So it is what it is.
I'm Treasure Wilson, aka Stat Baby, along with your host, Mace and Cam.
And y'all today we are joined with our analyst Maurice Claret.
Killer, what's good?
Mo, what's going on?
What's going on?
Mo, did you see that list, man?
What list we talk about?
I can hear that your voice is going to be correct.
What list we talk about?
Cam, them made up a list.
I made up a list. I'm not even there.
You show me to me a list.
I don't know what this is.
I don't know what this is a list.
It's a list that a fan made up and brought to the studio.
The most line-step in the most pauses,
the most Zoom calls, and something else.
I know my nickname right now, because I had a little something to take care of
our studio prior, prior to the day.
prior to this they calling me Zoom wrong I don't like it I'll be talking to the studio on
Monday but I'm Zoom wrong right now I didn't like that but Mesa's
Mesa's leading in all other categories and he mad about it man I don't know
I know line stepping he definitely yeah he was the leader that's why he don't
like the list and the most pauses and the worst that this happens because you hear things
and you let it go.
You're doing all this for the tickets.
So I see what you're doing.
I see what you're doing for the Nick tickets.
But it's all good, you know?
Mays.
Have I ever, have I paused you?
No, you have not.
You have not, stat, but.
So let's be unbiased.
But you had nothing to pause, you know.
Okay.
But the whole thing is, this is what I'm trying to say, right?
This is how tedious.
it could be right i think whoever made that list is on point because i could easily start
this show off and say you hear things and let what go what are you holding on to that you have to
let it go this is how tedious this could be mace i don't want to be that person i don't want to be
him i don't want to be that person man i don't want to do this any second man
I did not make the list.
I did not.
I think it's there.
Arabia is up here.
Yes.
Arabia is there and not on the let's see them on.
We ain't talking about Arabia.
Arabia won't respond to me in the group message.
Arabia won't respond to me when I, uh,
so I'm be trolling her, her own comments.
She won't respond to me.
Yeah, so every since Michigan lost, the Iowa last week on the last play,
Arabia ain't said nothing to me.
ain't said nothing to me she's acting like I've not existed she didn't went on the
line and started go go dancing wow yeah thank you thank you she's running
yeah so stat I actually see you in the comments section and you're supposed to be
you know co-host you supposed to say yo she she came after me right so you
should say yo rabbi you got to ask me yes you got to say you got to ask my man I'm
loyal to know all those who came before you so it was funny yo yo
Yo, Mace, did you see,
did you see, yo, fam?
I died for about 10 minutes, man.
Did you see the bet that Moe proposed to Arabia
if Michigan loses?
Did you see that?
No, what did he say?
Yo, when we come back from break,
yo, Nick, have that clip up
when we come back from break.
The bet that he goes to Arabia
and she turned a guy.
I thought that was a fair bet.
I thought that was a fair bet.
I laughed watching the proposal
when we come back from break in the break nick um break nick primate foremost proposal to
ravia i think y'all should find a mutual game and that best stand so so for those
who don't know uh the michigan ohio state game if our win michigan lose arabia has to perform
wait wait no no no we're not going to talk about it until you come out of the break
the clip. I think they got to see the clip.
Okay, we'll have Nick run the clip because
that'll definitely be interesting to see.
But before we get into the clip,
and you all stay tuned so you all can see the clip,
we have some fun conversations here.
So, Mace, you're going to go first.
In your opinion and from your experience,
what are some surprises that you experience with
success that you didn't see or understand
on the front side of it all?
Let's get to it.
What question is that? Say it again?
Yes.
So what were some surprises that you experienced with success that you didn't see or understand from the front side of it all?
I don't even understand that question.
I need time to think about it.
Killer, go ahead.
You go.
Repeat it one more time?
Yeah.
What were some surprises that you experienced with success that you didn't see or understand on the front side of it all?
I won't say I won't understand it, but some things that I didn't see.
It's like, you know, I hate to be the dead horse, horse, maize.
But it's really, it's really, to be honest with you, it's like, it wasn't even my success.
It's like Mesa's success when he first started.
Like, I know, like I said, I talk about different things a lot.
And, like I said, this being like my best friend growing up.
And when, like I said, different levels of stardom.
And, you know, we're talking about pre-internet.
free social media and everything else.
So it's different levels of stardom.
I know last week we showed a clip of while he was on a talk show
and girls was crying and so on and so forth.
But when the person that you grew up with,
you know, you know, stayed in the same,
we didn't live together, but, you know,
stayed in the same house basketball games,
you know, hung out the social activities.
You know, we won't indulge in the what we did
though, everything we did.
When you see him actually become a superstar,
and you're saying, yo,
now I know this girl ain't going to have,
just drop her chicken because she's seeing him.
Like, come on, pick your chicken up.
Come on, man.
You're going to drop the whole chicken box, man.
And then not just doing,
That just happened in the tri-state New York City area.
When you're in Tennessee and this happens, you're like,
yo, we're in Tennessee, man.
We're in Knoxville.
What is they dropping the chicken for murder for?
Like, you know, you sit there and you're like, wow,
this really happening because you got to realize,
you know, I always say American dream for myself,
but it's also kind of a fantasy term reality for what Mace did
and also myself, but, you know, Mace sold more records to me.
