As you know, I'm Jennifer Welch, the co-host of I've Had It and IHIPP News, and my new book is out called
Not Today Fascists. You know, the Trump regime says, don't call us fascists. Of course, I put that word
directly in the title of the book. This book is about what's happening right now in America,
the rise of theocracy and fascism. We're watching the wall between church and state
crumble before our very eyes. This book is a warning.
But it is also a fight for human decency, for equality, and for the country that we believe in.
Because everything that MAGA hates, I love.
I love multiculturalism.
I want to fight for marginalized groups.
And I want to fight for this country.
So join me and go grab your copy of not today fascists.
It's available now.
So are we supposed to start the podcast?
Ready, one, two, three.
Patriots, gay, treats, they treatets, black triots, black triots,
Brown-Treats, all of everyone in the resistance, we love you. And all of the fascists, fascist
fluffers, triple Trumpers can do what? Pops.
All right, welcome to America's top DEI podcast. I would like to announce to the group that
today I am wearing crew socks. Really? You got them. Yeah. I like to wear a little platform
sneaker and I'm always struggling with the no-show socks, my walk to work. Usually the socks
are kind of sliding off the hill a little bit. And today I just thought, you know, I have a full
permission structure via video evidence from Gen Z that was sent to our podcast, to, were they,
was it syphilis survivors? Chlamydia. And chlamydia. Yeah, chlamydia survivors. And,
I can wear these crew socks.
I'm going to wear these crew socks
and I have a permission structure to do so.
Pumps, what have you had it with?
Okay, just let me tell you what I did yesterday.
I got some crew socks I ordered,
but I know that I've been told I can,
I'm not too old to wear the lacy socks.
And I looked at him and I really liked him,
but I just thought, I kind of feel like I just couldn't pull the trigger on those.
So I still, even though I have the permission structure,
there's something holding me back on the lace ones, even though I'm dying for some because
they're so cute. Yeah. But, you know, what have you had it with? Okay, this is petty,
but that's just the state of my life right now. Okay. So I get this update and maybe it's not
related to the update, but I keep getting this thing on my phone that says, we've saved you from
a spam call. So they text me or send me a notice that they've saved me from a spam call. We've blocked
a spam call. And it's, I mean, I'm getting, and then I get at the end of the day. We've,
we've saved you for, or blocked, you know, eight spam calls today. And so I'm just like,
who the fuck is this? Why are you saving me? It already said spam. I don't need grandstanding
around something that already said spam.
So I dig deeper.
And I thought it was Apple because I hate Apple
because of Tim Cook and the other guy.
Well, it's from AT&T.
They have this new thing called armor.
And so every day you get an update
on all the spam calls that were already being blocked
just on your basic phone,
taking credit for blocking calls that were blocked anyway.
And I'm just fucking had it.
Just enough with telling me how great you are
when I didn't even ask for it in the first.
place. I don't even know how it got on my phone. So they're texting you these?
Well, it's showing up on my phone. It doesn't show up like a notification.
Yes, a notification. It's like you're getting a spam call, but we blocked it. And I'm just like,
bitch, it said spam call and I didn't answer it before. I don't know why you're having to do all
this. And then I couldn't, I thought it was an update. So I just went deep dive in my phone.
And it's fucking AT&T. And it's like, we have blocked.
183 spam calls this month. And I'm just like, nobody asked for this.
This is that you bring up a really good point. This is when people remind you of miserable
experiences. Spam calls are a miserable experience. If you're going to do this, you know,
Boy Scout maneuver and save pumps from spam calls, just do it without the bragging.
Exactly. I would appreciate it way more. I'd probably be excited. I had it. But instead, they have to
tell me. It's like, well, if the spam call didn't bug me because you blocked it, why the
fuck are you bugging me about it? Yeah. It's the worst. Yeah. All right. So I'm going to tell you all
what I've had it with. Everybody knows that I really work meticulously on my for you page on
Instagram. And I really try not to engage with certain things. For example, Christian talk, Mormon talk.
And I know that's like the talk on TikTok, but I'm talking about Instagram, but like I could engage in crazy Christian videos, meaning I watch them and then watch another crazy Christian video, Tradwife video. I could go down a rabbit hole. The Mormons, I could go down a rabbit hole. But then once I do it, I want it to be over with. And then once you engage in it, then the phone thinks you like it. Well, the other day on my 4U page were these four adorable Pekingese puppies. I mean, just cute.
cute as they could be. And the caption said, make sure you turn up the sound, which naturally
immediately spike the volume up as high as it would go. And there were these four little Pekingese
puppies. And they're like snorting and just being as cute as I'll get out, right? Ever since then,
I have a non-stop ambush of Pekinese puppies. Yeah. You know, I gave it a double tap because
I thought the puppies were worthy of the heart. But I struggle because my 4U page, I really,
I look at my 4U page more than I do the actual people that I follow. I want to see,
you know, like what is the algorithm putting together for me? I already know all these people,
you know. And so. Nothing they do is that interesting. Now this is, I can't really just go dabble in a
Pekingese for a day. Like, I want to be a Pekingese fan for this moment. Now I'm back to rebuilding
my 4U page brick by brick again. You know, and that's before I even get to when my friends or
our employees, Kylie and Suss, send me some crazy Christian video, which you know I like to
use this entertainment. Ever. Oh my God. I got, anyway, I want more autonomy on my algorithm. I want more
agency. Like if I go off the grid and I have a watch a Pekingese video, I want an option there.
