Y'all are quiet.
I don't know what the problem is.
Listen, man.
I'm only Easton.
You're supposed to be Title Town.
You shouldn't even be happy.
You shouldn't even be happy when nothing going on right now.
You should still be prolonging the,
but you're still here with the Easton Conference finals.
What's the problem?
Stat, Titletown is on the move.
Clearly, clearly.
Stat, but I told you, I was not ready to say they were champs.
I told you, this is why I couldn't accept them.
And Titletown, but we're gonna get to that.
We're gonna get to that. We're gonna get to that.
But Stat, you're super biased.
I don't even feel like saying you're from Florida right now.
You have nothing to say about Cam.
You try to pause, put it on both of us.
Yes, it's on both of you guys.
It's on both of you guys.
And Cam, they can see you, Cam.
They can see you.
Everybody watching can see you.
You're not low.
You're not low.
Listen, this is what I'll say.
This is what I'm gonna say.
Look, this is what I'm gonna say is this.
Nick is a Nick fan.
You know, let's think about the people there.
I see Fat Joe there, shout out to Fat Joe.
Yeah.
I see Fab there, shout out to Fab.
Shout out to Fab.
Fab, I see Ben Stiller there, I see Adam Sandlin there.
I see a lot of people there.
But if you ain't from money making Manhattan,
is you got your own thing going on when you at, man.
But Fat Joe, you got the Yankees, Fab, you got the Liberty and the on where you at, man.
You got the Yankees, you got the Liberty, and the Nets.
Spike Lee keepin' shootin' on Al Burrow.
Spike Lee is not from the, I'm from uptown.
I'm from 100 blocks from the garden.
I'm right up the block from the garden.
I ain't gotta cross the bridge to get to the garden. I ain't gotta go through a tunnel.
I ain't gotta do nothing.
I'm from Moneymaker, Manhattan.
I'm from uptown.
We just take, we can walk to the garden, actually.
You ain't gotta cross no bridges or nothing.
Sometimes you from Moneymaker, Manhattan, murder.
Sometimes you not.
I don't know.
I'm consistent.
At least you can say I'm consistent about that.
I'm from Harlem.
We have the block. Nick, did you just. Nick, did you just put fireworks behind him?
Yeah, thank God Nick. That's what I'm saying.
Look, Nick wanna get to the garden, he gotta cross a bridge or take a tunnel.
He can't just go to the garden. I'm up the block.
Nick, Nick. See how he switched up on you that fast?
That's crazy.
Nick, my man, he knows the truth.
He knows the truth, that's what I'm saying.
It's a fact.
This is wow.
See, you don't understand that.
I know it's that.
He just told us last week that he's been away
from New York for 20 years now.
20 years, Nick, do you got the footage? Matter
of fact, stop, stop, stop. Let's go to the footage.
Nick ain't gonna be able to find that footage. You don't even know what show that is. But
get it. You can try. Nick ain't gonna find that by 8 AM. You don't know where to go. Yo, Killer said he wasn't from New York.
You know, he ain't been in New York 20 years.
He's been away for as long as he's been there.
She changed my, I said I haven't been there.
I never said I'm not from here.
Let's do this murder.
Let's do this murder.
No, this what we gonna do.
Let's make a bet and see, we both go to Harlem.
Who could use somebody bathroom pause quicker?
You can make a call and use somebody bathroom
without your celebrity, you still type in?
I could call somebody like,
I gotta use the bathroom real quick.
Y'all let me in the bedroom.
I'm gonna get busted on that. I'm gonna get busted. Do you got something weird that you gotta go to the bathroom, do you got somewhere right now you go to bathroom?
St. Nick, St. Nick right now in the projects.
I say no more.
That's all I'm saying.
I'm just doing the check.
That's it.
That's all I'm saying.
We're going to start with this first game, but I will add, I, this is crazy. So we're gonna start with this first game,
but I will add, I think this is exactly
what the people had been waiting for,
to see y'all two sitting up here in next square.
This is all the people wanted.
It took y'all for them to get to the finals,
the conference finals for y'all to finally support home.
I know this is like dang.
I know we have that.
This the problem, Stat.
You younger so you don't get it.
You ain't been through the turmoil.
You ain't been through niggas getting high blood pressure.
Their emotions is fucked up every night.
You don't know Trent Tucker.
You don't know Roy Sparrow.
You don't know Roy Sparrow.
Yeah. Rolando Black Sparrow? Yeah.
Rolando Blackman, Stats.
Yeah.
This is what I'm talking about.
People don't even know the names that we naming, man.
We been through all that, man.
Yeah.
Or and all that.
Or.
You know Or?
Louis Or.
Yeah.
They just don't know Louis Or, man.
This been problems for years, decades, man.
And listen, I ain't even gonna get myself too too hype,
not saying I'm not in the car, I jumped in the car,
but the end of the day, yeah.
But we ain't even, we gotta get to the next round.
I'm celebrating us getting out the second round
for the last however many years.
They've been 25, 26 years since I've been a conference fan.
Yeah.
A little profanity could come outside, man, you know?
Yeah.
Jacket fire, killer the jacket fire.
Yeah, I appreciate it, man.
I'm talking to Ronnie from Kiff, man.
He's saying this like two years ago.
Ronnie, what's going on now, Ronnie?
Nah, I'm keeping it a hundred.
You being biased, Ronnie.
Nah, I'm keeping it a hundred.
