Starting point is 00:00:04 Bloody how, bloody. Well, well, wow. Well, well, wow. Well, well, well, I guess. Good afternoon, morning, evening or night. Ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Brocast Season 7, Episode 32. I'm Alex joined by Jim or Bil Tong Bill. Hello, I'm Billton Bill.
Starting point is 00:00:26 You can see. A little bit different for this episode. We've kind of had to scramble, do a kind of corncast sort of setup for this one, just because of that. some scheduling stuff that's going on. Um, so... We got issues, man. Yeah, we have mad issues and that explains Jim's audio. We do...
Starting point is 00:00:44 Yeah, sorry in advance. I think it's okay, like, during Concast, I, when I was recording the gameplay, I didn't even bother having it, like, actually recording the game. I was recording, like, the top layer of the game, so it was, like, terrible quality, and, like, wasn't the correct frame rate, and it was... Oh, just a fucking mess. So, uh... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:04 This is a step up from that So for those watching This is some footage of our Dark Souls 1 Co-Wod Mod playthrough Um We're by the hot babe The hot spider babe Um
Starting point is 00:01:17 God damn God damn So we got some stuff to talk about Um Before we get too deep into the show Let me shout out of those JARMedia patrons over at the Patreon that make the show an audio version possible
Starting point is 00:01:29 You get that raw unfiltered MP3 Over there ad free Isn't that right built on bill it's it's just amazing um you get your patron you get your patron names right out in the first or second week of each month which should be attached to
Starting point is 00:01:44 did I say that correctly I'm in like a really I did the patron names earlier because everything's just all fucking out of whack and like we were J after I was behind and now that should be up to date because we did anyway yeah speaking of Jaffer hours and the patron names that should be attached to this episode
Starting point is 00:02:01 and J after hours is the supplemental weekly show that we've been doing that's just past 100 episodes actually with um i think the hundredth episode was the it was either the musk crashing out one or the supergirl lloyd cut which is the new kind of epic thing on the menu um which you really enjoyed yeah born fresh um piece of premium content let me tell you um but also we did like an hour long discussion on spider man brand new day it that long? Oh yeah. Because we were like, let's try an for like half an hour and I was paying
Starting point is 00:02:39 attention while recording and I was like there's still too much to say. I didn't want to like just cut it short for the sake of it. No, to be fair when it comes to me talking about Spider-Man like an hour is pretty good actually. Yeah, that's that short. Yeah, I didn't come close to Mandalorian and Grobubue but
Starting point is 00:02:53 that was like an hour to one or something. Yeah, you've got to break down that of that sort of caliber. It was like complexity, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's layers. And last but not least, the Jiam Media group chat. It's a group chat. It's a group chat. Don't need to explain it.
Starting point is 00:03:11 So let's do some housekeeping then. Let's housekeeping in Dark Souls with the swollen postule guy. What are those swollen postual guys by the spider called? Do they have a name? Lorix by Lil' song? They're like slaves to the spider woman and she's like put her eggs on them. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Starting point is 00:03:31 So they, yeah, they wanted the guys. off baddie too bad like Drake that's what happens to a motherfucker like Drake um well yeah let's do some housekeeping um first I'll shout out
Starting point is 00:03:45 there are some fresh new Spotify issues I really don't know what to do um the the crazy frog episode was taken down so that's annoying because of one
Starting point is 00:03:59 there's one epidemic sound like uh song guy. It's called like Frans or something, where it's only his songs that seem to be getting pinged, and then I've got to fill out this form every time, and I've got, bro, I have so many accounts that get so many emails. I just can't keep up. So I, like, I saw it this morning. I was like, shit. I didn't even, like, catch that. So I filled out the form, and it's all really annoying, so apologies for that. Um, I don't know if I have to, like, upload a musicless version to
Starting point is 00:04:29 that RSS feed, but it's like, it's part of like the personality of Jari feels having the background music. So, so few podcasts have the like, music in there, you know? And it's like part of the humor sometimes. I feel like it adds so much.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Yeah, yeah. Whenever there's like a, exactly. Yeah, the pregnant pauses is when you got the music there. It's like, okay, it hasn't like cut out, um, or whatever.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Um, so yeah, let's do some housekeeping then quick. Foxy Pooh said, don't listen to the hate guys. Don't keep it up. Oh fuck They're getting
Starting point is 00:05:01 Confusing with it now Yeah Really confusing And Mick Saladin said First Ali Katz Now this Comedy might be back on the menu boys Yeah we actually teamed up
Starting point is 00:05:13 I saw you did Like a trying to watch I haven't watched the video yet But Yeah it was pretty rough It was about where you anticipate From the trailer that we watched It was very just that
Starting point is 00:05:25 You know Oh this was a good one from Warlock Wabbit, rank this as CBT. But I think Reddit slash Patreon didn't appreciate the Crazy Frog episode because they didn't get their questions slash comments read. So we got like sects of people that like hated that episode and some that didn't. And that was a theme actually on the on the Patreon specifically. It was like, man, I had stuff I wanted you to answer.
Starting point is 00:05:52 But I don't know. Do we even like, do we even need to justify ourselves on that? Like, there was a reason that we did that and, like, that it wasn't a full. Yeah. Everyone wants every episode to be three hours long, but, like, sometimes we just simply cannot do that. So it was kind of like a... Yeah, especially this week. But your answers are getting questioned, okay?
