Welcome back to it is what it is.
I'm Treger Wilson, aka Sat Baby, along with your host, Mace and Cam.
Killer, what's good?
It's good, bro.
How are you?
I'm doing good.
How are you doing, man?
I got theitis, man.
You got theitis.
Yeah, I went to the breakfast buffet, man.
Just picked out, man.
I'm blaming it on you, man.
The buffet?
Yeah.
Where's that?
You pass it every day.
Coming in to work.
It's delicious too
Never been in there
Oh, you're tripping
It's crazy
Buffy fire
I haven't tried to get either though
I always see it
But maybe one day
We can all go together
No
Yes
Good I don't mind
I love me
My first song
I've been in there a few times
It's good
Real good
Yes
If you can try to get a verbal
Yes
The buffet
Yes
I don't know about the buffet
It sounds crazy
But
I mean
Should the 120
It ain't golden corral
nigger
You don't act like it's...
Yeah, they got steak and shrimp and lobster.
Oh, well, okay.
And crabs and all types of shit.
I'm thinking, you're saying like one of them joints in the South, you know?
I like going to corral, but this is not going to corral.
This is some...
Like Denny's or something.
Yeah, like I feel embarrassed when I see...
Let me be honest with you.
I feel a little embarrassed when I see black people in there holding like four plates of crabs
because they think it's going around as all you can eat.
You can actually just get one plate and go back.
But, yeah, it's a very expensive buffet.
It's not a typical buffet.
True.
You got a pile of the plate up, though.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm guilty.
I do that.
I'm sorry.
It's not going to run away, but I'm like,
power the plate up.
Once you get comfortable at a buffet, you don't want to, like, reset and go back to the line to put,
oh, yeah, yeah.
Now, this is drink.
Listen, I think y'all got, y'all, I know what you're thinking.
This is like a buffet right now.
This is not a regular buffet.
Like I have the church buffet.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this shit where it's crying.
No.
You know, Shirley and...
No, this, yeah, yeah, on Shirley.
This ain't that.
Trust me.
Trust me.
It's good.
Okay, y'all.
So we're going to start with NDA.
We're already seeing a lot of injuries, which is so unfortunate.
But we're going to start with Anthony Edwards.
So he's actually set to be out for two months after moving forward to undergo a procedure on his right knee.
So, Mace, what's your initial reaction to this news?
and can the Timber Wolf survive in his absence?
Man, Ant Man was bawling out, man.
Every time I turned around, it's like Ant Man,
Paul's was having 40 points, 30 points.
You know, I think he was up there.
Him and Luca was going night for night.
Paul was seeing who was going to just look like they were running off
with this MVP race from the very beginning of the start of the season.
So when I think of this and I think of everything else that's going on,
him and Mello,
So this is not ideal, even though it's only two weeks.
That's good news.
It's only going to be two weeks.
But I wouldn't want them not to actually have any games missed.
This is must-see TV pause with them two playing in the back court.
And every night he's not there is a robbery of the fans, not on his part.
You know, his health come first.
And I thank Cam for that.
Cam was telling me about that in the summer.
Your health come first.
You got to take care of that and you got to make sure things.
or what they're supposed to be just for your future because this is going to be an exciting year.
Even though there's a lot of injuries, this is going to be a real exciting year.
You could tell everybody is in situations where they have to play and, you know,
job being in Portland, Ant Man being in Minnesota with now Mello.
This is the basketball I like to see.
It's two months, by the way.
Two months?
Yeah.
Oh, I thought you said two weeks.
two months is a long time
but you know pause
he'll be back
they're asking because they survive
no they can't survive
they're not going to be able to survive
without it
man and like Mace was saying
this is sad because he was balling out
he's averaging 33 points
five rebounds or 48% from the field
and you looked at what he was doing
it looked like he was saying enough's enough
I know I know niggas know I'm here
but I'm gonna let the niggas who think
The niggas who think that they don't niggas,
I'm going to let them know that I'm that niggins.
The way he was barking on Greek freak the other day
when they played that first game on the season was just legendary.
And then we've seen them after that just in everybody's face.
And for two months, and then it's not a guarantee two months.
They're saying at least two months, but they're using indefinite.
Indefinite means there's no date we're going to give you when he's coming back.
So, yeah, this is really sad, man.
Can the Timber will survive?
Look, no, they can't survive.
With Melo's still pulling the show?
Absolutely, he's must-see TV.
Rudy O'Bair, you know, he is what it is.
We already thinking about people don't seem to remember
because we don't remember last night.
But DiVincenzo, he's hurt.
You know, I thought if he would have started the season with Minnesota,
this would have been a team that we may have been saying,
even though they have some injuries,
OKC, we were predicting OKC in San Antonio.
But it seems like some other teams are suddenly saying in the West.
But very sad.
Hope he comes back soon.
Because when we talked about the most exciting player that you want to watch,
for years and years me, it was Kyrie Irvin.
I'm not saying the best player.
I'm not saying whatever you want to say.
The most exciting player that you want to see to me for years were Kyrie Irvin.
Do his injuries, lack of playing, him not being around,
You know, when you're watching the highlights, they're going through a lot through Cooper Flag.
We're not, see, I haven't seen Kyrie this year.
Maybe I haven't seen a whole Dallas game either.
But I'm not seeing what I used to see.
Hopefully you get back to that.
And I'm not saying he's not back to that now.
I just haven't seen the games yet.
But what I see from Ant Man to me this year, thus far in a small sample size of five games or four games or four games or four games of the season.
Yeah, fully agree.
You have another.
Yeah, I really think, like, the only reason why I said it's not a season that's, like,
not over or that they can't make it without them even in this front half,
because what might come out of this, pause that we're hoping come out of this,
is the pick and roll game between Mello and Rudy Gaubert.