Would you like to see more of these videos? And I could say, no. I got my Pekingese fix.
Yeah. Really like the breed. I don't need my entire feed to be Pekingese puppies because now I'm
missing out on a lot of tennis stuff. A lot of things that bring me joy to watch online.
A lot of that is dissipating and it's replaced with Pekingese. And the little
Pekingese goes a long way. I mean, they're cute. I'm going to tell you. I'm about a hundred
videos in on these things. And they are really fucking cute, like little mops, you know, running around.
And they're really adorable, but I'm over it. And no disrespect to anybody who has a Pekingese.
I get it. I totally understand why you want it. I understand why you'd want to have it. I
understand why you'd make a video of it. I get it. I enjoyed it. I need it off my feed.
There's certain shit that I just want to dabble in. I agree. I just want to. I just want to.
just want a sampling, you know?
I don't want to let there.
A slight dabble.
And these algorithms are so stupid, which brings me to my other grievance.
AI just is not that great.
I fucking hate it.
The algorithms are based on AI.
And you've got to be smarter.
You've got to be a machine that says, well, she's only looked at one Pekingese video in the entire
course of all of the shit that she's looked up.
Maybe we only give her one every six months.
Right. As a human being, I can deduce that. But these super intelligent machines, as Trump's now renamed, it's not artificial intelligence. It's super duper intelligence. They can't figure that out. These machines are so goddamn dumb. They think I look at one Pekingese video and now I want infinite amounts of Pekingese videos. And I just don't. And I really like the Pekinese. Again, I know there's going to be Pekingese owners that are crawling up my ass and I like the Pekinese. I genuinely like the dog. I think it's cute.
I think it's a great creature.
I think it's great for this country.
I just don't need it all over my feed.
All right, we all do things to save time.
You might eat breakfast on your way to work.
You might use a delivery service to deliver a basic household item that you don't have time to stop by the store and get.
We've all done all of these things.
We all have our own time saving hacks for everyday life.
But if you are a business owner, how can you save time hiring?
Well, it's called ZipRecruiter.
ZipRecruiter has a new feature that quickly lets you see the most interested, qualified

No, I can put, I have like seen a video that I thought, oh, I really want to look at that, but I'm like,
but I don't want to get a whole bunch of these videos. So then you're denying yourself something you
want because you don't want more. Let me tell you what happened to me like six months ago.
So I go to sleep with my TV on and just set it for 45 minutes for it to turn itself off.
And it just rolls, you know, like if I'm done with the show, I'm aware.
I fucking get rolled into SpengeBob, a SpengeBob show.
And now my for you on YouTube is like a whole row of SpengeBob.
I'm like, I've never watched Spence Bob.
I don't want to watch Spenge Bob.
I can't get it off because one time it rolled over.
So I fucking hate that. It's like you just have to stay in your little lane. I don't even know how my lane got to SpongeBob.
Mine is sports or politics. I don't know where SpongeBob came into it.
We do have to share with the listener about if you were to ever call Pumps, she spends a lot of time watching podcast and television in a dark, refrigerated room. It doesn't matter what time of the day it is.
So every time I call her on the phone, I'm like, I can't text this.
need to actually call her. Listener, think about calling your very, very elderly parents and or grandparents.
And they answer the phone and the TV is blaring so loud. You're screaming at your parents.
Mom, turn the TV down. Turn the TV down. Or grandma, turn the TV down. So I call pumps.
And it's just blaring. And she's just talking to me. And I'm like, for God's sakes, nursing home woman.
turn the TV down.
She's like, oh, okay.
I mean, it is so loud.
Have you checked your hearing lately?
No, but I checked my eyes yesterday and it's not good.
It's going downhill.
Oh, I wanted to bring that up to.
People in the comment section have been like, Jennifer, why are you wearing glasses now?
Fun fact.
Jennifer has worn glasses longer than pumps for decades.
For decades and decades and decades I've worn glasses.
specifically when I'm driving and when I need to see something across the room.
So when we're filming, I've had it like this podcast per se and we're both in Oklahoma City.
I didn't really have to wear them.
And when we started the podcast, we were morons that had the headphones, big giant headphones on.
It looked like fucking dipshits.
And then putting the glasses with the big giant headphones on.
But now, like, she's in Oklahoma City.
I'm in New York.
So I have a camera in front of me.
And then below the camera, I have my laptop where I can see.
what you all are seeing. So what y'all are seeing right now, I'm looking at that. So when we're
doing iHIPP news or we're about to get in our news stories here for I've had it, I need to be
able to read really small font. And I was really straining because it's about four or five feet away
from me, the laptop. So I was just like, fuck it. I'll just start wearing my glasses again.
So that's the story of the glasses. I love those glasses. Thank you. I went and got really
thin one because I have a lot of thicker ones so I wouldn't impede on your whole glass game.
Because for the brand of the podcast, you're the frame chick.
So I went real thin serial killer frames.
No, I like it.
Not to compete.
All right, welcome to I've had it.
I'm Jennifer.
I'm Angie, the HBIC, Headbeaver.
I haven't said that in a while.
Has our Rug Muncher episode going out?
It did.
Anybody say anything about that?
No, I've been searching Rugg Muncher.
So I'll have to.
We're getting crashed.
It came out right now.
like as we're filming this.
Okay.
I'll do a quick search for after reviews and see.
Okay.
I've got a five-star review.
