Back to It Is What It Is.
I'm Trista Crick.
Your hopes three, two.
Welcome back to It Is What It Is.
I'm Trista Crick, your host for the week,
filling in for Treasure Wilson,
along with your host, Mason Cam.
What's good, Tris Murdo?
What's good, man?
How you doing, brother?
Long day, man.
You've been good.
A little headache.
It's all good.
You know, I bounce back quick.
I'm resilient, man.
We had this car.
I'm resilient.
but, you know, we're going to see what happened this weekend
because I know I'm not letting niggas leave Vegas without seeing me.
So we'll take care of that before the weekend's over.
I know that for sure.
Well, we're going to have...
You went off the top rope like Jimmy Fly Snooker.
I know I should have jumped into the pile,
but I didn't want to hurt Cam.
I was worried...
I was already hurt.
You were at the bottom of the pile.
Yeah, man.
Well, thank both of you guys, man,
because I did accuse murder
and not coming to help me out,
but that one I seen the footage, I see you can't.
You still move kind of fast, pause, man, he was over there.
You know what's crazy, though?
People are still saying you ain't moved fast enough.
It's never satisfied, but I tell you one thing.
To the whole, I see a few people from the bloodline that's upset.
Listen, man, don't be mad at the facts.
Be mad at the resume.
And like I said, I see y'all this week at wrestling.
I'm pulling up, I'll be there.
Well, we got to get to that
because after the altercation
yesterday morning, we got to get
to the elephant in the room. Jay Uso has
been popping off. He went on
on Shannon Sharp's podcast, and
he pretty much said that you had it coming,
and he'll do it again.
He also said he were on a motor wheelchair,
and he said, what the hell is wrong with him?
Is that why it went left? Like, I guess
I'm, as the person that was in the middle,
So like, what happened and, like, what are you going to do at WrestleMania?
Well, listen, first of all, he's talking about my scooter.
I'm in a casino all day.
The casino's big.
I like to ride around all day on the scooter.
If I want to ride around the scooter, that ain't got nothing to do with him.
He just seen me on the scooter and assumed something was wrong.
As you can see, Jay, I was up and ready, pause.
That ain't got shit to do with shit.
Now you want to go and use me for a publicity tour when you got WrestleMania this weekend.
I know I'm the biggest name that you had a fight with in a long time.
I'm probably the biggest name that you ever had to fight with.
Because you're not your father.
You're not the rock.
You're the weakest nigger in the bloodline, oos.
And that's just it is what it is.
And we'll see what happens in WrestleMania.
I can't tell you what's going to happen,
but I will tell you that something is going to happen.
But I see them on this little pressure on this little pressure.
But you notice that, Trish?
You notice that Merrill?
Well, Merritt already know.
When you're the big fish,
That's what's going to happen.
You got wrestlement here.
You fight against Logu, Paul, Speed, or...
They got to talk about killer, but it's all good.
I'm going to give your ass something to talk about, nigga.
Can't wait.
Can't wait.
Because I know one thing, he won't leave Nevada.
He won't leave the state without talking to seeing me.
He's a lot smaller than I thought.
Yeah, little nigger.
Little nigger.
Little nigger, man.
Sucker punched me and shit.
It's all good.
Little-ass nigger, though.
I got him.
Roman Rains is a lot bigger than him.
the rocks a lot bigger than him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I didn't even know that was him.
I thought that was his, like, cousin or something.
Yeah, he thought he was the mascot.
Yeah.
He looked like the mascot, little nicka.
It's all good.
Murder, you going to be the manager?
I got to come out.
I got to come out.
I'm thinking about right now.
What's my wrestling move?
Look, you don't trust me.
You ain't got to do too much.
You could just manage me.
Bobby the Brain Heenan.
You know, we're a little older.
So, you know, Luke, Lou Albin.
all them niggas, man.
I don't even know the new man just like them,
but shout to them niggas, I'll tell you one thing,
one thing for sure, two things for certain.
Ass will be kicked and it won't be mine.
And thank you, Trish.
I know you're here basically, you know,
you're part of the show all year round,
but I know you're filling in,
and for you to jump up that quick and be on my team, man,
I appreciate that, because a lot of other people
may not have done that.
I'm not sure, but I'm just saying,
you move quick, you was on point.
All day, every day.
I was ready to go.
Ray Mysterio Jr.
on that ass.
There you go.
You know what I mean?
There you go.
Hay ya!
Yeah, because I ain't going to front.
My female friends, there's like, yo, it's Trish for me.
That's all I was good.
It's Trish for me.
It's Trish jumping up on the table for me.
All right.
So you got a lot from a lot of my female friends
and my girl and all that.
They really, they liked how you was moving.
I appreciate that.
They said yoga pants and the nights did it.
It's feeling that, man.
10 toes down.
We got to get to the game that we missed talking about yesterday morning.
Clippers lost to Golden State.
Steph scored 27 of his 35 points in the second half.
Warriors were down 13, and they still ended up winning 126, 121.
Steph had a go-ahead three with 50 seconds to put it away.
holy shits
Steph at 38 years old
Mace
do we appreciate him differently now
that he's doing this on a flawed team
versus the team that had
Katie, Dre and Clay
One way to look at this
is that
Steph has always been Steph
and Steph is never going to stop being Steph
like when you think of Steph
you think of one of those playing guards
for a whole lifetime, right?
So even though he doesn't have the Clay Thompson's, the Jordan Pools,
this is still a dangerous player from anywhere on the court because of his shooting range
and there's his shooting efficiency.
So I don't think we appreciate him any less.
This is the stuff I always expect.
Every time you see Steph, he's the same player.
And I'm looking forward to even at a late age, what he'll be able to.
to do with a healthy porzengis and you give them any kind of wing and this team is ready to win
again.
They could be a shocking factor to any team at any point.
Do you think if Jimmy Butler comes back, before I answer the question, just want to ask you a question.
Do you think if Jimmy Butler's on this team next year talking about and they keep poor zingis and
I like pods too?
Do you think they're better than Portland?
Oh, my God.
I'm talking to Mace, please.
Oh, yeah.
God, I had your baby.
Definitely.
Definitely.
They're definitely better than Portland.
Even with Denny, they're better than Portland.
You know why Mace?
Because me and Tris actually was on the phone yesterday on FaceTime with Damien Lillet.
Shout to Damian Lillet.
And shout to Benavides.
Benevitas was also on the show yesterday.
We ought to post some clips of Benavita's interview
because this is a great, great.
that bullshit with Oos took off, so it kind of got outshadowed.
But make sure y'all tune into his fight.
Cinco de Mayo weekend, May 2nd is going to be a hell of a fight.
We're going to post some clips from the interview as well.
But anyway, you know, he's cool with Damien Lillet.
So we was on FaceTime yesterday with Damien Lillet, and Damien Lillet agreed with Trish.
He said, hell no, we ain't going to be no playing team next year.
And I was like, Dane, come on now.
