Starting point is 00:00:51 Use code MACE, CAM, or STAT to get up to $1,000 in bonus credits with your first deposit and a free pick. I'm Treasurer Wilson, aka Stat Baby, along with your hosts Mace and Cam. Gilla, what up, man? Mata, what up? How are you, man? How's your weekend, man? I'm doing good, man.
Starting point is 00:01:06 There's a crazy, crazy games going on. Yeah, it was, man. It was a great weekend for basketball, man. Great weekend for sports, previous FS1. A lot was going on this weekend, sports-wise. Yeah, it was horrible for boxing. Yeah. It was horrible.
Starting point is 00:01:20 It was a bad weekend? Yeah, it was totally disgusting. Okay. I've never seen so many fights with no punches. I don't even know if it was fighting. Yeah, I mean, you know better than me because to be honest with you, right? Well, we'll get to it. We'll get to it.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Yeah. Let's actually start with it. At first I was thinking basketball, but let's get into the fights because I think a lot of people want to hear what you guys got to say about it. So in Times Square, Ryan Garcia lost to Rolly Romero and Devin Haney won the unanimous decision versus Jose Ramirez and Tia Fimo defeats Arnold Barbosa. First of all, Mase, gonna let you go first.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Did you like the setup of the fights and how everything looked? The setup seemed cool at first. It seemed like a good idea, but we knew being New Yorkers. That was a bad idea It's like you put the fight in the middle of the street Like I said last week we used to people fighting in the middle of the street. It happens all the time So it wasn't new for us as New Yorkers
Starting point is 00:02:18 But I think when you when you take all of the rest of the thousands of fans Out of the the present fight, then it changes it. It makes it feel almost like a. How could I say it? Like a like a sparring match. It felt like a sparring match. Like when you go to a sparring match, you know, there's a few people there, but it's not too many people there. And people don't really fight the same when there's less of a crowd.
Starting point is 00:02:45 So that's what was my major take from it. It seemed like they was getting in cars to come to the fight, all of that. We'll get into every detail, but it seemed like a sparring match. That's what it's something like to me. And I ain't like it. And I can't call no man no his excellency. That's just hard. That's just hard pause. I like it. And I can't call no man no his excellency. I, that is just hard.
Starting point is 00:03:07 That's just hard, pause. Yeah. How you go up to a grown man and say, your excellency. Ha ha ha. Mm-hmm. That's crazy. I can't get, I can't get with it either.
Starting point is 00:03:18 You know, for that check though, they just be out there doing. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. So. And for that check, niggas be out there doing. So, for the right amount of money, you call him your excellency. I didn't say me. I'll go get a job. Certain things I'll go work before certain things is going to happen.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Yo, you spoke to your excellency? No, I can't do that. He's not my excellency. I ain't like when a nigga name was Puff Daddy. I'm not calling the nigga Daddy neither. I'm glad he changed it to Daddy. Name changing Monday. How about it, you know?
Starting point is 00:04:01 And you know, that was his slang. A few niggas slanged, he'd be like, yo, Daddy, I'm saying, yo, stop calling me daddy, too, man. I don't like that. And yo, daddy, you know, if you're a niggas, I ain't your father, nigga. It makes sense. It makes sense.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah, I 100% agree with you. Certain names is just, we're going to figure out your government. We're going to come up with you certain names. It's just we gonna figure out your government. We gonna come up with a new, if you had to actually act your E, something your E was on. I don't really know. But what was the exact question? Yeah, did you like first,
Starting point is 00:04:35 did you like the setups of the fights and how it looked in Times Square and all that? To be honest with you, I'm not even gonna lie to you. I caught some footage of the fights because all of them on YouTube, because I thought I was getting home in time to see the fights, and this shit was over. Shit started at 3 o'clock on the West Coast.
Starting point is 00:04:56 You know a regular fight time main event and all that starts at 7, 8, 9 p.m. on the East Coast. It had to be over about 6, 7 p.m. on the East Coast. So I caught clips on YouTube, but if you're actually asking me how I felt about the presentation, I didn't like it from just the clips I seen. It looked erratic, like May said,
Starting point is 00:05:17 it didn't look like a lot of people were there. They were coming in cars. I thought the car shit was kind of fly, but when you're blocking it off to actually, it's not the real time square, it's limited from what I've seen if I'm not mistaken. It didn't give it the time square effect from what I've seen, like I said,
Starting point is 00:05:36 then I just got glimpses of it, but we're talking purely presentation. No, I didn't like the way it was presented, not at all. Yeah, real quick, I wanna add, so I it was presented. Not at all. Yeah real quick I want to add so I was actually in New York this weekend It was literally like a square box and they had the top covered and so everybody's kind of waiting along the outside and it was Disruptively in the middle of the city, but people were saying oh, maybe you could see from the hotels Like they had it blocked so you couldn't even watch it if you wanted to so it was very like a random
Starting point is 00:06:03 pop-up in the middle of the city, which it had potential to be something a little bit different, but I just felt like it missed the mark. So just hearing that, what change would you guys kind of want to see before we get into the specific fights? What kind of change with the setup?
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah, with the setup, how it should be, how it should look. Me personally, I think if they was gonna do it in Times Square, they should have let everybody come. Pause. Everybody standing out there would have been nuts. You figure out how you get into the ring, walking through the hecklers. All of that would have been a much, a much New York experience. If you're going to do it in New York, you got to get the experience.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And without the crowd, you don't get the experience. That's what makes New York, New York. Walking through people, bumping into people, the hecklers, being able to perform on the most turbulent turf there is. That's what people say. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. So therefore, I think they should have given the real experiences, especially when you're blocking it off.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I think they lost some coverage there because there was people, I know, got the hotel just so they could watch the fight from their hotel. And then when they blocked it, it was just like, man, why did they get the hotel? If you're going to block the fight, I thought it would have gave it way more exposure. So basically there's a box. Basically, yeah. You could have went to the felt form for that, the little part of the card.
Starting point is 00:07:28 And like, y'all gonna put in the 40-th of a pile? This made absolutely no sense from what you guys are telling me. You block it off so the whole Times Square can't see and then you put a top over it. So you're essentially in a box. What was the purpose of having it in Times Square if everybody can see?
Starting point is 00:07:44 I thought it was gonna be like some, when the ball drop pause in New Year's Eve or something like that. This sounded dumb. It sounded like they wanted to try and do something spectacular and it didn't turn out spectacular. Down to the promotion, down to you don't know what time the fighters are fighting,
Starting point is 00:08:00 down to they're fighting in a box in Times Square. It sounds stupid. You could have put this in a venue and made it more spectacular. If you're not, how you fighting outside and you're not fighting outside? Yeah. Big question.
