Woo!
What's up?
Finally, me and Stat on the show at the same time.
I know.
What?
I know.
What are y'all thinking?
What is this supposed to be?
It's called girl power.
This is not, what do they call that?
A gallantine?
Stop it.
A gallentine?
A gallentine celebration.
We can call it that. We can call it girl power. No, we're not doing that. We're not. A gallentine? A gallentine celebration.
We can call it that.
We can call it gallentine.
Nah, we not doing that.
We not doing no gallentine and all of that.
I knew it was one of the weird.
Tristan, how you doing?
What's good?
I, you know, I have never done a gallentine.
I think that's generational.
That must be like post social media.
Cause we never, we never had that.
I feel like it's a thing.
They were trying to say, I was caffing about it.
It's just when the girls go out,
if you don't have a Valentine, you go with your girls.
And I think that's fine.
Do they use a guy's card is what I need to know.
Are they using this cash for it?
Somebody might, I'm not.
It's not a Galentine then.
I feel like...
Well, if it's all gals that don't have a Valentine,
then it's just us using our own money to support one another
instead of being sad and alone watching some sort of rom-com
eating, I don't know, Flamin' Hot Cheetos and half-baked ice cream.
Which that's the vibe too. Don't get me wrong.
But I'm all for Galentine's. We gotta go out,
we gotta get dressed, we gotta get cute. It's a thing.
Oh, my goodness.
I just feel like more people should do it.
And I am an advocate for Galentine. Sorry, y'all.
You could call it what you want, but I'm an advocate for sure.
But definitely, just glad to have you on the show.
Glad we're all up here together.
Gonna get started with The Jets.
So they released Devonte Adams.
The Jets saved roughly $30 million
against the salary cap by releasing him.
Trista gonna let you go first.
Does this move make sense to you?
And then where do we think his landing spot will be?
Yo, what are y'all doing here?
What do you mean Tristan is going first?
Who's Tristan? How do you mean Tristan is going first? Who's
Tristan? What is it? Trista? Yeah. Well, you know, when you're in the ghetto, we got to
give you a nickname. We got to give you a nickname. If you're in the ghetto, I already
have one. It's my nickname growing up was Lord tree tree. Little trick trick or little tree tree?
No.
Well, quick.
It was tree tree.
Nobody was calling me little trick trick.
That was what we were calling the boys.
Oh my goodness.
So little tree tree.
Do you used to smoke weed?
Did you get it from Marijuana?
I did, yeah.
We did the, I think it was Swisher Sweets back in my day.
Oh my goodness.
You know, you gotta watch out for the weed
cause everybody think it's legal
cause they're in legal cities,
but you know, federally it's still illegal.
So, little tree tree, you might wanna watch that,
but go ahead, you're going first,
y'all having a gallon time.
Go ahead, let's see what you got.
Devonte Adams, that's where we're at, right?
Yeah.
The Jets, to me, are a mess.
They have no quarterback.
They don't know what they're going to do at quarterback.
They end up losing, what, a third of their cap space that gets cut a year after, or two
years after picking Aaron Rodgers up. To me, yeah, I think
it makes a lot of sense. They're kind of, they're not multiple pieces away. They're certainly a
quarterback away. And Devontae Adams was slated to make like $38 million this year. So he didn't
have a terrible season. But I think that was the right move for the Jets to make, specifically
considering that they don't even know who's going to be throwing balls. And we saw how, pause,
and we saw how Devonte Adams looked.
Yeah, it was.
And we saw how Devonte Adams looked in Las Vegas
when he didn't have a quarterback that he felt confident in,
especially considering the fact that he was paired
with his best friend from college
and it still wasn't working out.
He was still disgruntled.
We saw him in the receiver Netflix documentary
where he was like, get me out of here, free me.
I don't think that a scenario with Jets,
with Devonte Adams would have made him happy.
In terms of where he goes, I think the Rams are a great fit.
Like they're gonna have Cooper Cup probably on the move,
so that makes sense.
I think maybe a Green Bay Packer reunion might make sense.
I think those are the ones that sort of stick out to me.
And then obviously the LA Chargers as well. I wouldn those are the ones that sort of stick out to me.
And then obviously the LA Chargers as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Devontae Adams ended up
on either one of the LA teams,
considering what you see with Justin Herbert
and Lad McConkey and that run game that Harbaugh
is so known for and that defense that's so nasty.
So I would love to see him go to the Chargers
because the Chargers and Justin Herbert
haven't had a real wide receiver one
That can go deep like the Montaghan and like ever in his career. I
Think I think those were some good choices when you think of arm the Rams
Definitely, like you said with Cooper Cup being on the move, but I want to think about something if he's already in New York
Let's say one of those those new
Quarterbacks go to the Giants
It wouldn't be a bad idea to go somewhere and patch your stats with a new with a new quarterback
That has to get it going and what better way to get them going than to run routes and be his main target
That mean you'll get a lot of catches if you're being greedy for catches, paws, and that
sounds real crazy, greedy for yards.
But that will be the place that he will be, maybe in New York, maybe back in Vegas with
a new head coach, with a new quarterback, because he probably already have a house out
in Vegas, so it seems like a perfect place to be.
And unless he want to win a championship,
if you're trying to win a championship,
go to Kansas City.
There's places you can go.
Titletown is on the move.
We got amazing news.
I'm not even ready to share it.
I'm gonna let Maurice share it when he comes on the show.
Titletown is definitely on the move.
Stat, hey, join the list.
I didn't say anything.
That is your team.
That's Tidal Town.
Whatever y'all got cooking,
y'all got cooking over there.
I wore this t-shirt for Mace today.
Oh, let me see it.
That's your team.
Oh, the Lakers, you back home, Trish.
You back home. Thank you for making it home, Trish. You back home.
Thank you for making it back, Trish.
I would ask specifically for you.
Titletown is on the move.
His team, allegedly.
Yeah, we just had a special guest walk in,
but we're gonna save that till we get to the break.
There's always surprises. You did say Titletown is on the move.
Yeah, Titletown is on the move.
I got champs showing up for me.
I got all type of champions, you know?
Just stay tuned.
Facts. Okay, so a general question.
Just between athletes and teams
and all this moving around that we've seen,
keep talking about trusting the process.
And it really originated with the Sixers,
and we saw how the process went.
In general, Trista, in your opinion, ers and we saw how the process went.
In general, Trista, in your opinion, how long do you think the process should take?
Oh, that's such a great question, Stat.
I would say half a decade, five years, it should be from start to finish, from like
a full tear down where I think that's where you call that the process where you burn everything down and then you
Try to hopefully plant new seeds and get them to blossom
But once you start getting into year seven, you're eight, you're nine of the process. I think Joellen Bede's rookie season was in
2016 right? I mean we're talking a decade into the process with nothing really positive to speak of.
