Starting point is 00:01:00 Cam what's up, man? Marta was good. How you what's up, man? Myrtle, what's good? How you today? Doing great, man. What's happening? What happened to your nicks, man? Ask that, that's what nicks. Oh, now it's mine. When y'all was coming in with the gear the last couple days, that's why they said y'all jinxed him.
Starting point is 00:01:17 So. They did not say I jinxed him. Yes, they did, specifically, both of y'all. They said Cam jinxed him. Specifically or specifically? Specifically! All right, I was about to say, I know we not. Yes, they did specifically both of y'all. They said Camden specifically. Specifically. I was about to say, I know we're not I know we're not doing pronunciation games up here.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Pacific Lee is where there is. Pacific, Pacific Lee is crazy. There is a Pacific is the ocean, right? I know that, Mase. I know that. I said specifically. Maybe I lisp a little bit. It happens.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Sound like pacifically. But I believe you. I'll take your word. Yeah, so that's y'all's team. What is money? Because yes, I forgot what you said. I think your word beats everybody's, even though it said it was a dictionary definition for it.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Like I've never heard that. Sweatlessly. Yes, you cannot sweatlessly. Okay, let's get into the game. So the Pacers beat the Knicks 130 to 121. Pacers are moving closer to their first NBA final since 2000 with the three and one series lead Mase. I feel about this game and where it's going.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Man, man, man. Shout out to the New York Knicks, man, for doing exactly what I thought y'all was going to do. This is why I jumped off the ship early. I told you I'm going. what was his name, Trey? Trey. Yeah, let me out. Let me out.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I'm out the whip. This is why I was out the whip. I felt it, pause. I knew they was gonna go down this road. This is classic, what we've been going through since about 1992, stat. That's about it. Yeah, this is exactly what has been happening.
Starting point is 00:03:11 We'll beat Miami, then we'll beat Indiana, then we'll lose to the Bulls, then we'll beat the Bulls and then lose to San Antonio. It's just always been like this. And I'm just over it. You know our girl, she's been cheated been like this. And I'm just over it. You know, our girl, she she's been cheated on so many times. She's just over it. You know, you tell her, no, you love her.
Starting point is 00:03:31 She's over it. That's how I feel about the next, you know, I love them, but I'm just over it. You know, if they win, I'll be happy for them. But. I have to say, what's up from the other side of the court, you know, when they when they lost to the Indiana Pacers, it wasn't nothing I didn't know. You know, they got they got the last game and Indiana came back like, you know what? We they corrected what they did wrong. See, I come say, you know what?
Starting point is 00:04:00 When we go into this second half, we're going to get crazy with them because we know how the Knicks like to do it. They like to come back. They like to stay around until the second half and then try to win the game. But you look at Jalen Brunson, he got 36 points, but he's still a minus 16. That's crazy to have 31 points and still be a minus 16 on the floor is, is something we got to talk about and continue to make a, make a mark about because even with my Cal Bridges,
Starting point is 00:04:30 he's he's 17 points, but a minus 13. So these people are just, they just not, they're just not playing as good as the other team at their, even at their position. It seems like you got Hollaburn, Hollaburn had 32 and he's a plus 16. So it's not just the points he's scoring is everything else he's doing with the basketball. He got 15 assists and now he got 12 rebounds. It's just, he just dominated the game.
Starting point is 00:04:59 And for all of you guys who voted against Halliburton, each of words, nigga, you said that you said that Halliburton. Eat your words, nigga. You said that you said that Halliburton was the most overrated play in the league. And this was his peers, right? That was overrated about 32, 15 and 12. And a game four. It's on you, killer. This is the team I already said was playing like the champs earlier, so this is not a surprise, the title time.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I don't recall you saying that. You don't recall me saying that? You don't? I'm gonna give you credit though. What you did say, this is what you did say. Okay. And it was early in the second round, last round. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:50 You did say whoever wins out of Cleveland and Philly is gonna beat whoever wins out of Boston. And you 100% said that. Okay. I gotta give you credit. I gotta go with what you remember. That's what you remember. I'm not saying you didn't say something. Maybe I missed the show. That is right in, but it's crazy how selective she's been.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Stat, you don't remember me saying Indiana is playing like, they're playing like the best team in the playoffs, and they're playing like they're on a mission, they're playing like a championship team. You don't remember that. Yeah, but you also said that the Knicks like you said a lot of things. In Golden State. But did you remember that? I guess. Okay, you can't be silent like the Diddy trials. If you know some, you got to say some, stat. You can't just be silent on stuff you know.
Starting point is 00:06:42 When I know something that I'm sure of, I say something. That I'm not sure of, Mase. Yeah, and to be honest with you, I have 17 teams in this playoffs, man, since the playoffs started. Golden State was title town when the playoffs first started. Yeah, they were title town. I don't mean that's the title. Curry wins this.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I'm putting them right there with Mike. Niggas don't remember that. Yo, I gotta go on the record and say, if Curry wins this, I'm putting him right there with Mike. Niggas don't remember that. Yo, I gotta go on the record and say, if Curry wins, then we gotta put him with Mike. This is what they was saying in the ghetto. Yeah, and then when Minnesota beat them, he's like, Ant-Man looks like he's on a mission this year. It looks like this could potentially be his year
Starting point is 00:07:26 to take things over. This is the things you say. That's why I said I'm gonna remember, I do remember you saying it for a fact. I'm not saying you didn't say it, but to Stats Point, how many things does he say, man? It's that, what I'm gonna have to say is that this is what Omar said at the barbershop.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I was just recalling something he said. I'm so mad I didn is that this is what Omar said at the barbershop. I was just recording something he said. I'm so mad I didn't stop Chris Jones, man. Yeah. To see if he's a title town. Should have stopped him yesterday, man, when he walked past. I would have took the phone out there, just got it on phone. He walked past twice, man. I wasn't even thinking about that, man.