Starting point is 00:06:11 Yeah. Yeah, we made up for it last week, too. It was like, that was a good, like, meaty, substanceful episode. Not that the crazy frog one wasn't. I stand by that shit. Yeah, I stand by that shit. Sometimes we need to get, like, the creativity, like, performance art, sort of, you know, outperforming arts backgrounds.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And, you know, there's various ways to bring comedy to you all different people out there. Yeah, exactly. And Sam Haydnreek says the chicken jockey segment was weird to hear because yesterday, while playing a bit of the craft, I saw a chicken jockey
Starting point is 00:06:48 and I obviously said chicken jockey to myself only to realize I hadn't said or heard anyone say it for a while now. you still chicken jockeying um I'm chicken jockeying less um it's kind of just shortened to chicken that's just that's just good that's uh that's eternal
Starting point is 00:07:08 that's the eternals you know yeah yeah but I'm going like I'm phasing into pescatarianism again um nice yeah yeah and it but there's like a severe lack of chicken really It's funny to say that because I've been like doing a similar thing except
Starting point is 00:07:29 For me and this might be fucked There are two animals that when I eat them I feel guilt right? It's cows and it's pigs Yeah Fish I'm okay with chickens like birds like whatever Would you eat an ostrich? Would you eat an ostrich? Would you eat an ostrich burger? I think I have What? Have I? Was it ostrich? I think it was. Like randomly at Tesco one week. I was like, what the fuck. Ostrich steaks? Okay. And I was like, fuck it. I have to. Like, I have to know. Right, yeah. I've never had ostrich personally. It's not very good. It's pretty like tasteless.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Really? It doesn't taste like chicken. I think it was ostrich. No, it doesn't taste like chicken. It's more, it's more like gamey. It's more, um... Yeah. I don't know. It was tasteless. If it's packed full of protein That's the thing It's like chicken is It's good for you man And I've been feeling way less guilt
Starting point is 00:08:32 Ever since I've been like buying whole chickens And like using every single part of it Making stock making it Using every inch of that little fuck And especially when mum and dad had chickens And like being up close with them It was like Learning what they're like
Starting point is 00:08:45 And like man you would If you were our size You would eat the fuck out of us So like fair play Oh my God they do worse They're vicious beast That doesn't justify factory farming of chickens by any means. No, God, no, but, like, they are, like, the T-Rex brain lives.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Yeah. Oh, yeah, they're straight-up dinosaurs. Whereas, like, I don't know, like, cows, they have cute little babies and they're mammals and they're, like, herd. They got cute grown-ups. They've got, like, nice faces. Yeah. I've been seeing lots of videos lately of, like, dogs interacting with cows. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:20 They, like, mourn their young and shit. Like, it's just too much. Yeah. They build churches and stuff and get married. Yeah. So there's something about the mammalian meat that does make me feel weird. And pigs being like as smart as dogs and stuff. Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:38 I haven't bought the book like officially. But I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Yeah. I've got to be honest. See, I've kind of gone off human meat for the same reason. Oh no, that's one that I feel no guilt for anything. Yeah. I mean, actually, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:54 I'm convinced. Yeah, maybe that's the answer. Just don't need the brain. Can't eat your protein. Eat an entire man. Yeah. There's one more comment that I'm going to leave up to you whether I read. It is blood-borne related.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Oh, okay. It's an info dump on bloodborn. Do you want it or do you not want it? I want it. You want it? You want it? Okay. Okay, I was just giving you the option.
Starting point is 00:10:22 How long is it? Like, is it like a short novel? This is going to be the rest of the episode is just there. Um, this is from, Hadrodivus. Unprompted InfoDumped InfoDump in regards to Bloodborn. Frenzy technically works like most status effects in Souls games, i.e. you get hit and you get points towards triggering that status effect,
Starting point is 00:10:41 but it's animated to look like it gains over time after being hit before decreasing. The reason why it seems too easy for it to fire is that high insight lowers your frenzy resistance and it's very easy to reach high insight. While frenzy resist armor is handy, getting the frenzy resist Carol Rune is typically more reliable. Yeah, that's what I use. It sounds like I can't read or speak English, but I have no context of what I'm like reading.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It makes me sad to say it. Did you have anything to say to that? No, I knew that about the insight, and I knew that about, I used the Carol Rhin. But thank you for the advice regardless. Um, chalice dungeons scale exclusively with the depth of the chalice and going into New Game Plus won't make them any harder. You also keep any chalises you have when you go into New Game Plus so you could finish the main game and then get right back into chalises as soon as you get back into the workshop in New Game Plus if you want to.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I did know that as well, but again, thank you. I wonder if you're going to know all of this. Beyond just blood echoes, chalises are by far the best area to get blood gems. High level blood gems are important for going deeper into the new game plus cycle, but are generally overkill for the first play-through. Also, the strongest versions of many Carol runes that can only be found in root chalises. Does that make sense to you? Okay, yeah, that's good information, and I do want to do some root chalises. And also I said in the last episode, I think I might be like OP in Bluble.
Starting point is 00:12:14 I was way fucking wrong. I just got to like the last section of the DLC and it's straight off fucking hits, man. It's bullshit. There's still three more points here. Sogotting blood gems that increase the percent damage dealt of an element into weapons that purely do physical damage will convert that weapons damage into elemental if you mix and match. There's an element weapon scales off its arcane scaling, not strength or skill, which makes chalice is important for arcane builds that don't want to exclusively rely on hunted tools.
Starting point is 00:12:46 weapons that already do non-physical damage, e.g. Chickage. Chichingage. Oh, chicage. Chickage. Which deals blood damage, won't get their damage converted by elemental gems. So said gems typically won't do anything when socked it into them. That makes sense to you?
Starting point is 00:13:10 That sounded like completely fucking gibberish to me, but... I'm doing like a quality build, so none of that really about it. Chick-chich. Chick-age. Chick-age sounds like a shit, like a spring break type, like American TV shit. Chick-age. Next up on chickage. Oh, right, like chick, as in babe. I was thinking like chicken after that, like, chicken conversation would just have. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, um, also in chalice dungeons, you can get uncanny and lost variants of weapons from reliquary chests. These variants have alternate blood gem sockets which can be desirable for optimizing a certain weapon for a specific damage type For replay considerations, you can get alternate variants of base game weapons before you can normally unlock them from the chest in chalices
Starting point is 00:13:56 E.g. You can grab an alternate Logarious wheel long before you go to Cainhurst, but you can get variants of DLC weapons until you own the regular version. You actually have to purchase them from Bath Messenger vendors that may appear in chalices. Yeah, I actually found one of them recently and I got the wheel. No, not the wheel. The whirligig. Wurly gig. I feel like I'm speaking a different language right now. And you're understanding it and I'm not.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And last one. Each chalice region has a native shape to them, which in turn have a specific range of expected effects. So if you're trying to target farm a specific gem, it's best to stick to a specific root chalice. For example, if you're looking for plus physical radial gems for a sore spear. Oh my God, I've got to say,
Starting point is 00:14:46 Thumaru, root chalises are where you'll want to be grinding. I assume the pee was silent. Right. Yeah, well done. I'm in any game. I'm not into, like, farming. Unless it's Minecraft. Like, it's fucking...
Starting point is 00:15:05 I ain't got time to be doing that shit. Damn, okay. So what did you think of that as a bit of feedback on blood and bored? And it seemed like you kind of knew a lot of it. Yeah, well, like I said, it's consumed my everything. It sounds like you played a little bit more since we last spoke about it. I've played it a little bit more, but it's more like all the content I'm absorbing outside of it. You know, with like doing bits and bobs during the day with an air pod and just listening to like blood,
Starting point is 00:15:40 information and like blood-born video essays and shit yeah yeah that's funny man I was a great one um about how blood-born is just entirely about like femininity interesting if you can find that video I'd highly recommend what was the like elevator pitch thesis of that I'm curious I mean just just that because you know like the the moon plays a big part in the What's the evidence? Which has been... The characters in the game, they're like...
Starting point is 00:16:17 I mean, it would be spoilers to get like... Right, yeah, don't spoil anything, but... Yeah. Okay, that sounds interesting. I know Bloodbourne is like... I did. Because you've been playing it, I was doing some research, like, is there like a way you can play on PC with a co-op mod and there is no co-op mod? No, no.
