Welcome back to It Is What It is.
I'm Treasurer Wilson, aka Stat Baby, along with your host, Mace and Cam.
Mace, what's up, bro?
Good, man.
Oh, my God.
This nigger.
S this nigger.
It's matched the jacket.
Loyalty is rare, you know?
Trish yesterday to you today is crazy.
That's wild.
I didn't even think I had this hat on.
I didn't, I didn't need it anyway.
I just thought about it.
You're wild, man.
I didn't even think.
I didn't think I had this hat on.
It's crazy.
But, you know, y'all all have fun up here, man.
Y'all have fun, man.
Y'all enjoy your soul, playing musical teams, man.
Enjoy yourself.
New York fans are going to be mad.
Oh?
New York fans are going to be mad because, like, we're talking about jenxing,
this is exactly how it starts.
This is how it starts.
This is how you jinks it.
With a loyalty and wrist jacket on.
See, I wore this hat because this is this is where the champions are made of, New York
Yankees.
All the people who say I'm not New York.
I actually can motherfucking walk the Yankee Stadium from my house, man.
Literally.
Oh, I like that, pause.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Week of the week.
Stat, you think I'm jinxing it, stat?
Yes, I'm claiming it.
I don't know.
But also, also, it could be good.
So we'll see.
It might be lit.
It might be lit.
Who knows?
Who knows?
PT?
What you thinking?
and PT.
It might be lit.
I don't know.
I don't care about the Knicks.
Oh, yes, I can't team.
O KC down.
Everybody else's going to. I'm getting down, man.
Okay, C down, man.
Yo, yeah, P.T.
Yo.
Okay, C, man.
Shout out to Shane in the crew, man.
You know what?
That's my second team too.
Yeah, yeah.
Come home with me.
Come home with me.
Oh, yeah.
You're wilding.
Yeah, that's a fact.
It's going to be that kind of morning.
Super, super, super, wild.
See, I'm not going to rep any.
teams right now. I'm just represent the home team. It is what it is. I took a play out of Marisa's
book. I had to get me a little shirt because I wasn't here for that. You can read it.
Your hairs. I don't, I don't smell what the Usa's cooking. Oh, that's dope. I had to take a play out of
Marisa's book. That's what I got. Yeah, I like that. I don't smell with the Usa's cooking.
Yeah, that's hot. That was funny. I missed it, but yeah, we're after it is what it is all the way.
That's hot. I don't smell with the Usa's cooking. I need that show.
It's a grill, but, like, it's cooking and it don't smell good.
Yeah, that's, yeah.
Yeah, I like that.
Had to do it.
No teams, though.
I learned.
I learned.
I sent you that direct.
We're like, well, you got one of those choices.
I made the graphic.
I asked Maurice.
We put it together, but yes, everybody will get one because it's fired.
That's fire.
Okay.
On to basketball, just not the next.
So we're going to talk about the Cavs.
Cavs lost the Pistons, 107 and 97.
Mace, who needs to step it up for the calves?
I mean, everybody know who need to step it up.
It got to be James Harden, right?
I was looking at this game.
I was like, yo, what's going on?
Like, he didn't look like itself at all.
And then when you got Kay, Kay was looking like he was doing whatever he wanted to do out there.
Paul, one time he had a crossover, step back.
I was just like, come on, man.
I saw him a big man.
And then your boy James Hardin come down, try to try to, try to,
get into his bag, gets the ball stolen for the game.
It was just crazy.
It was a bad game for the Cavs.
I think it was really bad.
And Donovan Mitchell was getting busy.
It seemed like he kept doing that same move.
Just bounce the ball, throw it over their head, and just shoot the floater.
He got 30 points with the same move.
It was really like a crazy game to watch.
I think they might get one game.
The Cavs might get one game if that.
They definitely go home.
And remember I told you about the chemistry,
that's exactly what it looked like.
They got Robertson hitting threes for Detroit.
Detroit got everybody there, Rick Mahorn there,
Joe Duh, Mars, everybody in the building.
So it seemed like it's a foregone conclusion.
I can't wait to see them against the Knicks,
but this game was good for Detroit,
but it was horrible for the Cavs.
Yeah, um, listen, bro, that's part of me.
Let me pull my shut up.
James Harden, three for 13, is not going to cut it, brother.
This is, I don't know.
What goes on this time of year in James Harden life that he tones it down on the basketball court for the last 10 years?
I don't know what are you going on in spring and early summer to where he slacks off basketball-wise throughout his career.
It's not going to cut it.
But I was just talking before the show started in any series.
on the East Coast is concerned.
Kay Cunningham is going to be the best player on the court.
And we've seen that Orlando had a recipe for that for three games.
But since then, they figured it out, talking about the Pistons.
The Pistons won three games against Orlando straight,
and now it's two games straight against the Cavaliers.
They got Jenkins coming off the bench looking like he should be the six-man of the year.
Motherfucking Tobias Harris, I know Philadelphia 76 affairs like,
This nigga, where the fuck was you at when we needed you, nigga?
Tobias, I used to be so mad at Tobias Harris
when he was on the Philadelphia 76ers.
I'm not even a six-as fair.
I'm like, this nigga's about six-eight, six-nine,
motherfucking, and playing passive.
And I'm like, yo, this nigga got the size paws
and everything to be one of them dudes
or not necessarily contribute more than what he's contributing.
And he just wasn't producing for me,
at least when I watched the games with six.
You got Joel Embed, you know, Ben Simmons at the time.
I'm like two light-skinned tall-nigger.
Y'all niggins should start acting right.
Y'all could be, I'm not saying shooting wise,
but y'all could have been the taller version of Steph Curry
and Clay Thompson.
Backing niggins dangling in the paint,
we knew Ben Simmons couldn't shoot, but he was not producing.
And now we got Tobias Harris to threaten the playoffs.
Tobias Harris during the regular season
didn't have back-to-back 20-point games at all.
Yeah.
But in the playoffs, this is his seventh,
I believe, straight, 20-point game.
Oh, yeah, it might be seven.
Seven now.
Yeah, so this is seven games straight
with 20 points or more.
And he's a problem, and know what it is?
It builds the confidence up because now he called it for it.
Yo, yeah, yo, I got one.
Tobias Harris got one?
