Starting point is 00:00:00 The midnight and the rock and roll. He's in a fight for wrestling soul using a racket and some mind control. He's Jim Connest, the keys to the future. It's where today we'll talk about, among other exciting topics, the rude to Wimbly is Wobbly. Missy Hyatt pulls the greatest rib in wrestling history, and we're going to discuss the one-legged man who used to have ass-kicking contests. And joining me for all this in so much more.
Starting point is 00:01:22 for Hawaiian Brian the podcasting line, the King of the Arcadian Vanguard podcast network, Mr. co-host to you, he's the oldest son of the one-legged waitress at the IHOP. Be great, Brian last, everybody. Aloha, Jim, a pleasure to be here once again for this late summer edition of the experience. This should be good.
Starting point is 00:01:41 What do you bring the season in? All of a sudden, the late summer. Like, it's still, it's going to be 97 degrees here in Louisville, Kentucky over the next couple days. doesn't sound too late to me. That sounds like right in a gall-darn middle, doesn't it? I meant we're in the keister of summer. That's what I meant to say. But now some people may be listening to this, either by the podcast
Starting point is 00:02:06 or by the YouTube method. It could be the dead a winner. Or they could be over in Australia or Vladivostok or wherever it is. They have the opposite seasons on the other side of the world. And now you're just throwing everybody off. They'll think this is old news. The hell's wrong with you today. One thing is that we know that, I guess I could just say if we say, it's great to be here towards the end of this season today with you. But there is no end our season, right?
Starting point is 00:02:37 Because we broadcast 52 weeks a year on both shows. That's 104 shows per year plus the omnibis. So there's really no end of our season. So you're again misleading the listeners. out there. Are they still listening to us in Canada? Does Canada still get to listen? We're in a trade war. So I know everybody else around the world gets to listen to us, but have they blocked off the podcast going across Lake Ontario? No, so far we're okay. And this is one of those areas where actually, if there was ever a
Starting point is 00:03:12 problem, it may come from the other end, because Canada is all about promoting Canadian artists and acts and programming, so I think we're okay for now. well i just want to make sure by the way we have we have canadian representation jace is uh from canada so yeah well he's going to be our new fucking tunny or our demarko depending on the ambassador we'll call him an ambassador the ambassador ambassador to canada so we're allowed to do business in canada because we have a contact there see i i guess we're we're going to make him carl demarcow and set him up with the office there in toronto we're he can send out blue checks that are only worth
Starting point is 00:03:54 70% of what you fucking actually should have got. And we got Georgia and Australia. Now we just need someone in Tokyo. That's our next big thing that we're trying to conquer here. I got a woman there. I never told you that? No. My woman from Tokyo?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Uh-huh, all right. I have to tell you about that later on. Was her name Shinema? Yes, Ernestine Shinema. Did she send you a letter thanking you for your? inquiries to be booked over there? Actually, he was writing letters to all the promoters' wives, hoping that
Starting point is 00:04:30 all right. Anyway, so we've established that Canada's still with us, and thank you to our friends. We're not all complete fucking idiots down here, just enough of us to get one elected president, but we have apologized to our friends in Canada as we do our friends around the rest of the world for what you think of us.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I had a milestone yesterday, buddy, I just want to mention this to you. Buddy, nature boy Buddy Cornett lost a puppy tooth, Brian. And we knew something was going on because he was, he was burying his snout in the carpet and kind of pushing sideways across the floor like he was rubbing his face. And Stace looked around and sure, and actually Alfie was chewing on something. not too awful long later and it turned out to be he had picked up buddies' tooth
Starting point is 00:05:26 so we've saved that's the first puppy tooth we've found. The kids are growing up. It's going to be college in no time and we'll have to deal with all of that finding them, you know, should they live on campus or off? What have you done for your kids?
Starting point is 00:05:44 Depends on what they want their major to be or what they see their future as being. I feel like your dogs may be homebodies. so they may want to stay home and go to something local. Well, yeah, well, actually, they're just really going to inherit the estate and live here in pampered luxury. And speaking of pampered luxury,
Starting point is 00:06:04 I want a big thank you, first of all, to our friend Mark Cole. I always say he's from Colorado, but it's like Colora, Maryland, and I always read it wrong. But he sent birthday presents, presents. Birthday presents! Presence, birthday presents for both Stacey and myself.
Starting point is 00:06:26 By the happy birthday to the Queen of Castle Cornette, Stacey's birthday is or has been now by the time the people hear this, August 29th. And mine, of course, and gifts are still being accepted at P.O. Box 936-6993. Louisville, Kentucky, 40253. You better give that again if you really want gifts, because it sounds like you may have added it. extra five six is there.
Starting point is 00:06:52 No, 936, 6, 9, wait a minute. God damn it, now I don't, you've thrown me off. 9666. 666.
Starting point is 00:07:04 No, wait, what is my goddamn, hold on. I never write myself. Let me go to official Jimcornet.com fucking website here, just one second.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Jimcornet.com and the way that you contact me is clearly on... I told him to put it on here clearly. Where is the post office box on my website? Now hold on. Certainly to God. I told him put it on here. Where... Hotchkiss, God damn it.
Starting point is 00:07:44 The fucking post office box is not on the website. 4.3, 6. 963 is what I'm trying to say, but also I'm embarrassed now. It's not on a website. Louisville, Kentucky, 40253. But anyway, back to what I was saying is Mark Cole sent myself and Stacey both birthday presents, and we appreciate that. And he is also working on a book on football players turned wrestlers
Starting point is 00:08:17 with a special section on the West Texas State alumni that got into the business out in West Texas and Murdoch. Murdoch's going to be a name. Murdoch gets in everything. And he's going to obviously notate that Murdoch never played as he claimed football at West Texas State. But he was in the alumni game. He was in the alumni game because he bullshitted his way.
Starting point is 00:08:44 I don't know if Murdoch finished high school, wasn't he wrestling when he was 16? But one way or another, he managed to tell that story with such great detail and knowledge of names to mention and, you know, facts and alternative facts
Starting point is 00:09:04 that they invited him to play in the alumni game after he'd become a famous pro wrestler. Uh, anyhow, and I, also for the same reason, like to thank Grizzly Mike of Grizzly Pulp Press out in California who sent gifts for states myself and the boys.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And we, again, I appreciate that. And anybody I didn't mention, if I've lost your note to mention you, then write me back and tell me that I didn't mention you. But otherwise, a blanket thank you out there. and a couple people I want to where is it ah get well and good luck to Robert from Lake Arthur
Starting point is 00:09:54 Louisiana he said he grew up a huge fan watching Mid-South wrestling used to go to Lake Charles and Lafayette so you were one of the people that we had to have fucking vicious police dogs protect us from out there in Lake Charles Louisiana Robert
Starting point is 00:10:12 Thank you very much for trying to assassinate us on numerous occasions. But he's had a bunch of health issues for the last six or seven years, and he's been listening to us. Apparently, I guess, Brian, he figures if I listen to these people, I can see it. It's not as bad as it could be my situation. I could be them. I could fucking be mentally deranged like these two are.
Starting point is 00:10:42 but Robert feel better and good luck. Oh yeah, get well soon, Robert. Happy birthday. What are we saying here? What is this? Get well, that's what it is. Get well, Robert. Do you ever listen to what I said?
Starting point is 00:10:57 The man's had tremendous health problems and you're just, you're just making mockery of it. Remember you said something about dogs? I thought maybe he had a dog. No, but he lost his tooth. Roberts got all his teeth. Well, I don't know if he didn't state that he has all his teeth. He's a big fan of Lafayette?
Starting point is 00:11:16 No, not. He used to go to the matches in Lafayette. Lafayette was named after General Lafayette, who... Right, of course. I think conquered Louisiana in the War of 1812. Don't you know your history? He was a great friend of the Americans. And he said, Lafayette, I have arrived, or whatever the fuck that old thing.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Robert, you're... You're doing great. Just keep doing what you're doing. That's right. But we accept don't do any more of what you used to do, which is get sick. Keep getting better now. That's what I'm trying to say. I have an update.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Would you like an update? Who wouldn't? On something that we have just been speaking about not long ago. And it's from Sean Delaney, who I owe an email, a phone call. I don't know, potentially a hand job. I have, it's been so long since I have directly contacted the man. because I've had the puppies, the little furry hounds and all the other things going on. But Sean, we love you here at the program, but he writes a hell of an email.
Starting point is 00:12:23 So we're going to talk about that because he caught our talk about food places. And specifically we were talking about Frisch's and Bob's Big Boy and Jerry's Jay Boy and the my fast food experience when I was a kid because that was the local hangout here in suburban Louisville. We had Jerry's Jayboy restaurant with the, not the bar hops, but the car hops. Some of them, as I'm getting older now, looked like they may have hopped a bar or two. But that whole thing, right, he has an update on this big boy feud here, this franchise situation. Would you like to be educated, Brian? I think we all would.
Starting point is 00:13:08 The big boy franchises started a lot like the KFC. existing restaurants signed up to be the exclusive rights holder for the signature product. So Frisch's and Shoney's, we forgot about Shoney's Big Boy in the South, or primarily it was back in my day. I didn't know it was actually, I only knew it as Shonies. I never knew it was Shoney's Big Bois. Shonies used to be, it used to, back in my day, you could see the Shonies Big Boy. But Frish's and Shonies picked up the Big Boar and Strawberry. pies similar to Gino's hamburgers offering Kentucky fried chicken in the Northeast back in
Starting point is 00:13:49 that before there were actual KFC restaurants. That's what that's what Colonel Sanders had a pressure cooker and fucking chicken mix with the 11 herbs and spices in his trunk of his car and he would drive around the country going to restaurants saying I pay me a royalty of like a penny a piece on every piece of my chicken that you sell and I'll fucking show you how to cook it. And that's the way he started KFC, but nevertheless,
Starting point is 00:14:22 apparently some big boy franchisees were also offering the colonel's recipe until Big Boy launched their own fried chicken buckets. See, it's an outlawed chicken operation. Anyway, from what Sean understands, the current
Starting point is 00:14:39 owners of the Big Boy name no longer allow franchise holders to put their names on to restaurants, partially due to ex-partners like Shoney's and Frischs who were able to break off and continue for years without skipping a beat. Say they ran opposition. But the Jerry's situation, Jerry's Restaurant, apparently they launched in Shelbyville, Kentucky before World War II as a White Castle knockoff, but the first actual Jerry's under that name was in Lexington.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And there were two or three in or around the Evansville, Indiana area. And I believe a couple, he says, across the river in Ohio River and Henderson and Owensburg, Kentucky. There was a Jasper location, Jasper, Indiana, for you people ignorant of Southern Indiana geography. But the franchisee in Evansville converted at least one into a grandees in the 80s. Do you remember those, Brian? I don't think I know that one, no. It was an odd concept. I'm trying to figure out a way to describe it, because I don't know if they ever could.
Starting point is 00:15:56 The food wasn't bad. It was kind of like a casual sit-down fast food, maybe like a Denny's level type of thing, but you could get like the biscuits with gravy, or you could get chicken or whatever the fuck. grand but it was some play on maybe the biscuits were the grand size but at the same time it reminded you of your grandmother they didn't last long um anyway so that's what happened with jerry's and there's now apparently hold on i got to go to another piece of information here because somebody else weighed in on yes jeff our friend jeff said there's one jerry's left completely unchanged in Paris, Kentucky, and it's glorious.
Starting point is 00:16:48 And you can actually, juriesof Paris.com is their goddamn website. We'll plug them. Where's Paris, Kentucky compared to you? That is out in the more of the Lexington greater area, about 70 miles or so to the east and 20 miles or so down south of that. so I don't know if I'm going to be heading over that way but nevertheless and Sean Delaney famous fellow over in the Evansville area because he has I don't know how you phrase this not promoted orchestrated curated possibly a wrestling exhibit on the history of
Starting point is 00:17:32 Evansville wrestling over at the Evansville Museum and it opened earlier this month and I guess it's still running for some, but get it while it's hot. If you're in the Evansville area, go to the Evansville Museum and see an exhibit on the history of Evansville wrestling and then complain to Sean Delaney because it's all his fault. So we got that going for us. Where's my notes? Oh, this is important, Brian. Don't eat the buffalo wings. Do you eat buffalo wings?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Never. Well, don't. wait a minute you don't like wings oh here we go hold on here now we must have talked about this point wings are just fine if you kind of want to feel jipped a little bit they're like yeah every now
Starting point is 00:18:22 and then it's nice uh but buffalo isn't something I would go for you know and also that's we're going to hear something from the gypsy lobby over that you know that's that's a slur what's a slur the word jipped you don't know that Brian the entomology of that word comes from being accusing the gypsies of being thieves
Starting point is 00:18:45 I would like to apologize to Stevie Nix and all the other gypsies out there listening all right well you see your gypsy is going to come punch you in a face lest you apologize but no the point of it the buffalo wings are poisonous now they've been frozen buffalo wings have been recalled for the consequences could be severely adverse health implications and possible death because they were not federally inspected. They're not even telling us what might be a niece, son of a bitch. Just so look it up, folks. Don't eat the frozen buffalo wings. And stay away if you can from the brown acid.
Starting point is 00:19:27 I understand that's somewhat tainted also these days. All right. Do you want to do the big news now, Briddie? me to make the big reveal. Talk about the big. I said on a drive-through a couple days ago next week, but what the fuck? Because now one big milestone has happened. Hotchkiss and I are actually sure we're going to be able to pull this off. That's why I'm going to go ahead and announce it. We've received official word. Could I, can I be, break the big news about the holiday sale at Jim Cornett.com? I don't know. Can you? Well, I'm asking you, you're supposed to
Starting point is 00:20:06 pump me up. Oh, yeah, come on, Jim, tell us, tell us, tell us. Jim, there is no time like the present. People are waiting. People are screaming. Listen, just music breaking out babies in the air. What's going on at Cornett's collectibles, Jim Cornett.com. Just watch out that calliope. Nearly fell on that child. What we have been trying to do, stop it now. Fireman, save my child. I've been talking about this for months now on and off here on the program that Hotchkiss and I have been going through the original negatives of the photography that I used to do for Bill Aptor's magazines and the merchandise tables in the Tennessee Territory and the Japanese Gong magazine and various other things. We put out the book, Heroes and Friends,
Starting point is 00:20:55 last fall with the first taste of some of that that we have digitally remastered with modern technology, these negatives that I've lovingly saved for 50 years. And now, I can, first I'll tell you what we're going to do, and then I'll tell you why it's been a pain in the ass, trying to make sure that we're exactly announcing what we're doing. For the holiday sale at Jim Cornett.com, and this is not going to all be commercial, folks. It's very interesting classic wrestling talk.