So he asked me, he said, what do you think about the series with,
because I have my Spurs shit on yesterday.
He said, I said, you know Spurs, my team.
He said, what do you think about the series with Portland
and the Spurs coming up?
And I said, what do you think?
What are I think?
What are you talking about?
Maybe y'all get a game.
And he's like, no, it's going to be a series.
He like, yeah, you're going, it's going to be a good series.
I said, Dame, listen, you my man.
But I don't know if you didn't think I seen when he shook the nigger from Portland.
Pardon me, I think he was on Milwaukee.
And Dane, he shook a nigga from Milwaukee, and Dane went to reach and Wimby threw her behind the back on Dane and dunked on him sideways.
Murdo, you seen that?
You seen that clip?
Yeah, that was crazy.
Matter of fact, let's show that clip real quick.
Dame, you was playing.
He hit you.
Yo, you are God.
He hit you.
You, listen, murder.
Let me tell you, sir.
That was worse than Chris Weber and Charles Bockley.
Your fam, because you don't expect that for William.
Dame going to hit niggas with the, yeah, I.
Yeah, hey, Dave, you know, listen.
Dame, you, you, you want the best point guards this generation.
We defend you on this show all the time, man.
When you set up all George's home to Patrick Beverly,
Dame, Tom, we support you a lot.
Do bye-bye all that.
The bye-bye, digger.
We're fans, niggas, and you're a friend of the show.
But it's just the big alien in the building, man.
It's the big alien in the building, man.
His sneakers are silver.
What you want us to do?
Yeah, man.
And he said that, but Dame said it would be a good series, this series,
and he's not playing.
And he also said that they will not be a playing team next year,
and he agreed with Trish.
So I know it's a little long-winter than off-topic,
but I just wanted to bring that up.
And Trish, I'll give you a chance to respond to that
because I know you want to respond to it.
But let me get to this game real quick
that we're talking about.
about. Look, I argue with this
niggas sin, right, Mace? Because
you know, about five, six years ago, I
said, yo, the average age for football players,
33, 34, the average age, talking about retiring.
And the average age on basketball players about 36.
So now that you got stuff doing what he's doing,
KD doing what he's doing, of course, LeBron doing what he's doing,
oh, I thought you said the average age is 36.
I said, yeah, for the average nigger, these ain't
average niggas.
You know what I'm saying?
Now I can't use day name.
I said, yo, you can't use their name
because you're talking about the top
of the line. Oh, now I can't
use that. I say, yo,
you're saying, you're naming three
niggas out of 5,000
niggas that played the game.
I said, I even give you Jamal Crawford.
I think Jamar Crawford was still good
at 40. His last game, he had 50 points.
I even give you Vince Carter.
Vince Carter's decent. It's just the GM's like
to look at younger players because they think if they invest their time into younger players,
they'll get more out of it.
But what Steph is doing, man, is amazing.
With LeBron doing it's amazing.
What LeBron is doing is amazing.
If you watch this game, it was magical.
I don't know if you guys follow a guy named Dr. Lox.
Dr. Lox on Instagram, he's hilarious.
His voice is funny.
He's real dramatic.
When you follow him?
No, I don't think I do.
Yeah, Dr. Lox is hilarious.
Even football season he does.
You know, he's hilarious.
And the way he analyzed the end of that game was real funny.
Make sure y'all check out his gram if you haven't checked it out.
But listen, it was magical, you know, to put what he said in my own words,
because that's just what I said, what he said.
He was like, yo, you got to think about this, right?
When you're 10 years old, when you're 15 years old, it isn't when you're 10 years old.
And when you're 20 years old, it isn't when you're 15 years old.
Even though there's five years gap, it's different times of your life.
You're going from elementary school to now you're probably first having sex,
you know, and liking girls like that, like that, or doing whatever.
To now you're able to drink and go to the club, and you're a year away from,
well, you're away from drinking, but you can vote.
Just saying that.
But the reason I'm bringing that up is because he was like, yo,
he said, this is junior high school all over again, 2016.
He said, and I'm like, damn.
2016, for some niggas, they were children, right?
When Steph Curry and Clay Thompson and Draymond Green and the crew and then, you know,
Inquodal, this was literally 10 years ago.
So he's like, yo, this is junior high school all over again.
Steph Curry with the magical shooting Draymond Green on defense, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And, you know, when you're old enough, you know, I was an adult in 2016 too.
So I'm like, they back at it again.
but this is just generational shit for certain people.
But to answer to the question, Trish,
and I know I've been long-wintered about it,
but I just wanted to get to this point.
What they did was sensational.
You know, you look at the stats sheet,
and we see what Steph did.
Of course, he killed 35 points.
Paz had 20, Santos 20.
Paz had 17, pardon me.
But the role players, you got Al Hofford.
Al Hoffa, you don't win that game
without them three key three,
The key three pointers that he made, sensational.
Like, you know, they were talking about,
look at the dinosaur.
Like, it's disrespectful.
When you get out, when they can't do nothing else,
and you older, they just come with the old.
The dinosaur was out there killing Al Hartford,
three for three in the fourth quarter with them threes,
made sure they stayed in the game.
Steph hit the magical shots.
Paz's going to get fouled at the room.
But we cannot say enough about Dr. Mar Green,
because what he does does not show up on the stat sheet.
Him locking Kowai down in the fourth quarter,
only letting him get two points on his home court
and an elimination game picking his pockets.
One for six and the four.
Listen, Draymond Green deserves a lot of credit
because you do not win this game without Draymond Green.
You don't win it without a lot of people.
Of course we stay on stuff Curry.
You have to Al Harfords.
You have to pause.
You have Santos.
Draymond Green, the stuff that he does
that doesn't show up on the stat sheet
should be a crime because I don't know what you put
on the stat sheet for him saving the ball.
You know, steals pop up on the stat sheet's rebounds,
but the shit that he does is very important.
So as much as we're giving stuff to credit,
Draymond, Al Hartford, those three wield them to that victory.
And congratulations, but Trish, what stuff is doing,
I think it's magical, but we take it for granted.
You know, we take everything for granted.
You know, me and M.H., we had the differences of opinion
when he was like, this is a key season for LeBron the playoffs.
And I'm like, God damn, bro.
You know, LeBron, this is how great LeBron is, right?
LeBron, you sit there and look at him, you be like,
okay, LeBron ain't doing that good no more.
You pass it off to, because he's not saying he ain't doing good.
He's doing what he needs to do.
You're deferring to Luca.
You're deferring the offer and reads.
He finished the game with four.
14 points, 16 points, maybe get 20 on certain nights, 7, 8 assists.
Austin Reed is gone.
Without Austin Reed and without Luca, LeBron averages 28 points, 11 assists and close to seven
rebounds or something crazy.
Like, they're like, now I got to go back to being Bronron.
God damn.
But that's how much he steps up, and that's how good he is.
So it is, for people these eight, that this age, 38 years old, Kevin Durant, probably 39 soon,
and LeBron's going to be 42 this year,
sensational for those players.