Yeah, I think from start to finish, it's got to be like five, six years.
Wow.
Wow.
Mine's is shorter than that.
I definitely come from a championship pedigree.
I think when it comes to the process, actually, I'm just telling you what I know, stat, you
know?
You can learn this the easy way or the hard way because what I'm saying is normally true
But sometimes I'm joking but I try to even layer my jokes with truth
I think the real process must
Manifest something in three years, right?
So you get this one year to acknowledge and assess what's going on.
The next year you have to put in a plan to start making sure that that comes to
fruition. And then the third year, by the third year, you have to see something to
continue. So I'm not one of those people that put five years into something or
10 years like you see at you see at the 76ers.
When it comes to a process,
at three years you should see something.
I mean, it only took Jesus three years to do what he did.
So three years is the number.
And it says something like that in the Bible,
I think it's a scripture.
Like if something doesn't happen within three years,
cut the tree down.
So the same way I believe when you got teams and people coming together,
I think within three years you could see something because even when LeBron went
to your team, Miami, right.
The first year they didn't do well.
I mean, they did do well, but they came short of the title.
The next two years, year two and three, they were champions.
So it goes on to my
purpose. I meant my point. You shouldn't take a long time with people and things not manifest.
Like the same way, me and Killer got together within six months, we already had millions of
dollars on the table. We started working together and that was just for music
We just we didn't even take the deal then we came back
You know six months later and he was doing a podcast and somebody else was on it
He said yo, you should come on as a arm guess and within six more months. We was at eight figures
So and then you know two years later or a year later,
we're doing another deal for even more money. So I'm like, it don't take that long when you're
with the right people. If you and a person's energy is genuine, there should be something that happens.
And when things don't work out long term, it's just because somebody's agenda changed,
you just didn't know it.
That was a great take. And then speaking of someone
who's around the right people, where the process
didn't take too long, Saquon Barkley.
Oh!
Eagles are rewarding him with a two-year...
I thought you was gonna say you, Stat.
Oh, like me too, though. Like, hey!
Stat, when I met you, Stat, you was behind the camera too, though. Like, hey! You, Stat, when I met you, Stat,
you was behind the camera with the clipboard,
just shy girl saying, oh, here go the notes.
I say, you know, make sure you get your stuff together
because you're going to be on the camera.
Yeah, that was indeed said.
And for those who don't know, now you know.
Guys, I trusted the process and I was doing my writing
and I was in my classes,
coming back and putting in the work,
and now I'm here, and it's been a blessing,
and I love the journey that we've been on.
So it's dope to be around cool people.
You want to see me win.
Yeah, shout out to Killa as well.
Yeah, facts. Facts, facts, facts.
Okay, so the Eagles are rewarding Saquon Barkley
with a two-year $41.2 million contract extension
that makes him the highest paid running back in NFL history. The deal includes $36 million
dollars fully guaranteed at signing. Trista, how we feeling about Saquon Barkley's really nice payday?
That's a lot of money. Say it again. Wait, say that again, stat. Yeah, $41.2 million contract extension, $36 million guaranteed.
That boy again. Get paid, young. Get paid.
Oh, man.
But yeah, Trista, how you feel about his payday?
You need the money gun, Trish. You need the money gun.
I do. I definitely need the money gun.
I'm going in T's exclusive game and buying you the money gun. I do. I definitely need the money gun. I'm going to tease exclusive game
and buying you the money gun
because you need the money gun.
It's a supreme money gun.
They sell an exclusive game.
Shout out the exclusive game.
And we're going to get you that money guns
because I can't wait to see you with it.
I love that.
How do I feel about Saquon Barkley?
I think it's genius.
I think for him, it rewards him.
He had one of the best seasons of a running back I've seen in a long time.
But more so, I think what it means about the Eagles is just that they're running laps around
every other team in the NFL.
And we see that year after year, not just what they do in the draft, but what they continue
to do by signing guys a year early
than we thought that they would get signed right they end up locking him up one year before we
thought right we and that like signals to say quam barkley hey we're going to reward you for
your performance for this year even though you already signed a three-year deal just last off season. And then they do it in a way that actually lowers their cap.
It lowers the cap from $13.5 million to $6.8 million because so much of the extension is
a signing bonus.
Howie Roseman continues to play chess, not checkers, and then they do this deal one week
before free agency
to signal to other players who are gonna hit the open market,
hey, we take care of our guys
and we do it with the utmost flexibility
so we can continue to stock our cupboards for years to come.
And then they let go of guys that they feel like
they can either pick up in free agency at the same position
like they just did with James Bradbury.
And then they also find ways to get value in the draft.
So it's just insane how they continue to do things that make you scratch their head.
Like how did you how did you get this deal done?
Yeah, I think it's a phenomenal thing when you when you pay the people that's been there.
I mean, I definitely understand that there's people that I've been with just like my manager.
I've been with him since I was 19, 20 years old.
And he's still the same person that I'm working with today that sometimes we sit there and
strategize on how to work through things that come up, you know, shout out the coup de love,
been with him since we was 19 years old,
since I was 19 years old.
And so I really love that idea of beginning to pay people
that help you get somewhere and keeping that bond
because that's important.
It says a lot about you.
It says a lot about your integrity,
your legacy and all of that type of stuff
So I'm really excited to see what comes out of this because when you make these kind of moves
I would have liked to see everybody on Philadelphia State as I stated yesterday
But you definitely got to take care of Saquon and just think just a year ago
He was miserable on a team, not miserable, but he was on a
team that didn't value him.
And sometimes you got to weather the storm when you're around people that don't value
you, so you can make it to the people that you do, you'll be celebrated with.
Because sometimes you're just with the people that's tolerating you, and that's so you can
appreciate when you get with the people that celebrate you.
Mace, Mace, you said something really quick before we move forward on this.
You said something when I was filling in for Treasure last week or whatever it was.
And you said something about Saquon that I thought was so valuable that I wish you would
share with the fans and with this group. And you said, now that he's won a Super Bowl,
that's going to continue to solidify and build a new confidence in now that he's won a Super Bowl, that's gonna continue to solidify
and build a new confidence in him
that he's gonna take and take his game to a new level.
Can you expand on what you were telling me about that?
Because I feel like that's such a lesson and such a bar
and the example that you gave with your career in rap.
Yeah, like with anything you do in life, after you win, your confidence goes to a new height.
So after you win on that level, like let's say Saquon, he wins the championship.
The Philadelphia Eagles, they win the championship.
