Starting point is 00:01:15 Trista, how you doing? Killer, what's going on, man? I'm good, man. Oh, it's going good in the sports world. You know, we're back. I heard, I heard, I heard, I heard, Tidal Town has found a new destination. Oh, that's what they're saying. The portal was open.
Starting point is 00:01:36 You know, the portal was open. Who's they? Yeah, who is they? Yeah. What's going on, Trista? Oh. What do you mean the portal? They told you the portal was open, right?
Starting point is 00:01:53 Everybody's in the portal. Stats in the portal. Killers in the portal Mike. I'm not in the portal. I'm not in the portal. I'm not in the portal. Even Arabia is in the portal.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Everybody's in the portal besides myself. I'm, you know. Your ten toes down. Hey. Yeah, I mean, why should I move, you know? Why should I move? Hands on entertaining it. I'm not going to entertain it.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Trista is not even going to entertain it. We will see you. where Title Town ends up. Because Trista, we're all confused, honestly. It's... I'm surprised he didn't come in an American flag colors for the Patriots. The underdogs that are the New England Patriots. It's in the glasses, but it's in the workings.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Now you're giving him ideas. It's too early for this. Red, right and the blue. Trista, your skin is glowing. What you've been doing? Just staying in the sun. Portland is the sunniest place, I think, right now in the country. Everybody else is getting hit with snow.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I think it might be these lights, though. I honestly think it's like a little bronzer and a little lights. Oh, yeah. It got you looking, you know, very, how do you call it, Aramaic? What? Well, I'll say, trustee, you look great. look great, okay? I have a man, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Well, Trista, you look great. We're glad to have you back. We got a lot of basketball to talk about today, but first, we're going to start with Chador. So Chador has been added to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement. So the original AFC quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl were Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Drake May. So we know with Drake May off to the Super Bowl, there's one spot open for a new
Starting point is 00:04:02 quarterback in these games. Krista, how do you feel about Shador being a replacement? Well, first and foremost, for a fifth round pick to be added to the Pro Bowl when a lot of people, when Shadur was drafted, didn't think he would make a single start is phenomenal. But the Pro Bowl is dead, y'all. Like, it's dead. Because in order for us to get to Shadur, other quarterbacks like Lamar. had to have turned it down. Like Trevor Lawrence had a better season, he turned it down.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Aaron Rogers, C.J. Stroud, nobody wants to go to the Pro Bowl anymore except for, I guess, Josh Allen, because he's probably never going to win a Super Bowl, so he needs to stack up as many accolades as he can. So congratulations to Chodor, but I wonder how many people turned the Pro Bowl selection down before they got to him. Well, I think it's phenomenal. You know, I heard killers say something once in a while ago. You know, he talked about that, you know, luck is a part of design, right?
Starting point is 00:05:18 That this is where he was meant to be. He was meant to be in the Pro Bowl. They did everything to keep them out of it, and they still landed in his lap. Pause, this is what they mean. Pause, when they say the cream rises to the top. Look at there. This is his rookie year.
Starting point is 00:05:34 What better way to end your rookie career? I mean, your rookie season with being in a pro bowl. I think it's phenomenal for him. It's another thing to add to his repertoire and add to his legacy that I was a pro bowler in my rookie year. Yeah, it's a great stat. It's a really, really good stack that after his resume. But this, and Shadoo is my nephew, D, my big brother, my uncle. I spoke to D.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I spoke to him to him a day before yesterday. So they did some bullshit. It's some bullshit. They're playing games. I don't know what. I don't even know what games these is. I have no idea. And I made some great points. It is definitely great to add on to your resume.
Starting point is 00:06:23 But what are they basing this off of? It can be wins. It can be yours. We just named Trista. Who is the quarterback's the quarterback's stat that made it to the pro bowl? outside of your door. Who's the quarterback?
Starting point is 00:06:37 The ones that were selected, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Drake made. So C.J. Strattler is not going to the pro one. No. And Lamar Jackson's not going to the pro bono.
Starting point is 00:06:52 No. Justin Herbert? Yep. Justin Herbert is going? Yes. Okay. Well, a fact, let me just pull this up.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Let me... So what about Matthew Stafford? NFC. And he's an MFC, pardon me. He's an MFC, pardon me. The point being is I'm trying to look at the AOC list. They're playing games. It's two things.
Starting point is 00:07:23 I don't know if Trista's right, but it sounds right. People may be turned it down or they know who's going to bring the money. That's one thing you should do is going to bring as a crowd. It's going to sell jerseys, it's going to sell tickets, and so on and so forth. But at the end of the day, what are they basing this all for? I'm willing to go. I think this whole year
Starting point is 00:07:41 has just been a travesty rally doing by my nephew, Doug. I think it's fucked up. But for him to go to the Pro Bowl now, I don't even know what to call it because I'm happy he's going, but what is it based off? It can't be based off the team
Starting point is 00:07:57 winning the record, anything like, what is this based off? I don't know. Maybe Trista's right. Maybe people are turning it down, but to me it also seems like We need, you know, I'm not saying don't go. I'm just so conflicted about this. I'm not saying don't go.
Starting point is 00:08:13 But is y'all using me to sell tickets? If you're going to use me yourself tickets, use me in the regular season to sell tickets, not just because somebody is hurt. I think this is about Tristan is right. This shit is dead. They play what they're playing. You went last year. They're playing flag football now, right?
Starting point is 00:08:30 They're not even tackling niggins no more. A niggins ain't tackling niggas no more. The shit is whack. But they use this should do it. because they know the people love him. He'll sell tickets and more people will probably come if he's there. Where's the Pro Bowl like? Where's that?
Starting point is 00:08:45 San Francisco. He got the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl same place. Yeah, they're using his daughter to sell tickets. I'm happy he's gone. I love him, you know. I spoke to him a few weeks ago, spoke to Deiong a few days ago. Very good for the Sanders family. But they're using this for selling tickets or people even turn the opportunity there.
Starting point is 00:09:06 And I'd rather him go, and he deserves to go. And they get them a fierce shake in the regular whole season. I don't even know what to call this shit as soon as why. I mean, when you think about it, yeah, go ahead. Go ahead. You go. Oh, I was just going to say, like, to your point, Cam, I think another thing that you can say, like, nobody's really wanting to watch the Pro Bowl.
Starting point is 00:09:27 So you have, like, the group of people who watch something because they love it. And you also have the people who watch to try to prey on people's downfalls. Like Jake Paul, when he was coming up and trying to fight, there was a lot of people watching his fights because they were hoping he would get knocked out. And that happened pretty much all the way until he got knocked out. So I think there might even be the opportunity for them, the NFL, to try and capitalize on that fan base, well, like a select part of the NFL fan base that really doesn't like Shadour and wants to like, it's like almost rage bait for them. and they're going to be talking about it on the internet, and they're going to be tuning in, not just because there's a group that loves him, which there is.
Starting point is 00:10:16 And he definitely is, like, box office, and there's a large contingency of people who want him to succeed. But there's also another contingency that want him to fail. That's a really great point. I can see that. People, you know, typing about it, you know, writing about it all week long, like, how dare he make a pro bowl? What about Trevor Lawrence?
