Hawaiian Brian the podcasting Lion,
The King of the Arcadian Vanguard podcast network
Mr. Co-host to you
he's even higher than I am so he's got further to fall.
Be great, Brian last, everybody.
You want to get high?
Aloha, Jim.
A pleasure to be here once again for an injury packed and illegal packed and maybe a little bit of wrestling too.
But there's all these other things happening, the more interesting things around the world of wrestling.
I hope that nobody thinks that I'm going to take anything that's happened in the wrestling business or anywhere else this.
past week very seriously today because what in the world but you know i dare one of the creative
geniuses out there in our audience that in the cult of cornet the the video people the the people
that make the music and the things that make the world go around put together it doesn't just have to be
a ewe it could be w w don't put the fucking real outlaw bullshit in because it'll
detract from the look of the video,
put a video together
of all these dumb shits
in balconies and on a top of ladders
and falling off and diving off of things.
I'm high, I can't come down
ever since you came around.
I'm how and your love, baby.
They love. They love
diving off the things
and falling on the things and
through the things and then the pudding pop
and there you go. Have you ever thought
maybe it's collusion.
And what I mean is...
No, that's the Saturday Night show.
No, that is not what I'm talking about.
What I mean is,
Triple H obviously saw Ring of Honor
as a thing that had a fan base
and went after all of its talent years ago.
Went after the Indies and filled
NXT with anyone who was
getting any traction and looking for money
on the Indies.
What if him and Tony got together and said,
you know, let's put botchamania out of business.
We'll just...
We'll load up our shows with botches.
it will overwhelm botchamedia will corner the market.
They continue to publish it.
They don't even know what the botches are anymore.
They got the people that somebody in the WWE of all people,
the supposed professional organization,
tweet, I don't know who these people were,
but is an NXT girls match thing.
And they tweeted the actual WWE official account
tweeted a botched finish.
And so one of the fans said,
my God, the territories used to go to great lengths
to edit this shit out if they could or cover it up.
And now the official Twitter puts it on their fucking page.
They just, it was like a monkey fucking a football,
whatever they were trying to do.
But they don't, you can't tell anymore.
Because you don't know what they're trying to do anyway most of the time.
So how can we tell when they fuck it up?
You know, the other day I watched a silent film
of Gus Sondonberg versus
Bronco Nogersky and I enjoyed the shit
out of it.
Especially because it was silent.
So many people make so much noise
in today's environment.
You're waiting to see what happens and then
when Sondonberg starts hitting those
flying tackles, you're like, oh man,
which is more like a head butt to the belly.
I don't know if you ever saw the way you were...
Oh, yeah. Well, see, that's the thing
is that when nothing like that
had ever been done before, it didn't really
have to look good and he was a football
guy. So they're, okay, well, that's what it looks like when you football tackle somebody without
the fucking pads in the helmet. Him against Nogerski, it was kind of like the first football guy
versus the latest football guy. It would be like Joe Namath versus how long has it been
since he played any football? Let me give you a name of a football player. It would be, I know
football players. I can see them in my mind. They got the helmet on and the shoulder.
or pads. Who plays football these days, Brian?
There's the Bears and the Cubs. I'm talking about an individual name of a son of a bitch in
the NFL today. Give me one. Patrick Mahomes. I thought he was a basketball player.
No, his dad was a baseball player for the New York Mets, but he's a quarterback. Oh, I think about
Patrick Ewing. He played basketball, didn't he? For the New York Knicks. I mean, I like the way
this is going. There you go. Well, see, we're always circling around New York.
York.
We've hit the jets, the Mets,
and the Knicks.
Everything circles New York,
just like everything circles right before it goes down the drain.
So anyway, I got some paperwork here.
Yeah, well, there you go.
He built the thing whether the people wanted it built or not.
Can I just recognize a few of the people?
You better recognize.
I'd like to acknowledge a few of the people that have done things and said things
lately. Duke from San Diego, based on the conversation, Brian, that you and I had about this
lunatic fucking, the prank caller that I saw the documentary on, don't pick up the phone,
right, and on streaming where that this prank caller was calling these fast food places
and having the manager on the theory that they were police officers calling,
do bizarre illegal things to their employees.
Look it up on a YouTube channel, folks,
our talk on that,
if you want to hear more of it,
because it's long and ridiculous.
And it was true.
And Duke sent me a video of compliance.
They made a movie about this called compliance.
And I have not had a chance to see it yet
because I've been busy with puppy padding
and poop scooping,
but he sent me one
and I'm gonna watch it,
and I appreciate it.
Thank you, Duke.
But they're making movies of this shit.
Because you've been busy with puppy patting?
Puppy patting.
Puppy petting, patting.
Puppy patting and poopie scooping.
Can't watch this movie?
I'm over here, puppy patting.
Well, they're rambunctious.
You got to, I get on my hands and knees
and follow them around the floor.
They're trying to get away from me,
but I keep catching them.
Maybe because it's Halloween time,
we've had a renewed batch of requests
for you to watch Monster Squad,
which I'm certain you were sent on DVD
at some point, at some time.
I think I got about four or five of them now.
It's a big Monster Squad sale at Cornets Collectibles.
Yeah, they'll be autographed copies
from all your favorite monsters.
I got to do that for the Halloween season.
I'll jot that down right here, here.
You hear that?
I popped my pen.
You popped it back, though.
It sounds like you just opened it in.
Well, I was making sure you heard it the first time.
I'll pop it back.
There you go.
I'm jotting now.
Jot, jot, jot, jot, jod.
All right.
But, well, now this is a horrible transition,
but I got to recognize Jeff from Milan, Michigan,
who lost his 16-year-old English Shepherd Lambo.
Not long ago.
This was a week or so ago.
His very beautiful boy, he said,
and he's going to remember all the times
that they sat and listened to our shows, Brian, you and I,
and the hardships, joy, setbacks, and triumphs that they shared together.
And he said it would mean a lot to me if you could say a little something
as you've done so many times for so many other pets and their people.
Just knowing someone out there cares
makes the pain just a little more bearable.
And Jeff, we're sorry to hear
about but 16 years old he lived a good long
English shepherd life
how much did it cost to get a bunch of that
many English people in a group for him to shepherd them all those years
did you have to fly them over we're very sorry
what about putting them up we're very sorry for your law
well I'm not to be serious here we're very sorry for your loss Jeff
I'm just trying to you know look on the at least the
realistic side of this whole thing he put a lot of money in Lambeau
and we appreciate it.
Are there still a lot of working shepherds?
Well, no, most of them are shooters.
They mean every goddamn bit of it.
If they get out of line,
they will yank your fucking wool out of your fucking knot.
Those shepherds.
Anyway, Jeff Sharky,
who apparently knows everything,
do you think he's like really Eddie Sharky's father
or something. He's been around since the fucking 20s.
His father? You think he's the father? Is any Sharky still alive?
That's what I'm saying. Jeff Sharkey's got to be 127.
He's clarifying and verifying for us. A couple of the points on the latest
guest the program segment where he knows more than we do. This is why he's writing in.
remember when you
the Olympic Auditorium card
from the 1950s had Tom
Rice on the card
and I was saying wait a minute
why am I thinking
and I knew there was something wrong with my
thinking but I was thinking
that he was a politician in Alabama
and that was Tom Drake
Drake everybody loves the Tom
Drake is what we were looking for
and he actually
Jeff sent photos
of Tom Drake in 2007 with Bern Ganya
and a picture of his business card coin
that he would give out during his post-wrestling career.
And remember when I popped when you said
Hans Schmidt versus Guy LaRose in a,
I can't remember where the show was from now,
but I popped on that.
It was in Charlotte.
Because I said Guy LaRose was Han Schmidt's real.
name. So what were they were trying to rib somebody, right? Well, turns out the wrestler using
LaRose as a ring name had previously worked regularly under the name and you will remember this
and I'm not sure I'm going to pronounce it right, but Ovella Acelan. Do you remember seeing that in
the 40s and 50s on cards? Oveila Acelan. I have always would. Yeah, and I never knew how to pronounce it.
My mind's eye would see Oliver assassin, and I just couldn't.
But he only started using Gaila Rose once Hans Schmidt became prolific and established.
He apparently, well, Aselin used the Hans Schmidt name,
but I think he's saying the Gaila Rose name, mainly from 1954 to 1962,
and eventually returned to using Ascelon at the tail end of his career.
at the ass end of his career
at the assal end of his career
he became an asselin again
being an assal in again is in again
all righty
you know here's something that we have spoken about
Brian that really grinds
our gears you and I
and it's just so bullshit and fake
when the security guards
the security guards come out
that all look like 20, 25-year-old indie wrestlers with man buns and, you know,
some type of, they're trying to dress down in all black,
but they have some type of odd look to most of them.
And there's no, there's no 45-year-old fucking pot-bellied Andy Frane Rinnocopps,
like back in the arena days in the 70s and 80s.
and they're all these young fucking similar-looking guys
and they stand in the stance
where they come out and they put their hands up
and they do the whole thing where they freeze
and they're shaking their heads and nobody's saying a thing right
but that's we talk about this all the time.
Yeah.
Well, we have from Matt from West Yorkshire
and see now he you know he has the english the british perspective on this but he said
brian and jim why the fuck did your name come first well now his credibility has been called
into question brian and jim i was listening to your feedback on the vehicular assault angle
with jacob fatu and your question about why security
stand with their hands in that odd open palms position caught my ear.
The short version is, it's a standard de-escalation stance.
The open-hand technique taught in law enforcement, security work, and conflict management,
serves a few purposes.
Would you like to hear these purposes, purposes?
Yeah, I want to hear as justification, yes.
Well, justified, the non-threatening posture.
Open palms show you're not holding a weapon and aren't about to swing which lowers tension.
Faster reaction time.
Open hands let you grab, block, or redirect quicker than starting from a closed fist.
Professional optics.
It signals control.
rather than aggression, keeping things calm while still being ready to intervene.
Do any, Brian, first of all, before I talk about this, and thank you, Matt.
Well, he says, in other words, they're trying to look peaceful while staying prepared,
even if in wrestling it rarely work.
These are fucking wrestling students.
These are not trained security guards using some protocol to de-escalate the working situation.
These are kids who don't know what to do.
These are the fucking guys that are running a Ferris wheel at the County Fair.
You better not get on.
Matt, we appreciate your comments here.
And you are correct.
And if they might have any of these people been to a law enforcement seminar or whatever,
they might have learned these techniques.
But we're not talking about any of these things.
If performed as you delineated might suggest that they,
would look, that wouldn't be too bad, but these dumb shits are just coming out there and
holding their hands up like they're being held at gunpoint robbed of their fucking wallets
with a blank look on their face, not trying to de-escalate a speak in any way,
he just maybe shaking their heads while going, no, no, no, like they're speaking to a goddamn
angry group of German shepherds while their feet are planted,
stock still because they look petrified, almost like they're frozen in amber and ready to be
sent to the Phantom Zone.
And by the way, how does that apply to a group setting?
You know, one-on-one, I could see that being a legit thing.
One hand up, no weapon, he's not going to hit me.
We get like seven guys and they're all coming at you, charging at you.
The hands are their hands at it.
It's like, I'm coming for you, Barbara.
There's seven fucking guys.
with wide eyes and their hands out.
What in the world?
Oh, God, no, it's the, just, they just obviously look like,
no, we're just here to be slaughtered.
And then when you attack one of us,
we're going to stay planted in the exact same position
until it's our turn to run at you and be smoteed.
Yeah, what technique is that?
That's the way you don't want to make the apprehension
or de-escalation an unfastation,
an unfair fight, so you only bum rush the guy one bum at a time?
That's what...
You see why sometimes I don't want to just take things seriously anymore?
Yeah, well, I mean, I'm glad we have fans seriously evaluating the security techniques
of the local indie talent, wherever they go.
I'm taking a sip of sprite.
I doubled up on the Zyrtec, Brian.
doubled up today because
well no
I got to because it went from
85 and high humidity and raining
two days ago to now it's 55
and fucking rain
cold rain with no humidity
I've taken a steam bath and gone directly
into a cold shower
and so
I'm trying to
I'm trying to stay clog free
you know who I got
an email from. You'll never
guess, Brian, in a million years,
the number one resident of
Blue Springs, Missouri himself,
Jim Russell,
the owner, but not
necessarily the brains behind,
the pizza place.
Over there at 1711, South Route 7
in Blue Springs, Missouri. Have you heard
from Jim lately? I have not. I know
we post on the Colt of Cornet Facebook group,
but hello, Jim.
