Starting point is 00:00:00 So we supposed to start the podcast. Ready? One, two, three. Ah! I didn't even look at my hands! Right, maybe that's the trick. Not looking at my hands. You go in blind. Go in blind. I mean, because right now all you have to do is just like,
Starting point is 00:00:20 it's like a heat seeking missile. Right. To launch this sensation shit show of ours. That's right. Okay, so Pam's what did we had it with? Okay, here's what I've had it with. I've had it that my perfectly crafted, perfectly every desire I have immediately comes up
Starting point is 00:00:43 on my YouTube algorithm. I mean, it's just like all I have to do is turn it on. All my videos are in a line. They know exactly what I want. My oldest came home from his internship in Houston, and he's been accessing it. And now it's all bullshit on my algorithm. It's totally fucked up.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I can never find anything. I'm having to search like I'm a brand new user. I hate it. I mean, I hate it. Well, I can share with our listener that pumps likes to curate her news. Yes, for her. It is a for me news. I am down the rabbit hole. You want news that feeds your bias. As much as we altize about other news networks being echo chambers, I prefer my very own curated echo chamber. So you have curated the perfect, perfect algorithm. And you're all the sun who you're in the group me for. Yes. 23 years old. Yes. Came home. hijacked your YouTube. Yes. And I'm telling you, botching somebody's algorithm, that is a dagger. That's like bullshit, you know.
Starting point is 00:01:53 And it's like going, you can make your own name. You can do it on yours. Luke has his own might one that lives at home. No, he just hijacks mine. Yeah. And so nobody have like video game? I have video gaming. I have barstall sports. If you didn't know, they're moving. I mean, it's just, should I could not give a lesser fuck about bombarding me on a daily basis? Well, I am proud of you because when you came into the studio this morning, you came down
Starting point is 00:02:21 to my office and when we were sitting there. Yeah. And you're 23 yearyear-old sent you a text that he's getting like his past porter's driver's license or something. Right? That he wanted, he thought you needed to be with him to sign a document. And much to my surprise, you responded, you're 23 in hit send. I did. And you were so proud to hear that. I couldn't believe it. My jaw was on the floor. Because naturally you were looking at what I was texting.
Starting point is 00:02:48 And then he sent another message. Yeah. And you doubled down on it. So basically this morning, you are a back-to-back champ. Back-to-back. Back-to-back champ in drawing boundaries and teaching autonomy. I mean, I'm little by little, it's baby steps.
Starting point is 00:03:09 So what you need to do now is just make an announcement in your family group text, do not fuck up my algorithm. But here's the deal with him, he'll do it on purpose. Like now that he knows how about it bugs me, he'll just continue to do it even from school. I have a feeling because there's love. What does he always tell you? There's nothing more I love than throwing pumps in a dump truck. Yeah, he does. Dumpster. He loves, he loves to torture you, but I have a solution. Lock him out of my
Starting point is 00:03:38 account. Yes. I don't even know how I would do that. We have a millennial that works for us. Oh, that's true. That is very tech savvy that can change your YouTube password and put a lock on your account. I know, but then I'd have 47 techs, what's the password? What's the password? Then you could just block him. He's 23. Yeah, he's 23.
Starting point is 00:03:59 He did hijack when he was in Houston. He kept hijacking my Hulu account and I was pissed about that. I think the steps are like this. Drop out of the group, me. Step one. Lock YouTube. Lock Hulu. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:14 I don't know. That's pretty daring. You were back to back champ this morning. I know, but that just seems like a bridge too far. The lockout. I think that's, I don't think I have the stuff for that. So you'll just gonna be able to get rid of the the risk of the risk of the loss of your life. So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life.
Starting point is 00:04:30 So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life. So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life. So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life. So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life.
Starting point is 00:04:44 So you're gonna have to be able to get rid of the risk of the loss of your life. So you're told him, like, I've laid down the fucking law on the Hulu account. OK. All right. Listen, I mean, that's three bound. I'm laughing at me. Three boundaries in one day. Why are you laughing at me, Kyle?
Starting point is 00:04:53 You're just on fire. Ha ha ha. Her pumps takes her news digestion so seriously. We're recently on tour listener. And I watched the 24 hour news in our room. Pumps and I shared a room. It is complete intravenous. Yes. Into her veins and every single journalist or contributor that comes on, she's like,
Starting point is 00:05:17 oh my god, I love Alex. I mean, he is just one of the best. And she talks about each journalist and contributor. Like her foe, they are her best friend. Right, I do, because I feel like we are friends. So let me take what I've had it with. What is that? It's called the anxious leg bounce. Oh, I'm kind of out of that. So here's my problem with it.
