Starting point is 00:00:00 The midnight and the rock and roll. He's in a fight for wrestling soul using a racket and some mind control. He's Jim Kornet. The keys to the future. ...experience where today we have big announcements, big arguments, big TV shows, big messes of matches and big fat wrestlers. All that and more on today's big show. And joining me for all that and even more.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Hawaiian Brian the podcasting line The King of the Arcadian Vanguard podcast network Mr. Co-host to you He's not just great He's great big The great Brian last everybody Aloha Jim A pleasure to be here once again
Starting point is 00:01:35 Jump over your fucking organ to get here I was jumping over you I wasn't sure exactly what you were saying And I was trying to hear you So I stopped for a moment And then I jumped back Well then there was a clump After you've stopped playing the organ
Starting point is 00:01:46 And we heard clump Like you had to leap over it To return to your son seat. You know, the clump is part of my, it's actually the dance that's been developed for my sound, but everyone's doing the clump. It's a pleasure to be here once again, Jim. I understand we're getting a good show. Christ. Well, then you understand wrong there, son. I'm going to straighten you out. I hope that nobody thinks I'm going to take any of this seriously today. But no, right before we went on the air,
Starting point is 00:02:17 I surprised you with something, and then you tickled me with something, but you did not know. A feather. Oh, go ahead. No, yeah, yeah, that's what you. It's an old Norman Frederick Charles thing. He would say under his breath when the waitress was leaving the table,
Starting point is 00:02:36 well, I can't say that word that they say often the United Kingdom, but it's spelled C-U-N-T. he would say, tickle your C-U-N-T with a feather, and she'd turn, what? Typical country weather we're having. But nevertheless, you did not know, Brian Last. I've just informed, you were today years old, as the kids say, when I informed you that the inspiration for the angle
Starting point is 00:03:02 and Smoky Mountain Wrestling were Tammy Fitch and a dirty, and primetime Brian Lee, took control of Ron Wright, who was the Dirty White Boy's manager, and this is what caused both of them, Dirty White Boy and Ron Wright, to become baby faces. The inspiration for that angle was the Aaron Fleming and Groucho Marx relationship, where Groucho was in his 80s and this young, crazy, literally mentally ill fucking wannabe starlet,
Starting point is 00:03:38 like 50 years younger, was who often took her clothes off at public functions. He came into his life and was causing all kinds of controversy and problems and the son was concerned and all that type of thing. And he was being overmedicated. And that's what Tammy was over-medicating Ron Wright. And he'd come out in his wheelchair. And he said, I remember when me and Donnie were the Tennessee tag team champion.
Starting point is 00:04:10 and dirty white boy was flummoxed and couldn't do anything about it because she had tickled him up under his chin, poor old brother Ron, and swayed his heart and boy howdy when that finally blew up. And then Ron was a baby face. Well, we brought him back. And we advertised he was going to walk to the ring because he'd been in a wheelchair for two years, right? And they came to see Ron Wright walk to the ring.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I know he was at the night of legends, but you didn't think about bringing in Don Wright to do something or maybe Zepo right to do something? No. No, Don actually did a couple of things for us up in Johnson City when Ron wasn't available. I think he was involved in a flag match with Horner against the fucking white boy or something like that
Starting point is 00:05:04 and Don came out and was in the corner or whatever the case. Don was around a couple of times, but we had put the focus, because even bless him, Don was part of the Wright brothers, and that was big until the Ron Fuller Southeastern days, but Don really didn't work much after that. So it had been a long, long time, and everybody still remembered the Wright brothers, but it wasn't like I needed to have two elderly legends when, Ron was the promo of the piece. Could have invented a younger brother.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Rough House, right? You know, I actually just got a really cool book called Marks Advertising. It's gigantic. It's like reprints of all the original newspaper advertising and posters for all the Marks Brothers stuff. It's really, really cool. Oh, I thought you meant Marx, like these are Marks and they're advertising.
Starting point is 00:06:05 No, no, I don't know. Like they were, please come take my money. money. I've got to tell you, that's what Mark would have a lot of money. I'd like somebody to swindled me out of. That would be a Mark advertiser. Speaking of people who have been swindled, I bet I've got a show for you, Brian, and all the people out there. And it says nothing to do with wrestling, completely, absolutely nothing to do with wrestling. But I found it, accidentally found out that it existed when I was going to the Netflix for Raw the other day. And I said, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:06:44 And I, do you know the story? Well, I don't know how to, I don't want to spoil anything for anybody because I'm encouraging everybody. Have you seen the Netflix series, well, limited series, don't pick up the phone? I have not, no. Okay. And it sounds like a 70s slasher movie. but the series is on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:07:10 It's a documentary series. There's three parts to it. I think there are 45 minutes or whatever. And it's called Don't Pick Up the Phone. And there was a incident here in the Louisville area 20 years ago that I remember seeing on the news at the time. Down in Mount Washington, that's not really a suburb of Louisville. It's a small town overcross into Bullock County line, right? a small town near Louisville, maybe 5,000, 10,000 people.
Starting point is 00:07:41 I can't imagine maybe that many. And at the McDonald's one day, this is like a little over 20 years ago, they get a phone call. The manager is called to the phone, and it's the cops on the phone, and they're telling the manager, well, we've had a complaint that one of your employees stole some money or a wallet or whatever it was from one of the customers in there. And do you have a petite, dark-haired girl or whatever? Oh, yes, it's Gladys, whatever day.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yes, she's working here now. Well, this is serious. We can handle this one or two ways. We can come down there and arrest her. It sounds like a fucking wrestling a promo. We can come down there and, you know, we can come down there and arrest her. her in full view of the customers and everything and blah, blah, blah, or you can call her back there and you can interrogate her and search her or whatever,
Starting point is 00:08:45 see if she's got to, oh, yeah, I'll just, I'll bring her back here, right? That type of thing. So they bring it, and this girl's like 17 years old, she's a minor. I'm pretty sure this one was. I'll tell more on this in a moment. but she's just a teenage fucking McDonald's employee, right? And this manager, she is like a 50-year-old woman that lives there in Mount Washington. And I can't imagine that these people don't know each other all well.
Starting point is 00:09:15 It's a small town. So anyway, they got the fucking guy that's identified himself, Mount Washington or Bullitt County Sheriff's Department, whatever. And they start telling the manager, well, you're going to go. go ahead and search her. Well, she goes through her purse and their jacket. And it starts having her take her clothes off and ends up strip searching her completely naked. And this is taking time. They're on this phone for a while, right?
Starting point is 00:09:49 And then the guy on the phone of the cop has her doing a variety of, okay, well, now make her do jumping jack. See everything. out. What? And she's doing, and everybody's cooperating. So then the manager is like, it's getting to be rush time. What the fuck? I, you know, I got to run this restaurant. And we, oh, do you know someone that you can trust to come and keep an eye on this woman because we're short staffed or whatever this, apparently they said this was so, this guy was so matter of fact and so official and so plausible in however he delivered this,
Starting point is 00:10:29 that they're hooked. They're on the line here. The manager calls her boyfriend, who's some 50-year-old redneck guy from fucking Hardensburg or something, right? To come in, and here's this teenage girl naked covered up with a McDonald's apron. And the manager goes off to manage the McDonald's,
Starting point is 00:10:53 and the guy is on the phone with cop and by the time the cop gets finished with this guy the guy spanked this girl while naked and then had her give him a blowjob in the name of the law Jesus and I'm sure that he had to smell the strong whiff of bullshit
Starting point is 00:11:15 but he was figuring my fucking girlfriend just put me in here and say you know what's going on here but god damn it and this poor girl is following because now she's got they had her clothes at her purse took it out and locked it in her car so that she's naked
Starting point is 00:11:33 except for a McDonald's apron and there's a store full of fucking people she'd have to run out of and through to get to so she's trapped and this so finally the way
Starting point is 00:11:49 this comes to an end is that one of the goddamn how'd they describe him maintenance guys, janitor, floor mopper, whatever, comes in and says, what's going on here? He gets on the phone and hears about 10 seconds. Fuck you. And hangs up, right? And then there's a goddamn swarm of police cars and every, they show footage from the local
Starting point is 00:12:16 news because there's a swarm of investigators. and the local Mount Washington cop that, I mean, he couldn't have come out of Central casting any better as a small town southern cop that's determined that he ain't going to let that shit fucking fly. And that shit ain't going to fly in my town, son. And they do this documentary about what happened here, and I can't tell you anymore.
Starting point is 00:12:49 except you're going to be surprised who goes to jail and who doesn't, but I will tell you one more thing that makes it even more worthwhile. This is why you have to watch the goddamn series. Brian, would you say that's one of the more ridiculous, unique things that would ever occur in a fucking public place, that this thing could be pulled off like that, that somebody could call somebody and make them do various shit like that, on over the phone for hours before anybody says,
Starting point is 00:13:23 wait a minute. It seems. I think that would be odd, right? Yeah, I don't know if ridiculous or odd or the right word, but I don't know what is the right word. Yes, to all of that, yes. Well, guess when they started investigating it, how many times that it fucking happened
Starting point is 00:13:38 in how many places around the fucking country, coast to coast, over a hundred incidents in 30-something states of this guy completely anonymously being able to fucking call these there's multi-million dollar lawsuits against McDonald's there are people that have gone to jail like I said I'm not going to reveal who did who didn't uh but this it was they even do they have a psychologist on that talks about how, you know, whether young people or just people who are intimidated by who
Starting point is 00:14:21 they believe are authority and how they are able to be led into this fucking business. And it's, it's in, but a hundred times or more in 30-something states, they had various strip searches and spankings and odd goings on at fast food places. not just McDonald's, Taco Bell, and various other places, but multiple people, dozens of people, fell for this. What's going to happen when that guy hits up the fake Rio Ripley? Some money's going to change hands by God, or else why some clothes are coming off, one way or the other.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Worlds will collide. Yeah, that's crazy. What was the name of the series? Don't pick up the phone on Netflix. I'm going to check that out. I'm writing it down. This guy from Mount Washington, this copy is, he's entertaining without trying to be. It's just he's one of these people that are, they look exactly like you would think they look
Starting point is 00:15:29 and sound exactly like you think they'd sound and they're goddamn determined. Anyway, real quickly here, hold on, I've got an email. Clayton, one of our listeners from Sonoma, I thought he said one of our, our listeners from Soma. You know, we are a better program for our listeners from Soma. But Clayton is from Sonoma, and he wrote in his wife passed away on September 12th from a surgery gone wrong is his quote.
Starting point is 00:16:04 And I've mentioned before that concerns me anytime anybody would suggest that I might need something of that nature. but he's been catching up on the shows to help his take his mind off things she would go to WWF house shows with her dad in the 80s in southern California even though she wasn't really a wrestling fan these days but she enjoyed my cornyisms and rants against schittler and general cornyness so anyway Clayton we're sorry for your loss and and hopefully we can, well, I guess we're not taking your mind off of it now because we're talking about it,
Starting point is 00:16:48 but we wanted to recognize you and the cult sends their love too by proxy on our, on behalf of us. Very sorry for your loss, Clayton. But speaking of losing, guess what I've lost? Track of fucking time, Brian, I didn't realize, well, I wasn't told. Let me put it this way. It's not my fault. I wasn't even there. I have a big announcement to make right now that by the time that the people hear me make this announcement will have already taken place, but it's not my fault because I was only given a window and no specific information.
Starting point is 00:17:31 But I've got a new series out there in the Internet land, for those of you so inclined, the folks advice and the folks from Dark Side of the Ring. we had Evan Husty on not long ago. We were talking about this past season of Darkside. And they got together because the people wanted some more of me, apparently. They either couldn't get enough of me or they want a bunch of me to rip me to limb from limb. I'm not sure which. But at any rate, we filmed that I have kept this under wraps because I was waiting for
Starting point is 00:18:10 the official announcement, which I'm now making. I got a new series on the Vice Sports YouTube channel, a limited season of eight episodes called Cornette Side of the Ring, where I evoke, emote on various topics, and they had called me and pitched the idea just, you know, to talk about some controversial points of time in wrestling. And we shot this, and it was in a series of, editing process and the last that I had heard from everybody, I said, tell me whenever we're going
Starting point is 00:18:49 to debut, we've got a date at a time and et cetera, so that I can make the big announcement. And then Evan Hustey went on vacation with his new wife or his lovely bride, as Jim Ross would say. And Vice must have loved the show or me or both because they must have said put this out fast because they forgot to tell the star of the date. And Evan's been out of the country for two, weeks. So we just got the word, both of us, that that will be, or did, depending on the way you want to look at it, premiering on Sunday, September 27th at noon Eastern time on the Vice Sports YouTube channel. And we're leading with a look into necrophilia, courtesy of the Katie Vic storyline that the WWF for E.
Starting point is 00:19:43 at that point was so proud to present. But every week will be a different one. Sundays, besides Katie Vic, Vince Rousseau, winning the WCW World Title. That's a controversial moment in wrestling all of its own. Hulk Hogan on late night TV, Jim Hurd's greatest ideas, including the Black Scorpion, Steve Austin, Turn and Heel, C.M. Punk's pipe bomb,
Starting point is 00:20:11 the WCW invasion, the Battle of the Billionaires, Trump and McMahon, much of me and each of these, to paraphrase Paul Bosch, Sundays at noon Eastern time, so at least now you know in advance for next week, ladies and gentlemen. When do they forget to tell the star when the movie is coming out? Brian, what I was a little... When you deal with amateurs? Well, God dang it. somebody needs to be, Evan can never leave the country again. We're putting a hold on his passport.
Starting point is 00:20:51 When you deal with amateurs in an amateur company, but, uh, oh, come on now. That's exactly what happens. But you know what? You know who you can deal with, Brian, that you can always depend on? And that's the fine folks,
Starting point is 00:21:06 because there's only a few of us at Cornett's collectibles. And the big holiday sale that I have been announcing for the past few weeks, much in advance, way far in advance, is now going to happen this Saturday as the crow flies, Saturday, October 3rd at noon eastern, the photo portfolios, the sale prices on merchandise, the one-of-a-kind Bobby Eaton autographs, the something I haven't talked about,
Starting point is 00:21:35 I'm letting two of the items from the vault go, but for space reasons, basically, but a, you know, the, when they, in the 90s, having the souvenir chairs from the WWF paper views where you got to take the chair home. And I never really understood what the fuck the family of four was thinking when they would come to Madison Square Garden
Starting point is 00:22:01 and have to lug four of these heavy fucking, they're beautiful chairs. But how do they get a, how does the nine-year-old have to drag his behind him like a street urchin, dragging a cart? How would they get the, did you ever go to, of those shows where they had to get the chairs out of there? I went to some of those shows, but I never got a chair.
Starting point is 00:22:19 It was never really my thing. Well, I mean, did you see people lugging or carrying or putting chairs in slings? I mean, I was there when they first introduced it. I think WrestleMania 10 may have been one of the first times they did it. Did they have to call two cabs for their wife and kids in the chairs? I'm not sure how many of them have wives and kids, but they have chairs. But they've got chairs, that's the point. Well, I got two chairs.
Starting point is 00:22:48 One from WrestleMania, what was it, 14, Mike Tyson, Boston, 1998, and I got a chair from the Survivor series in St. Louis with the cool Austin Skull-flaming logo thing. Boy, if you sit on one of these for three or four hours, I bet your ass was flaming. But I have a couple of those that I'm finally letting go. they were never circulated. They were given to me by the warehouse major domo back in 99
Starting point is 00:23:21 when I sound like Don Adams now. 99? When I was getting some ring apparatus for OVWs. Here, take these chairs. That chair from the WrestleMania where Austin won the title. That's a big deal. That's why I'm selling it.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Because somebody else can have the big deal now. Actually, I don't remember now if they did it at WrestleMania 10. I may have been after that, but I remember that was around the time where they first started doing that. And, you know, it is one of the things. How do you get, if you're taking the train, what do you do with the chair? There was a couple of years before that. They not only couldn't sell the chair, they could sell the fucking ticket for the fucking seat.
