Murda, what's good, man?
How you doing? You all right?
Yeah, getting over the weather a little bit.
Good man.
Yeah.
Okay. Okay. That's what's up.
Yeah. Well, glad to see you and glad to know
that you're feeling a little bit better
because it definitely be like that sometimes.
Today we are joined with a special guest.
He's a six time pro bowler and first
and five time first team all pro selection.
He is third all time in receiving yards
and receiving touchdowns and was inducted
into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
He is regarded as one of the best ride receivers
of all time.
He is also an avid pickleball player introducing T.O.
T.O. baby, what's good man?
What's happening?
T.O. was good.
What's happening?
Thanks for coming and joining the show, man.
Thanks for showing up, Mase.
Glad to have you.
T.O., last time I saw you, you fouled me crazy.
Oh my gosh.
Here we go with this.
Same energy.
I'm so happy that everybody's in the same room.
Good, let's share with our audience.
I remember something.
This was a couple seasons ago on the show
and Mase said that T.O. might have broke his...
Knocked my teeth out.
Yeah, and then when I see T.O. in Colorado...
He didn't know that, he didn't know it though.
Oh, when I see T.O. in Colorado,
he was like, tell Mase to stop fucking lying.
So now everybody's in the same room.
Mase, what happened when you was playing basketball
with T.O.?
What happened? He probably don't remember when he was playing basketball with T.O.? What?
He probably don't remember when he was playing at crunch.
You remember playing at crunch?
In Buckhead?
Yeah, when they had crunch, that's a long ago.
But I remember it because I almost lost a tooth for that.
Which metal was it?
That usually happens.
T.O., he was a wild boy back there.
He was jumping up, getting rebounds all the while.
He did something like that and I was just, I was almost knocked out.
That's where the block is.
That usually happen when you have non-basketball players
and non-artists on the court.
That's usually what happens.
You're in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Okay, okay.
You still, bud?
Yeah, it was one of those, you know how,
you know how that nigga tried to clear a rebound.
Okay.
He thought he was in the NBA. You had some Charles Oakley what he found. Okay. He thought he was in the NBA.
You got some Charles Oakley shit with you?
Yeah, he thought he was in the NBA.
Okay, you just took my word.
I thought I was in the NBA.
What did he think he was doing?
That's the question.
I don't know what year this was.
Mace used to be alright, I don't know if this was...
That was 99.
Yeah, it was like 99, 2000 in Atlanta.
Okay, okay.
It was still in the glory.
Okay, I'm just asking, I didn't know.
But I know you've been persistently talking
about this foul that T.O. has.
Right, that I have no recollection of.
Yeah, cause when I brought it up, Tim,
you know, we see each other a few times a year in Colorado
and you should have seen T.O.'s face like fuck out of here.
You know what T.O. been talking about.
What is this? We both cooking, you know?
I don't know about you, bro.
You don't remember you cooking.
He said he don't even remember you cooking.
You mean you were cooking before you got to the,
like, on the stove cooking?
Hey, hey, hey.
You don't remember you cooking.
Let me tell you something, T.A.
The way PTSD works is you lose memory on stuff
you don't want to remember, you know? I guess that's what it is. The way PTSD works is you lose memory on stuff
you don't wanna remember.
You know what I mean?
I guess that's what it is.
That niggas don't remember, it's crazy, you know?
So we're gonna get into-
Real quick before we start again,
cause I know we have some times to get to.
We have Michael Irvin on our show every week.
How much better are you than Michael Irvin?
Like we know you're like,
is it a big difference between you and Michael Irvin?
I mean, statistically, yes.
We know statistically.
Yeah, does he have more Super Bowl rings than me?
Yeah, I mean, that's a given.
But he has a total of like 65 touchdowns.
I probably eclipsed that.
I don't know what year I did, but I mean,
tremendous, tremendous athlete.
He was part of a great Donnie's team.
You got like a three headed monster with him,
Emmett, Troy.
Obviously that defense was like stellar.
You got all those guys on the defense side of the ball.
I mean, they had a great team.
I didn't ask you that to you. How much better are you than Mike? I mean, I'm- great team. I didn't ask you that to you.
How much better are you than Michael?
I mean, is this a dumb question?
No, it's not a dumb question.
Like I'm-
Like you enjoyed Michael Porter, like-
Yeah, it's a gap in there.
Like again, he played with a lot of passion, so did I.
I mean, again, if you look at, just roll the tape.
When he comes-
Well, I'm saying that, see, this the thing,
and I like the answer you give him,
because you know he played for the Cowboys,
and it's politically correct answer.
Like, no...
No, I ain't gonna give you no PC answer.
Listen to me real quick, because what I'm saying is,
like, the gap between me and Mase Basketball,
when we grow up, it's crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For...
You know, I'm not gonna be politically correct.
The gap is crazy, Paul. So that's why I was trying to see.
I let him be better, so we can win.
You see me right now, Pete?
I'm wearing glasses, I'm letting him win.
Listen, no, I'm serious.
That's how we win together, if I shine too much.
No, listen.
Then we won't win together.
Mace was better than a lot of niggas.
This is what happened for my opinion with Mace.
My opinion.
Mace gonna say he's bad at me, this is my brother.
My opinion is this, Mace, to time he was 13, 14,
probably was like top, better than me too,
top five in the city.
He went back to Jacksonville, I don't know what happened.
Once he left Harlem, it's time when he left Harlem, something happened.
It was Mace, Marquis, Nate, Odie, the young life.
Pop left here, Pop got blessed to death,
and he left the city, and I don't know what happened then.
He might have been playing another sport,
but I just want to know,
because I'm going to play this back for Mike.
Well, the thing is, I'm never going to try to, like,
undermine somebody's skill set, but I'll put it like this.
If somebody asks you like, who's the top three
or five receivers in the league, is he mentioned?
Of all time, you say?
Yeah, is he mentioned?
Somebody's like, what's the top five receivers of all time?
Is he mentioned in that conversation?
You tell us the top five, since we got you here.
I don't go top five, I go top three.
Top three, who's your top three?
Jerry, myself, and Randy.
Then after that, again, you're gonna have
like your Calvin Johnsons or your Larry Fitzgerald.
Yeah, did Michael Irvin have a great career?
Absolutely, won Super Bowl rings, of course.
Two different, like we played a little physical style
of a receiver, but again, I was faster than him.
I did a lot more great things like taking short passes,
going the distance.
I did a lot of great things as it relates to like,
what you can do with the receiver position.
Like I said, obviously going like 96 was when I got,
when I got into the draft,
that was the era of like the big tall, you know,
prototypical physical attributes of receivers.
But obviously like it stretched the defense. You think of the Randys, myself, Jerry's, like
Herman Moore's, Micah Irvin's, those guys were Chris Carter's. Those are the guys that were
kind of like in the league around that time that were like big tall rangey type of receivers.
And then like I said,, rangy type of receivers.