If he gets that going early, then when Ant Man comes back,
this team is going to be even more dangerous.
So, you know, sometimes the start.
all go down and then other players formulate their offense.
And then when he comes back, it becomes a stronger team.
Kind of like what happened with, who was that Jordan Poole?
And he started playing in somebody's absent.
And then when you bring the team back and now you got him playing,
it was a championship team because now they had another starter that emerged
out of that time that they was missing.
So I agree with Cam, but that's what I'm hoping happened for Minnesota and the Timberwell.
Good luck with that, trying to get Rudy O'Bair in the pick-and-roll game,
been to league 12 years.
I ain't happy yet.
Mike Conley and everybody else's been in there.
Good luck, man.
I hope you're right.
History can change yourself.
Oh, no, I'm not saying maybe Mello can bring that out of them, pause.
I haven't seen it yet.
Yeah, you're right.
They did have Mike Connolly.
It's not like they didn't have a plane guy.
So maybe Mello can figure that out.
Mm-hmm.
It's definitely going to have to figure a lot.
lot out. So another team in the West, and like I said, man, these injuries. So J-dub and
and Kaysen Wallace are both injured. Kaysen just signed a five-year, 139 million rookie
scale contract extension actually earlier this month. So just looking at the Thunder's
outlook, Mase, do you think that they can still win? Because we don't even have a projected
like timetable for return. Yeah, I mean, as long as you got SGA on the floor, you're still
reputable, right? Because you still have Chet. You still have other pieces that can get
stuff done on any given night. I think what this does is, like I said, it brings that 7-4 center
off of the bench early. Like, these are the things that happen. I'm not sure that, you know,
this gets them a championship, but can they survive? They definitely have enough firepower to survive.
If you still got Chet and you still got, you still got SGA, you still got two reputable all-stars,
and you add a 7-3 player that's a center to this.
And you got a really good team.
You might not have the championship team,
but you definitely have a team that could still get you to the playoffs.
And then really quick before you go, Cam,
I know you said they might not have a championship team.
Are you ready to kind of throw in the towel?
Or you think, like, it's still possible.
No, it's real early, you know.
I've seen greater things happen with less, you know.
So, I mean, you look at this.
This New York team that won a championship, they didn't have the same firepower.
We had a, what's the guy named that's playing the three for New York that vanished ever since he got the New York.
Miles Bridge.
Cal Bridges.
Like, yeah, he just vanished.
He was like a great player.
I thought he was going to be a great player seeing him in Phoenix.
He got in New York and just, I guess he fell in love.
with New York or something happened, but I didn't see him.
So when you think of the average players that's on New York other than Jalen Brunson and a cat,
and sometimes, oh, gee, it's really a bunch of average players that are overachieving.
That's what made it so phenomenal.
Well, as GA, I think that you have a chance.
You have a chance.
Post on there, you have a chance.
like May said, the center coming off the floor, you still have a chance.
I gotta give a lot of credit to Sam Presti, right?
So Sam Presti is the general manager of OKC.
And notable players that they lost, do I think about who they lost, right?
They lost Lou Dort, they lost Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, and he still have a decent bench.
Now, one person who's not playing right now that is part of that bench, and he's not out for indefinite,
but he's not for a second,
it's Caruso.
Caruso is a very important part
of that bench play coming from OKC.
So as much as Sam Presti recruits
and off-season I'm talking about,
trades and everything else,
what he has is this, right?
And pardon me if I don't get the numbers right.
And I don't have the terminology off top of my head.
I didn't bring out the phone on my notes.
But you have something that's called,
and I'm paraphrasing here,
when a player's out for the season or possibly out indefinitely
because of something like what happened to J-dub,
you get $15 million to get another player.
And then Sam Presti, what he's been able to do for years
is keep draft picks.
I think he still has seven first-round draft picks
and I don't know how many years, two, three, four years.
He could get somebody else.
And now, okay, C wants to go out and get somebody else,
they got cash and they got draft picks.
So if they want to bust a move to go get somebody,
they have the assets to go bust a move.
We're saying Presti uses draft picks
because I know he holds them shit tight, pause.
He makes sure that he doesn't know
who's going to come out of college next year.
You know, there was a few years ago,
OKC went to the championship,
whoever it was, or won the championship.
I can't remember what year was,
and they had a number two pick.
It was like, how the fuck did OKC get the number two pick?
And they went that for on the project.
in the playoffs.
Because Sam Presti has draft picks.
So will he use his draft picks?
Will he use the $15 million that they have to get another player?
Pardon me if the numbers are a little off,
but they do have something to get another player.
Do they need it?
I'm not sure.
I'm seeing people, they talked about J. Dub's injury today,
and I can't tell you the name of the parts of his foot and leg that's messed up.
They say most likely he'll miss the majority of the season or the season.
most likely.
So you told me it's a chance this nigga
could come back this season.
Now, will he come back fully?
I don't know.
I'm looking at motherfucking,
and I know I'm switching sports here.
I'm looking at kittles from the 49ers
out here out running niggas
and he just came off of two in the killies.
I'm like, how niggas can't catch kittles?
Kittles in the open field beating
niggins in the sprint nine months ago.
This nigga Achilles was stored.
So the technology,
the medical research that they're doing,
the rehabilitation, so on and so forth,
I wouldn't count anybody out until further notice.
But the answer your question is that, yes,
I do think O KC can hold on to get to the playoffs
and figure it out from there.
But they have a lot of options on the table.
And what you were referring to is the disabled player exception.
There you go, the disabled.
Yeah, and your numbers, like 15.04 million
and then an additional 3.7 million for case and wallets.
So they have some things that they can work with depending on, you know,
what was going to happen with the players, which we're kind of seeing.
But again, helping the best, hoping that they can return.
But they will have that option to Kim's point.
Okay.
So on to actually Jha Morant.