A crab's confession is community service.
Nick in Cut writes, this podcast, along with Katia and Trixie, is saving my mental health.
I get so sad when I can feel pumps and Jen wrapping up the show, but Tuesday right after I
sensed the end approaching, pumps busts out with a bonus crumbs confession.
I've never felt so blessed.
You're doing millions of sorority girls of service by sharing your story, removing the STD shame, dovetails beautifully with your evangelical deconstruction.
The Lord's work, seriously.
Nick, I was every bit as full of joy as you were.
And knowing that we have on this podcast, a crab survivor is just, you know, three treatments to survive, by the way.
Yeah, not too.
She had to triple tap that bush.
Yeah.
To get those crabs out of there.
And so I felt the exact same level of joy surrounding that.
I mean, I still think about the crab's confession.
And of course I don't give a fact, but I'm just like, what kind of a nut says that on TV?
But I did.
I don't care.
On the rug munching, I do have a little update.
Okay.
I've seen some people saying we say carpet muncher, which is a good one I've heard.
I've heard that.
I've heard that.
I've heard that.
I've heard that.
And then someone says, maybe we need a bit more talk of rug munching because men need to do more of this too.
It should not be just a lesbian thing, men.
Yeah, it's a hetero and a, yeah, it's both.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
All right, it's fall.
And a lot of people are probably thinking about a little living room revamp, maybe a bedroom revamp.
Let me share with you my secret in doing this.
Go to article.
article has incredible furniture, incredible service, high quality, easy delivery, and the pieces
are so incredibly chic. As you know, I recently got a new apartment in New York, and I purchased
the Julie Swivel Chair in an ivory boucle. It is so chic. I absolutely love it. The weight and
feel of the furniture is like something that is incredibly expensive or high end, but it's not
much better price for incredibly chic furniture. They have fast, affordable,
shipping and delivery and support when you need it. And most importantly, a 30-day satisfaction
guarantee. And this is so important because what if you like something on the website? And then
you get it home and the scale's wrong or it doesn't work with Article, you can send it back.
So Listener Article is offering our listeners $50 off your first purchase of $100 or more.

automatically applied at checkout. Again, that's article.com slash had it for $50 off your first purchase
of $100 or more. All right, I've got some new stories to share with the class today. As you all know,
I am keeping in the permanent record a list of things that triggers the snowflake, delicate,
low-tie maga. And I would like to welcome all of the little pink arm, DL Demon Queens from right-wing
media that watch our show so that they can clip it up because we see the clips.
You know, are triggered by books, drag queens, the white liberal woman, and, you know,
et cetera.
And so now they have something new that is triggering them.
And so pop this up.
MAGA melts down over Monday night football national anthem in Chicago.
The MAGA community is furious after the NFL organization.
organized a Mexican mariachi band to perform a unique national anthem ahead of Monday night football
at Soldier Field in Chicago. The two-time Latin Grammy nominated group performed as part of
Hispanic Heritage Month. So for those of you keeping track of the permanent record, we are going
to add mariachi bands. We are also going to add Hispanic Heritage Month. And I would go ahead and
add Latin Grammy nominated to the list of things that cause these little MAGA dipshit
shits to completely melt down. Here is a little bit of the performance so you can really
understand what complete asshole titty babies this group of people are. Here's a little bit of their
performance. Play the clip. Okay. So they were wearing their mariachi outfits, which I think are cool.
They're playing the instruments, which I think is cool.
I'm just going to go on a limb and tell everybody.
I think the national anthem is a snooze fest.
Every time I'm at an event and it's like,
now we have to do the national anthem.
I'm like, and I know that'll get chopped up.
Liberal white ladies hate the national anthem, blah, blah.
We'll add that to your list of shit that you're triggered by.
But here are the disgusting responses from the MAGA racists that ensued.
Let's pop this up.
The American cultureist tweets,
Why the hell is there a mariachi band on my TV
performing the star-spangled banner
for a Monday night football game in Chicago?
What country do we live in?
Here's the next one.
I see NFL still hasn't learned their lesson
after last year's bad bunny disaster.
This is from Jack Posobiac.
And here's another one.
Charles R. Downs tweets.
during tonight's NFL Monday night football game
in Democrat run Chicago, Illinois,
a Mexican mariachi band performed the United States national anthem.
Last time I checked,
Mexicans have their own country and national anthem.
We don't need people dress like Mexicans
performing America's national anthem.
Also, it wouldn't shock me if Democrat, Illinois,
governor J. B. Pritzker personally requested this disgusting display. These woke people hate America.
What how fragile are you that you cannot watch a mariachi band play the star spangled banner and you
go to Twitter, which is forever because we have the screenshots. You can delete them all you want to.
They're here now.
and you throw feces in the comment section over that.
It's unbelievable.
And also I want to point out there's a lot of black people on these NFL teams.
So multiculturalism is a thing.
And we do have a beautiful Hispanic population in this country that I happen to love.
A lot of fat-ass Trumpers do because every time I go into Mexican restaurant, I see them all.
So the hypocrisy is just as rich as I'll get out.
Okay.
this reminded me on Tuesday morning when I saw this because I saw the national anthem.
See, I love violins and I just, I thought it was great.
This is why it is so hard for me to, the word patriot gives me the jeeps.
The American flag stirs up something in me that it shouldn't, that it didn't 15 years ago.
Same with the national anthem.
Because when I think of why we have a national anthem,
why we have a flag.