Yeah, I mean, I think you hit it on the head.
Go ahead, Mace.
Yeah, that performance, even that you just gave, alluded to,
that was Draymond giving a Hall of Fame defensive take, right?
If you could ever go to the Hall of Fame for defense,
that was definitely the highlight real for it.
He was doing everything.
Pause.
He just, like I said, if there was a way to go to the Hall of Fame for defense, that was definitely the poster child for that.
Yeah, I mean, back to Steph just to like dovetail off of what Cam was saying.
I think in general, we, like you said, not just take him for granted, but don't really contextualize him with the greats as much as at least I think he will end up being.
to do these things to be able to hit multiple threes and win a game and come back,
it just shows that he's never dead, that a team that he's on is always alive,
no matter who's on it, right?
And we talked about this, I think maybe a month ago,
when it's like one player, you're down in a playoff setting,
winner go home, Shay, Yokic, Steph, who are you taking?
And I know his team is not nearly as good as the Nuggets
and not nearly at all as good as OKC.
But like, I have to choose one player,
the same team around them.
I'm choosing Steph.
Like, he's got to be a top,
he's a top 10 player of all time right now, right?
You know, when you're the greatest shooter ever, yes.
You know, you got to say yes.
You know, you know, it's hard because it's right, Trish.
And I used to be like this when I was,
younger and they'd be like, man, that nigger,
Walt Frazier and them boys, and I'd be like, yo, go ahead, man.
Yo, good ass, all right with the Bill Russell,
the Wilts Chamele and that, because I didn't get to see them play.
So now when we're older and kids and kids, not just kids,
adults are older, and we say Michael Jordan,
we say Isaiah Thomas, so we say Vanita Michael Ewan, we save Brian Scott,
we say Matt John.
They be like, y'all got to let it go.
You go, when y'all going to let it go, man?
You know what I'm saying?
And it's like, damn, but I've seen these niggas.
You know what I'm saying?
But I actually seen these niggas.
So when you don't, sometime when you don't see it,
you don't respect it.
And then you don't really get the aura or the feeling from YouTube.
You can sit there and watch YouTube,
but, you know, you go outside and be on the corner and talk about it.
You know, it wasn't all the technology we got nailed.
You have to used to go outside.
So you go outside
told me, yo, you see one niggas did last night
Are you seen this and seen that?
Like, let me ask you this, Mace.
This has been an argument
I've been seeing going on on Twitter
and going on
social media in general,
not just the last couple years,
but the last two weeks,
I don't know why this is keep popping up on my feet.
Who you take it, Mace?
Kevin Durant or Larry Bird?
Hmm, that's a good one.
I'm going Larry.
I hate to say it.
I'm going Larry.
White boy and all.
It's in the clutch.
Larry Bird is going to get it done.
Kevin Durant is great, but I'm not sure if he gets it done in the clutch.
If you're on a clutch team, no matter what it takes to win, if it's a steel, if it's a
loose ball. I don't think Kevin Durant gets on the floor to get that loose ball, but I think Larry Bird
does. So I want to give context to what I'm saying. Kevin Durant, hell of a scorer, phenomenal
scorer. But if it balls down to something without the scoring, Larry Bird will still get it done.
He'll get the swipe. He'll get the, you know, to knock off the leg, to jump out of bounds and call timeout.
whatever it takes the win, that's how I see Larry Bird.
He'll do it.
Yeah, Kevin, and I got them right to even,
but what you just said is correct.
Listen, and I don't want to take away clutch.
What I'll say is this.
Those two championships,
even though we knew they would win,
talking about Golden State, he walked LeBron down,
talking about Kevin Durant.
Yeah.
And walked him down face to face
and hit threes in his face for the,
and shout to LeBron, too.
You know, they both good friend.
But hit the three in LeBron's face.
for game four, two times in a row.
With LeBron on defense, walked them right down.
So I won't say you didn't do it in the clutch.
But the reason which you just said, Mace, you know,
I seen Kevin McHale go out and get Boston's franchise, you know, at the time.
The franchise scoring points, leading most points in franchise history for the Boston Celtics,
what I believe is 52 or 54 points, one or the other, on a Monday.
And they interviewed him, Larry was happy.
Larry said, yeah, we got a game Thursday.
I'm going to break that record.
And he does it on Thursday and goes out and gets 56.
Who does that?
You know what I'm saying?
Like, no, oh, he said the record, that's my nigger.
But I know if he gets, let me go get 56.
Who says, you know what?
I don't really think these niggas is this good.
Let me just play this whole game with my left head.
Let me get 40 points with my left hand.
I don't think I should even play y'all.
That game was crazy.
Right.
I don't even think I should play y'all niggas with my right hand
because it wouldn't be.
It's not even filled with my left hand almost.
You know, you don't get that.
And I don't get that anymore NBA.
And I'm not saying that ain't rivalry,
niggins or shit.
But who tells a nigga that?
I want to play y'all niggas left hand.
Who tells a nigga, yo, why do y'all got white niggas guarding me?
And he's white.
Who does that?
Yeah, and tell you, y'all disrespecting me, y'all know y'all shouldn't have this black guy on me.
No, white guy.
Y'all better change him out.
No, you should have this white guy on me, he said, basically.
Not a black guy.
He said, you need to have a black guy guarded me.
That's what he basically was saying, because he was like, y'all being mad disrespectful, having a white guy on him.
Like, my nigger, you got to think three championships, I think three league MVP's,
And like Mace just said, it's the passing.
The passing's phenomenal.
The rebound and the steals.
You know, the points of the shit that we say Draymond does
that doesn't show up on the stat book.
So when I hear this, you know, some people are sit there
and, you know, when I was seeing the comparisons online,
some people have Larry Bird, but some people's like,
yeah, y'all got to let it go.
Kevin Durant is that there.
and Karen Durant probably one of the best snipers ever,
because you can't do nothing about it.
Yeah, ever.
It's like 6-11, wingspan, 7, 4, whatever.
You cannot stop it.
I remember him coming into league.
They say, you need to bulk up, bulk up, do this,
gets away.
No, he's on the wing killing you, nickers.
Sniper, American sniper.
He's like George Gervin with Stefan Curry mix.
Right, exactly.
So I've seen the argument all week,
but, you know, the younger people are just telling me
this older, y'all gotta let it go, man.
You can't keep doing this with the Larry Burst
because they, you know, both small forwards.
They got LeBron there.
Then they're trying to figure out who's second and third,
you know, Scotty Pippen.
There's been an argument with small forwards.
Mace, let me ask you this before true.
We get back to Trish real quick
because we got to, I want her picking back.
That's crazy.
Going back to Golden Estate real quick
and also to Damien Lillard.
But let me get to, who do you got top five small forwards?
I was just thinking about that.
In order.
Give me top three.
Give me your top three in order.
But I think I know three, that's why I wanted to go five.
I got LeBron.
I got LeBron number one.