So now we see he's with the Trailblazers.
How big and important of a season do you think this is for Jah Mace?
Where is he at in this contract?
That's a real important factor of how important this season is for him.
because, I mean, as you're getting those numbers, I can tell you what I know thus far.
He's playing on the third year of his five-year and won 97 Rookie Max extension with their Grizzlies.
Oh, yeah.
So, yeah, this is very important for him.
This is like your sophomore year in high school, right?
If you show up that year, then your junior and senior year going to be lit.
So that's how I'm looking at it for him, even though it's in the NBA, if he is able to,
turn around and become the old job or the job of old, however you want to say it,
and what is looking like he's going to do out there in Portland,
we might be in for Paul's a treat with him and Damon Lilly,
because that's not a back court.
You want to see in the playoffs, especially they get Denny back.
This could be really interesting because these are all players that got a chip on their
shoulder, and it's nothing like playing against great players when they have that chip
on his shoulder where he have something to prove.
He has something to prove he would try to play Jai like he washed up.
He had a lot of things going on off the court.
So I think this is on a scale from 1 to 10, this is like a non in importance for Jai.
This is the year that he's in a new environment.
It's not, it shouldn't be that much to get into in Portland.
So he should be able to focus on basketball.
He's right there in Nike.
So Nike got him closed.
Portland got him close.
this should be a great season for Jai.
Jai can't be the job that was on Memphis.
Damien Lillet's not having it.
And Denny's the man right now.
If we're talking about coming off an all-star year,
somebody who's celebrated, we talked about Sagoon.
I went against Denny for Sagoon,
and Denny but Sagoon ass last season
in the playoffs, if I'm not mistaken.
And Trista was right about this,
and so I had to keep an eye on him.
Now, if Jod's ready to play a role or be in a role,
and then if they say later on we need you to be the man,
cool, I think he'll be all right.
But I don't know if he has the personality for that.
Right now, he's averaging 13 points.
Seven assists, I will say, on 52% shooting from the field,
which is decent numbers.
But is John Morant happy with averaging 13.5?
That's the question.
Now, if it's equal and wins,
then you shouldn't be mad about it,
but I don't know if you could throw the grenade
with averaging 13 points.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't know if you could sit there and shoot your gun
average of 13 points.
He's a prolific athlete and idolizer figure
for younger people,
and this is going to dumb down his character,
or I want to say character,
I'm not saying it's a character,
his image to where if he could live with it,
he like it, I love it, pause,
but it's up to him to be able to accept that.
To me, if it's coming in the winds,
then that's what matters, the wins.
And then we know Damian Lillet personally, we know he's a kind of no-nonsense type guy.
You know, he comes to work, he puts the work in.
I don't know if, you know, if he's going to sit around and joke with you, I don't know him that well.
But, you know, when I've been around, a nigga, he's a cool nigger.
And he's kind of serious.
He's, you know, not like you saying, he's militant all the time, but he's kind of a no-nonsense player.
And it looks like that's where he is with the team as well.
So we'll see.
I think the job's in a good place.
we see how they can compete on the West
the way Lucas, you know,
I've got to think about this too,
Mace, the way Luke is looking.
We see him even though he's injured.
We see how Ant Man was looking.
We see how SGA is looking.
And we're just talking about point guards on the West.
We talk about Jamal Murray.
We talk about players that emerged
during this time since John Morant
was considered a super tall.
When we talk about Jalen Brunson,
when we talk about Kay Cunningham,
can he live with 13.5?
Yeah, he can't.
We know that he can't live with 13.
He can't be doing all of this with 13.
That's what I was saying.
And three is in his blood and all that.
He can't do nothing of that.
Yeah, so.
13.
Yeah, so that's what it's about.
That like you said, to add on it's something that you said,
Portland's not Memphis.
You can't go out and do the things at nighttime in Portland
that you were doing Memphis.
It may be too slow for me.
But you're there to play basketball.
Maybe he's at the age where he's mature
and he said, you know what?
Fuck all that.
I want to win and get back to where I was at.
But that's the question for me, Stad.
I know I'm supposed to be answering the question,
but that's the question.
But if they weren't with him getting 13,
is that getting back the way he was at?
That's what I'm trying to tell you
is that you could win an hour's 13.
Is he cool with that?
Or he got to be one of them niggas.
Give me 32.
and lose.
You got to think about that.
Think about this, right?
And some people
could fall into that role.
When you think about Chet,
Chet was supposed to be the man.
Chet came out of high school,
went to Gonzaga.
He's supposed to be that nigger.
They show clips of him in high school,
shaking stuff, curry,
and camp, dunk it on niggers.
They're like, yo, when Chet get to that man,
he's going to be that nigger.
And then you have somebody named SGA come along
and turns out to be that,
that nigger.
until where Chet has to play a backseat there.
And you know what?
Chet, it's fine with that.
Chet's like, you know what, that's fine.
As long as we want it,
I'll be the second option
or the third option of Nibb of J. Dup's,
long as we want to,
and you got my couple hundred million,
let's do it.
Everybody's not able to do that.
Yeah, some people are not able to do that.
I was thinking of that same scenario.
And when you think of Chet, right,
it's a great example of people saying
somebody is practicing somewhere that you haven't met yet.
That was Wimby.
You think you're the only one you can get rid,
you can do whatever you want because you're seven two.
There's somebody somewhere seven four.
That's what people used to tell the kids in the playground.
So that's a lesson to be learned.
I guess I'll ask that kind of question for y'all, right?
So if y'all are playing, like if you're the player,
because I know we're trying to figure out exactly,
does Jah hold himself to that expectation,
or should we?
if you're a player, what's more important to you?
Do you want to be like the best on that team or you just want to be, you just want to win as a whole?
It's ideal if you could be a major contributor on a championship team.
