Cam, what's up, man?
Just make it happen.
Hey.
The boys are back in town.
Where do you go get this paraphernalia
from every team in the country?
Basketball, football?
The boys are back in town.
Guy, you know it's not over.
I've been enjoying it.
You think the niggas gonna win tonight?
You gotta be happy while you can.
Shit.
I mean, you know, I would tell you them.
We'll talk about it.
But, you know, I'm just keeping my end of the bargain.
Pause.
I told them if the Knicks win the third game,
that I'll, you know, go get some Knick power for Nellie.
Your manner, your word, basically.
Yeah, I'm keeping my word. You know what I'm saying? paraphernalia. You're a man of your word, basically.
Yeah, I'm keeping my word, you know what I'm saying?
So for the next three tapings,
I gotta have something Nick up,
so they know I kept my word.
All right, I dig it.
You know?
Good, like to see it.
Yeah, we're doing good.
I'm proud of you, Cam.
For what?
What are you proud of me for?
What are you proud of me for?
I'm just proud of you, man What are you proud of me for?
I'm just proud of you, man. You're growing up, man. Thank you. I know this is a setup for something.
This is a setup for something, boy.
No, no. I'm not going to say anything.
I like it. I pause. You know, you're growing up.
I said I was going to mature, and I'm maturing, so, you know, I'm not pushing back my development,
but I would like to talk this stat about something.
We can have a chat.
You wanna have it on air or not?
These are people, might as well.
Nah, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait.
Well, when you're ready, I'm here.
We'll do it another time.
To chat.
Okay, well, you're in really good mood today.
Yeah, man, the Knicks are winning, I'm happy for them, man.
I feel like the cursive come off New York, you know?
I'm really happy about that.
Shout out to Sin City, shout out to Jalen Brunson,
you know, who knows, it could be the new title, damn.
Don't forget the comments.
Look, I'm gonna be honest with you.
Don't, don't jinx it for them, nigga.
I'm telling you, gang.
Nigga, I spoke to my man, my man Josh, shout out to Stephen A.
Nuff you, my man Josh.
He, I spoke to him at four in the morning.
He had just got home the two nights after the Knicks won.
Them people didn't go home.
People didn't go to work.
The Knicks, New York is a, look, let me tell you something.
When Knicks are winning, New York is a good place.
That's why it hasn't been a good place for a long time.
So niggas ain't going home.
Niggas ain't going to work.
Niggas ain't going home.
I spoke to the nigga because we got some business going on.
And he said, yeah, I just got in.
And it was like 6 o'clock in the afternoon the next day.
Yeah, the premature celebration got to stop.
Yeah.
I don't know if you've seen Outside the Garden
when they weren't over there. Yeah, I don't know if you've seen outside the garden when they weren't over there.
Yeah.
I could imagine pedestrians trying to curse cars out.
Do not go in.
Look, man, it's a beautiful place.
Let's just hope and pray it keeps up.
And I think it will, especially when you embrace it.
It's been nothing but good things so far.
Yeah, but, Stax, at least I got a present jersey.
You had an old jersey.
You can't do that, Stax.
But they still won.
They call me the hoodluck charm.
I'll take it.
Hoodluck charm is crazy.
What hood?
I don't know.
I'm from the gated community streets,
but I'm willing to accept it.
Let me tell you something.
The Boston is favorite tonight.
By four.
Well, should we move to Jersey?
I'm just saying, I'm just telling you.
I don't know if we should move to Jersey.
They haven't been favorite.
Don't get it fucked up.
Boston has been favorite most of the series.
So that doesn't really mean them,
but I'm just saying that we'll get to it in a minute,
but you know, pardon me, no Tatum
for them to still be favorites.
And shout out to Tibbado, man.
Shout out to Tibbado.
What we talking about, Starr?
Yeah, we're gonna start with the Thunder.
We'll get back to the Knicks, Celtics,
what they kind of have to figure out.
But yeah, the Thunder beat the Nuggets 1-12 to 1-0-5.
So OKC leads the series 3-2.
So Mase, how do you feel about the way this series is going?
Yeah, I mean, when you think of the Thunder versus the Nuggets,
I'm really kind of upset because this is a team
that I was expecting.
I wanted to introduce them to Title Town.
I looked over their application.
They had won championship.
It doesn't look like they're gonna get the second one.
I wanted to see Russell Westbrook win.
I wanted to see him go further than this
and actually be able to play and get that final ring.
But it just doesn't seem like it's gonna happen.
It seemed like, you know,
it just seemed like they got, okay got OKC got other plans, man.
They're not.
It seemed like Shay Giltries.
I mean, SGA is just really different.
You know, pause.
I thought he was good.
I always hear Killer talk about him.
I watched his game, you know, just several games, but I would always turn it off because
OKC is not like my type of team.
But as I start watching the game, I'm like, yo, he's really dominating this,
this this league.
And this is a great thing to watch, even to watch him do that
from coming from Canada is a brilliant thing.
So I'm really excited just to see them get to the next round,
because it seemed like Ant-Man will be there waiting
and we'll find out who's really gonna be the face
of the NBA.
Cause these two players are definitely young guards
that could do a lot of things.
And it can't be two.
I remember they used to always play this song,
somebody gotta win and somebody gotta lose.
And that's what we're gonna watch.
win and somebody got to lose and that's what we're gonna watch.
Oh, yeah. Listen, man.
I watched this whole game.
Joke, I'm sorry, man. I'm sorry, Joke.
I'm also like a say is that I'm sorry because this nigga does everything, bro.
Yeah, I don't know if I sat there and watched the game
and I say, yo, what does this nigga not do?
He really should be the MVP the last,
I don't know how many years, bro.
As much as I think SGA deserves it this year,
if Joker got it, I wouldn't even be mad a little bit.
The year Joe LMB got it, only reason to me he got it
is because Joker missed like the last eight to 12 games
with an injury.
This kid does everything.
This game...
How do... What am I gonna say about this game?
I'll just keep thinking.
Joker had some spectacular spin around three-point shit.
Yeah.
I couldn't believe what I was watching
when I seen this shit.
They was down, I think, five or six.
This nigga in the game started to maybe get out of hand.
This nigga hit a 360 on his toes,
three-pointer off one leg, Like, I'm sorry, bro.
I'm sorry, that's all I can say that I'm sorry.
When you finish with 44 and 15,
and then he would have more assists,
but y'all niggas is not knocking down shots.
All I can do is say sorry,
and all I can do is applaud OKC, and especially Shay.
You know, this is a real, you know how we sit there I can do is applaud OKC, and especially Shay.
You know, this is a real, you know how we sit there and say the stars aren't showing up,
and the superstars aren't doing
what they're supposed to be doing?
This is a series where the superstars
are dueling against each other.
Not saying that everybody else is not participating,
but you're watching SGA go get 30, 32, 33, 34.
31.
I'm just saying throughout the series.
He's doing what he has to do.
The joker has to do more than what he has to do.
The end of the first half,
Denver's up 11, 10 or 11.