And the word patriot is my number one.
That I just, every time I hear those words, it's coded for we're going to be racist,
we're going to be cruel, we're going to be inclusive.
I mean, we're going to be exclusive, not inclusive.
We're going to hate on people.
And I no longer see an American flag and think, oh my gosh, that person's patriotic.
I immediately think that person's a racist because that's just what's been banged in my head.
and the national anthem.
When I hear that, I'm like,
I used to be really,
I feel really good about being an American.
Now I'm almost embarrassed
because of the way Americans treat people,
the way our politicians lie,
the corruption,
the dirty dealing,
the fucking oligarchs taking over the world.
Like, on our, we're the ones.
We put Trump in office, not me,
but, you know,
this United States that we live in this country, we are responsible for the global collapse
of the American brand because of this administration. And so every time I hear that, because all of
the people that voted for Trump and are still raw, raw, MAGA, they're all in on this shit.
They love the American flag. Trump hump the American flag. He's their guy. So now those things
have been tainted for me because of this movement, because this movement stands for
everything that I believed America was not wrongly or rightly and naively.
But now it's like, I'm like, they've just turned it into something so filthy, dirty because of their hatred.
That's just how I feel about it.
I completely agree.
And I just want to point out that everything MAGA hates, every time I see a clip from Fox and they're talking about something they hate,
that shit that I love. I love multiculturalism. I like mariachi bands. I like the
black excellence that permeates through all of our sports. And I think these players get to have
autonomy and agency. And if they want to speak about politics, they get to because I believe in
the First Amendment. And I believe in being welcoming to refugees. And I believe that immigration
has been a part of the United States
since its inception
and will always be a part of the United States.
I believe it's a huge contributor economically.
And everything they love,
I fucking hate.
I hate white white supremacy.
Right.
I hate Jack Posobiac.
I hate racism.
I hate homophobes.
I hate hypocrites.
Yeah.
Everything they hate, I love.
But I do think we also have to point out
Maga, and you know this poem.
this is not new. None of this is new. They have always felt that the flag is theirs. Patriotism is
theirs. The U.S. military, they have a monopoly on that. They have always been racist. They have
always referred to Hispanic and Latino people and very disparaging racist names. I heard it
my entire life and my parents are not bigots at all. So this doesn't surprise me. I just think with
social media, you just see it so much more with an assist from Trump as the accelerant that
has exacerbated it.
But this is, this is not new.
This is not new at all.
They always do this shit back when Colin Kaepernick took the knee, which to me is like the
most patriotic, cool thing you could fucking do.
And the way people treated him and the way in our hometown of Oklahoma City, when
the Black Lives Matter stuff was going on
and the NBA put on the courts like BLM
and the players could put like freedom or whatever on their shirts
there was a stage five meltdown with the season ticket holders
in the heartland of America, Bible Belt country
where they were like, I'm not going to go to these woke sports anymore.
It's like they only like the Oklahoma City Thunder conditionally.
If these black men perform, win and shut the fuck up.
if they mention their blackness or if they mention inequality, these white people get so triggered by it that they're like, I'm not going to be a fan anymore.
I'm not going to renew my season tickets.
And it's disgusting.
And you see this at its highest in the most religious parts of the country.
The most religious people in the Bible Belt are the most hateful and the most races.
Also, they were the ones who were in the KKK.
They're the ones who fought against segregation.
They're the ones who went out and voted for Trump.
They're just, they're a cancer in this country.
Well, and they think that they're better than everybody.
And it's okay.
They dehumanize people so much that throwing the mariachi band under the bus is no big deal
because we've dehumanized everything.
I was reading an article.
And I like, I teared at and I'm not a crier about those kids in Texas just recently that
were in immigration hearings by themselves.
And I know this is not new.
It's been going on.
But it was these stories and these, it broke my heart.
What we're doing to these kids.
And this is, again, it's not like it just started yesterday, but it's just, it's so heartbreaking.
And you're right.
It's the Christian population in these bright red states that's like, well, that's fine.
I mean, they're nine years old, but they're Mexican.
Fuck up.
It's so sad.
I mean, it, it breaks my heart.
Truly. No, it's absolutely horrific the way the government is treating the immigrant population, brown skin population right now. It's absolutely horrific that J.D. Vance will not advocate to make this country safer and better and more equal for his mixed-race children. He'd rather kiss the ass of Donald Trump and Peter Thiel. It was just absolutely staggering. That level of disconnect and parenting is,
is something I just genuinely don't understand.
I, I, the sociopathy and psychopathy involved in doing that to actively say, I have brown skin
kids and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure white kids have every assist they
can and that my kids have it harder and less safe is really just a stunning, stunning thing.
The ability of these MAGA parents to make the world less safe for their children because
they favor the recreational cruelty over helping.
people and they do it all in the name of Jesus. Tax fucking mega churches. All the shit incubates
there. Tax them, tax them, tax them, tax them. I think we've got to deal with that. One of the
band members responded to the racism. Let's pop this up. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to perform
the United States National Anthem for the NFL game between the Chicago Bears and the Eagles. And it was
incredible to do so with love and respect for a great nation. However, a huge, a huge,
huge wave of racist criticism has emerged.
All right, listener, I'm an avid exerciser.
I try to exercise five or six days a week.
And I heard all this scuttlebut about creatine.
Oh, you've got to take creatine.
Oh, you've got to take creatine.
And I always think, well, that's a racket.