Starting point is 00:16:37 No. No. a jerry rigging but yeah I don't think it's unknowingly I do think we could do it the old fashioned way I guess yeah I'd have to
Starting point is 00:16:51 oh no I've got a PS5 I guess yeah and I've got I mean I've got the PS4 with it on and I'm getting the PS5 soon so like Does that still not arrived? It's meant to be arriving fucking today
Starting point is 00:17:05 let me look at Amazon right now That's crazy I felt like you'd said like a week ago that you'd Pull the plug on that shit This is the thing I bought it a week ago That's when I
Starting point is 00:17:17 Like ordered it But it's taking It still says on Amazon Arriving today Oh right It might just arrive really late or something It's not even out for delivery yet Oh probably be delayed then
Starting point is 00:17:29 Okay Where I just decided that I'm playing GTA on Xbox Series X I'm not playing a pro for it. I don't think the difference will be that big. I'm pretty sure we're all going to have to deal with 30 frames no matter what.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Yeah, for sure. But I think we have pretty similar CPUs, like all these consoles. Yeah. Yeah. I just wanted to buy one before before that Netflix thing. I feel like a lot of shit's going to happen once the game plays out there. Yeah. Yeah, keeping on the stock
Starting point is 00:18:02 market folks as well. Yeah, I feel like it's really too late for that. You've already fucked up if you haven't. I don't know, man. I feel like it's going to skyrocket after it comes out. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see. So, well, there was actually a major topic I had to bring up.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And there's loads of people wrote in about this. It was like a big thing. If I say a word, is there anything that pops into your head in association with Dobby? Have you seen anything about Dobby lately? Nothing beyond Jina. Okay, this is perfect because there's, there is some Dobby news, some really fucking cringy Dobby news. Like this is fucking lame. Oh, please. Hipsy.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So, uh, I'll introduce this from an Avery Swindon fan who says, Have the boys heard about Harry Potter fans forcing a 430 million pound sea cable to be moved away from Dobby's grave? And instead through Welsh Bronze Age human burial remains. Thoughts on this fucking stupid shit or any. other instances of fandom behavior bleeding out into major real life consequences bear bear the bronze age darling
Starting point is 00:19:14 so this is true I can read you like yeah this is fucking insane brook I've got like the Guardian article up right Harry Potter fans force relocation of 430 million pound undersea cable to avoid Dobby's grave
Starting point is 00:19:31 in quotes grave Can we hold up how can Harry Potter fans force anything. Bro, they... What do they do? They're more passionate and powerful than any, like, actual political party.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Like, Harry Potter learns. You know? Fuck is Voldemort's going to win the next election. If Dolby was running, like he would win in Atlanta. So, power cable linking UK and Ireland, now passes near Bronze Age,
Starting point is 00:20:01 human burial remains, instead of a fictional grave on Welsh beach. Harry Potter fans have forced a new multi-million pound power cable between the UK and Ireland to be relocated after completing, it would desecrate the, quote, grave of Dobby, a fictional elf. The character was laid to rest on freshwater beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. That's a, you know Pembrokeshire well. In the film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,
Starting point is 00:20:27 fans of the Wizards series come to leave Stones reading, Here Lies Dobby, despite being asked not to by the landowner, the National Trust, because the beach is an ecologically sensitive site. The 430 million-pound Green Link Interconnector, which links the national grid to Ireland, was initially going to pass through the site of the grave. The project manager Simon Ludlam told the Energy Revolution podcast. Fans became aware of the plans after Ludlam pointed out
Starting point is 00:20:57 where the 125-mile cable to County Wexford would go underground at freshwater West during a BBC interview. We did the shop, we finished, I went back to London, and then they aired it a couple of weeks later, and we got hundreds of calls. I mean hundreds of calls. Ludlum said he did not know who Dobby was and became confused by the calls the company received, saying a colleague told him, apparently we're going to go straight through Dobby's grave. I said, Dobby, who's Dobby? I don't know Dobby. I said he's a fictitious character and a fictitious book. The whole thing is fictitious. What are you talking about? He said the colleague told him, No, it's very, very serious.
Starting point is 00:21:38 The firm then enlisted planners to find a new route that avoided the supposed grave. A lot of people were very happy about that, and the project is now going ahead, and Dobby's happy. In the end, he said, we went quite close to some real Bronze Age remains, but we avoided Dobby's grave. The Bronze Age remains include urns associated with human burial.
Starting point is 00:21:59 That is fucking ludicrous. that is that's insulting to me I mean you know what they say Dobby always wins Isn't that fucking That's too far No genuine
Starting point is 00:22:14 Like why the fuck would you cave to them I know Like it's only the movie as well Like I don't think like in the book It was like Dobby died on a specific beach in Pembroke She just literally shot there for a movie Yeah So now it's like of limits forever
Starting point is 00:22:30 Go fuck yourselves Look, I liked Harry Potter when I was younger, but like people who carry that shit into adulthood might need to be cold It's too far That's way too fucking far How embarrassing Fuck this country, man I'm fucking hate this fucking house
Starting point is 00:22:53 I'm gonna say it Fuck Dobby No Fuck that little motherfucker Fuck Dobby's Jaina Yeah, fuck Fuck, Dobby's Jaina on the Pembrokesham Beach. Oh my God, dude.
Starting point is 00:23:07 That's not okay, dude. Anyway, fuck. That's pissed me the fuck off. Seeing as we've been like talking loads of video games lately, I played like a lot of the Giz War e-day beta. Oh shit, yeah. I guess I have some thoughts. No, it's not shit.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Is it goaded? There's a chance. it might be goated um because but i don't know i'm i'm a big gears of war guy i like i like really love gears of war in in a way that's like unreasonable you know the original trilogy yeah which is quite funny for like your personality because like people into like gears of war are typically like spanish marines in yeah as the i played a few matches of multiplayer and like if if i had a Hispanic name on my
Starting point is 00:24:03 team, it was like, cool, I'm good then. And they were fucking cracked. Yeah. It's really funny. But yeah, I played mostly Horde, to be honest. The new, like, hoard thing. A few concerns.
Starting point is 00:24:21 You don't really, like, build bases anymore. It's way more, like, a giant map, and there are, like, different groups of people playing it at the same time. Yeah. You're doing like sub-objectives. It is quite addictive, though. The main thing was like,
Starting point is 00:24:38 it took a few hours to get used to the new control scheme. You can, like, jump in Giz War now. Oh, what the fuck? Yeah, and there's like... Like Mario? Yeah, basically. Like, Marcus is like Mario now. Oh, fuck, yes.
Starting point is 00:24:51 It's... Yeah, I don't know how that's going to play into the campaign or whatever, but... It gives you a lot more options for verticality. Yeah, yeah. And it was more the, in the beta, you couldn't remap your control scheme. Because I have, like, a very specific way I like playing gears and would always change it in the original games, too. So I'd, like, go into cover with the right bumper instead of A for everything.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Yeah, that makes sense. But now it's like, you like clamber and climb with Y, but do all the cover movement with A. And, yeah, it was, like, weird to get used to. But when you get into the flow of it, it's like, okay. There was some like hit registration kind of issues and some service side stuff that was a bit kind of janky but it's like okay It's it's it is a beta you can't forgive though yeah yeah and I when you're playing in like I'm sure the campaign will feel a bit like crispier or whatever and not relying on like server side stuff as much
Starting point is 00:25:50 But I don't know man I I'm a sucker for Gears of War and that time frame especially of like the early It's basically it has a potential to be like the Halo Reach kind of of of gears where it's almost like the inciting incident that like kicks a bunch of shit off yeah yeah huge like it's reference throughout the games all the time you know e-day emergence day yeah of course when the locust first appear it's when like dom's uh wife gets like taken um and all sorts of shit happens i'm just a sucker for gears man and it's been a long time it's been seven years since there was a gizs christ really yeah yeah gears five was 2019 yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:26:31 Isn't that fucked? That is insane. Yeah. And it's kind of, it might be the last gears game, honestly. It genuinely might be. Xbox does seem fucked. Yeah, they seem kind of fucked. They've kind of kneecapped it inherently with the whole, like...