Starting point is 00:21:27 beginning Saturday, October 3rd this year at noon Eastern Marketdown, we're going to be offering among other things, including some of the one-of-a-kind items like we do when we pull things out of the vault and some sale prices on other stuff that we've had that's going to be closing out or sold out or whatever the case. Portfolios of my original photography digitally remastered, printed on high-quality photo paper,
Starting point is 00:21:57 for the modern age. Not one portfolio, but two different ones. You'll get 11, 8 by 10-inch portraits of the subjects in each portfolio. The first is Memphis Wrestling Legends and the second is great wrestling champions. And I would say that these photos
Starting point is 00:22:21 have not been seen in 50 years, but right off the bat, the feature photo in the great wrestling champion's portfolio is my picture of Harley race that I took like, what was it, two, three weeks or whatever after he had beaten Terry Funk for the belt in Toronto and came to Louisville. I would say it's not been seen in 50 years, but you've seen it everywhere. Even when Harley passed away, people on Twitter and on websites were using this picture to illustrate this,
Starting point is 00:22:57 because apparently everybody thinks it's the greatest picture of Arley Race ever taken. Well, by Cracky, you've never seen it like this before. Is that what they say, Brian, when they did the director's cut of The Exorcist, this is the version you've never seen. You've seen reproductions off of program covers
Starting point is 00:23:18 off of copy machines, but you've never seen it in all of its glory. And that's the, basically, the Memphis wrestling legends are going to be the, we narrowed this down to the 11 folks that, actually there's more. There's a couple of doubles in there. But the 11 photos representing the 13 or so folks that you would think were the greatest Memphis wrestling stars of the modern era, Jerry Lawler, Jimmy Valiant, Bill Dundee, Dutch Van Telle, the fabulous ones, Jerry Jarrett, Jackie Fargo,
Starting point is 00:23:56 Tojo Yamamoto, Tommy Rich. I'm leaving some people out. And then the Champions portfolio, the NWA champion, Harley Race, the AWA champion, Nick Bockwinkle, the WWA champion, Dick the Bruiser, Lawler and Austin Idol, the CWA champions. And there's other folks with regional belts
Starting point is 00:24:18 and we've still got to narrow down my final choice. is there, because I've got a couple altered it. You may be called into play on that, Brian. But I'm excited about this because we've been talking about how glorious we've been able to make these look. And now
Starting point is 00:24:37 everybody, well, not everybody. We're doing limited edition, signed and numbered, because I don't know how many people are going to get into this. And we're already printing like fucking 5,000 8 by 10s, but there will be 250
Starting point is 00:24:53 signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity and a list of who's on it and when the photo was taken of each portfolio. So a total of 500 for the two, and they're going on sale on October 3rd. I've been droning on, Brian, but basically that's what I'm hoping that the folks will be interested in these because I think the way that they've come out,
Starting point is 00:25:21 they're the best representative, not only the Memphis territory for sure, but some of these guys in general that's been put out there on the market. I've talked to you all along this process, but for the listeners, how much fun has this been for you to go back through your negatives,
Starting point is 00:25:39 to go back through your photos, and to see the end result of the cleaning up of the old pictures? It's been amazing because it's like taking the picture all over again. When you see what again was on the negative that wasn't able to be reproduced or, you know, in 1979. And then the way that you can run the program, because in those days a scratch, when they put it in and out of the photo printing tray and grasp the negative by the edges,
Starting point is 00:26:21 there's always a chance of a scratch and then you're just fun and the programs that are able to clean because they are 50 years old and they've been printed multiple times during that five to seven year period that I was active so no dust no scratches the clarity that you can do now when you scan these with the high resolution I mean we got the scanner that NASA views the moon with I think I know nothing of this problem process, but, but it's like taking them all over again. So that's been, that's been the fun part, except I've found so many things that I go, oh, Hotchkis, you got to do this, that I really, he would not have time to do that and anything else in his life, including my other work. So it is a process because, you know, we have to go through and find things and nail things down of what do we want to do next, et cetera. but the biggest pain in the acid is, Bride,
Starting point is 00:27:24 I'll say that was not the photos and doing the high-resolution scanning and all that stuff, it was finding something to put them in because my thought was, well, we'll just get these quality 8 by 10 photos and put them in a nice folio or binder and offer them to the fine people. And we found out that there's almost nothing like that that exists.
Starting point is 00:27:56 And back in my day, again, you could get albums and sleeves and folios of every kind for photo, but people do not often trade on a regular basis and on a day-to-day situation these days in actual photographs. Think about everybody's taking a picture of their phone. it's all on the computer it's all on a drive somewhere whatever so then we found a nice folio that would hold 48 8 by 10s i said i don't know it anybody out there loves me enough to make that kind of goddamn financial commitment right can we find a smaller version of this and we found a smaller version that has six pages that would hold the photo and the
Starting point is 00:28:49 photos and the certificate or the photos and the certificate front and back on six pages there's 12 and there's only like 322 of those in the United States and the rest would come from China in three months
Starting point is 00:29:03 so we purchased those and we found an alternative that has eight and a half by 11 pages so they still it's the same thing it just looks a little nicer or, you know, if it's even, but at the same time, you've got a mat paper if you want.
Starting point is 00:29:23 And that, yeah, it's a long story, but it's going to be a fine, fine thing. We've nailed these things down. And here's another thing, and I will move on. I was worried that nobody would, you know, really be able to print quantity photos anymore, right? Because not a lot of people print photos. When's the last time that you know? know anybody that had their pictures developed and, you know, that they take on vacation or whatever and actually have hard copies of pictures.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Every now and then, nothing high scale like what you're talking about, just people who go into like CVS or Walgreens or whatever. And, you know, they have a little thing there where you could take your digital photos and make them prints. Yeah, you know, it's not a big major thing. So I was worried about that, but we found a place. Oh, no, we can do quantities. And remember I've told the stories about when I was doing this 50 years ago.
Starting point is 00:30:23 You go down to full town, full town, downtown to full tone photo company. And a common week, I might have three or four rolls of color film, 36 exposure to develop in print and four or five rolls of black or white. and oh here's an order for 2,500, 3.5 by 5 prints, you know, 100 of 25 different. And here's an order for 3 to 500, 8 by 10s, 100 each of 3 to 5 different. And here's a few miscellaneous enlargements. And if I was really desperate because I was going to Memphis that weekend, this would be Wednesday morning.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Friday afternoon, otherwise it'd be the following Monday, right? these people said you want 5,000 plus 8 by 10s can we start now for October. I'm like, fuck, so they're started now. Apparently nobody's come in and said, hey, give me 5,000 8 by 10s in the last couple of weeks. But it's all coming together, Smithers. I love it when a plan comes together. and more information as we go along the weeks on the holiday sale. But you've seen some of these things.
Starting point is 00:31:49 You don't like anything. You're like Mikey on a cereal commercial when I was younger, but you even said, boy, this stuff looks fairly halfway decent. I like plenty of things except for the mediocre. and yes, I told you they look fairly halfway decent. Yeah. A great deal for all. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:32:12 It's hard to get the words effusive like praise like that coming out of your lips. All right. Speaking of words that are coming out of people's mouth, I understand that our friend, the velvet fog, is back in the public eye. Velvet fog, hold on now. No, unfortunately, Melchorne, passed. away a while back. No, no, they used to call him Mel Torment
Starting point is 00:32:40 if he had to listen to him. But the velveteen dream. Oh, yeah. I mistook him for the velvet fog, which was apparently laced with the fucking purple acid. One of the best Seinfeld cameos. Oh, without doubt.
Starting point is 00:32:58 But, you know, he, if I'm not mistaken, he did one year, the Crusade for Children Telethon. here in Louisville when I was a kid. I know I saw it. He used to do the Jerry Lewis one. Well, he's a very charitable guy.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Well, he's dead. I know I saw him. Well, he, well, see, and so it didn't do him any good, didn't did it? See, that's kind of an argument for not giving a shit about other people when he did charity all his life. And what happened? He fucking died. All right. This has been the military update.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Yes. Well, no, but the other guy, um, the velvet. The Velvet Dream. I used to dream about Mel Tor May, but I've never dreamt about the velveteen dream, but he is back in the public eye doing something for somebody
Starting point is 00:33:49 to where that he got mad. Did he come out of the crowd? Was he just sitting there at some press conference, or was he actually involved in this brouhaha? And he's swinging things around. I've seen this clip on Twitter. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:34:05 What the fuck is happening here? he looked like he was taking a broomstick out of the crowd just trying to bop people and somebody punched him in a fucking face well we have some audio we can play and again we don't know all the details here it appears that he is coming out of if he is in any sort of retirement but it's not wrestling it's something like you ought to be in a home if not a retirement home i believe this is for a boxing event but i could be mistaken we can double check on that but let's play some audio here i've never seen him wrestle but i have seen his box. There's some audio that was sent to us by by 500 people for some reason.
Starting point is 00:34:43 It was posted on Twitter by someone named Ahmed slash the ears slash on Instagram, Big Biz the God. Obviously a reliable media outlet. At big underscore business underscore on Twitter. This is very easy. Why didn't he just come out and say at giant fucking cock.com? Well, here's what Giant Cock has to say. Former WWE wrestler Velveteen Dream just crashed out at the Dual Arena One press conference. After someone told him he went from wrestling at Madison Square Garden
Starting point is 00:35:20 to doing MMA fights in mall food courts. He grabbed the metal pole and tried to go after his opponent so we could play some audio. This is like a super cut. Because I'll say in advance, my favorite part is what apparently they must have cleared him out and you hear someone go, he's back and he jumps off. He's back.
Starting point is 00:35:42 My God, he's loose. Let's go to this audio now. The former Velveteen Dream, Patrick Clark Jr. At the... Oh, you doesn't got to call him Jr. At the dual arena one press conference. I am the real fucking deal.
Starting point is 00:35:59 The Kia Center is not Patrick Clark or the Belveteen Dream's first fucking day on the job. You hear me, motherfucker. I've been in the Barclay Center. I've been in Madison Square Garden. I've been in the Staple Center. And now he's fighting in food courts at the mall.
Starting point is 00:36:15 No, now are ordering two-play. Your mother-fitting-ass August 29th. How about that, bitch? Easy, easy, easy, easy. Now he's trying to get to him. His shirt is off. Velvet team trying to get to him. Now he has a metal pole in his hand that he's trying to...
Starting point is 00:36:32 I feel like I'm in the episode of the Twilight Zone. Yeah, that guy's not very impressed. Is that his opponent? I don't know who that guy is because Velveteen charged some other guy on the podium here. He's being tricked out of the most low-rent press conference I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:36:55 So why don't we talk about what we saw here and I'll see what other info we could find as we're talking about this? Well, what I saw from the, what is that like a 54-second clip or whatever in all honesty? I thought he actually did, because the first time that I saw it, I didn't have my headphones on it and have the audio up.
Starting point is 00:37:17 And I thought by the time that I got tuned in, that he really did jump up, like he was one of the reporters there just in the audience and just started trying to wail on somebody at the podium. Where you go back, he's cutting a promo on his opponent and whatever this endeavor is that they're doing. I still need details on that. and when the guy said,
Starting point is 00:37:38 yeah, now you're fighting it, doing MMA fights in food courts, motherfucker. And this thing is chopped up, but he goes after him. It looked to me, I mean, this guy does have a history of, shall we say,
Starting point is 00:37:55 impetuous behavior and questionable decisions that possibly require the use of certain medications. But it looked to me like, he's desperate to do something. So he was going to shoot his own fucking angle. And he was going to cause a big fucking stir because this is apparently a shoot thing they're doing. It's not wrestling. They might not know the fucking difference.
Starting point is 00:38:24 He could work them if he was crazy enough and get a lot of attention, which this has apparently. And it looked to me like that he didn't. didn't do anything that it didn't seem to me like it was a big red flag that this was a shoot like that this was just something that he was doing until when he went over the fucking tried to go over the desk and one of the guys on the other side has bought it fully and just fucking clocked him and then it turned into a thing and I was like okay now now we got something going but I swear there may be the possibility
Starting point is 00:39:05 that he was trying to shoot his own angle and it wasn't going to go that far, sort of like the Dick the Bruiser Alex Karris thing in Detroit and fucking 62 or whatever. Once it started, there you go. Bob, what do you think? You tell me. Again, he's maybe slightly unhinged on a good day,
Starting point is 00:39:28 so who knows? Now, this card, he's on the main card. Dual Arena 1 This is going to be from the Kia Center Orlando Florida There are four MMA bouts Six boxing bouts And one kickboxing bouts
Starting point is 00:39:47 And a fucking partridge in a pepper tree It says the enclosure will be a cage And it says here Patrick Clark Jr, the former Velveteen Dream, will be taking on Ryan Pownow P-O-W-N-A-L from Canada Wait, wait, P-O-W, what now?
Starting point is 00:40:08 N-A-L-L. Oh, Pau-N-L, I thought you were like, pow-now, brown cow. Yeah, no, I wouldn't, didn't say that, but this is a four-round, four two-minute rounds exhibition boxing. In a cage. In a cage.
Starting point is 00:40:26 When you hear exhibition, I don't know, if it was going to be a work. Well, well, no, no, no. hold on now, hold on now. When you hear exhibition, you automatically think back to the days of the, you know, athletic commissions making the wrestling promoters put exhibition on it. But an exhibition, to be honest, and I'm willing to be corrected, and I know somebody will probably write in and let us know more, but that can be a way of circumventing issues with getting guys licensed or having a license to have boxing in a cage, if they're not saying it's professional.
Starting point is 00:41:07 You see where I'm going with this. Because to my knowledge, would this be the first instance that they've had mixed martial arts fights, boxing matches, and what did they term the third one? Kickboxing. And a kickboxing all inside a cage, all on the same show. I'm just, I'm wondering about what's happening there. So with licensing or etc. But probably not would be my guess based on some of this stuff.
Starting point is 00:41:42 I'm sure there's been joint shows. But I have more audio, actually. I'm seeing now a Twitter account marks with mics. God damn. Tweeted out. People keep saying Velvet Teen Dream crashed out because Ryan Pownall joked about him going from main eventing wrestling shows to fighting in malls. that's not what sent him off.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Let's play this. Okay, I've been offered like four or five fights that I'm not to lie. This is the Ryan Pownell guy who's fighting Patrick Clark. A little bit lazy and like, fuck, this training camp thing. But once I found out about my opponent's allegations, you know, sending dickpigs to minors. It took you 18 minutes and 54 seconds. I was waiting on it. because that's all you got is allegations you got on the internet.
Starting point is 00:42:35 I don't know about allegations. You know what? Screenshots of their dick getting sent to my. This guy sent dick pigs to little kids. So I have two friends that are victims of child abuse and I'm fighting for them and all the kids affected out there by motherfuckers like this. So fuck you. Wait a second before.
Starting point is 00:42:52 That's a little stiffer than the food court. Yeah, we'll be pausing for a moment. Just a little stiffer than having an MMA fights next to the fucking Panda XP. What are you doing? Wait a minute. Can you hear me? I've been knocked back in my fucking chair. Here is the reason why that I am gobsmacked that that's happening or that we just heard
Starting point is 00:43:18 that that happened, not because the guy maybe doesn't feel it, but what promotion is this? Who is paying this guy? to come out and basically unload with double barrels that to promotion is just hired a fucking child pervert to fight and is he blindsiding them with that or did he give them the the fucking heads up hey if you booked me to fight this guy i'm going to beat the fuck out of me plus i'm going to tell everybody why i mean why would why would this get that far
Starting point is 00:44:02 if this guy was going to do this. Do you see what I'm saying to you? I do. This appears to be the debut of dual arena. It appears to be the goddamn finale, possibly a swan song. Well, we will see what happens there. We have some more audio.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Let's go back to the... Please, I'm all ears. The Velvet Teen Dreams reaction in full to what we just heard. God damn. I fall for that bullshit, and I thought I was the phony. I thought I was a pretend fighter up here.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Let's take a look at Ryan Powell North. Okay, tiny smalls, that's your cousin, right? That's the midget, your cousin. This is family. This is your dwarf cousin that you masturbated to as you watched her sexually abused live on your podcast. What in the goddamn hell is going on? This is the strangest promotion I've ever heard for a fight.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Wait a minute. I got lost in that fucking fall there. Is the midget little person is a female who is related to him that he was, he wasn't abusing, but he was watching being abused, but it was on the internet. What happened? I don't know, but his comeback to. Rewind it. His comeback to you sent dick picks to minors as you masturbate to your midget cousin. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sure none of this is funny.
Starting point is 00:45:36 This is all serious. It's just the way it's being. No, no, no. But back the last 30 seconds up or something, just so I can try to follow the thread of this. I want to make sure I've got the relationship between all the parties. Let's go back to this. Second, before you fall for that bullshit,
Starting point is 00:45:58 and I thought I was the phony, I thought I was a pretend fighter up here. Let's take a look at Ryan Powell. Okay, tiny smalls. That's your cousin, right? That's the midget. Your cousin. This is family. It's a little person, first of all. This is your dwarf cousin that you masturbated to as you watched her get sexually abused live on your podcast. There are allegations about me. You have it on video. You have a history of sexual abuse and incest. That's a child size. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:46:34 front of you. So how? Let's stop it for a second. Oh, please. No, please do. I need to open a window. Who is in the audience here? How many people are in this room?