Starting point is 00:08:01 I seen him here a few times. We'll catch him again. But yeah, Tommase is absolutely right about everything he said. Can't fight in the Knicks, thinking the Knicks is gonna stop nicking. You know, the Knicks nicking, and then we act like the Knicks ain't supposed to be nicking. This is what they do, we get excited over nothing. You name streets after niggas you give niggas They own avenues they own boulevards. She said og and a nobly alley on the street like this is what we're doing and last night was just a tremendous game to where
Starting point is 00:08:36 Indiana knew if they didn't win this game that they could particularly The next could probably turn this into a new series it wouldn't be a best of seven and be a best of five situation. And they didn't have that. Mace brought the stats up. Halliburton a triple double, 13, 15, 12. But the key piece to me, this making the Indiana Pacers win this series is Siakam. The last two games, even when they lost, but before they lost, well, he is the difference maker.
Starting point is 00:09:06 They have no answer for Siakam. I know that Halliburton scored 32, but Siakam had 30. Then we talk about the other night when he had 39. This is the real answer that the Knicks can't answer. This is the real question that the Knicks can't solve. And they're looking good. TIBs is being our coach. We're looking at a championship coach
Starting point is 00:09:27 against a coach who hasn't been to a championship before. On every level of that game last night, Indiana outclassed New York to where it just was to the point where they couldn't do none about it. And what I was saying to myself is no game, no lead in this series is safe. So when I seen the Knicks down 12 points in the fourth quarter, I didn't think much of it. When I see the Knicks down eight points with five minutes left, I didn't think much
Starting point is 00:09:54 of it. And then they even got it to probably within six or four, but every time they got within striking distance, Indiana put that to bed. So what I will say is this, and since the playoff system started, Indiana, not Indiana, pardon me, teams that are up three to one, the record is 256 to 13. So it's 13 teams, since the playoff system started, came back from a 3-1 lead.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Are the Knicks gonna make it 14? I don't think so. Doesn't look good. Well, hey, you never know. The Knicks, like I said, if anybody been pulling miracles off this playoff season, it has been the Knicks. But Indiana looks very good.
Starting point is 00:10:44 So I know that the Knicks made, not I know, we've seen that the Knicks made an adjustment to basically have Josh Hart come off the bench and that was in return what happened kind of for them to win game three in addition to other things of that we saw of course, but we see that that shift didn't help for game four. Josh Hart told reporters that he actually helped
Starting point is 00:11:03 with that suggestion that he he come off the bench. Mace, do you like that or do you just think that doesn't work for them? How do you feel about that? I think Josh, Josh Hart, he still had a decent game, really decent. He had 12 and 11 off the bench. That's actually great. I don't think some players, it matters if they start like their type of game, long as they get the same minutes, they can give you the same contribution.
Starting point is 00:11:31 There are some players that if they start or do not start, they're like a total different player. I don't think he's one of those players. I think he's one of those players that so mature when it comes to basketball that he's going to give you that same output pause no matter where you put them at on the floor. Because he understands his role on this team. That's to be, to be rough, to get rebounds, to, to make all the differences. And I think that's what he tried to do.
Starting point is 00:12:00 But, you know, they needed more, they needed more from people like Mikel Bridges and stuff like that. For us, I'm coming off the bench. I agree with Mase. Same thing. As long as he gets the minutes that he needs to get, then I don't think it's a big deal. Some people mentally can't come off the bench and I don't think he's one of the players like Mase just alluded to. He still had 36 minutes.
Starting point is 00:12:23 That's three quarters of basketball. Significant contribution. But the real reason they brought Mitchell Robinson in the starting lineup is to help out defensively. Jalen Brunson's a liability on defense and Carl Anthony Towns could be in foul trouble a lot in the beginning of the game. So I thought they did that to offset
Starting point is 00:12:40 some of the defensive problems that the Knicks are having. But it didn't work last night. The first game, to be honest with you, Indiana had that game under control too. They just let the game slide between the cracks pause. But at the end of the day, I would have started Mitchel Robinson again last night only for the fact that they won the game
Starting point is 00:13:01 when they did start him. So they'll say, okay, maybe this is a recipe for success. It wasn't last night either, or it just didn't get the job done. Didn't matter if Mitchell Robinson started or Josh Hart started. Uh, the role players are Indiana as long as, as well as their bench, all playing significantly better than the Knicks right now. Yeah. When they come to the Knicks, I think in order for them to win, they're
Starting point is 00:13:24 really going to have to start. They're going order for them to win, they're really going to have to start. They're going to probably have to take a page out of Denver's book and let, let, and not this not the first option. This will be the second option to let Kat bring the ball up. You know, he's shooting so well from three or let Mikel Bridges bring the ball up because too many minutes, I mean, too many seconds are going with the ball and Jalen Brunson saying he got about eight to seven seconds
Starting point is 00:13:52 to get the ball over half. And then he got another five to six that he's using by the time he figured out what move he's doing. He's really taken up all the clock. I just think that we're starting to see a lot more of the flaw, which I mean, y'all he's doing, he's really taking up all the clock. Yeah. I just think that we're starting to see a lot more of the flaw, which I mean, y'all did say the flaws from the Knicks and it's kind of coming to play game
Starting point is 00:14:12 by game and even down to Josh Hart, even though he is coming off the bench, him having five turnovers, can't have that. Is literally when you say that now is not the time, now is not the time for that to be happening. I'm kind of want him to be held more accountable because of the position that he's in. And I just feel like that's not translating necessarily on the court. Even though he did have 12 points, it's just not enough to kind of help them mesh. Even with Mitchell Robinson starting, I think that they need a little bit more tweaks there. So maybe they'll figure it out by the next game. But I think we're seeing how things
Starting point is 00:14:41 are starting to look Unfortunately, I Am a gentle I don't like it I'm not pressed oh I don't like well for the people that are Nick fans They really don't like this because they they had high hopes they definitely thought they was going to The arm the Eastern Conference finals and I think they could if they would have made the changes. But they ran into a very hungry Indiana team and a team that is playing with purpose, playing for each other. You take somebody like Siakam.
