What in the world?
I should have played the other one.
Hello, I should have played the other one.
You should have played the other one.
Yeah.
The old familiar one.
The one with the box.
A hello again, friends, and you are our friends.
We are yelling with our Vox.
We will lower the volume.
Welcome back to another edition of Jim Cornett's drive-thru.
Right here on another fun day.
We're promising fun today.
It's been happening a lot lately.
And the fun continues.
I'm your host, the great Brian last.
A lot of things continuing.
And here he is, the man who will continue the fun.
I'm handing it off to this man, the star of the show, Mr. Jim Cornett.
you know Brian
everything that comes out of a box
is not over
uh see what I did there
I thought for once I was looking forward to it
a couple of daggers
through my ear drums I thought you'd wake me up
I have done something
that I never do I've never done
I don't ever do this type of thing
that I'm about to tell you that I've done
I took a nap
right now
in the middle of the daggum day.
I feel all verclimped because I feel like I woke up and I had a short day and
went to bed and woke up again.
Oh shit, what the fuck's going on?
I've skipped something.
I've never been a nap person.
I find it disorients me.
I'm always busy.
I've got things to do.
And if I ever did lay down and take a nap, then if I woke up, I'd be sleepy the rest
of the day.
And then I wouldn't be able to sleep well that night because I'd already slept during a day.
But after I spoke to you this morning to verify the time of our recording session here,
I was sitting on the couch and Buddy was already in my lap and I'd been reviewing Raw.
And he turned around and just crawled up in my arms like a little baby.
And Alfie was next to me.
And they had me nap trapped.
And as well, I'll just, I'll just watch this TV for a minute.
And I nodded off.
And I woke up and every part of my body was numb.
We were there without moving for like 45 minutes.
Oh, shut up.
And I'm still disoriented from that happening.
But I'm sleep deprived.
Do you know anything about carbon monoxide, Brian last?
I mean, I have a.
layman's idea a bit.
I'm not an expert.
I didn't study it at a school at carbon monoxide college.
But yeah, I know what it is.
Well, there's a lot of great graduates.
What's going on?
Are you breathing it in?
What's going on over there?
A lot of great graduates coming from carbon monoxide college,
and they had a wonderful volleyball team.
But it's poisonous, you know.
It can kill you.
It can kill people.
And so because of the instances of carbon monoxide poisoning,
because it leaps up,
leeches out of the ground in certain circumstances,
you've got to be careful.
They come up with a thing
that they call a carbon monoxide detector,
where if you can put it in your home,
and if there is a high, dangerous level of carbon monoxide,
well, it'll fucking alert you, right?
And so that's a thing that I possess,
because I don't want to wake up one morning dead.
But I did wake up one morning,
when the goddamn thing reaches the end of its life, apparently,
it emits five shrill, shrieking beeps every two fucking minutes.
And it just happened to reach the end of its life at five o'clock now fucking morning.
And all of us are, beep, beep, beep, beep, what the fuck?
and then I'm like there's a smoke detector here at the castle that for whatever reason
it's the one you always got to change the battery and it'll start beeping on you but that
didn't sound like it but I went to that first I got to get a chair take the goddamn battery out
and then as soon as I got the battery in my hand beeped me then I got to walk around and see is the
beep louder or is the beep fucking fainter and I'm a naked
and it's pitch fucking black
and I don't want to turn the lights on
because then I'm going to be awake
I had this happen
and finally four days in a row
four days in a row
yeah no it happened
I guess all of them had batteries
that aged out at the same time
it happened in the basement one night
in the middle of the night
we faintly heard that we dealt with it the next day
the next day was coming from somewhere
downstairs and we couldn't think
in the middle of the night, like I'm standing under them looking up,
like which one is the one making the noise?
It's not this one.
Took me a while.
Had to get a ladder.
And then the next day was upstairs in the hallway.
Luckily, I had the ladder out.
And I dealt with that one in the middle of the night.
And then it was our bedroom.
And then the other problem is you can't get the batteries out.
It's supposed to have like one of those black, you know, ribbons that you pull it.
And the battery just comes right out.
What kind of fancy Dan Hallmark gift card?
shop smoke detectors
with ribbons hanging out of them.
Not like long ribbons, but the little
it's almost like a string but it's a ribbon
that you pull to get the battery
to pop out.
Sounds like a rib to me.
Well, they rib me.
They didn't have to stand up on a fucking chair
to stick your finger in there and pry that
son of a bitch. It's one of those nine
bolts in mind where you can never
tell which
round part is supposed to go on
which side of the thing.
In the middle of the night.
In the middle of the night.
In the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep,
and it won't stop admitting that shrill beep.
Then you take an axe to your ceiling with glee.
Because it won't let you sleep.
Every night it woke me up and I turn and I look,
I'm like, how is she still sleeping?
How is this not like, what, wait a minute,
the alarm that is supposed to alert.
hurt you in case of a death-impending fucking disaster.
Doesn't even wake your wife up?
It's not the one you have where it's like a bunch of beeps in a row.
It's the battery is out beep.
So every, I don't know, two and a half minutes here.
Yeah.
That ought to be enough to fucking wake you up in the middle of a silent night,
a holy night.
Or maybe she woke up and she realized it's not the actual carbon monotone.
oxide alarm. It's the battery of the
alarm, so she didn't give a shit. But I had to deal
with it. Four nights at her own a letter in the middle of the night.
And now I'm waiting for the other ones. How did you
turn my fucking disaster into
something that's all about you?
It's my show.
Ah, you got me there.
We're just out of control here today.
You know, it's the fun.
And later on, we're going to have Velveteen Dream
on a press conference to talk about
winning friends and influencing people.
More on that later on in the program.
That should be the new promotion.
You don't even need fights.
Just press conferences where people yell at each other.
Keep them away from each other.
Every now and then someone could charge and he's back.
Well, it turned out there was more violence at the press conference
than there was in the fucking fights on this.
Oh, boy, howdy, folks.
If you haven't heard about this thing.
But I'm pissed at this promotion.
It wasn't around 25 years ago before I got old.
We could have had me in Rousseau.
Well, we could have me in Rousseau 10 years ago
and I would have still gone through with it.
Now I'm afraid I'd hurt myself hurting him.
Well, they have a lot of money behind them.
They would have been able to pay you your appearance fee.
That's for sure.
We're going to talk later on about you've got to do some kind of delving into
how this guy got any fucking money.
unless he'd be fucking
poisoned his rich parents somehow
that's about the only way I can see this guy
having a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of
and then he drank some of the poison himself but he lived
oh my god it looks like he was the victim
one of those Russian KGB goddamn poison meals
all right
this is your program
you know you can happen it's all yours
If you want it, here it is.
Come and get it.
Who wrote that?
That was a Lennon and McCartney.
Well, it's Paul McCartney, but yes.
I think it may be technically under Lennon and McCartney.
Well, they, you know, they had to do that contractually.
It was a very bad finger that he gave to John on that one.
But I will take over to say,
that on my program a few days ago,
I made an earth-shaking announcement, Brian,
and I thought I would follow that up on your program
with shaking the earth up again,
just to make sure that it doesn't get crunchy in the oven.
And I revealed to the folks
what that I am unleashing on the world
for the big holiday sale at Cornets Collectibles
at Jimcornett.com.
We've been talking about the negative project,
and I don't mean that in a bad way,
because positive, ah, good.
In this case, negatives are good.
Because we've been going through mine,
me and Hotchka's Feather Bottom,
and digitally remastering and et cetera,
as we've been talking about on the program,
and now you will be able to buy not one,
but two dose portfolios
of some of my finest work at Jim Cornett.com
going on sales Saturday, October 3rd.
these are, as I said, professionally printed on high-quality photo paper,
digitally remastered from the original negatives portfolio on the Memphis
Wrestling Legends and great wrestling champions.
And boy, howdy, this is some of my favorite stuff that I have ever done.
And they are on one, but they are on one.
they will be one of a limited edition of 250 each.
I don't expect of the goddamn numerous people around the world
to all want to collect all these 8 by 10s,
so we're keeping it to just the serious, classic wrestling fan,
250 of each, signed and numbered by myself.
and Brian,
I don't remember do you,
what year was it
that Tommy Rich
had a week as NWA champion in Georgia?
That was 1980, was it not?
81.
I think it's 81.
Now you got me one.
No, no. Wait, no.
Would it be 80? It was 81.
Would it be 81?
You might be able to look that up.
But anyway,
And you know what's a little forgotten,
a little forgotten fucking fact about the big cage match
at the Omni where Oli turned on Dusty?
The NWA World Title match that night
was Tommy Rich challenging Harley Race with Luthez as the referee.
And that got overlooked because of all of the chaos
that happened in the cage and the turn,
which was probably Dusty's plan.
I would think that he would always want to make sure everything was overlooked except for him.
But I have pictures of that that will be released at a later date.
But Tommy Wildfire Rich is one of the Memphis legends that is in the Memphis Wrestling Legends portfolio,
and he has the Southern Heavyweight title belt on.
This was even before he became world champion.
He was 20, what, three years old in 1980.
and what a white meat young baby face.
And already possessing a numerous gig marks on his four,
right between where he had the hair part in the middle,
those delicious blonde bangs and all the girls love.
He's already getting fucking gig marks there.
He looked like Carlos Colon.
And he was 23.
But that was the key to his popularity is get sympathy on that fucking kid
and let him make a comeback.
