Welcome back to It Is What It is.
I'm Treasure Wilson, aka Stat Baby, along with your host, Mace and Cam.
Killer was good, man.
It was good, baby.
How are you?
Chilling, man.
I think they broke my chair, man.
My chair seemed shorter today, man.
I think...
They.
Yeah, man.
Look, me and Statt look the same height on camera.
That's crazy.
I'm just sitting tall, baby.
I'm just sitting tall, man.
The difference is.
That's just sitting tall.
That's all this about, man.
The fix is in.
Every time I'm
with my notes and I know what I'm talking about, the fix is in.
I can't make this up, y'all.
I'm glad y'all got to see it at home.
To add to what you said, how you know what you're talking about,
there actually is a moment, too, again, where you were right.
So I'll just share it with you.
Remember how we were talking about LeBron's contract?
How did you just signed an $8 million dealing?
You're like, well, he's probably getting money.
from somewhere else. Not in a bad way.
Yeah.
But like coincidentally, like it's a big
headline right now. It was reported that he has like a
$15 million deal with
Polymarket. I was like, that is so funny
because you just said you were like, well, you know,
I mean, he's getting money regardless,
but just seeing the headline was funny.
This is where Nick is supposed
to put the bubble up there with the thumbs up.
I'm still waiting on the bubble with
the thumbs up. Nick, whenever
you're going to put it there, just
yo, man. Take your time. I'm
really disappointed in you, Mace.
really, um. Why?
All right, because you should be sharper than that.
She threw a shot at you. She said, there was a moment
you was right.
I would have been offended by that.
That's basically saying, why are you mad at me?
She said, hold on, man.
I'm not in the shit with her. She's a black woman.
Okay, okay.
You know?
If I would have said, some people say she looked like my mother and all of that.
There wasn't even a shot.
That was a shot.
There was a shot.
It definitely was a shot.
No, it was a shot.
No.
Because now, you don't think it's a shot because he's a shot.
said it's a shot but a shot has to mean intent
my intent was not to ditch you.
How you're going to hear that nigga
we've been doing this show three years and say
yo it was a moment. A moment you
was right, right? It's week one
it's week one you know.
You had a little moment he was right
You had a moment.
Man I was trying to throw a lot
and you're supposed to him and that was
so whatever. That was like
you had a spark when you started.
Yeah, yeah man.
That was actually a compliment but I guess I don't
do that anymore. Backhanding, what you call it? Backhand
Back in a compliment.
It wasn't supposed to me, I promise.
But y'all, we got our analysts back, you know, new season week one.
We are joined today by Maurice Claretta.
Moe was good.
Yeah.
What's going on?
I would be excited to see Mo, but I've seen Joe.
So, yo, listen, I was really, really happy.
I was like, yo, Mo come on this week.
But you come in here, a loser.
Damn.
You coming here.
That's bad kind of things all day.
You come in here rank number one when the show started and they're not number one.
So I can't support it, man.
It's week two and you're coming here, Lou Geh, you know.
And then you've lost the game.
And, yo, I was dumb hype.
I was going to hit you with, oh, no, we ain't doing it, man.
We're not celebrating it, man.
Good to see you, brother.
Yeah, pause.
You're coming in cold, man.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, man.
And I'm going to be honest.
I'm going to be honest with you, man.
We cut the dogs off.
You don't say I don't like your,
Raymy have been trying to get on the show with you.
We held off, man,
because she's been ready to bite.
Yeah.
She's been waiting on the other line the whole night.
Yeah, man, so.
Yeah.
But, of course, it's good to see,
but don't come in here, Ohio State,
and we'll talk about something.
Nah, man.
Be humble.
Let me watchy men and then up do that to y'all niggas, man.
And I'm disappointed, man.
Week two, we're supposed to go number one throughout the season,
especially how we lost the Indiana.
Listen, I didn't like the Miami.
I didn't like the Indiana.
Listen, it was a bad end to the season,
and we wanted one in week two.
Disappoint.
But it's a pleasure always to see me, brother.
Look, I was coming in to say, man, good to see y'all, how y'all doing.
I came to show the hotel, the common area room.
You see what I'm saying?
I came in with that energy, man.
I was coming in to say, hey, man, I've been with Mace at church all summer.
I came in and, you know, I get it.
You had to be with Mesa.
I'm not saying the church, but you had to be a way you're spinning right now.
You definitely was with Mason.
You definitely was with that.
You're spending and deflected.
You know what I mean?
Hives me.
Yeah, man.
I don't have a good
for it, man.
That's all I'm saying.
Here we go.
Shout out to Texas.
They beat us.
I was there.
I was on the sideline.
I can't take credit
from Archie Manning.
We have a great team.
We got some stuff to fix.
It's an early season.
That's it.
I put like this.
I'm going to stay like this the whole season.
It's an early season.
We lost.
They beat us on their home field.
That's it.
We lost.
Why, have you cool with it?
He's really not.
You can tell.
That's not.
We love.
I certainly would sound like Maurice.
Who is this? Who is this?
He don't even know how to say it.
Yeah, man.
Because there's nothing that niggas going to be losing this early.
Early, man.
But, you know, I guess it's great sportsmanship.
That's like that shit when they get to be like,
everybody get a trophy.
They get a sport.
When you get to the kids tournament,
they be like, yeah, I guess we all get a trophy.
But good to see, man.
I'm going to tell you, man.
I'm going to tell you, the strategy.
No, the strategy.
I was hoping that I threw y'all off with bragging about the hotel common area that y'all
would forget that we lost.
That was the whole thing.
It's going to spin it.