Starting point is 00:10:38 He's not hurt. What about, you know, C.J. Straud, he's not hurt. And I could just hear that. And then other people in the barbers shop, like, what do you want them to do? Let Aaron Rogers playing the Pro Bowl, you know, and that conversation, you're right, killer, both of you are right. It makes more people want to watch it just to see what does he do. But if it's flag football, he got to do well. You don't have to worry about getting hit.
Starting point is 00:11:04 And that's pretty much been the only thing that really hurt him. year is people getting to him cause too fast, but he doesn't have to worry about getting it. So he can even bring more brand opportunities because he could wear his watch. He can do Shador time. You know, it's flag football. So it could be really interesting. Shit is trash, bro. And since, you just said people want to see him feel. Failed it flag football? Okay. He didn't play good They didn't snatch his flag off his waist
Starting point is 00:11:43 Pause Like what are we talking He failed They kept snatching his flag What are we talking about? Like, shit, it's fucked up Like I said, I don't know the answer But it's fucked up
Starting point is 00:11:57 That's I want him to make it When he deserves to make it And he definitely will be one of the players That deserve to make it But this wasn't a pro bowl year for him. And I'm not saying that's his fault. Y'all look at that whole situation in Cleveland. Whole shit was a shit show.
Starting point is 00:12:14 None to the fault of Shador. Just the whole organization handled the situation wrong. Well, when it's your dad that gets you in the league, we call it nepotism, right? What do we call this? What's the name for this, Trista, Killer. What's the name for this when people are just putting you out there? but they're actually putting you out there to fail, but they keep putting you in position.
Starting point is 00:12:40 What is that called? It's like a clout chase, I think. You know, they're like trying to, if it's not because all of these quarterbacks turned it down and they did it simply because of all of the buzz around Chador, then, you know, they're trying to capitalize off of the cloutlet is Chador. They're trying to, you know, ladder climb as a very opportunity. Blue.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Well, I don't know what to call it what I like the way they use the niggins. Yeah. I don't like it. Yeah, the whole concept around even just the media's reactions and Mace, you kind of brought it up. You were saying people are going to start doing this. People have already started.
Starting point is 00:13:26 You already know how the internet be when they see somebody get something and they just want to say a whole lot of things. So I'm just saying my congratulations because, I mean, I know people feel certain types of way about it, but somebody out there and even kids, like, people still, there are a group of people who do enjoy watching it. So if it's an opportunity and a resume builder, I'll just take it as that. I still think Shador is blessed and highly favored.
Starting point is 00:13:49 So you take this, charge it to the game and keep it pushing. So shout out to him. But we were talking about the Pro Bowl, right, which at one point was, I feel like such an honor. And there's another event out here that I want us to talk about because that's kind of changed its popularity over the years, which brings us to the dunk contest. So when speaking on if he would participate in the NBA dunk contest, VJ Edgecombe said, I ain't doing that. Nah, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:14:15 And also Mack McClung, who has won it multiple times in a row, has also decided to not participate in the contest. So Trista, why do you think players nowadays are so uninterested in the dunk contest? And is there anything that you think that could be done to kind of revive it and bring that spark back? I don't think you can save it, guys. don't. I think you could take it back to, really, this is around the internet and how prevalent all of these dunks are from these pro dunkers that we can see over and over again. When the dunk contest was popping, this was like the only opportunity that you got to see high-level dunks from top-tier talent. And at that point, even in the 90s, when I was growing up really loving the dunk contest, it was
Starting point is 00:15:06 not just an honor. It was like the only opportunity for everyone in the country to come together and watch all of these players compete against each other. The NBA was still rocking with tape delay. Like if Dominique Wilkins threw down an in-game dunk, probably the people in Atlanta knew about it, but the rest of the country didn't know about it. There were no highlights to show you. Yeah, you had maybe SportsCenter, but at the end of the day, only a small group where now you're on Instagram, you're on TikTok. You can see people like everybody hates Chris who's doing dunks that Anthony Edwards would have to try 10,000 times. And he just doesn't have the time to do that. So I think it like really comes down to the prevalence of how easy it is to get better dunks and how
Starting point is 00:15:57 these guys are making $450 million over their contract. They don't want to lose out on the next contract by getting hurt. You don't want to get made fun of like Jalen Brown did when he wore the glove and he missing. There's only downside to the dunk contest now. I don't think there's really anything that you can do to save it, though. Well, I think actually there are things that could bring the dunk contest back. I think actually if they were to let LeBron, if LeBron was to get in the dunk contest at
Starting point is 00:16:31 this age, there would be anticipation to see, okay, what is. exactly what he doing this dunk contest. And I think that would be a hot way pause to go out. If you put Jai in it, you can amp this up. There's people that could bring a lot of flair to this dunk contest. If Zion was there, Zion, you know, Jod, the usual suspects, Anthony Edwards, like you said. But now they got kids going pause under the legs, reverse dunk.
Starting point is 00:17:04 It's like the dunks that they're doing now, you're right. They would have to practice. But I remember people had a love for the craft. When they had a love for the craft, you wanted to be the best at everything. Now it's like, I made enough money, so I don't really want to do much of anything. And that's just kind of the vibe that you get from the NBA is what you're getting from the Pro Bowl. All of this is synonymous. It goes hand in hand.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Once people start making a certain amount of money, if they was raised, the love, the money and love what the sport could do for them, more than they love the sport, this is just what you're going to get. I think that time has sailed where people just want to be the best at what they're doing. I think from the time they're young, they just raised up thinking, how do I get a bag? And once people start getting a bag, it's just not worth anything to be in a dunk contest. I hear us talking about people getting hurt. How do you get hurt in a dunk contest? It's like killer was talking about flag football. How do you get hurt in flag football?
Starting point is 00:18:09 I don't know. You have to be pretty clumsy or try to be doing too much to end up getting hurt in the dunk contest. But I think they're just making way too much money and they're uninterested. But if they start having baddies come, that could help the dunk contest. If you start giving free tickets to the baddies,
Starting point is 00:18:30 they'll come to the dunk contest. Cam. was just real quick for I jumping on the on the dunk contest. The Pro Bowl has lost over 10 million views viewership in the last 14 years and it's going down even more because that it was like some people
Starting point is 00:18:51 want to watch it. I believe 10 million people curved in the last 10 years and it's going down every year when I'm looking at right now since 2013. It's at an all-time low. Now brings your door in when it's at an all-time low. time low. That's why I've been. Like, the, this is like, the lowest it's ever been last year ever.
Starting point is 00:19:15 And now, yo, go get your door. Like, yo, what is that? What is that? That's, yo. That ain't wild murder? Yeah, that's crazy. Like, come on, man. Come on.
