I want to read the whole thing. Believe it or not, New York Times. Every article. Every op-ed, even though I make sure not to eat any food before some of the op-eds, because insanity rules. And then I have a bunch of things that I read that get pushed to me on Twitter,
Starting point is 00:03:30 people that I follow that I trust. And there are a lot less people that I trust because of their bias. We'll get to that in another day. So every now and then we just have a bunch of things on our mind. And we just want to tell you about them and tell you how we feel about them. And as always, you get to decide. And then we'll do all the markets. First and foremost, anybody who Susan Sarandon is?
Starting point is 00:04:11 She's an actress. Whatever. She was out at one of these marches or whatever you want to call them. And she actually said on a mic to the audience, now the Jews know how the Muslims feel. And I'm thinking to myself, now the Jews know how it feels, what is she saying? Is she saying, oh, you see, you deserve it. The Muslims been getting this and that and whatever, and you've been bad. Anyway, her talent agency just dropped her ass.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And I'm thinking to myself, do these people actually think this way? Do they have this hate in their mind? Do they have this racist biased against a whole group of people? The Jews, the Muslims, the this, the that. You know, we have a certain motto here. We don't care what race, what creed, what color. We don't care if you're tall, short, fat, skinny, blonde brunette. We don't care about anything.
Starting point is 00:05:25 If you're a good person, you're a good person. If you're evil, you're evil. It's a shame to see racism of all stripes out there. It's so depressing to watch. And we have just, I don't think it just was created. I think it came out about Jew hating. Anyway, Sarandon. And here's the funny part.
Starting point is 00:05:57 All these people are getting fired. And we don't call for fire. firing, but if you kind of like women getting raped and babies murdered, you probably should get fired. So a whole slew of these people are getting videoed with their racism, and they're getting fired. But you know what's not happening? The WHO, the World Health Organization, it's not saying a word. It's an aside. well we know what happened October 7th but look what Israel's doing now the UN oh we know what happened October 7 looks it do now
Starting point is 00:06:38 where's the me too movement where is the me too movement about the women being raped oh wait it's it's me too unless you're a Jew I mean we're finding out so many things right now it's just quite amazing to watch and we don't like people losing jobs But man, oh man, some of these people have earned it. Unbelievable. My prediction, you see, Hamas is a murderous, animalistic, depraved, scum of the earth, pieces of crap, low-life marketers. So my prediction is on Thanksgiving. They'll let go of hostages.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Not all. They're going to try and market themselves. Look at us, and we're doing it on Thanksgiving. Watch. Watch what happens. Just letting you know. By the way, it's in the works. To what extent I don't know, we'll find out I'd say in the next day.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Watch what happened Thanksgiving. Next, as we segue a little bit away from that. Janet Yellen is our Treasury Secretary. She is supposed to be the protector of our treasure. She works for Joe Biden in unison with her. And I've got to tell you, I lost all hope with Trump because every day was a lie. Every day I would say to you, he might as well just walk out and say his name is John, not Don, because, I mean, he was just lying about everything every day.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And of course, the election and everything that else went on. Look what he ended up doing to himself. He's got 91 counts against him. And all he had to do was shut up. But I don't want to even do really Trump today. I'm just bringing it up because I really do believe the championship belt on lying has been passed from Trump to the Biden administration. And I got to tell you that is one hell of a high bar to get over. Janet Yellen had the nerve today.
Starting point is 00:09:18 She was on CNBC for an interview and she's so lucky I wasn't doing the interview. The nerve that administration that on purpose is running a $2 trillion deficit this year as they skyrocketed spending on a bunch of crap including $380 billion being handed. That's $380 billion to John Podesta, a Democratic hack, to dole out for climate. The president has signed bills that will reduce the deficit by $1 trillion over the next 10 years and propose the budget that reduced deficits by an additional $2.5 trillion while investing in the economy. What a load of gargantuan bull crap. I didn't see the whole interview. I gather they didn't really ask the tough question.
