Starting point is 00:00:04 Five, four, five, four, three, two, one, go, go. Go, go. So this must be, this must be the earliest we've ever recorded, J. Probably, yeah. Unless you'd count, like, one in the morning or something, so I'm sure we've done that. Yeah, that doesn't count. No, that's late. Like having a little bit of a sleepy first.
Starting point is 00:00:24 At what point does late become early? Like six, five? My gut tells me around, like, four, five. Yeah. When the sun... When the sun... Yeah. When light starts appearing.
Starting point is 00:00:39 But in winter it doesn't appear until like 3pm and then it's gone by 5%%% That's true. That is true. You do have me on that one. And what about in Iceland when it's winter And you get four hours of daylight? True, maybe you can't use light source as the real measurement.
Starting point is 00:00:54 That's for damn sure. Well, to be fair... Because like the sun would come up I think at like 10-ish when I was in Iceland. 10-ish and then it was set at like two. What time of the year were you there? Winter.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Winner? Yeah, that's why there was only four hours. Between 10 and two was the daylight and then it was just dark. That's crazy. Yeah, awesome. I can handle that. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:01:22 I think small bugs have been biting me. Really? It's making me paranoid, yeah. Small little bugs. What sort of bugs? Where are you bitten? Um, I got on my arm. arms.
Starting point is 00:01:36 But I have been going up late at night to the lake with Paisley because it's like the only time outside of this early in the morning where it's cool enough for a dog. I keep seeing people walking their dogs in this heat like 1 p.m. It's like, what the fuck are you doing, man? That's horrible. That's cruel. If you do that, you've got to go fucking barefoot. Yeah, you've got to go barefoot and put a fur coat on.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Yeah. They can't like regulate their temperature. I think it's anything above 21 degrees for dogs or something like that yeah they like can't swear obviously yeah yeah well so I was I heard about
Starting point is 00:02:14 cats because they love it and um they like the heat yeah yeah yeah yeah billy just seems fine yeah apparently cats um like descend from
Starting point is 00:02:26 like domestic cats as we know them come from like deserts like the Sahara desert and just fucking walk about the desert it. And that's probably why they find grass funny on their feet. They don't like the texture? Yeah. So they like sand?
Starting point is 00:02:40 Yeah, I can't like imagine a cat on like a beach. Have you never seen the video of the guy burying the cat at the beach? No. So it's head and then he like buries its tail. When it likes it. Yeah, it loves it. Okay. It's like warm sand on it.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And yeah, so they can actually, they can overheat without realising it. It's why like Billy would would lie in the, the cardboard box. right by the fireplace. Oh. That's kind of dim. They love it, though. Like... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Yeah. I see them like just random alley cats lying on the concrete, which must be like... Cook an egg on it. Yeah. Cook a cat on it. But anyway, this is Brocaust Season 7, episode 28.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I'm Alex joined by Jim. And it's weird recording this early. I'm sipping a red bull because I ran out of coffee. I'm sipping a... ring tea baby it's not as minty gym's on the peppermine
Starting point is 00:03:39 I'm on the red bull floor floor floor that's supposed to be my like bull impression floor you know they go like they snore did I say what episode it was season seven episode 28 yeah that's the second
Starting point is 00:03:56 time say it for a third time now yeah it's got to be odd even so season seven episode 28 It must be the longest brok our season. We're like deep in. Yeah. We're deep in it in this one, boy. Billy Flowers.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Before we get too deep into the show, let me shout out the JAR Media. Patreon and the patrons that make the show an audio version possible. We've got the raw unfiltered MP3 ad free each and every goddamn week. So you can chuck on any RSS feed, a host of choice, or use the Patreon RSS feed that has no ads. or anything in it. No cringy pod bean ads that, um, just randomly, like, appear in them sometimes. Because people were mentioning in the last episode that they, like, press play on it and then, like, a really cringy, like, this is the geek cave type thing. Like, that's, um, that's,
Starting point is 00:04:51 like, part of our artistic design. Yeah, but people were saying, like, they thought it was something I'd put together to fuck with people. And it took them a bit to realize. But yeah, you get your patron names right out in the first or second week of each month, if you're a deba tier or above. And we'll see there's the Jaffter Hour's supplementary video playlist of a million, million videos. I've seen people mention like, wow, I didn't realize there was so many videos in there. And there's so much variety content. Last episode, we did a longer than I was anticipating discussion on the Rupert Lowe and Wanker Joe episode where Joe. episode where Joe Rogan got tricked yet again by a grifter.
Starting point is 00:05:38 No, we can't give Joe that much credit. No, he's, yeah, fuck that guy. If that's not to your style, though, we've got the worst jar memes, debate. Loads are debates, two white boys debate sinners, dead butt, creepy pastor reading. We are a freedom. of speech, far right, debate, comedy. Marxist. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Leninist. Um, Maoist. Uh, all the ists. If there's an est, then it's included here. A freedom-based podcast. I liked that when you were saying that. Italian fascism based podcast. Um, so yeah, go check out that playlist.
Starting point is 00:06:24 It's fucking big and chunky. It's bigger chunky. It's gonna keep you full. So, we don't often talk about this extra bonus of being a patron, but if you bump into either me or Alex in person, and you can prove that you're a patron, we are obliged to give you two belly pats. Legally. Legally obliged.
Starting point is 00:06:46 It's in Alex's contract. And last but not least, the general media group chat. It's a group chat. We'll take little suggestions for the question segment at the end and other little things like this. Let's elegantly shift into housekeeping then when we round off conversations from the previous week and I actually do have a, like, I like when there's like a real housekeeping thing as in like some shit's been going on in the background to report type thing.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yeah, yeah. Got a couple about that. Sabrius 39 said, Alex, I just want to say, I appreciate you fighting the good fight for the IP, sorry, for IP with the Spotify music license issue. I'm interested in more updates in the future. and altruistic wish said hi boys this is a message from one of the spotify listeners will you switch from pod bean as podcast host the jar spotify has been taking down some of the most recent apps as a new one releases stuck up pig as well as the three apps between the wanker
Starting point is 00:07:44 king and the current episode are not available for me this is really demotivated me from listening to the pod i don't always listen to that at the day it releases and it being removed a couple of days later makes it hard for me to keep up with ongoing topics this is not to mention the annoying fucking ads. Pod bean places on Spotify apps. Some people find them funny, but it's really off-putting to me to have shitty air-generated ads. Interrupt the pod. I could only see these as being recent pod bean issues as every other episode before Stuck Up Pig released, perfectly fine. I thought I'd just hop on here to say, sorry, to talk about this, because us Spotify commenters are generally overlooked in the broader jar space. Thank you. Wow. It's not a pod bean issue,
Starting point is 00:08:22 to be clear. This is a Spotify issue. Um, and as far as I'm aware, it's actually fixed now. I've been emailing back and forth for like the past week. With the CEO of Spotify? Yeah. Yeah. God. It's fucking useless.
Starting point is 00:08:38 And I don't know why just randomly those episodes. It must be something to do with a Spotify like copyright bot update thing. Right. That like just scans for certain stuff. So I've had to communicate with all these different companies and none of them really talk to each other or know what's going on. and eventually I just had to go directly to the music licensor who were like, oh yeah, this is just like a constant problem with like
Starting point is 00:09:05 these bot systems, just misflagging stuff even if you have the rights to do it. It's so annoying, but hopefully they're still up. Let me know if they're not. If we're still having issues, no follow that up. But otherwise, yeah, poo, poo, Spotify, poo. F Spotify. And yeah. Not much you can do about the ads.
Starting point is 00:09:26 That's kind of the incentive to hop on the Patreon. It's ad free on there, baby. It's ad free on there, baby. Otherwise, oblong, obshclong says, can we have an episode of a close-up on the blinking lights on the focus right? No. No, you're not getting that. I hate that idea.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Such a bad suggestion. Would never do that. As a matter of fact, I'm going to say it. Block them. this is a short housekeeping actually there's only two more i wanted to cover here herbie fox 6993 says i thought the pigs were laughing until i went in what do you think that means oh i know what that means sounds like code for something i'm assuming it's like an ochja kind of oh the film ochia yeah yeah i'm assuming it's that
Starting point is 00:10:21 kind of concept you know I see, yeah And then you go into the... Problem is I forget like anything we talked about So, um, unless I like note it down. So maybe we're talking about pigs. We often do. The laughter house, maybe calling it.
Starting point is 00:10:38 I kind of like pigs as animals. I like pigs as well. Like the, like Sam Neal's pig, RIP. Yeah, RIP. Not the pig, Sam Neal. Yeah. I found that out the day. after it happened and I was like, no.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Yeah. Do you know what I mean? No. It's not right, yeah. He was like a perpetual 50 year old that dude. Yeah. Yeah, since Jurassic Park. He's just been 50.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Like he was way older than I thought he was. Really? How well was it? He was nearly 80. Fuck. He was like late 70s. Wow. Yeah, you look really good.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Yeah, he did. Well, he was living that real life, you know? He was a human. He was doing human shit. He was doing human shit and like... And pig shit. He's like, um... He's the paragon to like a...