Yo, I got one.
To pay him, feel me, Pete?
Tobias Harris talk about,
Yo, I got one.
You know, he's seeing that from Tobias Harris.
Yo, I got one, my nigga.
Detroit turned him up.
Yeah, so he's looking real, real good, man.
And like I said, I'm really impressed with Jenkins coming off the bench.
We talked about it yesterday's stat.
I'm even seeing this thing coming off the screen.
Another nigga, not saying he never was able to shoot,
but you got motherfucking Duncan Robinson, like,
the screen, nigga coming off 17 points?
Yo, Pistice is a guy?
And that was the real question for the Pistons coming into the playoffs,
especially the games that they lost to Orlando.
Who's going to help Cade out?
Because we know what Cade's going to do.
Cade, I don't even know what kind of person.
You know how they always do these comparisons.
Oh, he plays like this person.
He plays like that person.
I really don't even know who to compare him to
because I've never seen somebody this move,
but at the same time be aggressive.
He's a pause.
It's like, yo, he's smooth, but then,
get off me, d'nagher.
Then, you know,
don't, he's a transcendent player.
I don't even know somebody can be like,
yo, he used to play like Terry Cummins,
you know, he played like this person.
I don't, I have nobody really to compare him to.
And I love his game,
but the question for me was who's going to help him out?
And he's getting a multitude of help from different people,
whether it's off the bench,
whether it's Duncan Robinson,
whether it's Tobias Harris,
acting like he's the Scotty Pippen to his joint.
And Cleveland looks like right now,
outside of Donovan Mitchell,
they're not emotionally involved.
Donovan Mitchell, you know, he's playing hard.
He and they're pumping his fish,
or anybody else is like, whatever.
If I'm the coach for Cleveland,
to me, Detroit doesn't have any real, real center.
They got, you know, you can use Durran
or the wow, what's the way?
What's the wild nigger name, man?
The Biacritory.
He's a steward.
Yeah, yeah, the wild nigga.
I caught on a wild nigga.
Listen, you could use them, but every time Mowbly gets it,
and he uses his aggression and gets to the basket,
he makes them look little.
He makes them look real little, so I don't know why
they're not running plays through Mowbly to get him easy buckets.
Every time he's on the box and gets in the paint,
everybody on Detroit looks real little.
My plan would be, let's figure it out, get the ball in the paint, and Eric Mowgli's going to have 45 points tonight.
That's how you do it.
You play big ball against little ball pause if I'm Cleveland, because what you're doing now is not cutting it.
So it's looking real good.
You got Knicks 2-0, you got Detroit 2-0, and it's looking like a collision for the Knicks against Detroit.
Now, we're not going to say that, you know, the regular season is not the playoffs.
So you may have the Knicks like, we want Detroit,
since everybody talking about they beat us by 25 points three different times.
They talk about Kay Cutharham came in the garden for 42 points.
Let's see what's going on now.
It's playoff times.
It's a different time.
But that would be interesting to watch because Detroit definitely won three times
against the Knicks by average of 25 points.
So this may be an interest in Eastern Conference Finals if things keep going the way they are.
Yeah.
And I want to say.
They definitely don't want that game.
They definitely don't want that game.
I think they were hoping the Cavs show up.
They definitely don't want that game.
But we'll see.
Yeah.
And then not only that, we got to think about the injury with O.G.
and the Nobly, how severe that is, because that would be a real problem.
O.G. and the Nobly is very, very, very consistent.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm not sitting there saying they call it any towns hasn't been really playing well.
As of late, we know Jalen Brunson on offense very, very consistent.
We have no questions whatsoever with Jalen Brunson.
I only question with Jalen Brunson is defensively.
But O.G. and Anobli has been the most consistent on both ends of the floor for that team.
So let's see how severe that injury is moving forward.
And hopefully it's not because I don't want to be raw.
I don't want to say rob, but like of a good game because that's exactly what we want to see.
But I wouldn't say he's even bigger than just the teams,
even just the fans to see Detroit versus New York alone in the playoffs,
I feel like that's a whole different thing.
So we will see what happens.
Okay, so Draymond and Austin Rivers have actually been going back and forth a lot.
And this is a continued thing after Draymond spoke about Steve Kerr on his podcast
and said, as much as he's done for me in basketball, a part of me thinks he's hindered me in my career and what I could have become.
When Katie came from 2016 on, I have not played.
how to play in our playbook.
So Rivers was commenting on it,
and he thought Draymond's comments were crazy
and actually defended Steve Kerr,
explaining that Drayman was left open 80% of the time
and was never a scorer.
So there's more back and forth,
but Mace want to start just here.
What's your opinion on Draymond's comments
regarding Steve Kerr?
As the Rivers said, he was left open, 80% of the time.
You don't need no play if you open 80%.
of the time. You got Clay
shooting lights out. You got
Curry shooting lights out.
You got arguably
the best one-on-one player
ever that played the game
in Kevin Durant. So
what player they're possibly going
to run for you?
This is crazy to think.
Who's running to play for
Draymond? Killer, they're bringing
up the ball and Steph got the
ball. What play is
that call? You got ice cream,
you got
four high
you got motion
you got
triangle
what
what play are we going
to run
for Draymond is
wild
he knows
this is going
to get us
talking
there's no
way you
call a play
for him
maybe that's
why he
punch your
on Jordan
Poole in the
face
Jordan Poole
said I'm
the fourth
option
he can't
even be
a
poor
a pro
a
Dream on with the isolation players.
Yeah, the internet might have been the worst thing to happen to some people, man.
Like, I love Draymond.
Draymond was at the game yesterday, man.
I love him for Detroit and everything being a Michigan guy,
Saginald guy's close to Flint, a Michigan state, you know, Spartan.
But come on, Draymond.
Cut Steve Curse of slack.
There's no play to run.
Killer, you running a play with Draymond?
Draymond, no.
You're bringing the ball up.
Draymore, my guy, you know.
I know what you say, though.
What's the play?
We're running.
I can see KD like this.
What are y'all doing?
I'm gonna be honest with you.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
Statt didn't even read.
I don't know if you seen this shit,
Mason.
Austin Rivers went to fuck off.
I don't know if you seen.
I don't know if you seen.
