Yeah. Okay, all right. Let's get into these NBA games. The Lakers beat the Rockets, 101 to 94. The Lakers lead the series 2-0, no Luka, no Austin Reeves. Trista, how sustainable is this for LeBron and the Lakers and just how bad is it for Houston to be down 0-2 in the series? Oh, I mean, it's a disaster.

You're talking about a team that Mace was saying was a true contender that was the team he was riding with. You know, yes, did this? Yes. Trish, you're feeling it. Where are you at right now? You're definitely not in Portland. You're feeling it.

You might be in the Florida water. I think you're in Florida. I'm in Florida. I can tell you're talking crazy. You got a magic jersey on. Yeah, you're jumping the gun. Good, good. Anyway, we'll get back to it.

Yes, they lost Fred Van Fleet to start the year. Yes, they lost Stephen Adams midway through the season. and that hurt them. But like, at the end of the day, your two best scores that you're going, the two best scores you're going up against aren't anywhere nearby. It's a 41-year-old LeBron James. It's a Luke Kinnard.

It's an older market smart. And he had a vintage performance, 25, 2, and 7. And you've gotten a big game out of Aiton and like, what are you getting from Shangun? You're getting absolutely nothing from Shangun. You're getting nothing from Tari Isson. And KD, yeah, he missed game one, but what, nine turnovers and game two?

He can't do it all by himself. I think this whole trade, this whole roster, this whole coaching situation is in a little bit of flux and everything's on the table if they lose to the Lakers. Yeah, I heard somebody said, Coach Yudoka, he cheated on Nia Long. What you expect, you know, if he couldn't do that, what are you expecting at this point? I'm really sad as a KD fan, you know, as a KD supporter. This just doesn't look right. This is not, I'm glad I didn't put no money on this.

I would be expecting KD. to get it done. You know, being that LeBron doesn't have Austin Reeves. He doesn't have Luca playing in these first two games. And I know Katie didn't play the first game. But this second game, Katie got to get more than 23. Come on, man. and then 19 turnover, I meant nine turnovers. This is just uncalled for, man.

This is just not good. I'm trying not to say nothing negative about him, but it just reeks like, is he scared of LeBron? That's just the only thing I could think about. You know how when somebody just had your number since they was kids, you just could never beat this person. And he did beat him with Golden State, but I don't remember no other time of him beating LeBron.

This is not what Mello would have done. Mello would have paused ran through LeBron. Mello is the only one that get up for LeBron Paws. But this is just sad. This is really sad. I can't even talk. I'm so emotional about this. I was expecting better.

You're right. I went out on the limb. I put the Title Town line on it that these guys should at least, they should at least beat the Lakers. This is sad. They're making Jay Reddick look like a legend. in the West Coast playoffs. I blame this situation on Raphael Stone,

who's the GM for the Houston Rockets. You knew coming into this season that you didn't have a point guard and you didn't do anything to acquire a point guard. You know, you got Kevin Durant bringing the ball up. We thought A man would do a decent job. And you knew Fred Van Fleet wasn't going to come back. And now you don't have a point guard.

And it's showing in the play. It showed throughout a little bit throughout the season, but because of the height, because of the length, you're doing great, but now it's the playoffs and you don't have a point guard when you should have acquired a point guard, knowing that Fred Van Fleet was not coming back. Secondly, Kevin Durant in the first half had 20 points. And what happened? They made adjustments.

So therefore, they would go at halftime and they say, we're not going to let Kevin Durant get another 20 points, which I don't think that's Kevin Durant's fault. I think that's great coaching by JJ Reddick to set traps, so on and so forth, because he did shoot 12 for 17. But Kevin Durant is going to get double-teamed and they're going to take them, move him out of spots where he put him in spots where he's not comfortable. But he did what he's supposed to do.