Starting point is 00:08:14 So they actually did have TV set up. So like people who were kind of spectating, they were laid out on the ground watching it on the TV. But I'm like, why don't you just watch it on the TV at the crib? But I guess trying to be in the mix, that's kind of what they were trying to get. Yeah, you're in the mix without being in the mix. That's why he said, how you in a box?
Starting point is 00:08:34 Like, outside of the box. Yeah, it made no sense. And I think the awkwardness probably played into the fights, too. Yeah, honestly, yeah, that's a really good point. So out of these matches, which one kind of surprised you the most and which one disappointed you the most? I think we should go through each fight realistically because the first fight, when you look at
Starting point is 00:08:55 Barbosa and Tiafimo, to me that was kind of like the best fight. That's the fight that was really a fight. Every other fight was not really a fight to me. I liked the way that Teofimo showed back up. Being gone for such a long time, we had him here as a guest on It Is What It Is. And he backed up what he was talking. When he was here, you could have taken it
Starting point is 00:09:20 as a little bit of cap, but when I saw him in the ring, it looked like he really stood on what he was talking about, because even the day before the fight, Teofimo and Barboza was talking and Barboza looked like he wanted to get active right there. And then Teofimo was like, nah, I'm saving my fight for the ring. He's like, we can let everybody leave the room right now and we can fight. He's like, nah, we fighting in the ring. And then when he got to the ring, I thought that could have been a little timid data and intimidate him. But when he got in the ring, it seemed like he was there to handle business.
Starting point is 00:09:52 And then he called out a Geron boost in this. But I don't know about that now. But, you know, he was talking crazy last time and he stepped up and showed it against a champion. So he got a belt and he's ready to fight at 147. So shout out to Tia Fimo. Way to bounce back from a divorce, you know? Mates might as well do all these fights.
Starting point is 00:10:16 I'll tell you all about it. I'm bored. They think that nigga know what time this shit came on, man. You two don't, I tried to go back and watch YouTube and just highlights all the fights, so I ain't gonna sit up here and cap, get your Oscar, Eddie Herring, I need to do better with the promotion, man, everything,
Starting point is 00:10:34 man, you know, I'm thinking I'm getting into, first of all, it's a Friday night fight. That's first and foremost, that's what threw me off, that's A, you know, usually Saturday. Secondly, I'm thinking I'm getting in the house on time, nigga said it's over. So Mase could analyze all these fights for you. All right, well when it came to Barbosa,
Starting point is 00:10:52 he was definitely trying to fight with Tiafimo, but it just seemed like Tiafimo was a grade above him when it comes to boxing skills. And that's what you, when they say styles make fights, a person could be good, but they're not quick enough to hit you when they say styles make fights a person could be good But they're not quick enough to hit you or they're not Technical enough to cut off the ring when you're moving the way you're moving all of that it plays into the boxers IQ And it just seemed like Tiafimo was just a little ahead of him and in every category to me
Starting point is 00:11:23 Okay, and then real quick. How do you feel about Devin Haney's win and Ryan Garcia's loss? Well, we got to take fight by fight because when everything, I love Bill Haney, I love the Devin Haney family, but Kellev, you just saw that fight. I heard about it. Man. I heard he was running, that's what they were saying. Yes, but it wasn't like Floyd Moving on his feet people try to compare him running around a ring like Floyd and it wasn't like Floyd
Starting point is 00:11:55 I gotta keep it a buck when Floyd is moving he'll stand in pocket and make you miss Even when Shakur fight Shakur be right there in pocket and make you miss, even when Shakur fights Shakur, be right there in pocket and make you miss. But he's not running all the way around the ring. Devin was running all the way around the ring, like in circles. It was like he wasn't there to fight. He was just there to run and survive. You get what I'm saying? When somebody get knocked down and they move and like that, that's how he was moving. to run and survive. You know, you get what I'm saying when somebody get knocked down and they moving like that.
Starting point is 00:12:26 That's how he was moving. He never got hit. So it made him look like he definitely don't wanna engage. If I was watching that, if I was any boxer, the moment I get in the ring, I'm jumping on him. You remember how Roy Jones was when he first got knocked out? And then the next fight,
Starting point is 00:12:45 everybody just start coming for the knockout pause. That's how people got to fight Devin Haney. Cause he was running, it seemed like he trained on jumping rope because he was running the whole time. Even when he would throw a couple of punches, he will move around, he will lap the ring at least two times
Starting point is 00:13:04 before he would engage in doing any boxing. Yeah, that's from what I heard. Actually, Nick had texted these, like he don't look the same, that that Ryan fight had him scared to get hit since the Ryan fight. That's what I heard. And even when they got close, he would clinch like really hard. Like, you know how when somebody got you buzzed, paused,
Starting point is 00:13:24 or you almost got knocked down got you buzzed pause or you almost got knocked out you try and get your legs back that's how he was clinching and I was like the guy you're fighting is not really like that for you to be doing that so I don't I don't know I feel I feel like if this is how he thinks this is PTSD and he shouldn't be out there cuz he gonna get really hurt if that's his mindset he gonna get really hurt I seen Rowley um they actually asked Rowley about his fight after his fight he's like yeah I'm trying to warm up for a fight not to watch a marathon or watch
Starting point is 00:14:00 niggas running all that so I can't go to sleep before I got to fight. Yeah, and he was like, it's a difference though. You know, Sugar Shane Mosley, like how he used to fight, Zab, Judah, there was a lot of guys that would hit and pause and not get hit. But his was like, terrible. This was like, terrible. Like, it wasn't, you know how people was like Shakur, when Shakur does it, I can see now the difference
Starting point is 00:14:27 Shakur is doing it is is good boxing. This was absolutely just running just You're not there to fight. Why are you there? It's a fight So now I know the difference between boxers and fighters He's a boxer. But he's in there with fighters and everybody at 147 is going to want to fight. And that's a problem for a person that just want to be a boxer. I think he definitely need another, another arm fight before he goes and try to fight
Starting point is 00:15:04 Ryan, cause if he fights and try to fight Ryan. Cause if he fights Ryan, even though Ryan didn't look good, Ryan don't have to fear that great power from him. And he, I would start the fight off going straight to it. Okay. And then last one, you got to talk about Ryan. You say he didn't look good. How are you feeling about that fight? Ryan and, and, and Roley was good because I knew Roley was going to win.
Starting point is 00:15:32 I knew Roley was going to win. Shout out to the leg show, leg show hit me. He said, yo Mace, I'm telling you, Roley going to win. And then I thought about it. I said, you're right. Because Roley going to jump on him. Pause. Even if Roley was the fight
Starting point is 00:15:45 Rowley will beat Devin Haney right now Rowley would beat Devin Haney because the confidence from this fight that's the fight they need to make Rowley and Devin Haney because he will have to fight against a guy like Rowley and he'll have to prove that he's there to fight and since they both won I think they're the two that really should fight and then after that fight Ryan You know, but when he was fighting Roley, Roley just Roley just was too aggressive for him It looked like the same sparring match that they had when they were young Roley jumped on him, but you know Ryan was saying that he was young but this looked like he couldn't fight without the Ostrich What do you think about that? Because he looked totally different without the drugs, Skilla.