That's how crazy is sound just listening to him say that.
I'm being nice because that's my guy.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, yo, what are you talking about?
This is throw your hat.
This is throw the playbook.
This is break the board, you know?
Like, who's throwing this play?
Who's running his play?
Who's out there when he's running this play?
Him and Wiseman?
Who's out there when he's running this play.
See, those things are playing in Wiseman.
Crazy shit is like this.
It's like, because Draymond,
You know, people, as many, as many legendary players came through Golden State,
talking about for decades.
Draymore's the leading person with triple doubles on Golden State.
He has the most triple devils ever in Golden State history,
which is, which is crazy, considering all...
I'm going to walk off, me.
Yo, thanks a lot.
You start this right now, care.
I'm going to walk off.
I'm going to pull one of your moves.
Oh, my God.
You got Tim Hardaway, Chris Weber,
free will.
We're talking about
Draymond got the most triple-doules.
Go ahead, kill him.
But he do.
He do.
I'm lying-staffing.
I'm lying-staffing.
But he do.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
All them players, nobody got more triple-dubals
than Draymond Green.
That's what I'm saying.
That's a fact
That's a fact.
It is, yes, franchise record.
Who got the most?
Draymond Green.
That's what I'm saying.
Maseo ain't making this shit up.
You think I'm just making this shit up.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
I know, it just sound crazy.
I'm thinking Monty, Ellis, you know, William.
Yeah.
You know, L.A.
I'm thinking niggins do a game crazy.
Ben Davis.
Yeah, run TMC, everything.
This is what I'm trying to tell you.
I ain't just making sure.
shit up, murder.
Hey, Mitch, rich, man.
Yeah, so think about that.
All the players you name,
he has the most triple doubles
in franchise history.
You know how many, and I'm going to give you an example
how significant that is, right?
You know how many?
I'm asking you, if you don't know it's cool,
but I'm just asking, do you know how many triple doubles
Carmelo Anthony has in his career?
Probably, like, 12.
I know how many of this.
That, tell him, if you're,
I'm gonna do this.
Stack it two.
Yeah, that's two.
You're the story into the game.
You're talking about a nigga going nuts.
This is what I'm trying to tell you, right?
Nigger said, no, I got him.
I don't see nobody.
That's what I was saying.
No, no pick.
No.
No.
Yeah, exactly.
So my point being
is you would think of, like you said,
that's not a bad guess at all,
12. You know what I'm saying? I noticed
that because
I was doing some home,
this was like a few months ago. I was thinking
about, not thinking about, I was looking at some stats
and that shit, the stats jumped out to me
that because all the players
you just named, you like, nah,
this thing you don't got the record. That's one of them shit's
you Google four, five, six
times to make sure you ain't bugging.
Like, nah.
He ain't got the record.
Then you Google four, five, six times that Carmelo Anthony only has two triple doubles.
But don't get it fucked up, neither, right?
You know, the rebounds are earned and everything else.
But when you play it when playing stuff, triple doubles.
Yeah, come on, Steph.
This might be the easiest triple double.
I could have got these triple doubles.
Wait, wait, Clay and Steph.
On the assist part.
Come on, the assist was easy.
Yeah.
But it might have been harder to get rebounds
because the niggas wasn't missing.
Yeah, and not only that,
if you do miss on the jump shots,
you know the rebounds are long,
pause nine out of ten times.
Yeah.
But I'm not going to discredit his triple doubles, man.
Nah, that's what I'm saying.
He worked for his triple doubles.
Yeah, yeah.
The hardest triple doubles probably ever to get was probably Westbrook.
Westbrook was earning his triple doubles.
He was playing with nobody.
He had to do everything.
Yeah.
I remember that year,
Westbrook had like 50 triple doubles.
He earned his triple doubles.
We got to put some respect on Russ's name, man.
You wear some different outfits, but, you know.
Yeah, nah, man respect to Russ, too.
He doesn't cheat the game.
He plays no matter who he plays with, he plays with 150%.
But with that being said,
What I took from this was this.
You know, Steve Kerr's contract is up.
And it's like, damn, we don't even know if Steve Kerr's coming back.
What if Steve Kerr is negotiating to come back to the Warriors?
And Dr. Marmon, like, yeah, this nigga fucked them my career up,
ever since KD left.
How does that work in the locker room?
You know what I'm saying?
Like, we, me or you were just fucking around with each other.
Like, yeah, I just heard you say I was going to be late.
They, they're too niggas, they grow up together.
They don't know each other like to be doing that.
Yeah, like, yo, Steve might be work.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, all right.
That's exactly what I'm trying to say.
You're going to be playing for the Raptors, nigger.
Yeah, exactly.
You're going to be playing with the Raptors.
Keep it up.
Right, because you got to think about this,
even though Steve Kerrard had that team that Mark Jackson basically
groomed for him to get, you know,
you still got to coach them to the championships
and to get to those championships
that they got to.
So I don't know, man.
As far as, I'm looking at it from that aspect.
If Steve, he must got inside information
that I'm taking that Steve Kerr isn't coming back.
Maybe he took it as Steve Kerr put,
told them niggas, you'll be honest with you.
I ain't going to make it public,
but I'm going to keep it moving.
I don't know.
It's for a fact.
That's the only way that I can see
him saying it's public.
or he just don't give a fuck
if Steve Kerr come back or not.
I said what I said.
But I went and say that publicly
if I know that could possibly
still be my coach.
But I'm not him.
You know, that's him.
What I will say is Austin Reeves, though,
Rivers, pardon me.
He went on the tangent.
Statt was nice about exactly what he said.
I'm going to read it.
Austin Reeves went crazy, Mason.
I don't know if you've seen it or not.
He went crazy.
Rivers.
Say what he said.
Rivers.
All the things.
names just they on.
Now the nigger went crazy, yo.
He went crazy, my nigga.
He went off.
And it was like, he said everything you probably are thinking right now.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's, matter of fact, that got in the reason.
So those are a couple parts.
I want to read Dremont's part and I want to read Austin.
So basically, Draymond, after Austin Rivers basically said he was open most of the time.
Dreyman said Austin Rivers is on his second act while he's still currently on his first
act, which is still being a player, still playing in the NBA.