The team that comes back next year is not the team that started last year.
This team now, they know what it's like to pop champagne.
They know what it's like to have goggles on.
They know what it's like to be on that parade.
And they want that that experience again.
You get what I'm saying?
After you after you've lived on the top.
Pause, it's hard to go back to living in the slums and in the trenches.
It's very hard to do that.
Sometimes people think, oh, you got scared.
No, it's like after you've seen a certain level, it just doesn't make sense.
You know, who wants fried bologna?
Who who wants hard, you know, bread?
You know, who wants that?
Who wants spiced salmon and all of that?
I don't even eat that stuff anymore because I made it to a new place.
And the same thing happens when you start getting into the fabric of this
Philadelphia team. Once you won, just like the Lakers,
just like the Chicago Bulls after that team got the first victory,
the confidence go to a new level.
Even the people who used to be role players start playing like all stars.
They start playing like starters now.
And I'm going to give you an example of what I'm saying, even though I'm kind of
being long-winded.
When you think about for a second, think about the Boston Celtics after they won.
You remember the guard that had the headband?
What's his name?
The light skin one.
He's now he's on USA.
Derek White, Derek White. Thank you, Derek White. Now he's on
USA. Why? Because he was just a role player. But after he
receives that championship confidence, now he's playing
like he's you get what I'm saying? He's a USA starter. He
can move different, He can move different.
And this is what happens to people once they had that level of success.
And you may think the year before, somebody may say, I thought Tyler Hansberry was better,
but not anymore because the confidence is now higher.
So I think the same thing happens with Philadelphia.
It happened with Kansas City for years.
And now you saw Kansas City just comfortable when the game is close.
Why? Because we won this way before.
And I and I know this to be true even in my life.
It was certain victories that I had early in life.
That is nothing people would be able to do to sway my confidence.
Like 20 years, I had to work in the dark. there's nothing people would be able to do to sway my confidence.
Like 20 years I had to work in the dark.
20 years I had to work with people not agreeing with me.
Over 20 years I had to work with people
thinking I was crazy.
And now 25 years later, people get exactly what I saw.
But you have to stay the course while people don't understand.
So when they come back around to it,
they'll say, now you're a genius,
but it wasn't always like that.
You ate.
Like, that's all Casher said.
Like, you all can call a pause,
I don't care, you ate.
What does you ate mean?
The plate is clear.
We are full.
That was great.
You killed it.
That's what that means.
Okay.
And I'm not pausing that, I don't care.
That was fire.
Yeah.
Okay, so.
Mance, real fast, what was the first moment
in your hip hop career that gave you that confidence
where you would never look back?
For me, it was, I must tell the truth,
for me it was instant.
I worked so hard behind the scenes
that when I did hit the scene, it was instant.
To people, it looked like it happened overnight,
but Killin' I Know, we was rappin' since we was like 10.
We would be on the bus, banging on the chairs,
riding on the train, pause, just freestyling.
When we didn't even know we could rap,
like he would rap, I would rap.
We would look like, oh, you could kind of rap.
He would look at me like, oh, you can kind of rap.
And then that's kind of how we started.
I don't know if Killer really remember how we started, but that was how we started. We would be on a bus going to the train,
taking the bus to the train, to the game. So we would be freezing going to the games and then got
to play with snow and our sneakers. Our sneakers would be wet. We would be screeching the floor.
our sneakers, our sneakers would be wet, we would be screeching the floor. And our toes would be frozen, we would have to play through all that.
I just remember going through all of that, just rapping for years and studying.
I remember one time we went to, what was that, the Nassau Coliseum and they only could let
two people in.
And me and Cuda was outside, and it was Junior Mafia.
They was red hot at this time.
And we didn't get in, we didn't get in.
And at that moment lit a fire in my belly,
pause for real, to make me say,
I'm never gonna be outside where I can't get in.
I can't get in, because everybody was getting in but us.
So then I'm looking at Cuda like,
I thought you said you knew Biggie.
I thought we all the way in,
in Nassau Coliseum is so far from Manhattan.
And then a year later, I just put,
I just started working on my flow,
working on my bars, working on my delivery.
And I worked on it for like six months.
I studied people like Method Man.
I studied people like LL.
I got my waves from Nas.
I got my bounce from Method Man.
I got my songwriting from LL.
And it was like all of this, I just pulled together.
Red Man, Nas, LL, who else?
Who else was real instrumental to me?
I'm trying to think.
And then when I started listening to Big a little bit, I wasn't at first listening to
Big.
I was more like a Tupac fan.
So it was like when I got signed to Bad Boy, it was like now I'm with Bad Boy, but I was really a Tupac fan. So it was like when I got signed to Bad Boy, it was like, now I'm with Bad Boy, but I was really a Tupac fan. But Biggie was like letting me hear his raps and
go get girls for him and stuff like that. Not go get them, but you know, me and Cease
would just pick up girls and drive them back to the crib. That wanted to be there. Let
me put that out there. That wanted to be there. And
I learned so much about rap like that. And then one day he was performing at the Apollo
and he brought me out. And that was the part that just changed everything. It was like,
what else can you be solidified by other than the greatest rapper ever to bring you out
on stage and say you're the next one? And once he said I was the next one, I never looked back.
I got better every day.
I got better on every song.
Every freestyle was great.
It was like I couldn't miss for like two years straight.
Anything I hit, anything I got on was just gone.
Wow.
And it was just like this.
It was like nonstop.
My hand was hotter than probably Drake's.
I'm not, I'm not going to lie to you.
I mean from the beginning.
Now Drake has had a better way better career did major things, but I'm saying that an issue
start my initial start was hotter than Drake's.
I say that so somebody can see, not for the algorithm,
but for them to see the level of heat.
You go somewhere and people fall out, not like yelling.
Fall out like...
Fainted on the floor.
On the floor.
Like shut the mall down.
Close the store. High end stores. Close the floor. Done. Like shut the mall down. Yeah. Close the store.
High end stores.
Yeah.
Close the gate.
Don't let no more people in.
Yeah.
And it was just a phenomenal thing.
And the thing, all of that came from Biggie giving me
that one shot.
That's what I equated all to.
So I look forward to going to Ms. Wallace's funeral
and showing great respect to that family.
Cause that was monumental for me.
That's dope.
And thanks for sharing cause Mase,
you definitely drop like conservative gems,
like here and there we get a story
and then it's like, and then we're like waiting.
And then you go back and then you drop it again.
And we're like, yeah.
I don't really, if people that know me,
like even like killing people that know me,
they know like behind the scenes,
I'm really like a shy person.
I really don't like to talk.
