Investor's Edge with Gary Coltbaum.
Straight talk about you and your money.
Now from the BizTalk Studios, here is Gary Cultbaum.
And welcome once again to Investors Edge.
I'm Gary Coltbaum, your host.
A thanks for being with us today.
Glad you here, ladies and gentlemen, happy that you are listening.
It's August 6th.
It's Thursday.
And I'm so screwed tonight.
I can't begin to tell you.
I'll explain in a second.
I'm traveling.
That's why.
In case you don't know, this is serious talk on everything that affects you.
The markets, the economy, your job, your industry, war, tariffs, ridiculous taxes, debt, deficits, scams and shams.
you know like the lottery and social security.
Social security, how is that a scam?
And if you do not get this radio show in your city,
we will post it at garyk.com.
We'll also post it on our X feed.
And if you don't follow us on X, you should.
And if you'd like to email us,
just be nice and respectful because we'll always be nice and respectful back
unless you like terrorists.
You don't like terrorists, do you?
Good.
Anyway, lots going on, lots to cover.
Elections, lots of talk of socialism, communism, Marxism, and all these isms.
We will strip away all that noise.
There's ongoings in Iran.
The market had a rough day today, and I'm pretty sure you can never tell.
I'm pretty sure a bad day because what were we told two days ago?
Oh, tomorrow or the next day.
And do you know I'm reading stories about bombs going off?
So as I have said to you, I wish they would.
just shut up.
Stop promising.
Stop what I call under-delivering.
And hopefully, sooner rather than later,
they do get a deal done.
And I don't, look, you can think what you want.
Iran has got the upper hand.
I know it, you know it.
even the Trump lovers know it
fine let's get the hell out of there already
we're gaining nothing
we move on
so the
Dow was down 4664
no biggie
it's had a good move up right
the Dow has had a good move up as a recent
right
in fact
last Wednesday
market was crumbling
and since that low
and I'm not making this up
if I can get the number right
we've gone up
2300 points
in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
and by the way, 3 of the days were big gaps
off of news
that piece is at hand
or something like that is at hand
but
I'm going to make a statement
on the Dow.
Number one, Microsoft had another very good day.
In fact, it closed.
It is right now in the aftermarket just above the big $500 number.
Watch Goldman and watch Caterpillar.
Why?
Goldman is 25 times the mover of the Dow than Nike that's in the day.
Now, Caterpillar is 21 times.
A 1% move in Goldman, 1% will be like 70 Dow points.
A 1% move in Nike is like 2.5 Dow points.
And other low price names, let's see, number two in low price is Coke, but double Nike.
And then it goes up from there.
But Walmart's only 111.
That's 11% of Goldman.
Anyway, we're making the point because I have to tell you this second,
and it can change.
Goldman does not act well.
And Caterpillar had a very good reaction to earnings
and on that same day sold off pretty damn good
and is falling.
Just so you know, if these two stocks
drop 10%,
which is a normal correction, right?
If these two stocks drop 10% from here,
be 1,200 Dow points.
If Nike and Coke
drop 10%
be about 80 Dow points.
And of course, vice versa,
if they went up from here.
So I just had to start with that
because for me, that's a sore thumb in the market.
It's quite the sore thumb.
And I really do believe that people in the Dow need to figure that out.
Next, just little tidbits here.
I brought this up to you a couple of times in the past, but it's been updated.
Are you ready for this?
Apple, you know that company, right?
in the past 10 years has bought back $747 billion in stock.
They had enough cash $747 billion to buy back their stock.
This is greater than the market cap of 486 of the 500 companies in the S&P 500.
What also that does, it strengthens earnings per share.
And absolutely helps the stock price.
Good on them.
I would suggest that $747 billion, well, I guess it goes to earnings per share and helps the stock,
but I would have done bigger dividends to the shareholders.
But that's just me.
That's just me.
Next, SpaceX.
It was up six bucks today after getting hit hard yesterday on earnings.
And boy, I kept getting inundated about it.
As we have said to you again, I've got to be repetitive.
When it went up for three days, we had no edge.
When it came down, we had no edge.
One little edge we thought we had is a break of the initial open of the stock at 150.
If it broke that, those people get me out.
And then we stated if it broke the 135 IPO, that would initiate more selling also.
It was now announced today that 900 million shares of stock can now be sold.
And everybody's thinking it's going to go lower.
I have news for you.
