Yeah, that's that woman.
You know, the woman.
Non-accountability, you know, that's the message. I probably forgot. Yeah, that's that woman. You know, the woman
knowing accountability, you know, when she's ready, she'll work on it. You get what I'm saying?
Mo, but let me ask you something Mo. What is up with the hat? What is you doing now?

For sure. I'm shocked.

I'm sure. I think you must froze.
I think I'm taking accountability.
Yeah, I do that.
Black woman too, no, a black woman
is taking accountability.
That's not a rare thing that happens.
I'm screaming frozen.
Yeah, I can't.
Hey, you know how many people

You know how many people sent me that video? Hold up.

Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness, that is sad.
You look close to me.
I'm not sure.
That was crazy.
That's going to be my new one. Go Frozen.
It works. It looks real. Yeah. Okay. So we
gotta get into this game because the Nuggets forced a game at
seven after beating okay see 119 to 107. The next game will
be this Sunday in okay see so Maurice what were your thoughts
on the game then how do you think this will end this is the
final moment who do you think? Yeah, well, first, I just love playoff basketball, championship
basketball.
And when basketball is being played for a trophy, a championship
or something, right, just because I enjoy the effort from both
teams. But as I watched this game and I was talking about it
to Nick prior to this game, there was a time like in mid second quarter, the game starts off fast.
And both teams look like, hey, you know, we're trying to compete one to push it to a game seven, the other team in the first quarter initially to say, hey, man, we're trying to put you guys in the trunk, be done with you and move on.
But in the second quarter from both teams, it felt like the game just kind of like fell apart.
I don't know if anybody else felt that same way, but between turnovers and miss layups and miss bunnies
and filing and the game just felt like very clunky when I felt like OKC had the advantage to sort of like,
KC had the advantage to sort of like, Hey, we're about to jump on you guys pause and basically stretch to lead and like they had it.
And when I start looking at it, I'll send myself, I'm like, are these guys struggling
to put these guys away because they don't have older guys or veteran leadership?
Right.
And I thought to myself, you know, Denver has been in this position before going on
championship runs, being deep in the playoffs and having the, um, the experience or the wherewithal to basically understand that the circumstance then put the team away.
And OKC for whatever reason, just couldn't do it.
You seen Shay coming down with a lot of one on five.
He had gotten to foul trouble, but it was just like the entire team couldn't do whatever it was to put them away.
just like the entire team couldn't do whatever it was to put them away.
And then it felt like they got to halftime,
and then once they got past halftime,
Denver made whatever adjustments that they needed to make,
and from there, they just start basically
playing championship ball.
And to me, I was thinking to myself, I said,
man, you've just woken up a sleeping giant with Denver.
They've been in this position before. You're a young team.
I don't know if it's like the mental capacity
because I've never played basketball at this level
and been deep in the playoffs,
but I'm pretty sure there's so many commentators out there
who will give their opinion.
But I just thought to myself that this was their window.
And what my prediction is,
I don't think even in OKC on the road,
I don't think that they'll have enough to put it away.
I think Denver is going to say, hey, we're this close. We've been here before.
We have the experience. We have the wherewithal. And we realize that Shea himself can't beat us.
So even if it is up to him, even when we're playing bad, Shea can't do enough to beat us
our five that we have on the floor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mo, that was a good take.
Yeah, you've been doing well.
I've been looking at your notes.
You've been turning your papers in on time in Title Town
and you're doing really well, Mo.
You're doing really well.
Yo, when it came to this game, just think about it.
Every time that Murray goes crazy
They're gonna win. This is is balling down to Murray if which Murray shows up
You know, like you said the Murray's grease the Murray's grease Murray's can straighten out anything pause, you know
Jamal Murray when he shows up balling it's just hard
to beat them you know Jokic is gonna be Jokic. I think he may be the
most dominant big man I've ever seen in basketball I'm ready to go on the line
and just say it like the way he imposes his will on the game is crazy.
To think of every night he goes out is a triple double.
He's like a pinch away from it.
Pause.
It's like he got, he may have 27, then have 13 rebounds,
and have eight assists.
Or, you know, just every game he's right there almost like
he's better than everybody on the floor
yes Shay Gil Chris I said Gil Alexander say it say it for me stack
because I'm talking Gilgis Alexander be SG a Gil Chris Alexander you know I'm
tired of being urban on this you know everybody Everybody else says SGA. They're lazy. Say it again.
Sha-Gil-Gis.
Gil-Gis.
Gil-Gis.
Gil-Gis.
Gil-Gis Alexander.
Yeah, you know, with me, with me having a 1100 to 1200, you know, SAT scores, I should
just say his name, you know? Sha-Gil-christ Alexander. He's playing phenomenal but like
Mo said it's not enough especially when Michael Porter gets double digits this team is almost
invincible if Murray and Michael Porter Jr shows up. Everything else it seemed like they had
balance score. Braun had about 23. So everybody was playing their game today.