Starting point is 00:26:49 Oh, we're not going to release it on PlayStation actually in the end. Now it's an exclusive again. It's like, okay, so you're just launching it on a dead console on Steam, I guess. Good thinking. I'm sure it would do all right on Steam. Yeah, I don't know. But yeah, like, stupid. It's stupid.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Really stupid. So, yeah, I'm sure it would be good. Like, I think it's not like Halo, where it's actually a Jaffer hours I want to do, is like just watching some of the new cutscenes from, it's not called Combat Evolve, was it called Campaign Evolve now? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Like, I've been holding off, but, like, the little clips I've seen are like, oh my fucking God, dude. Holy shit, does this look awful? it. Yeah, and like nobody gives a shit. Like, no one is talking about it. Yeah, it was like a complete...
Starting point is 00:27:38 I didn't even know it'd come out. It's on Steam, right? It wasn't even on the front page. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sales numbers are starting to come out for the first time, and it's like just cracked like about a million with like... 40... It's like 43% on Xbox, 42% on PlayStation,
Starting point is 00:27:56 and then the rest on Steam. And it's like, You fucking idiots. You might as well have just Puttler Moss Chief Collection on PlayStation. I feel like that would have had a bigger splash. You know? Like,
Starting point is 00:28:06 it's so embarrassing. Yeah, now that it works. Yeah. It's such a fucking joke what they've done with that shit. Oh, Microsoft are a trash company, man. Yeah, they are trash, but Gives of War's been pretty consistent, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Giz of War has been good. I really didn't like Giz 4. The first act is bad, but I think the rest of it is decent. No, I never even, finish the campaign. It's okay. It's nowhere near as bad as like a halo.
Starting point is 00:28:34 The main character, no, no. But the main character was fucking cringy in that one. It was, yeah, it was very much just like a, this has to be Force Awakens slash Marvel. Yeah, slash uncharted. Right, yeah. But Horde was good.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I played a lot of Horde. Like the gameplay was good. Yeah, they didn't fuck with the gameplay that much, which is kind of awesome. bit like quicker I guess than the original three but yeah and it looks better but like I'm so cringy of gears well I like watch kind of like what you do with Dark Souls like I watch like gears of war like retrospective reviews constantly and yeah revisit like certain scenes like oh yeah Dom obviously how I think about a third of like the views on the upload of
Starting point is 00:29:26 Dom's death on YouTube are me really I revisit. I revisit is it that shit like constantly just to feel something just to feel something it's genuinely like i think it's really funny that a game with that tone like pulls out an emotion like that where it's like so ridiculous and then like the the book ending it with like the mad world it's like really weirdly well done and like the voice acting from like in yeah yeah from everyone Chetimes. Yeah. Them son of it like this.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Yeah. It's like... No, I don't like this. Oh, Maria. It's like so fucking sincere. I really, really adore it. Yeah, I love it. And even the shit in two as well, like, man.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Yeah, I'm getting an inch to kind of play them, but... I'd be down. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we gotta do Ede co-op, right? Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:23 No doubt. As long as I get to be dumb. Yeah, you can be dumb. I like Marcus. Marcus is my guy. I just like this, J. The Dog. I like that Dom is...
Starting point is 00:30:33 It's dumb. Did I have any more thoughts on the beta? I mean, I've already pre-ordered it. Like, I haven't pre-ordered a game in, like, literally years. I didn't even, like, pre-order Elham Ring. I don't... I do want to punch you for that. Get over this.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Yeah. I just don't normally... free order shit. I just don't really see the point a lot of the time. I don't. Um, but I wanted no, I don't know access to the beta. Um, yeah. And I'm just a suck of that kind of thing. There were like some unlocks. You could get like a skin or two and shit like that. Um, I don't know. And I, I don't normally like PVP either. And I was playing a bit of that and was like, doing well at it. Because I'm just so into these games. Yeah. Um, Giz PVP has always been so scary to me. That's why I like it. The skill ceiling is like so scary
Starting point is 00:31:22 high. No, it's insane and everyone hates it because it's just like shotgun like as soon as you spawn in everyone just swaps to the shotgun and starts like bouncing around like flipping around and shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I kind of like that. You have to throw yourself at a wall for like hours. But when it clicks
Starting point is 00:31:38 you just become this like monster. It's really satisfying. You become Hispanic. Like the gib shit is good like the sound and everything. Yeah. There are some. stuff some like nitpicks here and there um i'm excited for it like i'm excited for a game like
Starting point is 00:31:58 that in a bit so yeah that was cool it ran decently well um yeah we'll see how it like wraps up there did you play it on xbox or pc uh pc i've got it on steam i don't really like ever turn the xbox on it's it's only gonna it only comes on for like netflix and gta i guess in a few months be like a GTA machine. It'll be rinsed. Yeah. And then it'll probably break. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah. Yeah. Or overheat or something. Yeah. Yeah. So unless you had anything else to shout out, we can go to mid break and come back with some questions. What do you reckon?
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah, that sounds good. I'll just shout out my pooy ban. We'll be back up for these. Nice. Shout to Jim's shite ass. After these messages. Brankers on P. 5 out now
Starting point is 00:32:59 PlayStation this is wild khaar download them wankers on my Xbox which one is Bart's real scream Bellas Sulea check please Feeh
Starting point is 00:33:17 Look away, look away And we're back On a Thursday I'm drinking beer on the hottest day of the goddamn year, motherfucker Today's been fucked Oh, awful. Genuinely, fucking atrocious. It fucking pisses me off so bad.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Yeah. It pisses me off how people are just like, whatever. It's always been like this. There was a heat wave in the 70s. We go to Europe to experience this normally. Yeah. Go fuck yourselves. Like, this shit ain't normal, man.
Starting point is 00:33:57 The shit ain't normal. It's not normal and... We're not built for it. No, not at all. Not at fucking all. But anyway, I can do the second half of the cast will be answer questions from the subreddit suggestion thread. And a little few from the group chat as well, if they're appropriate. We got this chunker one.
