Welcome back to It Is What It is.
I'm Treasure Wilson, aka Stat Baby, along with your host, Mace, and Camp.
Killer, what's good, man?
Mace was good, bro. How you doing?
I'm doing good, man.
I see these colors, man, and I don't like it.
I don't like it.
I'm just going to start off the show.
Statt, you, orange, blue.
It's tangerine.
man. It's springtime fine, man.
Like,
mom. Yeah, yeah. I remember I was trying to.
Yeah, I was trying to lose to.
This is not the same color.
If you put mine next to Statt,
it's just two totally different things, man.
It's Statt. I don't have time for it early this morning.
For real, Statt.
Just, who is it?
Whose number do you have on?
Is it 25?
What's the number?
Yeah, it's 25.
I just feel like,
I'm not switching teams.
I'm going to make that very clear.
Oh, my goodness.
It's just their moment.
And I, I'm not going to lie.
I doubt it the next.
I doubted the next.
So this is just, y'all got it.
Is their moment or is a moment?
That's subjective.
Oh, okay.
I'm just making sure.
Because you're saying it's their moment.
You got on 25.
Is it 25 for McKell Bridges or is that, Derek Rose?
D.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's their moment.
That's all.
I'm making it clear.
I don't need you all coming from.
me. I'm just, y'all got it. Congrats. And we're going to start with that game because there's
been a sweep. So the Knicks advance to the NBA finals for the first time since 1999 after beating
the Cavs 130 to 93 Mace. Was this series a shock to you? How do you feel about them advancing?
Man, this series, it definitely wasn't a shock to me. I knew the Knicks would win. When we started this
year we said that we wanted to, not we wanted to, but we were expecting the Knicks to be in the
Eastern Conference Finals. So for everybody getting all crazy, it's still, I'm still not surprised yet.
This is exactly where I predicted from Title Town for them to be, but I don't know if they
cut the nets down. I don't know if they pop champagne. I don't know if it's confetti yet. I don't
know if it's the, you know, the trophy of all trophies. They can do it, though, but I'm not
sure. The wimby they beat is not the wimby of today. And SGA looks like he's not going for it.
So I think I share the same sentiment that the West Coast will lift the trophy up. So I like this
series. I like the way they got them out of their pause quick. I wasn't expecting James
Harden to be down on the floor like cones. James Harden, they're using you like cones. I
out there, right?
When you're teaching a kid how to play, that's what it looked like.
I mean, and not just cones out there.
This last game, it was like, you get a dunk now, you get a dunk.
You get a dunk now, you get a dunk.
I saw Landry go baseline and get a dunk.
You got McKell doing fadeaways.
You got OG getting a dunk and then come down and get another dunk.
It was just over for it started.
Once I saw the first quarter, I knew it was going to be this the game.
They're going to close them.
And the Knicks, shout out to the Knicks, though.
They did exactly what they're supposed to do.
They did what they got paid to do.
Mike Brown, shout out to you.
But I can't celebrate too early.
I've been here before.
I've seen this exact film two times before,
so I'm not excited.
Yeah, I concur.
I'm not excited, though.
We actually predicted this at the beginning of the season.
And what happens is this is what we're talking about
when it comes to Nick fans.
Nick fans. Everything's a celebration. Now, don't get me wrong, you went further than you went
actually last year, but that's why I told Nick to pull up some of the footage. What we predicted
this in October and November, actually Mace and myself actually said that we thought that the
Knicks should get to the finals, primarily because Jason Tadon wasn't playing Tyrese Halliburton
was hurt. We didn't know it was a mess in Milwaukee. We seen Joe L&B not be healthy and that
actually happened. So everything that we actually said actually happened. So what
May said is 100% absolutely correct. Now back to this series and what the Knicks are doing
right now, they're absolutely looking amazing 11 game winning streak, winning closed out games on
the road. Average margin of victory is a 20 points per game. I can't say enough about what
they're doing. They're on historic run right now as far as what they're playing, as far as how
they're playing. But as far as being excited,
The answer's that question, no, I'm not excited.
This is absolutely what we said, what's going to happen?
But what I will say is this, it looked like we watched two players this postseason,
pardon me, not in this playoffs, get old in front of our eyes.
First was Paul George.
I don't think there's no turnaround for Paul George.
I think we watched him get old right in front of us in James Harden as well.
We watched them turn 87 years old yesterday, right in front of our eyes.
We've seen it all season.
But this last game, the last two games looked crazy.
Mace alluded to him being a cone, I would say the same thing.
I was actually, we was in the house calling him a mannequin.
He was just standing there.
He wasn't doing anything.
I had to privilege to work with my man Mike Wilburne,
who's I'm a big fan of last week.
And he told me he was on the show on first thing,
and he said, we used to talk about the Greek freak.
And he said, I don't want to talk about the Greek freak.
He's a rumor.
And James Harton is a rumor.
I'm stealing that.
He's a rumor. One of the people like, did you say,
nah, he used to be aye. I'm telling
you he was nice.
He's a myth right now.
He's one of the niggas that you'd be like,
yo, nine niggas, all right.
So I will say this, because I will say this to the Nick fans,
I owe you 100% apology as far as saying that
bigger guards and saying
that he, Jalen Brunster will have a problem
when he goes against James Harton
and a bigger guard. No, he didn't
have a problem whatsoever. I didn't know
James Harton wasn't playing defense this year.
He was just let niggins go right past them.
So I do want to apologize about that.
I want to say this about the Knicks as well.
Like I said, the historic run,
but what I'd like most about the Knicks as well,
and I know I was making fun of his name,
I want to apologize to him,
even though I'm not fucking with your name,
Landry Scharman.
You're fucking, he's hit 10, 3-pointers out of 11
throughout the whole series,
which was incredible.