And I want to agree with Mo.
I hate to agree with him.
But Mo is, you know, at Title Town,
the expert got to be right first.
It's OK if he come in and co-sign the expert.
The experts can't be confirming the students, you know?
But today, I'm going to go with this, you know?
And it's that you gotta show up
for Titletown Summer School,
because the way you be giving your journalism,
it doesn't go with how the winners think, you know?
And I wanna help you with that.
I think we could do something about it,
because your vantage points come from a struggle. It doesn't come from a winner's
mentality. And I would love to help you with it. For all of you watching out there this
year, I might have my mentorship put out there to teach you guys the winner's ways. I like
that. You like that Nick? The winner's ways know I might have to open up my summer school to more people but to make a long story short
I I see Denver winning. It's the blue that I've always been repping. I
Told you I got two teams. I had Golden State and I got Denver. You know, I'm saying I'm not switching up stack. I
Don't know where it can't get this from he shows up with the Celtic green on and I'm talking switching up, Stat. I don't know where it came from. He shows up with the Celtic green on,
and I'm talking behind his back, you know?
It's a classic Harlem thing, you know?
Talk behind a nigga back when he ain't there.
That was a lot of process.
I don't really...
I don't know. I don't know.
Um, yeah.
What do you think, Steph?
Who do you think got this Game 7 coming up?
Who do you think?
Who do I think is going to win?
It's like, this is hard because it's like, again, OKC is a great story.
But Denver is like that.
It's really like we always say new hotness versus like the OGs.
And I think in this game's particular, that's really that's how I'm seeing the matchup.
It's like, oh, geez.
I don't know.
We've been seeing the transition.
We've been seeing the slow passing of the torch amongst other teams.
So it's like, are we ready to kind of move on
to that next level?
I'm not sure yet, but I will say on the Nuggets side,
they had a lot more momentum, not just from Jokic
and Mace, you mentioned it, and Maurice as well.
Obviously Jamal Murray played really well.
Christian Brown did well in addition to him.
But also I think Julian Strother,
he usually doesn't get that many minutes.
They made sure that this was kind of leveled
between not just the starters, but the bench as well.
He had 15 points and was making threes when it counted.
And I think that this, seeing this happen now
could translate into game seven.
And if I think they're pumped and their aunt and I know
it's an OKC,
that's just such a great story for Denver.
So it's not going to be an easy game.
I do think it's going to be a close game,
but I'm going to put my prediction out there and I'm going to say,
OKC wins this one and I'm going to go with it being an OKC.
New hardness.
Now too.
New hardness.
For sure.
That's a good point. But being an OKC, I think with all the energy and they've even had their crowd all in unison
with the colors and I just think as she this is really his moment to prove like yes, I
am the MVP not yokich. This is that moment you need to win when it counts. And this is
one of those celebratory moments where I think that as she can kind of go with that narrative.
So I'm going to go with OKC.
So it's going to be a tough one.
You're not going with OKC.
You're going with new hotness.
We'll say that.
Basically, she wants SGA to do to OKC.
She wants SGA to do to Denver what Ant-Man is doing to LeBron and to Steph. That's what you're saying.
Yes.
It's timing.
Yeah.
Why don't you just say it at Stats.
It's like, are we really ready to admit that?
But I think it's time.
I do think it's time.
That's what you really want to say, Stats.
Yeah.
Say it with your chest.
That, say it with your chest is what we normally say.
Say it with your chest.
I'm saying it with my chest.
I think, okay, so he's going to take this game, but at the end of the day, we never know. We'll see it is gonna be a close one though for sure. That's my prediction
So y'all know underdog got some picks for y'all
So, of course this Sunday the nuggets will play okay
See underdog has yokich at 50 and a half points rebounds and assists. Do you have them higher or lower mace?
This fall the dogs, man. This for all the dogs, man. Go higher!
Oh wow. Shout out OKC. Let's go, Joker. Don't let me down. Pause for real.
This for all the dogs, man.
I don't not about it.
It's for all the dogs, the cane corso's, man.
Too many pit bulls out there, man.
Acting like they big dogs.
Here we go.
Maurice.
Oh, no doubt.
This is for all the,
one, he consistently performs when Paws performs
when the title's on the, title's on the when the titles on the title on the town
I'm definitely believe believe that he'll have a an all-star performance and go
Yeah, DMX voice
Okay
Jamal Murray is at 20 and a half points. Do you have him higher lower Maurice?
Jamal Murray is at 20 and a half points. Do you have him higher or lower, Maurice?
I'm gonna go higher.
I'm going with all momentum.
I'm going with the veteran group.