Well, he's,
We mentioned him or his fine establishment there with the variety of custom crafted pizzas.
One of the people's questions on the drive-through was about the Valiant Brothers,
and we mentioned that that was Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was right near Blue Springs, Missouri.
And son of a gun, a guy called up and he, he, fucking, I don't guess he bought anything.
thing. Well, no, maybe he didn't. But nevertheless, the guy, but the guy was, was close there.
But the point is, Jim Russell says that his wife, who is the real brains behind the operation,
guess what she's gone from saying to what she's gone to say it?
Go back to the restaurant. I'm sick of you.
No, no, they both live there in the back.
They, they both live in the back together. And that way they're discouraged.
Well, they're not open 24 hours, but that way they can discourage somebody from breaking in and stealing a secret pizza recipe.
So one of them sleeps next to the pizza oven while the other one takes a shift on guard with a goddamn pizza cutter in case anybody tries to break in.
Why would you keep the secret pizza pizza pizza?
Why would you keep the secret pizza recipes on site?
So that they can know how to make the fucking pizza.
What are you going to?
You're going to make it in their fucking house and bring it over?
If it's them making it, they know the recipe.
Hide the secret recipe.
Put it in the safe somewhere.
Well, nobody said that Jim was the smartest son of a bitch
that ever owned a pizza place.
But nevertheless...
You have been talking to his wife.
His wife has gone from saying,
who the fuck is Jim Cornett?
And why are we giving out free shit?
To maybe we should send Jim and Brian some free shit to say thank you.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
So, you know, she is the brains of the operation from everybody's, you know,
fucking ascertaination of the thing.
So.
I will say if we, because Jim has posted, like I said before, in a cult of Quernet
Group, and I've been joking, a very, very nice guy.
But he has apparently added things to the menu named after you and named after me.
Once there's a physical menu of that, that I would want.
So putting that out there to...
A physical menu.
what is the menu going to push you around
when you go in his fucking restaurant?
How aggressive are the menus these days?
I mean, if they just, like, print out a piece of paper
and put it on the table, I don't know if I want that,
but if it's something it actually has a crease in it.
Oh, what kind of fucking greasy spoon?
Like a cardboard-ish stand-up crease?
A stand-up? Maybe a six-foot cardboard stand-up
in a corner with a picture of you holding your fucking meager cheese pizza.
Trying to sell that to fucking Blue Springs, Missouri.
No, what do you mean?
This is not some goddamn greasy.
Easy Spoon Diner operation where they've got the fucking blue plate special jotted down on a
goddamn napkin sitting on the table.
They have menus of things.
And just so you know, I've talked to Jim, and he is considering adding a French toast
option of some sort to the menu.
That was one of my asks when he said he wanted them to name something after me on the menu.
So in place of the toast will be pizza dough.
I don't know how it works.
I don't want to get into a secret recipe.
That's something a...
Well, he'll slice a...
He'll slice a shit out of you from asshole to appetite
if you try to steal that pizza recipe.
Anyway, that's the pizza place down there in Blue Springs, Missouri,
where don't go in after hours or you'll get cut, motherfucker.
Here is an email I wanted to read because this brings up something.
I'm not sure what, but people have asked about a variety of things
of this in the past. So this might answer several questions at once, because they come from all over
the country. But this is from Stephanie, which also proves that we have female listeners. Mr. Cornett and
polite female listeners at that. My brother and I have been in the midst of a years long debate about
a topic and you're the best possible source to help me go, ha, ha, ha, ha, you're wrong to him at
Thanksgiving. When we were growing up in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, we used to watch a
wrestling block on a low power station called WPEN. This wrestling block included the USWA, ECW and Smoggy
Mountain. It was my belief that these tapes were not legitimately acquired from the promotions,
but were instead bootlegged as shows were often weeks behind with USWA shows, sometimes being up to
three months behind.
My brother and sister
they were legitimate and that you
can't air something without the right to it.
After years of this
silly debate between brother and sister,
I turned to someone who would definitely know
you, because you would have known
if Smoggy Mountain was running TV
in the Norfolk Hampton area.
And so basically
also if my theory
is right, how common of a practice
was this in the days of television
syndication where independent or low power stations with unscrupulous morals would just bootleg
innocent wrestling shows for fun and profit.
Thank you for any assistance, all the best, Stephanie.
Let me answer that last one first.
There were almost no TV stations that would just get a wrestling show under unscrupulous means
and run it to make money back in those days because there was so far.
few TV stations, it was hard to get one if you were dealing with them up front and in their town
every week, right?
For fun and profit.
Now overseas is a different animal.
As we've recounted many times, Brian, on emails, different things that people have sent in.
Tapes ran in overseas markets, just like American wrestling was, you know, one of the most popular
American things because you didn't really need to speak American.
But also there was in the 60s, 70s, and 80s in the international TV market was the Wild West.
If you could get a tape, you might run it in Bolivia somewhere, right?
But not in this country during the territory days of wrestling.
But I'm sorry to say, Stephanie, that you can't say, ha, ha, ha, ha to your brother.
You didn't mention your brother's name.
I see brother, brother, brother, brother, whatever.
Okay, brother, Shane.
John, brother Shane.
Good Lord, she still doesn't know this about the wrestling business.
No.
They were legitimate, and I could explain why USWA was behind and et cetera,
but it was with the USWA and Smoggy Mountain Wrestling,
it was Bill Barron's, who I've talked about before was a television syndicator
that also to this day agents and,
books out numerous guys on the independent circuit, etc.
And was assisting a variety of the promotions in those days with trying to get some type of revenue.
And the key to this was a low power station in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
There were networks, and I use that term almost, fuck it, it's a glorification, but there were companies.
one was America One network, one was Channel America,
that fed programming to these little bitty, low-power TV stations
in markets all across the country.
Because they couldn't afford their own, you know,
they might have somebody, it was like a step up from local cable access.
They actually had a broadcast signal when people still got TV with an antenna
and then they were on the local cable also.
But that's like what OVW was on,
unfortunately, in its early years,
before we, you know, in 99 landed our WBKI affiliate
here in Louisville.
The low power stations, nobody watches.
And it's a, you know, if they're running a fucking old movie or something on,
and you see it on the cable guide,
maybe you click on it, but otherwise they don't really have programs that, you know,
are going to attract any viewership.
But nevertheless, Bill got us on those services so that they would send those programs out
or the program out to those low power stations.
And we ran, and I've talked about this before, the PI spots per inquiry,
where if somebody bought the 1-8-00
to buy this shit
spot and bought the
Po Peel Pocket Fisherman or whatever,
we got $5 or some shit.
And that's the famous ECW story
because they were doing the same thing,
but that's when Paul E.
He worked the Solar Flex scam
and made like thousands of dollars a month
from his employees
and or Stooges calling up and sending a Solar Flex brochure and tape out to everybody in their address book.
But nevertheless, that was legitimate.
It's just so we realized that nobody was really watching on any level to run a live event in the town
or to have a presence in the town, get sponsorships, open the market, whatever.
but at one point that's why ECW was late to the game
Smoky Mountain and the USWA and they were three months behind
just because they'd send out a goddamn tape once they were finished with it
whatever they were said oh here send them a tape they didn't care
whereas you know me I was anal we had to send one up-to-date tape every week
to Channel America and America won like that they were part of the
network in our territory.
But, you know, that way it was cost a tape and we would make a couple grand a month in the
P.I. spots. But we were on all over the place. That's why at one point, both Memphis and
Smoky Mountain had three times the homes that ECW did until they figured this out and they
still never got as many as we had, actually, because they still didn't have broadcast television
anywhere. You never did anything with Sunshine Network, right?
No. Unless they had, at some point, had like that America One deal or whatever,
but Sunshine Network had some other wrestling program from Florida, hence the name,
and I can't recall or did something else with a wrestling program.
You know, I told you about this years ago and you were, you didn't know anything about it.
And I swear I saw it. It's like my holy grail for things I
wish I had.
There was a TV guide in 1993 that listed Smoky Mountain Wrestling is airing on
Sports Channel in New York.
It was like a specific thing was like fire on a mountain.
It wasn't even like just Smokey Mountain Wrestling.
It was Smoky Mountain Fire on a Mountain, two hour block or something.
It's like, holy shit.
And it never aired.
Now this is during a period of time where you had Herb Abrams every now and then would
be on still.
and then Savaldi had his shows and a lot of those just got replayed over and over again
and eventually like in the summer of 92 he aired I think two weeks in a row perfect quality
UWF from the end of 86 and it wasn't that far away so everyone kind of looked
I dug in looked I dug in sting looked a little different and Rick Steiner wasn't as goofy
but it was incredible
and then it was back to IWCCW
but Smokey Mountain was listed
in TV Guide and I saw it.
And you said not only that but a Fire on the Mountain
show. I'm
pretty sure was either fire on the mountain and volunteer
slam but I think it was fire on the mountain.
Well,
that makes me think
that somebody
got the video because those were
two of our commercial videos
that we sold VHS tapes at the time
that we sold to the
public, the volunteer slam in Knoxville, it was each May, an homage to Charlie Daniels volunteer
jam, and fire on the mountain in Johnson City in August, which was an homage to fire on the mountain,
lightning in the air, golden in the hills and it's waiting for me there. I just never found it.
but those would have been two-hour tapes that we released,
but we never had any dealings that I'm aware of for it to be broadcast,
and it obviously wasn't, but why it was even listed.
I have no earthly idea.
Unless somebody was playing ha-ha, trying to get on sports channel to, you know,
just use a tape to have their commercials inserted in it for a local show.
I have no idea.
It was a Long Island TV guide.
I think it may have been late summer, fall of 1993, but it was definitely-
Wait a minute, Long Island?
Yeah.
Wasn't there a video store out there in that neighborhood around about that time?
It might have been fucking around.
Actually, the video store had already gone out of business by that point.
Oh, draught.
Yeah, sorry to ruin your conspiracy.
What's the-
A lot of fun with that one?
What's the statue on limitations?
on copyright infringement.
Could I got him for 33 years ago or whatever?
But anyway, that was how that happened there is what that was.
And so you technically, we were on,
and that's why Gary Waronchek when he was running the promotion there
in the Detroit area brought us up because we were on a station in Michigan.
And to be honest, I'll say this and we'll move on.
But in a few markets, there was a local,
wrestling personality
that was able to
make something out of a block for really that
the local wrestling fans were attracted to
that could subsist on
low power television because they made it a destination
thing for the local wrestling community when the
territories had gone away and nobody got to
visit each other anymore at the fucking
St. Paul Civic Center or whatever
and we would
actually there was one
I don't even know if this was a low-powered TV station.
It may have been a guy doing that out of his basement.
We never saw the operation.
But way up in, as I remember in Virginia,
I'd have to check the Smoky Mountain Files for more details.
But there was a almost to the Washington, D.C. area.
There was a local, I think it was cable access wrestling program.
The guy was so nice.
if we got anywhere near the area,
he'd drive down and shoot interviews,
and he programmed, operated and probably slept in
a local TV outlet of some description there,
and we were on channel W4K7
and whatever the fuck, Virginia,
and he was so nice, we sent him a tape every week.
And also, and I'll say this, and it will move on,
in OVW, we were we were on in London
and then they actually got a
subsidiary feed going into Lexington,
which I always wanted to get Smoky Mountain TV in Lexington, Kentucky.
London, Kentucky, for the record.
Well, that's why I've said we were on in,
we were on in Louisville and we were,
and they got a subsidiary feed in Lexington,
so we were actually on legitimate television stations,
mainly in Louisville,
the subsidiary in Lexington was a little weak.
But we had TV in London also, London, Kentucky on, what the fuck was it?
It was a TV station with three call letters.
It didn't even have four fucking call letters.
But to people in London watched it because they were in a spot where,
especially if you didn't have cable, which 20 and 25 years ago was still a thing for a lot of those people down there.
you were only around like two broadcast channels depending on your side of the holler
so we had a nice viewership in in london down there on w oz or whatever the fuck it was
you know what else has got a nice viewership brian last that is my my program
that bears my name cornet side of the ring it's my side
I don't get on other people's sides.
I don't want them to get on my side.
But the Cornette side of the ring on Vice Sports YouTube,
each Sunday at noon Eastern time,
the episode number one is at 1.2 million.
Episode 2 is at 1 million.
And episode 3, as of this point,
is at almost 900,000.
And of course, those were the various episodes on Katie VIII,
Vic, Russo putting the WCW World Title on himself,
Hokogen choking out Richard Belzer,
and that's what's up now.