Starting point is 00:19:27 That's crazy. It's like they have a flood at the Gramies. They ask you do you want to perform. Now you want me to perform? Yeah. Yeah, now you want me to perform. She was like 10 million, 13 million views like 10 years ago. She'd go down there just six years ago, eight million last year, which 4.7, the lowest in history now calls your door.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Sorry, I was stuck on that. I had to get the numbers. You got to start showing why I think this is doing shit, man. Back to the dunk contest. Sorry. I heard everything stat, I mean, pardon me that Mesa, Trista said, but what's the exact question, that so I answer it correctly. Yeah, basically, Vijay Edgecombe said he's not
Starting point is 00:20:10 interested, Mack McClund's not doing it again, so why do you think there's no interest for the dunk contest and then what do you think it could revive it? Niggins like us. Niggins like me and Mace and Trista. We keep talking about what it used to be.
Starting point is 00:20:28 These niggas don't care, man. Yo, you know, Mac and Monday, Dominique Wilkins between the two-hand windmill and, yo, and Michael Jordan would jump from the fail line. And it wasn't even, it was tape delay. You had to watch it on the tape delay. And, yo, niggas, shut up. Oh, niggas, shut out.
Starting point is 00:20:49 I don't want to do all that, man. Well, good for y'all. I'm glad you had to watch it the way you watch. Ooh, I'm glad Michael Jordan jumped from the foul line. Congratulations. I'm glad that the best way. I don't want to do all that. I don't want to do what y'all niggins was doing.
Starting point is 00:21:03 I think that's what it is. the more than niggas say how niggas used to do this and used to do that and want to be this. I think it turns niggins on even more. Like, yo, that was good for y'all niggas, man. Now I'm really not doing it. I think when you keep mentioning John Morant name anybody, I'm talking about me including. You keep mentioning their name, niggins like, now I'm really not doing it. I don't want to do nothing them niggas was doing.
Starting point is 00:21:31 That's how I really feel about it. Because we always, not just us, people bring it up. Yo, you know, Michael Jordan, he was a defensive player of the year, and won the championship, and was the All-Star MVP, and won the dunk contest. Good for Mike. That's how they feel. Yeah, good for Mike, man. Good for Mike.
Starting point is 00:21:53 And don't give me wrong murders 100% right. Money play into this. Money plays into this, but money play into anything. And Mesa tell you that. Mace, let me ask you this. You got a record deal. Why you stop playing basketball seriously? Why don't want to play basketball no more?
Starting point is 00:22:10 He lost love. Why you go back to college with the deal and say, fuck it. I just want to be on the team with $5 million. So it's a lot of like this. It's people. That's a good question. It's people. That's just because you knew you figured out where the money was at.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah. You're like, yo, this is where the money at. Nick, listen, I like basketball, too. You know, we growing up, we don't realize we're too short to really play. We thought we did it. Looking back on it. But niggas was trying to make money off that joint. I remember then called me to play one-on-one.
Starting point is 00:22:49 I get out of my bed two in the morning and go play a nigger one-on-one for $60. I'm just telling you everything about the money. But to Mesa's point, some niggas get it, and then they be, like I'm cool with what I got, but some niggas get money and want more money. Or if I keep doing this and keep doing this, I get more. That's the real hunger when you get money and want to keep your money. It's not, and this, you know, I heard this growing up. I'm not going to sit here and act like it's all true because it's not easy to get money.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But niggins will tell you it's easy to get money and it's hard to keep it. There's a lot of niggas I know, not just sports. I'm talking about general. They'll get money and then they'll spend their money. and then ask you for more money and then you'd be like, yo, where's the money I gave you? I spent it.
Starting point is 00:23:36 You got to put away your money, man. You can't just be spending it. I tell you guys, don't count no money till it's in your pocket. Niggas be in intensity sports contracts. I'm just down in the street shit and a whole bunch of other shit. Do not count no money till it's in your pocket
Starting point is 00:23:50 thinking that some money's going to come and it don't come. I don't count no money till it's in my pocket. But to me, everything is about the money. And if it ain't, go tell you live, Lord, you love him and give him a hug and see if he let you stay next month. Well, what do you think about if it was all baddies' front row?
Starting point is 00:24:10 You don't think if they let the baddies front row? It seemed like guys really get up for that. They're going to get up and not dunk the ball. They might show up. They're coming to dunk. They're going to put on the fucking best outfit they can find and sit next to the baddies. And why some other niggas don't. They think they too cool for school.
Starting point is 00:24:30 It's not like niggins won. You got all the bad things. bitches there you want. But the niggins go try and throw all they motherfuckersieger, you know, motherfucker talk for it, whatever they want throw their one and sit next to the bitches and want somebody else get it. That's just my opinion. They're not trying to show off for the bitches at the All-Star game no more. I think we've seen it, like you see said murder, we've seen a lot of shit. So when shit ain't like it used to be, we start complaining. But these
Starting point is 00:25:00 niggas ain't seen nothing. So this is their beginning of their early life teenagers and 20-year-old or something else in their 20s. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. One day they'll go back and say, one day they'll go back and say when the dunk, trust me, he'll come around again another generation and everybody wanted to do it again, maybe like 10, 15 years. And they'd be like, yeah, he wasn't doing all that dunk contest shit. Oh, well, fuck you old niggas. They're going to be go too. It's just the way to go. And new young I'm like, well, we're doing it.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Everything comes full circle. Yeah, I agree with you. I agree with you that is really you and Trista. It's people like y'all that messed it up. I don't really think it's me because when I see people, they always tell me, yo, tell killer, chill out,
Starting point is 00:25:50 man. So I agree with you a little bit, you know? I'm in the portal. You're just a basic thing. I'm in the portal. makes you just said three weeks ago somebody ran down on you for not picking the team they want and now's me is it us or is it me well they started talking to me about me but when i got to the bottom of it pauses they was talking about you you know i'm in the portal camp yeah the thing
Starting point is 00:26:20 but it is it's a not for an eye you know we're in this together we're in this together but if i'm telling you the truth. Tell them to keep talking about me because I'm not here to be nobody's friend. I'm here to tell niggas what's going on. I'm not here to be. I'll tell you strapping down. We can be cool. I'll be cool what I need.
Starting point is 00:26:40 But I'm not here to be your friend. I'm here to tell it like it is. I'm just that. You hear that chatting TSA? You heard it from him. Chat and TSA. From New York. heard it from killer yourself.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Every time I go through TSA, stop me, yo, what's so? What's your with killer, man? I say, kill her, chilling, man. Killer, chill out, man. So you heard it for yourself. Yeah, I'm not here for friends. I hear it, too.
Starting point is 00:27:14 I got mad at me last week. I see a nigga. He's like, yo, you think my beers got a chance against the Rams? I said, yeah, they got a chance. He said, you think they're going to win? I said, no. He said, well, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:27:26 I said, look, you're like, You asked me a question. I said they got a chance. You can't force me to tell you I'll change the way. That's fucked up. We playing at home. It's going to be cold. You'll get your food.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Let me get my food. You go and enjoy the game. Be on the hour. They end up losing. I told you, the nigga from howl's chicken. It's crazy. Does that happen to you sat?
Starting point is 00:27:49 You're saying from Hound or something, my guy. Y'all got people mad at me by default. People are still mad at me about the Miami game, and I didn't even go. You didn't go. You're like, well, maybe you should have been there. Maybe you, I'm like, damn. If I wasn't sick, it would be a different situation.