But anyway, you know, I will say, though,
I understand why girls fell in love with young Tommy Rich
when he first got on the Georgia TV.
Let's just focus on Georgia, not even Tennessee.
Oh, they loved him there too.
I can understand why they grew with him
and they got to see him do a lot of things.
But Tommy Rich with the fucking bangs ruins the idea that he won the NW.
The fact that he won the NWA title of Bangs bothers me.
Of all the looks he had, that was the worst one.
At that point, he was starting to balloon up.
I don't know.
I wish he had not had the bangs when he beat Harley Race.
You should have seen him.
I think the most popular he ever was in Memphis
was when Lawler was constantly humiliating him
and beating the shit out of him.
And he burned him with a fireball.
And he beat him bloody every week.
And then they,
they took a pair of scissors and hacked his fucking hair up, right?
The beautiful blonde hair where he,
I think he had bangs in too and he was like 19 or whatever.
And they hacked his hair up and he kept it.
Jerry Jared had him keep it that way.
And he went around the territory for two or three weeks looking like he'd had
chemotherapy on half of his head and his long on the other side.
Because that got him so much sympathy.
I bet they,
when he was 18, when he first,
started within six months they put him and tojo tojo helped train him in the ring
in against teams like the von stigers and all these fucking heels that would just beat the shit
out of Tommy rich and he had the fire and made the comeback and it was just the more you kicked
the shit out of him the more over he got and his when he won a southern title from Lola
the first time his comeback was done.
Luller's punch hit the Thess Press,
one, two, three.
That was his entire comeback,
and the place exploded.
But then he started ballooning up,
as they say.
But to the point, the bangs when he was,
you know, first breaking in,
it's different than in 1980,
you know, 1981,
where all of a sudden...
He has the longer hair.
He's not the little kid anymore,
and it just, it was a bad look.
He looked like the member of Paul Revere
and the radio.
He made Harley Race look like the fashionable one.
Harley Race had a perm in that match.
That's right.
Poor Harley.
We tried to stay up with the times with hairstyles every once in a while,
and it didn't.
We've already bleached it blonde again when he was like 50 or whatever.
Nevertheless, back to the picture so we can continue on with the program.
But the portfolio is Memphis, Jerry Lawler, Bill, Indeed, Jimmy, Vali,
Lance Russell, Dutch Mantell, the fabulous ones,
Jackie Fargo, Jared, Jared, the Rock and Roll Express, Tojo Yamamoto,
and Jimmy Hart, the happiest he's ever been.
You were on the selection committee of trying to narrow it down to the absolute best stuff,
and you said this was the happiest you've ever seen Jimmy Hart.
Back when he was a spry young man and only his late 30s,
He always looks so young.
It looks like someone said like, hey, you're getting married today.
Here's a private photographer to follow you around while you enjoy life.
I don't know if he looked at happy.
He was getting married, but nevertheless.
And we will talk more about all of these things as the weeks go on.
And by the way, everybody can go to Jimcournett.com starting, I believe, Saturday, September.
and you'll be able to see what's going on and all the information on this as well as
there's one of a kind stuff discount prices on some of the things we've already had as closeouts,
new things, blah, blah, blah, but the great wrestling champions, I will also mention
Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkle, Dick the Bruiser, Billy Robinson, Ken Patera, but a couple of these.
And by the way, there's 11, 8 by 10s in each portfolio along with the
certificate of authenticity.
I think there's something nobody has ever seen,
or you tell me was this in the wrestling news?
Brian, this was the only place this would have ever been in print.
Pictures of Paul Orndorf when he won the Southern title here in Memphis,
the old Southern junior heavyweight belt that they were still using.
I think this one that's in the wrestling champions portfolio,
I don't believe it's been in print or seen before,
but this was Paul Orndorff.
He'd been wrestling for three months,
and he had just beaten Lawler for the Southern title.
It was the first belt he ever had.
And I took a picture of him 30 minutes later,
so this is the first picture of Paul Lorndorf ever as a wrestling champion.
You remember the one he's got his,
he's got the belt on, he's got his blue fucking track pants on,
he's all jacked up even then
and he's got his hands out
like he's going to grab somebody
you remember that
if you haven't seen it nobody's seen
I will have to go through the files
and check to see what we have
and what we could claim ownership on
but hey you could claim
first printing of
the Paul Ellaring photo looks so good
it's so clear the belt looks great
and Ellering is so young and happy
looks like he's auditioning for Lords of Flatbush
here in this photo
that's another I went for
some deep cuts on this because nobody has seen in 45 years the pictures of precious Paul
Ellering as a jacked-up bodybuilder wrestler and because they know him so well for being
the manager of the road warriors but for god what four years actually not even Paul started he
broke in he was trained by Ganya's camp and
broke in up there in 78.
He was a giant, massive
bodybuilder at the time himself. His
definition put hawk and
animal to shame.
And his first territory
out anywhere,
Vern, because he had a relationship with
Jerry Jarrett sent Paul to Memphis.
And he came in
the same time, Billy Robinson, in
late 79,
uh, no, yes,
late 79ish.
And
Paul was just kind of as a baby face, right?
He hadn't got his personality yet.
But by the time that he'd been here a while
and they turned him heel and put him with Jimmy Hart
and he got the precious Paul thing
and he's the subject of the promo.
Remember when Jimmy Hart had Lawler's crown,
Lawler broke his leg.
Hart gave the crown to press.
precious Paul, remember?
So what do you do with a racehorse when he breaks his leg?
You shoot him.
So.
And Paul Ellering became the king,
uh, showing that you could take people with charisma and put that crown on him.
And it doesn't work for everyone.
It didn't work for him.
It didn't work for Jimmy Valiant a couple of years later in Mid-Atlantic.
And then I guess Lawler claims that he really got mad at Jimmy Hart for that promo, right?
Like when he came back, he really wanted to slug him.
Well, yeah, well, here was the thing.
And by the way, Paul got it, didn't get, Paul wasn't meant to get over as the king.
It was just the idea of they were getting heat on Lawler's departed corpse by giving away his crown, right?
Later on with precious Paul, he came out and he didn't come out.
You know what I mean?
His personality came out and he was a promo.
And then he started doing the superstar Billy Graham thing in Mid-South.
And then he had the injuries.
That's what happened.
But this picture of Paul is when he was the Southern champion.
when he had first switched heel and joined Jimmy Hart.
But the promo story was that Jerry Jared had told Lawler numerous times,
don't be goddamn playing that fucking football games on Sundays with your friends.
Because Calhoun was in on it and some of the other guys that were job guys
that were friends of Lawlers around Memphis.
And it was supposed to be flagged football, but it was they got rough, right?
and Jared was telling Lawler, you know, you'll sink the fucking territory if you fuck yourself up basically playing football.
And what happened?
Not only did Lawler fuck himself up playing football, Calhoun's the one that did it.
He almost got fired too.
And so Lawler did not know when he tuned in the following Saturday's program that Jimmy Hart was going to say,
what do you do with a racehorse when he breaks his leg you shoot him and gave his that was jarritt said
all right here's what we're going to fucking do and lawler found out about it by watching television
having not been consulted and was not enamored of the whole thing at first and then you know
but that's why that jimmy always said that night in louisville when he did the luller had come
back to be ringside and it makes me he wasn't wrestling you
yet with the broken leg, but he could be handcuffed to Jimmy Hart.
And I've got the picture of that when he slug Jimmy and broke his jaw.
Jimmy's face looks like one of those power slap fucking people.
And it can go either way.
Many people thought he did it on purpose because that was his receipt for the fucking
racehorse line.
But it is very hard to throw up a right-handed punch and gauge.
your gauge your shot correctly when your left hand is handcuffed to somebody.
So, you know, it could have gone either way.
But nevertheless, precious Paul Ellering by Cracky and all of those folks in the wrestling
champions portfolio.
And like I said, all other kinds of cool stuff we're going to be talking more about
as the weeks go on.
But the sale begins Saturday, October 3rd.
and you can see all the information starting Saturday, September 19th.
And everybody can have a Merry Christmas.
Stuff these in your stockings.
Well, don't do that because that may bend the photos.
That would be a bad idea.
That's true.
And we have gone to such ridiculous links to find the folios that we can put these things in
so that they've got the nice pages with the sleeves.
You can either take the photos out if you'd like to,
them or you can leave them in the protective sleeves in the folio and set it on your coffee table.
And when folks come over, you can say, let me show you my beautiful portrait of Dick the Brews.
All right, at Jimcournett.com, Cornett's collectibles. Stay tuned. We have more about this in the
weeks ahead, too. More details on some of these photos. Jim, we have a lot to get through today.
We have AEW all in London. We have W.RWA. We have W.Rall.
at least whatever you saw of it.
We have the Velveteen Dreams
boxing debut
and some other odds and ends
here we'll get to, but
before too much time goes on,
I know you watched it, and people
were asking for you to watch it.
Let's talk about the finals of the G1
climax in New Japan.
Oh, good Lord. I forgot
because we were going to do that last week
or talk about that last week and other
things arose and then
we got hungry or something.
I know a lot of people were were praising it to the heavens and I know there was some discourse about it.
And here's the thing.
I hate to be and I don't want to come off as negative because I'd never seen either one of these two guys.
And I don't have their names written down in front of me.