Starting point is 00:16:28 He looked totally different. He wasn't even throwing that hook at all. The thing about it is this, is that Rowley is tough, bro. Rowley hits hard. Tank even said that's the hardest puncher that he's faced. The thing about it is Rowley's chin has came in, Paul's, into question because he got hit with tank. Another nigga rocked him, I can't remember Paul,
Starting point is 00:16:52 so remember who it was. So now you're thinking about, can he take a punch? We know the nigga can punch. And I think that would be a nightmare for Devin Haney because I don't think he has the power to hurt Rowley, but Rowley has the power to hurt him. So all that, and Rowley knows how to cut the ring off. You're not gonna do that with Rowley.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Certain niggas, that's another thing. When you got niggas running, you have to, and you're aggressive, you gotta know how to cut the ring off so therefore niggas can't run for 12 rounds. But to me, this sounds like a match up nightmare if you put in Devon Haney against Rowley. Rowley only problem the last couple times,
Starting point is 00:17:31 not last couple times, but you fought Tank who could hit hard and he was dazed. He looked pretty good against Tank. I had him up on the scorecards if he was going by points against Tank and I didn't see the fight, I guess it was Pitbull, whoever else rocked him. But that's what was going around. And his chin is suspect. But if you don't hit him and he hits you, he's aggressive.
Starting point is 00:17:51 He is hard, man. So I don't know if that's a good fight for Devon, my personal opinion. Yeah, the reason why I say that, because there's nobody else really to fight. I think if you fight Ryan, y'all both got to take less money because of the last performance. I don't think the rematch will be that exciting for people after what they saw. If Devin came back explosive, then people would want to see that rematch because of the way he performed, which was really no performance.
Starting point is 00:18:21 It was just a technical fight. Then I'm not paying my $89 to watch the fight. And this, I mean, this was happening all day. It even happened with Canelo. Yeah. They almost punched the same amount of punches as Devin. And that's crazy. Not in a Canelo fight.
Starting point is 00:18:41 People are just showing up to get a check. Your Excellency, pause. got to do better than this. So what's his name? Turkey, Alice Sheik. He didn't promote Friday, though. He promoted Saturday with Canelo, but Friday was Eddie Hearn and Golden Boy. Oh, yeah. Eddie Hearns. I got to do better. The zone. OK, so before we move on to the Canelo fight,
Starting point is 00:19:02 because I have a question for you because you all both brought it up. Like your excellence, and then you bringing up Puff Daddy. Did y'all ever have a friend who had a nickname that either didn't make sense or like surprised you? Cause me and Shook were having this conversation actually this weekend. So I got to hear if like y'all got one.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Yeah, I know what I'm feeling. Um. Hey. Oh man. Yeah, I know what it feels. Um, oh man, what's one I can think of? I knew a kid growing up named Stink, you know? I don't know how far he could go with that name, but I definitely knew a guy named Stink. What about you, Gam? You know the worst one ever is our friend, man, Funky Dick. Pause.
Starting point is 00:19:46 That's the worst one ever, man. And let me tell you something, I ain't gonna say his real name because that's my nigga. I'll call somebody right now on this phone and be like, yo, you seen Funky Dick lately? They be like, I ain't seen him in a little minute. Forced. Why is that his name? You wanna know? Maybe not. The face said it all, but like kinda.
Starting point is 00:20:18 All right, so, so before crack got bad, it was functional crack got bad, it was functional crackheads. We was at my man, Howie Longport, shout out to how, 137 my nigga Howie. And we was at his crib, me, Howie, hud. Last I ain't gonna say his real name, my man. And we was getting head from this crackhead, man, with a condom on, and we was going one at a time.
Starting point is 00:20:52 So I'm gonna say, I can't say his name, he got a girlfriend now. I can't even say this nigga. My nigga Mel, I just say Mel. He was there. I just say Mel. He was there. And we all went in one at a time. And when he went in, he came right back out.
Starting point is 00:21:19 He was like, what's going on? He went in the bathroom. And we went in, she said everything okay. She said, yeah, your man got the wash up done. It's just thing. And nigga, my man Mel was like, funky thing. Boss. And that shit just stuck, man.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Then we was playing basketball one day. And you know, back then you used to wear shorts. Then we was playing basketball one day. Back then you used to wear shorts. Real ballplayers used to wear shorts under their jeans and all that. He had no shorts under his jeans one day. He took his pants off to put shorts on. He had, you know the briefs, but they was tiger. Like tiger nasty joints and they looking funky
Starting point is 00:22:06 and they just carrying on for years, for years, man. Not condoning it, I'm just telling you how it happened. I need to know the background, but I didn't think that's what that was gonna be. Yeah, it's still my nigga though, pause. Yeah, no, I just had to ask, I went to, I was in New York this weekend and shook took me actually to where you guys like Grew up and stuff. That's my first time in Harlem. And so obviously he's introducing people and everybody got nicknames
Starting point is 00:22:30 He was calling me stacks by the way. I was like my name is stat Sure, they call me stacks. He was like you got stacks. I was like no Trouble pronouncing things if you haven't noticed pronouncing things if you haven't noticed. Yeah, you're gonna get a new nickname every time you go to New York. The nigga Shug was arguing with the nigga Bob. Shug had a problem pronouncing. I want to start writing down everything, his pronunciation on everything. I'm gonna start writing it down.
Starting point is 00:22:56 He getting into an argument with his man Bob. He said, you running around here like the equinozer. And I said, you say who? He said the equinozer. I said who the equinozer? He said Denzel. I said the he said, who? He said, the equalizer. I said, who the equalizer? He said, Denzel. I said, the equalizer? He said, yeah, that nigga.
Starting point is 00:23:09 I think he the equalizer. His pronunciation game is, yeah, don't even be offended, man. No, I wasn't. It was just funny. He's like, everybody, this is Stacks. And I was like, where you get your name from? I'm just asking where everybody's name is from.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Sug nickname used to be Two Gun Sugar Digger, but he couldn't live up to the nickname. He didn't have one gun. So I changed my name. He was talking about Kadeo the gun and all that. Two Gun Sugar Digger. He was Two Gun Sugar Digger for a minute. He took the two gun off.
