along with your hosts Mase and Cam.
Killer was good, man.
Was good, man, how you doing, man?
Really good, man.
That's what's up.
How you doing, Stat?
I'm great, thanks for asking.
Are you going on a Galentine?
Yeah, actually, Galentine's is like the thing.
What is that?
It's when the girls go celebrate that.
No.
You don't like niggas, so you go out with the girls.
It's when the-
May I just go to court?
The girls, Galentine's.
Galentine's.
I know, girl.
You never heard of that before?
A Galentine's?
What's the difference if it's all girls?
Because we're not pursuing each other.
Why even throw a tanz on it?
Why y'all can't say girls night hang out?
Because that's different.
No, because the purpose of the Galentines
is when you don't go with your valentine,
you go with the gals.
No?
No?
He's always making shit up day after day.
Yeah, he's young.
Yeah.
Every day.
Yo, who pays for it?
Us. So you put the cards in, who pays for it? Us.
So you put the cars and the hat and all that?
Yeah.
So do you have a Valentine too?
You can.
Do you?
You can.
I don't.
I'm just saying like this.
I've never heard of this holiday.
Is it on the same day as Valentine's?
You can celebrate it whenever you want to,
but usually you celebrate it early if you have Valentine's.
So you can celebrate in October?
No.
Say whenever I want.
In the week of Valentine's...
On the 13th, 12th, 15th...
It's like the festive, like, when all the hearts
and the teddy bears are up, the girls go out.
That's a thing.
If you don't have a Galentine,
y'all gotta start getting on that wave.
Same way y'all teach me things, I'm teaching y'all.
You said something about a wooly. I don't even know what thatine, y'all gotta start getting on that wave. Same way y'all teach me things, I'm teaching y'all.
You said something about a wooly.
I don't even know what that is.
You shouldn't even know what a wooly is.
You don't want to know what the wooly is.
You'll miss your Galentine.
I'm being honest with you.
The company she keeps, she should know what a wooly is.
She's been around a wooly
and probably doesn't know she's been around a wooly.
Trust me.
She's been around wooly before. I know people she's hung's been around a wooly. Trust me. She's like, what's that smell? She's been around wooly before.
Yeah, did you tell them what's that smell?
I know people she's hung out with that smoke wooly.
That's crazy, because I don't know what that even is.
Yeah.
Exactly, that's what I want to tell you, B.
A wooly is coke and weed or whatever mixed with weed.
Yeah.
And it isn't just weed.
You think they just pass you a joint.
You know what, matter of fact, let me change the course.
In Miami it's called bunk.
You bunk, bunk, or you smoking bunk or bunk or whatever.
I don't know what that is, but the more you learn, I guess.
Okay, so yes, you guys should try it if you haven't.
Okay.
Why would a guy try gallon times
as if it were a girl?
I'm talking to the audience.
It could be a guy or a girl.
It's all niggas in the room and you like this.
That's what I was like.
Be out of the face.
It's the guy.
I'm the audience.
Side of time.
Listen, y'all.
I don't know.
I enjoy a Galentine.
You all dressed up for Valentine to go out with each other.
No, never mind.
Scratch the whole concept.
No, the whole thing is Scratch the whole concept.
Like you said, I like to learn if it don't make sense to me
that I can be like, this just sound like a girl night out
if you ask me.
Yeah, really.
Teddy bears and hearts.
Teddy bears.
No, it's not the same thing.
It's different.
That's what I'm taking away from you.
It's different.
Okay, so we're actually gonna start with the Nets.
They beat the Sixers 100 to 96.
Kelly Oubre and Quentin Grimes dropped 30 points each,
but all eyes are on Paul George's two points
in 37 minutes of playtime.
Mace, how are you feeling?
I knew you was gonna say Mace.
Mace, what do you think?
Paul George, listen here, man.
You got my name out here bad, bro, for real.
The gold is off the table.
The gold is off the table, like for real, yo.
The gold is off the table.
What was the young boy name down there in Charlotte?
He's a really good player.
Y'all gotta start with this gold stuff.
I know even Kyan was looking at him. He's a really good player. Y'all gotta start with this GOAT stuff.
I know even Kyann was looking at him.
Kyann Anthony, yep.
Yeah, Anthony was saying that Paul George could be the GOAT.
Brandon Miller, shout out to Brandon Miller.
We gotta start with this GOAT stuff.
Like, Stad was doing, the young people making up all this stuff.
Y'all gotta chill out.
What?
Y'all gotta chill out. Two points, man.
Shout out to the podcast, though.
The podcast booming.
I don't know if they're paying them for the podcast.
Shout out to Pete. Pete, come on, man.
You got my name out here crazy, man.
I'm up here saying you the new goat.
You got me looking bad, man.
My expert, they ready to take my expert pin, man.
Kill it what you think, man. I don't know what to say.
It's your man.
It's your man.
It's your man.
This how this all became your man, pause,
because I gave the real truth
when Niggaz was talking about he was the girl.
And I was like, yo, you gotta stop this shit.
He hasn't been to a championship.
He hasn't been to a, maybe I'm thinking, y'all think he been to a championship. He hasn't been to a, maybe, I'm thinking,
I don't think he's been to a conference.
Finals, let alone a championship, all this goat shit.
And they talking about, you know,
it's the style of the playing, all this.
Listen, man, this was your man.
I'm gonna keep it a hundred, Murda.
I'm a little disappointed in you.
He's not my man.
I'm just saying, I'm gonna be honest, Murda.
I'm disappointed in you because... I was keeping it peaceful. That's what I'm not in you. He's not my man. I'm just saying, I'm gonna be honest but I'm disappointed in you because.
I was keeping him peaceful.
That's what I'm not used to.
That's why I'm disappointed.
That's why I'm a little disappointed in you.
When you seen him, you call me like, nah, podcast P is I,
the play up, whatever his name is.
He said, oh, nah, he cool nigga.
Usually if a nigga run down, you like, yo,
get ahead with all that.
I was smoothing it over, I thought you was
taking a new leaf, you know?
He didn't run down on me.
He saw you and he was like, nah, you all right.
I would have told him, I ain't been in no championship.
I don't mean I don't like him as a person,
it's the same shit with other players.
I think he's actually a great person, just looking at it, I don't know him that a person. It's the same shit with other players. I think he's actually a great person just looking.
I don't know him that well.
But the GOAT shit is kind of wild
because why I can't beat a GOAT.
This is why you can't beat a GOAT.
Yeah, that was the question, why you can't beat a GOAT.
This is exactly why you can't beat a GOAT.
Because, look, listen, and I know Bibi saying shit
and it sounds funny, but this is not really a funny situation.
You got Tyrese Maxey out there just going like a madman. He was hurt for a few games during the season.
Joylum Bede is halfway playing.
We don't know if he's even injured or not injured.
He talking about he may need surgery, et cetera, et cetera.
It got to the point the other night,
he had an open shot, didn't take it,
and the fans of Philadelphia started boring him.
When you get the fans of Philadelphia to go against you,
it is a long road to recovery to get them back on your side.
And it isn't just having one good game.
When them Philly fans turn on you, they turn on you.
Mase, what do you think about trust the process?
You can answer that when I'm done.
The trust the process shit is out the window.
What process, what formula of the process are we on now?
Back to Paul George, listen, two points, 37 minutes.
You see that stat, you would sit there and say,
I ain't play a lot, or you got hurt or whatever.
You play more than three quarters.