So he's looking like the Kyle Corver,
the Dale Ellis,
the Rick Fox, whoever you want to call
to actually help this team out.
Even though the Knicks are closing out,
they won about 40 points last night.
They won about 40 points.
Now I would say this, that Mike Brown is actually on the clock.
You won the two games that the Knicks couldn't win last year
and now you have to deliver a championship.
I'm pretty sure we'll talk about
who they could play next contention.
But I do want to say congratulations to the New York Knicks.
This is nothing that we didn't expect.
I know y'all are excited,
but we said that this should happen
in October.
Are we ready to say that James Harton just don't do well in the end of the playoffs?
Like, this is the way he's always ended in playoffs.
Just don't show up in the game that counts.
Well, I don't even see him doing good in the first couple games, let alone the games
that don't count.
I think what happened to me, to me, my personal opinion is that we are spoiled with people
like LeBron James and people like Steph Curry.
and people like Kevin Durant because they're playing good into their late 30s and early 40s
that we think that's supposed to happen for all superstars.
And Father Tom is not going to wait for everybody.
Everybody's not going to have the Kevin Durant who just made second team all NBA.
Everybody's not going to have to Steph Kirby career.
Everybody's not going to have to LeBron James career.
Some niggins going to hit 36 and it's that time to tap out.
We've seen that happen to Charles Barclay at 36 years old.
Dwayne Wade tapped out at 36 years old.
So everybody's not going to play as well as certain people that's in their late 30s or early 40s.
I just think that we got spoiled by the superstars that we've seen of late, my personal opinion.
That's a really good point because we are given unrealistic expectations just from what we've seen,
but that's not normal at all.
So shout out to them guys that can actually do it.
So, Kam, I want to ask you this question because we spoke about it last week.
We were talking about how Jalen Brunson has been able to do what he's done for the Knicks
and how he hasn't had a nickname because in New York here, always give somebody a nickname.
So one, I was curious on your thoughts about that.
And then two, the nickname that has now been going around has just been Big Body Brunson.
So how do y'all feel about that?
That's not really new.
They've been calling them that since last year.
I'm not calling no nigger.
Big body nothing.
I don't care how big he is.
I'm just asking the battle.
I'm not calling the nigger that.
But that's what they've been calling them since last year.
I think Kendrick Perkins gave him that name.
Yes.
I'm not calling them that.
His name is Jalen Brunson.
If you want to come up with a new nickname that I think it's cool, it's cool.
No, I don't like the nickname.
I'm not going to call him that, but to each his own.
Yo, with a big body, no, I'm just not comfortable saying that to a nigga.
But that's me.
I'm assuming you're in agreement, space.
We're like, what's the nickname going to be?
And I was like, Big Body Brunson.
I've heard it, but I've never actually called him that.
Yeah, I'm not calling that.
What I will say is this, though, about the Knicks and Jalen Brunson, is that I like their character as far as looking at their body.
language.
When we looked at this series that just passed, right?
They were down, even though they had a little rest, they were down 18, and I think
that's what took the air out of Cleveland in that first game, being up 18 points with a little
over seven minutes to go in the game, end up losing the game, then the Knicks come back
and go on to run three games straight and kick their ass.
But I really like the body language on the Knicks.
You know, we can see people who give up, and Cleveland gave up.
Basically in game three.
Their body language said, man, just get this shit overweight.
Last night, no different from game three.
They gave up.
But I will say this about the Knicks is that their body language is no celebration.
They don't want no street names this year.
They don't want you to light up the Empire State Building.
Even though the fans are going to go crazy, so on and so forth.
And in New York Knicks fans, they travel.
They took over Cleveland Arena.
They took over Atlanta Arena.
They took over Philly Arena.
Those niggas is out and about.
But I will say this, I don't see smiles on Jalen Brunson face after it's over.
I don't see a bunch of jumping up and down and he sets the tone.
So even if you want to get excited, when you see your leader with that face like, fuck is
we excited about, that makes you be like, now let me calm the fuck down because the job
isn't complete.
So I will say this that I'm very, very proud, because I like that shit, that the next
body language is like, I, cool, we hear, but.
This ain't what we come to do.
We ain't coming to just get here.
We came to win.
And when your leader has that tone, then shit, the rest of you got to get, you got to have
that tone.
You know what I mean?
So I do like that about that.
Yeah, I think Josh Hart has been a real difference maker on this team, at least the last
game, not the last game, but the game three.
When he came out and hit all those threes, I know we didn't get a lot to talk about that.
But I think he won that game and then this last game was just over for us.
it. Yeah. Okay. So now looking on the flip before we go to this next series,
if you're Cleveland, right, are you running the score back or do you feel like they need
some major changes? You definitely got to make major changes because when you look at this
team, what they lack is what I talked about all last week. They lack a point guard. They lack
somebody who can actually control the floor. I think sometime when you have so many
combo guards who does so well in the NBA that deal. And when they get into those,
those critical moments, the right decision doesn't get made with the ball.
We saw that in the life of Russell Westbrook versus Chris Paul.
We saw that with James Harden.
We saw that with so many other people.
Like they could play it for a moment, but in those crucial times, they just don't have
the wherewithal when it comes to a point guard to make sure that they make those right
agreements.
And then when they don't do that, it seemed like they don't.
the game gets away from them, and there'd be games they should have won, they don't win,
just because of that mindset.
So I think they definitely need a point guard.
This is when they needed the guard that they traded to the clippers.
They really needed him in this series.
You're talking about Dary's goal, and Neil.
Look, I think it's not just player and personnel changing.
You got a higher nigga who know how to coach defense.