You know, it's not a lot of.
people who come out to gain so five million records so when you see this and you like yo
this joint really happened because you as a kid you're writing rhymes in your notebook you're
writing rhymes on the back of your notebook you're keeping rhymes memorized when you go to studio you're
saving up your sneaking money you go to studio hoping this thing will happen and your parents aren't much
of an encouragement you know the people in the streets are much of an encouragement they're not rooting you
want you may I want it to niggas who think they can eat off you like maybe if this shit pop
or we can eat off a nigga so to see um him turn to superstar that was the that was uh the
what was a surprising stat yeah what was the actual surprises yeah yeah it was it was surprising
because you dream it but for it to happen um it's crazy you know what I'm saying for me you know
that was the first experience because like that i said that's my best friend and
shit like that just don't be happening and then for myself i would say i got to a point you know
it's funny shout to mr commodore mr commodore y'all go to his uh instagram page he does
re-inxed over and when people sell stories he reenacts the scene and he did this
story over that i'm about to tell it's not a long story but i remember i was so hot right
basically when I was probably at the peak.
I've never forget, it's Virginia, Richmond, Virginia.
And there was a line of girls outside my hotel room.
And this is word to everything I love.
It was probably about 15 to 20 euros outside my hotel room, wanting to meet me.
And I said they could come in one by one.
If they, when Zeke, Zeke was there.
I said, Zeke, when they opened the door, you tell them they got to do a tuck roll or cartwheel into the room.
And every one of them did a flip into the room to meet me.
So you gotta think about this, you open the door and they go,
do a slip into the room.
And I was like, yo, nah, this is not fair.
I ain't, this is too much power.
This is like, you know, so that was surprising to the 15 to 20 girls.
Actually did a tuck roll of flip to get to get a tough roll of flip to get
into a hotel room to me yeah tug wrong crazy mace now you have time to think about the question
go to you know mr con you'll listen i'm gonna put this clip in here during the break i'm gonna play
mr convedore's clip if mace doesn't mind of him reenacting the story because he did a reenactment of
this no i think i think one of the one of the craziest things i saw i mean outside of success i
think before we got to success one of the crazy
moments I've ever seen.
I want to
When Killer got the MVP
in Rucker Park,
that was one of the craziest things I've seen.
Like, starting because he was only 14.
He was 14 playing against, like,
how was they killer?
Niggins is like 29,
28.
You know, so we was all going to the park
as like little kids just thinking,
and I was surprised.
he was going to even play on the team and they put him in the game and it was like it went from
like he just got a basket to just think about to get MVP you know and then he didn't get
MVP and now that was like one of the craziest things I've seen even to this day like um
because because of the the odds you know what I'm saying this is a 14 year old kid how old is you
kill about what you had to be 14.
16.
Yeah.
We had a good year that yesterday.
We went to the guard and we played good at all year, both of us.
Oh, yeah.
That was that game was crazy.
Because it was like all of the people we looked up to growing up.
It was like, nah, he's not going crazy against them.
I started thinking, yeah.
Speedy, future Terminator.
Yeah, it was everybody you could think of out there on the court.
And that was crazy.
And musically, I would say,
one of the craziest things I remember doing was getting off a helicopter.
Like, I had just signed a deal.
And he was like, yeah, we're going to go perform the record.
And we had just did the record, you know what I'm saying?
And we got on a helicopter in Manhattan, landed in Philadelphia, like the run on stage.
And after we ran on stage, that was it.
It was like crazy.
That was the first performance I remember doing.
That was crazy.
That's cool.
I definitely want to know more details because, one, obviously, I'm not from New York and then just hearing these stories from you.
What was, like, the energy like between, like, friendships and relationships and just, like, the community as a whole?
Do you feel like you guys, did that make you more to yourself or did that make you want to go more out into the city?
Did that make you want to meet more people or were you more closed off?
Like, what was kind of, like, that mindset there?
I was I was taught in me and so not social media but from the media we I was trained in
it was like if you keep your energy to yourself is more is more like if you keep like mystery to
yourself it made you more powerful as a as a as a artist you know so I grew up in that time so
that's how they trained us in media training and in the media training that I had that if people
don't know you, they'll go crazier for you. So it was certain things that they would just tell you,
you know, stay by yourself, do like this, save your energy for your show. So I would just try it,
but then when I would do it, it was like really working. Then I was like, oh, it might be something
to this. I didn't know it at first. And then I think I started going in that direction. But
before that, we used to go to every party, go every place. But then when I understood how the
psyche of that work on people, if people can't touch you, they can't, today is different.
But at that time, if people can't get to you, they can't meet you.
The only time they see you is on stage.
The only time they see you is in lights.
They react different to that person.
That's a good.
I think that's a great question, right?
Because I'm going to go in a different direction that makes when he's saying is correct.
But I'm going to go pre-free music or pre-fame or pre-whatever.
you want to call it. And it's crazy, right? So I'm not talking about Mesa or myself as rappers.
I'm talking about trying to become rappers because the reason why that's a great question,
because I can sit here for an hour and answer this question, but I'll be quick.
Where we grew up was it's a quiet competition amongst everybody, but you want your
nigger to make it. Yeah. So it's cruise within crews. And then you may got niggas that you
fuck with across the street but you don't fuck with them because you think you better than them you know
I'm saying and then it may come yeah the time you know what I'm saying then it may come to the time
where okay now we got to fuck with the Lennox avenue niggas because we don't fuck with the
eighth avenue knickers like New York is so big that you may have one side of the projects not
fuck with the other side of projects you know what I'm saying like I don't fuck with them
niggas up there I remember certain people getting robbed from my neighborhood
and he'll be four blocks away and they'd be like what he was doing up there.
Nigger, it's four blocks away.
What is he going to walk four blocks?
What's he doing up there?
What are you talking about?
Like, it's that type of environment.
So when you say that, the reason I say it's mad layers,
because you may be saying, damn, I want to be better than Mason rap and Mace want to be better than me.