Starting point is 00:10:13 let me explain what she just did. Yeah, we're going to run $10 trillion deficit. It was supposed to be 11. That's what she's saying. It's just from our Treasury Secretary, I don't want to use the word evil when we have things going on with Hamas. But what they are doing is such a financial sin,
Starting point is 00:10:45 such a con being perpetrated on you and I and your families and your kids and the future. Remember what we've told you here, and we don't pull punches. It will blow up. And these people who caused it will be dead or retired somewhere in their cushy layers. Up next, we'll put a bow on it and much more. This is the one only investor's edge. Starting point is 00:12:35 The best time for an underwear refresh is now. Tommy John underwear is designed for a perfect fit that stays put all day. Symptoms include buying microphones you don't need, explaining RSS feeds to confused relatives, and saying things like, sorry, I can't talk right now, I'm editing audio. If this sounds familiar, you're probably already a podcaster. The good news is Spreaker makes the whole process simple. You record your show, upload it once, and Spreaker distributes it everywhere people listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and about a dozen apps your cousin swears are the next big thing.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Even better, Spreaker helps you monetize your show with ads, meaning your podcast might someday pay for, well, more microphones. Start your show today at spreeker.com. Sprinker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells. working you're listening to hey this promises to be fun investors edge the last bastion of quality programming with gary cult bomb it doesn't get better than this i mean i have to tell you i am so p oed with these people i cannot believe that she can say what she said with a straight face they have raised the bar on spending size of government debt and deficits beyond the beyond my worst imaginations.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And she actually does an interview and the shame of it because they can't piss her off or they won't be able to do another interview. There's only one question to be asked of this creep. Treasury Secretary, lying creep. There's only one question to be asked. Treasury Secretary Yellen, who are you trying a kid? But no. Tough questions? That ain't happening.
Starting point is 00:15:51 What else did I read up on today? Well, I just want to let you know this story. It's starting to happen. I don't know to what extent. The share of U.S. home sellers dropping prices now is at a record high. Now, I'm not so sure that's a bad thing yet because fantasy land is going on out there. Because of the 3-8, I call it, J. Powell rigging the hell out of markets, another distortion out of this man, another financial sinner. Nobody wants to sell homes that they have 3% mortgages on to buy another home at 8.
Starting point is 00:16:37 not much is moving. But when there's no inventory prices can go up. I am looking around certain areas around the country. It's fantasy land prices. People are putting up homes at just fantasy land in hopes they hit. I got to tell you, some people have able to sell their homes at fantasy prices. And unfortunately, those people who bought going to pay a price, who knows to what extent, I'm just letting you know if we get to the point
Starting point is 00:17:09 where inventory starts to shoot up and there's still no movement and more and more people are lower in prices well it feeds on itself and that's where you get a big drop in prices to a certain extent because guess what location location location size size
Starting point is 00:17:39 so just let you know that came out. Also want to mention Ford has now scaled back a $3.5 billion battery plant, you know, for electric vehicles. A government that tries to force something onto the people that don't necessarily want it, there's going to be losses for companies that are forced into it, and that's what you're seeing going on. simple as that the inventory of EVs is gargantuan now and prices have been plummeting I've been reading to you about Tesla keeps lower in prices and just so you know it's not that they're nice and generous just remember when you see sales it's not because people are nice and generous it's because they want to move inventory that's how it goes next maybe a little
Starting point is 00:18:47 bit political. Did you see that the All-Star game is now going back to Atlanta in 2025 after being taken away by Atlanta by the Major League Baseball people over the voting, scam. Georgia did nothing wrong with their elections and their voting. Zero. In fact, they had records. It was a con brought to you by a woman named Stacey Abrams who liked Trump whined and complained that she didn't lose the election and blamed it on, but she didn't get whipped on it. Only Trump did. Anyway, Major League Baseball in their generosity is now given the All-Star game to them. It only costs businesses a ton of money. It just shows you what kind of morons are running big companies and corporations. What a huge mistake by Major League Baseball
Starting point is 00:19:48 to pull that All-Star game when Georgia did absolutely nothing wrong. And in fact, a record amount of voters have come out. The lie that voting was being suppressed. What a joke. Next. I got a few things, by the way. Comes under the heading, we told you so. The CEO of GM's driverless car unit,
Starting point is 00:20:20 is resigning. Do you want to know why? Because just what I told you is Mr. Logic. Remember, I'm Mr. Logic. You getting in a driverless car? And I know people have. I've seen people get in driverless cars. Are you?