I got,
I got Scottie and Bird tied that to.
I mean, whoever that is,
two or three.
And then I got, I got, um,
Kevin Durant.
And I got James Worthy.
Okay.
I like that.
That's a good list right there.
Yeah, niggins forget about Big Game James.
Big Game James got it done when it counted every single time.
Yeah.
But then I'm missing mellow.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like his crazy.
Yeah.
Let me not be different.
disrespectful. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I got Mello at five. I got Mello at FI. I can't play myself.
I got to have Mello in that top five. Mello was sensational. Pause. You know, he was another,
one of those scorers at will, but championships matter, right? Because you're listening to Tidal
talent, championships matter. So when somebody say, why Scotty and how dare you put Scotty before
for KD,
Scotty got all his championships
on the same team.
And he was playing with Mike,
but he made Mike better too.
And Mike,
but Mike don't have one without him.
Not one?
Nope.
Exactly.
Not one.
Not one.
Not one.
You don't get it without,
you don't get them championships.
And I think sometimes
because people see the
the braids of Scotty Pippin,
the Larsa Pippins,
all of the backstory
that is redacted.
Sometimes you could be a, and not Scotty, but sometimes your story off the court could be so crazy that people forget how good you was on the court.
And I'm saying on the court, Scotty is definitely top two.
He's definitely top too.
I'm probably out on James Worthy just because I didn't get to see him.
And that's what that's my problem when niggas, you tell us about shit.
I totally understand.
But when Mason is saying correct.
But in our defense, killer, we got to see a lot of them niggas.
Like, I know my step-pops allowed us to see.
I saw them niggas.
No, but that's where I'm agreeing with you.
You know what I'm saying?
I said it's a little different for us because we didn't.
I didn't see Frasian these niggas play and Wilk Chamberlain and whoever.
But that's why I started the segment, I'm saying.
Don't get mad at me because I've seen it.
You know what I'm saying?
I actually seen it.
And you don't really get the gist of things.
Like, I just had a meeting about three, four days about some clothing shit, right?
And make a long story short, he was like, yo, the person I was meeting for it's from Peru.
We just talked about clothing.
And I'm like, yo, I can sell it, but if people see it, it's better than me just trying to sell it.
and sells itself.
I can say and tell you, yo, the fur is immaculate
and pony skin and this down and third.
But if you can see it and touch it, pause,
it's a whole different scenario
than me just trying to sell it to you.
And sometime, if you don't see it to Trish's point,
it just, you're like, whatever.
It's like whatever.
And I hope that someday we're not going to get 30, 40 years from now,
and people are like, this Steph Curry, dude.
Like, I don't know.
because the magic that he brings.
Well, that's going to happen.
That's going to happen.
What happens is,
what happens is especially in this day and age,
a lot of history is going to be lost
because of technology,
because it was going on, so on and so forth.
My son was like,
yo, man, I just found that Will Smith used to rap.
Oh, my God.
He didn't know Ice Cube rap.
Seriously.
It's going to get lost
because it's new history.
happening now.
You know what I'm saying?
Like if you sit there
and ask somebody, yeah, yo,
yo, you know
that nigga's Sunny Liston.
Who's Sunny Liston?
Some people might say,
a boxer, you know what I'm saying?
A lot of history is going to be lost
because they don't see it.
That's why we have fun with Stad on the show all the time
because she doesn't even know
history from 30, 40 years ago,
but you've got to realize she's born
in 2001 or 2002.
She doesn't even know what it's like.
first president is black in her brain.
Not saying when she was born, he's black, but you know,
she's six years old when
Barack became president. So she's like, all right, this is what
president is supposed to be. She ain't
no niggas was trying to kill Jesse Jackson
for running for president. That's what
the niggas don't know what Jesse is.
Some history is going to be lost.
You know what I'm saying? It's just the way
it is. But you're right. You didn't see it.
So, and then you're not going to
get the magic from it.
No pun intended.
From watching the YouTube because you don't, you know,
It's just, you know, you have to be there.
One of the things, you know, when niggas be like,
where it's time to be alive,
it's one of those situations for certain people.
Imagine how crazy that is for somebody to say
all they remember is a black guy running the United States.
That's crazy to think that that's all that they remember
from the first bulk of their childhood, the first eight years.
Right, absolutely.
Well, before we move to this,
this Chris Paul meme, which speaking of funerals is he posted.
Well, hold on.
I'm about to tell him about to give me my take about the spurt.
I mean, about the, you're talking about the Blazers, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm going to get my take about that because we're not going to do this preview.
We don't have any time for that.
I just think the Warriors are fucking old.
Like, I think they're old.
I think they're slow.
And the longer these seven-game series go on,
the more it's going to make life difficult for Al Horford.
The more it's going to make life difficult for Cremont
the more it's going to make life difficult for unknown mysterious illness, Christas,
Porzingis.
Now, they have only played 50 minutes together all season before that game.
So we don't really know what their peak is.
But I know what it's going to be the longer these things drag on.
And we saw that the fatigue, and it's a different team, but the fatigue drew on the Warriors
last year against Houston, made it too difficult.
So I have faith in Steph until he.
He's like 45.
I do not have faith in this roster.
So next year, the Blazers, count it, stamp it, will be above the Warriors.
Count it.
No, this is crazy, Killer.
You know what?
When you first spoke, Tris, it reminded me, killer,
or the old guys that be saying they have necks and they put all their team together
and the old man can shoot, and the old man can shoot, right?
He got the knee pad on.
She's minding me up.
That's them.
Yeah, now that she said that I can't unsee it.
Pulling up in gray sweats.
And they're really good.
And they know how to play together,
and they don't make many mistakes.
And that's how you used to know a player got old
because he could shoot now.
Yeah.
Well, let me tell you something, man.
You know, I know Trish was giving her her point,
but let's just be realistic.
If they do win against Phoenix,
what a treat to play okay C
We already know what that's about
Yeah
James Bond
You get to die another day
Yeah
Yeah
Surviving in the playing
What a treat
Go they'll play a healthy
OKC
What do you do?
Yeah life in hell
Speaking of which, I wanted to get you guys this take
because Chris Paul, like 15 seconds
after the clippers were eliminated from the playoffs,
posted that meme that essentially showed that guy
showing up at his haters funeral
just to make sure he was dead.
I don't know if you guys know the meme,
these man in his suit.
That went very viral.
Clearly, there's a lot of bad blood still with Chris Paul.
Yo, Nick, you got that clip?
Like, is that too petty?
Like, what do you guys think of that move?
I'll start with you, Mace.
He was just waiting there to post such a vicious meme on his story.
Well, you know, he got to write this speech, right?
And that's what he desired to share.
You know, early in the season, this same clip of team could have done right by Chris Paul.
They could have kept Chris Paul around and they could have had a better outcome.
He knows this.
When they were going home yesterday, they knew this.
Everybody watching the game, we knew this.
The first thing people kept thinking, I know, especially in that fourth quarter,
was what a difference.