I'm going with the guys who know what time it is
and I'm going with Denver, so I'm gonna say more.
Yeah, I'm going more.
Code cam, man, code cam.
Let code cam be right.
Follow my lead, man.
Okay, and may say guilt is Alexander is at seven and a half
assist you have higher or lower is Gil kiss or just just like
just just leave me alone just
just Jizz, Jizz, leave me alone, Jizz. Jizz.
G, it's two G's.
Gilgis.
Jizz.
Like a J, a Jizz?
No, different things.
Gilgis.
Gilgis, Gilgis.
Is that right, Gilgis?
Gilgis Alexander.
Yeah, that's definitely it.
Yeah, his name is Ritzy that's probably why he's so fashionable
you know it's probably why he's so fashionable he's Gilchis you know it sounds like you go like this give it to Salisenda. Alexander.
How many points that?
Seven and a half assists, higher or lower.
Seven and a half assists.
I don't see him with assists.
I see him scoring points.
I'm not sure about the assists. I'm going to go lower, pause on the assists. I see him trying points. I'm not sure about the assists.
I'm going to go lower pause on the assists.
I see him trying to win the game.
We might try to go for 40.
No, the only way they don't come with seven assists.
I go higher and my reason for saying that is that all of his points came from
driving right and when they go back to the to the film room, the coach has to My reason for saying that is that all of his points came from driving. Right.
And when they go back to the, um, to the film room, the coach has to say, Hey, man, somebody has to be more productive.
And I just believe that it will all come from like just him basically getting
inside the paint, you know, pause and distributing the ball and then some back
door cuts and things of that nature.
So I'm going to go higher with the hopes that their coach influences him to get
the ball out of his hands and get more production out of somebody else.
That's a good point. More. I ain't mad at that.
Stat what you think stat. The ladies want to know what you think. Go ahead.
Since you've been accountable, you're part of the team today. Go ahead.
Always part of the team today. Go ahead. Always part of the team. Yeah, I'm actually just gonna go
lower. I think he's gonna have more points and rebounds
overall seven, eight assists is kind of high. But who knows? I
think this is the game where he shows out. So I'm gonna go
lower. Okay. Make sure y'all download the underdog app and
you can make your picks too.
So Tank versus Roach looks like they will be running it back
on August 16th in Las Vegas.
Of course, this is after their controversial draw.
So if you guys are watching,
you guys know that we had Roach as a guest earlier
in the year, but May is gonna let you go first.
How do you see this match going and what are you most looking forward to?
First of all, Tank, pull up to the show, Tank.
You've been to every other sports show, Tank.
We don't have anything against you.
We definitely want to see a good fight. And let me say this,
you know, I know there may be some things that are off screen that people try to put
us against each other, but we we're here to be unbiased sports analysts, you know, a lot
of and we're here to give objective views.
We're not here to say the same thing everybody else says.
And no, I'm not copping the police. Sometimes people think when you, when you just go and say, what's the
truth that you're copping the police?
No, we just, we just want the right things out there.
We don't want to sound like everybody else.
We have no friends.
At least I don't, you know, we don't have to sound like everybody else. We have no friends. At least I don't.
We don't have friends in our journalism to the point that we're going to say something
because we like this person or we like that person. Now I would say we had Roach on our
show. Roach is super cool. His pops was super cool. So in that case, there's a time when people want a particular
person to win each fight. I think everybody that's watching the fight wants somebody to
win. But that don't mean that we have to sway the journalism, you know? And I just want
to put that out there before I even get into it. But now that I'm going to the fight, I think it's phenomenal
that they're running it back.
And this is where somebody said, mate, you shouldn't have said that
if you wanted Tank to be on the show.
I think Tank was pump faking him the whole time.
I think Tank knew the fight was coming in August.
He was just not saying anything so he can so Roach can goddamn party and live
his life when he already had about three months now in training. I would not be surprised to think
that Tank has been boxing and training at a high level for the last three months. While Roach has
been out here just you know I want to fight I you know, I want to fight, I want to
fight, I want to fight. So that's three, probably three months gone. And hopefully Roach has
been preparing each, each month. I'm not saying he hasn't been, but that's how it looks. You
know, Jermontae gets super quiet, look like he's going from trainer to trainer, adding tips, adding wrinkles,
pause to his game plan while this other guy's just out there parading that he should have
won the last fight and why he should have won the last fight and coming into his celebrity
for the first time worldwide.
And sometime that could be a distraction. I remember Andy Ruiz ran
around the whole world after he beat Joshua and it was like man this guy you
know he went and got Rolls Royces and all that and as he should he should enjoy
his win but then when he came back it was like not even the same fighter and I
pray that's not the case when it comes to Roach.
I want this to be a phenomenal fight.