And then like I said, you had the emergence of myself
and Randy and then Calvin Johnson's that really kind of just
trendset it like a whole different mode of receiver.
Gotcha.
Yo Mike, he said you can't fuck when I'm more on the score.
You don't even think it.
Shit, but when I see very good, like he's,
you know the thing about, I'm looking at Mike now,
thing about it is you can tell T.O.'s very well,
media train these days.
He said, you can't fuck with him.
To me, he's like, here, I think it was a stupid question,
even asking that dumb shit.
And it's a difference, Mike.
And we're gonna see what you have to say about it
later this week.
All I can say, it is what it is.
Pun intended, nigga. it is what it is. Pun intended, nigga.
It is what it is.
That's what's up.
My bad, I had to get that out there.
No, all good, all good.
So before we actually get into some football topics,
because a lot happened this week,
I want to ask you about the paddle
that you have in your hand.
Pickleball paddle, right?
And for those who don't know,
how did you get kind of started into this
and what kind of got you with it?
A fellow football league mate, Marcellus Wiley.
He has a lot, you know, charity event
and he has events over at his house, really politicking.
And he has, and he's like, he kept texting me,
he's like, you know, come over and play some pickleball.
And I've heard about the game probably within the last five,
six years or whatever, but obviously this is a game
that obviously has been around for a long time.
And finally I went over there to play
and I told Marcelo, I'm gonna look,
I don't even know how to play.
And he's, I'll just come over and just learn
and whatever, so I went to Target.
I don't even mention Target, but anyway.
Went to a store, picked up some paddles.
You know, I didn't know, I saw some paddles in there
for like $200, 150, and I just got like average paddle about like 70, 80 bucks.
So I'm playing with that.
And so I got some real professional players over there
experience.
And so they're looking at me and I'm like,
what kind of paddle do you have?
It's a ping pong paddle.
But clearly there's some equipment, you know,
specific equipment that's needed to play the game
at a high level.
So that was kind of like my experience.
And it was last kind of last summer, played it a couple of times.
And then I didn't play for like about a month and a half.
And then I played in Dirk's event in Dallas.
Then I got invited to another event
literally the week after in Puerto Rico.
And then it kind of like, I just kind of got the bug
and just started playing.
And I've kind of a, you know, pickleball addict at this point.
But I'm looking forward to like getting really into it.
I want to try to become pro at it at a pro level.
But again, this is a game of like, you know,
like I said, athleticism, it helps,
but it's a game of like skill and artistry.
That's what's up, bro.
Nice, and then just last question regarding it.
So I know you guys have an event coming up.
Can you talk a little bit about that?
And then for people who want to get involved
or get in shape because some of us need to do that.
You don't necessarily need to be in shape
to play pickleball.
But again, yes, I partner with a group of people
in San Francisco, Ben Shapiro's a partner.
And again, we have this company
that's gonna be putting on our first event,
NBA All-Star Weekend. It's gonna be, you know, company that's gonna be putting on our first event, NBA Art Store weekend.
It's gonna be, the game is gonna be played on actual theater stage,
Warfield Theater.
We got a lot of celebrities coming in to participate.
And I think the gist behind this partnership is really just trying to
get more people involved, bring some more eyeballs to it.
And then I think when you look at,
or you think about pickleball,
nobody really knows any top pickleball players.
Obviously Ben Johns, he's like one of the top pickleball,
the top pickleball player of all time.
And he has obviously a lot of equipment.
So the only reason I know him,
because I went into the store
and I saw his names on the paddle.
But you got guys like Tyson McGuffin, Ryan Sherry,
just a lot of professional guys
that a lot of people don't know about.
And so this is an opportunity obviously
for people to get involved.
And obviously for me, like to be involved,
to get more African-Americans involved into this sport.
You know, it's a lot of fun.
You don't need, like I said,
it doesn't discriminate as far as age or shape or size.
Again, I've been humbled.
This is a very unassuming sport,
even though with a little wiffle ball and a paddle,
it's a very humbling sport.
So again, the event is gonna be All-Star weekend,
February 15th through the 16th.
If you wanna find out more information about it,
go to celebritypickleballbash.com.
Cool.
That's what's up, man.
Man, you play pickleball ever?
No.
I was just talking about I never played yet, neither.
Yeah.
Is it the same as whiffleball?
Like tennis.
Yeah, in a sense.
It's kind of like if, I guess,
kind of like if I guess if tennis and ping pong had a baby,
you know what I mean?
You got pickleball you'd be nice?
Pick a ball.
Anything you got to do with winning.
I knew it, I was there, so I knew it.
I knew it, I knew that's the answer I was looking for.
I wouldn't expect anything less.
I would have been mad actually if you said anything else.
You could win at it, I could do it.
It's a little less physical too, Mason, you know what I mean?
It's a little less physical too, Mason. You know what I mean? It's a little less physical too.
A lot of high, drop, a little less physical.
Your hand-eye coordination has really come into play.
You know what I mean?
A little agility, a little lateral movement.
So, you know.
Yeah.
Nice, might have to try it out.
No, it's actually, it's a fun game.
Like I said, I've enjoyed it thus far.
Again, I've only been playing probably like a total
of maybe three, four months.
But every time I step on the floor on the court,
I try to get better.
I have improved being my partner.
He saw me some months ago and now we went,
we played earlier at Chicken and Pickle.
And so again, he's obviously seen some improvement
in my game and even one of the guys, Ryan Sherry,
who's like one of the pro players,
he saw me had a bit over the weekend in LA
for the fire victims.
So we did a pickleball event to help with raising money
for the victims and families that lost their homes
and the first responders in LA.
And so Ryan Sherry, he saw some video footage
and he literally texted me a long text.
He's like, man, you've gotten so much better.
He's like, you know, keep using your length,
blah, blah, blah, playing at the kitchen,
all those things.
These are like terms of pickleball terms,
Mase, just in case you're wondering.
Kitchen doesn't mean anything food wise either.
No, no, no.
I like that, I like that, Tio. Tio came to cook, man. You know what, actually, no. No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no. She okayed the cook, man.
I like that, I like that, Teo.
Teo came to cook, man.
You know what, actually, Teo,
since we're having a great conversation,
it's kinda interesting to hear you use words
like humbling and all of that, you know?
Why is that?
It does, you know, you're the poster child for arrogance,
you know?
Well, why would you think it's arrogant?
I mean, some people misconstrue arrogance and confidence.
You know, I think there's a fine line between that.
I don't care about myself as an arrogant person.
I don't look down on people.
That would be arrogance.
I mean, for me to perform at a high level,
everybody has, you know, their mindset
and their approach to the game.
It may be arrogant to some,
but for me, I've always cared about myself
in a sense,
in a way of how my grandmother raised me
and never been thought to be, you know,
from my point of view, to be arrogant.
But I'm a strong-willed person, strong-minded person,
and some people don't like that, you know what I mean?
Like people that are unapologetic themselves,
and they can misconstrue that as, you know,
their confidence as being arrogant.