And up the, well up this week, I should say,
with now when you're hearing this,
is a cacophony of Jim Hurd's foolishness
culminating with the black scorpion.
But I want the numbers.
I want the numbers to see if I'm getting bigger ratings than raw now,
because we've knocked Tony Compton,
on a side on our climb, our ascent, Brian, our climb to the top.
And now I want to see if I can knock off, as I said in the initial episode,
that big beat, son of a bitch, over there on the other side of things.
But upcoming, just so you'll know what to expect, ladies gentlemen, the Steve Austin
heel turn, which was ill-advised, CM Punk's pipe bomb promo, the WCW invasion.
that didn't take.
And the Battle of the Billionaires,
Trump versus McMahon at WrestleMania,
those premier and then exist there at Vice Sports YouTube,
Sundays at noon.
And then for all of the information,
behind these wonderful stories that I only get 11 minutes to tell,
you can hear the full-length versions
if you would like to hear more at official Jim Cornett
on on YouTube on everybody's YouTube on just on YouTube official Jim Cornett that's that's me
oh yeah hey get you know what we we need mr Lewis yes keep going
wait but he we need a record scratch no we need like the record scratch sound effect thing
so we got breaking news or I say something you can go what
whatever I said. Have I talked to you?
Have I, let me talk to you, Brian, about the fine sale going on for the holidays at Cornets Collectibles.
I will have you know, ladies gentlemen, that I just spent the past couple of days and working my fingers to the bone.
And I've signed and personalized the various, about a couple of hundred things that I handed off to Hotchka's Feather Bottom, which along with the blue fez on,
autobiography hooker, updated by Scott Teal and Crowbar Press.
Those things are flying off the shelf.
But I'm not forging Luthes' signature on to those.
So, you know, they go a little quicker.
And these photo portfolios are flying off the shelf.
They're for the birds, is what they are.
I advise everybody to go to Jimcordet.com right now
and see the fine things that are available for.
sale as well as the sale prices.
And if you buy heroes and friends, you get a behind the curtain as a stocking
stuffer for a friend, loved one or business associate for only $10.
All these things available at Jimcornette.com.
And again, the process has begun after our assembly line situation
where over the next week and two weeks, we expect to be completely caught up quicker
than ever caught up to modern day with the holiday sale at Jimcornet.com with shipping these
fine orders out, but get them before they go out of sale. If you place the order,
then you're automatically guaranteed to get the item. We just don't know how long it'll take.
Jimcornet.com.
All right. And if you're international already, who knows, who knows?
whether we'll even be allowed to send things to foreign countries soon.
So how long it'll take them to get there.
So order for Christmas unless you want Valentine's Day presents.
And then just do what you want.
At Jimcornaut.com.
Yes.
Well, don't do what you want at Jim cornet.com.
Do what I want you to do.
Whatever you want to do at Jimcornet.com.
Now wait just a fine tooth combed minute.
Go Buckwild.
with Corny at Jim Cornett.com.
You know, there used to be a radio guy here in this market that I don't think he was
local, but I think they played like daily updates from him or whatever.
Got a buck naked.
Here's buck naked with his commentary on whatever the fuck.
Speaking of strange people in strange lands doing strange things.
things, Brian.
What am I now hearing about
Fishman
is out of jail?
And I can't believe I'm about to say this,
ladies gentlemen,
Fishman is off the hook
for the murder
of El Fellow.
I can't remember El Buho.
Or Buho.
The
The referee.
And it's not Fishman, it's E. O'Dell Fishman, the son of the Fishman.
Well, he's a little guppy.
He's just a minnow.
Is that why he got off because he's not, he's not an adult yet?
He's still a minor little fishy.
The point is, they are saying that the Pile Driver, now we have information since we first heard about the thing, the day that the news was released,
the pile driver apparently he died of head trauma of some description and he wasn't he wasn't 75 he was 69 not a large difference but just the interest of correcting things that have come out and so it appears that there were still people saying that the referee didn't know he was going to get pile driven and later on i've heard it said that it was a planned spot
but he apparently dropped him on his head hard enough to kill the guy.
They arrested him.
He was in jail.
That's last we heard.
Now the news is he's out because he reached a settlement with the referee's family.
Brian, can you shed any light on this?
That's right.
And he's going to be a dual arena two against Roger Jackson in a cage.
No, we have an article here, Jim.
This is from Yahoo Sports, although it says it's by
Wealth of Geeks. I don't know where the hell this comes from.
By Maya or Mia Markovich.
Okay, automatically, you've called the origin of this into question,
and the author is obviously a fucking fictitious name,
but go ahead with these facts.
Mexican wrestler El Hiho de Fishman
has been released after reaching a reparatory
agreement with the family or referee Herardo or Gerardo Hermann Paneda, known as El Buho.
His release was announced Friday, October 9th.
Paneda died during the early hours of October 7th at an independent Lucillebrae event
at the Centro Deportivo Cultural Eleven de Julio in mineral de
De La Reforma Hidalgo.
He was officiating a match between...
It's a long building name.
I'm not sure.
I had like a fucking glimmer of a thought of a translation on the first word and then it all went to shit.
He was officiating a match between El Hijo de Fishman and Mascarra Sagrada N.G.
Authorities detained the wrestler and referred the case to the Hidalgo State Prosecutor's Office
for investigation into possible.
homicito culposo
or negligent homicide
according to El
Porvenir
wearing his mask
El Hiho de Fishman appeared alongside
a representative of the law firm
Magellan Reyes
and Associados
in a video shared by the event promoter
El Patron

Lucillebrae
The lawyer said the proceedings
against El Hijo de Fishman had concluded. La Gornada reported that the announcement did not disclose
the agreement's terms, a compensation amount, or the specific judicial resolution supporting his
release. His representatives said they planned to provide more information at a press conference
or in a statement. Under Article 186 of Mexico's National Code of Criminal Procedure,
a reparatory agreement is made between the victim or injured party and the accused.
Once approved by a prosecutor or control judge and fulfilled, it extinguishes the criminal action.
El Patron, the promotion, had previously offered legal assistance to the wrestler.
In its initial statement, the company said its legal representative was communicating with Paneda's relatives and their attorney,
It also expressed condolences and asked fans, journalists, and members of the wrestling community to avoid circulating unconfirmed claims while authorities examined the case.
Let me stop there for a moment. Any thoughts on this?
Yes, what? I don't. You can just like say, here, I'm sorry, here's a check. And it's like if you pick somebody up on a street and drop them on their head in front of a cop.
and kill them, does the family have to file a complaint before they take you to jail and charge you with murder?
I don't, how does that work?
How do you get out of that?
Just as the family's, oh, okay.
And how much was Pops worth?
How is his fish man independently wealthy?
Is he in the goddamn, you know, Atlantic cod business or whatever?
Or is this promotion?
is it some billionaire mark
instead of some outlaw fucking show
who's got the money to do all this shit?
Is there an American indie company
that would be in a position
to be able to immediately get down there
at lawyers and get the guy out like they did?
Why are you out of your, in any fucking city in this country?
You know, if somebody died
and well, actually, if somebody died in this country,
the cops think it's the fucking phony,
I don't know if anybody would go to jail.
They'd think, well, the guy just, you know,
it was an accident because it's all fake shit.
But because we said how ridiculous
what is gone on here when we first heard about it.
But once they have determined
that he picked the guy up and dropped him on his head
and he died, I would think, you know,
there's something else going on besides,
no, the family, we paid the family.
And once again, I'd like no.
who's got the money to fucking do that to where
they'd go, oh, don't worry about pops.
He was older anyway. He didn't have much longer.
Hey, here's an interesting thing in this article.
Civil Protection Officers ordered a partial closure
of the Sports Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Universal Hidalgo reported that the administrators
had failed to respond adequately to two inspections.
Municipal officers said organizers of similar events,
must apply for permits at least 15 days in advance,
allowing authorities to check safety arrangements before a show takes place.
At the time of the closure...
Wait a minute, how do you check the safety arrangements for it?
In our main event, the fucking guy with the fishy mask is going to pick up the referee and pile driving.
At the time of the closure, official said restrictions would remain
while they determined what future measures to take.
Don't let them motherfuckers pile drive the fucking senior citizen referees.
There's your measures.
What in the world are they?
El Hiro de Santo defended El Hiro de Fishman in October 8th.
Of course he did.
You know, he's fish of the same flocks flock together.
Well, he's not a fish.
He's El Hiro del Santo, the son of the most famous wrestler in Lucillebra history.
But he called what happened an accident.
TVS Teke reported that the veteran wrestler based his argument
on the risks performers face in the ring.
He recalled Silver King's death during a 2019 match against Huventud Guerrero
in London at a show El Hijo del Santo had brought to the city.
He argued that Huventud Guerrera should not be blamed for that death.
So let's stop there now that we have a defense coming from El Hijo del Santo out of nowhere.
my guess would be, you know, up until retirement, the biggest, for many years he was the biggest
independent star in Mexico, right?
Yeah.
Well, because I think he probably also did it longer than anybody else, because didn't he
at one point refuse to sign with either one of the companies because he was bigger on his
own and could do whatever he wanted, work for whoever he wanted.
And then as the decades went on, it became kind of like a stubborn thing that he'd never really did.
He did his own retirement tour and everything and never really did cooperate with the other folks.
But yeah.
Let me finish this out.
And I mean, in all seriousness, yes, this, that's why we said how would you determine if this was the United States who to even arrest in a situation like that?
is it the same situation as a as an acrobatic show in a circus or a
Cirque de Soleil Las Vegas show whatever the guy's supposed to catch me he didn't catch me
broke his neck whatever the fuck how far off is this than that but go ahead
relatives wrestlers and longtime colleagues gathered at Pachuca's municipal
cemetery on Thursday October 8th criteriao Hidalgo described members of the
local wrestling community carrying Paneda's coffin,
with performers from different generations joining the farewell.
Lugar, El Aspid, and Godzilla.
I'm sorry, but that, goddamn.
Is this going to turn into a fucking chuckles, a clown fucking episode?
I'm sorry, it got me there.
It's just, I know, but it's just, can you, can you imagine,
it's the cultural difference in the way that they look at Lugidors.
Can you imagine this in the Des Moines Register?
Go ahead.
Lugar, El Aspid, and Godzilla
were among those who raised a symbolic toast.
Recalling something Paneda enjoyed,
his children, siblings, and grandchildren shared tributes near the graveside.
El Universal Hidalgo's account described the song
Los Luchadores, playing as mourners applauded and said goodbye.
Well, there it is.
That's the, I'm assuming the last we're going to hear of all this,
unless another referee gets out of line with Fishman.
I think he's successfully got himself off the hook,
but he's probably going to have to scale back his appearances somewhat for a while,
one would think.
Could Tony bring him in as kind of like a modern-day Ox Baker,
the Lucha Ox Baker?
God.
Watch out, Rick Knox.
Yeah.
That's what I was going to say, just having to kill all
a reveries because they're one step in a grave and the other
on a banana peel anyway.
I'm sorry to make jokes.
This is a serious story.
Well, it's serious except none of it is serious
because we're talking about the fucking people
reporting on people named Fishman,
getting off for murder of people named El Brujah.
And Godzilla was a pallbearer.
I don't. What the fuck?
stop it now we've got to go to a serious topic
god zola was a pole bearer got me
oh there goes
Tokyo you talk about wrestling air
like did anyone air bootleg shows
lucha librae is probably the record for ripping
off things they have no rights to
just giving it to someone as a gimmick like godzilla
no any they've other wrestlers
you know just anything
they've just, but nevertheless, we've got serious business now to attend to, Brian.
I know this is serious business all the way around because the equivalent of the wrestling Oscars,
the Academy Awards, the Emmys, the Grammys, the Tonys, the Gummies, the Gummies,
the star ratings from Uncle Dave's wrestling observational mind on the money in the bank,
pay-per-view have come out.
And they don't
usually take as long
or take up as much space
when he writes it down because they only give us
like five matches on these
fucking premium live events
anymore. And he doesn't
gush, and I mean
that in a squirting
ejaculatory
type of sense
over these matches as much as he does
the AEW matches, but still
we've got to try to treat the promotions equally here
and give all the devils their due
and in this case maybe a double dose of it,
give them their do-do.
So I understand you are standing by
with the official star ratings
for the money in the bank over there in the WWE.
That's right, as listed or as written up
in the Wrestling Observer newsletter,
Dave Meltzer's star ratings for Money in the Bank
2026.