You know, when you let two games go where the Knicks go on 18-point runs without stopping it, two games in a row, one time the Knicks are down, and another time they just extended the lead after they go on an 18-point run, you're not good at coaching defense and making adjustments going game to game.
I'm talking about Kenny Ackerson.
Not only that, the nigger said the dumbest shit in the world before yesterday's game.
He said, well, two out of the three games, we won by the analytics.
If you look at the analytics, we want, what the fuck is you talk?
about, man.
The analytics, y'all won.
You can't take the analytics to the shit with you, my nigga.
Look, look, we won the analytics race of this count.
Naga, where is you fucking talking about you
won the analytics competition?
This is not the analytics competition, my nigga.
Look, I'm gonna be honest with you.
When he said that shit, I wish I was next to a nigga
with a white glove and slapped the nigger with it.
One of them old-school shit and just slapped the nigger
backwards with the white glove
or have some baby pot on me.
And so what do you mean
that the three games you're lost,
y'all won two of the analytics
out of the analytics race of competition?
And see, that's when you depend on analytics too much
and you don't go by the eye.
And you don't go by instinct
and you don't go by what you feel.
Because the analytics says so,
so you lose the game by 20 points,
but you won an analytics contest.
Listen, I'm not saying fire the nigger,
but I don't fucking know what to do
with a nigger who are gonna tell you
me that we won the analytics battle, right y'all?
Right?
We won that one, right?
Yo, no, you didn't.
Well, if you did, it didn't matter, y'all lost.
So that's first and foremost.
You got to bring somebody in there who's going to help.
I'm not saying fire him, but he's going to have to help somebody, bring somebody in there.
We don't give a fuck about the analytics who cares about defense and know how to make adjustments
in the series game to game, game by game.
That's first and foremost.
Secondly, I don't know if I won James Hardin back on my team.
Look, I don't know.
I don't know what I'm getting.
And I'm not saying James Harden ain't a Hall of Fame.
I'm not saying he wasn't one of them niggas.
But watching what he just did, his stock lowered.
And if I'm Cleveland, I'd be pissed off if he picked up that $47, $48 million option he got on the table right there.
Because he has an option.
Yeah.
You know, James Hart, you're not to point the opt out and be like, I want more.
You can't do that at this point in your career.
And listen, you're my nigger.
I love watching you.
Okay.
See the shit you do.
in Houston, we didn't get to see how I had
had had had Blossom in Brooklyn,
a Cicelita, and when you went to
Philly, you know, it wasn't a bad job
and with the Clippers, this shit
that just happened just now?
Just take what you could get.
Take what you could get.
My personal opinion, I don't know if this would
help him or hinder him, but if I'm
Cleveland, I'm going all in for
LeBron James. Right now.
If LeBron James could be a free
agent, I would go all
right now for LeBron James.
I don't know what else,
you might need one more piece
because I'm not counting James hard.
You have Donovan Mitchell,
you got James, and you got
LeBron James.
I'm not even Karen,
Jared Allen.
I don't like his body language.
Two, three years ago,
this nigga Jared Allen
going to sit here and say,
pardon me,
Jared Allen going to sit and say,
well, I ain't know,
when I played against the Knicks,
the lights was too bright for me.
What do you mean?
the lights was too bright for you, nigger?
The lights was too bright.
Even if you mean that,
you don't say that.
What do you mean the lights was too bright?
And you know what happens?
Niggas keep an eye on shit like that.
And you know what happened?
It looked like they was too bright for you again
in this series.
Why would you say that?
And now we're going to observe if they're too bright.
So even if they wasn't too bright,
they look too bright.
You look scared.
You look like a deer had lights.
I don't like your attitude to be six, nine, six,
1610 and Easton
Comfort Friends. I can't trust you.
Eric Mowbly, you did a decent job.
Evan Mowley, Parma, you did a decent
job, but every time I look out,
you're popping out for three.
How come every time
it's a wide open three is you?
Get your big ass down the paint,
nigger. The fuck is you doing,
man? You always open for three.
You know, my nigger.
Listen, man, they need to fix
the offense, work on defense,
gets one or two other people that they can attract.
I don't want James Harton.
I would be all in for LeBron James right now.
And I don't know if that's going to do it,
but think about this.
The Lakers are not going to win with LeBron James and Luca on the same team.
I don't see that happening.
Last time you won a championship,
it was with LeBron James,
who got you a championship for the first time in 50, 60 years,
however long it was.
Now can LeBron do it again?
I don't know.
He's a little older.
Donovan Mitchell, he's capable of putting up some points,
but you've got to work that.
You got to get some defensive players there.
You need one more piece.
James Hardin is not the solution.
Jared Allen's a deer, headlights.
Evan Mobley's always open for three.
He's never in the paint.
But if that would be my answer stat,
I'm trying to go get LeBron James.
And for me, if I'm LeBron James,
I don't know if I want to do that.
Maybe you do, maybe you don't
because the last time they've seen you,
you won a championship for the city.
Now, if you don't,
they may remember you for not bringing a championship to the city.
So, you know, it's a 50-50 thing.
Yeah, that's a fair point.
Even regarding James Hardin, I know when we talk about his career,
if you're not going to take away from the past,
but the conversation is always going to be,
what have you done for me lately?
And I think at this point, a lot of people are feeling a little.
If you about James Harden, just real quick before I move on Mace,
I'm assuming you agree with Cam.
At this point, you were willing to just, you're off at James Hardin.
Yeah, but when he got that 47 in the bag,
he got to get his 47.
Maybe they sign them and trade them,
sign and trade with the Lakers.
and make the Lakers sign and trade
so they get something for LeBron.
I know both teams will want to get something
for the player they have.
That may be a match that really works.
Yeah.