But there's no point guard to organize the team. That's why I'm blaming it on the GM. And also, you know, I'm not saying Ume's a bad coach, but he's going to have to make adjustments as well knowing he doesn't have a point guard. Is it his fault that he has to have a point guard? No, it's the GM's fault he doesn't have the point guard. Now, to the Lakers, it looks sensational for the Lakers.

I didn't think the Lakers could win this series without Luca or Austin Reeves, and they're looking really great. Let's put into perspective this, that LeBron throughout his career is 24 and 0, I believe, when he's up to 2-0 in the series. 32. Pardon me? 32. 32?

Right, yeah. I'm underselling. 32-0. So I know he doesn't lose when he's up to O. So this just doesn't look good for Houston, but it just gives more credit to LeBron. You're missing 57 points a game when you don't have both these players playing at the same time

talking about Luca and Austin Reeves. And then you've got, you know, I've seen times where this season, I'm like, okay, LeBron, we all know that he's playing backstep to Luca and to Austin Reeves. So I'm like, okay, LeBron's getting a little older, you know, it's starting to slow down. But then when he doesn't have him, it picks right back up.

I'm like, oh, this nigger still can do this shit. This nigga is blowing by people. Double reverse dunking backwards in the game, cradling the shit. I'm like, yo, oh, I didn't know this nigga still can get like this. But now I see he'll use it, pause when necessary. What, 28 points. You just spoke about it, Trish. Luke cana.

Listen, he got the last two games. 50 points, 57 points? It's amazing. And this is credit to also to coaching. To Jay Reddick. Yeah, because you're sitting there saying, okay, we're going to go with you, Luke.

Niggas might be like, all right, come on now. Come on, bro. Come on, now. And he's out there showing his capability. We have a flash from the past. We got Marcus Smart. You got to think about somebody like Marcus Smart, right? Marcus Smart was so loyal to Boston.

You know, he would have his head green. you know, defensive playing, all types of them. They still traded on. And the moment that they trade him, they win the very next season. So that's like, damn, bro. That hurts because it makes it seem like, damn, without a problem when you get traded, and then they win the very next season.

And, you know, he was primarily in the NBA as more of his defensive specialist. But I remember him in Oklahoma State, and he was really good in college scorer and everything else. I actually think he stayed a year longer than he need to stay. But he had a blast from the past with 25 points. This looked really good. A lot of props to JJ Reddick, more props to LeBron James for doing shit that I still didn't even know he could do.

But I'd see he could do it when necessary. And I think LeBron gets excited when he plays against somebody like Kevin Durant. I know Kevin Durant was hurt coming into this game. But it's the playoffs. It's the playoffs. And we're going to see what happens. But Houston with no point guard, I don't see how far I could go. Yeah, I was thinking if they got my.

Marcus Smart guy out there, they, they, they could have just got John Wall. They could have got John Wall for the low pause and put John Wall out there. That would have been better than the guy Shepford or whatever his name was until Fleet comes back. Well, if I was Houston, I was saying this pretty much all year, and I'm not a fan of this because he's doing a phenomenal job against the Spurs right now, but I would have figured out a way to try to get Drew Holiday because Ime Yudoka is a defensive first coach, but you still need somebody with championship experience that can organize an offense and play both sides of the ball.

The issue for Reed Shepard is he's just, he's an okay defender, but he's going to get picked on and he's not shooting that well. Drew Holiday, I don't know what it would have taken to pry him away from Portland, and it is a lot of money and the salary cap would have had to be been taken into consideration. But if you add him to that team, boy, I tell you what, like, they could have been a true contender. Yeah, we'll definitely keep an eye on this series for sure. Speaking of the next series, just that you have this Orlando Magic shirt on.

Let's talk about how the Pistons beat the Magic 98 to 83. What did you? Yeah, she thought she was going to walk in there and troll us today. She did. I mean, she did. I know that's what she was thinking. She ran and got the shirt. She in Florida.