I only talk when people like kind of force me to talk,
but then when I come out the shell,
I come out the shell too much.
So I try just make sure I don't do too much.
You know?
It's not too much.
We like, we love the stories. I like the stories. I'm sitting here like, tell me more, tell me more. but just make sure I don't do too much, you know? It's not too much.
We love the stories.
I like the stories.
I'm sitting here like, tell me more, tell me more.
But it's okay.
When you're ready to share, we're all here because we love hearing your stories and your
journeys off.
I should do a documentary.
Kind of.
Yeah.
Yeah, I got, if you're watching this and your camera crew hit me up, we should do a documentary.
Interview my pastor, interview the people
that was with me when I wasn't in music.
It would be a great story.
It would be dope.
Yeah.
Amazing Beth's story.
Yeah, you get people, I would even let people
that have negative things to say to me
be on the documentary.
Say what they gotta say.
Because I think that makes it a great documentary.
Yes.
To make it real.
Yeah, it's unbiased, but it is real.
Yeah. We'll chat. And y'all unbiased, but it is real. Mm-hmm.
We'll chat.
And y'all in the comments, make sure y'all...
Yeah, make sure y'all get on it.
Because Killer's supposed to be doing my documentary
in my movie.
But he's not here. Killer, call me.
Facts. Okay, so now time to talk about the Mavs,
because it's honestly a very sad story that just keeps developing.
So what we hope best case scenario
would be a short-term injury for Kyrie.
We have now learned is a seizing and an ending injury.
He has a torn ACL.
Trista, what are your thoughts on Kyrie's injury?
And then what do you think is next for the Mavs?
Man, you know, the thing it's really hard to talk about because I think as a fan and as a fan of basketball and Kyrie's, like, I don't really get broken up emotionally about players who make
millions of dollars who get injured. It's a part of the sport. But Kyrie's reputation took a hit in Boston,
took a hit in Brooklyn,
to the point where there were teams talking about
how little he was worth,
and there was a lot of rumors
about whether he was going to retire.
And so he goes to Dallas and completely reimagines
and transforms his reputation as a consummate pro,
as like the best teammate,
a brother for Luca.
He's playing basketball at some of the highest levels I've ever seen.
He then, his guy gets traded and then he has to, with an injury already existing in his
back, put all the minutes on him.
He's playing 40 minutes a night through injury on a team that's just holding on and scraping on giving us highlight after highlight after highlight
Being really the only guy of voice of reason after the Luka trade and everyone was so in pain and
Then to tear your ACL right before your player option where you would essentially be a free agent if you opt out
On a team that really has no loyalty and they wanted to give you the bag it's
just heartbreaking it's heartbreaking for fans of the sport it's heartbreaking
for fans of Kyrie and as like someone who doesn't get emotional it really was
tough in terms of like what I think is next for him it's tough because ACL
injuries in your 30s are hard to recover from. Like under the best circumstances, it's probably eight months.
Maybe it's 10 to 12 months at his age at 33.
So he's gonna have to probably be out
most of next year too.
So if you're him, you probably opt in
to your player option of 45 million,
like Klay Thompson would have.
You take that whole year to recover
and then you figure out whether the Dallas Mavericks
want to give you that long-term deal, which they said they wanted to do, if he would have
opted out and was healthy.
The rumors were three years, $150, $160 million.
And then if they don't, I mean, there's a real possibility that he's losing out on $100
million.
Yeah.
Or somewhere in that neighborhood,
if he takes a mid-tier, not a veteran minimum,
but like a mid-level exception, the 20s, 20, 25 million,
it's tough.
And then for Dallas, it's kind of like not a surprise
when you play a guy that many minutes
with that much injury history
and already playing through
A bunch of issues that something like this could happen. It's just overall a bad situation
Yeah, when you think about Kyrie, I would actually say that
Kyrie is such a phenomenal talent. I wish that Kyrie come back from this and win a championship
That's what i'm going to say.
You know, there's nothing greater than going through all that adversity
and then coming back and doing what many thought couldn't be done.
I heard what Tris Tris said, and I agree with a lot of what you're saying.
I agree with, in fact, 99 percent of it.
I just hope my hope is changing the one percent% to say I really wish that Kyrie comes back
and you have a speedy recovery.
We're gonna be praying for you.
And I just look forward to him and Anthony Davidson
to pick and roll and him actually being able
to create some magic on the West Coast.
Take. Okay, so now time to talk about
the Warriors versus the Knicks.
Shout out, Sin.
I don't know why every time we talk about the Knicks, they lose.
Why do you say shout out to the Knicks, um, to Sin?
What does Sin do?
Because I just feel like every time we talk about the Knicks, they lose.
It's not even intentional.
I promise you, Sin.
But I'm just... This is your team, and it happens.
But hey, so, the Warriors beat the Knicks, 114-2102.
Where at? Where were they?
Uh, they were in...
At the garden.
In the garden. No, I wanted you to say it.
In the garden.
So, even better, Sin. Even better, Sin.
This is your team, so you can discuss that later.
But, Trista, how do you feel about the Warriors season
with the addition of Jimmy Butler,
and how far do you think they can go?
That's such a great question.
I mean, there's so many pieces that I thought
that the Warriors were going to need
in order to really be a contender.
Things looked so bleak right before the trade deadline.
They looked so thirsty.
They were trying to reunite with Kevin Durant and he said no.
And Jimmy Butler told the team, I don't really want to come to Golden State.
I want to play for Phoenix.
And they said, we don't really care.
We're going to trade for you anyway. And he's happy. I think that that
bucket getter that Jimmy is in the playoffs that Jimmy is in
fourth quarters that we kind of know him for is reinvigorating
Steph Curry in a way where I wasn't even sure Steph was going
to play last night. But he balls out he has 28. Not only that,
he's a part of the 11. Oh. He has his fingerprints all over that fourth quarter
I think they were only up by two
Against the Knicks in the fourth quarter. They go on this 11-0 run Steph Curry gets hot and they just demoralize teams
That's just what we know that the Warriors can do when they're at the peak of their powers
And I think now that he has a true
Co-star that he can give the ball to that he can feed off of that has that
Defensive identity who can sort of pair with Draymond Green. Their team is scary
I don't know that they're as good as the Lakers are post-trade
But they're definitely a team if I'm a top content or a top team in the West. I don't want to see Golden State
They already have multiple rings and I think Steph Curry right now and we can talk about this a
Little bit later. There's a reality or a possibility even with his age
He could be a top the top three player in the league right now just based on his performance in these clutch scenarios
Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. I knew you like that. Yeah
Trish you said a lot of things we got to address.
We can't just let you do that on the show.
You really believe they're better than the Lakers
are better than them?