But hold on, hold on the reason why that's significant, not to cut you off, is because
they got drafted in the same year.
Yes.
So that's why he's basically saying, I'm still playing a year now.
But that's why I think that line is significant against that.
And then Draymond said him and Austin averaged the same amount of points in high school,
and he says high school because that's when he was at his best.
He also said Austin was the biggest bailout in NBA history when his dad gave him 42
Mill. So then Austin Rivers came back and said, I was ranked number one. You were ranked,
I don't know. You were really good college player, but it's hard to compare because I was only
there for six months, something you could never do. And then he also said Draymond has to be the
luckiest basketball player he has ever seen. Yo, listen, man, hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on,
hold on, man. Hold on, hold on, hold on, mate. Fuck that. We're going to play the clip. We got to play
the audio, yo, because when status is, I mean,
That's being nice about. Hold on.
That's a good conversation, though. Afterwards, killer, remind us to say, who's the luckiest
player to ever play in the league?
No, we got to play the audio.
The whole thing.
Listen to this, man.
This is ridiculous.
Seriously.
Ridiculous.
But you know what?
I'm going to address it because you cross the line and you are mad disrespectful for
for whatever reason.
You've been around too long.
We both were drafted in the same class.
The fact that you don't have the wearerth all to do your due diligence and actually
understand I was being highly complimentary of you on the Dan Patrick show, but it's it's you and I
shouldn't be surprised. You always act irrationally, emotionally, emotionally immature and your anger always
puts you in hot water. So here I am having to address a video of you belittling my career.
First off, Dremont, we weren't the same players in high school. I don't care about our numbers being
similar. I did it at the national level, the top level. Hence why I got the Naismith Award and I got
pretty much every award you could think of in high school. I was ranked number one. You were ranked,
I don't know. So cut it out.
Next. College, you actually were a solid, you actually a really good college basketball player, but it's hard to compare because I was only there for six months, something you could never do.
Talk about I was, you know, one of the featured guys. I was the guy. I led my team in scoring. I was first team all ACC, freshman player of the year.
Lottery pick. Stop. Next. NBA, hey man, you got it, Dre. I mean, listen, I played the NBA for more than 10 years, more than a decade, but 11 years, but I'm not a Hall of Famer like you. So I'll give you that credit. All right, you got it.
but let's peel back that onion and understand why.
Easy, Tiger.
Okay?
You have the delusion, the non-warthal, the irony of you saying I'm part of the biggest bailout
in NBA history.
Draymond, you were the luckiest basketball player I think I've ever seen, especially in modern
day history.
Let's talk about that.
You were drafted to a franchise with the Hall of Fame front office, Bob Myers, Hall of Fame
Coach Steve Curry.
the greatest shooter of all time
and perhaps the top five player
of all time, Steph Curry, Hall of Famer.
One of the greatest shooters,
top five shooter of all time.
Another Hall of Famer, Clay Thompson.
The Swiss Army knife himself,
the guy who could do a little bit
of everything on the floor,
Andre Goddala.
Another Hall of Famer, I know,
keep up, it's a lot of talent.
Not to mention one of the most lethal scores
of all time and arguably a top ten player
of all time, Kevin Durant,
the same guy you chased off
because of this, your mouth,
you talk too much.
And that's not even counting
the plethora of talent around those guys.
The Sean Levinson's, the Barboses, the Andrew Wiggins, the Jordan Pools, who you also chased off.
Cut it out.
Draymond, you're the backpack jump shooter.
You're the guy that everyone leaves open.
No one guards you.
There are hours and hours and hours of film of just you being left wide open.
In fact, anybody can just YouTube or Google or watch any Draymond game ever, and he's open all game.
There are clips of you getting a rebound and just driving in a straight line and just getting a wide open layup because everyone's fanning out to guard the actual talent on the team.
Talk about Steve Kerr headed your career.
Bro, Steve Kerr made your career.
How dare you?
Coming at me?
Are you kidding me?
I wish I could give my son $200 million if I was a coach.
Yeah, the NBA doesn't give coaches coaching jobs
of guys who may or may not sucker punch one of the players and staff.
You need a fallback, Dre.
Let's just be frenemies.
You said frenemies?
He put it in perspective.
There was a lot of perspective to that.
I mean, I didn't, I forgot all those players that was on that team.
Yeah.
Man, Barbosa.
was on that team.
Killer?
Sean Levers thing was on that team.
I saw Sean Livers thing
in the bank in Vegas, man.
Shout out the Sean Livers thing, man.
Yeah, I like Sean Livers thing, man.
Yeah, that was a lot of talent.
Killer, that was like nine great niggas
on his team.
Yeah, it was, man.
Definitely a lot of talent, bro.
Whole lot.
I forgot about Bartow's two.
You know, Andre Enquadalek, Kevin Durant.
And I ain't going to front, I'm not going to hold you.
I ain't going to hold you.
I didn't know Draymond in high school like that.
I'm not going to even say a lie.
But I definitely knew Austin Rivers in high school.
And that nigger was all everything.
Pause.
Yeah, something zero.
Yeah, I was like, yo, that nigger out here going crazy.
He was in dunk contests, all type of shit.
Then like he did say, he only stayed for one year because I remember niggins going crazy.
Like, yo, Doc Rivers' son is crazy, bro.
His son is wild.
Then when I seen him play, I'm like, oh, he liked that.
He is like that.
But, you know, it just didn't translate to that.
Yeah, he had a solid career, but the shit that he was doing in high school.
And, you know, the one year that he did stay in college, it was amazing.
That was a lot.
And the back and forth is only going to continue because I don't even know how you,
I know he said friend amies, but we don't even got to be friends at all.
Not even the half of it when you say something like that.
So we'll see how that goes then.
Well, you know, it's like this.
Sometimes, you know, I've seen some shit
I think Draymaw said
I think you've been hanging out with Big Row too much
which, because you know, some type of way
I forget how I go, stat,
you may know how Austin Rivers is married
to Steph Curry's sister
or they all, they're way they intertwined
They married in with each other some type of way.
Austin Rivers' brother-in-law with Steph Curry or some type of shit.
You know what I'm saying?
I know they...
Who is another brother.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or, yeah, Seth Curry's married to Doc Rivers' daughter.
Some type of way, they all like skin and related.