Of course, the show began, Jim,
with a world title match.
Roman Reins
retained the world title
defeating L.A. Knight
26 minutes, 51 seconds.
Four and a quarter stars.
You know, here's the thing about Dave now.
I think he's trying.
I think he's trying to
make the overwhelmingness of the AEW stuff less noticeable by being a good word charitable
to the WWE at this point.
And you wonder then what he sees about this and what he sees about the other stuff that makes
him think that it's comparable in the same genre.
When even if you don't like Roman Raines' pace,
this was a big money match or a big money man.
It wasn't like a Survivor Series main event,
but it was a big main event.
It was a money match on one of their premium live events
featuring one of their two or three biggest stars,
depending on how they place Cody and Punk,
their professionals
except for
LA night almost losing him on the first
power bomb and I think Roman
Raines jumped too quickly
they didn't do anything stupid or
unprofessional
so unless you didn't like the pace
of it which was I think
our biggest my biggest gripe
about the first 10 minutes or so
then
yeah okay I could see that'd be in a
four-star match, four and a half-star, but whatever the fun.
How does a, then three-way tag team,
garbage match, tables, ladders, chairs,
extravaganza with green women in AEW,
that means nothing to the card,
have an equivalent and features numerous
fucking fakery shenanigans and tomfoolery,
but they did a lot of shit.
So that's four to a half stars too.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
What is the similarity between the parameters that he's working with here?
I don't think there are any parameters for AEW.
AEDW is what he loves.
It's a wrestling style based on what Dave likes by people who read Dave their entire lives.
Period.
And Dave goes over the top for it because he's championing himself.
when he does that.
I would have gone four stars
and been okay with it for Roman versus
L.A. Knight.
But let's go to the next match, the one that a lot of people were talking about.
Tiffany Stratton.
Won the women's money in the bank match
15 minutes, 17 seconds
over Saul Ruka,
J.C. Jane, Lola Weiss,
Roxanne Perez,
or Rohn Perez, as Dave wrote here.
Roanne Perez, I guess.
well they're their family friendly now they made her take the ex out and the lash legend now wait
wait a minute okay now here was a match where there was almost well i was there almost three
serious injuries or does the does the bump where the two girls went head first backwards
upside down through the ropes to the floor does that count as one no potential serious injury or
is two. That's two. I think that's two.
Then there had to be, then
four, maybe five.
The, just the
out of control
cluster fuckingness of it, the
people falling literally on their
heads, Tiffany Stratton,
giving herself brain damage
and then getting up to win
the fucking thing because
they wouldn't have been able to figure it out what else to do
if she didn't.
This certainly would have
to be. The only way
If I was him, I could make a case.
I'm not going to rate this because these poor girls,
I'm just glad everybody's okay.
But if you were going to be hard-hearted and rate this mess,
wouldn't it be one star just because so many bad things happened?
Three and a quarter stars.
All right.
Okay.
Jim Obafemi defeated Bronson Reed, 11 minutes, 36 seconds.
three and a half stars
so wait
so the pretty much
most solid and non-boring
at least because it didn't go
27 fucking minutes or whatever
matched between
their new big star
and this fucking very good
heel who as I recall
didn't shit the bed at any point in the thing
and did a good
job of getting the point across and to finish over and Oba over, that gets about the same
rating as the previous match where four or five people almost fucking went to the hospital.
That's right.
Yes.
Okay.
Jim Liv Morgan won the women's world title in a three-way over Stephanie Vacare and
Becky Lynch, 16 minutes, 55 seconds, two and three-quarters.
Stars.
Jesus Christ!
What in the world?
Because I didn't watch this, and I've admitted that when we talked about the show,
but what could they have done to each other that was worse than what the girls in the
ladder match did?
This match was a mess.
It was sloppy.
I don't know what Becky Lidge could do in a ring anymore at this point.
And I don't know about this whole thing.
I think everyone kind of agreed that was the worst match on the show.
show. But finally, Jim, men's money in the bank. Penta. Defeated C.M. Punk. Trick Williams. Javon
Evans. Bronbreaker and Kevin Owens. 31 minutes. Fifty-three seconds. Four and a quarter stars.
Well, I mean, it's almost really unfair to judge his race.
rating on something like this as relates to wrestling matches because there wasn't any wrestling
match in this fucking thing.
Does the bump off the top of the ladder through the ambulance roof add to the rating or
does it subtract from it because it was so obviously fucking fake that he had to set the ladder
up where there's no way he could reach the thing?
and then be there forever until then he leaps off
and he flies through the gimmicked roof
and I'm not suggesting that it not be gimmicked
as I said the other day because then it would have killed him
but nobody held a gun to him and said
you must fling one of your superstars
through an ambulance roof tonight
I don't even know what to say about this
you know I've complained often that Dave should get off
Twitter and proofread the observer.
case and point. I'll just read you a couple lines here
from this. The ambulance
drove into the arena and
to ringside. Evans got out
and did a bad looking clothesline on Penta.
Evans hit a
Destino on Penta.
They were missed a lot of stuff.
They were missing a lot of stuff.
Evans used the OG cutter on Williams.
I mean, just read
it before you publish it and take out the line that you got wrong
that you corrected in the next line.
How do you not see that?
And when was, when did it become a normal thing
for part of your critique of a match to be going,
they were missing a lot of stuff,
but it ends up being four and a quarter stars.
Again, yeah, you know,
if you look at some of the matches,
he's rated really highly in AEW
and how many of them have weak-looking forearm spots.
He doesn't really care about that stuff.
It's more about the action that he likes,
but that was WWE,
money in the bank.
What would have happened if at Shytown heat in 1989 with flare and steamboat,
if steamboat had had explosive diarrhea in his trunks, do you think that would have hurt the
fucking rating that they got at the time or what, Brian?
I don't know.
Dave was ringside for that famous bout, dead center, almost like he was put there,
like the little prince of wrestling.
You have to, it's quite the visual.
And he clas.
He was the first guy clapping.
If you notice everyone around him would react to things or throw their fists in the air,
he would clap his hands, almost like it was a show for him.
Yes, and you know why he was there in that spot?
Because he was with Brad muster?
Exactly.
Because Brad muster, who was a big-time football player at the time from the area
or was playing for the team or whatever.
and Flair got Brad Muzter tickets
and one of the people that Brad Muster
brought to the front row was Dave Meltzer
who was just happy as clam to be there
all through the show.
Dead center right in the front.
You can't watch that match and not start watching Dave.
But there it is.
Those are the star ratings then and these are the star ratings now.
Well, and Brian, you know what the thing is?
is that with those star ratings there,
you listen to those star ratings
and you kind of, you save a lot of time
instead of listening to all the star ratings
of the individual matches of all the TVs and everything,
you just get the big shows.
And you kind of get a judge of how everybody's doing that.
You save some time and you condense all those little
bitty extraneous star ratings into a nice big dose of star
ratings and that's what our friends over at IM8 health are doing because let's say you want to be
healthy and you want to live long enough to to whiz on a certain person's grave site or you want to
live long enough to be able to tell a lot of people I told you so I was right all along
well you might be taking a lot of supplements but I'll tell you what sometimes you got so many
that you get the supplements all confused and mixed up or you forget to take some or you run out of some or whatever.
It's a big pain in the gluteus maximi to keep track of all these supplements.
And that's why that IAM8 is going to simplify your supplement situation seriously.
Because 16 supplements, it could 90 ingredients that benefit nine major organ systems all in.
one drink. Because you don't need a cabinet full of supplements, you just need the supplements.
And it all comes in one drink with IM8's daily ultimate essentials. And this thing is done
by leading doctors and researchers. Brian, they're leading the doctors and the researchers all
over the place on a wild goose chase because they've got the ultimate secret recipe.
95% of the people who tried this stuff for 12 weeks felt more energy, Brian.
Did you realize that?
I did.
95%.
Of course, the other 5% well, it was their time.
And from a clinical trial conducted by the San Francisco Research Institute, the
Safura, you know that IM8 built up.
and designed by these leading doctors and researchers
and co-founded by David Beckham,
who I understand is a player of some description
of a sport with a ball.
They know what they're doing.
So all you've got to do is incorporate the IM8
into your daily routine
and you will replace 16 supplements.
You will have 90 ingredients.
You will be benefiting nine of your major organ systems
with one drink and the packaging
is incredible
because they just sent me this stuff.
Remember, I didn't know what a satchet was.
Had to look up satchit.
Well, now the satchits...
We've had a lot of people get in touch about this.
It's sachet.
Well, the satchets...
They're little things of the product
that you can take on the go
instead of taking your big jar or jug
or whatever you may be sipping your corn liquor out of.
whatever the case, it's a little travel pouches of that, the satchets.
Or you can sashay on over and get your own.
It's up to you.
But that's the point is that, boom, the packaging is great.
They set us this stuff, the drink mixer that comes with it where you put your,
put your thing in the thing and you add the water and you shake it up and boom.
Stacey is already on this manifesto here because she was, she's very health
conscious now and taking a variety of supplements.
And she said, well, I can, I can do what I've been doing a whole lot easier with this shit.
She didn't know it was coming.
And she commandeered it immediately and has begun, she's sipping out of that thing like a little
sippy cup.
It's amazing.
And energy, you know, she keeps nodding off.
But when she nods off, she's on the top of the chimney on the roof of the house.
So, okay, that's not what happens.
and just like it's popular in Jim's house, Suzanne went over the moon when I got this.
She's been looking for something like this and she liked that bottle.
See, you're calling bullshit when my wife was just on the chimney, but yours is leaped all the way over the moon?
Metaphorical. It's a metaphorical moon, ladies and gentlemen, but it is a wonderful bottle that will make every woman in your life say, I want that bottle.
At the gym.
Oh, it's only a monumental moon.
every woman in your life will say I want that bottle.
Well, folks, right now, go to I.m8health.com.
That's I am the number eight health.com slash JCE.
And use the code JCE for the free welcome kit,
which comes with the five free travel satchets and 10% off your order.
JCE is the code I.m8Health.
is the place.
And free welcome kit, five free travel satchets and 10% off your order is the deal that's
going to save you a lot of money while you replace all of these supplemental supplementations
that you've been supplementing with with one big old swig of goodness and health.
Every time you just take a swig of it, you just feel healthier.
You can feel it in your bones.
And if your bones are brittle, it's probably a good idea to go ahead and drink some of this shit, too.
One more time, Jim, that healthy promo code.
J-C-E-E-8 at I-M-8Health.com.
I-M-8.
And you are eight, and we are eight, and we are all healthy.
All righty, well, now, Brian, it comes to the time of the program where we go into our legal beat section.
we have news from the police blotter in the various courtrooms across America.
And in his first case, I am surprised at this, but maybe they presented something in court that we don't know,
but they sentenced too cold Scorpio to six years in prison for this.
I don't even know if we have talked about it since it initially happened a few years back,
but he was a security guard in a convenience store,
and a guy came in who wouldn't put his cigarette out in some way or another,
they went out in the parking lot,
and Scorpio stabbed this guy, allegedly in self-defense, numerous of times.
And one would think that there was some evidence that it was a drunk or unruly customer or whatever,
that it would have gotten to that point,
but they basically said,
no, Scorpio, you shouldn't have fucked this guy up.
But he can get out sooner
on shock probation
if, I don't know what the if is.
Do you have more on this?
Yeah, I have a few things I've pulled up here
from Fightful.
Their original report over the summer,
too cold Scorpio pleads guilty
to second degree assault
and armed criminal action.
will be sentenced in October.
It was back in June
2024
that Skaggs and another man
were at Love's travel stops
where Skaggs was working as a security guard,
Skaggs being too cold Scorpio.
Yes, and though Love's stores are big
all over the mid, like Oklahoma,
Midwest area, so blah, blah, blah.
What is it? It's just a, like a gas station?
Oh, it's a huge, gas station,
convenience store, they got
deli sandwiches, it's
a big fucking big deal.
When I hear that he's working as a security guard
in the middle of the night, it loves travel stops. I thought maybe
it was like some kind of like, you know, $7
hotel room or something. No, no, no.
No, for heaven's sake,
that's Love's Travel Hotel.
It's, no, these are big
chain
you know,
outlets. Well, this was in Kansas City, Missouri.
Skaggs and the individual
got into an altercation around
3 a.m. after Skaggs told him to put out a lit cigarette. The man told authorities that he thought
his cigarette was out before he entered the building, but later admitted that it may not have been.
Skaggs claims he told the man he could not smoke inside, and the man asked him what is he
going to do about it? TMZ added the following about the physical altercation that ensued.