So I'm not going to try to butcher that because I have nothing against these folks.
but it was two guys that I had not seen before
and they were apparently
went out with the thought of trying to have
how would you phrase it Brian as
legitimate or as credible or as
realistic a pro wrestling match
I guess as you could have in today's environment
and they were applauded for that
because it was a departure and it was different
from what everybody, for the folks who haven't seen this, did I kind of summarize why
everybody was talking about?
It was to a lot of people a old school match where they...
That's the word a lot of people used. I was searching for.
And a lot of people focused on the idea that they worked a hold as opposed to did flips,
went through tables, et cetera, et cetera, which unfortunately have become so commonplace that
you expect it.
Yes, and it also, it was, the hold was a headlock.
So they were being really basic that they were working through the, you know,
and back to through the match.
So again, I don't want to be negative.
They did a wonderful job at what they were trying to do.
And for the New Japan audience, it's more familiar with them.
That's probably why they got more into it than I did.
But for me, it was still a little dry.
and I guess this is the thing
is that pro wrestling
needs the legitimacy
and the credibility of a contest, of a competition,
but part of the reason why that it evolved to begin with
and now people go, now a Cordette wants to evolve.
I'm talking about from the pre-television era
was because people's attention spans
did get a little shorter,
but also
the personalities
were able to be
brought out with television.
And that's more than
that had more effect on
the style of in-ring wrestling
than the people
just demanding that it change.
It had to be sped up because of television
and also the flashier people
started getting more of the attention
instead of the flashier wrestlers.
So there was some element of evolution that had to go on.
But when I'm watching this, and this is what I try to explain with a lot of times with the AEW crowd,
that thinks it because these guys have been partners in a faction in Japan for the past four years,
that everybody watching in Des Moines, Iowa ought to know instantly they're all friends.
I'm looking at two guys who I've never heard speak.
I've never seen wrestle before.
They kind of, to be honest,
look like the same pudgy guys.
You know, not pudgy, but the same kind of guys on the smaller side
without really a lot of fucking definition
that fucking have weird haircuts that you see
working for Tony Kahn that work for New Japan.
I don't see a charismatic fucking,
I know nobody looks like Antonio Inoki anymore,
either physically or with the aura or the charisma or the
genetics or what,
he was like the rock of Japanese wrestlers.
He just, as a look, he had it.
But I think back to the previous generation of guys there,
like I do when I think of the previous generation of guys here,
that looked like stars.
Did either one of these guys strike you as a Fujinami or a Maida or a goddamn
Kimura or any of the guys that Anoki had that looked like they could kick the shit out
of you and run the marathon after doing it and had the intensity?
Secondly, it was dry to me because it was,
was, yes, that was all the basics of wrestling,
but one of the reasons for pro wrestling being a little out there
is because there was a while, yeah, you got to fucking fire up
and shoot the guy off and backdrop him and drop kick him,
and he's got to take the big bump over the top rope.
You open it up for the high spots.
You have to have, that doesn't mean that you've got to fucking throw people
off the goddamn lighting rigs through multiple tables that are on fire covered in burning glass
or whatever the fuck.
We have, we've got to the point where people are so used to excess that they then remark
when somebody strips it all the way down to the word fucking go and just kind of does that
without trying to throw in all the shit that made pro wrestling.
And the thing that everybody keeps overlooking
is instead of,
don't be acrobats doing fucking choreographed routines
at 100 miles an hour to the point where people can't keep track of it,
or stunt men falling through furniture
and fucking broken glass and flamethrowers
and electrocuting each other.
Don't do that.
And don't go back to the fucking 15-minute
fucking headlock
that everybody claims and thinks
territory wrestling was
when they weren't there to see
that it was a whole lot
goddamn faster-paced
and more exciting on the whole
than what we are getting fed today
for many outlets.
But in the middle of all of that,
the personalities are what may be,
pro wrestling.
Not just the promos and the gimmicks,
but the way that those guys
with those promos and gimmicks,
then when performed their shit in the ring?
It's all equally important,
but you can't overdo
any of it,
nor can you goddamn leave any of it out.
Do you understand the words
that are coming out of my mouth, Brian?
I understand what you're saying,
and by and large, I agree with you.
you. I did enjoy the match. I thought it was a good match. The one guy's trunks were way too small.
So there was some... That was a little off-putting. Yeah, there was some uncomfortable camera angles for no good reason.
There wasn't anything in matter with it. They did a great basic, you know, wrestling, pro wrestling match with no hoo-ha.
I'm not saying there's anything a matter with it. But continue on. I'm sorry.
I do think you have a point, though, and you know, it's one of the reasons why I'm not too familiar with these guys.
and I don't watch that much New Japan right now
other than, you know, a brief period
where they really kind of got me back
when Nakamura was still there,
AJ Stiles was still there,
I feel like New Japan is a perfect encapsulation
even though there's more outlaw shit
of how badly America
American wrestling
affected Japanese wrestling.
You have to take away the problems they had
because of the legitimacy of pride, an MMA, which destroyed the faux legitimacy that Anoki and Baba
had done so well getting out there, but still.
And Inoki's constant out of the ring issues, not doing anything for their reputation.
But still, it doesn't, it doesn't really feel like traditional or class, it shouldn't.
I mean, that's a long time ago, but it feels like it's been a...
Americanized in a lot of ways.
Everyone has their haircut, you know?
I'm not saying everyone has to be, you know, in black trunks, like Kengo, Camaro,
whatever it may be.
But I don't know, it doesn't.
And even you look ringside.
I mean, again, cultures change, people change.
I mean, they used to be people that suits everywhere.
I didn't see one person in a suit.
I saw like the common fan sitting rigside.
So it's like, okay, what exactly is going on over there?
Fashion aside, here's a thing is that in the day when they were at their most popular,
the, you know, all Japan and New Japan, and they were neck and neck, 70s and 80s,
I liked Baba's American talent better than his Japanese talent,
and I liked Anoki's Japanese talent better than his American talent.
And I'm not saying that Jumbo was not a bad worker,
but he was like, I did, the personality, okay,
but he was all because he got trained by the Funks,
and he was always the one that got the big matches
with Terry or whoever.
So I'm going to watch him,
but Anoki's guys looked like fucking badasses,
like they would beat the shit out of you,
and they had that fire and emotion
that you could get with and believe
it wasn't some little fucking pasty-faced fucking shod.
shrimp with a weird haircut firing up.
It was goddamn Fujianami.
He's going to hit somebody with the fucking rocket.
God damn it.
Baba's guys seem like they would be good to have a drink with.
Yeah.
And Anoki's guys seem like they'd do a thousand squats and they kick you in the legs.
Yeah, they were some kind of monks that were going to take you on a forced march to Nepal.
That's right.
I'm like, don't fuck with these motherfuckers.
And that's why I'm glad they had all the Germans and the Europeans and the British guys
in there to fight them because fuck, I don't want them to.
kick the shit out of all the Americans,
we'll have nothing left here.
But it was just,
that's the point is they've done the same thing.
The guys are trying to pay homage to
what they have seen and heard from the past,
but they don't look the parts
and there's so much
Americanization of the matches that it's either
just crazy nonsense
or it's stripped down bare bones,
here we go.
And again, I thought it was a good match.
People were going gaga over it, like it was the greatest thing.
I don't think it's the greatest thing.
I thought it was really good.
You know, Strangle Lewis would be proud.
Yeah.
He was the last guy to use a headlock as a finishing maneuver.
Is there already going to have?
And I think George Gordienko would have stood up and applauded.
He would have applauded.
He would have gotten into a country eventually used it as a finishing goal.
Well, he could get in Japan.
He just couldn't get in here.
And, you know what, as a matter of fact, thank God, too, for the, at least Joseph
McCarthy did one good thing.
Could you imagine if Fez had dropped the NWA title to Gordi Enko?
There would have been six promoters as members of the NWA at the end of the year.
Well, so your final verdict on the G1 climax.
Well, no, it was, it was, I understand why people were making over it.
And I'm at the same time somewhat disheartened that it's come to this in this day and age.
How's that for a summation?
All right.
I think that's a pretty good summation.
Thank you for watching that match.
Again, a lot of listeners wanted to hear your thoughts.
Jim, speaking to things that the listeners wanted to hear your thoughts about, let me pull this up.
I regret to inform you that Rick Flair has been on Twitter again.
Oh, God, almighty.
It's a new issue.
I mean, if that makes you feel a little better, it's a new feud.
It's a new issue.
It's supposed to be like Reader's Digest.
They have one a week.
Well, here's the first of three.
This one was from August 30th, 204 p.m.
He attached a picture of himself in various robes.
There's a whole bunch of pictures here.
It was a phenomenal weekend in Philadelphia.
And thank you very much to Dynasty Sports PA.
and Steve Solomon.
Woo!
Unfortunately,
it has come to my attention
that my robes are being sold
by people who don't own them
or have a receipt from me.
If they do,
they are more than welcome to.
If they don't,
just like Tiffany Vandermark,
who stole five of them,
as of tomorrow,
my attorney will seek legal
documentation. Excuse me, that was the next sentence.
As of tomorrow, we'll seek legal.
We'll seek legal. We'll seek legal documentation. And if you don't have it, you will be expecting
a letter from my attorney in Boston. I can't imagine why anybody would...
Wait a minute. Wait a minute. If you've already heard from his attorney,
why would... then he then write you a letter. He's already talking to you. Well, it says that he will,
Well, maybe it's not the one from Boston, but let me get back to the nature.
Oh, he's got to, well, that's Boston legal.