This ain't no cap. This shit like two years old. I
got mad.
Throwing that on till it's time.
Wow. See, I can't believe my eyes. But I like this. I like
this for y'all. This is great. It's what everybody wanted to
see. So I support it. Okay, so we're gonna start the mix. So
they advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals after being
the Celtics 1 19281 from this series Mace, what are your
biggest takeaways from the next team as a whole?
We back. We back. That's all I can say. We back, you know,
cam back, you know, we back back, you know
We back outside, you know, I'm saying I mean when I think about it this team is playing really good I'm not gonna go as far as saying they could beat Indiana yet, but they could
They could I'm not saying they will but they could you know if they get OG to play at the same time that Brunson is playing, they could really
be good because it looked like Kat is showing up every night and that's a great sign.
They're getting front court play as well as back court play at the same time.
And it's making this team look like a real formidable opponent.
And I know they want to get back.
Last year, this is the team that sent them home.
So I know Jalen Brunson got something to say about this.
He was hurt in the series last year and a lot of people was getting hurt and he wasn't
really all together.
So this this really means a lot to the New York and not to mention it's always a light
skinned dude sending New York home.
If it's not Reggie Miller, now, what's his name?
Halliburton has become the new Reggie.
So we definitely can't have no tall light skinned dude sending New York home again.
So that's what I'm looking forward to.
There's been a really good series, but I think the Knicks could win it.
I'm not sure who wins it though, at this point.
Indiana has been steamrolling through the playoffs.
They really shut out a great Cavalier team and this Cavalier team was looking
like, I think they were number one or number two in the, in the East.
So when you, when you sweep a team that was number one, you're,
you're really looking strong.
It was a gentleman sweep, but it was still a sweep.
Four one, let them get a game, get them niggas out of here.
They work on it on their off season.
Yeah, look man, the Knicks look real,
you know the Knicks look tough.
That's what they look like.
They look really tough.
Like yo, and it's not, and they're
not fighting, but it looks like one of them niggas like y'all pussy.
Yo, fuck out of y'all niggas. Yo, come on. We not beating y'all off the strength that
your haircut is too fly. Off the strength. I don't like the way you keep coming in here
clean cut. We ain't for all that. We not here for that attitude.
That's how Knicks look. Look, like even in the series, when um, McHale Bridges on the
last play, he uh, they, I believe it was a few games ago, but when Boston was down to
two or three points, wherever they did a pass and Jaylen Brunson, pardon me, um, Jaylen
Brown was going to shoot a three.
And Mikel Bridges stopped the three,
not only stopped the three,
he snatched the ball out his hand
and threw it like fuck outta here.
And I was like, that's a different type of toughness, yo.
And the Knicks looked really tough,
even to the point where,
where Hart is bleeding,
it looked like, you know, he's bleeding, but it's looked like it's part of the storm like
nigga. Yeah, this is what we gotta do to get there. You
know, even though a nigga and then you know, I know we're
focused on the nicks but Boston that last game, it looked like
they just gave up. He'd be honest with you. It looked like
I thought it was gonna be a close game to be totally honest
with you but it looked like they was like, we ain't gonna
win this without Tatum. We might as well wrap this shit up, man.
That's how Boston look.
Jaylen Brown, who's supposed to be Batman superstar,
300, 4 million, 10 million, whatever he is,
fouled out in the third quarter.
I looked at that like, yo, with it, come on, bro.
You're no better than that.
You know, come on, you know, but,
man, you just wanna go slam. You fouled out in the third, you're no better than that. You know, come on, you know, man, you just wanna go slam.
You fouled out in the third, you know,
even if you got five fouls,
you don't play defense that hard to catch a sixth foul.
And you say, I have five fouls in the third quarter.
Don't try to act like you was over-exerting yourself
on defense, I'm taking that as,
you didn't wanna play no more.
They sat down, they looked bad,
only person I'm giving a pass to,
I'm gonna give a pass to Forzingis
because what's come out in the news over the weekend
is that, and let me know if you buy,
not saying this, Murda, I just don't like it when it's over.
What Jalen Brown is saying, and I'm not discrediting,
I'm not doing, he was playing this whole time
when it tore him in nisqis.
What you think about that?
I don't buy that.
You know a nigga that's about to lose,
that ain't by hurting.
Yeah.
Down eight, you fall, you're rich.
Ah, you know you're about to go home.
People always do that.
That's the old trick.
That ain't nothing new.
Yeah.
But he could have had a tour meniscus,
but don't go out there. Let us know that beforehand.
Exactly. Exactly. So that's what I took from that. I think.
Niggas not with none of the lies, man. Just tell the truth, bro.
Yeah, niggas gave up that game. They gave up, bro. So to me, I'm like, nah, only person I'm gonna
say who looked physically sick that whole series was poor Zingas. But like you say, them niggas was hurt last year,
talking about their Knicks.
We gotta think about Julius Randall didn't play,
Jalen Bronson got hurt during the series.
They were banged up and they took Indiana to seven.
So now we have to think about, yo, healthy,
they looking good.
They looking good.
A healthy New York Knick team might, you know, we can't, like you said, Indiana been looking real good. A healthy New York Knick team might, you know,
we can't, like you said,
Indiana been looking real good,
but a healthy New York team look like
they want revenge on everybody
because niggas been playing with their name.
This look like niggas who been,
feel like niggas been playing with their name.
That's what it feels like to me.
And-
Yeah, they gotta get their name back.