The guy found out what he was going to do about it.
During the scuffle, Skaggs told authorities he pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the guy in self-defense.
The wrestler said the altercation went on for several more moments, and in the squabble, he got in a few more stabs.
He got in a few more stabs, too.
That's like that interview with Kevin Sullivan after the Brian Lee angle where he said,
it was an accident.
I didn't mean to stab him 37 times.
cops say when they arrived on the scene
they found the guy who was stabbed lying on the ground
bleeding from his head
chest, buttocks, legs,
and abdomen.
They added that he was transported to a local hospital
as he was going in and out of consciousness.
According to the docs though,
investigators were able to make contact with him at the medical facility
Wow, there's that term,
later in the day.
where they say he told them Skaggs was the aggressor in the situation.
Several former ECW names have rallied around Skaggs to help fundraise his defense.
The likes of the Sandman, Bill Alfonso, and Todd Gordon contributed.
Well, certainly fine, upstanding moral turpitude characters of great backbone.
And I just, how in the world did this get this,
big and I assume if he was wearing, if he was working security, he was wearing some type of
security uniform. So the guy knows that it's a security guard. Whether he's going to put his
cigarette out or not, do you think if they hadn't gone outside that the guy was going to
jump a uniformed security guard that I haven't seen Scorpio lately, but used to wait 236,
something, pound, whatever.
In the middle of store on all the security,
he wasn't tall, but he was big.
But in the middle of store with all security cameras,
that's going to become a fight.
We talked about de-escalation processes
earlier in the program here.
If they hadn't gone outside,
I don't think, you know,
that he would have been comfortable fighting a fucking security guard.
And if he didn't have anything on him,
how is two cold Scorpio,
a former wrestler of size,
going to fucking clav?
Yeah, I had to pull out my knife
and stab him in self-defense
when he was bare-handed.
And if he was drunk
or that unruly,
then they could have called the cops on him
and they've got it on camera
if he caused a stir in the,
in the fire,
or got violent with anybody in the store,
then Scorpio could have probably got to
way with doing whatever the fuck.
But I think he kind of opened himself up to this, didn't he?
Just because what are you going to do about?
I'll show you what I'm going to do about it.
Come out here and I'm going to fucking fuck you up.
I don't know why he didn't go for the 450.
He couldn't get balanced on that fucking pole they put in front of the door of the convenience
places.
Well, let's go now to the latest article from Fightful, and we're called the Frightful,
from Fightful by Jeremy Lambert.
Two Cold Scorpio sentenced.
Two Cold Scorpio, real name Charles Skaggs,
has been sentenced to six years in prison
after pleading guilty on charges of assault
second degree, as well as armed criminal action.
The court ruled that Scorpio has an immediate chance
to earn probation after completing an intensive
120-day program.
Here's a quote.
Instead of serving the entire sentence, a defendant can be sent to a specific DOC facility
to complete an intensive, highly structured, boot camp-style program designed to deliver a shock to the offender.
What the fuck are they going to make you dig ditches and fucking work road crew?
Upon completion of the 120 days, the Department of Corrections submits a report
and recommendation to the court
regarding the defendant's conduct and progress.
If successful,
the court can grant probation,
releasing scags from prison
to serve the remainder of his six-year term
under supervision in the community.
If unsuccessful,
he'll stab everyone!
If unsuccessful,
the judge can deny probation,
which would require scags to serve out the remainder
of his full six-year prison sentence.
Jesus Christ.
Well, let's hope he's a model prisoner
in this fucking boot camp
where they'll have him working on a chain gang
or whatever the fuck.
All right.
Yeah, what could, you know, 120 days to shock?
What are you going to do to shock Scorpio?
What is he 60 years old?
Yeah, he closed it in, I think, like 58, 59,
and I mean, how are you going to shock two cold Scorpio?
He's seen some things.
He was at the travel lodge.
What are you going to do?
Yeah, but there sounds like they're going to work him until he drops to get even somehow.
Well, you know, that's a case, Brian, that's in the criminal courts right now.
And it's, you know, there's a lot of repercussions that can come with that with containment and detainment and confinement and refinement and all that stuff.
But then there's what you call your civil cases, your civil courtroom,
where Judge Judy could be involved somehow.
You never know with these fucking civil cases.
But apparently a Cook County, Illinois, that's Chicago, sheriff, member of the sheriff's department,
is now suing Montez Ford in court for an unwanted lap.
dance from the raw
that occurred
back in July there
at the Rosemont Harrah, formerly known as
the Rosemont Horaz.
This is actually a
legitimately thing that's a legitimately
thing. See, I'm so
shocked.
This is
this is actually a legitimate thing that
this fat fucking
sheriff's deputy with no sense
of humor is doing
in court. Taking up
time because when he was sitting there as one of the security guards they use for the real ones
like we've said they use fat dumpy 40 year old fucking deputy sheriffs and etc and he was sitting
there at the rig and montez ford came over and it was on raw he was doing the lap dance and
thrusting his his cockle fucking equipment near the
the guy and flummoxing his belt and everything and doing the sexy time dance.
And this guy, I saw the clip.
I didn't see it when it happened, obviously.
It was on raw.
But now that the clip is going around,
you can tell this guy wants to kill my,
if he had a gun in his hand,
he would have shot Montez Ford.
It looks from the,
from the look of not even amusement or entertainment or entertainment,
but just like, oh God, here I am as part of the show now, but just the complete disgust.
He's obviously homophobic in some respect, even though it's...
We don't even have to say that. Montez-Ford did do it for a long time.
It didn't stop.
It's not even his gimmick.
It's not like Adrian Street came over and tickled this guy on the taint, touched him up
the ass.
The Montes Ford was doing that because the guy's face was obviously like, you motherfucker,
get your dick out of my face.
Well, here, here's some more dick in your face.
Has he done this before?
You that fuck?
Where he does the pelvic thrust at security guards,
and I haven't seen this?
I don't know and don't really care.
I just like that he did it this time.
But for whatever, do you have the complaint, though,
that this fucking goof,
again, talk about nuisance lawsuits
and exaggeration and outright bullshit going on.
in a lawsuit, this has to take the cake.
The guy, again, was sitting in a chair
and Montez Ford came up and didn't sit in his lap.
I don't know, maybe this guy's never had a real lap dance either.
He didn't even touch him.
He did his fucking sexy dance and thrusted himself at the guy.
But that's my point.
Is he ever done that ever before on this show
other than when he saw this guy sitting there not amused?
possibly not.
I don't know.
I don't care.
He's sexy dance.
I mean, what?
It matters not.
He was doing it.
He's done it sometime.
It looked like he'd done that more than once.
I don't know if in public.
But anyway,
tell the people now, Brian,
what this fucking guy is claiming
that his damages were
from this 30-second interaction
at a raw taping.
And he's an unknown fucker in guys.
It's not like he's a local politician.
His face is plastered
on billboards all over town.
Well, Jim, I have an article here from Post Wrestling by Brandon Thurston.
Security Guard sues WWE Montez Ford over a lap dance on Monday Night Raw.
A Cook County Sheriff's Officer who was working off-duty security at a July episode of
WWE Monday Night Raw has sued WWE and Montez Ford, whose legal name is Kenneth Crawford,
alleging that Crawford performed an unwanted sexualized
slap dance on him during a live Netflix broadcast
and that WWE then promoted the footage on social media.
The moment was part of the Street Profits entrance
as Crawford and tag team partner Angelo Dawkins
made their way to the ring
for a match that night at the Allstate Arena,
Rosemont, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.
The security guard
Noel Lucas
filed a lawsuit on Wednesday
in the circuit court of Cook County
alleging 14 counts including assault
battery
intentional infliction of emotional distress
and violations of the Illinois
Gender Violence Act
What in the world?
That is out. This is outrageous.
He never touched him.
The name
defendants are W.W.
Crawford and the company subsidiary event services LLC.
WWE did not immediately respond to a request to provide a statement and response to the lawsuit.
As of Thursday, the current version of the July 6th raw on Netflix doesn't include the interaction
between Crawford and Lucas.
The video appears to go to a break early in the Street Profits entrance.
But the clip of the moment that's central to the case is easy to find online.
Lucas says Crawford danced towards him without warning and without his consent.
Wait a minute, without way. Look out, I'm going to dance your way.
I've never heard of that before. He danced towards me without my consent.
The video got hundreds of thousands of views, Lucas says, including on WWE and Crawford's
own social media accounts.
As a result of the attention
the clip got, the plaintiff
says, he became publicly
recognizable.
The next day, when he
reported to work at his full-time job
working at a courthouse,
he alleges that
members of the public recognized him from the
videos of the encounter that
had circulated on social media and
mocked him. No, let me
tell you what, have members of the
public mocked him. So they go,
go into a courthouse and the first thing they're going to do for whatever reason they might be
in the courthouse, they're going to start mocking one of the cops in uniform.
It was his fucking buddies.
It was people that had either been there working with him that night or seen the show
that were giving him all kinds of shit the next day and it wound him up.
I guarantee you.
Let me go back to this.
The next day when he reported to work at his full-time job working at a courthouse,
he alleges that members of the public recognized him from the videos of the encounter that had circulated on social media
and mocked him thrusting their hips in his direction
oh come on now imitating the sexual movements a guy
a guy comes into courthouse to pay a traffic ticket but he's going to twerk at one of the fucking cops
what courthouse could you get away with that right in front of the judge hey officer
you know what the fuck?
I got your fucking parking ticket right here motherfucker.
Well, once again,
they were thrusting their hips in his direction,
imitating the sexual movements.
That's a quote,
that Crawford had performed on Raw the previous night.
Lucas adds that his children
have also been mocked and ridiculed
at school because of the video.
Okay, however old his kids are, do any kids watch Raw anymore?
And if so, are they going to know what every father of every classmate in their fucking school in Cook County, Illinois?
Looks like, we're not talking fucking Wartberg here.
Well, see, that I feel bad, because you don't know if he, like, told his kids that Monday morning, hey, guess what I'm doing tonight?
I'm going to be working security on Raw.
Maybe you'll see me.
Maybe they'll put me your ringside.
And then you see him, and he's got a dick in his face.
I doubt very seriously if Dick and Face man told his kids, hey, watch me, I'm going to be security on Raw.
Because he didn't seem like he was enjoying any part of the fucking proceeding.
No, and he was stuck. He couldn't do anything. It's not like he could stand up and square up with the wrestler.
That can't happen. But anyway, back to this.
He should have punched him in a dick.
Lucas's lawsuit says he suffered humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress.
and that he continues to suffer because the video has been widely shared and remains publicly available online.
Lucas's face is readily visible in the clip,
so he also complains that WW and Crawford used his image for commercial purposes,
which he alleges violates the Illinois right of publicity act.
Here's a quote.
Like so many law enforcement officers,
Mr. Lucas works a second job in order to better provide for his children,
said Whitney Barr, an attorney for Lucas,
and a press release provided the post-wrestling.
In addition to his job for the Cook County Sheriff's Department,
Lucas also supervises a team of security guards
for the private security firm Monterey Security,
which is how he ended up working security at Raw.
according to the legal complaint
Lucas was instructed by a WWE employee
to take his position near ringside
his suit describes the moment
Crawford approached him
during the live Netflix broadcast
and by the way
an employee directing him to assume his position
or however it was phrased
is whoever was running the
building operations
for the live event that night on the WWE side
said, hey, yeah, we want a cop there, there, there, there on the corners of the ring or whatever.
Well, here's from the complaint.
Defendant Crawford then began performing a sexually provocative dance immediately in front of
and over Plaintiff Lucas, repeatedly thrusting and gyrating his hips and pelvis,
towards Plaintiff, performing a sexualized lap dance.
The filing says Crawford,
moved his body increasingly closer to Lucas,
continued the lap dance.
It was like the sword of Damocles.
Little by little, it crept closer to my neck.
The suit adds that Crawford's left inner thigh
repeatedly rubbed against a plaintiff's leg.
Oh, for fuck's sake.
Lucas is asking the court to award him
unspecified monetary damages, punitive damages,
his legal costs,
and to order that
W.W.E. and Crawford can't
use his identity.
A case management hearing
is set for December 10th,
and Lucas is represented by
Barr and Alexis Martin
of Caffarelli
and Martin Limited.
So this guy really thinks
that he's going to live on in fame
forever as being part of this major
television moment when it was one of the
boys trying to kill some time when they were
in a commercial break
by dicking around outside the ring.