Starting point is 00:28:05 But yes, KM got people still on my ass about that. Like, I could directly influence that. I thought you was in the building. There's people that you were in the building, but, you know, I didn't see a picture, so I don't know. But people try to say you was in the building. I don't know. That's the rumor in Miami. Statt was in the building.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Definitely wouldn't see a picture still. But, you know, shout out to Miami. me. Okay, so let's get to the All-Star Star Star Starter. So they've been announced, and LeBron James was not named a starter. So for the West, it's Yokic, Luca, SGA, Steph, and Wembe. So Trista, how do you feel about LeBron not being named a starter? Because of course, a lot of people are real mad about that. But what do you think? Yeah, I ain't feeling it. There's a lot of, yeah, anybody who's mad about LeBron not being an All-Star starter is just a LeBron super fan, truthfully.
Starting point is 00:28:58 He's not an all-star starter this year. Who are you going to replace him with? Like, who is he coming in for? I guess the question that I would say is, should have Yokic been named a starter when we know he's not going to play in the game? Even if Yokic is 100% healthy, he's going to play like six minutes
Starting point is 00:29:18 and give you three points. He doesn't even care about the game. So we know he's not healthy. He's already missed 15 games. But I know Mace, see, here's a thing. I know this topic is baiting us, is baiting Mace to go on like a LeBron, like have his like little torch and come out and stump for LeBron. So I know that's where this is going.
Starting point is 00:29:42 But LeBron should not be a starter. He's at the tail end of this career. Luke is already there to have a team with multiple NBA All-Star starters. You have to be a lot better than the Lakers are. So no, I'm fine with it. I would rather have Denny Abdiah be an NBA All-Star starter over LeBron this year. That's crazy, Trista. Now, you know what's even crazier that you think I'm going to be out here with a torch for LeBron?
Starting point is 00:30:11 I'm normally the person not going with LeBron, but I think for legacy's sake, it's been so many years, LeBron was a, you know, a starter. It just looked crazy that on his last couple of years, you're not going to have. throw it in there. You, pause. We're giving participation awards out. Nah, but this is, this is LeBron.
Starting point is 00:30:33 This is like magic with HIV. You got to put magic as a lot of. You can bring magic off the bitch. I don't care. I'm one of those people who was a Laker fan until LeBron got there, right? I'm switching the team. I'm going to go back to the Lakers when LeBron leaves.
Starting point is 00:30:52 But I think for legacy's sake, got to put LeBron in the starters. Who could you take out? Let's think about it. You can take Steph out. Steph is just about as old as LeBron. Not there, but, I mean, you don't got Kevin Durant in the starting five, so why not just put, you know, curve to the bench and let LeBron start.
Starting point is 00:31:19 You can't move SGA. You cannot move Luca. And Steph won't care about it. That's why I say Steph, not that Steph doesn't belong in the starting five, but for LeBron's legacy, I think Stefan Curry is such a nice guy. He'll probably say, hey, LeBron, take my spot. He doesn't care about it. So if he doesn't care, Trista, why would you care about it?
Starting point is 00:31:43 I think LeBron should be a starter. I'm just going on a record. LeBron, Rich Paul, make a call, man. They got to put LeBron's start line up. They don't even look right. This is crazy. Did you say Denny Abia? Yeah, she's wild.
Starting point is 00:32:04 She's wild. She's been in Portland. She in Portland. I see what she's doing there. She's doing. She's on some homeless. Denny Abia is averaging 27 points, eight rebounds,
Starting point is 00:32:16 eight assists. Yeah, they're paying us. You guys are sleeping on deck. I'm not, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be there. But above LeBron is wild. I'm not agreeing with Mace Neville, but what I will say is this.
Starting point is 00:32:31 You're not agreeing with me, Killer? No, no. It's not like he's saying put Brony in the All-Star game. Put LeBron in the All-Star. I was about to come to your defense. I was saying I was about to Tristan. I was about to Tristan,
Starting point is 00:32:49 Mace always goes against LeBron on this show. This is the first time I actually heard the niggins support in LeBron. in any type of way to be honest with you. I've never heard it before in this show. So I will say that. But I thought this, I just looked at it and then I heard you said, I thought it was America a versus the world or some shit.
Starting point is 00:33:14 How is Wemby on the start? What's going on there? Is it America versus the world or die? So, yeah, they still have USA versus World. So it will feature the format two teams. and then the international players and then the U.S. players, but they're still having their all-star starters and then reserves. So they're still going to have that game.
Starting point is 00:33:35 I'm lost. This is, dude, yeah, I'm lost, too, man. This is what I'm trying to say. Like, yo, is it the World versus All-Stars or just all-the-all-star? How many games are they playing? It's one All-Star game. Yeah, so it's going to have three teens will be formed, eight-man rosters, and then two will be composed of American players,
Starting point is 00:33:55 and then the third of international players. So that's, like, it sounds hard to explain when you're verbally hearing it, but that's how the setup is. No, it's still hard because it's like playing in a park, killer where there's two courts. You need four teams, so it's a win or court and a loser. What I'm trying to say is this.
Starting point is 00:34:16 This is where I'm asking these questions. If it's America versus the world, LeBron should be started for America. When we should not even be talking about, What are the team? This is why I'm confused. I'm not talking about Win a court,
Starting point is 00:34:29 lose the court. I'm talking about what is the format? If it's America versus the rest of the world, shouldn't it be like LeBron, Steph, Anthony Edwards,
Starting point is 00:34:38 KD, whatever American Center is versus the rest of the people? What is the, how's the broad are starting? That's the format. How many games is it?
Starting point is 00:34:51 I don't get it. Yeah, it's just a world, round robin tournament three teams so two u.s one world so how was lebron not starting how's lebrana starting if he plays for america you just name luca dants right he's not from america who else is starting yeah luka yokitzsGA and wemby yeah so if that's four foreign niggas so i was lebrun not starting if it's for america i i don't look man See? Don't ask me because I'm going to tell one rival shit.
Starting point is 00:35:28 And it's just a eight-man roster. It's an eight-man roster. So it's like if the East got eight, the West got eight and then overseas got eight. So then how is he on a team with foreigners? It just don't make no sense. That's the point I'm trying to get to. I'm not even having the argument until we get to that. I'm not like, I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:35:54 So I don't have an opinion on this because if it's America versus the world, then LeBron should be started. Yeah, this is what happens when you smoke weed and come up with the format for the All-Star game. This is probably what happened. They thought about it or this is what could happen when you hear what we're saying and then try to put a spin on it. you know how niggas copy you and then try to change it a little bit at the end, pause to make it seem like they didn't copy what you said. This is what they came out with. They're just doing a lot.
Starting point is 00:36:36 They're trying to have viewership. And I totally understand your question, Cam, because it's like literally why would he not be a starter if you have listed all these international players who are playing for the West? And, yeah, this is that new format that they're testing out. So who plays first? That's a good question. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Which two teams play first? How do we know who's playing if they're saying LeBron's not a start? We can't even, I'm not saying you're wrong, but how are we going to know who's playing who if LeBraw's not starting for America and then you put him on it and you're not supposed to. Maybe he's on the foreign team. This is when niggas get disrespectful. You just come to the game.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Nigger throw you a far in the jersey. It's like, bro, you know I'm not from overseas. You niggas get this just like. Yeah, even for viewership purposes. And I totally understand even Trista, your point of saying that, who would you replace LeBron for? But it's also just hard because also just including viewership, like a lot of people obviously want to watch LeBron play.