Chris Paul would have made right here.
They actually went, they actually went home.
And I know Garland is an amazing player, but you just need that kind of general
that knows how to get to the next place.
I definitely don't think they would have lost first round with Chris Paul.
And not that he would have been starting, but sometimes this is where all of that wisdom of him speaking on the sideline killer comes in handy.
People don't want to hear it, but it's necessary.
When I've seen that, I said to myself, how long has he had that sending his phone?
How long?
You know how mad
You gotta be to be waiting on the news that mean
He might have been having that in his phone for two months
I know what you
I know what's me and mama use for these niggas when it's over
I know that means you watching their record
You watch this what they're doing
You watching everything these niggas doing
You watch everything these niggas doing man
You know, I know, he had probably a plethora of ones.
He had about four or five of the memes ready.
But he said, let me pick the one if they get eliminated.
If they get eliminated in the playing, I'm going to use this one.
If they get eliminated in the first ramp, I got this one for the first round.
I know they ain't going to make it past the first.
But just in case I got, yo, that's how maddy is.
Think about this, right?
Chris Paul was on Golden State, got away by Golden State, or whatever happened.
He wasn't on Golden State.
He was in Phoenix as well.
Spent the majority, I don't know, I got to say how many years he played the Clippers.
Tritch, look that up for me when I'm taking my thing, how many years he played with the Clippers.
Actually, because he had to stint with the Clippers with Lob City, and then he went back.
Played for OKC.
But we all know CP3 from the Hornets, even when they were in New, pardon me in New Orleans.
What, seven years?
Okay, thanks, Trish.
Seven years.
So this is how mad he is at the Clippers.
You know, they had a chance over there when Blake Griffin was going crazy,
Joy was over there going crazy.
And they just happened to run into being playing at the same time as a dynasty,
as a dynasty was going on.
and, you know, one year they lost the OKC as well,
so they didn't get it done.
And I thought that, and I really believed that Chris Paul thought,
okay, I'm going to retire this year.
I live in California.
I live in L.A.
I'm going to go back to an organization I gave seven years of my life to,
and they'll let me get my farewell tour.
You know, one thing for sure, we, you know, we, we,
I don't want to like to use the phrase,
we mess with, you know, talk shit about Chris Paul, whatever.
We just call it like we see it.
If I say it, I don't think it's just, you know,
going to work out with Golden State.
That doesn't think, I don't think Chris Paul is not a Hall of Fame,
point guard or Floyd General.
Yeah, first ballot.
First ballot Hall of Famer.
You know, we just didn't think it would fit with Golden State.
We didn't think he would win a championship, whatever.
Whatever was going on, we used to talk about.
The people are like, you know, you always talk about Chris Paul.
I'm like, God damn, we can't give him an opinion.
But that doesn't take away from him being a first ballot,
Hall of Famer, as a point guard.
And I believe that he thought he would get his farewell tour
because he announced his retirement
and the organization that he gave, you know,
almost a decade to would do right by him.
And then when they send him home in December,
he's like, y'all too.
Everybody, I remember he was on a plane
going to do Good Morning America
and he said he landed and found out he wasn't on Phoenix.
He said, God damn, I landed and found out
I had to come straight here.
So I think somebody who's done so much
in the NBA for his career,
he felt slighted that he didn't get to go to those arenas
in his last year and say goodbye to the fans
across the country that he played in front of
the majority of his adult life.
Basically his whole adult life.
And so he was like, you know, fuck the clippers.
I can't wait for y'all niggas to get bumped.
Y'all could at least let me send the bench.
Think about this, right, murder?
Kyle Lowry's on the bench now for the sixes.
Just clapping it up.
Yeah, they let him go out with his team.
Yeah, they, you know.
In Philadelphia.
Yeah, you know, and he's not even a Philadelphia.
We know him from Toronto.
Yeah, yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
In the city he was, in the city he was born.
Right.
So they let him finish there.
Right.
And he's not getting no burn, no none, but he's there.
And at least Chris Porto he could get that because that way you could literally,
you could get this, go half court.
Thank you guys.
We appreciate you.
You know what I'm saying?
And I don't think he could.
got to get that, and that's why he put the meme up like he did.
He felt slighted.
And to be totally honest, what you look.
Y'all, in the playoffs anyway, even though they didn't make the playoffs to play in,
you're only going to play about eight, nine people.
That's just that.
But you can't sit there and tell me you didn't have a bent spot for Chris Paul.
And I think that maybe his personality was too big to be on the bench.
You got to think about this.
Him and Ty Loo about the same height.
He might have been telling Tileu the shit that we talk about,
Mace, you don't think if we
if we press three-quarters court
that we might get
you know what I'm saying?
You know, he's coaching and Todd like, I ain't going to do this with this and like.
You know what I'm saying?
It might have been the Napoleon complex for both of them.
Who knows?
Yeah, they got Chris out of there because, I mean,
what I see it as, like some players
Like when you think of Cal Lari, he got good fortune in his background, so it comes back to him, you know.
And for some reason, it's something we just don't know about that allowed this to go the way it went for Chris Paul.
I'm not sure of it.
I'm sure everybody in the team know about it because you think about it.
Nobody stood up for him.
Nobody said this is wrong.
And when everybody gets quiet is because everybody knows something that people outside of that locker room doesn't know.
I always look at it like that.
That's what it is in music.
That's what it is in sports.
You take the same person in that same height demographics like Kyle Lari, right?
He's raised up by, you know, some OG lookout for him in the city of Philadelphia.
What does he do?
He turned around killer and marries the young girl.
I mean, and they were around the same age, not young as in he was any older, but he
marries the girl.
They have a beautiful family together.
And maybe that's why he's clapping in Philadelphia.
When you do good, it comes back to you.
If you don't, then that comes back to you, too.
You got to remember many years ago, they was getting rid of a leader in D.C.
So I'm in L.A.
So when you get rid of a leader, then that's the culture.
They get rid of their leaders in the clipball.
Yeah, yo.
Hey, yo, church, let my man Ron Harper in, man.
Oh, we're about to go.
Yeah, let Ron Harper.
Some San Antonio, Dylan, Dylan Denny.
Yeah, man.
We're going to ask Ron Harper right now what's going on, man.
Before he comes in, I just want to point out the Clippers have never.
never retired anyone's number, still.
To this day, they haven't won anything wrong.
What's up, baby?
Not one.
Yeah, we just, we just.
What's good, Trista?
What's to meet you.
What's to meet you?
What's my baby?
How you doing?
Everything is good.
I appreciate you, man.
How are you doing, man?
I said, hello.
Hey, hey, man.
You walked into the good time, man.
You walked into the good time, man.
What's going on?
You walked in at a perfect time,
how you guys doing?
What are you guys going on?
Hey, how you guys up?
You got a history.
You got six of all night.
Well, yeah, if you just playoff time, we, you walked in, we, we, we, we just, just, just, just now, we moved on.
Close that door, PT, please.