No what I'm saying?
So.
Because she used to date, she used to date, um, Kari Irvin.
Okay.
Yeah.
Whatever it is.
Yeah, I think Draymond said, yeah, you're hanging out with your big bro too much.
Now you're losing.
Some shit like that.
I know it's a marriage.
Yeah.
So his older sister, Callie, Austin Rivers' older sister, Callie, is married to Steph Curry's brother, Seth.
Yeah.
There we go.
Yeah.
I know there's a lot of light skin shit.
What's going on?
Splend her.
That's a good little family right there, man.
That's a good Christmas.
That is. That is a real good.
That's a white Christmas, man.
For real.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You all are crazy, man.
Y'all are so crazy.
White Christmas.
Right. Christmas right there, man.
Yeah.
Well, this won't be the last.
Yeah.
Not gifts.
Okay.
This won't be the last
Austin Rivers Draymond Beef.
Well, here I know it's just going to continue on from here.
We will see it as it unfolds.
But we're going to go to a break.
When we return, we will discuss who stepped it up in the playoffs.
Don't go anywhere.
But she didn't really think about
She wanted to be
Welcome back to y'all
So somebody was walking by
And decided to stop by
This is like our 28th Gepter
Just walks by
Yes
And he's here
Who he just walked by?
Who's here?
Dwight Howard.
How's willing?
I am great, man
We just got finished
with the Big Three draft
And we got some good pieces
So we're looking forward to this year.
What's what you're going on?
Are you coaching?
Are you playing in the Big Three?
I'm playing.
You play.
How's the big three pay?
Everybody get the same.
But is it decent pay?
It's decent for one game.
Yeah.
One game a week.
I went last year to the tryouts and all that.
Was Gilly there today?
He was.
He was on the show yesterday.
Did he make it?
No.
This is the second year getting cut.
I don't know if you really want to play.
I don't know if he wanted to play.
He's just like coming out and doing everything.
You know it's good content for him too.
but I'm gonna be honest with you.
For 49 years old, Gilly is not bad.
He's nice.
He good.
He outshot some of my teammates today.
Yeah, Gilly's good, man, for 49 years old, Mace.
I ain't going to lie.
49.
No, no, no, because we got to age.
He can't guard nobody, though.
He can't guard nobody.
I was just thinking about that.
But the thing about this, Mace, that's what he's talking about.
It's the way Howard and these niggas playing.
My niggins ain't like it's some random niggas playing.
It ain't like it's some niggas on the street.
That's what I was thinking.
It's ex-NBA players.
It's motherfucking nicks from overseas.
There's college niggas who didn't make it.
It's some real niggins.
Lance Stevenson, Michael Beasley.
It's not going to be easy for giving me to smoke 12 months
and go try out for the big three.
That shit ain't no bullshit, man.
It's real niggins playing, man.
You think you can make it?
Hell no.
You ain't playing no basketball, man.
Come on, Mace.
Let me ask you something.
Killer, killer.
Killer, if I get in the gym, I don't know.
I'm better than Gilly, though.
I'm better than Gilly.
No, you're not.
No, you're not.
No, you're not.
No, you're not.
No.
Makes you not.
You're not bad.
No.
Mendo, you know that.
Mace.
When you were in high school,
you might have been, you probably,
we was bad than Gilly.
Today, we, I'm taking myself crazy.
I'm not bad than Gilly.
We're not in shape for that shit.
Gilly's still in decent shape for 40,000 years old.
You're running up and down the full court,
my, nigga.
That shit take a lot, my nigger.
Let me ask you something.
You're right, you're right, Killen.
If I'm in shape, Gilly doesn't get a basket.
He doesn't get a basket.
You know that.
You're a blanket.
You're not going to get in shape, though, murder that type of shape.
Blanket.
Listen, listen, killer.
Blanket.
You don't even see him no more.
You don't even see him no more.
It's not going to happen.
Where did he go?
It's not going to happen.
It's not going to happen.
Let me ask you this, Dwight.
Now, Dwight, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, he plays
in the Pachial League.
You should come in the Pachial League with us.
That would be dope.
In the Philippines.
No, we play at the Tarkanias over here.
You're talking about 40 in Oval League.
Oh, you be hooping?
Yeah, I got a job.
They call me...
They call me...
They call me stuff curry.
They call me Stuff Curry.
Yeah, they call me Stuff Curry.
Yeah, I'm stuffed Curry.
He's a fucking over league.
Like, the biggest who got jobs and shit.
So he really really.
Who?
Yeah, I used to play college.
You're Renny Hooper?
Not right now?
I don't play as much anymore.
But we won the championship, there's what it is.
Team won the championship, like three.
That's tough.
Yeah, three, what was it, three seasons to the Rome, Killer?
I don't think you understand what kind of league this is.
This is like, this is like,
No, what I'm saying, Dwight, this thing is,
is 56 years old playing in the league.
Like, it's old, shout out the most freezing.
There was no young niggas.
It's old niggas who got a job and just come play off the work.
They're like three foot, though.
That's nice.
That's nice, though.
Yeah.
What, though.
They still got a lot of dreams.
I respect it because it's such.
Look, man, let's, we losing track of what's going on here.
Yo, do you think, I used to fight for you or argue for you, right?
And I always used to say, why aren't they, I believe your career got cut short.
Why do you think the last couple years before you even went to China that nobody was picking up?
It was even like the time the Lakers didn't have a son
and I'm like, where the fucking,
go get the white fucking Howard.
Is nobody there?
Why do you think the last couple years,
I think, you know,
it's been a couple years removed now
but for like the last two, three years
before you went to training,
you still could have played
and no team actually got you.
What do you think that was about?
I just think teams are probably like,
he don't want to play the role
that we're going to give to him.
Right.
And his role is probably going to be vetted,
be on the end of the bench.
Right.
You want you to help building,
young guys up and stuff like that.
But I probably wasn't going to get no playing time
and they probably felt this ain't the right fit.
No, it was teams.
You should have got some motherfucking playing time
because it's teams that didn't have a center
or their center was trash.
Looking back on it, man.
Man, it was...
I wanted to play.
But it's like playing for 20 years.
It's so long, man.
So it's like, man, I wanted that time with my kids
my family. And after I had to play it enough, it's like, what am I going to do now?