Starting point is 00:37:40 But it's a lot. You mean who would LeBron place on that file? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Who would he technically replaced because the starters have been announced, even though it is mainly international players. Say the five again. Yeah, so Yokic,
Starting point is 00:37:52 Luca, SGA, Steph, and Wembe. What I'm saying is this. What I'm saying is this. Why are we entertaining that question if that's not the format? Why are we even entertaining this? This is what I'm trying to figure out.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Why are we entertaining LeBron? And y'all are going to entertain it more if you want? I'm out. If the format is America against the world, why are we even trying to figure out while LeBron's not starting? if it's Americans mixed with foreigners. To me, the NBA got to get it together,
Starting point is 00:38:28 and then we can answer the question. Yeah. Because it's question. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense. I'm out. Yeah. This reminds me when there's a lot of people want to play
Starting point is 00:38:39 and somebody had winners and they're making you pick niggas you don't want to pick. This is how it feels to me. Like when you... No, Mace. You know, let me break it down for you better than that, man, so you can understand. understand what's going on.
Starting point is 00:38:54 If they're saying, yo, if they're trying to say, yo, niggas, we want a team all from the Bronx. But,
Starting point is 00:39:01 Mace, you give you play point. Are you from the Bronx? You're not from the Bronx, yo. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Niggas give you a jersey
Starting point is 00:39:15 and you got BX minus on it. And they've got pictures of you in the BX jersey. It's like, Come on, man. We'll see what happens. And then the reserves will be announced later on. But on that note, we're going to go to break. When we return, we will discuss.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Wait, but who's on the other team? Other east? Janice, Jalen Brunson, Kay, Tyrese, and Jalen Brown. Batman is on there. Batman is on there. So I'm not really mad at that. But I would say this to both teams thus far. So who's on the foreigner team?
Starting point is 00:39:54 the West seemed like it's the foreigners starting five. Yeah, the foreigner team obviously includes whose majority of the West, but like I said, it's technically two USA teams, one international team. So I don't think they have that full final set roster because they still have the announced. So I get it now. I get it, killer. They hate on LeBron because the U.S., the foreigner team is the same as the West starting five. They're trying to let niggas play two games.
Starting point is 00:40:25 They're playing two games. If they're playing for the foreigner team, they're in that eight. Who's in that eight? Or the foreigner team? No, I think what is happening is there, like for prestige, you still want that, like, I became an all-star starter. I think so they have one team of East, one team of West,
Starting point is 00:40:48 and then you have the starters, quote-unquote, from each conference. And then they're going to decide, okay, we're going to pull all the foreign players. Even Donovan Mitchell says he wants to play as a foreign player. And we're going to put them on a squad. And then we're just going to fill in the east and the west with the American players. But I think just for like being written about and how you're seen, you were technically like in Wikipedia an All-Star Star Star,
Starting point is 00:41:17 because they don't have any other way to kind of like categorize this new format because it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Yeah, Trista, you just confuse me more. So who's actually on the court? Is it going to be America versus overseas or not? Because right now, okay, but they just giving you the list. They're just going to take all those West players
Starting point is 00:41:42 that were in the starting five, they're going to put them on the world. They're going to put Denny, who's probably going to be a reserve. they'll put him on the world. They'll put Janus on the world. And then all the rest of the American players will fill in and then they'll play. So probably LeBron will be a starter? Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:41:57 So will he be a starter on USA is the question. Because everybody on the East Coast, those were American players. Yeah. Do better NBA. Yeah, it's still a lot. Point blank period, it's still a lot. And everybody's just like they're hearing LeBron James is not named a starter. And why is he not?
Starting point is 00:42:19 You know? And they're going to be too small. If you, pause, you cram Stefan Curry on that list of East Coast team that already got Maxie, already got Jalen Brunson. That team is way too small. And if you add LeBron in there and now they got to play against Wembeon, they might get blown out. Pause. They might just get blown out for real. But that's also why everybody wants to play on the world team because I would want to play on that team too.
Starting point is 00:42:47 I ain't going to lie. That's crazy. We see where things are going. But, you know, it is what it is, literally. Okay, y'all. We're going to go to break. When we return, we'll discuss what's next for Janus. And is Jalen Brown, Batman, an MVP frontrunner.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Don't go anywhere. Welcome back. Now let's get into our underdog picks of the day. Tonight, the Pistons will play the Nuggets. Underdog has Cade Cunningham at 24 and a half points. Do you have them higher, lower, mace? I mean, I've been on a roll, so my answers are coming. back, you know, perfecto.
Starting point is 00:43:43 So say it again because people are counting on me. Yeah, Ced Cunningham, 24 and a half points. I'm going higher. I'm going higher. I was so right about Kobe with the seat. I was so right about Luca, man. I don't know, killer. I'm just saying what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:44:04 I'm going higher. Okay. Cam. Yeah, I'm going to higher too. Okay. Jalen Derns at 16. and a half points. Do you have them higher, lower cam? Lower.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Yeah, low. Okay, and Jamal Murray's at 26 and a half points. Do you have them higher, lower mace? Hmm. I'm going lower. I'm going to go higher. Okay. Make sure you all download the Underdog app and you can make your picks too.
Starting point is 00:44:36 So on to the bucks. They have no timetable for Janus's return as he recovers from a cash drain that's predicted to keep him out for four to six weeks. speaks Trista. Do you think he's played his last game with the Bucks and what do you think is going on over there for Yonis? I mean, I know that's what they say. That's what Mark Spears, I think, reported today. I'm just tired of the saga. I just want it to end either way. I'm just wanting them to either renew their vows or get divorced. And I definitely don't want him to sit out the rest of the season as a buck and then them trade him. in the summertime. It just kind of feels like Janice doesn't want to be the bad guy. He clearly doesn't feel all the way in and invested in being on this team.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Probably because he knows that, like, Milwaukee in general is not a great destination for free agents. They largely don't get stars. And yet he's there and wants to be seen as loyal. Meanwhile, always talking kind of slick, making like little shady, underhanded comments about how the team is playing, like going on GQ and saying, hey, if they don't surround me with talent, I want to win, I'll go somewhere else. But then at the same time, kind of talking out of both sides of his mouth and saying, hey, I would never ask for a trade.
Starting point is 00:46:02 I'm in this until they're going to have to kick me out. And ultimately, behind the scenes, I don't really know what's what. So I just want us to figure it out because I feel like we've been talking about Janus, leaving the box potentially for like three years. Wow. I would like to agree with you on that because when it comes to Yannis, you're right. Sometimes people are like that in relationships. They're not happy, but they don't want to leave either.