Yeah, and then you gotta think about this.
All these, all these different things are coming out.
Like Stephen A. Smith in 2016 said
that Villanova didn't have any NBA players on the team.
Then you got to sit there and think about how
in the beginning of the season or before the season start,
not just sports analysts,
but I remember a lot of New York Knicks fans are mad
because Mikel Bridges learned how to shoot again.
He had to start over his shooter form
and everything else.
And they like, why is he learning how to shoot again
and do this and do that?
And now Mikel Bridges was, you know,
one of them games and a couple of them games
outside of being defensive,
priless to make sure that the shots didn't go for Boston.
He had like 14, 15 points one quarter
to make them win as well.
So whatever the fuck he was learning how to shoot
in the off season, that shit took a little minute,
but now everybody McHale bridges out.
These niggas want they name back
or want a name in the NBA, like stop playing with us.
We one of them teams.
That's what it looked like, man.
So congratulations to the New York Knicks.
They look good.
And like you said, Mase,
this Indiana team been looking real good.
But the stat that I do want to bring out real quick
is this, is that this is why we always talk about
the regular season as opposed to playing somebody
in a series.
When you play somebody in the series you can make adjustments, you can be like oh they,
you know, like we actually seen the Knicks come back from a 20 point lead, two games
in a row, on the road.
You know, that was almost some rocky three shit or something, you know what I'm saying?
So, what I point that I wanted to bring up was that that I was looking at how everybody
was making a big deal, including myself,
how the Knicks were only one in 11
against the top three teams in the NBA.
How they only had one win against Oklahoma City,
the Cavaliers, and the Boston Celtics.
Well, the Cavaliers, they get to the second round, and the Boston Celtics. Where the Cavaliers, they get to the second round
and the Boston Celtics were pretty,
you know, we gonna count Jason Tatum out two games,
but Jason Tatum was playing them games
that the Knicks motherfucking came back
and got the 20 point deficit.
So we gotta stop, I'm not saying the regular season
doesn't matter for season or anything else,
because now we gotta think about this.
The Knicks actually have home court advantage against the Pacers, but the Knicks are going to
be at home. So sometimes that regular season record against these teams doesn't equal out
when it's a seven game series. Okay. So you guys made a lot of really great points and the theme
of this even conversation today is going to be pinpointing a lot of really great points and the theme of this even conversation
today is going to be pinpointing a lot to injuries because we've seen a lot of that
throughout the playoffs.
But you guys talked about Porzingis, obviously we talked about Jason Tatum.
I want to circle back a little bit to Jalen Brown's statement.
So obviously he did play through a torn meniscus knee injury.
But after he said, I don't make excuses.
Obviously it's tough the way we went out like tonight, but the way we finished the
year personally, the way I finished the year persevering through some physical stuff that
I was battling through, I'm proud of our group.
So how much do you guys kind of account for injuries?
And are you like buying that type of statement?
Or you just feel like, nope, it's not cool.
You're supposed to play.
Mace, how do you feel about that?
I think if you're injured, you shouldn't play. If you're hurting, you play. But if you're injured,
you're not supposed to play. So when somebody like any person go out there and plays, I think if you're
on the court, it counts, right? So everybody's going through something. Some people are going
through mental things. Some people are going through mental things some people are going through physical things
And I think if you're not gonna make an excuse don't make one
You know why I hate when boxers get out there and do that and they say you know what?
I wasn't a hundred percent, but no excuses
Bro, if you if you if you you're not a hundred percent
Say that but if you're gonna say you're not 100%, say that. But if you're going to say you're 100%, don't say no excuses because you just said an excuse.
I don't get that.
They were just the better, he was just the better man tonight.
Well leave it at that.
Give a niggas credit.
I hate that about niggas.
Niggas that try to give you credit and then take the credit away in the same
conversation and that's what it sounds like if he's hurt I totally understand
it and he shouldn't have been out there because while you're on the floor all
we can gauge is you what you did on the floor I think it's better to just sit
out because it didn't change the outcome you get what I'm saying there's no
there's no moral victories in basketball.
We only know the team with the most points.
I was going to say the same exact thing.
This nigga Beth just said, man, you can't.
Now it's a couple of things.
I want to put this into context.
Now look, if he sat there and say, I had a torn meniscus, but that's no excuse.
Yo, yo bro, why would you say it?
Cause like you said, Macy's still making an excuse.
Now, the next context is, if a doctor comes out and says,
well, or the coach or somebody says,
yo, you know, Jalen Brown's torn,
playing with torn meniscus. Then they ask Jalen Brown, he'd be like, look, I ain't Jalen Brown's playing with Torma Niscus.
Then they ask Jalen Brown, he be like,
look, I ain't making no excuses.
I could buy that one.
But then, but then you got the last scenario
when you be like, yo, try to report that to Torma Niscus
so he can ask me about it.
And then I can say no excuses.
Hey, media, Jalen Brown, somebody told me he's
playing with Tom and Liskis. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there ain't
no excuse. Listen, I know the context of what he said. Two out
of three, he told niggas to let him know that he out of Tom and
Liskis. So Scott, when you're reading this, I'm just asking,
did he say it or he was answering a question?
Pretty sure he was answering a question, but I'll double check for you.
I think he told niggas to let niggas know. You double-checked that.
Yeah, but that's what it sound like because who's gonna let that say it? Jalen Brown went directly
to a media member, but somebody on the staff was like, yo, I'm gonna let the
media know, okay?