Yeah, Florida, Reverend. I mean, to be honest with you, it isn't really true. trolling us. It's more of what we said and more of the obvious that I don't know what somebody did to you in Detroit or what your problem is with Detroit. But the fans know that your hate for Detroit is special. This isn't really trolling us. It's just more of the obvious. And it'll be in the comments on how much you are hating on Detroit, hating on Kay Cunningham, hating on the season. And now you have on Orlando Magic Jersey. Last week it was a Nick Jersey. That's why we just didn't bother me seeing it. This is what I expect. This is a lot.

Your team is in there too. Cap USA. My team's not in there. Yes, the Ravens. DC. Yeah. Commanders. What did you think about this Pistons magic game?

Well, I just wanted to say I anticipated. I went to the Kitts store, and I was like, oh, this is kind of fire. I kind of like this little hockey shirt. And they were like, this is final sale because it's a collab. And I'm like, it's on sale? And they were like, no, it's final sale because it's a, because it's a collaboration. And I said, don't worry. The magic are going to win tonight. So I'm going to wear this on the show. And then I watched Orlando have one of the most disgusting, abysmal, just depleted, embarrassing third quarters I've ever seen. At one point, it was a 27 to 3 run, and I think it actually got worse because I was like taking notes as I was watching the game. They had six points scored in. total with like three minutes left to go. I thought in general, that's a big piece of Orlando's

offense failing them. And they were not getting strapped up, pause. They were missing a, I mean, it was great defense on both sides. So the defense was there for Detroit. I don't want to downplay that. But Orlando was also missing a lot of wide open shots, too. Duncan Robinson, he looked really good in this game two. Didn't look so good in game one. Kade, though, So Kay deserves every flower, roses, peonies, all of them, because he's just so under control on both ends of the floor. He manipulates the defense. He finally got Jalen Duren involved more, which Jalen Duren was looking scary hours for him in game one. I think he had a season low of four shot attempts in that game.

And like, to me, it showed that this is going to be a dog fight. It's going to be down to whoever is fighting for loose balls, whoever gets the other team into foul trouble. Wendell Carter had five fouls at one point early on in the third quarter. And so to me, it's really going to be a very back and forth series in terms of can you get somebody to get hot like the Pistons did for Duncan Robinson in game two or say, for example, a Desmond Bain type for Orlando. and really like how the coaching was. Whatever J.B. Bickerstaff did at halftime lit a fire to them. So congratulations to Detroit. And now we'll see what happens when they go back to Orlando.

This is wow. This is wow. You're losing all your credibility. Still standing for Orlando. You got to abort this mission of Orlando. There's no way this is going to be a back and forth series. I mean, they got this. It's one game, but I don't see them being a good match for Detroit.

I mean, when you look at the landscape of this team, Cater is going to be able to get whatever buckets he want. He should be the poster child for what they call it, a collapse lung, because whatever his surgeons did or whatever his doctors did, it doesn't look like anything is wrong with him. He almost had a triple double. He got 27-11 and about seven. And this is after, you know, making this way back after the first game.

I just think this series is over. I think it'll end up being probably, it may end up in like six games, but I'm thinking it'll be more like 4-1 or more like 6. I'm in 4-2. But I definitely am going for Detroit. I think Detroit runs away with this. Because when you look at the way they're playing them, they don't have an answer.

They don't have an answer for Kate. When they go to double, if Duncan is really hitting them shots, it's a foregone conclusion. To me, you know, we've seen these two games. We've seen Orlando on the playing. Then we see them in the first game against the Pistons. And we like, yo, this is what Pablo. This is what we thought.

This is what I'm saying, man. This is the Pablo we've been looking for. And that's what it's going to boil down to. You know, he didn't have a terrible game, but he didn't have a spectacular game. And he's going to have to have a spectacular game. He's going to have to have a spectacular game for them to have any chance in this series. Desmond Baines, he shot 2 for 11. He didn't play that well.

