Killer was good, man.
Murder went on, man. Murder, what up, man?
How you doing?
I'm doing wonderful, and yourself?
I was a little under the weather, so I stayed home.
I'm feeling all right, though.
Good enough to be on the show.
I just ain't wanna bring that mess in the studio today.
I'll be back tomorrow.
Oh, all right.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, because- You feel better soon.
And we have a lot to do.
Yeah, no, I'm good.
I'm good, like I said.
Yeah, like I said,
I just ain't gonna get nothing with y'all, you know?
I don't want to get nobody sick, so I'm home.
Yeah, no, appreciate that.
But we do have a lot to talk about sports too.
There are some people chatting.
I don't know if you, Cam, have seen it yet or Mace yet.
Who?
On the internet, Ocho Cinco had a response to Cam
and some words about the show.
Mmm.
Talking about numbers, views.
Talking about somebody can't be afforded,
where he's gonna be at, where he's posted up,
he's good in Harlem.
Who can't afford it?
All the things. What? Apparently y'all's good in Harlem. Who can't afford it? All the things.
What?
Apparently y'all, he say y'all can't afford him.
And a lot of other things.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
Well, listen, listen, I'll be back.
Yo, Killa, wait, wait, wait, Killa.
Every time I call you, Killa, and say,
I'm gonna grow up, this is what happened.
I told you.
I told you.
Are you getting it?
Yeah.
See, 24, we had to push, we had to push 2024 back to 2025.
Oh my God, Killa. See, 24, we had to push 2024 back to 2025.
I'm like, go ahead, killer. I'm gonna chill out.
I'm gonna chill out.
Oh, no, no, no.
I was saying that I'll be back in the studio tomorrow.
I'll dress it, because I have to find out everything.
He said everything.
I don't know, I'm late.
Like I said, I wasn't feeling well yesterday,
but now that I know, I feel a little better now, actually.
But I'll wait till I get in the studio tomorrow.
We'll see how it goes from there.
What did he say again?
He said a lot of things.
And I will definitely catch you guys all up to speed
because y'all know I'm on Twitter,
and I know y'all probably wasn't even seeing that.
But yeah.
Oh, man.
On Nike, yeah.
This is the Tito Jackson.
Shit, I told you, this is what happens when you do shit when you can't go it up, so. Yo, bro. Yeah. This is the Tito Jackson. Shit, I told you, man.
This is what happens when you do shit
when you can't go back and forth.
Not only that, he's a habitual woman hitter.
Wait, killer joke.
He's a headbutt's bitch.
I'm saying, I'll tell you, this is on time.
I don't know how niggas working
with a habitual female hitter.
If Shannon Sharpe and whoever other networks
wanna work with somebody who actually had bust females,
cool, but we'll address it tomorrow, my bad.
I ain't even, you know, let's do it.
One more time for Tito, I got Tito, I'll get Tito
on one hundred, I gotta go buy my business after that.
After that, I gotta go buy my business.
Cause I realized, Murdo, when I say something,
I mean, you know, I say shit and forget it,
niggas say shit and regret it.
But I see when I do say shit,
it hurts for months and weeks and possibly years.
So I dig it, but I touch up on it.
But yeah, it's a bitch who a woman had,
I don't like these energy.
So I'll give him one more time pause.
We'll do it tomorrow.
Okay, tomorrow it is.
Well, and then push, push you back,
kill it in 2026 now.
Yeah. I don't know. I mean, that's on them though.
Yeah.
Oh, Lord. Well, we're gonna start with Jason Tatum.
So, his trainer, Drew Hanlon, spoke on his potential
and said to compare Jason Tatum's resume
at age 26 to Michael Jordan's.
He said, I think he has a Hall of Fame resume
already at 26 years old.
I think he hasn't even scratched the surface of his prime yet.
I think we're watching one of the greatest basketball players
ever to play the game.
When it's all said and done, I think he will be mentioned
as one of the best basketball players that has ever played.
Mace, do you agree that...
One of the best? Yeah, one of the best basketball players that has ever played. Mase, do you agree that?
Yeah, one of the best basketball players
that have ever played.
I think sometime that when I hear statements such as this
that a guy like Tatum who is playing extremely well,
on this show, let me just start here
before I even get into Jason Tatum.
On this show of It Is What It Is, it is our sincere commitment to tell the truth.
So we're not here to fluff anything for anyone, pause, to exaggerate for anyone, or to ride,
pause anybody's back when they're down.
Our job is to tell the truth the same way you would hear it
in a barbershop or we would talk about it in the streets
just with ESPN outfits on, pretty much.
So when we're saying the things that we're saying,
we're not coming in here to take a shot at anyone.
We're actually just telling it like it is. That's why the show is called
It Is What It Is. That's the brand that you have
to say what it is when it comes to sports, you know?
We're not diving into people's lives,
but everything's surrounding sports, right?
So when it comes to someone like Jason Tatum,
um, when somebody say that he could finish
being one of the greatest to ever play, that's not a far-fetched statement. like Jason Tatum, when somebody say that he could finish
being one of the greatest to ever play.
That's not a far-fetched statement.
And that's our integrity to hold everyone to what's true.
Cause in this league of not just basketball players,
but in this league of analysts,
it seems like so many people are friends with each other.
So they basically
can call someone and say, put this story out here,
or tell the story in this way.
And I try to make sure that I'm very objective.
I don't really want to be that friendly with anyone,
to the point that I have to say something that's untrue
to, you know, go out to a brunch or a lunch.