Starting point is 00:34:20 It was a bit of pushback, actually, from the last episode. I could have put in housekeeping, but it was chunky enough where I thought maybe I could bring it up. And I didn't screenshot it properly. So the end of each sentence is slightly cut off. So this is from Nohage, right? Long time jarling. I appreciate the bushback, to be fair. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:39 This was to do with, like, that was it. Old opinions we've had on, like, media. They were talking about, like, giving us shit for Obi-1 and that kind of shit, you know? Like, COVID-era media opinions was kind of, like, the crux. I get what the comment guy meant about you two, 180ing on certain media things and your initial reactions, not being too trustworthy.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Mostly for slot big budget blockbusters though, outside of that you're usually fine. You did unironically praise Booker Bobber and Obi-1 to an extent. I feel The Last Jedi and then COVID lobotomized all left-leaning critics while radicalizing all the right-wing critics. The hate from the right side is now so unhinged and the coat from the left side is so strong that the entire discourse around these big-budget films is just ruined. It now takes six months to a year for people to just be realistic about these films. absurd. People glaze slop like Daredevil born again and say season
Starting point is 00:35:38 two will prove the haters wrong. And then it comes along and is straight ass. I can't help but feel the cope cycle is feeding this shit. And the right leaning hateful side fuels the left leaning cope side to cope harder out of just wanting to oppose the chuds. I agree with Alex especially
Starting point is 00:35:54 that his COVID takes were horrendous. I didn't he? Especially... I don't remember you saying that. Especially the Dave Filoni glazing. Whilst you two don't partake in the right leaning hate side, you do participate in the cope side. You are on the wrong side of history and flip on most of these big budget block-blusters. I'm just wondering how long it'll take for you to flip on Superman. I kind of find it silly that Alex went from saying stuff like, thank God for James Gunn and we're in safe hands and now Marvel's shit, it's about time DC gets good again to it's so jover in just one film. Even though the plan for these films and James Gunn's insanity has been apparent since even before Superman came out. The Black Adam and Superman interview reactions are kind of awkward now, and it's not been that long. Falled again in the exact same way you were with Dave Folloney.
Starting point is 00:36:44 The way you were talking about Gunn a couple of months ago is literally word for word how you're talking about Follone in the corncast, by the way. The get that you think opinions aren't linear and can change, which is true, but you both had pretty spotty memory. You end up phrasing things in a way that makes it sound like you're saying you have always felt that way, rather than it being clear you have changed your mind. Especially considering a lot of these opinions are purely retroactive a lot of the time. Also, at the end of the day, Alex, you're basically a film critic. It's more or less your job at this point. It's probably better to have some sort spine or consistency in how you view things rather than shrugging it off. I think clarifying a
Starting point is 00:37:17 change in stance is more productive. Also, at what point would the cutoff be for treating the things you say as your genuine stances if you never clarify changes in perspective? Are you really going to devalue your perspective by putting an expiration date on everything you say? If we should throw out anything you have said over a certain amount of time ago away, then why should we value what is said by you in the present? This is the problem with that kind of thinking. I don't really blame you guys because it's apparent you have unfortunate memory, but I don't think you can really be annoyed by people being confused by how flippant your opinions shifts can be. People watch Alex in particular for what he says about movies, so of course people are going to
Starting point is 00:37:53 point out inconsistencies, contradictions, and when he's straight up wrong, question mark? Like it's your job, own it. It's not impossible to have a consistent standard. There are people in the YouTube space who have such a, such a thing, or at least try to. It's good to at least aim to. No offense, but some of these switchups have group think vibes. I just think y'all sometimes let other people clear the minds and then you adopt the generally accepted criticism sometimes. This is fine and we all do it. It's just the way you phrase it as if that's how you've always felt that leads to the confusion. It's at a point where sometimes I go, well, I just have to wait for them to switch up on this and then I do and then you do. There's a certain comic book movie review
Starting point is 00:38:28 YouTube, who I know at least Jim Watches, who is probably the worst example of this on the internet and maybe human history. But I won't name him in case this comment gets read because Alex probably doesn't want to read stuff that disses other YouTubers. I wonder who he means. Also, Alex, I think you're wrong about people not allowing your opinions to change. I don't think anyone reasonably has any issue with that. I think you're kind of missing the point. It's more so not expressing that your mind has changed while saying things that completely go against past things. It comes across more like reconning your stance on something rather than changing your mind on something. It's like, hang on, this isn't what you said before,
Starting point is 00:39:04 rather than a natural, oh, he changed his mind. I don't think you guys are egregious hypocrites or lying or anything, by the way. I just think you have bad memory. It's genuinely not really your fault. If I've been watching Jail for 10 years, sorry, if I hadn't been watching Jail for 10 years and was only aware of Alex through other things, I'd probably feel differently though. So I get why some are bothered by it. I mean, you mentioned the bad memory and I've really forgotten every single point you made like reading it um yeah that question so fucking along no um there's there's a good chunk of that that i resent agreed wholeheartedly disagree yeah agreed but i mean a a like a podcast format is different to like writing a review and
Starting point is 00:39:54 the papers or whatever. Yeah, yeah. Right? Like, uh... Yeah, that was the context with the... I swear the Boba Fett thing was... I could be wrong on this. It's not like I've gone back and checked from a thing we recorded six years ago.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Um, if we were talking about like watching the first three episodes and mentioning it offhand on corncast during the pandemic and saying like, yeah, this is okay or whatever. That's one thing. Yeah, more, more slot for the pile. Like in COVID, all we were doing was absorbing slot. Um, and I mean, I feel like, uh, what we said last time covers a bunch of what was said in this comment. Hmm. Can we go like point by point?
Starting point is 00:40:41 So you were saying like the, the Superman, uh, James Gunn thing is, is one for me that was like, I don't think that's like an accurate depiction of what is going on right now. Um, because for me, there's different things, right? Yeah, that's, I just, I just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm movies, right? I think he's like pretty consistent with his like superhero shit, right? He's consistent with that. And maybe it was like, I'd prefer him to be in charge than whatever they were doing with DC previously. It's been fucking weird and Supergirl was a huge letdown and was like a big fuck-up.
Starting point is 00:41:14 That doesn't mean I'm not excited for the other Superman movie though that he is making. Right? So I think that's unfair. Like I don't think Dave Faloni has ever directed or written anything as good as James Gunn. And I don't think I don't think I'm going to be reassessing Superman. either. No, I would say a lot of filmmakers haven't made movies as good as Superman.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Like, that film fucking rocks. In that space, that tone. Like, yeah. I don't think that's going to be reassessed like that. If anything, it's going to be like the diamond in the rough of like this kind of fucked up year of the sea. I'll be honest, the only thing that's changing in my opinion for Superman is that my love for it only grows.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yeah. So he was saying it's like awkward now in, like on IHGTV, I did like Black Adam interviews and Superman reactions. And he's saying they're awkward because I don't like Supergirl and think it was like a fucked up direction and like a bad director and just a bad choice of like direction for that. I don't see how that is undoing.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Yeah. And also the left right shit is I don't like the equation there. You know, like one side is saying anyone in, a film that isn't a straight white man, like it's woke propaganda, and the other side is like, you're just kind of consuming movies. Yeah, it feels very like terminally online because as we've seen with the Odyssey, like it hasn't manifested like that, you know? It didn't affect like the success of that film at all.