Starting point is 00:15:16 He's not even getting all of the plays called for him. He's he's getting dirty by mishaps like just just being a good basketball player, just stand around the ball, pause and just stand in the Florida game. And I like the way that Indiana is playing. Nobody is the set guy. It's like if you open, you get in the ball and even topping you hit a three from the top of the key. And and that was just like the Nell and they're coughing.
Starting point is 00:15:42 And I know that hurts more than anything, anything pause because this is a former Nick player that had the game in this shot. OK, and then also regarding the next, they actually had in New York, like a Jalen Brunson lookalike contest, and the winner of that, you know, gets two tickets to the next game. What do you think about those type of competitions? Are you for it or are you against it? Cause there's been a lot worldwide.
Starting point is 00:16:08 I like, I like all of those types of competitions. I actually even saw one with Jalen Brunson face on a NAS cover and they had the New York state of mind, the New York Knicks state of mind. So I like the creativeness. They just got to back it up on the court. This is what I've always had an issue with New York, Nick, state of mind. So I like the creativeness. They just got to back it up on the court. This is what I've always had an issue with New York about. They make the hype, they sell it. But then when it comes to, you know, closing the deal, they don't close it.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I can't wait to see, um, send he hasn't hasn't called me lately. He hasn't DM me or anything. I'm. He hasn't DMed me or anything. Send if you're out there, we just wanna know if you're okay, you know? Just what they call it, a security check. What do they call it, stat? Wellness. A wellness check.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I'm just doing a wellness check. I called him after they lost him, told him I was doing a wellness check. What did he say? Said he's well. You know niggas still think it's not over so you know. Come back in two days all that. Yeah, yeah like you know.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Far as the lookalike contest and all that, this ain't the time for that. Yeah, yeah, like you know. Far as the lookalike contest and all that, this ain't the time for that. This is not the time for that. This is the problem now. After niggas won the last series against Boston, that's what the Knicks are saying now, Knicks fans too. We beat the champs, but not in the championship.
Starting point is 00:17:41 She's like, what you talking about? Yeah, nigg gonna be bugging. But this is not the time for that. Like, yo, okay, cool, it was great to celebrate to get to the Easter Conference finals. Go off. Act crazy the three, four days you had. Now it's time to work on the next celebration
Starting point is 00:17:58 for the next round. Lookalike contests, street names, free sandwiches. No, no, no, no, man. This is not the time for that, man. This is not the time, B, not at all, man. So I get that everybody's in the spirits of things in New York, but having the Jalen Brunson lookalike contest, which one?
Starting point is 00:18:22 One after he lose, like which face are you trying to imitate if you're the Jalen Brunson imitation person trying to win tickets? I don't get it. Kobe, man, I think I said this a couple shows ago, Kobe was up two zero in the finals and they was asking him at the press conference, why you looking mad?
Starting point is 00:18:42 He said, well, so he'll be happy about it. The job's not done. It's not done. And this is somebody that was in the conference, not the conference, the finals up to zero. These niggas having look-alike contests down one-three in the conference finals, like, for tickets. There's some higher level Detroit piston shit from last year, baby.
Starting point is 00:19:05 For real, man, this shit is stupid. Fair. Okay. Hey, Kim, you keep this up, you're not going back to New York, I'm just letting you know. I go, I already put my bricks in that building. I'm cool. I go for my meetings, and if I gotta do something else,
Starting point is 00:19:23 cool, go check on my crib and all that. I'm not missing nothing. What am I missing on New York if it ain't a meeting? I got a meeting or this, that, and that. What am I missing? Steph, what is he missing? You love New York. I do love New York.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I don't know what he's missing. I'm just still figuring out New York for myself. What am I missing? Niggas, you know when niggas be calling me about shit that happened in New York for myself. I'm on this. You know when niggas be calling me about shit that happened in New York, they think they be telling me shit and they don't realize they pushing me further away. Every time they call me. Yo, it was crazy last night.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Niggas had to, everybody's outside, niggas had to barbecue, Humphrey, Thornton, Lennox, shit was crazy. They shoot out. Niggas was shooting, yo. Somebody outside, your little girl, was she good? Oh, it was wild. I she good? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 It was wow. I can't wait to get back. That's what I'm saying, man. Well, I will just add really quick. My experiences, granted, I know very different. It's cool going back and especially seeing like your like, like the murals and stuff that people like, to me, that's super dope. So it's like seeing where y'all grew up and especially seeing like your like like the murals and stuff that people like, to me that's super dope.
Starting point is 00:20:27 So it's like seeing where y'all grew up and like seeing like just all the love and I know like on the show for those purposes y'all feel how y'all feel about the teams. But for me, seeing it through my lens, I think it's so dope. So that's why like I have a different. Oh no, don't get it wrong. Listen, ain't no place like New York. Chicago pretty close city-wise,
Starting point is 00:20:45 landscape buildings, downtown. But New York is really like five cities. Like a borough is a big, I think Manhattan is bigger than Vegas. Or just about the same size to be totally honest with you, just a borough of Manhattan alone. It's mad different cities within one city. So I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Starting point is 00:21:06 You know, we tease the team, the Knicks a lot, because the real shit is it's frustrating growing up and having seen the team win a championship from the city you're from since you were born. You haven't seen it. So part and I don't give a fuckness about the Knicks, but we didn't cause that, it's trauma. We talk about sin, and we talking about a bitch.