You play more than three quarters.
I know that general management, shout out to my nigga,
and Brandon, because that's a good friend of mine,
shout out to the ownership in Philly.
Y'all are pissed.
Y'all are pissed.
Let me see, I pulled it up here.
So this year, Murda, he's making 49 million.
Yeah, that's what I was about to talk about.
Next year, he's making 51 million.
The year after that, 26, 27, 54 million,
then 27, 28, 56 and a half million. Do $27 million, $28 million, $56.5 million.
Do you think he's gonna get better as time goes along?
I don't think so.
So you're looking at way over $200 million
to two investors this offseason
into two points, 37 minutes,
when Joe LMB isn't there,
Ty B. Maxey isn't playing,
and they're saying, okay, we're gonna give it to Playoff P. This is a terrible investment.
One of the worst investments I've seen in recent history.
Since Madoff.
This might be as bad as Madoff.
This is a bad thing, yeah.
Yeah, this might be a pausey.
It might be.
This might be a pausey.
You might be right, Martin.
Everybody back in New York know what we talking about. This might be the craziest you might be right, Martin. This might be a project.
Back in New York, know what we talking about.
This might be the craziest thing since May though.
200 million for two points.
More than 200.
Yeah, man, he's averaging,
average salary is about 52 million a year.
Close to 53 for two points, man.
We gotta do something better.
And that's why Philly is born.
Cause they wanna win.
And then when people talk about trust the process,
just a race process, ain't no trust.
There's nothing to trust.
There's no trust out the window.
You can't trust when people are doing this, man, for real.
Like, what are we gonna trust?
We can trust, like, Joel and B not to be there.
We can trust Paul George to do what?
Right now, all we can trust is Maxie, man.
That's a fact.
Maxie is the only one we can trust up there.
That's a whole fact, and I like that slogan.
Take the process out, and we can't trust enough the only one we could trust up there. That's a whole fact. And I like that slogan.
Take the process out and we can't trust nothing
as far as...
Nothing to trust up there.
...as far as Philly is concerned.
And what's the arm gym's name again?
And he's used to doing really good work.
Oh, yeah, it's L.M. Brand now.
Yeah, shout out to L.M. Brand.
What am I saying?
L.M. Brand, y'all can't be doing this to L.M. Brand.
That's home team, man. I've just seen L.M. Brand at Brownie be doing this to Elton Brand, that's home team, man. Yeah, I just seen Elton Brand at Brownie Pro Day,
and you know, that's home team.
Like, you said, that's what all niggas niggas...
Can't be doing that to Elton Brand, man.
Yeah, and, um...
last thing I'll say about it is,
because I really like the made-off.
I was trying to think of something.
Made-off.
Yeah, this is a puns...
that the players of Philadelphia outside of Philadelphia outside of Tyrese Maxxia
are doing.
But it's bad, man.
It's really bad.
But this also goes back to something, Murda,
that you said last season.
Keep the main thing the main thing.
And when the main thing ain't the main thing,
it ain't, you know, the main thing suffers.
Because I know one thing, I bet you a new episode
will be out in a week or less, more than likely.
What was worse, Paul George getting two
or Serena Crip walking?
Well, I see Serena Crip walking one of our tennis matches,
so I'm gonna say Paul George getting two.
This isn't new for Serena. She's from Compton.
Okay.
Yeah, she did do that.
She's a champion.
Yeah, she's from Titletown.
She's from Titletown.
I was just asking y'all.
The real Titletown.
The real, real Titletown.
Yeah, we give her a pass. She's from Titletown.
And she's from Compton.
And she's from Compton.
Straight up.
She won the championship at Critwalk 2012.
Yeah. So I got to ask you guys, I won the championship the crit walk 2012. Yeah
Yeah, so I gotta ask you guys. I said the Nets and the Sixers actually have the same record right now
They're 20 and 34. Is that something that you would have ever expected at this point in the season?
Say it again the Nets and the Sixers have the same record right now
No, look at the money you put into the Philadelphia 76ers.
I mean, they keep switching uniforms.
They got to switch their mindset.
This team is bugging out right now.
I don't know if Joel is on the team or he's not.
I don't know if Play-All P, what are you doing?
You know, this is crazy.
And to be right there with the Nets, the Nets is like the worst team in New York.
I know you guys are from Brooklyn.
I know you're gonna get mad at me, but...
They know it.
Yeah, the Nets is the worst team in New York.
You can't... There's no way.
Anybody can get in the Barclays.
You can have a block party in the Barclays, man.
I've been in the Barclays,
and these rolling dice, smoking weed. I'm not even exaggerating. I've been to Barclays, and they was rolling dice,
smoking weed. I'm not even exaggerating.
I'm dead ass. They was back there.
I walked through the city, because, you know,
I go through VIP. VIP ain't even VIP.
Yeah, it's like Penn Station in the Barclays, man.
Might as well let Amtrak come to the Barclays, man. People be like, yo, I'm performing in the Barclays.
I'm not coming to the Barclays.
I'm upscale, man.
I got a good car.
He changed.
I got a good car.
I'm not even exaggerating.
I seen dice games in the Barclays.
I seen niggas in the bathroom smoking weed.
I actually seen niggas get snuffed.
Then 15 minutes later, I see niggas running. Yo smoking weed. I've actually seen niggas get snuffed.
Then 15 minutes later, I see niggas running.
Yo, yo, yo, yo, come on, lay over there.
I'm like, where am I?
And no disrespect to the Barclays
because they did put something there for the niggas.
Not gonna be a nigga-nigger, so from time to time.
But if I'm going to the next game,
I'm not expecting to go through the VIP section
and join a dice game, because I actually joined.
Yeah, people are hustling in the barclays,
selling K2 in the barclays.
Ain't nobody going in the barclays.
Yeah, they say I got watered down.
I'm back.
Yeah.
He said, I'm watered down.
I'm back. I brought my glasses back out.
I'm back.
Yeah, that was the next scene I put in for the clip.
I said, niggas, I look like K2.
I'm a parklifter.
Oh, shit. You got it. What was the question?
Yeah, I just, how do you feel about them having the same record?
The Nets and the Sixers.
But I feel like y'all answered it right.
Yeah, Mase got it.
Roll 19.
You know, is it?
Good luck to the Sixers.
This should have been a wake-up call for y'all. You know, is it? It's so much hate to him. Good luck to the Sixers.
This should have been a wake-up call for y'all.
Okay, so Kyrie dropped 42 points
in the Mavs versus Warriors game.
The Mavs went on to beat the Warriors 111 to 107
without a lot of their starters.
Mace, how do you feel about Kyrie's performance?
And then how do you feel just about the Mavs right now?
Um, you know how I feel about this.
It falls. This is Kyrie's team.
That's what we've been waiting for.
You know, you got J.K. there, you got Sham there,
but most of all, we've been waiting for Kyrie
to get back in a position, pause,
where it could be his team,
so he can go back to serve mix a lot.
That's what we was watching yesterday.
He wasn't even running fast.
It was just like, I'm better than everybody on the court.
You know it, I know it.
It sounded like, it looked like Jersey Khare.
It looked like Khare from Baychester.
It looked like Khare when he was up there
in the Bronx by Gun Hill.
This was the Khrie I know.
This Kyrie's, um, his dad,
shout out to everybody up there that's been helping him out,
his family, all everybody moving to Dallas.
This is the Kyrie that we came to Dallas to see.