I mean, everybody's always trying to schlep something on you.
Well, it turns out there really is something to this.
So I started taking momentous.
Momentous creatine is one of the most research.
and effective supplements available. But as the category has absolutely exploded, most brands focus
on flavors, formats, and marketing instead of actually making the creatine itself better.
Momentous created signature spec creatine. It is their most advanced creatine ever, setting a new
standard for creatine quality. And the benefits of creatine, you guys, they are so real. It support strength,
power, lean muscle growth, recovery, and even improved cognitive performance. I've been taking
Momentus creatine, and I can assure you the quality is absolutely worth it. Listener, if you want to try
Momentus signature spec creatine, head to LiveMomenus.com and use code had it for up to 35% off your
entire first order. That's livemometus.com with the promo code had it for up to 35% percent.
percent off. Live momentous.com promo code had it. This is going to be, these are the little
micro things that for the longest time when I was around racist, when I was around people like
this, I let them know on a local, local micro level, you're not welcome to be around me.
You're not welcome to my kindness. I'm not going to
to silently be kind to you and be polite when I know that you're a bigot to your core to make
you feel like, oh, well, she's a Democrat and she's nice to me. And that's what it takes to defeat
this kind of stuff. The government is a big picture that has to appoint policies of equality.
But in our own personal lives, especially those of you, those beautiful blue dots in red states,
there are ways that you can let people know your racism is abhorrent and unacceptable to me
and when you're around me you're going to feel it you want to judge them well i'm going to judge
you 10 times more you want to hate them i'm going to love them a million times more and i would
much rather my children watch the mariachi band than some shit show kid rock abomination you know
yeah no you're exactly right
It's little, I mean, for me, you have, like, starting in my family is when I started kind of putting my foot down.
And you know what I found out?
They're bullies.
They don't want to back it up.
You know, they won't cut.
They'll just drop it, I guess I should say.
They don't argue.
That's what I found to be the most surprising thing to me about it is they're not, they're not fighting for it.
They're just saying it.
And so then I'm the asshole, I guess.
but they just drop it. I found that to be weird.
In the instance of me, then they make it like, oh, she's unhinged.
She's crazy.
You know, and it's just like, no, no, you can do that all you want to.
But I'm not the crazy one.
And history is on my side on this.
And it's this is why I think a lot of these people exclusively hang out in these white circles
so that they can live.
And they're so triggered by shit that they enjoy all the time.
You know, I wish I wish I could be like the petty president of the United States of America.
And in my pettiness, I would create some technology with, I'd make, I'd get some oligarch to be my
slave and say, you don't get to have your money anymore, but you have to make technology for good.
And that technology I want you to make is that if a racist tries to watch a football game or a
basketball game that's dominated by black athletes, blocked.
They cannot do it at all.
That's brilliant.
You have to block that from their television show.
They want white America.
They will, that's what they're getting.
Zero multiculturalism.
They're going to go to FERS cafeteria for lunch.
And that's it.
That's the list.
You do not get to listen to any music other than white people music.
And basically I'd make them listen to Christian rock all of the time.
You can't even listen to a white band if they advocate for universal human rights.
No, Mackle more for you.
You can't even listen to them.
Only MAGA musicians.
That's all you get.
Because very quickly they would realize, oh shit, I really like all that.
I really enjoy all of those things.
But when you come, I mean, this is just my experience from it.
When you come from a place that your cognitive dissonance extends to,
I believe in magical thinking, yet I can be logical about getting a vaccination or whatever, you know, science, let's say.
technology. I drive the car and I wear a seatbelt because I believe in the technology, even though
magically I think God's in control of everything. And so then you just continue to dis, I mean,
I know I did this. You continue to have cognitive dissidents so much that you can say, oh, I love my gay
hairdresser and vote against gays and they never connect that that's what you're doing. You never connect
reality with I'm an asshole.
I'm never going to let people off the hook because I've confronted too many people in real
time about this. Number one, the racists that I've met, they don't say this shit around
people of color. So they have the ability to discern and to decide when and where is a safe
place to be a racist because they know. The fact that they edit around what audience they're around
as to how or when they're going to say it shows an intent. I have confronted many, many,
a white woman about their duplicity in how do you go see this person for a hairdresser and then go
vote against him three times? The answer I get was, well, that's just, I mean, that's just the
way it is. It really doesn't affect me policy and I just vote for me. I mean, I know that that's
kind of screwed up, but I'm fine with it. They know it. They know it and they're fine with it.
and I cannot capitulate to right-wing framing that these people just don't know what they're doing.
Now, as it pertains to the religious stuff, I do believe that there is cognitive dissonance in that
to where people can critically think, critically think,
suspend critical thinking to feed into their deeply, deeply indoctrinated lizard brains
that, oh, well, the earth is only 5,000 years old.
and then outside of that, they can go back.
But when it comes to these choices of being racist,
when it comes to these choices of being bigoted,
when it comes to these choices of promoting inequality
and signing up for it,
I have found the people that I personally have confronted
are aware of it and are okay with it, those two things.
For me, I see it, just for my personal experience,
dehumanizing people is such a part of the endocrine.
is religious. I don't know. I'm just saying in terms of religion and how I was brought at.
You, you dehumanize people in your religion because you are so entitled, you are so favored.
And it doesn't matter if somebody's black, white, or green, if something happens to them that you
deem to be, everybody's problems are their own fault because they made bad decisions. And you're
on the high ground because you make good decisions, right? And so you're able to dismiss
people's pain because you believe you are so great and that you have this righteousness.