Starting point is 00:24:00 And then all of a sudden they got, they got too big for their britches, as Mama Cornette used to say. And they started selling the actual chairs. You have to buy a ticket to sit in the chair that you've bought. At what point does the collector who has a stack of these chairs in the corner say, what am I doing? What am I going? Hopefully not before he buys the ones that are on sale for me. Well, no, you want to get a unique person who's not one of these people glomming
Starting point is 00:24:25 all the chairs from the market. Well, yeah, there are the chair hoarders. You say they just got lines of chairs. It looks like a goddamn Elks Club banquet, but they're all paperview chair. Are these really yours that it's some fan sentiment and say, hey, I love your career in basketball, sign my chair? Yeah, no. haven't shipped me a chair yet.
Starting point is 00:24:43 If they're that dedicated, I'll sign to some bitch and well, I'll keep it unless they send me money to send it back, because it takes a little bit to ship a chair these days, you know. But anyway, that's the sale at Cornett's collectibles and especially the photo portfolios that I'm so
Starting point is 00:24:59 proud of, and they are obviously, there's right, between the two portfolios, you've got 22, 8 by 10 photos digitally remastered from the original negatives, on high-quality photo paper, suitable for framing. You can do your rec room.
Starting point is 00:25:17 You can do your office. You can do your bedroom, as long as there's not a woman in the house. And you can have all those legends looking. You can have Harley Race looking down at you sternly, or whatever the case that you want. Right there, boom, the home decorating for Christmas, all right there in two little packages. Well, frames not included.
Starting point is 00:25:41 I don't know if that's a selling point. Keep it in a portfolio so your family doesn't see it. Keep it in your pants so the family doesn't see it, ladies gentlemen. That's the motto for this year's holiday. Well, you can keep it under your mattress, the portfolio, and then flip through it with a flashlight under the cover in the dark, you know, but they're wonderful pictures. And that's what's happening at jimcornet.com.
Starting point is 00:26:06 All right. All right. Before we go any further, and I know some people are saying, saying you've gone too far already. We're going to talk about the AEW program later on in our episode here, but apparently people have again inundated us with the news that Uncle Dave and cousin Brian are they're like, they're like Buddy and Alfie now. My boys, my boys here, Buddy and Alfie, they're snarling and nipping and biting at each other
Starting point is 00:26:39 all the time, except my boys are, they're. brothers, they're bros. They're just playing. They're just rousting around. But it's getting, let's get physical, physical between Dave and Brian, there's there's some
Starting point is 00:26:55 venom. There's some enmity. I see, I've listened to Dusty too long. There's enmity going on. There's hatred. Yeah, I don't know if let's get physical is the right song they use. Even though the word physical's in it, it wasn't that kind of
Starting point is 00:27:11 physicality, like beat someone up or fight with someone. It was a whole... Oh, I think they're going to... Any minute now, any minute, they're going to shoot the angle. See, this is a long-term storytelling deal where they've just... Somebody's going to have a pop-eye moment. I believe it's cousin Brian. Because even though he's small, he's wiry.
Starting point is 00:27:29 He's like the Barney Fife of podcasting. He's... His hands are deadly weapons. And he's younger. And I'm telling you, I think he can take Uncle Dave. and sooner or later he's going to have the Popeye moment. Bow, bang, zoom to the moon. And then he's going to be arrested for elder abuse
Starting point is 00:27:51 because poor Uncle Dave, I mean, they're not going to be able to determine if any part of Dave's head and face are swollen more after the attack than it was before. It's kind of all gotten mushy now like a rotting vegetable in the fucking back of the garden. But, you know, they're at it again
Starting point is 00:28:11 they're at it again there's audio then the video started going around I don't know why Dave is dying his hair he's he doesn't have the head of hair he used to and it's noticeable so it's really noticeable when all of a sudden it's jet black like fucking Elvis or
Starting point is 00:28:30 Prime Wayne Newton like he's just black it's just black and I think you I think you will find that I have elected to age gradually because everyone knows that you've been around for a while. There's no sense in trying to hide mother nature. You can't fight mother nature. But if you were going to, would you go jet black or would you go like brownish or something?
Starting point is 00:29:00 I would go the brownish with maybe a little salt and pepper type of thing because people would have. to figure, you know, what the fuck. Yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah, a little credibility here to the thing. Don't look like goddamn Joe Franklin on Channel 9. See, I got you there with that local reference and now you'll never be able to unceree. W-O-R, Sikakis.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yeah, that's... There you go. And, hey, great things come from Sikakis. But this argument is a really unique one. We could discuss the merits of their point. but it's really the tone of it and the, I guess the way it could be dismissed any criticism of AEW.
Starting point is 00:29:48 But let's get what you, let's get what you. Let's get your thoughts on this. This is Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio discussing Stephen Borden and Darby Allen's promo in the back where Edge came out, or Adam Copeland, to confront them because they're going to be in a number one contenders match for the tag titles which he and Christian Cage are the champions.
Starting point is 00:30:15 And yes, at which Darby has actually is the one that has made the challenge for, as I recall, but nevertheless, then we will come back and not only obviously we'll be reacting to this, but then I'll tell you what I thought of the daggum interview. Go ahead. Yeah, and this is going to go for a while, so we'll break it up along the way. and give our thoughts. Let's go to this. Meltzer and Alvarez on this promo. This was infuriating.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Copeland says, Steve, you said you wanted to challenge the tag champs. If you beat Fletcher and Knight at all out, well, I don't know if you know this, but I am one half of the tag team champions. And, brother, you're reaching past the stars for that dream. There's nothing wrong with what he said. No, this guy was a guy, like,
Starting point is 00:31:00 I had no idea it was the number one contend. It was like, this young guy's challenging me. How dare you? He never said that. He said that he had no idea. He said that you were overreaching that you're not ready for this thing. I mean, you're in the match. He did the promo acting like he was offended in what Steve had said.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Yes. You're offended that he wants a tag title shot? He's in a number one contenders match. Why are you mad at Steve then? You get mad at Tony? Get mad at whoever put this match together, whoever put him in the match. In theory, this guy, let me stop it here for a moment because this is a silly argument. but what are your initial thoughts here?
Starting point is 00:31:37 Well, also, it's not like that Edge was coming in screaming. This is where, again, I think Alvarez is touchy here, because Edge was, I thought, trying to create some kind of story and at least a little bit of interest where there really is none, and it doesn't make sense the way it's booked. but if Edge just matter-of-factly says, hey, to Stephen, I think you're great now. You've got a world of potential. You know, you're going to be big.
Starting point is 00:32:17 But I'm a legend. You're reaching for the stars. And you, Darby, you're fucking wonderful, but you climbed Mount Everest. But I look at it like you're trying to climb to Mount Everest here. He was trying to just drum up some fucking interest, but he wasn't saying, Stephen, fuck you and your father, you're a fucking punk,
Starting point is 00:32:39 you'll never be anything. So I think Alvarez is touchy, and Dave, on the other hand, he can't articulate what I just said because he's too busy trying to stop. No, don't criticize this at all. You don't understand. Instead of trying to reasonably fucking discuss something.
Starting point is 00:33:03 If I'm the goddamn unreasonable one or reasonable one, how unreasonable are they? All right, let's go back to this audio here. Meltzer said what, even posted it? Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez discussing this critical situation. Over his head, and I'm telling you, I'm a legend of 30 years, and he's had three weeks of TV. So, yes, you don't, you're in way over your head. That's obvious what he said. I mean, if you didn't get it, you get it.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Why is this, Dave, why is it a number one? Why is it a number one contenders match then? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter? No, the point, the point of all this wasn't about. Hold on here. Hold on here. And Dave is mischaracterizing it from his side because Edge wasn't fucking foaming,
Starting point is 00:33:52 mad, angry that they would challenge. But at the same time, he also wasn't dismissive. Like, you know, Dave's out, you're in over your head like that. And then it doesn't. doesn't matter, negates the whole, it's a stupid idea to put this young man in this big of a position this quickly. And everybody trying to, it's a die, rocky die fucking scenario. All these people are too polite to do that.
Starting point is 00:34:20 But where you're just obviously pushing a guy into a main event position because of who his father is from the start, no matter how good an athlete he is, blah, blah, blah. there's nuances to this, but Brian's gone one way, and Dave's completely incapable of admitting that Tony is not putting this guy over in the right way from the start. That's just my thought.
Starting point is 00:34:45 And no one's criticizing Stephen Borden for the fact that he dresses like he's a big fan of deuce and domino. Yeah, well, there's that too. I don't know what is fuck. Remember, I said, what is his gimmick? Maybe they've just got him in a black bag until they can figure out how to color him up.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Of all this, is that he thought that Steve was in over his head if he challenges them. Okay, in the match or not in the match, you're in over your head. We're at a different league than you. Well, if Steve wins, he's challenging them. It doesn't matter whether Copeland likes it or not. It's a number one contenders match. That's what he voiced. Ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:35:19 That was the point. It made perfect sense. Look, everything makes perfect sense, Dave, except when it doesn't. And this didn't. This makes perfect sense. You're talking about a guy who has been wrestling for 30 years and a guy who's been wrestling on television for three weeks and he's saying that you're over your head.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Of course that makes sense. Of course that makes sense. The guy is in a number one contenders bet. How did he get in there then? How did he get in there then? If he's not worthy. Hold on. Let's stop it for a moment because they're just yelling at each other. Yes, it's because of Tony.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Khan's bad booking. Of course he shouldn't be in a number one contender match for a tag team title or any kind of fucking title after three matches. And as well, I might as well go ahead and say and also what I thought from this interview was when Darby got the chance to respond, he sounds like he's somud, even though he's straight or whatever the fuck. He's just, bleh. He's just a mud fence as a personality. And then Darby accepted the chance. He's just a challenge. He said challenge accepted. Edge wasn't the one that gave the challenge. They said they wanted to challenge the fuck. So they accepted their own challenge. So Edge walked out there and was trying to think of something to say to not talk about the fact that this doesn't really make sense.
Starting point is 00:36:47 We're having this match. So I'll try to give it some kind of backstory. Well, you're just starting. And as good as you are, you know, you're you're reaching for the same. stars, kid, and Darby, you know, goddamn, you're going to have to climb to Mount Everest because we're legends. What the fuck else is he going to say? Stephen, I never liked your father. What is he going to say? He's still, he's supposed to be a baby face. Christian is a baby face because he's a heel that his partner, the baby face won't let him say bad things about the other people's mothers. God damn it. Do you see why with this booking at Ed, may have just tried to make some shit up to talk about.
Starting point is 00:37:30 And I don't think he was, I think he was right down the middle with it. I think these two are both fucking out of their minds. You know, the problem too with him calling himself Stephen Borden is every time someone addresses him by name, it sounds like they're, you know, like a parent. It sounds like they're pissed at him, like, listen, Stephen. Stephen, Stephen.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Yes, Stephen. It sounds like I'm talking to Alfred, Alfred. Alfred, don't piss on that curtain, Alfred. Let's go back to Meltzer and Alperus. Stop this, let's stop this. If he's not worthy, why is he in the number one content? Brian, you're not going to get the point. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Oh, wow. You're not going to get the point. It's an easy point. I think almost anyone can understand it. Let's move on. All right, let's stop it for a second, because that's insulting the way he just said that. Oh, wow. Just go and let me know when you've done the dishes, young lady.
Starting point is 00:38:19 Wow. You're never going to get it. Everyone else can get it. You don't seem to be able to get it. Let's move on. Let's move on. You're dismissed. Does anyone talk to Dave like that?
Starting point is 00:38:36 What makes a thing that's the way you... I don't care. I don't care if Brian was advocating for the people to start getting down on their hands and knees and eating dog shit off sidewalk every morning for a fucking health kick. If somebody talked to me that way, I would have to have an off-air conversation with with them, depending on how far apart we were. And it's on video. Either on phone or in person.
Starting point is 00:39:03 And it's on video, so you get to see Alvarez's face when he gets hit with it. Move on, you'll never get it, kid. Let's go back to this audio. He's got to learn. Brownie, it's simple. How do you not get this? Dave.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Adam Copeland. Just move on, just move on. We're wasting our time. We're wasting our time. Is upset that this guy is challenging them, even though he's in a number one dinner's match. That doesn't make a difference.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Should he win the match and then not challenge Adam Copeland? Is that the answer? No, no. He's giving him the speech of you're not ready. Whether you win the match or not, you're not ready. Why is he taking this out on poor Steve Borden, who just got put in the match by somebody else? It has nothing to do.
Starting point is 00:39:46 He didn't take it out on. He did. He targeted, he targeted Borden. He goes, I heard you, Borden. I heard what you said. That's right. I'm upset about this. Poor Steve.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Sexy Steve didn't do anything. He got pulled. putting a match by somebody else. Sexy Steve. Why is that his fault? Hold on. Hold on here. Jeez. That's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Hold on. Time out. Brian last. That's the end of the audio there. Well, Brian Last, not Brian Alvarez. Brian Last, did you see from edge the level of confrontationalism that is being represented by cousin Brian there? He wasn't being up in people's, either that or everybody's so-mudness company.
Starting point is 00:40:28 I'll just sleepwalking through this shit. But I didn't really detect any goddamn passion of anything in this. So that's why I'm asking you. Was Edge being snotty and heelish to these people or just trying to come up with a fucking reason to have this promo? Yeah, I mean, the idea of it may not have been the best one. And maybe it's all just a big tease because we'll see if Edging Christian or even the tag team champions after the pay-per-view.
Starting point is 00:40:58 But, you know, he went from being a friendly guy to getting a little more stern and saying, well, you know, you're coming after me. I don't think it was, I do think Alvarez maybe overdid it a bit here. That's why I think the bigger story is just about the dismissiveness and, you know, the rush to get away. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you'll never get it. because the perfect counter argument to what Brian was saying there was to find the fault where it lays at the bottom, which is Tony booking this shit this way. But that's not on the table, so he just has to fucking yell at people.
Starting point is 00:41:46 But I'm telling, I think maybe we ought to start a GoFundMe for some kind of couples, counselor. I don't know. maybe we need a separation. A few more notes here. Meltzer said what, tweeted these out or retweeted him, I guess Dave Meltzer on Twitter. Someone wrote, Mike Gilbert. Dave and Brian went to war
Starting point is 00:42:06 again on W-O-R. Great Radio. To which Dave, quote, tweeted, When that becomes great radio and the talk about AEW, boxing in UFC, as well as the battles over Paramount WBD deal, aren't the main subject. I think
Starting point is 00:42:22 there's a real priority issue. For sure, I'm not the guy to listen to because I'm not wasting time on silly stuff any longer. And then... No, I'll tell you what, if you want any kind of goddamn good, exciting radio, Dave is not the guy to listen to any longer. I'll say that for it. And then someone else tweeted, Can't believe he said, you're not going to get the point,
Starting point is 00:42:47 so let's move on to another podcaster on his site. Which is, you know, it's Alvarez's partner. to which Dave responded, it was a waste of time, the entire subject. Adam Copeland cut a promo, said things you would obviously say in a wrestling promo, like exactly what his character under the circumstances should say, wasting time because someone didn't want to accept makes for a bad show.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Someone! Makes for a bad show, you know what? Hey, I'll tell you what, if all they'll do is this all day, I think it's a great show. I don't want to hear any of this goddamn straight talk about wrestling, but if they'll argue with each other, I think it's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:43:29 If they will debate serious points about AEW's TV like this, that's great radio. The fact that Dave doesn't recognize that's great radio is because he doesn't want to participate in it, because he doesn't want to be a part of that kind of conversation.