I mean, regardless, shout out to the Knicks for this win,
but now we're going to go on to the other.
Lakers don't want no James Hart.
Yeah, it's not happening.
I don't know who won James Harton right now, man.
And it's sad because James Holmes
one of them niggas is sad, but listen,
and you all think about this,
this was just, and that's why I'm apologizing.
This was just a month ago.
Yeah.
That we was like bigger guards.
Yeah.
It's going to be a different look and all this other shit.
Nah, man.
I watched the nigger.
I watched that nigga.
I watched that nigga.
What's this nigger name, man?
Benjamin Buttons reversing real time the other way around.
This thing got old right.
At halftime, that niggas turned 90, nigg.
Word.
Yeah.
Shout out to the Knicks.
So this next series, we got a tied series after the Spurs.
beat the Thunder 103 to 82 in game four.
As we know, this has been a very good series back and forth, back and forth.
Mace, how did you feel about the outcome of this game in particular?
This game was really good.
Every time I watched him play, I think Wimby goes to a new place as the new face of the NBA, right?
From the aspect of his tenacity, his willingness to win.
When he hit the shot from Havcourt, I was just like, you know,
Nah, and then when he did the Mike celebration, I was sold.
I was sold.
I'm not going to lie.
It was just like it was a surreal moment where you could tell he's been watching the guys before him.
He's been doing his homework.
And he looks like he want to put his fingerprint on the game.
That's what you always look for in great and great players.
Like, I want this game for you to know that I was on the floor.
And I think the way Vassel is playing, Castle is playing, that this is a tough series because
it seemed like every game somebody new shows up.
I'm not sure if they beat SGA in OKC, but this is, this is going to go down to the Y.
I think this is going to go all seven games.
I think OKC is coming to play.
And I was shocked that SGA didn't get this 20, his normal 20.
So I don't know what record he just broke.
But before, before that game, he was definitely hitting that 20 mark all the time.
I believe he broke Michael Jordan's record and a few other guys' record on the way to that.
So I think, you know, this is very important for the legacy of SGA.
I think if he wins this one, we could really put him down as that guy.
I was in a barbershop, not in a barbershop, but a shout out to the restaurant, Knife.
And a young guy named Kobe that's going to be playing with the Pelicans,
He was telling me if SGA win this championship killer, that he's the best point guard ever.
And I was like new hotness at his finest.
I figured you would like that.
We do like new hotness.
And it was Will Chamberlain's record, by the way.
Yeah, Will Chamberlain.
Yes.
Guys in the regular season.
Yes.
Look, the Spurs is my team.
I love the Spurs.
And Greg Popovich came into the locker room after game three.
and address the team after grain fall.
You know, he's the, forget this title.
This is a general manager.
Had the basketball operations for the Spurs.
And when Greg Poverish comes down
because they say he doesn't come down that often,
the people pay attention to it.
When I think about the Spurs
and I look at this team, of course it's my team
and I want them to win.
But it reminds me of the teams in the 90s
or the Bulls teams that took a little while
to get past.
the Detroit Pistons.
And it was just because they were younger,
Detroit had a little more experience,
so on and so forth.
And that's what the Spurs remind me of now.
They have an opportunity to do something great.
But if I'm looking at this realistically,
and like I said, I want the Spurs to win,
but I'm just telling you if I have to look at this realistically.
Spurs could have been there before the last game for 03.
They lost the two games two and three,
convincingly and then game one they won in double overtime.
You don't get a 28, three-point jump shot from Wendy.
You're down 03.
And that's just the realisticness of it.
We look at the last game, game four.
Now, we know J. Dub haven't been playing, but A.J. Mitchell didn't play.
AJ Mitchell is their second-leet and scorer on the floor.
And he helps with ball handling.
So the Spurs' defense looked like they was playing with a lot of tenacity,
but the second ball handler wasn't available.
Then you think about Alex Caruso, somebody who's been killing this series.
He only takes one shot in the last game.
When he's been hitting three four three-pointers, not just scoring, he only takes one shot
the whole game.
You have to take that into consideration as well.
So as much as the Spurs look good, it wasn't about, you have to also take into consideration
how bad OKC played.
OkC's not going to play that bad every game.
I don't even think SGA played.
in the fourth quarter because Mark Dagnar knew what was going on.
Not only that, let's take into the bench.
The bench points into consideration.
The first game, I'm looking at it now.
I had just pulled it up in my notes, right?
The first game, bench scoring, OKC, 76 to San Antonio, 23.
They outscored them by 50 points, 53 points in the first game.
Second game, we get 33 points, OKC to 26 San Antonio points.
And then the fourth game, I'll skip third game,
first three games, OKC once.
But the fourth game, you finally get the bench of the Spurs to beat OKC
and he only won it by four points where Alex Caruso only taking one shot.
I'm a little nervous.
Yeah, it doesn't look good.
And then you have to think about this.
They didn't look worried.
They didn't look like they was panicking.
SGA had to hide, whatever we did.
We had to do.
We're going back home.
it's all good.
So I think they need definitely
AJ back.
They've been playing a lot of these games
without J. Dub, so I think they're comfortable
without playing with J. Dub.
But you got to definitely get A.J. back.
And then each game outside the last game,
you got somebody else popping up.
Whether it's Wiggins.
One game is Wallace.
You got a fingernail, man.
McCain going crazy one day.
I'm pissed.
Finger nail man.
Yeah, man.
He's going crazy, man.
You do that.
Yeah, you know why?
Because I'm looking at the interview with the name.
No disrespect, McCain.
He did your thing.
He did your thing.
He did your thing.
He did your thing.
He did your thing.
He didn't do a thing in last game.
No, four points in come out of.
Don't get crazy.
Don't get crazy.
But heck.