Bloodshed said maybe won't be better than Mace, God blessed to dead.
But if we click up, we better than whoever wanna fuck with us.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
So that question has mad layers.
And then not only that, you know, Mace lived a lot of places in Harlem.
So he knew a lot of people, you know, whether it's uptown Harlem, downtown Harlem, Central Harlem, whatever.
But the neighborhood that we finished out on my block, them niggas ain't fuck with nobody.
I'm talking about the older niggas.
These niggas, these niggas went and go to, if they,
went to a party they was there to rob niggas and it's like god damn y'all don't go out see we was we were
we were fucked with the older niggas but we had our own little younger niggins our age that we
fuck that we're going to the we going to the party on 116th and 8 we go on to the party on 45th
and then niggis from my block older like yeah what y'all was doing over there
nigga we just going to party man you know y'all niggas is bugger it's a nigger from my neighborhood
i won't say his name shit he got to be at least
59 years on there. Last year, and this for the people in New York, you know, Stad of Mo may not know it.
He told me, yo, it was 20, but the year before last, 23, he told me, yo, y'all,
I think I'm going to go check that City Allen thing out, man. They've been talking about it for a minute.
I think I'm going to go check it out.
Everybody goes to City Island, man.
You know what you mean?
I keep my shit on me.
Knicks be up there and go check their tummy.
It's the side up there, though food is good.
And I'm looking like, yo, y'all niggas is crazy.
Y'all never been to the mall in Jersey.
The neighbor we grew up, if they went somewhere,
it was to do some shit to somebody.
And we was cool with them, but for me,
I didn't want to be like that.
And then Maris, do you have any, like, insight
or even just further questions on this topic
before we move on to the next?
to the next?
Oh, no, just the only thing that surprised me, I guess, fame, notariety or whatever,
I just didn't realize how much that you just became a request to everybody.
And I still, even to the day, I still perplex me that once you become famous, you think
that, you know, I want to buy this thing or move somewhere or, you know, once you give money,
you think about all the things that you want to do.
But what surprised me the most was that everybody who you come in contact with once they understand
that you have fame and notoriety, they think that you can help them with their thing,
whatever they have going on. And so when I brought the question up, I was like, I wonder if
they've ever experienced that, which I'm sure did they do, but I was just trying to prompt
different stories out of that. But you just, you just return it to somebody's requests all the
time. Like there's like the normal conversation is gone. It's just people constantly ask you for
shit. Very, very valid, because I learned quick, you cannot help everybody. So
Stats is going through this now.
She got friends that ain't our friends no more.
She got friends that used to be friends.
That's been happening over a period of time, but you learn things.
You can help everybody.
I learned that.
Let me ask you a question.
Since you up here, we want to include you, too.
Pause.
Do you feel like you lose light skin friends faster or brown skin friends?
I don't know.
My friends are arranged still to this.
this day. I know, but it's just a question. It's just a question. Which ones you kind of lose
faster? Lyskin or brown skin? I always wanted to know that. Yeah, I don't know because it's
even for me. My friend group is even. It's literally half brown skin, dark skin, half light skin.
But on the losing. Yeah, but on a losing, the ones that you've lost. I feel like I lost two
dark skin friends and I lost two light skin friends. It was always been even. Which ones were first?
My first friends that I lost were white.
So the lighter ones, you lose faster.
That's what you want to go with.
It's been pretty easy.
No, yeah, these are questions to ask.
Good questions?
Debatable.
But questions to ask.
Okay.
So after having so much success young, Mace, is there anywhere or anything that you
still want to do or a place that you'd like to go or you feel like?
Or are you in that mentality?
Like, I feel like I've done it all.
Like, what's that mindset?
like now.
Hey, you interviewing me,
Stach.
Basically, Maurice.
I've never been interviewed in so long.
Where would I like to go?
Pause.
Tokyo.
Okay.
Tokyo.
Bye.
I probably go there for the Olympics.
Bye.
I want to walk the stairs.
Where is that at?
The Great Wall of China.
Yeah.
China instead of Tokyo.
Yeah.
Fried rice.
I can eat fried rice there.
There's so much other times.
But.
He goes fresh seafood like I don't know
fried rice
he's going to China for the real fried rice
you know
I like it if you like it I love let me let me ask you this let me ask you this though real quick
Mace you think they give a better massage out there
probably probably they it's
yeah they
they probably got um
I don't know you know
but they're definitely probably a better
they're more trained
cause because it's the originals
whenever you go it's like having
I'm not
I'm not
it's like yeah
it's like being with the original
The original is always
Aboriginal
Aboriginal
Indigenous Aboriginal
man
Mo you get what I'm saying
though right, Mom
when you're with the originals
is different
But I don't think we all talk about
the same parlors though
You know what?
You know why
You know that
You know why
you know that while
that was a fair question
right? I'll tell you something. I think I told Mace this. I'm not sure. I may have told him this before or not.
Me and Mace wasn't speaking or whatever. And I remember I was at this art gallery.
And we had shown this Asian girl was a super duper fan. She just walked up to me. It was like, oh, I'm a fan.
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And I'm like, yo, do you give a good massage? And she said,
I met Mace. He asked me the same thing. First thing you're asked? That's the first thing you asked.
You're thinking if she's, is that stereotyping that you think because she's aging, she gives him a massage?
Yes.
Very much, yes.
But you know what?
She did.
Stereotyping not.
But I thought.
I thought that was cool.
We wasn't speaking.
I said, yeah, that's my nigga right there.
It wasn't.
It didn't mean nothing by it.
Yeah, we didn't telepathically.