Those two are going to have to play well to make this any type of series. K. Cade Cunningham, he comes back and plays like he didn't have any problems. Even before this series started when he came back, and I'm like, he didn't miss a drum. He's very consistent throughout this whole year. Tobias Harris played decent. Both teams shot terrible from three. Detroit shot 25% from three. No,

Orlando shot 25%, but Detroit shot even worse at 23%. But the third quarter, Trish just said it. It tied to halftime and you get a runaway third quarter by the Pistons because, pardon me, by, yeah, by the Pistons. But Orlando, they even outscored the Pistons in the fourth quarter,

but because how good the third quarter was for the Pistons, it didn't matter what happened in the fourth. I was scoring them about 20-something points. So shout out to BJ, to Biggerstaff on a great coaching in the third quarter. But I agree with Mace, Trish, the hate is kind of wild. We'll see what happens. We'll see what happens in game three.

It is. I don't know what happened with you in Detroit, but it's very, very obvious. It's obvious, yeah. Yeah, are you ready to talk about it? Yeah, I think what I've realized today is that I root for being right. And I just believe, regardless of what happens in this series,

I think you saw in game one what I was talking about was my greatest concern. Tobias Harris was a negative 15 in game one, despite having a decent offensive stat line. And the question is, what are you going to get from him on both sides of the floor? Are you going to get the Duncan Robinson game of game two, or are you going to get the Duncan Robinson game of game one?

Same thing with Kevin Herder. Are you going to get the Sacramento Kings version of Kevin Herder? Or what version are you going to get the Atlanta Hawks red velvet version? So to me, you have Cade. We know that. And Cade's going to give you incredible, spectacular, consistent performances, no matter who the defense is. Can you get this team out in transition?

Can they go out and hit shots? because the more that you key in on this team, the lack of shooting and the lack of shot making is going to become apparent. It's just a matter of time before you say, you know what, Trist, you were right. Probably about 39% right on the show. Which isn't terribly.

Yeah, you're right above stat. You're right above stat, probably. A little understat. You know why, murder, she's still trying to fight. Lamar Odom played for UNLV. She's still trying to fight about that. One day she, I don't even know if you was on the show. She's trying to ask you on the low?

And the only other team that it seems like can give them some real competition are the spurs. But with Wimby taking a pretty hard fall, being in concussion protocol, and being hopeful to return in game three, how important is this Wimby watch? as far as giving O KC some competition later on in this playoff series.

Oh, man. Well, you're not going to get a very unbiased take because Portland, stand up. Be ready, Cam, because I don't even think Wemby's going to travel to Portland. We already got one on the road. To be honest with you, I think, well, not I think. The actual data is that Luke Cornett is a much harder center for this offense to go up against, truly. Like, yes, Wemby's incredible, and Wemby's offensive prowess is a big piece. But Wemby's on off, I think his plus minus for those two games, was a plus three, and he was actually not as effective, plus minus, then Luke Cornett. But in general, I think you're seeing the energy of what this brisky Blazers team can be.

And I think, and we hope for Wembe to make a full recovery. No, John, man. No, no. You trying to clean it up. It's amazing. Yeah. What I said last week, how do you, you said, how do you think that Portland can compete?

And I said, I don't know. The only thing that I can think of is if Wembe's on a minutes restriction or something like that. And injuries are a part of the game. We hate to see it. That happens in every playoff series. We've seen this over the course of time. It sucks, but it is how it goes.

And when you are a team that is frisky like Portland, we're just trying to use any advantage that we can, despite how horrible it is for the face of the league. So all I want to say is that I think that the Thunder are awesome. Chet looks awesome, by the way, like four blocks on a quarter. Let's get back to the Sun's matchup. I like Dylan Brooks and how he played. It doesn't really matter what Phoenix does. They can play awesome.