I'm giving it the credit where it's due.
Don't get crazy.
I said he did his thing in game three.
I'm not going to act like he'd be doing.
He didn't do a thing in a last game.
He was feeling himself game three and he tried to carry it in the game four.
And it just wasn't rocking.
She was quiet.
for the nigger. Now let me get the nigger the props he's supposed to get it. You did your thing in game three. I was pissed off to be honest with you because I'm trying to get into it. Pause as far as your nails and all that. But you won't have designs and shit on it. You just can't go solid color. You gotta have the designs and all type of shit on it.
I can't you do designs.
I don't know what he wants that. I'm telling you I'm trying to I'm trying to let it go. You got butterflies on you and everything else. You did this
thing in game three, realistically, all jokes aside, but last game he didn't.
But that's the thing about OKC, from game to game to game, no matter who it is, they are
so deep paused that you don't know who's going to step up.
And that's why I'm a little scared for the Spurs as well.
When people don't realize with the Spurs, we're really lacking a power forward.
When we think about it, you can sit there labeled Champanya forward if you want.
He's really a three guard.
Vassel is really a guard.
You got Castle we know as a guard
and you got Dearon Fox who's a guard.
Now you think about this
so you got four guards on the floor and Wembe.
Now when Wemby gets pulled out
of the defense when he has to go to contest the shot,
we're slacking on offensive rebounds
even though Castle try and get in there
and get it sometime we're lacking in the size.
That's why I said even though I know that's not a topic tonight
we'll worry about that another day,
make it for another day.
If I'm the Knicks, I wouldn't want to play the Spurs
because the Spurs, even though, like I said, it's my team,
I'm going with the Spurs, a root for you.
But they're lacking at the power forward position.
And you have OGN and Nobly, not only OGM, and Nobly.
You have Mitchell who also plays with Kat from time to time.
So you will also have that dominance in the front court
if you're the Knicks and you end up playing the Spurs.
OKC, they have a lot of bodies down there.
And not only that, Chet also plays
what's what I'm Heinrich um harnstein pardon me thank you um p t honston he plays with them as well
so it's bodies but if i'm the nicks i want the spurs because you're not giving kelly o lennox nillick
no minute not giving pommily no minute the only other person you give with size really is cornet
cornet had the nuns there praying for him i don't know if y'all seen that before the game the nuns was
court siding and did a,
they put their hands on court net
before the game. You all right take the nuns with y'all
the O'KC, nigga, because
I ain't going to front. They kept showing the nuns
all game too, man. That was dope. That was
real fly, man. I thought that was dope.
But if I'm the Knicks,
I want the Spurs because the
spurs are really lacking in the power
for a position. But listen, I think it's a great
series as well. We'll see
what happens, but you've got to get
AJ back minimum if you want to
give yourself chance, if you're OKC,
If not, they got some dogs ready to go with the spurs.
Yeah.
So question for you both as we look at individual players, right?
So from this series as a whole, if you're choosing one player in particular, who do you feel like is underperforming the most?
Like, just really not where they need to be?
Mm.
I would say.
And what the spur series?
Yeah.
It can be on either team.
I would say chat.
Yeah, I have to agree with Mace.
It's definitely Chet.
hasn't even taken 10 shots in the last two, three games.
He's averaging 18, 19 shots per game,
but he's taking less than 10.
And we're going to have to give that credit to Wembe.
Yeah.
You know, Wembe is a problem there.
I know we're going to talk about it men's comments later.
But, you know, it's one thing to say you're going to play against Wembe,
and it's another thing to go in the sea when you're going down the lane
and see it and they're going stilts in front of the basket.
You got to rearrange your shot.
You got to think second choice.
You got to pass the ball out.
So I would say Chet as well.
And we already know that Wembe has an attitude with Chet because of what happened in the
Junior Olympics when America beat Paris in the Junior Olympics, 2021.
It's supposed to be the 19 and 0 under Junior Olympics.
And Wembe was crying after that game.
I did some more research and I got some knowledge
on why Wembe was so mad
and why Wembe was upset about losing that game.
I didn't know that America was ringing.
It's supposed to be 21 and over
and Chet is two years older than Wembe.
Two years and some change.
So when you're coming for the junior Olympics
and you bring adults,
nigger like, oh, niggas,
a niggas ringing?
And then you only lose,
by two and then you know niggas is ringing.
I don't know what they call it in the
junior Olympics.
But niggas was ringing
Mace.
You know, it's 21 and under?
19 and under.
How old was they that?
Yeah, they are two years apart.
I know that.
That's what I'm telling you.
I did the homework and I found out
this is why niggas was really mad.
It wasn't just about losing.
It was like, now, niggas ringing, bro.
And for those that don't know what ringing means,
ringing means when you have a team that say 13 and under and you got 16 year olds on the team.
Yeah, it's 19 you.
Yeah.
So how old was Chet when they was playing?
Yeah, I'm trying to figure it.
Because it was 16 to 19 and I'm looking to see how old he was in 2021.
Yeah.
Let me get this.
19, yeah.
He was 19?
Yeah.
And how old was Wimby?
Yeah.
So I was 17.
Yeah.
So Wimby felt the way.
Wimby felt like, oh, niggas is ringing.
And that's what I heard.
Not what I heard.
It's a fact that I know that in Wimby's mind.
And that's why he's upset.
So maybe Niggas wasn't ringing, but niggas's like, all right, bet.
I'm going to take it out.
You know, what's that shit, Pock said?
Pay you back when I get older or what I want to them last Pock said.
Yeah.
And that's why Wimby was not just crying, upset.
That's why he's crying and shit.
Like, all right, they bought the older niggas.
Yeah, and when his chat was out there blocking all the shots,
I remember that, he was going crazy.