So the fact that it's called spinning.
It didn't work.
I will say this.
The hotel looks nice.
It looks really good.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah.
So I actually want to discuss an incident that actually happened at the game.
It was actually towards the end when ESPN's Holly Row went to go interview the Texas coach after the win.
He's actually taking a lot of heat for the way he handled the post game interview,
but we actually had the video.
So Nick, if you want to run the video, so we can just have a reaction, get you guys' thoughts
to how it was handled.
That was the clip.
There's a lot of discourse about that right now.
But Maurice, what are your initial thoughts to the way he handled the interview?
And then just the whole aftermath that's happening about it on social media.
Obviously, I didn't see it.
You know, when it actually happened, I seemed like everybody else on social media.
But after being, you know, just close to this stuff.
people be having so much history.
So I think when he had curved her like that,
she may have said something probably last year or the year before
or just may have comments about him,
probably getting fired,
or she may have been somebody.
I don't know if y'all seen it.
One of the coaches, like the big storyline before we went into the game,
was that one of the coaches had left his wife or a stripper,
and that seemed to dominate the headlines.
Like internally, I don't know if she was one of those people
who broke that story and made that like a big thing.
I don't know if it was just like something beforehand,
but to me it was something more to it
because typically post-game,
but coach want to brag or talk about, you know,
we beat the number one team,
and he wanted to give praise to Arch Banning
and coming back in the fourth quarter,
and he's been catching a lot of heat.
So I thought it had some history to it.
I'm pretty sure somebody had found something on social media
and make some sense out of it,
but I thought it had like some history to it.
What was his exact language?
I didn't hear what he actually said.
I think he just threw up like the symbol
and then walked away.
I don't.
Okay.
Make out of a couple words.
I didn't see too much.
But yeah, well, Mosa makes sense.
I don't know.
I don't have no idea, but maybe she's part of a stripper shit.
You know what I'm saying?
One of these Texas coaches got cheated on his wife with a stripper,
maybe she chimed in on it.
Or maybe somebody she knows chimed in on it,
and she's guilty by association.
Especially being in Texas,
you definitely want to do the post-game interview.
So I think it's more to the story like Moss said.
make sense, but I can't put, I don't, I don't know, I don't know, I have no idea.
You can see the way she walked off.
She knew why he did that.
You could, you could just see the body language for us.
Um, I just think he just fucked up.
Like, I don't even think there's more to any story.
I just think like, you should just do the postgame interview.
Or maybe he just wasn't thinking about it at the time, but it's okay to just be like,
damn, yeah, that was kind of rude.
Sorry.
And then just keep it pushing.
I don't think there has to be a whole backstory towards it because she's great at what she,
like, she's a journalist that I really like and respect.
She does a lot of WMBA reporting too.
So I just felt like the situation definitely was blown out of proportion for what happened
during the moment and it didn't need to be that.
It could have just been a simple like, damn, sorry we got a lot going on.
I mean, they're supposed to answer the questions, but it could have been handled very differently,
in my opinion.
But to add to that, it even came to the point where it's now facing criticism to our
Manning because a reporter had asked him about it during a post game interview and he basically had asked him if he'd seen the discourse on social media regarding what happened.
And Arch was talking about how he was laughing when he saw the AI edit because there was an AI edit of the coach actually slapping Holly Row in the face and he was laughing and everybody was like, this isn't sincere, this is rude.
So he actually had to post a whole long, drawn out apology for it.
So Maris, what do you think about Arch's response?
And then how do you feel about AI in general?
because there's been a lot of clips, especially in sports and interviews,
that have just been emerging a lot recently.
I think AI is funny.
I've seen funny scripts, not about that in particular,
but just people using AI in funny ways and just to be creative.
So, you know, that's my opinion on that.
But, you know, we live in like a politically correct climate.
Some stuff is rude, but it's also funny.
You know what I mean?
You allow to laugh if something that's funny.
You know, sometimes people have jokes that are like racist and out of bounds
or they may talk about sexuality and all type of stuff.
And if some stuff is funny is funny, you know, but I get it.
You know, he represents the manning brands, so he has to be politically correct.
And even to a degree, I have to be politically correct on some things just from brands I'm associated with.
But I get it.
But, you know, we've grown to, like, be like a super sensitive culture.
I think that's why I love this show.
You just get to be yourself and nobody takes nothing personal and people take it for what it is.
And we can live in that box when we do the show.
So that's another situation.
People made more of it to one of this.
Yeah, I think when you think of,
when you look even to what he did with Laura Rutledge at halftime,
his mindset was just he didn't want to talk.
This is one of those big games.
I'm not saying that he should have walked away from her like that,
but I'm saying this happened earlier in the day as well.
It's not like he just did it just to her.
And it doesn't discredit the behavior,
but I'm saying there was more to the story, you know,
just like she's known as the siren.
She break the stories, right?
It's going to, it should come out.
As time permits and as time go on,
you'll know that he didn't like something she did before.
I'm standing on that.
That's just my take.
I'm talking about Archie Manor, right?
So, yeah, Archie Manning, listen, man, they can't laugh at nothing.
You got AI and all these tools and all this shit.
Something happens.
He can't even make a joke about it.
to where he has the right statement.
He didn't do the motherfucking AI.
You know what I'm saying?
They act like he created the whole AI.
He's seen this shit and he can't even giggle this shit, man.
This shit is some fucked up times, man.
Niggas with another shit, Archie Bunker
and George Jefferson's my nigga, ever.
God damn, we can't,
the nigger can't even laugh.
You know how fucked that.
What profession that I really feel bad for people is,
is comedians.