I can't imagine why anybody would steal anything that I worked so hard for.
Not cool.
And I'm coming for you.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news.
But as I get older, I understand the importance of having some of my memorabilia.
Or maybe the value of having some of his memorabilia.
Well, you know, I always kind of like to have in mine when I've had it.
That's why I still have it.
But, well, there's so many questions here.
First of all, I get Tiffany, he was the previous relationship, right?
Were they married?
Wasn't that his wife?
Well, I said a previous relationship.
I haven't seen any legal papers.
I've not, there's always some controversy.
I'm just saying they were together.
Show me a marriage certificate.
And if my lawyer agrees with it, you'll hear from him.
Yeah.
But what I'm saying,
who,
apparently,
it doesn't sound like it was an official part of the divorce settlement.
It sounds like he's claiming she made off with five of these robes.
But if somebody has bought
unless somebody outright stole the robe from him at some location,
then whether we know that he's sold things, he's given things away,
who knows whether, I mean, I expect to see storage wars that open up and,
who knows what trail of stuff he may have left around.
How is he blaming people who are now selling these things,
when they may not have been the one that particularly fucking appropriated them after all this time.
And how would you go about keeping track of all the robes he's had and all the things that he's sold?
And did he write a bill of sale for everything he's ever sold?
Because actually, that's nothing.
All of my ringworn stuff has always come with a letter.
So I would be able to audit that type of thing.
But nevertheless, you see all these questions I got.
Yeah, I do.
And I would have a lot of those questions, too.
How many robes are robes that he sold previously?
How many robes that he lost?
I mean, there was the story of the black robe, I think, on a WWE show, right?
Where they found it in a hotel room as a Kingsport?
Like it was right outside.
Yeah, right?
It was a hotel over there.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
The other thing I do wonder.
because I remember the situation with the belt several years back
are any of these robes, robes that he used
as collateral for something?
I don't know.
But he's done that before with other things, so I do wonder.
Well, there was, at least on one of the collateral situations,
it was money against, I remember seeing it,
robes and or memorabilia
that he had at the time.
So, but whether that's been cleared up, I don't know.
And Tiffany Vandemark is the former wife of Rick Flair from 2006 to 2009.
I believe she was the way I asked.
I need to go down to the Mecklenburg County courthouse to verify that.
Just who knows what, what's going on these days.
He said he and Wendy were married until they weren't married,
but then they separated,
but they were getting back together,
but only as friend.
Let's say if you still got it.
But Jim,
the other thing to point in the note here
is that tagged in this...
Early, is the aisle wheelchair accessible at this point?
Tagged in this as Dynasty Sports PA
and Steve Solomon,
but also the big event N.
Which is another wrestling convention,
so...
I was at one of those big events
probably about 10 years ago now.
Shee, Jesus Christ,
a fucking traffic.
and it was very crowded in that wonderful hotel.
I can't believe that that hotel,
that must have been a front
for some kind of mafia organization or something,
that that hotel would let these
100 or so wild fucking animal wrestlers
and all these crazy wrestling fans
pack every inch of that place
had to violate some kind of fucking zoning up there.
Is that the hotel opposite LaGuardia?
Is that the one you're talking about?
Yes, yes.
You think this is a problem?
And when Oresi did his convention in 93, and he had the sheik,
the sheik was like running around the lobby chasing people.
People in the hotel had no idea what was going on.
But Jim, Rick Flair, after that tweet,
I'm sure you can imagine because of his history on Twitter,
started hearing it from fans.
Things like stay off Twitter, why are you doing this?
Stop.
Some support too.
So at 418 on August 30th, he tweeted this out.
after reading your comments, I am very humored.
So I have a new saying,
My robes are worth more than your house.
Rather than my shoes, it's now my robes.
And FYI, it's a felony,
and that shouldn't be taken lightly.
And also, I'm a long ways away from OJ.
I haven't even started drinking yet
What in the world?
How did OJ come up?
Where did OJ come into this?
It was actually the line that got me was I haven't even started drinking yet.
If you think I'm bad now, wait until three hours from now.
So again, we don't know what kind of comments he's getting for people.
Let me go back to this.
I'm a long ways away from O.J.
I haven't even started drinking yet.
So get ready for the next couple hours.
Oh, Jesus.
He did say.
I've been fighting with a mess.
American Airlines.
Oh, no.
Just trying to get back to Tampa.
On the way to the bar
as I post this,
you know where to find me.
Come join me.
And if you have one of my robes,
bring it with you.
I will buy all your drinks.
Whoa!
He was going to sue him a while ago.
Now he's buying all the drinks.
Bring back the robe.
You get free drinks.
at the airport until his plane arrives.
It's a great deal.
Sounds like a great deal.
And what airport?
He said where he was going?
Where is he at?
He didn't specify.
He didn't say.
He's in a feud with American Airlines.
This is his newest feud.
And he's just trying to get back to Tampa.
I guess he was in Philadelphia, he said.
Maybe he's still there or I don't know.
I guess he would still be in, oh my God.
But I'm a long ways away from O.J.
In the middle of this out of nowhere.
What do you think?
out of nowhere, but that, you know, that could be used as evidence in who knows what later on.
And secondly, is it a good idea to say with all of his previous publicity and problems,
I haven't even started drinking yet.
But now I'm on the way to the bar.
Yeah, this is good.
Just wait.
Now we've got a pissed off Rick Flair who feels like people have stolen shit from him,
imbibing at an airport bar
that is under federal
fucking law enforcement rule.
This can't end well, can it?
Well, there's another tweet here, Jim,
like it's a social media stairmaster.
If you think I am bullshitting about my robes,
Steve Solomon,
who has more money than God,
just offered me $200,000
for this gold robe.
There's a picture of the gold robe there.
Whoever has it?
Better send it to me ASAP.
Whoever has it?
I will stop it nothing to get it back.
Whoever has it,
I will personally make the trip
to come get it with my lawyer.
And FYI,
memorabilia theft, is a felony.
So there we have it.
Didn't it?
didn't OJ did have
he didn't have a lawyer with him
when he went to get his stuff but it didn't turn out well either
and say that's an old expression of flares
he's got more money than God
but it again
you can't threaten someone
with a blanket with a felony
when you don't if you don't even know where it is
you don't know how that person came into possession of
and they could have been the victim of somebody
who ended up with it through nefarious means
and then sold it at a fucking convention
and then what do you get?
Granny from fucking Pittsburgh buys it
and suddenly the feds are knocking on her door
and they're going to cuff her?
No, they might abscond with the robe or whatever
but that's only again
if there would be some type of
necessity of going to court and proving the
providence and lineage and all this shit before
anybody would be penalized, wouldn't there?
I mean, there's a lot going on.
If you can point to a police report where you file, you know,
yes, like when the belts have been stolen in the past,
it would have stolen out of Bruno's car,
the WWWF belt after a garden show one night,
or the AWA belt.
You file a police report,
then you have at least some beginning point
to want to file charges against somebody
when you find out who's got it.
And you know, the OJ thing is,
you know, I guess you're probably right,
it's probably about the memorabilia,
but you can't discount the fact
that he just brought up his ex-wife
in the middle of it.
So you have two different ends of OJ,
two different crimes that OJ committed.
What?
In the same email chain here,
or Twitter chain.
I should say.
The O.J. Simpson,
pick your poison challenge.
Does he go for his wife,
or does he go for his memorabilia?
What do you think Steve Solomon thinks about all this,
whoever that may be?
He's got more money than God.
He just offered me $200,000 for this.
We finally got to the,
you know, he cut to the chase at the end.
I got offered 200 grand for this robe.
Where is this robe?
You think he was sitting in Philadelphia
with whoever the Steve Solomon is,
and Steve Solomon said,
I'd give you $200 grand if you had that robe.
Oh, son of a bitch.
Now he's trying to find it.
Here we go.
Yeah, again, we've talked about it in the past with some of Rick's things,
and this is a whole different angle, because this is him in his own unique way,
kind of putting it out there to the public to help him, again, in a very unique way.
Is this the proper way to go about finding this or getting whoever has it to take any of this seriously?
I can't help but think there must be a better plan.
I haven't really sit and thought of it.
I think if you've still got stuff that you can sell
and or that you want to sell and that you can make money on
and certainly I do that from time to time, that's great.
I think also if your shit was so,
stolen in a particular place that you know you know somebody took this and where and how and
you've tried to go to the cops and some you end up finding a person with this type of stuff
at the very least they need to confiscate it, get you your shit back and inquire with these people
as to whether they're the ones that stole it.
But if shit's just out there because it's moves or it's family members,
you know, taking things out of the castle or whatever the case.
I think that's one of those things that when somebody's as successful as
Flair is, he either ought to just say, well, shucks, that's one of the things I wish
hadn't happened or find some way to, if you get 200 grand for a fucking rogue,
offer somebody 25 grand as a starting point if they can come up with that some bitch.
Yeah, why put that out there?
I'll put you under, I'll put you under the jail.
Oh, I'm going to raise my hand or I'm going to give you 25 grand.
Shit, I'm going to stay away from him.
See, that's, and then you've made 175 grand and you've,
I think he's scaring anybody off that,
that also might believe that he has lawyers in Boston or Tampa or anywhere else
that are going to do these things.
This isn't the first time.
Why does he stress the in Boston,
part.
Well, I don't know because I, you know, I knew his lawyers 30 years ago or 35 years ago or
whatever.