Starting point is 00:11:32 A Jimmy Saval. Yeah. It was like, after the death, all the like awful shit comes out about Jimmy. Whereas no one has a bad word to say about Neil. No, everyone loves him. Everyone loves him. He was an awesome actor. Yeah, fantastic.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And I don't... Yeah, I've always felt like a connection to him with him being like... He's got the like... Kiwi UK heritage. Kiwi UK and dinosaur. Northern Ireland as well, I think, as well. Yeah, because he's in the first season of, uh, piqui blinders, right? Piqui blinders, yeah, he's like the villain.
Starting point is 00:12:07 To be honest, um, maybe he's in it more. Maybe he's in two seasons. But it was after he left the show where I was like, yeah, I kind of checked out. I was like, no. Mm-hmm. That was the hook to me. Yeah, even when he was in Philadelphia. I don't really care about. He always liked him in it.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, RIP to the goat. He was like, um, you just lived in like a small town in New Zealand. Well, he had like a farm, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And we'd just go town to town like trying to... That's, that's like, if you're a fucking movie star and you make loads of money, that's the shit that's like, okay, yeah, I get it. You know, it's like, yeah, just buy a bunch of land and, you know, raise fucking animals and shit.
Starting point is 00:12:51 And have like, he had like a vineyard or something. something. Yeah. Like, there's something human and reasonable about that. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:12:59 yeah, yeah. That's like a real type American dream thing, not to have like a super yacht. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Or like start some fucking like gin business or tequila or like vodka. Every actor has to do that now. Why are they all doing that? It's like,
Starting point is 00:13:14 it's not enough to make hundreds of millions from like pretending to be superheroes in movies. We also have to make real real fucking hundreds of millions
Starting point is 00:13:25 off of our alcoholic benefits because I guess the answer is it's probably what like a group of 50 or smaller that make that much money from unless you're like Robert Downey's right but he's good Yeah but it's always them that are doing Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:13:40 You know Ryan Reynolds or whatever Yeah Ryan Reynolds is the rock Tom Holland Stay in my In my Supergirl video I was talking about um Ryan Reynolds
Starting point is 00:13:55 and the way he always shit talks the Green Lantern yeah right and I looked up how much he was paid for it and it was like it was either 10 or 15 million dollars
Starting point is 00:14:02 yeah so it's like you got the bag and then you get to use its bad reputation and throw all the cast and crew under the bus yeah what the fuck
Starting point is 00:14:12 you get to just like then go on to make even more and have your shitty gin and all apparently the gin's all right to be honest but yeah but he won't have anything
Starting point is 00:14:22 to fucking do He's just a face. He's a face on it, yeah. Yeah, when I was in Canada and went into like a booze, boozy. Oh. It's got a special, like the extra big Ryan Reynolds faces all over it because he's, of course, Canadian. Yeah. How chill they are.
Starting point is 00:14:37 They produce some, like, monsters, don't they? Yeah, Canadian celebrities just seem to be fucking assholes. Drake. Yeah. I can only think of two, Drake. Jordan Peterson, Stephen Crowder. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:52 even crowd a Canadian. I can't remember if he was born there, but he definitely was there or has, you lived there. I hope he is, because that's like the funniest. That's hilarious. That's awesome. And last thing for housekeeping here from Ed Mac 8212, Sony's, this is continuing on this ongoing Sony physical game debate thing. Sony's gaming physical media game disc scandal is being hated more than movies or music going streaming only because film studios and artists have still been a
Starting point is 00:15:22 allowed to serve collectors in the physical market through niche labels like Arrow video putting out Blu-rays or music companies still putting out CDs and vinyl. With games, Sony is preventing devs like Kajima who still want to print discs from doing so by completely shutting down its factories. Other types of physical media were allowed to keep living on in a limited niche form. That's why people are mad compared to movies being mostly streaming now or whatever. And the Sylvia Craft says, also it's not that hard to make your own DVD in Blu-rays. It's basically impossible to do that for games. I do it all the time for games.
Starting point is 00:15:57 So. Yeah. Yeah, I think they're just being stupid, to be honest. Stupid ass. I managed to put a game on a fucking vinyl. That's cool. I put Red Dead 2 on a vinyl. Yeah. I've never really gotten into the...
Starting point is 00:16:12 It would have to be like 100,000 vinyl. Yeah, could you imagine? Yeah, I forgot I was going to say. Pooh, poo and a dash of wee, sprinkling a fart. You said you never got into. Oh yeah, like the physical collecting thing. The one that's really getting me is vinyl. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:32 There's something cool about that because, like... There's... To me, it's the actual, like, the thing itself, you know, is like... There's layers. It's this needle, like a physical needle gliding over this big, like, disc. and that is generating sound. That's cool in and of itself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:54 The feedback of it. Yeah. And the artwork on each of the covers. Like, I've never seen video games in that same way. I've never even seen movies like that, really. Yeah, I wouldn't collect movies. I collect books and I collect final. You know?
Starting point is 00:17:17 Yeah. The rest are just like, like entertainment for brain rot you know yeah to me it's partially like um going to record stores as well yeah like as you travel around like there's usually like a cool weird one like wherever you go and it has the same like personality and you there's that like uh loop box like chance I'm like, oh, I'm going to find something cool. Like when I was up in Liverpool, um,
Starting point is 00:17:49 recently to see, uh, my chemical romance, which I didn't mention on here, actually, the Black Parade Tour. Um, they,
Starting point is 00:17:59 yeah, popped into a local record shop and found, uh, the Beatles. They did have a special Beatles thing, as you'd imagine. Yeah, um,
Starting point is 00:18:10 no, there was like a, just like a diastrates record there. Oh, cool. I used one like really cheap and it's like, let's go. Well, the, um, the scary monsters and super creeps album you gave me, um, the David Bowie album and like the cover is fuck. Yeah, it's like old. And it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:18:29 It's like, uh, yeah, we listened to it the other day. And you can, and I'm pretty sure I got that in Hey on Why in Wales. I think he did. Yeah. So it's cool like, yeah, this like, it's like another little story to it as well. Yeah. Where you found it imagining how many times it's been played. where it comes from. It's cool.
Starting point is 00:18:46 It's also a really good neck. Yeah. Yeah, someone looked after it. Yeah. Do you want to do a CBT? Oh, we haven't done a CBT for a minute. Yeah. Yeah, let's start with the CBT then.
Starting point is 00:19:01 I've got two good suggestions here. Oh, they're both. No, I won't spoil it, actually. But yeah, things we haven't done one for a bit. CBT stands for a cringe-based tough where I whip out some quotes from important philosophers or, you know what? They don't even have to be important. It could be fucking Joe blogs down the road.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Yeah, Joe blogs down the road and his famous blog, Joe's blogs. Joe, blogs, blogs. So this one is a, no, I'm not going to give you anything. I'm just going to go straight into it. This is a good one. jealousy is just love and hate at the same time oh that's kind of based
Starting point is 00:19:48 you like that that is a good one yeah there's something true about that yeah a little based sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination um uh
Starting point is 00:20:06 it's definitely not tough there's something a little bit plat-plat about that yeah I'm gonna go like cringe based because like it's it's still true. It's like a platitude, yeah. Yeah. Like it doesn't take a, a particular individual of... Yeah, they're not getting credit for like saying that for the first day.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, they might have credit for this one though. I like sweaters. I have a sweater obsession, I guess. Um, I like that. Uh, I'll say based because I can't argue with them saying, that they like sweaters. True.
Starting point is 00:20:49 But I guess we can we can now determine that this is probably an American based off using sweater. Because this is a really good one because I'm not sure if you're going to guess it. Maybe as we go along. My mother made me truly appreciate women.
Starting point is 00:21:10 That's, um... Yeah, based. Sure. Yep. Yeah. Pain makes you stronger. Fear makes you braver. Heartbreak makes you.
Starting point is 00:21:20 you wiser. It's not Yoda. Not Yoda. I'm talking about Yaddle. I'll go based again. Damn, okay. We're getting mostly based across the board, apart from the cringe-based one. A relationship can give you a gut-wrenching feeling sometimes. It's a real emotional ride.
Starting point is 00:21:50 That's cringe. I don't really have a gimmick or a thing I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day Oh Cute Cute Um Cute based up
Starting point is 00:22:14 That could be that could be based or cringe depending on who it is Okay Do you know what I mean? Like if it's Yeah No that makes sense Yeah What does your gut say, though? What does it gutterily say?