Going to the second half, then what happens?
They don't fucking sustain the lead
and then end up being up by two at halftime.
You come out, the end of the third quarter,
they're up 11 and then they go on another run.
Five minutes left, something like that.
Five, six minutes left.
Denver's up again, 11 points.
And then they let OKC go on another eight, nothing run.
Like, yo, where is the defense?
The threes got out, yo.
Yo, son of y'all be dirty.
Son of y'all gotta stop.
Y'all niggas is not, everybody is not Steph Curry.
Everybody's not DL Ellis.
Y'all don't even know DL Ellis.
Everybody's not Reggie Miller.
Everybody is not Ray Allen.
Like yo, y'all these coaches, and I'm blaming the coaches. Everybody is not Ray Allen. Like, yo, y'all know these coaches.
And I'm blaming the coaches.
I'm blaming the coaches.
And especially, I know we're not talking about
Joe Mazzullo can't coach until further notice.
Until further notice.
He's just, he's just inherited a good team.
Brad Stevens, E-Mate, and you took some niggas in.
You trashed, nigga.
Until I see you some, we'll get to that.
Let's stick to this before I even get to that.
But this game was a duel, we'll get to that. Let's stick to this, probably even get to that.
But this game was a duel and it was about runs.
Denver going to run, OKC going to run,
and OKC went on their runs at the right time.
Which Jamal Murray had a decent, real decent game.
We've seen Jamal Murray get 50 in playoffs games,
but he had a decent game.
But when I watched this whole game,
and I'm not trying to, and I'll get the,
okay, see you in a minute, I'm just on Denver right now,
is niggas let this man, Joker, do everything.
It's to the point where Joker takes the ball out
after the team scores.
The point guard gets it, whoever it may be,
and they give it back to Joker
to bring the ball up and run the play.
Since when the center, and I'm not saying we're not
in the new NBA, the center takes the ball out
after Maybasket, get it back, and sends everybody
up the floor.
Murder, when they do that, like, you get what I'm saying?
Imagine, just put this into context.
Joyle and Bede or Shaq.
Shaq, there you go.
Yo, Kobe get the ball, give it back to Shaq,
and Shaq bring the ball up and tell niggas
and wave everybody away.
Wave everybody off and start running the offense.
Joker got to do everything, man.
I feel really bad for the Joker.
I don't think this series is off by a little bit.
This series been spectacular.
It's been really a slugfest,
but get Michael Porter Jr. the fuck outta here.
Pack that nigga up, my nigga.
I was definitely about to say that.
I almost made one Cal Cousman at this point.
Yeah. At this point.
Chris Mel- Yo, pack that nigga up, my nigga.
You shooting air balls with three minutes left.
You're not touching the rim.
Two air balls, one didn't even touch.
Yo, my nigga, pack that light-skinned nigga up.
Send that nigga back where he's at and get him.
You know where they need to go?
For real, three-man tournament.
I don't know where the third nigga gonna be.
Maybe they could get my nigga Gilly.
Eh.
Michael Porter Jr., Gilly, and Ben Simmons.
Call Ice Cube.
That's where y'all niggas belong, my nigga.
Y'all niggas is 6'10 light-skinned,
wasted time and talent, my nigga.
Move out niggas way off the roster spot, my nigga.
Six, 10, light skin niggas ain't doing nothing, my nigga.
You, yo.
What you want them to do, rebound and give it to Gilly?
Yeah, Gilly could shoot.
Gilly could shoot.
She shoot better than both them niggas.
I tell you that much.
Michael Porter Jr. and I put,
I put a hundred thousand on Gilly shooting
better than Michael Porter Jr. And especially Ben Simmons,
I bet the house on, better than Ben Simmons.
I bet the house on that.
But at the end of the day,
y'all niggas is wasting niggas' time,
especially Michael Porter Jr.
I know we just threw Ben Simmons in there
because they both 6'10", they both light-skinned,
and they both ain't shit.
You know, I really wish the nigga would just pack it up because you were a niggas' way. because they both six-ten, they both light-skinned, and they both ain't shit.
I really wish the nigga would just pack it up because you in niggas way.
And then from game to game,
it's hard to tell who you're gonna be
because Michael Porter had a good game in the series,
one good game.
But then you sit there and you say,
okay, who are we putting in the fourth quarter?
Is it gonna be Russell Westbrook or Michael Porter Jr.?
And then you sit there and it's like,
damn, Russ is not making shots.
They shot the same thing last night.
They both shot one for seven.
So it's pick your poison on either one
and I'm who you wanna leave it for the fourth.
Yeah, Russ had more than him though.
Yeah, foul shots, but if we talking about from the field,
they both shot one for seven from the field.
But the point being is pick your poison.
Leave one day, cause Russell Westbrook had good games
this series as well.
But it's no consistency outside the joke
and not even Jamar Murray being consistent.
It's terrible.
Now back to OKC, great win, way to stay in there,
way not to give up when you're down double digits.
Everybody contributed around the superstar,
Shea Gilder's Alexander.
You got Chad contributed.
Look, if I'm not mistaken, everybody in the starting lineup,
if I'm not, yeah, exactly what I was suspecting.
All the starters are in double digits.
It's a balanced attack, 14, 18, 15, 12 points.
Everybody outside of SGA.
SGA finished with 31.
Then the bench, Alex Caruso, he's very underrated.
He's a champion. People forget that he won a championship
in the bubble with the Lakers.
He knows what it takes to win a championship.
That's who Denver needs next year.
Yeah, that's a good point.
He's, and I don't think OKC gonna get rid of him.
Don't make no sense, especially if they win this series,
but then again, who knows what the fuck is going on
in the NBA like right now with all this shit happening.
But way to win OKC, stay gutsy, stay in there.
And like I said on a previous show,
OKC is the number one defense this year,
so they're gonna pick up defense tenacity
and so on and so forth.
Everybody was talking about how the Joker
haven't shot well, under 40%, it's just 39%,
but they be like,
it's under 40, you know how they try to make us stand up.
But that's still decent for some people,
but for him, he has a high standard, it wasn't good.
So he turned it up on the number one defense,
you only have 44, 15 on the number one defense,
and not only that, he would have double digits assist
if niggas knocked their shots down.
But we're not gonna down,
what I'm not gonna do is just keep down in Denver,
but I'm gonna give praise to OKC for standing there
and not giving up when the game was tight.
Yeah, you just, you can't have 19 points in the playoffs
and definitely in the fourth quarter win.
You're just not gonna win.
You gotta put up more than at least 25 points each quarter,
especially when you're in the West Coast. The West Coast is a run and gun system and teams that
could put up a lot of points. So when you look at the stats, like they go 28, they got 28,
then they get to one quarter where they have 34, I think 30 or 34. Yeah. 30. And then you get to the fourth quarter and have 19. Come on.
You can't do that. Not in winter championship. So you,
you look at a team like, okay, see that,
that that proves that they got that defense that when it was time to do it,
they locked down, they made sure they challenged every shot.