I really don't prefer that. You know what I'm saying?
So what I'm saying even about Jason Tatum
is just gonna be true and it's gonna be honest
to what I believe.
With no All-Star tickets in mind,
with no summer league hanging out.
No, I just wanna do my job and go home.
I don't, I don't, I got friends.
You get what I'm saying?
I know people, right?
So I'm not worried about you.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm gonna say what I gotta say.
I'm only saying what I believe.
And what I believe is Jason Tatum will go down
as one pause or one of the greats.
And right now he's still not in Titletown though.
When he gets this second ring,
we're gonna welcome you Jason Tatum to Titletown.
And I appreciate what everybody at the Celtics said
about me when they was saying
they ain't seen me in Titletown.
I could take a joke.
I just wish other people could take a joke.
And if you can't take a joke,
then stay out of the joking section, you know?
Okay. And then, Cam, what are your thoughts
about Jason Tatum?
And I think also this came from a guy that does training.
He trains him, so he's supposed to say this.
And then, um, Chandler just say,
stop comparing the 90s to today.
Yeah, Channing Fry.
So why would we be back to parent?
We're supposed to get to that.
All right, go ahead, Killa.
Yeah.
We got time.
Like, you know, Jason Taylor, what I'll say is this,
what's going on now is basketball players today.
Careers last way longer than basketball players.
They started in the 70s or 80s or even late 80s.
They're figuring out how to stay healthy while there's low management,
whether taking better care, they buy the center.
You think of Michael Jordan or Isaiah Thomas or even like Laibird, they played 11, 12, 13 seasons.
We got people in the 17th season,
Kevin Durant's in the 17th season,
LeBron's in his 20th season,
Steph Curry's, I believe in his 16th season.
So you got a people, and all the people like this name
are not even about to go nowhere.
If they want to retire,
we know Steph is not retiring,
KD's not retiring, LeBron is not retiring.
Much as he teases like he's gonna retire, he's not.
So that's first and foremost.
So you could have a better career
and be one of the best players in NBA history
because they're playing longer than they are.
Like everybody loves to compare LeBron to Michael Jordan.
LeBron's on 20 seasons.
Michael Jordan doesn't play 15 seasons,
let alone 20 seasons.
So sometimes these comparisons aren't fair,
but is he going to be one of the best players in history?
He has time to prove that.
I know one thing, and he has one championship,
as much as we analyze, and I'm not talking about NBA,
we'll just stick to the Celtics as much as we all analyze people my
age and Larry Bird. I love Larry Bird like I think like
Bird to me is probably the second and third best small
four whatever he used to be number one but LeBron came
and took that but the end of the day Jason Tatum has the
most 50 point games in Celtic history.
As much as we like, nah, he ain't got as much as Bird.
He has the most 50-point games in Celtic history.
He has one title, he's 26 years old.
He has plenty of time to win more.
They look like they may win this year.
We don't know yet.
Cleveland looks good and we'll see what happens on the West Coast.
But could he?
He could.
But he has some more work to do.
And one thing that I will say, he has some time,
but I'm not gonna say he's gonna be,
cause I don't know yet, we'll see.
But he's on his way, I'll say that.
Well, Cam, let me share with you what I'm saying.
Cause I believe I understand how the people feel
that go against the status quo's of today.
You remember we played in Puerto Rico and the rules were different.
You remember the line was closer.
You remember the pause, the ball was a little lighter pause.
You know, everything about the game was different.
So if somebody told me they was scoring 50 points and and and this is how they're looking at Tatum. Like when we was playing in Puerto Rico
the line was so close if a guy told you he was hitting 60 and we saw how close
the three-point line it was right there with the foul line. So we looked at the
60 points as different. That's how people are looking at the league today.
They're they're saying yes, that they're scoring more,
but they're scoring more in a much more.
And I'm going to say it in a more polite way, in a much more gentle league.
That's what Sin City has been trying to communicate to us.
This is a gentle league.
This is a league of gentlemen.
This is not a league of, you know, people that are savages.
This is like, don't touch him or we're going to call.
Don't do this. So 30 today is 13 in a league before.
50 today is about 22 in the league before.
So that's how people are looking at it. 50 today is about 22 in the league before.
So that's how people are looking at it. Like, you know, if you have 40 points
between on junior varsity,
people are not gonna respect that as much.
I remember I was averaging 40 in JV,
but on a team with all of you guys, I had like 10.
Why? Because you're playing on a much more, you know, intriguing team and a
team of much higher caliber players.
And I think today, even though they're more skilled, the drive is just different.
And I don't know how they keep ignoring that, but it's just the truth.
The drive is different pause.
Okay.
And then cam, do you feel like the drive is different to Mase's point?
What tenacity?
Everything. Yeah, everything you said is correct.
But I don't think I don't think that is the players fault, you know.
But I don't disagree with anything Mase said.
He's absolutely right.
The game has changed and you can't blame the players
for the game changing.
They changed the rules.
They make it easier for the players today.
I give Mason, they stop hand checking.
We used to be able to hand check.
Three point line was for about 20, 25 years ago,
but that's not the players fault.
So if the players are growing up in the rules that they are
given, you can't fault them from giving the rules that they
were given.
Nah, I agree with that.
That's my opinion.
No, I, and I agree with Ken.
But what Macy's saying, he's not wrong.