Starting point is 00:43:42 He just doesn't want to break with tradition, therefore he doesn't want to participate in entertaining radio. Yeah, Brian Alvarez, get in touch if you want to promote your book over here. Let us know. You want to come on the show. You know, what I'm thinking Dave's problem is,
Starting point is 00:44:00 because I'm detecting, as the old Southern saying goes, he's whining like an old widow woman. I'm thinking that Uncle Dave may be having to take the Earl Shib to the hair and things like that because he's, he's battling mother nature, he's battling time. He's only got a certain amount of time left,
Starting point is 00:44:24 and you know what goes, Brian, with time? Testosterone. He's got the low testosterone you're hearing about. You know, nobody used to hear about this. It used to be just, well, look at that guy. He's just a witty old bitch and he don't have much energy. But now we know because of the miracle of modern science and technology,
Starting point is 00:44:48 yes it can Corre Apple we know now that it's because you ain't got enough testosterone if you have not tested your testosterone to see if your testosterone holds up to numerous tests well then you just don't know but you can cover your bases
Starting point is 00:45:06 with our friends at Mars men Brian you remember Mars men we've talked about them before they're back now they're back from Mars it takes a while to go all the way up here and get more of this shit and come back with it. But I'll tell you what, ladies gentlemen, if you have to take anything from another
Starting point is 00:45:24 world, you want to take, it's the only product we sell that was not manufactured here on Earth. It was. It was, for the record. Well, it was the only product. Now we've got two of them? I thought this was still just the one. It was manufactured on Earth is what I'm specifying there. Oh, the other product. Okay. Well, nevertheless, the stuff from Mars is what I'm talking about now.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Mars men. Let's say, you know, You hear about the military. They left the military guys out on the ship for nine months or whatever. They could have come home. Their wife could have got pregnant and had the baby, and they'd have never known about it. But when you're in the military staying in shape as part of the job, the Mars men people are recommending this to the people in the military
Starting point is 00:46:08 because they got to stay in shape. When you hit your 30s and 40s, according to the literature that I'm reading, then things start to feel different. Energy drops off faster, recovery takes longer. You know, everything starts drooping. So imagine how you'll feel when you're in your 60s. Better start nipping this in the bud. Where was this shit for me 30 years ago?
Starting point is 00:46:36 But nevertheless, you can get confused with all the testosterone there because some of this testosterone, well, you hear bad things. and you don't want to just fucking do the wrong thing because then you might not be around for the right thing. So you just take a nice supplement that the Mars men people have gone all the way to Mars to research and to figure out and to come back and guess what they've done.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Here on Earth. Here on Earth they've done this, yes. Well, they did after they got all the raw materials and the smarts and everything. Here on Earth. Because they asked Marvin is the head of Mars men up there on Mars. You remember Marvin the Martian?
Starting point is 00:47:19 Oh, Marvin. I think he said Mormon. I was like, who's Mark? No, no. Well, actually, Marvin is a Mormon. He converted when he was in Salt Lake City for that conference. But Marvin the Martian, who's a Mormon, has recommended Mars men to, what they do is they use clinically dosed ingredients like Tong Kat Ali.
Starting point is 00:47:42 He's the brother of Tiger Ali Singh. and boron you may remember him from that movie where he impersonated people. Borat and that's not that. Well that helps free up that bound testosterone. Your body when you're old and fucked up, it locks
Starting point is 00:47:58 up your testosterone. It won't let it out without some kind of ransom. I was for years feeding my body ice cream figuring if I give you this, when you just let it go, but apparently that doesn't work. There's also ingredients in Mars men like Shillijit.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Finugreek, I swear I'm not having a stroke. These are things, along with vitamin D and zinc that support natural T production, energy, and recovery. And basically, instead of forcing hormones into your body, the Mars Men, helps your body use what it's already producing. Well, that way you're not. Did you see the other day on history's greatest goddamn medical triumphs or whatever that show is, some moron until like 40,
Starting point is 00:48:44 or 50 years ago was recommending people inject their own urine back into their body to promote their immune system. I think he was full of piss in my opinion. Yeah, I guess so I missed this episode, this special episode. Back to Mars men, we have a great deal. That was a thing that was happening. See, don't listen to these quacks now and don't even save your piss, much less ingest it. Just take the Mars men with somebody else's pissed in.
Starting point is 00:49:13 No one, God damn it. No one is pissed in anything. Ladies and gentlemen, a fine product if this is the kind of thing you're looking for right now, Jim has details on a great deal. No urine, but you will be in good health. I want to apologize for Brian's profane outburst. Oh, come on now.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Saying outrageous things here about a fine product for the listeners. There's a 90-day money-back guarantee to this stuff, so you just do it as a rib if nothing else. You got no risk in this. And if you don't absolutely love it, you get your money back. But 91% of users report higher energy levels. The other 9% they can't prime off the top of the wall
Starting point is 00:49:58 so they can fucking put the goddamn checker on them. A great deal, not scientific in any way there, but a great deal, Jim, for the listeners. Yes. Well, the 9%, they're still a little up in the air, so to speak. for a limited time now until it ends our listeners get 50% off for life plus free shipping boy they they hope you guys don't make it too long 50% off for life plus free shipping and three free gifts all of that that's men go to mars dot com for 50% off for life and free shipping and three free
Starting point is 00:50:41 gifts when you check you don't even need a code just they're sending wacky waving arm inflatable tube men to the corners to announce this to get the they're giving it away just hurry and get it now while it lasts mars isn't going to last forever the mining rights already are going through the roof and after you purchase this fine product they will ask you where you heard about them and tell them us pronouns pal but support the show here tell them we sent you. We'll get the credit for it. Men go to mars.com 50% off for life. Now some son of a bitch out there it's 20 years old might live another 65 years. And if they're taking Mars for men, they'll probably live longer than that. They're going to run
Starting point is 00:51:29 themselves out of business with this incredible deal, folks. So get it while they're still in business because my God, they're going to lose money at a rapid rate. 50% off. life, free shipping, three free gifts, men go to mars.com. Just mention us. Well, back to Earth, Brian. We got to talk about some serious business down here on this big blue marble that we all live on. You know, several weeks ago, Grace and Waller showed up at NXT and cut a heck of a promo. I said, remember I said, Grayson Waller has now become my favorite wrestler because he did a good promo and aired everybody out down there.
Starting point is 00:52:11 course it was obviously, obviously all part of the plan. But then we have really seen or heard anything of him because he's on NXT and even Grayson Waller is not worth watching that fucking show. But we figured if he did something newsworthy, some of the listeners would alert us to it. And apparently that has happened, but I'm sorry to say that it's newsworthy for all the wrong reasons. They've put the belt on Grayson Waller in NXT. He's the
Starting point is 00:52:46 NXT champion and now apparently his next challenger and number one contender is our old friend, the human waterbed himself, Mason Rook. He's still there. They haven't got buyers' remorse
Starting point is 00:53:02 come to their senses, watched him work, whatever the K, listen to him talk. He's still there and now it's Mason Rook versus Grayson Waller for the NXT title. They had a big confrontation in the ring between the two of them. You saw it,
Starting point is 00:53:22 didn't you, Brian? I did. A lot of people said we should check it out to see what's going on with two of the people we've been following and I certainly saw it. Well, I quit following Mason Rook. I was freezing to death in that much shade. but what's the matter with you trying to see me get a cold I have not heard that one that was good
Starting point is 00:53:47 well I don't want to get pneumonia at my age but this is this is one of the reasons why that for the first 70 years of television wrestling until what 10 years ago or whatever it was they didn't just have two guys just go out there and stand in an empty ring and talk to each other I will, I'll play producer here at a minute and maybe tell you how I might have tried to structure this thing, but as it was, it's the same thing.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Grayson Waller goes out, he's got the bell, this guy thinks he's the number one contender, well, fuck him, Mason Rook comes out. And then they stand there for five or six minutes at least. It wasn't longer than that. And just talked to each other. and most of this was Grayson Waller
Starting point is 00:54:41 doing a promo or I can't even call it a promo reciting some verbiage to Mason Rook while Mason Rook paced around in street clothes and his dumpy-ass self looking like a fan that wandered in from a fucking Rosie O'Donnell
Starting point is 00:54:59 look-alike contest. It's just and the way that Grayson Waller, the thing I liked about his first promo was he came out. He was cutting people a little bit sharply and making some pointed comments. Now, he spent half of this trying to put Mason Rook over as potential top talent and you got all the potential in the world and you've got talent and did I mention the potential? The only criticism is you're soft and lazy and complacent
Starting point is 00:55:34 and I've seen quit in your eyes. Can you imagine looking at this motherfucker going to have a fight with him? But I've seen quit in your eyes. I've already seen the fucking fork in his hand. I wouldn't need to see fear in this fucking guy's eyes. You didn't see quit in his eyes because it was catering. But that's, they've scripted this stuff. And even said at the start, Grace Waller did, said I could,
Starting point is 00:56:06 come out and, you know, and roast you and tell Jeff, well, yeah, that might have been fucking entertaining. It might have been something a heel might do at this obvious target of ridicule, because look at the state of him. But he just said, I'm going to wear you out and blow you up and make you quit. And then he handed Mason Rook the microphone so that he can make a big comeback to this somehow. And of course, and Grace Wilder had been making the jokes also.
Starting point is 00:56:38 This is a microphone. I know some of you in the back don't recognize that. He's still trying to do the inside shit, but he's standing there with this fucking Macy's float. And they're trying to give him this verbiage to put this fucking guy over
Starting point is 00:56:54 when nobody would. You wouldn't even if you, if he thinks he's so great, why do we want to see the match? What did I say the other, on the other show we did about these two guys telling each other how great they are and how we don't just see somebody tear somebody the fuck down in two or three minutes like a heel used to do or a baby face fucking make you want to see the match with some
Starting point is 00:57:23 intensity like Dusty Houston. Instead, we got these monologues, these boring ass frumpy motherfuggers. God damn it. So the Dickens Street Urchin in his soprano it does did some lines about Grace and Waller not making it on the main roster and the friends and family
Starting point is 00:57:46 crowd popped I get because he wasn't in the vision I don't know what the fuck was going on there do you well first he said I have a theory which got to pop because of the mention of theory and then he mentioned the vision the idea that his former
Starting point is 00:58:02 partners over there right now with Maxie Dupree in the vision and he's what Mason Rook. Well, yes, but the people, it was like they hit the applause sign for the, you know, I guess they've taken to this, I guess he stands out back and hands out donuts after the shows to the crowd. But nevertheless, it's like being told off by a rude 12-year-old when this guy is talking and he actually, he says, I'm the best big man in the game. I'm not sure of any of those three words except big.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Best big man, big is not in question. The other two may be negotiable. And I'm thinking, how does Grace Waller keep a fucking straight face? It's just no. And if you said to me, Jim Cornett, we have captured Buddy and Alfred, and we're not going to let them go until you produce this segment. to get something that may cause some goddamn interest in these two, then I would do it reluctantly, but I'd do it a little differently.
Starting point is 00:59:16 Do you care to hear it, Brian? Yes, as long as the dogs are safe. Well, that's first and foremost. Again, the reason why that so much of this is so stagy and these guys just meander and it's just painful is because there's no moderator, there's no interviewer, there's no authority figure keeping them from just, well, I'll just slap you. Because why, there's no rules to any of this shit anyway anymore. People just do what they want. And if you can jump a guy and try to run him over with a forklift
Starting point is 00:59:50 backstage, why can't you slap him in a live interview if there's no official in between you? Just a thought. But have your lead announcer, the play-by-play guy, the host of the show, have him bring out Grace of Waller, the NXT champion, and introduce him by leading into, but you're going to be defending that NXT title against none other than Mason Rook who says he's the best big man in the business. And I'll tell you this, he's got all the potential and all the, and you have the announcer pitch it by saying the good things about the baby face
Starting point is 01:00:27 and confronting the heel champion with that. and then closing up with, but it's going to be settled in the ring and your thoughts on Mason Ruth. And then let goddamn Grayson Waller do his heel promo. He doesn't need to put the guy over. He could even say, well, you're right about all the things you said, but then he can call him a fat fucking prick with a goddamn coastline instead of a waistline who's got his own gravitational pull or whatever. and say he's indicative of the guys around here that are soft and lazy and complacent.
Starting point is 01:01:06 And I'm not in any way intimidated by him because to squash me with that big fucking frame, he's got to land on me first and I'm too quick and too smart and too experienced and a blah, blah, blah, and let him hit him with the final fucking insult. And let Mason Rook come out with a few referees following him. and people trying to say, whoa, don't do this, and teach them how to act also instead of standing like fucking statues
Starting point is 01:01:34 with their goddamn arms in the air. But have him bust in and say, motherfucker, you can say it to my face, I know I'm fat. I've been fat all my life. I just wish he had some type of different goddamn voice. But he could already come in fired up instead of standing there
Starting point is 01:01:55 with that mope face and those jowls like droopy, droopy fucking dog listening to him being eviscerated for five minutes before he responds. He comes in hot. I've been fat all my life and I'll tell you what, I'm going to be the fat NXT champion when I get a hold of you because one way or another, I'm going to squash you like a goddamn grape,
Starting point is 01:02:17 you son of a bit, whatever. Some emotion and fire up and maybe try to pie face while or let him try to and get a little shoving going on that everybody's getting in the middle of. The announcer can reiterate, you can save it for the match. It's going to take place next week and blah, blah, blah. And get some type of tension and confrontation
Starting point is 01:02:40 without these two just standing there and they could have done it at any time if they were that pissed, right? Nobody was stopping them. Fuck. But they didn't. It's what they didn't do. No, they didn't.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Oh, big match, I presume, coming up somewhere, I guess. Well, I think they said it's next week. Do we have to watch that too? Certainly to God, they wouldn't put the belt on this. No, they can't put the belt on him unless they make a new belt. It wouldn't go around. Who do you think we'll do the run? We haven't watched in a while.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Who do you think we'll do the running? Will it be Tony DiAngelo? Will it be Cruz, Montana? Will it be Zilla Fatu? Or a wild card? I think it'll be Arnold. Finster. Wild card.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Okay. Yeah. Wild card Arnold Finster. He's on the developmental roster right now. How did you know? They just gave him the gimmick last week.
Starting point is 01:03:40 He pulls fucking playing cards out of various orifices of his body, his nose, his ears, his ass, and flings him at you like fighting stars. All right. A modern day spellbinder. Well, that's all about that,
Starting point is 01:03:55 I guess. well I understand that we'll keep updated on let me throw this as far away as I can a pad of notes about Mason Rook the PWI 500 is out from what you have led me to believe and they have rated the wrestlers they've undertaken that massive responsibility so we don't have to because right there in one magazine from Pro Wrestling Illustrated every single wrestler of any note in the wrestling business right there,
Starting point is 01:04:29 rated in order. No argument, no discussion needed. They've done it. It's scientific. It's over with. There's no way we can disagree with anything. We're just now reporting on the facts. Is this correct?
Starting point is 01:04:44 We will certainly report on what is there. We can talk about what we think is fair or not. But Jim, real quick, the PWI. 500, which began in 1991, the evaluation period, August 1st, 2025 to July 31st, 2026. So if you win the lottery on August 1st, 2026, you're still a broke son of a bitch in their eyes. It wouldn't count towards this, the criteria, in-ring achievement, influence, technical ability, competition, activity, and the committee. and the committee includes Arcadian vanguard's Brian Solomon.
Starting point is 01:05:28 But we've been asked to also say that nothing is his fault that you're about to hear because he's just a cog in the flywheel. He actually said if anyone has any issues in any of this, please get in touch directly. So reach out. Yes, directly. Bypass us completely go directly to Brian. But Jim, let's get to the PWI 500. And also, there's one more criteria also, and who do we believe sells magazines so we can put in the top fucking couple and put them on a cover?