And I'm excited about it, and for him to do it against,
you know, Stephen Curry, that's like one of my favorite players.
But when one time he put a move so crazy on Stephen Curry,
I was just like, man, this is what happened when you try
to guard a New York guard, and then Jimmy Butler
gonna run out there and like he's playing D.
Oh, you with him? You with him?
That's what it looked like his attitude was.
So I'm excited about this Mavs team, especially, you know,
like I said, with it being Kyrie's team,
because everybody around him is going to play better.
Anthony Davis is going to be a bigger problem in Dallas.
Remember, I told you this, AD will be a bigger problem
in Dallas because the pick and roll between Kyrie and ad would be crazy
You know like no nobody else and then I'm looking for even clay Thompson because that's the question
I feel about them. I'm looking for clay Thompson to come not back to red clay Thompson, but enough to get the job done
I'm really looking forward to this team.
Plan decent.
Plan decent.
Yeah, look, Kyrie looked sensational last night.
But I need more of that.
More consistency.
Seems like Kyrie steps up when it's Steph Curry.
When it's Steph Curry, he says, I
time to put on the Michael Jackson socks
and start dancing on this nigga.
Because he dances on Steph Curry repeatedly.
I was looking at their record in the regular season,
they're 11-11 against each other.
Steph has an edge over him in the playoffs, though.
But he steps and elevates his game
when he plays against Steph Curry.
Sometimes he doesn't always give us the Kyrie
that we seen last night.
And this is what I need to see more of that Kyrie
than I saw last night.
Sensational game, clutch shot after clutch shot.
Clutch shot, dazzling moves, shaking niggas,
spectacular finishes at the basket.
I love to see everything.
As far as the Dallas Mavericks concerned,
I like them with AD.
We look at AD's first game before he got hurt.
I believe he had 26 and 17.
It looked like he's about to be a monster.
I have a monster game I should say for that particular game.
And they could look down to me Dallas,
if they stay healthy,
they could potentially be a two or three seed
in the Western Conference.
Everybody in the Western Conference is really close.
If I'm not mistaken, between the fourth seed,
maybe the third seed and the eighth seed,
it's a two or three game difference.
So the eighth seed next week could be the third seed,
and the seventh seed could be the second seed.
It's only a three or four game difference, if that,
between three and eight.
And to me, I'm not saying that they finish second or third,
but they have the potential to be the second
and best third team in the Western Conference.
We sit there and look at OKC and say,
damn, OKC is the only team in the NBA
with single digit losses.
And I'm like, yo, these niggas is nice.
Shea, Chet is back, they look good,
but they're the second youngest team in the NBA.
Is that gonna count when it's time for the playoffs?
Because right now we see what they're doing
dominating the regular season.
They finished first in the regular season last year.
They didn't get past the second round in the playoffs.
So right now, OKC has a playoff,
what's the word I'm looking for?
They have to prove it to me in the playoffs.
We see the regular season, they're great.
Playoffs, that's where that matters now.
Like I said, it's the Washington Warriors,
youngest team in the NBA, and then it's OKC.
And will they age play a factor in the playoffs?
But I really like Dallas, if 80 can stay healthy.
And another factor outside of Clay, outside of Kyrie,
outside of Anthony Davis,
it's PJ Washington and Lively.
Those are the two that's gonna have to step up
because everybody's looking for the three names
I just named previous to them.
Those are the pieces that you need.
Those are the people like Inqua Dollar
to help Golden State win a championship.
That fourth option that nobody's really watching
that can sit there and get you a shock and 28 points
when you're not paying attention.
So I like the Dallas Mavericks.
I like where they're heading.
As far as Golden State is concerned, they were looking good.
That game they actually played last night,
they were looking good.
They came back, they was down double digits.
They came back and made it a good game.
I like the addition so far, Jimmy Butler.
That was the first game they actually lost
with Jimmy Butler.
But we'll see, they're actually in the temp seat right now.
So they're in the playing, if the player happens,
if there's 27 and 27 and they have 500,
we're not paying attention because we've been so focused
on football, I'm talking about to our audience as well as us,
they wear 54 games.
So only 80, so there's less than 30 games left
in the regular season.
And we'll see what happens right after All-Star break
because shit gonna get down to the nitty gritty.
Great takes.
And then, Mase, I know you were saying that 80,
when he comes back, it's a bigger problem,
but I kind of feel like he is the big problem
because he is gonna be out for a couple of weeks
with the left abductor strain.
So given 80s injuries and PJ Washington's injuries
and then Daniel Gafford's out as well,
where do you kind of see the Mavs going?
I think with what they experienced yesterday,
that it's a good sign pointing towards the future
because when you get that kind of victory over
that type of dynamic backcourt you believe you could do that against anyone. So if he could do
that against Kyrie I mean against Stephen Curry as well as Jimmy Butler on the switch there is
nobody else that plays better defense on the wings than Jimmy Butler. And to think about that is like, this is a nightmare for the Western Conference
because they haven't seen a God like Kyrie, I mean, with it being his team.
He's been playing second to Luca for the most part.
Now you're going to see like Paul's a Kyrie unleashed.
So I really, I really like this, not just for fanfare,
but also as a team, anytime a championship team
has been like supremely dominant, normally they have that,
that point guard or some guard plate and,
and the front court and they have both,
whether it was Kobe and Shaq.
Now you're looking at, I wouldn't say that AD is Shaq
and I wouldn't say that Kyrie is Kobe,
but in today's time, it could be sort of equivalent,
like a few levels lower, but right there,
mentality-wise, with Kyrie, not AD.
Shaq could kill me for that.
Shaq say, yo, me, Shaq, you on that K2,
you putting AD up there with Superman?
Nah, we not gonna do that.
Okay, and then you kind of elaborated on it,
but then just with all the Mavs injuries,
kind of where do you see it going with Kyrie leading it?
To me, the Mav is about the injuries.
Like I said before, Kyrie steps up to the cage
when he needs to. Some nights, you'll sit there,
have a master game against Golden State, and then three nights later, they'll lose to the occasion when he needs to. Some nights, you'll sit there and have a master game
against Golden State, and then three nights later,
they'll lose to the Trail Blazers.
It's too streaky.
And if we're gonna get this consistency,
then yeah, it looks good, but it's about the consistency.
Right now, you gotta think about the people
who's not in the playoffs, right?
Golden State is at number 10, so I'm gonna leave them in,
because that's the player. That's not the playoffs, right? Golden State is at number 10. So I'm gonna leave them in,
because that's the play-in.
That's not the playoffs.
Dallas is at number eight seed,
but they're only a half a game ahead
of the Sacramento Kings.
So if the Sacramento Kings win tomorrow,
Dallas technically isn't in the playoffs.
The Phoenix Suns, they're the 11 seed,
which would mean that they're not in the playoffs,
but they're only a game back of the play-in.
All these teams are really tight,
so with the injuries the stat just brought up,
let's not, let's hope these people get back in time,
because if they don't, I don't think Kyrie,
as much as I love Kyrie, he's my guy,
and I fuck with him.
Super pause, but I fuck with him.
But can he lead a team to a championship by himself?
I don't think so. We gotta think lead a team to a championship by himself?
I don't think so.
We gotta think about who Kyrie had on his team.
And don't get me wrong, they were super duper young.
You got Jason Taylor.
You got Jaylen Brown.
You got a young roster of good players
when I think it was your team.
And then you leave and they get a Marcus Smart
to fill your position.
And he gets them to a championship.