Dylan Brooks can give you a bunch. You can get some good stuff from Colin Gillespie. But at the end of the day, OKC is just too tough. Mike Tomlin becomes NBC's newest Sunday Night Football Pre-game Analyst. Trista, how do you think Mike Tomlin is going to do in this new role on the media side of football? You know, I was thinking about the replacement, right? Because it's not just where you're at, but it's the spot that you're in and who you're going up and replacing. So as soon as Mike Tomlin announced, he was out of there at Pittsburgh, you then see that Tony Dungey's contract has not been renewed. And I'm not laughing about that because I like Tony Dungey.

He's fine, and he was a legendary coach. But it had felt like over time when it had been so long from him being really apart and entrenched in coaching circles, being scheming everything up, like the further away you get from the game, I feel like the more out of touch you come as a personality, and we've seen that over time, for certain players, at least, or certain coaches. But like Mike Tomlin, I kind of like. I think he's been a spicy interview for years. He keeps it pretty much all the way real. He knows what it takes to win. He knows what it's like to do it with trash rosters. He's got a lot of stories. He's probably going to tell us a lot of

things about the Rathusberger days or the Antonio Brown days. So I think this is going to be a nice little look for this huge stage on Sunday night football. I'm very interested. interested to see how he comes in because sometimes there's an acclamation process when you come from, hey, we have to keep it tight. This is a PR thing. Everything's in-house. To be like, no, actually, Mike, we need you to kind of like do more than you would do at a press conference. But I like the move personally. Yeah, I think it would be really good for football because, like you said, he's a guy that don't hold punches, but he actually could give some very interesting takes. Because normally when we're hearing from people, just like this year we heard from Tom Brady, it had a

real spice when it's a new voice, right? When it's a new voice, they come with new stories, they come with new schemes, they come with new outlooks of how to read the game. Like, I hear Killer a lot of time talking about who is that Tony Romo where he's a better analyst than he is a player. And who knows? I feel like that do feel like that. This same thing could be true about. about, you know, this coach, you know, who knows what he will bring to the table.

I think he could add some better X's and O's than the people that are sitting out there. I think, like Mace just said, I do think Tony Romo. He's a great analyst. Tony Romo, one of them people that when you watch him the game, he says, uh-oh, I see this, and he puts a little zero on the screen, and that should be happening?

I'm like, yo, why the fuck you wasn't doing that shit when you was quarterback? Like that nigga be, yo, I would say he's probably, when I watch when he's announcing, I would say he's like at a 92% clip on what's about to happen before it happens. I think he's great. I think what Tristice just said, like, you know, sometimes it's a transition where you get a little better as you go along. I think Tom Brady went through that. I didn't like Tom Brady the first few weeks when he was doing it.

But then I think that he got a little more comfortable talking as time on the long. And when you bought this up, Trish, I didn't realize that Tony Dungey's contract was up and now I'm just sitting there saying to myself like, they just replacing black with black. So it can be Tony Dungey and Mike Tomlin. That's what I heard once you said that. I didn't realize that until you just said it. That's very disappointing because I do like Tony Dungey a lot. Shit, they both got the same amount of Super Bowl. Shit. But to me, Mike Tomlin, we'll see what happens.

I know he talks well. Pre-game, post-game, he's very aggressive, but still talks properly. But we'll see what happens over a 60-minute game. I get the first, you know, I'm going over under the first two, three weeks. He might slip up and say, nigger. He looked like this nigger.

The Rams have traded away their first round pick in eight of the last nine seasons. Since 2017, they've only had one first round pick. It was in 2024 for Jared Verse.

Trista, what are your thoughts on first round pick? Would you rather trade your first round pick for a proven veteran like the Rams have done? Or would you rather take a risk in the draft and get a rookie? I think it just depends on the situation that your team is in. When it's the Rams, you really have to maximize Matt Stafford, right? He's older. We don't know how many years we're going to get out of Matt Stafford. And he played phenomenally last year.

But I remember last... I'm tired of this. I'm tired of Matt Stafford. I'm tired of the hate on Matt Stafford. Yo, how many years we're going to get the nigga? Didn't he just win the MVP? They were saying this move. I hate to cut people off and line stuff.