And it's not conscious.
It just is.
And so I, the dissonance, you just, you start dehumanizing everyone.
And so then nobody matters but you.
Right.
The Christian narcissism.
Yes.
I mean, that was so.
that's one of the things I struggle with the most is how I was able to just dehumanize everyone,
but me and the people that I cared about.
And in general, but it was like, I was never taught like, we're going to go feed the sick
or feed the port and help the sick because it's the right thing to do.
It was, well, we're going to help somebody.
They need us because we're so great.
We're going to give.
It was just that little shift in how I was endocrine.
to think about it that has fucked me up so bad, I think, one of the reasons. There's many.
Well, I think, first of all, I'm sorry that, you know, you've had to spend so much of your life
either being indoctrinated or unraveling from the indoctrination, which brings to a larger, larger
national issue. I mean, you're an example of this of how abusive megachurch culture and
evangelical Christianity in the South is white evangelical Christianity. It's religious abuse,
it's spiritual abuse, it teaches racism, it teaches recreational cruelty, and it rewards it.
There's a reward system for it. And the people that I have met are cruel and when confronted
about their cruelty like it. There is a, yeah, and I get to do that and I really don't care.
Right. I'm entitled to do it. Yeah. And it's, you know, I'll tell you.
I've lived in New York a year now, and I've been thinking about like, okay, what are the differences?
Obviously, nobody has asked me not one time in one year where I go to church or what my faith is.
Not one time.
Not once.
But, and I love Oklahoma City and all of my progressive friends that are confrontational to these structures that stand on business.
I'm shouting out to you all my Westminster School mom friends.
I'm shouting out to you, Vanessa Cunningham.
Those of you that I really, when we were, we would host political parties and we were up against all of these depraved evangelicals and the way they were raising their children, didn't think it was a big deal if their kids used the N-word.
I'm not talking about you because the progressives in places like Oklahoma are the most progressive people there are because they're up against these MAGA people all day, every day.
But in general, there is a cloud of judgment, sanctimony, and righteousness that is just hovering over these Bible Belt towns by the most morally depraved idiots, truly idiots on the planet.
And in the Bible Belt, my God, they feast on and enjoy giving fucks about shit that.
is none of their business.
And of all of the racism and all of the cruelty and all of the sickness that comes out of
Republican white evangelical culture, one of the worst is codependency, that they believe that
what my personal beliefs and the subject of existentialism is their business, that they believe
that the way I raise my children is their business.
It's just, it is such a regressive culture.
Bible Belt culture is just so incredibly regressive.
And the amounts of people okaying things that are unacceptable all day, every day drove me insane.
It literally drove me crazy that I would be so outraged by something.
Like kids, white boys dropping the N-word all the time.
and I would raise a flag to this and I was met with,
I'm just like, this is not okay.
We have to strive for our children to be better.
We have to strive to make things better.
And it's been nice for me to be a part of a community
for the first time in my life
where I am surrounded by like-minded people
that value multiculturalism,
that value, you know, the standing up against bigotry
and racism and have kind of a New York, fuck you about it to that. And it's just, it's been so nice
to be away from the shame and sanctimony and judgment of all of these people that vote for Trump
and then have the audacity that think they're better than other people. They vote for a fucking
pedophile, I mean, alleged pedophile. And then they think they know what's great for kids.
It's just, it's so gross and I'm just so happy to be away from it because I always felt like growing up.
I was an atheist.
I was a Democrat.
And the judgment that you get for being an atheist, my mother had to live as an atheist, her entire life in the Bible Belt.
She said, Jennifer, it'd be easier for me to be a black lesbian and tell people I'm that than to tell them I'm an atheist.
Because atheists just received so much judgment.
and I received it. My mother stayed closeted about hers the whole time, but I've always been
outward, and I was always ready to take it on because I knew morally toe-to-to-to-issue to issue-to-
when I would have conversations that I was more in line with the teachings of their faith than they were.
I knew that I believed in universal health care. I knew that I believe in welcoming refugees.
I was ready to take them on toe-to-to-to-on every issue, and I did all the time.
and I would have these spirited debates with these white women.
And at the end of it, I walked away thinking their religion has ruined them.
And my lack of religion has brought me a clarity through the kindness and radical acceptance
that my parents taught me to not judge people and to know that what other people think is just
not my business.
And so I just think there's a rot in Bible Belt culture.
I think the Democrats need to start a 50-state strategy and they need to confront the way
Tala Rico is confronting the hypocrisy in Texas.
I think it needs to be confronted head on.
I think all the little religious hate academies in Oklahoma need to lose their tax exempt status.
I think Life Church, which is the largest church in America, needs to lose their tax-exempt
status.
It's a business.
It's a racket.
It has a terrible flock.
The only thing political, the Life Church has ever posted on their Instagram,
feed was after the quote unquote assassination temp of Donald Trump, well, that tells you where
their politics are.
So it's all bullshit.
You know, all of it is just what they believe in when you strip it down is also just bullshit.
It's nothingness but control.
Getting high quality sleep is non-negotiable.
I have to have a good seven or eight hours of sleep a day in order to get up and do this
podcast with you guys every single day.
And a big factor in my sleep quality is my bedding.
And I love a good sheet.
Good sheets are so incredibly important to me.