Starting point is 00:22:32 I'm going to say based. Okay, a moment. I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down. That's pretty cringy. Reviews condition people. At the end of the day, a lot of human minds are malleable. They can easily, sorry, they can be easily shaped. with strong words.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Uh, based. That's kind of base tough. Because I, I had, I had an experience like this just yesterday, um, where like, I saw like a clip from a movie and I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:16 oh, I might check that out and then I looked it up on letterbox to add it to my like, yeah, watch list. And then I saw the review and I was like, oh, um, it was some like French film or something.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Um, and then, Then I thought, oh, I won't put it in my watch list. And then I thought, hang on. Why? Because some wanker. Because some wanker said that they didn't like it. Or like, even if the majority of people say they don't like it, what if I like it?
Starting point is 00:23:44 You know? Yeah. But there is some shit at the same time where it's like, I'm not going to waste my time. Like grown-ups or something. Yeah, you've got to, like, apply your filter through it, you know? Hmm. Um, or like, find critics that you like respect. Like if Mark Commode or something, it's like really screaming for or against something, I'll be like...
Starting point is 00:24:09 Well, I find it's like if you follow a reviewer, then you kind of can gauge what they're into. And then you can use their perspective to inform yours. Yeah, yeah. You know, so sometimes when they're certain critic, well, it's the case with a lot of like, um, Um, like if Ben Shapiro doesn't like a movie, then I'm probably going to like it. Does that make you a good critic? Yeah. He's actually, did it?
Starting point is 00:24:41 Yeah. I suppose he's into like music and stuff. Yeah. Um, when you're on the road and moving city to city, when someone isn't there at the end of the night, you feel empty. Um, it sounds kind of down bad, but I, But it may be true, you know, I've never gone city to city on tour. I'll go, it's also kind of cringy, so I'll go cringe based again. I feel connected to my generation through the music.
Starting point is 00:25:20 But I also fear for us. We're in a very self-destructive state where we're addicted to outside opinions and we all feel like we have fans. Mmm, that's based. I kind of like that. Two more. I respect Chris Brown. I'd like to call myself a friend. I don't know if I'm allowed to do that.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Cringe. What the fuck? Am I going to hate this person? There's one more. These aren't lyrics, just straight inspirational soulful words of wisdom. Is he talking about, um, assuming it's a man, that's the patriarchy at work right there. There you go.
Starting point is 00:26:05 That's patriarchy. You're fucking good. That's the fucking patriarchy, you're a fucking misogynist, for God so. We live in a patriarchy, dude. Bring on the matriarchy, dude. That one was cringe. You can't, I...
Starting point is 00:26:20 Yeah, that was cringe, dude. You mean the matriarch from Gears of War? Yeah, so do you have any guesses? This was a really good one of like, just little hints, but not giving you anything too obvious. So you know they're friends with Chris Brown. They want to be friends with Chris Brown. Make music.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Yeah, they make music. They wear sweaters. So probably from that hemisphere. They're American. Canadian? Yes, they're Canadian. Is it Drake? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Yeah, this was from AJ Hunter. He's said some fucking cold shit, to be fair. The one we've all been waiting for, CBT for the goat, the Iceman itself, Drizzy, Aubrey Graham, the boy, the certified, the cringe lord and master behind classics such as Cheetahprint and Waguan Delilah. Please get Airport Gym to react to these bangers. You want to reassess any of those? Can we just run through them again? Because weirdly, even though I know who it is, I'm actually feeling like I stick with a lot of these. Jealousy is just loving her at the same time.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Yeah, I... That's fine. Yeah, nice one. Sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about the destination Yeah, that one was cringe. I like sweaters. I like that about Drake. I like knowing this.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Because whenever Drake leans like... Bad ass. Gay. Whenever he leans like... Like, I can imagine him. You know that photo where he's like... He's like covering his mouth with the bit of the sweater. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:59 It makes so much sense. It's like... Fruity Drake is... Prime Drake. Ooh, so good. Yeah. Oh. My mother made me truly appreciate women.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Yeah. Pain makes you stronger. Fear makes you brave. Heartbreak makes you wiser. I can't remember what I said. But Drake talking about heartbreak is kind of ironic. Relationship can give you a gut-wrenching feeling sometimes. It's an emotional ride.
Starting point is 00:28:29 I don't really have a gimmick or a thing. I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day. That's not true. Yeah. Now that I know who it is, that's just a lot. His game ain't cool thing is just to like steal from what I'm kind of trending. I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down. I guess he's kind of proven that to be true with the way he's still dragging out of the Kendrick beef.
Starting point is 00:28:59 He's not back down, but he's like, he's like in the corner. and like everyone's having a party. Yeah. What about the reviews condition people won? I mean, as a sentiment, I agree. The sentiment, yeah, but coming from him, I feel like it's funny. Yeah, because he's beefs with, he's beef with like Fantano, hasn't he? Yeah, the whole vegan cookie thing. Do you know that, like the details of that?
Starting point is 00:29:29 Not in any real detail. It's fucking embarrassing. So, um, Drake DM'd, Fantano and was like, fuck you dude, blah, blah, blah. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He just, like, was like being a dick or whatever, like insulting Fantano. And then Fantano makes a video saying, Drake sent me the best vegan cookie recipe.
Starting point is 00:29:55 Just to, like, troll. And then Drake was like, no, I didn't. Here are the screenshots. That's so, well, he got baited that. Yeah. Whereas he could have actually, like, played off the vegan cookie recipe thing and, like, yeah. I feel like you're just, like, legitimizing someone if you, like, if you react like that, you know, like, you're Drake. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:19 You know? Like, yeah. You're just signal boosting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a very, um, sensitive man, I think. Yeah, as you can tell him his quotes. I wish he could tap into that with his music more. I know.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Because there's shit in there. Like, he's got. he does have some sort of talent going on. Yeah, B-Bee-Bee-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B, but the lyrics in B-B-B-B-B-B-B-suck. Unlistenable, shite. Yeah, it's trash. It's genuine horseshit. But if he tapped into, like, that vulnerability and that, uh, honesty with himself,
Starting point is 00:30:58 but he's, like, he's, he's been lying to himself for too long, I think, to come to their realisation. Yeah, yeah. so that was some good Drake yeah that was good I kind of got got there with that one
Starting point is 00:31:09 yeah no that's fair enough though um so I did want to bring something up you know just just an episode or two
Starting point is 00:31:17 ago I was talking about how like Twitter like hated me and wanted just me yeah yeah yeah they wanted me destroy
Starting point is 00:31:24 yeah because of set to veg which is just gone out of like the no one's talking about that shit anymore oh yeah
Starting point is 00:31:31 it's just like for a week everyone's like Even, you were telling me even Army Hammers were like embarrassed about it. Yeah, that's right. I forgot to bring that up to you. He said he was like in tears when he like watched it. Really? How can you be a, how could you like be a part of it?
Starting point is 00:31:46 Yeah. Like he says all the, all the craziest shit in the film is like him. Surely he read a quote unquote script of whatever. Do you think he thought he was playing the villain? I don't know. I feel it is, it seems kind of like, um, just trying to like, not the opposite of Fan the Flames I did find it weird
Starting point is 00:32:11 that he would do a movie like that when he's been in like Call Me By Your Name and shit Call Me By Your Name and like Social Network Yeah Which is like a biting Yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:32:24 And there's a sequel to the social network coming out The Social Reckoning Yeah it's coming out this year Is it Fincher? No Okay It's Aaron Sorkin who wrote the script for the social network, but didn't direct it.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Right. But he's directing it this time. Oh, okay. Yeah, I don't know about that. I'll see it because of Jeremy Strong, who I love is playing. Like, he nails the fucking voice. It's crazy. Really?
Starting point is 00:32:50 Yeah. He's an amazing actor, but I don't know if the film's going to be any good. Right. It's a shame. I wish Fincher was coming back because it feels like, there's like a lot that has happened since last time. Yeah. A lot of commentary to make.
Starting point is 00:33:04 it's uh the thing is I watched the social network semi recently and um I don't know if it paints him as enough of an asshole and gives you enough of a full picture you know like um
Starting point is 00:33:21 it can't yeah because it came out in 2010 remember yeah yeah yeah um but that's the thing like uh there there wasn't the the awareness of uh like the billionaire problem back then.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Well, the algorithm problem to the same thing. Yeah, yeah. There's so much to expound on now. Yeah. But yeah, so basically I, I uploaded this, I've got this ongoing gag on I, HETV where when a new Disney remake comes out, I just re-upload the same review, but just like dub over really badly. I like, on my phone record, like saying Moana.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Right. Instead of whatever it was before. So it's like three layers deep. now. Yep. With the base level being, I think, snow white. So it's snow white, then Lila and Stitch, and now Moana's like on top of it. It's like this nice layered thing.