Doesn't us make this a bigger thing?
I mean, I hadn't heard anything about it.
When it originally happened, I don't remember it.
And if he hadn't sued,
I don't think I would have any awareness
that there was this awkward moment.
No, because nobody else would give a shit.
And I don't think any other security guard
would have given a shit past,
but, oh, look, I'm part of the show now.
Hey, ball, whatever the fuck.
This guy did not like,
Montes Ford's penile participation in his police work.
Well, we'll see what happens.
It's an awkward thing.
Again, what was causing Montes Ford to decide to do this?
And was he looking for some kind of reaction?
He did it for a long time.
The joke ran out and it became kind of awkward, like, okay, he's kind of a fuck with his guy.
Because I think he saw the look on the guy's face
Instead of getting with the fucking happiness of the jocularity of the situation,
the guy was glowering at him.
No, you don't like it.
I'll do some more, motherfucker, because we're going a commercial break.
Whatever the fuck.
If I'm Montez's attorneys, here's my first question when the deposition starts.
Mr. Security Guard, name your friends who are gyrating their hips towards you
because we plan to interview every one of them.
Get them to say on the record that they saw you in the courthouse.
and started air-humping towards you.
Yeah, I don't know.
Hey, listen, it's like suing WCW, though.
They got a lot of money.
It's a publicly traded company.
Whether or not this has any merit,
it's probably worth a shot.
Yeah, that's what he's doing.
He's being a prick about it
and figured out a way to manufacture
a lawsuit against a company,
so he might not have to work a second job
to provide for his wife and the children.
But every once in a while,
you get one of these security guards that doesn't appreciate the attention.
But Brian, skipping over from the legal beat to the medical updates,
you brought up that, I think you said it was on the Facebook group,
but I'll let you verify that here in a second.
But basically the concept, the idea we talked about Dave's star ratings earlier on the
W.W.E. show, but the idea that Dave thinks that all the AEW matches are great,
and by extension, because Tony Kahn is, for whatever reason, a pupil of the Meltzer School of
Philosophy, Tony Kahn is all about having these great matches. That's all AEW needs to just have
great matches. Despite the fact that
great being debatable and subject to the eye
of the beholder, as we said here, I think on the last
drive-through, we were talking about it. Where are the great
matches? It's singers singing loudly.
The great matches are the reason why that
AW will be always in large part
a vanity project by a kid with a lot of good intentions and a ton of money
because they can't even WWE is approaching this territory
but they cannot get a return on the investment that they make in any talent
either in the talent salary or in the time it takes to promote the talent
or the goodwill that the talent's name builds up on your card
because all these great matches are hospitalizing all the fucking talent.
Brian, do you think, is that anything that they might have thought of
in any of this that you can't, I mean, I know he just sends people away
to go home and not wrestle for three months, six months a year, whatever,
and breaks any momentum they might have
and also prevents them from really doing anything of note anywhere else
because they're under contract and getting paid to sit home and do nothing.
But at the same time, he sends these people home constantly and pays them
sometimes for years,
for working a handful of matches a year because they get hurt,
because of all the shit they're doing these great matches.
Does this make sense to you?
Again, it's important to quantify that great matches are in the eye of the beholder.
There's a specific kind of match that Dave considers a great match.
It's a specific kind of athletic, fast-paced, usually filled with high spots,
usually the rules of a wrestling match can be ignored,
and everyone kicks out of everything.
That's what his idea of a great match is.
I think of
Brett Hart versus Roddy Piper at WrestleMania 8.
Like to me,
that was an all-time great wrestling match.
But Dave...
I'll counter with Brett Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Well, that's a...
In the I quit match.
That's a no-brain.
You just named one of the greatest matches
of all-time on every...
Yeah, but that's great matches.
But my point is,
every match in a...
I shouldn't say every match.
Way too many matches are allegedly great matches that are utterly forgettable.
And the whole idea of a great match is it's not forgettable.
But when you hand out these star ratings because you're saying it's high-end wrestling
or it's the best of the modern style, you're saying it's what you like.
And I unfortunately, and again, I've read the observer since I was a teen.
so I understand it.
There's a lot of people whose
vision of wrestling
and thoughts about what
a great match are
come completely
from Dave,
from Dave's standards,
from Dave's defense of his standards,
and from the kind of matchy champion,
I brought up Brett versus Piper.
Did he get three stars in the Observer?
It's not on any like observer
list of great matches or any of
but to me, it's a great match.
Roddy Piper and Adrian Adonis,
WrestleMania 3.
To me, I can watch that thing over and over again.
Jimmy Hart's on fire in that match.
But there's a specific kind of match
and an acceptance of a specific kind of mindset
that even though Dave probably won't admit it,
all comes from Dave.
You know, Dave getting so behind Omega,
caused the people that followed Dave
to have to do the same thing.
Some of them agreed with what he saw in those matches.
Some of them do with the Youngbucks.
But a lot of people, I think,
trained their thoughts on what a great match is
to Dave and people who, like me,
read The Observer for years and are now online everywhere.
Who do you think is filling up cage match?
Those are all observer readers from the past.
So again, I just think,
answering your question, it's crazy,
but it's the specific kind of match
that Dave champions more than anything else
from a company that Dave waves the pom-poms
for more than anyone else.
He quotes cage match.
I'd like to thank the Academy
for voting on the...
But the problem becomes,
as I said, it's not good business
for anybody's business.
for the promoter
he makes an investment
and now Tony's cons paying some of these guys
millions of dollars, whatever.
And the guy has
four matches, eight matches, whatever
has hurt for six months.
He still keeps getting paid.
You can't establish anything.
You can't keep a program going.
If it's a top guy, it screws up your booking.
Of course, with this booking, you can't tell.
So from a promoter standpoint,
constant injuries are bad, okay?
From the talent standpoint, yes, they're getting paid,
but show me the stupid son of a bitch that wants to go home for six months
and have painful surgery just to get paid.
So, again, it makes no sense for the talent,
and it's actually, it's worse.
for the fans because you can't keep programs going
when people are dropping out all the time and things
constantly change.
And I know
a lot of people are going, well, back in the old days, they had to work
or they didn't get paid. Exactly.
So you didn't do the things that
caused you to get hurt to begin with. You did other
things such as working
and such as being better talents
and better personalities that drew the people into your personal issues
than going out and being fucking stunt men and video game characters.
Nobody gives a shit about or puts any credibility in.
The fans, I don't think, give two fucks whether these guys break themselves in half now or not.
Oh, but it was a table bump.
So he went out in a blaze of glory.
They'll remember it on Cage Match.
it's not good for the wrestlers,
it's not good for their careers
because they can't establish themselves
and build up goodwill
and become bigger stars
by disappearing for long lengths at a time,
whether due to injury or just stupid booking,
it's not good for the promoter
and the investment they make.
And that's why it wasn't a thing
that was done in the territory days
because no promoter
wanted to, even if,
he didn't have to pay the guy while he was hurt.
He didn't want to lose his top guys.
When Jerry Lawler broke his leg in that football game in February of 1980,
and Jerry Jared barely spoke to him for some period of time
because he said, he had told him about playing football, Jerry, you're going to kill
a fucking territory.
You're going to get hurt.
Well, he got hurt, he almost killed the territory.
Came back, tried to come back too soon, injured it further, and had to stay out until the end of the
year. And they were on their ass by the end of that year. But when he came back, it was the
biggest year they'd had in business. But it would have been better for everybody, including
Lawler, who had cost him six figures, Jared, who had cost him more money than it cost
Lawler in the gates they didn't draw without Lawler. And the fans didn't enjoy the product as much
without the top star, henceforth.
They didn't come as much
and they didn't watch as much until he finally came back.
You know, but again, to the star ratings question,
I saw something the other day was something like
in the last six years or seven years,
there have been more five-star matches than there were in the previous 30.
It's hard to argue that this is not Dave's style
and what Dave loves when it can't just be, well, the wrestling's so high-end now.
No, it's a specific,
style that you like, the greater likes this. And I think Dave is kind of lost in the woods
on this whole thing, or he's not able to just admit his internal relationship with AEW.
But on Twitter, I guess this goes to your point. There was a thread. It started with someone
saying, Dave Meltzer, why didn't Angle versus HBK at Mania receive a five-star rating? Would it receive
a five-star rating from you today?
Six stars?
Seven?
To which Dave replied,
yawn.
Matches from the past would
almost all be lower today.
What? There are exceptions.
As far as
why I didn't,
it got four and three-quarter stars.
That means it was amazing at the time.
Why not is for matches under two.
once you're over four,
why not doesn't exist?
And also what in the world is he talking about?
It was amazing for the time.
When's the last time we saw a match here lately
or for the past several years
that was really as good as Kurt Angle and Sean Michaels?
You know, there's something to be said
for the string of big match
WrestleMania main events or big WrestleMania matches they had.
Undertaker Sean Michaels, those two.
Sean and Kurt Engel,
there were a few years there
where they are the big matches of those years
when you go back and think about
like what was the best thing that year.
Often it was those matches.
Why wouldn't they,
I mean, if we see what the matches today,
how he treats them today,
why wouldn't those be six-star matches then?
But let's go back to this.
I have no idea.
Someone named Harold Litvin on Twitter
responded to Dave
AEW has not had
10 legit 5-star matches
in their existence
Dave knows this
to which Dave replied
Cage match
even with the sad anti-AEW
force
attempting to keep the big matches down
lists 21 of the top 100
matches in the history of wrestling
as from AEW.
Anyway, it's cool.
So you don't see what seems to be obvious to most who watch.
There are dozens of styles out there.
Most are in AEW.
But some aren't.
Hopefully you find something that gives you entertainment.
Oh, good Lord.
And a cage match.
It's a bunch of fucking marks
that goddamn mark out for the same shit they marks for.
So what the fuck?
like they're in any way of reliable barometer of what's going on.
But again,
you can't just award people the Grammy
or the gold album because they sing louder
than everybody else when they fuck up multiple times in the song.
And sometimes it's not saying louder.
It's they're singing directly to him.
Yes.
And singing how much they love him while they're singing loud.
off-key and forgetting part of the words and with rotten backing music.
You can't compare most matches today with the matches of 20 years ago because the guys
were so much more experienced then.
And the shit looks so much better.
Now it's just people jumping off shit with varying degrees of difficulty and success.
And sometimes they make it and sometimes they don't.
And that's, you know, sometimes.
they get it and sometimes they don't
is not the description of a work of art.
Well, Harold Littvin had more to say.
I was about to say, are we finished with Harold and Maude?
Harold said,
You have 83 five-star matches for a company that has been around for seven years.
Come on, dude.
We all understand why you give them so many.
Just come out and say it.
to which Dave,
obviously upset enough to amplify this,
quote tweeted,
yes, wrestling has changed.
Before, the owners and bookers' primary motive
was doing things to sell tickets for next week,
which also meant great matches were something that did happen,
but that wasn't the primary motive.
Now you have an owner where that is the primary motive.
Who doesn't need it?
to make any money.
But now you have an owner...
Yeah, for the first time ever, you have an owner who doesn't need to make any money.
Now you have an owner where that is the primary motive, both in hiring talent, making
matches, and giving those matches time, giving the talent a better schedule, booking television
to specifically have high-quality matches rather than limit them to...
two bouts on a seven-bout pay-per-view show.
Now, many companies book matches specifically to be great, a rarity in the past.
It did happen on occasion as part of a company's DNA.
So, of course, that company, and two or three others, somewhat following suit, are going to
have more great matches.
I think anyone who follows close can see this.
There's a lot of this lately.
the third grader could understand this.
You have to take second grade math
to understand this.
Anyone can see this.
It's common sense.
You don't get it, Brian.
He jumped over the top rope and tripped on the rope
and fell on his head and his pants fell down
and his butthole fell on top of the other guy's face
and he snorted one of his fucking turds.
But then they did some great springboard stuff.
I usually don't like this kind of stuff.
Five stars.
So yeah.
Well, anyway.
You know, but again, this idea.
idea. You know, just to read the beginning here again, wrestling has changed before the owners and
Booker's primary motive was doing things to sell tickets for next week, which meant great
matches were something that did happen, but it wasn't the primary motive. Now you have an
owner where that is the primary motive, having great matches. Well, I beat around the bush
earlier and didn't mention the names, but the crop that has been harvested by the owner
planting the seeds of great matches.
Just on one show, we've now had all of the injuries revealed,
just from one show, all out, which was after all in, obviously, the last paperbue.
Where were they?
Were they in Chicago?