Starting point is 01:06:01 That's a heavy, heavy influence. And for this issue, I think this is the first time PWI has done this, there's an alternate cover. There's one with several of the candidates. Oh. And there's one with just the star, or number one, I guess we should say. just the star of our show. And we've also established that they seem to wait
Starting point is 01:06:26 and I'm not using that in terms of W-A-I-T, they wait, W-E-I-G-H-T, they weight their rankings. At the top, often toward AEW, we've gotten the impression that they believe that the AEW audience is more of a magazine
Starting point is 01:06:46 buying population sometimes than the W.W. audience in the past with some of these lists, I recall. Do you recall that? That is the way it has seemed at times. That's the way I always heard it was going to be. Sometimes it seems they really like women wrestlers who no one's heard of on their cover. I can't really explain a lot of those decisions, but let's get to the people.
Starting point is 01:07:14 Well, Ben, that's a deep subset of the audience that buys several copies. because sometimes the copies wear out or get stuck together. Jim, who do you think will be number one for the period of time in question, but for what we're going to call it, 2026, the 2026 PWA 500? Oh, guy, you know I'm so bad on remembering this modern chronological timeline, as far as who did what, was it in July or September, because it all blurs together. but I mean if you're going for the top guy
Starting point is 01:07:51 in the business over the last year and a month or whatever the fuck would it be punk would it be rains would it be I think the bloom has kind of been off Cody I don't think they can give the number one spot necessarily to any
Starting point is 01:08:14 individual at AEW at this point, if you're talking about number one in the entire business. But are they going to try to fool me and go with the deep cut, one of the indie favorites? Who are the stars in wrestling these days? What are stars? Let me clarify this. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:40 See him punk. Jim, number one, MJF. Oh! Well, bless them. They're rewarding past accomplishments, apparently. What the... Well, during the evaluation period, it says here, won the AEW World title for a second time,
Starting point is 01:08:58 pinning Samoa Joe in a four-way. Then lost it, then got it back, lost it again, all in the same period. When his third AEW World Championship by beating Darby Allen in New York City, used a half-crabb and the low blow to defeat Averno and capture the CMLL. World Light Heavyweight Championship
Starting point is 01:09:19 August 1st in Mexico City defeated Hangman Adam Page in a Texas death match in Los Angeles and he put away Kenny Omega with the Heat Seeker Pile Driver
Starting point is 01:09:35 He should just and he put away Kenny Omega people have been what in a mental institution Well it's good for him Jesus Christ and now he's gone and he's gone. A big jump last year he was number 30, this year, number one. I would have thought number 30 was too low.
Starting point is 01:09:57 I think number one may be too high. Jim number two on the list. Last year's number one and number one the year before that as well, Cody Rhodes. Well, I thought the bloom was off Cody, but I honestly didn't think that he'd get number two this year. to be honest. Uh, because now we're still leaving out,
Starting point is 01:10:20 Roman, we're still leaving out punk. We're still leaving out anybody at AEW that's actually on the fucking cards these days on a regular basis. Well, you've mentioned him a few times. Number three, Jim, C.M.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Punk. Okay. Well, I guess they figured, well, you know, what's the fuck? We've got to do this now. Number three, CM Punk. Number four, any guesses?
Starting point is 01:10:45 number four. Oh, God damn it. I don't know where these people are going. Mystico! Oh, come on! Me stico, you cannot deny the amazing success he has had at Arena, Mexico, and all throughout the land of Mexico,
Starting point is 01:11:01 Lucha Libre's number one star, Mistico, with his hit song, with his hit song. All throughout the land of Mexico, remember when when Tony Shavati said, few weeks ago. Well, the match next week is going to be in his hometown of Mexico.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Yeah. He's like fucking Lance saying, Hector, tell him in Mexican to stop it. How many pro-wrestly illustrated magazines do they sell in Mexico? I can't speak to their international distribution. I do not know. Do they have a Spanish language edition? I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:45 When we, I mean, I know he's doing, I think Mystico doing record business in Mexico is a bigger story to the American internet fan that it is to the fucking fans in Mexico. Somebody ought to tell him, what is he just the average Mexican fan, not the fan that reads the internet or the tourist fan or whatever, but just the regular Mexican fans that come to Arena Mexico on their regular night. of the week and watch the matches. Do they have any idea they're in the middle of a record-setting run of business? Or do they even give a shit if Mystico wrestles on some TV show in the United States?
Starting point is 01:12:29 Or are they just regular fans like we used to have here? And now it's just the fans here. It's a big fucking, oh my God, Mexico is doing record business. And the guys in fucking Lancaster, Pennsylvania, or whatever, or we hawking.
Starting point is 01:12:46 and he'll never darken that doorstep anyway. Well, before you run them down any further, during the evaluation period, Jim, he beat MJF in a mask versus title match at the 92nd anniversary show for CMLL winning the World Light Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Barbaro Cavernario in a brutally physical
Starting point is 01:13:11 two out of three falls light heavyweight title defense in Mexico City on January 9th. He was Barbara Clary's brother. He won a thrilling bout over Templario on an episode of MLW Fusion. Tape February 7 in Cicero, Illinois. Wait, what? Did MJF work for MLW? No, this is Mystico.
Starting point is 01:13:36 This is Mystico. Oh, this is Mystico. I'm sorry. Mystico works for everybody. But that's a big jump down from CMLLGIM, MLW. W Fusion there, but that's number four, Mystico, number five. Any guesses on five? No. Konoske Takeshda. Oh, for Christ's sake. Number five. Surprise, right? That's a surprising
Starting point is 01:14:01 success story here. Yeah, we haven't gotten to Roman Range yet, and I don't even like Roman Rains, but he's what are the biggest stars to business? How would that? Well, let's see if he's next. Number six, Jim, Hangman Adam Page. Oh, good God. I don't even, I mean, he's not even positioned anymore as highly as Moxley is. And even though Moxley is the worst pushed wrestler in the goddamn business, if you were going to go to the AEW well, Moxley's a bigger deal than Page is now. Former career taught journalism, graphic design, and communications
Starting point is 01:14:46 at Halifax Community High School in Nova Scotia? In Halifax County High School, excuse me, in Virginia. Oh, oh. I was going to say maybe that explains something, but he taught communications, but he can't communicate.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Well, Jim, let's move on here. Number seven on the list. You guessed it. Yoda Suji. Yodda Suji. Y'all do what? Yoda. Suji.
Starting point is 01:15:18 How many magazines do they sell in Japan? And what minute amount of the American audience would have ever heard of this young fellow? Well, he has a big sports background, Jim. It says here he played quarterback for the Nippon Sports Science University's American football team. And... And...
Starting point is 01:15:43 He was IWGP champion over the last. last year, but congratulations, Yoda, Suji. So he played on the football team of a technical college. But Jim, let's move on here. We got a long way to go. Well, we're not going to do the whole 500.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Number eight, Trick Williams. Oh, Lordy. We like Trick. I like Trick. Everybody likes a good trick. But he's not top ten in the business, is he? But neither are some of these other fucking fellows.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Who is an interesting one, number nine, Obafemi. I can understand him possibly being moved up to the, well, with the way this list is going three or four, because now you've got a new star who everybody's interested in and he's almost undefeated and he's in the main events that he's drawing, there you go, crank him up a little bit.
Starting point is 01:16:46 Well, number 10, any guesses on 10? 10's a big number. Any guesses, 10? 10 is the loneliest number that you ever heard. Well, I guess one times 10, but Jim Gunther, number 10. How did we not think about Gunther before now? I just, where has Guzher been? He's kind of an afterthought right now.
Starting point is 01:17:09 He's on SmackDown. He's wrestling CM Punk and Finn Bauer tonight. But he hadn't been around lately. He was goofing around with Dan Housin, right? a few weeks of that. Oh, fuck. Yeah, I try to skip over that shit. Well, number 11, Jim.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Goonther should be higher, also over Yakotori. Well, speaking of higher, Jim, someone who jumps sky high, bandito. Number 11, bandito. Oh, Roman Raines must have turned them down for an interview.
Starting point is 01:17:38 Well, I don't know how many times, I guess, I'm assuming Roman Raines wrestled within the period of time that is in question. So, yeah, well, let's see if he comes number 12 Darby Allen Oh boy Darby Allen
Starting point is 01:17:51 They're appealing to the indie crowd at this point At 13 we have Cruise Montana Montana Montana Did they
Starting point is 01:18:03 they had to mention somebody from NXT and he was the champion at the time At 14 Callum Newman He is the one that looks like a goddamn
Starting point is 01:18:16 you know, escapee from an orphanage, right? Because he's, I don't know how else to describe it as if I'm thinking of the right person because they mentioned his name and wasn't he on one AEW show or something, or he was on a clip from it. He's the youngest IWGP champion in history and he's a part of United Empire. And 11 years old. Well, maybe a little bit older than that, but let's move on here. The weatherman here in Louisville on WHAS, the child prodigy, Austin Evans,
Starting point is 01:18:51 he could kick the shit out of Callum Newman. I'm not going to do anything to stir up this fight, Jim, but... Well, you ought to hear the things that Austin Evan has said about Callum Newman. And his mother... If he looks 11, let's move on to someone who wrestles 11 at 15 Kenny Omega. Oh, boy. Well, how the mighty have fallen, because he was the darling of the... the subset of the indie fans here,
Starting point is 01:19:20 and now he's all the way down to 15. So he's in the sunset of his career. Followed by 16, Will Osprey. I can't believe if they're going to put anybody in AEW on the list that they didn't really lead with Osprey, because he's or should be the marketable guy at this point. I guess within the period of time, it's right before he won the world.
Starting point is 01:19:49 title at Wembley, but he was still pretty well-pushed in his comeback, but here he is, nothing to be embarrassed about 16, followed by 17. I'd be embarrassed if my name was on this list at all. Kanzushka Okada. Oh, boy. Followed by Dominic Mysterio at 18,
Starting point is 01:20:10 and John Moxley at 19. Boy, what a fucking threesome. And Dominic, again. should be higher he's younger he's with the bigger company he's has better matches he can talk and then oh kada oh boring obla obla di obla da he broke down he can't work he can't talk and he looks like shit well set ralins comes in at number 20 followed by 21 kyle fletcher
Starting point is 01:20:46 22 Sammy Zane 23 Penta and 24 Kevin Knight so a swing there of top in ring talent of the day it's like hold on they're alter well they're almost alternating they screwed up they should have replaced
Starting point is 01:21:07 Kevin Knight and Penta in opposite places and they'd be fucking alternating 25 of Swerve Strickland followed by Zach Sabre Jr. 26. Drew McIntyre, 27, where's he? He must be filming
Starting point is 01:21:24 goddamn gone with the Scottish wind because he's been gone a long time. But there's another guy. I don't know how long he's been gone that maybe he just wasn't, he had to be active for some of this, but to put any of these various unknown names
Starting point is 01:21:44 above a guy like Drew McIntyre is blah. Followed by 28 Samoa Joe. Where's he? He was filming something. Yeah. He's filming the new season of the Peacock series Twisted Metal, it says here. You think that Tony is just
Starting point is 01:22:02 at this point would he save himself time if he just fully funded the motion picture country home now and gave everybody a place to retire to? Because he pays people to go do movies and TV all the time. Well, Jim rounding out the 20 is here at 29, Leon Slater, and at 30, Killer Cross.
Starting point is 01:22:26 Ooh, boy, that one will come back to bite him. Where is it? Did he quit the business? He's gone, right? He is, uh, he won the MLW World Championship in January. He holds titles and several other promotions, including Australia's WSW and Romania's RPW. in Romania. He had to go to Romania. And then it says dot, dot, dot, oozes charisma.
Starting point is 01:22:56 Jesus Christ. Who wrote that? Apparently somebody who wants to get that ooze on him. No, he's a complete shit. Let's look at more of the people. And here, okay, for the young guys, the new guys, where's Javon Evans? Where is Javon Evans on this list?
Starting point is 01:23:19 He ought to be on top of some of these some bitches, too. Let's see. 31, Inamura, 32, Silas Mason, 33, Miihara, 34, Claudio, 35, Lee Mariarty. That's a surprising one. Is the 35th best wrestler in the world? Followed by 36, Hi-ho del Vikingo. I was going to say, he-ha-haw, he-ha.
Starting point is 01:23:45 Followed by 37 Andrade, followed by at 38 Atticus Cougar. Cogar. Is it Cogar? Atticus Cogar. Who? It has a picture of him here. I don't know who this man is. He is from Cleveland, Ohio.
Starting point is 01:24:02 He overtook Effie last fall for the coveted game-changer wrestling championship. Oh, there you go. Winning a triple threat also involving Charles Mason. All right. Oh, I was thinking Clarence Mason. But so basically this, this cougar fella got behind, I bet that's the first cougar that ever got behind Effie. Jim, let's move on here.
Starting point is 01:24:27 39, Ricky Saints. 40, Nick Nemeth. 41, here's your answer, Javon Evans. Oh, for Christ's sake. That, all right, and I'm a Nick Nemith fan, but. Jesus Christ. rallying at the 40s LA Knight
Starting point is 01:24:50 Grande Americano Jay Uso Mark Briscoe Tony DeAngelo Carmelo Hayes Hecachero and at 50 we have Jacob Fatu
Starting point is 01:25:03 Oh what nice having to put him up at 50 since he was just challenging for the world title of the biggest company in the world a few months ago during this period of time but he was a nearly
Starting point is 01:25:17 do it as well as fucking the guy that stretched Effie. All right, I'm going to fast forward a little bit. Let's see how many of these names you've ever heard of. We're now in the 100s. 111. Tom Latimer. I know he is actually a
Starting point is 01:25:34 Camille's husband. That's right. That's right. 112. Averno. I've got an aversion to him. 113. 113. Elijah Blum.
Starting point is 01:25:51 Well, maybe he fell off the roads. 114. Shun Skywalker. Or could be Shun, I'm not sure. Shun or Shun Skywalker. Actually, I thought he was in a movie, but so no. At 115, Otis Coger. I guess the, uh, the,
Starting point is 01:26:16 the brother of the other one, the cougar. The brother of the other brother. Oh, yeah, that's his brother. It says there. Atticus is his brother. So... Well, it's good. It's good. They're in the family business. At 116, we have Shinya Ayoki, followed by 117, Luke Jacobs, 118, Brian Idol, 119, Ahura,
Starting point is 01:26:40 120, Go Shizaki. Any of these names ringing a bell. I've seen Go Shazaki's name in print before somewhere. But we're only in the hundreds. Brian, you and I on your program are doing a list of, we have done a list of guys in 1984 in the business and are doing now 1994 and going through lists of names in their 20s and 30s and 40s. And we would get to 100 people long before
Starting point is 01:27:14 that there was ever a name that you didn't ever hear of. And this, we're already in the hundreds and with nobody's. Is this the state of the business? 161 Malachi Black, you've heard of him. 162, Alec Plyce, Alec Price, excuse me, Alec Price, who apparently is an AEW, I don't even know who this is, but he's there. at 163 Mao
Starting point is 01:27:46 What? M-A-O Mao Is he the chairman? At 164, Yamato 165, Daniel Garcia
Starting point is 01:28:01 166 Kaito Kiyomiyo Mia Excuse me for not being familiar with Mr. Mio Kio Mr. Kee.
Starting point is 01:28:13 Pio Mia, 167 Jackson Drake, and 168 Shabata, he once had his brain removed, as reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a breakthrough in science, followed by 169, Kerry Morton. He once had his brain removed, according to the observed, no, I kid. Ah, ha, ha, ha, no. 170, Chris Brooks. Chris Brooks. No? Is he related to Phil?