Starting point is 00:46:35 So sometimes it's like that. They're scared to leave. I don't know what to call it when it comes to Yonis because they've done so much, honestly, to keep them to stay. You know, they made the trade. for Damon Lilly brought him in. They just thought it was going to go much better than it went. You know, even the trades that they made when they got rid of Drew Holiday. I think a lot of these things they did to upgrade the team.
Starting point is 00:47:01 And when it didn't go well, you know, people never liked to take accountability. He had to be involved with the trade. He had to be involved with who they brought in. So I'm not thinking that somebody like Milwaukee is making these kind of deals. without Janice in the note and without him agreeing to it. And if he wants to leave, he really should say that he wants to leave. But I think Milwaukee has been really good to him. They got his brothers on the team, got, you know, different things done allegedly.
Starting point is 00:47:34 You know, this is what the streets are saying. Brought his whole family over here, got his whole family on the team. And then if you're not winning, you really can't be mad because your family is taking up two of the spots. And I say that with real respect. You know, I know his brothers can play, but if it came down to two more spots that got AJ, AJ Johnson or whatever that's playing in D.C., he was on this team. And they shipped him off for another guard spot for one of his brothers. So you can't really blame them as much as he would like to.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Yeah, I think that's spot on to be totally honest with you. I think that he wants to leave, but the Bucks organization has went far out their way, trying to make him happy. And I totally agree with me saying that he had to be part of some of those decisions. I'm not saying he was responsible for bringing Doc Rivers, but he didn't want his own coach. He got rid of that coach. They did think Damien Little was going to help. It didn't work out.
Starting point is 00:48:38 It just didn't work out. Your brothers are on the team. Both of them now. And these are things they did because they believe. that that's where they would take for you to stay. If I'm a walkie, I don't know when I'm giving up for Yannis, because not just Yonis being a great player, he has star quality. He knows how to sell it, not just a NBA star.
Starting point is 00:49:03 It's an international star. Learn English really good. Talks really, really good. Has a lot of personality. That goes into selling tickets as well. I know you're there to see a basketball game, But when you have a star-waring team, that matters. And if you just get some decent players and then you don't win,
Starting point is 00:49:24 it's going to be hard to sell tickets in Milwaukee. People like winners. Now, if you're not winning, at least you're going to see a superstar. I don't know what they'll get for Yonis. If I'm Milwaukee, I'm not just giving up anything for him. But Yonis obviously does not want to be there. I think Mason, they'll just take, hit the nail on the head. no pause exactly what he said.
Starting point is 00:49:48 And when Yonis got hurt the other day, he didn't even see the doctor yet. Yonis told the media that he's going to be out of this injury feels like four to six weeks. How the fuck Yonis know how long his injury is? The nigger ain't seen no doctorate. He said, y'all this feel about four to six weeks.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Nah, that nigger don't want to be there if he's analyzing it. You know, you say it yourself, four to six weeks? Come on, my nigger. Come on, my nigga. Come on me. Nigger then diagnosed yourself. How you diagnose yourself and say four to six weeks? Oh, maybe because the trade deadline is in two weeks.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Let me throw four to six on his ankle. If you look at that, you know, nobody's even near y'allness. Niggins just start limping. Went to the back. Trade deadline coming up. I'm like, I ain't playing no more games here, man. Trade me. And next time you see me playing, I'll be with a different organization.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Or at least that's what he's hoping. It doesn't happen. We'll get to see if I'm Milwaukee, I'm not just giving up anything. We're going to have to try and make this work. Which I don't think it will. I don't think it will, but I'm just saying you got to, Tristan said, it's not the sexiest destination in the league. For anyone.
Starting point is 00:51:02 You have somebody who's a suit, right? So you don't, so you have a superstar there. You're not going to get another superstar unless a team is tied to somebody, unless it's some John Morant trade, some shit like that. But it's going to be hard to get another superstar. You guys remember, because the thing that you mentioned about him being a star is so right, Camp. But Janus, when he got drafted, wasn't supposed to be a star. We didn't ever expect him to turn in to what he was turning into.
Starting point is 00:51:36 And right, like box office, international, does all these things. Really, like the next one up from Kareem Abdul-Dab. bar, right, when he was Louis Alcinder. He gets there and he gets paired with the team that's like a girl that's like a six. And it's like when, um, that when Jesse Williams was still a teacher and then he was with that, that ride or die girl. And he was just a teacher, just a good looking teacher. And then he gets on that hospital show. He blows up, becomes this awesome actor. And he's with a girl that's, a lot of people were kind of looking at him sidewere. way's like, oh, is this your assistant? Is this your PR woman? It's like, no, that's his wife.
Starting point is 00:52:20 And everybody's like, oh, Jesse Williams is a great guy. He stays with his ride or die, his original woman. What a good guy he is. And ultimately, that ended up breaking up as his stardom rose. I think as Janus got bigger and more stardom, he started looking around like, I am, I'm too good for Milwaukee. I should be playing in New York. I should be playing in L.A. I should plan with Steph and Golden State. And he's talked about it over and over floating those specific teams, Miami as well, sexier destinations.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Meanwhile, he tells the media, oh, I'm a loyal guy. I love Milwaukee. I don't want to leave while kind of like underhandedly setting things up to try to get Milwaukee to leave him, making it a very uncomfortable situation while they've been bending over backwards.
Starting point is 00:53:11 They know that they'll never get another Janus in the next 25 years. so they've mortgaged their whole franchise and the future of that for trading for Drew multiple first round picks, Dame multiple first round picks, just doing anything they can to make Yannis happy. This is bad.
Starting point is 00:53:33 This is bad. It's like, because when you've been in Milwaukee, you know how much Paul's hangs on Yonis being there. The city will lose like, they will lose just as much money as remember Cleveland killer when LeBron left Cleveland it was like jobs will be lost like this is not a city like that that that's why I said this is bad because I'm thinking about jobs downtown he plays into the whole city like there's going to be a lot of money lost if he leaves that city and that's really crazy to think about it's beyond basketball is the bars is it's the transportation it's It's the parking.
Starting point is 00:54:18 It's the hotels. Janice is like a real staple in that in that city. It would be catastrophic. It would be like when LeBron left in his jersey and all of that. Without even the press conference, it'll be the same way. The whole thing about it is this. And this is what I'm trying to explain to you. Not to explain to you guys.
Starting point is 00:54:42 I'm just saying in general. Milwaukee, you got to get something back. And it's not going to be a Janus. Trista just said, but my thing is this, if I'm a walkie, I've done all this for you. And like Trista said, you may outgrown or your star may out shine your high school girlfriend or however you put it. But, nigger, if we're going to get divorced, I'm getting mine. Y'all is assigned through, that's how I go. I'm going to get mine, y'am. You're getting divorced. Give me mine and go be in the world.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Yon is assigned through 26 through 27 with a player option 2728. You ain't going nowhere this year. Throw your tantrum. Figure it out. And no, unless I get something crazy to trade that line, you're going to be here again in October, nigga. Fuck is you talking about. You're under contract.
Starting point is 00:55:33 You can try that James Hard and shit all you want. This is Milwaukee. You're not going nowhere. That would be me from Milwaukee front office. Until I get something crazy. I'm not forces. you're not forcing away out of here. Milwaukee, nigga.