Starting point is 00:20:43 I'm not. You think I'm getting into a car without a driver? On a highway? On a street? Are you smoking the evil weed? Not Gary. Anyway, that's not taking off.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And I know some areas I hear, I think Phoenix has some, you know, things moving driverless and stuff like that. It ain't ever going to be big. ESG. Anybody want to know what ESG is? ESG. What is ESG? Anybody know? You look it up.
Starting point is 00:21:32 It's environment, social, and government. All kinds of companies were pressured into investing ESG and mutual funds ESG, and they started losing their arse on it. And guess what's happening to the ESG craze now? Bye-bye. Again, ladies and gentlemen, you know what the greatest part of markets should be? Free. Not forced.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And the good news is some of this forced BS is going by the wayside. Good to see. Next, warning for you parents. It's just a warning. I'm just letting you know, and this is a little, you know, teen boys are falling for a Snapchat nude photo scam. Let your sons know. They're being sent, by the way, it's proliferating,
Starting point is 00:22:36 and that's why I'm bringing it up. And we try to cover a lot here. They're being sent nude pictures and being talked into and then being blackmailed. And there's a lot of it going on. You all be smart. Talk to your kids. When I was a kid, I had the game of operation. I think I had a slinky.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I'm pretty sure I had scrabble. Not sure what else I had. Didn't have to worry about any of this. Parents get on it. Up next, the markets. Much more. This is the one only investor's edge. Guys, it's no use putting it off.
Starting point is 00:23:31 The best time for an underwear refresh is now. Tommy John underwear is designed for a perfect fit that stays put all day. Starting point is 00:25:14 Sprinker, because if you're going to talk to yourself for an hour, you might as well publish it. We're listening to America is talking. Investors Edge. He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on his feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. With Gary Colbomb. It comes highly recommended.
Starting point is 00:25:37 You're going to feel better if you talk to him. And welcome once again to Investors Edge. Oh, that's right. I'm not done. So, um, I was reading an opera. and the title of the op-ed was a new approach to taxes that pays its own way. And I'm thinking to myself, ooh, I want to read that. And then I see that the person, the two people who wrote this op-ed, one is a guy named Brian Dees.
Starting point is 00:26:21 He was the director of the National Economic Council for Biden, a couple of years and I'm thinking myself, oh crap, that ain't good. Just another lying sack saying that the deficits are because of tax cuts. Have you ever seen so many people? Seriously, that just can't stand hardworking, successful Americans. They think they really do. They really do believe it's government's money and if they had their way, the paycheck would not go to the employee or to you. It would go to the government first and then dole it out to you. I mean that. So they go on to say that the tax cuts cut the federal government's money. What? Huh? Do they not know it's the people's earn money in the first place, not the government's money? Do they even
Starting point is 00:27:49 consider that? No, no, not at all. They say that the tax system of the 90s would have financed the government we have today. Lie. Brutal lie. Let me explain in simplistic form. And the amazing part about it, we don't even have to really explain, all we have to do is tell you, go Google the words, federal deficits and federal spending throughout the years, and this big chart comes up, and you will see revenues to the government have continued to skyrocket and really skyrocketed once Reagan cut taxes, when Trump cut taxes, when Bush cut taxes. So more money went into the Treasury than ever before. You will also notice that government spending has skyrocketed throughout the years.
Starting point is 00:29:04 And based on what? You ask yourself the question, in the year 2000, spending was 1.8 trillion. It's 6.6 this year. Somebody, please explain to me. What? On what? Oh, it's for entitlements. Wait a minute. Entitlement. Social Security. I thought people are getting back their money that they paid in. Oops, we stole it. They said it was a lockbox. No, they stole it. So they have to go into the workers of today to pay off the retirees. D. So we're just letting you know they put out an op-ed, just big gigantic lies. And all one has to do is just go Google what I just said.
Starting point is 00:30:02 And you will see these people hate you. They love your money and it's never enough. And in order to entice more money, they have. lie. Joe Biden just took the government from $4.4 trillion in spending the year before COVID, six point something this year. It's going to be $6.5 probably. And all of it is debt. Yet they're trying to tell us it's the tax cuts. This guy was the head of Joe Biden's economics. Unbelievable. They go on to say that any new tax benefits should go to lower income families and workers.