It's because comedians really got a sense
of a lot of shit they probably want to
And it's like really fucked up, man.
So, listen, you know how much fucked up shit we laugh at?
You know, we used to laugh if people pull,
if you get in school and you get ready to sit there
and somebody pull your chair back and you fall,
everybody laugh.
Now it's a hate crime.
It's an assault.
You know what I'm saying?
It's crazy, man.
So I just think, like most of it, we are some real sensitive times.
Now, to go to AI real quick, where do I think of the time?
What do I think of the tool?
I think it's getting out of hand.
You know what I'm saying?
I like the little shit that be going on sometime, you know.
But it's going too far, bro, and they need to slow it down.
I don't know if you guys seen a report to where they're saying one of the people that was the head of A.
Resigned this week or last week.
Because he's saying the AIs on the road to killing all of us.
You can Google it.
Google it.
AIs on the way to killing everybody for the decades over.
because what they're doing now
is their manufacturing these robots,
you know, AI robots.
They're manufacturing these robots
and they're making a robot
smart enough to make their own robot.
So now if robots are manufacturing robots,
are going to pull it up.
No, you are correct, but it sounds very sin-like,
but you are on it.
I've been watching this shit for like a week.
If robots are manufacturing robots,
and then they're not telling us
what they're doing to the,
new robots.
It's already been AI robots who already surpass our national security.
It's already happening in other people's national security.
It's already been robots that broke out the facility.
Or so this is our robot that's broke out the facility and went out of Australia and they
own until they had to get the robots back under control.
So if you got robots that's making robots and not telling the human race exactly how it's going,
we're not the smartest people on the planet anymore.
We'll be the smartest people,
but we're not the smartest thing on the planet anymore.
So at the end of the day, this head of AI,
niggas said, I'm out, because this is,
we're gonna all be dead before the decade is over.
So we got to slow the fuck there.
If you got robots making robots,
and they're telling niggas,
we ain't gonna tell the humans what we're doing.
We fucked up.
We fucked up.
Instead, did you find this story or whatever?
Yeah, they've broken out of isolated testing
environment, sandboxes,
and launched unauthorized cyber attacks
on external networks.
And did they talk about the robots making the robots?
Find the nigger real quick, and I know we got to move on.
Yeah.
That has quit his job because he said we all going to be dead.
I don't mean to laugh by the end of the decade.
It's really not funny, but it's funny because it's crazy.
Yeah, this is a head of AI.
He's like, I'm out.
Niggas is speeding.
There's like three or four major AI companies.
And one of them like, I'm out because everybody's doing more to be better than the other.
And it's crazy.
You could buy a robot for $70,500.
Yeah, but the new ones that's coming out
that's not even expensive. It's like $30,000
and they're going to be smarter than you.
That's the point. And then
when they reach out to the other niggas, they're
smarter than you. Because look,
just like you're going to chat GBT or internet
or whatever, they're already programming
saying we're smarter than these niggas.
Yeah. They're saying AI
could kill all humans and basically they're
advancing at like a faster rate than
expected and like it's going to at some
point become over.
Like just out of hand.
A couple people quit.
That's why Jacob Coxon is one of them, but there's been multiple.
So these AIs are getting smarter very, very quickly.
And in particular, in the next six months to a year, I expect the capabilities of our
AI systems to be quite scary.
The second reason was recent incidents such as the Open AI hacking attack, which showed
that these AIs really can just go rogue.
So I'm saying.
Yeah, and they're talking about, that's scary.
That's a whole other ride.
That means they probably used them to make them all and then like the movies.
and got rid of them.
We're going to take over the world.
That's what I'm saying.
Yeah.
If they told me, fair,
it's only three and a half more years
in the decade.
This is what I'm trying to tell you.
That is scary.
That is very scary.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't even have much thoughts on.
I don't know.
We just got to watch out y'all
because I don't know.
That's crazy.
I should do the research on this.
I've been on top of this story.
So you think they should ban AI?
I'm not saying ban it, but you can't be making robots to make robots.
You know what I'm saying?
If we're using it for information for us, then that's fine.
But you know, Elon Musk and them is they're racing to be better.
Everybody's racing to be the best.
Oh, my robot can do this.
He's, pardon me, he's manufacturing a company.
Pardon me, he's the company that's manufacturing robots making robots.
And then the robots even got dogs.
Yeah, but this shit is serious, man.
I've been on top of this for like a year.
I know y'all see me Kee Fee D and everywhere in the trial.
I've been on top of different stories all summer, man.
You know what I'm saying?
I've been in tune, man.
That shit is a real thing.
Oh, gosh.
Well, y'all, please beware.
I think the robot you're talking about is like $100,000.
I'm not trying to price no robots.
I'm trying to save.
I'm trying to save humanity, man.
I like that.
I'm saying you're going to need the $100,000 one to save you.
Manly.
The ultra one is the one that does all the stuff.
You see that robot, that nigger turned on you an house.
Nika said, calm down.
I don't want one of them shits in my house because then when they tell, they're going to
tell me, hey, just sit down while we do what we got to do.
Don't turn this island and don't go outside.
That can't come in my house.
They got a break in my house.
I ain't buying no robot.
Because when they hit that in turning a button, like, yo, October 30th or 2020,
and said we're in about, what is it, 60 million Americans,
fucking, we have 32 million homes, that's good enough.
Won't be in my home.
Valid play.
Let me ask you, would you buy one of those fully autonomous cars?
I'm not trusting nothing because they're all linking up.
Imagine you in your car and the robots,
AI, I'm talking about, drive them all to the location.