Everybody already knew about that $900 million and maybe the drop had to do with that.
Maybe the worst is over.
I don't know.
I have no edge here except to say if it breaks below 105, which it hit today and was really the low a few days ago, you're going to break the 100.
On the upside, we'll see.
For those that own it, and I know there's many of you, I hope it goes higher.
I still believe they're going to have very strong growth going forward.
In case you don't know, Elon Musk has predicted a trillion dollars in revenue by 2030,
and he changed it from
2013. Now, I got
to tell you, that
would be amazing.
I'm going to doubt it.
But who knows?
Up next.
Tidbits throughout the show
on the markets and everything else.
This is the one only Investor's Edge.

That's 888, 422-2-5-5-9. Investment Advisory Services offered through call-bomb capital management.
It's time to switch on the integrator units and get the brain cells working.
You're listening to.
Hey, this promises to be fun.
Investors Edge.
The last bastion of quality programming.
With Gary Coltbaum.
It doesn't get better than this.
So Elon Musk is saying that by 2030, their sales are going to grow 50-fold.
5-0.
That would be ill.
Ill being a positive word, by the way, in my book with that.
50-fold.
Dang.
That's what I have to say about that.
That would be a dang.
Yields.
So there was some sort of leak or somebody BSing today
that the new central banker, Kevin Warsh, the head of the Fed,
is leaning on raising rates, their rates, the next meeting,
which is like five weeks away.
So if he did, if they did, I think that'd be fine.
To go from three and a half to three and three quarters,
when the 10 year yields at 4.7 and 30 years at 5'2, won't do any harm.
Maybe a little headwin for the market, but you know what they would tell the market?
He really cares about inflation.
Now, whether or not that does the trick, I don't know.
But that came out today, which leads me to, yields ticked up pretty decently today.
And I have to tell you, I do not want to see yields break above the recent range, the recent high,
which was about 4.747.
On the 30 year, 5.281.
Higher yields is not a good thing.
Just my opinion.
Oil prices up three bucks in change today.
I am definitively thinking the market today
is a little P-Oed.
Is a little P-Oed.
Why?
The administration came out on Monday and Tuesday,
saying a day, two days,
and now it's number three.
They raise expectations and then disappoint.
Not thrilled.
But we're used to it.
but are the markets.
The next thing I have to mention, earnings.
We always say to you on this show, good stocks will become bad stocks at earnings.
Bad stocks will become good stocks at earnings.
And I have to tell you this earning season, boy, is that yelling.
It is yelling.
Data Dog, a good stock recently.
Down 54 bucks to 229.
Dave, there is a stock with the symbol Dave.
It's been strong, down 65 bucks to 365.
And of course, then you have very weak stocks that got weaker like HubSpot, down 48 bucks to 202,
or App Lovin that's been highly touted, but not recently, because it's already crashed, down $82 to $335.
Yikes.
But on the other end, I bet you've never heard of, well, the symbol is S-I-T-M, Sytym Corp, S-T-Compaconductor.
was it 902 bucks
dropped down to 460 as of recent
before bouncing up
it was up 27% today up
144 bucks
bad to good
notice the question mark
a lot of that
I even found
remember we've been complaining
about IPOs that came out and was slaughtered.
One of them was chime.
IPO came out,
had a high of 45 bucks,
I think was a $30 deal,
dropped down to $16.
Well, it was up 36% today to $31.
Bad to good.
We'll take it.
And what I do now, my screens right in the middle at the bottom, all the stocks that had the
best reaction to earnings.
Today, Parker Hanifan, Ralph Lauren, how about Milacom?
As I mentioned, chime.
How about ATI Inc?
That was up 9% today.
Yeah, 9%.
And then there's plenty of that around.
removed and I have to tell you the amount of movement we have seen in the last two weeks on
earnings reports I call them a holy crap moment because there's a lot of jello moving on the
plate Peloton down 14% today Celsius you ever see that drink in the store and here's a story
nine months ago
at a Publix I was asking them
how's it's selling pretty darn good
from last year
a few months back
stock had gaped down
rallied up
I don't remember exactly what it was
I think maybe February
March I asked again
and they said
it's not growing anymore
it's a real slowdown
from where it was.
Meaning, it was growing
leaps and bounds,
still up a little from where it was,
but neat.
They reported their worst sales
quarter
ever, as far as growth.
Interesting.
Up next, more tidbits.
This is the one only Investors' Edge.