Starting point is 00:30:52 I got news for you. We're at the point they don't pay anything. And they keep complaining about the rich, yet they give $7,500 tax break if you buy a very expensive electric vehicle car. By the way, you know what that $7,500 comes from? It's not from Joe Biden's pocket. It's from the taxpayer, the great con. continues. I don't even know what to say. And now I'm done. I covered a bunch. That's what we do. Okay. So, Nvidia reported, and right now, amazingly, is down $2 in the aftermarket, $7 for the day.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Three minutes ago, five minutes ago, I'm sorry, it was down $27. So whatever they said, it dropped originally, and now is rallying. They beat estimates on sales and earnings. The guidance is higher. I don't know why it dropped initially. And we'll see what tomorrow brings. But on today, Dow was down 62. S&P was down 9, NASDAQ 84, NASDAQ 13.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Transports were up 15. Advanced declines not very good today. And more new yearly lows on the NASDAQ that new yearly highs, even though the NASDAQ was at, yearly highs before today or the NASDAQ 100. I'm sorry. Guess what that tells you? Got to be very stock specific. I've stayed very, very big cap. I have no clue how Nvidia finishes the night or opens tomorrow. All I know is it's hardly moving on the earnings. The old highs were hit yesterday. They've now pulled back and we'll see what happens overnight. That's the story. Anybody who
Starting point is 00:33:00 try to bet options on it because they always people game this you know that they'll bet big on options after the close that it's going to move seven they they call implied volatility 7% 8% 9% and it's moved two bucks in the aftermarket they're all going to lose their you know what's if that nothing changes not much i can take from today a pullback's warranted a pullback would be normal nothing wrong with little pullback in the nasdaq nasdaq 100 here what you don't want is a very important name like Nvidia get blasted and it does not look like it's well the original they started blasting it but looks like it's hanging in there and now it's showing even and now it's showing up a buck in the aftermarket oh it's going to be trained like a pinball
Starting point is 00:33:53 machine here in the next hour or two and then they're going to have their update and they're going to put some spin on it and they're going to say this that and the other thing and all's well that ends well and whatever. All I can tell you is their numbers are pretty darn stupendous. The question is, and you're going to be hearing about this a lot, has there been overbooking? By the way, it's up four bucks now in the aftermarket. What does that mean by overbooking?
Starting point is 00:34:22 All these companies worry about access to chips. All these companies worry about, oh, I don't want to be cut short because this great AI thing and then they overbuy and then they realize it and then Nvidia's
Starting point is 00:34:45 revenue and earnings tank for a couple of quarters. We've seen this many times before in the semiconductor industry because I got news for you. I wouldn't want to be a buyer of semiconductors chips for companies because man oh man
Starting point is 00:35:01 the tide turned so often, not only on how many, but man, on price. Go look up D-Rams and S-Rams and Los Angeles Rams, and you'll see what I'm talking about. So that's a little bit of that on the day. Not much else sticks out. There's some good reaction to earnings, bad reaction to earnings. You know what we do every night on those. I do want to mention gold is.
Starting point is 00:35:33 yeah it's peaking a little bit peeking out not peaking topping but we'll see what happens from there
Starting point is 00:35:42 if you look at a monthly on gold a monthly going back years if it breaks out of the big long range
Starting point is 00:35:56 up next this that and the other thing or whatever else I'm Gary this is the one only investors at
Starting point is 00:36:04 guys it's no use putting it off The best time for an underwear refresh is now. Tommy John underwear is designed for a perfect fit that stays put all day. Action!