Starting point is 00:23:44 That's funny. And then my last question for y'all and then we'll get to the Canelo fight. Y'all self assert y'all's nicknames or is it given to you? You know? How does that work? It depends.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Sometimes, sometimes it depends on what it is. Like you'd ask about me personally. Yeah. Cause like killer murder. Like, because like, killing a murder. Like, you know, I'm just here. You gotta ask. I don't call y'all that, but like, somebody let's kill a man. Sometimes you get, like, I'm me honest with y'all,
Starting point is 00:24:21 my rap name was Kumo C at one time. I was Split Boogie, because I had a flat top Like I'm me honest with y'all, my rap name was Kumo C at one time. I was Split Boogie because I had a flat top and I had like the part and those were self-given names but it just feels like, like a lot of my friends call me Gillick because my last name is Jiles and they never could pronounce my last name right and I used to call me Gillick because the people, you know, when you had to call you for the starters they never could get it right so I started calling everybody by their last name because they used to make a jewelry out of me so I called mace Befor or even his last name is Hudson so I started calling him
Starting point is 00:24:56 HUD and everybody said a lot of niggas just stuck because they were used to make fun of my last name and I was mad about it so So, some of it's self-inserted pause, and some of them, it just sticks, and people start calling you that. Okay, now just learning, y'all. Yeah, that's crazy, because that's how you know all the people that was with us originally,
Starting point is 00:25:17 because we all called each other by the last name. Yeah, exactly. Some people, we didn't use their last name. That's a good giveaway. Yeah, that's a fact. Got it. Okay, exactly. Some people, we didn't use their last name. That's a good giveaway. Yeah, that's a fact. Got it. Okay, so this Canelo fight, Canelo defeats Williams School in Saudi Arabia
Starting point is 00:25:31 to once again become the undisputed Super Middleweight Champ. They announce his next fight will be versus Terrence Crawford on September 12th in Las Vegas. Mace, were you impressed by the fight and how are you feeling about this next matchup? I definitely, I remember I told you this fight with Canelo was another um Fight that killer would have been laying on the floor if you were laying on the floor with the Shakur You'd have been knocked out with these paws you you'd have been
Starting point is 00:26:05 I don't even know what to say you you you you wouldn't even have kept your eyes open pause for these fights They were that boring I couldn't believe that this might have been the worst night the worst weekend of boxing the worst weekend ever I don't think we've ever seen a fight with these less punches were thrown I mean some some rounds people landed seven punches killer each round seven punches is crazy that's like 30 seconds of fighting and the rest 230 just running the whole ring and this is what everybody was doing So I was I was just looking at I had to turn my TV off the zone Y'all owe me my money back. In fact, my app wasn't working. I took a screenshot.
Starting point is 00:26:45 I need my bread back, for real. I was watching it on a computer, you know, and they would show a little clip with the verbiage over it so you couldn't really see the fight. And I was just like, man, this is the worst. The internet was crazy. The app wasn't really working. The boxers wasn't really fighting. The ring wasn't really a ring. It was just the worst night of boxing. But when you think of Terrence Crawford, I'm glad they're bringing it back to Vegas
Starting point is 00:27:17 because Vegas know how to handle a fight. This is what happens when you try to throw your graduation party in your cousin basement. This is what it was. You know, so them doing it back in Vegas, September 12, everybody's gonna be there. I'm definitely gonna be there. This is the fight that matters the most.
Starting point is 00:27:35 I think after this, Teron Crawford win it, and then he retires. And I don't know, if he wins this, are we gonna say he's better than Floyd if he wins this Floyd 50, you know, he like 41 in 042. You got time You got more time there I'm not going Think about it. It's this and I'm not saying Terrence Crawford is ducking nobody. That's the last thing
Starting point is 00:28:00 I think Terrence Crawford is doing a Floyd for everybody, bro Everybody and I'm not saying it's a bunch of people, Terrence Crawford is doing. But Floyd fought everybody, bro. Everybody. And I'm not saying it's a bunch of people for Terrence Crawford to fight. Only nigga he didn't fight, and he shouldn't have fought him because we found out the nigga had to submit in this fucking,
Starting point is 00:28:17 in his raps. Yeah, and his raps is Margarita. That's the only nigga he ain't fighting. Thank God he didn't fight. Nigga was cheating. Who didn't Floyd fight? He fought Pacquiao, he fought Shane Mosley, he fought Kodo. He fought everybody that niggas was saying that he couldn't fight.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Mosley. When Mosley was the champion, didn't want to fight, and didn't want to give him a chance that he became the champion. Mosley run down on him, harassing him for a fight. He fought everybody, a top contender, that you could possibly fight. Even though the Pacquiao fight happened years after, it probably should have happened,
Starting point is 00:28:54 it's nobody he didn't fight that was in his weight class to fight. So, I'm not going, and Terrence Crawford, it's just that it's not the level of competition out there that Floyd had to go through. I don't think Terrence Crawford, it's just that it's not the level of competition out there that Floyd had to go through. I don't think Terrence Crawford is ducking anybody. You know, even with Aruz Spencer, we haven't seen Aruz Spencer fight since.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Has Aruz Spencer fought? Yeah, like, you know, we gotta think about Terrence Crawford, and shout out to my nigga too, I just seen him at the motherfucking DMV, Sean Porter. Me, Terrence Crawford fight Sean Porter, Sean Porter retired. Terrence Crawford fight Sean Porter, Sean Porter retired. Terrence Crawford fight, I was present, we ain't seen him since.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Terrence Crawford put niggas out of business. You know what I'm saying? So he's a tough nigga. But he got a couple more fights to catch up Floyd. He's like 42, 43 or no, Floyd 50 or no. So he got time to catch him. But I don't put nobody before Floyd because of his IQ. And I'm not sitting there discrediting terms like you.
Starting point is 00:29:47 I'm just saying, not his fights. Shit, he tells other niggas to do, to make them win fights. You know what I'm saying? He tell a nigga, come in three pounds heavier, they win the fight. They tell a nigga take, don't let them get the rehydration clause.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Knocks him out in the second round. His IQ is unmatched as far as I'm concerned. I don't have anybody against Floyd as far as boxing is concerned for the moment. Okay, so can we get a super early prediction? Canelo versus Terrance Crawford, who do you guys think would win that? I'm going with Terrance Crawford.
Starting point is 00:30:23 I feel like Terrance Crawford, he will beat Innis, he will beat Sebastian, he'll beat who's the other? Charlo and I like Charlo as well but I think Terrence Crawford could beat all of them and instead of winning all those other fights like Ken was saying I think he wants to beat Canelo to say if I beat him, you know I could beat all of them. So I think for him to go for this, he is a time sensitive thing. And he know he doesn't have a lot of years. So he said, let me just go out with the greatest one I could possibly have.