But you're from the ghetto, you know, as long as I get mine.
I'm leaving here with suck.
I'm leaving here with suck.
Yeah.
I mean, if you have to take 13 and we're winning,
I'll play the role, but if we ain't winning,
I need to be 26 and above, man.
That's fair.
That's a great point, you know what I'm saying?
Because like Mays just said, it's like, you know,
I play for a very, like, I don't want to say, like,
that's not the word.
I play for a very no-nonsense organization.
You know what I'm saying?
So you had coaches who would let you do your thing.
and then you have coaches, you have to run the plays
and do all this other shit for when I played for the gauchos.
And so when we played against teams like Mesa's team,
young life, and they had a young coach
and they came in the gym with everybody,
and everybody was like, oh, ho!
Like, people don't know, right?
If you live in New York, if you get, whoa,
that's like seven points, one whoa,
even though it doesn't show up in the stat book,
but if you shake somebody, that's what, whoa,
Oh, do you get that?
That's worth something.
Because you can sit there and lose the game.
They'd be like, no, you see when he caught the nigger?
Caught the nigger.
Oh, yeah, he went crazy.
He went crazy.
Then if you lose and have 50, you're like, yo,
a nigger had 50 on them niggas, though.
He ain't had no help.
All that comes in the plate.
Yeah, he had no help.
Yeah, all that start coming in the plate.
If you're from like Mesa of you in the hood, that matters.
But you have people who sacrifice for a bigger,
Go.
You know, my favorite example of this all the time, and he put itself as the sixth man,
is Man of Genoblee.
Man Genoble is supposed to start in that Spurs team.
No if, ends or but it's about it.
But he knew for the better of the team, it's better for him coming off the bench.
I think his first couple of years, he started, then he's like, you know what?
We're coming, I'm coming off the bench, so we have some firepower coming off the bench, and it worked for the Spurs.
So, you know, you have different scenarios, but if we're talking about the overall,
achievement of winning,
I'm going to play the role to win,
especially if we're talking about the NBA,
because then it's all the type of shit that comes with it.
I don't know how many times the time
he was six million out of year, if he was or whatever.
We've seen Jamal Crawford get it.
We've seen Peppellup and Peppaloo
because they knew when they came into the game,
they're going to make a difference.
Everybody can't do that, though.
Okay.
Next team.
More injuries.
Paulo, which this was your guy at some point, no, right?
The magic?
Paulo.
I got to ask.
I got to ask.
I just said that he was a good play on.
He wasn't.
I'm like, I remember some things.
That one I fully remember.
I'm just asking.
And you're wearing blue, so you can't say it's not a color.
I'm just asking.
Just asking.
You're correct.
Okay.
Okay.
Just asking.
Anyways, Follo is out four to six weeks with an ankle sprain.
And Jalen Sugg is out too with a mild bone bruise.
So Suggs actually avoided any other major structural damage.
So Mace, what's your opinion?
I know it's still early on the magic.
What do we think about this?
How much do we think this impacts the team?
I got a way.
I got a look, Stack, because I was telling killer something.
And I got to see if it's true.
I'm just looking.
That's fair.
Kim, you want to see his sneakers?
Who's sneakers?
Paulo.
Everybody with low-cut, so I'm pretty sure it's low-cut.
Well, are they Adidas?
They're Jordans.
Okay.
I'm really ready to start petitioning low-top sneakers.
I got to do it, you know?
All of these injuries, I'm looking at the sneakers, they're low-cut sneakers.
I don't know who started this.
The mum will start this, Kobe Bryant?
That I remember.
Yeah, rest and peace, Kobe.
Kobe Hood winked a lot of y'all, man.
we was wearing two pounds of tape and you guys are walking out there with a little bit of tape
on with your ankle out and then you run while you're getting injured and I'm not really laughing
at the injury just it's just the mindset of thinking you can do all of these things with low-cut
sneakers is it's never good because the way you land your knee be one way your ankle is positioned
another way people are not landing correctly and that's what we've seen and it's hard
to argue against this when every single person that you're watching are having on low top sneakers.
It's hard to argue against it.
Now, he got some really good sneakers.
The Jordan Air series, the triangle Paulos is fire.
But I want to see these guys get healthy.
If y'all can, Chris Paul, if you could show them the manual of how to not make low top but not high top.
Chris Paul used to make a sneaker that just go right above low top.
and it kept him safe.
So I think that's something we need to really look into.
And this is horrible for the Orlando Magic.
If they don't have anything else, they have Apollo.
And not to have him there, I don't know what they have.
Sugs Ethan.
What kind of sneakers is J.W.
It's that real quick, if you know.
James Hart.
I think it's Adidas, yeah.
So let me get this right.
No laughing.
No laughing.
I'm not laughing.
I'm not laughing.
And nobody's injury.
Yeah.
Ant Man, who wears Adidas, is out for two months indefinitely.
Jay Doug, we just seen what happened.
I pointed this out last year, you know.
Derek Rose.
The list goes on.
We could go to Derek Rose.
We could go to John Wall.
We could go to the list goes.
goes on and on and on.
I can say his name, many plays.
Bassi's mad at him.
Yeah.
The list goes on.
Kevin Ware, the guy whose bone came out of his skin when he played for Louisville from number six.
He said to come on the show bad to tell his story about this.
But...
Is his story about the Adidas or...
He wants to tell it.
He wants to tell about what happened.
Yeah.
Yeah, let's have him up there.
Yeah, he's ready to come up.
So it just doesn't look good for the brand.
Back to Palo, I mean, Suggs being out and Pilo, if I'm pronouncing it wrong, doesn't look
good, but to Mesa's point, maybe some new stars will emerge.
I don't know if we're trying to think positive, you know.
Maybe we'll see finding new superstar out there, son.
We try to think.
It's going to emerge.