Starting point is 00:34:16 And just some random dude, this is how like Twitter works now, I guess. tweeted like, I know some people don't like him, but IHETV doing this bit where he re-uploads the same exact review with very minor edits for each and every Disney live action remake is genuinely one of the funniest things I've seen a critic do. And it's like this huge viral tweet on Twitter. You're getting Twitter love. Yeah, so it's like, what? In the space of like a week, it's like both sides of it. Yeah. So what the fuck is like?
Starting point is 00:34:44 He's the goat. Everyone's like, sorry, man. I don't bring this up just to like jerk myself off. It's more because, um... You know why they're actually saying that, though. Why? Because they've got the anti-Disney agenda. They think Disney's like hyper-woke.
Starting point is 00:35:03 So you... being anti-Disney aligns you then in their eyes more. That's what's funny. Like, there's no consistency with any of it because I don't know if you've seen how much hate the Odyssey has been getting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Before coming out and now it's how everyone's like,
Starting point is 00:35:18 yeah, it's best film I've ever seen. Yeah. It's like, changed my life type shit. Yeah. Like, what the fuck? And none of these fucking assholes have even seen it. Yeah, and it was all based on like lies and shit as well. Like, it just totally unbacked information.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Yeah, it's, you know? Yeah, it's, it's bizarre. But what I found super interesting is that, like, the first reply to it is just some other random Twitter user being like, I watch and like him now, but I vaguely remember a title of his back in the day being, I hate feminism. And I'm too scared to check, Loll. And I'm just like... On Twitter? On Twitter.
Starting point is 00:35:57 That was the reply. They got it the wrong way around. Yeah, it's like, dude. You just like make up your own fucking history. history just like rewrite shit yeah it's just a completely like just not what happened I got flamed for the opposite yeah you got flame it for um saying everyone should be a feminist yeah I did yeah it's great I just like what the fuck how can you ever win when it's just like yeah yeah yeah that was in like a tumbler video you can just kind of say shit
Starting point is 00:36:34 You know? Yeah. That's the, that's the landscape that the billionaires want, they? Yeah. They want,
Starting point is 00:36:43 um, you can just say whatever you want. They, they want actual, like, entire societal psychosis. So, like,
Starting point is 00:36:53 nobody knows what is real. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it only helps them. Um, um,
Starting point is 00:37:00 but there's like a weird amount of jar love in there as well. Oh, hell yeah. wankers no well no how no i don't want twitter love i fucking hate twitter loads of bear bears in there
Starting point is 00:37:16 it's just like what the fuck i mean that i like that i like the like infiltrating I love that about jar the jar community infiltrates like other communities and uses like dog whistles to
Starting point is 00:37:30 communicate to signal yeah it's crazy yeah So I like nearly quote tweeted that one being like no, it's the inverse, but then it's just like, why even bother? Yeah, you're not even going to bait me. Yeah, because then you're going to get dog powered. Yeah. That was the plan.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Peter Thiel was actually all these accounts and he was trying to get you. Oh, God. Well, I guess we'll see you after these messages. Rankers on PS5 out now. PlayStation. This is wild. Art the Beast Let's on the hair
Starting point is 00:38:13 Downloading wankers on my Xbox Which one is Bart's real scream Benas, sirly Check please I cut my finger open on chicken yesterday I saw your finger Yeah The little plaster
Starting point is 00:38:29 Yeah On chicken Yeah because I was making Um making ramen broth Um And it was just like tearing chicken a part of my hands, like, ready to pancer it.
Starting point is 00:38:44 And then I just look at my finger and it's just got like a slice all the way down the middle of it. I'm like, what the fuck? Chicken burn. It must have been like a really sharp chicken burn. Then I started crying. That's what you get. Why?
Starting point is 00:38:59 For eating meat? Nah. Eating dino. I can't believe, like, I've been sipping on a red ball. I haven't done the void. once. Yeah. Is the rebel empty now?
Starting point is 00:39:13 Yeah. So now I can't do the voice. Yeah. What the fuck, man. Oh, I fucked up big time. I'm clearly not a morning recorder. You're not a morninger. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I'm kind of a afternoon. I feel like around... Really? Around midday is when my brain is like firing proper. You know? I think I'm an eveninger. Eveninger. Not a nighter.
Starting point is 00:39:39 I'm sometimes I'm a nighter I'm an eveninger primarily part-time nighter yeah but forced to be a morninger hmm
Starting point is 00:39:54 yeah I feel like I've had some of my best ideas late at night yeah you know the most premium like thought space to be in
Starting point is 00:40:07 is when you've been awake for like I don't know 18 hours three days yeah yeah when you've been put in a stress position
Starting point is 00:40:16 by the American government and you're not allowed to sleep that's when you cook up the best ideas so welcome to the second half where we answer questions from the Jail Media subreddit
Starting point is 00:40:31 not R slash FNAF which I still I'm getting like mod messages for like angry people We know he didn't make it Stop it You don't know shit
Starting point is 00:40:49 Yeah idiots So let's Let's get this shit started man Let's start answering some question on y'rs Let's do one from Mr Blue Pumpkin The OG Batman getting to like You see that?
Starting point is 00:41:10 This film's just never gonna come... That you posted like a tease and it's just like him turning around. In the same outfit. Yeah. You know it's been like six years? It's been a long ass time, yeah. It better be fucking good. Yeah, imagine if it's like really like forgettable.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Yeah, it's just like mediocre. Yeah, I don't know. Because it's also kind of like fucked the whole. James Gunny University because they can't use that character Yeah Really? Yeah, I think DC
Starting point is 00:41:45 I think they're kind of cooked I think they are kind of cooked And they're I think I mean it may be Because they're owned by like Warner Bros, right? And Warner Bros. Fucking suck. Yeah, they're evil.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Everything they touch just turns to piss. Yeah, that's right. They're being bought by Paramount? Yeah. Ugh. Which is equally terrible It couldn't get worse Yeah
Starting point is 00:42:10 Yeah So yeah Nice one man Fucking fire man Yeah we might get the suicide squad too though Nice The video game I mean Oh
Starting point is 00:42:21 Even better Even premiumer Um and they said Also saw this while pissing in my pub During the footy You probably already saw And it's like a gross Aim high vote low
Starting point is 00:42:34 Stop the boat sticker which Mr. Blue Pumpkin took down, which is nice. Hell yeah. You watched the footy, right? Yeah. Well, no. Did you leave after? No, so, um,
Starting point is 00:42:52 the original plan was to go to the pub. Watch the football. Right. There were delays, so we got to the pub late. Yeah. Was it packed? It was packed, so we couldn't get a seat near a screen. So we,
Starting point is 00:43:05 we like watch the game through people's reaction to the game. Oh right. You should just come here. Yeah. Well, we were meeting someone there. Yeah. It had already been planned, I'm afraid. But I'm glad I missed it, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Yeah, it was like the first half was just like rugby. It was like vicious for something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, because the, the, um, the, the, um, the, the, um, the, Argentinians have a chip on their shoulder about the Falklands. Have you seen the, like, the football players, like, held out a sign that was like... Uh-huh. It's ours.
Starting point is 00:43:46 It's like... My understanding is that the UK had it before Argentina was even a country. I'm pretty sure the... The U... Like, it's like the one bit of land that's like, okay, for... Because we actually found it. Oh, it's just an army vehicle. Yeah, there's always, um, American bombers.
Starting point is 00:44:05 flying over in sort of Iran's general direction. Every day. Literally every day. It's the war. It's fucking... Yeah. Just a little reminder that's going on. It's fucking disgusting. Like, it makes me feel sick.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Yeah. Like, the one that killed all those... Those... 200-odd children probably flew right over there. Yeah, yeah. Fucking disgusting. Yeah, and then, like, 85 minutes in, late England's score,
Starting point is 00:44:32 and then lose in the next 10 minutes. Yeah, yeah. It was like what the fuck is happening? No, because what happens with England, if England scores first, they lose. Right. They have to be on the back foot. Because otherwise they don't get their finger out. And then they, uh, they went all defensor mode.
Starting point is 00:44:52 They put out the defences. It is just video game shit. Yeah, it is. Well, the strikers, we're the defenders. I'm team defensor. It's like Gives of War enemies. It's like a Mario charged football. Who was your main in charge football?
Starting point is 00:45:17 Um, oh shit. I think you were Hammerbro from member. No, yeah. Wait, could you play it? I thought that you just had one on your team. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but like you'd like a leader. Yeah, well, but you, yeah, you'd have a leader, so you'd have like Luigi or Waluigi or whatever.
Starting point is 00:45:35 But like the best. Like, I'd always gravitate towards, like, past the dry bones, because he can do the roll and then, like, teleport. So if you, if you time it just right, you could roll and teleport past the fucking goalkeeper. It was such bullshit. Awesome game. It was so much fun. I love that. Hammer Bros.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Like, you just throws a million hammers. Yeah, he jumped, like, way into the sky and, like, slams a hammer down. Yeah. Like, and, yeah. That game was goaded, man. And they go, like, super sane. Like. I should get that on we.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Shit, yeah. I completely forgot about Strykers. Yeah. I had until this very moment. Yeah, that's funny. I remember I had a cricked neck once. It was the scariest thing. I woke up for school.