Right. You know, so I just really wanted to go home, be with the kids.
Right.
And transition out of basketball. But I missed the game, so I wanted to play. That's why I went to
Taiwan. I never went to China. Everybody thought I went to China.
Pardon me. No disrespect to Taiwan, because tomorrow we'll have a bunch of people on here
from Taiwan talking about don't fuck us, don't confuse us with China. But Taiwan, what was that
experience like going over there?
Because I see they loved you. You got there.
The reception was great.
And then even to the point where you was trying to recruit other players like
Marmelo and other players that they was kind of treating not fairly who were superstars
and still could play in the league.
What was that experience like when you was over there?
I'm glad I went because it kind of gave me a new, it kind of gave me wings.
You know, I felt like a new player, new person I can go and just hoop.
You know, for the long as I've been in the,
the league is like I've been in the box.
You know, you can only do this.
We only want you to play like this.
So going to Taiwan, it was like, man, just go hoop, man.
However you want to hoop, just have fun.
And I had the most fun.
We had sold out games every night.
And it was a good experience.
And after that, I wanted more players to come.
Actually, more players start coming.
And if you look now, it's a lot of guys from the NBA that's playing overseas,
not in Taiwan, but in Europe, in the Euro League.
and they dominate.
So, you know, I think it's guys have missed out on a great opportunity
if they don't want to travel across that water
and play basketball because people might make it seem like it's terrible
if you don't make it to the NBA, you're playing overseas.
But, man, the love and the reception that you get from the fans overseas
is top of the top.
It's the best.
And it just gives you more hope, you know,
knowing that you got fans all over the world
who love the game of basketball and love you just for playing it.
Cannes?
Can I?
Yeah, just really quick, because when you're talking about, like, feeling like a new player,
a new person, being around different people, and like, the league kind of has you guys in
a box, which I feel like a lot of other players feel the same way.
When do you feel the most fulfilled?
Really, when I'm with my kids.
And off the court now, because it's like I didn't do so much with basketball.
I've been playing for so long just to see them do something and be successful in it is more fulfilling
than me doing anything else.
Because it's like, man, I didn't have my fun.
I didn't did my basketball and all that stuff.
So the most fulfilling is just seeing them succeed.
So if I remember correctly, you got drafted in 2005, right?
Four?
Four, okay, right after LeBron.
When you look at the league today, do you think it's way softer
than when you first got in the league?
No, I just think people want to see more up and down.
Right.
I think back then it was a physical game,
so people wanted to see more to the fighting.
It was more big man and stuff like that.
But now people want to see everybody get up and down.
They want to see the threes getting shot.
I don't think people even care about dunks like they used to.
I know when I was coming up, everybody,
as soon as somebody dunked, the crowd went crazy.
Now people want to see more threes.
You go to the games.
It's not a lot of dunks.
Right.
You know, so.
I think that people do want to see it,
but it's just the way, you know,
We older than you, so we used to play ball too.
Like, when you're on a fast break, nobody even cuts to the basket.
Everybody's going to the corner.
Going to the three.
Yeah, to the corner three.
And three points is always going to be more than two points.
But you look at a team like Boston who just shot themselves in a leg.
We're trying to overdo it with threes.
Do you think that it's too much threes being shot and it's not enough going back to the basket?
Do you think that's just the way it is?
It's just the way the game is.
Like, blame Steph Curry.
Yeah.
He's the greatest shooter.
or ever.
And all kids want to shoot like Steph.
Everybody want to throw it up, put a little sign up, do something based off how Steph
that made the game.
And so the game is at a place now where we have all these rising stars who have a different
type of game than how we grew up watching.
But I think it's great for the league.
You got all these international guys that's coming over and dominating the Janus's,
the Joker's, NBs.
I just think the game is in great hands.
I got a quick question
if you're in mind.
Okay, I'm sorry, Mace.
Go ahead.
Yeah, I wanted to ask you
Dwight, what was your relationship?
What happened between you and Kobe?
Was he really
supposed to turn the team over to you?
I think people kind of took that
and twisted the whole situation
because I'm coming to a team
where I know this is Kobe's team.
I'm not trying to steal it
take it from Kobe.
I want to learn everything from him because I know that at one point his career is going
to end.
If I'm going to be here, I need to be ready just in case I'm going to be the next person in
line to take over the team.
It was never me coming in and saying, hey, man, this is my team.
I'm the young gun.
Let's do this.
I came to play with Kobe Bryant, one of the best players in the history of basketball.
And we didn't work out in one year.
And everybody put, I felt they put the blame on me.
and I don't think that that was right.
Yeah, and when that happened, you were supposed to,
wasn't Chris Paul supposed to play with y'all?
What happened with that?
Shoot, I don't know.
I wish Chris Paul would have played with us.
That would have been a great point guard.
But we had Steve Nash.
We had a solid squad.
I just think we, that wasn't our year.
And I felt like if me and Kobe would have kind of probably stayed
and played more years,
years together, we probably would have got more comfortable, but that didn't work out.
So mine's a hypothetical question. If you're not a child of the NBA, would you ever consider
coaching? And if you ever coached the Warriors, would you have a drop of play for Draymond Green?
I would coach. I actually love coaching. I think that I play basketball for so long that
coaching is something that is natural for me. And I would most definitely draw,
what plays for Draymond Green on defense.
So do you know what's going on with Austin Rivers and Draymond Green right now?
I'm watching it.
Austin is cooking his ass.
Oh, my God.
We just finished talking about that before you walked in.
I want the, it's funny acts that.
So what's your opinion on there?
First of all, I think,
It's Draymond doing too much.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, Austin was fire.
A lot of people are going to say he got to the league off his dad.
But look at his, look at what he did.
He went to Duke.
First of all, in high school, he got one of the greatest mixtapes ever for high school.
Then he goes to Duke, kills it, goes to the league, plays, what, 10, 11 years?
11 years.
11 years when you, the average NBA career is three years.
So for this man to play 11 years, he had to do something pretty good.
in order for him to stay that long.
So the disrespect, I think, coming from players should never be tolerated
because it's only 5,000 of us.
Only 5,000 made it.
It should be no disrespect between us.
We are a fraternity.
So I don't think you should be talking about them like that.