They hit the rebounds and that's another thing people don't focus on a team that normally rebounds
the best is going to win the series.
And I want to start keeping a record of that.
So I know you said you don't want to keep downing Denver, but you pose a really
good question about pick your poison.
So I'm curious as to which one you guys would rather have based
on how they've been playing.
So when we look at Michael Porter Jr.
versus the Thunder,
he had two points, four rebounds,
then eight points, five rebounds, 21 points,
eight rebounds, three points, nine rebounds,
two points, four rebounds, and then Westbrook had
18 points, two rebounds, 19 points,
one rebound, eight points, one rebound,
six points, three rebounds, four points, four rebounds.
At this point, who would you rather have,
Mace Westbrook or Michael Porter Jr.?
For me personally, Russell Westbrook,
because at least you know what you're gonna get.
You know what you're gonna get.
Even if he doesn't play well, his effort is gonna be there.
Some players, like Michael Porter Jr. is definitely better at this point,
but sometimes it's not about talent.
Like Killer said, the best ability is availability.
And when you got somebody that's always injured
or not sure if they're going to play
or not sure what player is going to play,
it's just you'd rather just know what you're dealing with.
Yeah, I'm not gonna sit there and say
Michael Porter Jr. is better than Russell Westbrook
at this point.
I don't give a fuck what the age difference is.
Nigga ain't even playing good, but it's whatever you like.
You know, I'm not even gonna say that,
but I totally, 100% agree with Mesa's there.
You know, regardless of anything,
Russell Westbrook's engine is not gonna turn off.
Whether he's playing good, whether he's playing bad,
whether he's making shots, whether he's missing shots,
the effort is gonna be 1,000%.
It was one time this nigga flew across damn near the foul line to get a rebound.
It's like, god damn, this nigga flying to get a rebound.
So if you're asking who I'm gonna pick,
it's a hundred percent Russell Westbrook
because I have to agree with Mace wholeheartedly,
his effort is not gonna ever stop.
Sometime to me, his production is because of
how much he cares, how fast he's going, how much he wants to win.
And sometimes that, how would I say it?
I don't want to, I don't know exactly how I feel.
More of the story is the shit he be doing,
he be making a mess because he too hype.
He runs too fast, so he's doing 2,000 mile an hour. Erratic. Yeah, he's erratic because he too height. He's too, he runs too fast. So he's doing 2000 mile an hour.
Erratic.
Yeah, he's erratic because he wants to win.
Now there you go.
He's erratic because he wants to win that bad.
Anything Russell Westbrook does is trying to win.
Whether he's not hitting the rim sometimes,
you know, whether he misses a shot,
whether he throws a bad pass,
it's all in the sake of winning.
Michael Porter Jr., some of these jump shots,
I just don't even know.
Cause you know niggas be, you know what it is,
murder, sometimes niggas be trying to look pretty
on the jump shots when they do a look
and kick their leg out so established and all that shit.
Nah.
I be saying.
You need baskets, man.
Yeah, yeah.
You need baskets.
Nobody got time for that.
All that kick your leg out so it look pretty and all that,
we need buckets, nigga.
Stata said you had two points one game
and three points another game.
Six, 10 equals 10 points no matter what.
You're right under the basket.
I done, look, Murda, you asked me the other day.
Six, 10 equal 10?
Yeah, six, 10 should equal 10, man. You told me the other. Six ten equal ten. Six ten should equal ten.
You told me the other day, if I was six six,
what would I be doing?
Nigga, I'd be down there.
First of all, off a rebare, all these niggas,
all this shit, trying to shoot a layup.
I'm trying to break a nigga's fingers,
paws on the rim.
If I'm under there six ten, I get a rebare.
Nigga, I don't give a fuck if I'm under there, 6'10", I get a rebound, rrrr, ah, nigga, I don't give a fuck
if I'm missing that, man.
I'm 6'10".
The basket is 10 feet.
So that some of these niggas got,
let's use, for example.
Wingspan. Wingspan.
I don't know where his wingspan is,
but let's just say it's 6'10",
or let's just say seven feet.
So that means, that means let's,
cause your body is there,
so let's just say one of your arms is three feet.
Two and a half feet.
So if you, let's round it off to seven.
If you're 6'10", your arm is two feet to it.
So you're fucking, fucking nine feet without jumping.
What are we doing?
Mr. Leonard, do the show and throw it out for three.
You're 6'10 under the basket.
That's how Charles Smith used to be on the Knicks.
That was exactly the same move.
And he caused them a championship one year.
Dumb shit.
Another time Patrick Ewing, this time at the Knicks,
we start out, Patrick Ewing, instead of dunking,
he come through finger rolling,
fuck the whole play all up.
This is the shit that happens with the Knicks.
Niggas are seven feet at the basket trying to jelly.
What are you doing?
What are you doing?
I'd rather have Russell Westbrook, 100%.
Okay, well said guys.
So an important game for the Pacers
and they got it done.
They eliminated the Cavs
and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals
after beating the Cavs 114-105.
So Mace, one thoughts on the game and then how shocked are you
that the Pacers won four out of the five games for this series?
Oh, man. I'm not really that surprised.
I was telling you guys from the first game that I saw Indiana play,
I said, this looks like a championship team.
I'm not calling them a championship team but we say this game after game, day after day.
Each time we get together we start talking about the NBA. The name that keeps
coming up is the Indiana Pacers. Why? They're the team that looks the most like
most complete. They're the team that looks like they're they're firing on all
cylinders the front court is playing well the back court is playing well the
bench is coming off off off the bench you know hitting shots and big shots
playing on a level of starters and when you got a team playing like that and you
got the you got a future Hall of Fame coach and Rick Carlisle, this
is just what's going to happen.
I think because they didn't have Garland, there was certain things that they weren't,
Cleveland just wasn't able to do.
They put the ball in and Donovan Mitchell hands a little bit too much, not that he couldn't
get it done, but you need that sprint up the court to just
keep everybody honest.
If they would have had that speed pause from Garland, then it would have made that series
a little different.
But I think not having them the first two or three games kind of set the tone.
And once somebody get confidence that I can beat you, I could beat you on your home court,
I could beat you at Indiana, I think it was just a foregone conclusion you can't let somebody get up 3-1 and think they're
not gonna go for the kill like anybody would and and hopefully Cleveland be
back next year but this is something I want y'all to pay attention to I
remember Tatum said this and I'll save it for later but you when you have the
opportunity to do it, pause,
you gotta make it happen.
And this was a cavalier season.
I wanna go on the record.
This was a cavalier season.
There's no way they thought
that they would be out second round.
They thought they would at least make it
to the Eastern Conference Finals,
and injuries are part of the game.
Yeah, man, I just felt so bad watching this game, man.
The injury bug caught Cleveland at the wrong time, man.
I watched this shit,
because as much as we complain about players
not being gutsy, not participating because of a toe,
because of a finger, because of whatever,
we're just all fans and analysts and so on and so forth
observing, knowing what we would try to do,
but you can't put yourself on that level
if you've never been on that level.