They're listening to.
America is talking.
Investors Edge.
He's got to be pleased with
The crowd is just on its feet here.
He's a Cinderella boy.
With Gary Colbub.
It comes highly recommended.
You're going to feel better if you talk to him.
So, sometimes you can see this stuff coming.
Celsius is a new yearly low.
It's dropped from, what, about 70 bucks down to 23 and change.
And if you ever go in the aisle of where Celsius, they now have prime
and a bunch
I mean everybody's competing
and you know what I've noticed lately
a lot of two for one
a lot of two for one
and you know who's very aggressive
gator rate
noticing these things
it's how you get figured things out sometimes
you see the stuff
you can see it with your own eyes sometimes
what a competitive
environment that is right now
big time
movie competitive.
Anyway, little did I know.
They gave me a great hint on Celsius.
And by the way, they did $818 million of Celsius
in the recent quarter.
Dang, I'm in the wrong business.
Did I say dang?
I'm in the wrong business?
Dang.
What else?
So, you know, you got these primary elections, and I have my own opinions on these things.
And I was watching the president yesterday calling out Marxists and socialists and communists and red scare.
I wish they all learn a lesson.
You're telling oil companies, you're making too much money and you should give
back profits to the people. Classic socialism. You tell gas stations, you tell gas stations,
you better lower your prices or else, even though gas stations get anywhere between one and
three cents on their gas. And just so you know, where do the gas stations make all their money,
the stuff in the stores. I told you, we were going to buy gas stations, me and a buddy,
many years ago and we decided against it.
One of the stories was, this is in Lauderdale.
The owner of the gas station that was trying to sell us one of these gas stations
knew that a big gas station was going to be opening with a great store across the street
and knew it and did not divulge it.
We found out to another party.
Anyway, we let him know what we thought of him.
Anyway, we got a great lesson on it.
The amount of money made on water?
Huge, gargantuan.
Rolling papers.
Huge, gargantuan.
Everything in there.
Huge, gargantuan.
And why do you think these wah-waz and all these other...
By the way, 7-Elevens are now retrofitting there.
7-Elevens around the country to play catch-up?
you walk into a Wawa
versus a big difference
as far as look and feel
and now what do you got that
Buckees out there which is
a lot bigger and insane
ever been to Buckees? Oh my goodness
anyway
the president was attacking
gas stations
and then
oh look at these socialists
you catch in my drift
I don't think this administration
realizes
that a lot of what they're saying is falling on death ears.
Why?
Because hypocrisy.
Walking the walk and talking the talk.
Saying affordability, come on, that's fake.
Really?
Go buy chips and see how the size of the bags.
Go buy some steak and see what you're paying.
Oh, but eggs are down.
I don't think they understand.
And the reason why the socialist, Marxist, communists are gaining flight promises that they're not going to be able to keep, but they're promising to do what the other side has not done.
And maybe not capable of being done, but when you promise it, and that's what's going on.
How do I know this?
I have a very good feel.
I have a very good feel for things.
I'm lucky enough that the people at Fox have had me on for years.
So I get people coming up to me and you know what I do with that?
I engage them.
And I ask them.
And they tell me there's a lot of angst out there.
And it's not fake at all.
It's real deal. It's real world.
A lot of people talk about the case-shaped economy where the wealthy are getting wealthier and the not wealthy are going nowhere.
I don't think that's a mirage. I think it's happening and I have news for you.
Whether you're a billionaire or have $7 in the bank, you're all a vote.
Each one is one vote.
just let you know
that's what I am seeing and feeling out there
I am also seeing and feeling and hearing
people worried about jobs
and their job
for any number of reasons
that's out there
and I tend to not watch anybody's political speech
they all nauseate me
but I watched the president
in the last couple of days.
I also saw an interview with the vice president.
I know they have to market themselves.
I think they're getting bad advice
or not listening to good advice.
That is my take.
Just letting you know.
I believe the have-and-have-n-nots,
and I hate using those terms,
I think the chasm
has been getting wide,
wider. And when voters read about how the presidents made billions and sons getting billions
from the government, you tell me how people are going to vote. And let's be clear,
the vote in November is not for the district or the states. It'll be for or against the top.
and I don't think they're learning any lessons.
We'll see how it plays out.
He did talk a lot about the market.
And he should.
My father always said,
who's ever watch it is under gets the credit or the fault.
So he gets the credit.