Starting point is 00:31:01 And I don't think he comes to this place to get knocked out. But I definitely don't think it's like he going to be able to box all the way to the end. Somebody going to the ground. So my guy go to. Yeah. First of all, I don't, this is a great question. Cause I don't know, because I don't know what weight they're fighting at, but it turns Crawford. Yeah. Oh, he's, he, he, I don, he's coming up like three weight classes to three weight classes, but he got plenty of time to put muscle on.
Starting point is 00:31:31 And I think his skillset is really, really good. The thing about Terrence Crawford is that he could fight orthodox or no, or self war. So, uh, he could cause confusion. You don't, you know, it's hard to train for a nigga that could potentially go south for, or start to fight south for, and then around four or five make adjustments
Starting point is 00:31:54 and fight orthodox. It's gonna be really, really good. But I'll tell you this thing, when they was talking about it and it was lingering a few months ago, if Terrence Crawford, and like I said, even if he doesn't, but if he does have Floyd Mayweather train at camp,
Starting point is 00:32:11 I'm going with Terrence Crawford. If Floyd is in the corner or part showing up once in a while, whatever the case may be, I'm not even thinking about it. I'm going with Terrence Crawford. But Canelo tough, man. Canelo is tough. Tough fight, but one thing for sure,
Starting point is 00:32:30 two things for certain. Canelo, the one person that made Canelo look bad, I'm talking about like, Fischer Price against a professional footballer. I'm just thinking the worst case scenario was Floyd. Floyd make that nigga look bad from round one to 12. It was a straight ass, belt to ass ass whipping. He ain't knocking him out or nothing,
Starting point is 00:32:53 but if you love boxing and you're a real boxing fan and wanna see great boxing, watch that fight. Especially round seven and nine, Floyd was just beating the shit out Canelo, to where Canelo didn't even know what to do. Canelo was trying to do some old rope or dope shit for a minute getting his body jabbed to death pause and then come out trying swing none of that shit worked. That's a beautiful fight if you ever want to go watch a fight of great boxing Floyd Mayweather against Canelo and you will
Starting point is 00:33:21 see a boxing master class. Okay Nuguggets versus Clippers, game seven, Pacers versus Caz. We'll discuss all NBA after the break. But you're feeling like an option. Maybe I'm my own problem, babe. She's tired of hearing, I don't know. My stubborn enemy won't fall. Dealing with this thing called trust. But she really thinking about it. She want to be free. She want to be free. Welcome back.
Starting point is 00:34:16 So tonight's game one, Nick's versus the Celtics. We're going to get into our underdog picks and cam your six for six and your last six hit. into our underdog picks and Cam, you're six for six in your last six pick. Keep the track y'all. Code Cam, Code Champ, whatever you wanna use. You know I'm making niggas money all week, man. Calling me for bonuses, Murda. So I'm killing it out there, man.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Okay, so underdog has Jason Tatum at 27 and a half points, Mace, higher or lower? I'm going higher. I'm going higher. He definitely gotta start this series strong because it's a Knick team that need to get their name back. And this is gonna prove a lot for the Knicks. This is where they get their name back
Starting point is 00:35:03 if they want it back. Beat the champs. Listen, I think that he's gonna actually have a little bit lower because I think the Celtics are gonna have a balanced attack tonight. Not saying that Jason Tatum isn't capable of going off for 30-40 points, possibly 50 from time to time. I just think that the Celtics are gonna be balanced and tonight they're gonna make their team established more than just saying one person is gonna go out and get it. Okay, Jalen Brown's at one and a half, three pointers made.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Do you have him high or lower? Cam? High. High. Okay, and Jalen Brunson's at 37 and a half points, rebounds and assists. Do you have him high or lower? Mace?
Starting point is 00:35:45 High. This is tough. This is tough because the reason this is a tough decision is because this ain't Schroeder on you. This is Drew Holliday on you. This is Jalen Green on you. This is potentially a Tatum if they need to, if they need to put size on them.
Starting point is 00:36:05 This isn't just go out and cook Dennis Schroeder like he was cooking Dennis Schroeder, uh, last series. But that kid's on fire, man. He's on fire. 37 and a half points, rebounds on this is? Yep. Yeah. High and broad. Make sure y'all download the underdog app and you can make your picks too.
Starting point is 00:36:27 So the Warriors eliminate the Rockets after beating them 103 to 89. Mace, overall, what are your expectations for the Warriors going into this next series and then how did you feel about this game as a whole? This game totally redeemed Steve Kerr For a lot of people even myself is like, what is he doing? Why is he playing all these small people? Where's coming guy? Where's Moody at? Where where all of these people and then buddy Hill comes out and get 33 You know then it looks like he was on to something. It just took a little time like you used to do with, um,
Starting point is 00:37:07 with, um, with the coach for the Steelers. What's his name again? Mike Tomlin. Mike Tomlin. It was one of those. I'm back with Steve Kerr, you know, you see, I got the blue glasses, Golden State title. Town is back. Is situated. I'm happy for the Bay. You know, you, I see you wearing the blue. You try to sneak in. No, I'm not trying to sneak in. Sneak home.
Starting point is 00:37:30 I try to sneak sneak home. Is that for the next time? No, I just like the color blue day. Oh, okay. And I see killer trying to wear the Boston green. It's a lot of things going on up here. I don't like it. And I don't realistically, but you know, we did what we had to do.
Starting point is 00:37:48 We came in, we handled business, you know, they thought they stopped Curry. My boy Buddy Hill got going and that was that, you know, but what I would say about Houston, they're not ready for the big time, man. They're not ready for the big time. I know Jalen Green, he got his sleeve like he's Iverson. He got the cornrows like he Iverson. He wear number four like he's one above Iverson number three. But, you know, yesterday wasn't his day, you know, but it happens to the best of them.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yesterday wasn't his day, you know, but it happens to the best of them. I think Houston next year, they'll use this series to come back with a vengeance. They'll have a thing against Golden State next year, and they'll probably beat them next year, but we're on this year. We'll see you next year, you know. But I like, I like the Golden State blue on you, stat. This is, you know, it's a good thing to do. You see, I'm back home, title town. We established, baby.
Starting point is 00:38:51 You know? What can I say? Yeah, far the game is concerned. Look, the coach for Houston, he had a really, the last two games before, yesterday, last night's game, he was really on the sun with Sagoon and putting Adams in. Golden State was looking really, really small with those two in and they was having problems. It didn't work last night and Draymond, shout out to Draymond Green, bro.
Starting point is 00:39:22 He plays, yo, this dude comes in, six five, six six, with his sneakers on, and plays center, and he's gone Adams, gone Sagoon, does everything he has to do on the defensive, and as a center, which is crazy, which is crazy, bro. And I can't give him more props as a defender watching that game last night. We know Steph Curry's thumb is injured.