Yeah, I believe the Lakers are better than the Warriors.
Yeah, I do.
Why would you say that on live television?
I think the Lakers are bigger. I think they're like their
defense is tougher. Right. Ever since they don't know how this is possible. By the way,
they trade Anthony Davis a defensive player of the year. Is this a troll? Am I am I not
supposed to be gassing up the Lakers? Is this just what you want to hear? No, I'm signing
with you. I'm actually laughing because he's like, why would you say that?
I'm like, what's not to like?
And the Lakers is his team!
I just like people going on a record.
I like people going on a record.
So when somebody says something crazy,
Heard you. Heard you.
Good.
Just like that lamello ball. By the way, what has the Horton been doing since you were gassing up lamello ball?
It doesn't change.
It doesn't change.
It doesn't change what he's doing though.
Has he declined?
Did you hear what he said?
Has he declined though, Trish?
Has he declined?
Stat, did you hear what he said the other show
where he put his lamello ball?
You don't like his curls and I get it. You don't like his curls.
You're hating on Lamello's curls. Nick, make sure you get this take.
Trish, I can't believe you're hating on Lamello's hair.
You're hating on his curls.
OK, in honor of Galentine's,
I'm going to let Trista say how she feels about Lamello ball.
Without words.
Being played through her mouth.
All right.
How do you feel about his curls,
and how do you feel about how he's playing?
Because I think, you know, you get the opportunity
to say how you feel about it.
I have no problem with LaMelo's curls.
I have no problem with his tattoos.
I have no problem with the women that he is with.
I have no problem with the women that he is with, I have no problem with Lamello off the court or on the court in terms of his skill. The whole point that I made, and I know
Mace remembers it, is that I just don't think he's a winning player. Meaning, I don't think that the
things he does on the court will equate to not just winning one game or two games, but getting you out of the lottery,
getting you out of the play-in,
becoming a top tier team in the East,
even though they're building, they've been building.
You talk about the process,
LaMelo, we gotta cut the tree down.
If it's three years to see something,
we gotta pull the roots out of LaMelo ball
and ship him somewhere else.
No, no, no, no.
Now LaMelo has been playing within those three years.
Is the people that you're seeing,
is his supporting cast that we need to consider
within those three years.
But I get what you're saying.
I get what you're saying.
You against the curls,
the conditioner and all of that.
I see what you're doing.
I see where it's coming from
Okay, and that is that y'all we're gonna go to break Trista
It was a pleasure to have you family up here. You already know what it is
Y'all title town is on the move though. So when we return we will be back with a very special guest. The coldest thing about is toxic Four years and counting
Got you feeling like the option Maybe I'm my own problem, babe
She tired of hearing, I don't know What's happening to me won't fall
Dealing with this thing called trust. But she really think it might wanna be free. Why am I in this one?
She wanna be free. Welcome back. Now let's get into our underdog picks of the day.
Yeah, let's do it. Today, the Kings will play the Nuggets.
So right now, Jokic is averaging 28.9 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists.
In this game, they have Jokic at 12.5 rebounds.
Do you have him higher or lower, Mace?
Mmm... higher.
Okay, and then Zach Levine is at 32.5 points,
rebounds and assists combined.
Do you have him higher or lower?
Higher. I'm going higher. That's Zach Levine.
He's healthy, right?
Yeah.
Boys, that's good.
Well, as far as we know, right.
As far as we know. So if you use my code,
make sure you know he's healthy.
These picks only work if the player's healthy.
Okay. Make sure you guys download the Underdog app
and you can make your picks too. So today we have a special guest.
We have boxer Keyshawn Davis, also known as the businessman is 13 and oh with nine knockouts.
He has held the WBO lightweight title since February 14, 2025. As an amateur, he won silver medals
at the 2019 Pan American Games,
2019 World Championships,
and 2020 Summer Olympics.
So he got the Olympics under his belt.
Keyshawn, welcome to the show.
I feel good.
You feel good? Okay.
Mase gonna let you go first,
because I gotta go first.
No, you go first. You go first.
Before we even get into other stuff,
we gotta ask you about this fight that just happened, right?
In your opinion, who do you think won?
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Stat, I'm going first, Stat. I gotta go first.
I gotta ask!
No, this is how you start it all.
Keyshawn, thank you for being here on this show, man. I'm looking forward to your future. Everything you're doing is phenomenal
I want to ask you this number one question before we get into anything deep
What are the rules of taking a knee? How does that work?
What's the boxing rule? I was always taught like when you take a knee, it's a automatic, like eight count,
you know, and as far as like, like amateur boxing, it's like
you lose some points.
But like a professional fight is like is it depends on like certain states and like certain
rules and regulations of like what that state and what the rules and regulations are in
that state.
You know what I'm saying?
So, so sometimes for the listeners, for the listeners.
Yeah.
So there are times you can take a knee and you get no point deducted?
Yeah, for sure.
But honestly, I've never seen, I've never seen it for what I know, like for what I actually
know. If you take a knee, you getting points deducted for sure. That's what I truly know.
But certain states and like professional fights, it is contracts and certain things do be in
there, you know what I'm saying? But for what I know we take a knee
So there's been times where it's in contract that if you take a knee there's no point
Is that what you're saying? It could be for sure
Wow, I didn't know that you did you know that's that
That's why I wanted to start with that question because that changes everything because to the casual
Viewers such as myself. We just see you take a knee we think it's a point.
You know, certain like certain fights, the ref will come back there and be like, yo,
this fight is no three knockdown rule, or like just little stuff like that.
Like certain stuff could be in a fight, certain stuff, it could be different, you know what I'm saying?
So is there such thing, I don't know, you know?
I don't know, like they say, y'all don't know,
you never boxed, can you call a timeout and box?
Is what I wanna know.
Like in that moment, C.U.L. was wrong, like for sure.
Can you be hitting me and I say pause time out time out
I need to my honor for a second that moment bro is wrong
Like I feel like and plus the ref was already counting, you know saying so I don't know what made the ref stop counting
Honestly, but what I do know in boxing when somebody get knocked down somebody start
I don't know who exactly but a official counts outside the ring first.
So the ref, look at the guy that goes down,
and then he looks outside to see what number that guy is on.
And then he four or five, and he keep counting,
you know what I'm saying?
So maybe the ref didn't see nobody outside that ring
counting.
Okay.
All right.
That's all I wanted to know before I even asked any questions.
Stad, you have a question you wanna ask?
Yeah.
So clarification, definitely understand the neat part now.
So in your opinion too, before we move on,
is that a fight that you would wanna see a rematch for
or no?
Yeah, for sure.
Okay.