That's my little take on what I am seeing out there
and what I am hearing and what I am feeling.
And I have a sneaking suspicion.
A lot of people are not involved in the market.
Just a sneaking suspicion.
Could be wrong, but just the suspicion.
And of course, when they see that Elon Musk is a trillionaire,
which, by the way, terrific.
I think there's a lot of, hey,
what about me?
And I get it.
Credit card debt the highest ever.
Credit card debt, the highest ever.
Usually for a darn good reason.
And something came out today about paycheck to paycheck,
which you hear about all the time.
So I repeat, they're going to need some better advice.
Up next, this, that, and the other thing,
this is the one on the Investor's Edge.
listening to
what are we waiting for
what are you waiting for
one
two
ready
go
and welcome
once again
to Investors Edge
so I'm sitting here
while I'm doing the show
looking at
aftermarket action
and dudes
there is a lot
going on and this is exactly
what we mean
mean about up and down.
Are you ready for some good news on some things?
Get this.
Airbnb closed at 151, it's 164.
Not the biggest one.
Frog, J. Frog, J. Frog, closed at 83.
I got it at 95.
And I believe that'll be a...
Software, that is soft.
Duh, I knew that.
Microchip, semiconductor, and I don't believe it's been doing that well, has gone from 106 to 74, 86 in the aftermarket.
Symbol Net, this has been one of the strongest software names.
closed the 284,
330 in the aftermarket.
Holy crapmatic.
Symbol O-N-T-O.
Onto Innovation, another semi,
that went from 386
down to last Wednesdays
230.
Well, it closed at 268 today,
306 in the aftermarket.
Twilio software closed at 193,
225 in the aftermarket.
A very weak software, actually it's been better.
Atlassian symbol team closed at 110,
139 in the aftermarket.
So dang,
Akamai
closed at 118,
down from 165.
123 in the aftermarket
not so great,
but trade desk.
Holy smokes.
In case you don't know, this was a very heralded
stock. It was 140 bucks.
I believe in end of 24, closed at $17.67.
1362 in the aftermarket.
Ouch.
There's a lot of things.
A lot of great reactions in today's after markets, ladies and gentlemen.
We'll see how that plays out in the morning.
A few software names doing the job.
Dang, dang, dang, is all I got to say.
Some of those moves again.
But we've had them on the upside.
We had them on the downside.
And some crazy drops today also.
I don't need to go through and depress you with the big drops.
But they're out there too.
What we are watching most closely, yields and oil.
Yields and oil, yields and oil.
yields and oil.
And that is going to be dictated on whether they can get this crap done with Iran,
that it looks like they overpromised again.
Oh, you ready for this one?
Symbol, N-T-R-A, NTERRA, a money-losing biotech.
Is it a biotech?
Molecular testing and technology services, not necessarily biotech.
closed at 265, 311 in the aftermarket.
Holy crapmatic.
Got some really good moves.
And I think I covered just about everything.
Wow.
Wow.
Tomorrow, not much.
But in the aftermarket, we're going to have some big movers in the morning
and we'll see how that baby plays out.
What else in tidbit land?
By the way, I get asked where I get all these things.
It's just out there.
On Twitter, I have a thing where I follow certain people when they post something.
It gets pushed to me.
And I get a lot of stuff.
And the big story right now is the Republicans talking, the red scare of communism, is at our doorsteps.
And guess what?
And I don't believe this is hyperbole.
There's some communist winning elections.
And by the way, they have no problem describing themselves,
and they're still winning at least the primaries, which is scary.
Just remember, communism, Marxism, and socialism is all about just control.
Nothing more, nothing less.
it is just control, putting decision-making of so many things in their hands.
Most of them are idiots, have never run businesses ever, and the guy running New York City
has already shown, he's an idiot.
Remember he was going to do free buses?
Well, he stopped that.
Do you know why?
What do you think happens with free buses?
Well, the homeless are going to go on there and live on there.
What are you going to do, force them out?
Nope.
Can't work.
He's now doing supermarkets run by the government at 30% below price.
Really?
Are you going to send your product in there and lose your ass?
It's going to get very interesting into November.
We'll cover it all.
You'll have a great evening drive carefully.
I'm flying out tonight, and I know it's going to be delayed.
And when you get home, do like we do, quite simple.
Make sure you hug your family, hug your children.
They will feel better.
You'll feel better.
I promise they will be well.
Peace out.
All good night.