Starting point is 00:46:19 And my neck was stuck, like, my head was stuck to my shoulder. And so I set up a chair in front of the TV. I just played Marrikes' Charge Football fucking day. Good day. That was a good day. But it was scary at first because of the neck. Because part of you thinks like is this just my life now? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:42 I couldn't straighten my neck. It was really freaky. Yeah. Um, Hey Alex, it's the Buffalo here. Says, what's your biggest regret in jar? Any regrets? Oh, for both of us. Biggest regret in Joe.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Um, just the like, um, early jar. Like, how right wing early jar was. Right wing, yeah, how right wing I was, and I guess what comes with that is like saying slurs. Yeah. Not cool. I'm very disappointed in my younger self for that. Yeah, that's, uh, outside of that stuff, I don't really know what else it would be, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I'm trying to think if I've had any, like, crazy opinions about media or such like. Oh, right. I don't regret those at all. Like, media opinions. Like, some people, like, really chase me up on shit. Yeah, yeah. I'm like, I don't even remember saying that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:01 It's like the Thanos. I don't even know who you are. Yeah. Thomas Marsh says, I've recently discovered a love for pinball. It's quite a niche type of entertainment, apparently. Do either of you have any interest in, niche types of games and or other types of entertainment.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Angry Birds is pretty good. That's not niche. Yeah, it is. It's not. It's got a new movie coming out. Really? Yeah. I never saw the first one. They're really good.
Starting point is 00:48:30 I heard they're really good. They're better than Toy Story. Weirdly sexual, though. Weirdly sexual, weirdly, passionate. I like red, you know? Yeah. Everyone posts of that fucking eagle.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Anyway, this is nothing to do with the question. Yeah, true. Niche. I like Mario Strikers charged football. If it has Mario in it, it doesn't count as niche, right? Maybe Paper Mario. That's kind of niche. Even that, it probably so.
Starting point is 00:49:01 No, Mario Strikers Charge Football is more niche than Paper Mario. Paper Luigi, paper. Paper Jar. I regret not doing Paper Jar sooner. That's my regret. What do you mean sooner? it's not it's not been done um some people are really like they're like game people you know like board game like they've got loads of different like wacky games or like d and d or something
Starting point is 00:49:27 like that's a board game isn't it kind of it's a tabletop i did yeah tabletop's a bit way of yeah i don't know if you'd call it yeah not bored um see i'm not one of those people so i don't know all the all the rules i'm not it's people that like rules a lot you know yeah whereas i hate rules Yeah, a couple of rebels, us You know what rules are for? Suckers Yeah Hello, I'm the
Starting point is 00:49:52 I'm the game master And you're under my command Yeah, fuck you That's like the game of D&D Yeah Doesn't get further than one Oh, you roll Yeah
Starting point is 00:50:06 Oh, you rolled a one So your orc Niche types of games Prematurely came No he didn't fuck you there are a couple though that like really tickle my pickle
Starting point is 00:50:17 you know like Boulder Dash is good Boulder Dash is good Bodardash is good Bodhis What no fucking Perido Lys dice Perudo is
Starting point is 00:50:25 Lys dice is the goaded fucking game of all time It's the perfect balance Of like skill and luck And tension Yeah And epicness Yeah
Starting point is 00:50:38 And it's like social It forces you to, like, that's what the best games do. Read people and shit. Yeah. Like Mousetrap. Yeah, snakes and ladders.
Starting point is 00:50:51 The goat. Mouse trap was fucking awesome, though, back in the day. Marble Run? My, yeah. You don't need to get me started on Marble. We know how you feel about Marble Run. It's Kinker.
Starting point is 00:51:13 That's my jar. regret is not actually building the Marvel run before pissing in it. It was such like, what was the thought? It doesn't add up. Like, why just piss? It's just like pissing in a bucket of items. I think that was just my like protest. You know, I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:51:36 But why? The Marble Run was cool. Did we throw it out after that? Surely it's stank of piss. I remember that. That tub with the red lid and the white like tub. It was like a plastic barrel. Yeah, it stank.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Because it was full of piss. I don't know. Hey kids, do you want to play with the marble run? No. Don't take the lid off. Why does it smell like that? Yeah. Why is it wet?
Starting point is 00:52:06 It's a little bit soggy this marbling run. Um... Have we done? Have I told, have I told, I'm sure I've told this story when I pissed out the window. Oh, like, told the audience, you mean? Yeah, surely. I don't remember, you can tell it again because it's funny. So, um, we did a three-story house.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Um, and I lived in the top room. And at the time, my mom smoked. And I'd gone to bed. And I've definitely told this before. I'd gone to bed, but, you know, when, you got to pee so you can't sleep because you got to pee I was like
Starting point is 00:52:51 fuck I got to pee but I had these really like steep stairs I had to go down to go to the toilet so I was like fuck I'm just gonna piss out the window um you know put my little todger out the window and let rip mission success go back to bed and then like
Starting point is 00:53:08 two minutes later I here's footsteps coming up the stairs Jim, did you just, like, pull some water out your window or something? It's my mom, who was obviously outside having a cigarette. I don't know how, I don't know what her perspective was. If she caught just the end of it or, like, open the door, the back door. Yeah. And, like, it landed, I guess.
Starting point is 00:53:39 because otherwise you could just look up and see that I was like for the long just pissing out of the window and she was like yeah did you just throw water out the window or like what's going on? And I was like, no the power of just saying no
Starting point is 00:53:58 yeah and she was like oh weird so yeah go on then I'm going to bed yeah crazy
Starting point is 00:54:09 I may have pissed on her. Yeah, it's possible that there's a little bit splashback though. Yeah, or if she opened the door and like took a step and, I don't know, it's possible. I also, I just remember finding it the funniest thing ever to try and convince you to like throw things out the window or just shit like that, you know? Yeah, that was kind of an obsession. You love throwing, um, like my underwear out the window onto like the top of the conservatory. So they'd just be like A pair of like a little boy's underwear on the fucking
Starting point is 00:54:48 Yeah Do you know what I remember I've got a classic This is like my main memory of you This is like you as a person You were in the garden And I could see you like Just launching something like at your window
Starting point is 00:55:11 and I was like, what's he doing? I go outside and I'm like, what are you doing? And you just got a roll of toilet paper and a bucket of water. And you're like getting the toilet paper in your hand, dunking it in the water and then launching it at your own window and it will just go pung on the window
Starting point is 00:55:31 and stick there. And then like he started doing it through the whole house. I did that a lot. Yeah, I think in, At mom and dad's house, there's still a bit of toilet paper on the ceiling of the bathroom. You just fucking launch it. That shit was funny, man. It's so tactile, though, like the splat.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Yeah, yeah. I understand, like, the feedback of it. It's like, that's what you were doing, like, with your Saturday. That's my, like, my niche type of game that I like. Yeah. Is that. Wet toilet paper. yeah yeah it's yeah it's kind of destructive but like on that fine line where it's more like annoying
Starting point is 00:56:17 yeah and like it will like with rain and stuff it will just weather away yeah but it's just like why you're doing this yeah i just picture like dad coming home and just being like fuck god damn yeah yeah the the main thing i remember about it was that like because i then just stood there and watched you doing it for a bit. Because like you said, it was satisfying. Like the smack and the sound and the, the, um, but like neither of us were laughing.
Starting point is 00:56:50 It was like we were at work. Yeah, it's like serious business. Yeah. There's like a job to be done. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's what like making mud pies in the garden was like as well.
Starting point is 00:57:02 Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It was like, oh, what? This is missing some mumami or something. Yeah. Yeah, you start taking it real serious. Or like, um, like, grandma's old, uh, like crank wheel. Oh, the mangle.
Starting point is 00:57:18 The mangle. Yeah, and like the, the mangle in our nan's garden is like generationally. Yeah. Yeah. Like 10 plus children been this like weird fascination. Yeah. I mean, it is a cool fucking thing. Yeah, it's, it's all tactile, you know?