I think it's a phenomenal fight.
And I think this time somebody goes down.
I don't know exactly who goes down, but this one will not go to the end.
This one somebody is going to have to impose their will and it's going
to be really interesting. I'm happy they're making this fight and I'm glad I'll be there.
I'd probably be there presently.
Yeah. I'm going to build on what you're saying and I'm going to speak on it through the lens
of mentality.
Yeah. And I'm going to speak on it through the lens of mentality. So throughout junior high and high school, I grew up basically going to a boxing gym.
And one thing that I see from Tank that was different from all of his other fights, Tank
had got to a point in his career where he was thinking more humane, thinking about his
kids, talking about his kids, talking about his mental health, talking about just personal stuff that you don't
think about when you're on the path of trying to achieve something. Right.
It got more into like the personal development and who am I as a person and,
you know, trying to separate who I am versus what I do.
And I remember when he was talking like that,
and I'm a huge proponent of always talking about mentality, just like I talked to y'all about Jimmy Butler. And I remember when he was talking like that and I'm a huge proponent of
always talking about mentality.
Just like I talked to y'all about Jimmy Butler and I said, man, if your
mentality isn't on a certain track, you can't produce a certain result.
You like have to go into that tunnel and you have to refine and sharpen
a game momentum and then build up.
And so when tank was basically, uh, out really telling the public, he
wanted to get his mind
right.
He has all this conflict and all this stuff going on within this camp with him and Coach
Calvin who had brought him up and switching trainers and all that.
That's a lot to deal with to your point distractions.
Tank had his own distractions like, and I'm not saying distractions in a negative way,
but like you dealing with yourself as a person and trying to be a champion, like those two
may not coincide
You know I'm saying it's like the guy who says hey man
I want to have a family life and be a champion even though both things are right
You're in the sport of being a champion. So that just requires a different mentality. And so even when they were at the
what was the presser and
He was talking about Lamont and he was like saying
disrespectful stuff.
He was even apologizing to his mother.
So that had let me know right there.
His mind wasn't in killer mode.
He looked at dude more as like his brother somebody from his neighborhood,
somebody from his home or something like that and dude had been in the
gym watching him watching him spar studying him and he was more apt to
basically kill
him. This is what stuff I was seeing going into the fight. So then by the time they fight,
you have one person's mind who isn't in here, who's probably thinking he's a lot better
and that he could just go ahead and punish Roach. And Roach is looking at this is like,
yo, this is my Buster Douglas Mike Tyson moment where I can go ahead and kill dude, knock
him out. Right? And take probably thought at some moment he would catch him and clip him. But to your
point Mace, also getting new fame is a new thing with Roach going around the world talking
about he should have won. You can get captured too much into that and doing that. And then
that becomes what consumes you rather than going to train, going to do your road work
and all that other stuff.
And so I think you're absolutely right.
I think Tank was like, OK, I'm about to hit this underground railroad again.
I know how to be a champion.
I'm about to go get this road work.
And I'm about to show this dude the difference between me and him.
It's just the same thing I was telling with Denver and OKC.
I'm about to show you the difference.
Like, we're real champions.
You're trying to be a contender. And, you know, as well as I know, you can have
talented people, but it's that little thing that separates people where you say,
okay, this is what the real thing looks like.
And this is what a contender who just might compete with you in the moment
looks like.
And I think that's just my opinion.
I think that's the tank in Lamont Roach deal.
Yeah.
Mark fought a great fight.
Love the dude love when he was on the show. Me personally that fight, you know, you can say, Hey, he got out on tank. Yeah. Yeah, but you but you have to knock a champ out. And it has to be
so decisive that there is nothing right and we can take all that away. But I think tank just his
pride, who he was as a person and just the amount of strength it took to get to that place, there's no way he gets back
on the stage and have that same performance. So that's just my take on it. But building
to your point, I think that going around parading yourself as like, this is what happened and
I really won. And you thinking like that, that that's your belt versus Tank going back
to the Underground Railroad and say, man, I'm about to just get back to this work and be prepared to,
to kick your ass or go to distance. I think like tank wins in a second.
Re-match.
Yeah. While we're talking about boxing, shout out the Keyshawn.
Keyshawn want the winner of whoever, you know,
let's not act like Keyshawn is not speaking and you know And over the weekend, I had the privilege of watching,
pause, watching Shakur Stevenson.
Somebody asked him a question about Mace,
and he answered it correctly.
So I want to show some love and respect
with where that honor is due.
They tried to put him against me,
and he was like, nah, nah, nah,
and he answered it different.
And for all of you guys out there,
whether it's in boxing, whether it's in hip hop,
when somebody asks you a question
about a person who's not there,
don't fall for the trap, you know?
And shout out to Wiz Khalifa,
because somebody tried to do it to Wiz Khalifa too.