Starting point is 00:39:46 They talked about how they was smacking his hand all series, trying to fuck his thumb up more. Dillon Brooks actually admitted to this shit in last press conference after game six, like, yo man, if I had a hurt ankle, people would be attacking my ankle, your hands a part of the ball. So Steph took a while to get going,
Starting point is 00:40:04 but he was affecting the game in other ways. But yeah, the ball. So Steph took a while to get going, but he was affecting the game in other ways. But yeah, Buddy Hill came out and had a record breaking night for Golden State. He actually tied an NBA game second record with Dee Vincenzo for nine threes in a game seven, the most ever in a game seven. So Buddy Hill really stepped up and Mase is correct.
Starting point is 00:40:22 You gotta give a lot of credit to Steve Kirk because you're sitting there saying, I'm sitting there saying when I'm watching this game, oh now you wanna throw Kaminka in. The niggas ain't been fucking playing all series. You threw him in last night, he rusty as fuck. You're going, oh now you wanna give Looney some minutes. This is stuff that you have to do
Starting point is 00:40:40 in the beginning of the series so these players have a little bit of rhythm at the end of the game. Now, they're professional athletes, you gotta be ready when your name is called, your job is to be ready, it is what it is. But you would like to get them a couple minutes in game two, three, four, five, maybe six.
Starting point is 00:40:55 So when they come in, they're not just rusty. So I can't, like I said, I can't give more credit in that game. Of course the Buddy Hill, but Draymond Green defensively was outstanding. Not just defensively, he hit some key baskets even in the beginning, cause Steph Curry, I believe he had three or five points
Starting point is 00:41:16 at halftime. He caught fire in the fourth quarter, a couple points in the third, but he was basically pedestrian in the first half and Buddy Hill kept them afloat. Draymond Green defensively kept them afloat. Jimmy Butler kept them afloat. The starting five, Pazemski, if I'm not forsaken, if I say it correctly, he kept, you know, he had a decent game because think about this. They won 103 to 89 and Golden State bench,
Starting point is 00:41:45 Gary Payton Jr. didn't play, but the bench had three points. The bench had three points last night. That's not gonna carry out for the next series. Now next series, after Stats just asked me, and before I get to the next series, I think Houston, y'all had a decent year, a very, very good year.
Starting point is 00:42:02 You had some young players, some, you know, Van Fleet did everything he was supposed to do as a veteran. But I come to realize looking at Houston, Jalen Green is not the star on this team. He looks like the star. He has the image to be the star, the cornrows, the commercial, the fingernail polish, walks like a ball player, the height, could get you 38 points one time.
Starting point is 00:42:24 But the rest of the series he has single digits outside of that game He had 38 points, which means you're not that guy on the team Sagoon is the man and we have to give a lot of credit to amen Thompson that kid did his thing the series not only on the offensive end, but you got to think about him garden stuff not only on the offensive end, but you gotta think about him guarding Steph 94 feet for the whole series whenever he's in the game. It got to a point where they closed it to three points. And I'm talking about Goldisay was basically
Starting point is 00:42:53 one in his game, majority of the game. They got it to about three points in the second half. And he caught a cramp or something. And he went out for about six, seven minutes. When I say he, A-Man Thompson, who was doing a terrific job guarding South Curry. And when he went out for those six, seven minutes, that's where stuff got going. And that's where guys stuff his run, started hitting them threes and put the team back up to 17 points.
Starting point is 00:43:19 But time he got back in, it was a foregone conclusion. The game was over. But Jaylen Green is not the man. Sagoon is, and A-Men Thompson is. And A-Men Thompson, I wanna give you a lot of credit. You did your thing, not just defensively, offensively as well. Moving on to the next series, like Stat said,
Starting point is 00:43:36 it's gonna be bad. Right now for game one, and don't get me wrong, you can ride in there with momentum, but you just played a seven game series and you have to play tomorrow. There's no rest. You leave from Houston, you go back to the Bay, you leave the Bay and you go right to
Starting point is 00:43:52 Minnesota because Minnesota has home court advantage as a sixth seed. I know they got some rest and what I would say is this. I don't know what Steve Kerr's rotation is going to be or what it's going to look like, but it's enough for Draymond Green to have to possibly deal with Julius Randall, let alone deal with Gobert. You need to get Looney in there. Looney looks like the oldest 29 year old in the world. He's only 29, but he looks like 37.
Starting point is 00:44:30 I don't know what they gonna do a center position, but Draymond Green has done a tremendous job. I don't know if that could carry out to this series, but we'll see what happens after the game. Yeah, this is gonna be a goodie. Yeah, we'll see what happens. So, Kim had a realization. He basically said Jalen Green is not that guy. Mace, did gonna be a goodie. Yep, we'll see what happens. So, Kim had a realization, he basically said Jalen Green is not that guy.
Starting point is 00:44:47 Mase, did you have a realization about the Rockets that you kind of now can accept now that the series is over? Yeah, I think they're a better team next year. I think even Jalen Green is a better player next year. He'll develop that consistency because it will be embedded in his brain why he needs to do some of the things he probably weren't doing, you know, like as, as athletes, we know the thing that you lose with is the very thing.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Sometime the coach has been telling you to work on the whole year and you don't pay attention to it. Like the guy who's already always playing around when it's, when it's free throw time and then somebody get hurt. He get put in a game to shoot free throws for us to win the game. And we all know he's not going to make it because he's been playing around with this all year. So I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that there's certain things
Starting point is 00:45:39 that he just haven't worked on. Like his handle is kind of sketchy, even though he's a he's a freak athlete pause, but his handle is kind of sketchy to be that kind of combo guard. He's been playing off athleticism and this time from the develop some other portions of his game, just like Amen. He has he do all his moves and then he explodes to the basket. He need a combo move that when they do this, he could spin off or your role, you know, step back or step over.
Starting point is 00:46:12 You need another move after you make that move that cause him to be a 20 point scorer. So I hope he's watched this and go work on that because he will make moves. Then it gets to the basket and then he'll just try to bully instead of figuring out another move. There's another move right there that'll make him a really good start because he's very athletic, he's very high motor and you can't teach motor.