Starting point is 00:57:38 Yeah, mechanical, like. Yeah. that would be a good toy story like thing is like a toy being put through the mangle how dark that is do we ever put a toy through the mango we must have done i remember just putting sticks mostly through it yeah sticks yeah i do think that was a slug on there once
Starting point is 00:57:59 too slimy to go through it yeah it just like launched out um let's do this one from Bart Rockcock I'd love to know the boy's thoughts on Andy as a Mancuni and myself I'm a big fan he was a great mayor
Starting point is 00:58:16 any Jim's expert political analysis on this one um I don't know I mean he's gonna be prime yeah but like from what I hear you know
Starting point is 00:58:29 you might as well put fucking Woody the cowboy action figure in in the Prime Minister's seat like it Labor's cooked um
Starting point is 00:58:40 listen to Gary's economics and that French guy I just think at this point it doesn't really matter who's put into that position until something's done about media that's kind of where I'm at yeah because I think like his
Starting point is 00:59:00 his comms are better like he's more charming people actually like like him compared to Kea the first likable Prime Minister I don't think it's kind of last I think people are going to turn on him pretty quick Yeah once the media
Starting point is 00:59:15 I mean the media is already Doing their shit but also like From what I hear he doesn't really He doesn't have any I think the policy is fairly similar Yeah exactly It's just more like a communications thing Where they're like
Starting point is 00:59:29 Well everyone hates here But it's bad policy Um Well this yeah Let's just have BinFaces Prime Like why not Genia like what's the fucking if anything it would probably be better.
Starting point is 00:59:44 Have you seen the amount of media hate that Bimface is getting? It's the scrutiny. Yeah, yeah, they don't know what to do with him. It breaks it, yeah. It's what I was saying about the Trump thing, kind of. Because that's how everyone was acting about Trump in 2016, if you remember, like, oh, he's the chaos candidate.
Starting point is 01:00:02 He's just anti-Hia. You know? But obviously that, it's like the opposite way I want to go. Yeah I don't know It's just not good, is it? No
Starting point is 01:00:16 You need You need To make progress You kind of need to agree On like a What world you're living in Yeah Yeah
Starting point is 01:00:24 You need to agree on reality Yeah that helps As a baseline That helps And That wasn't really an issue In the same way it is now Like the
Starting point is 01:00:36 The rampant Anti-intellectualism and uh yeah anti reality is where we're genuinely where we're at we all have our own world um yeah it's it's um until someone starts talking about actually taxing the ultra rich then i don't really give a shit i don't know if you watch that interview with yeah i listened to the whole thing yeah um oh it rage baited me though The, just the, and like, Gary's economics gets it as well, like, just the, the, the, the amount of pushback on what should be such, like, a sensible, normal suggestion. You know, maybe, maybe we should all, like, contribute.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Yeah. Maybe especially the people who own everything. Maybe the people who own everything should contribute. Yeah, I find, what I find most interesting about the pushback. is when you look up the people who are pushing back hardest like on Pierce Morgan the debate that was had the other day and
Starting point is 01:01:50 what is it what's the Tory guy on the rest of politics called again Rory Rory yeah but it's they want they want things to stay the same and they if anything they want things to get worse for the poorer because it makes them feel better but it's also like the
Starting point is 01:02:10 I don't like the argument of like It's just impossible What it's like it's not though is it? Yeah, yeah, yeah That's like that's Like it's not impossible Well, I saw a great clip I think it was this morning even
Starting point is 01:02:28 Of Gary saying like Well it's It's possible when like Jeff Bezos gets a divorce Then suddenly they know exactly how much money he comes They can split that out of fine Well that Just finding out that Because of the like tax loopholes
Starting point is 01:02:47 That Bezos uses He was like able to claim Benefits for his children On taxpayer dime Isn't that like just isn't It's fucked It's so fucked And like they like they
Starting point is 01:03:03 They don't pay themselves a salary So that they can act like They don't have any income Like if you can do that, something is wrong. If you can, like, rent an entire city for your wedding, you know, and spend billions on that. Uh-huh. You know, but you don't want to spend any money on, you know, making the road safe, on educating. That's what I find so normal people.
Starting point is 01:03:35 That French economist who's just the goat. He is the fucking goat. He was blanking on his name right now, but um, his kind of fundamental argument that it's like all these, all these billionaires that have built their product on the back of kind of public services, like education of subsidies of all of this. And then when it comes to it, like they don't want to really put it back in in any way. It's just like, yeah, it's just different rules for different tiers of people. But it's, it's, it's, um, it's, it's,
Starting point is 01:04:08 it's so evil you know it's I'm I'm I have no belief that they they're ignorant to the suffering of other people it's it gets them off they need other people to be poor to make their wealth feel better to them I think there is some like weird unfortunate kind of banality to it though from from their perspective where they're kind of like they're not like necessarily mustache twirling in the way they're carrying themselves but they see themselves as like a paragon they're like well I've provided so much good through Amazon then like this is why I deserve it on some level you know yeah it's some of them definitely are mustache too I think
Starting point is 01:04:52 Peter Teal is um yeah teal is uh Zuck I think Musk is probably Muskers yeah I think Bezos is they know they know well what they're doing otherwise they wouldn't be doing it
Starting point is 01:05:07 You know, and it takes a psycho, evil monster, you know, to do that. They're not humans anymore. Especially with someone like a musk who has, it's definitely gotten to his head how like everyone around him is always just like, oh my God, Elon, you're like, you're doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, and you're this genius and, oh, yeah, you're going to save the world. slightly that's what pissed me off in the
Starting point is 01:05:38 I think it was that uh rest is politics where they're talking about Musk saying like well we wouldn't have Starlink if we like taxed him yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:05:49 yes we would have I'm sorry we would have yeah some it would probably be better yeah maybe or like yeah more
Starting point is 01:05:58 fairly owned or something or like the fact he gets all the credit for all of these yeah yeah all the work of like thousands and thousands of real listen to his fucking employees listen to the people
Starting point is 01:06:10 working in Tesla factories listen to the people working under him at space is what I mean about the media thing though it's like it's untenable if everyone is always talking about it that way in that and it's always how he's talked about on like these big platforms yeah yeah yeah fucking talk about him that way and it's just it's entirely fucking disingenuous and yeah god that fucking interview rage baited me. Why? Like, we, um, were sat outside in the garden
Starting point is 01:06:42 a couple weeks back. And I was saying to you, and it's, it's kind of my, my whole thing. It's like, why does any one person deserve more than any other? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:06:54 Why? Especially to that fucking degree. You know, but like, if someone can answer that question to me, reasonably, then I'll concede, but I don't think you can. No one deserves more than anyone else.
Starting point is 01:07:10 It's the obscenity of the gap, I guess, for me, because, like... But that just compounds the same idea, you know? And it's, it's like, if, if, uh, if, if, if I have access to some amenity because of, like, my location, it's, it's not a case of I deserve that. It's a case of it's close to me. Right. Like, like if, if I live near, um, a pub and someone else doesn't, you know, like, I have access to that. Yeah. That luxury. Um, and that, that's a different conversation, you know, it doesn't mean we should build pubs at like equal distance to every house. Right. You know, but like, when it comes to food, housing, um, you know, transport, why, why the fuck do we arrange things like this? It's a bad. bad way to economically arrange things. And the billionaires are always talking about like efficiency and like, oh, we're going
Starting point is 01:08:09 to make AI to make things ultra efficient. It's like, you're the reason shit isn't efficient. You know, if you're siphoning all fucking resources to yourselves, you know, and fucking everything for everyone else. It's interesting because like, whenever, whenever Trump is talking about other countries, he's talking about them as like resources. he's always talking about how like in Ukraine like how rich in like natural minerals they are
Starting point is 01:08:36 and that's like the real value of the country type thing yeah right um which in a sense through that the way we've structured everything is kind of how we do it well this this is how like in within capitalism everything becomes commercialized everything it's what like and it affects people's minds to the point where they they no longer like
Starting point is 01:08:59 Trump, they don't, they don't see as countries being like people first. It's, we don't, yeah, money first. It means you're, what's their value? The model that you're like interpreting the world through is through that kind of material lens instead of us being one organism. Yeah. We're all, we're all sharing this thing together and it does the inverse of that. It emphasizes almost the opposite, where it's like, yeah, well, it's, I mean, that, that, um, like neoliberalism like everyone against everyone you know that that's their belief system and it kind of feels like it's so ingrained within them it's it's like uh like you're saying about the the billionaires that aren't mustache twirling um in a sense they're almost more evil
Starting point is 01:09:53 by turning a blind eye you know like to internal that that Randian, I'm Randian belief of like, if I make as much money for me as possible, then I'm as good as can be. Well, I find kind of most scary about it is the way it, like, absorbs criticism there as well. And like, yeah, yeah. Like how that's happened with art. Yeah. Because it like, every, um, you know, like, how do you protest against, um, like, the,
Starting point is 01:10:26 the genocide in Gaza where you buy a t-shirt. you buy a flag you know you you know how do you how are you anti-capitalist well you you buy merchandise to signify that you're anti that you know we've gone so far
Starting point is 01:10:42 you know um the clash yeah yeah a punk band they they um obviously commercialized um but like they used to make their own clothes as like protest to disengage from like
Starting point is 01:10:59 Yeah, it's like that it just doesn't, yeah, you find success and then Even if your art is like protest art But then you're like You're kind of part of the problem And there's there's no way Yeah, exactly it's this paradox And like even us talking about it on this platform now You know, is like
Starting point is 01:11:25 We are making content for fucking Google It's the same thing. Whereas like, you know, and Mr. Robot or whatever has like an anti-corpo message. Yeah. And it's like it feels good and there's something therapeutic about seeing that message. But it's, um... Well, that's the danger of it is that it can make you feel like you've already done the activism.