They were all in Atlanta and Charlotte, but he's moved up and on in the world.
I see something here.
Bob Trowbridge, kiss my ass.
Yes.
Well, this is me.
Well, just don't tell Dennis Guthrie what's going on for heaven saying.
He'd be ashamed of all of his protegees at this.
I haven't even started drinking yet.
But Jim, that's the Rick Flair Twitter update.
And of course, Rick Flair right now, hoping for some prizes.
Some prizes that just so happens were his.
But he's hoping prizes end up right in his lap.
It could be the black robe, the red robe, the blue robe, the green robe, the white robe.
But he's also looking especially for that gold robe.
I don't know how this all gets back together, but prize picks, Jim.
they are there for other picks for prizes.
It's more or less, more or less six robes, right?
You can pick two to six players on prize picks
and then pick more or less on their projected stats
like the passing yards and the rushing yards
and the fantasy score and all that type of stuff.
So you ought to be able to pick two to six robes
and how many is he going to get back
by threatening people with public beheading?
See, that's the kind of thing.
You know, just download the Price Picks app right now, folks.
Not only are they an official daily fantasy partner of the NBA,
not only are they all over all the sports from NBA to NFL, MLB,
women's basketball, FIFA.
They do all that stuff all year round.
If there's sports going on, they do it, but also they could be on top of,
more or less, of whether Rick Flair reigns in his merchandise or not,
or whether he tracks down that elusive gold rub.
Just go to prize picks, download the app,
and click on Rick Flair's latest tweet
and pick more or less on whether or not more
or less a thousand people are going to tell him
to put his phone down.
Of course, all kidding aside,
they have other legitimate picks to make on prize picks
that are not centered around Rick Flair in his robe.
But they wouldn't be that much fun.
Well, I guess if you like the football
and the baseball and the basketball and the FIFA,
And all of those things, I guess it would be that fun.
But here's what makes it more fun, Brian.
New users.
New users.
If you are out there, I'm punching my hand with my fist, so I'm making this comment.
New users, if you were out there, I'm talking to you right now.
I'm laying it on the line to you right now.
People who haven't experienced the prize picks fantasy before.
You don't need a poll.
You don't need fancy neon signs outside a club.
It's going to charge you too much for watered down liquor and women of questionable repute.
No, I'm talking about the sports fantasy.
If you sign up right now, if you win your first $5 lineup,
you will get $150 in lineups.
Just boom, just like that.
You win your first $5 lineup, you get $150 in lineups.
And I'll tell you what, whether it's $5 or $150, it's money in today's environment.
And now prize picks is available nationwide, all 50 states.
Hawaii's still with us, right?
You don't hear much about them anymore.
No, we are still with you.
Well, there you go.
And I know that Washington states trying to get away as quickly as possible.
But nevertheless, they're nationwide right now.
So what are you waiting for?
Lock in for the kickoff or the tip off or the blast off?
What do they do in baseball, Brian?
And what is the line of demarcation there?
It's not a tip off or a kickoff.
They bat off, pitch off?
The first pitch.
Well, there's got to be an off in there or something.
Something's got to be off about it.
No, there's nothing off.
It's on.
It's the first pitch.
And now the game is on.
Well, and pretty soon the game will be over.
And so will your chances.
So right now, go to prize picks.
Use the code JCE.
That's our code, folks, and you'll get $150 in lineups instantly.
If you win your first $5 lineup, that's $150 in lineups.
Instantly, if you win your first $5 lineup, you know what instantly is.
Boom, it's just like that.
You're not just quick, you're sudden.
Prize picks, run your game.
Well, you wouldn't be running the game.
you let somebody else take the financial risk of actually running the game and you just
you just sit back and try to pick and win right once again the promo code j c e for prize picks
yes pick more or less sour notes that brian last is going to hit in the course of an average
television or a podcast program well this television show is going to take a break that wasn't very
nice. We'll be right back, ladies and gentlemen, after this short commercial timeout.
We are back. This chair is squeaking. We're back.
Oh, boy. Jim, you sound excited to be here today.
Well, I know, just your chair squeaking. It's always some issue. A poor workman
blames his tools, as Mama Cornett used to say. Well, Jim, I don't know how to make a transition
from that to anything else, but we will just do it. Talk about poor workman.
Well, what we're talking about is AEW, their big.
There you go.
Of the year, one of their biggest events of all time, we could say, all in 2026, London, England, Wembley Stadium, a big night, a big main event.
Of course, people want to know what you thought of it.
I don't know how much of the pre-show you saw, but it was a whole lot of show.
I didn't see any of the pre-show.
I was lucky I saw the show, which I will talk about first, instead of going into excruciating detail on a variety of the things they did on the
show. I told
it's been a year now that my
local cable spectrum
demolished or abolished
their pay-per-view channels. You can't
order a pay-per-view
on spectrum
here in the Louisville area. I guess
you remember me talking about this. That's why I've been
getting it on prime video, right?
Because it's been like a year.
And on the television
guide, the pay-per-view channel is just
next event coming soon for a
fucking year, right? So,
I go to Prime Video like I always do.
And I search for AEW special events like I always do.
It says AW all in London.
And it's confusing also because they've got the buy-in
which who, unless you already watch this shit,
would know what that is to begin with.
Pre-show might possibly communicate something.
but I click on AEW all in London, boom, bought that son of a bitch.
So I go back later on because it's an afternoon program.
I figure I'll wait until about 2.30 where I can zip through some things.
And I'll start this episode.
I go to the goddamn prime video and I click on the AEW, you bought this?
Yeah, okay, boom.
and it says events going to start
in a couple of fucking minutes or whatever
and then they showed me commercials
for like 18 minutes
and I don't know whether this was because
I'm going in late anyway.
I didn't know whether this because it's late
or they just popped in and I don't know what the fuck.
But then when the show starts suddenly,
boom, there's the ring, there's the stadium,
15 people in the ring and Brian
the commentary is in fucking
Spanish oh my god
and I'm like what the fuck now there's 15
people fighting in the ring it's a long
shot I can barely tell who anybody is anyway
because half these motherfuckers I dare
you on the hard camera shot to tell me
Doyle from Davis and they're
speaking Spanish to me and I'm
what the fuck I'm trying to is there a way to change
I don't know how to change the language.
I don't know if that's a thing you can do.
And I'm trying to go back to the home thing.
And when I ordered it, the description was in English.
And all the commercials they played me were in fucking English.
And now I'm watching the puppies while Stace is taking a nap.
I don't want to go up the office and try to get on the internet
and figure out if they're broadcasting his thing to every.
everybody in Spanish.
I mean, what the fuck?
And I can't get anything else on when I go back to the home page on the prime,
it takes,
so,
so I'm watching it in fucking Spanish.
Not that there's anything wrong with Spanish as relates to any other language in the world,
except I don't fucking speak it.
So it's hard enough to understand what's going on on these shows to begin with,
just when they're speaking English to you in A-E-W.
But nevertheless, this was apparently the buy-in, or not the buy-in,
but the continuation of the buy-in match where it was however many teams of three people
were all fighting to see who was going to be the six-man tag team champions.
And I didn't even write down who's, Brian, do you want to go to the internet?
Does anybody care who was in this thus far?
It was like there was Adam Page,
Swerve Strickland,
and a bunch of guys from the mid-card.
Well, tell you what,
why don't we quickly just run down
what you missed on the pre-show
because that was technically the end of the pre-show.
Oh, Christ.
Because of the introductions.
Well, I should have known that
when they kept saying over a pre-show, pre-show.
Jim, Leo Rush and the Rosse and the Rosk
defeated the ops.
What happened to Felix Cavalry?
Well, they defeated the ops of Hook, Shabbata, Bowens, and Action Andretti.
That's the ops now?
And nine minutes and ten seconds.
Wait a minute.
What is it?
That's opposites from all the ops they used to have.
Were any of those operators ops before our Shabbata's there?
Yeah, well.
It was kind of like a...
They need a brain.
...in training.
Harley Cameron and Chris Statland.
defeated the Sisters of Sin
Julia Harton's Sky Blue
9 minutes 55 seconds
Here's one you can file under
Oh that's where they are
Boom and Doom
Big Boom A.J.
And QT. Marshall
And the Hurt Syndicate.
What?
Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin
with Big Justice
defeated Shane Taylor Promotions
of Shane Taylor,
Lee Moriarty,
not Charlie,
Carly Bravo,
and Captain Sean Dean
with Christian XO
and Trish Adora.
11 minutes and 25 seconds.
No,
that's why I wanted to read you the results,
it is another match too,
but I hadn't even thought about
where's the heart syndicate,
and here they are
on the pre-show of Boom and Doom.
Teaming up with
a
internet
fucking
what would you call him
person
and being managed
by his fat son
well he's a kid
let's leave him alone
well he's in a kid
at Wimbley Stadium
people
have knocked Michael Jackson's
fucking singing or Donnie Osmond
too if they're gonna goddamn do it
he's fat
he's a fat child
Jesus Christ
all right
All right, I pack off,
and I'll get you to stop yelling about it.
All right.
God, damn.
But the point is you've got Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin.
You've got him on the pre-show
being managed by a fat child
and teaming with his fat father
and a fucking wrestling trainer.
And you flew this internet phenomenon
who talks about cookies from Costco
or whatever his fucking gimmick is.
You flew him to England?
You flew him to fun.
Do they have Costco in England?
Do they have cookies in England?