Starting point is 00:05:38 If somebody does it and they're contained in their own personal space, it's fine. Right, it's kind of annoying to look at, but where it really becomes an I've had at situation is when your seat is somehow connected and or attached to their seat. Could not agree more. I'm talking about movie theaters.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I'm talking about sporting events. I'm talking about airplanes. And you've got an anxious leg thumper thumping that thumps about a dozen people around them, right? With little or no awareness or give a fact that everybody's vibrating with them, right? Everybody's ass is vibrating because they can't hold their legs still. This recently happened to me and I was just like, can this, you know, why are we all vibrating? Because you're vibrating. So, you know, I'm a curious person. So I googled it. The situation with anxious leg bounce is people get anxiety because of this hormonal
Starting point is 00:06:38 cortisone style build up, okay? Because we're not exercising enough. Okay, because our species has slowed down from an evolutionary standpoint. We're all sitting in front of computers, sitting watching TV, sitting, hopefully all of our listeners right now are walking. But and so you have this anxiety and so your body is trying to release it and then it becomes a habit. Right, I think mine, I do a leg swing. I'm not a bouncer, I do this leg swing. Yeah, which if your seat is connected to other people, I wouldn't do it then. No, I would not do it then.
Starting point is 00:07:14 What about like a pin clicker? No, I'm not a pin clicker. I'm not a chewer on some things. It's sometimes people do these things that if they need to do it to self-soothe, whatever I support it. But when you're vibrating or clicking and it carries over to the people around you, we need to have some sort of call out situation where you're not quite an ass, but you say, I don't want
Starting point is 00:07:38 I don't want to bounce right now. Right. Are you aware that your bouncing of your leg is making my ass vibrate? And if so, do you have any inclination to stop? Right. Maybe that would be the way to handle. Would you do that? If somebody said that to me, I would really try not to do that was full-blown vibrating, like bouncing, anxiety bounce. And it's bouncing right next to you and your seat shaking, would you ask them to stop? If it was driving me crazy, I absolutely would. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:14 I like to think that I would do that, but oftentimes I think I make a fatal error and I just sit there and in my mind, I just get matter and matter. Yes. Now, I think I would say, excuse me, I don't know if you're aware, but our seats are connected.
Starting point is 00:08:31 And so your little bounce is causing me discomfort because it's bouncing my chair. I think I could do it real sweetly. I think you could too. I think you could too. I think I need to start speaking. Yeah, I just say, hey, do you mind not vibrating? Right. But I wonder if you're going to vibrate. Please let me see me some loop. Listener, what do you do in that situation? Do you sit and just get irritated? Or do you
Starting point is 00:08:55 speak out and ask the person not to do it? Or do you just full on rates? Like, hey, dude, quit bouncing man. I'm over here vibrating like crazy. I think I've had a football game before, like there was a toddler or something like jumping up and down on the ground. Toddling and she's going out immediately. Right. And I was just like, oh my gosh. Every time she jumps, it like sins, ricochet pain through my back and her mom corralled her.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah, that's good. Welcome to I've had it where we are Beacons of Light. Beacons of Life, Hope and Serenity. This is a place where we believe that being positive 24, 7, 3, 65 is not sustainable, and it's bad for you. It's bad for you, and you've got to get stuff off your chest, and this is your biweekly dump truck of grievances. Let's check in with Kylie.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Oh wait, I'm Jennifer. Oh, I'm Angie. She's the star of our show, The Princess Diana, podcasting. Kylie, yes, ma'am. What's going on? I've got a really good comment. I'm dying to read you.
Starting point is 00:09:56 How late are you? It's on TikTok and it's from someone named Stephanie J.C. 87. Okay. She wrote, How old are you, Gammies? Negative Nancy and Margaret Hamilton. Who's Margaret Hamilton? Isn't she like a history figure?
Starting point is 00:10:18 Is it like Alexander Hamilton's wife? No, was it, that was Martha. Did you say Martha? No, it was Martha Washington. Okay. Who is that? I figured y'all would know. I figured it was someone older than me. Oh fuck off, Kylie. Fuck you, Kiles. I can't believe that you're talking on with Stephanie Margaret Hamilton. Do we know? She was an actress. I don't know. In 1902. Does that ring a bell? No, not at all. Children.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Got it. I've had it. I've had it, I've had it, I've had it. I've had to think silent movies. So they weren't bitching out loud. So that's a false equivalency. Yeah, Stephanie, take that. Mm-hmm. Take that Richard, how are you doing? I'm doing good.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I'm sad that my kids are going back to school. Sad? Yeah, I'm so happy. I'm sad. I always celebrated. I did too. I mean, Jennifer and I would be like, one more day they go back to school.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Yeah, especially youngest one we made his kindergarten teacher. And I was like, kindergarten to hard one for yeah, it is a hard one. Don't leave me. That's sweet Richard. I always celebrate who I'm a children return to school. I can get him back in school quick enough. I know. I needed I needed for them to be away from me. I needed the absence to make the heart grow fond of it. Right. And I do specifically remember, we would always be like, oh my gosh, it's so exciting. Like about two o'clock, or two thirty three, so excited to go pick a map.