Starting point is 00:21:30 I say, yo, the Knicks is like a bitch that's telling you, yo, come downstairs, I'll be there in 15 minutes, and you keep coming downstairs, and she never shows up. Every year, you keep coming downstairs to wait and then she said, I'm 10 minutes away, I'm playing there, and then before you know it, it's six in the morning, she's never there. So I told Sinness, so then when the Knicks
Starting point is 00:21:57 made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, he calls me and says, yeah, that bitch about five minutes away now, huh? I say, I say, I say yeah, this is true. She dropped the pin. You can definitely see she five minutes away. Now I wonder what the call is like.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Y'all had to stop and get gas. I caught a flat tire. What is it now that is one in three in the favor of the Pacers? What is the bitch that's supposed to come pick you up saying now when she was just five minutes away? Some came up. Yeah every year though every year something came up comparisons are crazy So I know we talked about the Knicks the team their fans on the Pacers side
Starting point is 00:22:43 So a Pacers fan has actually been charged after reportedly stabbing two New York Knicks, the team, their fans on the Pacers side. So Pacers fan has actually been charged after reportedly stabbing two New York Knicks fans at a brewery during game two of the NBA Eastern Conference finals earlier this month. Maze, how do you feel about just like how out of hand things have gotten and then just in general, not in comparison to this, has a game ever made you so upset in a way where you're just mad? Like it just moved your mood. This is, this is crazy. Now stabbing two Nick fans. I'm not with that now.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Now they getting carried away. Where did this happen in, in Indiana? Uh, yeah. Yeah. They got to cut that out. Cause I even saw a sign where it was like a parking space. They said $20 for, for Indiana Indiana fans and $100 for Nick fans. So you already you already beating them pretty conventionally.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Ain't no need to stab nobody for real. I mean, now it's getting crazy because, you know, you take that energy and bring it to New York. Now you got a whole nother thing to think about. I hope you don't think about stabbing nobody in New York. That will go real bad for you. Not just at the arena, it'll go bad for you. In the jails, it'll go bad for you until you make it back to Indiana.
Starting point is 00:23:56 So I don't really even want to laugh about that. I think that's uncalled for. What was the other statement about? Yeah, like we see how people get so, you know, into these sports games and frustrated. Has any game ever made you that mad? Yeah, I've been upset in times, but not to the level of wanna stab nobody.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Cam could have passed me the ball, but I wasn't thinking about no knife or nothing like that. I think she means as a fan, Macy's. Okay. As a fan, have you ever been that mad? You still dwelling on some shit for 30. Never gonna go away. That is a long grudge.
Starting point is 00:24:33 You've triggered me. You've triggered me. You've never played professional basketball, Macy, or anything. She's asking you as a fan. I don't know. Okay, well you go then. You go then. She asked me.
Starting point is 00:24:44 I was answering the question to, well you go then. You go then. She asked me, I was answering the question to the best of my ability. I was trying to clarify it so you could answer to the best of your ability. I just want you to do the best job you could do. I'm over here for you. Yeah, for me. I just want you to be the best version of yourself for us, man.
Starting point is 00:25:02 That's it, man. I'm not your enemy, man. That's all I was hoping for, man. Oh, Stat, he let you down easy, Stat. Me? Yeah. What I'll say is just to answer Stat's question, first part about the stabbing. He throw a garbage can, I pull a knife.
Starting point is 00:25:25 This is what you wanna do, what we doing? Yeah, you don't get to tell niggas how to respond. You throw a garbage can. I pull the knife, what we doing? That's how I took it. I don't know the date who got stabbed prior to the garbage can, or the garbage can was after the stabbing
Starting point is 00:25:45 But seems like niggas is pulling weapons out pause on both sides like One one city trying to up the other city. I know if you think we not like that cuz y'all from New York We like that. Listen, man, New York is let me tell New Yorkers this I'll tell you like this real quick For those two New Yorkers this, I'll tell you like this, real quick. For those New Yorkers that don't travel a lot, we always think we're the toughest, coolest, nobody in the country is more tougher than us, no more than us, etc., etc., New York's the best, da-da-da-da-da. That's our mentality when we go places, and especially if we've never traveled before.
Starting point is 00:26:24 And I'll make this a quick story. One time Zeke, Duke the God, Salt and Stan Spit, somebody else, Tito Poppins, I had to do an interview at the radio station in Miami. Everybody couldn't get in. They went off to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Zeke walks in Kentucky Fried Chicken and tell niggas move, New York's in the building,
Starting point is 00:26:44 we ordering, and tell some three niggas, move, New York's in the building, we ordering, and tell some three niggas get out the way and ordered it. And he ordered their food, and when they went outside, they trapped the car off and pulled out two AKs on them, and carjacked Duke and Zeke and Salt and everybody else. But they really just wanted, Tito tried to give them his jewelry, everything, because you know, they got the upper hand.
Starting point is 00:27:04 And they said, no, we only want his chain, talking about Zeke. Zeke had took the chain off and threw it already underneath the car, so they like, where's your chain? We seen it, you wouldn't, and he wouldn't give it up. So everybody's pissed at Zeke, dude gets pissed. So niggas is like, Zeke, you gonna get us killed because you won't give the chain up.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Make a long story short, they said, all right, New York, since y'all acting crazy, Everybody just got the car. We'll take the whole car and took the car because New York niggas who never traveled be thinking Oh, we in sunny, Florida. It's not gonna happen to us here sweet over here We got to stop thinking that you throw a garbage can somebody Indiana niggas said, oh, they think we some country as the bet Niggas said, oh, they think we some country ass, bet. Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut. Caught you, my nigga. Same way they, Charlie Murphy caught the nigga in Dave Chappelle's show.
Starting point is 00:27:51 In the real world, caught him walking past. You can't do that. Secondly, I've never been that mad. I've been mad about my team losing, but not to the point of stabbing, not to the point of doing something violent. And I'm not gonna lie lie all comes with time as well um
Starting point is 00:28:09 Getting older more mature saying I can't put my heart into somebody else who's we don't know what they're gonna do That's why I never gambled like that until underdog came around because I can't have somebody talking crazy to me because the dice is going their way today Now they think they somebody because they're having a good day of dice. I can't have niggas talking to me crazy at the dinner table because they got a good hand in spades
Starting point is 00:28:32 and now they want to slap the table with their card because they was dealt a good hand. Like it's out of my control with the cards we give. I don't like those games. I've never played Domino, all that shit. Uno, I stopped playing all that shit at the time because people really get hype like they did. So now if you're gonna beat me in basketball, you're gonna beat me in football, boxing, something like that where I can control the destiny.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Cool. I can't have you slamming your cards on the table because you had got the idea. So I took my emotions out of a lot of things. Oh, bless you. I took my emotions out of a lot of things over the years and loving teams the way I loved them. I can't get that man. You see, the Spurs haven't been in the playoffs in I don't know how long.