Yeah, but everybody we're talking about,
I definitely wish them there in my prayers
and I wish them a speedy recovery,
but it's just so sad to see,
because the NBA is built on stars.
So when you build these stars up,
and they're not there, it's a disappointment.
Especially the kids of fans who got season tickets
or tickets prior to the season starting for games
that they want to see.
And that's what the NBA does.
Like I was saying,
Mace, I said this about the Sixers in the preseason, and then I've seen it with Dallas as well.
When you're watching the highlights on FS1 or ESPA, whatever it is, they're building the stars up so bad that they're actually showing all their highlights.
And then when you look at the score at the end of the game, they lost.
I see Cooper flagged this. Cooper flag, Cooper flag, Cooper flag.
Dallas loses 108 to 101.
Yo, my nigger, why you keep showing?
Do you go to show highlights of the team who won?
No, the NBA builds superstars
And that's what they're doing around certain players
So when your favorite superstar
Is not there or not or whatever
Are we talking about Kaua?
Oh yeah, well yeah
I know Maurice wants to talk about it so we'll wait
But this is more of the same
Think about who we're talking about right here
We're talking about J-dub
All-Star NBA champion
Talking about Wallace
I don't know if he's on that championship team
We're talking about Kauau.
We're talking about Ant Man.
We're talking about Palo.
Pio, pardon me.
Paolo.
Paolo.
And it's just a shame for me because I don't want to say, I don't know who's next.
I hope nobody's next.
But this is what happens when you make players bigger than the team.
Yeah.
And then to add, I know we started with the Adidas,
but the players who wore them were Gilbert,
Tracy McGrady, Derek Rose, John Wall, Dame.
Tracy McGradie.
RG3.
RG3.
My goodness.
I mean.
Yeah.
So do you think it's a, do you think is conspiracy or do you think it's really something in the shoes?
What conspiracy are you referring to?
What are you talking about conspiracy?
How would it be a conspiracy?
I'm just saying to be non-biased for the people, right?
Because sometimes people may think we're being biased, but I don't have anything against Adidas.
I don't need that.
I'm just trying to, I don't have anything against them.
Only time I was something against them when they came at our show for no reason we were showing love.
But we fixed that situation, but the point being is this.
What I'm saying is this, when you say conspiracy, that's something that people may think
that may not be true.
We're not biased.
We're reading what happened.
This is actually what happened.
I never saw you in Adidas.
Only one time.
What?
Last time when you was at the race thing.
Yeah, for a real, that's what I'm saying,
for a real thing.
But you know, growing up all the years,
I never saw, you've been a Nike guy, your whole year.
My white Nike dude, Adidas, I had forms one time.
They used to hurt my feet, the farms.
You know, when you bought up Chris Paul with the sneaker,
it made me think I want some three-quarter Delta Force.
Three-quarter Delta Force was fired me.
Yeah, but I might have some, I'll definitely have Ditas.
I remember I wanted shell toes because Run DMC had them,
but my foot was too small to get them at the time.
I definitely had some Stan Smiths.
Everybody had some Stan Smiths.
I never wore Yeezys.
You haven't?
It's crazy.
You wore easies?
Yeah, if they're free.
No, not a nigga who make them suck dick.
I didn't know if you was cool.
It was dishonor.
I know how you, you know, you got to you.
I didn't know that.
I didn't know that.
I didn't know that.
I didn't know that around the time when I was with.
I was like that.
Yeah, that is.
I ain't knocking nobody what they're doing their own time.
I just know for him, that's blast for me almost.
Yeah, that's great.
And sips water to that.
Okay, this next one,
Jayland Dern is out.
I did a song with the name.
Yeah.
Yeah, he gave you a high beat.
When you took the beat, you didn't know.
I didn't know, though.
You didn't know.
Would you still took the beat?
Yeah.
What took the beat?
I took the beat.
The whole thing is...
I think a beat from somebody who's gay right now.
I don't mean I'm affiliated with him.
Am I wearing the clothes?
We wear the clothes all the time.
You wear Tom Ford.
You wear Versace.
You wear all these people who's designers who's openly gay and nobody.
So then you could wear their shoes.
That's what I thought it was against justice.
I just said I never had a pet.
But it's all type of designers that's openly gay and we wear it all the time.
Thanks.
Okay.
Jalen Duren, he's out for two weeks with the hamstring strain injury.
Mace.
How much do you think he impacts the team?
How are we feeling about the piston?
We don't really, we haven't really talked about them too too much.
Yeah, realistically, we haven't talked about the piston other than them paying them.
And if this is what happens when he gets paid, it makes people question the pay.
Like, you just were saying you need to get paid, right?
Is this the same guy, right?
And then they get the money together and they pay him.
And now he's out.
It's just, I don't want to talk against a man's money.
This is Detroit.
I love Detroit.
Detroit has always been good to me.
So I feel obligated to be good back to Detroit.
We got to fix this.
This is one of them almost come on my nigger moments.
But I'm not going to make it a come on my nigger moment
because he's still playing really good.
I hope he gets well and I hope he returns back strong.
How many All-Stars out?
The All-Star list is crazy right now.
Yeah.
Paulo is out.
Jalen Durrins out.
Ant-Men's out.
J. Dub is out.
This is just starting to get crazy.
Kawaz out.
Yeah.
It's crazy, man.
Listen.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, I'm saying, man.
Yeah, but it's ridiculous.
And I can't see it and say, listen, man, you know, we give a lot of people over the seasons we've been shooting.
I don't want to say a hard time, but, you know, we're more disciplined.
We talk shit because, you know, that's what niggas doing the hood.
They talk shit in the bar.
barbershops or anything else.
But I really want these players to get healthy.
But for everybody to be so injured and it hasn't been five games, it's just, it's amazing.
Like, yo, it's five games in, if that.
Some teams are two games.