Okay.
Cam, anywhere else you want to go or anything else you'd like to do?
Nah, man.
You know, it's whack for me, man.
For people who haven't experienced a lot of things,
they want to do a lot of things, right?
because people be like,
yo, let's go here, you know, I did it.
They're like, oh, you know, fun.
I'm like, I can't help that I got signed
that 20 years old and did mad shit.
I went everywhere.
I don't want to get, and listen,
it's a lot of beautiful places in the world, right?
A lot of beautiful places.
But let me ask you this, right?
I'm just asking, you know,
it's a rhetorical question.
It's not even really the answer.
What am I going to get in Australia
that I'm not getting you know and I said Australia's a beautiful place to go I don't want to see a live kangaroo jump across my car
I don't I don't think it should be loose kangaroos I don't want to see a tarantial like this big in front of the hotel man
I don't want to do it man I don't then they may's talking about age I love Asia a beautiful beautiful place man
they cut fingers off if you're stealing all that and I'm not saying I go there to steal but I don't want to be my
mistaken by accident.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't want to do it.
When you go to the Allen stat, what do you go to the
islands for mostly when you go to the
food?
Right.
Right.
Right.
Boat.
Oh, if you want to be boogey on a boat.
I just like to be by the water.
I could be sitting by the beach.
Yeah. Yeah.
I live on the beach.
How many beaches can I see when I walk out
my balcony, I'm on the beach. I got a boat. I got good food. Why am I going over there to do what I
could do at home? I could go to Utah and go and go snowmobile and whatever. Listen, what else you want
me to do? God damn. But Camp, you don't feel like nothing makes you like curious just to see
where it is somewhere else. Because I, I'm one of the people, I know especially the summer. I was like,
Dang, why don't we do more in New York?
And you were like, I've lived there and I get that,
but nothing makes you like, you don't want to see.
What I'm saying is this, right?
When I was your age, I didn't want to see.
And I saw it.
So it's like, I didn't see it.
I saw it.
Two, three times, you know, you're a little young,
nigga, Nicky said been around the Worley twice.
Oh, he got was more ice and more nice.
That's a fact.
What I mean, times you've been around,
you got to go around the Whirley.
What else you want me to do?
Let me, and I'm not, I don't know.
I didn't, I know, we talked briefly when he was in New York, right?
When you went places, and I'm just saying it could be 20%,
could be 5%, be 90%, be 80%, what was, if you had to guesst of me,
the percent of people asking you about Mesa myself,
what would it be when you was going on?
It was every single time.
I'm not gonna lie, it was every single time.
So what's the percent? Give me a real percentage.
What's the real percentage?
Like 85 percent, maybe 90.
That's you imagine us.
It's 190 percent.
I get it.
Yeah, so let me ask this.
So the question is, so like, so what do you all do both of you?
Like at this point, what do you do?
Like, how do you live life?
Is it so secluded?
So I'm like, I asked my car stuff, I was like,
these dudes have been famous as long as that.
You was the New Yorker.
There's actually these questions.
Every time before the pregame, I see other coaches on the field,
the first thing that they want to talk about is the podcast.
Every time I see the recruits and their parents and at my age,
they want to talk about what we're doing right here on the show.
They don't even talk about football.
They talk about, man, I see you on the show.
And they'll start referencing jokes, right?
And so I just ask myself, like, when you do so much when you're so young,
like what is there left to do?
You know, because when you get older,
you realize that when you older it don't feel old,
but I'm like, so what do you do?
to, I want to say bring excitement, but like, how do you live life once you get older?
Like, I don't want to say like in purpose, but how do you, like, how do you do that?
You know what I'm saying?
It was just a question.
You got to find places that, so you got to realize, right?
What's exciting to you?
Like, you know, when people be like, yo, let's go bungee jumping.
Me and Mace was bungee jumping every day since we was born trying to live in Harlem.
Why would I want to be trying to kill myself?
I spent 20 years trying not to get killed.
No, let's go skydiving.
Every day you're skydiving, nigga.
What you're talking about?
Let's go skydiving.
I'm skydiving 365 for 20 years, nigga.
What you're talking about?
Trying to go kill myself again.
That was a time, man.
Listen, man, that's a real story, man.
It was a time, it was these guys.
It was, you know, I talk about because they serve their time.
It's a crew called the lynch mom in front.
40 walls like where I live.
And I got to a fight with this guy named Cliff.
I didn't know who he was in St. Mark's
gym or 138.
And I, you know, we just played basketball.
We got to a fight.
And I kind of got the best of them.
Or at least I thought I did.
And I see everybody in the gym like, yo,
damn, what are you doing?
I don't know.
Everybody else knows.
God bless me.
Like, what are you doing?
I'm like, man, man,
I'm like, man, man,
I see niggas going on.
I see niggas going on.
I'm at S.A.,
a few other niggas.
Sean and they're like, nah, he's just a ball player.
Cliff, chill, he's just a ball player.
They're like, nah, move, move.
Then the whole rest of the game, he's darned me on floor.
You know, I wasn't fully developed as a man yet, but he ain't like the way I got the best of them.
Now after the game, I'm like, do you know who that is?
He's crazy.
Now we got to go down Fifth Avenue around the back to Thelanore to get home.
And they talk about they looking for me.
Now I found out these niggas is who they is.
I ain't got, listen, man.
Y'all niggas, listen, I really don't.
Like, because me and Mesa, some cool niggins and we have,
I really don't think you understand, not you.
I'm just saying people, if you didn't grow up in an era,
what it meant to survive.
I didn't think I was gonna make it to 16
after fucking with them niggins.