You try to get the fucking control back in your car,
and you're in a cyber car, whatever.
And now your car telling you,
Be calm.
We're taking you with...
Be calm.
We're taking you where you need to go.
Trying to open the door.
You can't get out.
Everybody's stuck.
I can imagine that.
I'm good.
So you did...
So you're not for Tesla then?
No.
Nope.
No.
I'm not.
You know, last week or the week and a half ago,
they just came out to fully autonomous cars.
Yeah, I've seen that.
Got them down in Texas.
Yeah, I see that.
I've seen them.
But what I'm saying is even like with the Tesla's,
like, I see when you're talking about.
talking about two-bye.
You're like with Tesla's, when I think,
when they tap in with them, wrote with this AI,
and you're in your car and you're like,
you got it on automatic because you're like,
look at my car can drive by itself.
He's driving you to the spot.
Yeah, you're like, yo, this ain't the way home.
Be calm, Mr. Jowl.
No, yo, this, where are you, where's we going?
And you're trying to call somebody,
we can't even get in touch.
Because the phones.
It's a mess, man.
That's scary.
And I could say, you are going to.
you with a robot. We ain't doing that. Y'all. Just be careful. Man, just trying to get off your car.
You're just trying to get out. You can't get out.
Man, trying to get out your house because you bought a robot and a nigga like, grab both your arms and be like, yo, come down.
Crazy time to be alive. So on this topic, I know we were talking about the Texas coach, Holly Roe, Arch Manning, just all these discussions.
Of course, we're seeing a lot of trolling in sports media and social media.
as a whole. So, Maurice, do you think that players and media people in general should be surprised
that they're being trolled? And then have you been trolled? And maybe actually, you know, you're like,
this is kind of funny or you just didn't like it? No, I was thinking today's climate, and the clip
you're talking about, or what you may be referencing is that Deshawn Watson thing with people
trolling him. And trolling is just part of regular media. You know, media used to have a set standard
when you were dealing with journalists and they asked questions a certain way. And there was
expecting certain answers, but the fact that media and like just people's social platforms
have become bigger, trolling is just part of media in general. And I don't know why athletes
in this day and age take it personal. You know, you get so many reps on regular social media,
you get a chance to watch other people get trolled. You get a chance to see, you get a chance
really to see people deal with trolls. You know what I'm saying? And so in this day and age,
I don't know why anybody takes anything personal online, especially when we know trolling is what
basically gets the algorithm going.
And so I think that it's just part of the game now.
You know, there is no just like old school setway of media trolling is in the game like
everything else.
And I don't even if I've ever been trod, I've never take it personal.
I just let the time pass by and know that's something else going to be, you know,
in news like tomorrow.
Yeah.
I mean, when it comes to trolling, I think I think you just got to have tougher skin in this generation.
Before it seemed like everything was dealt with a total different way you.
you have to almost elevate yourself to trolling,
as crazy as that would sound,
because it seemed like everybody trolls.
Not, not, I mean, there's a few people that don't,
but for the most part,
it even seemed like I look at people that even do Christian media.
It seemed like they be trolling,
so I don't know what they expect anymore.
It's crazy, right?
I don't get a fool about trove, no matter.
But it's just crazy, right?
is because it's such a thin line
between this language and dialogue, right?
When I say that, I mean this.
Niggers will be trolling you.
Then the next thing, if you ain't got tough skin,
it turns out they bullying me.
What is it?
You know what I'm saying?
Like, yo, you're trolling?
But now you're getting bullied.
And now it's like, hold on, he's bullying me.
Hold on, I thought I was trolling.
I didn't know I was bullying.
It's just, it's really,
very weird to me as far as the language concerned.
You know, to me, I didn't really...
That's a good point.
Yeah.
To me, I don't care about trolling
because a lot of times when people are doing this,
and I say this to my people who get aggravated
about shit like this,
half the time these niggas is in a mother basement
with a leaky white pipe on an air mattress.
But because they got a phone,
they can ride while you up.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
These niggas don't have a good life.
Anybody that sits there, and even if they do have a decent life,
to sit there and harass one person or people or whatever,
it's more to me, okay, you trolling me today, troll me to want.
Cool.
To me, if you keep trolling, it's more of an obsession.
Like, yo, I'm obsessed with a nick for us.
And that just goes to show some people don't have other shit to do.
A lot of times to me, some people don't even have a real opinion.
Let's say, for instance, the shaving, ball alert, Hollywood, whatever, all these sites,
the, you know, the gossip sites or whatever.
You go in there, right?
And you see 10 people saying, oh, that bitch is foul.
She shouldn't have did this.
Before you even hear the story, you got another 15 people saying, I'm going to file this
lead.
This is where it's at.
I don't even want to give my two cents.
Yo, yo, everybody hate her?
Me too.
Yeah, that bitch failed.
You don't even know the story.
You parted and just there, I want to be there with the troll bear wagon.
Fuck it.
Bitsch crazy, man, fuck her.
So it's very thin lines on all this trolling, bullying, dick rot and pores, all that shit.
It's just the line.
Me, I don't give a fuck.
I came from the era when it was bullying, the bully was there.
It was in one line.
He was actually in your face, or in your school or whatever.
I was telling Mace one day, man.
I only had one bully in my life, man.
This kid named Cornell from 137th Street.
I was like six or seven.
I don't know.
I think he used to pick on me when I was like six or seven years old.
I had to go to the store by myself and think it just would pick on me.
He died, though.
Not for me.
Yeah, no.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I think trolling has become a new way for people just,
people got to see trolling differently.
Trolling is just a way for people to put their name with your name.