And Bowlin Branch bedding is designed exactly for the kind of rest that I'm talking about.
They have, and these are my favorite, I use these on every bed, signature organic cotton sheets.
They are so perfect.
They're soft yet crisp, breathable, yet warm when you need them to be.
lot of customers start with sheets with bowl and branch. That's what I started with, but I immediately
upgraded and bought the entire bed. And honestly, listener, when your bed feels this good on a cold night,
getting into it becomes one of the best parts of your day. And with Bowlin Branch, you can
immediately feel the quality and they get these sheets and their bedding get better with every
single wash. Listener, it's time for you to upgrade your sleep with bowl.

have it, but I do think you were the first Aseist I ever knew existed, not in California or
New York somewhere.
You know what I mean?
A hypothetical atheist.
Hypothetical.
And I was like 30 years old, maybe.
I can't remember how old I was, but old.
I mean, old enough that I'd not been, I wasn't a child.
And I do remember thinking when I was first having conversations with you, like, why is she for
health care for everybody and I'm not. Why do I think it's a privilege and not a right?
Those are the kind of things. And so I will say this with my full heart. Your morality and your
moral compass way stronger, clearer than the one I was raised with as an evangelical Christian
because I got the judgment, the racism, the hatefulness, the demeaning people, demeaning poor people, the misogyny.
I got all of that.
So when I look back specifically on conversations, I remember thinking that.
And that was like in my brain.
Like if I'm doing all this Jesus stuff, why am I doing this?
You know, there was such a contradiction.
Why does she sound more like him than me?
Right.
She's supposed to be evil.
But again, it's not like it.
You wake up and go to sleep and, oh, yeah, I'm cured.
I mean, it's such a part of you.
You have to, it's just like, for me, it was a thousand paper cuts, a million paper cuts.
Yeah, yeah.
Like one conversation wasn't going to do it.
So you think if you never met me, you'd still be doing all the Bible study shit?
You know, here's the thing.
I would say maybe it would be a strong possibility, but.
because of my marriage and the problems of my marriage,
I knew I had to get help outside of what had been raised with
or I was going to die.
Like it couldn't happen.
I remember.
So I do think that I would have at some point.
At some point, God, I hope so.
Wouldn't it have been terrible if I died like that?
Yeah.
It really would have.
because I think that what's so sad about religion,
those of you that are watching that are Episcopalian or something,
I walk past these churches in New York that are beautiful,
truly architecturally and the messages on the outside.
So I don't mean any disrespect to you.
No, that's not what we're talking about about.
And that pumps grew up around and that pumps was,
they're told what they have to be.
There's no agency.
There's no autonomy.
They trick you and say,
you're choosing Jesus Christ, but they fucking emotionally blackmail you with torture to infinity
unless you accept him.
You're bullied into accepting him.
You're bullied into being a Christian.
And it's not something that like a five-year-old decides, I love Jesus, and here's why.
And that's fucking crazy town.
Because they could easily say, I love Elmo.
And here's why.
I love dinosaurs.
It's about the same type of thing.
But it is sad that a lot of people, you know, never really.
get outside of that and they live in that constant fear. But I intentionally make a point, and I know
people get sick at it. Jennifer always says to remind us she's an atheist. That is by design on my part,
because I want to normalize being secular and I want to go against the stereotype that
evangelical Christians that bullied me growing up and into adulthood, a lot of pumps as friends
are really fucking mean to me when we would have these conversations. I mean total fucking bitches to my
face, telling me to fuck off that I'm going to burn in hell. Not pleasant things at all.
When I'm sitting here saying, I want universal health care. And they'd be like, you're going
to end up burning in hell. What do you think you know? You don't know Jesus. They'd go from a
one to a ten super fast. I say it that I'm an atheist because you can be an atheist and
inherently good and moral and challenge yourself with your own critical thinking. And my
north star is this. My issue when I'm about to make decisions is when I put my head on the
pillow at night, do I want that hamster running in my brain? And I remember here's just a
prime example. You know how when you're in a relationship, you'll have conversations with your
partner or your spouse, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, whatever, about like, oh, I would never
cheat on you because of X, Y, Z. And so I have a crush on this Italian tennis player. His name's
Mateo Baratini. It's hot, 6'5. Go look him up. Gagrio's super hot. And I think Josh and I were kind of
joking around. I was like, God, he's hot. Would you give me a pass for him? He's like, well,
if I did, would you do it? I go, honestly, I wouldn't. Because at the end of the day,
it's, he goes, oh, so you wouldn't cheat on me? I was like, well, it's deeper than that.
It's deeper than cheating on you. It's doing it to myself.
It's when my head hits the pillow at night, do I want that hamster running in my head?
And that one I might want that hamster, the Mateo Baratini one.
But that's probably a bad example.
But I bring it up all the time because being secular, being atheist, being agnostic,
not accepting religious dogma and magical thinking, there's a myth to it that Christians are inherently good people.
Right.
When look at all the people in the federal government right now are Christians, but they are fucking evil as shit. And so I think it's important to normalize being secular and normalize being atheist and normalizing being agnostic. And I just want to point out one more thing about this. When I am critical of Christians, some insecure Christians get very triggered by that. And she shouldn't criticize religion. I mean, she's, I mean, they're just been.
decide themselves at the critique of it. When anybody criticizes atheists or criticizes agnosticism,
I don't personally react to that because I don't care what they think at all. And also,
I want to live in a world where every organization and every thought track or every religion
or every scientific study or every political ideology encourages critical thinking and inquiry
and criticism. I'm fine with criticism of my beliefs of existentialism. It doesn't threaten me.