Starting point is 00:11:32 And then before I left the parking lot, I would call you and be like, why were we so excited to pick them up again? Because I'm already furious. Yeah, no, because the witching hour starts from like three to five kids are impossible. Impossible. They're tired. They're hungry. They're assholes. It's just bad Pumps, have you heard about this microdosing thing? I have heard a lot about it It's really interesting, you know
Starting point is 00:11:54 I've heard a lot about it and microdosing what is it? It's that just right like goldilocks feeling like maybe after you Exercise like you feel totally like you're not too tired, you're not too this, you're not too that. Micro dosing helps you achieve that. In particular, I've had a really hard time sleeping, so I've been micro dosing these sleep chemis, and I'm telling you, my sleep is REM city, baby. Starting point is 00:14:22 dream guests. And here, I've had it. Kylie and I want to do everything in our power to make the star of our show happy and fulfill her dreams of being the Princess Diana podcasting. And this guy is somebody who's in pumps algorithm with whom she spends a significant amount of her day. I must feel like we're boyfriend girl for a little bit. Without further ado, let's welcome Ben Myceles, the founder and one-third of the hit news organization, The Midest Touch.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Hi! Oh my gosh. Okay, Ben, I have to let you in on something. So in 2020 during the election, I discovered you guys on Instagram. And I was like, inject this shit into my veins immediately. These guys are going after it. I love it. This is the exact type of leadership we need right now. I can't get enough. I send it to pumps. Ever since then, she is your biggest fan. She's madly in love with you. I created a monster. You have been her number one top dream guest to have on I've had it.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I'm so excited. I mean, I was telling Jennifer like, it's embarrassing because I feel like you're my boyfriend. Like I spend more time with you than any other man on the planet. I notice when you get a hair cut. I notice when you're my boyfriend. Like I spend more time with you than any other man on the planet. I notice when you get a hair cut. I notice when you shave your beard. I mean, it's, I'm like a stalker. Thank God you have a public channel or I'd really be fucked. That's, that's, that's so good. But no, I appreciate it. And now all I see on my TikTok is either YouTube or Alabama rush.
Starting point is 00:16:09 That's all I get. Well, tell our listener a little bit, we're die hard political junkies ever here. But we acknowledge that a lot of people maybe have that as a small little segment of their life that they're able to turn off and turn on. Pumps and I are not like that. Pumps is even far worse than I am. You have a group called the Midas Touch, which you founded with your brothers in 2020, correct? Correct. And so me and my brothers, we're not really, we don't really have political backgrounds. I mean, I interned on Capitol Hill for a bit.
Starting point is 00:16:41 And then I was like, I don't really want to go into politics. I went to law school was a civil rights lawyer. And then in 2020, just saw everything that was happening with our country. And I just said, Hey, we got to get involved. But ultimately, what became clear is the most important thing that I thought was missing is actually a media network. And I've had it with cable news. I thought that cable news was, you know, it was two different sides, both sides in the issues, people yelling at each other. And then they went to a commercial break. What really needs to happen is there needs to be a media network that does things differently and that changes the way cable news does
Starting point is 00:17:22 things. And so it didn't exist. So we built it. And we created the Midas Touch Network right now that not only do we compete with the major media networks, but at least in digital spheres, I think we far exceed mostly every major network that's out there at this point when it comes to politics. My husband and I used to watch the 24-hour news cycle all the time. Now only Pumps does that.
Starting point is 00:17:44 We both kind of got off of it. And my husband would get so mad, his name is Josh, and he would get so mad because they would have a person that was speaking about facts on one side. And then a person who refuted facts on the other side, and he would just, I mean, he would get so mad, and then he would send out a mean tweet to like, Marco Rubio. And it would be like, fuck you, you're a liar.
Starting point is 00:18:07 And then like, and then like an hour later, he'd come back and go, God, I tweeted a little Marco. And I probably shouldn't have had told him to fuck off. But I was so mad that he was lying in the journalist letting him lie. And now I've deleted the tweet. And so it was like always this kind of spiral. And like, he'd tweet Mitch McConnell if he was lying on TV.
Starting point is 00:18:23 But here's what I want our listener to be aware of. And I could get to eat Mitch McConnell if he was lying on TV. But here's what I want our listener to be aware of. And it is when it's a false equivalency, when you have a scientist that is talking about climate change on one side. And they have facts and 99% of the scientific community from all these different countries have all come to the same conclusion. And then they commercial break. And then they come back and they have somebody that thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old that
Starting point is 00:18:51 works at the Creation Science Museum. And that's kind of what you're talking about with this both sideism. And the major news media does this and they serve it up to us as though look at us we're presenting both sides and really all they're presenting as a false equivalency. It's the biggest problem that I had where I said, I need to build a network and what I'm trying to do with the media network and where I think we've resonated with people is really championing normalcy. That's one thing I really do like about it is that all, you get the actual facts. It's not a lot of opinion. It's just, here's what, for example,
Starting point is 00:19:31 all the indictments, like here's what the indictment say because you really can get a completely different view if you're on Twitter of what the indictment actually says. So I do appreciate that. But I also, one thing I was telling Jennifer is, first of all, when I started watching, I was like, of course I googled you. And I was like, he's got to look younger.