But I appreciate, you know, the question,
but never arrogant.
I'm just, I'm super, super confident
and have a lot of belief in my ability.
I like that, I like that answer,
but you're up here with an expert.
I want you to know that.
Who is that, you?
Yes.
Oh, I didn't know, I thought you meant somebody's friend.
I thought you meant somebody's friend.
I mean, you have glasses on, what I mean?
That don't mean you're an expert.
You may look smart, but you say big words.
I don't think you're an expert.
You say, yeah, because you okay with the cook and stuff.
I know, but he's already set up, he doesn't know it.
He doesn't know it.
He's not up there on ESPN.
I hope he knows that.
Let me ask you a question, Tio, before we get cooking.
Oh, shit, let's do it.
Let's do it.
There's one question.
Where do you get your confidence from?
I think it was built.
I think a lot of it, growing up,
not having a lot of self-esteem in myself
and I think being obviously bullied, picked on,
I did some necessary things to kind of build that up.
Sometimes like when I played at the highest level,
again, when I came out of high school,
I wasn't a four or five star athlete
coming out of high school
and then I wasn't one of your top picks
or top athletes in college.
But I realized what I wasn't really good at,
I tried to work on the things to allow myself to be,
or enable myself to become a better athlete.
So that's me and just doing the necessary things
that I saw in other athletes.
I'm like, man, I wanna be like that.
But I didn't have the skillset.
My body hadn't matured yet.
So the confidence came, the more and more that I got,
I started to see success on the football field.
And I had coaches that really poured into me
and they saw something in myself
that I didn't really see in myself.
So not only, like I said, it was,
I wasn't self-aware enough to know that I had the skillset
to really play at that level,
but I evolved year in and year out.
Every off season, I tried to build on something
that I was deficient in with my skill set.
So it just kind of just gradually grew and grew and grew.
And then once I saw that I could compete
at the highest level, obviously going, obviously going against like, you know
Playing with Jerry Rice and playing again in the National Football League with some of the top
athletes of all time and then starting to see that success and then having them like said play with the best receiver the
greatest receiver of all time in Jerry Rice playing one the the greatest
quarterbacks and Steve Young and playing with a lot of like Hall of Famers
and all-star guys like your Merton Hanks,
your Tim McDonalds on defense, your Lee Woodhaw,
seeing that playing those teams that like,
across the league, seeing the success
like on a every Sunday basis.
Once I started to see that, my confidence just grew and grew
and it got to the point where like, I just felt like I was unstoppable. on an every Sunday basis. Once I started to see that, my confidence just grew and grew
and it got to the point where I just felt like
I was unstoppable.
You know how it is, you get in that zone.
It's like kind of mastering your craft.
You're not good right away.
Some people peak in high school, some peak in college.
But for me, it was a gradual process.
I thought I wanted to be good in high school, but I wasn't.
That was the evaluation of my coach.
He saw that I wasn't ready yet.
Got to college, played a little bit, sparingly.
Again, I didn't think I was gonna play
beyond the collegiate level.
Walked on, played college basketball
when the season was over.
Still didn't know that I had the opportunity,
the skill set to really play
at the National Football League.
But again, got an opportunity, got drafted.
And again, things just kind of unfolded.
And once I kind of saw that I could be good at this
or good at that, and just kind of just worked on it.
Okay, so we were gonna start with the Jets,
but now I kind of wanna go to the wide receiver topics.
I wanna pick your brains and see
what you guys have to say as well.
So let's actually start with the Chiefs.
So with their success, a lot of people have been looking at Tyreek Hills.
So since leaving the Chiefs, they're on they're going to their third straight
Super Bowl, as we know.
So if you guys remember, the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins
for five draft picks, and the Dolphins gave Tyreek a four year
120 million dollar extension, including $72.2 million guaranteed.
So, looking back at that trade,
what do you think of the decision made?
And then given that you were a receiver yourself,
what do you think is the mindset Tyreek Hill has
seeing the Chief's success
and then where he's at right now with the Dolphins?
I mean, he chose what was best for him.
Um, it's either stay in a situation
where you take less money and you wanna win championships
and you try to ride it out for the longevity of it,
or, you know, football into football,
money is not always guaranteed.
So with him, I don't fault him, you know,
any way, shape, form, or fashion.
He went after the bag, he got that bag,
and that's what it's all about.
Again, it's not the same as NBA or Major League Baseball
where their money, whatever it is, is guaranteed.
Again, anything can happen, injuries,
whatever, ownership can have a change of heart.
Guys come in, they move pieces and people around yearly.
So again, he went with the opportunity
to make the most money that he could
from a signing bonus standpoint.
So again, what was the big number that he had?
I think it was like 72 million.
Yeah, 72.2 million dollars guaranteed.
But the total is-
120 million.
Right, but again, like I said,
if they say he gets hurt, he doesn't get that 100,
you know what I mean?
But what solidifies him and makes him secure is that sign of bonus.
Got it. Okay, and then Mase,
what do you think about Tyreek Hill's position,
given that he's at the Dolphins,
but then seeing your team, Title Town,
all this winning that they have going on,
what do you think about it?
I think when he's looking back, he's trying to figure out,
I know the money is great,
but I think when it's all said and done,
people want to win, and they they wanna win on the highest level.
Sometimes if you can't win, you get the money.
If you wanna get the money, but you definitely wanna win,
that's what I would say.
Okay, Cam, your thoughts?
I don't think this Tyreek shit would be a big deal
if he wasn't complaining after the Miami Heat.
I mean, part of Miami Dolphins got bumped,
so now it's looking like, he's like,
I'm not used to this.
I'm not used to losing.
I don't know, I'm not used to.
If he would've just shut up and went home,
no disrespect to Tyreek and went home,
it wouldn't be no big deal.
But now he's complaining about not winning
when you went and took the money.
When you went and took the money,
everybody kinda understood it.
Same thing that we was talking about the other,
not yesterday, last week, with Eric Banihme.
He looked like a genius when he was there.
Then you lose, Andy Reid, and Packing My Home
still doing their thing instead of being part of Sun Great.
You're left and did your own thing,
now it look like they didn't need you.
Now you back in college coaching.
So with Tyreek Hill, my personal opinion is,
if he didn't do that closeout interview
talking about when they asked him,
yo, do you wanna stay?
He like, I don't know, whatever his answer was.
Then when he puts up his Twitter, Instagram feed,
he has his face on Antonio Brown's body
the day he's leaving out of Tampa Bay.
It's not a good look.
Yeah, exactly.
So my thing is this, he won a championship
and he wanted to get his money
because he already won a championship.
So he's like, I got the championship,
let me go get the money.
He didn't know that this shit was gonna keep going on
with the Chiefs, so it looks bad.
Well, and I think part of it too,
like I get where he was coming from,
like I said, understanding it, like I said,
you're throwing with Tua and you're throwing around with him in practice,
off season, whatever.