It's every time I'm talking about down to the numbers with
50 points today, where we would have been half of that probably
20, 30 years ago.
But see, like I said,
I know we're getting into the next topic though,
but that's what Shannon Fry was saying.
He's like, if y'all gotta keep going 40 years ago
to say this happened, cool.
And then I put that into perspective
of when I first started playing ball.
So let's say I was 11, 12, whatever, in 1988, 89,
and somebody keep telling me what happened in 1949.
I really don't wanna hear what happened in 1949.
Okay, Killer.
You keep going back.
Look, think about- I don't know what I'm just saying.
Yeah, think about that for a second, right?
When you talk about Bill Russell in them, right?
And then we didn't wanna hear that.
But when they watched Michael Jordan,
they could not deny that he was a little above them.
You know, it's not like our generation
where we can actually argue that that's not better.
You getting what I'm saying?
So I understand what you're saying,
but I'm not seeing people today that I'm like, oh yeah.
Like when I see KD, I'm thinking he's like that.
Pause, LeBron, he's like that.
But a lot of these players are not like that.
They're just in a much more gentle league.
If you, and somebody said,
if you gotta go back 40 years,
if I was watching Dr. J and then, and George Gervin,
and then I saw Michael Jordan,
I still know that Michael Jordan is dead nice.
I still know that Charles Barkley is dead nice.
Even white boys, Chris Mullin,
I take nothing away from Chris Mullin.
I think he's that nice.
The time doesn't change that.
I think what they're misunderstanding
is the tenacity in which you're playing.
It's almost like, I can't say it on TV,
but it's a certain kind of league that we talk about
and we say, oh yeah, they can lose 20 games
and still win a championship.
You know the name we give that league.
That's what it starts to come across as
when you're looking at NBA players.
Yeah.
So let's actually take this to a deeper discussion.
So the Shannon Fry quote that you guys were talking about,
basically, he was saying,
nostalgia and criticizing today's players
has alienated today's athletes.
He said, nostalgia is killing the NBA.
The 90s basketball era with Michael Jordan
and Kobe Bryant was not as clean as you think.
Y'all forget that Jordan left the league for two years.
Y'all forget that Kobe, rest in peace,
quit on his team in the playoffs
and refused to shoot the basketball.
So all this talk about Kobe, Jordan,
oh, he's not this, he's not that, it's propaganda.
Every great player, whether it's Aunt Wemby, LeBron, Steph,
whoever, gets compared to players from 40 years ago.
But the rules weren't even the same back then.
So to this quote, what do you think?
And I'm gonna, I promise, I'm gonna shut up after this.
What we're basically saying is this.
We're not trying to compare them.
If you stop comparing them, you...
This generation keeps trying to compare it and then get mad that you're telling them that your comparison
Pails in comparison like if you're talking about we had Michael Jackson. I'm not gonna tell you who you have
We had Biggie Smalls and Tupac. I'm not gonna tell you who you had you get what I'm saying like on every single level I'm not gonna tell you who you had. You get what I'm saying? Like on every single level, I see some people that have raised up to that level,
but everything has not come to that level.
You get what I'm saying?
We had Janet Jackson.
I'm not gonna tell you who y'all have, you know?
Now, Beyonce has raised up.
You get what I'm saying?
Beyonce has, she's from our time,
even though she's doing this still now.
So I think people need to stop comparing it
because then when you compare it
and somebody tells you how you're wrong,
then you get upset.
Let's just stop comparing.
Just be okay with you being the greatest in your time.
I'm okay with that.
I'm okay with you being the greatest in your time. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with knowing in 97 when I drop,
there's no nigga that's hotter than me.
None.
I don't care where they from or where they were
or who they are today. Not one.
And be okay with that.
But I ain't gonna compare myself to Drake today
or Kendrick today. No, you have to be okay with that. But I ain't gonna compare myself to Drake today or Kendrick today.
No, you have to be okay with your own skin
that this time, you are that one.
And this time, LeBron is that one.
And this time, Stephen Curry is that one.
Who cares about the past?
Right now, who's who?
And be okay with that.
Great take. That's why they say comparison
is the thief of joy because people are always
comparing things that are sometimes not even seen.
If you compare me, I gotta defend myself.
And that's why we need to stop,
because it is an injustice.
If I'm listening back to myself talk about Tatum,
I can hear that. Oh, man, he's hating on Tatum.
You get what I'm saying? But I'm not.
So I'm just defending my generation because what I saw hear that. Oh, man, he's hating on Tatum. You get what I'm saying? But I'm not. So, I'm just defending my generation
because what I saw was better to my liking,
to my preference.
It doesn't take anything away from him,
so stop comparing him.
And that's the trainer trying to get him some more people.
So, he's gonna say this, and then you look at his clients.
He also got Bradley Bill. He need to get Bradley Bill back in the gym. some more people. So he's gonna say this. And then you look at his clients,
he also got Bradley Bill.
He need to get Bradley Bill back in the gym.
You don't need to be making these quotes.
He need cones out and he need drills for Bradley Bill.
He don't need to be having this conversation.
And this is where people start saying,
we're taking shots at people.
Like I'm not one of those people that let you pee
on somebody and tell them it's raining.
No, let's stop with all of these games for real.
It's irritating.
Killer.
This is good.
But Cam, what are your thoughts?
I'm putting my glasses on.
Yeah, it's time.
I'm putting my glasses on.
You got time today. I forgot.
I forgot.
No, this is great.
This is what we like to hear, base.