Starting point is 00:46:37 He has the highest motor on that team. So he has the real potential to be like a Scotty, a Grant, one of those kind of really explosive threes So he has the real potential to be like a Scotty, a Grant, one of those kind of real explosive threes or four, whatever they play him at. He could be a real danger in the NBA. And I think that takes that team to the next level. When players develop, the team go higher. Yeah, the niggas in the Olympics who run and jump
Starting point is 00:47:05 over the shit backwards, they athletic too. If you don't work on your craft, it don't matter how motherfucking athletic you is, you got to practice nigga. You got to practice my nigga. A lot of them niggas on Houston was just not, you could tell niggas don't practice yo. And you could tell go to stay practicing.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Cause they like, to be honest with Major, said, Golden State, if you're going off the motor, them niggas look like a 2025 Ferrari, and Golden State look like a 2014 Audi R8 maybe, with the old engine. But it was maneuvering through traffic better than the motherfucking Ferrari was. If you're going off motor, it was not even a competition
Starting point is 00:47:50 of whose motor was higher. But if you don't practice your craft, you're not ever gonna get better. Same thing, like even though he, and I'm not gonna use him for this series because Jonathan Kamenga didn't get a lot of play in this series, but he's a nigga some after some, even though he's young, he don't come in with nothing new.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Every year he come in with the same athleticism, jumping, rebounding, to the point where niggas be getting layups and they don't even hit the rim. That shit irks me more than anything. These niggas be 6'10", 6'8", 6'9", layup, and the shit don't hit the rim. It hit the backboard, but it don't hit the rim. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:48:26 Yo bro, that shit bothers me. If it rolls in and rolls out pause, I get it. But when you don't hit the rim, it's ridiculous. Yeah. Like these, those type of like the commingas, the amens, they need to go to a guard workout, like a point guard workout. And this is what people would do to take the game to the next level. They need those those attributes that don't come from their position pause.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Like you will see Kobe working out with a Kim Elijah on the work on his postgame. That's a guard working with a center that adds something to his game that he know other people are not going to have. That's what it's time to do. Sometimes they go on with them guys in New York. They got all of the players. Man, you might you might need to go in the hood and work with some some people that are just working with point guards and bringing the ball up.
Starting point is 00:49:19 I remember like growing up one of the players on our team. The coach said we're going to put them at the point guard. They put them on a team and let them play point guard all summer. I'm like, man, how this nigga Rich going to play point guard when he came back that year on your team? That nigga was looking different. But that's what you got to do sometimes. You got to play another position all summer. So when you come back, you have those extra moves that you need to have, because you're
Starting point is 00:49:48 not going to have them. Like killer said, you don't, you're not working on it. These niggas are hanging out and you could tell when, when you saw the game. Yeah. Okay. So the nuggets eliminated the Clippers after beating them one 22 101 mace in this series. Who do you think really stepped it up and then who kind of disappointed you
Starting point is 00:50:08 based on how it ended? I don't think it's either. I don't think nobody stepped up. I don't think anybody disappointed me. This is what I've come to know. And I want to see how Killa thinks about this. This is always the end of James Harden. Like every time we're in the playoffs, it comes to these places where
Starting point is 00:50:30 he just vanishes for some for some apparent reason. We know he's the greatest one on one player there is. And I do I do got great respect for him as a player. But when it comes to these final moments he always drifted he drifted in and um fired back as I can remember okay see he got low pause when it came to the Rockets with Chris Paul got low when they gave him to Brooklyn got low now when the Clippers back in the hometown and I don't think this was the time to do that,
Starting point is 00:51:10 because you got a Russell Westbrook on the opposite team. I would say Russell impressed me. Pause by showing up, getting 16 points in a game that matters off of the bench. 16 off the bench is like 30 of you start realistically, because that's a super boost. Kawhi did what I thought he would do, but it came, it came down to Russell Westbrook, Russell Westbrook made the difference. He had the same points Jamal Murray had and they, and they got the win
Starting point is 00:51:40 in the, in, in perfect fashion. You know, there's nothing better than beating a team that lets you go in a game seven. So shout out to Russell Westbrook. Keep adding to the legacy. What we surprised about this with niggas do every year. Just go on Instagram. We all see James in one of these parties tomorrow night. He gonna be next Friday.
Starting point is 00:52:09 I bet you right now, underdog need to put the higher, lower on if James Harden gonna be in rugs and them party next Saturday. I got, I'm definitely, underdog, y'all put that out. We going higher. I don't know what the plus minus is on it, but James Harden will be in somebody club, strip club, party, guaranteed next week.
Starting point is 00:52:32 This boiled down to the two superstars on two teams. And I remember I was saying at the beginning of this series, I wanted the Clippers to win this series to see this Kawhi against Shay Gilder's Alexander. And to be honest with you, no, I don't want to see this Kawhi against Shea Gilder's Alexander. And to be honest with you, no, I don't want to see it. I'm happy that the Clippers didn't win, to be honest with you. You changing your mind, Kayla?
Starting point is 00:52:53 I mean, as the series progressed, I changed my mind because you sit there and see the 39 point effort from Kawhi Leonard. Then you sit there and see a 32 point effort from James Hart. And then niggas become pedestrians. Like my nigga, this is game seven, James Hart in shot, I had it up here a minute ago. Game seven, James Hart in shot, eight shots.
Starting point is 00:53:15 He's two for eight, bro. You got to go nut pause if this game seven. Kawhi Leonard, 13, you gotta be selfish, yo. Your playoff life is on the line. You have to be selfish. Not only that, y'all didn't even lose in a close game. Y'all got smacked. Y'all got smacked, bro.
Starting point is 00:53:32 I don't wanna see that next round. I don't need niggas taking games off. Whether the joker has 16, eight, and 10 or whatever, he's gonna play 100%. He's gonna give you 100%. Sometimes I feel that they're not giving 100%. And what they'll say is this, if you look, I made the right plays,
Starting point is 00:53:51 they'll let the game come to me when he's over. If I'm getting double, triple, team, what you want me to do? Go to the, figure it out. Figure it out, my nigga. Game seven, your playoff life is on the line. You cannot leave the game into, in Chris Dunn's hands
Starting point is 00:54:08 or somebody else. No, it is game seven. I'm happy. Like I said, I did want to see the matchup in the beginning of the series. Kawhi and James Harden against Shay Gildersen. I'm happy it didn't happen. I'm 100% happy it didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:54:22 I'm happy that it's gonna be the Joker niggas who wanna win and who's gonna show up every night. Yeah, we don't got time for this. Yeah, I got it. We don't have time for this. I don't, exactly. This is not the time to take nights off. What I will say is this, is now we have a new storyline.
Starting point is 00:54:37 The new storyline for me is that Russell Westbrook bust they ass, have a good game. You know, he's up and down, game of dink now, but he's been playing some good basketball For the Denver Nuggets in this series, so He beat his old team the Clippers now. He got a chance to beat his other old team. OKC. So We'll see what happens with Russell Westbrook. He might be on a revenge tour right now and we'll see what happens with Russell Westbrook.