Tua looks like he could be Patrick Mahomes.
I knew it, but once that game starts,
it ain't just throwing around on air.
You got people playing football like hitting.
So obviously, Tua has had a history of concussions,
got injured, so that's factored into really his success
and probably, you know, it puts a gray area
with the future of Tua as well.
Because if he's not healthy, that team is not that good.
And as a receiver, you're only as good as your quarterback.
And I like said, when I saw Tua in college,
I worked out with Tua when he was a freshman
and I walked away from that workout.
And I'm like, man, this is as a true freshman.
I'm like, yo, this dude is better than some of the guys
in the league that I had been playing with.
But again, like I said, health plays a big key
in the success of an individual.
And obviously at the quarterback position, you got a whole organization relying on what he does with
his ability, obviously to throw the ball and obviously get out of the pocket. He's a shell
of himself right now. So Tyreek, again, Tua, it's going to be like this next year. Trust me, Tua,
I love Tua, but he's not gonna make it through, no,
see, he's not gonna play 16, 17 games no more.
It's just not gonna happen
because he's a shell of himself.
He's had too many concussions.
Anytime that he hits that ground or somebody hits him,
he's gonna be out, guaranteed.
And that's why Tyreek was frustrated
because he didn't have the success
that he had the year before.
I mean, he was flirting on 2000
and that was because Tua was throwing that thing
left and right and he wasn't getting hurt.
He wasn't getting tagged.
But now he's getting tagged, he's getting hit.
It's not the same.
His decision making is off everything.
He's throwing the ball quicker than he needs to
because he feels the pressure because Tua knows
he's another hit away from probably being out of the league.
Yeah.
Yeah, like I was saying, you chose the money nigga,
and I ain't mad at you.
Yeah, can't be mad at that.
Hey, Matthew, you can look at the situation, right?
You got James Hall, let's just use James Hall
as a situation.
He could have stayed in Houston for 103 million for two years.
He probably made a shitload of money
and then he started chasing championships.
Went to Brooklyn, KD and Kyle Reed,
that didn't work out.
Went to Philly, that didn't work out.
Now he's back in LA where he's originally from,
but he turned down money to get a ring
and that didn't work out.
Now, would you have want the ring?
I think that's the balance.
Once you get your ring, you want the money.
Let's think about Bruce Brown from Denver.
He was part of that Nuggets.
He's part of that championship team.
I don't know where the fuck Bruce Brown is at right now.
I don't know what team he's on or anything.
You get what I'm saying?
And I know Sin is gonna say,
Sin is all, this is his favorite shit.
Niggas always leaving. I said Sin, because niggas wanna get paid this is his favorite shit. Niggas always leaving.
I said Sin, cause niggas wanna get paid.
You gotta understand that.
Niggas wanna get paid.
Let me ask you this question, TL, before we move on.
What would you have done in this situation?
You won a ring with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Miami's offering you more money.
You have a ring already.
What would you have done if you was Tyree Kelly
in this situation?
I mean, I don't fault Tyreek and I totally understand.
I think the decision would be totally different
had he not won a ring in Kansas City.
Maybe he stay there, get more money.
But the fact that he already won a championship,
as a football player, that's all you want.
You wanna win a championship,
or if you're fortunate enough to win two, three,
that's icing on the cake, but you've already won one.
You're a Super Bowl champion for life.
Nobody can take that away from you.
Now at this point, you setting yourself up for future,
you setting your family up for your livelihood
that you're gonna be living.
So obviously, like I said, he goes get the bag.
For me, again, I play for Andy Reid.
Again, like I said, I would probably like,
if I was in his shoes,
I probably would have done the same thing.
Would Miami would have been my first choice?
I would have gone somewhere where I knew I felt like,
okay, I can contribute and I got a quarterback
that I know for the long haul that I can win games with.
You got to factor in all those things.
Like again, like I said, tool on paper, looks great.
Routes on air, that's fine.
But when it comes to like playing the game,
you got to do your homework.
Like, okay, this guy's been injured or whatever.
You go find a team where you know you can benefit
and you got a quarterback that obviously can get you the ball
and you can be a big factor in them winning championships.
So again, I get it, trust me,
I know what he was going through.
I've seen two, like the dude, if he was healthy,
bro, he'd be one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
But you would have left to get the money.
I would have got my money.
I would have went for the bag too,
especially if I've gotten a championship.
Why wouldn't I?
I mean, cause that's what it's about.
You've won a champion.
You're known as a Super Bowl champion.
Now you can go bring that experience to another team
to see if you can do it again.
If those pieces are aligned, you know,
from a defensive standpoint.
Again, that's why when I left San Francisco,
I forfeited that trade.
I didn't, I forfeited that trade. I didn't go to Baltimore,
even though they had a stout defense led by Ray Lewis.
They had Kyle Bowler as a quarterback,
and I tried to tell people, like, I'm not,
it's not nothing against Kyle, but he was a rookie.
They was like, oh, well, Ray Lewis is on the team,
blah, blah, you could have won it,
but Ray Lewis don't throw no passes.
You know what I mean?
I'm looking for somebody that can complement me
and vice versa to where, like I said,
I can extend my career and obviously ball a lot.
Cause you have personal goals, you have team goals.
And obviously everybody, you want to win a championship.
But again, I didn't feel that, you know,
I could go in there and Kyle could do the, you know,
be the quarterback that I needed
where I was in my career at that time.
Yeah, what I think he factored in
was the weather and the bitches.
Yeah.
That was part of the decision.
Miami.
Yeah, that's my plan.
Ain't no money.
Hey, that's part of it.
It all go hand in hand.
Yes, man.
It all go hand in hand.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's definitely living his best life.
So last topic, where we actually go to break.
So we kind of had the discussion of the top ride receivers,
which is you, Jerry Rice, Randy Moss.
That's kind of the list that always circulates.
So in your opinion, right now...
Real quick shout out to Randy too, man.
You know, he's dealing with some cancer.
We definitely pray for him.
Yeah, salute. Yeah, no doubt, man.
Get well, Randy. Much love.
Get well, my guy.
For sure. But in your opinion,
who do you think are the top three,
because we're not doing the top five, you said top three,
provide receivers right now?
In the league or in all time?
In the league.
Ooh, right now I've got your Jamar Chase,
Justin Jefferson.
Ooh.
That's crazy already.
Ooh, well that's a lot of good receivers.
I'm gonna throw AJ Brown in there.
I'm gonna throw AJ Brown,
just because he representing the Eagles, you know.
Again, he's one of those guys that I-
Fucking Eagle fans in the fucking control booth,
calm the fuck down in there, man.
I see y'all on my peripheral, man.
You're gonna do a,
gotta put the camera on the nigga, man.
Go ahead.
Give him some light, Nick.
Yeah, okay, all right, man.
But there's a lot of, I mean,
there's a lot of good receivers, young good receiver.
Amon Say Brown, Detroit Lions.
All these guys are budding superstars.