This is great. I actually what we like to hear, Mace. This is great.
I actually have nothing else to say.
Yeah, they're letting people pee on each other and say it's raining.
Like, come on, bro.
I like this guy. I don't have anything else to say either.
That was great, Mace. Great take.
That would be my take for what's his name?
Channing Fry. That would be my take.
It's like peeing on somebody and saying it's raining.
That part.
That's it.
Mm-hmm.
And I'm not trolling.
And I'm not doing it for views.
That's honestly how I feel.
That's great.
And that's valid.
People be lying to themselves.
Yo, I'm as good as Cam.
You're not as good as Cam, bro.
You hit a little lick, pause, and it's okay that,
you know what I'm saying?
A broke clock is right two times a day, you know?
Every dog has his day, but you're not a dog now.
Come on.
You're right, I cannot disagree.
That was very, very well said.
Very well said.
Let him cook.
No, literally, he's cooking.
I'm like.
I just want you to see it.
It's like, we have Jordan, y'all got LeBron.
Okay. We got Janet Jackson.
Y'all got who?
Who?
We got Beyonce.
Y'all got who?
We got Biggie. Y'all got who?
We got Biggie.
Y'all got who?
Like, you start looking at that like, come on, bro.
Like, don't lie to yourself.
And these people, some of these people are dead,
so you can't, you can't, um, they can't argue for themselves.
So you're wrong to even put yourself,
it's classless to put yourself in an argument with people who are not here. It makes no sense. It's stupid.
Right. Because you can't compare.
Yes.
Our generation, okay, they say Chris Brown, they say Kendrick, they say Drake.
Chris Brown is amazing. But you don't put him against Mike.
Yeah.
is amazing. Yeah.
But you don't put them against Mike.
Yeah.
Like, it's a difference.
Like, I tell people this.
You get screams.
You've never had somebody fall out because they saw you.
That's different than a scream.
That's a whole nother level.
You can't compare those.
You getting what I'm saying?
I do.
And this is like real serious because I don't even think,
what I'm trying to say is the money is
so good in this generation, I don't think people are shooting
for that level of greatness.
So if you're trying to compare a person that's not even
shooting for that level of greatness,
and you're so deceptive that you're going to tell him
that he's greater than the greatness that we've seen.
He's like on the third floor.
This person is on the 10th floor and you're saying,
oh no, you up there with him.
This is the internet for us.
A person get one record and you're like, oh my goodness.
He's up there with them.
He could be on this level.
And you start pleading into the future,
but none of that is guaranteed.
What these people did is guaranteed
because it's already etched in history.
We gotta stop with all this money we paying people
to get on these sports shows.
And all of these suckers that are analysts,
they were never nobody. They got a mic in front of them
and now they wanna be cool.
So they're saying what the players are telling them to say.
Me, I was always cool.
I was always cool.
Wow, mic drop, preacher don't.
We got time, I'm gonna shoot until you get back.
Yeah, yeah. Now you can...
Pause.
Now you killed him.
Yeah, they're giving a lame report.
We gonna let them keep giving a lame report.
That's great. I... literally, enough said.
That was very well said.
We're gonna move on,
because there's no better time
than now to discuss this Pistons win,
117 to 97 over the Celtics.
This is their eighth straight win for the first time
since 2008, Mace.
Does this specific game change how you view
either the Pistons or the Celtics?
No, and two things could still be right, okay?
So now we got the Celtics headed to Titletown.
They're headed to Titletown.
If all goes well, they win their second championship,
and now I'm gonna let them live
on the other side of Titletown.
They won't be on my side just yet.
They'll be on the light skin side of Titletown,
but we're
gonna welcome them in. But them losing to this to the Pistons is good news for
Detroit. A lot of great things have happened for Detroit lately. I mean other
than the Lions not winning, they got a skill of baby, they got all these people
in Detroit doing well. Shout out to the music scene from Killer and I.
Shout out to everybody in Detroit
that's making their way from dance and to rap.
You know, there's just so many great things going on
and them actually winning this game,
they don't have to sell chicken no more.
You remember that?
If they win, everybody get free chicken.
I'm happy for the city of Detroit.
Saginaw, Flint, all of those places.
Even Pontiac, shout out to all of y'all.
M&M, you know, D12, everybody.
Kid Rock.
Trick, trick.
And the list goes on.
We have it. Okay, and Ken, what are your thoughts
on the Pistons winning over the Celtics?
I think this was a good one for the Pistons.
Not just a good one, a great one because last year I remember the Pistons leading off most
of the sports shows just to see if they lose in streak, but it's continued.
They was going towards the most losses ever in NBA history.
And that was leading all sports shows.
For them to be in this position today is really incredible.
I don't think that Boston played up to their full capability.
They wanted to see what the Pistons was gonna do.
At this, when I say this level,
think this is a big game, the Pistons in fifth place.
Detroit was packed,
Jaylen Rose was there, it was really crowded.
And the stadium was crazy,
and they had the energy, the momentum,
and Boston was like, okay, y'all feeling it,
so go ahead, rock out, rock out.
And they look really good,
but I don't think Boston played up to Boston expectation.
I think it was more about Boston on the road,
not saying they want to lose the game,
but let's see what these niggas is really about
because they was gonna be on a hundred
and they was on a hundred.
So congratulations to the Pristons.
Y'all are gonna get some attention that y'all deserve,
but what are y'all gonna do
with the attention that y'all get?
That's the question.