Some teams are two games.
I don't even think everybody got the five yet.
This many people are out for months and the season.
This is really disappointing, man.
Speedy recovery to him too.
So what's his injury?
It's a hamstring strain.
You know who's still playing Anthony Davis?
He's in there.
We can't say nothing right now.
Yeah, I didn't hear anything about Anthony Davis this season.
It's only four games, man.
He's playing so far that I know about he's been playing.
And he's been doing well as well.
Yeah, he has.
Because even in the Hornets, I mean, 30.0 assists with 10 rebounds.
So, you know, I just feel like the wizards aren't necessarily on you guys's radar, maybe yet,
which is also fair because looking at these other teams that we're saying,
saying a lot of, well, I talked about, pardon me, I said, I think last week or the week before last,
I don't know if it was a sleeper team or a team to look out for.
We definitely put them on a team to look out for.
You think about this, right?
You got Trey Young, you got Anthony Davis, then you got DeBriy.
to the rookie. Then you got a veteran, Chris Middleton, who won the championship. This is a team
that you should keep an eye on, especially with all these injuries going around. They may sneak up
and do something if they stay healthy. Mace, do you agree? Is this a team that you're keeping an eye on
or we don't? Tidal Town doesn't approve. What do we think? I like this team. This was a team I was
expecting to do very well. Honestly, I'm expecting them to do very well. So I know you're just talking about
Jalen Dern and then him, you know, making the comments about wanting to get paid.
I think that brings us to a conversation with Kat, because I know the Knicks aren't off
to the best start, but they did just get their first win versus the Pistons.
Kat has been blown out.
He had over 25 points doing pretty good.
What more do you think Kat has to do to get paid?
Do you think he should hold out?
Like, what is this business decision that you think makes the most sense for him?
I think if they're not able to pay Kat, Kat is going to end up going somewhere because
He already got a ring.
After you get a ring, money is the number one topic for most players
because you follow this elusive ring that you won at your whole life since you were a kid.
You end up popping the champagne, pause, you see the confetti fall,
you're standing on the stage with the championship trophy.
After that, it's money time.
So to come back after getting the ring and not get paid is a debacle for New York.
York, and I think it's showing in their play.
When you don't take care of the people who got you there, it starts going against the team,
just energy-wise, because if somebody's not getting paid, it's hard to keep going to
working, you're not getting paid, you know?
I mean, I could testify to that.
People say, yo, why you quit?
I mean, they're not paying me.
It's going to be hard to keep showing up for work, doing major work, and you're not getting paid,
especially if your work is a major part of the whole company doing well.
And got to pay cat, man.
James Donner said, I got mine.
Do what y'all going to do?
That's exactly the bar.
Yeah.
Do what you're going to do, man.
What I will say is this right?
Think about it, right?
Let's think about this.
And I use this example.
And since says this a lot to it.
And sometimes I'll be like.
Like, let's get the money.
And sometimes Sen is right when it comes to this.
Let's just use Bruce Brown, right?
And Colwell Pope.
They won that championship with Denver.
And then they just went off.
Now did they get more money?
Not a few million more, but they just became like,
where's he at?
Like, you might be turning the game like Orlando.
What the fuck Carlwell Pope doing over there?
Then you turn on Toronto.
Well, you know, Bruce Brown is in Toronto.
What's what fucking going on?
Wait a minute, next season.
Bruce Brown is Indiana.
What's going on?
To the point where right now, the Knicks just waived Bruce Brown.
I don't know if you got picked up, but they waived him last week.
Now, if you would have stayed with that Denver team, you would have been a key asset there
and probably would have still had a job there unless they had to trade you or something.
But you went to get the bread, Colwell Pope too.
You know, he's in Philly right now.
You know, that's not a bad place to be.
But it's also about comfortability and how much.
money is going to make you happy.
Now, if you're playing like Mace said,
remember, I won't use the rapist's name.
Because me, Mace, and sent on the phone.
And we were talking about if somebody from
Dubai was going to pay Mace
$4 million to do a 30-minute show.
Mace's like, do I get this? Do I get this? Do I get this? Do I
get this? And he said, yeah.
He said, I'll do it for $4 million.
And then Sin named another rapper that wasn't up to par with Mace.
He said, well, if you get six million.
They said, oh, hell, no, nah.
I'm not doing that show.
If he gets six million, I'm getting four.
And his exact quote was,
the colonel got to get the biggest piece of chicken.
Hey.
Hey, you can understand that status.
Can you understand that?
You break it down.
It's like if you find out a young lady that's less than your status is getting paid more,
do you keep accepting less?
I mean, I feel like you should never accept less.
That's my thought process.
But definitely if you find out a girl from Miami-U is now making this amount.
Yeah.
It does change things.
Yeah, I mean, that happens and like everybody has different paths,
But that's also why it's like, you never know how it's going to go.
You never know how it's going to go.
I'm like thinking of a perfect example, but I'm not going to do that.
But there's some people just like situationally to like I can't knock the system if that's what they know or who they know.
All right.
So if a girl from Miami, you is coming to the sports show.
She comes to it is what it is.
and you said that on certain days, they're paying her up here.
Yeah.
Are you going to accept here?
No.
Why not?
Because, well, but it's both, like,
now that you know it, now that you know it's like no, but at the same time, her situation.
Like, that's why I'm like, if she did it, shout out to you.
Okay.
I just got to do better.
I like that.
I like that.
That's how I think.
Because, I mean, same way in situations with, like, nepotism, I'm not going to be like,
dang, like, he knew so-and-so, and so now he got that opportunity.
and I didn't. I'm not going to be mad about somebody else's opportunity.
Oh, no, we're not, I'm not mad at this opportunity. I'm just not getting paid off.
But as a whole, no, that's when like I understand what you're saying, but at the same time, you got a vouch for yourself.