You got Zay Fliers coming up with the Ravens.
But Tyreek Hill, obviously he's one of the top.
Again, he didn't have the greatest year this year,
but he's a top talent.
You know what I mean?
I would obviously throw him in there.
But yeah, he's a force to be reckoned with.
Like I said, you put somebody with that skill set,
get him with a quarterback.
I mean, you saw what he did last year
and you saw the effects of not having a quarterback,
a healthy quarterback throughout the course of the season,
what that does to your production.
But I was like, I would put obviously,
like I said, Tyreek Hill in there, Justin Jefferson
and Jamar Chase, those guys are dynamic.
Okay, then how do you feel about his list, Mase? Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase, those guys are, they're dynamic. Okay.
Then how do you feel about his list, Mase?
I think his list is pretty accurate, you know?
Okay.
Yeah, I think it's Jamar Chase and then
it's probably about five, six people
that you could put under there.
But Jamar Chase is just, he's different.
And I know that's my team, so I'm not just showing favor
to the cripple crown, cripple crown type nigga, nigga.
Niggas ain't wanna give that nigga his money.
Came into the season with a little attitude,
end up still with all the great,
all the yards this season.
Listen, I'm gonna go with Jamar Chase.
Justin Jefferson, he's nice, but it's just like fucking,
you have to, it's like the same three.
He deserves to be on this list,
but I'm not gonna put you on my list.
We'll go a little bit outside,
but you deserve to be on the list.
I'm just gonna go against T.O.
Not that his list isn't accurate,
just to give you a little switch up.
I'm gonna go with CD Lam.
Yeah, yeah.
And a very underrated, very, very underrated receiver
that doesn't get mentioned a lot is Mike Evans.
Ah, for sure.
His sister, C, is out of control.
They don't bring him up enough.
Right.
So I'm gonna go with-
Good choice.
Yeah, outside of course, my nigga, CD Lamb and Mike Evans.
And DK Metcalf too.
Yeah.
My guy, DK.
Yeah, definitely.
Again, they're under, I think he's underutilized.
I can say he's underrated, underutilized.
Mike Evans is on 11 seasons with a hundred thousand yards.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so definitely Mike.
Yeah.
OK, in the comments down below, let
us know what you guys' top three Ry receivers in the league
would be right now.
We're going to go to break.
When we return, we will talk about our Super Bowl pick,
and we'll get into the Jets' new head coach.
Don't go anywhere. Welcome back. Now let's get into our underdog picks of the day.
So tonight the Lakers will play the Sixers.
Underdog has Anthony Davis at 26 and a half points.
Do you have him higher or lower, Mase?
I'll go lower. Okay.
Is Joe Allen B playing?
What the fuck?
Yeah, he was in practice like, what the fuck?
He ain't fucking available for Denver.
When it's time to go play against the Joker,
he's always missing, but he's gonna be available.
What's the game at, Philly?
Joe playing, he probably get higher.
You see Philly?
Of course Joel Embiid's playing.
He don't like to fucking travel.
Anthony Davis against Joel Embiid.
I'm gonna go higher.
I don't know what's, I don't fuck,
I can't even tell you nothing about Joel Embiid this season.
I think he played 12 games.
If that's his matchup, I'm gonna go with Anthony Davis
for higher than 26.
Yeah, style, you gotta give us style information.
Yeah, I told you, he's not practiced, you just don't know.
If he's not playing, he probably have lower
because he don't think he gotta play.
But if against old Embiid,
he definitely gotta put up points.
That was the thing, because there was footage
after he didn't play versus Denver,
and it said that he was flipping around and stuff,
but it's like, I thought you were hurt, so I don't know.
I'm sick of the fucking NBA as a product.
I'm sick of it. Like, I can't take it, man.
I don't know what you're gonna do, Adam Silver.
I don't fucking know, but I'm sick of it.
I sit there and set my night up around the Pelicans
playing the Grizzlies,
the number one pick against the number two pick,
2020, whatever year the fuck Zion and Joggett there.
I get home, settle in,
and neither one of these niggas is playing.
Neither one of these motherfuckers is playing.
I'm sitting there, I don't wanna see the game
if neither one of them is playing.
I turn TV on the next night,
both them playing against some other niggas.
What the fuck?
So y'all didn't wanna suit up against each other,
and then, so y'all was hurt that night,
but the next night.
It probably went out that night.
Whatever it was, they was sitting on the bench.
Whatever it was, I was disgusted as a fan.
The NBA product right now is terrible
and this is why they losing viewerships
and everything else.
As a product, overall, it's terrible.
We don't know who's playing night to night.
It's 800 three-pointers getting shot every night.
Nobody's going to the basket.
You can't foul nobody.
Everything is a fucking tech, even if you look at it.
Fix it, Adam.
And everybody's playing in low tops.
Yeah, yeah.
That's part of their problem.
Whatever it is, whatever, that's a good point too.
Bezo brought that up the other day.
But as an overall product, we don't know who's playing.
I'm sitting there last night before I go out.
Fucking turn the clippers on.
Oh shit, Kawhi, it's a treat to watch Kawhi.
Like, oh shit, Kawhi's on.
I didn't even, because I don't know
when the fuck Kawhi's playing.
Nah, he's been hurt though.
He's been, he's been hurt.
But what I'm saying to you, he's been hurt for 22 years.
He's always fucking hurt.
I know again, but me.
Ever since he left, I don't give that's your friend. We're friends and that's it. That's T-Ho man,, he's been hurt for 22 years. He's always fucking hurt. Ever since he left, I'll give that to your friend.
We're friends.
That's the old man.
Yes, I know.
No, but I know, no, it's not about me being my guy,
but injuries are like knee injuries.
They're real.
They're serious and fans and people,
they don't understand what toll that is
and what it takes to play night in and night out.
If you got like serious knee injury
and he had an ACL injury, bro,
if it's not rehabbed properly
and taking the proper amount of time
or you're rushing back to play just to appease
like the pressure, the public pressure,
then you go in there and like you play a couple of games
and it swells up and then you having to kind of like
trying to get it back healthy. Then again, the public scrutiny is like, you play a couple of games and it swells up and then you having to kind of like, try to get it back healthy.
Then again, the public scrutiny like,
oh, he's not playing.
Like as a player that kind of gets to you.
So you're almost trying to prove a point like,
I'm not hurt, but you really are.
Then you're just making matters worse.
No, I totally get it.
I'm like you, when you see stars
and you have like marquee matchups, you want to see them.
And then when it doesn't happen, and then again,
fans are paying their hard-earned money
to come and see these stars play.
Again, that's why I appreciate guys like Steph
and old school guys like Kobe, all those guys,
they played, it didn't matter what Kobe,
Kobe could have put up half an arm,
he gonna play regardless, just for the love of the game.
A lot of these guys, they're not built like that anymore.
But again, like I said, me knowing personally,
like I said, I know I'm good friends with the head trainer.
I kind of go down there, I understand.