Then they get rid of Marcus Smart
and get a veteran who won a championship,
and then they win a championship.
So sometimes it isn't all about the dazzle and razzle play,
which I love it. I love to watch it.
But sometimes it's about what fits for the team.
And I don't think Kyrie, by himself,
can lead a team to a championship.
We've seen what him and Luca did last year
winning the Western Conference Finals.
But it was like the frog, if you're old enough to know,
when the WB, you got a singing frog,
and you're like, oh shit, I'm gonna go put on the show.
When them curtains come up, the nigga can't sing.
We seen, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, you know what I'm talking about?
That's what, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. You know what I'm talking about?
You know what I'm saying?
We've seen how terrible Kyrie has played in Boston Garden
since he played terrible in the championship.
You got to get his name back.
You definitely got to get his name back.
He played terrible in the championship.
We see him do everything from get there early,
change his sneakers at halftime, sage to Boston Garden.
Actually walk around there early with Sage.
So we're looking at a team that could potentially be back
in the championship when we think about Boston.
Right now we know that Cleveland's
is in the lead for Eastern Conference,
but you have to think about the Boston Celtics
that are reigning champions.
So I would predict for them to get back to the championship,
even though the Knicks are also looking sensational.
But if you got to run into Boston and just for them to get back to the championship, even though the Knicks are also looking sensational.
But if you gotta run into Boston and just say Dallas
does get back there, now you do have Anthony Davis,
which is a difference, but something's going on
with Kyrie in Boston.
I don't know what it is, I don't know if he wants
to win too much, he wants it too bad, but these are
hurdles that you have to overcome.
But answer your question, Stat, yes. These injuries are gonna play a big part
because of how close all these teams are
in the playoff picture.
So if these people don't come back soon,
I think that we'll be talking about
what the Dallas Mavericks will be doing next year.
Now if they get into the playoffs,
even if it's an eight seed, could they be dangerous?
Absolutely, if you got a healthy Anthony Davis,
Kyrie Irvin, Clay Thompson
playing halfway as good as Clay Thompson played, Gaffer, Lively back PJ Washington, I don't
know if that's a team that OKC may want to face in the first round. So it's a lot of
isps.
Yeah, I think and I also think with that list that you gave, Killer, everybody from seven to 10 is not safe because San Antonio is behind that 10.
And they just made changes.
And the Phoenix Suns is behind that 10.
Yeah, that's not a safe 10.
Even, but not to cut you off, even if, like I said,
if you're looking four through, three through eight,
them is not safe positions either
because that's two games.
Exactly.
So we're looking at a team who's with the less-dissused
the Lakers.
The Lakers could be potentially in the 3C in four or five days,
potentially, depending on the schedule, who they play,
et cetera.
And we know the All-Star break is coming up.
So, you know, but I'm just saying,
they're two, three games away from being the sixth,
seventh seed from the two, three seed, from three, four seed.
Isn't it crazy how when Jha comes back,
the on-roll reversal falls from him and Anthony Edwards?
It's like Jha back is back his league.
Yeah, and we got to remember, J John made, I mean, he always did,
but he made the gritty when he sent Anthony Dave,
I was home,
and pat him on the back of his head, said,
it'll be all right.
Yeah.
It's so crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, so also looking at the standings in the West,
right now in third are the Nuggets.
So Jamal Murray dropped 55 points in the Nuggets. So, Jamal Murray dropped 55 points
in the Nuggets versus Blazers game.
We haven't talked about the Nuggets in a minute.
So, how do you kind of predict things
to progress for them in this game?
Oh, I'm not worried. I'm 100% not worried.
Neither am I concerned, not one bit about Denver.
I believe when it's all said and done, we're putting anybody Denver is right there. I don't think that any of
this matters because when it boils down to it they got somebody down there named
Joker. That everybody got come see him pause everybody got come through them
pause and everything that we looking at on the West Coast, if they can't stop Yokeish, it's not
going to matter.
It's not going to matter all the games they had because it's going to boil down to four
games and who can get those four games the quickest.
And I think when in the altitude of Denver, it's going to be hard to beat them.
Can OKC beat them? OKC got a first prove they could beat Dallas in the playoffs.
And there's going to be a lot of people gunning for them.
I look at OKC like, not like Dallas.
I mean, not like Detroit in the NFL,
but some of those same sentiments.
Like you have to show me that this could happen
and win it really counts.
Other than that, you're just great players
that play great until it counts,
and you definitely don't want that reputation.
So, Shea, prove everybody wrong
and get to the championship and win it.
And just for the audience, I was saying the games in between.
Let me be really clear on that,
because you know these niggas are narcissists,
our fans like, yo, killer, you didn't say,
I just wanna be clear really quick.
So from the two seed, the Memphis Grizzlies
and the Lakers are the fifth seed.
It's a three game difference between five and two.
And then you sit there and go from sixth seed
to the 10th seed, and that's a three game difference.
And then 11th seed is a game bout.
So I just wanted to be clear that all these positions
could potentially change for each team.
As far as Denver's concerned,
Denver made a great point.
Right now, everybody's talking about Shay being
the lead for the MVP.
And what Joker's doing is,
I don't want to say being undermined,
but it's sensational.
The man is top three in assists, points, and rebounds.
Assists for a center is crazy. It's really crazy.
But Denver...
The words I'm looking for is...
I agree with Mace when he said you have to go through them, but Russell Westbrook, look,
Russell Westbrook is a great addition,
but they lost key pieces on that championship team.
Bruce Brown was a really key piece
on that championship team.
Caldwell Pope Jr. was a really big piece on that championship team. Anddwell Pope Jr. was a really big piece
on that championship team.
And without those two players last year,
even though they were like, oh, they left and get the money
and we don't know where Bruce Brown is
and Caldwell Pope went to go get the check down the floor,
et cetera, et cetera,
it seemed like they needed them last year.
They lost actually to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now, don't get me wrong, you had Rudy Gobert was actually to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now don't get me wrong, you had Rudy Gobert
and Carl Anthony Towns, so they kinda got the W.
You have two seven feet people, players,
double teaming Yocage.
But at the end of the day, they got the job done.
Because we was all saying,
they go, Denver's gonna go back to the championship,
Denver's gonna go back to the championship.
And those key pieces left.
So the question is for me, for Denver,
because I really like Denver a lot.
And when you see Jamal Murray get 55 points,
you're like, don't let her get back to that Jamal Murray.
Yeah. That's dangerous.
Yeah, that's very dangerous.
If you get back to Jamal Murray randomly scoring 45 points
two times a week, 53 times a month.
This is when Denver is at his most dangerous
when he's at this point.
And I don't think he's been healthy, healthy,
and now is looking like he's healthy, healthy.
So they are really, really dangerous.
But those key pieces, the pieces that they filled
in the Russell Westbrooks, the other players,
are they gonna fill in for what Bruce Brown and Carl Anthony Pope
brought to the table?
We'll see.
When I say this much, when Jamal Murray's looking like this,
Denver's probably one of the scariest teams
in the West to look at.
Yeah, great food for thought.
Okay, so the other night, Katie had a historic night.
We'll talk about it after the break.
One love. One heart. One love. had a historic night, we'll talk about it after the break. And make sure you close the door behind you. What? You. You. When I tell the pussy up, man.

I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. now. Yeah. Let me see you walk it off. Welcome back. Now,
let's get into our underdog picks of the day. Tonight, the
Kings will play the Pelicans. Underdog has Zion at 23 and a
half points. You have him higher or lower Mace. Yeah,
get him. get him 23.