Starting point is 00:29:18 The Bengals, we didn't even make the playoffs this year. You see me up here throwing a fit about it? You see me coming in here like stats stressed out? Like the Steelers haven't done this? No. Because I took my emotions out of it. I can't control if a nigga didn't go to sleep till seven in the morning and the games at one o'clock in afternoon. I can't help if a nigga is on PDE and not telling nobody that they get suspended six games. We don't know what niggas doing in their personal time. So no, I'm not emotionally involved in nothing. Am I upset my team leaves?
Starting point is 00:29:53 Yes, to the point that I need to stab somebody? No, I caught myself years ago when I wanted to have a fight. It might've been over by 2K2, 2000, 2003, when niggas was trying to fight over the video game. I'm like, I'm about to have a fight over a video game. This is stupid. And that's when I was like,
Starting point is 00:30:13 I'm not doing this anymore with anybody. I'm stepping away from being emotional over video games, over basketball games, football games, anything else now. But I'd be like, shit, fuck. Yeah, but not to the point in the one that stabbed somebody from Novo T. Yeah. And even though we do joke up here a lot,
Starting point is 00:30:30 it should never come to that point. We do not condone violence up here because he literally stabbed the fans in the back, which is crazy. I didn't say that. Sometimes lessons not learned and blood aren't learned at all. The more you know.
Starting point is 00:30:47 I said, I don't condone it over that. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. I'm not advocating for it, but sometimes what is it when they be like, I'm not advocating, but I understand. Yeah, valid I understand. Yeah. Valid for you. For me, no.
Starting point is 00:31:09 But moving on to the Western Conference Finals, so we gotta get into our underdog picks. So tonight, Minnesota will play OKC. Underdog has Anthony Edwards at 27 and a half points. Do you have him high or lower mace? I'm going lower, of course. I think Anthony Edwards haven't figured it out yet. I think he's a phenomenal talent,
Starting point is 00:31:30 but I'm going lower, nothing personal. Are you sure? Oh, no, I was just letting you know how it's going. It's not personal for me. Okay. Yeah, I gotta agree with Mace. The reason why I'm agreeing with Mase, last game, Anthony Edwards, as we, you know, I see them get a lot of criticism saying, because what Anthony
Starting point is 00:31:52 Edwards saying is that it wasn't his fault. He didn't have a bad game. He made the right basketball play. And a lot of analysts were basically saying, nah, you it man, you gotta take the game over. You gotta do this. you gotta do that. Sometimes don't play within the system. Be selfish, play Harrowball, do what you gotta do, make your team win. And I get that, but this is a true stat. 100% of the time, last game,
Starting point is 00:32:18 there was 91% the first three games. Last game, game four, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards was double to triple team 100% of the time he had the ball. Not 92%, not 93%, not 94%. 100% of the time when he had the ball, he was double to triple team.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Now I'm usually one of them guys that be like, yeah, we gotta play hero ball, man. I gotta do what I gotta do. I don't care how many people on me, I'm getting the shots up. But if it's three niggas on you, that means it's two players open. And if they're not doing what they're supposed to do,
Starting point is 00:32:56 how much of the blame you want me to take? I'm gonna go lower as well, cause I think that system work for OKC and I don't see them shying away from it. Analysis and SGA is at 45 and a half points, rebounds and assists. You have a higher lower camp. 45. It's close because he's a walk at 32.
Starting point is 00:33:15 He gets 32 with the sleep. He averaged 32.7 for the league this year. He just knows how to get 30. The rebounds and the assists is the part that I'm skeptical on, so I'm going to get 30. The rebounds and assists is the part that I'm skeptical on so I'm going to go lower but I don't see him getting less than 30 points. What's the quote again? 45 and a half points rebounds and assists for SGA. 45? I'm going higher. Okay and Chet is at six and a half first quarter points rebounds and assists. Do you have them higher or lower Mase? Six and a half. Yeah, in the first quarter.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Higher. I think as a game, everybody's coming to win. Okay, Cam. We're higher as well. Okay. Make sure y'all download the Underdog app and you can make your picks too. So what boxes need to be checked to be the face of the league? We will discuss after Maybe I'm on She's out of here and I don't know
Starting point is 00:34:26 What's up, and then me won't fall Killing with this thing called trust But she really think it might be free Welcome back. So we're going to further discuss this face of the league conversation because we've talked about it a lot in a couple of episodes, but I want to kind of go through you guys' requirements. So Kendrick Perkins says, we know you got to have a signature shoe. You're going to be in commercials. You're going to have the highlights. You've got to have the game,
Starting point is 00:35:07 but you know what else you got to have. You got to be a role model and things outside the lines matter. Now, if you go down the list of all the faces of the league in the history of the game, you look at Larry Berg, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, LeBron stuff. What did they all have in common while they were playing in
Starting point is 00:35:22 the league? They were all family men. They were all married with kids. So first first do you agree with that statement yes or no Larry Bird was I don't think was Larry Bird married but I'm I know magic was I know Kobe was but Kobe has some discrepancies outside of the basketballs. We clearly know that. And, um, but what else he said as a criteria? Yeah, the commercial signature shoe highlights, got to have the game, be a married man. And they were all, he said they were all married with kids. I don't think that's necessary to be the face of the league.