Starting point is 00:19:49 I mean, he's got to look younger than he actually is because he can't be this young, because you did the Colin Kaepernick litigation. You see, the Fry Festival. I'm like, how old is this motherfucker? Fire. I always call it fry, but it's fire. I mean, so how did you incorporate all this? Are you still working full time?
Starting point is 00:20:09 At this point, I pretty much have moved away from the litigation practice. There's certain clients and people who I love to work with. I'm still business partners with Colin Kaepernick. I'm still business partners with someone named Akim Aliu, who's done incredible work, fighting against racism in the sport of hockey. I sit on the board of a group called the Hockey Diversity Alliance. And I'll be involved in certain civil rights cases, but building this media company has now become
Starting point is 00:20:40 the full-time job. It's become my life's work, but it is inextricably intertwined with being a civil rights lawyer, because I think if you go back, I was representing families in places like Bakersfield and Fresno who lost loved ones to police brutality. And when someone loses a family member in a government-related killing, it doesn't matter if you're a Democrat, if you're a Republican, you just want the answers, you want the facts, and you want accountability.
Starting point is 00:21:12 And through that work, I was able to get a kind of a multiplicity of viewpoints from the families taking dep positions of the police officers meeting with government officials and ultimately and seeing activists on the ground, and then just trying to get at the truth, where there could be powerful interest trying to stop you from getting that. So then I thought more holistically about, well, what can I do to make the biggest difference with the platforms that I have. And I didn't expect it to be that might as touch to take off the way it did, but it did. And when I saw people out there saying, this didn't exist before, like real fact-based
Starting point is 00:21:57 intelligent, compassionate news, like it shocked me that me and my two younger brothers, like that's an innovative concept that that even existed But knowing that it did I was like no we have to lean into this and we got to make this our lives mission and so That's pretty much what I do. This is a full-time a full-time commitment to for me What I like about what you all do is you attack because What I like about what you all do is you attack because that is a core principle, whether we like it or not. Our politicians and political campaigns now, we are so shallow as a population that we have to be entertained. And I think that your video is the way you just went after in a very aggressive way. You went after the danger that was Trumpism
Starting point is 00:22:46 and the outrageous hypocrisy of his supporters. We can't be silent because the Pro-Democracy Coalition is the true silent majority, but we see historically and we see across the world situations where authoritarians usually represent about 20 to 25% of a virulent radicalized population, and their, and their relentless fascism is relentless over and over wherever you look, Marjorie Taylor Green doesn't go away, right?
Starting point is 00:23:23 Wherever you look, Jim Jordan's there with his sleeves rolled up, being a freaking fascist, weirdo. Wherever you look, they're everywhere. Yeah. That's fascism. Right. Because they want to wear you down so that finally, the majority of the population goes, all right, all right. I can't handle these people. Fine. I've had it. Just do what you want to do. Leave me alone. Right. Right. The problem is they don't leave you alone. Then they go deeper and deeper and deeper until they're fully controlling you. That's the historical precedent. So if you've had it, you can't be exhausted. If you've had it, you have to push back against it and you have to take a stand. Whatever it is that you're doing. Absolutely. And it's so admirable that you're doing that because obviously, I mean, you're a
Starting point is 00:24:07 high-powered dude. You represented Colin Kaepernick. You did a deal with Nike. Okay, I do have a question about that. What's it like to see the NFL? I mean, is it just a cluster effect? Do they just paper you to death? They've got very intelligent lawyers over there, the best in the world. And I'm from a smaller, more boutique style firm. Right. But I think you can have a asymmetrical litigation tactics that can be used against some of these bigger firms. Ultimately, when you're making an oral argument before a judge, they could be the biggest firm in the world.
Starting point is 00:24:48 They could have an army of a million lawyers. But ultimately, when I'm before a judge, or in this case, before an arbitrator, it's just me and one other person. So if I show up and I'm prepared, and I do my best that day, doesn't matter if he's got a million people. Granted, he could get better research and all of the stuff,
Starting point is 00:25:09 but it's going to be a one on one competition. Once you're once you're in the court, but that was always an honor, you know, representing Colin Kaepernick. And, you know, I didn't realize then the connectivity there, but right, one of the first people, private citizens who Donald Trump attacked was Colin Kaepernick. Yes. Get that son of a bitch off the field, right?