Cause now how's it going?
Got it.
Okay, so y'all podcast P is taking a break,
but we will discuss when we return.
From broadcasting?
We will discuss.
Or from the Sixes?
We'll find out when we come back from the break.
Okay. She call this thing a boss toxic Four years and counting
Got you feeling like option Maybe I'm her, got you feeling like a option.
Maybe I'm on my own problem, babe.
She's tired of hearing, I don't know.
I'm stubborn and me won't fall. Oh, oh, dealing with this thing called trust.
But she really thinking about it.
She wanna be free.
Why am I in this one? Why you wanna be free?
Why am I in this one? You ain't free.
Welcome back.
So I'm being dramatic when I say this,
but y'all done bullied Paul George out of his podcasting.
He's taking a break to focus on a championship.
He made a statement saying,
I want to let the podcast P Family know
that after today's episode with Dwight Howard,
I plan to take a break from the podcast
just to focus on getting my body right,
getting my mentality right, and, you know, help the squad
make a push toward our goal to finish the season out
and give ourselves a chance to be in contention
to compete for a championship.
So, Mace, what do you think of him letting this go for now?
Podcast P, woo!
Yes, Podcast P! Keeping the main thing the main thing.
Thank you for not letting those Philadelphia people
raid your house, break into your car
and remind you why you are a 76er.
Cause they were losing their patience.
So I'm happy for Paul George.
I'm so happy.
I wouldn't have said throw the whole show away
because I think your show is really cool.
And I think, you know, if you just put basketball first
you still can do that podcast.
But I'm so thankful that he came with this response.
You know, a lot of times when people go through things,
the response tells you the character of the person.
You know, not the what people do to you,
because what people do to you, pause, is not your business.
It's how you respond that is your business.
So him hearing all these rumblings, then you got the GM,
you got, you got the teammate, everybody like, man, Paul George,
getting all this money and he's not really playing and he got to take care of
his body, but he's mainly focusing on his podcast.
And I'm just saying this is all hearsay. I'm not saying any of this is true,
but when you hear all these rumors, how you respond
shows a lot about who you are. It's like LeBron,
when he heard all those rumblings,
and then he came back and got those two championships.
And then he heard he couldn't do it in Cleveland,
and then he made his way back to Cleveland
and got the championship. So as you can tell,
we just call it like it is.
It is what it is.
If you're playing great, we're talking great.
If you're playing bad, we're talking bad.
So don't put that on us.
What do they call that when you start putting your views on other people projecting?
Yeah.
Yeah, don't project when they come that it is what it is.
It is what it is is just a mirror of how you really look.
That nobody else is telling you.
Okay. And then, Cam, what do you think
about Podcast P taking a break?
I think this is crazy, to be honest with you.
He must got like Podcast P seriously though,
or something, this is kind of crazy.
He must really have an alter ego podcast P
for him to be like, yo, I don't know.
Listen, I don't know how much he making on his podcast,
but I'm pretty sure if it was anywhere close half,
25% of what he makes in the NBA,
they would be talking about it.
So I don't think this has anything to do
with a bunch of money for his podcast.
Not saying he ain't making a few hams,
and I'm not saying that he ain't making no bread on it,
but it is nowhere near what the Sixers is paying him.
So he says he has a whole podcast, an announcement,
to say that he's not doing the podcast
to focus on making a run
at the end of the season to possibly be in the plan.
So you figured that out in March.
You know, it's March.
You say, I would be so mad if I'm the Sixers fans,
if I'm the GM, if I'm the coach, the niggas said,
in March, you know what, I wanna buckle down
and help this team out
and get to where we need to get.
You wasn't thinking about that in October?
That's crazy.
Yeah.
But the craziest shit,
the craziest shit is this.
This is why I say he must really out the alter ego
because he put podcast P away,
told him, yo, I'm gonna miss you.
I'll see you after the season.
You know, it's gonna be tough without you,
but I gotta do what I gotta do.
And the nigga, even though they lost to the Knicks,
the nigga had 25, eight, and seven.
He was looking like Paul George a little bit out there.
More than, you know, more than we've seen this season,
but it looked like a really decent Paul George.
So podcast P murder really
has to get put away.
Yeah. He got to bury it. He got to bury it. Yeah. He got to bury it.
How the same day you announced you put podcast P away, 25, eight and seven in the garden
when you haven't been playing well.
And this is what people don't like to hear, Killer.
But it's March.
It's the same.
Yo, you gotta get...
October...
I'm not trying to tell you. Come on, man.
October, he was podcast P.
November, he was podcast P.
Came back from Thanksgiving, podcast P in December.
Came back from Christmas, podcast P in December, came back from Christmas, podcast P in January, Valentine's come around,
podcast P again, and then on March, he's saying,
I want you to see how this sounds.
So 75% of the season is gone,
and it just clicked on in his mind
that I play basketball.
This is also his first game with 20 plus points this month.
Yes, this is what I'm saying.
And when we say this, people say, oh, you taking jabs.
Taking jabs at what?
Like Floyd said, hating on who?
Like Floyd said, hating on who?
Yo, 75% of the team, I mean, 75% of the season is gone
and is just clicked on in his mind.
And this is what happens when people
don't tell you the truth.
Now somebody may say, Mace, you got his number.
You should have said that to him.
I will make sure before this comes out
that he did get a text about this,
because I want people to hold me to the truth,
and I want to hold people to the truth.
And those are the only people I want to be around.