I just know that when we used to play
and we never played on a professional level,
so I can't talk as a professional,
we would try and fight through the injuries.
But watching Darius Garland in this game last night, I was like, God damn, man. You know, this nigga got hurt a couple fight through the injuries, but watching Darius Garland this game last night,
I was like, God damn, man.
You know, this nigga got hurt a couple times in the game,
limping up the floor,
couldn't even make it back on defense,
grabbing his back, grabbing his foot.
And I was like, damn, man.
I was just sitting here teasing this nigga
about a toe injury, and he's out there.
He went out there after, you know,
nigga said he need to get out there,
and this man was limping up and down the floor,
and I was like, fuck, B, this nigga need to come out the game.
He would come out the game,
then actually come back in the game.
And I was like, this nigga's tough, bro.
So, Darius, if you see what I said,
I just want to apologize to you
and not take your injuries for granted,
because you definitely was a warrior last night
trying to fight through those injuries as well.
Secondly, to Donovan those injuries as well.
Secondly, to Donovan Mitchell, another person,
we see him on the bad wheel the game before last,
and he came out last night and was limping.
It was to the point where, listen, Cleveland was up
at some time in the late third quarter, early fourth quarter,
I don't remember off the top of my head,
and they were up by about six points,
and Donovan Mitchell was limping up and down the floor
to where he had to get out the game,
go back to the locker room.
And I was like, damn, his night is done.
As soon as he got out the game, Indiana went on a run.
He turned a six point deficit into a five, six point lead.
Then out the locker room, here comes Donovan Mitchell.
I don't know what the fuck they be shooting them niggas
up with back there.
Whatever that's horse, steroids, whatever the fuck they shooting shooting them niggas up with back there. Whatever that horse, steroids, whatever the fuck they shooting them,
he came back jumping back out after he just was out.
But it didn't last long. We seen whatever medicine they gave him or whatever.
It didn't last that long.
But he did wheel them back from a deficit in the fourth quarter,
five, six minutes later, to tie the game up.
And I was like, yo, this nigga's amazing.
He ended up finishing with 35 points,
but he was on a bad wheel.
Garland was on a bad wheel.
Mobley, he looked pretty good.
But Donovan Mitchell and Daris Garland,
that's what you say when niggas be like,
to the wheels fall off, they literally play
until the wheels fell off, man.
And Donovan Mitchell especially, to come back out the locker room and still get
about eight, 10, 12 points after you was injured, you know, hit phenomenal threes.
He missed three.
He, I found on a three point play.
I knew when he missed all three of them, three free throws, he was hurt.
And I knew it was pretty much done for Cleveland, but I do want to give it up to
Cleveland.
Uh, they tried, they just caught the injury bug
at the last, pardon me, at the worst time of the season,
which is the second round of the playoffs.
Back to the Pacers, the Pacers look phenomenal.
Tyrese Halliburton wants his name.
I ain't gonna say back because he ain't been like that,
like that, but he like niggas gonna stop playing
with him right now.
He hit five threes in the first half.
He look phenomenal. He look five threes in the first half. He looked phenomenal.
He looked like he wanted the problem.
Not just on offense,
he was making key plays on defense as well.
But Indiana looks like Mase just said,
the most balanced team.
You have to think about this also.
They not only player championship experience,
we have coaching championship experience.
We see Akam as a player and Rick Carlisle as a coach. We always sit here talking about Emey Doaker wanting revenge
because of what they did to him in Boston.
But we don't think about Rick Carlisle
because he's in Indiana.
We don't think about that that's the person
who got the Dallas Mavericks their one and only championship.
We don't talk about it because he's a professional
and the way Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks handled it was very professional, saying, their one and only championship. We don't talk about it because he's a professional
and the way Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks handled it
was very professional, saying when he left Dallas,
it was mutual agreement for him to split.
Niggas know him and Luca wasn't getting along.
Niggas is like, and he one of them niggas like,
yo, listen, man, I got us the chip.
Do you want us to get another one?
Well, you want to listen to what this nigga talking about?
This fat, out of shape, drunk nigga.
I know he nice and all that.
But listen, I get so dunked.
And they say, well, we're gonna have to go
with the fat, out of shape.
The nigga who's making first team, all NBA every year.
So they made, they split mutual.
But we all know what that was about.
Rick Carl's an outstanding coach.
And if, as much as like I said,
we talk about people like E-mate, if you think Rick Carlisle outstanding coach. And as much as, like I said, we talk about people like E-Mate,
if you think Rick Carlisle don't want revenge,
and not just revenge on Dallas,
revenge on saying, nigga, I'm one of them coaches,
we have to think about this, that Indiana,
this is, you know, this is their second trip back to the Eastern Conference Finals.
You know, that Boston just was an outstanding team last year,
and with their time.
Indiana may feel that same way right now.
Okay, we know what we went through last season.
We know our season wasn't the best season
but it wasn't the worst season.
We're right back where we was at this time last year.
We knew the mistakes we made and we gonna see what happens.
And I think Rick Carlisle, like I said,
not against the Mavericks,
but I think he's out to also prove,
I'm one of them niggas, man.
And ain't a lot of coaches that won two championships,
let alone two championships with two different franchises.
Yeah, and this, they're on first full season with Siakam.
So they probably think they're ready for the Knicks
and the changes that the Knicks have made if they win.
Well, what I'll say about that is this,
and the Knicks have to be,
like I said, we're not gonna skip over the game tonight,
but you have to think about this.
Last year on the Knicks,
the Knicks played Indiana,
it wasn't the Eastern Conference Finals,
it was the semi-conference finals going to
the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks took the pace of seven games
where everybody hurt.
Mitch Robinson was hurt, OG was hurt,
Jalen Brunson got hurt in that series.
So if you took Indiana to seven games where everybody,
at least four or five players in your starting lineup hurt
and you went seven, and if they win this series
against Portland, you have to feel good if they win this series against one,
you have to feel good.
You have to say, yo, we're healthy this year.
I mean, nobody's 100% healthy,
but they're looking really, really good.
Nobody's really in that much pain.
They got they full starting five available.
No high-wills knock on wood, don't want jinx to Nixon.
But if you take them seven games
with four out of your five starters hurt,
and you losing seven and everybody's healthy,
Nix might be like, we got these Nix, we got these Nix.
Would you put Coach Cam on it?
On what?
Would you put Coach Cam on a Nix?
I'm not putting Coach Cam on this series
that they in there.
It's just.
I'm not, you gon' catch me with the banana
and the tailpipe pause.
I'm not going for it, bro.
When it happens, I'll be available.
We'll talk about Code Cam.
I'm not done.
Code Cam is not putting nothing or nothing
until this series is over.
Valid.
So back to the Caz really quick,
cause they were on such a high,
especially during the regular season,
and to kind of see them exit this way.
Yeah.
So you said Cleveland will be back next year.
Is injury really your only main concern,
or is there something else that you feel like
kind of needs to be worked out?