Starting point is 00:25:29 He did it in Huntsville, Alabama, one of the very first private citizens and the owners listened, right? That was the first part. That was the first part. That was the first part. Get the son of a bitch off the field. It was really the first test of, can the government where Donald Trump believes it's a quote unquote winning issue for him, attack a private citizen for protesting in the most peaceful of ways. He didn't, Colin
Starting point is 00:25:52 Kaepernick didn't take an American flag and attack the Capitol building. He didn't take an American flag and start attacking the referees, you know, some of the heinous conduct that we saw during the January 6th in Syracian, Colin Kaepernick kept to himself and just during the during the star spangled banner, just in his own mind, not telling anyone else to do it, just wanted to reflect on the fact that police police brutality disproportionately impacts black and brown Americans. And he's did quietly. There's no sign. There's no nothing. Just kept to himself. And you know, since we've started the podcast,
Starting point is 00:26:30 we are political beliefs. And we don't believe them to be so much as political, but I'm calling them that right now. We believe that there are moral issues for us, like supporting the LGBTQIA plus community, supporting the black and brown community, supporting the black and brown community, supporting the trans community, and we've been very outspoken about that.
Starting point is 00:26:48 And I think a lot of people have been really but hurt and they'll say, I hate it when you guys stop, start talking politics on your podcast. And then our publicist just sent us this article that somebody at the Federalist wrote a hit piece on us, which I considered a love letter. I mean, that they took the time and care to write. But what they write is, these women are pandering to a gay audience. And it's like, they project what they do.
Starting point is 00:27:18 They have to pander to, you know, for money. We're not pandering to anybody. We believe, you know, in our hearts and because it's the morally right thing to do, that people can love who they want to love without government interference, and we stand up and we use our voices to stand up for that. But they project the person who wrote the article.
Starting point is 00:27:40 You could tell he liked us at first and then we broke his heart when we came out with our liberalism, right? And he could see it. He's a gay conservative and he starts off like they were great. They were talking about their petty grievances and they just hate conservatives and they're seething anger just comes gushing out and especially that Welch, she blah blah blah. And that was just like my heart was just all a flutter. And our publicist is like, God, I love this shit. It's so good. But they dismiss you, like, especially as women,
Starting point is 00:28:10 they dismiss when we have an opinion that is ours. And it is informed, and it is educated, and it's a gut feeling. They dismiss it as though, oh, they're pandering. Like, they would never do that. These white women would never support black, brown, and gay people. They're doing that for many, and they project because that's what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:28:30 It's gross. They try to diminish it. They attack. They engage in stochastic terrorism. You know, they, they, they, I can't tell you how frequently, you know, I get threats, how people who I know who are prominent in the pro-democracy community get threats or get swatted or all of those things that happen fairly, fairly frequently. And, you know, to me, this is why I don't refer to the people on the right wing today.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I just, I don't call them conservative. No, you're right. They're absolutely not. And I think that it is a misnomer to refer to this binary of liberal progressive on the one hand conservative on the other hand. You know, there is a MAGA movement out there that you can call it Trump MAGA, call it MAGA Republican. And their views to me when they want to dehumanize people, that is unacceptable. I want to live my life and treat all human beings with respect and with decency. And I am not waking up like these Maga Republicans are. They wake up and they think about really every
Starting point is 00:29:44 day, they think about bathrooms, they think about really every day they think about bathrooms they think about which bathroom a trans person's going to use or not. Why are you thinking about? Right. Why do you think you're, I never think about it. I never think about it. And here's the thing. I worked, I used to work at an orange theory all the time and they sometimes the women's
Starting point is 00:29:59 restroom there would be a line and I would look, nobody was looking. I'd go use the men's. Do it all the time. Guess what happened, Ben? Fucking nothing I'd go use the men. So guess what happened, Ben? Fuckin' nothin'. I went into the men's restroom, I peed, I washed my hands, fucking nothin' happened to me. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:13 And it's that simple, you know, and they have to be called out, you know, they want to have these debates about, you know, on, on, on, on, on trans issues. They want to have LGBTQ plus issue debates. And I go, if you want to have a debate about the very humanity of an individual, I'm not, that, that's not a debate I am having with you. You treat human beings with respect. You treat human beings with compassion. Full stop.
Starting point is 00:30:39 I, you know, I just go. Not platforming it. Right. It's awful. Okay. Now it's time to play a game with you called had it or hit it. So I'm gonna list some things and you tell us if you'd had it or if you like it so much, you'd hit it.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Oh my God, welcome to had it or hit it. I would hit it, I would have had it. I hit it every day sometimes twice a day. Okay, had it or hit it, music festivals. I've had it. I don it, music festivals. I've had it. I don't do music festivals. I can't do big crowds. Same.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Hated. So any time I'm sure I did a show. I don't even, I love music, but I don't even really like going to concerts. Same. That's the kind of thing. I'm the exact same way. I like the thought of going to a concert. I just don't get super excited about it Because I know I'm gonna have to deal with a lot of people waiting in line. I'm gonna have multiple
Starting point is 00:31:32 I've had it a lot of stuff is gonna irritate me. It's time away from my pets It's just a big thing. I've kind of had it with me Well, as festivals you're outside sweat and your ass off and then I want you to pee and Poor to putty. I would rather hold it and die of a urinary tract infection than go in a lot of body. I mean, it's just the grossest. I'm just out on those. Okay. Had it or hit it, the NFL? Um, well, I've had it until they make sure that they do the right thing and allow Colin Kaepernick an opportunity to play. I've had it with the NFL.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I watch college football, though, I'm getting close to having it with college football as well, but I'm still a big college football fan. But with the NFL, specifically as it relates to Colin Kaepernick, if you believe that you're a meritocracy, I still don't understand why you wouldn't even allow. All Collins, Collins never made a demand for any amount of money. He's like, hey, let me do a try-out with other team members so people can see that I am competitive and that I could still be a starting QB.