Starting point is 01:28:45 Well, here's one for you. Here's one that you know. 177, Mike Mondo. Good Lord. Trained by OVW Wrestling School. Well, and again, if this list was the list of the top workers in the business, you could put Mondo probably at number five,
Starting point is 01:29:05 I would think even today. But, you know, he certainly deserves to be higher than that, but on this list, I think the people who put it together were high. Well, let's hit the 200s, Jim. I was about to say, let's fast forward. Number 200, A.J. Francis, better known as flop dollar. Oh, my God, you think he's calling him up cussing him because there's a hundred and ninety-nine nobody's in front of him? At 201 is Chaz Hall, aka Starboy Charlie.
Starting point is 01:29:39 Oh, boy. at 202 is Ilya Lefleur who used to wrestle as E.K. Prosper, a French wrestler. Wait a bit, we just saw that name somewhere written out or we read it or something, didn't we? Yeah, where was that? It was about a match. It was about some match we went back to look for the results for. I don't remember what it was, though. Thanks, modern wrestling. Jim 203, Robbie Thorpe.
Starting point is 01:30:06 Robbie Thorpe. followed by 204 Rio R-H-I-O R-H-I-O R-H-I-O R-H-I-O R-H-I-O Followed by
Starting point is 01:30:19 But that's that, is that our Rih-H-O or is that another Rio? Yeah, when's her next comeback, Rio, but let's move on. Wow. At 205, Trevor Lee. Whatever happened to him? They shaved him.
Starting point is 01:30:37 Yeah, that was the one it was, what was his name? Jackson, Dretton. No, it was, uh, what was his name? It was, uh, yeah. What was his name? He was very hairy. He was a hairy man and he had appeal to him.
Starting point is 01:30:47 They beat that out of him and shaved him. He used to say his name and all his promos. I can't remember what his goddamn name. God damn name was. What was his goddamn name? Cameron Grimes. Cameron Grimes. Cameron Grimes.
Starting point is 01:31:04 At 206, E.K. Prosper. Oh, I guess he was just listed. Yeah, you know, forgive me. The other guy is not E.K. Prosper. This is E.K. Prosper. The other guy used to be Iguel blank, and he wrestled E.K. Prosper to a draw. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:31:26 But E.K. Prosper at 206. Blank and Prosper, it's official into record books. It's a draw, ladies gentlemen. Jim, followed by 207. Rohan Roger. Are these even names? What is what is happening? How can they have 300 more of these?
Starting point is 01:31:43 At 208, June Kassai, followed by someone you know at 209, Hammerstone. Good Lord, we haven't heard of him in ages and eons. He, I thought, was going to be somebody, somebody. He was going to be somebody that got some notice, but nobody noticed. Well, at 210, Robbie X, Robbie X, followed by Drew Parker.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Any of these names pass the name test, Drew Parker. If you're putting together a phone book of Poughkeepsie, they're fine. Followed by Roger Strong. You've heard of him at 2012. Poor fella. Roger Strong. At 220, Big Fudge. Big Fudge, Jim, trained by Madison Eagles.
Starting point is 01:32:39 A comedic competitor who became... Who is Madison Eagle? Oh, you think Big Fudge is comedic competitor? Well, Big Fudge became the PWA heavyweight champion after defeating Cheves in January. He held the title for 168 days. That's a heck of an accomplishment. You know, I heard that...
Starting point is 01:33:00 I'm looking at a picture of Big Fudge. It's a skinny white guy in a mask. What the fuck? Unexpected. twist there, ladies. Oh, boy. I would have thought the only guy that Luthez would agree to drop the NWA belt to was Big Fudge. Well, I'm going to go a little more forward here on this list, Jim, to see what's going on.
Starting point is 01:33:27 If we go to other women on the list, there are some women on the list, apparently, because Megan Bain is here at 264. Is that her placement or her weight? I don't know exactly. At 264 out of Las Vegas, Nevada. It's her placement, and I know it's not to wait because at 262, too, before her, is Mason Rook. Ah, well, we know he's definitely in the fours. Jim, at 266, BRG, B-R-G, followed by Vaughan Vertigo.
Starting point is 01:34:02 Von Vertigo, nicknamed Vigai. I wish I could have been there. the one to pitch Vince McMahon the name of we we're going to call him Vaughn Vertigo Vince holy fuck that sounds like that fucking creative services shit
Starting point is 01:34:21 like Chili McFrees Jim remember Fuego de Sol? Yes, yes did he Fuego away? What do you think he's wrestling as now? He's number 269. He's wrestling as
Starting point is 01:34:34 the return of Fuego del Sol. KJ. Orso. KJ. What does that have to do with either Fuego or Del Sol? He's moved on from the soul, it sounds like. At 270, hell hoo-ah. What? I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:34:53 Help me. Forgive me for not knowing this name, ladies and gentlemen. X-E-L-H-U-A. Hell-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H. There's only one way to pronounce it. That's it. It sounds like a goddamn old Jamaican tune from fucking Harry Belafonte. Hello.
Starting point is 01:35:17 Well, Jim, let's move on here. Let's see some more names as I go down the list. Shotsie Blackheart's on the list at 291. Right above Scott Green. Scott Green, he beat Robbie Thorpe previously. Followed by Keanu Carver. Keanu Carver at 293, 294, Rusev. Oh my God
Starting point is 01:35:40 Where's he? Well, I guess he's back home in Bulgaria. I guess he got to be number 293 by just not wrestling. Well, he's 294 to correct you there. At 295, we have Saigo Tachibana, followed by Charles Crowley, followed by Jonathan Gresham. I forgot about him.
Starting point is 01:36:04 Followed by Tetsuya Endo, followed by Dustin Waller, followed by Charlie Evans. Charlie Evans. If you're lower than 300 on this list, wouldn't you be kind of, you would qualify to sue for slander, is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:36:23 You would have a legitimate case. Stop me when you've actually heard one of these names, legit. This is now we're in the 300. It's 301. Ichibon. Michael Plant or Michael Planté, I'm not exactly sure.
Starting point is 01:36:36 He's out of Quebec. 303, Trevor Outlaw. Trevor Outlaw. Followed by Mr. Danger. Mr. Danger. Eishon at 305, Eishon, Brian Cage, 306.
Starting point is 01:36:58 Right there, we got one that you know. Jesus Christ, I can't stand him, and I wouldn't put him below this murderer's row of fucking anonymous goddamn fugitives. Well, he's following. followed by 307, Travis Williams. After him, we have Dr. Redacted. Doctor Redacted at 308.
Starting point is 01:37:21 Sounds like a movie you'd see on Spanguli. 309, Jack Morris. Not the Hall of Fame pitcher, but this is Jack Morris. His tagline, sublime, every time. At 310, Jim, John Hawking. John Hawking,
Starting point is 01:37:41 What in the world? Fowled by Kara Noir. Kara Noir. Ricky Sosa coming in at 312. Ricky Sosa. He's a Belgian wrestler. I thought he played baseball. That's Sammy Sosa.
Starting point is 01:37:57 Oh. At 313, Violento, Jack. There's a lot of just hellboy. Yeah. All right. Everybody is asking at this point, what is the ultimate indignity that can befall a pro wrestler
Starting point is 01:38:19 to tell them that they are just the worst piece of shit that ever crawled up out of a slime pit on the history of the planet? Who's number 500? Well, hold on. We have 319 here. Cocaine out of juggledo championship of wrestling, apparently.
Starting point is 01:38:38 Let's scroll down to the bottom. I'm a Baron Corbyn's over here. Well, he deserves to be down there somewhere. Here's your boy. Paul Walter Houser, 374. 374. Lance Archer is 378, so he beat... Good Lord!
Starting point is 01:38:57 That's insulting. Mini Viking. We were just asking about this guy the other day. It doesn't say anything about him being a mini in the traditional sense. Who knows? Rachel Armstrong. She's on the list.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Ben Bishop, he's on the list. Toxin. They made the list Danny Limelight. The Dark Sheik. Bad Dude Tito. At 409, Grayson Waller. Oh, my God. At 410 Action Andretti.
Starting point is 01:39:32 Followed by Pedro Portillo the third. This is all over the place. Let's, I'm still scrolling down. There's a lot of pages here to scroll. Continue to scroll. At 464, does this pass the name test, Jim? Lou Nixon. Lou Nixon.
Starting point is 01:39:52 Here's Hayden Backland. At 461, Hayden Backland. Dante Casanova. Beast Man, I know that guy. Hello, Beast Man. Domino. Not to be confused with WWE alum, Cliff Compton. A different one.
Starting point is 01:40:10 Oh boy, there's some pictures in here. Let's go down. Here we are, number 500. Sydney Bacabella. His secret weapon, brass knuckles. He's the sleazy, self-professed former member of the WWF Hall of Fame. Is mainly a manager, but is endeavored to reclaim in-ring glory. retain the Dave's
Starting point is 01:40:38 hot chicken title against Tommy Dreamer at live pro wrestling and he won the king of Create a Pro Battle Royal Oh boy Wow Not surprised Tommy Dreamers
Starting point is 01:40:54 in a king of the hot chicken title fucking match What the fuck? What the fuck? Well you know, Brian Wow There's the comprehensive list right there, the 500 top wrestlers in the industry.
Starting point is 01:41:10 I wonder, I wonder if our friends at prize picks are taking any action on on these lists when they come out every year. You know, they're on top of every other sports and all the big happenings. The football is back now. They're doing the football thing again. And prize picks is all over that and giving great deals and all this stuff. I wonder, do they have the more or less pitch? on will your cousin Claude be in the top 200 pro wrestlers just because lack of pro wrestlers
Starting point is 01:41:44 this year? Some kind of action like that. What do you think? I don't know why I bet on Claude when you could bet on Mr. Elegance at 495. Mr. Elegance or Jay at 486, just Jay. Well, as a matter of fact, what you could do is you could pick, instead of picking two to six players like in a football game and then picking more or less on their projected stats like pass yards, rush yards, or fantasy score, well, what you could do is you could pick how many names is this stupid son of a bitch going to have? More or less on four names or six names? It just depends on how many names they have. You think they'd do that over at Price Picks if we downloaded the Price Picks app today, Brian? If we made it.
Starting point is 01:42:33 it urgent. That's right. To right now to download the prize picks app, would we find information like that? Oh, this time I'm hijacking the spot. We got to talk about 472, Jim, Horace, the Duke of Death. That's a great name. Horace, Duke of Death. If we did download the prize picks app, would we be able to pick more or less people that Horace has presided over their death? because now here's the thing also do we pick more or less like in terms of does a duke outrank a count but he's not as good as a prince and the king's on top of everybody but where is a goddamn duchess in all of this when was the last time we had a wrestler named lord there was lord little brook there was lord alfred hayes there was lord lincoln there was lord stephen regal
Starting point is 01:43:24 lord james blears and then eventually no more no more lords no no more lords no no You know, that's why, because it got to that it was too controversial because some people don't believe in the Lord. They believe in the ladies. And at prize picks, you can pick more or less on how many ladies you believe in, I think. Can't you do that? I don't think you could do that, but what? Could you pick a girl just walking down the street and then say,
Starting point is 01:43:51 I believe that she would take care of more or less than two to six players? That's not how this works. No, no. just depends on what you know about her personally. Jim 473, CPA, self-described accountant wrestler. And it seems like that CPA would know because he's all about the numbers, how to work the prize picks. And did you know that if CPA was right now to download the prize picks app,
Starting point is 01:44:20 he would get $150 in lineups instantly if he just won his first little teeny weeny, meagre little five, line up if he used the promo code JCE. So that's what he could do. And then he would be a CPA with all kinds of M-O-N-E-Y. Yeah. He wouldn't be stuck on the P-W-I-500 like Solomon Tupu at 468 or Bam-B-B-B-A-A-A at 469.
Starting point is 01:44:53 I'm assuming that's how you say because it's Q-U-A-A-D-E. Waday? Well, he's the cousin of Sade, the singer. He's a Danish mainstay. Let me ask you this. Can we pick more or less on vowels in a guy's name at prize picks? I don't believe so. You could say, what is that stupid son bitch's name? And then you could pick whether he's got more or less than five to six vowels in it. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:45:21 It's a good question for number 449, Abdullah Kobayashi. Abdullah Kobayashi. And let me ask you this. Suppose that your prize picks fan in the family was once a native of Japan and was a fan of Abdullah the butcher and then named his little Japanese son, Abdullah Kobayashi. And then wanted to pick more or less on their projected stats. That's why he downloaded the prize picks app and used the promo code JCE
Starting point is 01:45:51 to get $150 in those lineups instantly after he won his first five. dollar lineup, which translated to 747,000 yen. That's how he was able to run the game on prize picks, because he ran his game, and they ran theirs, and he won his, and they paid him theirs. Prize picks. Prize picks at 448, Eric Surge. But once again, prize picks, Jim.
Starting point is 01:46:22 Eric Surge. Eric Surge. What about Vic Vomit at 497? There's Leo Sparrow at 450, Alpha Zoh at 444, and Trey Lamar at 443. Where did Lamar Odom and Leo Sayer come in? I'm not exactly sure. Steve Carrino at 430. Is he wrestling anywhere?
Starting point is 01:46:46 I didn't know that. I don't think you have to be to be on this list. I think you have to be on the K&H list as having bought tights. Oh, my God, 435, J.D. McDunna. Oh, what in the world? He pissed somebody off. At least he's employed. He's at 435.
Starting point is 01:47:04 Guesser's at 4.30. Oh, my God. 430, Stephen Borden. How's that possible? He didn't have a match until August. Unless you're counting the indie matches we did see and didn't hear anything about, which couldn't have been that many, so he's above J.D. McDonough on the list. Wow.
Starting point is 01:47:25 All right. Well, once again, prize picks, Jim. Yes. One last time, what can the listeners do? Well, you download the prize picks app, and then you use the code JCE, and you're going to get $150 in lineups if you win your first $5 lineup, and that's the way that people get rich in the United States of America. Prize picks. Run your game. Prize picks.
Starting point is 01:47:50 All right. Well, nevertheless, we are now going to another... branch of sports in the world. We're like the wide world of sports, Brian, covering the globe. And there's a series now on Vice called Dark Side of the Cage. Because as everybody knows, when Dark Side of the Ring became their number one show over there,
Starting point is 01:48:15 all of a sudden, you got Dark Side of the 90s, dark side of the cage, dark side of reality TV, dark side of the mood, you got dark side of everything. They just, they don't have a, Jim Cornett in those respective fields. I think that's why these shows have not eclipsed Dark Side of the Ring in popularity. But Dark Side of the Cage is stories of
Starting point is 01:48:37 the guys in MMA and not just UFC, but the wide world of MMA. And we think the wrestlers are fucking nuts. Some of these guys are off their goddamn rockers. But the specific reason I wanted to talk about the one they aired this past week on our show was because
Starting point is 01:49:01 there's a wrestling connection. And Sadovovich, wouldn't you know who win the pony? Or who didn't win the pony? They didn't mention the wrestling business in an entire documentary
Starting point is 01:49:17 hour-long piece on Chale Sannan, who was inspired by the wrestling business. And I even told you, I told you to watch it because I said, well, you know, they got to, maybe they'll have some wrestling footage or he'll talk about Lynn Denton, the grappler or Portland wrestling or whatever. And I'm not disparaging the jail in this, but I don't know whether he talked about it. They didn't include it or what he wasn't specifically asked.
Starting point is 01:49:48 But the whole episode was titled Becoming the Bad Guy. and one of the pivotal moments in his career was when he was just a shy, retiring young guy, and suddenly he got the big title match. And this was, you know, after he had had, you know, not very much success in the business. And then he adopted the personality of the bad guy. And he went from the introvert who didn't stand out back to the UFC. and got the title match and the blah, blah, blah. And he made the most of it by cutting promos.