And again, something like, me too,
I'm like, I want to see Kawhi play too.
He balling out, now he bowls out for like two or three,
two or three games, then something happens.
Again, people don't understand,
like it's a lot of wear and tear.
And for him to play the lot of wear and tear.
And for him to play the style of play and be efficient,
you want to be a hundred percent healthy.
But if you, if you see him, you watch him now,
he's like, he's taking this time off.
Like even going over, he wanted to play, you know,
for the Olympics and wanted to represent his country.
Then he ended up having to come back because again,
the knee starts swelling.
And again, he thought in an organization thought
is the best interest. Okay, let's get you back,
get you ready for the season.
And obviously it took a little bit more time,
you know, for the beginning of the season
for him to start to play.
That's why now, like I said,
he's looking like the old Kawhi of old.
Cause like I said, he's taking that time
and doing all the necessary things to get back on the court.
But like you, I'm a basketball fan.
No, I respect Andrew Lucky. So I ain't gonna do this to y'all niggas. I'm out. I'm out. Right, he like you, I'm a basketball fan. No, I respect Andrew Luck.
He said, I ain't gonna do this to y'all niggas.
I'm out.
I'm out.
I respect it, cause just playing with niggas.
He just bowed out.
Playing with niggas' emotions, you're trying to watch.
Kawhi Leonard played 125 games since 2021.
82 games a year.
So he hasn't even played two seasons in five years.
He's no worse than Ben Simmons.
No, we shouldn't, no, Ben Simmons.
Ben Simmons.
No, no, no, no.
Kawhi, let it.
That's mental, that's mental.
No, we don't give no, Ben Simmons gets no credit up here.
I'm telling you that right now.
Ben Simmons, we are the number one show
of highly disrespecting Ben Simmons for disrespecting us.
The reason why we're so disappointed in somebody like Kawhi,
and I say disappointed,
I like that you brought that attention to us
and not just us, to the audience,
because you obviously played at the highest level,
and you know this more than us.
We haven't played professional sports.
So your take was very, very well,
and I appreciate the insight.
But when you have somebody with Kawhi Leonard
who won a championship, and we see his greatness,
he played with this, um,
San Antonio Spurs, ended up being a man
with Tim Duncan, number one, there.
The only championship in Canadian history in, uh...
with Toronto.
So when you see this greatness and you just want to see it,
and you're like, it's like even with John Marino,
we see all this power flyers, Zion.
That's why I brought that game up, because you look for a certain excitement, and you don like, it's like even with John Marino, we see all this power flyers, Zion. That's why I brought that game up,
because you look for a certain excitement
and you don't get it in Kawhi Leonard.
It's top tier when he is healthy.
It's just disappointing that he's not a fan.
I'm gonna give you a football example.
I'm a guy that, again, looks healthy, got injured,
trying to get back Todd Gurley.
Todd Gurley was the same way.
Right, yeah.
Had that knee injury, played,
I think it was one of the playoff games,
got hit on the sideline.
And when I saw the hit, I was like, man, something happened.
I could just tell just by the body language
and how he got up.
Then again, bro, he never was the same after that.
Again, going through training camp, rehabbing,
getting the injections, the stem cell, the PRP,
doing all the necessary things to try to help,
heal it and get back on the field.
He was never really the same.
That's why he ended up having to retire.
But again, football is a little bit different.
It's a lot of wear and tear with football,
especially that position, that running back.
It's a lot of wear and tear,
like a lot of change of direction, stop and go.
He needs that.
And again, like when you get that,
especially in basketball, it's the same thing.
A lot of stop and go, jumping, landing,
all those things factor into like,
obviously the injuries and him really trying to
get back to play to the level that he needs to play in.
So again, I hear it, I'm a fan as well.
I hear a lot of the commentators, analysts,
they're critiquing him, they're mad at him
because he's not playing, he's sitting out.
But again, if you've never had a knee injury,
you'll never understand what that's like.
You trying to tell me that Kawhi doesn't wanna play?
That's not, he doesn't strike me as that type of guy.
God is just one champion, a couple of championships.
If he could be out there and play at 100%
and not worsen that knee, then he will be out there.
Yeah, so I lose that he calls crying,
calls him crying at night sometimes,
and I want to play, I want to be out there.
Right, and like I said, you always hear about these guys,
like mental health, that's an issue.
Like all this negativity directed toward him, you know, directed toward him. Like
that, you don't think he, he, he hears it. He feels it. He wants to be out there to play. He
want to help his teammates win. It's, it's unwarranted, but again, that's, that's what
comes with the territory or being, being a superstar. And some people can obviously play
through it and some things, some, some things you can play through, you know, you can play
through being hurt, being injured is totally different.
A lot of people ain't built that way.
I played in the Super Bowl, like I said, I was hurt,
I was injured, you know what I mean?
But like I said, I was built a little different,
you know what I mean?
But I still found a way to play,
even though doctors across the country said
I wouldn't play or I shouldn't be playing.
Had to sign a waiver to actually play in the Super Bowl
because it was just unbelievable at the progress
that I had made from the time that I had the injury
to the time of the start of the game of the Super Bowl.
Very well said.
And then to answer your question about Embiid,
he has missed 31 games.
And then the Sixers are the 11th seed right now,
which is crazy because they got Paul George, Maxey, obviously, and B.
So it's unfortunate.
It's unfortunate.
I'm spending mad bread.
Them niggas all got like some wild contracts
over the summer.
Ooh yeah.
All of them.
And that's what's so crazy about the NBA,
like girl, whether you play or not,
you gon' get paid.
Then you get paid, you can get traded, whatever the case.
If this is football, you're not getting paid.
You're not getting paid.
That's why those guys really don't,
they have that kind of like entitled,
I don't care type of attitude.
They're not really forced or pressured
to like really have to play because like I said,
they're gonna get paid regardless.
Right.
Okay.
And then underdog has LeBron James at eight and a half
assists, do you have him higher, Laura Cam? Go higher. Okay. And then underdog has LeBron James at eight and a half assists. Do you have him higher or lower? Cam?
Go higher.
Okay. And Tyrese Maxx, he's at 41 and a half points,
rebounds and assists. Do you have him higher or lower?
41 points, rebounds and assists. I'm going lower.
Okay.
You'd be right.
Put some numbers up, man. It's been scoring like 30. I'm going higher.
Because if he has to take the low, if he is not.
The nigga Paul George the other day, young man murder.
Nigga went for a rebound saying, ooh,
and then left the whole game.
Tyrese Maxx needs to hard and soul
of that shit over there right now.
So I'm going with higher.
That nigga grabbed his pinky and left
for the rest of the game, man.
I'm, so.
I'm like.
That's how a player's different.
Different.
That's how Mace would be.
You know what I mean?
You see, he's still crying about a mile,
twenty something years, thirty years later.
Man, T.O. hit me, man.
I'm like, he broke my tooth.
You still crying or something? Man, T.O. hit me, man. I hit him, I hit him. I hit him, I hit him. I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him.