Yeah, for sure.
Who won? Who won to you? That was your
original question. Yeah I mean if people want to know, you can answer or you can not answer but I think that's what people want to know.
Who won the fight in Keyshawn's eyes and why? I feel like Lamont won the fight because I just feel like he was just more consistent throughout the fight and just off the fight period I feel like he was just more consistent throughout the fight. And, um, just off the fight period, I feel like he was just more consistent.
And he, he was being bro to the punches, like a little more than him.
And, um, also often that just a knee, I feel like he wanted to.
Hmm.
So I know me watching this as a competitor, what was your confidence before about the Javante fight?
And what did your confidence change after watching that fight?
Before I always felt, I always felt because I've been in the ring with him twice already, Spar.
So I always felt when I really do fight him, I think it's going to be like,
I always felt it was just going to be, I think it's gonna be like,
I always felt it was just gonna be like a little easier
than like what kind of like what I project it to be.
Just off of just me knowing me and my size
and what I bring to the table, you know what I'm saying?
So I always felt like real confident
with me getting in the ring with him.
You think Javante will be easy?
I gotta step in on that because that,
I've never heard nobody say that.
Like, cause us, when we're on this show,
we're not going at anybody.
We just wanna be the voice that tells the truth.
Cause you know, like Cam got people, he know people, right?
So I know them people, too, but they hang out with Cam.
So Cam got to say it a little different than I got to say it.
When I say it is just this is what it is.
That's how we get the name.
It is what it is, because I'm just here to say what it is.
But I'm definitely not here to take a shot at Keeshawn, Shakur. I'm not here to say what it is, but I'm definitely not here to take a shot at Keishon, Shakur.
I'm not here to take a shot at nobody.
I'm just here to not glaze anybody.
Pause.
You get what I'm saying?
I'm here to say exactly what it is.
So go ahead.
Continue what you were saying.
I feel like it ain't going to be like a real physical dog fight between me and him.
I feel like it's really gonna be like a chess match.
I just always feel like I'm just smarter than him, honestly.
So it ain't gonna be like we in there banging it out.
I feel like, you know, like I ain't gonna... I just feel like I can beat him.
Don't give your game plan away.
I just feel like I can beat him. But I'm saying if game plan away. I just feel like I can't beat him.
But I'm saying if he would walk down other people,
you don't think he'll walk you down.
Hell nah, nah, nah, nah.
He not walking me down.
He not gonna walk me down.
All right, Kishon, we've had people on here say stuff
and then they go in the ring and be different.
Yeah, but this is me though.
Okay, I like the energy.
It's real.
The killer was here, he'll tell you the same thing.
I like the energy.
So if your confidence was on a seven,
let's say it was a seven,
what is it now after watching that fight?
Did it stay at a seven or where did it go?
I mean, if my confidence was at a nine
after watching that fight, it's still at a nine.
It's still at a nine, it didn't go up a higher look.
I just can believe what I can do, you know what I'm saying?
Like if he really got knocked out or knocked down or something like that, then that would
be different.
But you know, like he, it was a good, it was a good, like it was a good boxing match.
Both of them was in there boxing on a real high level, you know what I'm saying?
So it was like, all right, cool.
Yeah.
I, I, I expect that coming from Lamar Roach,
but I expect when, when, when it's time to,
when it's time to box for Javante,
I expect that he can do it for sure.
Okay. Next question.
What's your opinion on Andy Cruz?
Because I know a lot of people have different thoughts
about it and are like, some people are saying you're ducking
and I don't want to put that or say that.
So what's your opinion on him,
and then is that a fight that we could potentially expect?
Yeah, you could potentially expect it for sure.
I'm not gonna be at 135 for too much longer.
So I feel like for us to really fight,
we would have to fight at 35.
So I would want to fight him before I move up.
So no, I'm not ducking him.
He just, you know, he five and oh right now
and don't really know him right now, you know?
I feel like he got work to do.
He still got a little more work to do.
That's the same way they were with you, right?
Yeah, for sure.
Until you get a belt, nobody saw you as a first shot.
Well, no, I give him his first shot.
You'll give him his first shot?
Yeah, for sure, I'll give him his first shot, for sure.
Like, what?
He not, it's not, it's not there yet.
The fight not there yet.
Okay.
So I'm gonna give you three fighters, right?
I'm gonna give you three fighters.
Take yourself out of it.
And I want you to rank these fighters.
I got Abdul, Abdullah Mason.
I got Javante and I got Shakur.
Tell me who's one, who's two, who's three,
and why from your vantage point?
Shakur tank a doula.
I feel like Shakur, first of all, is just cause he's the best,
out of that group, he's the best defensively.
You know, he don't get hit, you know what I'm saying?
In the sport is boxing don't get hit, like he don't get hit, you know what I'm saying? And the sport is boxing, don't get hit, like, don't get hit, you know what I'm saying?
So, Shakur for sure.
Tank, I feel like just off the strength of being a Dula because he's got a lot more experience,
you know, and he's been at his high level, competing with these high level people for
so long, you know what I'm saying? And he's been knocking guys out, so of these high level people for so long, you know
what I'm saying?
And he been knocking guys out.
So of course, his is definitely going to show more than a Dula.
But I feel like a Dula probably got most potential out of both of them.
You know, he's in these conversations right now and what he's 19, 20 years old, you know
what I'm saying?
So he just got a lot of potential.
All right. So and and the one thing I wanted to understand,
and maybe I'll ask you could have one day when we have them here,
I want to understand what is people a fatuation with
not getting hit if you don't hurt people, right?
So because what I'm thinking about in a tank fight, I hear people say different things.
Let's make it about Keyshawn.
If Keyshawn is fighting Shakur, does that ever happen?
Or are you guys just never gonna fight no matter what?
Nah, we never gonna fight.
And why is that?
Let me just go there for a second.
Like, we grew up together.
We brothers for sure.
We close as hell.
I like that.
I wish that was the mindset we grew up with.
You and my brother, we just not going in
because we're brothers and that's in.
You know, in the world we live in today,
they like brothers fight.
Not from the means of people watching and stuff. That's weird. You know what in the world we live in today, they like brothers fight. Not in front of millions of people watching this stuff.
That's weird. You know what I'm saying?
I know we come from the same community.
We come from the same community.
Your mama always tell you,
don't fight in front of your friends.
Don't fight outside this house.
Anything that happens in this house
is staying inside this house.
It's the same thing with me and Shakur.
We grew up on the same principles.
You know what I'm saying?
We can fight, we can spar, you know what I'm saying?
But we ain't gonna take it in public
and do all that weird.
So it's certain directions,
y'all just won't take it with each other.