Outside of Chicago.
Just outside of Chicago.
Everybody's in Chicago.
Hoffman Estates, I think it was, right?
Ah, well, Philip Seymour was.
Very happy.
Great actor.
Great actor.
Yeah, but he's dead,
isn't he?
Yeah, he was a great actor,
but now he's dead.
Well, now he's dead.
So he's about the same place
as most of the fucking wrestlers
on Tony's show.
Apparently on the pregame
tailgate brawl garbage match
that we didn't even bother to watch,
Jay White got hurt again.
He just came back after a year and a half.
And he wrestled like three times
Eddie's hurt again.
again and he's out for a few months in a garbage comedy match on the pre-show of a pay-per-view
I know anything can happen but why in the world would you if you're a kind of a top guy
like Jay White was trying to be before he got hurt the last time why are you going to do
something risky enough to get hurt in a goddamn pre-show and what the fuck
was the use. Then Jamie Hater, who was in the multiple girl tag team garbage match with ladders
and Davenports and Ottomans and Schiffer robes. And she's hurt somehow where she can stand
around on TV, but she can't wrestle, I guess, for a while. I don't know. And then on the show
that we will get to momentarily, this past Wednesday night, Edge comes out and says,
well, by the way, about five minutes after the men's garbage ladder, table chair,
fucking concrete bunker match, said Christian Cage, five minutes into the match took a bump on a ladder
and broke three of his ribs and had a collapsed lung from one of them.
And is out now indefinitely, so Edge is working singles or whatever.
but one fucking night.
And these are names that they have been using in various fashions.
It's, it doesn't need to be this way.
No, there's no excuse for someone who you have any hope of doing anything with getting
injured in the tailgate brawl on the pre-show.
There's no excuse there.
I mean, I'm surprised it's only Christian that's been severely hurt in one of these ladder matches
because we haven't just seen a bunch lately in both companies,
but we've seen guys in their late 40s, early 50s in them.
You're not supposed to do that.
Remember, Edge,
Edge jumped off top the cage, broke his leg,
and was out for almost a year, and it came back,
and now they've got him in fucking ladder mat,
because that, again, Tony's a Mark.
Sometimes that's good.
You've been a Mark for shit.
You love shit, hey, it's great,
but he's a Mark when he's a Mark,
when he's in charge of it.
And he can't get his investment back out of the talent,
either by trying to relive 25 years ago
with Edge and Christian when they're in their 50s,
or burying the new day in a six-man tag team
situation with other baby faces,
because your little slime ball EVPs
wanted to win the tag team title in their market
Fest masturbation match against their heroes and the fill-in Dudleys.
So anyway, those guys are hurt now.
And all in the same night, all doing the same kind of guys and girls, all doing the same
kind of shit.
Every one of them was the comedy garbage match, the girls' garbage match, and the guys' garbage
match.
on the same show every single one of them got somebody i know it's another company and i haven't
seen anything did you see anything about the status of tiffany strutton well no i mean
i guess they'll let her wrestle whenever she remembers what her name and address is but it's
ridiculous don't and and as as green as they all were i'm surprised they all didn't bite the dust all
the women in the money in the bank thing.
But if the idea is just to go out there and get hurt on purpose,
you know, to go home and collect your check and have a great match that gets rated on
cage match and then lay up for six months, I guess they're doing fine.
I guess, again, they have an owner who puts a priority on great matches and that's it.
And, you know, when AEW was first announced,
the best case scenario hope was
it was going to be
new Japan-ish style matches
but with American wrestling television
angles and promos
sports based presentation
sports based presentation
and we never got the angles and promos
it never came
you know some guys do good promos
but just the whole setup
and the whole fucking way it was done
it became
remember for a long time it was JVWE
they took the same ring announcer
the same style backstage promos everything
but
you know again great matches are in the eye of the beholder
I think back to when I first started going to wrestling
how into it I was
and how much I love the matches
because it was big star against big star that I had seen on TV
when I think back to Hakku versus King Duggan
I don't think like man
they didn't do much.
I think about, I liked it.
I think about my dad chuckle when, you know,
he tried to pull Duggan's pants down.
You know, he thought that was funny.
You know, I enjoyed it.
But if the entire show,
when I first started going to wrestling,
was nonstop Meltzer five-star matches
or people aspiring to get there,
I don't know if I would have the same love for wrestling.
I don't know that I wouldn't have been burned out
before the intermission.
You wouldn't even even,
remember it.
Well, anyway, we wish all those people the best in their
recoveries of the various issues that they've got in the various
places that they've got them in.
But I don't know, Brian, maybe instead of diving off all this
stuff or taking all these big bumps, what about if guys just
came out to the matches with frying pans in their hands
and just quacked each other over the head with frying pants?
And they'd get concussions, but at least they wouldn't have to have
to have surgery, they just wind up punchy after four or five good shots with a frying pan.
I think that might be the way to go from now and keep people out of the hospital.
Just start, instead of chairs, tables, and ladders, frying pans.
That's the new foreign object in wrestling.
And it makes a good sound, ding.
Or if you use the hex-clad frying pan, it goes,
lop, because it sounds like you just bashed in a watermelon.
because these things are built to last, ladies gentlemen, not people's heads, hex-clad frying pans.
That's what I'm talking about.
Brian, you love your hex-clad frying pans.
Whose head have you hit lately?
I love them.
My wife loves them.
Important to remind everyone they are perfect for hitting the stove and cooking something delicious.
And, of course, maybe some stuff for the barbecue.
They have a wide array of wonderful items, but not for physical use, not for,
assault. Well, they could be pressed into service if necessary. If some guys halfway in your window
and it's the closest thing, just grab the handle and swing, folks. But I'll tell you what,
Hexclad is changing the game. Combining the performance of stainless steel with the convenience of
non-stick all in one pan or pot, as the case may be. If you want a full cookware upgrade,
hexclad's 12-piece set gives you everything you need, three versatile pans, two sauce pans,
and that family size stock pot,
not available for Mormon families in Utah,
over 14 people.
And they got the six piece.
It's available to all in the domestic United States.
Well, it might not be big enough for your family
if you're one of these breeders.
And they got the six piece set
if you want to upgrade the everyday essentials
without replacing the entire kitchen at once.
But these are the last pans that you're ever going to need.
As if you can't cook
with hex-clad pans, then you're just going to quit cooking.
Once you experience this, you don't want to do it any other way.
They're metal utensil safe, dishwasher safe, super easy to wipe clean.
You can scald a hamburger and get a great sear and then just take a Kleenex and wipe this
fucking pan.
It's amazing.
And oven safe up to 900 degrees.
So you can cook even the most treacherous Tyrannosaurus flank.
in your oven and the stay cool stainless steel handle.
It stays cool on top of the stove.
In the oven, you're going to have to use a mitt.
But there's a reason why Gordon Ramsey uses Hexclad at home.
That's because his wife is fucking the Hexclad salesman.
And I'll tell you what, folks.
That is not the reason.
It's because of how good the pans are and how wonderful they are,
as Jim pointed out, to make all sorts of things from burgers to all sorts of things.
to all sorts of things.
All sorts of things, including burgers.
And that's the thing is,
if it's good enough for Gordon's wife,
it should be good enough for your wife.
So have the Hexclad salesman over quickly.
Folks, Hexclad is built for real cooking.
And the laser-etched hexagonal surface is what makes it different.
The stainless steel ridges help with searing and durability.
The non-stick valleys.
help the food release easily.
So you got a little tit for tat there,
a little come see, come saw.
And right now, you can upgrade your kitchen
with Hexclad and make cooking, hosting, and cleanup
easier all season long, and for a limited time only now.
Our listeners are going to get 10% off their order
with our exclusive link,
hexclad.com slash J-C-C-E, Hexclad.com,
slash J-C-E, hexclad.com
slash J-C-E 10% off, and that's a heck of a discount.
They ought to raise the price on this stuff.
It's a greatest cookware on the planet.
And instead they're discounting.
I think they ought to charge people more.
Hurry up before I win, ladies gentlemen,
and buy these great items at a discount
because once I start talking to these people,
they're jacking the prices up.
Don't count on that but count on a great deal one more time, Jim, that promo code.

Well, and speaking of Mothers,
there were a lot of them in Cleveland this past week
for AEW Dynamite on October 14th.
Oh, mother.
Who is Walker Stewart?
He popped up at the announced desk.
seen him before, heard his name in any way?
I believe he's a New Japan commentator.
He did a good job.
Well, that makes sense that he's the best.
The guy that got to speaks English the best is the guy that does commentary for Japan.
They opened the show with another six-man tag match with a various combination of Dick
the Boozer and the Boer Horseman against the Fallis family.
This time, Wardlow and Davison Doyle.
So Wardlow is already just another guy.
He just got back after five years.
And he's,
do they do this every week?
Brian,
instead of a big breakup between these two heel factions after,
you know,
some incident,
they just made smart-ass comments to each other
and then started having six-man or eight-man tag team matches every week.
Where are the heated,
promos between the two factions
based on the clear angle
that they did that's been replayed over
and over that gave a reason for these
hostilities. Why
based on what
interaction that these two groups have had
with each other would we want to cheer
one over the other?
Or are they
just having
six-man tag matches every
fucking week?
Yes to both of those. They're
starting the show most weeks, it seems like, lately with six-man tag matches, and also
there has been some variation of the Callas family versus the death riders on multiple
shows now going back in over a month.
So both things can be true.
Yeah, many of them are.
And the same, the same, same.
Davis beat Moxley with a pile driver, though.
Why did it take a year for him or his pile driver to beat anybody?
and it's John Moxley out of the blue.
What good is that going to do?
When he came in there a year ago,
and I said, wow, the best thing this guy does is Pile Driver.
If when he started, he had more often than not,
when he did his Pile Driver, beat somebody with it,
and more often than not had won whatever match he's involved in
instead of lost, then now if he beat John Moxley,
that would take him to an even bigger level.
But now it's just why the fuck did this guy
to the blue beat John Moxley with a pile draft?
Because Moxley's going through some shit.
He pitches a childish tantrum later in the show.
And Marina Schaefer has to calm him down
in front of his wife.
In front of his wife, we'll talk about that.
But also, obviously, they set up Moxley versus Mark Davis.
Surprise for the paper view.
That surprise is tomorrow.
They were still.
book in matches and qualifying
for shit on the pay-per-view three days
before the fucking paper view.
So we were 22 minutes into the show
at that point.
Then we have a
clockwork carnage
qualifier.
They're trying to, again, it's an
eight-man title match. We don't even know
who the fuck is in it. It's three days away.
On the pay-per-view, people are still
qualifying for these
fauccacta convoluted
rules where it's a mashup of every stipulation and gimmick match that these marks have ever seen
Osprey supposedly really took credit for it because I guess he thought of it for his girls group
in England or wherever the fuck it is where he plays with women it just indie mark bullshit
and it's Edge against Josh Alexander.
But first, Edge does a promo.
He comes out in fatigue gear, like military-style shit.
It makes him look like a bum.
Is this the guy that used to have shiny tights and bright colors
and was a big star?
And now he looks like Grizzly Adams,
if he joined the National Guard?
What has happened?
He's now a grizzly, tough,
guy.
Well, and I'm sorry.
I forgot he had the match then did the promo
because he beat Josh Alexander with a spear.
I didn't watch that. Who gives a shit?
But Edge is promo. That's where
he said that Christian
got hurt.
In the garbage match at the pay-per-view,
broke three ribs, collapsed lung.
And by now, because he's had the match,
Edge was blown up and couldn't stand
up straight doing this promo
because he's 50.
Why format this like this?
And he said, he realized, I'm not the poster on the teenager's wall anymore.
I'm aging out.
So 2027 is going to be my last year in wrestling.
So I've got to go for the AEW title.
And then they played Don Fallis' music and out he came with Brian Cage, Dr. Diana Ball.
and he did a promo with his tongue and his cheek.
It's not like a manager trying to get heat.
It's like a guy trying to be a smart ass at a party.
And he doesn't like Edge's chances of seeing 2027 or the pay-per-view Saturday.
And then a bunch more of his heels, I forget which, came in and beat Edge up.
But then they played music and Take a shit came out with Pocket,
and Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly.
So now the heels all ran from Tegasit and his jobber friends.
And remember when Take was going to be a thing,
which we'll get to in a minute because now he's going to have a match.
But they repeated the package for cocked up carnage.
So the people would, if they were jotting things down and taking
notes, they'd remember the rules.
But it's just match after mark moment after match after mark moment on this show.