Starting point is 00:36:01 You don't have to be married. Married is good, but you don't have to be married, but you definitely have that. I have to have a good image outside of basketball, like how you carry yourself or outside of the basketball lines. But you definitely have to have the highlights. I agree with that. You got to be the person. For me, one thing he left out is I think to be the face of the league. You got to win.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Magic Johnson was a winner. Larry Berg was a two, you know, a champion, a multiple champion. Um, who else? Michael Jordan, multiple championships, LeBron James, multiple championship. I think to start going in that direction of face of the league, you got at least when once, even when I remember there was a time when Dwayne Wade was starting to go in that direction and it was after the championship, you know. So I think the championships is where it starts for me.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Even when you talk about Jason Tatum, another face of the league, Yonis. These are people that was working towards the face of the league. Um, Yonis, these are people that was working towards the face of the league. Stephon Curry, all people that was working towards the face of the league. And Jason Tatum wasn't married, but he definitely was being pushed in that direction. Right. And John Moran wasn't, but you know, he needed that championship.
Starting point is 00:37:23 I think it's crazy that you would say, Kobe went through some discrepancies and not Magic Johnson. That's kind of wow. You think I'm biased? Why would you say Kobe and not Magic? Which one was worse? Yeah. What happened with magic? If you don't know, let's just figure out yourself. You don't know what happened with magic. Do what I don't know what exactly happened. HIV. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But I don't know how he got it. His wife didn't have it. That's true. So it was worse.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Colby, both of them was crazy to me. Go magic was a little worse magic. Yeah, I mean, you can get past the... You could die. Kobe, Kobe's like, he didn't know why he was gonna die behind what he did, unless somebody killed somebody. Well, that's interesting. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:38:38 That's why I asked you, you're the psychiatry master's degree. Yeah, I think both of them are really, really, really, really, really serious, really serious. I think the magic one was, you know, stay with him a little bit longer than the Kobe one. But I don't know. What you mean stay with, still with him?
Starting point is 00:39:00 I'm saying, I'm saying like- What you mean stay with him? Kobe was able to move past it. Magic still probably have to deal with it day to day. I don't know exactly how it works, but you know, he's more so have to deal with that every day. I listen, Murda. I think he does have to deal with it every day. I don't know how you don't deal with it.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Some people believe magic got cured. I don't know. Yeah, some people do. He said he did. He said he just take his medicine on oh, I mean I look he looks great Yeah, you know I'm saying for the situation shot the magic. That's my magic is had the best life I ever seen somebody have after
Starting point is 00:39:57 Being diagnosed with HIV That's what I was getting to you. You said he's stuck with it, but where's he stuck with it? He's killing them out there, no pun intended. Yeah. Shout out to the Brian Panthers and to the Johnson. That's what I'm saying. You said he can't get past it. I'm like, that nigga been to me more successful since he stopped playing basketball,
Starting point is 00:40:26 to be totally honest with you. Yeah, that was a real miracle. Even his wife had to stand with Magic Foundation. That's a woman. That's a wife. Yeah. You stare with your eyes? Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. I was wondering how this marry thing works. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Shhhhhh. Shhhhhh. But you staring, you wanna get married too? Y'all staring? Who's that? You staring? Um. You know. About you, Stat, you wanna get married too? Y'all staying? Stat, you staying? You know. I don't know. You don't know, Stat?
Starting point is 00:41:14 You undecided? Yes. I like that, Stat. Why? I like that for you. Why? Now I'm just like. So y'all staying? I like that for you. Why? Now I'm just like...
Starting point is 00:41:28 So y'all stand around... Since all the answer is... So y'all both stand around? What happened to a verbatim of work? Yeah, that's what I was about to ask you yesterday. You just gave me a whole lesson on it. Now, when it's the worst, worst, you out. Listen, I actually heard that statement that Kendrick Perkins made on my tie.
Starting point is 00:41:50 I actually heard that statement yesterday morning when Kendrick Perkins made it. And he made some great points. But I think Mase actually sealed the deal. Everybody that Kendrick Perkins named yesterday morning has a championship, if not multiple championships. He named Larry Bird three time champion, he named Magic Johnson five time champion,
Starting point is 00:42:09 pardon me, LeBron James four time, Steph Curry four time, Kobe Bryant five time, I don't know, pardon me, Kobe Bryant five times. These are all champions, yes they married all with children, but the championship is what made them
Starting point is 00:42:27 face of the league as well. So as much as we're trying to find a face of the league or the league is trying to find a face of the league, I think Mace is correct. You don't necessarily have to be married, but you do have to win. And I think that it's not enough winning. When we sit there and say,
Starting point is 00:42:44 Yonis could have been the face of the league He wins one in the next year. He doesn't win same thing with Jason Tatum He could have been a fake he could be the face of the league He wins one doesn't get the MVP doesn't get the Eastern Conference finals MVP doesn't get a lot of run in Olympics comes back and gets bumped in the second round. So he's not a multiple champion I think Mace hit the nail on the head pause when he says you have to win and not just win one time win Multiple times, but I believe that the league is scrambling so much to find a face of the league that this becomes a hot topic Weekend and week out
Starting point is 00:43:17 so a follow-up question I have is like as far as like the fan aspect of it as well because Obviously we see that the face of the league is not liked by just their fan base. It's typically like a range. Do you think that that kind of works if they're just kind of popular within that city or like it has to be across the board? I think it definitely has to be across the board because the face of the league have to be somebody that's respected all across the board. When you don't check all the boxes, you're going to find yourself running into scrutiny
Starting point is 00:43:52 like we just did with people talking about Halliburton, right? When they were saying things such as he's majorly overrated. Now when he gets a championship, it starts to check out those other boxes He's married probably, you know, is he married? No, no, not yet Well, I'd rather be with like four or five bitches at a time all white But he has that says that's like the girls family members and stuff Like he does have a long-term girlfriend my baffled got a stat. No long-term girlfriend. My balfour got a stat, no.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Like he's a long-term girlfriend. Does Shay, Shay has a wife, right? Yes, they're married. Okay, so yeah, the face of the league will be somebody like that. I just don't think, my personal opinion could have meant a few people, but they don't want it to be non-Americans.