Yeah, for sure.
That's actually, I wanna tell you as a,
I wouldn't say an OG, but as a person older than you,
I admire that.
I admire, cause that's how I grew up.
That there's certain things,
though people want this, we're not gonna give them that.
You know, and I totally respect that
as a person that's been in a mix with different people.
I totally respect that.
That's one of the things that made me look at
you and Shakur differently.
Like, wow, they have that much reverence for each other because normally it's one
person saying they won't take it there with them but the other person is like
the money's right. He gonna have to get in the ring. So you saying no matter what the
money amount is? No, no matter what.
I just seen Shakur, he was,
did a podcast with like, with Najeeb Sakhar talk.
He was like 200 million.
But I mean, shit, I mean.
200 million, are you doing it?
I mean, shit, that's 200 million.
That's 200 million.
I knew you had a price. That's 200 million, right? I knew you had a price.
That's 200 million, right?
I mean, what?
So let it be known if the money got to the right.
If you offer me 200 million,
if you really offer me 200 million.
What happened to the brothers?
I'm having something crazy already in there, so.
What happened to the brothers?
For the 200, what happened to the brothers? What brothers? You and Shakur. What happened to the brothers? For the 200, what happened to the brothers?
What brothers?
You and Shakur.
What happened to the?
What happened to the brothers?
And what are you fighting in front of these people?
A little sparring match or something like that.
Look, I'm going to the body of the six round type shit.
Got you going to the game players.
What do you think, Stat?
I mean, 200 million, I mean, that's up to you, though.
Stat, you like training for the 200?
And if you wanna be technical, that's 400,
like, coming home, shit.
That's $400 million, like.
Okay, so let it be known,
Keyshawn said if the money is right,
she caught Yalga fight.
Give me a solo, Nick.
Keyshawn just shared with me.
You ain't heard it from me, though.
That if the money got too hot, something will shake.
So, but I wasn't expecting that, but I understand.
I'm not saying I agree, but I understand.
What are you saying, Stat?
Also, like, that's not too far fetched too,
because even like down to like Jake Paul and Logan Paul,
like they're talking about doing fights
against literally each other.
So like, hey, that's a-
Nah, all jokes aside though, like 200 million.
He said let's be friends.
200 million, you have to get in the ring.
I would just want to hear you say it,
because you playing poker right now.
From my position, no, it's my brother.
Yeah.
From my position right now, 200 billion, I would say yes.
But if we talking 200 million down the line,
and I'm really set, it's like that 200
probably not even going to be that.
What about 100 right now? A hundred? Nah.
He's saying that. Listen, I said 50.
Yeah.
He's a real guy.
He's a real guy.
So, you're in a very unique position
because you and all your brothers are fighters.
So, like, how did that kind of come about
and then how important is family to you since,
I mean, y'all DB3, like, y'all fighting.
So, how did that start?
I'm mother-puss in the boxing at the same time, for real.
When we was kids, elementary school, you know?
And we just all started at the same time.
And as we got older, like like we just fell in love with it
because like we was like getting out of school
because we had to go on boxing trips and stuff like that.
So we just fell in love with just traveling
and just meeting other people and just, you know,
just doing different things.
Like we ain't, like people ain't get to leave Norfolk,
like Virginia where we came from.
So we was doing that, we fell in love with it
and we just stuck with it. And then as we just got older Norfolk, like Virginia, where we came from, so when we was doing that, we fell in love with it and we just stuck with it.
And then as we just got older, man, we just...
We started to realize, like, yo, we can...
We are actually great at what we do.
We're not just, like, okay.
Like, we actually real good, so we just kept doing it.
Yeah.
So I still feel like, compared to others,
like, you're still younger, and that's crazy coming from me,
because I'm young as hell, everybody thinks.
But what can we kind of expect from you specifically
for years to come?
A lot, for real.
A lot, a lot, a lot.
I don't even know, that's a tough question
because a lot probably go down this year too.
I feel like for the most part, just to sum it all up, I feel like I am going to be the
face of boxing for years to come, honestly.
I feel like I just got everything what it takes as far as me fighting.
I can fight, I knock people out.
I know how to have fun in there, I know how to make people around me have fun.
I got charisma, I know how to talk.
I know I carry myself when I wanna be the business man.
But I also got that switch.
So I just feel like, I just got that whole package
in terms of inside the ring and outside the ring.
And I'm only 13 and 0, so y'all just getting to know me
for real on this platform.
But once y'all really understand who I am, y'all gonna realize why I was just so confident
right now and years to come.
How, I just, I hear you, but I don't understand.
How can two people be the face of boxing at the same time?
Who's two people?
Right now we got three people saying they're the face of boxing.
We got Javante saying he's the face of boxing.
We got Shakur coming up as the face of boxing.
You're saying you're the face of boxing.
It can't be three faces, Keyshawn.
You get what I'm saying?
A lot of times people think we're just fishing for a story.
No, that's common sense.
You can only have one face of boxing at a time.
Is that correct or no?
Yeah, for sure.
So I'm looking at it like you got Terrence Crawford,
you got that time before they fought.
You had Earl Spence, right?
And then you got Boots, right?
They're all considered like they're the ones
that should be running this thing.
But as they start fighting each other,
we start recognizing, no, this is really the one.
You get what I'm saying?
So without you guys, and I don't want y'all to fight,
but I'm saying with this happening,
with you guys never getting in the ring,
how do you become the face and he's the face
if y'all don't fight each other?
That's just-
Like technically like, just like dumb it down,
just being totally honest.
The face is like more so of like,
who was like known the most,
not really just going off of accolades
or who became most world champions or that,
like nah, who's known the most?
Who's bringing the most ratings,
the most pay-per-view buys and all that shit?
You know what I'm saying?
So that's what really defaced me.
So that's what I'm saying.
Yeah, but that comes with fighting good talent, right?
The more you fight better talent,
does your stock raise or no?
That's not really true, for real.
Okay, help us understand.
That's not really true, for real.
Like, nah, that's not really true.
It's just not.
Because there's a lot of world champions out here
that we don't know, that y'all don't know.
You know what I'm saying?
And they know some guys to become world champions,
but we don't know them.
And they not even in the conversations of face of boxing.
You know what I'm saying?
Name three of them.
Name three who?
Name three that we don't know that fought a lot
of good people.
Champs right now, currently champs,
fought a lot of people and we just don't know them.
You know, Bam Rodriguez?
Who?
Bam Rodriguez?
No.
That's one.
He's nice.
He's nice as hell.
Yeah.
He just won, but you know Gary Russell?
I know Gary Russell.
Okay, I understand.
Name two more.
Two more?
Yeah.