You can't just expect it because somebody else got it. That's my thought process about it.
What do you mean by vouch for you?
Like, if this, if you know this other player, like say I'm better than this player and they're getting paid more than me,
I think you also have to vouch for yourself because, I mean, teams, agents are behind so many decisions.
So, I mean, just walking away, it's like you've got to vouch for yourself first.
Then after that, then you can make the decision.
That's what I would say.
So that's what Kat is doing.
He's bawling.
He's catching rebounds.
He's dunking rebounds.
He wasn't doing all of that before.
Maybe they lit the fire on them.
Which at the same time is a good thing because this is like what people especially want consistently.
Like I know you were talking about McKell Bridges earlier and we were seeing because I wouldn't say he's an average player.
I don't think you necessarily said that.
I think you said other players on the team are average.
He's still a good player.
He's just inconsistent.
And what we wanted more from him in the playoffs,
we didn't necessarily see until certain games.
So I'm like, if that lights a fire and that gets you going,
now I feel like especially after the ring,
now you can really talk your age.
Yeah.
I heard something when you said that, stat.
Good inconsistent is average.
Okay.
That's what average is.
You're good, but you're just inconsistent.
Fair.
Things happen.
I don't know.
It's situational. It's very situational, my opinion.
Nick, this was a six-minute line step.
I was in the middle of a whole take, and it was like a six-minute line step.
I didn't even say anything about it.
I was talking about something, and then he just took over my take and turned into a whole
conversation.
And I sat here and listened to it, but I wasn't even finished.
Hands up. You're right.
I know, I'm right.
You are.
They can see you.
I'm not going to keep saying that.
They can see you.
Take and see.
This was a six to seven minute
last step, but I love y'all.
So this is fine with me.
It's all good.
Take my take and just say,
we're going to take your take
and just make a whole new take
on what you was just talking about.
No problem, man.
But anyway, like I was saying,
if y'all remember out there,
if you even remember what I was talking about.
Yeah, that was wild that.
hashtag accountability
it was both of us
and I said
Cam is right
and my hands are up
and you're still
why stepping like him to oh
I was trying to pass it
back to you Paul
so you could get it back to Cam
but
no what happened is
I'm going to tell you how it wasn't even
you stat it was amazing
once I said what he said
about the kernel of victory
it triggered something
and he started to
let you know
but what I was going to say
is being that we're here
regardless
us. Since point is this, but you was happy with what you was getting before you found out
that somebody was getting more than you. So how come you just can't, this is what he's saying.
I agree with what you said. I'm better than this person, I should be getting more. But his question
is, and I'm asking you this question, Mace, if you was already happy with the number you're
getting, why are you so mad if this person's getting a million more than you, even though
he's not better. You was already happy.
So now why are you not happy?
It's not about not being
happy. You can still be happy.
You're just understanding
that more was made available.
It's almost like an
artist, right? And you
know this, Cam. Let's say
you're on tour. And
you're in the middle of the tour
and you're doing your
tour. And then next week you drop a record.
And now that record is number
one in the country.
you might not be able to be on this tour for that amount no more
because your stardom has exploded.
The person they agreed with,
I'm not even that person no more.
The money has changed.
You're under contract basically.
I do understand.
I'm just telling you this is what the NBA,
this is the new mindset of the NBA.
Like people are not showing up for spring training, right?
They do that.
That's awesome, but the ad one doing it.
They do that all the time for football.
Yeah, spring training.
He got hot.
Pause.
Now he's saying, I can't show up for that money.
I know we agreed on that money, but today I'm a different person.
So I'm trying to, you know, understand the culture.
Basically what I told sin is this and what you're trying and what you are saying.
And to shorten up, what you're saying is I understand my value.
Yeah.
And that's just in a nutshell.
His value can't be this more than my value.
And that's just, and that's that in the nutshell.
We're not going to be long-winded about it.
I know my values up here,
and his should not be here should be over here.
How is he here?
So it's just understanding your value and not settling for less.
True.
Listen.
Okay, y'all.
And the last thing before we wrap, because, you know,
we've got to talk about the WMBA finals,
but right now there's a lot going on because of the timing of the finals.
So the Valcaries versus the Dream game six was moved from prime time to early Thursday
because of scheduling conflicts, because basically, the Atlanta Hawks have a game later that day.
So it wouldn't give them enough time, allegedly, to transition and make what's needed to be done happen.
So the game is set to take place 1230 Eastern, 9.30 a.m. Pacific.
So, Mace, do you think this holds back?
Like, what is your thoughts on this?
This is a lot, you know.
Are you talking about 9 o'clock in the morning?
Yeah, 9.30 a.m.
If you're on the West Coast.
Pacific.
Second time football come on.
12 o'clock
On Sundays
Come on 10 o'clock
What day is this going to be on?
Thursday
Is there fine?
Yeah, that's different though
It's a Thursday
People are just getting to school
They're going to miss the game
That's crazy
That's wild disrespectful
This lets you know
They didn't plan on them winning
They didn't plan on them winning
I think if this is the case
They should have the game
They should have the game
somewhere else
but they need home court advantage.
What happened if they do it later?
Is it a Atlanta Hawks game or something?
Yeah, the game is later,
so they're just saying with scheduled conflicts,
they aren't going to be able to make that work.
And apparently, like, the Hawks had agreed to push Tiff Boff back to APM to accommodate,
but they still don't have enough time and hours to transition between both events.
Wow.
This is super disrespectful for the WNBA.
I mean, y'all want to play the game.
game or not. This is the time we got. This is the time you're going to go at. That kind of that conversation
is crazy. I don't know what to say to that. That's wild disrespectful, especially this is the
championship game, and this is the game that's going to decide the champions. So let's say they win,
they lose it, then people may be saying, oh, because we had to play this early game. Our fans
wasn't there. People are going to be at work. Who's really going to be at the game? This is going
be like a COVID bubble game, right? Because if it's that early, people got to take off work.