Starting point is 00:46:47 Where is this being beamed to? Has anyone called 911 yet? Does it make you want to buy the paper? You let it support any of these people. No, it makes me want to see the fucking documentary. What the fuck? Paging dark side of the ring. Let's go back to for some more.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Jesus Christ. No, it's a cage. Well, they got that too on Vice. So we got it covered, folks. But let's get back to Tiny Smalls' fan club. How about we keep it real, Ryan? How about we keep it real? How about we talk about, hold on, Bobby, I got this motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Okay? How about we talk about your current, your pending lawsuits, against your two exes, Bree Stern and Alyssa Violin. How about we talk about that? You can make up any fucking thing you want about me, but I am the real fucking deal. The Kia Center is not Patrick Clark or the Velvet Team Dream's first fucking day on the job.
Starting point is 00:47:48 You hear me, motherfucker. I've been in a Barclay Center, I've been in Madison Square Garden, I've been in the Staples Center. And now we've been putting in food courts at the mall. No, now they're ordering somebody. And they're looking at all August 29th. Got out that bitch. You fought them all last week.
Starting point is 00:48:06 You won't pull out. Easy, easy, easy, fellas. Easy, easy, easy. Now his shirt is off and he's charging across the stage. Fucking pedophile. You fucking pedophile. Jesus Christ. Fuck you.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Okay. And that's the game part. Again. The worst part to wait for seven. Who else is yelling? There's someone else alive. Well, we're going. And they say that's not the worst part?
Starting point is 00:48:32 A year later. I want to hear you run your motherfucking off. Now he's got caught. Now he's got the pipe. And then he got caught. For a moment. There are no baby faces in this feud. Most goddamn fucked up this thing.
Starting point is 00:49:14 One guy scream would come out of the closet and the other guy's videotaping tits. We didn't even stop on the fact that there's a dwarf named tiny small out there. I've written that down because I'm going to look her up and say it.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Let's go back to this. Yes, please. What you go ahead? So this is for all the people. Okay. Somebody screamed gene like children. What a fucking moves? Are petal fans?
Starting point is 00:50:00 I think we call pito pat. Move on. Thank you, Ryan. Appreciate it. Okay. Set it amazing. Wow. said it a million times she can't throw the coffee.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Right now it's a calm down, but this is obviously before he charged the stage the second time of the old, he's back and he jumps over the desk or tries to he gets punched in the face. So let me see if we can get any more clarity here. There's about a minute and 20 left in this audio. Let's hear them continue on. And let's go back to the MMA scene.
Starting point is 00:50:34 And let's talk to two professionals between Alex Nicholson and Brad Taylor. Sounds like everybody's paying attention now. It's hard after like a bomb goes off or seven to be like, hey, let's go back to lunch. Let's just go back to what we were doing before. You keep having to stand up. You keep having to kind of get out of the way of this chaos. What are you thinking?
Starting point is 00:51:03 What are you feeling right now before your fight on Saturday? I understand. It seems like at any moment things could pop off here, but I appreciate you. I'm not into touching little kids, but I can hold all four of these guys down. I'm gonna fuck them. Oh, Jesus, God. What is happening here? What is going on?
Starting point is 00:51:23 What world is this? Watch out, UFC. You have some new competition? I can't. No, I quit. I'm gonna hurt myself. I'm fucking really worried now. I thought we were fighting.
Starting point is 00:51:43 I'm not in the dudes like that. I'm wearing two cups. I feel like I'm in the episode of the Twilight. zone. He's back. Oh, hey, hey, hey. I just said, I feel like I'm in an episode
Starting point is 00:52:11 of the twilight zone. I could have just cracked his fucking head open. But I chose not to. All right, and that's the audio we have from, I wish I would see this movie thing. See that?
Starting point is 00:52:25 Right there, I hate to admit it, that's better than the it's still real to me, damn it, fucking press conference. that we had holy Christ that we come to a fucking voice
Starting point is 00:52:38 of reason and sanity who says I'll hold all four of them down and fuck him in his ass oh god all we needed was Gene O'Kerland holding the microphone
Starting point is 00:52:51 for that fucking fiasco and then he adds I'm not into dudes okay then why did you just say what you said the previous sentence? Of all the analogies that the English language
Starting point is 00:53:01 can and a symbol in the various millions and billions of combinations. You went to your dick going into the assholes of the aforementioned individuals. And I think it was the promoter. I think it's the promoters. I don't know who the promoter is and this is the guy running. What, the one hanging in the corner? No, the guy who was like, all right, let's move on.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Let's go to some nice people with the quorum. And then he yells, he's back. The promoters yelling, he's back when he went back into the room. I swear, I hope that was just some announcer. I hope that wasn't a promoter because, my God, we could have, we could have seen a man have a nervous breakdown. They've had to have put some kind of money in this thing just to have people there to talk about it, too. And this has to be death, doesn't it? Does it not?
Starting point is 00:53:52 They appear to be, I'm going to guess maybe around 30 people in the room in the chairs for the media. no one's wearing a you know a reporter's hat and tie it's a publicity thing that they are doing in some fashion for an event that they were going to have what was the date on that? As we are recording tomorrow, the 29th of August. I mean, maybe they'll get by with it before this thing goes all the way around the world
Starting point is 00:54:26 and they'll have it and there may be an incident there. But I would certainly think that future events from, unless they change their name to Vandalay Industries, is fucking, his promotion is deadered and Kelsey's nuts, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:54:45 I don't know. How many more people could you offend in one fucking fell swoop, as Mama Cornett used to say, or one swell foop? Oh, wait a minute, hold on. We may have some news. There's more?
Starting point is 00:54:59 Uh, well, Mike Perry is in the main event for this show. He's a UFC veteran. I recognize that name, but vaguely. He was supposed to be in the main event against Dylan Dennis, who has just pulled out due to an injury. So there's a new opponent. He'll be fighting instead. That we have a name here. There's just a lot about him. Now, here's his quote, let's not beat around the bush. This pussy-ass bitch Dylan Davis didn't show the fuck up. He's not here. He backed the fuck
Starting point is 00:55:31 out because he's a pussy. So I want to give a shout out to my new opponent, Brandon Jenkins. He's getting on an airplane right now. He's flying here to weigh in in the morning like a professional and fight me on Saturday night. What an event.
Starting point is 00:55:47 I actually not want to see. Here's some fucking promos. See, now that's the problem. We got a bunch of goddamn high school drama class dropouts reciting Shakespeare. and doysteoievsky on our major mainstream wrestling program. So leave it up to the MMA fighters and general rogues and misbegones of all kinds
Starting point is 00:56:14 to give us promos back. And let me tell you something else, you know, good motherfucker. Wow, can you imagine? Oh, Christ. You get called a bitch-ass pussy and all that stuff, and that's not even the worst thing anyone on their card has been called. That's not even the second worst thing. What the car is been called?
Starting point is 00:56:34 Ah, well, Dual Arena 1, free plug. Dual Arena 1, available at dualarina.com or on YouTube. And, uh, where is it live? Where is it live? Orlando. We got to know this before we. Live on YouTube. You mentioned that.
Starting point is 00:56:48 Live on YouTube. I'm sorry. But it's in Orlando, Florida. That is correct. The official way in is today. So we'll see if anything else happens. Something's going to happen. you know something's good.
Starting point is 00:57:02 This could be better than all in this weekend. Official weigh in 8 to 11 a.m., ceremonial way in 6 p.m. I have a feeling the ceremony may be where we have our next angle, but I'll be watching. I'll be paying attention. You got my attention. Congratulations, Dool Arena.
Starting point is 00:57:20 It's going to take them three hours to weigh everybody in officially, though. You know, this whole thing could have been easily avoided, Brian. Easily avoided if when these fighters, these professional fighters who are hired for middling to high sums of money, to do a professional job of not only fighting but of promoting the fight, and it degenerates into absolute chaos and slander and leads to the end of a goddamn promising future business, all because they didn't pay attention. When the promoter signed them up and said, now here's the thing. all you got to do is just not put me out of fucking business before I run my first show. But they didn't pay attention to that. You know why their minds were distracted, their minds were wandering, wandering, wondering.
Starting point is 00:58:18 They were the wanderers because they didn't have the ultra pouches to zoom them in, to focus them in with crystal clarity. You know, like the old control voice before the outer limits, once you pop one of these ultra pouches in your mouth, ladies gentlemen, you'll hear that voice in your head. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical. We control all you see and hear.
Starting point is 00:58:44 And then you'll be able to concentrate. You'll be scared not to. You'll say, fuck! I better pay attention to what the fuck's going on because I'm hearing voices in my head. And that's what ultra pouches does better than any pouch out there because they've got no... For the record, that is not what they do,
Starting point is 00:59:03 and what they do is do better than other pouches, and what they do is not that. I guess that's the point I'm trying to make. Don't do that. I like using ultra pouches for editing, Jim, when I need the extra, when I need the, this, well, no, they're not. When I need extra focus, I use ultra pouches.
Starting point is 00:59:20 They're not good for editing because I've set them on the daygum keyboard, and they don't do shit. They don't press any of the buttons. They don't click on the mouse, but when you pop them in your mouth, Boy, howdy, you'll see stars and garters. And that's the thing, folks, because there's no nicotine.
Starting point is 00:59:37 There's no caffeine. It's not all this harmful, messy chemicals bursting through your brains and exploding your blood vessels and setting off fireworks down in your spleen and your liver and the parts of you that filter out all the fireworks. That's what happens when you're all loaded up on nicotine and caffeine. and your blood vessels blow up. Actually, they don't blow up. They narrow and block up.
Starting point is 01:00:07 I saw a block instead of blow. But nevertheless, you don't want these things to happen to you because if your blood vessel blocks up, then it'll blow up. The other part of it. See, you ever clog up a garden hose, Brian? No. Well, let's say you're hosing off some Roman gladiators.
Starting point is 01:00:26 You know, I think it'll, you see it in the cartoons, it'll balloon up and then boom! well that much blood blowing up in your body it would come right out your fucking ass and scare your family or it would come out your ears why one of the other ends why is this why is the biggest holes and and you're and you're going to be spitting it so don't do that the ultra pouches they improve your steady flow state focus your mental clarity the enhanced memory the smooth energy, the mood balance. You'll hear everyone speaking to you like this,
Starting point is 01:01:05 like you're in part of a daydream or a Hollywood movie. And as long as no one spills the wine, you won't have to take that girl. All right, once again. Oh, with zero nicotine and zero caffeine. And the flavors that taste good, cool mint, winter green, tropical,
Starting point is 01:01:25 watermelon, and blue razz. And I'm not just razzing you there, folks. That's why Ultra is the ultimate guilt-free pouch. That's right. You will not feel guilt. And again, extra focus. That's right. A nice little feeling, too.
Starting point is 01:01:41 If you have two of them in your mouth, you will feel it. And it feels a nice little tingle. A nice little feeling. I'm hooked on a feeling. Do, do, do, do. And you'll be guilt-free. So just say horrible things to people that you've always wanted to tell off and then pop one of the.
Starting point is 01:01:58 You won't feel guilty. or just go out and, I don't know, shoplift something that you really have always wanted but don't want to spend that much money, pop one of these, you're not going to feel guilty. They're guilt-free pouches, ladies gentlemen, delivering instant focus and mental clarity, so it'll help you figure out how to get away with this shit. No, again, none of these things, but we have a great deal. What we could say is what we know is factual. We have a great deal for the listeners for these great ultra pouches that I like,
Starting point is 01:02:28 and we think the listeners may too, right? Well, as a matter of fact, you know what? Here's the thing. Before I give you this code, they sent me a free sample. But, you know, just between me and a few people, if you're really interested, I could give you a heck of a price on mine just under the table. No, you can buy it direct with a great deal. I guess because there'd be too many people out there try.
Starting point is 01:02:51 Okay, well, folks, new customers can right now go to Take Ultra or old customers. that would like to renew their acquaintance. Take Ultra.com and new customers can use the code JCE to get 15% off of these fine pouched products that contain no nicotine nor the caffeine. So you won't fiend for either of the teens or the fiends. Take Ultra.com.
Starting point is 01:03:22 promo code is JCE for 15% off the new customers and tell them you heard about them here, and you want to know more about keeping your blood vessels from exploding and causing your blood to literally explode from all the orifices of your body. Or, as we were saying, for some great extra focus, a cool feeling, don't sleep on ultra pouches, new customers, 15% of them. No, those are helix mattresses. That's what you sleep on.
Starting point is 01:03:54 We're talking about ultra pouches now. One more time, Jim, that promo, for the great deal. JCE at take ultra.com. Ultra! All right, well, before we go any further away, he's back. Wait a minute. He's back.
Starting point is 01:04:12 He's back. Now, before we go any further, I do have an update on an earlier story has come across the desk here. I want to just mention this. 60s sitcom actor director, Jerry Paris, has filed suit against jerrys of Paris over the website jerrysofparis.com. So we'll keep it out. But unfortunately there's a third entity,
Starting point is 01:04:40 apparently a fridge clothing designer that has a dog in this fight. So we're going to keep you updated on what's going on out there. But it could be curtains for Jerry's big boy. Hate to see that happen. All right, let's straighten up. up here let's let's stop laughing and talk about the fucking greatest rib in the history of wrestling maybe that that that wasn't proper english but brian when you and i just sat down here a mere
Starting point is 01:05:12 seven days ago on the last episode of the experience and we reviewed and critiqued and etc the dark side of the ring episode on missy hyatt you had brought up that there had been a photo, a wedding announcement of Missy Hyatt and Eddie Mansfield, the disgraced former pro wrestler that exposed the business because he had boo-boo face because he was the shits and wasn't being used in the main events, of their marriage, right, and a wedding picture and everything. And this was a secret part of Missy's life. You know, that we said, well, it kind of maybe could add up.
Starting point is 01:06:02 But before she started in the wrestling business, whatever. And who was it that called your attention to that picture? You fingered somebody. I think you mentioned a name. Did you name a name? I didn't name a name, but it was several people a few years back discovered it. I got newspapers.com or whatever. And then what the fuck is this?
Starting point is 01:06:23 And then it went around because I remember that. Okay. Well, the point is it was a rib because Missy is a sometime listener of the, I'm not saying she's religious with her perusal of our podcast, but she heard us talking about her. Hello, Missy. And she tweeted out some clarifications. Besides fact, let me lead with this. This blew my mind because I've seen the picture and the ad in question, but the Melissa, Hyatt from Florida who liked good guys and bad guys, the 12-year-old that wanted pen pals in one of
Starting point is 01:07:07 the editions of the Bill After magazines, that was not her. That was not our Missy. And I guess you can have two Melissa Hyatt's in a country this big, you know, that are 12 years old and blonde, but she looked and the real Missy says, she hoped that she wasn't like the child wasn't abducted by any of the good guys or the bad guys that she liked. But here's the story behind the wedding picture. And they mentioned a dark side of the ring that Missy was somewhat of a, as she described herself as this, a spoiled child. And her dad would always let her off with shit. She wrecked a car nine times.
Starting point is 01:07:55 She wrecked cars. He'd buy her another one and this and that. apparently to fucking, to repay him for all his kindness she wouldn't give the poor old fella a heart failure. She was at a friend's wedding and met
Starting point is 01:08:14 Eddie Mansfield there and she was already watching wrestling, I guess, on television, because she said in the program that her father had stopped on the wrestling program, so I assume he watched a bit of it as well. and she had a picture taken with Eddie Mansfield and got a wedding announcement put in the Tallahassee paper
Starting point is 01:08:37 so her dad would see it as a rib to fuck with him which before she was ever in the wrestling business so she had no way of knowing that people in 45 years or whatever would be searching newspapers.com for any information on her early connection to wrestling or probably anything else for that matter. And she just was ribbing her fucking, her poor father who probably had a heart failure.
Starting point is 01:09:09 My daughter's marry a wrestler. Well, Jim, I just googled this. Eddie Mansfield apparently did an interview talking about this. This was one of the subjects. One of the subjects was you. He just went off on you on several occasions, apparently. In this interview, your name's higher. I'm glad the message has been delivered.
Starting point is 01:09:30 Let's see what you think about your history. What are his issues with Jim Cornett? Let me give someone credit for this. This is from the show Wrestling EpiCenter, and they interviewed Eddie Mansfield. James Walsh was the interviewer. So if we go here, his issues with Jim Cornett. Jim Cornett is the biggest dumbass in the history of wrestling.
Starting point is 01:09:52 He calls himself a historian? My ass! He was a mark taking pictures around rings. side. The only reason he got a job is because Jimmy Hart was leaving Memphis. Jimmy Hart gave him the job to cover his ass with Jared and the king. I live, I lived Memphis before Jimmy did. Jimmy Hart got tired of being on the Bologna tour.