They had biscuits.
What is this fucking make a wish?
And by the way, the opening match on the pre-show was an eight-man tag match,
then a female tag match.
And now this is another eight-man tag match.
There's a lot of people for the pre-show.
At $50,000 in trance, it was unnecessary for this fucking giant vanity project.
Let's let everybody play.
Persephone
defeated Maya World
to win the AEWTBS Championship
11 minutes, 50 seconds.
On the pre-show.
And of course, helping her,
unmasking after helping her,
the returning Dr. Britt Baker DMD.
On the pre-show?
Of course, to get you hyped up for the pay-per-view.
Here's the return of Britt Baker on the pre-show.
No, you know what that was?
that was
Britt Baker said
fuck I don't want to miss
being a Wembley stuff
was she in any of the other Wembley
stadiums
I think so I think so yes
she hasn't been on AWTV
I want to say and it has to be two years
because this
this can't have been planned
far ahead of time or they would have done
something more with it if she was going to
come back and stay
or did she just I don't want to miss this
Oh, sure. Come up. We're flying the Costco guy and his obese child. Oh, come on now.
Well, maybe because she's so skinny, maybe they got a half price rate for her, even though they got charged double for the kid.
I think there's been a softening in the Cold War between Tony Khan and Britt Baker.
I think there's been a softening in the fucking membranes between Tony Khan's ears.
But she's now with Persephone, so that is our new combination.
What do you think the perception of that will be?
Jim, we now go to the Trio's Championship match, which is where you began.
Here are the participants.
Wow, this match went 39 minutes.
Holy shit.
Jesus H. Christ!
The dogs of David Finley, Clark Connors, and Gabe Kidd.
The demand of Rickashay, Bishop Kahn, and Toa Leona.
The death riders of Claudio Castignoli,
Pock, and Wheeler Yuda.
The conglomeration of Orange Cassidy,
Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong.
The Bang Bang Gang,
comprised of Jay White,
Austin Gun, and Colton Gun.
Hangman Adam Page and Brodito,
Bandito and Brody King,
who were the champions coming into the match,
and I will let you reveal the final team.
well and that's about where they started the actual program so maybe the feed was dicking around until they goddamn got to the point where they started the actual program i don't know
but swerve and nana came out and they stopped and then they played some weird music and then here came the new day
only it ain't the new day it's the new level
the new level
is it's
they still
they had to be new something
what about if they just came out naked and said
here they are they're nude
the new level
and I do what are their names now
because again I'm listening to fucking Spanish
Coffey
is still Coffey
and Xavier Woods goes back to being Austin Creed.
Son of a gun. Well, there you go.
So I thought, this is what obviously the big rumor was and they teased it.
Not only, and I'm not saying that if they had been advertised,
it would have been a ticket seller maybe, but not thousands of tickets or whatever.
But how could they debut?
these guys in the most insanely worst way,
whether they win or not,
to make,
when they got in the ring,
it was a mess because there was already 15 guys in the ring,
and they got a flurry where they had set up,
where everybody fed them.
And then it went back to be in battle royal shit
with kicking and stomping and guys doing moves
and hopefully trying not to land on anybody behind them.
and then it just, it was flat-footed plotting shit.
And you had, again, you had Adam Page,
you had swerve, you had the new, new day,
and most of the rest of the fucking guys in the match,
the ones that hadn't been eliminated by that point,
were Drek.
Pockets was still involved.
But what I'm saying is,
I know they wanted to make a
Tony thinks in his mind making a big splash
is winning
these FACTA fucking six man belts
where they're not even the same
the only set of six man tag team champions
in the promotional umbrella
around Tony Khan
enterprises.
They got Ring of Otter six man champions too.
And maybe he's
there's nothing wrong with swerve,
introducing them.
Although one tends to wonder in both companies, why,
why is it always the black guy that introduces more black guys?
Royce Keys or, you see what I'm saying here, Brian?
Is it unseemly at best?
But the big point is, these guys were big stars for a long period of time,
whether I liked them or not.
with the pancakes and the unicorns and the horse shit.
They were big stars for the biggest company in the world,
and you bring them in in a 18-man, multiple-man cluster fuck,
unadvertised, and they're in the ring to do a couple of spots,
and then they get to win the six-man belts
that nobody gives a shit about.
There isn't a better way to insinuate them into your friends,
fucking programming.
But again, I'm criticizing this, and that's what I'm going to do.
But for the people who think that AEW is somehow good wrestling and or good booking,
this was goddamn just, well, you could just jack off to this for a fucking year this show.
Whole thing top to bottom.
But for someone who has actually done this and or worked for.
companies who do this and
are looking at the
goddamn indulgence of it.
The fucking
the pyro cost
as much as the first WrestleMania.
The fucking Wembley
Stadium, the goddamn
hundred guys on the
card, the 20 guys in one
match, the plane tickets, they're
keeping them in fucking
the UK for days,
the room and board.
the indulgence of everybody has to be involved in this because they're all our friends,
no matter what the cost,
and the excess of everybody getting to do everything that they have fun doing over and over
and getting paid a bunch of money by this fucking guy that has unlimited funds.
if I had Tony Kahn's money,
I could sell out Wembley Stadium.
I'd just hire the fucking Rolling Stones.
But he wants to do wrestling.
Where was I going with this?
We're talking about the trios tag match,
a big trios title changed,
a debut of the new level with Swerve,
who I think is now a baby face again.
Well, apparently, that's another thing.
I can't decide whether he wants to burn somebody's house down
or build him one.
so right because nana was just you know dancing in the happy way again he wasn't at all angry
you know what that's not ought to use that is his music to come out that fucking happy song
i can't hum it now but it's happy it makes you happy let's get back to the trios match that
made a lot of people happy well it ended up with the the new new day and swerve against
claudio pack and the bald guy in one of the
the bald guys.
Is he, what is his name?
Gabe Kidd.
There you go.
Well, they beat the new day like
mules in this part of it.
Just beat the shit out of them.
Kofi made a comeback and then Swerve eliminated
the bald guy, Gabe Kidd.
And then they double clothesline,
Claudio and pack out
and they won.
And I wrote huge baby faces,
thought Swerve was a heel.
But, you know,
again, just throwing everybody out there,
this should have been a major instance.
And then they had,
wasn't this where they had everybody walk out
and stand and stare at each other?
No, no, that was after the tag match.
That's after the tag, yeah, yeah.
Well, they had enough people standing and staring.
But so New Day, unadvertised,
in the overrun of a pre-show match,
They win middle card belts and don't get to do their shit with the focus on them.
I don't, okay, there we go.
They said in the press conference afterwards that the good thing about AEW is being a trios champion doesn't stop you from being able to challenge for other titles.
So this doesn't mean they can't go for the tag titles or swerve can't go for the world title.
Well, of course, because there's so many fucking pretty soon,
Everybody will have to have more than one belt
because there won't be enough wrestlers
to hold all Tony's belts.
Well, the brawling broads took on
Megan, brain and Lena Cross.
What now?
League of Cross? No, it was the Bowling Cross.
The Bowling Birds.
No, you don't call them that.
That's derogatory slang in Britain for women.
You shouldn't be misogynistic,
especially if you want them to give you a massage.
That's why you can't be genistic.
You just call them broads.
Well, I thought that's what they were.
I mean, yeah, who's the last person to use that in a broadcast?
Frank Sinatra.
He was going to say, how many years ago?
He's a big fucking star.
Look at that broad.
If Sinatra had been on this show, Wembley would have been sold out.
So on fast forward, this seemed to go a while.
And the brawling, broadie birds won with the Heart Foundation finish,
both of them covered the girl like the old midget spot and the referee counted it.
What did I miss on the fine points of things as we move along?
Not much.
It was kind of buck style, tornado tag, no rules, no one pushed out of the ring, but it's
not no DQ.
You just never really understand what triggers the disqualification or the referee doing anything
about anything.
But they got the big moment, which was the British tag team winning the world tag titles,
in Wembley Stadium and people seem pretty happy for them.
Well, and good for them.
Good, good for them, because everybody needs to be happy.
And good for the fans that are happy about the wrestlers being happy.
And I mean, again, folks, we'll talk about a couple of the matches,
but if you seriously want any kind of recap of what actually went on,
go read it on everybody's website.
As only here can you get the dissertation and breakdown of a,
everything that they did wrong and or, I mean, we can't at this point take any of this
seriously.
The Continental Championship Tournament Final was held with John Moxley, who was the Continental
Champion.
They're going to have to fucking go through the whole process again this year and defend it
against Nigel McGuinness.
I know Nigel.
Nigel worked for us in Ring of a World.
honor, not only as a commentator, but a wrestler in the early days, but I think Nigel's great.
I'm sorry that his career got cut short with the variety of issues he had medically that,
you know, he had problems with.
And also, he's coming in with an alleged broken ankle.
So they worked this tournament so that Nigel, who's British, who would be able to work in
Wembley Stadium in a tournament final with this fucking guy who beats everybody.
Edward, you can't get rid of Moxley no matter what you do.
He's like fungus on a shower curtain or a persistent case of venereal disease.
So now he's one of the ex-world champions and one of the top guys is going to go in and have a
goddamn match for about 20 minutes with a part-time wrestler who's been mostly an announcer
for the past 15 years with a broken ankle.
Badass.
Who could stop me now?
He ain't going to stop me now.
So I fast forwarded for a little while
and randomly stopped to see where they were at.