I don't want to be around somebody.
You got to tell them they're good when they're not.
And I don't want nobody to tell me I'm good when I'm not.
That's why Cam is cool, because when he call me,
he be like, yo, yo, murder, we slipping, bro.
Well, he'll tell me, yo, bro, you need to be doing this.
And I don't ever get upset.
That's been our relationship since we've been kids.
Like, yo, killer, you gotta run, bro.
Like, if I see it, he was cheating in Central Park,
I told on him.
I hold him accountable.
He's still mad about that, though.
I would be mad too.
I hold him accountable.
You just found that out.
You just found it out, though.
Just like, we just found out that Playoff Pete,
I mean, podcast Pete is back.
It be like that sometimes.
That's what I was saying. Like, yo, the nigga found out in March,
he gotta put the nigga away.
I'm just trying to say, see, I think,
listen, today you're making,
I don't really gotta say a lot, you're saying everything.
But that's what I was saying
before you actually broke the months down.
Forget the fans and people like us who talk about this.
The niggas who pay him have to be on fire.
Yo, so, yo, we've been paying you all these months
but you wasn't focused on helping us get to the playoffs?
Yeah.
What do we, so he worked for me,
he's a full-time podcaster and a part-time basketball player
until last night, he's back being a basketball player.
That's all I'll, yo, this is wild, boy.
Shout out to the goat.
So, I do want to reiterate his quote, Willie Quick.
So he said, give ourselves a chance to be in contention,
to compete for a championship.
Do you think that they have a strong chance at that?
Okay. Now I'm going to switch, pause.
I'm going to switch into what most sports analysts do
when they're cool with a player.
This is what they'll say.
Well, you know, he's going through things with his family.
Maybe the podcast.
It's therapy for him.
They love to put it in a realm where you can't refute it.
This generation is great at excuses.
If you can't do the job, give the money back. That's my quote.
If you can't do the job, get the money back.
If you're not going to show up, give the money back, bro.
People love to spend the money and not do the job.
If you can't do the job, give the money back.
That would be what I would say to that.
Valid and then it can't.
But Murda, the question was,
do you think the Philly got a chance?
No, that's why we need the money back.
That's why we need the money back.
Philly absolutely doesn't have a chance.
Saying does Philly have a chance is like running a marathon
and you skip Brooklyn, you skip Manhattan,
you skip Long Island,
and you're gonna start running in the Bronx?
No, there's no way you're gonna finish with us.
We're already three fourths already through the boroughs.
You gotta catch up.
So I might be running a marathon this year, Killer.
I wanted to tell you that.
I might be running a marathon.
All right, sounds good.
Make sure you don't cheat.
Ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha.
For one of your things, take a cab to.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
I'm out of it.
I'm here for greatness, you hear me?
Yeah, that's the only reason we supposed to be here anyway.
Yeah. And do something great again.
Right.
Make Harlem great again, right?
Yeah.
Anyway, seriously, the sixes,
I don't think they have a chance to see,
especially with Joel and B,
probably gonna end up shutting it down.
But the interesting thing is this,
they're only two and a half games outside of the playing.
That's what's crazy about the playing,
is that the playing, you could be fucking up all year,
end up getting in the 10th seed,
one to two playoff games, and then be in the real playoffs.
Imagine that happen.
I'm not saying they would go anywhere in the playoffs,
but let's say the Philly ends up making it to the playing,
the 10th spot, ninth spot, whatever.
When the two playoff games or whoever they got to play
and now they're in the playoffs, it's a whole new conversation.
Now I'm more mad at podcast Pete.
Cause you've been fucking with niggas all year
and you could have been doing this.
That's what you saying?
Period.
But I don't think they're going anywhere.
I'm not, not the last thing I'm saying.
I don't think that they're going to make it,
but it's not impossible for them to make it.
And if they make it, that would be wow.
Go ahead, Murda.
Yeah. And part of, part of him not playing
leads to more, more wearing tail on Joel Embiid.
So even that is contributed and is calculated
in the rebuke that I'm giving him right now.
But if he changes mind, he wanna do right, I forgive him.
And he gotta get back to balling though.
But anytime somebody up here slacking,
we gotta tell them the truth.
Yeah.
Okay, well, a team that does have a chance, the Nuggets.
Today, the Nuggets will play the Bucks.
So, Underdog has Jokic at 26.5 points.
Do you have him higher or lower, Mace?
Hmm, higher.
What? That's a low number for Jokic.
I think they must know something,
because that's a low number.
Okay, Cam?
I'm gonna go lower.
Today he's been doubled in triple team,
but that's why you see his assistant crazy.
He had 19 assists over there, something crazy like that.
Set the record for son of with assists.
Only reason I'm going lower,
because rest of the season,
he's gonna get doubled in triple team.
Okay, Iannis is at 27.5 points.
Do you have him high or lower? Cam?
I'm gonna go higher.
Yeah, higher.
Okay, and Damian Lillard's at 24.5 points.
Do you have him high or lower? Mace?
Mm.
Why did you ask me that question, Stat?
I'm gonna go, pause, lower that question, Stat? I'm gonna go pause lower.
Okay, Kim.
Yeah, I'm interested in this matchup.
This we'll see with Damian, Lilis,
and also see where Jamal,
Murray is at.
Basically not where they're at.
Of course, skill wise, you know, both of them are NBA,
All Stars, but superstars is that.
But it's about health.