Yeah, I think injury was my concern,
because I think they started relying on Ty Jerome
a little bit more than they would have had to
if Garland is there.
You know, when you bring Ty Jerome off the bench,
and he start, you know, going and creating his place,
it becomes a beautiful thing.
Pause when he's doing that, when you got Garland
as the first option at the one, but then when, you know,
when you shift all the weight on to a player,
is the same way with Golden State or Buddy Hill, you know,
it's great as a third option, but when you start trying
to make it the first option, you just can't,
it's just haven't been proven that that weight can be carried at this point, but we're looking trying to make it the first option, you just can't, it's just haven't been proven
that that weight can be carried at this point.
But we're looking forward to him doing it next year
with more confidence, more season under his belt.
He could be a really good prospect.
Any exact questions to add to this one?
Yeah, is injury really your only main concern
for the Cavs looking into next season?
They're shooting too many threes.
Yeah, I mean, the Cavs, let's be realistic.
I like Darius Garland a lot.
I think he's tough in everything.
And I like Eric Mobley, but we need a real second go-to.
And I'm not saying Garland isn't a great point guard,
but outside of Donovan Mitchell,
if Donovan Mitchell's off the floor,
who can you rely on to be like, get me a bucket?
And Darrys Garland's a small point guard,
he's fast, he's witty, I would love him on my team.
But that's not a go-to to get me a bucket
when I'm off the floor.
Who is the person that you go to to say,
I need a bucket when Donovan Mitchell is not on the floor?
And I think that's more of the Cavs problem
than anything else, my personal opinion.
You have to think about this.
Let's look at their regular season.
You got coach of the year, Atkisson,
even though I wouldn't have voted for him,
to me, I would have picked bigger staff from Detroit.
Because you have a team, you sit there
and you acquire Atkisson as the coach.
What did he do?
And I said this before the playoff started.
You inherited a team that went to the semi-conference
finals last year.
And what did you do against this year?
Do it again this year.
The same thing that they did last year.
You didn't do anything.
So you already inherited a team that went to the
semi-conference finals last year and he's coaching here. Biggest staffer, they inherited. And I remember the guy, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game,
the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, the guy that was in the game, as much as we talked about Detroit last year, it was nothing positive whatsoever. Everything was downhill.
Everything was saying, when is Cade Cuddeham going to show up?
Everything is saying, why are they giving away...
Chicken and...
Chicken nuggets and fries to come to the game.
Why are they giving away movie tickets
if you come to the game,
you get to go to the movies for free?
Everything we were talking about with Detroit was downhill.
For them to get a 6-E, 9-in, playing a player,
I don't know who the fuck voted Agason to be the coach of the
year, but they obviously bumped their motherfucker head.
He inherited a team that was already in the playoffs.
But back to the Cavaliers, let's think about this regular season.
You got the coach of the year.
You go on a 15-game winning streak to start the season.
You got the defensive player of the year,
with Eric Mobley.
You have a bunch of individual stats.
Two, three all-star starters on the Cavaliers.
And this is the part of the year that we all talk about.
It looks great.
But what are you gonna do in the playoffs?
The regular season is something to see.
You're seeding in a home court advantage
throughout the playoffs.
And you had home court advantage,
but they had the injury bug.
But to me, it isn't just about the injury bug.
It's about who's gonna be that person
when Donovan Mitchell is off the floor.
And I don't know if they have that person.
We got a great defender in Mobley,
which I don't think he would have won
if Wimby was still playing.
Darius Garland, great point guard.
Well deserved to be an All-Star this year,
but I need a bucket.
When I need a bucket, gonna be that person on the Cavaliers.
And to me, that's what they're missing.
Yeah, this game, they needed a third person
because Mobley had, I think about 20, what, 23, 24 and 11.
Well, the thing about it, Murda,
it isn't about not saying that Mobley can't score.
I'm not accusing him with that.
Can he say, get out the way, I need a bucket?
He's a center.
That's what I'm talking about.
Like, and like you said, he had an outstanding game.
And for his position, he's great.
Like I said, I think he's a, he wasn't the starter,
but he's an all-star this year.
Well-deserved, and well-deserved
with Wimby being our defensive player of the year.
What I'm saying is, what are you gonna do
when nobody's on the floor?
I need a bucket move.
It's like what we talked about with Jimmy Butler.
This is what they bought Jimmy Butler
and they do a go to state and when he's not doing it,
it's like yo, why did we bring you here?
Okay, we brought you here to compliment stuff,
we understand that. But we also brought you here to compliment Steph, we understand that.
But we also brought you here to get a bucket
when he's not playing.
Ain't your nickname Jimmy Buckets, nigga?
And get the fucking bucket.
Yeah, play off Jimmy.
Play off Jimmy PB and J, Jimmy Buckets,
all these nicknames and you finish with 14 points
when Steph isn't playing.
We brought you here because we need a basket
when Steph is not on the floor.
We all know that Eric Mobley or Jimmy Butler
or Draymond Gray or all these other role players,
and I don't want to diminish Draymond
because he's more of a role player,
but I'm just saying in general,
we know we could get buckets
when the main person's on the floor
because they're going to attract their attention.
We know that Donovan Mitchell may get double-teamed. We know this stuff may get double-teamed.
What, so y'all guys' buckets should come easy
if you're getting double-teamed.
Ant-Man gets triple-teamed.
So when you're getting double and triple-teamed,
it's easier for you to get a basket.
I need somebody on my team when I'm the star player
to get me baskets when I'm on the bench.
So as much as I love Mobley and I think he's great,
Donovan Mitchell was on the floor.
You should be getting some rebounds.
He's gonna get double team.
You should be getting some open pass looks.
When everybody's on the floor and it's five on five
and I need a basket, if I'm the Cleveland Cavaliers
and Donovan Mitchell's not on the floor,
who am I turning to?
And that's the real question for Kay.
Yeah.
Great question.
And I'll just add, sometimes it doesn't translate,
which is not an excuse, because even right now,
Max Streus, and I'm not putting him as like a first,
second, third option, but he's going viral right now
because he shared with the TNT reporter that before the game,
he texted his teammates saying,
if you don't believe, don't show up to work.
And he finished the game 0-9 from the field.
So.
Not just 0-9, zero points.
Zero points, y'all, zero points.
Me texting out.
Yeah, that was his words of wisdom and encouragement.
So it just didn't go very well for them.
Jamis Winston.
So, encouragement.
But it shows on different ways for different people.
Shout out to Jamison.
For sure.
Okay, we're gonna go to break. When we return,
we will discuss the Knicks and the Celtics next steps. Don't go anywhere. Got you feeling like option. Maybe I'm on my own problem, babe.
She's out of here and I don't know what's happening.
And me won't fall. Oh, oh, dealing with this thing called trust.
But she really think I might want to be free.
Welcome back. So tonight, the Knicks will play the Celtics.
Underdog has Derek White at 29 and a half points, rebounds and
assists. You have him higher, lower mace. Lower. Come on.