But to each is all.
Yeah, I thought Austin was.
Mace, it's funny because me, before you came,
I was telling now how Dremont,
out of all the great players that played for Golden State,
Draymond is the leading person with triple doubles ever.
For real?
Yeah.
See, that's like me.
He's got the most triple doubles?
That's what, see, that's what.
I'm thinking Monti Ellis, something in Mitch Richmond.
Yeah.
So many great guards came through Golden State.
Draymond got the most triple doubles.
Golden State history.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
He does.
Okay.
Then we'll.
Like significantly, too.
So you really can't.
You got.
No, so what we were saying is that, first of all, the assistance is going to be there because you got Clay Thompson.
And Steph.
Me and Mason's going back.
I said, you got to fight for the rebounds.
The rebounds most time, if they're going to miss, they're going to be long, cause.
So that's first.
And then 10 points, man, that's all you need.
But, yeah, I think they're back and forth.
And Austin Rivers makes some great points.
And Draymore makes some great points as well.
But Austin is...
He's cooking them.
Yeah, he's out right.
He's up right now.
But J. Maher's not going to let it slide.
I know him.
You're going to come back with Sunday.
I don't know what he's going to come back with.
But I think it's going to go on for a minute.
Have you been watching the playoffs?
I have.
Because, you know, some players, like, we have, you know what's crazy?
We have J.L. Smith up here, right?
Mm-hmm.
He, um, he's like he don't really watch ball or more like that.
He's like that.
He is, now on that point, he is correct.
I have not watched a lot of basketball this season.
Now, the playoffs have been more exciting than average.
So I have been watching like the Philly series against the Knicks.
But they just played Boston.
That series was good.
And I liked this Philly series right here.
So I've been watching this.
But that was the shit.
You know, when we had him up here, he was like,
he don't really watch so much.
But then we saw him talking about the playoffs,
he knew everything that was fucking going on and shit.
He's like, and you watch it?
Or you're not watching it?
watching, man. So we're about to get into the Laker game,
and the Lakers just won.
Yeah. Lakers won? Yeah.
No, pardon me. No, they lost. They lost.
Pardon me, the Lakers lost.
My bad, um, audience, I can stand correct.
So Lakers lost this under 125, 2107. We saw how it went down.
Yes. Dwight, so how do you feel about the Lakers right now?
Man, Lakers, man. Give me a color trait, man.
I can't be doing what the A.G ain't doing.
You're not wrong
10 day, man
I couldn't win out now, man
Yeah, exactly
No, man
Okay, C
tough, bro
And LeBron
Don't have Luca
So that's 30 points
Right there
You know, I think
If Luca was playing
It would have been
A totally different series
But because Luke
ain't playing
It's gonna be tough, man
Go on and give me
Hey, JJ Reddick
I know you watch the show
man
Yeah
15-day country
You only got 15 days left in the season.
Just give me 15 days, man.
Y'all ain't got to pay me that much, man.
Just sign me next year.
Let me in the game.
Mace.
What do you think?
Yeah, man.
I think the Lakers, I like the escort and LeBron them out.
I like this for the league.
I like the new hotness and scoring the old guards out.
You know, this is how I'm supposed to go.
You know, I know y'all don't like this.
Killer don't like this.
Clutch sports don't like this, but this is how it goes, man.
This is how it's supposed to go.
Ace, what are you talking about?
Look, the Lakers is your team.
Yo, yo, bro.
Yo, you wild, my nigga.
You're a wild nigger, my nigger.
Was the Lakers his team or was it Houston?
It was both, actually.
Like, yo, bro, now niggas don't like it.
You shouldn't like it.
Now you got a Knicks hat on.
Listen, you're a wild nigger, man.
But I will say it's this that Austin Reed.
Everybody's in the portal up here.
Everybody in the portal.
Yeah, kill the only one ain't in the portal.
What I will say is this thing.
You're definitely in the portal, Stap.
I show my papers at the beginning of the season,
and I claim both of my teams.
Who are your team?
My team.
The Warriors and the Heat.
A team is the Heat.
It really is a Heat.
Since Jimmy Butler,
left. She wants to talk
about a new team. Like it's not teams no
more. People just mainly get an excuse to get a new
new team. All right. Anyway, what I'll
say is this. At least Austin Rees popped
up last night. He finished
with, what is it? He had 31 points,
38 minutes, 7 for 16 from the field.
LeBron did where he could do shot 50% from the field,
23 points.
Your man did good last night. He did
decent. Hachimora.
I said it right today.
Hachimor.
Yeah, I said it right today.
Yeah, Hachimora.
He had 16 points.
They got to get Hachimara out of there, killer.
They got to get him out of it.
It was a really good game until the end of the game.
It was close and then like in about six minutes left in the fourth quarter.
The SGA and the crew just hit another gear that the Lakers couldn't keep up with.
And it's just going to be hard for the Lakers to win this series.
Because, you know, why, Shea's not even doing that much.
And he had 22 points.
Last game he had 19 points, they won by 18 points.
And he's not even getting the 25, 30 points there were used to seeing them getting,
and they're winning by a significant amount.
They won this game by 18 points, when last game by 18 points.
You're not even getting the best from SGA.
J. Dobs not playing.
Yeah.
As much as I fuck with- With you.
Mitchell is going crazy, though.
The new young guard is going crazy.
Mitchell.
You had a chance to say your take.
You do this to me often.
Every time I'm doing my take, you just say,
started jumping.
I just said, I did it last thing.
I said, Tobias Harris, seven straight point.
Yeah, seven straight, 20-point games, yeah.
Yo, y'all see what happened to Tobias today?
What happened?
You didn't see what Donovan did to him?
Oh, you're talking about on defense?
Yeah.
Yeah, but you got to realize this and what we were talking about is that.
Let me finish with him.
Yeah, every time I give you a turn.
Yeah, was that line stepping?
Yeah, but he's new to the show.
He's new to the show.
He doesn't know that we do line stepping.
You've been, every time I do it, take you step right in.
Yeah, you went first.
Yeah, Tobias Iris, I let it slide.
Now I'm sitting here saying the stats again.
You had your take.
You want to escort LeBron out.
Now I'm doing my tape.
It's a debate show, Cam.