Yeah, yeah, it's cool.
Let them know.
Yeah, because they don't want to give too much confident also to the Knicks to think
that the Knicks is a better team.
Because you got to remember, they're beating the Celtics with Jason Tatum and with your boy, Jalen Brown.
The only person they didn't have is poor Zynga.
So the Knicks, this sets up a really good rivalry for next year.
When they got their whole squad and the Knicks got their whole squad to find out
really what's good, but right now we're on a Nick train, we got to stay on a Nick
train and there ain't nothing else to talk about right now.
But New York.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
What I was thinking about more murder is this is that,
yo, what's the story for Boston next year?
Cause Jason Tatum got hurt too late in the season
to even play next year.
Niggas might be like,
niggas may not even respect
Boston next year without adjacent Tatum.
They may walk into motherfucking Orlando
and Orlando bitch smack them around like some little niggas.
The way they went out that last game,
not saying they don't have good players,
you gotta think about this, and this is a lot of credit
to Jalen Brunson.
You're looking at two all defensive players
when you think about Drew Holliday and Derek White.
These niggas is top defenders in the NBA
and the way he handled them niggas,
his scoring ability is just ridiculous.
His technical skills, the way, you know,
he gets around somebody, slows them and beats them.
The fact, you know, he's really crafty and does what he does.
But for Boston, where does this leave Boston next year
knowing Jason Tatum's not gonna be there
the full regular season, minimum?
I don't think niggas is gonna respect Boston,
my personal opinion.
Yeah, if Juul Holliday is a defensive stopper,
I couldn't tell.
Right.
Yeah, Jalen Brunson was looking like, man, why is this nigga even on me?
Pause for real.
He was doing whatever he felt like doing.
You can't be no defensive stopper and a nigga got 38.
Who did you stop?
Yeah, but we see it's just better offense, man.
The kid Jalen Brunson just got better offense.
Sometimes it just be like that.
Great defense, better offense.
Better offense, man.
Yeah.
Bruce Bowen.
Bruce Bowen, yeah.
Bruce Bowen, he ain't stopping Kobe.
I ain't comparing, well, we think like,
oh, you're comparing, I'm just giving examples.
Bruce Bowen, first team on defense. Yeah, Tony Allen, you know, Kobe Kobe said to Kobe Kobe
Tony Allen is the best defender to ever defend them still score 39. What was his name? I may be exaggerating. What was his name? Brian from Utah that was on Jordan when he pushed him.
Byron.
Yeah, that nigga Byron.
Yeah.
Yeah, you all did that offense.
Yeah.
But let me ask you, make sure real quick
before we move on.
That's a question.
What do you think about Boston next season
with no Jason Taylor?
I think they're like fifth, sixth place.
They're probably like fifth or sixth.
Cause you gotta think New York come back
even hungrier next year.
Cleveland got a chip on their shoulder.
That's two teams.
Orlando might add a piece and think they really got a shot.
And then you got Indiana. Yeah, Indiana. So that's why I said around five, five, six.
I put them six, seven. Yeah, definitely. I'm gonna keep it honey. I know that last game,
they got to come out in the beginning of the season next year and show me something because
So that last game they got to come out in the beginning of the season next year and show me something.
Because the way they quit, that was crazy.
Yeah.
So as long as Jason Tatum's injured, Cam, we will not be seeing you in Celtics gear?
Question mark?
Listen, man.
The question is that...
The whole thing is, let me ask you, as long as Miami not winning, we're going to see you
on another Nick Dirty next round.
That opportunity was too good to not support and show my love and appreciation.
My answer is your answer.
Valid.
I can accept that.
And then real quick to answer you guys' question from earlier, as far as the whole postgame interview, so ESPN reported Jaylen Brown's injury.
I don't have the exact question that was asked before saying that he doesn't make excuses,
but stats assumption, I'm going to start practicing that before, is that somebody kind of asked
him about it and kind of what resulted in the results that he had for that game.
Because it's not transcribed and I would have to listen to it.
Can't obviously do that on here, just to be transparent. But yeah. Okay, so let's actually talk about Denver
real quick before we go to break and then we'll get more into the further details. So
yeah, now we see that Denver is eliminated from the playoffs after losing 125 to 93 to
the OKC Thunder.
It was definitely a fight all the way to Game 7. But Mace, what are your thoughts on the outcome?
Title Town is on the move, baby, you know.
You know, it's on the move.
It's nothing I could do about it.
You know what I'm saying?
If they you got it, you got to reapply every year.
That's what I keep trying to tell you.
You're not just guaranteed to be in title town
because you win once, you gotta win again, you know?
So you can put your application in.
I'll look through it, but you know,
the playoffs is what the playoffs is, you know?
I think, I think Shay Giltres Alexander is clearly the MVP.
He's clearly the best player on the West.
And we're about to see what him and Ant-Man does because in that game, it was like him
versus Denver.
It was like he made sure that Denver didn't win that game.
They went so crazy on Denver.
It don't look like they ever really,
like ever really was gonna have a chance.
It's like they came out and I liked the way that
Paws that this OKC team is playing.
When they really need a game,
they're coming out with the vengeance to get that game.
They're not just playing like a regular game. They're
really playing like we're that much better than the other team. And I like the way they was
playing defense on Murray. I like the way they figured out how to contain even Joker. That took
a lot of basketball IQ to do that, to say, you know what, we're going to do this to take him completely
out of the game.