Off the top.
You know, um, you know the riches and hitches? I know who that is.
Okay.
That's the guy that was, he from New York, he wanted to fight Tiafimo, right?
Yeah.
Begging for the fight, right?
Yeah.
I'm trying to think, I'm trying, I'm waiting, we'll wait, I got time, you ready?
I mean, I get you on.
Okay, you get what I'm saying?
Yeah.
As you start fighting people that people know
is gonna make your name more popular, you know?
Floyd was the master of that, just fighting people
that he knew came
with the box office and as he beat them,
he became the box office.
That's how it goes.
The king must dethrone the king.
You don't get the king without dethroning the king.
You don't get a belt from a contender,
you get a belt from a champ.
I mean, let's that shit get emailed to you.
Yeah, you right.
I see where you going with this.
I like that.
I like that, boss.
He said, let's get emailed to you.
No pun intended.
We know what you talking about.
What's that?
Come on with the question.
Yeah, I have another question.
So as far as like your demeanor, right?
I would say the word reserved
and that's not a diss or like anything at all.
Like I think that's a good thing.
Cause I feel like a lot of people,
when they come into places,
they feel like they need to be the loudest person
in the room.
They feel like they need to kind of do the most.
What would you kind of say to people who feel like
you need to be very boastful,
like boastful, very out there, very loud,
to be like the best fighter.
Like, how do you feel about that?
What would you say to those people?
It's funny you say that, because that's like...
in the media, that's like typically like how I am.
You know, like, especially like when I go live
and stuff like that. Like, but I'm just...
You know, I'm a champ now, you know what I'm saying?
So, a lot of people would want me to be like boast boastful, get riled up and like, speak up,
bring out their name and stuff like that.
So, it's just, I'm just trying to move a little different now.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I'm just in a different position.
You know what I'm saying?
I got to get used to this position I'm in right now.
So, I'm just trying to turn things down a little bit.
You know, just speak more with my hands.
Yeah. It's funny that you say that
because we kind of had a conversation earlier
about how people move differently when they win.
So it's like, you kind of...
See?
Yeah, you kind of say, like, you move different when you...
Like, you prove yourself, and I know you're still...
You don't have to be loud, because you're winning.
It's like being rich.
You don't have to look rich when you're rich.
Yeah.
Poor people try to look rich. Rich people try to be... look poor, so you don't ask to look rich when you're rich. Yeah. Poor people try to look rich.
Rich people try to be, look poor,
so you don't ask them for nothing.
Yeah.
So, like, that was a good point.
So, the last thing I'm gonna say is,
for the viewers who are watching,
whether they know you already, are new to you,
what kind of do you want them to leave knowing about you?
What's something that's important to you, true to you,
that you want all of the It Is What It What's something that's important to you, true to you,
that you want all of the It Is What It Is viewers to know,
like, this is me?
True. I believe in God for sure, like, strong believer,
like, Jesus Christ, you know what I'm saying?
So, without him, I wouldn't be here.
We all wouldn't be here, you know what I'm saying?
So, I definitely want the viewers to know that,
but I'm a family person, man, and... ever since, you know, my big brother had left boxing,
and that's what all the pressure came on to me,
you know what I'm saying, just to keep it going for us,
for like, for DB3, you know what I'm saying?
And about time things started turning around for us.
He started coming back in boxing,
and everything just had to keep moving forward, you know what I'm saying?
I just like, my family, like my brothers,
like without them I wouldn't be here, you know what I'm saying?
So definitely like a very, very family oriented person.
I had my first child, my son, you know what I'm saying?
So, extra motivation, you know what I'm saying?
Thank you. What do you...
Because you talk about how important family is to you,
and like your brother's fighting,
and your mom got you into the ring,
and like you said your brother left.
What do you want your family legacy to be?
Like, what do you... How do you want to be?
Remember, and I know it's...
That's a deep question to ask right now,
but seeing that that's your passion,
and that's what's true to you and what you've been doing,
what do you want that legacy to be
and what do you want others to take from that?
I mean, honestly, I just want all of us
to leave this sport successful
because we've been doing it for so long,
over 10 years, you know what I'm saying?
So we gotta leave this sport with some type of income
or some type of success towards something else
that could probably just give us some type of income, you know what I'm saying?
But we all in the right path, you know what I'm saying?
Like me and my big brother, we signed the top rank ESPN,
and my little brother, like he's crazy.
He can fight, you know what I'm saying?
So he good, he got his own path.
So we all got our own little lane that we in,
you know what I'm saying?
So right now we all just like kicking out the door for us,
like, cause everybody started to know us now,
especially in our own town, like we selling out crazy,
you know, so we all got our own lane.
And you know, like for me just seeing all three of us
just successful walking out this jump,
that's what I want to see for sure.
Yeah.
And I remember one thing, I forgot about this, to speak about this,
but I was watching something that Shakur was talking about,
and he was talking about you and how he met you young,
and he knew you was gonna be a problem.
He said he knew you was gonna be a dog
because you were younger at that time
and you just came to fight.
So that was really good. He had the same kind of love and respect for you.
I just wanted you to know that.
I heard him tell that story.
I want to piggyback off that story.
Because I remember the day when they was telling me
he was coming to the gym.
And I didn't know who he was.
They're like, yeah, Shakur, bro, Shakur.
I'm like, who the eff is Shakur?
I don't know who Shakur is.
Like, bro, the dude that just won the Junior World
Championships, he just came from this
country, he won bro, he nice bro.
I'm like, oh for real, okay, we'll see.
I was just talking like that, so like the next day, he show up and I just look at him.
I ain't never seen him before.
I'm thinking he might be like some big dark skin, scary looking dude, something like that.
So bro was like, I seen him, like, this dude right here, this dude
look, he look soft as hell. Like he ain't, I'm like alright man, I'm about to punish
him with that smirk. Like there's no way he's that good. That y'all, y'all hyping him up
to be. So I get in the ring with him, no respect. Like I'm knowing I'm about to beat him up.
I'm knowing it. You know what I'm saying? Cause I know about to beat him up. I'm knowin' it, you know what I'm sayin'?
Because I know it, I'm good.
I'm great for real.
So when I started sparring him, I'm like, damn,
this dude tougher than what I thought he was.
You know what I'm sayin'?
And hearing him tell that story, it's like,
he was thinkin' the same exact thing
and I was thinkin' about him.
You know what I'm sayin'?
So it was like the very first moment,
like, and it felt like that too,
but in the ring, like the very first moment,
we had a spar together, like, it's like we was clicking,
you know what I'm saying?
Like, it's my brother for real.
No, that's dope.
Okay, well, thanks for being here