Starting point is 00:44:40 But I think if Shay wins this year, who else are you really gonna put? Three-time first team or NBA, league MVP and now with a championship. Clean cut, you don't really hear too much about him off the court. If Shea wins this year and they don't want to make him the face of the league, it's just plain and obvious they don't want a foreigner to be the face of the league. Yeah, they might not have another choice if he wins it because everybody that they want to be the face of the league
Starting point is 00:45:10 can't do anything with him. Yeah, I totally agree. Let's think about this. We were talking about how Ant-Man beat KD last year, then LeBron this year and Luca this year. And I don't really count Steph Curry because when Steph Curry got hurt, they was up one zero against Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:45:30 But let's just say Steph Curry and Draymond Green for the sake of the argument. Okay, you beat all the older players. A nigga who's in their prime, like you're in your prime, a couple years older, is giving you the legit business right now. So you could say that you beat all the legends, but it's a legend right on the other side of the ball
Starting point is 00:45:48 for me. And it seems like at this point right now, he'd be a more legendary than everybody that we talked about because two, three years ago, we was like John Morant gonna be him. Then when John Morant went out with his situation off the court situations and injuries, we said, nah, Ant-Man, this is his turn.
Starting point is 00:46:06 This whole time we've been talking about both of those guys possibly being the face of the league with Tatum and others. Shea been there the whole time. And Shea been first team or NBA all them years that we've been talking about Jomarant or Ant-Man or others and Tatum or whoever else, you know, Tatum is first team all NBA as well. But Shea's been there this whole conversation.
Starting point is 00:46:30 OKC's in the small market, his name's not easy to pronounce. It's a bunch of different variables to go with it. I was listening to a CNBC interview maybe about two, three years ago, and they were saying that Yanis doesn't have a lot of ads in America because of his last name, the pronunciation of how people get it wrong.
Starting point is 00:46:49 And I guess people take that into consideration when you're a big corporation deal with businesses and spending millions of dollars on advertising, advertisement, all that counts. But I don't see why Shay can't be the face. Clean cut, wife, kids. I don't really why shake him be the face clean cut wife kids I don't really think wife kids had nothing to do with as long as there's no off-the-court bullshit going on and MVP led the league in scoring and would be an NBA championship champion. What's the problem?
Starting point is 00:47:19 Okay now switching gears to WNBA real quick So a lawsuit followed by Jean trailer the Phoenix Sun's former director of safety, security and risk management is accusing Sun CEO Josh Bartelstein of allegedly having an improper sexual the CEO. Obviously a real tricky situation, but Mase, how do you think the league for the WNBA should handle situations like this? You got one person saying this, you got the player who's still actively playing, saying something completely else. When you say you got one person saying this,
Starting point is 00:47:59 what are they saying? Yeah, so like he was basically saying that the player, Sophie Cunningham, was having sex with the CEO But now she's no longer on that team. She plays with a fever. So she's still actively playing in the WNBA She's accused of this with her former team and who's saying this? Jean trailer the Phoenix Suns former director of safety security and risk management. Oh Hi, how does he know this? Was he like standing on the side?
Starting point is 00:48:29 Like, bro, how do you know? How do you know if they were ultimately together? That's crazy. Yeah, I don't know. People, I don't know. Is it like a silver suit or? It's a whole lawsuit regarding different things, but that's the misconduct that he says that he saw
Starting point is 00:48:53 and she denies it. So yeah, basically I'm asking you how should the WNBA handle a situation like that? Yeah, this is why they have rules in place, like no fraternizing, different things like that because when it comes down to it, it's going to cost the whole corporation. You know, it's going to cause the insurance is going to cost the players is going to cause the just different people.
Starting point is 00:49:18 They're all going to like suffer in a different way, you know, I think is is very is very is very telling because within an organization, most times when you're dealing with sports, there are people sleeping with each other, even though they know it shouldn't be happening. But it's hard to prove something if a woman is going to stand on our ground and just say it didn't happen unless you got some real valuable information. Now, once you got valuable information, that changes everything, but I hope he's not hating on the guy that was doing this,
Starting point is 00:49:53 because sometimes people will be mad that it wasn't them, mad they didn't get the opportunity, but stuff like this is crazy. I ain't paying no shit to no mind. Cause first thing that you says that is former security form, whatever he is, is a former. So that means he's not working anymore. We sound like he needs some money.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Secondly, if the CEO ain't saying nothing and the bitch that he taught, that he said, that he was fucking pardon me, I don't disrespect the shorty for the fever. If she said that didn't happen, and the CEO of, where was it, Minnesota? The Suns. The Suns?
Starting point is 00:50:32 Yeah. What's his name this afternoon? Josh Bruttelstein. Josh, and what's the girl's name? Sophie Cunningham. If Sophie, the player for the fever, said that happened, and Josh, the CEO for the Suns,
Starting point is 00:50:43 said that happened. He didn't say anything. Well, happened. He didn't say anything. Well, whatever, he didn't say anything. That's like, I don't know how to speak on it. Why would we care what the former head of security has to say about anything? It isn't like, this ain't like Diddy Trowell niggas is sticking up for this girl.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Like she's like, oh, I had sex with him, da da da da. This sound like a nigga who tried to get some money on the low and bribe shit and nigg she's like, oh, I had sex with him, da, da, da, da. This sound like a nigga who tried to get some money on the low and bribe shit and niggas is like, get out of here. And he's like, all right, I'm gonna put it in the atmosphere. And niggas is like, the owner's not even paying him no mind. Shorty from the Fever said, I don't know what you talking about.
Starting point is 00:51:18 And this gonna fade out. I mean, when you say the WNBA handle it, I get what you saying, but to me, it ain't nothing to handle. If the girl is not crying that she was violated When you say the WNBA handled it, I get what you're saying, but to me it ain't nothing to handle. If the girl is not crying that she was violated or did anything wrong and the CEO ain't saying nothing, what does this middle man have to do with anything?
Starting point is 00:51:35 I'll add my two cents that I think. So I think the main thing about it is like, obviously when things like this happen, there's gonna be the jokes, there's gonna to be the harassment, you know, people are going to speak regardless. I'm not saying that anything needs to directly happen. I just think that. Like, no, like, like usually, like with the NBA, something happens. It's like, OK, like we've heard of this, like, well, look, it's kind of like protection
Starting point is 00:52:01 for the players until they figure it out. I just feel like there's no like. Any sort of protection for the person who's currently still playing while they figure out the situation, because it's like, meanwhile, you know, fans say things, Internet says things. So I just think that that's kind of where that nothing was said from that part. That's my only thing. What is your confusion?