I hit him, I hit him. I hit him, I hit him. I hit him, I hit him. I hit him, football. Yeah, I was there, T.O. I watched you train, pause.
I remember, you know, Tony Villani and all that.
I trained with you. You don't remember?
No, I don't.
Okay.
No, I do not.
This is PTSD I'm talking about.
Oh, man.
But just like a football player, you know, when you're,
when you're a good looking guy, your teeth matter, you know?
So, whether it's his knee, Kua's knee,
or it's my front tooth, it's the same to our industry, you know?
I feel you. I feel you.
Okay, if you guys like these picks,
remember you always get a free pick
if you're not already on Underdogs,
so make sure to support the show,
sign up now, and you can make your picks too.
So, T.O., Super Bowl Sunday is coming up.
Who do you got winning? The Eagles or the Chiefs?
I mean, I'm gonna have to be biased.
Obviously, I played with the Eagles, so,
and, you know, A.J. Brown is my guy.
Devontae Smith is my guy.
Um, you know, been watching Saquon do his thing,
you know, all year.
Uh, even messaged him, like, yeah, like, you know,
after one of the, I think it was like second to third game,
he fumbled, you know, I was like, yo, bro,
it's like, you know, don't worry about it, don't sweat it.
I'm like, literally, I told him,
literally and figuratively,
he's gonna have to carry the team.
And that's what he's been doing.
And so obviously you got a good running game.
And if Jalen plays the way I know he can,
he's developed and like I said,
get back to the Jalen, you know, a couple of years ago.
Again, he's not throwing for like three, 400 yards,
but he's being efficient.
If he can get the balls to the receivers,
Devontae, your Tide and Goddard, obviously AJ.
And like I said, they get their running game going.
It could be a long day for the Kansas City Chiefs, but
I wouldn't count those guys out.
Number one, you got Patrick Holmes, obviously you got a head coach in Andy Reid,
who by far is my favorite head coach to play with.
And we went to the Super Bowl in 04 with the Eagles.
Again, I'm just not gonna count them out
with just those guys alone.
And you gotta factor in the refs.
The refs has been a factor in pretty much a lot
of their wins.
And I'm just saying like for me,
one of my friends asked me, he trains Travis,
Travis Kelsey during the off season.
And he hit me earlier today.
He's like, who you got, KC or Philly?
And my aunt is like, bro, I wouldn't, I don't know.
I wouldn't put my money on, on against, against KC.
You got KC.
Who?
You really got KC, would you buy us? Cause you you got people you don't even say you got KC.
Let me tell you this.
Tell her the tape, go by position,
except for the quarterback position,
Eagles by landslide.
They got the receivers, they got the running back,
defenses, you know, they could be a stalemate,
quarterback is gonna make the difference.
Like I said, if that defense can get to my homes
and get him out of the pocket
and make some errant throws,
then like I said, it bodes well for the Eagles.
But again, like I said, getting him out of the pocket,
he can be just as dangerous as sitting in the pocket.
So defensively, the Eagles, they know they got a big job
and a big task at hand.
So I mean, I'm rooting for the Eagles,
but again, I wouldn't bet against the Chiefs.
Like I said, and with the refs, I just, honestly,
I just, with all the calls-
What do you mean you say the refs?
I've been talking about the refs too,
they think I can like, they can't hear me.
Bro, it's crazy.
Because I played the game, man.
I'm watching the game and I'm looking at all these calls
that they're just, that's benefiting
the Kansas City Chiefs.
Look at the game before, against the Texans.
Bro, like, you know, my homes is smart,
he's dinking around, he's causing the flag, you know what I mean?
He's getting the benefit.
He didn't even get hit.
15 yard flag, the guy, Will Anderson,
barely hit him, another,
that can stop the momentum of the game.
At that point in time, the Houston Texans
were in the game.
Those calls right there, advances them,
gives them extra downs,
it changed the whole complexity of the game.
Do you think that's been going on all season
with Kansas City or just as recently?
With the referees?
You can even go back to the last couple of Super Bowl,
even when the Niners played the Super Bowl.
Look at all the holding calls.
If you watched that tape, bro, it was crazy.
They were getting clothesline and they were not calling it.
Bro, it is blatant, blatant calls that were missed.
Like obvious. That's the word I've been looking for, blatant. It is blatant, blatant calls that were missed. Like obvious.
That's the word I've been looking for, blatant.
Shit, it's blatant, man.
Bro, it's blatant and obvious.
Like it's unreal.
And I've never thought, again, I've texted somebody,
I'm like, I never thought I would say that,
I thought games would rig or somebody got some plays
and it is unreal at the amount of calls
that are not called against the Kansas City Chiefs
that are called against everybody else.
T.O., you and Cam need to watch out.
I'm gonna tell you something.
What I do?
What I do?
It's because me, because me, because we got us.
Because we got us.
Because you're stepping in Swiftyland.
I want you to know that, T.O.
You don't need to Swifties against you.
I ain't got nothing. I hate Travis Kelsey, my guy. Love Travis Kelsey. Yeah, T.O. You don't need to swift these against you. I ain't got nothing.
Travis Kelz is my guy.
Love Travis Kelz.
Yeah, clean it up. Clean it up.
No, we train together.
We got the same trainer.
When I work out in L.A., again,
Andres is my favorite coach.
I mean, he's done a hell of a job since.
It's a good clean up now, Cam.
You want to clean it up?
I'm not cleaning up anything.
I'm just giving you my point of view on what I'm seeing,
just like everybody else.
Like I can give you a, you know,
I don't look at it sometimes from a fan perspective
because I actually played the game.
Yeah.
I mean, over the years,
I've even had guys that bet on the game,
like, man, what do you think?
You know, and some guys are like,
they're just hardcore fans of their team.
And I'm like, well, you gotta take the emotions out of it.
Yeah.
Like you gotta look at literally the logistics of the game.
You gotta tell the tape, like you gotta actually know
who's playing who, what's, you know, who's gonna be,
you know, make a big difference in the game.
Like I take the emotions out of it
and literally look at the game at who's playing who
and who I think actually is gonna win based on performance.
That's what I actually did last week,
took the emotions out of it.
Pause.
The whole thing about it is, we got eyes.
Everybody sees what's going on.
Everybody has eyes.
Since week one, when they played my team.
Here we go.
Where's your team?
The Orange.
Cincinnati Bengals.
Okay, yeah.
I got ties with the Bengals too.
Jerboro played a hell of a season.
They sit there, it's a minute and a half left.
It's fourth down and 16.
Patrick Holm throws a 30 yard pass
and it's a bang, bang pause and then they get a flag.
It just started week one.
This is what I'm trying to tell you.
See, y'all brought it to my attention.
It's been going on since last couple seasons, man.
I just was going this week, week after week after week
after week, we see some wild shit.
Back to a better stat, Mason, you maybe wasn't here,
we was talking about it before you walked in,
is that you don't bet against Taylor Swift.