Starting point is 00:42:47 That was very much like a bubble that hasn't even played out. But it's not, it's not even left the right in terms of this stuff. A lot of the time. It's the right shadow boxing, the msanking. Like, who gives the shit if the fucking 3D printed armor isn't historically accurate? Yeah, no one cared at the end of the day. It was like, was the story resonant? The people care about the way it was put together?
Starting point is 00:43:11 And they did. And it like connected and I was like past a billion bucks. And it's made fucking loads of money. Um, but yeah, I don't like that. I don't, um... Can you read the bit about the, the left right? I feel like The Last Jedi and then COVID lobotomized all left-leaning critics while radicalizing all the right-wing critics. The hate from the right side is now so unhinged and the coat from the left is so strong that the entire discourse around these big budget films is just ruined.
Starting point is 00:43:40 But like I didn't read your enjoyment of and praise of The Last Jedi as like a left thing. Yeah, I don't know. You saw a Star Wars movie and liked it at the time. You know, you saw it at the cinema and had a good time. I feel like there's something deeper going on with that. There is, I think it's not about left or right, though. I think it's about the way you holistically view movies and the way they're made, right? I tried to communicate that in my video of like, I thought it was interesting that like Ryan Johnson,
Starting point is 00:44:14 someone I had been following for a long time and enjoyed his movies from day dot, like all of his old shit brick and whatever. That was intriguing to me. Yeah, right. like the the hyper commitment to like law and consistency with that kind of thing is like that's kind of the other side of the coin where I think it's fine to enjoy like nerd shit like that
Starting point is 00:44:34 I don't have an issue with that oh for sure I'm huge into that shit yeah but it depends for me on what I'm watching and how it's kind of implemented and yeah but also like no you go what doesn't get talked about is like I can sit down watch a film today you know and have like
Starting point is 00:44:52 a show it time with it. I could watch it in six months time and have a great time with it. It's like it does depend on um it kind of the the circumstance you're in in that time. You know, you're like you. And I think to to feel you have to rigidly hold on to whatever you've said in the past is where you kind of become a cunt. Yeah. But it's also like the context changes with time as well. Like, I was, I was brought into the idea that Disney was doing the like Marvel approach.
Starting point is 00:45:34 It was like there was some kind of plan here. Like, yeah. Because I didn't think it was actually possible that they would go into a trilogy that quickly without having some kind of guideline. And obviously that's come out in the wash now and we know like it was just like competing directors and they just. had no plan at all and it was just like improv basically so of course it's a fucking mess and there's no cohesion and no one gets a fucking and they've ruined the whole brand like forever so it's like am i not allowed to reassess that now and also like every time i change my opinion do i have to like upload a fresh video being like this is my opinion now this is hey guys here's the update of
Starting point is 00:46:08 like hundreds of videos like i make like i can't remember this shit i say like i don't know there is some level of like context cluing i feel like you sometimes have to embody the shit Yeah, and not treating people as, like, an AI. You know, like, we're, like, people who change over time. And, like, I said in the previous cast, like, when I first see fucking Obi-1, like, my childhood fucking hero, back on screens, that child in me is happy, you know, given a few weeks After watching it, I'm like, wait a minute. They fucking like pulled the rug over my eyes or whatever.
Starting point is 00:46:56 And for a long time, I've clarified the stance that like, I don't think you really have a true opinion on a movie until you've seen it at least twice. Right. And little details like that, I don't know. Saying like, do you not think you should clarify changes in perspective? It's like, well, what is the format of that? Is it, I wouldn't blame someone who's like only watched like five videos of mine and it's just. Star Wars shit or something to then be maybe confused if they check in years later
Starting point is 00:47:21 and it's like well he doesn't say that years ago that's one thing but from my perspective I've like talked about this shit in like so many different channels and podcasts and videos and it's like for me it's just like this moving changing process so and I don't know yeah and it kind of
Starting point is 00:47:41 I'm getting the vibe from this this kind of opinion where it's like the objective objectively good art type argument where it's like you have to you have to like scientifically base all of your criticisms and your feelings on a film in like as a science right yeah you know it has to be like numerical and like if you have a something to complain about like a like they're being a inconsistent like oh there was an extra in the background there but then he's disappeared in this
Starting point is 00:48:13 next shot like what the fuck like It's like that's fucking boring man that all of all of art is about influencing emotion and Emotions fluctuate like fucking crazy mm-hmm you know so you know You smell you smell bad you're like a stinky guy Blocked yeah yeah thank you I didn't want to have to say myself yeah I mean I appreciate the pushback and like trying to verbalize the other side of it. No, yeah, for sure, for sure. It's the kind of thing where like I'd actually like to have a conversation, you know?
Starting point is 00:48:57 Yeah, I feel like, um... Yeah, I get that. Like, if you were face to face with me, I feel like the attitude would be different. And also, like, all of the examples are always like, pop-heart, you know? It's always like Star Wars. and hucking Superman and shit like that. Like, you know what? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Like, I don't know. It's, um, it's really not that deep. Yeah. Let's do something else then. Like, uh, this one from Dylan of the group chat. Did you guys get to see the eclipse or the meteor shower? As a recording, it was yesterday. The eclipse.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Did you experience it anyway? I went up a hill and had a little picnic under the eclipse. How were you? How did you look at it? I just glanced at it every now and again because I can get any glasses. But it was cool. Like I would have, like, ordered glasses in advance if I, I found out the day before it was going to happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Because it's too late. I wore, like, my regular sunglasses, but they don't like. No, it's not enough, yeah. It was fucking cool, though. It was changed the light and made the temperature dip, and it was like, well. Yeah, the temperature, like, this is really awesome. way dropped and it was yeah it was lush yeah I was thinking
Starting point is 00:50:20 about that like recently where I just feel like humans in general like just big themselves up too much like we just think we're too important and shit like an eclipse just reminds you like you're just this little blip and it's like where there's so much so much big of shit out there
Starting point is 00:50:35 these like unfathomably enormous celestial bodies are like interacting in a way that we have no control over Yeah, and they're like changing the temperature, they're changing the light, it's like so immense, it's quite grounding, it's really fucking cool. It is fucking cool. And seeing the pictures of people like getting really into it and like hundreds of people on like the beach or up on a hill or whatever.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Right, yeah. Parks and London and stuff, it is cool. It is cool. Yeah. This is a good one from Lom who says if you were the Hulk, what strong? emotional feeling would make you Hulk out. Is diarrhea in emotion? I'll allow it for this one.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Every time I'm at rear, it like a great giant. So I'm like the Hulk every day. The first one that jumped to my head was cringe. Oh shit. You watch a cringe you short and you, Mark you come down. Don't make me cringy. You won't like me when I'm cringy.