It's a debate show.
The way it goes is you do.
I take that we debate.
I don't know.
I can't get habitual.
It's a bit.
Go ahead. The floor is yours.
The floor is yours.
Thank you, brother.
But what we were saying is that we couldn't see this Tobias Harris on the 76s.
He didn't have back-to-back-point games in the regular season.
Now he has seven straight, 20-back-back game.
Since the playoffs start, seven straight 20-point games.
And he's becoming a real reliable second option.
Yeah, because it hasn't been a time where you'd be like seeing Tobias Houskoffield for the ball like,
yo, I got this, nigger.
That's what we was just talking about.
He's looking real confident against Cleveland.
Go ahead, Mace.
Go ahead.
What you got?
Go ahead.
I don't have none of the same.
You do my energy off.
Yeah, that's crazy, man.
Do you have any predictions of anybody that's coming out of the East and the West
and who you see in the finals?
Man.
I think New York might go to the finals again this year, man.
Again, for good since when?
Since Patrick Young.
Yeah.
I said, you ain't lying.
That's the last hole.
Was you nine in 94?
Yeah.
Yeah.
He said again.
I was like, again.
They won in 2000, no right when Allen Houston and them niggas?
Yeah, it was a lockout year.
I think this might be their chance this year.
But it might have a shot.
No, they should come out of these, but did you think they're going to win against San Antonio or O KC?
No.
Yeah, man.
I really think if they match up against San Antonio, they might have a chance.
That's what I would say.
They have success against San Antonio this year.
They beat San Antonio in the Cup and then they also beat them Christmas Day.
They have good success against San Antonio this year, but I don't think it's the San Antonio Spurs
that they faced earlier Castle.
He then got his confidence up.
We already knew what Wembe's going to do, Vassell, Harper coming off the bench six-mey
that they're here with Johnson.
Yeah.
De Aaron Fox, you know, he finally won a playoff.
So it's going to be real hard.
But what's your name, bro?
Mood?
Mood does just not.
I don't know if y'all can see Mood just looking like.
I don't know what the fuck they talk about there.
It's not happening.
No matter what it.
Hey, OKC, man.
They're going to be tough to beat, man, for the next three, four years.
But New York, this day one shot.
This day one shot this year.
They got to get, if they can get miss.
New York.
If Mitchell can't hit it,
I can make two free throws, man.
Let me stop.
My man, I'm going to be happy.
But agree, we picked,
the thing about this,
we got some crazy,
we're from New York,
so we don't really root for New York
because we've been disappointed for 50 years.
I haven't been born to see the next one in the championship.
My mother was in 10th grade
the last time the next won the championship.
So I'm not dealing with heartbreak.
My team is the Spurs.
And I'm not a new Spurs fan.
I'm talking about Sean Elliott, Avery Johnson, all that shit.
So I'm up right now on the show.
Back when it was my team.
What?
You like the Spurs, too?
You don't know.
He's trolling me right now.
Back when it was his team.
But on a serious note, we did say the Knicks should come out to East,
but, you know, they hit a couple.
When we started the season, we predicted that.
But, you know, it's the Knicks.
after they beat Boston last year,
we was like, oh,
Nick's going into the championship.
They let Tyrese Halliburton pack them niggas up.
So until they went four games
in the Eastern Conference final,
they go to the championship.
We picked them to the world.
Yeah, we can't believe it.
Think about this now.
If they face Detroit,
Detroit beat them by 25 points,
the average of 25 points this year.
The whole season?
3.
0-3 against Detroit.
But the playoffs, they may want revenge.
Like, y'all was jacking that shit
the regular season be, all right, cool.
You're going to make adjustments, et cetera.
I think you're correct, though.
This is the one chance.
But think about it.
Killer, think about it.
They up two games and now OG hurt.
This will be exactly what always happens to the next, Dwight.
O.G. got hurt?
Every time they get there, something else happens.
No, come on, OG.
Yeah, man.
Well, we'll see what happens, man.
But, Dwight, thank you.
I mean, I know it was fucking random, man.
No, this is perfect, man.
Yeah, but you always, you got my number fours.
You always welcome to the show.
Anytime you want to come up
and we wish you the best and everything you're doing,
me. Appreciate it, man.
Solid A1 from day one.
Yes, sir.
Any else you got to say, man?
Is that really you sent me a message?
Yeah, yeah.
On Instagram, I ain't know if that was you.
Okay.
All right.
I was going to ask you on the show
because I know it's important
that with everything else
that people try to say that we leave this on like a good note.
So if you even want to share, where do you say that your faith is right now?
My faith in God?
Oh, it's there.
I always been there.
He's never going to leave.
I'm never going to leave him.
So my faith is what has kept me.
I'm just saying.
I just said that so we can end it on a good high note, you know,
and have people have some good.
stuff to talk about, you know?
You still in Atlanta?
Yeah.
You know, Mesa's, the church in the Atlanta?
Yeah, make sure you go check it out, man.
Okay.
Yeah, he's still down there.
Yes.
And then lastly, where can people follow you and check out what else you got going on?
Because I know you do streaming and stuff too, right?
I got to get back to it, man.
I had a set up, I mean a setback with me and my relationship.
So.
You'll get back to it.
You'll get back to it.
I'm going to get paid too.
That's why I asked you that, Dwight.
That's why I asked you that to throw some good light out there.
I appreciate that, man.
Thank you.
But now I'm going to get back to streaming, man.
A lot of people have been asking me about it.
You can follow me on Instagram, Dwight Howard, my podcast, DH12 above the rim.
And, yeah, catch me.
I got to get to your church, man.
I did not know that was really you, May.
So that's my bad on the message.
messages, dog.
All right, no doubt.
Okay.
Dwight, thanks for joining us and walking by and knowing that we're not mannequins.
We are really here.
Yes, I'm so sorry about that, yeah.
I apologize.
No, you ain't know, you ain't, but thank you for taking the time on and coming to sit with us,
bro.
Yeah, this is a good conversation for all of us too.
So we're also here now, so, yes.
I appreciate you.
Yeah, of course.
Nice to meet you as well.
Yeah, Bob out.
Okay.
Thank you.
That is all the time that we have for today.
Thank y'all for watching.
And as always, it is what it is.
Hey