Starting point is 01:50:32 He did a wrestling gimmick. He was cutting wrestling promos, shit talking. And it was just like he just had this epiphany to do this. And none of his influences. And again, I'm not trying to, because Chale has talked about it in the past. I've had over the years past emails back and forth with him, talked to him on a phone for a number of times. He always talks about wrestling.
Starting point is 01:51:04 So I don't think it's a big secret. That's his fucking one of his catchphrases, beat me if you can. That's the grappler. He's talked about Lynn Denton. So were you as deflated as I was not to, at least they didn't explore this, root cause of what got him over, his promos?
Starting point is 01:51:30 Well, I was surprised they didn't mention it at all because it is something that is public knowledge, something that's well-known, something they could literally get the grappler if they wanted to for a quick second to say his catchphrase. Talk about where Chale got his catchphrase. You know, I think that was disappointing, but I also just think in general it kind of, it told the story pretty well of Anderson Silva and Chale's son and then they were like, all right, we have more time, let's fill in some other stuff. And... Yeah,
Starting point is 01:52:02 and here was another thing that happened. And the video of him at the hotel, they played the same video over and over and over again, to the point where I was like, I feel bad, just stop playing this video. But that was the thing. They started the program out with people commenting on him. Couture was on here, and his trainer, Matt Lindland, and
Starting point is 01:52:22 various people would say, say nobody's as good at selling a fight as Chal Sonnet. He's the greatest trash talker. He loves to be the bad guy. That was the thing early on in the UFC and mixed martial arts in general they hit that point where it was kind of like in the wrestling business a hundred years before. That's why you say
Starting point is 01:52:47 suddenly MMA was the wrestling business from 100 years ago and they're just evolving on fast forward because of modern media. But the early mixed martial arts athletes and the fighters, they either they were either trying to be sportsmen and didn't approve
Starting point is 01:53:06 of trash talk because that would demean the sport, you know, that type of serious athlete, or they were just boring fucking people with no personalities in large part. And
Starting point is 01:53:20 obviously, early on, there was a pro wrestling influence with Severn and Shamrock and etc but when Chale started doing this which was what 20 years ago a little bit more a lot of the guys really got mad because they didn't understand the concept of a work I don't know whether the modern day MMA and UFC guys understand really all the aspects of working and what wrestling is but I think they figured out cutting promos. Connor McGregor said that he was influenced by Chale Sondon.
Starting point is 01:54:03 But at that point, they were legitimately getting mad. And of course, now, whereas then Dana White discouraged over-the-top promos because he didn't want people thinking it was fake or it was bullshit or harmed their regulation. But now how, what the fuck more can you do 20 years later? these guys say and do everything and commit every crime and are charged with every offense and say every fucking crazy-ass thing. But at this point in time, he was legitimate.
Starting point is 01:54:37 It was like Ali and Frazier, when Frazier never forgave Ali for the biggest payoff Frazier ever got. Because Ali knew how to sell the fight and poke the bear, but if he'd have smarten Frazier up, Frazier wasn't a good enough actor to react to it properly. so that to me was another one of these missed opportunities that they had here to cover that these fucking guys that Che was making mad that were going to beat him up they didn't know he was fucking making him more money
Starting point is 01:55:08 that he was working to build a fucking fight. You see what I mean. Yeah. And Silva eventually figured it out. And he started cutting promos back. And I don't even know whether he figured it out as much as he thought that Chale was playing mind games and he'd play the games with him. But I don't know that any of them ever connected it to your dumb shits
Starting point is 01:55:33 were making money here. But that's when Chale said he went to a sports psychologist after he'd been released and lost early in his career and blah, blah, blah. And he said, we are who we pretend to be. And he, you know, picked up on that. but, you know, he was the only guy that really wanted at that point to be a heel. And then the problem was he could never win the big one. They go win the big one.
Starting point is 01:56:08 He beat up Silva for five rounds and tapped out close to the end. And what was it, like 300 strikes to Silva's 64, but then boom. and then he has had a history, as they say, of getting popped for steroids. But the big about, Chail Sondon, and for any of the fighters, if you notice all the old fighters, it's not, it's like an old fucking Jackie Gleason movie, half of them are all punched drunk or whatever or weren't great communicators to begin with. But he has become a commentator and has still kept his faculties. and he's always got a loophole.
Starting point is 01:56:50 He's always got an explanation or he's always got a way to get out of something. They popped him for steroids and he said, well, I disclosed it. I'm on testosterone replacement therapy. See, everybody ought to just be taking our sponsors instead of doing the chemical shit because you can get in trouble for that. And he told the doctor, but there's always a loophole somehow. and then he got into real estate. Did you love this story?
Starting point is 01:57:22 Well, I got into real estate. I needed some other income, and I didn't really know what I was doing, so I filled out some forms and committed 11 felonies. But I didn't really understand that I was doing that. What the, and the FBI told him that he had confessed and was guilty of money laundering. he almost gets out of things.
Starting point is 01:57:52 There's a gray area that he brings up. And did you catch the, I swear to fucking God. He did my old midnight intro, and they still didn't say anything about wrestling. When he said, feast your eyes and fantasize, one of his on-stage promos.
Starting point is 01:58:10 That was my Midnight Express introduction. From fucking 85. Anyway, he got a rematch and got beat again. And Randy Couture is like, well, does he doubt himself? He, because he has doubt from his relationship with his father or whatever the fuck, but he kept getting knocked out every time he'd get a big fight or just, or failing a drug test and admitting it. But then he beat up the civilians in the,
Starting point is 01:58:46 a hotel in Las Vegas. And did it sound to you like that he had just had a fight with two other guys and was really pissed off and suddenly he barges past this couple in the hallway and slaps the guy's drink out and the guy says something to him and he beats him up? That's what it sounded like to me. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what happened. It sounded he definitely beat a few people that didn't sound like that. And again, he looked pretty sloshed when they arrested.
Starting point is 01:59:17 him. Sloshed, he said it was ambient, which is a perfectly, same effects, same effect. Perfectly legal type of thing to, but he,
Starting point is 01:59:28 he, he said he signed NDAs and he can't talk about. Yeah. If you, yeah, but anyway, charges were dropped.
Starting point is 01:59:40 That was his excuse. He was defending his honor. Charges were dropped. He signed some NDAs. Can't talk about it. Oh. And, yeah, basically, that was the bottom line of the whole thing, is that he taught him that promos, sell fights, and Chale created backstories to this shit,
Starting point is 02:00:03 so he'd have something to talk about, and that's kind of out of the wrestling playbook. But now they've, if they haven't figured it out in the UFC and all the MMA, they've just started doing it anyway. I'd have a lot of ground not covered here. Yeah, underwhelming. What was there was good. I thought Chale is great at telling a story, but underwhelming. The usual not-needed reenactments.
Starting point is 02:00:33 They were kind of ridiculous here, the one where he was throwing cereal, whatever the fuck was happening there. And they do, because they've stolen the whole gimmick, the dark side of the ring gimmick, they're doing reenactments with shit that they have video of, probably in some cases. I did hear that the Don Frye one was really good. I know there's a wrestling connection there, but I did hear from a few people that Don Frye one was good. Well, and I actually saw that and was going to remark about it,
Starting point is 02:01:01 and we got busy that because that was a couple of weeks ago. But there's more wrestling footage in that because he was a wrestler than there is in this one. I hope there is. Don't presume. I hope there is. I actually don't know. No, there is. I saw it.
Starting point is 02:01:16 Oh, okay. That's what I'm saying to you. I saw that a few weeks ago. And then we got busy and I didn't talk about it. And I forgot about it, like you forgetting that I just said that. Well, another. And he had a sad, sad, but he's okay now, even though he's in tremendous pain. Well, he is, but he seems happy.
Starting point is 02:01:39 He was smiling when they talk to him. So that's always good. Smiling through the pain, laughing at the rain. So anyway, I understand, Brian, moving along from topic to topic, that our friend Ari Emanuel, who now knows every single important human being in the world and has been there at the critical juncture of every happenstance and apparently has more money than God and the federal government these days. He's on the book tour.
Starting point is 02:02:16 I saw him last week on The Daily Show with John Stewart. I only watch Mondays because, boy, howdy. John Stewart is a genius, and then the rest of the week they let the amateurs come in for open mic. But he was doing an interview. Didn't mention a word about the wrestling business. He's selling his book and talking about all the big stars he knows and everything. But I understand that the book contains some candid quotes,
Starting point is 02:02:49 as they used to say, about what he really thought about Vince and or what was really going on when they were trying to get rid of Vince and dare I say, might even lend more credence to that they just kind of, they zoomed this fucking 80-year-old declining billionaire in a confused mental state and obviously highly testosteroneed. They kind of zoomed him out of his fucking company. old Ari and Nick Con and everybody from the way it's looking to me
Starting point is 02:03:25 but isn't that how karma works Karma chameleon if ever there was one but this this was a whole new Hollywood finally realized that we can make billions with this wrestling scam and this guy is losing his marbles and he's got issues, and we can play on this, and we can all get ourselves these $100 million a year jobs.
Starting point is 02:03:56 I have some quotes here. This is from the book, Roll the Calls, a memoir by Ari Emanuel, page 399. There's other stuff in here about Vince, but I don't have those pages where he talks about how he first signed Vince and brought them to Spike TV, and how Vince bragged about putting all of his competitors out of business and maybe we'll find that quote later.
Starting point is 02:04:20 So we sit down and pull the story apart and put it back together and try to simplify the theme. Make it into a yarn Wall Street wants to hear. We spend months at this task. The trouble is we keep getting blindsided by other stories,
Starting point is 02:04:39 particularly one lurid, gothic tale, a scandal that engulfs my client and friend, Vince. I was at Wimbledon when the Wall Street Journal dropped its first bombshell report. Vince making secret payments
Starting point is 02:04:56 to several women to settle harassment suits. I stared at my phone. Then did something I never do. Slipped it into my pocket. The rest of the match, I didn't look at the thing once. But I felt it in there,
Starting point is 02:05:15 like some tiny animal. wiggling, buzzing, chirping. People asking if I'd seen the story. Asking what it meant for the company. For me. Truth was, I didn't know. And now, months later, I still don't. As I walked out of Wimbledon,
Starting point is 02:05:35 Vince called and assured me the charges were false. But he also said he was going to step down for the good of the company. His daughter, whom I've always remembered fondly from our first meeting would take over. A short time after that, however, Vince changed his mind and took back the company. What a mess. Such a mess, in fact, that I can see only one solution, and Shapiro and I have been steadily
Starting point is 02:06:08 pitching that solution to Vince. Vince, old buddy, sell us your company. Wow. Let me stop there real quick because they were like vultures on a fucking fence post, just perched and waiting for the goddamn domino to fall that would put this thing in enough turmoil. And hey, we'll step in and fix all of this. And if only it hadn't have been for that anonymous person that alerted the media about this, Janelle Grant business
Starting point is 02:06:46 based on being an anonymous board member or whatever the fuck whoever that may have been it certainly benefited Ari Emanuel and his various subsidiaries benefited Nick Con because without that
Starting point is 02:07:05 Someone alerted the board and then someone alerted the Wall Street Journal knowing everything the board was up to Yeah. Amazing. Well, let's go back to this. Yes. We're on page 400 now.
Starting point is 02:07:20 The idea is to merge Vince's wrestling empire with UFC, creating one giant mega-organism. Vince can stay on as sort of a chairman emeritus. We get him into a room. Show him all the things we've learned from UFC. The knowledge that we could bring to bear. we talk about running his company but it's more about saving the company
Starting point is 02:07:47 because the whole enterprise is teetering Vince who's having all manner of health problems seems not to fully understand let me stop there Vince is his friend so he talks about how he plotted to get the company from him and then he talks about oh by the way
Starting point is 02:08:07 he has health problems up the gazoo I don't know if that's come out publicly anyway we've assumed... Well, it's kind of been... Yeah, it's been visible, but... I spend months negotiating with Vince. WWE is his baby, and I know he can't be rushed.
Starting point is 02:08:25 Out of respect, out of a desire not to spook him, I proceed with delicacy. And yet, after each call or meeting, I put delicacy aside. I get in Vince's grill, Lower my voice and give it to him straight. He's in his 70s.
Starting point is 02:08:48 He's damaged his health, his brand, with his own bad choices. Wow. We're his best option, possibly his only option. Let's stop there again. This is like one of those commercials trying to sell senior citizens gold by basically,
Starting point is 02:09:10 you know, things are going to fall apart and you'll need to barter for your family's safety. He was scaring the old frail billionaire. We're your only chance, Vince. Yeah, it doesn't answer that. Why? Only chance why? Because there were other people bidding.
Starting point is 02:09:28 You know, Tony Khan was the low bid at like $6 billion. Liberty Media. There were other people bidding. Now, no one else was going to put Vince in charge. No, but the thing is, but it was, this was decided before people bid. this was decided when they put it up for sale this deal was already done
Starting point is 02:09:47 they just had to make it look good that's what he's telling Vince all this shit's coming out and blah blah blah you got all the scandal it's going to kill your business you know we got to take it over Vince you got to you know
Starting point is 02:10:00 that's what he's doing here the negotiations are always friendly but also mad endingly slow It's a hard word to do when you actually see it there But also maddingly slow I can't fucking do it Maddeningly slow
Starting point is 02:10:17 Maddeningly slow But also madingly slow No No that's not it Maddeningly slow God damn it You know what I mean people I like to get in and get out of everything
Starting point is 02:10:36 Especially meetings And my assistant No, especially meetings. My typical meeting lasts 15 minutes. Vince likes to kick back, go over the finer points again. Tell some stories. Yep. Tell some more stories.
Starting point is 02:10:55 Yeah. Gosh, is it midnight already? Let's order some more food. With much breath work and visualization and mediation, excuse me, and meditation, I get through this gauntlet of interminable. meetings and eventually find myself standing in the private room of a swanky restaurant. Shapiro is there. Some exec from WWE is there. Some exec from WWE. Who's that? And we're all watching Vince pick up a pen and hover it over the dotted line.
Starting point is 02:11:32 Aye, aye, aye. Vince leans forward. Leans back. Has a few words he wants to say first. He talks about the great pleasure he's had in knowing me, being ripped by me, and the feeling of trust and affection he has in handing over his company to me. He's emotional, and then I get emotional, and I give a speech about watching wrestling with my grandfather, which of course makes me think of my dad, makes me think of how everything comes full circle. Everything is a circle.
Starting point is 02:12:10 Even wrestling matches take place in a circle. Wrestling shows, I tell everyone. His writing style takes us around in circles. Or how I quelled my anxiety as a kid. Focused my mind before I knew my mind was different. And now I'm going to run wrestling. And it's a point of tremendous pride. And then it's time.
Starting point is 02:12:36 Vince lowers the pen. He signs. I sign. We all hug it out. The sale price is roughly $9 billion. Afterward, we eat a nice meal. And Shapiro and I go forth to tell the world. Right, let's stop there, because that was a lot.
Starting point is 02:12:57 That was a lot. Boy, he's smelling his own farts on his writing style, isn't he? Or did they get some ghost writer to put this florid prose together? Here one last part here 401 and then fuck more revelations
Starting point is 02:13:19 the worst yet Vince accused of defecating on a woman during a threesome incredible how many things in the world of business are undreamed of in business schools wait a minute he didn't take the course in head shitting These revelations...
Starting point is 02:13:39 Dr. Schmidlap used to have that twice every semester. These revelations are on a different level. Orders of magnitude more troubling than previous ones. Moments after they break Shapiro calls. Ari, you reading this shit? Yes. We got to get them out. Yes, I know.
Starting point is 02:14:00 All the way out of the door, Ari. Right the fuck now. No emeritus position. No involvement in the table. company whatsoever. I know. You ready? Yeah. Shapiro dials.