I'm like, nays gonna get me out of here 15, man.
This shit gonna be fucked up.
So when you say, yeah, it was bad, man.
So like, Mo, when you say what's exciting,
the thing that I don't think is dope for me,
is like, of course I love the celebrity that I got, thank God,
that I'm in a position that I am, so on and so forth.
But the thing that's dope to me is where, you know, of course,
if I'm going to a club or somewhere I got to be and everybody knows where I'm going to move correctly.
But, you know, if I go places and I get one through,
I can, what's up?
Because I don't move, like, you cause more attention when you run around with big security and everything else.
If you just walking and chilling and then they see you, they're like, oh shit, Kim, what's up?
And they'll keep going most of the time.
You know, you got some people start following you, so on and so forth.
To answer your question, so I can let Mace goes,
what's exciting to me?
Like, going to Walmart at 11 p.m. and playing football while I'm shopping.
How you play football in Walmart?
They got everything in Walmart.
You get the football and you start playing football.
Why are you going shopping?
You start throwing the ball, things catch the ball.
Get a little fabolozo.
Little fabrile.
You know what I'm saying?
Stopping, man.
You know?
I said it's fun.
Mace.
Oh, man.
What, wait, what's fun is,
man,
what I have fun doing the most probably is
playing sports.
don't know sports i have no no business plan like i remember one time i was going to play golf i can't play
golf but just playing sports that i i'm not good at just to see how good i could get faster than
other people that's fun i remember we went down um shout out the late show they was playing golf down in
alana i called kill i was like yo we playing golf they wasn't that good i thought i could beat them
That was really cool for me just every time doing something like that, like racquetball or something I would never play.
Pickleball, that's what it's called?
Well, yeah, that's one of them.
Oh, that's crazy stuff.
Pickle ball?
Yeah.
Reaching.
Reaching.
You're reaching.
That was?
Pickle ball.
Hey.
I don't know.
Mo, was that a reach, Mo?
No, that's called Pickleball, but what you say it is so great?
I'm gonna go, I'm gonna like this.
If you go to court, stat loses,
because I hate to be this detailing about it,
but pickle and a ball for it.
He's saying footballs of paws, soccer balls of paws, pickle balls.
Like, that is preaching.
That's so crazy.
That was crazy.
That's crazy.
That's so reaching.
You put two points on the boy with that.
That's like saying pickle is a pause.
People eat pickles all the time.
I don't even like pickles.
You put two on it, you put, you put two numbers on a boy with that.
I'm just letting you know.
If this is how we're doing, you can be.
You could be next.
That was crazy.
Just don't say it.
You were the one day.
You played pickleball.
I didn't play fickle ball.
Like, what are we doing?
Like, how do we reverse it?
He's talking about, oh, I like to try a new sport.
I went to go play this.
No, but I didn't say that.
Because that's why you said rocket ball.
You know you're not playing racquet ball.
Racquet ball is what they play in New York.
No, they play.
New York they don't even have a racket.
You know I say?
He don't want to say handball.
Cap, cap, cap, cap, cap, cap, cap.
I ain't a lot.
I play a college, man.
Yeah, see.
I can't go to college.
Yeah, look at there.
I got to see.
Um, oh.
Oh, do you are, you ain't catch me?
I got to see.
That's, you know.
I got to see.
No, what we ain't go?
Chill out, that was crazy.
That was great.
I'm going to say it, though.
I didn't say it, though.
I'm going to let the comments, you.
That's fine.
That's fine.
I guess before we go to break,
Marie's shoot, anything fun you like to do,
that's not that.
Come to this show.
This is it for me.
This is the highlight.
I'm telling you, I don't think I'll laugh more than coming on this show.
Three, four years straight, man.
I can't remember crying.
laughing. I come to the show every week bad and literally laugh every week to say so it's coming to the
show um that's it for me ain't nothing like it you can't pay for this stuff man but may stay gonna get you
i didn't say anything though it's not pause is nothing is nothing there pause i didn't say anything
i stopped yeah you did i finished your sentence for you but it's fine um we'll see if the comments get me
not I don't think they will. I actually want to see the results for this one. My fun things,
I've been getting in the roller skating because I want to know how to backboard skate and been
learning how to DJ. I think everybody should find some fun hobbies. But that would be my two
right there. You know how to DJ stat? I've been learning, yeah. That's cool.
DJ and the roller skating. Shout out Atlanta because they are good. I don't know how to do it
like that, but I'll learn. Okay.
Hey, man.
We used up at skate key on Allenton Avenue, man.
Yes.
Roll a skate too, man.
You're late.
Statt.
He's just a lot of stuff, man.
You late, stat.
That's fine.
Better late than never.
Where do you skate at in Atlanta?
No, I didn't say I was skating in Atlanta.
I ain't there yet.
I can go around, but I can't go backwards yet.
I'm trying to want to.
She's talking about the movie, Mace.
Yeah.
I wasn't even talking about the movie.
I just have my own skates and I go skate.
You said what?
No, when you said
I know, I thought you meant
when you referred to Atlanta
you talked about the movie
because they're skating
in the movie Atlanta.
I thought that's what you're referring to,
my bad.
No, I did see that one though
before the comments say anything else
because I know them
but no, not in Atlanta
because they're too good for me.
I'm not there yet.
I can't do that.
It's different on different coasts.
We on the West Coast
so I got to figure that out.
But eventually I will
and I'll show you all,
but we'll see how my progress goes.
Okay, so WMBA
controversies and more.
we will discuss after the break.