This is New York, New York. Big city of dreams. I don't know.
That's a good one to be honest with you because they had them
at three, three and a half threes last game
and they came out smoking and they had six threes
in that game.
He had three threes in the first like four minutes.
I was like damn, that nigga fucking the ticket up.
I'm gonna go high, you're gonna have to do more.
It's point three, bounds under six, right? Yeah. Yeah, they're gonna have to do more. It's points rebounds on assist, right?
Yeah, they're gonna have to do more
without Tatum being there.
Okay, Jay. Oh yeah, I forgot
Tatum is not playing, yeah, it's gonna be higher.
Okay, Jalen Brown's at 30 and a half points
and assist, you have him higher, lower, cam.
Should be higher, but who the fuck knows
what these niggas?
Beijing done got to the nigga brain, man.
I don't know what the fuck going on with these niggas.
But I'm gonna give Jalen Brown, put it like this,
if y'all expect to have a chance, it better be high.
What they really better hope is poor Zingas is playing.
That's what they better hope.
I'm gonna give Jalen Brown higher though.
Yeah, higher.
May said he was Batman, let's see.
Yeah, I mean, he's Batman,
and when he's scoring more than Tatum,
they win a championship.
So sometimes you gotta know what role you gotta accept
in order to be at Title Town.
And now I wanna say this,
because this is the series
that we really need to think about.
Kat is at 31.5 points and rebounds.
You have a higher lower mace.
Higher, man, higher.
I'm going lower.
Okay, make sure y'all download the underdog app
and you can make your picks too.
So it is confirmed.
I'm going with the Knicks on everything, man.
This is team, man.
Killer gotta come back home, man.
Nigga said you ain't been home, Killer.
You gotta come back home, man.
Papa was a rolling stone, man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I lay that hat, man.
Yeah.
My house is earth, nigga.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I like that.
So many thoughts.
Yeah.
Okay, well now we're gonna talk about,
I guess your least favorite team now.
Now I can talk, now I can talk is okay.
Yeah.
All right, well, you know.
What's the question, Statt?
There was no question, yeah, I was gonna let him talk.
Oh, my bad, I ain't forgot,
we got a statement, my bad guy, mama.
Nah, guys, Statt, no.
Nah, the floor is yours, you gotta talk.
Yeah, I was saying that, you know, when Jalen Brown is the leader of the team, they won
a championship.
And I remember, you know, Tatum saying something a while ago.
Shouts out to Tatum and prayers up for him.
I really hope he get well really fast.
But this is what I was saying a couple years ago, maybe a year ago, when they were saying
that they got time.
I don't know if you remember that.
Yeah, I remember that.
We young, we got time.
When he hit the floor, that was the first thing I thought about when he was on the floor.
When you're thinking you have time to do something, you don't have time.
When you get the opportunity to do it, that's the only time to make sure it happen.
Because you just don't know what the future holds.
So when you get an absolute shot, you gotta make it count.
You gotta get that championship when you can.
Because every year, some teams get better,
new people come in, there's new focus,
and you know, people only remember the last thing you did.
That is very true.
And there's a lot of different layers to that, which we're going to get into that
because you bring up really good points.
So we now know that it is confirmed that Jason Tatum ruptured his Achilles tendon
and underwent surgery.
So I know we always joke about Superman and Batman, but in Tatum's absence, when
looking at the future, looking into next season for the Celtics. Do you guys think Jalen Brown can step it up
and take that role?
You kind of started speaking upon that,
or do you think somebody else is gonna have to fit
into the role?
Yeah, I think Jalen Brown definitely has to take that role
until Tatum comes back.
And again, prayers up to Tatum.
I know a lot of times we play around,
but tearing your Achilles is not a play plate thing.
It's one of the hardest things, I think,
for an athlete to come back,
because you need that first step,
the explosion, pause, and all of that.
But I think he'll be able to do it.
And I think Jalen Brown will be able to sustain the team,
and not by himself.
It could be done by committee. If you get Porzingis back, I think italen Brown will be able to sustain the team and not by himself. It could be done by committee.
If you get Porzingis back,
I think it's still a good game if Porzingis is back.
I don't think it's a definite thing that the Knicks win
if Porzingis is playing.
But if he's not there and Tatum is not there,
then it's gonna be an all night celebration.
Knicks will be on the roof shooting.
It'll be like 4th of July.
Yeah, listen, I don't know what is going on with Poisonous,
but you see it game to game.
And to me, it's not a cold or flu or anything else,
because you could have got a flu shot, medicine, something.
Something's going on where they're not disclosing
exactly what the illness is.
They keep saying a mysterious illness,
but you see the fatigue, you see when he goes on the bench,
you see him not producing like he produces
in the regular season, you see him not getting minutes
in the second half like he was.
And they're not, without that, to me, even with Tatum,
that was the ringer, so to speak,
to put them over the top, including last year. You think about last year when they went at your poor Zingles And he even with Tatum, that was the ringer, so to speak,
to put them over the top, including last year.
You think about last year when they won that trip,
poor Zinkel was hurt.
He came back right before the playoffs,
had some good games, and willed them
to that championship last year.
I think they only lost two games
in the playoffs last year overall,
but he was the deciding factor.
And we seen how the Knicks been exposing them without him.
First round, they lost the game to Orlando,
but he looked really good.
And then the sickness, whatever it is, came upon him,
and Boston hasn't looked the same since.
I have no idea if Jalen Brown can hold it down by itself,
because you gotta think about this.
To me, the reason why Jalen Brown is so successful
is because of Tatum also.
This is really gonna be one of those situations
where you say, okay, let's see if Jalen Brown
is like that, like that.
Because I totally agree with Mace
as far as last year's concern,
and even this year for that point.
Jalen Brown looked like he needed to be the 1A
and Tatum be the 1B for them to win.
And to Mace's point and credit last year,
that's what it took from the win.
You're the Eastern Conference MVP
and then the finals MVP.
And he deserved that.
But what I'm saying is this,
you gotta realize there's somebody else
that causes attention on that floor.
Without Tatum, the attention goes solely on you.
And let's see what happens when that happens.
Not saying that Drew Holiday doesn't mean nothing,
not saying Derek White doesn't mean nothing,
or poor Zegas, but you are the man right now,
and you're gonna get a lot of attention.
Let's see what happens without Tatum there.
And you got a chance to prove that he's worth
the 324 million that they gave him.
What I'll say is this though,
even I meant to bring it up when we talked about
Cleveland and Indiana.
I've never seen this before,
unless I just missed a few years of playoff experience,
not experience, watching the playoffs throughout the years.
Who keeps blowing 20 point leads, bro?
That happened last night with fucking Cleveland.
Cleveland in the second quarter was up 19 points.
What the fuck is this?
To where you keep blowing 20 point lead?
I've never seen that like it.
And this is what I'm talking about
when I keep talking about shooting threes,
out of bounds, players, and everything else.
You're up 19 points, right?
Or 20 points.
Instead of keep getting deuces, you keep missing threes.