Starting point is 02:14:15 Vince answers right away. I know what needs to be done. I have clarity, but I'm feeling uncomfortable. So I deploy my go-to phrase. Tell him, Mark. Shapiro sighs. Vince, we've crossed several red lines, and we're in New territory here. We both wait, listening to the white noise. Finally, Vince says, okay, tell me what to do and I'll do it
Starting point is 02:14:49 today. What are your thoughts on all that? Well, I mean, we kind of figured that's the way it was. It's just interesting hearing specific wording from people that were involved, but could Lord, that pretty much shows that Vince is contrary to people to try to start the rumors and the conspiracies and everything, it's not like Vince is still in the running to get back in after he's been publicly trounced in this book by the people who really do own the thing now. And you're right, I've seen another
Starting point is 02:15:29 not a transcription, but a description where that Emmanuel says that, yeah, Vince was telling me how that he blackmailed the cable companies to put his shows on instead of the competitors on the same nights in the 80s and ran a amount of business and a blah, blah, blah. Yes. Well, it wasn't me personally. It was Uncle Jimmy Crockett, but I'm pissed. I never got that inheritance.
Starting point is 02:15:56 But, you know, he's basically stoogey on because this guy is in a world as he shows every time that he named drops somebody else that he was. talking to or nuzzling up to, he just owns wrestling as one of the many things that he owns and the many things that is in his world. And so he doesn't care, he probably doesn't even realize the gossip that he's giving some of the wrestling fans in this book
Starting point is 02:16:28 because he's a big fucking deal. He's an international yacht broker. He doesn't need to worry about the wrestling gossip. It is crazy to actually see his own words of saying that he will be the person in charge of all wrestling. Like, that is a thought that hit him. It wasn't just like, yeah, we'll get WWE, merge with UFC and do everything else. It was, I will be the overlord of wrestling. And son of a gun, wouldn't you know who won a pony.
Starting point is 02:17:00 And that's what Tony Kahn's up against. No matter what he does, he has that up against him. Yeah, I mean, I know Vince had obviously some level of mental decay at his age and with all the things he's gone through and whatever. But if they outsmarted Vince McMahon, the family, the son-in-law, everybody, and they just swooped in and took this thing as it's obvious that they did and that it's been admitted that the bidding process was just for show and that the deals were basically seven. up beforehand. Langeus. Where Vince would leave and come back and blah, blah, blah. Langus.
Starting point is 02:17:42 Langus! What the blue hell? But Vince got swerved out of his company by these fucking professional big world swervers. And boy howdy, they really benefited
Starting point is 02:17:58 from that unknown person tipping off the various board of directors and media people. Who could have have been close enough to Vince to make that revelation. Somebody that maybe that he told that he had blackmailed cable companies to in the past. Who knows?
Starting point is 02:18:18 Yeah, what do you think Vince would, the Vince you know, which is obviously long gone, but based on what you know of Vince, what do you think Vince would think, knowing this is now public in this book from the person who took his company? I don't think he's happy. I definitely don't think he's happy. I think that there's got to be an element of him now that's going, you know what?
Starting point is 02:18:42 I, whoa, they fucking conned me to some extent. I think he's got to figure this out. And the, even in rooms with, with me or with Jim Ross or Bruce Pritchard or any, he never spoke like that about what he had done.
Starting point is 02:19:04 And if I blackmail those cable companies. He still even presented in meetings like just with us, even with Pat Patterson, a room, whatever, that, you know, it was a business decision and I explained to these people that we could generate more revenue, not gloating like I pulled something off, right? I think when he got old and got rich and just started to say fucking about a variety of things,
Starting point is 02:19:29 he wanted to finally brag about that shit to somebody, especially a big Hollywood mover and shaker, dealmaker agent. He's got to have some stories to keep up with what Ari Emanuel has done, say, well, let me tell you about the time I blackmailed in demand. You know, that seems like
Starting point is 02:19:51 that's what it was or what it's been or what it is, what it will be. Well, we'll see if there's any blowback to any of this, or if there's just more silence from Vince, who, other than the
Starting point is 02:20:07 Merritt Park way incident and the Genet Grant stuff, there's no news about Vince other than Ari's book, no projects, nothing. And Vince McMahon has never historically been one that would just let statements about him go without some type of reply. But really, the last positive thing we heard about him was that he'd opened up that office for a company named after a street that his father's office was on. I'm wondering, did they get him in office and just give him somewhere to go and like fake paperwork?
Starting point is 02:20:46 Yeah, like Murray Wilson. In a filing cabinet. Like Murray Wilson, a board, the way you could twiddle all the knobs, but it doesn't actually do anything to the music. Yeah, and maybe just does he have a secretary and whatever he tells her to make calls? She just says whether they're not in, they'll call back or, I mean, what? He's got the same assistance he had in WWE. he hired a lot of the former, if not executives, a senior office staff, right?
Starting point is 02:21:12 Didn't they hire a lot of the people that have been like that? Didn't we hear that? Yeah. Well, and also the big, what, George and Michelle? He just put out a book, apparently, George Barrios. I got to check that out. But you got to think that they're enjoying going to a goddamn Kruger Industrial smoothing job where they can just sleep under the desk all day,
Starting point is 02:21:33 working for a company that doesn't really do anything because Vince wants to own a company, what would they be doing for, I assume, large salaries? Yeah. I mean, you could only work the phone so much if you don't have a project. You need something to do something for or with. We would like, they're just cold calling. They're getting a phone book. Like his sales guy I do from WBKI TV over here, he gets the phone book.
Starting point is 02:22:03 go down and you'd call numbers and cold call people. Hey. What was it? You may remember, I don't think it was rodeo, but there was some kind of like thing that I think it was out of Philadelphia or Pennsylvania where Vince tried to buy it and the guy, it came out because the guy did an interview somewhere and just casually mentioned you that Vince McMahon wanted to buy this, but we didn't want to hand over the creative to him or we didn't want to hand over the whatever it was if not
Starting point is 02:22:32 the one creative. I don't, was it professional bull inseminators or something of that thing? Something along that line, something in that genre that Vince thought, okay, we could really get it to the next level with my creative in this sport that's never had creative. Well, you know, that's the thing. He's all over the place. I don't think Vince took good care of himself. It's a, he's not like all these other billion. millionaires that lived to be 90 and you can't get rid of them, save your life. He was eroding right in front of our eyes. I think the problem is he took too many supplements.
Starting point is 02:23:14 He was always taking the supplements and the vitamins and the ingredients and just multiple things just all over the place. I don't think you need that many. I don't really think, and Brian tell me what you think. I don't need you think you need to be taking 30, 40, 50, 60, various pills to you rattle around like fucking Aunt Clara's coin purse

I'm not sure I'm in favor of you breathing at this point. All right, we saved the worst for last here. That's not nice. Well, I'm not nice. They showed a, um, nobody of dynamite on the on the television again this past Wednesday it was September 23rd is leading up to the big how far are they they're all in all out all gone what is they ought to do it all gone pay-per-view and just open up the show and say well we we're not going to have any matches all gone is all gone is the post show party
Starting point is 02:31:17 well there you go and but anyway This was relentless to begin with because they had two hours of dynamite scheduled, followed by an hour of collision, followed by a half an hour, pay-per-view, you know, preview show. They basically, they overran their first three hours. They didn't end for three hours of 25 minutes and then had the 30-minute fucking pre-taped. So they did four hours. They overran into their own time slots. I don't know what the fuck.
Starting point is 02:31:53 but nevertheless all these shows are the same these days and usually I'll go okay these guys had a match they went about 15 minutes and then so and so won but for the first match on this program I actually watched it and I was actually and I'm going to critique it like it was a real match
Starting point is 02:32:14 Pinocchio because it was the new day involved the they have just signed one of the most popular tag teams over the past decade or however long from the WWE to come in their company and within a month they have teamed them up with a complete heel
Starting point is 02:32:37 that now they're making jokes about and their comedy promos they do about what a heel swerve is he has no friends they team them up with a heel to win the six-man tag team bell and I would say within two or three weeks, they're going to be just another fucking couple of guys on a card. And they already look like they're another couple of guys on a card.
Starting point is 02:33:06 This match was horrendous, and I will tell you specifically in great granular detail, why? But the way the show was formatted, they come on the air, they're in Indianapolis, and they hit us with the nonstop, billboards for this match, that match, the other match, the other thing is going on. I wonder if old Sockface Excalibur has a oxygen tank that he uses at ringside to keep up with this thing.
Starting point is 02:33:36 More like a nitrous tank. Well, that would, you know, I wish it was, what, what is it helium? He would have talked like that. That would be entertaining. I wish it was helium. He would fly away. That would be even more entertaining. But they go in the back.
Starting point is 02:33:52 then and they've got the interviews in the back with ricochet and his Samoan stooges, and then they go to Nana and Swerve and the new, new day. And that was long because they had to do, they get the wordiness in and had to do the comedy where it was obviously scripted that they're asking, say, who was your friends before we came along here, swerve? Then swerve, that was five minutes into the program there for the bill, boards and the promos.
Starting point is 02:34:25 Then swerve entrance, new day entrance, ricochet and Stoge's entrance, and they have a match for the six-man tag team title, where whoever wins this match and retains the title or wins the title will then face Brodildo and Page at the payper-view in three days. So just,
Starting point is 02:34:48 anyhow, they ring the bell. And like I said, I was going to watch this match and critique it like a real match because these guys are involved, and we know that Kofi and Creed can work. If they couldn't, they wouldn't have made it 15 years of the WWE or whatever. They can do the moves without reasonable risk that anybody's going to be injured. They know the rules of tag team wrestling, or they would have been instructed them where they've been previously employed.
Starting point is 02:35:20 they were an attraction and they had curiosity coming in because the way that they left, they had sympathy or sentiment from the fans because they were wrong. So they got a lot of good shit they could fucking use with these guys. And like I said, their work is fine. But what they're doing here is because Tony is obviously paying them a lot of money. because elsewise, if he wasn't, they wouldn't have left where they were when they were offered half of what they were getting. We assume that Tony's given them what they were getting and that apparently was a lot of money.
Starting point is 02:36:02 So they want to prove that they can do what the cool kids do. And they can do all the funny spots and the fun spots and the tricks and everything. And I understand that. They got to earn all this money by playing with the, you know, the kids. But also they're making a mistake that FTR, I used to mention they made it a lot, where they are making
Starting point is 02:36:26 shit complicated enough that they're not judging the level of their opponents to follow. Because the two Samoan guys, I think Bishop Kahn is the younger one, or not the younger but the smaller one.
Starting point is 02:36:42 He has some potential. But he's just another guy in the shuffle around here. and the big guy is strong, but I, to quote Ernie Ladd, the boy ain't got it, I don't think. And so they're trying to act like that these guys are the normal opponents that they're going to be able to experience and keep up with whatever they're doing and it ain't happening. Nevertheless, do you, do you have any comments? I've just droned on before I've picked this fucking thing apart. No, I'm enjoying listening to this.
Starting point is 02:37:17 I'm a little surprised out of all the things on this show the last several weeks, that this was the thing you decided to hone in on. So this is a pleasant surprise. I don't know about pleasant, but it is surprising. So ricochet and swerve started. And of course, they started trading the punches, and they each sold like the first one, and then they started throwing them faster
Starting point is 02:37:38 and forgot to even sell or register because they were in the middle of going into their parkour. And they did a lot of that. And then the Kofi and Creed, the guys, they got in, boom, did some things. Like I said, they could work. Then the first major incident, and this is why at some point I couldn't stop watching, because I wanted to see what was next. But this was early on.
Starting point is 02:38:07 Creed and Kofi do a double team spot on Bishop Kahn. Boom, and they plant him in the middle of the ring. And then Kofi jumps up and he goes to do the spot. You're going to know what I'm talking about. if you watch this thing, if you didn't blank and miss it, but where the guy runs to the ropes to hit the ropes to come back and do something, but the heel is outside and jumps up and pulls the rope down, and the guy instead of hitting the ropes,
Starting point is 02:38:32 he goes backwards out of the ring over the ropes, right? Did you see this spot? I did, yes. Well, ladies and gentlemen, in 50 years, no, 55 years of watching wrestling, and I've never seen it done this way because Kofi went, ran to hit the ropes and ricochet. The most experienced one of the bunch of them was on the outside and was supposed to jump up and pull the rope down.
Starting point is 02:39:02 And he did. He jumped up and pulled the middle rope down while Kofi was going backwards over the top rope. And it had looked to the, like he just ran to the rope. ropes had just committed suicide by back flipping over the fucking rope on purpose. Well, there's this stupid little bald-headed midget hanging off the second fucking rope.
Starting point is 02:39:30 In 50-something years, I have never seen that mistake made. I think I may have seen it intentionally, Tiger Jackson versus Little Louie, one of their classic matches. It just, I don't, so point being, and Rickettsay also, here's something, it wouldn't have worked anyway if he'd got to right rope because he was pulling with one hand and he don't weigh a hundred seventy five pounds, does he? And he's pulling with one hand and he was three feet from the turnbuckle. He could have hung from his fucking neck on it and not pulled it down far enough to do that spot.
Starting point is 02:40:13 And me and Robert Gibson used to do that spot in midnight rock and roll matches because who could take a heck of it at a dead run. he could just turn and hit and spin backwards over that top rope to the floor. But you've got to grab it with both hands and you've got to be in the middle. And so we did so we didn't get flummoxed up. The way that he took the bump, I would have to be slightly, he'd have to be on the right of me. I would jump up to the left of the center of the top rope,
Starting point is 02:40:42 just to the left and grab it. And the way that he spun over on the bump, he would go a little bit to the right, so he would go just right over and past me, and boom, and there it was. But you can't pull the fucking rope down with one hand, three feet from the turnbuckle. So anyway,
Starting point is 02:41:04 then, but here's the deal. Then they've pulled the fucking rope on this guy. That's the way you stop the baby face for the heat. No, they just, that was fine, and then they got to heat on Creed. so Kofi just had to fucking get up and stagger back over to his quarter and then they're getting the heat on Cree. And at one point his guys are doing so, he one of his guys, whoever it was, had a cover and getting a two count. He's flexing on the turnbuckle and taunting the fans.
Starting point is 02:41:41 I think he likes taunting the fans because they say such devastating shit to him. on every piece of social media. But he's distracting from his own fucking team getting heat. He's a fucking idiot. If his partner's had any experience, they'd be pissed at that their partner doesn't know any more than what he knows. And they went to a break
Starting point is 02:42:05 and they come back, swerve and Kofi are just on the floor selling and they're getting heat on Creed. Again, in a lot of cases, in a six-man tag match, they'll just have two of the guys in the ring, and the other four will be laying in various places on the floor, just laying there waiting for their next cue.
Starting point is 02:42:27 There's no continuity to a match and a contest, and you want to root for one side and hope the other side doesn't get the advantage. It's just who's on stage to do their tricks. So, and then sometimes it's got, again, they can kind of shoot around it on television, guys are just sitting on their ass on the floor watching what's going on in the ring for no reason they could be up on the apron in their corner but the building sees it and then at one point
Starting point is 02:43:02 ricochet ever they've been beating creed up ricochet shot creed off to the ropes and creed just dove over the top rope instead of hitting it and landed on the other heel that was out on the floor and then the other heel knocked creed over the top of the desk so that every everybody. Come on, people now. Everybody dive now. They all dove out to the floor and then suddenly they gave a doomsday device to swerve off the railing around the ring to the floor. But then that's forgotten later because then they just got back in the ring. And I think Creed kicked ricochet and knocked him goofy, but then went for the tag to coat. and he was milking it from one foot away for too long.