Starting point is 01:10:19 You know, I never worked Memphis. Wait a minute. Bologna? Or Bologna, I guess. Who could say? The Bologna. Down south, you say Bologna, because my bologna has a first name. and it's fucking Eddie Mansfield, but go ahead. Well, Jimmy Hart got tired of being on the bologna tour. You know, I never worked Memphis. They begged me to work Memphis. Oh, good Lord.
Starting point is 01:10:40 I never wanted to work Memphis because I couldn't make any money there. They called Memphis the bologna. I can agree with that statement. I can't think of a place he could have made any money. You know, you can't buy a dime's worth of food at the local diner with ego. Well, Jimmy Hart was headed up to New York with Hulk Hogan, and as you know, Hulk, When he'd stop, he'd always have bumper signals.
Starting point is 01:11:03 You know why the Hulk had bumper signals? Because every time he'd stop, Jimmy Hart would have his nose up his ass. Jesus Christ, now he's on poo-poo with the nicest guy in the wrestling business. Jimmy's the biggest stooge for Hulk in the world and always has been. But God bless him. I love Jimmy. I think Jimmy Hart is the greatest thing in the world. I really do.
Starting point is 01:11:24 He's a dear friend of mine. So is Hulk. But Jimmy's funny, man. He's stuck to him. Do you hope that all of your other friends praise you the way that Eddie Mansfield does? Here's him talking about being blackballed after 2020. Let's get the fucking story straight. I was blackballed by Ole Anderson before I ever did 2020.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Do you know where I got to tape the air during the 2020 special? From Eddie Farhat, the original chic. He knew, like he ever called him Eddie. He knew I was going to do it. do you know that he told me to stick it right up their ass for what they did to me this is the truth from the horse's mouth not someone like jim cornet what the fuck nobody gives a shit about jim cornet he's just trying to be relevant well wait about hold on before he's like a hemorrhoid that won't go away before we continue on with with my hemorrhoids what tape is he even talking about that the sheik would have given him for 2020 refresh my memory or can you you think of it. He bladed on their camera. Yeah, it was him. They showed clips of Eddie Mansfield like in a
Starting point is 01:12:35 in a ring, like in an empty place. Well, yeah, because the Sheik's dying territory was one of the last places that he could work, but I'm pretty sure they probably just fair use that, if anything. It wasn't like he got him footage from the garden.
Starting point is 01:12:51 We're talking early 85. The Sheik was long done by that point. That's what I'm, I'm thinking that they're doing independent outlaw shows in Ontario that the sheikh may have done when he was home. But nevertheless. Here's Eddie Mansfield on what happened when the newspaper article came out
Starting point is 01:13:12 that said he was married to Missy Hyatt. Nah, that was all bullshit. I had this damn girl who was just haunting me, haunting me, haunting me, haunting me. You know what I mean? Well, I was banging Missy at the time. And that is when she was a nine. and heavy change, brother. So I said the missy, I need a little help here.
Starting point is 01:13:35 So he put it in the paper that we were married so the other girl would move along. I probably shouldn't have done that. So a very Eddie Mansfield is the hero-centric version of the story from Eddie Mansfield. A slightly different version. I believe the rib on my father rather than the, well, he was being lusted after
Starting point is 01:13:57 by so many of these fanatical women that he had to put out false information that he was married from a guy that's been noted for putting out false information for the past 50 years. The Continental Lover, known for picking up women all over the place.
Starting point is 01:14:12 But anyway, so folks, we wanted to correct that piece of business on, Missy should not be credited with an extra husband. Can I put out there now the next mystery we need solve from a newspaper? Yes, yes.
Starting point is 01:14:26 The one, I don't have it in front of me, I have it here somewhere. I believe it's from 1983 that says some woman in Missouri is engaged or Rick Flair. And again, it names like her whole family. And then I have a photo from like the next year in 84.
Starting point is 01:14:44 When Flair was in New Zealand, the matches would Harley race. And there in the front row is Liam Ivia. And I think maybe Ata. And then there's Rick Flair's girlfriend. So what exactly? Because that's the same. time, obviously a Starcade 83 brings
Starting point is 01:15:01 Beth out to the ring. Everyone knew that was a thing. So what what's the story? This is our new segment. What's the story? What's the story? Or we could honor Tracy Smothers with it. What's your deal, man? What's your deal? All righty. Well, moving along
Starting point is 01:15:21 since we're in the flavor of the dark side of the ring for we were referring to the Missy Hyatt episode, or it could be the dark side, of Rick Flair's girlfriends around the world. But let's talk about the dark side of the ring on Zach Gowan. The one-legged wonder and, Brian, I'm going to break with tradition.
Starting point is 01:15:45 I'm going to give you my summation at the start and then we'll flesh it out. But I'm going to be perfectly honest. I hated the whole idea from the start of a skinny, one-legged guy being a wrestler, much less interacting with the main event level talent and matches with Vince McMahon and Brock Lester and blah, blah, blah, it's so preposterous visually, and it made the business look, again, ridiculous
Starting point is 01:16:15 because it's so easy anybody could do it, even a one-legged guy, blah, blah, blah. Plus, I never met him, but I always heard he was a dick while he was up there. but after watching this episode and hearing him speak in the present day and hearing him actually not only admit but be able to laugh at and analyze why and how he was such a fuck up I like this fucking guy
Starting point is 01:16:49 I still don't like the idea of the one-legged wrestler but I like the guy that he is today. He's probably the only one they've had in the history of Dark Side of the Ring that gave a fair and accurate representation, especially of the bad stuff, of his entire career.
Starting point is 01:17:15 What do you think? Of Zach Allen the person or of the episode? Well, of what, of the opinion that I just espoused in some fashion. seemed like a really good guy. I agree with you. He seemed like a really good guy. I liked him. He spoke at the school of one of my kids a few years back and they
Starting point is 01:17:34 came home and told me about it and they really liked him. They thought he was really cool and nice. As far as the episode goes, last one of the season, I thought it may be the best one of the season. And I think maybe there's something to be said for the fact that when they tackle some of these subjects
Starting point is 01:17:52 that are not as glamorous, I guess you say, to the modern fan, like the renegade, Missy Hyatt, Zach Allen. I think these are some of their best episodes. Not the high-profile ones like the Jeff Jarrett or whatever. I thought this was a really good episode. I thought they did a good job here.
Starting point is 01:18:11 And a lot of that centered around him, who seems incredibly centered, who seems like he really has his head wrapped around and how much he fucked up. And not to jump ahead, maybe the best example of that is him describing Jim Ross letting him go
Starting point is 01:18:28 saying that you know what he was saying was you have to be more mature you have to be ready and he heard it as we don't like you, you're awful, you're terrible whatever it was I thought this is a great episode yeah and apart to your point about some of the
Starting point is 01:18:47 it's the the road less traveled on some of these stories the lesser known people that may not be as glamorous of name recognition, but their stories have been told and overtold, whereas these have not been beat to death, or in some
Starting point is 01:19:04 cases told it all on any kind of mainstream basis. And I think now hopefully they've got, you know, the reputation that they're going to tell a halfway decent story where some of these lesser known, I will say lesser known, he was on WWF television,
Starting point is 01:19:22 but lesser traveled roads of stories are told and you know that's the thing is like I said I was as you can imagine I was not in fact I'm running a fucking wrestling school where at or near that era we have had the Cinas and the Brocks and the fucking Batistas and the Orton's and we're going to have a variety more and they're working in scratching and clawing, and some of them have weighted tables to get contracts to get the chance that they hire a one-legged fucking guy he's on TV the next week. And he's 19 years old, and he's 100 and whatever pounds. I was not in favor of it, as I said, for the look that it gave the business and the taste
Starting point is 01:20:18 level, much of it which was bad of beating up a one-legged fucking teenage kid. I know it got over, but also, you know, would goat fucking get over? Could you do it on the USA Network? And also the jumping of the line there, which none of that was his fault, as they pointed out. But, you know, at the time we heard, oh, and he's also, he's a dickhead to it. and fuck up, whatever. But then this episode did a good job of painting the picture of how overwhelmed he must have been. Because he didn't just go get into the wrestling business and get to the WWE.
Starting point is 01:21:09 He paid Truth Martini, apparently my old friend from Rig of Honor Truth Martini, to train him without telling Truth that he had one leg until Truth had the money. And then he took his leg off, but he was working like little spot shows after having been barely trained and six months later, he's teaming with Hulk Hogan,
Starting point is 01:21:37 straight into the big time. So I tried to think, you know, I didn't, obviously, self-destruct when I got in a business at 21 or whatever, but I'd been around it, close to it, in some fashion, for five or six years, and I was, I was thrilled that I was in the business, but I was not overwhelmed,
Starting point is 01:22:07 because I kind of sort of could see what the fuck was going on already. And I did start live on Memphis TV when that meant something, but not on national TV back in the days when six or eight million people were watching. You know, not to go too far ahead, not to go too far ahead, but you mentioned Truth Martini. There was a clip of him in 2010 in Ring of Honor with Truth Martini. You would have been there for that, right? I saw that and I am trying to remember whether and probably not is the answer, because it would have, I think it would have been in Detroit
Starting point is 01:22:52 because the truth was managing. We were running periodic shows in Detroit, and I don't know whether that, I don't think that was a show I was at. But I know that they were using, you know, local guys or guys that could be an attraction. And I remember there being some discussion because truth was friends with,
Starting point is 01:23:15 with Zach Gowan. But I have no memory of being there. So now, God, he's going to hear this, and it'll send him into another spiral of depression if I actually met him once, and I don't remember it. But nevertheless, his mother seems very nice. She seems to be a nice lady. But basically the way that he was able to get into business
Starting point is 01:23:46 after he got some lessons, and he was a fan, so he knew what it was supposed to look like. He was obviously athletic. You wonder what kind of athlete he could have been with two legs, but at the same point, because he was light of body weight, and a lot of his stuff was leaping, and he had compensated, you had to think that he could probably kick the bejeezes out of you, that one leg, right?
Starting point is 01:24:17 Because that's what he's bouncing on his whole fucking life. He did 24-hour calisthenics. But he sent a tape to Bill Barron's. Bill Barron's has not changed in 30 years. He has not aged a day. Did you see that? I saw that.
Starting point is 01:24:35 Have you ever met Bill Barron's? I met him in the late 90s. I want to say it was the if it was not the NWA convention that Dennis Carluso did, it was something around that period of time. Very nice guy. yes and again I don't know he's ageless because he was he gave me the impression of being
Starting point is 01:24:53 the wise old elder of me back then but he always gives people the impression he's a wise old elder but I guess so now he's 90 years old whatever the fuck um and so Zach Goward says well I mean hey somebody's got to do it you know if if Bill can live to 90 there's hope for the rest of us. So he sent tape to Barron's in T&A when he was in the early days. This was 2002 probably the first year. And he said that Bill and the Jarrett's brought him to Nashville for T&A. What they did was they told him, if you drive down here from Detroit,
Starting point is 01:25:36 we'll let you wrestle. But that's, I mean, they were starting out. And who would have thunk that a one-legged fellow but he did and brought truth so he could work with him and got over because people didn't expect what that is the one thing that was the truth about him and it did get him over is that nobody expected that shit to take place
Starting point is 01:26:01 that he could do all that stuff and the part out, do you think that Zach when he said, here's quote was he appeared in T&A and somehow it got to the WWE office. Do you think Heyman never told him who the fuck had been, oh, you know, well, maybe he don't want to take credit for it.
Starting point is 01:26:27 Every kid showed up, it was a goddamn maniac. But the story that I always heard, because they told the story of Johnny A. signed the wrong one-legged guy, but they didn't tell the story of how Vince found out, but I guess Zach Gowan wasn't on the plane. I guess nobody was on the plane.
Starting point is 01:26:48 I wasn't on the plane, but I talked to somebody was on the plane. When Vince found out that Johnny signed the wrong one-legged guy, Paul Heyman, from what I heard and I believe, because he's
Starting point is 01:27:04 always over all over everything, had been telling Vince, you got to get the one-legged guy, there's this one-legged kid, you got to get him. Paul knows what the fuck's going on everywhere, or did back, then at least when he was young and and very chipper
Starting point is 01:27:21 and so Vince told Johnny Ace go to sign the one-legged guy well Johnny Ace doesn't know what the fuck is going on in the world of wrestling in any fashion or event or place or company or whatever he's the opposite of Heyman so he instead of fucking
Starting point is 01:27:45 I guess he was like, I'll show Vince I can do this on my own. So he called Steve Kern, who was running into, what was it, Florida championship wrestling at the time or what, no, it was even before they had moved the developmental way, Kern had just started training guys, right? That's what I think, yeah. And of course, Kern says, oh, I know if I got him right here because son
Starting point is 01:28:15 of a good when you know who won a pony he was training a one-legged guy but this one-legged guy was in his late 30s and was 200 pounds and blah blah blah so the the confrontation came when they were all on the plane together loronitis and vince and haman and laur and i said by the way vince i signed the the one-legged guy and it's all great great and And then Lorinias trying to get over on Haman turns Haman, so, Paul, you were wrong. He's, he's not a kid. He's almost 40 years old.
Starting point is 01:28:56 And Paul says, no, he's not. And Johnny said also he's, he's like he's 200 pounds. And Paul says, no, he's not. And then Lauren I say, yeah, his name is fucking Tits McGee. I don't know what the guy's name was. And Paul said, no, it's fucking not. That's not his name. And then Vince said to sit there.
Starting point is 01:29:23 I don't know how that he still remained as tight to use a turn of a phrase as he was Laurenitis years later. But he sat there and looked at him as bad as Vince was on incompetence. He signed a wrong one-legged wrestler. And I heard that it cost him 75 grand to send. to get back to Florida. Would have been a natural feud. You cost me my contract, you stupid kid.
Starting point is 01:29:54 I'll get you. Yeah, but the thing is, one of them, if they'd have put two one-legged guys against each other, one of them invariably would have got hurt. Then it would have gone to court, although eventually they would have found that they needed one head and leg to stand on.
Starting point is 01:30:11 All right, back to dark side. But nevertheless, so it's going on here where he debuted in the angle with Hulk and Piper is a heel and whatever he's a fan out of the crowd and Piper tried to pull his real leg off what is the Piper and Haman? They cannot figure out which leg. And then as he's in this angle fucking
Starting point is 01:30:39 Hulk leaves and Vince gets mad and fires Piper that was the time he went off and talked. talked about how everybody was fucking dead in the wrestling business. It ate it's young or whatever, right? He said he was in the limo when Vince found out about it. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool. He's thinking, I would have been thinking it might have been riding in a car with Watts
Starting point is 01:31:02 in Mid-South when he fired the Rocker Roll Express and the Midnight Express. I'd have been going, what the if I just fucking got here? Oh, so then he worked with Vince. So if Vince could beat up the one. legged guy because again this is Vince's when Vince decided to be a heel he was going to do
Starting point is 01:31:23 every reprehensible heel thing that you could possibly imagine that you could get away with on broadcast and or cable television and part of that he figured out a way to where he could beat the shit out
Starting point is 01:31:38 of a goddamn handicapped person and get away with it in a wrestling context and it's brilliant on his part, but, you know, and at least Zach busted him open with the chair. But that's, you know, then Charlie Haas is going to see Charlie Haas
Starting point is 01:32:02 back on television. Told a story that he started not listening to the guys. He was telling Angle and Brock and Haas and Big Show and those guys exactly, you know, here's what I'm going to do. I'll knock you, told Big Show, I'll knock you, I'll knock you, told Big Show, I'll knock.
Starting point is 01:32:17 knock you off the apron and say, fuck you will. I can't imagine the nuclear heat that would have been on this guy at that point. But, you know, that's the point is the bigger part of this story, more of the dark side is the money, the women, the booze, and the pills. And I must admit to at least falling a victim to being a young fellow to the women part of it, but it didn't cost me that much money and the booze and pills didn't go along with it. But he was kind of a,
Starting point is 01:32:57 that's not even a trifecta, that's four, what is that a quadraphonic fuck up when you get into all those at the same time, Brian. Yeah, I mean, it's hard to be with the women when you're on the pills because, you know,
Starting point is 01:33:13 you may want to do things and then the pills kick in and you're like, oh boy, let's watch. Well, but at the same time, if you've only got one leg, you might need the pills to get the women to begin. with. The pills are the bait for the women to come, and then there you go.