And I swear to God, I randomly landed on Moxley
doing the 10 punches in the corner.
And by the way, he's a goddamn,
he's the heel doing as to the baby face,
but he was doing the 10 punches in the corner
and was so clearly not hitting Nigel at all
that they had to cut the camera shot
to that wide shot of where they had with the lighting rig
and the big screen over the ring.
And just this obnoxious fake fuck,
Jesus, just to placate his tough guy fantasies
and because Tony Kahn is a mark for him,
this gibbering, dribbling fool
that thinks that Nick Gage should have been Secretary of
fucking State instead of Kissinger or something.
I'm sorry, but I just sometimes,
my personal opinions eke out.
I was thinking Commerce Secretary,
but I'll go with your pick.
So can you explain to me what happened?
Finally, Nigel hit Moxley with a big clothesline
and got a two count.
And then Moxley rolled over
and got the choke on him
and held him forever.
And then suddenly let go of his grip and started selling, leaning backwards, grimacing like the invisible man was pulling him off without Nigel moving or doing anything.
And he completely rolled off Nigel by himself and then Nigel just got him in an arm lock.
What happened there?
Were you even paying that close attention?
I can't explain what happened there.
I was paying attention.
I don't know.
I, it was like, again, the invisible man ran in from garbage wrestling,
where Moxley's next destination after his contract runs out here.
And then he got the arm block and Moxley teased tapping,
even though obviously and unfortunately clearly,
the arm block was a little loose.
And then he just rolled out of that and got the ankle lock on the bad ankle.
I'm sorry, go ahead.
If I could just say, you know, we've seen that before.
where Moxley's on the verge of tapping out or something,
and for everyone who wants to say, like, his facial expressions are good or anything,
every time it comes across his hammy,
you know he's not going to tap,
and he's making this exaggerated, silly face at the end of the day,
and I don't think that's good at all, and he did it here and was silly.
Everything is over, everything with everybody is over the top,
because they've been taught that they're performers,
rather than some of these things
need to be subtle every once in a while.
But anyway, more back and forth.
It wouldn't end until Moxley finally got the ankle lock again forever,
and then Nigel tapped.
Again, it's always a stationary, boring, fucking finish with this fucking guy.
But that was what we had there.
We saw a lot of British wrestlers win on the big show.
Will Osprey, the brawling birds.
Someone had to lose.
and unfortunately it was crippled Nigel
who I don't know if you noticed
because you were watching a Spanish commentary
came back out later to do commentary on the show in a wheelchair
Oh, I did notice that
and we'll get to that here in a little while
but yeah, it was good that he was able to be fucking resuscitated
to come back out of a fucking wheelchair to do commentary.
If anything happened to me
where I had needed to be in a wheelchair,
I believe I'd ask somebody else to fill in
for me on commentary.
And just so I understand the Continental Cup,
this is nothing to be defended, right?
That's the Continental Championship from the Continental Tournament.
The Cup is just a cup you win every year.
Well, but he would have lost the Continental Championship, too,
if he hadn't to won the tournament.
So he only gets to hold it for a year, for sure,
unless he loses it before.
You see how this is all just works like a Swiss watch.
I'm sure Tony can explain it.
I'm sure Dave's explain it.
explained it to him on numerous occasions.
All righty, I watched a little bit more of the next one because
you go from the outhouse to the penthouse in this one.
For the international title,
Kyle Feltcher, our young friend Take a Shit, who's been lost in a shuffle,
and my best friend, oh, crappy,
because I needed to see what was going on here.
And if he would turn it up a little bit,
And I knew at least Kyle and Take would be athletic,
even if it would look like a video game where the other guy,
I wasn't convinced that he was even going to rise to this occasion.
And as soon as the bell rang, Kyle Super kicked him,
and he rolled out so he could take a nap on the floor
and let Kyle and Take wrestle.
And they went 100 miles an hour.
And they did their shit.
And then Okada came back in and beat up both of them by,
doing almost nothing and slowly.
But I can't summarize what they did back and forth in this entire match,
but you got the video game moves, you got the grandiose gestures where everyone has
to pose and point and turn their back on the guy so that they can point to the,
like Babe Ruth calling his home run, the ropes that they're going to run to hit to do the,
is it just getting worse or am I just so sick?
of it that I can't not see it now, that everybody
is posing and prancing like the Omega has infected them
with the twinkle toes and the fancy dancing and Prissy Pranson.
It's happening more than they're pointing and they're growling
and they're yelling.
Not O'Cada.
Pointing and growling and yelling.
O'Cada was on the floor most of the match.
Well, no, O'Cada doesn't do any of that.
but the others make up for it.
But Okada doesn't growl or point or smile or cough or do anything.
He just, it's funny.
He's Buster Keaton.
But then again, again, take and Kyle their shit looks good.
It's just, it's moves back and forth.
And they do them because they can.
It doesn't need to make sense.
And the other guy does the least amount he can do.
with the least amount of effort.
And then finally, well, not finally.
But then the screwdriver.
O'Cotta gets the screwdriver, but Kyle sees him.
So he begs off and says, here, Kyle, you have the screwdriver.
Well, and Kyle takes the screwdriver.
And then he turns around to fucking like he's going to go stab take.
And O'Cada grabs him from behind and tries to close line him.
But Kyle ducks and take.
rolls Okada up and then Germans
Kyle while he's got
Okada in the roll up and that's
a two count.
And then they just
throw the screwdriver away.
So the heels
kicked the shit out of
take a shit.
And then he
accidentally, I don't know what the
fuck is going on. But that wasn't
the end. Then they
continued the match after the screwdriver
spot. And then
bunch of false finishes. Okada looked bored. They stared at each other. They traded the forearms.
More horse shit. Kyle gave, take a shit, the brainbuster on the turnbuckle and covered him and
O'cada pulled him off a clothesline him and pinned Kyle, one, two, three. I mean, what the
fuck? This slug beat Kyle. If you had to pick one.
of these three to do anything with,
Kyle's your man.
So they beat him with the absolute
laziest, most boring,
most least impactful male wrestler
that Tony Kahn has ever signed
to great amounts of money.
And if you didn't already know that wrestling was fake,
after watching this, you would at that point,
the whole match.
I felt like a lot of this match was like a rib on you
the idea. Let's see what Okada could do. Oh, they threw him to the floor again. I guess we won't see him for another five minutes. And then he just sneaks in and gets to win.
And who are we supposed to cheer for? Don had to talk Kyle in the hand of the belt to Okada and raising his hand. So, I don't know what the fuck. That was that match in my eyes.
All right. What else did your eyes? What else did you?
your eyes see on this pay-per-view event?
Dr. My Eyes have seen the pay-per-view.
All right, the casino gauntlet match was up next.
I can't believe that MJF was stuck in this bullshit indie match
with this slug opponent.
And everybody involved in this pretty much should be ashamed of themselves.
Can I just ask you, just so I know going through this,
Did you watch it all the way through to see the ring announcing issue?
Not well, see, I was still in Mexico.
So anything that was in English was muted to the point where it wasn't really something I was hearing.
Oh, man.
What happened?
Without spoiling what you're about to review, Commander comes out.
And on the screen, it says, Commander, like on the big screen on the stage, it looks like Commander.
and Justin Robert says,
coming out next, whatever number.
Number 17, mystico.
And people start booing
because it wasn't mystico.
And then Commander goes in there
and does a few things.
And then after he does that
before the next person
goes out of Justin Roberts announces again,
Commander!
And then the next person
to come out with the big music
that you love so much,
Justin Roberts says,
and of course,
Mystico!
It was pretty funny.
Well, and as a matter of fact,
see,
now there was parts
where I was skipping through,
but I saw Mystico come out.
We'll get there.
Because,
first of all,
they rang the bell with MJF and André.
And
Jesus Christ,
I just can't get.
He, Andrade, I don't get it.
And they did this some shit and that he wasted a lot of time,
took the selfie and suddenly Nick Wayne just appeared and dropped Andrade on his fucking head.
And that's when MJF and Nick made the deal.
Well, we'll work together.
You didn't get to hear.
You didn't get to hear Tony Chivani once again yell out.
Andrade is so cool.
No, thank God.
Why do they keep doing that?
Why do they do any of this with Andron?
What makes him cool?
What is cool about him?
The ridiculous outfit he wears in the middle of the hottest summer we've had in decades?
I don't...
But it got worse because then, when Nick and MJF were working together on fucking Andrade,
here came Ricky Steamboat's daughter.
And a Hong Kong fooie, that fucking hobgoblin, did some phony shit.
and some stereo moon salts off the top rope to the floor,
and then Tomaso started.
I was like, you know what, it's a long night.
So I fast forward at about five minutes.
And I landed on a spot where I don't know who it was,
but I wrote a masked mini is beating everybody up.
Jericho is in.
Doyle or Davis, not sure.
and then Mistico came and I said that song, fuck it again.
And I fast forwarded some more.
And when I stopped again, Danny Garcia was beating up MJF.
I'm like, son of it, you better put all that money to bank.
Daniel Garcia was one of two wrestlers that hit MJF in the face with their crotch in this match.
And, you know, I'm sorry, he's a top guy or supposed to be a top guy there.
Shouldn't be doing that, especially with Garcia.
who's a job guy.
I mean,
come on.
At best,
he's a charity case,
is what he is.
He is stealing from AEW wrestling
every time he cashed his paycheck.