Starting point is 00:55:47 You're going to hurt the economy murder set. Yeah, I like that. Pause, for real, because that's what's going to happen. It's too much money going to be lost. You know what I'm saying? He's like, yo, this is not going to end well. We got to fix this. He is probably going to keep getting creative, though,
Starting point is 00:56:04 with the ways to try to get him out. Because literally, like, Cam said, him saying, like, man, this feels about four to six weeks or, like, doing stuff to the camera and things like that. Yeah, but what does this mean for? his brothers. Do you kick all of them out? Like, you know, you know when your brother leave. Every is a crazy Eddie cell. Everything must go. Everybody got to go. Well, we will see what happens. Okay. So moving along, people are discussing their picks for MVP and Chris Bosch believes Jalen Brown
Starting point is 00:56:37 deserves serious consideration. He said, can we give Jalen Brown some credit? He should be MVP. I think he's the frontrunner, in my opinion. He's playing amazing basketball. Nobody slotted Boston to be second and Jalen to be playing the way he is. Trista. Do you agree? A thousand percent.
Starting point is 00:56:57 A thousand percent. When we saw Jason Tatum go down with that injury, this was supposed to be a gap year for Boston. This was like, oh, look at all of the talent in college and see if you can get an AJ DeBanza or Darren Peterson
Starting point is 00:57:13 and then reload. This is a team that I think a lot of people thought wouldn't even make the playoffs. So, and then you take into the account that Jalen Brown's whole career has been plagued by the reputation that he's the Robin. That Jason Tatum's the real star and that the only reason Jalen Brown is as good as he is or as productive as he is, is because Jason Tatum is commanding all of the attention on the scouting report. And that if Jalen Brown had to be the guy, the guy that everyone circles, they should. he wouldn't be able to do anything close to JT. And then you end up seeing how he's played,
Starting point is 00:57:52 but not just how he's played, but in the environment that he's played in, right? You have no Tatum. You trade Drew, you trade Christas Porzingis, and you replace them with Luca Garza, Namias Ceda, Anthony Simons, Jordan Walsh,
Starting point is 00:58:11 Sam Hauser, Gonzales. I don't even know Gonzalez. Truth be told, like, I don't know where he came from. Like, Derek White's the only guy in Peyton Pritchard that you can really say are our true NBA quality starters, maybe Anthony Simons. And now with higher usage, now being the guy, not only is he the Batman, but he's playing at a career level pretty much in every category.
Starting point is 00:58:39 His usage has gone up, but also his three-point percentage, his shooting percentage. All of the statistics and counting stats have gone up. but more importantly, Boston second in the east, and they're probably going to the finals. So you take Shay off of Oklahoma City, they're probably still a top five team in the West. Without J.B., I think this is like a 12th or 13th team in the East.
Starting point is 00:59:06 This is why they passed the big bucks right here. This is it, killer. I've always said he was Batman. Nobody wanted to believe me. I guess this is showing us right here in real time. Exactly every single thing you said, Trista, I couldn't have said it better, but I told you. That's the only thing you was missing was Mace told us this. If you want to do your takeover, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:59:31 You could do it. I don't mind. But I told everybody this, that Jalen Brown is the one on that team. It's always been this way. Like, when it comes down to it and things get tough, he would defer to Jalen Brown. He wouldn't always take the big shots. Sometimes he would, but most of the time he would defer to him. And that showed me a lot.
Starting point is 00:59:55 And just knowing Jalen Brown, you know, growing up in Atlanta, not that I know I'm knowing, but the pedigree of what he comes from, this is a perfect opportunity to prove that I'm really everything that I say I am. You know, sometime when people go out and other people have to step in, it's not that they didn't have to happen. it's not that they didn't have that talent. It's just while this person is there, they're trying to make it work for the team. And now when you see this happening, it make you wonder if Tatum comes back, he's healthy, great.
Starting point is 01:00:30 But if he doesn't, we're not stopping the beat. Now, I'm not a Boston fan, but I know the Boston fans are really excited about this. And I can only imagine if they get to the finals, if they get to the finals, and they win it. Oh, my goodness. Are we ready to say it's his team?
Starting point is 01:00:52 At this point, it's his team. Even in the finals when they won it, it was his team. So I don't know what else to say. I said it the whole time. I'm not surprised. Keep up the good work. Jalen Brown. You know, just get a seizure.
Starting point is 01:01:08 That's it. Other than that, you're doing well. Yeah, I'm saying I don't have a Mr. Frontrunner. It wasn't about a. told you so there's nothing. They said that Homeboy said he's a
Starting point is 01:01:18 frontrunner. I don't have him over K cutting him. I don't have him over SGA. I don't have them over Wemby.
Starting point is 01:01:24 I don't know how many games Jokker missed already because there's a certain amount of games you can't. Once you miss a
Starting point is 01:01:33 certain amount of games, you're not even qualified for the option to win MVP anymore. I know he's been hurt,
Starting point is 01:01:40 but I think what he's doing, everything that Tristan said for what he's doing for Boston, is great. You get paid $324 million. I've said it on this so before.
Starting point is 01:01:51 I'm not going to celebrate a fish for swimming. This is what you're paid to do. But the answer is no. He's not a frontrunner. Absolutely not. What he's doing is great. Frontrunner MVP? No.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Let's chill out. How much is SGA averages, Statt? Let me see, yeah. averaging 32 points, 4.3. 6.2 assists. Yeah, 37 and 10. That's the best record in the NBA. So, okay. Does that make you change your answer?
Starting point is 01:02:34 Or are you sticking to it? No, for me, I'm sticking with my answer, but I do understand. He's not even better. To me, he's not playing better than Kate Cunningham. I think what you guys are saying is absolutely correct. I totally agree with what you guys are saying. That he's proven that he can be the out for on Boston Celtics. Everybody does look at Jason Tatum as the star.
Starting point is 01:02:57 Jason Tatum's not there. He has them in second place. They're six games behind. It's not like they're chasing for first place. But the question was, is he a front-run of MVP? Y'all got so caught up in your emotions, y'all are not paying attention to the question. Everything y'all said was correct.
Starting point is 01:03:14 you're dead on spot on but that wasn't the question then when I bring up who's front running there you got to check how much SGA got or see average you got caught up and what you was doing instead of paying attention to the question but congratulations on being right but the question was who's the front runner for MVP that's it Merlin oh no I I appreciate that I'm you know I'm going with the eye test that's what you thought
Starting point is 01:03:44 I think the problem You're going to be You got to be fast on your feet Trust. I'm going with diet test. That's what killer talking. Yeah, you all spun around.
Starting point is 01:04:02 The problem with Kate is that if he had these guys on his team, they would still be having the longest losing streak in the NBA. These guys are scrubbed. Like truth, truth be told. Namias Kate is like a 10-day guy. No, I get what you saying, but it's a lot of, if he would have, he don't. You don't. This is y'all.