Starting point is 00:32:41 And the fact that people, or that the ownership group there doesn't allow him to even compete, I've had it until they prove to me they're a true meritocracy. Here's my thing with these sports corporations, like the NFL or the NBA or college sports. You have a place, a space where the majority of the employees are African-American. That is a space in this industry where the black community is not the minority or black and brown people are not the minority. They're the majority.
Starting point is 00:33:15 And when you have voices within that group that say, this is what's happening in our communities and it's been going on for a long time and it's kind of baked into the system. And now that we're here, we want to spread some of this information with everybody and bring people to our side to help heal, prevent, and set up organizations that can help these communities prosper better. And then they just when they do that, then it's like they get demeaned and diminished. And it's like the whole thing, what that, what was that? Ingram, Laura Ingram, what she said to LeBron James, like shut up and dribble. And I just think that's so dehumanizing, to somebody who, why can't he be a basketball player
Starting point is 00:34:07 and have these humanitarian instincts as well? Because anybody else that does it, we're gonna listen to them if they're white. We're gonna listen to what their positions are. And I just think that when you have an institution or a corporation where the majority of the employees, I think the NBA did a good job supporting all of the people during the BLM But the NFL it just seems like well, they're just a bunch of 32 white guys
Starting point is 00:34:31 I think they have one non white person billionaires that have inherited it from their Parents, you know what I mean like they're totally insulated from the real world And it's very frequently about control and it's always done in a performative way. The ownership wants to do it. Hey, we can talk about diversity, but it's got to be through our lens of diversity as white owners. And the moment someone like Colin Kaepernick goes, but we need to do it
Starting point is 00:35:01 authentically to actually really make a difference and make an impact. And you know, how the owner say, we want to have tough conversations. We don't want to have that. Because the moment the tough conversations happen, that's when the owners say, we're not to get that person out. And there are tough conversations in intelligent societies that need to be have so that we could arrive at solutions. Again, going back to the theme of everything
Starting point is 00:35:33 we've talked about so far in a data driven, very specific way. And it may make the ownership of the NFL feel uncomfortable to have these conversations. But I promise you that they're uncomfortability having a conversation pales in comparison to what people in Black and Brown communities go through in a day.
Starting point is 00:35:57 And they are simply just trying to talk about. Right. And so that's why I've had it with the NFL and I still hit it with college football, although I find myself increasingly as I'm watching it thinking to myself. Listeners, I know some of you obsessively follow that super credible quote, health expert on TikTok. I know a bunch of you will probably have a contract. I know Pumps visits the doctor way more than she should.

I'm telling you you've got to go to zock.com slash I've had it and download the Zock.app for free. Then find and book a top rated doctor today. That's zo c d o c dot com slash I've had it. Zot dot dot com slash I've had it. Pumps, my closet is overflowing with clothes and the last thing I need to do is go by more. So what I need are a few pieces that I can integrate to kind of spice up an existing outfit that I have. And I'm tired of spending money on clothes.
Starting point is 00:37:48 So I found this fantastic site, Quince, Q-U-I-N-C-E. I just love their stuff. They have timeless classics that never go out of style. You know, I love to wear a yacht suit or a power suit. They have all these great cameys, all different colors that I can throw on under one of my blazers and it just totally looks like a brand new outfit just by changing the camey.
Starting point is 00:38:09 I love their product so much, it is transformed to my wardrobe. Take the drama out of planning an outfit and upgrade your closet with Quince today. Go to Quince.com slash had it for free shipping on your order and as a concept. It needs to be to extent it exists. It needs to be hit the right way and not overthrown by mega Republicans. But if you look through all of the past elections too, when going back to what I said about referendums and how the American people about referendums and how the American people support pro-democracy issues without an electoral college, there would not even be any concern about can Trump or Trump like people in the future. The American people stand strongly on the side of rejecting that by millions
Starting point is 00:39:21 and millions of votes, eight million in the last election. This one, I think clearly it would be more than 10 million, 11 million more million people will vote for, I think, Biden, then a Trump, but we have to now look at states like, all right, like what's Ohio gonna do, what's Wisconsin gonna do? What's the Wisconsin Supreme Court gonna do? You know, and we're learning that we have to now care about. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:39:47 So you're telling me that the Republican House in Wisconsin is looking to impeach the new Supreme Court justice, Janet Prodicewitz, who was just elected by the people. And that has an impact because they want to put forward a gerrymandering scheme that ultimately can skew elections. It's like, whoa, whoa, can we just have the people vote and can the people pick a winner? If the Republicans lost one the majority, the popular vote, and lost the electoral college like we did, and they did this to FDR, that's why there's term limits now.