And that's a coaching call and a team that truly believed in them.
And when I look at this Denver team, I am very disappointed.
This is the first time I saw them that I could say I'm very disappointed.
I know they lost other times, but Jamar Murray just got to do better.
He got to do better because he's a better player.
I was even high on, I don't want to say it, but Michael Porter Jr., he got to turn this
around.
He's better than this.
He need a basketball intervention because the way Killer was talking, at first I didn't
want to go with it, but you know,
you know, I gotta, I gotta side with what he's saying, Michael Porter, you gotta change this up. Because I'm starting to believe what Killer said, man.
Well, I was talking to an NBA exec yesterday. Yeah.
And we was talking about,
I told him how Michael Porter Jr.
is turning into Ben Simmons.
He said, both them niggas need to go do ballet.
That's what he said out of his mouth.
Damn.
What is ballet gonna do?
Damn! What is ballet gonna do?
Think about two six ten white skin niggas plieging.
You might go see it.
So let me ask you this.
If it was Michael Porter Jr. and Ben Simmons at the ice capades, would you go?
Stat, he's talking to you, I ain't going.
Okay, got it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, you gotta think about it,
it might be interesting, two niggas ice skating,
fall, jump in the grass, not doing like this,
and all that, flying in the sky,
might be interesting.
I'm just telling you what a nigga said.
I didn't even make that up.
You said to them two niggas need to do ballet, man.
But back to the game, you know what this game looked like?
This game looked like.
A fighter.
Who had a fight, he's a good, they're a good fighter,
and they and they lose and the next fight.
You could tell that the previous fight took a toll on them. And that's exactly what they look like. Because what happened was Denver
was up 12 points to the end of the second quarter. The end of the second quarter, the
last three minutes of the second quarter, I believe OKC and don't quote me
on this one, like a 17 to three runner and a half out. Denver was up like two, three
points with three minutes left in the second half and they never recovered. Joker looked
like they were tapped out. It looked like how we said they went that grueling seven
game series with the Clippers.
This looked like, god damn, another game seven.
You gotta think about that.
These niggas played 14 games so far.
Everybody done played seven games.
So these, it looked like niggas who was tapped out.
The Joker only took nine shots.
The Joker ain't never, it's a closeout game,
the Joker only get nine shots up.
Now don't get me fucked up.
OKC defense was on another level.
You know who was guarding the Joker
the majority of the game?
Caruso.
Caruso giving up like 140 pounds,
probably like about fucking seven inches pause.
He did a great job guarding the Joker.
Probably the best job I've seen in the last four or five a great job guarding the Joker. Probably the best job I've seen
in the last four or five years
of anybody guarding the Joker.
But it was by committee.
It was him on them.
They would collapse, double team,
and niggas wasn't knocking the shots down.
Jamal Murray, terrible game.
Terrible, man.
Y'all let the Joker down, this whole shit.
Aaron Gordon, we know he came in with a hamstring injury.
And he played, to be honest, I want to salute Aaron Gordon
because he played against doctors orders.
The doctor said, no, we're not recommending you to play.
You have a second degree, yada, yada, yada,
hamstring injury.
You should be sitting there for two weeks.
And he like, fucked that.
So he played against doctors orders
and he wasn't talking about it.
That just was in the media.
So before the game, so that's what I know about.
So I don't wanna contradict what I said earlier
about Jalen Brunson and people make excuses.
That knowledge was out before the game.
Pardon me, Jalen Brown, thank you.
That knowledge was out prior to the game.
But it just looked like certain niggas ran out of gas
and I can't say more than Mace just said about Michael Porter Jr.
You averaged single digits this series.
I mean you had a 21 point game and everybody's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right back to two, three points, six points, nine points.
Yo bro, you cannot be the starting three guard in a close out game and not get double digits.
Now to the other side of the equation,
OKC, congratulations.
This was the test that OKC needed, in my opinion.
Even though I wanted to see Denver move on,
just because I love seeing the joker play,
my second team would have been absolutely OKC
because Shay Gilders Alexander
is just beautiful basketball to watch.
This was the game that they needed
because if they were the one this game,
everybody would have been like,
yeah, they can't get past this,
this where they was at last year.
Similar to what we talking about with the Knicks.
Oh, they already make it to the second round.
They can't get to the Western Conference finals.
So they absolutely needed this game
because you can't keep blaming on,
they're the youngest team in the NBA
when you have a two-time first team or NBA,
supposed to be, or we'll see in the next few days,
MVP of the league and SGA.
But by committee, everybody did good.
Jay Will played terrible last game.
Came back in and bust they ass this game.
Horstein looked good.
Everybody except for Dort was in double digits.
And defensively, we already know they're the number one team
defensively in a regular season,
but this game just looked like, wow,
now they're not letting none get off.
Like I said, for the joker, they're only getting nine shots.
You know they were terrorizing, nigga.
So congratulations to the OKC Thunder.
So there's still a lot to pick apart regarding this game, what teams should do next, changes to the OKC Thunder. So there's still a lot to pick apart regarding this game, what
team should do next, changes to the game, and we even got to
get into our conference finals predictions, but we'll get into
all that after the break.
On underdog, you can play your way to bigger boosts each round
of the playoffs with the extended. Start a series by using
your game one boost and continue boosting each subsequent game.
The longer the series, the bigger the boosts.
Underdog, the best place to pick playoff basketball.