I don't know if people love it that much, but, you know, there's going to be a lot of people there,
especially Atlanta Dream, go Atlanta Dream. I hope they win it, bring the championship back to the
city. But this is disrespectful. They should push back the Atlanta game. Well, you don't have to work
why don't you go? You'll be there.
I second that.
I would love that.
That would be so great.
Don't you go support?
You're not working.
Or have school.
Get an orange hoodie with the WMBA symbol on.
That's support.
Yeah.
I'll think about it.
I don't think about it.
You're working red for the dreams that you like Atlanta.
That means you're not going to support.
If you're thinking about it, you talk.
You talk all that shit
Go support your beat like here
You're going to check out what's going
I'll see what's going on
I'll see what's happening this Sunday, man
You got to tell your followers this is because they're going to be there
If you're not going to be in man
This is crazy
I'll leave that alone
But the second one may said they had no
intentions of thinking that
Atlanta would be in the championship
And they already moved games around.
I remember they was trying to, in the beginning of this series,
they was trying to move it to some school or some shit.
I forget what it was.
But it was wild disrespectful to where they was trying to move it
to the first couple games that they had there.
It was like, yo, what do you mean y'all moving in here?
So the land of Hawks and whatever else they,
no, it's not just a Hulk game, not a Hawk game every night.
They're moving stuff around to accommodate them with Tom's and so on and so forth.
But if it ain't the Hawks game, it's mad disrespectful.
You know what Sin said?
What?
Nigger say, and I'm not saying this, because y'all would say,
and said, Sin is disrespectful.
Sin said, no, we can't have y'all play here.
We got a PTA meeting here tonight.
That's it.
I have questions for saying.
We can talk.
We can really talk.
What do you mean the PTA mean?
That's how, like.
He's basically saying that's how unimportant it is to the Atlanta organization.
To the arena's organization.
Yeah, what?
Well, I wouldn't tell them to play here, but...
Why?
Like, they should play at the main arena.
So, so...
That's my argument.
So can you push the Atlanta game to another day?
Well, why didn't they just say, let's make the game Friday?
More people can come, and it's a championship game,
and then I probably could be there if it was a Friday.
Now, I agree with that,
because that was one of the potential options that they can move it to Friday
and then move that final game, if necessary, to Sunday.
but apparently they want that final game if necessary on that Halloween day.
I don't know why.
They want the final game on Halloween.
If necessary, that game seven on Halloween day.
That's what they want.
So they wanted it to be finals game Thursday.
And then if game seven necessary, then that extra day, that Friday, then Saturday.
Where at?
I think then it would go back to the bay.
Yeah.
They just want to be wild on that day.
Who am I?
I didn't say none of that sense that.
So before y'all start trying to troll me, I'll just say, if you got anybody to be mad at,
be mad at whoever is running the arena for not having faith in y'all.
And that's just that.
I remember this happened before with the next years or years ago, maybe 20 years ago,
Vince McMahon booked something for WWF or WWE in the garden, and he didn't think the Knicks
was going to get as far as they was, and they had to push Vince McMahon shit out.
shit out. Visiting Man went on a tear.
Talk about, see, New York,
James Don't didn't even believe in y'all.
He gave me your date.
It didn't even think he went on a tear.
He went crazy because he wanted that date for Smackdown or WrestleMania.
Whatever it was, this is what happens.
People book the arena for other things,
not believing in the team that plays there at home.
What happened that year that it was a New York Liberty in there?
I think they ended up playing at the Brooklyn.
Well, the Liberty started at the Garden.
they didn't want me to go for a while.
Then they went up to Westchester.
Basically, the YMCA,
I think it was like 2,500 seats or something like that.
And then the Barclay Center said,
you know what, this could be your home.
So that's what happened.
They play in Brooklyn there, the Liberty.
Yeah, might have to do that, playing Charlotte.
I need to make it right.
These girls have been working so hard.
This is a great series.
Obviously, you're seeing a lot of stars.
See Angel Reese's potential
to get her first chip,
and then we see how well the Valky's have been playing,
especially considering that they have just been expand.
Like, this is a new expansive team.
Second year.
Exactly, even the fact that they got this far,
like both monumental on both sides.
So I don't care.
Atlanta didn't make it right.
I don't like that.
That's not cool.
Why can't they play Friday in Atlanta
and then Sunday at in Golden State?
I'm going to be honest with you, right.
And I'm not saying any of it is cool.
No, no, no.
No, I'm not disagreeing with you.
I'm talking in favor for the WMBA, right?
They've been doing these girls for years
of miscarriage of justice when it comes to scheduling.
Because most of their games on Sundays
during football season.
So for years, even Michael Irvin alluded to it,
I think last season on the season before last when he was up there.
Why are you scheduling, and I know we're down to the championship,
maybe this is part of the reason that you don't have good ratings.
They act like Halloween, but you don't want to have their championship game with not good ratings,
knowing that football is on Sunday.
And for years, they've been scheduling these girls' game on Sundays, knowing that nothing beats football,
not even men's basketball.
So female basketball, I always been like, yo, I may want to see this game,
but I can't miss this game because I have to report on this game tomorrow for the show.
So for years, they've been doing them a miscarriage of justice as far as scheduling is concerned anyway.
Yeah
unfortunate
But the WMBA girls
Shoot we support y'all
Hopefully they figure it out
Because they hey
They play with y'all
We don't like it
Here it is what it is
We don't like it
But y'all
That is all the time that we have
For today
Thank y'all for watching
And as always
It is what it is
Before you knew what a stock was
You traded snacks
Cards
Turns
That instinct to trade
Didn't disappear
It just grew up
With no minimums