They said, what do you think about Mace
when he said this about you?
And it's like, whenever somebody use somebody name
who's not there, just know that they're trying to put you
against that person and don't fall for it.
So shout out to Wiz Khalifa, shout out to Shakur Stevenson
and shout out to everyone else
that is answering the questions correctly. It's time out for being dumb.
I'll co-sign that one. But as far as we know all roads lead to Vegas. We will see what happens and
like May said it would be great to interview Tank too. You gotta have both sides so hopefully yeah
okay we're gonna go to break

That's what they wanna hear, man.
Hey, Stat, this would be a great time to insert accountability for the black man now.
Like what?
That's exactly what this is.
They gotta live it.
I gave them their part, though.
They gotta do their part.
If they don't do their part, that's not on me.
And the numbers are not gonna lie.

We just waiting to see.
We're just waiting to see. We're just waiting to see.
I hope Cam got to say about that.
Me too.
Me too.
This is the conversation, is what he said.
Yeah, who am I?
Who am I to lie, you know?
Who am I to lie, you know?
All right, so we got an agreement.
Yeah, we got an agreement.
How many you said?
890. So if we see 890, you gotta drop it.
It's that simple.
I just want to know, we have an agreement.
Yes, we live.
We live.
We got an agreement.
We live.
We live.
Okay.
So let's get into the NFL.
So the league will host seven international games in 2025 across five countries.
The Chiefs and Chargers will open up in Brazil.
Other locations include Dublin, Ireland, London, England, Berlin, Germany and Madrid, Spain.
Maurice, what's your take on the amount of games being played overseas?
Do you like this or do you kind of feel like it should be kept within the states? I like it for multiple reasons. One, when you're just growing
the fan base and growing into new markets, you're growing into new revenue, right? So when you go
and people have always experienced football on TV or through YouTube or just some other
third form of everything.
There's nothing like seeing like these players, these athletes, the production that these
NFL teams come to cities and basically make these people experience it.
And so if you play this thing out and it starts to become more successful, that means you
have more people with eyeballs on the game, more people who are
buying more product, which ultimately leads to more guys who are playing the
game, making more money.
At the end of the day, it's just distribution.
Like you can only sell the same thing to the same people so many times before
your revenue hits a mark.
And then I'm pretty sure somebody got a hold of it and said, okay, you know, how
do we expand this market? And the way you expand is to bring the actual
product to new people. And so you never know what comes of it. You know, excuse me, these
guys get overseas and you meet new people, you start new brands, and so on and so forth.
And just to support girls. And so I'm happy for it. And, you know, I'll let me give him state. Yeah. I think, I think when you start talking about the NFL and other countries and
other continents, I think is a powerful thing, um, uh, an amazing way to
diversify the game and also like most said, to put it in front of newer, newer
fans that haven't had the privilege to enjoy the NFL.
You got to think, sometimes we travel to countries and the channels are so different, you don't
even get to see the same thing.
So a lot of things that we think are common for us to somebody else, they may say, well,
I never even saw that.
Like one time I was overseas and I started watching a series that they had over there
that we didn't get to see over here.
So it goes both ways.
But I think the most that can come out of this is not just new fans.
It's actually just think about what a team would be like that's in London or something
like that, a real football team that comes out of a place like London
or one of these places, I think that would be phenomenal.
Puerto Rico, not Puerto Rico, but somewhere closer
that's closer to the United States.
It would be an excellent thing
and a great way to diversify the league.
I think we saw it happen in baseball,
we saw it happen in basketball. We saw it happen in
in basketball. And now it'd be great because we looking at the Toronto Raptors,
right? And then at one time, the Grizzlies were Vancouver, you know what I'm saying?
And we've seen it happen with with baseball all the time. So now it's time for
it to happen actually in football to get an expansion team.
And then, you know, it's enough money over there.
People will love it.
I just to add on before you go stat, when you were talking to me, you think about
how many youth leagues may be developed out of this, you know, cause I know in
the States that, uh, in America, they, they, they have a deal where former players can
end up starting either flag football teams or flag football leagues.
And the NFL actually supports the uniforms from young kids.
And so you go over to one of these countries that they're playing in, and now all of that
is developed.
And then that sparks a new generation and the league lives on.
So anytime you have strategic planning like this
and you're just talking about building a brand,
it's just good for just business overall
and just good for everybody.
Yeah, and think about even with boxing, right?
All these exhibitions that we've seen Floyd do
and different people do,
when they're doing these exhibitions,
they're actually trying to build their sports program in that country.
And they're using this celebrity, whoever it is, whether it's Floyd or anybody else,
to start generating for their academy. So don't be surprised when you see a champion
come out of Dubai, or one of these places that you've been seeing these exhibitions
come. That's the purpose of it. Like, they may be bringing our fights there
like the guy that is doing Devin Haney
and the fights we just saw, Tia Fimo and Roli and Ryan,
but he's actually trying to build what's better,
to have your own as champions.