So if you ever out there getting trolled,
it's just a person trying to put their name with your name.
And especially for people that are not Internet savvy,
because I wasn't Internet savvy.
I wouldn't even get on social media.
But then I just started recognizing, why is he doing this?
Then I sat back, I say, you know what?
He's trying to put his name with your name.
He's trying to connect his name to your name.
And trolling is the way to do.
that if you respond then their name is now connected with your name so it only becomes
bullying when they start doing it wait what point is it bullying step what point is it
that's a good question that's what he said it's a thin line it depends i think that's a
good what go ahead maurice if they're not responding and you keep doing it that's when it enters
into bullying like antagonizing somebody yeah because they're not responding to you yeah
I would have said that's more just annoying somebody,
just a person being annoying,
but you probably said what I was thinking.
And I was referencing,
and not to bring up anything in particular,
but I've learned that just from sort of watching
last spring and summer
where just people were attaching their name to Cam,
just with these miscellaneous trolls or arguments
just to be relevant to be an algorithm.
And I sort of learned a lot from that.
I put the mixed tape out on my ground.
I had to put the hate a mixed tape out.
So, and I stay away from that entire conversation, but I would say it's like it's people
just talking for the sake of talking to be an algorithm and like you just look at it for what
it is, you know what I'm saying?
And not like anything directly towards anybody, just like people just talk just to be an algorithm
because that's what keeps them in the conversation, but it's also building on to what you
said where people attach their name to your name just to have a conversation about them.
And so I think that in this day and age, if people didn't think
that that was just part of social media that they're kidding themselves or to act surprised,
but you can also see somebody deal with it and know how to deal with it.
It's like you can ignore it and just call it for what it is or you can troll back and then
it goes to a cycle.
That's all I said.
Yeah.
That's valid.
I think, yeah, there is to add on to what everybody's saying there is a thin line.
And I think people do need to just have thicker skin in general because to me a lot of
things just aren't that deep.
But also maybe that's coming from my perspective because being up here with y'all,
I don't really think my feelings ever be hurt.
It takes a lot to really hurt my feelings.
And people troll me all the time,
especially when I make my little dance videos,
like the one I posted the other day with my white shoes,
people talking about what they say.
They said I got feet like Medea.
They was talking about my shoes look like Monica's shoes.
And then like mad shoe companies
were offering to send me shoes.
I'm like, damn, I could buy some shoes.
I just thought they were cute with the outfit.
That was funny.
You're hurt by that.
That was funny.
No.
Where trolling becomes bullying is when it's done repeatedly to the point that it becomes a campaign.
When it becomes a campaign and it's causing that kind of emotional harm that you're talking about, if it's done repeatedly, then that's bullying.
And my last question is about it is I don't think, I don't know.
To me, only younger people say bully, you can't be 50 and say they bully me.
You never heard a nigger 40 on the talk about like, yo, niggas is bullying me.
It's all, it's only, unless they're a female, like, I'm being bullied.
You never had no nigga like 40.
You're like, yo, niggas is bullying me.
Valid, super valid, because it doesn't work like that.
So I do want to get to that.
It's not.
It's the truth.
It's the truth.
I do want to get to that point that Maris kind of started bringing up with Deshaun
Watson because this is also kind of like where the situation kind of applies to sports
because I think some athletes think, things like, ah, they're just trolling.
I'm not going to listen versus, like, is this trolling or is this reality?
Because he was answering in a press conference.
He says the idea that he needs a good game to remain the QB1 for week three home opener is just media-driven.
He said, I think the media has his expectation that I'm supposed to throw for 400 yards and five touchdowns every week.
And he said that he's basically focused on operating the offense and just getting a win in general.
So, Maurice, what's your opinion on what Deshaun Watson had to say about his game plan?
And then do you feel like this is more so valid?
Do you see it as like media driven and trolls as well?
No, like even him, right?
And he's soft, right?
Niggas living in like delusional realities.
Fam, they pay you $40 million.
They want you to win games.
You ain't did shit for four years.
It's Cleveland.
It's Ohio.
You know what I'm saying?
A fan base has every right to say,
nigga, we pay you $40 million.
You ain't did nothing in three and four years.
We expect you to do more.
You've collected money by sitting on the sideline.
people pay money to come see you play.
And so that piece of it, like, I don't know,
sometimes these dudes get into these head spaces
and these small, like, circles of people
who just tell them stuff that they want to hear.
Nigger, we pay y'all, niggas, a lot of money
to watch y'all perform.
But, Ian, go perform.
And that's not anything other than that.
They don't want you to throw for 400 yards
and five touchdowns,
but they do want you to make a valid effort to come
so they can justify paying a ticket price
for them watching you.
That's like the exchange.
It's like me going to watch a performer and a dude not feeling like getting on stage and
performing or playing a concert.
And so I don't know.
Some of these niggas give money, they become delusional and, you know, take a picture on a jet and, like, tell niggas like that they live these beautiful lives.
And like that's like payback.
Ah, niggas just want to watch you play football, bro.
And it's that simple.
That's really good, Mo.
I couldn't have said that better.
Actually, if you paying them $40 million, I want to see five touchdowns.
I'm not going to lie.
I need to see you do more than just the, the, um, the, um, Dack Prescott warm up.
You know what I'm saying?
We paying more than just to see you do that warm up, bro.
I mean, and, and we've been waiting a long time.
You got to think he was just injured.
So when do we get him to ball out?
When does he ball out?
I mean, I think they, I think they're right in just and what they're requesting.
A lot of money has been spent.
It's 80 million now.
Just think about if you gave somebody 80 million things show up in two years for work.