Welcome back.
So we know that Aaron Gordon played and started in Game 7 despite his grade 2 hamstring strain that requires weeks to heal,
but he played through anyways.
Mace, what did you think of that decision from him going against, like Cam said, doctors orders? And what was at stake for him playing in this game?
You know, before I said, you know, people are hurt, they need to let people know.
But I'm not, I'm not against people playing if they're hurting, but if they're injured,
I think they don't need to be out there because sometimes you end up
causing that, that injury to go further.
You know what I'm saying?
Sometimes I've seen people with back injuries, pause that played in the NBA, hamstring injuries,
hip injuries.
And when you push those, push the body past that limit, we've seen what it did to different
players.
I don't want to say their names, but different guards that had hip injuries,
guards that have had hamstring injuries,
and you see that career gets shortened because of that.
So I'm not really a fan of people playing if they're injured.
Stats, could you repeat the question
so I'll just make sure I answer it correctly?
Yeah, so we know that he played in game seven,
despite his grade two hamstring strain that
requires weeks to heal.
So what did you think of his decision to go against doctor's orders and play in this anyways?
Well, I think like I may say the correct me Mason couldn't you know, I agree the same
thing if you hurt play if you're injured so there but I believe Aaron Gordon
Just felt first of all is two things I like what he said when they won last series
He said yeah, we want to get Russell wing a ring. They want to make sure
Russell Westwood gets a ring and that was dope from the tribes, you know, cuz he's already a champion
But I really believe if I'm not mistaken
He had dedicated this season to his brother who passed away in a car accident. So I believe, you know, he did everything in his power to be like, now we got to bring
home this championship. Sometimes people are athletes or do things that aren't necessarily for them because they want to do it
for somebody else. You know what I'm saying? I remember and this is nowhere near what he's
going through, but I remember just one about my grandmother a Rolex before I had a watch because
she took care of me all them years. And as soon as I got a record deal, I went down to Tito and got a Rolex for her before I got one for me.
So sometimes you want to do things for other people or higher power that's not necessarily
for you. Because like I said, his nephews was at the game, if I'm not mistaken, nieces or nephews,
pardon me if I got that wrong. And I know he was dedicating the season to them. So I actually salute
him for trying to get out
there and get the job done. You know, you got to think about it. He'd been having magical shit
going around him from a game, from a buzzer beater dunk to hitting the three-pointer at the buzzer,
and all that factors in. So I just want to say, you know, my prayers out to his family,
and I think Aaron Gordon had a tremendous season and then even a lot of people
didn't even know what was going on in his personal life.
And to that, I'll add, even if you're not a Denver fan, I think he personally
gained a lot of fans because he really did put his all into the season and did
what he could and was like to cams plate playing for other people and like people
didn't know what was going on behind closed doors and he never made excuses or blamed it on other people.
He was just being very resilient and like charging it to the game and just trying to
be better for the next game.
So definitely salute to him.
Not the outcome that they wanted, but this is also the game of basketball.
We see it happen.
So hopefully, you know, next year or next season they can come back stronger.
But with that being said, so after the game
in a post game interview, he was kind of talking about
just the logistics and things going on in the game.
He said, I would really appreciate
if there are a couple of days in between games
in the playoffs instead of every other day,
the product of the game would be a lot better.
You'll see a higher level of basketball,
probably less blowouts.
And as we saw from just the other games happening
in the series, a lot of three one leads, things like that, people weren't really liking how the games were
going. So after hearing that take from Aaron Gordon Mase, what do you think? Do you agree or do you disagree?
No, I don't agree with that because the team you're playing had the same amount of time you
had the rest. So it's different if they had more time than you had, but you know,
I think it's just you, you, you weren't prepared, you know, and you guys ran out of steam. And once
the Joker ran out of gas, it's just the team was going in a direction that Joker was going.
The Joker totally dominated the series. They were going to win. And because SGA dominated this series, OK, C won.
It's just that simple.
It's not that hard to figure out.
And when, when you talk about, if you had more time, yes, maybe you would have
played better, but the team that beat you was already playing better.
That's why they beat you by 20 and beat you by 20 again.
You know?
Yeah, I agree with Mase. I don't think it should be more time.
What it is is that take care of your business early because OKC did have more rest because they finished early.
When you finish early, you sit around and wait for niggas who didn't finish early.
If you go four or five games and
the person you're supposed to play goes seven games, yeah, they're going to get more time to
rest. But that's about wrapping shit up early, sitting down and getting some rest. So, you know,
Aaron Gordon, I know he's emotional right now, and I get it. But that's from having two seven game
series. Think about this, right? Golden State, pardon me, not Golden State,
Indiana wrapped up in five, New York wrapped up in six.
They don't play till Wednesday.
They didn't play till, it's gonna be like a week before
even one of them even played because they finished early.
And that's part of the scheduling.
So at the end of the day, if you finish niggas early, the more rest you get.
Pause.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then just kind of looking ahead, looking into Denver's future, are there just some
pieces that you feel like from this team that just need to be split up?
Like what are we liking?
What are we not liking from their team base?
Well, you actually got to keep Murray.
You got to keep Joker.
And I would keep Aaron Gordon as well.
But everything outside of them three is movable pieces.
I mean, if you want to bring Russell Westbrook back and win a championship for him,
I'm OK with that.