Starting point is 01:33:30 Nevertheless, and then he worked with Brock and got too much juice. Arne Anderson, now I never asked really Arn about this, but he's a sticker in and twister. Remember we've talked about this before with Ricky Morton and the Armstrong boys? Because Ricky was a sticker in and twister
Starting point is 01:33:50 at Armstrong boys, were straight across. And apparently his sticking in and twist didn't work, but his straight across did. And it just, and that's another thing. You got a one-legged guy
Starting point is 01:34:05 that's being maligned by the biggest beast on the roster and he's bleeding buckets and his mother is crying over him. And nevertheless, as long as there's no bare boobie, involved, right?
Starting point is 01:34:24 And then he did the angle where they broke his leg, his actual leg, the only one he has, and he went out with his friends not selling the broken leg after it had been on television. Johnny Ace called him up.
Starting point is 01:34:38 Johnny, it's fucking fake. Oh my God. Say what you want about Laurinitis or any of the other people involved in this. For this particular guy in this particular situation with 12 weeks seniority to be telling John laryngitis, it's fucking fake, Johnny.
Starting point is 01:35:02 How? So that's when they fucking had him do a job. He got a concussion. They said, just give us a call when you're all right. And that turned into, give us a call in a few months. And that turned into come to New York so J.R. can smarten you up. and tell you go home and grow up, at which he then apparently just said,
Starting point is 01:35:32 fuck it, I'm never talking to these fucking people again. And he went on a downward spiral of drugs and not women and not money, just drugs and booze. So he at least he quit two of the four bad habits at that point, Brian. Drugs and Jimmy Jacobs, as it turns out. boy howdy i didn't know that poor jimmy jacobs was at one point that uh uh that way i don't know what to say anymore about everybody's goddamn issues and then he went this was this pains me because i barely missed this this would have been i'm sure it was an entertaining story going around
Starting point is 01:36:17 the t and a locker room but it was the year before i got there but he got the offer to go back to T&A. Come home, Zach. Hop home. All was forgiven. This line was the highlight of the whole thing. What a line. I don't know. Think about this now.
Starting point is 01:36:37 You got a chance to wrestle for these people where actually somebody in public saw you enough that it got heard about. Before they could sign you, you went to the big company and had a spot till you screwed it up. but now a couple years later, the original company said,
Starting point is 01:36:55 well, come back. You know, come on. Let's see how it works out. And you come down and you have a match and you get over and they're thinking about using you and you go up to the owner of the company, Jeff Jarrett. Hey, Jeff, you know where I can get any Coke?
Starting point is 01:37:14 Say what you want about Jeff Jarrett or the issues he's had with substances when a fucking aspiring employee who has burned you once and you've brought back on a probationary period of let's just see if the people give a shit and it looks positive should the guy then go up and ask the owner of the company
Starting point is 01:37:38 where he can find some fucking illegal drugs? That is balls. I mean, I don't know how you even get into the mindset of thinking that's okay. Of all the people there. And not even anybody on the, the roster just because he went up to Jeff's hotel room where everybody was congregating. He said, well, I'll just call Jeff over to the side.
Starting point is 01:37:56 No reason to ask him this out in public. What the fuck? Oh, my God. So you're telling me when I hire you to come work for me, you're going to be one of these wrestlers that's always fucked up on cocaine and ain't going to show up. Hey, boss, you know where I get some Coke? God, damn it. But again, the good thing about this.
Starting point is 01:38:20 is, it appears he's completely cleaned up his life, turned things around, has different priorities, and... Oh, yeah, that's what I've said. I fell in love with listening to this guy talk about what a dumb fuck he used to be. He's great. And he realizes, and he apparently has met his wife who still, he didn't clean up for it.
Starting point is 01:38:44 He got robbed while he was delivering pizza, but didn't give up his pills. But then he realized he was fucked. up and his mom had gotten the letter from WWW that they sent out probably first go round about rehab and they sent him to treatment
Starting point is 01:39:00 and then he has wrestled a few sporadic appearances but as you said he came to the school he speaks to people about addiction and having one leg of whatever the other things are that he speaks to people
Starting point is 01:39:16 about how not to fuck up overcoming cancer I mean a lot of things Overcoming cancer. So at least now, and he looks healthier now than he did then. So he's got that going for him. But boy, howdy, I'll tell you, I hate saying he wouldn't have had a long career anyway.
Starting point is 01:39:45 As an active wrestler, you can't imagine, I can't imagine, damage that the just the wear and tear much less potential injury on the hip socket the knees the knee ligaments the ankles
Starting point is 01:40:02 or the ankle but ligaments at some point he would have needed a variety of surgeries or replacements it would have been unavoidable doing the stuff he was able to do but he could have had
Starting point is 01:40:19 a smoother career in some other aspects of the business, as a few people said, had he been a little wiser to it, but he wasn't going to be doing that for a long period of time. I mean, even the most amazing athlete, you're still human. And I would think that would have been a ton of pressure on a variety of parts that you often have to have replaced in wrestling anyway, even when you got two up. You know, it reminds me of the Muhammad Hassan episode because here are two guys that had very brief periods in the spotlight in WWE.
Starting point is 01:41:02 And if things had worked out just a little differently, or if in Zach Allen's case he had behaved a little differently maybe, who really knows how different everything could have been? But you see these episodes and you say, you know what? It seems like this person is where they should be. They seem happy. They seem like they have their shit together. and it probably wouldn't be like that if they had stayed really super active in wrestling.
Starting point is 01:41:28 That's true. He's probably on a long-term basis after overcoming those issues and having a nice marriage and et cetera, being in a place he needs to be better. But he goes down in history. As the wrestler's so nice, they tried to sign him twice. They signed the wrong guy just to get this guy. What were the odds? What would you think?
Starting point is 01:41:55 Let's say, for example, you called up, well, I don't think you can call them up. They're not answering the phone as much as they used to. Our friends over at Price Picks, they've stopped picking up the phone line, but let's say you went to Price Picks, you said,
Starting point is 01:42:09 I'm going to pick more or more on the more or less of whether there is two one-legged wrestlers or not. Do you think they would, would they take that as a stat on the projection, on the daily fantasy, on the things that people do, on the games that people play? That may be a bit of a leap. Apparently, Zach Allen, though, when he saw an early AW pay-per-view with the wrestler with no legs, his first comment was, they're killing the business.
Starting point is 01:42:38 Son of a bitch. And they've always got to try to top somebody. That's right. So folks, they're right there. Go to prize picks right now. Download the prize picks app because you can pick more. on more or less of one completely legless wrestler. See, at what a then?
Starting point is 01:42:57 Then there was two with one leg, and then I'm still waiting on the three-legged wrestler, although certain people have said that it may have been Virgil. Nevertheless, folks, prize picks is also now an official daily fantasy partner of the NBA, speaking of Virgil, they have fantasies. And also, you can just jump in right now. into football because it's finally back. And right now, new users that sign up are going to get $150 in lineups if you win your
Starting point is 01:43:31 first $5 lineup. All you have to do is just pick more or less on two or six players and their projected stats like pass yards or rush yards. The fantasy score. How many times did they score when they went to the strip club fantasy? Tennessee. That's that's in Hoboken, New Jersey, isn't it, Brian? I wouldn't know and I don't believe. I don't know. I don't know. The point is, I love my family. I have no idea what you're talking about. Well, I tell you what, did you know that prize picks invented the injury reboot? If a player in your lineup gets injured in the first half and doesn't return, your lineup can still cash in. And they've also got to improved search functionality. That's where you can search for those injured players.
Starting point is 01:44:25 Sometimes when they limp off the field, well, whoever's in charge for the evil team owner will just put them in the back of a truck and dump them off the fucking pier somewhere. Because, you know, what's a good horse race when you've got a broken leg on a horse or whatever the old saying is. I don't know if that's the same.
Starting point is 01:44:43 So, yeah. Yeah, it's something like that. But you can also find live box scores to track your picks without having to leave the app. See, you've got your picks, you've got your app. All you need is a wheelbarrow and you can dig a trench. Folks, once again, right now, before anything else happens, download the prize picks app today and use the code JCE.
Starting point is 01:45:10 That's how you're going to unlock that magic mula where you get $150 in lineups instantly if you win your first $5 lineup, that's $150 instantly in lineups. If you win your first $5 lineup with the code JCE at prize picks where you can run your game and then run your con and then con people with your game and then make off with all the money. Do it in an honest way.
Starting point is 01:45:40 No cons involved here. We're talking prize picks long time friends about about that. Bye, bye, bye, bye. Long time, friends of this show, and of course, friends to anyone who wants a friend. Yes. Friends who need friends are the friendliest people in the world, ladies gentlemen. But yes, do it real honest.
Starting point is 01:46:04 Don't be a con and get their money. Boop, poop, and get their money. Jim, a great deal for the listeners. What do the listeners have to do? They've got to win their first five-d-dollar. lineup after they have downloaded the prize picks app and then they're going to get 100, they're going to get showered. They're going to make it rain on you with a shower of gold, a literal golden shower.
Starting point is 01:46:26 A not a literal golden shower. That's not what how are you applied a literal here. Of the gold of the guilt of the legal tender. And it'll fall upon you like rain. A downpour of gold. A downpour of gold. A downpour of gold is acceptable. A downpour of gold. Whose gardener is that?
Starting point is 01:46:47 Gold finger. He's the man, the man with the Midas Touch, who downloaded prize picks so much. Such a cold member runs up your sphincter from his massive loins. Are you combining songs now just and just making them dirty? That's when he fucks over the competition and wins all the gold. All right, listen, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 01:47:14 Yes. Here we are at the end of this moment, and Jim's going to tell you one more time and you get this great deal. It's been a moment in time, but now it's over. Now go on to your next moment by getting $150 in lineups instantly
Starting point is 01:47:31 if you win your first $5 lineup at prize picks because they run your game and you're only a prawn in the game. Prize picks. Well, Brian. I guess we ought to go ahead and talk about some WWE Smackdown, anything to put more time between us and talking about AEW.
Starting point is 01:47:52 I guess we should pick the lesser of two leaibles or the lesser of two weasels or evil lessons that we learned. I don't know what I'm saying. Smackdown was on a Friday night, it always is, and it's like groundhog day it's over and over the opening of the show is going to have an interview with somebody where somebody else comes out and a match is made and by the time that they get to that
Starting point is 01:48:32 match they're only going to have 10 minutes on the air and at the top of the 9 o'clock hour somebody else is going to come out and talk to us and somebody else going to come out and talk to them and they may or may not fight with each other. And in the middle is, bleh, even now, when they're trying to promote the big Sunday night's main event that's so much bigger, they couldn't even do it on Saturday. And were you blown away by this program? Were you impressed by this show? Not at all.
Starting point is 01:49:13 And you talk about the predictability of it. the format just feels stale, it feels old. You know, one of the things that I think caused the attitude error of success, although it may not be as big as, you know, the breakout stars of Mr. McMahon and Steve Austin and the Rock, etc., but all of a sudden it felt like a different show. It was more lively. Even when the bad shit was going on, it just felt like a different pace and a different everything than what Raw had been a year earlier, two years earlier.
Starting point is 01:49:44 because we, no matter who was writing the thing, we all were told, get to the fucking point, get to the action, get to blah, blah, blah, blah. Hey, you know, we couldn't just stand around and stop and talk for 30 minutes or take 10 minutes to walk to the ring. But eventually they did again. Look at the early 2000s, mid-2000s, where all of a sudden there were long promos,
Starting point is 01:50:09 guys didn't need interviewers at all anymore, the segments in the back became more... You know, in the attitude hour there really weren't a lot of these backstage segments like they started doing right after that.
Starting point is 01:50:23 And they continued for a long time, they continued to this day. We still have wrestlers giving long speeches in the ring. We still have everyone milking everything. It doesn't mean anything for a wrestler to come in the ring
Starting point is 01:50:37 and not talk for a minute, minute and a half because people are singing or chanting. because they do it for everyone. So then everyone's milking it. You're training people to not have to pay attention for a minute, minute, and a half, whatever it may be. And then the backstage segments are as fake as ever.
Starting point is 01:50:54 Whether they're with talented top wrestlers or the female roster or the bad comedy, it doesn't feel fresh at all. And it feels lame. And I don't know. I mean, they had a bunch of main eventers in the main event and I kind of didn't care
Starting point is 01:51:14 and it didn't really feel like I had any I didn't have any urgency to watch this show and as I was watching it I just kept thinking I could have watched this tomorrow morning I don't need to really watch this now there's no the main event the case of the show and the format of the show
Starting point is 01:51:30 something has to be done to liven it up and and formatting you've got the only thing you have to do when you write to television show is if you got seven segments and six breaks or six segments and five breaks
Starting point is 01:51:46 or if it's a two hour show, 12 segments, 11 breaks, whatever, that's the only thing you have to do. Otherwise, you can do anything you want because you're writing the fucking show. And sometimes things can break loose and become unexpected
Starting point is 01:52:04 and sometimes things go according to the format. There's nothing to matter with having a T-Ben TV main event signed that you can announce when you go on the air, but then one of the assholes involved in it comes out and does something to somebody that brings the other guy out and they get in a little fucking skirmish. But it doesn't have to be just made up on the spot because, for one thing, it's so ridiculous to believe that they've got a national television broadcast
Starting point is 01:52:32 that's micromanaged in every other way down to the goddamn second, and every gesture and every word. But yeah, we're going to leave it open and see what happens in the first segment as to what our main event is. Even just the whole casual, anyone can walk out their music plays. Like it's so old hat right now.
Starting point is 01:52:56 It just, especially with things not as hot as they were. It just feels like a dead show. Maybe it's just me, but to me... Well, it's not dead, but boy, it could use a trip to the fucking rest of it. home for some rejuvenation. But that's the thing is that if it's so
Starting point is 01:53:17 similar all the time, it accentuates the fact that it's scripted and controlled and prearranged and the words that people are saying are given to them ahead of time. And that's why only the really
Starting point is 01:53:36 top talkers sometimes can break out this thing because they sound somewhat legitimate even when they're doing the scripted shit. But nevertheless, we started the SmackDown episode. They recounted what happened with Punk and Owens and Sammy last week. And then here came Kevin Owens. Were they not just in Ottawa? Who was in Ottawa just now?
Starting point is 01:54:04 Raw was in Ottawa. Well, why are they in fucking Ottawa for SmackDown, too? Did they tape this? Because it didn't say live on the screen at all during the show. Well, I don't know. Because if I haven't seen it, it's new to me, which is borne out by the fact that every time we used to do a tape show, it'd be the same fucking rating as a goddamn live show.
Starting point is 01:54:28 Anyway, they're now singing to O'Lay for him. O'Lay, O'Lay, O'Lay, O'Lay, O'Lay. And his story is he got cleared so that he could go to Toronto and win the title in front of his home people and his parents, his mother who was ill a couple years ago, she was there, but Sammy ruined it.
Starting point is 01:54:50 Isn't he from Montreal? He's not from Toronto. Well, his home country, and his parents drove, apparently. It ain't that far. Montreal and Toronto, it's like, what, 300 miles or whatever, something like that.
Starting point is 01:55:06 And then he said, and I had punk beat. I was the better man but punk capitalized on Sammy's actions but I'm not done with you yet punk you little bitch and then punk came storming out with no music
Starting point is 01:55:22 at least that was something he probably insisted on it because you're going to call me a bitch and Aldus is chasing him and we can fight right now and then Gunther comes out enough these two hate each other because they're
Starting point is 01:55:40 just alike, but what matters now is me and Owens, your mom kicked out, but you didn't. And punk is for you, and then Finn Baller's music plays. And it's like they've always got something going. Goethe's top guy, punk's top guy, Owen's top guy, here comes Finn. But they needed somebody in there, I guess. Anyway, so Finn said, you forgot about me. And I said, we wish. So Finn wanted both of them to beat him first because the line starts with him,
Starting point is 01:56:21 but all this almost immediately, they must have been going over. He said, no, it's a triple threat match for the number one contender tonight. That's our main event. See you later. Boom. So I know they can't just be, you know, beating Gunther or beating Kevin or whatever, but they add Finn to it, but then they do a fucking gaga deal anyway.