I think he had like 20 block shots in that whole tournament.
But Wempe has every right to be upset because when he's visibly frustrated, he definitely shows it, which, I mean, it shows that he's passionate.
And now we're seeing how that's translating to now.
So it's, I know we talked about the rivalry before, but it does run deep, kind of like Kim said.
So if you guys haven't seen the click, make sure y'all go back and watch it because it definitely gives a lot more context as to why Wembe acts the way that he does, even just aside from chat as a whole, but just even the way he plays.
They don't like losing.
And you shouldn't like to lose.
And when you lose closed games, I think blowout games people don't feel the same about.
But when you lose a closed game, especially 83, 81 in the Olympics, you know, junior
Olympics, you feel away about that because you feel like you could have won that game.
So I could see it.
Another reason why you say I'm going to make sure we're not in that position again.
Then also at the time, Chet didn't, even though he was older, he made the age requirement.
So that's also not Chet's fault.
but I understand the frustration.
I'll say that.
Okay, so all NBA teams have been announced.
We will discuss all the players who made it after the break.
Welcome back.
So the 2025 to 2026, all NBA teams have been announced.
So we're going to go through the first, second, and third team, starting with the first.
First team, we got SGA, Yokic, Wemby, Luca, and Cade.
Mace, do you agree with this list?
Do you like it?
Do you think somebody else should be in?
What are we thinking?
Yeah, for the first time, I'm going to rest.
I think this should be a different team.
I know when we talked about the MVP, we was putting Cade up there.
But after watching these playoffs, I got to agree that Jalen Brunson should be first team.
I'm going to go on a record and say that the kids should be in first team.
I mean, and I don't want to move.
I'm not saying move, K, but if y'all had to put a tie there, we got to put Jailen Brunson on first team.
Well, he's done in the playoffs has been nothing short of remarkable.
It is based off a regular season.
I know.
But I'm saying after seeing the playoffs, that's why I put that Aster in there that
Jalen Brunson should be first team.
I don't know what they got to do.
They're not going to do nothing about it now, but just his play has been remarkable,
and he's been this way all through the season.
But sometime when you see it in the postseason, it reminds you that this wasn't a fluke
all during the season.
I will say before you go, Kim, I am surprised by your answer because the conversations that we did have about Kay, and I know you were rooting for him, but now because of the postseason, that's kind of changing how you feel.
It changes. Just like a couple of years ago, Chet was better than Wimby.
Just like Killers said about James Harden. Things could change really fast. It could change really fast.
And these are one of those things that right now I would have to say until I see SGA against Jalen Brunner.
Jaylen Brunson is right there.
If he's not the best point guard in the league,
he's second.
Right there with SGA?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I think this list is perfect.
I think that the problem is this,
is that they announced the list a month after people vote.
The vote happens right after the season ends.
And when they give the vote at the end of the season,
your vote is based primarily off what you've seen in a regular season.
That's why Jaylen Brunson just won the Eastern Conference
player playoff award, which he deserves.
And I'm not saying Jalen Brunson shouldn't be first, second team, or whatever, but if
we're basing it off what they're basing off and people vote when people vote, then yeah.
And this is something that the NBA has to fix because these votes been in since the beginning
of April or middle of April when the playoffs, before the playoffs started.
But because they want to drag the announcements out, people totally get, you know, feel like
how Mace is feeling.
I watch the playoffs, the niggas should be first season.
Cade bust them niggas ass in the regular season.
So that's why people voted for Cade because it's based off the regular season.
Now, as time goes along and the votes is already in and you don't announce it,
then you sit there and be like, Jalen Bunch should be first.
And if I'm going off that, yes, he should be first.
But y'all drag these awards out.
I don't know why y'all do that.
Y'all should disannounce it the week after who's MVP,
who's defensive player of the year, who makes first, second, third,
Seymour, NBA, et cetera.
Because I remember the year, Dallas won the championship.
Then the next year they got bumped in the first round, but Dirk got league MVP.
And everybody talking about how Dirk get the league MVP?
How Dirt get the league MVP?
They just got bumped because people are voting before the playoffs start.
But then, you know, we start watching the playoffs and we forget that it's a regular season award.
So that's up to Adam Silver and y'all niggas, because the more we watch and we be like,
Yo, this niggas shouldn't have won.
It's a regular season award.
Stop waiting to get deep into the playoffs
to announce these winners
when you already know who won
and then you have the public riled up
talking about how the fuck this happened.
Because he was killing in a regular season.
It's a regular season award
and they have playoff awards.
But I blame this solely on the NBA
for trying to drag shit out.
Unless y'all just trying to create conversation.
It works.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
It's conversation.
Absolutely.
It's definitely working because I get your point of you too
because you're like, dang, from what I'm seeing now,
ain't no.
I mean, but they're saying the same about like one being SGA at this point.
So I don't know the way they do it.
Yeah, these lists look weird without seeing like Stefan Curry without,
I know he shouldn't be on this list.
But even without seeing LeBron on this list is crazy.
Yeah.
But let's go.
Yeah.
And I want to go over something you just said really quick
because you said you have Jalen Brunson right there with SGA.
Cam, do you agree before I move on?
Well, right now, as Jailen Bollinger,
Russson's playing historic.
He's looking really good.
You know, they have this argument the last few days.
If he wins, is he the best Nick ever, so on and so forth.
Let's pump the brakes and see what happens if he wins.
You know, don't be a prisoner of the moment.
Which New York is as fine.
I get it.
They're starving.
Boys, is hungry out there, man.
They drooling.
It's been a long time, my nigga.
I get it.
But prisoner of the moment.
Don't get caught up in this.
Listen, at the end of the day,
I don't deal with emotion.