Oh, thank you.
Oh, yeah, move it, Mike.
Oh, yeah, move it, Mike.
I'm sorry.
Thanks, Ron.
Appreciate it.
This is a great, you walk.
Oh, wow.
Oh, you walk right in a great time.
Set myself up.
No, no, no, no.
Because it's no wrong answer.
No, this is a good one, Ron.
This is a good one, because Mace is on, um,
on today.
What's up, Mace?
Who is your top three?
Small forwards.
Of all time?
Small forwards of all time.
Ooh.
This was you.
The God did this murder.
The top three.
He went right in.
Yeah, Durbin.
I tell people that
you know what?
I tell people this all the time.
My number one small four
have to be Scotty Pippin.
Oh, Mace got them number two.
Scotty Pippet is number one.
Mace, who do you got?
Let's go, man.
Who do you got, Mace?
Who do you got Mace?
I have to go.
Scotty Pippin at one.
Yeah.
Ooh.
Oh.
Small four.
Scotty one.
LeBron, two.
Scotty over LeBron.
Yeah, I'm not mad at it.
Listen, I'm going to give you.
She's a little younger.
I'm going to give you my vibe.
What's your mouth.
Just so you know, she didn't even see James Worthy play.
I didn't see.
I'm too young for Worthy.
It gave James 3, baby.
86.
Yeah.
So the reason why I put Scotty Pippen
as the number one greater small foot of all time,
he can play one through five.
He can play defense one through five.
And he can control a basketball game on both ends of the floor.
LeBron, great career, would never take anything.
But.
LeBron can do all those things in his history.
Yeah, but LeBron can do it, but LeBron can't do it like he can do it.
Scotty can guard.
LeBron is a great off-the-ball defensive player.
He likes to chase down the block shots.
Scotty Pibble can pick a point guard up the full court of the basketball court
and control the game that way.
LeBron ain't picking the guy up full court.
That ain't the energy that LeBron going to break on the defensive end.
He doesn't want to do that.
This is what Scottie, this is what we had Scottie Pibble on that Chicago Bull team has.
The guy who cut the head off.
Scottie will cut the head off.
Right.
Well, you still didn't finish the list.
Yeah, that's two.
That's two.
I don't know three.
Larry Kevin Doreen.
But see, but see, I don't know if you can put Lay Bird at a small or at the size.
he had
but Lay Bird is in my
top five players of all time now
well what position do you put Larry Bird at
as a basketball player I'm not going to put him
as a one two three four or five
Lay Bird is special
See?
So he has to be in every single
Top Five men
Lay Bird is special
Right
See he's talking my language
See people don't understand
When I came in the league
And I said I want to guard
Lay Bird
Right
And they like you want to guard Lay Bird
go here, go to Lake Bird.
So we walked on a basketball court,
and I'm walking on the court,
and he's like, Rook, what you're doing over here?
I said, I'm about to shut your shit down, Bird.
I'm sorry.
Yeah, yeah.
No, it's good.
It's good.
Yeah.
They go, Rook.
You go on the Great Lay Bird.
I'm like, I mean, I got this guy.
Yeah.
He said, I'm going down low.
I'm a catch, turn around, shoot.
Come down low, hit him down low.
This is what he tells you.
He's telling me.
He's telling me, play by play.
Yeah.
We just said to me.
Come down, shoot, bang.
He said, I'm a go to the one.
wing, turn, turn, and shoot again.
I'm like, I'm throwing this back.
Boom.
Pain.
I'm like, damn.
You can't, you know, like that that size, slow, white boy.
Yeah.
But you can't guard him.
Right.
And he goes me, I'm going to shoot behind this damn hash mark.
And I'm like, behind the hash.
He's telling you this all day.
Like before.
Right before he started shooting behind a hash.
He telling me this.
He'll be, I'm going to catch on the wind behind the hash.
He catches on the wind in his.
shoots it. I'm like, and he goes, oh, that's
an air ball, and I turn around. Like,
that ain't going to hit anything. And
Nets goes up in the air. I'm like,
come guard me now. Like, I'm glad
bar, I'm not going on you.
So,
so, people don't really understand.
He was special.
Right. He was special. Before he got hurt.
Right. If he didn't ever get
hurt, man, please.
Man, that's what, that's
we was trying to explain her
because we, you know,
we're just trying to categorize
the small forwards.
So we had a Mace List actually had
LeBron and Scotty.
And she was like,
you put Scotty over
Kevin Durant.
And I mean,
and she was just too young to see it.
Yeah.
We were talking about
James Worthy, yeah.
Well, well,
we can talk about a
Cameron.
He's special on the office at end.
He's going to rebound,
but he ain't a good.
great defense player.
Ron, you got my list, Ron.
We had to start talking about the all-around game of great players.
You can have one phase and be a great player.
You can talk about LeBron James and his loan ever deed.
He leads the league and there's that and this and that.
Can you tell me what's that?
Title Town.
Can you tell me what's that did LeBron James ever lead the NBA in?
A season.
He let the NBA
scoring one time.
My goodness.
Did he ever lead an assist?
Nope.
No.
Rebound?
No, definitely not.
No.
No.
So we're talking longevity.
We're talking overall game too.
Overall game.
See, that's the, LeBron is a longevity guy.
He's like a Kareem.
They had longevity.
When we played the ball game
in our day, we didn't play for long
jevity because we knew
you was going to have a
eight to ten year
career. Right.
Going hard the whole time.
You're going on 82 games hard.
Like, if we could take off days,
which we didn't,
we could have probably played 18 years.
Right.
20. Yeah, it wasn't no low management.
No, low. What?
Listen, this one kills me
about today ball game.
If you play on a Tuesday,
If you play on Tuesday and you twist your ankle and you don't play the
Thursday, Friday, they say, well, he's out.
Well, how do you know how I'm going to feel?
Right.
Like, no, if I feel good I can play on that Friday, I'm going to play.
That's how we thought about playing.
Right.
They don't think that way these days.
Right.
Let me ask you something real quick.
I've seen you talk about it before.
We're going to talk about it right now.
Now, we ain't going to get you no trouble.
Craig E. Logar and Michael Joy.
A mistake.
Craig EloG.
So let me tell you the whole story.
Let me tell you the whole story.
Let me tell the whole story.
We swept Chicago in the regular season.
Yeah.
And we play MJ named him in Chicago.
And they asked MJ who was a better defensive player.
MJ smart.
MJ was like, well, Craig E.
So he's staying under me.
Ron likes to gamble.
And so I was pretty smart to playing the game.
I watched films on MJ.
You can't guard MJ face up to him.
You got a guard it from his right,
from his right to sides because he's going to shoot that side.
So I used to swipe at the ball all the time.
So he had to move it all the time.
So he was playing mind games?
Very smart guy.