Starting point is 00:51:51 That's a perfect segue, actually, into this other one from a Rirkified re-ringpin. Now that Alex has seen Masters of the Universe, when are we going to get cringe a month? So, I don't know what you know about He-Man. Nothing, I assume. As little as possible. Yeah, I also know nothing. I watched the shitty film that came out on Amazon. I thought it was meant to be a masterpiece.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Everyone loves it that, like, all the film. 50 year olds or 40 year olds that Love He-Man or whatever Love it But you know he's got like a green Liga that like follows him around or something Yeah Everything I know about He-Man is from
Starting point is 00:52:28 Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly I'm in the exact same place So when Cringer comes on screen And He-Man's like, Cringer! I was like, is this feeling like Like fucker with me? You're like serious?
Starting point is 00:52:42 That's the dog's name? I look at the He-Man wiki and it's allegedly called fucking Cringer. Why has he called that? I don't know. That's cool. Yeah, I actually watched the Red Letter Media review of that just a few hours ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:02 And they, like, loved it, but they're more about the target audience, kind of... Yeah, right. I really didn't get it. I was fucking bored out. I'm like, God, now, mind. Just like, what are you doing? Who gives a shit about the Heman? Pretty good in it.
Starting point is 00:53:14 right? You don't have to look at his face, which is a bus, you know? Yeah. He's like a CG skeleton, man. Is he going to prison? I don't know. I thought he was going to Equestria, whatever the fuck is called. What the fuck is Equestria?
Starting point is 00:53:31 What the fuck is he talking about? You're confusing me, man. We kind of mentioned this earlier, but hey Alex, is the buffalo here, says, seeing as you love Drake so much, how jealous are you that he bagged a goth onlyfans model? Also, he barked on command for her and her last name is Lamar. That's pretty funny. Did you see those clips going around?
Starting point is 00:53:59 Did you see that he's, he got, um, Adam 22 gave a hall pass to his wife. I did see that. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Oh my God. and it's the fact that he thinks like all the shit makes him cool he's lame that dude
Starting point is 00:54:19 he finds sex yeah you're like having sex with prostitutes and like kind of it kind of feels human trafficy and then you look back to Hendrick's disses and it's like oh right I thought we were talking about Adam 22
Starting point is 00:54:39 but I guess this applies to both of them kind of well yeah yeah they're both fucking freaks um yeah i just find it crazy that he's uh Drake thinks this is cool he thinks it's cooled like to i guess it plays to his audience there right like it it gets him a bunch of attention i don't know if he he i think he loves it gets yeah he loves attention for one but i don't know how cynical it gets as far as like he's planning to release something soon or there's something he wants to announce So you do some like PR stunt like this, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Goth body clips all over the internet with Drake. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I just, in my head, like, I mean, could you imagine if you'd received the, the disc tracks from Kendrick, like yourself? Do you think you, it would take you a minute to, like, sit and readjust and be like, fuck, man. I don't I he's got a point like everyone's clowning on me I think if you're already as rich and famous as drait you can cope your way through anything
Starting point is 00:55:50 like basically anything yeah like if that's not going to be as down for what is yeah yeah true he's too big to win to lose sorry yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah sheesh um by the way I just wanted to mention I've done a complete 180 on the original three dead devil seasons I think they're trash.
Starting point is 00:56:14 Did you agree with the, not to go back into this fucking thing, the Born Again saying it sucks. Born again, season one sucks, but like leaves it at a good place. And then I started watching
Starting point is 00:56:31 season two and I got like 40 minutes into the first episode and I was like, eh. So I just stopped it. I haven't watched anymore. No, I'm not watching that shit. No. I love,
Starting point is 00:56:43 I'm not, I can't do it to myself. I know. His new suit looks cool. I'll say that. Okay, fair enough. Not that I've seen it in the show. I've just seen like clips online. Oh shit, this is a really fucking weird one from a sauciest in town.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Dear Jim Boy in Big Al, I've a rather embarrassing tale to tell and a question to follow along with it. So there's this woman I've been seeing regularly, and I've had hopes that this might be the blossoming of a new relationship. I really like this girl. and I think we get along quite nicely. Recently we went on our first gym date. We both lifted regularly for years, so I was quite excited about this. We were on the leg press machine,
Starting point is 00:57:25 and she, well, to put it delicately, had an orgasm while lifting the weight. Yes, that's right. She came on the leg press machine. I've heard such stories of happenings like this before, but didn't believe it until I bore witness to it with my own ears and eyes. I guess a lady orgasm can be triggered by the core muscles, which if you ask me is complete bullshit and fucking really bloody woke of evolution.
Starting point is 00:57:49 But in that case, she actually squealed really loud and everyone around us noticed. There was no mistaking what had happened, and all the fellow gymgoers were looking right at her. She was incredibly embarrassed, and I assured her it was no big deal. And really it wasn't a big deal. Everyone should have had a good time at the gym, and she was just having a really good time. But the embarrassing bit comes next. I'd been kneeling down, and I helped her up out of the machine. However, I didn't have time to notice the bone dog I had pitching my shorts at like a tent.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Flash belts from junior highs started flashing in my head. The humiliation, the vulnerability. I tried to do the classic waistband tuck, but at that point it was too late. She had definitely noticed. And I know for a fact that she noticed because later in the car we were talking about Doomsday, and I said something along the lines of, it's kind of difficult me to get excited these days. She said, well, I know that's not true.
Starting point is 00:58:42 It is hands down the most humiliating thing that has ever happened to me. She hasn't texted me since, and if I may be frank, I think it's kind of a double standard that she can come all over the place. And I try to be chill about it, but I get a tiny little rocky, and she doesn't talk to me. Really? When someone told me fucking that a bloody boner is the end of the world. I mean, it's not like I whipped my pettigrew out and started ranking in front of everyone. Bloody Jesus fucking Christ, they really gone woke now. Joe weren't lying.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Even though I didn't mean for this to happen and everyone has had the occasional PbP, public boner presentation, I still can't help but feel shame. I feel disgusted, even hatred towards myself. This hasn't happened to me at this level since I was like 13. Like for real. Why the fuck did I get a boner? Do I have a problem? Am I really that much of a fool? Enough of it.
Starting point is 00:59:34 I'm off all of it. No more lies. That's it. That's it, man. My question, does it ever fucking piss you off when P.B. in public happens to you. E.B.P. Public boner... Presentation.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Presentation. Right. I'm lucky enough that my penis is too small to actually, like, be visible. Right, right, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That helps. I'm good. But that's a beautiful story, and she may not have texted you, but you know what I'd say? What? Just message her and say, Jim later.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Yeah, no, that's fair. Also, I would, I really want to know the intonation of how she said, well, I know that's not true. Because that could have been like, uh, okay, you know, that could, there could be many different ways to interpret that depending on how it was said. Because it could be like a, well, I know that's not true or a, well, I know that's not true. You know what I mean? Yeah. Or like, well, I know that's not true. Also, it's like,
Starting point is 01:00:42 that's a beautiful story. Why are you beating yourself up for like, what's presumably a hot girl, like literally nutting in front of you? Why are you being? Yeah, yeah, like the girl that you're into that you want to like, hey.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Yeah, like, oh, my body's working as it should. Fuck. Yeah. What's wrong with me? Yeah. There's so much like weird shame attached to that kind of stuff. It was really lame,
Starting point is 01:01:08 but, yeah. Everyone has a penis, and everyone gets boners. Yeah, everyone. Literally everyone. Women, men, aliens, everyone gets boners. Dogs.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Yeah, I can't say I can really relate to this. This is quite an extreme. I get why it's embarrassing. Like, anyone would be embarrassed. Yeah. But I feel like her thing is more embarrassing. Yeah, way more embarrassing. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:35 But don't you know someone that, like, nuts when they go on rollercoaster. or something. Yeah? Yeah. I mean, I'm glad that men don't do that because, like, can you imagine the clothing? It's so fucking annoying.