What happens when you miss threes?
When you miss threes, the rebound is long.
So when you get a long rebound,
you're already off to the races on a fast break
to where the other team can score.
The point, yo bro, when you're up 19, 20 points, 22 points, no more threes.
Even if they shooting threes, you go three for two, three for two, three for two, three
for two, three for two, until they get down to about eight points, seven points.
Stop shooting threes when you up 19, 20 points and then you wondering how these 1920 point leads came back.
We done seen it with the Denver series last series.
We done seen this shit happen two times
with the Knicks in Boston.
We seen it happen last night in the St. Cleveland home
playing these games.
19 point leads.
For playing 19 point leads, I never never seen nothing like it.
You ain't murdering?
Yeah, niggas is playing.
Yo, fam, it's one thing being up by 19,
furthermore, we are by 19, it's over.
Yeah.
And that's in the first half.
Up by 19 in the third and fourth quarter and be losing?
Yeah.
Yo, what is that?
That's horrible coaching,
because the coach is supposed to be calling time out,
switching the game, playing up, putting new people in.
If we have 20 points and somebody get six full points
back to back without us playing,
we're ready to call a time out.
And definitely once they get six points,
you're like, man, give me a time out.
Yeah, but you-
Go get him, you know, boss, take him out.
To your point, Murdo, I'll give you an example, right?
And yeah, I agree with you 100%.
Niggas sit there and get, say they up 20,
niggas going at six, eight point run, time out.
They come out time out and shoot a three.
Yo, fuck nigga, this is what got y'all
in this predicament in the first place.
You're up 20, stop shooting three.
I don't care if you wide open for the three.
Go to the basket, get in the offensive.
Do something, my man, because this is not working.
It is too many double digit leads getting blown
game after game after game after game.
We only gotta go 20, let's go 11 points.
Let's go with Denver last night.
You're up 11 at the end of the first half.
You let these things go in an eight, nine over
in the second half. You're up 11 at the end of the first half. You let these things go in an eight, nine over and then in the second half.
You're up 11 points in the fourth quarter.
How are you not sustaining this lead?
And shooting threes is a bailout for the defense.
There you go.
Nobody has to play defense.
It's like you playing a little kid.
You're like, I'm gonna take all the jump shots.
That's how niggas is playing in the NBA, and it's crazy.
So, Boston obviously is gonna have to adjust
to a lot of chains, especially with Jason Tatum being out.
But not to be dramatic, people are saying that they feel like
this is gonna be an end of an era for Boston
as of right now, what they've built so far.
Mace, do you agree with that, or do you feel like,
I don't think I would.
I definitely wouldn't blow up this team.
You just had Tatum to get hurt.
He was on the verge of having a 50-point night.
And he's just a freak accident, you know?
It's not like nobody bumped into him.
Or, you know, like, I remember when Russell Westbrook
got clipped or, or Jama ran and got injured.
This wasn't one of those things.
It was just a freak accident, you know,
and it just happened the way it happened.
And anybody that has ever torn an Achilles
know how that happens.
You just don't see it happen.
You don't see it come in parts.
It's just fire going up the back of your leg.
Yeah, I look, man, that'll be all right.
They just tell you, man, he's 27 years old.
I think Kevin Durant is 30, 32.
I think he might have been 31, 32 when he was killed.
Kevin Durant is still all world right now.
It's about the rehab and making sure you committed to it
and with this new medicine and new technology
and so on and so forth, Jason Tatum should be all right, man.
He's young enough for it.
You think about Kobe, even though Kobe came back
and he necessarily wasn't the same,
Kobe tore his Achilles at 34 years old,
came back when he was 35, still came back.
I'm not saying he was the Kobe before,
but we seen niggas come back and be dominant.
The best example to me is Kevin Durant.
You know, people see Neshton was like,
he not gonna be the same, he not gonna be this person.
But what Kevin Durant did do, more than the other players,
because I did some due diligence on people
who tore their Achilles, a lot of people come back
in nine months, a year after this.
Kevin Durant took two years to come back.
He didn't care about the whole next season, anything else like that. He tookant took two years to come back. He didn't care about the whole next season,
anything else like that.
He took the whole two years to come back.
And maybe that's why he healed and still playing
opposed to Kobe who said,
nah, I'm Kobe Bryant.
I can beat this.
He hit me up.
Yeah, of course.
But what I'm saying is Kobe came back in less than a year.
And like, you know, you sit there and say, I'm Kobe.
Kobe came back, it was up to Kobe,
probably would have played in 60 days.
You know what I'm saying?
Sometime you gotta let that thing heal.
But what I do wanna give Jason Tatum credit for
is because this, this is how much he wants to play.
And when I say that, I mean this.
All morning, people were waiting for the report
on what happened to him.
Yo, we're waiting to see what happened.
What happened to him?
Lower leg injury.
What is the exact injury?
Oh, we're waiting on the test for the results from the MRI.
Nigga, you know the results is right there.
What are we waiting on?
But time that they announced that it was an Achilles,
his surgery was done.
He already got the, but time, So the point being is when they announced
what the injury was, at the same time,
the press put out Jason Taylor went under
successful surgery for torn Achilles
because that's when I'm just like,
how long it take me to come?
Do my shit now.
Get me to the best.
Get me back up to Boston.
Get me under the knife pause.
Let me get the work.
Let them get the work pause
because if this shit take nine months, a year, 60 months,
I might as well wait, not even wait, let's get it done now.
So I give him the testament of not even waiting.
Sometime you hear about these injuries,
like on Thursday he's expected to go surgery,
but by the time we found out what that injury exactly was,
you know we all suspected it would be Achilles,
the surgery was done.
So I take that as Jason Taylor said,
I need to get back out there.
These past six years, I couldn't.
You ever told you Achilles, killer?
No, I told all the ligaments in my ankle though.
That was pretty painful.
Starr, you know about Achilles?
Yeah, I never tore any broken.
Yeah, I told my Achilles, but I just,
I didn't even get surgery.
I just put the boot on and had the cast on.
And they say sometimes without surgery,
it heals even stronger.
That happened to Sin.
Sin was playing sugar-dugger one-on-one out here,
by the fact that he reached it and tore his whole Achilles.
But he didn't have to get surgery either.
Shout to Shug.
Shug had him on the floor,
and he's like, we gotta take nigga to emergency.
Were you was there, Labby?
Yeah.
Yeah, we had to take nigga.
You feel like fire going up your leg.
Don't ever break, don't ever break your,
don't ever get your Achilles torn playing
sugar doogle one on one,
cause you're gonna say he shook you out your Achilles.
He plays serious too.
He's not that good. He's not good. I've seen him do a little.
That's what makes it worse.
He's not good.
Okay, so last thing, we're going to just make this a little learning lesson because I'm
curious on what you guys' advice would be and I like posing the questions in this way.
So, Jaden Daniels' mom, Regina Jackson, spoke on protecting her son from women who prey
on millionaire athletes and responded to the backlash she receives on social media.