Starting point is 00:52:24 That's my only thing, because I your confusion? That's my only thing. Cause I'm like, if it was any other league, they would typically say like, you know, it's being handled, whatever. Like I just feel like them not saying anything. I don't know what somebody's supposed to say if the girl say is not true and the CEO ain't saying that. And then the nigga who's saying something
Starting point is 00:52:41 not even in the league no more, who cares? I get what you're saying, that it needs to be some type of shit, but for what? What is the point? If the two people that's in the league still, one is denying it, one is like, I'm not saying nothing. Then the person making accusations not even in the league. That's like saying to me, if somebody who's not in the league
Starting point is 00:53:04 be like yo James Dolan is Bonin so-and-so wife and the wife did not bone in Charles Oakley wife does just use an old player And Charles Oakley wife says not true and James Dolan not saying that and then a nigga who says son is sells newspapers Why do we care what the nigga selling newspapers say? Yeah, which I totally agree. Like I, cause it's just like, dang, where did this come from? But yeah, it just, in this defense, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:53:35 and I know it's like, oh, it's just annoying, but I know that's just annoying for her to still be playing. And then that whole thing happening when it's like, they're saying it's not true. I just feel like there needs to be some sort of something. She's gonna end up getting paid if they don't cut that out. Cause they gonna have to pay her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Who is they? I mean, I would say the person who made the allegation. It sounds like he popped. That's the reason he's doing this. You just don't. Yeah, he probably creating problems for other people. You don't be in a league, get fired. I don't know if he got fired, quit, whatever, but the way you stated his position was former.
Starting point is 00:54:13 So I mean, he's not in the league. If you, look, you gotta think about this. When you start letting shit like this out, you're not getting a job no more. Because niggas ain't gonna be able to trust you. Like, oh, this nigga's running his mouth about shit. They go on the inside. We're not trusting him. So be able to trust you. Like, oh, this nigga's running his mouth about shit that go on the inside. We're not trusting him.
Starting point is 00:54:26 So for him to even make these statements, my personal opinion, he's on his last leg. Pause. Like, I need an income. That's what it sound like to me because if you get hired by another team, they're not gonna trust you to keep shit in the house. So I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:54:42 I just don't think it's much to do. And how you gonna get paid from a nigga who ain't got it? That is also true. But hey, we're learning more things every day. Hopefully they figure it out, especially with her situation, her still playing. The league got a lot going on, not even just with this, but also with Caitlin Clark being out due to injury. So this is what I'm saying with that.
Starting point is 00:55:02 We have to work it out out especially with her still playing. Is the nigga still CEOing? Why we can't figure it out for him? He's still CEOing. All I know we gotta be about her because she's still playing. He's still CEOing. Let's figure it out for him too.
Starting point is 00:55:17 What if they lying on him? He's in the league right? Let's not. Well he's the CEO, yeah but it does like, I do feel like if they accuse him of doing, like, it's not looked at as a certain way as far as it would be looked at on the other side. So I think because, especially because he didn't say anything, it looks like he's not bothered,
Starting point is 00:55:40 so he's got it. But of course, we don't want that to happen to him either. So I'm hoping they figure it out. You're going to protect the sisters at all costs. I'm saying, cause he's, I'm just saying he's fine regardless. Like he's the CEO. Like he's, he's going to be good. No, cause I just, you could, that's, it's like a repeat of history. CEOs, actually the CEO for the Phoenix Suns, president, whatever, the owner, matter of fact, he had to sell the team for saying racist shit.
Starting point is 00:56:14 We see what happened to Donald Sterling, so it's not going to be alright if foul shit happen. We see what happened to E-mate, even though he's not the owner, he got fired. It's not always going to be okay for the nigga. Just because he's a nigga, you think it's gonna be okay? Well no, I'm not saying it's always gonna be okay, I'm saying in this specific situation, I think he's gonna be fine. Okay. That's what I'm saying. Why wouldn't she be fine in this situation?
Starting point is 00:56:35 Because the way that things have been going, especially just specifically with this organization, it's just been a lot of, I've just been seeing it, and I'm like, okay, this is a lot different as opposed to if it was somebody on a different team. I'm just saying the Fever specifically because they've already had heat, the whole Caitlin Clark, like all that stuff in general.
Starting point is 00:56:53 I think if it was another team, it wouldn't have been in this situation. That is my answer. Yes, that's what the sisters against the brothers at all cost. She's just spinning right, she's definitely spinning. I think it's a different situation. What do you see?
Starting point is 00:57:06 What's going on with the fever that is so bad? I just feel like in the WNBA, specifically, if something happens to the fever in general or any player, they get the most heat. That's all I'm saying. Since when though, Stat? Compared to other teams. Since Caitlin Clark has been on the team.
Starting point is 00:57:24 And that's not her fault either. You hating on Kaitlyn, Stet. That's not hating. They're literally the, like right now, like they would be considered the most popular WNBA team. So anything that has to do with their team, they get the most heat, whether they're doing well, whether they're doing bad, people are gonna have something
Starting point is 00:57:40 to say about the people on the fever, that's all. And that just comes with being popular. The people are gonna talk about you when you pop it. I don people on the fever. That's all. I don't understand. And that just comes with being popular. The people are gonna talk about you when you pop it. I don't know the heat. I'm just trying to catch up on the heat. What's the heat that happened to the fever? I'm just saying in general, like even like the hate that Aaliyah Boston has gotten.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Like it's just been specific things that I just feel like have been thrown way out of proportion specifically for the fever. That's all I'm saying. I can't believe this. That's it. But let us know what you guys think in the comments down below. But that is all the time that we have for today.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Thank y'all for watching. And as always, it is what it is. Thanks for watching!