But before I get ahead of myself, your thoughts on Edge retiring and how quickly he can do it?
I have not been a fan.
I've always expressed this in his comeback ever since he returned to WWE and had the thing
with Randy Orton.
I have not been a big fan of any of this.
I'm not a big fan of his promos.
So while I'm running.
the guy down. Let me tell you what I really think...
No. You know, I think he
has to call it a day at some point and
he didn't get to go out his own way the first time.
Prepare for it, plan for it, do it now.
If you want it to happen, maybe don't work stupid matches
between now and then.
Yeah.
Where there's a good risk you're going to get hurt.
You're a bit prone to getting hurt and most people would be
at your age.
And just the punishment you've already
taken throughout your career. I'm talking to you
personally.
Yeah, me, me. I thought you're talking to age.
Don't do it. Just don't do it.
Well, I'm not. Don't worry.
You know, the idea when he said
he wants to go for the AEW World Championship
you know, there's always something there if done
right, the idea of a guy who knows
it's his last year and he just wants to get
that title one more time.
Let's see, I mean, I don't know who's...
Kind of like a Rocky-like thing. I'm going to
win it for you, Adrian. Yeah.
Hey, that's my thing.
But instead of Adrian, it's Marina Shafir.
It's Renee.
No, it's Marina.
Renee can leave.
I want to see Renee Mawksley Good versus Marina Schaefer.
That's what I want to see.
All right, anyway, they had another qualifying match with Take a shit and Brian Cage,
not to be confused with Christian, and I swear to God, at the bell,
they stood in the middle of the ring and traded the fake forearms.
17 of them.
And the first bump
was when Take Hurricane Ronidim.
And
so now Take is just another one of the boys.
This is,
he had a cool look when he came in.
He was different from the other Japanese guys
that were all broken down and useless.
He could go. He had a cool kind of
Japanese Yakuza type of look.
With somebody to talk for him, they could have done something,
and instead it's just been all this.
And he's never going to be a fucking effective baby face
because he can't fucking speak.
But finally, he put Brian Cage in a stationary rear face lock
where Cage had to hold his own arm behind himself in a hammerlock position.
And they've given another exciting guy a boring submission move.
why no business reason it's not exciting
they just all fantasize that they're MMA guys
so everybody's got to tap somebody out
they did a spot where Brian Cage did a top rope
Frankensteiner on Takesha
to you know to show he could do it even though he's all pumped up
and proud of it but it was like it took them
so long to because it's so fucking dangerous
get it set up
and balance themselves, especially Cage.
You know, again, I'm of the mindset.
Don't do it if you can't make it look like it would actually be in a match,
not like, all right, stand here, don't move, or we're both going to go down.
Hold me, hold me, hold me tight.
That's another thing with the great matches that Dave doesn't,
there is also the difference in why that matches of years ago were so much better than today's
is because there wasn't so much obvious cooperation.
I'm talking about slap you in a face with cooperation
because they weren't trying to do so many stupid things.
And Dave doesn't take off any scoring for,
it's obviously they're cooperating to do this,
which is actually the worst thing that can happen at a wrestling match.
And that is basically the first thing I look for.
if it looks fucking phony, then you've failed.
I don't care how many goddamn bumps you take or fancy flips you do.
Speaking of looking phony,
Renee Moxley Good was with Osprey and the United Empire.
I swear to God, they've got their world heavyweight champion standing next to
Steamboat's daughter, the brawling broads, and a Mexican cab driver.
And this is the American.
American United Empire.
How about Tony Shavati bringing out
FTR and Stokely?
Brian and they've now decided
to start permanently
dressing like two gas station attendants.
What happened to the
colorful stripes
on their tights and the matching
gear and the fucking
they looked like wrestlers.
Now they look literally like
Michael Myers driving a station wagon.
And they've got
a manager, a bald midget on a
crutch.
This was the best tag team in wrestling three years ago.
What the fuck?
I don't know. I don't understand the outfits.
I just want to appear to be working class.
I don't know what that is exactly.
It looks silly to me, and I think most people.
Now, with that said,
whether or not they're the best tag team in wrestling anymore,
they may be about to get a chance to show what they could do
with a tag team
I haven't seen them work with
any time I could think of.
Well, and that's what they called out
the kookamunga kids,
but of course that was a
blind alley
because Sabin and Shelley
came out,
Motor City machine guns.
And
Shelley still looks the same.
Sabin looks like a CPA now.
I don't,
he's just cleaned up.
I don't know.
They look an aging emo band.
Well, yeah,
he doesn't look young
and anti-fucking
the man anymore or whatever.
But their promo,
we've got all the respect in the world for you.
They put them over.
I'm like, what the fuck?
But if anybody can match FTR's reputation,
it's the Motor City Machine guns.
And I'm saying, what the fuck?
Can't anybody do a goddamn angle
and have a heel and a baby face?
And the baby face doesn't have to go up to the heel
and say, oh, I think you're great and I respect you.
Fuck you.
You're a fucking.
dick and I'm going to beat some sense into you.
But they
said since FTR is beating the bucks three out of five
times, what if the machine guns beat FTR
three out of five? They're going to
have a best of five series. They're going to be
great matches.
They didn't do a goddamn thing
to make me care to see
at once, much less five times.
Where is FTR attacking Sabin?
and Shelley and depriving them of a victory or injuring them or personally insulting them
and harming them in some way that the baby faces have to man up and get even.
What's the most famous best to five series in modern wrestling, Brian?
The most fan, I don't know.
Nikita Koloff and Magnum.
That was best to seven.
Oh, even better.
Did they just announce at the start,
These guys have never wrestled.
They have no problem with each other.
They both respect each other, so they're going to have a best of seven series.
Or was there an angle and a hatred and a burning animosity between Magnum T.A.
and Nikita Koloff that could only be settled for the U.S. title by a series of matches
and stadiums all across the country?
The fuck.
But they're going to start this at wrestle dream in three days.
But that's the thing I was saying earlier about AEW.
Everything's about match quality.
That's all it's about.
Just have the best match you could possibly have.
That doesn't mean they can't do angles.
They never do like just a traditional,
when I say a traditional angle.
Like you said, something happens.
One person's mad at another person.
One person cheats another person.
Someone jumps another person for a reason.
Not, hey, we really like you guys.
How about a best of five with us?
okay.
I guess FTR with the heels because
you know, their mechanics
They got a manager. Yeah, I don't know.
And I'm sure
it'll be a really good match.
Five of them. Or five.
Yeah. Yeah.
International title was on the line
with Myron Reed
challenging Blando McBoring.
As much as I can't stand
Okada and I think he's the laziest piece
of shit that's ever drawn a breath
or a paycheck in a wrestling ring.
How does Myron Reed walk in here and get an international title match against this fucking guy?
And why is this even on TV?
What the fuck?
Give him Myron Reed for six minutes to squash and beat somebody,
but how does Myron Reed get a title match?
I felt bad for him.
I mean, there aren't a lot of myrons out there anymore.
Well, they brought it on themselves.
So then the new day and Nana came out, not with swerve Strickland, but a guy named Mojo.
Who the fuck is Mojo?
And when they got to the ring, they're all in street clothes, it's just an interview.
Mojo starts doing all the talking.
He's there to make something happen.
He starts plugging to pay-per-view.
Then he dropped an elbow on nobody.
At least Flair used to fucking drop it on his suit jacket when he was mad, make a point.
Who was this fucking guy?
They said he was a comedian and actor.
Oh, Christ.
Kofi tried to talk, but this guy kept jumping in trying to be funny.
And it was bad.
It was really bad.
Then they cut a promo on the other baby faces that they're mad at,
Brody King and Bandito and Hangnail.
But they're, again, this is a brand new fucking hot WWE superstars come in here for big money.
And they're either stuck with a guy that was a heel until the first day they teamed up and then all is forgiven.
Or this fucking amateur comedian that nobody knows who the fuck he is.
And this asshole was making them the heels because he was just annoying.
Again, the new day, they both tried hard.
People are already not caring.
because why would they? What is this?
Yeah, a lot of people didn't care in Cleveland.
I heard they only had $2,700 in the whole building.
So maybe they might need to reconsider Cleveland.
Maybe the river was on fire.
Well, actually, they were just afraid of a riot.
You know, ever since that fucking incident with Ox,
they've been wary about coming back to the matches.
It's only been 52 years.
They had a girl's six-man tag.
That was exciting.
Ah, I thought at first Samoa Joe was going to wrestle Tomaso Champa,
and I thought, holy shit, we're going to get to see a fucking wrestling match.
But the other two then came out, and Joe and Champa were partners against Osprey and Andrade.
And the bell rang at 9.58 p.m.
For the main event on dynamite.
So that went over into the overrun of collision, which was the next hour,
because they didn't want to run opposite themselves
on Saturday on the pay-per-view.
And this finish was,
it was so bad.
Tomaso got the belt
and got up on the apron,
but Andre punched Tomaso
and he dropped the belt on the apron.
And then Joe grabbed a sleeper,
but Andrade switched around and rolled him up.
Joe kicked out.
Andrade had to run toward Tomaso on the apron,
but the referee had to stay kneeling with
Joe so that he didn't see what was going on behind him
where Tomaso grabbed fucking Andrade and figured out a way
after a bobble or two to DDT him on the belt on the apron
and then Joe put him to sleep.
This was not well executed.
But now we're already over in collision.
We've still got more to go.
But what the fuck?
Why is there a world champion in this?
continually in a mess every fucking week,
hanging out with underneath preliminary guys,
being in messes of tag team matches,
I don't get what the fuck they're doing with poor Osprey.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, and I'll tell you something else too.
They had another qualifier match between Rickashay and Ace Austin.
and so like Ace Austin is going to suddenly qualify to get a shot at the world title.
They introduced ricochet at 208 pounds, only as Bob Eaton would say if he had rocks in his pockets.
And that was that.
Then they had a sit down with Renee Moxley Good with Don and a couple of his heels, Kevin Knight and Kyle,
and then the bucks came in and beat the heels up in 10 seconds.
It was so phony.
Nick Wayne did an in-ring promo seriously.
Seriously, they actually gave him an in-ring promo.
He and Jericho are one-in-one.
And they're going to have the rubber match at the pay-per-view.
And apparently, Jericho is working the,
I'm going to get the young guys over deal
to earn the millions that he got from Tony
after he couldn't put the WWE deal together
to go there and go in the Hall of Fame.
Now it's like, okay, I'll just,
I'll put all these young guys over
and make him stars, Tony.
So he kicked this young guy
into balls and walked out on him.
See you Saturday, kid.
Did I miss anything on Nick Wayne's promo
that makes me think he's the next coming of
goddamn Terry Funk or Mick Foley
or CM Punk on the mic?
Well, no. I think he's just fine
considering where he's been.
I actually like Nick Quinn.
I don't have a problem with him other than he's working with Jericho.
And that just makes it something you don't want to see
because Jericho, he's older than all these guys.
And I don't mean that in a good way,
because we're talking about a company where match quality is the most important thing.
And despite Dave still giving Jericho four-star matches,
that's not what anyone else sees.
But I like Nick Wayne.
I think Nick Wayne's good.
I'm sure it'll be four and a half with young,
young Nick. Then they had another girl's tag team match, which ran over into the 11 p.m. hour,
which also apparently, allegedly contained a main event of some kind featuring Darby Allen,
but I don't know for sure because I didn't record the program after the extra hour that I recorded of the program past 10 o'clock to go till 11 fucking 30 or whatever.
and you did the same thing, right?
You went to sleep and didn't realize you wouldn't have seen it anyway.
The only match I kind of was interested in seeing was the Darby Allen thing.
I didn't know they were going to put it all the way at the end of this marathon.
It was like Joe Pedicino took over the network for a day.
It was just nonstop.
And then there was the pay-per-view preview show afterwards, so I didn't see it.
Oh, good Lord, it's that four hours.
Four hours for a pay-per-view that they're still announcing the match.
matches on.
And that maybe they should have just said, you know what?
We probably, we don't really have anything this, this time around.
We'll just, but that was dynamite.
In name only.
In name only.
And that's the show in name only.
Apparently, Bradlett, do you have anything else we need to go over in great detail?
We will have a lot more fun on the drive-thru.
We'll review whatever there was.
to see on the pay-per-view,
plus lots more classic wrestling fun.
Well, there you go.
And until then,
ladies and gentlemen,
we hope that nobody gets hurt
flying off the top of a ladder.
And otherwise, thank you,
fuck you, and bye-bye, everybody.