And I want to live in a world where my worldview is challenged and criticized. If you are in a religion
where my critique of that triggers you, you're not super secure in your religion.
That's the thing, though. Growing up, here's the thing. The whole problem with my evangelical Christianity is I was taught
not only do I have to do it for me, I have to make other people do it.
Oh, that's the worst.
The proselyizing is the, as an atheist is the worst.
It's the codependency with self harm.
Like, you have to do it and you're going to harm yourself.
It's so crazy.
It just, honestly, sometimes I just think that is so fucking crazy.
I don't consider myself to be a rocket scientist.
Okay.
Let me end this with this, Pumps.
You'll look this.
Let me end it with this.
So I saw these memes online.
And it is a gay guy at a door with a book that says the gay agenda.
Oh, yeah.
And they're opening, like opening the door.
And it says, nobody ever knocks on your door to recruit you to be in the gay agenda.
Meanwhile, Christians, Mormons, you name it.
They're out, you know, door knocking.
trying to convert everything in hotel rooms.
I don't know they're the ones with the agenda.
Not the gays.
No.
Isn't that hilarious?
I want to go door to door with an Antifa book.
Yeah.
No, you're so right.
You are so right.
But I do, I mean, it's the arrogance is, I mean, if I had to top five entitlement dehumanization,
arrogance would be in my top five of words to describe it.
just utter arrogance that you're right and you know what's better.
I know what's better for you, Jennifer,
then you know what's better for you.
It is a very thinly veiled arrogance that even just a tinge,
just scratch the surface,
it immediately dissipates and gets into attack mode of the person
that is challenging their thinking.
Because genuinely,
generally,
if somebody wants to do a 10-part series on the DSA,
DSA people are just not going to be offended by that.
They're going to be like, this is what I believe, and this is, and I'm standing on it,
I'm standing on business with it, and I think billionaires shouldn't exist.
I believe government should provide social safety nets for people.
I think citizens united should be overturned.
I think everybody should have health care.
Make all the critiques of me you want to.
I'm never changing my mind.
And but Republicans and evangelical Christians, any sort of critique,
And it's titty baby city like the mariachi band.
Yeah.
And but in my hope is, because it was my experience, just if you start hearing and you start
thinking, then you start thinking in broader terms.
Because a lot of people have never been challenged, never once in their entire existence,
have face challenges or been challenged to critically think about things that they do and say
in the name of their religion.
And one bite at the apple at a time, I think.
Yeah.
And I just want to say this. I have no agenda to convert evangelicals off of anything.
If you want to be evangelical forever, do it. Swing for the fences. I genuinely don't care.
What I care about is the organization of the evangelicals wanting to project their faith onto everybody else while saying atheists and the gays have some agenda, which we don't.
and I don't want religious dogma projected at me.
If you want to stay in that religion forever, swing for the fences.
Don't listen to my podcast.
Go to Bible study.
Go, you know, jack off at Life Church and do all that shit all you want to.
But I don't have any desire to deprogram people at all.
I have a desire to confront racist if they're in my presence and let them know that that is not welcome in my life.
and I have a very firm boundary with that.
I have a moral calling when I was in conversations with, when I lived in Oklahoma, with people
due to, you know, sometimes you're in places with people due to your children's age.
And you're around people that you wouldn't pick normally because your children have picked
each other to be friends.
And so then you're hanging out with their parents.
And when I was in these situations and I would hear these people say horrible things about
sick people that didn't have health care, I felt a moral calling.
to speak up about that. I feel a moral calling to speak up about this mariachi band, and I feel a moral
calling to tell all of the fat-ass people who march their ass into the Mexican restaurant and binge eat,
all that chips and salsa, all those chips and queso, tacos, burritos, chimichongas, fajitas,
and then they have 95 soap apias to boot, and then they get triggered by the mariachi band. I'm telling you,
if I were president in the United States, I would be the pettiest president ever. I would
make sure the triple Trumpers lived and consumed the white culture they so crave.
Only.
Because it's not what they want.
No, no, absolutely not.
You're right.
I'm all for that.
All right.
That's all we have.
Wasn't as funny today.
Sorry, guys.
The mariachi band.
These are important things, though, as we head into the midterms.
To think about, and I just want to remind everybody this, I tell myself this every single day.
everything MAGA hates I love.
I love trans people to infinity and I walk that walk and I talk that talk.
I love gay people to infinity and back.
I walk that walk and I talk that talk.
The same with minorities, the same with black Americans.
And we all have to, we can't just leave everything to be fixed with the federal government.
Right.
In our own personal lives, we can make micro choices to change the people around us.
or tell them to get the fuck away from us.
Those are your two options.
No, I agree.
100%.
All right.
That's all we have.
I really want the videos from millennials,
and I also would like to request,
and this is a big ask.
I want Boomer videos.
Boomers, ask your grandkids or your kids
to help you send us a video.
I know we have some boomer listeners.
Tell us what you think about socks.
Tell us what you think about Trump.
I want some cranky old Bernie Sanders.
I want to highlight America's most
progressive boomers and I want to do a whole series on it I want F bombs I want you know the energy of
the lady I'm too old to protest this shit I want that I want your faces on the videos I want to
hear it I want to highlight America's best boomers on this podcast all right we'll see you all