Starting point is 00:38:25 In the guest's edge. with Gary Culper. Not this past summer, but the summer before, I had one of my great weeks. One of my great weeks without my family, because it's always a great week with my family. I go to Wimbledon every year, and I didn't this year because my back, the spasms were just insane, which, by the way, I'm 100% better. The year before, I'll go to Wimbledon a couple of days, and they have this place called Hyde Park,
Starting point is 00:39:18 and they put these concerts together, and two nights in a row I saw the Eagles and the Rolling Stones. How's that? The Rolling Stones just announced another American tour. I got to take a look. I don't know if I'm going to go. I think I've seen about six times. first time I ever saw him was with Van Halen
Starting point is 00:39:39 at the citrus bowl I think 1980 Mick Jagger I gotta put this up Mick Jagger age Mick Jagger age 80 he's freaking 80
Starting point is 00:40:03 and he was running around like he was 25 if ever you want to just I see so many people of 50 that are so out of shape. At 40 is so out of shape. Go figure out what Mick Jagger's doing. Joe Biden should figure out what Mick Jagger's doing.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Anyway, Unbelievable. Keith Richards is 79. I don't know how that guy's still alive. Aerosmith, Stephen Tyler, 75. You know, I had to go four months without working out because of the back spasms. Do you know what I've been doing every day now? 80 minutes on my incline trainer with an incline anywhere from 6 to 15.
Starting point is 00:40:58 80 minutes a day. Because at my age, if you miss four months of workout, you get like, I just felt getting like thick. And Gary doesn't like thick. So just letting you all know, little inspiration. Go look at Mick Jagger. Go take a, go look at a video of what he's been. doing in concerts at this age. Stunning.
Starting point is 00:41:26 Well done, Mick. By the way, NVIDIA is kind of like, I can't even say it's all over the map. It's down a whopping, not even four bucks in the aftermarket, eight and change for the day. That's it. Which is nothing for that big of a stock,
Starting point is 00:41:42 that over-owned stock, but there will be a question for me in that, wow, unbelievable, gargantuan numbers again, and they raise numbers again, and the stock cannot move out of range. And what I mean out of range, it's below the August highs.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Now, the other, if you want to, you look at it positively, stock just rallied up. But only two, it's August highs. And by the way, only 16 bucks above, it's July highs.
Starting point is 00:42:16 We'll figure it out overnight. Anyway, that's the NVIDIA story. Yields today were flatish. The dollar was flattish. Oil was flattish. We still are wary of oil stocks. We still believe you've got to be very selective and stock specific and be in the most liquid. But we still believe the broad market is better. But you've got to be real stock specific. And what we'll be watching for throughout if we continue. you to bounce higher. What we'll be watching for, believe it or not, first and foremost, what's leading? But secondly, what's really lagging that I don't even have to think about or consider? What I always love doing is washing out, oh, I don't need that. Never even have to look at that one. Oh, that sector forget about. It was easy for me. For how long, for weeks and weeks, I was saying 80 some odd percent of the markets in downtrends, and maybe 2% of the markets
Starting point is 00:43:29 and uptrends, and the other 18%, bleh. A little tougher now. Got to work harder. And we shall. As we speak in videos down, five and a half in the aftermarket, 11 for the day, under the big $500 number, again, they'll do a conference call and say everything's magnificent. We'll see how that reacts in, of course, tomorrow. We will have radio show tomorrow. I'll be on a flight tomorrow late. I take the latest
Starting point is 00:44:03 flight out up to the northeast. Weather's good. That's important. And I have clear in TSA pre. And I'll be up in the northeast coming back to Florida on Sunday. And that's that. So we covered a bunch today. There's just so much going on, kids. As we've stated to you just, Work hard, play hard, take care of your family. Save your money. Don't be crazy. The ability to have access to a lot of capital, that is yours. As you grow older is vital.
Starting point is 00:44:47 You know, we don't do a lot of financial planning talk here, but it is so true. Money isn't everything, but man, oh man, as you get older, the nest egg is vital. And you should be starting early and being smart about it. I bring that up because I was reading a story today about a man who just left $3.8 million to a New Hampshire town who wore threadbare clothes and lived in a rundown mobile home with no TV. but he had 3.8 million because he worked and saved, worked and saved, worked and saved, bought some mutual funds early, and the market did its thing over time. 3.8 million he left. Unbelievable story. I'll post it tonight. And if you want to know what I mean, get the book. the millionaire next door. Have a great evening. Drive carefully.
Starting point is 00:46:11 And when you get home, do like we do, it's quite simple. Make sure you hug your family. Make sure you hug your children. They will feel better. You will feel better. I promise. Until tomorrow. Thanks for joining.