When you're emotional, I can't fuck with you.
And I'm not just talking about basketball.
I'm talking about when you just can't.
I was emotional younger,
and I realized I had to step out of being emotional
because that needs you more emotional.
And right now, the Nick fans have the right to be emotional.
I totally get it.
Well, come on, man.
Let's wait.
This was supposed to happen.
And I'm glad that it did happen,
we would be more mad if it didn't happen
because we would have brought up
all the stuff that we bought at the beginning of season.
Jason Tatum ain't playing.
Tyrese Halliburton ain't playing.
So this was supposed to happen.
Putting him with SGA, he's looking good.
He's looking real good.
And he has an opportunity if OKC wins
to sit there and say,
now what?
Because everybody that we said,
well, I won't speak for everybody,
but the majority of media,
including myself,
It's saying that, come on, SGA is the best.
He can't be fucked with.
Even, and Jalen Brunson have been proving people wrong
ever since he's gotten to the Knicks.
People saying he didn't deserve the money with the next.
People saying that he couldn't take the next to win.
When a playoff series, people were saying all type of things.
Every step of the way, he proved people wrong.
So right now, if OKC wins, he has that chance to prove people wrong
and say, okay, now what?
But let's wait to tell.
that time comes. I'm not going to do it just yet. I'm not going to be stuck in the moment,
but if you look at what he's done so far, it's been amazing. He has the most playoff
wins in Nick history as a player. You got to think about this. The Knicks before that,
before the Knicks got there in the last however many years, I'll say this century, after they
made it to a championship, they have seven playoff wins. Not seven series, seven playoff wins as a
as a team, Jaylen Brunsett has 33 playoff,
was 34 playoff ones, something like that.
What he's doing as far as a franchise player
is incredible and he has another opportunity
to shut everybody up.
You like James Hardin?
Cool.
O.C.J. McCullors on fire?
I hate, cool. You like Tyrese Maxi?
Cool. Oh, y'all been talking this Donovan Mitchell shit, huh?
Cool.
You had the last step of Mortal Kombat.
Four Casey wins.
you reach Goro
Not the final boss
He's the final boss
If all Casey wins
You meet the final boss
So we'll see what happens man
Facts, facts, facts
Okay, second team
We got Jalen Brown, Kauai, KD,
Jalen Brunson, and Donovan
Mitchell
Mace, how are he feeling about this one?
I don't like this list
I don't like this list
I like Jalen Brown
Jalen Brunson
Katie, Kauai.
Kawai did play very well, but he had a lot of low management.
Like, I think we got to stop putting, giving people awards that are not, that are not playing the game.
Like, if they're taking a lot of time off and then coming back and playing, it's like they're playing rested while other people are playing the entire time.
And it's going to give you a better output.
because you're taking more time to get that.
I'm just really a stickler for sticking with the game.
Donovan Mitchell.
That's kind of cool.
I'm not sure.
Kind of.
Not enough.
Yeah, I think the postseason messed it up for me.
I think Donovan Mitchell is a great talent.
But, you know, just seeing them get swept by the Knicks did something.
So like we were speaking about earlier, maybe we need to have this discussion earlier
because after you see people in the playoffs,
it's hard to separate the two.
Well, what I'll say is just the reason why Kaua did make it
is because he met the requirements playing the game.
He played the 65 games that he needed to play.
That's why he made it.
This is probably a lot of LeBron James is not on any of this list
because it's the first time in 21 years
that he's not made an all-MBA team.
And the reason he didn't make an all-MBA team
is because he only played 60 games.
So everybody on this list played the 65 games
outside of Kate and Luca because they had those exceptions because of their injuries.
But I don't know.
You don't listen.
Listen, I'm definitely one of those people that say, you got to play.
You got to play.
And I'm going to give Kowah to credit because he's usually low management pause.
And he usually wouldn't make the 65 game rule.
But goddamn, it's some people that I'd be like, I don't get a fuck if they play the 65.
Take them all put Bron on.
He should have made it.
more than this, nigga.
I ain't going to call nobody out because congratulations for y'all to make it.
But I am one of them people as well.
You got to play the rules.
The rules is the rules.
So if we're going by the 65-game rule that people have to play, or 64, if you had a horrendous injury,
I'm not going to have to listen.
Okay.
And the last one, third team we got Tyrese Maxie, Jamal Moore, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren, and Chet.
Yeah, I think this is another list.
I'm happy with Tyrese Maxie.
happy with Jamar Murray, you know, Denver Nuggets, making it back to rare form, pause.
I really like this. And I love this idea of Jalen Johnson, having somebody from Atlanta on
that list. But when it gets the chat, when it gets, I'm not sure. I'm not sure. And I, and I
love chat. I watched them play all the way from middle school all the way up to the NBA's.
but when I look at this list,
I'm not too sure if I agree with this.
They could have put LeBron right here.
You're not.
This is where LeBron could have been placed.
I can't.
Over chat.
How many games to Anthony Edwards miss?
Too many.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, this is what I'm saying.
Like, I got to see who didn't play and who did play because, like I said,
I don't want to.
Play 61.
See, the, this is four or more.
This is what I'm saying.
It's niggas who just be on this list that's not making the cut because of the games they miss.
That's two people right there that I think should be on the list because of them missing a certain.
And listen, I like this.
I like that they have to make the rule to make the list.
But if you get LeBron play five more games and you get Anthony Edwards to play four more games,
is Duren on the list?
Come on, man
You get what I'm saying?
Like, come on, let's
Let's keep it a thaw-out
Because the niggas is on the list or what?
Niggas ain't making that list
Anthony Edwards played four more games
And Jalen Brunson, pardon me
And fucking LeBron James
Play another five games
So like I said, I do appreciate them
sticking to their guns with the rules
But some niggas is making it by default.