Starting point is 00:40:20 They would have already fixed it, and this is my problem sometimes with the Democrats. You need, we need to get rid of it because I, we live in Oklahoma City, and let me tell you what know, they would have already fixed it. And this is my problem sometimes with the Democrats. We need to get rid of it because we live in Oklahoma City and let me tell you what happens when you have a Republican super majority for multiple decades. So this is what I say to all of my friends here. They're like, well, no, I'm a Republican, I just like Republican policies. And I'm like, if the policies are so great for 20 to 30 years, we've had Republican governors, Republican Senate, Republican House of Representatives. All of these policies have us ranked 49th in education.
Starting point is 00:40:53 We are 45 to 50 in all of the places that don't matter. By their logic, if these policies are so rock solid, Oklahoma would be a top 10 state. And our governor often says, Kevin Stead, he says, we're going would be a top 10 state. And our governor often says, Kevin Stead, he says, we're gonna be a top 10 state. And I'm like, well, back here in your second term now, and last time I checked, we were still about 48. And we have a nut superintendent of school who is just a complete embarrassment.
Starting point is 00:41:19 And it's these policies, you can look no further than the deep south where these supermajorities have taken place in this conservatism. And now I'm just talking about conservatism, not just the fascism. These policies don't bode well over time when they have supermajorities. You see the pay gap, you know, greatly increase, you see poverty increase, you see more incarceration, you see more capitalism on speed, and people get hurt. And you see these economies, you know, in blue states that do far better, and they're ranked far higher in education. So I think you have to look no further to the failure of conservative policies than red states that have held super
Starting point is 00:42:01 majorities. Okay. Here's our last one. Had it or hit it, four seasons total landscaping. Okay, I have had it with that type of politics, but I will hit it with the fact that four seasons landscapes did a great job. I think capitalizing on the small amount of a fame that they receive there. But if anything to me demonstrates where the Republican party has moved its four seasons landscape and that Giuliani with the with the dripping down Yeah. There with like Jenna Ellis who I think he was farting on her.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Yeah. He farted COVID on Jenna Ellis. She got, she's just a true story. No, I wonder, is that true? The farting from the COVID, let me start COVID from the free. COVID via fart. COVID the next day and I googled the science and that in as possible.
Starting point is 00:43:03 The good. But it's, so anyway, you got Giuliani farting on. with the next day and I googled the science and that it is possible. So anyway, you got Giuliani farting on lying about election results at the wrong four seasons. That is the, you know, and that's not normal. And so I've had it with that behavior. I've had it calling that conservative. I've had it with calling that conservative. I've had it with that. I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:43:27 I need to stop normal. I should have had it. I should have had it. But I hit that shit. I stayed up way past my bedtime, deep diving on Twitter. I hit the shit out of that bin. I couldn't get enough of it. I couldn't quit talking about it.
Starting point is 00:43:42 I read every tweet. I consumed as much of it as possible. I thought it was one of the best things that happened in that election cycle, which tells you how vapid and shallow I am. I mean, Pumps and I would call her and we would do dramatic readings of tweets. I could not get enough of it.
Starting point is 00:44:01 No, it was so good. I think that mine might have been the hair dye, but I did. I mean, the total landscaping is just what I fucked up deal. Why did nobody check? Doesn't he have an assistant? Like, how do you fuck up that bad? Well, I mean, look, I mean, that's just-
Starting point is 00:44:16 You do that every day. Yeah. Yeah, that's just another Tuesday in the Trump campaign, you know? Well, Ben, this has been Pumps' dream come true. I mean, I'm so happy. I'm going to go home tonight. I'm going to watch. I'm going to be like, I talked to him today. Yeah, he has been telling everybody because she has. She won all the time. He's going to be on the podcast. Yeah. My daughter finally said, you've told me that four times. I know. And I was like, okay, well, you're not impressed,
Starting point is 00:44:39 apparently. So you can just know that whenever, you know, things are low or you're having a bad day that pumps is in a monogamous news relationship with you on her algorithm. She notices when your hair's cut, when you've shaved, she has got eagle eye vision on you, Ben. I mean, she is locked and loaded. Well, we are on the algorithm together. Those that Alabama rush outfit of the day, you know, has fully invaded. So it's you outfit of the day and occasional other political stuff. So we're in it together. And I really look. I really love all of the work that you two are doing.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I really, outside of the invite, I get it on my algorithm all the time on on on TikTok. And I loved what you built and continued to build. And any time that we could use our platforms to spread positivity and compassion and intelligence and do it in a fun way, you know, is is something that is truly appreciated and your work is truly appreciated by this country and the world. Well, thank you, Ben. Say hi, Katya. Thank you, Ben. Yes, very much. And we will see you on the algorithm. See on the algorithm. Our listeners can find you at Midas Touch. That's right. I will. I will see you know, the the
Starting point is 00:46:01 shoes are Hoka. The ring is Amazon. Bye, Ben. Thank you so much. Thank you. the shoes are hoca, the ring is Amazon. I'm not the hell. I'm not the hell. Bye, man. Thank you so much. Bye, man. Thank you. Bye.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Are you the happiest woman on the planet? I mean, I didn't think I could like him anymore. Genuinely, I didn't think I could like him anymore, but I do. I mean, he is lovely. He's so smart. I mean, your boyfriend was on your podcast. Oh my gosh. In the same clothes I saw him in before I came here with his hot take.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Of course you noticed that he wore his outfit of the day. Of course, he already knew what the outfit of the day was. Right, because he's your boyfriend. He's your algorithm boyfriend. And you know what? I think I'd be better at that than a normal relationship. I think you're really, I think you're good at it. And I've great taste in algorithm, boyfriends.