That will be much better, you know?
And that's why they talk about we need
a black,
a black arm heavyweight champion.
Cause it's better that way.
And sometimes you got to grow it at home, pause.
Gotta clear that up.
So somebody say, you said grow it at home and all that.
I thought stat, stat was ready.
Look at stat.
Ah!
You gotta cover my bases, man.
Okay, so also along with the schedule, Reese, right teams took
a very interesting approach.
They got very creative like one team did like a Minecraft video
another didn't Mario Kart.
So the Colts and the Chargers, they actually had the same Minecraft video type idea, but
that wasn't even their biggest issue.
So the Colts face backlash because they inserted a clip of a boat pulling over a dolphin that
mocked Tyreek Hill.
And as we know, Tyreek Hill was detained, you know, earlier in the season by police.
So the Colts have since deleted the video and they actually apologize saying
because exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving
dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill.
We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek.
So I'm going to ask you Maurice first.
After, you know, having seen the clip, do you take a problem with it when you seen it?
No, I'm a jokester, though. So I joke.
You know what I'm saying?
I just I just always like when I think of things,
I think about intention and mentality. Right. Yeah.
And I just see somebody jokingly having fun with something
that was so serious, right?
And, you know, it just all comes from like, what generation are you from? Like, sometimes like
there's harsh comedy, there's dark comedy, there's things that I'm embarrassed about with my past
that people joke with me about. And if I know that there's no real malice behind it, like you take it
as such. And so I'm just picturing like, you know, little young white dudes making this video thinking something that's funny. And this is just me.
This is my opinion. These are these are my thoughts. And, you know, they just made a
video just just just heckling and poking fun at somebody that they're about to go compete
against. And so I don't take it that way. But sometimes when you live in the era of social
media where everything is offensive and everything like there used to be a time, and I'll say this before I finish my point, there used to be
a time where just everybody didn't have an opinion about everything.
Where people just let things be what they were and moved on.
But the fact that, I'm pretty sure you had all the hecklers online getting mad at the
coach and talking about it was insensitive and so on and so forth.
You know, they probably caught like some PR pressure and decided to take it down.
Honestly, I just grew up on, I just grew up on, on social media this week.
I think I finally had my epiphany, you know, before this Cam used to to always be like, yo, Mace, you need to get on Instagram.
You need to do this more.
Pause. And I would be like, man, I just...
People be talking crazy. I don't come from that.
And then, so, man, I just felt like, you know,
it's like you got to understand anything goes out here,
and it just finally clicked for me
and I just want to acknowledge that.
So when I hear this thing about Tyreek Hill, I'm kind of laughing about it because now
I kind of get it.
You know that it's just all fun.
It's not somebody really trying to slander you or anything like that.
Because you know that's how my mind used to think.
You say something crazy when I see you, we straight there.
We going straight there.
And I had to realize, no, these people don't mean it like that.
You run up to them, they'd be like, it's content.
It's content.
And I'm thinking content.
It can be content, you know?
And not that anyone did this to me, but it just
clicked for me because I was of the old school mindset that, no, you don't play like that.
You don't do that. You don't say this. You don't, you know? And I had to realize it's
just content. That's all it is. Nobody really hates anybody. People are just saying what they believe they need to say.
I've never been that person, but that's how most people operate.
They're just saying what they think they need to say.
And sometimes we're overreacting to things that people are just saying for you to give
them a third interview or for you to give them a fifth thing to say or fourth
thing to say. But when it come to Tyreek Hill, I think they should have left it up actually.
I think they should have left it up. I thought it was hilarious. From the comedy state. And
I think we got to decide, do we want to be people that are always serious? Or are we
people that can give a joke? Because if you can give a joke, then you got to be people that are always serious? Or are we people that can give a joke?
Because if you can give a joke,
then you gotta be able to take a joke.
And I think there's too many people
that can only give a joke.
Like people can say something funny,
but when they're part of what is funny,
they don't like it.
And that's what clicked for me this week.
Cause I realized I do it to people all the time and I know I don't mean anything
But I know it was just in the moment
It was a joke like sexy red the first lady of the church that it was just a joke
But somebody like you don't be playing with sexy
She's a you know this and and it definitely wasn't meant that way shot the sexy, you know
That's a that's a really good point.
I want to kind of talk about a little bit because obviously on the outside
we can think it was funny because honestly, I thought it was funny too.
But we can't dictate how Tyreek Hill receives it.
And obviously, after the fact, he came out and said, she left it up.
This was funny.
So if he thinks that's cool, but it's like certain things, the whole is just content.