And I know sometime Damian Lillard plays with Payne,
Jamal Brown, he's in and out the lineup this season
with injuries definitely last season.
But he looks like he's really healthy,
pushing towards the playoffs.
I think it's a great matchup,
the best matchup at the game outside of,
of course, Luca and
Yannis, but I'm going to go lower.
I'm going to go lower.
Yeah.
Okay.
Make sure y'all download the underdog app and you guys can make your picks too.
So we're actually going to circle back to that Sixers game because the Knicks ended
up beating them 110 to 105.
A Knicks win guys.
So we got to talk about it.
How do you feel about them being the third seed right now,
Mase, because this is your team, apparently?
Stats, come on now, Stats.
You haven't been here all week.
What?
You haven't seen what the Knicks have been doing.
Okay.
You wasn't, was you here for my Knicks jacket?
Yes.
Oh, my bad. I was here for your Knicks,
I was here for your Lakers run,
I was here for your Denver run,
I was here for, I could keep going, you know.
We could keep going.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
So how's your team?
How you feel about a win?
It's not my team. I like the jacket.
I was showing Sin some support.
He seemed like he was going through anxiety.
So I was helping him out with his anxiety.
And the Knicks winning this game changed absolutely nothing
because they're playing again a sixes team without Joe Allen beat I have to see them against real competition
without Joe Allen beat is not a true sense of who they will be playing had
they won this game against Denver it would mean something different if they
won this game against the Lakers they would have meant something different if
they won this game against Dallas or any one of the formidable opponents.
Right now I don't think with these pieces missing that this is a formidable team, especially
with when you got Paul George coming back and he hasn't been playing pretty much for
five months.
It's not the same.
Okay.
And so I don't look at it like anything.
Alan.
But shout out the worldwide West.
I hope they get it together in New York.
Hey, Kim.
It doesn't matter if it's not happening against the top three
teams in the NBA.
They're supposed to beat the Sixers at this point in the
season where the Sixers are and where the Knicks are.
Right now, the Knicks have the worst,
when I say the worst part,
me call Anthony Towns, I think I said this yesterday
on the show, bottom five in his position for defense.
Same thing with Jalen Brunson,
as good as both of those players are,
they're becoming liabilities on our defense.
So them beating the Sixers by five points
and then they had to come back to do it.
They was up, the Sixers came back,
then the Knicks had to come back and they won by five.
But for Paul George to be back for a first day
as a basketball player, Joe LMB not playing,
this should have been a runaway victory for the Knicks.
But right now, the Knicks to me, it isn't about Philly.
It's about them not being able to be Cleveland, Boston or OKC.
And the games aren't even close.
And the reason that we hold these expectations for the Knicks because of the season they had last year.
And we seen the emerging superstar Jaylen Brunson.
So everybody came into the season whose Kn Nick fans in New York is like,
yeah, this side, yeah, this side, yeah, this side, yeah.
And listen, you have plenty of time to make adjustments
and see what y'all can do
because this is the worst probably defensive team
that I've ever seen coached by tips.
Y'all have time to make adjustments and see what happens,
but it's not looking good heading into the playoffs.
And the depth on the bench,
it's no, they have no bench. You know, we'll see what happens.
And you know what I thought about Stad and Kill,
I mean, Killer and Stad,
while we're having this show going,
I think we need to start figuring out
who people wanna be and then just judge them
based upon who they wanna be.
Like if they wanna be great, hold them to greatness. If they wanna be cool, just hold them based upon who they want to be. Like if they want to be great, hold them to greatness.
If they want to be cool, just hold them to cool so they don't get the scrutiny for greatness
if they don't want to really perform on that level.
So when you say that, Ari, is that kind of like, so you know how there was the whole
conversation about Ant-Man saying he doesn't necessarily want to be the face of the league
to have that pressure?
You're saying hold them to what their expectations of themselves are rather than putting them
higher to a standard that they might not necessarily want.
So when we say, hey, we shouldn't even be putting them in that conversation, that's
why because that person doesn't really want to be that great because if they want to be
that great, they have to be held to that standard.
So when you say that, does anybody come to mind or no?
No, I'm just saying, I'm just going to start applying that to everybody.
So there's no, nobody have to feel no way.
If you want to be that, then I'm going to talk to you like that.
But if you saying you want to be, you putting this person in a greatness conversation, we
got to hold them to what greatness is.
And I think that's fair. That'd be fair for everybody.
Okay. Sounds right. And then, so we talked Pistons,
we talked Celtics, we talked Knicks, but from what we've seen
so far, Mace, I'll let you go first. Who are your top five
teams right now that you think have the most potential
to win it all?
East or West?
Mm-hmm.
If we're talking East or West,
what top five teams I believe could win it all?
The Lakers.
The reason why I say the Lakers is because
if they get past that second round,
the further they go, the more dangerous they become.
Pause, because you got two elite scorers.
When it comes down to a seven game series,
it's who can impose their will,
because you may have a good game,
the bench may win a game,
but it ultimately comes down to who's actually better
and who can get it done.
And I just don't think in a
seven game series if you put LeBron on that stage that he'll shy away from the
moment that's why I'm starting with the Lakers not just for new hotness I think
I think they have that Cinderella story written all over them because of the
trade and everything that happened with Bronie. What would be better that Bronie came in
and won a championship?
What is that?
That would just be pause, mind blown.
But the second team is, and I'm not saying this
in order of the Lakers is the best team.
That just was the first one that came to mind.