Damn.
And it's like I can't even disagree with it.
Because then it's like, well, this person couldn't make it.
So let's just put him.
But I don't want to do that to him.
I mean, congratulations.
Yeah.
But, damn.
Congrats, nigga.
But the big asterisk butt.
And I'll leave it at that.
Okay.
So we got this comment by Anthony Edwards.
He spoke on when be getting ejected in like a prior YouTube video.
He said, that niggas like 8, 5 when he spread out.
The rim ain't nothing but 10 feet.
You got to put, dang, he's cursing a lot.
You got to put that bitch so high above the rim.
He's like a statue.
It's so hard to beat them when he's on the floor just because of his defense.
I was so happy that nigga got kicked out.
I hope they suspend him.
I'm going to email them right now.
You know, he speaks very candidly.
But Mace, Bob, do you like those moments from athletes?
Or do you think it's too relaxed?
And what do you think about what he had to say about Wimby?
That is Atlanta at his best.
If you want to know how Atlanta hates on you, that's it right.
He said, yo, he about eight, five, you know, when his hands are up, you know, then he talks about,
he just won him out of there.
It's hard to win against him.
But instead of jumping higher, he just say, you know, get him out of there.
Get that niggas suspended like belly.
I don't like this.
I'm going to drop a dime on this, nigga.
And that's what it seemed like he's saying.
I got to get him out the game.
But this is somebody he's going to be running into.
every year.
So he might as well get the animosity going,
get the rivalry going,
because all roads will lead to Arm Wimby
after this year.
I think that's what we're seeing right now.
Feels me I want to set it,
but I understand it.
I get it, nigga.
But if I'm Wembe and I hear you say,
I'm like this, I got this, this y'all like this,
I got this, nigga.
He panicking.
Yeah, welcome to the terror.
Don't pause, nigga.
I'm going to see you for the next 12 years,
nigga. And I'm going to be
8, 5 every year you see me,
nigga. So I
understand, and like I said, I love
Anthony Edwards' honesty
and how open he is. But me, I want
to set that shit because now you're playing
a mental game to where now
Wimby like,
nigga, all right,
every time I see this,
nigga, if he ain't about to take off and he got to
jump on me, I'm stepping up because I know he's
going to go a different route. He already
He said it's a problem when I came down here
in my second year when I was 22 years old.
I'm gonna date that when I'm 23, 24, 25, 26,
all the way to I'm 37 years old.
I how long they play God willing if they stay healthy.
And use that because we already know
that Anthony Ed was saying,
you wish I get kicked out, nigger?
You wish I'm not on the floor.
This is what you wish it.
So I get why he said it because I love his honesty.
I want to set it because I wouldn't
let a nigga know.
that I have a mental weakness with him in the middle and I'm hoping he's not on the court.
I remember I was getting recruited by man and send her to go to their school and I went
to go see them play it. This used to be a place called City College every Christmas.
They had the Christmas tournament there. And I remember this guy, God bless the death's
name was Carl McRae and he used to just block everybody's shot. He not even won't be
height, but he was a real, real big shot blocker.
And man, I didn't go to the school yet, but the coach Ford had had them shooting like to the sky on the layup line above like shooting, not regular layup, shooting high off the air on the layup line because this dude was a really, really big shot blocker.
And that's what teams are going to have to practice coming forth going against Winby.
You're going to have to put two brooms up in the sky and wave them when you're doing your drills and everything else in practice.
two brooms in the sky, and you're waving them,
because that's what you're going to have to go through.
So it's training they can do to get through this.
I'm not going to act like Wimby's to stop of all stop,
which he's a very big problem on defense.
That's why he got a defense player to hear.
But you have to work around it, man.
You have to deal with this the next 15 years.
Damn.
Shout out of it, man.
But is there an athlete you guys feel like in particular,
you wish you heard more candid thoughts from?
because when you use the word honest, like,
Amman is very honest, and I don't really feel like we see that a lot from athletes.
Is that something that you would want to see more,
or you think, like, they really should steer away from talking about other players
just so freely and just on the net?
I think between Draymond and all the other people that speak,
we got a lot of people talking.
Okay.
And I like Draymond's commentary.
I don't know if we need more.
Okay.
People maybe should just...
Yeah.
I would want to hear Wemby talk more.
Yeah.
Me?
What I think, say I...
So basically, is there any athlete in particular
that you wish was more candid about their thoughts
regarding other players, or you just think, as a whole, they should steer away from it.
The whole thing about it is this, it looks good when you're winning.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
When you're talking and you don't win, it looks like it's a problem.
Same way we've been talking about the last year or two about Paul George podcasting.
And we sit there and say, why is he podcasting?
and then the clip, he's not even playing with the clippers,
and so on and so forth.
And I'm not here to pick on Paul George,
you know, even we're just having fun with the nigg.
I think he had an outstanding career.
I think he's on the tail end of her seriously.
I thought he played really good throughout his career.
But I'm just using him as an example
because he had to nickname Playoff P
and then they renamed them Podcast P
and all this other shit.
When you're winning and you're on social media
or streaming or on Twitch or TikTok
or whatever the case may be,
you look good when you're winning.
When you're not won,
It looks like, yo, you need to get off that and get in practice.
Pause.
So it's a 50-50 thing.
It's one of those situations right after, I believe,
I think it's the Atlanta series, if I'm not mistaken.
It could have been, could have been, yeah, it's the Atlanta series.
I think Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson had put out an episode of their podcast.
And they're like, uh-oh, what are they podcasted for?
They just won one series, y'ya, y'all, y'all.
But now you don't mind it.
They won 11 games in a row.
et cetera, et cetera.
So, excuse me.