I don't even think like that because I'm just the type of person who acts on good.
That's just how I was raised.
That's just how I think.
So that's how I'm going to perform about things.
But you can't tell somebody how to react.
So when you have a response, they're going to react how they want to, whether
that's what your intention was for them to have backwards or not. And at the end of the
day, we as people cannot choose that we cannot choose a response. So if you're going to say
something or put out a video and like the Colts did, they took a risk and the organization
is probably like, we don't even want to back this because we don't even know what Tyree
Taylor is going to say. Luckily, in the end, he said, honestly, this was jokes.
It was funny because it was.
That ended up right in their favor,
but he could have been like, man, F this, F that.
Y'all don't even win anyways.
He could have took that approach, but he didn't
because it didn't matter to him that much.
But it depends on the situation,
and it's kind of like a case by case type of situation.
So, I'm not plastic. I think when you're in a public eye,
you got to get public skin pause.
You know, you got to get public skin because you're
in the public eye.
So things are going to be said, you know,
that is going to be said.
Your job is not to become a part of the content.
That's just, that's what your job is as a public figure,
to not put yourself on the docket, you know?
As what's the lady name with that,
the hammer from Miami?
Kaya.
You don't know Kaya?
The only Kaya I know is cooking with Kaya.
She's from Atlanta.
Oh my goodness, Stat.
Shout out to Kaya.
You gotta get your stuff together, Stat.
Come on.
You also gotta remember we have different
memories of babies. Come on, Stat. gotta remember we have different mysteries and things.
Oh, Stat, no.
Kaia don't cook her up.
Please Kaia don't cook her up.
She don't know no better.
Let me say this, Stat.
She had the record.
She had the record, her neck and her back.
You know that song?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that's a big dog. That's a big dog
from Florida. You ain't really from Florida's back. I am. I actually only claim Florida,
so I've been very consistent. Oh my goodness. Whoever put that video up of me, now that was hilarious. I did not know that was my eyes and nose on that video
where it says, and this is Mae's favorite teams.
And then it got me up this end.
The Sacramento Kings.
Oh yeah, yeah, I seen that.
The Boston Celtics.
Who happened?
People got too much time on their hands. Shout out the book, man. That was great.
Yeah. Maurice, did you have a point before?
Yeah, no, no. So when you were talking, you sound like my daughter, right? And, but it's
making the point where when you say something to my daughter, this new generation, and it's
not good or bad,
it's just the way that you get trained in school and to be more aware of your emotions
and be more aware of how you process things.
And they think everything is personal.
They think everything is an attack.
And that's like, that's how this, this whole thing with Tyreek even becomes a thing.
Because like, people just used to say things and it's
like, hey, it's not that serious. But somewhere in society, we've been taught to like psychoanalyze
every single thing that somebody says, as if it's that deep. And when it makes us talking
about like when I say there's hard jokes, it's funny stuff. Like when you just come
from a different generation, like it just wasn't that serious. But somewhere we just
start, we decided to take everything
serious and that everything became offensive. And that everything that somebody said was
either malicious or intentional or it has some like historical context. Sometimes, sometimes
stuff just ain't that deep is just a joke. And that's what it is. And so you talking
actually helps me like sometimes it's just a general generational disconnect of like,
how people joke what what they receive,
what they take personal. And there probably needs to be more skill around stuff like that.
But most stuff just isn't. People don't do stuff with ill intent. There's not some deep
rooted thought. That's all I want to say.
Yeah. In California, they're more desensitized. In New York, the humor is very dark.
It's very dark.
It's like, you almost died, but it's funny.
You know, it's like, ha ha ha, he almost died.
You know?
It's so callous.
So I understand the difference of the world.
Yeah.
And I didn't mean that in a bad way, but when I talked to my daughter, I'll say something, she'd be like, your daddy, you're offending
me.
Daddy, you're my personal space.
And I'd be like, what are you saying?
And then she says, well, I have the right to like take a breather for something.
And in my head, I'd be like, what's the difference between go out and get the switch versus I'll call
the cops on you.
I'm not going to get no switch.
I'll call the cops on you.
It's two different worlds.
It's just two different worlds.
Yeah.
And I love my baby.
That's all I want to say.
I love my baby too.
No, clearly she loves you too.
And even the fact that she can just have those conversations
with you, even though you're like, what?
For her even comfortable telling you that,
already great dad at work.
Cause like y'all can have those conversations.
Y'all can talk things out.
That's to her.
Cause some people can't even have those conversations.
Yes, that we didn't get to do that.
We started doing that.
She said, you cry.
I'm going to give you something to cry about.
Yeah. As I'm saying, it's different.'m gonna give you something to cry about. Yeah.
As I'm saying, it's different.