Starting point is 01:04:44 I actually have a follow-up question for y'all regarding Jaylon, right? Because before we wrap, I think this is important to note. So Jalen Brown's been doing a lot of streams and has a lot of quotes and stuff like that. So earlier in the season, this is a quote by him regarding MVP. And he basically said, I'm not going to say basically said, I'm going to quote what he said. So I don't even twist his words. He said, players sell their soul by flopping their way. to MVP. In this new era, if you want to be a great player, you got to sell your soul,
Starting point is 01:05:19 you got to be a flopper. If you want to be an MVP and you want to be on top of the top, you got to sell your soul and be a flopper. He said, I could do it. I could start going to practice and working on like throwing my head, if you know what I mean. But that was his argument. So Tristan, I know it's a lot to unpack. He said it on his stream. You know, everybody's getting real comfortable saying a lot of certain things. Hey, you got to be a flopper. of what he had to say. And do you think he's dissing anybody in particular?
Starting point is 01:05:45 You know who he's talking about. We all know he's talking about. Who does this all the time? Who drives to the basket and does that all the time? Everybody feels like it's a good idea to take direct shots at Shea Gilgis Alexander now. I think it's gotten so trendy to call him a frito merchant by the fan base that now it has infected the NBA. players where Wemby said it, oh, we play the game the right way, we play ethical basketball.
Starting point is 01:06:18 We're not foul baiting over here. You got, I mean, that was very direct, though, what J.B. had to say on the stream. He put his feet up and said, I'm coming right for SGA and the foul merchant that he is. Yeah, I think, I think actually what SGA is doing is what the coach used to always tell us. Get to the basket. Get, pause. Get to the paint, man. And when you get to the paint,
Starting point is 01:06:49 draw the foul or get the basket. That's what he's supposed to do until somebody stops it, until somebody can stay in front of them. That's their problem. That's not his problem. You got to play better defense. You got to watch, you know, pause.
Starting point is 01:07:02 You got to watch his waist and stop following the ball. I'm telling you, when I look at SGA playing, he's playing textbook basketball. I wouldn't, I wouldn't change. anything as SGA. I'll keep doing it until they figure it out. Stop it. If you don't like it, stop it. You got the tape. You got the footage. Do your tutelage and stop it. Get a Pat Beverly, get somebody that could stay in front of them. At this point, nobody can stay in front of them.
Starting point is 01:07:28 They're always a step behind. They're always just a little, they're either too short or too too slow. Either way, you can't stop them. Mace, do you think, because you're a big J.B. fan, Do you think that if he wanted to, that he could, the J.B. could foul bait that he, like he says, that SGA can. It's a skill. Do you think he could sell his soul and get as good as SGA has been? He can't do it. He's from Atlanta. He can't do it. He can't do it. And Atlanta don't need any more problems this year from any young talent, you know. So I don't think he could do it. I think he's too real in his brain to even try to go that route. That's why you hear the things he say. It says a lot about the type of fabric of individual he is. He couldn't do it.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Right? He said he couldn't. Yeah. Okay. Cam. Jaylen Brown's like Qie P. Newton of the NBA, like, like a black panther for the NBA, right? Exactly. He's always talking.
Starting point is 01:08:44 He's like, he always complaining and shit. You won the finals MVP. When the finals, things like, so niggins going to, so niggas going to call, ain't going to call me for the Olympics. And they call up his teammates. Like, yo, we're going to call up everybody but you, nigger. You want to be Pue P new. Then he sits there, and he's complaining about flopping and everything else.
Starting point is 01:09:09 You know, just like Mace said, Mesa alluded to this. just before his last, before his take was over. But Mace was saying his brain's too strong to even go that route because you could tell he has a certain militants to him, which is not a bad thing. I'm not calling this bad whatsoever what I'm trying to say. But he's like a militant nigga, like even when he got his contract, he's like, what we're going to do is give back to this neighborhood,
Starting point is 01:09:35 which is good. I'm not saying nothing. It wasn't even his neighborhood. I'm not saying nothing. want people to take this the wrong way. I'm just trying to tell you his psyche. He has that, you know, Mace goes strong mind.
Starting point is 01:09:50 I may have been exaggerating with the Huey P. Newton shit. But yeah, he's taking shots in the gus. And I think what he's doing, like I said, what you guys said is definitely amazing this season. Considering, and Trisha's right, considering the talent he's around. But SGA, nice,
Starting point is 01:10:06 nigger. Nigger nice, my nigger. Like, my nigger. So, as much as Tris, as much as Mace likes Jalen Brown, he likes SGA too, just so you know. Yeah. But, yeah, he gets foul a lot. But, yeah, stay in front of him.
Starting point is 01:10:25 You know what I'm saying? Stay in front of him. The kid is nice. He don't talk, he's smooth, mid-range game, forgot about art. The kid is good, man. And then that's what drive niggins either, more crazy.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Unless, you know, he say little shit that we can't hear. He doesn't even feed him this shit on the court. Like, nothing bothers him. Nothing bothers Luka, but he got a not Luca, the Joker. But this nigga really not bothered. His poker face is crazy. And the thing that I like about SGA, he's killing niggas and designer sneakers. His sneakers are like designer shoes.
Starting point is 01:11:02 And he got his ankles taped up in low top designer sneakers, and they still can't stand in front of him. So I don't know what else to say. Last thing, I'll add real quick too, because we always talk about how, like, we felt like a lot of players are just, like, too friendly and stuff like that. And I know people felt some type of way about Jalen Brown making those comments on the stream, because to some people, it seems like, why is he adding SGA? Like, things like that. But I feel like that also shows the competitive nature, which more players should have to kind of feel like, well, he does that. He does that.
Starting point is 01:11:36 But I'm going to try to do this, that type of energy and aspect to the game as well. which I think is important. So I know a lot of people felt some type of way about it, but I think that that should kind of come back. Like people should feel a type of way. I like the competitiveness, but I'm a stickler. I don't like people hating on people because they're doing better than them. I really don't like that.
Starting point is 01:11:57 I understand that you want to do better, but take it up with the ball. Between you and the basketball. Look at that out. When you get the ball, do something better than that. I'm doing, right? Don't, don't bring me up in the conversation because I'm not there to defend myself. I don't be talking about you.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Why are you talking about me? They like what they like, you know? It's like you've been a guy and you're not there and the guy's bringing your name up. She likes who she likes. She like who she likes. Don't bring me up. Yeah, I'm not mad at that.
Starting point is 01:12:34 I'm mad at that at all. Okay, y'all. Well, that is all the time that we, have for today a great conversation y'all. Trista, it was a pleasure to have you on the show. Armenian is what it is. Armenian.
Starting point is 01:12:50 He's got the word for you. Armenian. Yes, that's what I was trying to say earlier. Oh, man. Like a Kardashian? I think they're Armenian. Oh, look at there. They are. The Kardashians are baddies. I don't care what anybody are going to say. They are. That's how you got to take that.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Oh, they are. It's a compliment. It's a compliment. Yes. Actually, actually, I got a little, a little Kardashian contour stick from Kim Kay in the bag. That's probably what I saw. That's probably what I saw. I got an eye for it. That's probably what it was. You know what?
Starting point is 01:13:25 Yeah, I got an eye for. A little contour. Okay, y'all, well, thank you all for watching. And as always, it is what it is.