So we're playing them
It was game five and we
Up is the end of the ball game
And we're going to the time out
I'm like
I want to guard MJ
They're like hold on
Hold on hold on I said
Hey coach
I want to go on MJ
The ball is going to MJ
He tells me to guard
Horst
I said who is grand
And me going to be up
In the fucking
fucking
I'm trying to unpart cars
Like horse grand
I don't want to
back.
We were so far away from the basketball.
I got tired.
And then the shot goes in and everybody goes.
And now,
now I'm not a fan of players who
lose and they
to cry.
I'm not a fan of that.
Like, if you lose a game, if you play hard,
it's okay to lose the ball game.
We lost a ball game.
We're going in and everybody crying.
I'm like, what the hell are you?
I'm crying about.
If you do your job, we win the game.
That's how I feel.
Let me ask you.
Mace, I'm hard.
I'm a nice guy, but I'm a meaner.
What would have happened if you would have just shaded off of Horace and doubled M.J?
I was in a parking lot.
I'm parking cars.
That's how far away from the ball I was.
Horace Grant was so far away.
I would have to get on the R-T-A-D-A-D.
Get back over there.
On that scooter that you were on in the wind.
You got to remember as well, Trish, is that you couldn't play zone.
No, we had to play man.
It wasn't no zone.
You know, that's another thing that they have today that you have to play man to man.
You know, you can zone up now and get help and so on.
That helps a lot of players out.
But you had to play man to man.
I remember because we was, for me and Mace's player kids.
And they were like, yo, it's NBA rules.
They got to play man to man.
Yeah.
And it was a big deal.
Yeah.
What are you?
Killer, killer.
Sorry, Mache's got to get back.
Because we never heard his whole five.
And you know...
Three, three, it was three, I thought.
No, it was five.
Yeah, yeah.
But there were five, so...
So I'm gonna go...
Small forwards that I forgot about, which was Barclay.
I got to...
Chalk wasn't a small four.
Chal wasn't a power for it, man.
Child was par for it.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
Dominique.
Dominique.
Neat.
Dominique.
Neat was a beast.
Neat.
Neat was one of those, one of the most exciting players
that ever played the game of basketball.
I'll tell you all that right now.
He could score the basketball, rebound, and we'll play some defense.
Neat would be in the top five, but you cannot take James out of that game.
James Worthy was so good and so smooth.
James was bad boy.
You still haven't given us, you're telling us who's bad.
You want three people.
I'm gone.
I'm gone.
You got Scottie Pippwood.
Yep.
Who's number two?
LeBron, two.
Worthy, three.
Okay.
Dominique, four.
And five, I put Kavanaugh in there.
Okay.
At the five.
Okay.
See, you got a retrition.
Let's adjudicate something real fast because.
Just adjudicate me.
Like, settle something.
Oh, let's settle what?
Let's settle this.
So I'm a longtime Portland Trailblazer fan.
Ooh, I'm sorry.
I know.
I'm sorry.
But we're in.
We're in the dance.
Yeah, y'all play the Spurs.
Yeah, I know, I know.
That's my team.
The Spurs?
Yeah, because you know, what happened to, you know,
Rod Strickland is my guy from New York.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So when he went there and when he left, I never left.
I just stayed with the Spurs.
Smart guy.
That's a great place to be in a great organization.
Great organization.
They know how to build championship teams.
They do.
Cam thinks that when Damien Liller comes back,
Portland's still going to be a play-in team.
I think they'll be top four, top five seed.
No, no.
Will they be a play-in team?
They will be fighting for the six.
It's just like having another mace here.
No, no, no, no, because you got to understand.
The east is loaded.
The east, you got O KC.
You mean the West?
Yeah.
I mean, I'm sorry to fast.
You got OKC.
Yep.
You got the Spurge.
Yep.
Denver.
Yep.
But Houston, we don't, I mean, come on.
You got to say, they don't have a point.
They don't have a point guard this year.
You might as well be one of us, man.
That's what I said.
It's like another race.
But they got to have one soon.
Yeah.
They got to have one soon.
Yes, they don't have one soon.
Yeah.
So you got to understand.
These teams are younger teams.
I mean, Portland has a great start this year on trying to get something.
that's true.
But you got to understand.
Amen is, what?
34 or five?
By 36.
Yeah, 36.
Did you see Denny play the new guy Denny they have?
Great player.
Yeah, great.
So she's on the hype train of Denny.
I've been on the high.
I've been pushing.
He played for the Wizards.
How long have you been to be in?
He had great years.
This is the first time we get a chance to see
him play because he played on that high school team.
Mm-hmm.
in Washington.
Yep.
So this is the first thing.
They called that the high school team.
That's not, that's, that's, like the AA.
The go-go's.
Like, you know, we don't really call that an NBA team.
I mean, there's, there's some teams that shouldn't be called an NBA team,
and that's one of those teams for sure.
This is Title Town talking to you, Trent.
It is.
No, it is title town.
Is it?
This is what it sounds like.
It is.
Yes, it is.
When Dylan, when Dylan got drafted to San Antonio.
I was so happy.
Were you?
He, he was like, Dad, I want to go to Washington.
No, he did not.
He was like, I want to go here.
I want to go there.
I said, son, there's a thing that called being in the NBA
and playing in the NBA.
There are some teams that are in the NBA,
but they ain't trying to play in the NBA.
You, in San Antonio,
You have a great organization that won championship,
that know how to build championship,
and got a high character thing.
And you can have an opportunity to be a part of something special.
And that's all I cared about.
And he is.
Yeah.
And y'all got us next.
But I wish they were to change the one, one, one rule I thought was,
I thought he could have went to the NBA from his last year, the high school.
He had that size.
And he's very smart player.
When I saw him in high school, he was so much better than everybody else, so much more controlled.
You could tell when he was with other McDonald's All-Americans, he was the alpha.
Even Ace, who is long, athletic.
Great player.
Great player.
Even Ace looks to Dylan.
Like everybody looks to Dylan.
Yeah, he's a, he, he, he had that thing when he was a younger kid.
And the thing that I always used to talk to my two kids about was the mentality.
Because you have a lot of great players who have a lot of great skills, but they can't fake the ball game.
They can't make the other players on their team good too.
and he always had that.
That's just so.
Let me ask you.
Yeah, this amazing because last, just earlier in the week,
I was talking a few days ago, I was just talking about,
I called him Ron Harper Jr. by, like, no, I don't know.
He's playing too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was just saying about how, like, how special that he was on that team
and how he's going to make that team a championship team.
I said, if he shows up.
on the on the on the on the defensive side exactly what we was talking about earlier i said if he shows
up on the defensive side that goes with his offense they're going to be a championship team because
that they when they got castle and everybody else but i they have some great players over there
and you know what the bang is that he's that difference maker they that's the one thing that
basketball team don't care who the a player to be player
They just play with them what they have.
And they play a team game, and they all are friends.
That's what they're young, too.
They like, you know, when you are younger basketball, basketball team,
you've got guys who I'm the man, this guy, I'm the man, I'm the man.
That team don't have that.
They got the big kid, NB, who is a crazy.
good and they just feed off of him.