But other than them four, I would say everything else is movable ASAP you know Michael
Porter Jr. I think he put himself outside of that that grace period but I think you know because of
how he played I'm not sure what his contract is if anybody will want that normally you got to play
good for people to want to have you on their team.
I think right now anybody get Michael Porter, it will be a steal for them because I thought
he was actually a good player until this year to this year.
It really changed a lot.
And you know, you're only as good as your last game, your last outing.
That's all people really remember.
People don't remember all you used to do
if you showing them something horrible today.
And to answer your question really quick,
he signed a five-year contract in 2021
and then camped thoughts.
Well, yeah, I agree with Mase 100%,
Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, the Joker stage,
Michael Porter Jr., look, let's think about this.
Michael Porter Jr. is the number one player, if I'm not mistaken, coming out of high school. He had a real severe back injury pause,
so he didn't play or didn't do well in college. Don't misconstrue me, but this back injury derailed
his college career to being what it was supposed to be. And then he comes into the NBA and turns
into a role player on a really great team. Denver thought that too, that there was a
steal getting Michael Porter Jr. because he's supposed to be one of them niggas. He's supposed
to be one, he's supposed to be like, I'm not going to over exaggerate, but he's supposed to be a
franchise player, let's say that. And then for Denver to get him was a steal because the stop
draft dropped after this injury.
And he did really decent for the first year,
but I think he's got comfortable with falling
into being a role player, forgetting
that you were supposed to be one of them niggas.
Sometimes you'd be like, all right,
this pay the bills, I'll just be a third, fourth option.
When nah, nigga, you was here.
Look, we've got you,
cause you was one of them niggas, you got hurt.
So we thinking, okay, after he become everything,
you'll be one of them niggas.
And you turned into a role player mentally.
You don't have the, I was the best player
in high school mentality anymore.
And that's saying you're a hundred years removed from that,
but sometimes it's a mentality
and you don't seem to have that mentality,
Michael Porter Jr. I'm talking to.
So yeah, he's movable and not only him,
they have to get a bench.
They gotta get seven, eight players, bro.
You know, you need three decent players
to come off the bench just to sustain. You know, we think about Denver's bench. We've seen a couple people come off the bench and play
good the last couple games, but they're not really being subbed in, even to the point where
the jokers actually subbing in Deandre Jordan. The jokers subbed him in a couple games. You,
yo, get up. Yo, come here. They have to figure out what their
benches and I know right now is nobody in the world happier than Mike Malone.
For sure. Okay. So we got to get into our underdog picks of the day because we're going to look ahead
to y'all's team. The Knicks for now.
Yeah, the Knicks will play the Pacers on Wednesday.
Underdog has Hallibur in at four and a half rebounds.
You have them higher or lower Mace.
That's a good question.
That's a good question.
I'm going to go four and a half.
I'm going to go lower.
Okay, I'm going lower. Yeah, I'm going to go lower. Okay.
I'm gonna lower.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm gonna go lower as well.
Okay, Jalen Brunson's at 39 and a half points, rebounds and assist young, higher, lower cam.
Higher.
Higher.
Okay, and Kat Mase is at one and a half assists young higher or lower.
Hi. Hi.
Okay, make sure you download the underdog app and you can make your picks too. So we might as well do a preview.
Looking ahead. How do you guys see this series going base? Not sure who wins it, but it's one and six.
I definitely believe it's one and six.
I think people are overestimating
what the series is gonna turn into.
It should be fireworks, but history says six.
Yeah, I don't know.
Like I said, I want the next one. Let's be, let's
not get this fucked up. But I'm gonna be honest with you right now. Let me give some advice
to people. If you're not from New York and you are tourists, be careful. Be careful right
now. It's, it's, it's bad. They not not police can't control the situation other people i see somebody
walking with an indiana jersey and got hit in the head with a garbage can wow matter of fact
nick let's i'm gonna let's shoot the show the footage real quick
let's i'm gonna let's shoot the show the footage real quick
oh
now you gotta up jet 500 boys i'm causing a scene
oh actually don't do that kids there's a lot of people there am i never
yes big ass
I think I have a shitloads of kids. And he's aggott em.
Nah, it's cause he went on the paces like...
This was going on!
Yo!
Be careful!
Yo fam, be careful man!
They hit niggas with...
Yo, New York is not the place to be.
And let me tell you something else.
If you're not from New York,
and you can't even have an objective opinion,
somebody said, yo, yo, congratulations to the Knicks, else. If you're not from New York and you can't even have an objective opinion. Somebody
said, yo, yo, congratulations to the Knicks. Y'all are a good team, but you got to be
careful with the paces. And he said, yo, why don't you put, and pause this, but this is
what they said. And he said, yo, why don't you put my balls on a bacon, egg and cheese
and take that to the face, punk? This is what's going on. Niggas don't want to hear nothing else. So I'm going to go with the next and six.
I really can't come back.
This is, this is just, this is great.
Like not even knowing that you guys are going to be wearing this, like getting you guys' predictions for the game.
Like I just know this is great.
Like this is a beautiful sight. To Cam's point, because I have to add it,
they even ran up on Brian Winhorse. So for those who don't know, he's a very casual reporter on ESPN
and he's had some things to say about the mix. Guy asked him, like, how are you feeling about
the series? Who's going to win? They were like, I don't care, Nixon six, like yelling in his face.
And why did you, that guy's very to himself.
See, let me hold on, hold on real quick.
Start telling you the PG version.
He said, fuck you niggas, suck my dick.