Get him higher.
I'm going lower with everything for Tufl. We picked Damien Lillard to go higher. He didn't fucking play last night.
This is the shit I'm talking about. Underdog be knowing. Y'all niggas be knowing. Y'all be knowing. Call me earlier
so when I give these picks I know exactly what's going on. Y'all know niggas wasn't gonna play.
Let me know so I know what I'm talking about.
Zion, 23?
Nah, I'm going lower because he's not gonna play.
Something's gonna happen before the game
and everything else.
If I thought he was gonna play, I'd say higher.
No, I'm going lower.
Yeah, Vegas been having a good week.
Ever since the Chiefs, they've been having a good week.
I'm gonna say.
I don't think, like I, all right.
Sabonis, he's at 37 and a half points, rebounds and assists.
Do you have him higher or lower?
Cam.
Lower.
Lower.
Okay, and Zach Levine is at 22 and a half points.
Do you have him higher or lower, Mace?
How many?
22 and a half points.
Crazy.
Highest. Pelicans, they don't have nobody to guard them. Okay. Crazy. Hi, it's the Pelicans.
They don't have nobody to guard them.
Okay.
Yeah, I agree, I'm going high.
Okay, if you guys like these picks,
remember you always get a free pick
if you're not already on Underdog,
so make sure to support the show.
Y'all go download Underdog and you can make your picks too.
Okay, so Kevin Durant became the eighth player
to reach 30,000 points on Tuesday. Phoenix did go on to lose to the Grizzlies 119-112,
but John Morant made sure to give KD the game ball.
He said, when you become the eighth member of the 30K club,
you go home with the game ball.
He's one of the greats.
So, Mace, what's your thoughts on KD's historic night
and what John Morant had to say about him
and giving him the game ball?
Um, I would like to just say congratulations,
Kevin Durant, the entire Durant family.
You know, KD is my favorite player in the league.
So this comes as no surprise.
He's a part of Titletown.
He's one of those ones.
He's one of those, part of the special ones.
So he's a once in a lifetime generational talent.
And just congrats for all the hard work you put in
as a young kid from the Baltimore area
and just working hard, doing everything you did.
Every, all the coaches, all the AAU coaches,
Mount Verde, AAU,
what's that, what's that?
Oak Hill, all the teams that played a part,
Texas, Seattle, all the teams that played a part
in your journey even.
Okay, C, congrats and away to play.
your journey even though KC, congrats and a way to play.
Yeah, you know, KD my guy, man. Congrats KD, well deserved.
You did it your way too, you know what I'm saying?
He did it without conceding to what other people think.
When people say he shouldn't have did this,
KD wanted him to go against the Graylingers.
You tell him go right, he going left.
You tell him to go up, he's going down, pause.
He's not gonna do what he wants to do.
He didn't think about it, he did it while trolling niggas.
He trolled him, he trolls you back,
still go out and do his thing.
Then he gets on podcasts, smoke weed,
tell niggas he smoke weed,
and you can't do nothing about it.
He did it his way.
Not only did he join the 30,000 point club,
he missed several games over a year of injuries.
Probably close to two seasons he missed.
So imagine he didn't miss the two seasons that he missed,
how many points he would have now.
Gary Payton, you gotta chill out, Gary Payton senior,
talking spicy to my nigga like that.
You gotta be easy.
Secondly, Gary Payton senior, I beat my nigga like that. You gotta be easy. Secondly, Gary Payton senior,
I beat you at rock and jock.
Pause, let's go to the video tape or nap homeboy.
So don't talk to KD crazy,
cause I already, me and Kevin Garnett,
we smack y'all niggas.
Me, Kevin Garnett, Damon style of mine.
Cook y'all niggas.
Don't watch your mouth talking.
I respect my elders and all, but watch your mouth
talking to Kevin Durant like that.
You didn't even ever beat me.
Boss, watch your mouth nigga.
I can't wait to hear what Gary Faye got to say.
See the thing about the murder I like
when I got the footage.
Yeah, you got the footage, yeah.
I got the footage, you can't talk to me.
Don't talk, watch your mouth, you're not a champion.
Kevin Durant's not only a champion two times,
he's the finals MVP, a league MVP.
And I remember you, Gary Payton, talking about, you know,
in the last dance of my, yeah, you know,
the series might have been different
if I guarded Michael Jordan the whole joint.
Mike laughed at you, we all laughed.
Watch your mouth talking to your mutton-aw nigger Kevin Durant like that. Now, Gary, was you nice? Yeah, the whole joint. Mike laughed at you. We all laughed. Watch your mouth talking to your
muddaw nigga, Kevin Durant, like that.
Now, Gary, was you nice?
Yeah, he was nice.
Would he been as good as he had?
If he ain't have Sean Kemp, though?
The mouth of you, he made them joints look good.
Was you nice?
Yeah.
Can't jump like your son, nigga.
Your son got hops, nigga.
You all right?
I fuck with you.
You was one of them niggas, but you wasn't Kevin Durant.
Now, Kevin Durant, keep this clip
and send this to that nigga like that.
Nigga, congratulations.
How many points, Snack, how many points?
Guy Payton got it, fuck you talking about.
Kevin Durant told the nigga,
when you was, if you was my age,
you was the knife man on the bench on your 19th team, nigga.
21,830.
How many seasons?
17 seasons.
So how many KD?
How many seasons, real quick?
I know we doing a little, so you play 17 seasons,
got 20,000 points.
Kevin Durant already missed two seasons
and got 30,000 points.
You ain't like that.
You cool. And I fuck with you.
Got to see Gary Payton at the NBA Cup.
Gary Payton took that shit.
But this is dead-ass serious.
You're not Kevin Durant, man.
And not. Okay, and Katie 17.
Yeah. Katie, so Katie played 15 seasons.
Yeah, with the two, so 15.
Yeah, so he played 15 seasons and got 30,000 points.
Congratulations, nigga.
Well deserved, nigga.
Set shit, nigga.
You know, KD got a diplomat tattoo, like, diplomat, nigga.
Yeah, you know he's petty.
He saw niggas joining teams,
and he said, I'm gonna join a team.
Yeah, we playing like that?
Yeah, I mean, if that's what we doing.
Yeah, if that's what we doing, right?
That's when I stop it.
Yeah, yeah, if that's what we doing, let's do it.
Okay, so the NBA trade deadline, of course,
Let me tell you a story about that real quick.
You got it.
Sorry.
I'll tell you a quick story.
I'm not gonna tell you where I heard of that.
You gotta think about this.
When Kevin Durant was a free agent that year,
all them niggas flew to the Hamptons to meet
Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Clay Thompson,
Steph Curry, Andre and Godard, and Steve Kirk.
And they were trying to bargain with him
to come to Golden State.
And they asked them one question.
And I won't say who was in the room
and who asked the question.
On behalf of KD, if the game's on the line,
who's taking the last shot?
And Steph Curry said, you are,
you the best player on the team.
And that's what got him to Golden State,
they understood it.
So then trying to act like it wasn't like that later.
Yeah.
Swah Mata here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah, exactly.
So...
Yeah, I understand.
And shout out to Rich Klammer.
Definitely shout out to Rich Klammer.
Yeah, shout out to Rich Klammer.
Great people.
Okay, so the Lakers are dealing with some drama
because they rescinded their trade
to acquire center Mark Williams from Charlotte
due to a failed physical.