And so like even back to Mace, like I know you joking about like, sometimes the disconnects,
but it's like, we grew up completely different because the point you made about Florida is
completely different for me because yeah, I know I joke about, you know, growing up
in Florida, but I really did.
I consider myself Southern homegrown, you know, Southern hospitality.
I was just always taught to be kind to others.
Not saying that you guys haven't, let me make that clear.
But it's just kindness prevails. I don't sit in the...
Kindness prevails?
Yes!
I don't think I ever heard that growing up.
That's just how I think.
You know what we would talk? We would talk, nice guys finish last.
See, I don't even know.
You see the difference, Ted?
You said kindness prevail, and I'm hearing, be nice here, and then I hear, nice guys finish
last.
See, yeah.
That's what I'm saying.
It's a disconnect because I don't even think like that.
Even like when you guys all share stories,
I'm like, well, are you OK?
You guys are like, yeah, that's fine.
We just charge it to the game.
That's cool if you want to charge it to the game.
But sometimes the thought process in between,
I'm just thinking like, how can we make this positive in the end?
Y'all might laugh at me, but that's literally how I think.
I'm just a nice person.
I want everybody to be kind.
I would hope the world could be lollipops and rainbows,
but I don't know that that's not the truth.
And that's just the world that we live in.
And that's that.
Nothing you can do about it.
That was crazy, Stat.
That was crazy.
Lollipops and rainbows?
Lollipops and rainbows, Stat?
Yes, but that's not reality.
Crazy.
I know that.
Oh my goodness.
Whiz Nick Edmonds.
How reality is lollipops and rainbows.
No, it's not the reality.
Which is the reality.
I wish it was but I know that that's not true.
I just think if we could make the world a better place day
by day, that's what I would
hope for.
But I know that that's not reality.
So hey, it's the world we live in.
Yeah, I just group around too many ruthless people.
That's what I'm saying.
I did it.
I had to figure things out on my own.
I was my little dirty self in my classrooms and I just did what I did.
You cannot do the same.
No, this is the beauty of the generations of the show, the dynamic of the show.
Yes.
This is the beauty of the spectrum of black people.
It's beautiful.
It's even beautiful that you was raised that way, you were brought up that way, you have
respect that way, and you have your innocence.
And I want to maintain that, and I just want to make this clear, not even just for y'all but for people watching I think a lot of the times and they're like dang stat how did you not know this or how did you not watch this,
I'm trying to give you guys insight into my mind in the way that the environment that I grew up in. That's how I approach things. Obviously I've've learned that is not the case. That is not the truth. Being up here with Mase, Maurice, Cam every day. Trust me, the reality check has been hit.
I know. But I'm just saying that's kind of the thought process. So that's why I view things the
way that I do or speak on things the way that I do. Cause that's just how I think.
No, but shout out to your mother and father who raised you right, who raised you in a responsible manner.
You're a very, you're a phenomenal product of both of them.
But I say this in a respectful and like big up way.
I raised my daughter similar to how you raise.
And so she probably has an experience similar to yours, right?
In saying that we all have to exist
in the same world together.
And so we're just going to see things differently
and we're going to view people differently.
And Mace probably grew up like me where
you can't trust none of these niggas.
Yeah.
That's right.
Can't trust your second uncle.
His dad's kind of.
Yeah.
You go around, you go around niggas
who don't love themselves.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And trust me, I see it, but of course my hope is that one day that trust will come
back for somebody.
But I know that the mentality is just I'm locked in, that's just how I move.
No new friends, that type of thing.
Like I'm locked in on me and that's that.
And I can see it.
I see it and I understand it but on the flip side. I would hope that things eventually become
That's all
You from London a little bit
Alexander like that's been kind of in my head
Yeah, I'm telling you I've been I've been really thankful because every time I'm flying, dude. Yeah, and I'm telling you, I've been really thankful
because every time I'm flying and I come across people,
it's amazing.
These two kids were in the store arguing about me
being one of the best sports journalists.
They didn't even know me for music.
So that's why I say, oh, yeah, I got to put the music out.
This little boy said, he said, mommy, that's the sports guy.
And I was like, yeah.
But every time I'm going somewhere, man,
I didn't know how much people love the show.
Like every time I'm going somewhere,
one guy stopped me and just says some phenomenal things.
So shout out to all of the fans and all of the people.
And they love you out there.
This people be fighting for you.
I feel the love every single day.
And I appreciate everybody who supports
and just uplifts and supports the show.
And even pokes fun.
Like I could, look, they'd be joking.
I'd be joking too.
Like let's not get it twisted.
So I love all of our fans.
Thank y'all for tuning in every day,
supporting everything that we do.
It's a blessing.
So, yeah.
Yeah, man.
They even bring up Mo, they bring up OJ,
they bring up Michael Irvin.