Starting point is 02:43:54 Like, I can't reach you. Nobody's stopping him. He's 12 inches. And then he got it. And then Kobe made a comeback. And that's where he tried. Oh, God. When I was talking about your calling this quick-paced shit, complicated shit,
Starting point is 02:44:12 guys can't keep up with it. He did the deal where he tried to run up to the top rope and jump off backwards and turn around and do a flying Hurricane Rana on, I can't remember which one of the stooges it was. But I think it was the big one. I don't know. But the point is he missed him
Starting point is 02:44:35 because the guy was either too close or too far the right or whatever instead of head scissor and he went right past him and he almost turned it into a flying bulldog because that's got a way he grabbed the guy on the way down. But since the guy knew it was supposed to be a hurricane and Rana, he let fucking Kofi fall in a heap in front of him and then just did a forward flip on top of it.
Starting point is 02:45:00 And then Kahn and Leone, at least when they're together, I know which is which, they double teamed Kofi a couple of times in front of Aubrey, who was just standing there letting them do it and waiting to count to cover. But when they were finished beating Kofi up and they covered him and she counted it, Creed came in to make a save, and Kofi rolled out, and Creed stayed in, and they started fucking, who's legal? And the heels, at one point, the heels were tagging in and out, but the baby faces weren't. Then they threw Creed over the top rope, and they started double team and Kofi again,
Starting point is 02:45:46 and Aubrey was just staring and posing at the heels, double team in the baby phase. she's got the leg cocked out or she has an arm bent up in one way or it's like she's a traffic cop I don't know what to fuck at that point ricochet was on the floor next to one of the baby faces
Starting point is 02:46:09 so what did he do he rolled into the ring ran to the far side of the ring hit the ropes ran back and dove over the top rope to dive onto the guy that he was just standing next to he could have just kicked in the balls. What the fuck? With that,
Starting point is 02:46:28 they, this is just an excuse to do stunts. And then, then the stooges were kicking the shit out of the guys that Tony's paying a million dollars a piece or more to. And then Kofi tagged Swerve. It got,
Starting point is 02:46:52 ah, Swerve did some shit. at 100 miles an hour, but the big one no sold his shit, but then swerve 450 splashed him, and then tagged Kofi back, but the big one stopped Kofi immediately. So Creed came back in with no tag and started doing some spots with them and took Kofi's place. And then that heel rolled out, and the other one came in. And then they just random order. they were just coming in and doing things. And then all three of the baby faces covered the big rotten one at the same time
Starting point is 02:47:29 and Aubrey counted it. The fucking midget spot. They've got their former world champion and guys that he's got a couple million dollars a year wrapped up in minimum and they're doing midget spots to beat these fucking guys in this mess of a match. And it's not over. that's only we're only 26 minutes into the show having seen nothing else but these vagrants and then the music played and here came bro dildo more baby faces because they're going to
Starting point is 02:48:08 have another baby face six man tag match after i just asked you brian did you how long did you watch wrestling before you ever saw one and the fans were just staring and then page old hangnail congratulations you guys hey new day glad you're here but you don't realize who you've gotten involved with that's a loaded statement they don't realize who they've gotten involved with but they will and then page is ask a swerve you're teaming with these guys now and there's heat between them but the new day are telling page and brodie king and dip shit his friend. Since we've been here,
Starting point is 02:49:02 Swerve's been cool as he could be. And Brody King's like, it's the only good line in the old thing. He's been here three weeks. And so they're talking about the booking loopholes. Like, and then Page is telling Swerve or telling the new day
Starting point is 02:49:23 that Swerve is going to show them who he really is. And the Bucks and JetSpeed left him and New Day Will 2 and blah, blah, blah. And then Brody King jumped in, actually tried to promote the match, but then he let Bandito talk and he sound like the fucking guys
Starting point is 02:49:46 in the old movies that put a cloth over the receiver to disguise their voice on the phone. Well, he corrected himself. He corrected Korses and he realized, I better pick up the mask and put the mic here. And then they all stared at each other. and we were 32 minutes into this show. So now do you see why that I say, okay, New Day,
Starting point is 02:50:09 another investment down the old porcelain throne? I mean, yeah, Tony has a very unique way of bringing people in and not getting them over, capitalizing on how over they already are. You would think New Day, it's a prime setup for something fresh in the tag team division, and it probably still will be at some point. but he really wants to
Starting point is 02:50:32 I mean he has not put this much time into the trio's tag title and the tag division since it was created and now it's all over this show it was 30 minutes on this show even if you wanted to see almost four hours so
Starting point is 02:50:48 still I will say I thought it was one of Adam Page's best promos I've seen he actually didn't sound like pre-rehearsed as bad and I guess if there was ever a case where that would be appropriate, it's him talking about swerve,
Starting point is 02:51:05 because that is one of the weird love stories in AEW history. Oh, one of the weirdest love stories in AEW history is going to be the interaction between Jacksonville and Kukamunga, I think. So now some random observations before we get to the next major fiasco. Now is picking United Empire members. He's already got his friend Francisco, who looks like a 12-year-old kid wearing a fake beard at Halloween. And now he has invited Hong Kong Foui to be in his group. The World Heavyweight Champion, the most marketable fucking baby face they've got at this point,
Starting point is 02:51:53 is now assembling a group of the least intimidating, softest, tiniest children in pro wrestling to back him up. What the fuck? They had a Continental Eliminator match. Brian of John Moxley wrestled Desmond Tutu of the Rascals. And Moxley came in from the front parking lot where there was nobody out there. At least they had some people waiting for him once he got in the door. but what is his gimmick he's a vagrant
Starting point is 02:52:37 that dresses in the viaduct? Where did he come from? He's obviously coming from, there's a car or nothing else for miles. He comes from his car? And it makes a little more sense, although it still doesn't make any sense when you just see him coming from like some part of the arena
Starting point is 02:52:55 where him and his gang are obviously doing calisthenics or whatever the hell they do. But when all of a sudden we've seen several times where they've come from outside. One time, it looked like they were in an empty city. One time it was daytime. Just the middle of the day, you see one of these guys walking down the street dressed like that.
Starting point is 02:53:15 The neighborhood was my favorite. The neighborhood was just like in a neighborhood and a guy had like a privacy fence behind his trampoline next to the arena. I just loved that when Moxley concocted this whole like badass persona gimmick. Part of it was, and I come in from outside. Like what the fuck?
Starting point is 02:53:35 You know? Like I don't understand that part of it. I have to come in from outside. I can't be in the locker room with everyone else. Even my guys, they have to wait for me. Well, because he's only, he's dressing in a fucking like a Honda Civic. There's not room for all those guys. All right, that took 14 minutes of TV time.
Starting point is 02:53:54 We talked about Darby and Sting Jr.'s promo with Edge. When we were, earlier in a show, we were discussed. guessing Alvarez and Uncle Dave having a meltdown about the thing, but it was a backstage, fairly inoffensive piece of business. They had the live interview with the three teams that are involved in what they are trying to sell a bill of goods as who's the greatest tag team of all time. The Hartley Boys, FTR, and Edge and Christian, the kookamonga kids come out it's still the same thing they play the music they do the pose they blow money in the air and that
Starting point is 02:54:39 they ought to be burning the money if they really wanted to show the buck's trademark with money but they haven't drawn any in a long time but they blow the fake money from the cannon and the crowd sits there and nfTR came out and boy i thought the crowd was ambivalent of about to buckaroos until if there was not music playing, you could goddamn speak to people on the other side of the arena. Now, they've just buried them.
Starting point is 02:55:10 I saw people pointing and laughing. You think it's the gas station that tire or? It's just everything. It's what they've done, what they've said, and what they now look like and what their track record has been. And then they play edge music and it gets a good initial pop
Starting point is 02:55:30 but because it's him and Cage, they got to have different music. Edge comes part of the way out. They bring that music down. And they settle down when Cage's music plays because he's a fucking heel. That's the gimmick that he's a heel demon with a baby face. They spoke,
Starting point is 02:55:48 and I'm just going to ask, does Nick, little Nikki, does he have a disability? Because he spoke and it sounded like maybe, has he, do they still do shock treatments on psychiatric patients, California.
Starting point is 02:56:04 Oh, I don't know, but that would explain the hairline. A variety of them. The clues are starting to come together. And they all just nattered back and forth. The fans want Edge and Christian to retain the thing. They don't want either of these teams to beat them. And they did some comedy with Edge cutting Christian off from talking about their mothers and then Edge fired up, tried to sell this thing, but got bleeped.
Starting point is 02:56:31 and said that none of them can do anything to me and Christian that hadn't been done already. And then old pieface buck had to jump in and remind everybody that Edg Christian are as old as the hills with his line. It's not 1999 anymore. When you're talking about the previous fucking century, it might be time to put a stop to specificity on the dates.
Starting point is 02:57:01 And then they got nose to nose, then they turned around and both beat up FTR, and then they fought each other. But the Buccaroos went to give cash a spiked tombstone off a ladder onto the floor, but security broke it up. So little Nikki jumped off the ladder onto the security guards, and Edge and Christian beat a couple of them up and gave the concerto to the security guard. And nobody cared. Nope. What did you think of the line? Because it got a lot of play online where Matt Buck,
Starting point is 02:57:39 the one who stutters a lot when he tries to talk, when he said that FTR are just the Dudleys in this situation. But that was an insult. That was the insult of it. Because the original three-way ladder match was Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boys, and the Dudleys.
Starting point is 02:57:59 And it's no sense. secret that the little buckaroos have that's why I call them the heartley boys because they have had this fantasy in their heads that they're the second coming or the new generation hardy boys and they ain't and haven't been edge and christian are actually edge and christian 30 years older and honestly with these successful careers that the dudleys have after these ladder matches versus the checkered careers that both Hardys have had and the fucking highly successful careers at Edge of Christian. I have to retire from for a long period of time.
Starting point is 02:58:50 You know, I don't think that being the Dudleys is the goddamn dog team in that equation. But yeah, so that's what they were trying to do. but, you know, the Dudleys did pretty fucking well. The Dudleys did a lot better than the fucking Hardley boys here, to be quite honest. But I guess the other point is, how is that supposed to play with the average fan? Are we supposed to believe the average AEW viewer would understand that that? Because why wouldn't you scratch your head? No, it's all for them.
Starting point is 02:59:22 It's all for them. Yeah. It's to be cute for them and for each other. And so that, oh, we better not chowse with the buckaroos. they'll blister us. They're witty. Anyhow, moving along, speaking of moving along, Tomaso, my boy, Tomaso,
Starting point is 02:59:41 I used to like to watch him. They booked him with Johnny Doyle. I thought Tomaso was a heel. Last we checked, he was the psycho killer. But Doyle's a heel, but he's a member of the group, the heel group that Okada is in, and that's who Tomaso is.
Starting point is 03:00:01 was wrestling at the pay-per-view. So, yeah, so he's got to beat one of Callis's endless supply of middle card heels, which he did. Who never win. Never win. And then he called old old boring out, and here came Blando, with the suit and a sappy hair. He forgot to bring his personality.
Starting point is 03:00:26 And said, no, he ain't going to do it tonight at all. He said, this is what, he said and all out you'll get you what you want and he and will show the world you're not on my level you're not on my level bitch they called each other bitches that was this fucking guy is a charisma vacuum okada is there is nothing nothing there you can almost see through him he's so plain then they had a girls match then osprey and his new friends spitball, wrestled Gabe and Claudio.
Starting point is 03:01:10 Again, the same, some combination of the boar horsemen every week. And Osprey and Hong Kong, Fooey came out dressed like their favorite video game characters, themselves. You know that's what this is about.
Starting point is 03:01:27 Look at the fucking outfit on both of them. They think they're one of these video game characters, and now they've got a fucking billionaire Mark paying them enough money to hire people to make these costumes. Jesus Christ, either that or it. Bailey's may have been just a mini skirt from his daytime job waitressing at Hooters. I don't know.
Starting point is 03:01:57 I think Gabe Sapolsky could whip Gabe Kitt, be quite honestly. And the plumber was on color and Steamboat's daughter was in the match, So I fast forwarded to the finish, which was right at 10 o'clock. And then, oh, God, Osprey was going to talk. And he's a baby face and he's grateful for the fans and the boys and the girls in the back. He's honored to be your world heavyweight champion. But as long as AEW has been alive, so is John Moxley. So Moxley's seven years old.
Starting point is 03:02:35 And I say to Moxley, I'm thinking, Here we go. Sell this fucking match, you British twit. I say to Moxley, thank you. Thank you for the guidance, for being the ace, for breaking me and making me the man I am today. What the fuck? And he droned on and did nothing to sell the fucking match,
Starting point is 03:03:08 he's basically groveling before. The guy that was his mentor, have you ever seen anything like this? He's bad on the mic in general. And whenever he has a good moment on a mic, he usually spoils it by speaking another 10 minutes and losing the crowd. But I'm just sick of this in general. It's not limited to Will Osprey. It's another version of, you know, I want you at your best. Thank you for crippling me.
Starting point is 03:03:39 Just, I don't know. I don't like a lot of the... stuff. I don't, Will Osprey's a horrible promo. It's not to say he flubs his words. It's just. It's, he says the wrong things. Yeah. He says it's the words. He speaks the words he's meaning to speak. He just shouldn't. And then Moxley slowly rose and slowly he turned. Step by step he sauntered into the ring while the fans lightly saying, ole, oh le, ole, ole, o'le, o'le, in the background.
Starting point is 03:04:12 And he looks at Osprey and he says, now that you're, I'm in the ring and you're looking at me in the rig or whatever, do you feel like the champion? And he makes that stupid kind of sideways puppy dog mope-faced expression. And then Gabe Kidd comes from behind. But Osprey sees him and ducks him and Gabe Kidd pulls up short in front of Moxley going, whoa, I didn't hit you. Yay, I'll turn around.
Starting point is 03:04:40 and Osprey will hit him and Osprey levels kid and then they stared at each other Osprey and Moxley and Osprey the question was asked do you feel like the champion and he's supposed to say
Starting point is 03:04:56 you're damn fucking or you're damn right I do but he says you're damn fucking right I do and they aired fuck and muted ingright I do so he basically said you're damn fuck And that was the finale of the interview,
Starting point is 03:05:14 your damn fuck. Did he just call me a damn fuck? And they were already into the second, the overrun of the thing, and they had another more than an hour to go. And I said, no, I'm done here at this point. But I just, what? I got into a little bit of the next hour,
Starting point is 03:05:34 and it started with Jack Perry doing like one of his backstage promos about Shabbata. I was like, oh, no. The A team for AEW action has ended. I'm done with a collision. Well, that was that, young man, and I guess we're going to come back on your show and tell the people how all this stuff worked out
Starting point is 03:05:57 at all gone or all out. That's right. We'll have all out on the drive-through. We will probably not have worlds collide. I know you said you wanted to at least watch the main event. Apparently they're taping it. I saw that. But they're not putting it on YouTube
Starting point is 03:06:12 until Wednesday. The commentators aren't even being brought in. It's all going to be done post-production. So they just ran this show against AEW to fuck with them. AEW suffered the consequences. They sold out their arena. So they're fine. And then they're not even airing it live.
Starting point is 03:06:30 Well, what did they get at the, what used to be the Rosemont Horizon? What is it now? The Allstate Arena. They got 12,000. tickets out for that so wish I could rib people like that
Starting point is 03:06:45 could WWE have drawn that house or is this specific to it being AAA in one of the hottest markets for Lucha Libre in the United States? You know this is CM Punk on a show in Chicago plus others that's why they did this we will be discussing a good deal of that
Starting point is 03:07:03 in the coming days hey you know this is a hell of an episode of Gunsmoke on right now Matt Dillon got shot got amnesia and now he's in love with the mom from the Walton's who is underrated for being... Miss Michael learned That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 03:07:19 Well, in that case, I need to get off here so that I can fucking jump onto Me TV and follow this action. But folks, we'll be back on the drive-through to talk about this and back on the experience next week and y'all know what to do in the meantime and thank you and fuck you and bye-bye, everybody.
Starting point is 03:07:39 Yeah.