When I knew I could get away with murder
is when one day, it was me and Zeeke,
and after the show we got to our hotel room,
it was probably about, I'm not even exaggerating,
probably like 30 girls outside my hotel room,
so they all wanted to meet me.
So Zieg said, line up single foul outside the room
and one by one, we'll let you in the room.
And every girl that came in,
to get an autograph or even want to stay.
As they came in, they couldn't walk in the room.
They had to do a front tuck in the room to get my autograph.
And there was 30 girls who did a front tuck.
This one girl came and did a front tuck,
jumped up and kicked Zeeke in the face.
He said, oh my.
Kick this shit out of the nigg in the face.
He caught itself.
But that's when I was like, yeah,
I'm a superstar.
Bitches in here rolling around on the floor.
Come get a bitch.
I'm a star.
Yeah, I'm like, this shit getting out of hand.
I ain't going to lie.
But it's probably something before that.
Welcome back.
So I told you all to stay tuned because I knew we were talking about this bet earlier.
Maurice, if you want to give more context.
Yes.
So everybody know, Arabia is a Michigan fan.
And obviously, y'all know who I represent.
So Arabia, just for context, she has not talked about Michigan since.
2024 just for context to put her up there like that, right?
And so we made a bet this year.
And I said, Arabia, if Michigan beats Ohio State, I'll buy you tickets to any game
you want to for the college football playoffs.
But if we win or when we win, you have to perform this bet that everybody's about to see
on your IG and then you won't have to post it.
And so Nick Roll to the clip.
You got to laugh for a minute.
I give you $10.
You got to laugh for a minute.
You got to laugh.
You got a minute, too.
What do you want to?
I'm going to raise all the time.
Yeah, that's a fair bet.
You don't want to agree to that.
Why she don't want to agree to that?
She agreed already.
Oh, she said good.
Oh, it's sad?
What she said?
Listen to me.
She agreed.
Yeah.
Come all, Ramia.
Yeah, she got to actually, she actually got to do it on the show.
Yeah, she's adding things to the bed.
Well, what if it's split?
Marys, what of you lose?
Artness.
Yeah.
They see me laugh every week, man.
It won't be that funny.
The fake laugh for a minute ain't easy, man.
We'll see who wins, because I want to see that too.
Okay.
So getting into, and that clip is crazy, that, dang, that sucks.
But getting into this stuff happening in the WMBA because it's getting real fiery right now.
So Asia Wilson actually had a viral fan interaction, which sparked some controversy.
So it was the heat of the moment.
It's game two.
This could have make or break it for the Aces.
and they're playing the fever.
So a fan was actually pointing at Asia in the stands,
and Asia went and approached the fan.
Nick's going to roll the clip here,
so you guys can kind of see how it escalated where it went.
No, she can't be doing that.
Yeah, she's piss.
What they say to her?
I don't know what the fan said.
He was pointing his fingers.
She ain't like that.
The refs trying to calm her down.
She ain't calmed down.
Of course, her teammates and Nicole said they go up.
He's just pointed out of?
Yeah, that's what.
So, yeah, that was the interaction.
Apparently the fan is a season ticket holder, too.
So they're playing in Indiana.
Like I said, games.
Well, what did he say?
Couldn't hear the words.
Just see the point.
I don't even think they made out what he said.
But like I said, it's heat of the moment.
So, of course, everybody's pissed.
But seeing this clip, Asia did not get ejected from the game.
Some people are saying she should have been ejected
and maybe she should face consequences for game three,
which will actually be tonight in Vegas.
But Mace, after seeing that, how do you think that should have been handled?
Well, I mean, she definitely got to walk away as a star player, as a Nike representative, you know, as all of the things that she represent as just beneath her at this point, especially when it comes to Indiana.
The last thing you want to see is a brawl.
I think the women's sports definitely don't need that.
But if she goes out there and a play of that caliber, if she gets in any kind of altercation, people are going to run to her age.
So you got to know that as a star.
Like when you go to turn up, that pause that many people are coming right behind you to fight or go through that same hassle.
Yeah.
So you want to stay away from it because you'll be ushering so many people into the same thing.
Yeah.
And then I'm sure your statement still stands.
But they're saying the fan said it's on you and the foul was called on Sophie Cunningham instead of Asia.
Because you saw Sophie was on the ground.
Yeah, but that didn't merit that much of my.
So you know, I mean, but who am I?
Okay.
Cam, thoughts.
Before I go, what's your thoughts on it?
Me?
Yeah, as a black woman.
Yeah, you.
Yeah.
You know, you.
So, I know, yeah.
Black power, go ahead.
For the, for the,
show.
For the sake of the game,
what's your thoughts on it?
For the sake of a game, because it's game two,
like I want to see Asia.
of play. But seeing it all unfold, like, it didn't call for that. And what? Yeah, I don't think it called
for Asia to be mad. But that's also out of her character. So I don't see her move like that.
You going against Asia? I'm going against the act. I'm not going against Asia. That's my
favorite player in the W. Can I ask the question? Can I ask a question for context that? Yeah.
So what were her stat? What was her stat line there? What was the score to day?
Yeah. So game two, the score was 99.
to 89 so the aces were 10 down and Asia had 22 points 5 and 11 from the field um i believe
nine rebounds yeah so it's not like Asia i mean Asia's gonna turn up regardless but yeah
so that's all you guys think that's all you guys think i think i think she tripped out a little bit
but it's out of her character so but don't say she tripped out yeah like because all he said was
this on you but also fever fans are
are known for doing a lot, but in this case, he didn't do a lot.
I don't think he did a lot.
But I don't want her away for game three because I don't want to see the Aces
play the fever without Asia.
That's just not as lit.