Pause.
He told Michael Wentworth, this on the street.
Right, Wentworth, yes.
Where Wentworth, Wentworth, Wentworth,
you know my slang, yo.
They told him this on the street.
Suck my dick. Fuck your opinions.
Yeah. Be careful.
Nobody is safe. Nobody is safe except y'all, of course. But this is hilarious. I'm here for it.
Okay. And then we got to look at Timberwolves versus OKC. Mace is a movie in store. How we feeling?
Mace is a movie in store. How are we feeling?
Timberwolves and OKC.
I think that is a phenomenal series.
I think that's the one to determine
who's the face of the NBA.
The new face of the NBA comes out of Paul's,
the series of OKC in Minnesota.
I know the young boy say he doesn't wanna be the face,
but pause, this is what it comes down to.
We will know who's the best guard
out of the West after this.
And I think Ant-Man has something to say about it.
I don't think Ant-Man is gonna lay down, he can't.
I totally agree, man.
This is for all the marbles right here.
The two young best niggas, supposed to be,
it's on the table.
It ain't stuff against LeBron.
It ain't the whoever's older or whoever's older
in the league, Kevin Durant versus whoever,
this is the two young stars that the young niggas is on
and they looking up to.
Who's gonna come out this series victorious, man?
But what I will say is thinking about both these series,
so far, the trade between Minnesota and New York
has been working out for both teams.
Even though Minnesota was at the conference finals last year, it's still looking really
good.
Now imagine that.
Imagine Minnesota versus New York in the championship after this trade.
That'll be crazy, man.
That'll be crazy.
So I don't, still I got to see the first game. I ain't even gonna see her hold you and act like I know we're gonna win. But this should be a phenomenal series. If I got to give the edge to somebody, I'm going to give it to Minnesota only because of the rest they've been rusting. They went they got they should done in five games. Oklahoma City, even though they young, the seven games should may not mean a lot to them. Them niggas is young and ready to go.
But if I got to give an edge to somebody,
I'm going to give it to Minnesota at the moment
because of how Julius Randall has evolved
in these playoffs as well.
This is a perfect series actually.
I mean, you got, you got, you got SGA against Anthony Edwards.
You got even off the bench.
You got DiVincichenzo against Caruso.
You got, you got Rudy go beer against check.
You know what I'm saying?
This is like, this is like a really good matchup.
I think Randall makes the difference though.
I don't think they have somebody on old Casey that could check Randall.
And I think he makes the difference.
Well, what I'll say to that is I agree with you, Mace,
but what we've seen in the series from time to time,
the coach makes, he puts in his own twin towers
when you got Shet and Harstine on the floor at the same time.
So we'll see what that's gonna look like,
because if you got Shet and Harstine on the floor at the same time. So we'll see what that's going to look like. Because if you got check and hard sign on the floor at the same time, that may offset
that.
But I agree with you.
Julius Randall will be the difference maker if Minnesota wants to win.
I will say we are just literally in the middle of the new hotness takeover, whether people
want to believe it or not.
Is Gimbal crazy?
Is Gimbal scary?, it's getting real scary
because it's time y'all,
and we're seeing it right before our eyes.
So just keep that in mind
when you guys are watching these games
and the best will come up on top.
Who do you got, Stat?
Who do you got?
It's like, so for the game seven, I predicted,
okay, see, Timberlake, this is a good matchup. Ah, it's like, so for the game seven, I predicted OKC.
Timberwolves, this is a good matchup.
And I just feel like Ant-Man might have more of that oomph.
I don't know, I think I'm going with the Timberwolves.
That's hard though, because of the way OKC's been playing,
but I think that they gonna sneak up on people.
See, let me say this.
So for now, that's my guess.
Yeah, I'm not mad at that.
I'm not mad at either choice, but what I will say is this.
See, Anthony Edwards is very explosive.
When he got 40, you know he got 40.
When he got 36, you know he got 36.
But it's been a couple of times that he's had 17, that he's had 19.
SGA, unless he's on the bench because they blowin blowing niggas out, 30 piece, 35 consistently.
He may get 21, 22 because they up 20
and they sit them down.
So he ain't gotta play that much.
When he plays the full game,
it is a hundred percent guarantee,
30, 35 points, man, consistently.
I think he, if I'm not mistaken,
he led the league in scoring this year. So
sometimes it's like this, man. You could, you could, you could, you could get killed by a lion or
you could get venom from a rattlesnake. It's one or the other. I never know what you're going to
get. Last thing I'll add is Thunder hasn't won an NBA title since 1979, Knicks haven't won since 73, and Pacers and Timberwolves have not won one at all.
So there's a lot at stake for all four teams.
All good stories.
We'll see who comes out.
And to be honest with you, let me ask you a question, Mason.
Don't answer the question, Mason.
I'm asking a stat.
What was the team called when they won the championship? OKC. The Supersonics.
OK.
OK.
Oh.
Duh.
Duh.
You caught one eye.
Yeah.
I'm part of New Honest too.
Look, we got to, she got one. You caught one eye. Yeah. I'm part of New Hotness too.
Look, we got a, we got a.
You caught that.
The game got a kick.
Wait, I don't know for y'all.
Zucchito, zucchito, zucchito.
Okay, y'all, that is all the time that we have for today.
Thank y'all for watching.
And as always, it is what it is. What you want nigga? Everything nigga supersized Two big necks
Like when they doin' them two for five