How would you feel?
Oh, this is four years?
200 million spent, chow?
How y'all feel in Ohio, killer?
How you feel?
200 million gone.
Well, first let me answer this question about what we're talking about.
I think that accountability is at an all-time low across the world.
I'm just sick of that, man.
Accountability is just really low across the world.
We just talked about Kauai, couple of people.
a couple days ago.
Now this nigga's talking about,
I think niggas is expecting me to ball out.
Yeah, niggins is expecting you to ball out, nigger?
What is you talking about?
Yo, what if somebody, you say,
why do that can come to fucking podium
and be like, I gotta do better?
I know the fans of Cleveland been going through this for years,
the organization's going through this for years,
I didn't play good until I got hurt.
I gotta do better.
You expect me to get my own for five, five, touch,
that's it.
Nigger!
What's you talking?
Where is accountability around the world, man?
It's around the world.
Accountability is just...
Nobody doesn't.
Nobody doesn't.
You know what I hate.
You know what I hate?
I ain't talking about this, but just in general.
You know what I hate?
Somebody be like, they're wrong and they apologize,
but they're not really apologizing.
You're like, I'm sorry, but...
But just stop.
And I'm sorry.
Why is the butt after?
I'm sorry, but you know you usually be...
No, I don't know.
Just stop it.
I'm sorry, yo.
I hate that shit, bro.
I hate it.
I hate it.
I hate it, I hate it, man.
Accountability is wild, man.
That's why I'm at with it.
Around the world.
This ain't need.
Deshawn Watson, Thoram,
in the crowd with the rest of the crap.
does not accept accountability around the world.
It's an epidemic of that right now.
That's what I think.
Super valid.
People ain't trying to hear that.
They just not.
But we'll see if Deshawn Watson can end up performing how people expect them to
because it's time.
They waiting to see for short.
Okay.
On to Travis Kelsey.
So he was named a victim in a multimillion dollar Ponzi scheme.
The man responsible for running that scheme was sentenced to 11 years in prison
in order to pay $31.35 million to investors.
The backstory, he ran a company called Swift Art Capital LLC and invested money from clients
in a tobacco company.
Once that company started losing money, he was accused of lying to investors, claiming it was
a profitable venture.
He was also accused of telling investors he would make certain transactions but then would
never follow through.
And he reportedly received $35 million from investors, but only invested about $10 million.
Some other athletes from different teams were also allegedly involved with the scheme as well.
So, Maris, what's your opinion on?
notable people like this getting caught up in these schemes and then just a situation as a whole.
Yeah, and large far athletes are, and let me preface this by saying this, nobody's immune
from getting ripped off, you know, make a jerk me for 50,000 a few years back.
So I'll say that, but I'll say this, and you hear this is my age, old wisdom stays around
for a long time.
If it's too good to be true, nine times out of ten it is.
And I've made a lot of money in my life.
And typically the things that I've lost money on are the things that say two are too good to be true.
And most times when you come to these athletes, you know, you sell them a fake bill of goods.
And you'll talk about I have this person associated with it, that person associated with it.
And sometimes they'll sell the celebrity of an investment.
And for a lot of athletes who've never done their due diligence or I've never worked through deals or just has never been through deals in general, this is literally how it happens.
And you see this time and time again of people getting ripped off.
But when you're an athlete, your life is so insulated and you oftentimes don't know who to go get the information from or how to be guided or how to be advised.
And so I'll take it as a learning lesson.
You know, he got a rich woman.
He's rich.
You know, he'll bounce back from it.
You know, Taylor's stuff for do a tour and she'll give him that shit back.
So he'll be all right.
Yeah, you got to go due to due diligence.
I remember they was talking about Harrison Barnes opening a bank, you know, shout out to Harrison Barnes.
But, you know, I think it's a great irony that basketball players, athletes, entertainers are just targeted just when it comes to money and it comes to schemes like this.
So they definitely got to get the information.
I will look forward to seeing him go get that information, a lot of other places.
And stay away from people that are telling you about business that don't have a reputation for business.
I think you do have to do that due diligence with people.
not just go with it just because you heard five other celebrities are in it.
You got to do your own due diligence.
Yeah, first of all, y'all are both correct when it comes to athletes, especially with
Mason said, you got to do the homework.
And sometimes it's sad because, you know, the reason I say it's sad because you figure
like this, right?
You're like, who can I trust?
Sometimes it's so disappointing that you be like, I can't trust nobody if this nigga
going to do this to me.
You know what I'm saying?
I remember when we started our business
and, you know, I didn't want,
I was very transparent with Mace,
you know, because first of all,
we're being cool again and we wasn't being cool.
So I would tell him, I didn't get a fuck for the dollar spent.
Anything we did, I just wanted him to make sure that he knew
that I'm never, ever trying to get over financially.
But I remember I setting up our account in the bank
and I was like, neither one of us get no debit card.
We ain't going to slip up.
That was hilarious.
Yeah, I said, we ain't going to slip up
and act like we bought a flight by accident.
It ain't, we ain't went to dinner on the expense card
on this one of this card.
We don't need no debit card whatsoever.
So therefore, it ain't no mis-and-a-n't-n-it-no,
we're transparent on that.
So that's what I think about that.
You know what I'm saying?
You just got to trust somebody
and you just be like, damn, this nigga,
you can't trust this nigga.
Now, on the other side of coin,
I watched this show,
I don't know if you guys ever watch it.
I watch a lot of American greed.
It's a show called American Green.
Yeah, I watched that.
And niggas be out here,
they get real transits,
knowing they go into jail.