That's my opinion.
Yeah.
Well, yeah, I just wanted to see what Statt had to say about it.
Look, I'm going to add some more context to this story real quick for people that don't know.
After the game was over, Asia Wilson doubled down on what she did.
she said i don't care and she was cursing and everything she's like i don't give a fuck no man is
going walk up towards me pointing their finger and me in no arena this that third mention be doing
that yada yeah yeah yeah yeah no i'm not brushing off her comments i'm just saying that so on and so
forth so if you look at it it was just a fan who's a season ticket holder he got up pointing his finger
he's excited that the foul was called on and like everybody says so far it's uncharacteristic but it
wasn't called for. You have an excited fan that his team is in the playoffs. And he just
jod up. He didn't go towards her. He definitely pointed out, didn't go towards her and left it at
that. Now, the investigation from the WMBA and the fever were held on this guy, and they called
to be not anything threatening towards Asia Wilson. And this case has been disposed of already.
They looked at it, saw it took them about 20 minutes to look out and said, me, get this shit out of here.
Nah, and he ain't do nothing wrong.
So the case already has been dismissed from investigation on WMBA
and the fever arena already.
So the guy's already cleared.
He's cleared to go back, so on and so forth.
But, you know, sometimes people get heated.
I don't think she was correct.
I agree with Statt and Mace,
but I understand sometimes you get heated.
We've seen, and Mace made a great point,
even though it's female basketball, WMBA.
we've seen a brawl in Indiana before.
It was not good.
It was not good.
So that's definitely a place you don't want that to happen.
But we've seen fans do this, players do this before,
not even on the level of Asia Wilson.
I remember Vernon Maxwell going up in the crowd and punching somebody in the face.
You know, I remember Russell Wilson,
I mean, Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook going up to plenty of people in the crowd.
So it isn't like we haven't seen this before,
but if we're talking about this particular act,
she's probably frustrated.
They were losing.
You know, in the first round of WMBA,
is two games win,
aces are one.
They knew they was going to verge of losing,
and they would have to play a game three.
So she's just upset.
Okay, Maurice.
Yeah, I'm probably with the same line of thinking,
but I just know that people,
when they see a chink in armor,
they understand you're emotional,
they can get you out of character.
I just don't like that because people will come next game,
heckling her.
You know what I'm saying?
She's too big of a star for the WMBA to sit her inside this moment
because she's going to bring ratings
and she has Nike behind her and all those other things.
She's a star, right?
And so I don't like the fact that she allows somebody to get up under her skin
that then causes the emotional response.
And then after hearing Cam talked about that they're not going to punish the person,
these people are going to do the same thing over and over
and they're going to be heckling the whole game.
And so I imagine a dude that I've been heckling her, excuse me, heckling her the whole game.
And then it just reached a tipping point.
But now people have that on you that they can get an emotional response.
And so when people are trying to rev up the crowd or talk crazy to you,
you just added more stuff that you have to stay less distracted from, if that makes any sense.
I do think just overall, everybody was on edge.
And of course, it's game two.
And, like, Cam also said to Am Maurice, like on the verge of seeing if it's going to go to a game three or not.
We already know there's already just these social media things that add to it.
But he is a season ticket holder.
So it's like he's been a fan.
She was just irritated.
I get it.
It happens all the times, but composure is important,
and we're always taught that.
So I think that still stands out at that, too.
A six, how tall is Asia Wilson?
She's pretty damn tall.
Let me see.
I thought like six, seven, six, eight, something like that?
She's six four.
So six five.
Oh, six, six.
Yeah, a six five,
um, beautiful sister of arguing with a white,
a white Caucasian, old.
man that's not going to go well in Indiana you got to
man you got to pick you got to issue man that's not an issue right there man we live
long enough to know ain't nothing good come out of Indiana man but also she stood 10 tones down
I feel like it's also important for her part, regardless of what you think,
because if she was offended, I mean, we can't take that away from her.
If she felt.
But all the dude said was, if she's offended, hey, you're going to me, I'm not offended.
If she's offended, she got to send 10 toes on that.
And she did.
She said if that's how I felt and I'm standing on it.
Cool.
Also, I can respect that because if that's how you felt, that's how you felt.
Nobody can take that away from you.
Nike can take it away from you.
But I get with you.
I don't take.
She's the best of the.
What do we say?
We always have this conversation of like how certain things you just don't see when you're actually really like that.
Does that not apply?
What?
Like we were had this conversation about different athletes, how people kind of just.
She's saying, what she's saying is Asia Wilson is bigger than the program.
Do you agree?
Not in Indiana.
I don't know, no black athletes that was bigger than Indiana.
That's why they didn't object her.
She is bigger than the program.
It's Asia.
Not in Indiana.
Remember I told you that.
Do it again.
She's the biggest.
Because you got to think if a guy, if a guy go like this, file on you.
And then she walk up to the guy.
What is the best case scenario that can come out of that?
If she gets face to face with him.
The best case scenario is what happened.
I see a woman could have been his wife pulled him down.
And then security temporarily escorted him from the building,
realized he didn't violate fan code of contact,
then brought him,
fan code of conduct
then brought him back in.
So she had the best case scenario.
Yeah.
She's a WMBA ambassador.
That's what I'm saying.
So there's an Olympian is just certain.
She's bigger than the program.
She's one of them ones.
She's lit.
She's good.
And she's consistently good.
Let me ask you this, that if she would have punched that man in the face
where she's been bigger than the program.
Okay.
That's different because that's assault.
I don't stand for assault for anybody.
I'll say that.