Starting point is 01:11:48 By just agreeing with a piece of media. And that's not enough. And I've bought this book that I plan on reading. and Roger Waters made an album of like a similar title but it's called like amused to death. Oh yeah. Yeah, I've heard of that before. Yeah, yeah, it was written in like the 80s. But I, it makes me feel almost conspiratorial with when you start thinking about it in that way.
Starting point is 01:12:19 It's like the, I really enjoyed that movie, the long walk, right? But like, the political one. messaging kind of gets lost in it being a commercial product, you know, and it was like fun to watch. I don't know what you do about that. Yeah, I don't know what you can do either, because making art is like the only thing everyone can truly do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only answer I can really see is like busking that sort of environment or like free shows like it um and the the shit that like the the french economist is doing um whose name we're both blanking on is it gabriel yeah that sounds right gabriel zuckman zuckman yeah um and gary's economics and people like uh jimmy the giant
Starting point is 01:13:20 Yeah, watching interviews with him, he's so, like, eloquent and down to earth and just explains concepts really. I think, clearly, but people frame him as if he's, like, radical. He's, like, so insane. But that's the, that's their, like, wheelhouse, you know, is to frame, like, ordinary thoughts as crazy. you know yeah yeah so i mean i i don't know if you've read it yet but um the we need to tax billionaires yeah i'd be prioritizing of it's like batman to be honest you can read it in like one sitting yeah it's like yeah it's a lovely pint-sized book yeah but is you know it's not vibes based it's like peer-reviewed research based and like this what's fantastic about that he's
Starting point is 01:14:18 Yeah, he's made the argument bulletproof. Yeah. You know, because when I say it, it's like, you know, all these attacks can come and I can't defend it because I'm not a fucking economist. Like, I don't know this shit. I haven't studied it. I'm, um, like, the thing is, what, what I think is that you just have to not be stupid to, to, to agree with him.
Starting point is 01:14:43 You know, if, if you're stupid, then you'll disagree with him. Um, yeah i it's this isn't this isn't this isn't a matter of of politics it's a matter of intellect like this specific you cannot defend billionaires you can't but then like unless you are one what is like what is intelligence at that point when it's like education is so fucking bad you don't teach i didn't i did i personally wasn't talk anything about like econ no it's school god no
Starting point is 01:15:18 No, they got to, that's for private school. You got to pay for that shit. We don't. Well, you have to like specialise in it at some point, which you probably won't, because you're kind of taught that it's boring or even though it's like the core thing that makes everything tick and explains like a lot of stuff about the work. Yeah, but do you think if the general population had a better understanding of economics, then they'd be less okay with staying by and letting billionaires do what they do?
Starting point is 01:15:46 Generally, I think yes. I think they would be infuriated. Yeah. Because if you hear that, Jeff Bezos fact, you should be fucking upset. He can claim benefits
Starting point is 01:15:58 that the same people spread the message that people are destroying the country through claiming benefits. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And abusing these systems. But also, like, you know, they just say they're being smart, though,
Starting point is 01:16:09 if you're using loopholes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That is part of the dialogue. It's fucking disgusting. But you know, like in the UK, there are more empty houses due to various things like people owning second homes and stuff.
Starting point is 01:16:29 There are more empty houses than that there are homeless people. Yeah, yeah, and in America as well. Yeah. So it's like, so that's a choice. Yeah, yeah. What I think about is through, go back to before there were seatbelts, there was a huge pushback
Starting point is 01:16:46 and a significant group of people who were anti-seatbelt. They thought that was like a going too far type thing. Yeah, yeah. It's like we are like a species where any proposed change is always like a significant amount of people who are like, no, no way. That's just insane. You can't do that. You can't put seatbelts in cars. Why?
Starting point is 01:17:07 That's impeding on our freedom or something. It's like, what the fuck you talking about? And when it is for something as like base level as a fucking seatbelt, you have an issue with that you know it's like or drink driving have you seen the interview of the Americans talking about drink driving no when they made it illegal
Starting point is 01:17:27 to drink and drive it's these people that are like so when I finish day of work I can't have my shoes back driving home it's like yeah these fucking communeish we're going to be a common it's insane yeah
Starting point is 01:17:40 so maybe you wouldn't have to worry about that if you had like um fucking London tier public transport You don't even have to worry about that kind of thing really But anyway You do it every time I go to London It's a fucking nightmare
Starting point is 01:17:53 Hate that city It's fucking house I fucking hate this fucking house Right let's do a couple more here That was quite a diatribe Yeah sorry I like edible food says What would you say is the worst ad you've seen
Starting point is 01:18:09 I recently got an ad for a gambling app With an AI Jesus promoting it I don't think you can top that that's fucking hard to top Jesus Christ what a perfect like full stop
Starting point is 01:18:20 to the conversation we're just having well yeah we were just talking about before we started recording is that like shops on like the high street yeah
Starting point is 01:18:31 like for their burger places or whatever now using AI art and it makes them look fucking vital yeah it's creepy all this this influx of AI
Starting point is 01:18:40 oh my God no the worst adverts are the adverts you get on Amazon Amazon Prime when you're watching shit Oh right yeah They're fucking terrifying I haven't seen any of that
Starting point is 01:18:52 I haven't watched anything on Prime Unbelievable What was it in Avert for But like the Adverts looked weird anyway But now they're so Like hyper
Starting point is 01:19:06 Colourful and like The saturation is way up And even when they're not Using AI It looks like It's unbelievable Everything's that grub her bad Yeah
Starting point is 01:19:22 It's like this mesmerizing like It's all the fucking snake from jungle book Just like Yeah But the worst thing about Amazon Is that it will pop up in the corner And it's like order now You can buy it here
Starting point is 01:19:36 Yeah It'll arrive tomorrow And then you're so amused to death That you're just like Yeah I'll get this fairy liquid Yeah, but we're just kind of like scratching the surface of that. Oh my God. Once the, once that metadata is like truly tapped into, like,
Starting point is 01:19:53 all of these companies have really detailed kind of like profiles on you. When that's like good enough, like watered, not the opposite of watered down, like focused enough. Concentrators. Concentrators, what I was looking for, yeah. Yeah. It's like, you won't want to watch anything but ads because it would just know you so well. We're kind of already in the position where it's like, am I watching an advert right now? Like the majority of YouTube content is like, oh my God.
Starting point is 01:20:26 Oh, wait, this is just an advert. This is just an advert for some product that they're trying to pedal. Movies, like it's since they're doing, since the dawn of, what do they call it, product placement. Right, right. Everything's a product. You know, why? Marvel movies. They're selling, like, toys and shit.
Starting point is 01:20:48 Yeah, and everything's a goddamn advert. You know, it's going to get crazy when people are wearing, like, AR glasses that you've got to pay, like, a subscription for, um, augmented reality glasses. And, like, if you pay the lower subscription, you're getting, like, adverts in your fucking day-to-day life. It's going to be insane. It's like motion tracking that, like... Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:11 And they pause if you take them off. Yeah. And you're like, to like have a job, you'll have to wear them or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know? If you work at Amazon, you have to wear the Amazon glasses. Oh, bro, fuck. Yesterday when I popped into Tesco Express, you know, there was a fucking robot cleaning.
Starting point is 01:21:30 And it had like a sign on the side of it saying like, been hired since 2025. I was like, well, that's so fucking insane. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I felt like kind of scared of. it. Yeah, I've been feeling that since I saw my first robot lawnmower. I was like, so that's that's one job gone.
Starting point is 01:21:51 Yeah. You know? Uh-huh. Yeah, because it was, it was, because the Tesco Express was quite small and it was taking up like a whole aisle going like, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And like, I wanted to go down that aisle, but like, I didn't want to go near it. I was like, it's just kind of like bump in, like, what the
Starting point is 01:22:07 fuck is happening? It like sucks you into it. And like, no, I was like just staring at it and everyone was just walking around as if it was like normal. Yeah, it's crazy how quick people are just like, oh, that's a thing. Yeah. It's like, whatever. That's cool.
Starting point is 01:22:22 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, like, we're in the, um, the start of the, the next industrial revolution, you know. Yeah. And spoiler alert, the industrial revolution was like, fucking horrendous. The way, the way workers treat it. Do you know about like, um, it's debilers. depicted in Bioshock Infinite, but like there were, I think in America
Starting point is 01:22:47 periods of people what's it called? Or auctioning like for work. So that, so people like bids to, they're like, I'll do it for a dollar. I'll do it for 50 cents. I'll do it
Starting point is 01:23:03 for 25. I haven't eaten. The free market at work, baby. Yeah, yeah. I'll do it for free. Yeah, I'll do it for the love of the game. I'll suck your dick for his job. Yeah. It is that exploitive, yeah. It genuinely is.