So right now, the Hornets are actually in contact with the league
to dispute the failed physical assessment.
Of course, Dalton Connect is back with the Lakers as of now,
which you can assume has caused a lot of drama
because y'all traded me, and y'all got me back in the locker room
with y'all, and we don't know what's going on with Mark Williams.
So, Mace, how do you feel about that whole trade being rescinded?
Do you think it's gonna pass through?
What do you think about all this messiness
that's kinda happened in between all of it?
I mean, first of all, just thinking about the physical.
Like, did he...
How did you fail the physical if you already planned?
Like, this is just a test of just lateral movements,
just the things that's there. Body fat, pause, hand whip. This is just a test of just lateral movements,
just the things that's there, body fat,
paws, hand whip, just the wing.
How do you feel this?
This is like, I don't know how you felt this.
Yeah, you know what's crazy is that
I like what you just said too,
is if you're already playing,
it wasn't like you wasn't playing. You was already playing, right?
Was he, look, Anthony Davis just wasn't playing.
And he passed.
He passed, he had an abdominal injury.
Luka was hurt, how'd he pass the fit?
Do you get what I'm saying?
This is just like lame agility, bench pressing,
just regular stuff.
It make no sense how he didn't pass it.
He probably got up, just went like this and said,
I can't, I can't.
You know, it's crazy as that.
I've seen a statement that the Charlotte Hornets made
when he came back and they said,
we are so happy, we're happy to have him back.
It wasn't our fault that the Lakers
was aggressively pursuing him
and put us in a tough situation, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera,
but we never wanted to part ways with him.
That's what you're supposed to say to a nigga
you ain't got no choice coming back to.
You act like you put out some great speech, like,
what do you mean the Lakers were aggressively pursuing him?
Now I mean you had to say, yeah, nigga.
That's like a nigga like, yo, I'm gonna fuck this nigga bitch.
No!
No, nigga, fuck is you talking about? It's my bitch.
Well, guys, since you're aggressively pursuing my bitch,
go ahead and fuck her.
What are you talking about?
What are we talking about here?
Like, this is stupid.
I think, I mean, it's gonna be hard for both players
to look at niggas,
because they don't have a choice but to be with the niggas
that they tried to trade, and now you can't trade them,
and neither one of them actually have played yet
with the team. They both like...
Yeah, I get back when I get back, you know what I'm saying?
That's always awkward if they put you on the trading blocks
and then the trade don't go through.
Then you got to come back and people got to act like,
we good.
Then you say, oh, we good?
Probably.
Like, we good.
And then you say, oh, we good?
Probably.
Hehehe.
It just creates bad energy.
It's like trying to get rid of a chicken.
You don't get rid of a...
He's only played 84 games out of 212 possible games,
all due to injuries.
Mark Williams, yeah.
He's injury prone.
But you knew that before going through and pursuing him. So it's like, you know what you signed up for
and that's on them.
But yeah, I would be mad.
And I know both of them are mad because I would be.
Is there any big spas floating around besides like,
I know we talk about the White Howard, who else is there?
Well, the Lakers just picked somebody up. Alex Lenz. Yeah, so listen, we talk about DeWaye Howard, who else is there? Well, the Lakers just picked somebody up.
Alex Lenz.
Yeah, so listen, we talked about before,
it's people you could go get,
but it's a lot of things that,
it's not players that's actually playing
that you could go get now.
When the trade deadline hits, you have to go get players,
if you wanna get somebody in the league,
you have to get them before that deadline.
You got somebody who's not playing G League overseas,
coming out of college, you can grab them, but pause.
But you can't...
There's a lot of G League players,
especially there's a lot of G League bigs,
pause, that are really athletic and run the court.
Because right now, you don't need somebody
that's going to get a bunch of points.
You need people that could be could be active, pauser around the rim.
Just get tippings, get rebounds, high energy.
You don't need somebody that could get 30 points.
You just need somebody that could run up even on wherever Wiseman is.
I don't know where Wiseman is or what happened with him, but he would be a good player, too. Okay.
Okay, so, the long-awaited game.
So, Luca made his LA debut the other day.
In the pregame huddle, LeBron ended up telling Luca,
be your effing self. Don't fit in, fit the fuck out.
Be yourself. And then they went on to meet the Jazz.
I mean, respect, but they went on to meet the Jazz.
132 to 113.
So, Mase, what did you think of Luca's performance
in his little relationship with the Lakers now?
I like Luca, but I didn't like this performance.
I felt like when Luca got to LA,
being a lifetime Laker fan, that...
What do you mean you're a lifetime Laker fan?
What are you talking about, yo?
What are you talking about, yo?
Thank you.
Yo, this is wild, bro.
Thank you.
Yo, you off with you?
What are we talking about?
B60 waves.
You just saw Be Allen face.
Be Allen's a Laker fan.
Be Allen's face was crazy when I said that.
He's a real Laker fan.
I mean, back in the days, I was a Laker fan.
You know, Magic and all that.
I think I stopped after Kobe.
I did stop after Kobe.
Before that, I was a Laker fan.
After Kobe, I stopped being a Laker fan. The thing is, you say things with such conviction
that I be believing you too.
I would believe, like, yes, he's a Lakers fan.
And I'm like, no, I don't even know where we went,
where the train went.
I'm a lifetime Laker fan.
I just been on vacation since LeBron got there.
I mean, if I'm being honest, I'm back live.
You know what I'm saying?
When LeBron came there, I just was like, man,
like Sin City is becoming too commercial.
Everybody wanna be Lakers now.
You know what I'm saying?
Everybody's always Lakers.
Murda, what are you talking about?
There ain't nothing new about being a Laker
than everybody doing Lakers.
Nah, you remember. In the past three years,
the Chiefs hasn't been commercial.
...punched their head and all that.
Pause with the Clippers.
Then everybody start being Clippers fans a little bit.
You remember that.
Nah, they just thought for a minute
they thought the Clippers was gonna have a better run.
Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
No.
So, once they fire magic,
I couldn't be there.
Magic is my god.
Of course.
They didn't have fire magic.
Magic left.
He had to.
But he left because of internal things we can't talk about.
They talked about it.
And to add, Mace, the past five years,
people have been commercial chiefs fans.
So like, no.
No.
Yeah, get that nigga.
No.
No.
This doesn't make sense.
And we're being honest, all my teams got yellow in it.
All of them.
All of them.
The Lakers, Golden State, the Chiefs.
But not Steelers.
You know?
Golden State.
Did you say that?
Is that not the Steelers?
They got yellow?
I used to like the Steelers too when Ben, with Big Ben in them.
But you know, with the bus and all of that.
You remember them?
That's when that was my team. You know what I'm saying? Bett that. You remember him? That's when that was my team.
Bettis, you remember him?
I'm from that.
I'm the title town.
You see?
I'd have to clarification.
Clarification.
Sometimes.
Yeah, Jerome Bettis.
You remember that title town?
I'm from the original title town.
I live on that side.
I didn't get to explain this yesterday
because y'all was, you know, a bit irate,
but what I was trying to say in Title Town,
there's a dark skin side and there's a light skin side,
you know, and the goats that are dark skin
are different than light skin goats, you know?
But we'll talk about that another day.
I'm going to compile a list for you.
We'll chat about it.
I need further explanations.
Yeah.
You know, it's every day.
But back to what you didn't like.
Cam is lost about what I'm saying.