Well, Ron, we're going to ask a couple more things.
We ain't going to keep you all night.
I'm so happy you walked out.
You walked past right on small four.
I told you all that was showing.
I was like going to Cam and Cam's like,
no, you know what it was?
I seen them because I've literally used a reflection,
but there's so many people that I'm like,
I don't know who this is, just looking in here.
There's a lot of people who come by.
Tris, when you've been on this long,
you've got to use peripherals, reflections, everything,
I didn't know it was.
I didn't know it's wrong.
I was like, it's a pretty tall nigga
just staring right there.
Just staring at me.
And whatever.
Who do you, real quick.
Who do you?
Let me, well, before we get to that,
two questions,
and I don't know if Mason has a question,
but this is my last two questions.
The wildest thing that you've seen
playing with the balls from Dennis Rodman.
I can't.
Loaded, dog.
Loaded, dog.
Loaded.
Let me
First of all
Just tell you right now
Roman may be one of the greatest
Artist
Players that promote
Oh to him
He didn't ever change from who he was
And what he was going to do
And was trying to do
But here's a guy
Most basketball teams say
You gotta be there
At an hour and a half before the basketball
about a
Romney used to walk in that thing
about six,
30,
take a cold,
he takes a cold
hour,
a cold.
Yeah.
He don't oil up
anything,
put his shoes on
and go out there
and get every
freaking rebound
and guard everything.
This guy will,
we go out
one night
me and him go hang out.
You're like,
hey, Ryan,
we're going out
tonight.
I'm like,
ride, man,
I go out with you.
Ron, we go out, and you know how everybody
go on last call for alcohol?
Yeah.
Man, last call, Rob, he's like, give me 25 shots.
I'm like, I'm like, what?
And it was just you two?
Give me 25 shots.
And I'm like, Rod, I got to drive home.
Like, come on, come on, bro, hey.
He's these 25 shots.
25, at least.
I'm throwing them bits of every day of place.
I'm not drinking this shit.
He walked in
He walked in at 1045
Shoes untied
He got a pajamas on
This 1045 a.m.
For practice.
I just thought that he
L-L-Lavon.
He walked in his pajamas
His shoes untied
and run like nothing happened.
A damn deer.
He's running like a damn deer.
I'm like,
dude, I'm about like
I still smell.
He's like, oh, bro, I'm good.
I'm like, dude, you're crazy, dude.
Yeah.
What about, and I, you know, I've seen this from, you know,
watching the last dance a billion times
and just being fans of you guys as a kid watching
you play, as a former high school basketball player.
What was it like when this nigga left in the middle of the series
to go wrestle?
So gamble?
Yeah, he did gamble.
No, gamble is what they want to do.
That's what I'm saying.
We, we were.
an older team, so we had
whatever he felt like he had to go do,
go do it. Because we knew
when he come back, the next
ball game, he is zoned in.
He is zoned in. He's going to do whatever
that's crazy to do.
But whatever he did, off the
court was okay with
all of us guys.
As long as he came back
and he played basketball and he played
the way we needed him to play and he
did everything. That's what's up.
My last question, I don't know if Trisha Mace has a question.
Who you got in the finals this year?
Now, who's going to win?
Who you could pick them to go to the finals?
Come on, man.
Come on, man.
You know I would go Spurs.
Yeah, yeah.
My son was Spurs.
You know what I really want to see?
It's the Spurs and the Boston.
Two of my sons.
That would be crazy.
That would be legitimate, man.
My whole year.
Yeah.
What jersey you win?
I'm not wearing no jersey.
That ain't what I do, maize.
I'm rooting for the Harper Boys,
and I'm leaving at that.
The Harper Boys go to get a championship ring.
I'm leaving at that,
Mace, I'm not wearing Ron jersey.
I ain't wearing...
Telling it.
I'm just cheering for the Harper Boys.
And whatever happened, going to happen.
How do you handle that on who loses?
Don't worry about it.
It'll be all right.
I'm a hug.
Hey, boy, you y'all try again.
Yeah, that's what sucks.
That's what I'm like.
Like, you know, everybody, like,
you go to the game, you'll be cheering.
for them who, I'm like, I just sit them, I was like, this is unreal.
Like, these two kids been saying this is, it was 10 years old and five,
they were saying, Dad, we're going to be in the NBA.
And my whole, my whole thing about telling your kids is work hard, chase your dream,
keep the outside out there.
Because every one going to compare you to what I did.
Right.
You don't have to be me.
I'm not going to play basketball.
This is your dream.
I'm going to support whatever dream you have.
And it's so cool.
That's what's up.
That's what I.
That's what I.
Baby.
Yeah, no doubt.
See that hole is chilling.
I want to tell you, thank you.
Like, you are part of my favorite team of all times.
Like, so when I think of this whole concept that I speak about of Title Town, it comes from that
team that you were a part of.
So I really appreciate you and admire you and everything you guys did with the balls.
And, Cam, no, I don't give anybody credit.
So you're not like.
Come on, I'm going to be honest with you.
I'm giving any.
He doesn't get anybody credit.
But last month, the Lakers and the 80s was his favorite team of all time now.
That team was very good.
That team.
That team.
That is my second team.
I'm not.
They was very good.
They had a very great team, Mace.
They had some great players on that team.
No, absolutely.
But I don't know if they would have played that Chicago team.
The only one we would have had a problem with the player was a ring.
Yeah.
And that's about it.
Yeah, those are.
Yeah, so I really appreciate that.
And I appreciate everything you've done for the sport.
And I want to tell.
Likewise, same parent.
I really want to tell Mo.
I can't wait to tell them more.
I told you I know people in Ohio, man.
Oh, come on, don't.
They don't know how, baby.
Hey, hey, hey, this is what I tell folks all the time.
And everybody wants to tell me who's the best high school player that ever came out of Ohio.
And everybody goes to Brian Jay's.
I said, no, that's a guy by name of Clark Kellogg.
He was the first LeBron James.
Oh, wow.
So go back and do your research on Clark Keller Law.
Right.
He was the first LeBron James.
Yeah.
What's wild is when I think about Clark Kellogg, I think about TV.
But he was a great basketball player.
Yeah.
I mean, that's my man.
Listen, I saw him.
I'm like, when I was a small camera, I'm going to be just like him.
Like, he could play.
Right.
He had all the tools.
Right.
So that's what's up.
All right, y'all.
Enjoy the play.
All right.
Listen, we wrapped the show up.
We wrapped the show up, Patricia.
Yeah, that's it.
I mean.
Listen, that's all the time for it is what it is.
Let us know in the comments.
What did you think about the great Ron Harper's top five small forward list
that left Larry Bird out of it because he's every category?
He's not in the top five, Ron.
He's one A.
He's saying that he's top five all time.
All time.
But we have no position that Larry Bird is in.
Anyway, we can't have this debate anymore.
Thank you so much for watching.
And as always, it is what it is.
Also, thank you, Trish, for filling in this week, man.