She said he's been very acclimated in sports since he was young. Jackson spoke on protecting her son from women who prey on millionaire athletes and responded to the backlash she receives on social media.
She said he's been very acclimated in sports since he was young, but he doesn't know the
business world.
He doesn't know the predators or the vultures that could be out there.
So he feels very comfortable in knowing that not only am I educated and qualified to do
it, I'm also his mom.
So I don't want this to be about her parenting because that's her son. She can, you know, parent however she chooses to parent.
But I'm curious from you guys,
what's some advice you wish you learned sooner
when dealing with women entering this space of fame?
Money.
That's interesting.
Cause what she's basically saying is he's not ready.
She told the whole world he's not ready.
And he might be, he might be a lick, pause.
That's a fact.
That's what she told everybody.
And hindsight, because if you're walking around with him,
they just like, we gotta get him away from his mother.
Once we get him away from his mother, we good.
You go over there and ask for this,
I'm gonna go over there and give him the number, you know?
They're gonna just have the tag team.
But what I think, what I could have learned,
I think we learned everything we needed to know.
By the time we were-
But what do you wish you learned sooner?
I kinda knew everything.
Oh.
What about you, Kip?
I think by the time we was 10,
we saw so much of by the time you get 14, I was 28.
Yeah, by the time I got 21, I was 50 years old.
Well, listen, what I'll say is this before I tell you
about what I learned or shouldn't have learned
about Jalen and his mother.
What I took, and I don't put this in street terms,
I don't mean to be disrespectful about what I'm about to say,
but I took it as she said, this nigga's slow.
This nigga's gonna be, they gonna get this nigga.
So I got to stay by this nigga's side.
Yeah.
This nigga right here, I remember.
He doing her part though.
Yeah, I dig it, I dig it.
Listen, let me tell you something.
This is a true story.
My son, my son was about 11.
And then 11 to 12, maybe 13,
he was still in middle school, maybe seventh grade.
So he comes back from the store,
and this nigga got a shopping cart
full of Valentine's Day candy,
about 15 heart candies, the heart joints.
I said, what are you doing?
You got a little shorty in school and all that?
He said, no, what, I said, what are you doing? You got a little shorty in school and all that? He said, no, why not?
I was gonna give him to all the girls
and pass him out to all of them.
I was like, all right.
I ain't against that.
All of them, I'll see where you're going with it.
You know what I'm saying?
He's like, yeah, yeah.
So, me and his mother
wasn't together at the time.
He come see me on the weekends.
He went home that weekend, that Sunday,
to go to school Monday.
His mother called me and said,
you know what the fuck your son's trying to do?
What the fuck is he talking about?
He going to give all the girls fucking hearts
to school and all this shit.
You knew about this?
I was like, I heard about, I don't really know exactly.
He was like, yeah, this nigga bugging the fuck out,
talking about he giving everybody hearts.
I said, is it really wrong?
Is it really wrong, little Romeo, son?
He's like, he ain't doing it, Kim.
And if you supported this,
I'm telling you now, he's not doing it.
I'm not letting him take one candy to school
for none of the girls.
And I was like, all right, you know,
it didn't work that way.
But I'm just giving you a protective mother's point of view
even though this is a nigga with just heart candy.
This ain't a nigga with 28 million dollars.
You know what I'm saying?
And we're talking about a 11 year old
as opposed to a 24 year old also.
But that's what I get from it.
I get that same vibe.
Like, if it was up to this nigga, he'd be broke right now.
That's what this mother's giving me.
Yeah, that's what she basically saying.
Sometimes you, and you know that,
sometimes you train a child, but then after you train them,
you know they still don't got it.
You know, and you gotta stay around.
Yeah, listen, man.
She said I gotta watch, I'm protecting my investment.
Yeah, 100%.
That's one of those situations.
And I support it.
She might knock on the door and say,
I just slipped a condom under the door.
Make sure you strapped in there.
Listen, and back to something I could have learned.
No, Mays, I just say, made it great.
But Tom, you're 10, you're 14.
When you're 14, you're 28. When you're 28, you're 62 just say made it great, but the time you're telling you're 14,
when you're 14 you're 28, when you're 28 you're 62.
Growing up at home, let me tell people
that not just the streets, or not just women,
and not just anything,
sometimes the best teacher is experience.
It isn't about going to class,
it isn't about what somebody could tell you,
niggas could talk to you till they faces blue
and your ears fall off, and then you still don't listen.
The best time, best thing is experience.
I knock on wood all the time and very, very thankful.
You gotta think about this, right?
And knocking on wood and thanking God as well, 100%.
Mace, multi-selling rapper,
not just that very successful businessman.
Me, multi-sulling, when I say multi,
multi-million sales and music, both of us,
actor, philanthropist, businessman.
I got one kid, he got two.
You know how many kids, we could have been out here,
could have been crazy.
By the same woman.
She could have been wild out here now.
I thank God all the time, she could have
went left a few times now.
Don't pop up tomorrow, Lady Sneeva.
Yeah, that's the truth.
Yeah, but she could have went.
Because we knew what to look out for.
That's the reason I bought it out.
We knew about all of that.
Showing on the condoms, doing all that.
Yeah, exactly.
I go on for that.
I'm going to condom out.
Yeah, exactly.
You know how many times, they're not going to want to get it.
You know how many times girls say,
yo, Kim, I think I'm pregnant.
I said, I don't know about who, I had a vasectomy.
They be like, oh, nah, I wasn about who, I had a vasectomy. They were like, oh, no, I wasn't pregnant.
Never had a vasectomy.
You ain't gonna fool me.
I fooled you.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
All them games the girls play.
Letting a girl give you a condom.
Yeah, exactly.
I think we should use protection.
Right.
Meet me at the hotel.
They booked the room already.
Now I'm changing the room. No, I'm not going in that room that you booked.
You won't get me on tape.
I'll have some niggas run up in here while I'm here.
No, absolutely not.
So thank God, 100% to me, what Mase was trying to say,
and I don't care to speak for him,
but from what I got for what he's saying
and what I'm saying, the best experiences teach us
because,
listen man,
we ain't never had a problem no bitches. Before the music,
you know, the bitches never been a problem.
You know what I'm saying?
That was the last thing was a problem.
They became problems when we started getting some money.
Like yo, get away from a nigga, man.
I nutted, I gotta get back to this money, man.
You know, I remember Mace used to,
in the library, I was always talking about high school.
Mace used to fight girls off for me.
I see Mace walking routes to these gym,
he walk in school that way, he walk in this way.
He ain't nothing, he was just saying,
he was just saying, where you going?
I'm seeing you during period, man. Listen, I'm just saying, where you going? I'm seeing you through a period.
I'm just saying they never really been the problem.
So thank God, and that's like I said,
a lot of shit could've been left,
but thank God that before any success or money,
that we had a couple of drinks, you know what I'm saying?
That's a great point.
Well, there you have it, y'all.
That's all the time that we have for today.
Thank you all for watching.
And as always, it is what it is. Thanks for watching!