I'm definitely not lost.
I'm absolutely not lost.
I'm just not being, you know, Mike, Mike,
shout out to Mike Irvin.
Mike Irvin just, he made a statement yesterday
that explains a lot of stuff about you.
If you can't convince him, confuse him.
Yeah.
That sounds about right.
That sounds about right.
So, I kept that in my peeing pocket for you.
I don't like that.
Mike does this actually, he's the one brought it
to the show.
It was contagious, I think it got on my jacket.
Mike, you started all of this, Mike.
You and OJ, God rest OJ soul,
you started this and OJ too
with the blueberry juice and all that.
What's the question that's on your mind?
Luca, Luca's debut.
Yeah, Luca's debut.
I didn't like it. You know, like,
in the words of killer, I don't like it.
I didn't like that he had 14 points.
I felt like when he came out,
yes, LeBron let him go last.
You know, let him mention his name last.
But let him keep his name last.
Because he's the future of the team, so let's start going in that direction.
Let's not make this a Dwight Howard thing
where you saying y'all gonna give him the team,
but he doesn't get the team.
Let's not make this an Anthony Davis thing.
I think in order for the Lakers to do well,
they should just make it Luca's team.
So if it was Luca's team,
then Luca would've came in and had 30 points. Everything would have
been going through Luca just to make them feel at home because
that's going to be a better Laker team than him trying to
figure out how does he play with LeBron. It should more so be
LeBron how you're going to play with Luca, because this is how
you're going to have to play if you you wanna win. Because if Luca plays diminish,
then it looks like another person that LeBron Stardom
just overwhelmed who they were
and then they become a different kind of player.
And then that defeats the purpose of making that trade.
And I know people don't agree with that, but listen,
there's players that you play with that make you better. listen, there's players that you play with that make you better.
And then there's players that you play with
that can diminish who you are and what you do.
And that's not gonna be a good fit.
That's all I'm saying.
Just like when he went to Miami,
Wade said, you know what, I'm giving you the ball.
And because of that, they start winning championships.
In order for the Lakers to win, remember I said it here.
You're gonna have to put the ball in Luca's hand,
let it be Luca's team.
And then when you need an extra bucket, give it to LeBron.
He'll still get his 20, but you need Luca to get going
in order for this to be a serious contender.
LeBron been trying to do that.
He was trying to do that with Anthony Davis.
He wants to give somebody that role
so he can be the second.
So Luca will be a good part because Luca gonna be the second. So, Luka will be a good part
because Luka gonna want the ball.
Mm-hmm.
So, it'll work out.
We just need a rim protector.
Luka's not in shape.
That's what this boy is nailed to.
Mm-hmm.
Luka's definitely not in shape.
He looked like he wasn't in shape when he played.
He has to get back into playing shape.
And I agree with B. Blabar wanted to give the team the AD.
AD didn't want to take it.
But that's not what this is about.
We're talking about the first game.
Luka was injured before he got to the Lakers.
I think that Luka's revving up for February 25th
when they play Dallas, so he's not gonna look sensational
in his first couple games.
He's not in shape, he hasn't played in 20-something games.
He's not gonna get in shape in two weeks. He drinks mad beer.
He's not gonna stop.
We see him drink beer and still play,
but he's just been drinking beer.
So now we have to get back in the game play shape,
and he's not in shape. We seen it.
I watched the whole game.
He sat there and he was jogging up the court.
He was trying to look like he's making an effort.
But I talked to people when he was in Dallas.
And I said, this is before the trade.
And I said, when is Luke coming back?
Well, they say he's almost not injured.
This is a week before the trade.
They say he's almost not.
Seriously, they said he's almost not injured.
Maybe I'm not phrasing it right.
No, no, you are right.
I'm saying it's funny that somebody say
you almost not injured.
No, I'm basically saying he's injured.
But I'm like, when is he coming back?
So they say, he's almost healthy.
That's the word I should use.
He's almost, when I say not injured,
he's almost healthy, but he still has to get in shape.
That was verbatim what somebody told me.
So that's like, okay, he's almost healthy,
but he's still not in shape.
So that was like a week before the trade.
So now maybe he's healthy, but he's nowhere not in shape. So that was like a week before the trade. So now maybe he's healthy,
but he's nowhere near basketball shape.
But I think he's trying to get in basketball shape
for February 25th and for April, definitely April 2nd,
when they played those two times
that they played against Dallas.
Did he look sensational? I agree with Mase.
He didn't look good at all.
And they're gonna have to... He looked decent.
He looked like he knew how to play basketball.
But I don't think it'll be a big problem.
I just think that he's not in shape.
And LeBron is in mega shape.
LeBron is like...
LeBron is looking like Superman up there.
And I know we're talking about the first game,
but actually they lost last night to the team that they beat.
When Lucas was on the floor last night,
they were minus 16 points last night
when they played the Utah Jazz.
That's not good.
We know that, and we know that the Jazz
are one of the worst teams in the Western Conference.
So I don't think it's nothing about his skills.
I don't think it's nothing about wrong with the Lakers.
It's about getting it together.
Mace made another great point.
It's about getting comfortable with who you're playing with.
Sometimes you have the best people in the world
and that doesn't equal out to a championship.
You brought up a great point Mace with the first year
with Dwayne Wade and LeBron James
and everybody calls that a failure year.
And I don't think it was a failure year.
I thought it was them two figuring out
because they still went to the championship.
You gotta think about this.
These two players went to the championship.
The first year they started playing with each other,
pardon me, and lost to the championship.
And they was like, oh, they didn't win
because you know LeBron made a big deal.
Three championship, four championship, five championship.
When he said he was taking his talents
to South Beach after he left the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But Macy's right, it did take a conversation.
So we're talking about 82 games played
and then a conversation.
We only two games in, people gotta be a little bit patient
and see what happens, but I think it all boils down
to Luca getting in shape.
And we all know that he's not in basketball shape just yet.
Can he play?
He's still gonna get his numbers
because he's a sensational basketball player.
But he's nowhere near playoff shape
or even be a Lakers in shape.
So we'll see what happens.
But you know what's crazy about the thing?
I was doing some history, pardon me,
some research, not history.
And you know that the new owner,
female owner for the Dallas Mavericks,
you can Google her name if you want, I know her name.
And she was trying to build a casino
where the Dallas Mavericks played.
And they told her that she can't build a casino
where the Dallas Mavericks played.
Because that thing is,
she's the fifth richest woman in America.
Yeah, Miriam Adelson.
Yeah, she's the fifth richest woman in America.
So she purchased a team with 73% of the team
from Mark Cuban.
And she runs it, her and her family run it.
But their business is really gambling,
especially in Las Vegas.
It's really big in Las Vegas.
So she wanted to build, I'm not saying
she don't care about basketball, but that's not
where her heart is.
Her heart isn't getting this money.
So she was trying to build a casino in Dallas
and they wouldn't let her do it.
So they said, okay, cool.
You won't let me build a casino in Dallas.
I'll bring the team to Vegas.
And they said, no, you won't let me do it.
And they was like, oh yeah, cool.
Y'all like the Lucas nigga, huh?
Fuck him.
Cause I'm trying to get my way.
And now all of a sudden, Luca's not in Dallas.
That's why we can't let women run the country.
And emotional.
I don't agree with that.
I'm being funny when women run the country.
I think women can do a great job running shit.
I definitely do.
And I was being funny with that,
but this seems emotional.