Starting point is 01:56:51 Why is Finn in this? What is, what pictures does Finn have of anybody? I don't know. Again, I wasn't really invested in any of this. Well, then just to continue on, because we're only going to talk about another thing or two, to the main event at the end of the show, Owens versus Gunther versus Finn,
Starting point is 01:57:15 by the time they get in a ring, ring the bell. We got 10 minutes on the air. They go two minutes and go to a break. So counting the minute and a half or whatever two minutes that the afterbirth took, we literally saw three minutes of this triple threat match on television. And finally, boom, boom, boom, they had knocked out the fucking referee. I'm sorry, first of all, Sammy came out and pulled out. Finn had double stomped
Starting point is 01:57:48 Gunther and covered him and Sammy pulled Finn out and when the referee rolled out to fucking see about that he nailed the referee but then Owen stunnedered Gunther and the second referee came out but Sammy knocked him out and that's when punk music played
Starting point is 01:58:09 like Mussolini he's going to do it the second time even though he wouldn't do it the first time the music plays for him to run out. I guess maybe they thought, well, will people recognize punk if his music doesn't play? But he came out and got to fight with Sammy and beat Sammy up and then got in the ring and he and Owens got in a fight.
Starting point is 01:58:35 And they were fighting when Sammy came in with the belt and knocked Owens out and then knocked Finn out and knocked Gunther out and then knocked Punk out. And laid all four of them out with the belt. and we went off the air. So that was like a nice little angle, but I don't know that, shouldn't they have given us a little match first,
Starting point is 01:59:00 just for the sake of it? They loaded this show up with women's segments. You know, they wanted to get Page and, whatever the fucking Ellen off. The other, the fellow, the girl, the, yeah, did I write that? I didn't even write that down. It was.
Starting point is 01:59:19 Yeah, no. Tiffy and Chelsea wrestled Lash and Nia. And, oh, that's another thing. They beat Chelsea. You're talking about the girls' segments. Oh, it's Paige and Jane Wayne Gacy is who it was here. Yeah. But what they, God damn it.
Starting point is 01:59:40 Chelsea's wrestling already with a face mask, but she was in a tag match so she could back her friend Tiffy up against these two wildebeests. they didn't milk it. They have it. They had it there. Chelsea has 30 days to defend the title. And she could be coming in and making her presence fell to Allah. We talked about it when Austin was hurt,
Starting point is 02:00:08 but he kept coming in and doing the wild things without being in risk physically. And they could have cornered her, even if she's healed. It doesn't matter. They could have cornered her into defending the title against so-and-so. And then she gets a quick win and frustrates the heel. But instead, she came out wearing the mask. She took a shot to the face.
Starting point is 02:00:32 She rolled out. The doctor was checking her. They two-on-one Tiffy. And the doctors were trying to take Chelsea out when, like James Brown throwing off the cape, she turned around and came back, tagged in, made a comeback, and Nia Jax punched her, Samoan dropped her, and bonzider, and beat her one, two, three. So that's done now. That right there was, that's it.
Starting point is 02:01:03 Why would they do that? I don't know. But they beat her already. It wasn't even a title match. They put her in the ring already when they got a reason to keep her out and keep the momentum going. and they're dumb. To quote Dennis Condry, standing on top of the Starcate 86 scaffold,
Starting point is 02:01:28 we're dumb motherfuckers! Do you have any thoughts on that? That was Smackdown. Unless you have anything else to add. No, no, it was... No, remember? Cody and Orden had to come out and talk to meet each other. Oh, yeah, that was something.
Starting point is 02:01:47 That was an idea they had. Well, that was certainly something that they executed in some fashion. So they've got the rule that if either one of them hits the other one before Sunday night and the main event, that they can't ever have another title shot. And again, when you fence yourself into these fucking cattle pins, why can't they just say that from now on for everybody? Think about it.
Starting point is 02:02:17 If you can say in one instance, no outside interference allowed by the, the promotion, then you've just buried yourself if there's ever outside interference again. Looking at you, Tony Kahn. And the same thing, if you can tell bit, well, you can't fight each other or elsewise you'll never get whatever and they adhere to it at the main event level like Cody and Orton, then you can't ever fucking allow it again. nevertheless Cody cut a promo on Orton he makes bad choices Brian every time he has a decision
Starting point is 02:02:59 he goes the wrong way does Orton and all he's gotten his wrist slaps and doovers his entire career but Sunday night it won't be Randy beating Randy it'll be Cody killing the I hear voices in my head music and Orden comes out we knew this would happen.
Starting point is 02:03:25 And Orden tells Cody that all the bad decisions were early in his career. And you ought to know that because back when I needed a babysitter, somebody to be my bitch, it was you driving me around here and there and getting me tucked in. And he, Orden has turned into one of the best promos in the business. and he fucking unloaded on Cody is trying to get him to punch him and then asked about Cody's dog
Starting point is 02:03:58 and then calling his mother trailer trash and it says your trashy-ass wife going to be there but Cody wouldn't fall for it because he's counting the days till Sunday night's main event and he left with the line to Randy Orton are you a generational star like my dad was or a first class screw up like your dad was? And now Orton was pissed.
Starting point is 02:04:31 And here we had another girl's match. Smackdown. Well, what a great smackdown and the anticipation simmers for Sunday night's main event. The anticipation, is it simmering? Is it boiling? Is it about to bubble over? or has it gone to quote Steve Austin's ex-wife Stone Code?
Starting point is 02:05:02 Well, Jim, why don't we talk about Sunday night's main event, a preview of it? It's coming up right around the corner next Sunday, as it turns out. Well, certainly they've changed the night and they've got all this promotion for it. It has to be a loaded, a stacked lineup, just a fucking Hall of Fame-level fucking car. Well, Jim, here it is Sunday night's main event, September 6th. from Atlanta, Georgia, the State Farm Arena on Peacock. For those of you forgot about Peacock. Wait, but they've gone from the Omni in Atlanta to the State Farm Arena.
Starting point is 02:05:37 Not even, it used to be the Phillips Arena. Is that same building or did they build another one? You know the problem I had was State Farm, don't you? What, they weren't on your side? I took out a policy with them one time. They called me up and told me to find a new neighbor. All right. Well, Jim...
Starting point is 02:05:57 You don't remember that commercial, do you? I remember that commercial. It was a... Yeah. But you got it, Toyota. We're going to make old references to commercials right now. All right, Jim. Let's go to the lineup for Sunday night's main event.
Starting point is 02:06:10 A big four-match card as of this very second, of course. In the Tony Khan style, they have plenty of time. Four matches. Four matches as a present. I bet you that's all we get, then. We have a six-woman tag team match. Oh, crap. Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Tatum Paxley
Starting point is 02:06:33 versus Jade Cargill, Meachin, and B-Fab. Ooh. Boy, there's so many things that could go wrong there. Because poor old Mia Yim, she can work. She's just in the stooge roll, but that, K-Fabe makes Jade look like Shogusa Nagayo, doesn't she? I don't know if I would go that far, but...
Starting point is 02:07:02 So... Yeah, we'll see what happens with Charlotte and their new sidekick, little Tatum. You know, I liked her in Paper Moon. That's a different little Tatum. That's a grown-up Tatum now, Tatum O'Neill. Well, she's always going to be Little Tatum to me. Did you like the bad news bears when it came out?
Starting point is 02:07:22 Yeah, but I... I like the one when they went to Japan better because they beat up Anoki. Yeah, but it's the worst movie of the bunch. I didn't know there was more than two. I just knew they made one, and then they made one where they went to Japan and beat up anoki. No, that's the third one. The second one is the one where they go to the Houston Astrodome, and they play there, and the fans get behind the kids so that the kids can play.
Starting point is 02:07:44 All right, we'll have to review this on a later episode. Jim. Yeah, a later episode. It sounds a little more exciting than what we're talking about now, though. In a match with a five-minute time limit, if Yadi lasts for five minutes, Trick Williams will receive a rematch for the U.S. championship on the same night.
Starting point is 02:08:02 Baron Corbin, the U.S. champion versus Lil Yadi in his pro wrestling debut with Trick Williams. Okay, and it's going to be a trick. Obviously, they need to have Baron Corbin and Trick Williams, so herein lies the problem. They're going to have to figure out some contrived smoke and mirror way to have little Yachti last five minutes.
Starting point is 02:08:29 And that's what's probably going to be ugly about this. Because Corbin is nowhere near good enough to fucking carry anybody, much less a non-wrestler. And they've completely upended the psychology of this thing. It's supposed to be if the baby face beats the heel wrestling, he gets five minutes with the manager. That's supposed to be the fucking payoff and what everybody wants to see.
Starting point is 02:08:57 But with this, nobody wants to see Barron Corbyn face little Yachty, much less beat little Yachty. They want to see Baron Corbyn and Trick, and that's what we hopefully will get, but how they're going to get there, I got no idea how they're going to,
Starting point is 02:09:16 it's going to be fucked up one way or the other. And what's your prediction for Barron versus trick? Well, I don't know. My prediction would be that they would not only beat Baron Corbyn, but then put him in a body bag, set fire to that, and dump the ashes in the ocean. But since they're pushing him to this level, they might be stupid enough to have him beat Trick again. But I would hope not. They got something with Trick. The only way they got something with Baron Corbin is when you've got something you need to go to a clinic for. Jim, and at Paul Heyman on a pole match.
Starting point is 02:09:56 Obafemi versus Braun Breaker. I bet you they couldn't crank Heyman up on the highest yard arm in the British fleet, much less a regular old flimsy telephone pole. Oh, God, can you see AAA calling in the heavy-duty wreckers to get that tractor trailer off the fucking? again, I believe I said this a week or two ago. Oba's got a win, but he can't just beat Braun outright. There needs to be some type of shenanigan that plays into the idea that Paul is somehow teaching Braun a lesson,
Starting point is 02:10:42 not a lesson in humility, but maybe a lesson in overconfidence or a lesson of some kind that he will benefit from in the long run if that's the story they're telling, I'll go with it. If they just beat Braun and that's just that, you know, I don't understand. And it really doesn't have any oomf if Heyman trips Oba or something because no one really sees him
Starting point is 02:11:09 as Oba's manager. So the whole thing is a little off, but I'm looking forward to see what they do there. That's an exciting match to think about. finally Jim Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton who this could go either way because I can't believe that they're given away the one and only on a Sunday night's main event I would think this would be the first match in what will build to something
Starting point is 02:11:47 for a pay-per-view like Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, whatever the case may be. So I'm going to say Orton's going to go over. If they're only going to do this once, it makes no sense to do it on one of the least watched shows of the year, Sunday night main event on Peacock instead of a pay-per-view or a big regular television special, whatever. So this has to be the start of something.
Starting point is 02:12:12 In this case, I believe Randy Orton will win it somehow and Cody will have to go back and figure out the stipulation for the big show. Maybe another thing to get Cody upset. Maybe another thing to drive Cody into the arms of the dark side. We will see. That is Sunday night's main event gym on Peacock here in the States. Well, you know, that's here in the States on Peacock, Brian. But now the question is, the question is, what about everybody else?
Starting point is 02:12:45 What about everybody else around the world? They have different ways of watching things. And the people here in this country, since there's not a lot of WWE on Peacock these days, they may have stopped paying for cock. They may have let their subscription not just expire, but perspire. And they might have no access without going back and paying the corporate overlord that owns the Peacock Channel more money. If only, Brian, if only we had an alternative,
Starting point is 02:13:21 a way to tell our devoted fans who want to watch Sunday night's maid event or any kind of the WW programming, it's all over the streaming, how could they do it without moving to a foreign country or paying an exorbitant price for subscriptions? Is there any way, Brian? Of course, there's a way. there's a way with our very good friends at Surf Shark.
Starting point is 02:13:45 I forgot about that because with Surf Shark, let's just say, for example, that you're one of the people in America who has let that Peacock subscription expire, and you're not like your Canadian neighbors and our friends to the North, our former friends to the North. You, you can't see it. Or maybe you can. Because Surf Shark can kind of give certain,
Starting point is 02:14:12 entities, the impression that you are in a different geographic location than you might be at that current time. Brian, did I describe that correctly without admitting anything in court that I could be held liable for? I think so. I think you've done a good job. Well, if that's all you need to do, folks, because not only will Surf Shark protect your privacy, your privacy on the online communities, which we know that that's just, It's just riddled with potholes and pitfalls you can fall into and be kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom. But also, you can have Serp Shark tell these nameless, faceless internet gods,
Starting point is 02:14:58 where you want to be, not where you are, and you can get the advantage of all that programming that comes from people who you want to watch and only goes to people in other places than what you are. So be a world, be a citizen of the world with Surf Shark. Right, Brian. Well, again, what you could do is make sure you can see all the WWE events that are on Netflix and Canada, which are seemingly all of them, without needing multiple subscriptions for multiple services. I think that's kind of a way we could phrase it as well.
Starting point is 02:15:34 I'm subscribed to everything now because I don't know what all this shit shows on. So I just subscribe to everything. because I don't know how all this fancy Dan stuff works, but if you get Surf Shark on your side, folks, well, they'll do it for you. And you know what we can do right now, folks? We can save you money because you can not only secure your entire digital life with Surf Shark,
Starting point is 02:16:00 you can not only watch the WWE program that you would like to watch, you can get a completely risk-free trial with their 30-day money back guarantee and right now if you go to surfshark.com slash jCE use that code at checkout jce you're going to get four extra months of surf shark on top of what you sign up for at no additional charge now how about them apples those ain't crab apples what can you do four months at x imagine brian if you could just willy-nilly grant people four extra months of life, how important that would be. Well, in terms of wrestling, four months would take you through Survivor Series,
Starting point is 02:16:48 and that's a pretty good deal. Well, there you go. You would survive the entire rest of the year with that four extra months right there. So once again, folks, risk-free, 30-day money-back guarantee, secure your digital life, watch your WWE programming, and then if you get in real good with Surf Shark, and get that advanced tier, then you'll be able to tell them to tell people in your life that you're out of the country. Once again, they will contact your wife and say, hey, Joe has gone to Brazil for a week
Starting point is 02:17:22 and a half. They won't contact your wife or anyone else. You will contact them here via the link that Jim's going to tell you to get a great deal. And of course, that's all it is, a great deal for you to access WWE on Netflix in Canada without having to subscribe to multiple things for multiple different prices. Jim, I understand. They stopped covering for you when you go out of the country
Starting point is 02:17:45 and you have no fucking alibi? You may be confusing situations here or maybe we just have to have an off-air talk. But Jim, I think it was mentioned before. You have a great code and a... A great code. It was mentioned before. A way for people to get this great deal. This greatness everywhere.
Starting point is 02:18:05 I'll mention the son of a gun again. JCE is the code at surfshark.com where you're going to get four extra months of surf shark over and above, and in addition to what you sign up for, because we love you and you'll love them, and they'll love us, and love will be in the air, except with your wife when you got no alibi for that week and a half that you're going to be away from home.
Starting point is 02:18:32 Surfshark.com. That's right. Watch WWE on Netflix in Canada. Save yourself some money, surfshark.com promo code JCE. This is your show. Oh, well no. Somebody else was on somebody else's show. Before we get to the AEW information from dynamite, I understand that they took Will Ostrich and stuck him on regular television over at England to try to promote this stadium event. and let's just say it wasn't the most high pressure sales pitch to go to Wembley Stadium is what I've heard, but I haven't really heard any of the comments yet. Well, Jim, we have some audio here we can play. This has been getting sent around, and I'll be honest, some people have jumped on something Will Osprey said here, and I think maybe, you know, it's one thing to talk about some of
Starting point is 02:19:26 the silly comments he makes, but when you're trying to save a promotional appearance that really is not going the right way, you know, things change. We'll play various bits of audio here. This is from Good Morton. Good Morton. This is from Good Morton. It's a very popular show. It's a popular show.