Boston, Boston definitely can win, win it all.
We already know every reason why Boston could win it all.
Then when you leave Boston, you got Denver.
Denver is another team that can win it all.
I just think all the other teams on the East,
something will happen as a reason why they wouldn't win it.
Um, who else?
I said, okay, see number four.
And I really can't go with five because there's a lot of
teams that are tied right there.
Um, who else, who else?
Uh, I would say the Knicks, but just the Knicks just is always something gonna go wrong.
You just don't know what it is. I would say Golden State.
So the Cavs aren't on your list?
Golden State and the Cavs are tied for five.
And then Cam, what are your thoughts?
And then Cam, what are your thoughts? And my list, and this is in my order, I think Boston's number one, Denver's number two,
those teams at the top purely because of experience, they've been to the championship.
They actually part me both NBA champions, Bolton, Boston Celtics, and the Jason Tatum
era been to the Eastern Conference Championship,
I believe five times, two times, NBA Championship.
They know what it takes to win
when it boils down to the end of the season.
It's looking like everybody's healthy
on Boston and Denver.
Number three, I would go with OKC.
They're young, they're looking good.
They're actually looking unstoppable.
My question for them is what are they gonna do in the seven game series? We sat there and watched
them beat Minnesota. I believe it was Sunday. Then Monday they blew a 27
point lead in the fourth quarter. Uh, so those are adjustments that people are
going to make on okay. See throughout the seven game series. Uh, number four,
I will go with Cleveland. Cleveland's looking really good. Donovan Mitchell
got his money.
Mowley is looking like an official center.
I think, I know we didn't get to that,
but he's looking like he possibly
a good defensive player of the year,
being that one B's out.
Garland's looking sensational.
First time Cleveland had three all-stars
since the LeBron era.
I like Cleveland.
Number four, number five is gonna probably be a shocker,
but I'm gonna say the Dallas Mavericks as well.
The reason I say the Dallas Mavericks is because Dallas,
and this is based upon their health.
When Dallas gets Anthony Davis back, Gaffer and Lively,
they are gonna be a full-fledged problem
in the front court for every team in the West.
I also want to put gold in state,
but because of Kyrie's experience,
championship experience I'm talking about,
them getting to the finals last year,
even though this was a Luka led team,
I think Anthony Davis is motivated.
I think Kyrie Irvin's motivated.
And I think Jason Kidd also had the experience
as a coach and a player to know what to do around this time. Killer did I hear you say that Jason the Tatum era? Yeah, which was the yeah
since Jason Tatum been there he's been to the conference Eastern Conference finally five times
and he's only 26 years old. So that's why I said the era we was talking about. Yeah. He's playing.
So that's why I said the arrow he's talking about. Yeah.
He's playing.
Still rated, you don't want to compare it.
I'm not comparing them.
I'm saying the Jason Tatum, he's been playing.
He's been there five out of six times.
Yeah.
Seven times.
No, that's right.
I'm just making sure.
Clarification.
Yeah, clarification.
All this.
Okay, and then last thing before we wrap.
So the NFL Combine officially starts today in Indy.
A lot of different reports have been quoted.
Interesting one here.
So the Falcons GM and coach said at the NFL Scouting Combine
that the team was actually unaware quarterback
Kirk Cousins was dealing with an injury late in the 2024 season.
How do you feel about them not really knowing
his injury status while he was playing?
Uh...
This sounds like people who not...
who's not getting along with each other.
Kirk Cousins said that they knew he was hurt.
They're saying they didn't know he was hurt.
Uh, at the end of the season, uh... that they knew he was hurt. They're saying they didn't know he was hurt.
At the end of the season, they put Penics in the start.
It looks like they probably be going forward
with Penics moving forward.
But you guarantee,
Kirk Cousins has a hundred million dollar guarantee
with the Falcons, a hundred million dollar guarantee.
So you're sitting there saying,
Dan, we're not even starting somebody
we just gave $100 million to.
And it's looking like both sides is on some
he said, she said shit, and it's not gonna end well.
They'll probably figure out the best time
to buy Kirk Cousins out so they can release him
and not give him all the money after the 100.
But a hundred guaranteed is a hundred guaranteed.
And it hasn't been a full year yet,
not a calendar year anyway,
that you signed this nigga for the deal.
So you got some years with him
and now you're not fucking with him.
So now all this, we didn't even know he was hurt.
They like, he's like, yes, y'all did.
It's not gonna end well.
What you think, Sat?
I mean, that's just a bad look.
I would have that they would have been better off
not saying anything at all,
because it's looking like excuses,
because Kirk Cousins wasn't playing up to par,
which is why they ended up, you know,
having him sit on the bench.
But I don't know. I just feel like justice for Kirk Cousins,
because he is a good quarterback,
and just the fact that now he's at the Falcons,
and people are questioning his gameplay
and now it's like all of a sudden, like he's hurt,
which if he is, hope he has a speedy recovery.
He has got to do better internally
because things like that shouldn't even be being spoken
about outside of the organization, in my opinion.
That's what I think.
I'm in agreement.
Okay.
I'm in agreement. I'm in agreement.
Yeah. So, hope he has a speedy recovery,
but I don't know.
We'll see what happens for the Falcons' future.
But they're in a good little spot right now,
so shout out to them and we'll see
what happens for them next season.
But that being said, talked about a lot today,
but that's all the time that we have for today.
Thank y'all for watching.
And as always, it is what it is. Thanks for watching!