I'm going, only reason I'm picking the Chiefs,
they're 17 and three with Taylor Swift. I'm going, only reason I'm picking the Chiefs, they're 17 and three with Taylor Swift.
It's tremendous numbers.
That's a fact, it's a whole fact.
No, that's real, that's why I said what I said.
And then you talked about Adam Silver.
This had nothing to do with football,
but this why you said what you said.
Yeah, you said that about Adam Silver.
You wanna have a good product, you got this.
You know, I'm just bringing it all back home.
You want a good product, Roger Goodell said,
I don't want to be looking like Adam Silver.
What's better for the league?
To have Lil Uzi rocking his hips?
You want to hear the intro again?
Well, I'm just saying that football's
the number one sport in America.
Hazmins not even close.
We seen that on Christmas Day.
They just basically took Christmas from basketball
and say, yo, y'all niggas might as well
start rockin' on Christmas Eve.
We about to start doin' this.
It's not even a close situation when it comes to fans.
Because football is once a week, it's a buildup.
Basketball is like four or five times a week
for your, if you have a team.
So the buildup week to week
and the anticipation for a game to happen
is more for football.
Not only that, you're sitting in stadiums,
50 to 100,000 depending on it.
If you're in Giant Stadium or Jerry's World,
week after week.
Ohio Stadium, I lived in Columbus.
We sold out about 16 years straight,
102,000 people every week.
And so it's more buildup in the anticipation
for the sport of football.
Basketball, that shit comes on to me.
It's 82 games a year.
It's a lot of games.
But yeah, I'm not gonna go against,
do I want the Eagles to win?
Yeah, but yeah.
I don't wanna hear Gillian Wallo mouth.
Yeah, they're there.
They're there. That's why I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, I ain't gonna lie hear Gillian Wallo's mouth. Yeah, they're there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's why I'm looking forward to it.
Yeah, I ain't gonna lie.
They got the craze.
Wallo, you know why I like Wallo?
Wallo gonna beat it with the Chiefs.
Yeah, Wallo, that's why I'm gonna say it.
That's why I was talking about it,
because Wallo don't care about switching sides.
Wallo will walk right in the Chiefs locker room
and tell niggas, I've been fucking with y'all.
He just fucks with whoever's winning.
He's gotta remind me of you.
Come here, man.
He's gotta remind me of you.
That's who he's messing with, man.
I think Lil Uzi bring them out, they win.
I think, you know, I'ma just leave it right there.
No disrespect to you, Meek.
Shout out to Meek.
You know, in the cases.
Lil Uzi? Why Lil Uzi?
Right.
He's from Philly.
He's from Philly.
You know the wrong song bringing you out
will make you lose. Really? I didn't know that, yeah. You know the wrong song bringing you out of Make You Lose.
Really?
I didn't know that, yeah.
You guys, I'm watching the hip hop side of it.
Like he's watching the sports, I'm watching the hip hop side.
I'm not mad with him.
You bring Taylor Swift out, you win.
You know, win is the best.
Other day, I mean, a lot of people blame
Jello Ball for the Lions losing.
Exactly, you get my point.
You picked the wrong music.
Or like when Drake makes bets against him.
That team usually win.
I was saying usually win.
You getting it T.O.
So they come out with the wrong act.
Who knows?
Hey man, you know, I think that, you know,
you may be on the side because I think
that's the reason Terrence Crawford
beat Aerospanza, came out with Eminem, man.
When he came out with that Eminem, everybody paused.
Nobody thought Eminem was gonna be there.
Wow, that was the moment.
We'll see, we'll see.
I like your perspective.
We'll see if it works out, man.
Everybody's looking for something to-
The edge. Motivate.
Edge that energy, get that energy,
kind of move the needle, you know what I mean?
But the Eagles, like I said, they play, you know,
pretty efficient, mistake, don't make any turnovers,
which obviously, like I said, you can't make any turnovers
because, you know, that boy number 15,
he's going to, somehow they're going to capitalize.
And literally, when they played, what,
three, four years ago in the Super Bowl,
that one turnover that Jalen had,
that turnover was costly.
They ended up losing by three points in that Super Bowl.
Now let me ask you something, T.O.,
because I wanted to ask this,
since you're a football player, a Hall of Famer.
I'm an expert, too, expert.
Expert.
Expert.
Expert. Okay. I like that.
We'll welcome you to the expert team.
Yeah, so how much does intelligence matters
when it come to quarterbacks?
Because we see a lot of guys can run,
we see a lot of guys can throw,
but how much does the intelligence play?
Oh, it plays a big factor.
And I mean, obviously pre--Snap read, really,
to obviously verbalize and memorize all the plays.
Pre-Snap read, kind of knowing the different coverages,
knowing your first, second, third, fourth read,
all of that matters.
High IQ football players, sometimes that's
better than athletic guys.
Because sometimes, like, guys, I've been around on teams
where coaches play guys because they know exactly
what they're doing, they're reliable.
Those are high IQ guys.
And obviously to be a quarterback,
you're the floor general.
It's like basketball, you're the floor general.
You have to know where everybody is.
You gotta know, obviously counters, play doesn't work.
Look at Patrick Mahome, like I said, he's one of those guys, like he knows what to do. you gotta know, you know, obviously counters, you know, play doesn't work with,
look at Patrick Mahome, like I said,
he's one of those guys, like, he knows what to do.
If the play's designed and everything goes well,
it's gonna be a good play, but that play breaks down,
again, he knows where everybody on that field
is supposed to be. West Coast offense,
I was a part of that, that was kind of like,
you know, what I grew up under, was groomed under. We had something called the scramble drill.
If the play is, like I said, designed and it breaks down,
again, defense is gonna play good defense sometimes.
Quarterback, you got a mobile quarterback
and I play with a number of them.
They get out of the pocket.
In relation to wherever you are on the football field,
we have assignments as to where we need to be
once that quarterback gets out of the pocket.
And so that's what great teams do
when they have a lot of success.
Obviously the quarterback has to know what they're doing.
Very high IQ guys.
And again, it's all about ball accuracy,
picking out matchups.
Prime example of that, if you look back some years back
when the Atlanta Falcons were up like 25 points
on the Patriots.
The Patriots came back,
Tom Brady had to be efficient every drive.
He couldn't win the game in one drive.
Every drive had to be efficient.
He took every play and took advantage of every drive
that he had to get back in the game.
Some guys are not well equipped enough to like,
and poised and patient enough to do that.
Every drive counted and they capitalized
and they got back in the game and they ended up winning.
To be down 25 points,
you're not supposed to come back and win.
Not no Super Bowl.
Not no Super Bowl.
You're supposed to win that up being up 25.
But that just shows you how great
and how cerebral time is understanding who he has at,
and it's obviously offensive coordinator play calling,
obviously matchup grunt, taking those mismatches,
all of that matters.
Great question and an even greater discussion,
but that's all the time that we have for today.