Starting point is 01:23:20 That's coming back. Let's watch, in the next 10 years, Farage gets in, wipes out a minimum wage, brings in wage auctioning. I wonder if, yeah, like, you know that kind of silly aspect of the matrix where, like, people become batteries. Yeah, yeah. That's what they're being, like, used for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:45 If there was some way to, like, it's like the final step, right? To, like, turn your body into, like, something like that. Yeah. It's like, yeah, we'll give you, like, we'll let you have food if, like, we can use your body. It's the Jordan Peterson Chinese wank dungeon.
Starting point is 01:24:04 Yeah. Jesus Christ, dude. How is anyone okay? with this shit that's gonna be like the the best way to make money in in 2030 just getting just donating your your nut because nobody's having babies we need like genetic diversity so it's like everyone donate your eggs and nut that's all the robots are for though you know to impregnate people no so they're like there are like three people yeah right robot armies that's fighting forever yeah but but the billionaires don't find it fun if there's no
Starting point is 01:24:42 one beneath them. They need people to like, they need it to be like robots on people. You know, right, yeah. Just like abusing people every day. We need something to sell. Yeah. Orgments. Yeah, it's just cyberpunk. Um, looking hell, dude. Um, fuck you know. Uh, let's do this one. From bathtub Tom. Hello, Jarmie deers. Could you offer a nugget of wisdom to one such as I? I'm in my early mid-twenties and do not yet have my driving license. I did take lessons back in the day, but because of the post-pandemic backlog and clashes with my academic career, have yet to be a certified driver.
Starting point is 01:25:25 I find this daunting and a bit embarrassing as I feel too unc to be in the learner driver game, although I am aware Jim similarly learned to drive at an unc age. Any advice, and is it scary to learn to drive as such an old age, best wishes? Just stow it. Nobody gives a shit. I find that weird where it's like, it's like instilled in people that you're only allowed to be learning things when you're young. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:51 That's an excellent point. I also think, uh, no, that, that thought's gone. Um, no, I was actually, uh... Probably be a better driver, if I had to go. Yeah, genuinely, you, you'll probably learn easier as well. It's like I've found, um, Like, it's, it's much easier to learn things as a willing adult instead of a, like, the petulant, resistant child. You, like, really think you know everything?
Starting point is 01:26:23 Yeah. Yeah. But I, I kind of see even that as, like, a class divide. Like, the people who, um, who got given, like, a car for their 17th birthday and, like, Oh, definitely. It gives you a step up, especially if everything is built in that way where you can't really do, Yeah, especially in America. Unless you're in a connected city.
Starting point is 01:26:46 Yeah. But you can't get jobs. I remember that there was a certain, like, group of people in my year at school that got the car. No, I remember. And they're instantly, like, more popular. Yeah, yeah. I mean, they were already the, like, cool ones anyway. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:00 Because they were rich. Or at least richer. I don't know if anyone in this fucking down. Yeah, because, I mean, I was unk when I got my license. Yeah, you were what? 32? That must have been like mid-20s or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:18 You were probably about the same edge as me when I got mine. Yeah. 23, 24 or something. Yeah. I can't remember. I think I got my license in 2021, which is fucking five years ago.
Starting point is 01:27:33 It's not, yeah, it's not scary to learn, but it is scary how expensive it is. Yeah, and it's probably more expensive now. Just do it. Like, the Sunni do it. Yeah. And it's, it's going to be cheaper to do it now than to wait and do it later.
Starting point is 01:27:47 Just get it done. I'm just so glad I did it before 2020. And every now and again, I see someone who looks like 40, 50 learning to drive, you know, with the old plates and stuff. You know, with a driving instructor next to them. And it's like, yeah. You're not getting judged for it. No, I think you're a weak fool if you, like, ever mock someone for trying to learn something new at any age. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:11 Like you're a fucking... Yeah, yeah. You're worth nothing. Yeah. You're an asshole for no reason. Also, I think, um, people shouldn't insult people for being bad at things. Mm-hmm. Because it's like...
Starting point is 01:28:26 Well, then you'll never develop any new skill ever. Yeah, yeah. It's going to be bad at it at first because not everyone's a fucking savant. Like, just... Yeah. In fact, like, no one is. It's like a tiny, tiny fraction of people. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:40 Yeah, it's super unfair to put that on your side. Um, reasonable sales says, Hey Ming has Airport Dan here. Got a question for Airport Jim. In a semi-recent broadcast, AJ, Airport Jim, was made a fool when a commenter asked AJ if he recalled making the clutch move of ordering a pizza at 1am and was quoted as saying, Honey Badger drinks when he wants. This was later revealed to actually be an interaction one Elon Musk had on Twitter. Despite this, AJ claimed to remember this incident, having no clue he was being completely punked. My question is, Was AJ truly recalling a time he ordered a pizza at 1am?
Starting point is 01:29:17 Does he truly actually refer to himself as Honey Badger? Was he simply lying? Was he just trying to not be to not seem inconsiderate by admitting he didn't recall this? Lots to ponder here. A.D., Airport Dan, out. Did I say I recalled it? I think you did. The thing is, I might have seen the meme.
Starting point is 01:29:37 I don't know. And that was the part that... And we've, I've definitely ordered pizza at fucking one in the morning before. Yeah. And Honey Badger does eat when he fucking won. Dude. It's the fucking grinchious shit. Like the, I've seen, I saw cringy things.
Starting point is 01:29:59 Plenty of it before the, like, musk heads. But it's just like a new level of deprivation with these people. It's kind of like spectacular in a way. You know, the ultimate, like, chud little fucking barnacles. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's like being the king's footrest. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:19 Like, that's the position you're happy with. Because you're, like, at least you're close to power. You know? You're on the good side of power. Fucking pussy. Oh my God. Let's end on this one then from Krusty Kamikaze. I know this won't happen, but I really do hope GTO6 fails.
Starting point is 01:30:39 Can't stand the excessive and bloated production cycles of AAA games, and I feel that it'll only get worse with six success. I'm probably totally off base because I'm not entirely well read on the industry, but that's just how I feel. Thought, bear, uh, bear? Well, don't worry, because AI's going to make game production. Yeah, I have this weird feeling that it might be the last game like that ever. Really? They were just going to be chudded out now. Like to this, like, because they had the advantage weirdly of, it's been in development for so long. And it's only really the last six.
Starting point is 01:31:15 six years or so that the cost of development has gone up so so ridiculously high. So at least what, half of the time it's been developed. It's been a bit more affordable in quotes. Yeah. And I don't know. I don't think it's going to start this fucking trend of that happening because like no one can afford to do what they've done. Yeah. And they're going to make all the money ever.
Starting point is 01:31:43 It's not going to dissuade them. No. I don't, yeah, I don't really agree with this. And the thing is, like, I don't, I don't need another GTA every year. No, it might be the last GTA ever. At least in our lifetime. That's almost a guarantee. Yeah. But, like, it is, it's crazy and, like, ridiculous, but I'm not that fussed about long dev cycles. because like
Starting point is 01:32:19 there's still shit coming out every year It's kind of It's similar to the discussion about like Oh Hollywood movies They're just shit now Yeah When it's like well there's actually millions of different movies And yeah yeah sure
Starting point is 01:32:32 Like Supergirl sucks or whatever And it was a huge bomb But there's loads of other interesting stuff Happening and it's same with video games It's like in the American space It's fucked up and it's like really bad Like insanely bad Yeah
Starting point is 01:32:45 But it is just the the American perspective. Like it's not true globally. So when when it like falters in a space like that then other things crop up in other places. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know?
Starting point is 01:33:04 Yeah, they are just less accessible, they. Are they there? Like, what's less accessible about like, Resident Evil 9? No, true. Yeah. You know? Except like, you know, how underpaid the Japanese
Starting point is 01:33:20 workers are. Yeah, yeah. Fucking overworked. Yeah, I mean, that's it's all economic shit. Yeah, that's, that's like across the board. That's an issue. How underpaid and overworked is like the average person.
Starting point is 01:33:39 Like, yeah. Probably a lot. And that's not like defending game corporations. It's like, everything should be restructured to be fair for everyone involved instead of just one fucking fat cat at the top yeah it's like um whoa radical this film obsession i don't think you've seen it yet no i watched his um a short of his the chair yesterday oh yeah no the day before yesterday yeah it's good it was fun but like the
Starting point is 01:34:10 the the main woman in that film yeah she was paid something like 20 000 dollars 30 000 or something. Wow. For a film that's made like hundreds of millions. Yeah, right. I just, yeah, so, I hate the way it's all structured. It's so fucked up.