Yeah, that's why we're saying you don't walk towards it
because when you walk towards something,
where's going to go, you can't control it.
Once you break that personal distance,
you can't control what's going to happen.
And I'm not saying approach people.
I'm also not saying that because I know
sometimes you just need to sit down and turn around.
But luckily it was just a back-and-forth argument
and nobody's hurt.
That's important.
Okay, before we wrap, Maris, I know you had a story to share.
Yeah, this past week during the week, but I had no clue.
I'm not a big soccer fan, so I took my kids to see Inner Miami versus the Columbus crew here in Ohio.
And my little son, he's a huge messy fan, so I didn't know who Messi was, right?
And so we get to-
You didn't know messy.
Oh, this is great.
You didn't step, but in between you and-
That's not including me.
My goodness.
He doesn't know who Messi is.
Yeah.
So I know who Ronaldo is, but I had no clue who Messi was.
But to go to the game and literally just a whole culture of people, I've never been around, never seen, never experienced.
I never knew soccer matches was this crazy, this turned-dub, this much shit talking.
It was like a whole experience for me that I've never been around before.
And I actually became a fan in one day.
And I didn't realize that this dude is like a rock star.
You know, from the time I got out the car to the time we got into the stadium and shout
out to the Columbus crew as a first class environment.
But I was texting Nick during the game.
I was like, y'all had no clue that Messi was this big of a star.
And so it just showed me I closed my world with us, but it was a cool experience just to see
somebody else in a whole different world and different landing with their own fans.
And I was like, man, my world is really closed off in the sports thing.
You being messy, man.
I know I'm messing.
But you're down there in Miami.
So just think about this.
You're in Miami.
So you probably got, you know, and just
honestly,
not just real quick.
I'm not going to act like I know everything about soccer.
But if you know Michael Jordan,
you don't watch basketball,
you know LeBron and Michael Jordan.
Not saying that you should,
I'm just saying in general,
messy, I knew messy before he came in the United
This is real quick, right?
And I'm not acting like I'm a big soccer fanatic and all everything about it.
Messy came over here because he got older and he like, yo, it's child.
It's like when players from over here and basketball go play in training, like I could still go kill them, niggas.
That's why he over here.
I didn't even see him play for Miami.
He was killing them overseas for years.
And now he came over here because he's like, and I could get three goals a night on these niggas.
Easy.
Messi liked that.
Bernardo is the most famous but my Messi's the most second famous needs the most legendary to me
soccer wise so i didn't i didn't even know that like it was it was a whole like so one you know we
don't have a big Hispanic population in ohio right or just culturally just football is everything so
i'm thinking like traditional football basketball that's kind of what i watch it so you know one
i had no clue but i didn't know he played overseas and then he came over here i didn't know that
is shaking you want to go first before i can no that's crazy i was gonna say even though but i i i can
respect that because this is an open conversation because i think it's across the board especially
in our community i feel like we're not exposed to as much as we should be but i also don't think
that that's our fault i just think that there's a lot of things that be going on that we don't even
know about or could be because we've literally just never been exposed to it in different realm our
community black people we're not as exposed to a lot of things that we could be until you see
a lot of different things you're like oh shoot i didn't know this was a thing so i don't think that
that's we're thinking it's crazy because obviously like we talk about sports all the time but it's
not that crazy to not know certain things but i don't think that that's his fault because i didn't
grow up around knowing a whole bunch of soccer players or tennis players
stat you didn't grow up knowing all right all right this is a sports
show not a movie show.
Yes.
Not supposed to know every movie and TV show on the book,
but I could tell you about movies this week
that you probably haven't watched.
Okay.
That's what I'm saying. It's exposure. I don't think
that's necessarily people's fault. So you're saying
Moe Pauls, haven't been exposed?
This is more... No, I'm not saying... I'm saying across
the board, I think, even just when it
comes to, I mean, people who have seen
our last episode speaking about financial advisors.
Like, there's a lot of things that I feel
like we weren't taught.
And I don't think that that's our fault.
Not specifically soccer, but I think it's a
bigger discussion as a whole.
Well, just some more content.
Just real quick move for you guys to ask some more context to what stats talking about.
I agree to a certain extent because if you think of, if you're asking American,
what's the number one sport in the world?
The average person might say football or basketball, but that's not true.
But the number one sport in the world is soccer.
It's called football, but we call the soccer.
Do anybody on this show know what's the number two sport in the world?
Two no
is the basketball baseball
football football I do
baseball what is it
I'm not gonna say
what is it
what is it
of course you're not
anyway
of course you're not
the number two sport in the world is cricket
I can't tell you a cricket player
I don't know
and basketball is number three
but as far world world
views is soccer than cricket.
That arena that they went to play in,
that arena that they went to play in Australia,
the Rams versus the 49ers,
that was a cricket stadium with 85,000 seats.
They played football in a cricket stadium.
That's crazy.
I did not know that.
But again, like, and even third,
it's saying third is hockey.
I don't even think, like, again,
I don't think that that's our fault.
And even like when you compare Americans to non-
The American is fourth.
That's crazy still.
Ice hockey, field hockey.
That's still crazy.
Yeah, I don't want people thinking ice hockey and field hockey is too.
Yeah.
And that's why even people not in America look at us, like, how do y'all not know this?
Like, we're kind of in a bubble because that's what we see.
But like I said, that's a further discussion.
What was your question?
I didn't want to interrupt you at last.
No.
It was kind of similar to what you said with cricket, but I said outside of O'Conny, can anybody
else named three major baseball players like the top three baseball players I could if you told me
i get a million dollars to do so i can't name anybody else i know that nigga who got MVP last year