Starting point is 00:46:48 You do have good taste in algorithm, boyfriends. I mean, it's just baby steps forward in like a real person. So how many times does his show on? He does hot takes like throughout the day, like if something breaks or whatever, and then do you get an alert? Of course I get an alert.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Yeah, all right. I mean, obviously. Yeah. All right. And then you tune in immediately. tune in immediately if I'm home or not. Sometimes I just save them up. I mean, I was, I listened to the podcast if I walk because he's got like three different podcasts that he does. But you save them up so that you can have a bender.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Yeah, I'll have a bender with my boyfriend bin. With my boyfriend bin. Yeah. I mean. He's just so smart. I just, he's a 10 out of 10 person. And I do feel encouraged that my algorithm boyfriend taste is good. This is a good sign.
Starting point is 00:47:32 This is a good sign. This is a good sign. Right. I know you picked a, for your algorithm boyfriend, you picked a very smart. Very smart, very successful. Very successful. A journey that has a news network.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Right. That is fighting fascism. Yes. That is standing up for democracy. And he is your very own boyfriend, Paz. Algorithm boyfriend. Your very own algorithm boyfriend. Right, so I mean, this is a good slide.
Starting point is 00:48:00 I really do feel good about this. I feel really, really good about this because you have had a very well documented shit show, horrible picker. Horrible, I mean, I might have the worst picker in the whole world. Ben marks the turnaround. Yes, this guy, I mean, a lot of the shit that he said,
Starting point is 00:48:17 I'm like this guy is so smart. Yeah. No, I really think like algorithm boyfriend A plus who knows, a real boyfriend might not be a serial killer Possibly, I mean we're not gonna say that yet. We're not just right right. I mean, you know Baby steps, right right and then it could also be like do you make these people crazy? I think there's been wasn't your algorithm boyfriend. Are you driving him to be a serial killer? That's that's open for discussion for sure because I can talk about Josh going to rehab five times. Did I send him into orbit?
Starting point is 00:48:56 Of course not listen or of course not. But yeah, no, of course not listener. I didn't. Anyway, that was so fun and I'm so happy that we look at how happy I'm just dying. I mean, I'm just dying. You would think I just got a facial. She is so happy. I love it.
Starting point is 00:49:12 I love it. It was great to have him on. I was fantastic. Kylie, did you enjoy it? I did. I learned a lot. Don't you feel like he says smart. It's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Absolutely. Yeah, I did too. Richard, did you like him? Yes, I did. And then to add to the whole smart thing, I looked up who Margaret Hamilton is. Oh, I did too. Richard, did you like him? Yes, I did. And then I to add to the whole smart thing I looked up who Margaret Hamilton is. Oh good. And I want to say I think the commenter was trying to tell you guys You guys are like intelligent because she was like the director of software engineering at MIT And she was also like the first programmer at NASA for their Apollo program. It's like she's a spot Richard. Thank you. Thank you like the first programmer at NASA for their Apollo program. It's like she's a spotter. That sounds great.
Starting point is 00:49:46 Richard, thank you. Thank you, Richard. We always knew you. She thought she was insulting us, but in fact, she was just telling us how smart we are. I appreciate it. Right. It was smart. It was a four-year slip.
Starting point is 00:49:59 We're smart. You have increased your ability to pick men because your algorithm boyfriend is 10 out of 10. 10 out of 10. And so I mean, Ben might as touch, love him, follow him. So great. Yep. So great. We have pumps and bins sitting in an algorithm tree, KISS,
Starting point is 00:50:19 I and G. We could George a rush videos. Or Alabama rush. Alabama rush. Right. So when he said that, I was like, I need to get right on that. See, y'all are algorithms soulmates. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:50:31 That's exciting. Totally. Totally. All right. Listen, our please go to Patreon because our documentary club is in full swing. We have hard hitting analysis. Each and every Wednesday on Patreon. Add free.