Starting point is 01:01:53 Yeah, true. Wee-wee time in the car. You're fucking nut everywhere. Nut-nut time. That's a crazy fucking story, though. Best luck to you. Right back in if you have an update. Fucking hell.
Starting point is 01:02:11 That's some good shit Yeah that's crazy That's fucked Right Let's round down this one then With this ending one from spicy goblin cock Speaking of cocks This is a nice bookend actually
Starting point is 01:02:30 As a massive halo fan I sometimes find the reach hate to be a bit forced I can see not liking it as much as the original three But it did have the best forge Sorry it did have the best forge out of any of the games which created an amazing library of custom maps and game modes. Personally, some of my favorite gaming memories were custom games with my friends. I know you boys are slightly mixed on reach,
Starting point is 01:02:49 but are there any standout custom games you love from reach? Are you mixed on reach? I'm not mixed on reach at all. I think all of the bungee Halo games are fucking awesome, and I'd recommend all of that. Yeah, I'm more mixed on reach than you are. It was the beginning of the end. Yeah, but like the goal.
Starting point is 01:03:11 between Reach and Halo 4 is like... Oh yeah, yeah, I would take a reach tier game any fucking day of the week. If they'd release Reach Tier games every time after Reach, then Halo would be fine. Yeah, no, for sure. Because even like adding controversial shit,
Starting point is 01:03:27 like, Sprint and Armalock, it was modular. Like, you could turn it off, like, directly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It did affect the multiplayer or whatever, but still got Fire Campaign, the music, the, like, aesthetic of it. Just the whole, like, complete package.
Starting point is 01:03:41 of it was like wow you don't you just don't get that anymore like yeah what game releases like no i i i liked just messing around in forge like i don't i don't really remember playing custom games in reach that was more of a halo three thing to me like they were better i think in three i did a bunch of both um really yeah and a lot of them were like revisiting the same ideas like that I can't remember the name of any of them like the it was like a whole cops and robbers thing where it's like elites and Spartans that was funny and people like role playing really cringially right they're like that one where it's a like a ramp and there's just loads of vehicles flying down you got to try and survive yeah yeah that's fucking great that one's really
Starting point is 01:04:30 funny yeah of course yeah they were loads and loads of good ones riffball was like officially added in reach right yeah yeah um that was part of what I liked about that game and Geese 3 did a similar thing, but just everything you did fed into this, like, central economy. Like, even if you played, like, custom games and shit, like, really good idea for making it, like, addictive. But, yeah, Forge World was the shit, just, like, making stuff in there. Yeah, it was incredible.
Starting point is 01:04:57 Having these, like, grand ideas for shit that, like, didn't even make sense to really pull off, but you, like, try it and just fuck around and spawn, trap, kill people, and try and get out of the map. and just being able to, even being able to, like, play as elites and stuff like that. That's the last game to do it. Yeah. Yeah, I love Reach. You can get into, like, the weeds,
Starting point is 01:05:22 into the granular shit of, like, all that stuff, but that's where it kind of chronically ends in my head. There is, Hela Reach is the end there. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. You know, like that stops. Yeah. Like, it stops.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Yeah. And campaign involved. Yeah. They're all, they're all mods, just as this co-op mod is for DarkTor 1. Like it's, it's not the intended way you're supposed to play it. I would sooner buy just an official FromSov release of, like, seamless co-op Dark Souls than I would the next Halo game. Yeah, no, it's Jova. Like, it's really fucking Jova. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Yeah, they fucked it so hard. I drink to that. There is something. Reach has aura. Reach does have aura. I think it's got like the cleanest, um, presentation. And the, probably the most, uh, what's the word I'm looking for? Like, it, the story is, is, I guess it's more simple, but it's so articulate.
Starting point is 01:06:35 It's atmospheric too. And, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thick with atmosphere. and like hopelessness and the music is fucking insane the music is written by a piece of shit
Starting point is 01:06:45 yeah fuck marty but holy shit that music is insane there has a few like scenes that I like revisiting like um George's death is like a really cool like yeah that's a great moment encapsulation of that game and like the hopelessness it's like oh wow like a win
Starting point is 01:07:01 and it's like nope this was nothing this meant nothing it's like oh that's cool that they like commit yeah and in terms of like gameplay being like it's the most impressive mission it's the one they showed at you three you know you fly up in this park in spaceship and then you like go yeah true spaceship and then doing all this stuff and it's like a huge mission and then in the context of the story it's like it's like yeah it's like an intentional anti-climax in like the best of yeah yeah it's fantastic man that feeling when they
Starting point is 01:07:32 first showed off that trailer of the like warthog driving and that um yeah that wide shot and then the music like ramping up and it's like oh my fucking god dude i'll never forget that bike ride home yeah yeah yeah i don't think i ever cycled that first before or after yeah i remember being like so hyped because um i think i was in like sick form i was in like the first year of sick form when it came out or something um and on that day that it came out um mom had agreed to take us to like game and we'd like had a pre-order down for the console so like like we went oh yeah we went and got it and like got it all like ready and shit and was like bruh we just i think we hop straight into forge i think we did yeah i remember seeing the plasma
Starting point is 01:08:20 rifle and being like nice yeah yeah so that's that that's a good that's a golden one um i just i it's genuinely halo is one of those things where you had to be there like it it's aura-less now. It's actually straight-up, Oh, it's cooked. It's straight. Yeah. It's done. Yeah. So it's a shame that they just couldn't fucking leave it alone. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:49 Yeah, that's how it always goes. The greedy pigs at the top always want more, more, more. Yeah. I just, yeah, I just try and, like, silo it in my head where it's like, yeah, it's been worse, longer than it's been good at this point, but,
Starting point is 01:09:05 Yeah, it's the Star Wars thing. When it was good, it was like proper, you know? It's like, maybe we can talk about that next week because didn't you revisit the original Star Wars trilogy and that's a bit of like a bit of a reminder, like, oh no, there is something actually to this. Like there was, there was a part. Yeah, I understand.
Starting point is 01:09:22 That's why I was obsessed. It's why I didn't give a shit about anything else. Yeah. But we can, like, get more into that. Yeah, yeah, we'll save that. We'll put a pin in that. Um, but in the meantime, thanks for listening or watching. Um, and I guess we'll see on the next Angry Joe show.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Yeah, thank you so much. Bye. Hello, everybody. This is the J.O. Patreon segment. That was weirdly high energy for what I'm normally like.