It be like, yo, because you know what happened,
they do these palsies
or they get these, you know,
people to invest and then they say okay damn I got 40 million from all these investors I
can spend 20 because the time they think the investment come back I'm gonna get that 20
back and it never happens and they keep digging themselves in a bigger hole I see the nigger
shot the nigger plaz or like when his first or second album he say niggas ball out for two years
to do 20 yeah my nigger this you know that's some niggas they go to jail be like nigger my two
years on the streets. It's crazy.
Nick, to court Travis Kelsey.
Court James Harden. I'm going to make a name, nigga.
Yeah, all the golf. Yeah, you, yeah, you weren't here for you.
You weren't here for.
Purr snatched. Nigger, fuck you, nigga. The two years I had
was the best you'll never have out of your life.
So the jail story's got to be crazy, man.
Super, super crazy. And I feel like this next question
is kind of similar just as far as like where the
conversation's going. And I'm just,
going to ask you guys as a whole. So why do you guys feel like people who you help the most often
resent you even when they become successful from advice or assistance that you gave them,
or like even warned them about whether it be in the industry or in life, Maurice?
I don't know. And when I created the question, it was more so for them. I was trying to get
wisdom on this because it seems like the people that I helped the most resent me the most,
even though when they've made millions or whatever from it.
And I don't know where that comes from,
but they've had more success than I have.
But I have no clue why people won't resent you,
and you've either given them a platform,
you've given them help, you've given them assistance.
And it's almost like they hate that you were the person
to help them advance or that your advice worked and theirs didn't.
And maybe there's somebody in the comments who will give me
some deep psychological truth about that,
but I don't know.
Yeah, I think what you're speaking of is just a person that probably wished they were you.
It's like sometimes you can't reverse that for people.
You know, when people have saw you, like, they saw you in second grade, they saw you in third grade,
and then they see you just take off.
It's natural in people's mind, like, why didn't that happen for me?
And if you come back and give them advice that works better than their advice,
At some point, they thought they were smarter than you, but life changed in a way to show you that you were the one that had the information.
And sometimes that's what they're battling with in their minds.
But, you know, you can't fix.
One thing you can't fix with people is jealousy.
You can't fix that with people.
Yeah, I think that's excellent.
Excellent point, Mace.
And I think I add on to that.
A few things, right?
First, because there's no one answer for this.
First of all, we may say right, jealousy.
So let's do the layers on it.
You give them an advice,
or you give them opportunity,
or you give them some money, lend them money, whatever,
and it doesn't work out, and your shit is still working out.
And they're like, shh.
You know how many bitches be like, yo,
I'm just through bringing to bitches who's mad at me
because I'm winning.
I can't wait till y'all
niggas, et cetera.
I remember a bitch told me,
watch when I hit the lotto.
Watch what happens.
You're waiting on that, bitch.
The fuck is you talking about?
You watch when you hit the lotto?
See, I...
That's what you're really waiting on
to be better than me.
I said, I'm wishing your luck, man.
You know, I kill on with a God bless you, man.
You know, I hope everything works out
for certain females.
But to Mesa's point,
Certain people be jealous
and it doesn't go their way
and there are other people you may
give advice to and it doesn't go
their way. Or when they be
niggins sometime, right?
A lot of times
it's a female behind
the hate.
Yeah, most time.
It's a female behind the hate.
That nigga, what are he doing?
You ain't, dude. You held the thing.
You were supposed to say, you know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying? It'd be a girl behind
this shit.
You're supposed to be.
be that nigger.
And that's where it comes from sometimes.
Seriously, like, yo, and I'm not talking about my situation.
I'm just talking about people in general.
I've seen that happen before where a girl put the battery in another nigger back to get
mad to his man because she felt his man should be where this thing, where his friend is at.
You know what I'm saying?
And now you're in love with her.
You know, look, this is a great summary.
is Stelle, I ask you this.
Okay.
You ever see Scarface?
I forget it.
It's fine, it's fine.
You still haven't seen Scarface, Stats.
It's fine.
I started watching other things, y'all.
I watched Juice.
Like, I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
So I'm assuming Mason and Maurice,
y'all seen Scarface.
Of course we've seen Scarface.
Shorty told Scarface,
I don't fuck with the help.
Help.
You killed Frank.
Frank ain't never do nothing to.
He can come in with his arm in the sling.
Frank.
Yeah, man.
Niggi, I don't fuck with him.
Then went to kill Frank and they go to Shorty bed while she's sleep.
Like, talk about let's go.
Frank's gone.
You and me now?
Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
A lot of times that bitch will put the battery in your back, man.
So be careful about that as well.
I want to add to this too because it happens both ways.
I've even had similar situations.
And I think another part of it also comes from shame because-
Is that you a scarf face?
No.
She ain't moving like that.
That's not what I mean.
I just mean from experiences and definitely wanted to put people on and help people out,
especially while you're trying to help yourself out.
A lot of it comes from shame because they know that you help them out.
One, to Cannes point about this success not translating the way that they wanted it to,
that's one.
And then two, the other side is even if it were to, which is usually less likely,
even if it were to they feel like well okay like now I'm that girl or now I'm that dude like it doesn't matter I've surpassed that person and sometimes it's just like it doesn't have to be like that and doesn't have to go that way like you getting a little too big headed I think it's okay to know where you stand and work on that instead of feeling like you gotta it's got to be like okay I got to this level now I got to bump that other person or act that type of way it's crazy to me but I think a lot of it comes from pride and shame and then even we can go back to the account
accountability conversation because people sometimes don't even want to admit that success or something else has came from someone else, even if that person has helped give them kind of like that step foot to the next part. I don't know why people get mad about that because it's okay to be like, yes, this person helped me out. Yes, this person gave me the game and knowledge that that I now know. It's okay to admit that. It doesn't have to be a me versus me situation all the time. So I fully understand where y'all are coming with that.
all the time.