Starting point is 00:55:05 He might be on a revenge tour right now and we'll see what happens. I like that. The revenge tour. Exactly what's going on. OK, so in their first game of the series, the Pacers beat the Cavs 121 to 112 Mace. How do you see this series playing out? It's early, but what are we thinking? Man, this is this was a good game. Like that was a really good game It just seems like Indiana had an answer for every run
Starting point is 00:55:36 That the Cavs made and they're shooting the three really well really well I don't remember a team shooting this well since like Golden State. And I know that's a big statement, but they were, they were hitting threes from everywhere. I don't know exactly the stats. I don't have them in front of me, but they were, they were hitting threes from everywhere every time it looked like, you know, um, Donovan, miss you come down, get a layup or mo mobly, make a,
Starting point is 00:56:05 make a layup. It, they will come back with a three, then another three, then they'll go on another run and then they will hit two threes. It just seemed like they had answers for everything. And maybe it is just that Cleveland won the series too early. And because they won a series too early, they were a little, you know, rested, but also people call that playoff rush. And Indiana was a team that just came out of a series.
Starting point is 00:56:31 They were still, you know, warm to a degree and they came out there on fire. They came out there to set the tone. And this was a game that the Cavaliers supposed to win. Cause when you got home court advantage, you got to put fear in a team from the beginning and letting them know this is our house. to win because when you got home court advantage, you got to put fear in a team from the beginning and letting them know this is our house. If you're going to win, you got to win it at your house. We don't let niggas come in and do whatever they want.
Starting point is 00:56:53 And they didn't do that, you know, but I really like both of these teams. I really like the firepower on the perimeter and the guard exchange pause that they got on the calves, especially with the one Ty pause that they got on the Cavs, especially with the one Tyrone that comes off the bench. He could be a real problem, but they're going to have to. They're going to have to really take this next game serious and put their foot down because Indiana is one of those teams. If you let them get going, they're going to grow in confidence.
Starting point is 00:57:21 They're going to be hard to get rid of later. I don't, I don't think I Don't think Boston be in any either these two teams, too And we're gonna wreck it early. So B's oh you heard it Larry you heard it Stat heard it killer heard it. I don't think either one of these teams loses to Boston Okay, yeah either one of these teams loses to Boston. Okay, Kemp. Yeah, I think that the Pacers, like I said, the Pacers just aren't sexy to look at
Starting point is 00:57:53 when you're saying NBA teams. And you're like, okay, the Pacers, they're gonna make the playoffs just to end the third. And even it was a poll, and that's kinda what Tyrese Halliburton last series got into where he was a poll and that's kind of what Tyrese Halliburton last series got into where he was a poll and out of the peers they said the most overrated NBA player in the league is Tyrese Halliburton. Even after he sent the Bucks home he tweeted, overrate that. So he has a chip on his shoulder
Starting point is 00:58:23 as well and then they have a great balanced attack. Everybody was in double digits. Nimhart really surprised me. People aren't paying attention to their two guard with Nimhart. He's really shot a great shooting percentage. He actually led the paces in scoring. But everybody had double digits in the starting five.
Starting point is 00:58:40 What Cleveland did and made a mistake is, first of all, they better get Garland back as soon as they could get Garland back. But niggas in this league keep falling in love with the three and that's the problem right there. Donovan Mitchell was one for 11 for three. When are you gonna realize it's not working Donovan? You're sitting there going to the basket, getting buckets.
Starting point is 00:59:02 Every time you go to the basket is just about a layup, a guaranteed bucket, but you wanna keep shooting threes. As a team, if I'm not mistaken, the Cleveland Cavaliers shot seven for 39 from three point range. Seven, it has to be a time where you say, it's not working, go to the basket. I see niggas not just this game. I see niggas who be having layups and see a nigga at the
Starting point is 00:59:29 three point and be like, throw it out. It's a two pointer right in front of you, you throwing a definite two out for a three. It's getting disgusting at this point, just around the league. Because even when centers of power fours are getting rebounds, they're not even going back up directly anymore They're throwing the ball out every time that they get a rebound So they fell in love with the three last night talking about Cleveland you live by it to die by it now We know Garland hasn't been playing. We'll see what happens when he gets back, but Indiana They were really impressive and then they have a chip on
Starting point is 01:00:05 their shoulder it's kind of like and I'm not comparing that to them to these team at all but people used to say that about my team a lot of people don't know my team is dispersed and they used to be like they're boring they're not fun to look at to the point where they just kept winning so much that you started falling in love with the Tony Parkers, with the Bruce Bowens, with, you know, his name is Mr. Fundamental. That what kind of nickname is that? That means you're not doing nothing
Starting point is 01:00:31 outside of the fundamentals when I bring up my man Tim Duncan. You know, the flashiest nigga they may have had was Manu Janobli. You get what I'm saying? But they were boring and they were winning and then they got to the point where they were winning so much that you started to like them
Starting point is 01:00:45 They wasn't boring anymore because you got to think about this because you say their name and Brett Greg Popovich is one of the All-time great coaches you start paying attention like oh San Antonio is good San Antonio San Antonio wasn't a great city to for them the NBA at first they get ratings That's another thing where ratings certain teams you'd be like oh shit man we don't need these two teams playing at the end of the season because nobody's gonna watch it it's always sexy of Lakers or Boston making it's always gonna be sexy of New York making it's a major city Chicago makes it you may not want the Indiana Pacers to win or Cleveland for that matter.
Starting point is 01:01:25 If you're the commissioner, pardon me, now I'm about to say, if you're the commissioner, they're Adam Silver because you're sitting there thinking about, damn, how are our ratings going to look if it ends up being OKC against the Pacers? Some people will be like, I don't know if I want to necessarily see that. People like us, we know other players on the team, but if you're a casual basketball fan, and those two teams are playing each other, you may only be able to be named two niggas on each team. You may know Tyrese Halliburton and Shea Gilder's Alexander, and you may not even know anybody else.
Starting point is 01:02:01 You'll get familiar with them throughout the playoffs possibly, but I'm talking about the casual fan who be like I ain't keeping up. Who in the championship? The pace is okay. See who they got. You may not even know if you're just a casual fan. I'm rooting for all of them. I think they all are playing great basketball. Anybody left right now that's playing they deserve to be there and they're playing hard. I'm just giving you from a business perspective standpoint where the NBA might be thinking. And then just to clarify, so the Cavs were nine for 38 from the three, just because I know,
Starting point is 01:02:30 but it's still terrible. Nine for 38, seven for 39, same thing, I know, but like, thankfully, let me know, whatever. Sure, they didn't even have double digits and they shot almost 43. That's crazy. But hopefully, you know, they figure something out to make it more appealing for players to watch if they are not players, the audience to watch if they
Starting point is 01:02:49 are casual fans, because they also deserve that. They put in the work so it sucks that people are kind of just like, I don't really care. So hopefully something will be figured out. We will see what happens in the series that are coming up. But that is all the time that we have for today. Thank y'all for watching. And as always, it is what it is. What you want nigga? Everything nigga supersized. Two big necks, like when they doin' them two for five.