Starting point is 02:19:44 They watch it all across the country. This is from Good Morning Britain. Over there in Britain, as it were. Let's go to Good Morning Britain. Good morning to you people over there. Here is Will Osprey with Jack Whitehall, who apparently is a comedian and an actor, and he's done various things and been involved with AIDS. in the past, and I don't know who he is.
Starting point is 02:20:07 So I'm a little out of touch when it comes to Jack Whitehall. Let's go to this. Now, Jack Whitehall has been entertaining the nation for over a decade now. He still only looks about 22. I don't know how he does it. Both look at his little baby face, on stage and on our TV streets. But outside of the comedy circuit, Jack knows his way around another kind of arena. Let's take a look at the moment where Jack impressed American fans with his skills in the rink.
Starting point is 02:20:32 And now they're going to play some clip, some clip. They're going to play a clip of him apparently doing a wrestling thing in something, but we're not going to play that clip here on the air. Thank you. We will go back to the studio and the hosts of Good Morning, Britain, also known as Good Morton. If you hadn't realized, Jack's been harboring a love of wrestling since he was a child, and he joins us now alongside wrestler Will Osprey to give him some tips. Welcome both Jack and Will.
Starting point is 02:21:01 Great to see you both. Jack, that clip there. Thank you so much for using that clip. Yeah, you look great. You look great. It's like one of the best wrestlers in the world. I mean, that slap, I mean, how do you, was that, would you, why do you mark that?
Starting point is 02:21:14 Well, you just, if I was allowed to do it, I'll just put it right from his face. That's the same thing I'll do. Note, if you're allowed to do it. Your dad didn't. Let me just say, I hate this show. I was about to say, I don't even know what's happening here at this point. Let me, uh, fast forward a little bit. It's six minutes of audio, but it sure feels like an hour.
Starting point is 02:21:33 Let me see, I think maybe Will Osprey is talking here. Let's go to this. Trump loves it, doesn't he? I mean, so many people of all different walks of life all around the world, absolutely love wrestling. Yeah, I mean, getting to be a part of all elite wrestling, it's like a seven-year company, it's a brand new wrestling league to the world. To be able to represent my country throughout all of this
Starting point is 02:21:53 is just one of the things that I've felt so honored and so proud to be a part of. And this is like the third time that we'll be heading to Wembley Stadium, which to me is still mind-blind to see. say, and this would be the first time that I get to be in a main event, stakes couldn't be higher because it could be the first time an Englishman or a Britishman would win a world championship in our sport and home soil. Go on, Will, absolutely. And tell us about, because you said about your dad was not keen on you watching it.
Starting point is 02:22:22 It didn't do anything to dampen your spirits. You carried on loving wrestling. But for you, of course, I mean, as a kid. She moved back to Jack Whitehall. She moved back to the star. Just Will Ospre gave that answer, which is a pretty good. answer for someone who says the wrong thing very often I think that was pretty good not bad she just went right back to Jack Whitehall let's go to this wrestling in a way
Starting point is 02:22:42 was a savior to you wasn't it and I've heard your mom talking really powerfully about that and about you know school work versus what you could were really good at in the end yeah I was not academic at all I mean you could probably tell I'm a bit thick hey no no no no no not at all you got a bit silly to want to be hit on the head I can't say I have a job. Can I just say my son loves it? Really? He's very academic, but he loves, he wants, can I spark?
Starting point is 02:23:08 He wants me to smile at it all the time. I'm like, no, I'm your mum. Look after your mum. You've got to tell you, Harry, Mom. My mum was so supported throughout all of this. You never, she would have never imagined in a wildest dreams that I'd ever be performing in Wembley Stadium or assigned to one of the biggest companies in the world.
Starting point is 02:23:23 But this has been such a joy just to be able to show the world that this is my passion, this is my addiction. Sell a ticket now. You just said, though. Got a chance. Yeah, so far, again, we're a few minutes into this, and Jack Whitehall had a good portion of it, and we've skipped ahead a little. As a promotional vehicle, how's it going? And secondly, if the hosts aren't gearing it towards that, what can you do?
Starting point is 02:23:46 What should you do? Well, he just created his own opening when he talked about being thrilled to be wrestling in Wembley Stadium. And he can say, where I'm facing Kenny Omega, who people say is the greatest wrestler of the last decade. and the AEW World Title is on the start a fucking string. Give them the match, give them the stakes, give them the goddamn, it's going to be 50,000 people are going to be there. Give them the crowd, start building it until they fucking cut you off and then make them work for it for the cutoff.
Starting point is 02:24:18 Let's go back to this. I mean, to be committed to what you do, the commitment it takes, the hard work it takes, to build a career out of it, that's smart. That's intelligent. That's really good. I mean, it's incredible. It really is. You'd love to do what he's doing, will you?
Starting point is 02:24:33 Oh, my God, absolutely. Every time I do a stand-up show as well, I always try and bring in a little bit of that, like get the big entrance and the pirate techniques. Try and feel like a rest there. How does that go down? Well, it works for like a minute when you walk out and you feel like you're at Wembley.
Starting point is 02:24:46 And then he goes on, just such a joke. And do you do all the physical sort of prep that Will might go through? Do you go to the gym a lot? Do you like a... Do I? And apparently, I'm meant to say, all right, bro, because I really.
Starting point is 02:24:59 She's asking the comedian if he does the same preference. If he goes to the gym, and every voice sounds alike, even the women. I can't differentiate any of the voices. The accents are killing me. All right, let's fast forward a little more ahead. He's sustained, like, you watch it, like, the physicality of it is insane. And like, watching it up close as well, you really see, like, what they're putting their bodies. Now, what happened to your ribs and Dwayne Johnson?
Starting point is 02:25:25 What's this story? Are they the same story? Yeah. Well, that was, we're not meant to talk about him because obviously he works for the other side. For WWA. Let me stop it right there. That was a little awkward, wasn't it? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 02:25:42 Again, you don't have to, you cannot talk about the guy without first coming out and saying you're not allowed to talk to anybody. Let's go back to this. Jack Whitehall and Will Osprey on good morning. Morning Britain. About him, because obviously he works for the other side. For WWE. Oh, no, no, we can't. That's like me mentioning Charlie State's name in here.
Starting point is 02:26:07 Sorry. Aunginjetti. What? Who? No. Who? No, who? Never ever heard of it.
Starting point is 02:26:11 Hey, look. Dwayne Rock Johnson's never main event at Wembley Stadium. Wow. Yeah, exactly. Wow. Oh, Christ. He travels with his. Let me stop it there for a moment,
Starting point is 02:26:21 because that's the specific line that some people have jumped on, and I think it was a rather benign line. And Osprey had to say something at some point. and this thing is going off the rails. What do you think? Well, here's the problem is that it's a simple matter of the Rock never main event at Wembley Stadium because they never ran Wembley Stadium.
Starting point is 02:26:46 To if he had just said something like the Rock may have been the past, but I'm trying to be the future. Not because everybody watching that has probably heard of the rock. Most people watching that program, it's a mainstream program there in that country, have probably never heard of Osprey, even though he's from there.
Starting point is 02:27:10 Because the Rock's a movie star in Osprey's in indie wrestling. So when you got this, this guy who's just admitted he's not that smart and he's in people's minds trying to put himself over the rock, like, well, the Rock never made of in at Wembley Stadium or wrestled in Wimbled in Wembley. Stadium, people are going, but yeah, but he's the goddamn biggest star in a history of the fucking world.
Starting point is 02:27:34 And who are you? But if he was to say something like, the rock was great in his day, but now he's gone Hollywood and I'm the man in the race. Don't detract from the guy everybody knows to put yourself over, but differentiate yourself. Does that make any sense? It does. Again, this is all happening on the fly. It's not like this is a prepared moment.
Starting point is 02:27:57 Well, he's never prepared. That's why I don't I don't know why they didn't send somebody with him to fucking help bail him out of these things. His own gym and he invited me into the Iron Paradise and he was there with like chains around his neck, crunching iron and I went in the corner on a little, what's that one?
Starting point is 02:28:18 You know, like the Morris dancing one. Like a cross trainer. Cross trainer. Cross trainer, that's it. You know, with the sticks. You can tell, I don't spend it. a lot of time in the gym. Anyway, I injured my back and then was incapacitated
Starting point is 02:28:31 for a couple of days, which was quite emasculating. I also had to take my shirt off next to him. All right, let's, I think we're maybe, let's see if they plug the big event at Wembley here at the end. Now, is there, what was the reason that was given for them having the comedian on with the wrestler when
Starting point is 02:28:47 I don't know, but on the screen right now. It has nothing to do with the fucking Wembley Stadium show? On the screen right now, it says Jack Whitehall worked with wrestling idol the rock. Let's go back to the closing moments and hear if they put this over. I absolutely love it. Will,
Starting point is 02:29:06 you're going to absolutely smash it this weekend. Come on, we're all relying on you. You're going to be the first for it to win it in a massive championship for us. Yes, it will be. Hopefully, so many people will be able to come. Go and get it, man. I'll do my best, sir. Thank you very much. Come back on. Let's know, when you've won it. Oh, please. I'd love to come back on. Thank you so much. All right. The dream come true has ended.
Starting point is 02:29:28 No Osprey on the show. I don't know. When I was on Regis and Kathy Lee with Yocuzuna, even with the tug of war, with the crew members and all the other bits they had, I think I said the word SummerSlam about 26 times. Yeah, and he looked a bit awkward sitting there while they were really having a great time talking to the comedian.
Starting point is 02:29:51 The whole thing. But, you know, they're going to have a nice house there. and he'll have his moment. But yeah, maybe he needs some media training. Well, it's hard for guys who have, and think about it, Osprey hadn't done television until Tony signed him. But now it's hard for a lot of guys to do mainstream shows.
Starting point is 02:30:15 And to be honest, it is more difficult because you don't want to be so wrestling that you come off. It's the wrong environment. and it's the wrong room. You don't want to be so wrestling. You come off as crazy. But at the same time, you want to have the energy
Starting point is 02:30:31 and you want to have the hype and you want to sell tickets. So you've got to be a personality, but not, you know, even like heels especially, you can't be a fucking heel and talk about their mother and make, you know, all these horrible comments. You have to kind of be the wise ass
Starting point is 02:30:53 kind of heal. And mainstream TV is just, it's a little bit harder for the boys because they're not as used to it. But this was kind of a little boring, little boring, little blah. And here wrapping things up, what are your thoughts about
Starting point is 02:31:09 again, the comment about the Rock, anyone who thinks that it's a problem that Will Osprey said that because he's an AEW wrestler or he's not the Rock or he's not a star to their liking. Did he do anything wrong there? Well, it's not It just wasn't the greatest way he could have handled it,
Starting point is 02:31:26 but it wasn't like he, you know, tanked the whole show and made the company look like goddamn, they're all idiots. He just, to a bunch of people who didn't know who he was, he comes off like some, who is this guy talking about the rock? So that's not, that's far below the top 10 stupid things that Will Osprey has ever said. But they also, whoever set up the appearance, and I assume they had that media representative with Osprey.
Starting point is 02:31:58 When he went there, they should have prepped by saying, look, we don't talk about the WWE. That's competition. So here's the parameters or whatever. Before, when they've set the appearance up and have somebody there to go over it with the show producers. It's not up to Osprey as the talent that's been booked there, to prep the producers on what he's supposed to do or not supposed to do.
Starting point is 02:32:26 So they should add somebody with him from their, I say from their media department like they have one, that knows how to fucking set these deals up. So that wasn't really Osprey's fault. Well, I guess shortly we will talk about AEW Dynamite and talk about things that may be his fault. We will entirely do that. That's exactly what we'll do.
Starting point is 02:32:51 All right, Brian, well, before we get to the part of the program where we talk about the wobbly road to Wimbly, what's going on in the world of the Arcadian Vanguard network this week? Starting point is 02:33:42 Stick to wrestling with John McAdam looks at what was happening 40 years ago today in 1986. Does he need to shut up to McAdam? No, he's doing just find macadampod.com or stick to wrestling with John McAdam, wherever you find your favorite podcast. And of course, the 605 super podcast. The Mothership! I was trying to clear it out, but that didn't really help.
Starting point is 02:34:08 Go through the archive, 605pod.com. And thank you to everyone who has. And, of course, every episode available for free, 605pod.com. Yes, and you know, when you force the air, across your vocal cords like that, you're just warping them and then they won't match flat and then you'll just be all hoarse and that's what you're doing
Starting point is 02:34:29 to yourself. I apologize. Well, speaking of people that are doing things to themselves, Tony Kahn has done this to himself. He had another weird television program leading up to the big Wembley
Starting point is 02:34:45 stadium event, which we're going to cover, by the way, programming note on the upcoming drive-through in a few since it hasn't happened yet. But that'll be the next program that we do, because we'll be doing that right after this happens. But this was the go home dynamite. And I mean, do you think Tony has taken his ball
Starting point is 02:35:07 and gone home on the overrun? He got so much heat for overrunning the overrun that this week for the first time in memory and before the biggest show of the year, they ended on time. You think some of this is maybe has sunk in or what's going on here? It's weird that he would end it this week on time and end it with a match that has nothing to do
Starting point is 02:35:26 with anything that's happening, nor did anyone really especially care about. You know, like all these things they've been jamming into the show. Last week, the overrun of the overrun was the Omega Osprey stuff. This week was Swarb versus Jungle Boy. Neither one of these guys has figured into anything
Starting point is 02:35:42 that matters. And they had a match where they both tried to just fucking paralyze each other and rip each other spleen out and then had a nice fist bump at the end. But we'll get there. We'll get there.
Starting point is 02:35:57 Because in the meantime, they were in Glasgow. Scotland, not Kentucky. They looked like they had a decent crowd. They were in one of those oh, God damn, one of the arenas over there named after water. Was it the hydro or the H2O?
Starting point is 02:36:16 There's the R2. But I think that's somewhere else, isn't it? Well, but they got them all over the place over there. They're a very water-conscious country, a kingdom over there, the empire. United Kingdom, British Empire, wherever the fuck that this lies
Starting point is 02:36:34 in the geographical scheme of things, they're always naming these big arenas after something to do with water. Maybe it's because they're all wet. Do you know how many people were there? Are we getting this information anymore, Is anybody stooging? Anybody squealing?
Starting point is 02:36:52 I can look it up. Let me see what I can find out. Well, while you do that, I will mention that Will Osprey came out first for an in-ring promo. And I was thinking, oh, God, is he going to tank it at the last minute? How many people is he going to talk out of wanting to see this show? And I swear to God, maybe it's the cultural difference in the accent or whatever.
Starting point is 02:37:17 I did not understand one word of the entire first sentence that he said in this interview when he yelled at the crowd and they responded by singing, O'le, O'le, O'le, O'le, O'le, O'le, O'A, O'Lay, O'A, O'Lay. So he must have said something to fire him up, but I didn't understand what to fight. Did you catch that? No, I'm sorry, I was looking up the information. No, I did not catch that. well it it it got him to sing and then he did they told the long story about he's back home
Starting point is 02:37:54 and last time he was there was a year ago and he was doubting himself could he come back etc and he started as a British wrestler he's like I made the flipping towns brough that's actually what he said I went from Scotland to Ireland to England to fucking bankruptcy, whatever. And he said, I wrestled every Friday through Sunday. Like that was a grueling wrestling schedule. But that's what it's come to in the modern era. But he wrestled Friday through Sunday.
Starting point is 02:38:30 And then, bro, I looked at my wage packet. How many people you think in Alabama, Missouri, and Kansas said, what the fuck is he talking about? but I've never even heard of wrestler call a payoff a wage packet. And he worked a construction job as a real job so he could afford to be a wrestler, all to help British wrestling. And he plugged a bunch of British indie wrestlers that the names escape me. But to put, is everybody now in the modern era a rags to riches story?