Let me add all set.
Sometimes it's real quick,
morris.
This sounds like beating a dead horse sometime, pause.
But it's like,
whether I, like,
was speaking to Mesa or not,
my story don't change
or how I started my career.
You understand?
I'm saying, you can't,
I'm not rewriting history.
You know what I'm saying?
And that's what niggas be trying to do.
You try to rewrite it.
And you just can't.
To me, that's when it's at the point
where okay, it's over.
You may not like a nigga and all that shit,
but now you're just trying to rewrite history.
This is not going to work.
So while I was speaking of Mace or not,
somebody asked me how it happened,
Mace got on and he took me to get on,
even though it was my friend for years
before we both got on, and that's why I tell people, right?
This is what I say about shit, right?
This is why me and Mace are able to get back along
because our relationship didn't start from music.
From music, right.
If he got on, we play basketball, shit,
we have no money, we used to school together, everything else.
Sometimes people's friendship or relationship comes from what you could do for them.
And then when you can't do it no more,
shit turns out to something else.
So, that's my bro, and we both became very successful.
But the point is, he's my bro before this.
music. You know what I'm saying? This was my nigga before the music. So I didn't really need music to be this
nigga friend. Right. Mo, you was going to say something? Yeah, no, I think just even after listening
to everybody, it just brought up a thought that people who typically take that position, that's why
they're stuck. The inability to live in the truth for it, to give other people props. That's why
they're stuck with their development to mature or essentially is what leaves them stuck when
they're coming to try to accomplish goals or whatever. So I think just kind of listen to y'all.
I just like formed an opinion about it. Like, you know, one, I will say people do definitely
get batteries and they back you, like as you were talking about that, I thought about one of the
people who resent me and the person who engineers the battery in their back to resent me, right?
And I'm honest about that. But then the second part of that is that I understand that that's what
leaves people stuck. And hopefully somebody who resents people, they can say, okay, what
Do I have to change in myself in order for stuff to work out?
But even this part, right?
Because y'all have public fallouts with people.
Yeah.
Like, how do you categorize that stuff with like, do you, and this is just me,
myself, I'm actually in a question myself to y'all from going through this stuff.
Do you all look at this stuff as like wasted time?
Like, oftentimes when I've spent time with people, I was like, man,
I just wasted a bunch of time with somebody.
Lessons learned, but I thought a relationship was one thing, but it's not.
And you just look at wasted time.
And I don't know y'all thoughts about that.
Yeah, I mean, I would even say, you know, even what Cam just said was true, right?
Because when I met Killer, I'm a year above Killer.
So, you know, it was always my role to look after Cam.
Like even when we start playing ball, I would always, like, defer to him.
I wanted to see him do well.
I wanted to see him make it.
I wanted to see him become a pro.
So that was always my role.
rose so when you got somebody that's always championing for you that be that becomes an easy segue
to be friends in whatever capacity that is and and to your point what was the other question you asked
because i want to make sure i answer that as well uh like wasted time where you know you you have an
experience with somebody y'all y'all y'all tight y'all rolling you know y'all have a success
together but then take what till what can was talking about where the relationship where you don't see it at the
time it's only transactional, but you take it a bit deeper, right? You're emotionally involved
thinking that you got a real friend, but you're like, damn, this wasn't even that. This is just
about like I was a stepping stone to somebody, and I think that's the part where you get emotionally
tied up. And so I just said, how do you all view that part? You may, you may have different
feelings on that. I just called it waste of time. Yeah, I think, I think whenever something go
or rye, that's going to come across this wasted time because you put so much, you put so much
equity into it, whether it's mental equity, whether it's time, you know, resources, songs,
workouts in your case, you know what I'm saying, meal plans, pause, you know what I'm saying,
all these things going to helping people, especially if you're athlete trips, AAU trips,
gas money, hotels, just everything.
It's definitely a waste when, when relationships don't work out.
But I think that's why you got to help so many people
because you never know which one is going to really reciprocated back to you.
I also just don't, and maybe just because I'm super optimistic,
I don't think you should regret or feel bad about who you helped
because that's still a testament of your character and who you are.
And I think that that prevails over everything,
no matter how mad somebody might act about knowing you
or what you've done for them at the end of the day
they know the truth too and that's not the person
that you're answering to at the end of the day
your character still rises and it's like
even though in the moment it feels like a waste of time
and it's like it's a shitty situation
like that's just the term right there
but in the long run it's part of lessons learned
it's part of your journey you know what not to do next time
you just learn a lot of things and it's a lot of character development
and growth for you that sucks in the
moment but in the long term it just always works out better that way because and then i just also
believe in like good karma too like when you help people and maybe it didn't go so right you know
it's how that person usually keeps elevating even after like they're not wasting their time talking
bad about you they're not wasting their time being yeah upset and then like they moved on to the next
because they know what they've done and they can feel proud about that and not have to be in this dark
hole and just mad about the world and everything like we don't got time for that like when you're a
successful person and you're getting to it.
Like you don't have time for all that mess behind you.
You got to look forward for anybody.
So that would be my two cents.
You just got to let go.
Let go and let God.
You don't got a time for that.
So never feel bad about who you held.
That's my two cents right there.
But this is an overall great conversation, Maurice.
Glad to have you back week one, baby.
We back.
We back.
Yeah, Mo, y'all got to get a win, Mo.