I was just going to add, you know, we have a lot to look forward to. And I think it's interesting that, but this seems emotional. I was just gonna add, you know,
we have a lot to look forward to
and I think it's interesting that like,
they were saying that the NBA ratings are down
and then all of a sudden, like all these trades
and all these things happen, I don't know,
cause now we're definitely tuned in, so.
Well, I'll tell you one thing,
night after night, I'm disappointed, night after night.
Every night we turn on the TV
and we sit ready to watch a game
and one of the superstars that we're waiting to see
is not playing, night after night.
And then you wonder why the ratings are there.
You tune in tonight
and we already knew Anthony Davis wasn't playing, cool.
We tune in, pardon me, not tonight, last night.
We tune in last night, you know,
I put my money on underdog fantasy
and not my money. I sit there and tell our audience,
because I didn't bet on that particular game.
I do from time to time, but not last night.
I sit there and tell my fans to use code cam
that Damien Lillit's gonna have more than 23 points,
and then I tune in to see if my pick is correct
and he doesn't play.
I tune in, this person doesn't play it.
That person doesn't play it. Look, I never person isn't playing, that person isn't playing.
Look, I never thought that I'd say this
because I'm old enough to know what owners
did to players throughout the years.
We have to think about Mike Jordan
earning $111 million throughout his professional career
from the NBA.
We're not talking about the Jordan brand
or the Sneakers or anything else.
Purely off NBA contracts.
And a lot of that money came in his last three years
because he was sitting there saying he won 30 million
one-year deals for his last three years.
So he got a lot of majority of that money
the last couple of years he played.
And we seen ownership players overnight.
You play here, you just play there.
And the players started getting more leverage
and way more money.
And to where we're just talking about Michael Jordan
getting 111 million.
But we're looking at Shay Gilder's Alexander
potentially making $70 million per year
when his contract is out.
We just saw Steph Curry sign a one year deal for 62 million.
And those are two players that I'm not about to talk about
because they don't cheat the game, they come to play.
But it's to the point where that, and I don't,
and it's not gonna be this generation,
they're gonna fuck it up for the next generation
because I believe that players should get paid upon play
and injuries should be checked upon,
team doctors along with your own doctors,
because you're not playing
and you're getting guaranteed money.
We're sitting there, seeing as Paul George
getting $52 million per year, Macy's told me.
And he's averaging two points.
Not only averaging two points, he plays once in a while.
I wouldn't even expect him to play last night.
It needs to be more pay for play and not just pay for play.
No guaranteed contracts.
You're cheating the fans, you should not get paid.
That's just my opinion.
Like I said, I never thought I'd say this
because I see what Onis did to players for years,
but now the players are just taking it too far
to where they're showing up when they want to show up.
Yeah, not playing at all.
And then plan and not plan.
That's what you were speaking of, plan and not plan.
Getting two points is just uncalled for,
especially with a GOAT conversation.
I gotta hop on it, pause, I got to.
Because the game, we're here at it is what it is.
We're just making sure you don't cheat the game.
We're not ESPN, we're not those other places.
We have to hold you accountable
because this is the sport that we love.
This is the sport that kids grow up playing.
These are kids that are coming to these games.
They're coming in with teams, saving money,
marking these dates on calendars,
and they're coming to see some of their favorite players
not play.
And that's not cool.
So I got a question.
I got a question.
So are you reporting that you, is that the domino effect of the Dallas Mavericks owner
potentially starting the domino effect
of bringing the Dallas Mavericks to Las Vegas?
Cause they have the Venetian and the Palasso here.
We told her that she can't do it.
Oh, she can't move to, okay, I got it.
But I'm saying that she wanted to bring a casino to Dallas.
Okay.
They said no.
No, right.
And they like, well, I'm moving to Dallas Marys to Vegas.
It's like, you just got here, no,
who you with the Greek coming in?
Cause you gotta realize it isn't just Hussein
pick up and go, it's a panel of people
that have to approve it.
And they told her no, and they was like,
so I mean, this is a conspiracy going on around here.
This is going on around here.
So the other question I got for you.
And then some people saying she's trying to tank it to force her way out.
Yeah.
So the other question I got for you guys is, LeBron,
I keep hearing you guys...
Wants a team in Vegas.
Yeah, I keep hearing that too, but I keep hearing you say
that Lucas on the team now and you said he went...
When you said he went second or last,
you talking about an announcement?
Announcement.
So what I'm trying to say is,
do you think it's LeBron's team now?
Because I think, like you just said,
I think he's in great shape.
Yes, it's LeBron's team.
It's his team.
So why give it up now?
Pause.
LeBron been trying to give it up.
LeBron's at an age where he doesn't want to be the man.
He's been trying to give it to Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis doesn't want it.
Yeah, they got to step up. They got doesn't want it. Yeah, they gotta step up.
They gotta do their part in being ready for that.
He's 40.
You gotta look for the future.
He's 40 years old.
Yeah, we're just saying that that's
what comes along with the passing of the torch.
No, I get that, but I'm saying, they're in what?
You just said they're in fifth place.
And they had a real opportunity right now.
I mean, LeBron is balling, man.
Like, he's playing this. The thing about it, when you say it's somebody's team,
it doesn't always have to be the lead and scorer.
It doesn't always have to. It's about being a leader of the team.
To me, when Mase is saying that, and just my opinion,
it's not gonna be Luca's team tomorrow.
Right. Yeah.
You have to... It's over time.
You can't just come in the locker room and say,
yo, everybody, everybody here, Luka is your team.
That's not even comfortable for Luka.
It's gonna take time, it's gonna take trust,
it's gonna take your performance on the court.
Him getting in shape.
Everything counts.
You just don't, it's not a pair of keys.
You just throw hands on body and say, hey, take the car.
It's not about that when you say it's somebody's team.
It's about actions, leadership, performance, et cetera.
So a lot of different things to go into that.
It's not gonna be Lucas' team next week.
Lucas got off 70, and they'd be like, yo, it's Lucas' team.
You're a baseball player.
Yeah.
Not player or a fan, I don't know if you played or not.
You're a really big baseball fan.
When Alex Rodriguez came to New York,
it took a time for them to say, it's his team.
It was Derrick Jeter's team.
He had to win a World Series,
they hit all types of shit and everything.
Cause I remember reading the paper,
I'm not really big on baseball,
but I watched New York baseball and they'd be like,
now it's Alex Rodriguez's team.
It didn't happen soon as he got there.
It took some time for him to do it as far as I know. That's a great example. And that's what I was trying to say. But Derrick Jeter just didn't give soon as he got there. It took some time for him to do it, as far as I know. That's a great example.
And that's what I was trying to say.
But Derek Jeter just didn't give up the squad.
He was like, yo, this...
Still the Yankees. That's what I'm saying about LeBron.
Like, I feel like the Lakers are playing...
I'm not gonna say they're playing great, but...
LeBron's on the...
Yeah, we're not saying he's not playing great
and that he's not playing at an ultimate level.
I could get better for him.
I'm saying that the way he's playing,
what I'm coming from is this.
No matter how it's explained,
when you come to the playoffs,
you wanna win in the playoffs,
as a 40 year old player at some point,
Father Tom is gonna step in
and you're gonna need that other player.
So I'm saying develop that player now
instead of waiting on game three
and saying you ain't got nobody.
You know what I'm saying?
I got you.
Yeah.
I'll just say it is a transition
and we're seeing it right now with our own eyes,
but that is all the time that we have for today.