Starting point is 02:39:17 didn't you used to build the guys in the main event for the world title up is like they were athletic prodigies that excelled in collegiate sports and entered the pro ranks with all kinds of credential instead of yeah fucking slept in a car and fucking got paid in hot dogs to be a pro wrestler does that translate to any other professional sport brian today to the extent that you hear it in wrestling, basketball, football, baseball. I know somebody in every sport is born with an impoverished background, but is this a goddamn become a trope, as the kids say? Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 02:40:03 And also specific to Osprey, he always seems to say things that, after a while, you're like, why is he saying these things? Why is this helping? How is this helping? You know, he talked about his grandfather. He talked about his marriage. neither thing got a pop but this was his
Starting point is 02:40:20 this was his crowd they were certainly Osprey fans they were that that helped quite a bit he ruined his credibility with everybody but he said that Kenny may be the best in the world and Kenny got booed by some people
Starting point is 02:40:35 because obviously besides fact that he's acting like a prick for no apparent reason for the last couple weeks that's what happens when you split your fans by making them pick between your top baby faces and one of them's at his home country. But he respected Kenny more than anybody but not after Kenny mentioned his son. Apparently Kenny said, because I didn't hear it the first time around, but he'll need a new hero.
Starting point is 02:41:07 After I beat you, well, those are fighting words. He didn't say like the kid's goddamn a fucking idiot, a vegetable. he'll fucking be a sewage treatment plant employee or whatever the fuck he'll need a new hero are those fighting words to make you turn against your idol not really i mean you don't want your kid mentioned at all but osprey's making it out like kenny said the worst thing possible and he didn't and osprey said you don't fuck with a man that's looking after a boy that sounded like somebody needed to go on a fucking registry in the equation.
Starting point is 02:41:48 What is the way that they word things? It's he tried to sell the match. There's not a big issue. It's two baby faces, one of them who's decided to play heel two weeks out, having a goddamn high spot match. So it's got limited appeal and they gave them no fucking, material to have any more oomph than that to it.
Starting point is 02:42:14 And he's going to bring it home for his family and he growled so we knew that he meant it, but he went too long. He's got no issue to talk about. He entertains himself more than he entertains other people and he's writing his own stuff with no producer or editor. And I don't mean that everything should be cut out. but somebody to edit this material, mentor him and being able to deliver lines
Starting point is 02:42:46 or at least not lose the folks here in this country with the slang would be able to tell him just how to deliver it better, how to make people interested in his grandfather. Or maybe they'd laugh at a little joke he made about his wife if he didn't basically come out and declare that he'd covered her in sploo, and then cast her aside. Ha-ha.
Starting point is 02:43:12 That was after the fans didn't pop for him announcing he was married. Okay. And then he was like, how do I get them to pop? I know. Yeah, I'll go ahead and go straight to the part where I just fucking come all over. And then they didn't pop for that either.
Starting point is 02:43:27 The whole thing was so awkward. He was the only one popping. But that's the point is somebody else would shorten him up, straighten him out, point him in a right direction. And let him tell his story. but in a more concise way, but we got none of that because they'll just go out and wing it because they're all Fespians and write their own soliloquies.
Starting point is 02:43:49 So that's what we had there. Final thoughts before we move along, because Kenny was not on this show to be found except in a video at the end of the program where they did a history package. So we had a one-sided last-minute cell here this week. You know, Dave Meltzer last week said that if you want the ratings to stay low, you have to do more outside the ring stuff. That's the stuff that loses ratings. Why is Osprey continually given as much time as he wants on the mic? It never goes well.
Starting point is 02:44:29 And even with minimal production, there's got to be a way to, it could only be more effective for him to go shorter and say less and have more um. If you're eating the tainted recalled food, it can only go better for you if you eat less of it instead of more of it. Is that the principle you're trying to get across? There's some sort of principle there. I don't know if that's exactly what I'm trying to say, but it may be in the same realm. Speaking of things that are tainted that might make you ill, John Moxley was next. and he wrestled in this Faca tournament, Claudio casting Noli.
Starting point is 02:45:11 Now, what of his heel group, but they loved to have the friendly competition amongst them. And they went for quite a while, and I'm not going to bother to pick this part. But Moxley hit his double-armed DDT and got a one count and then hit the bigger double-armed DDT and got a two-count. And then he turned around and got the choke, and they laid their motionless on the mat
Starting point is 02:45:36 in the business's most boring finish for however long again and the referee called for the bell. So he hits the big guy with two okay finishing moves. Ain't the greatest thing that has ever been seen, but it would have worked. No, but then he just stakes the joint out,
Starting point is 02:45:59 same as always. And he chokes the guy out and they'll be friends again tomorrow. We're 30 minutes into the program. They exchanged blows in the match. You know, when they just stand there and throw four arms, they look so bad. Moxley keeps doing this in every match,
Starting point is 02:46:17 and he can't do it, or he won't do it. They look bad, they look weak, they look fake. But every match. That's his trademark. I guess so. He really insists on doing it. So, yeah. I'll show him.
Starting point is 02:46:33 I'll do it. again. They had a six-man tag team match that again, I didn't watch the match because why would you, but they degenerated into some chaos there. It was Brian Cage, what's his name, Popeye Doyle? Jake Doyle.
Starting point is 02:46:52 And Johnny Doyle, Jake Doyle. And Rocky Romero, who wishes he was Popeye the Sailor Man. and they wrestled Edge and the Buccaroos. Yes, one-a-half of the baby-face tag team that's wrestling the other baby-face tag team teamed with each other on this show at a meaningless six-man tag for no apparent purpose. And Edge, when he made his entrance,
Starting point is 02:47:22 he got a big pop, he's over and especially across the pond, a lot of WWF or WWE fans. and then the buckaroos came out and even over there now, over there, it's when they get on the corners and beg for it, they'll give them a little, but they're just walking out, right? But nevertheless, they had a match
Starting point is 02:47:50 and Edge 1, he speared Rocky, 1, 2, 3, and then the heels leave, their time is done. And then Christian Cage's music plays. And Christian comes out in street clothes. He still got the wrist support on. And he cuts the promo. He's a heel, and that's part of the point of the team, is that Edge and Christian are friends,
Starting point is 02:48:15 even though Christian is a dick. And he tells the buckaroos to sit down and shut up, and he doesn't associate with people that are beneath him. And he kind of still had to put a line in where he put them over, but they're not as good as me and Edge. and the fans were just singing during his promo because before I get to who answered him Christian
Starting point is 02:48:41 has always had verbal eloquence but now with the stone face and that he seems like he's just doing the same thing he's being contrary as my cousin Richard used to say just to be contrary he's just obviously saying the provocative shit to make people, oh, do you see what I'm saying to you there, Brian? Yeah, I've said that and thought that for a long time.
Starting point is 02:49:10 It's a complete joke. He's not a serious heel. He's a comedy figure. And even when you think he's past it, even when a promo seems like it's almost over, all of a sudden it'll be like, I'm having sex with your mother. I know you're not.
Starting point is 02:49:25 Maybe he ought to work for a Velveteen Dreams boxing promotion. I don't know, maybe, yeah. But I mean, now he's not even doing it with a twinkle or with energy. He's just doing the same stuff. But nevertheless, the fans sang during his promo and then pie face of the Buccaroos gets on the microphone to answer him. And he's growling too. And he threatened to super kick Christian.
Starting point is 02:49:55 And I'm thinking if Nash should have been there, he'd have been like, and so Christian kicked old pie face into balls. Well, that made Nikki take up for his brother and super kick up for his brother and super kick Christian. And then, of course, Edge had to fucking go ahead and spear Nicky. And then Edge growled. So we see that he had lost control of himself. And then he stood up and put on contrite face. So now we see, oh, I wish I hadn't come to this where I,
Starting point is 02:50:28 I had to lose control of myself type of thing. Holy crap. You got a tag team with a combined age of 104, wrestling these overrated Keebler elves to determine who's going to be the best tag team in their own fucking minds. And we got to go through this drama at the same time. And yes, I think they're going to make the goddamn toll house cookies
Starting point is 02:50:55 before they come to Wembley. Your thoughts. Brian. I'm not a big fan of Cope. Not a fan of the Bucks. Not a fan of the Callis family, not a fan of the Christian Cage comedy promos. But what about Kepler cookies? I haven't had them in a while. And I feel like that's one of those things you move
Starting point is 02:51:15 past in life and I should probably reevaluate them. Are they still good? No, well, was it only good when I was a kid? When you spend a lot of your time fucking in hotels with vending machines, you learn to keep a loose relationship. All right, we're learning something new here. You can find that more about this Christmas time.
Starting point is 02:51:33 Jim Cornett, what I ate from vending machines coming to Cornett's collectibles. Yes, and then I'm going to join the Velveteen dreams promotion and talk about fucking some elves. I didn't know
Starting point is 02:51:46 this is going to be as popular a subject as it's become here on the show. Jim, we're Matt taking the tag team and putting Edge who's about to wrestle them in the match and you set up there has to be an angle. The Calus family
Starting point is 02:52:00 last week they had two different matches with two different six man tag teams or our six man tag matches. Both of their teams lost. Here it is again, they lose here. They just don't win matches. It's just a group of job guys and fucking Kyle Fletcher
Starting point is 02:52:16 and Okada. Not really looking forward to this match. I guess to some people it is a big deal. people who think the Bucks are one of the greatest ever, people who think Edging Christian are one of the greatest ever. To them, I guess it's still a big deal. FTR should be involved somehow. They're over there.
Starting point is 02:52:37 But, yeah, I don't really care about any of this. And you pointed it out, and I always do, the crowd reaction to the Bucks, it's not there, and they literally have to beg people. Come on, come on, come on. To make any noise. And by the way, that's something that Dr. Tom Pritchard and a lot of people in the WWE camps used to try to break the fucking indie guys from doing when you turn to the people, come on! They're like, when you get to Madison Square Garden and you turn and tell the people, come on, they're going to be like, how about fuck you?
Starting point is 02:53:13 We'll come on when we're good and ready. Get them with your, yes, when you're introduced, go to the corner and get your hero shot, your beauty shot, whatever they want to fucking call it. but when you're constantly begging for people during your match, you're showing your desperation. Speaking of desperation, I don't know what, Willow was going to have a match, but suddenly they went to the back and Mercedes Mone had injured her hand
Starting point is 02:53:42 and she's laying there writhing in pain and Mercedes cut a promo over the top of her. It was one of the most fakesest, most amateur hour pieces of bullshit hit that I've ever seen, but it only lasted a minute. So we got that going for us. Then here came Andre, or so we thought, because his music played, but then it got cut off, and then MJF's music played, and he made him mad by teasing
Starting point is 02:54:12 the cool cab driver, but instead out he came here in sunny Ireland, and then he insulted Scotland. And he gets a, who gives a shit? so shit's okay now. They used to bleep shit, but now they let shit on the program in a variety of ways. And he insinuated that Andrade was not there tonight
Starting point is 02:54:34 because he had him beaten up somewhere by somebody. And he cut to promo, and then he picked a girl out of the front row, insulted her, said, well, you're, you'd be a four in the States, but you're like a nine over here, whatever. So I'll take a selfie with you. and then if they're going to do this stuff
Starting point is 02:55:00 A, might be an idea not to telegraph it to the point where a blind man could see it coming halfway down the road and B, time it a little better because he said, he turns around his back to this girl and he says, and I'm just going to ask all you stupid people,
Starting point is 02:55:18 I've got one question. And it's going to be, he's going to say how you know, like Andre does. but when he turned his back on the girl, it was obvious. And then he said, I just got one question. And he had to wait forever in pausing for a line time because Andrew wasn't there yet. And then Andrew takes the girl's place behind him and has a microphone and says, How you know?
Starting point is 02:55:52 And when M.JF turns around like, oh, shit, he bopped him. with the microphone and they had a brief fight. MJF bailed. Andre was in a black suit with a long black coat and that goofy hat that looks like fucking Mr. Munson on
Starting point is 02:56:09 all in the family used to wear it when he drove the cab. Andy Cap. Andy Cap, that's a good one. You know what? For the occasion, they were over there in Great Britannia. That's where I used to think that they did the
Starting point is 02:56:26 Encyclopedia, the Encyclopedia Britannica. That came from Britain, right? That's what I was thought, yeah. Yeah. Well, and they know all the words. Would it have been more effective of MJ, I've got on a mic, and said, I'm looking for the hooker Andrade has here tonight. She always stands out in the crowd. Let me find her.
Starting point is 02:56:49 Yeah, if he's already paid. No, but seriously, pretending like this was just a girl standing there, not a plan. It was obvious right away was a plan. So, I mean, if you're going to do it, it has to be better than this. Yeah. MJF was good here, though. And I saw her standing there. She was just 17, if you know what I mean.
Starting point is 02:57:09 And the way she looked was way beyond compare. They were in Scotland, Jim, not Liverpool. Well, I'll never dance with another. Except the next dance was the next continental tournament match. I've lost track of who's... But Moxley's going to win this fucking thing, obviously, to assuage his bruised and alcohol-besided ego. But the Kala rally against Nigel McGinnis,
Starting point is 02:57:40 15 years ago in Ring of Honor, this would have been fantastic. Nigel had been in, and neither one is bad now, but they were in their prime at that point. They've been booked into oblivion now. And Nigel tapped, Kyle O'Reilly out to go to the finals, and then they hugged. It's a lot of hugging motherfuckers after they hit each other over the goddamn head with things and try to paralyze each other in every conceivable way.
Starting point is 02:58:13 And then they had a girl's six-man tag. I'm sorry, you were going to comment. I was just going to say it kind of sucks if Nigel McGinnis is about to get choked out by Moxley at Wembley, if that's what this was all for. And on the other side, it wouldn't make any sense for Nadia. to win this thing unless he's about to become a full-time wrestler again. And, you know, as much as, to be honest, I would love to see Nigel McGinnis or anybody else, including the goddamn rigging crew for the fucking lights, choke Moxley out.
Starting point is 02:58:43 In a match, you're out in the parking lot, just any time. Just somebody choke the motherfucker out for me. But it would be stupid the way they've presented Moxley and at Nigel's age and that he's a part-time wrestler and been a commentator for and retired for so many years. It just, even Nick Aldous, who all due respect, looks a bit more fit than Nigel does, couldn't beat Gunther. So nevertheless. And then they had the match you were talking about with swerve and old jungle jackoff.
Starting point is 02:59:21 That was the main event. If old jungle boy didn't have that. music, his entrance would be grim death. You could probably hold sales meetings and potentially funerals in the same building with his entrance. If they weren't playing that music where people could wave, oh, oh, oh, swirved dropped him on his head with some kind of fucking move. One, two, three, and then they fist bumped. Didn't swerve a hit? heel? Didn't we establish he's a heel now? He was. Or did he go back?
Starting point is 03:00:05 I don't know. Why does he fist bump the baby face? Didn't John Moxley just do this with Jungle Boy when he beat him a few weeks ago? Are they all secretly paying Jungle Boy to run their records up? They bring him in as a tomato can to beat him and they go, good job, kid. You know, after all these weeks of all these overruns, really the last several weeks going completely overboard with it. It felt abrupt
Starting point is 03:00:34 that the show just ended on time with this, which was a match out of nowhere than... Well, remember there was a two-and-a-half-minute music video set to some unknown song of Kenny and Willie training and wrestling highlights, but yeah, it was basically, oh, we're done, we're out of shit.
Starting point is 03:00:56 See you, Sunday. That was the go-home dynamite. And that's what the people were saying after it was over. Go home. Go home. I guess we should go home so that we can come back and do it again. That's right. That's what we should say.
Starting point is 03:01:17 We'll see you Sunday. We'll see you Sunday. We'll see you when we see you to talk about Sunday. So whatever day that it happens, we're going to talk about it next. Right, Brian, of some kind. How? Right, Brian of some kind. Yes, that's what I want to.
Starting point is 03:01:32 to be known as now. Right, Brian, of some count. Some kind. Some kind. Inventing words now, ladies and gentlemen, I'm really growing here in my stature. I'm having a stroke. Just having a stroke, maybe several all at once. I know I will. When I'm watching Wembley, I'll get wobbly watching Wembley, and then we'll weekly come back and record about it on your show next. But until then, do you have any parting thoughts for the consumers? We hope you enjoyed today's presentation, and we'll be back shortly with the dry-through
Starting point is 03:02:07 and more fun and hilarity and everything else. Don't eat any of the food, folks. Just don't eat any food until you hear from us next. We'll keep you updated. I'll tell you what, I could have held all four of those sum bitches down. Well, nevertheless, thank you. Fuck you. At least one of you, if not all four.
Starting point is 03:02:27 And bye-bye, everybody. experience of Jim