Well, I mean, I really think that it depends on where your organization is. If you are in a rebuild and you really want to get some young talent, I think you should go through the draft.

I think you have the time to go get some talent and be homegrown, and you have the time to rebuild your organization. However, if you're in some sort of love, you're in some sort of love, you have the time to go get some talent and be homegrown, and you have the time to rebuild your organization. However, if you're in some sort of. window to win, a playoff window, a Super Bowl window, and you feel like you're just one or two, maybe three pieces away from where you need to be to actually make a playoff run or to make a Super Bowl run. I think you need to go get that veteran that's actually proven. So it really depends on where your team is in their rebuild or in their window to win.

Let me ask you something. So do you not believe that rookies can help you win? It's just a gamble. Oh. You don't know exactly what you're going to get until they get to the league. I mean, scouts and GMs do their best to try to cast. celebrate this algorithm to see how rookies are going to do, which you really never know until they get to the league.

My thing is to answer your question. Let me just real quick. To answer, Mesa's question. See, it ain't like basketball, right? Where it's a lottery and all this. We know the worst team is going to get the best pick. So mine out of 10 times, the great, the good players out of college are going to go to terrible teams.

And then football, you need niggas. You know what I'm saying? You need help with football. So when you sit there and think about a kid, and Ward and, you know, thank God he didn't get that much media attention because the Titans were terrible. We knew he was going to the Titans. You know what I'm saying? And then you think about whoever, not even nine or ten times, ten out of ten, out of ten, you're going to a terrible team when you're a great player in college.

We'll see what happens. I think what's an interesting scenario, though, is the draft for Mendoza. You got Tom Brady there. And they're spending a lot of money to try and get this team. good. I would like to see the turnaround between the Raiders this season and next season. I'm not saying Mendoza would get it done by myself if he has a good season, but he has a lot of good pieces around as far as players and ownership. So I would like to see a turnaround from the Raiders season this season to how it looks next season. Trish, I didn't mean to cut you off.

Go ahead. Well, before we know on the Trish, I'm sorry, just to kind of piggyback on you talking about Vegas. Mendosa is going to be the number on overall pick to the Raiders, and you guys have been in Vegas for a while now. How can you see this rookie coming in to Sin City? And do you think it would be distracting for them? Or how do you think Vegas is going to be for Mendoza in this number one pick? Well, the thing about Mendoza, he got a story, you know. He wanted to go to Miami.

They didn't want him. Then he had to go to this school. They didn't win the championship of Indiana. He seems very grounded. You know, we lived in New York majority of our life. And we know, even though the Giants playing Jersey, I lived in Jersey for a long time because I live in Jersey right next to New York. I've never in my life bumped into Eli Manning.

You know what I'm saying? You may bump in the Victor Cruz. You may bump in the... What's my nigga who shot itself? Plexico. Yeah, you might bump in the place. You're going to bump in the niggas. Yeah.

And I also don't think that Tom Brady's going to tolerate that from certain players.

We just had somebody on that was considering himself a GM whisperer, this guy on Lebertard today. And he said he could find out in 10 minutes whether someone was a cancer to a locker room or not. And he had all this examples of like Aaron Hernandez.

You could tell he was full of shit. And I think there's a lot of these evaluators that have these hairbrain sort of schemes in mind about how they can decide who's going to help a locker room or not. And at the end of the day, I think if you know that there's a proven vet who's a good locker room guy who's proven it on the field, it's just a higher likelihood that they're going to come into your franchise and do the same thing.

Yeah, a lot of, I mean, even Purdy, right? He was a rookie when they went to the Super Bowl. He got them to wins. That's why I wanted to ask that question. But Brock Purdy, not saying that he didn't, he didn't, deserve to end up earning a spot. He got his start because he niggas was getting hurt too. Garapol or the niggas was getting hurt.