But yeah,
that's MJF's thing.
So in a single match
with a top opponent,
that's a great pop
when the top opponent
sticks his dick in MJF's face,
you know,
back at him.
That's great,
not in these garbage matches
with these job guys.
Everybody ran into due spots,
either that or they were laying on the floor watching
waiting for the chance to do their spot.
Jungle Jackoff came in.
I wrote, will it ever be over?
I fast forwarded some more.
And then apparently M.JF hit Nick Wayne
with the heat seeker and Andrade shit-canned MJF
and pinned Nick is the same goddamn finish
they did with the three-way.
The same thing, they just did some 45-minute.
Plus, why the winner gets a title match.
Why would we want to see Osprey against Andrade, two baby faces,
is now what they've hemmed themselves in on unless they put it up again
and MJF wins it.
Who the fuck wants to see Will Osprey versus Andrade?
Maybe those escorts, they keep hiring the Senate Ringsside.
Well, it just means continued employment for them, but otherwise,
and the same finish.
the one guy hits his finish on the other guy
and the other guy fucking shit cans even steals it
So the idea of the women sitting in the crowd
It's one thing him walking out there with dispassionate
pseudo models or whoever they find
This isn't the first time
But when every match it happens
And it happens every match
He finds that one girl at ringside
Are we supposed to think
He bought her the ticket?
Are we supposed to think
This woman
who stands out like a sore thumb at AEW
clearly with no male companion
bought herself a lone ringside ticket
for one person
and they just knew Andrade would come by
looking to take a selfie
It's like a weird thing between that
and Chivani on multiple occasions now yelling out
He's so cool!
Like I almost feel like Andrade sat down with Tony Kahn
and said like here's my wish list
on how I want to be treated,
and Tony Kahn just said yes to everything,
even if it makes no.
Who are these girls at Riggs?
Are we supposed to think he's hiring escorts?
Well, that's the thing, is that nobody believes
that it's organic, that it's real,
that there's really women coming to the matches
wanting to have their picture taken with this guy,
because it is so obviously hired models, plants,
whatever the phrase you want to use,
that it just calls attention to that they're desperate to try to make you believe these things about this guy
rather than it being believable.
And, you know, I'm sorry, but he's not getting the response that the Rock and Roll Express got in North Carolina
or the Fantastics of the Von Erickson, Texas, or the baby faces of any era when it was legitimately,
if there had been selfies, if that had been a thing,
my God
they used to try to drag the fucking
baby faces off the apron
of the ring back into the crowds
they could molest them some more
but this is just
pathetic trying to make
people obviously believe
that you're something you're not
they can tell
I mean is that what they're trying to like
is it the idea like Andrade draws girls
I think that's legitimately
in some fashion they're
maybe the people that the audience that they're targeting
or more importantly maybe the fucking creative
brain trust
they're the ones that think that this might actually be
believed by some human being
some male person some anybody
maybe they think that's you know
what cool guys have is one
oddly dressed and as you said sometimes
dispassionate woman that stands out like a sore thumb
coming to see you. That means you're over.
Well, we will discuss more about Andrade, I'm sure this Wednesday
or after this Wednesday show, but back to Wembley.
Well, we got another dream match.
Edge and Christian Cage against the Hardley Boys
with the match that we thought would never happen.
and I never particularly was looking forward to to begin with.
And again, I know this is something that for the AEW fans
and the people who listen to Uncle Dave,
this is what they've dreamed of.
But I just zoned out, Edge and Christian tried
to have a halfway smart match with these kids.
they also, you know, tried to have the best match they could have at this stage of the game
without risking injury.
Edge didn't jump off the top of a fucking 20-foot cage again and break his leg.
It's impossible to take these two 40-year-old juvenile delinquents and their trampoline
bullshit seriously as any kind of top wrestlers, top tag team, top anything.
and Edge and Christian, as we mentioned, with a combined age of 104, whatever the fuck it is,
are they're better than anybody else their age, but they're not as good as they used to be.
So to say that this tag match approached FTR and J. White and Juice Robinson from a few years ago,
or any of the main event level tag matches of the attitude era
or the rock and roll and midnight or whatever is no
I enjoyed this match more than any other Young Bucks match I've ever seen
I enjoyed this match more than any other Edging Christian match I've ever seen
but it had nothing to do with any of them I know what a Young Bucks match is
They need to wrestle tornado style
Otherwise they can't get all their spots in
They don't get any reactions unless they get all their spots in
And even then they have to beg people to get on their feet and react
I know exactly what it's going to be
And I'm not a big fan of Edging Christian
I focused on Rick Knox
I just watched Rick Knox
And it was utterly fascinating
Because my first thought was
It's almost like he's little Nemo
and this is his slumberland
and like he can watch
but he can't actually like participate
in the dream or the dream ends
because if you watch what he's doing
he's nowhere near the action usually
every now and then he leans in
like in a weird way
and he reacts
his hands are constantly going
and then he starts talking
and you realize
he's not talking to anyone
is no one near him
he's just talking out loud
he doesn't enforce any rules
it was tornado style
tags were unnecessary
but I enjoyed the shit
I've just watching him
it was bizarre
I've never seen a referee
I detached from everything
the way that he was detached
it was crazy
so I encourage everyone to go back and watch that match
and ignore everything happening in the ring
except Rick Knox
except the referee
it's crazy it was really enjoyable to watch it that way
well let me tell you
what I did.
Because I mentioned when we started this
that I had bought the thing
on Prime Video and somehow they
gave me Spanish.
Well, about this time during this
match, I said, fuck, we're two
and a half hours in or whatever.
I got to come back
on this later on.
And I do this every time
that they have one of these pay-per-views.
I never watched the whole thing without stopping
and walking away for a while. Somehow I
can't, right?
So I did the same thing.
I paused it.
I went out of prime into my other TV inputs or whatever
and watched something else and did some other things and went back and tried to pick
it up.
And it wouldn't.
The show had ended.
And it said show ended.
Well, every time I've bought this thing, when I go back to it, whether it's ended or not,
I can always go back and it says resume playing, right?
This would just know.
It ended and it wouldn't give me any option.
It just here are more details or whatever the fuck.
It wouldn't give me any option to watch this fucking thing.
So I went back to the goddamn home page.
And I had to buy the fucking thing again.
Did you buy it in English this time?
This time I got it in English.
It's the same goddamn little thumbnail I clicked on.
It's all in English.
It was the same thing, but this time I got it in English.
When I went to purchase it on Amazon Prime,
there was also an option,
and I almost did it, and then I realized I can't.
It was like you could buy it on HBO Max, but here.
And it was right next to the you could buy it here,
which was right next to you could buy it here in Spanish.
And it's very confusing,
unless you're paying close attention.
you could easily buy the wrong thing or be sent away.
Well, I paid twice for this goddamn fiasco.
And then, and before we get back to it, this tag match,
here's the final rip.
After all this was over with,
I was looking through the cable guide to find out of something
that I wanted to watch.
And guess what's back up?
The pay-per-view channel on Spectrum.
After a year, there it was.
I could have got it on real TV.
Oh, get out of it.
It was available?
For only $5 more.
Oh, shit.
Really?
Yes, that's what it was listed.
And now it would probably be the last time ever.
But I could have fucking got it if I'd have known, but it's been so long I quit looking.
Anyway, so this nonsensical bunch of bullshit,
Christian Cage goes outside and gets a wrench and a title belt.
and he puts the wrench in his pocket.
But he brings the title belt in,
and of course this stupid,
demented Rick Knox,
the only reason he's got a job
is because he's a friend of the buckaroos
and he lets them do whatever the fuck they want to do.
And he's otherwise,
he's the worst referee in a history of goddamn wrestling.
And at his age, he's got to be 70 by now.
He's going to be a liability when he has some kind of
goddamn attack in the middle of the ring.
he takes the belt and turns his back to hand it out
so Christian pulls out the wrench and puts it in his elbow brace
and they still go back and forth
and then he hits fucking Maddie with it and covers him one, two, three.
So the dream match of all time, that was the finish,
flat and rotten.
And then they played music and here came the Motor City machine gun.
and they started staring at everybody
and then they played music
and here came FTR dressed like gas station attendants
and they stared at everybody
and then the music played
and the new new day came in
and they all stood there and stared at each other
and then Edge's music played
and Edge and Christian left
and everybody else stood there
stared at each other
it's supposed to show you that AEW now has a top tier tag team division
and that wasn't all their tag teams those were just some of them
they're just the ones that had their music queued up
and their gas station attendant outfits flown over
anyway that was the tag team match so Edge and Christian are
they're still the champions right
surprised by the finish
actually no because I think that even the Buccaneers realized now that nobody gives a shit about them
and if they started winning these big matches that there would be more of a right now
everybody's just resigned to it that oh they're going to be around because they're you know
friends with Tony they're part of the deal but if they started like winning big matches I think
there'd be more vocal what the fuck are you doing with these two type of reaction and
that would call attention to them and they're making a ton of money.
So that and plus as we saw later on,
their friend Cutlet still has a job and Kenny Stoge,
Nakazawa still has a job and they get to come to ringside
and use their VHS camcorders and live out their jock-sniffing dreams.
So why rock the boat?
They'll just, they'll do the jobs on the big ones and not get any heat.
anyhow. But there was more.
There was more.
A Falls Count Anywhere match with Kevin Knight and Darby Allen.
And I got a lot of notes on this.
I hate it. We're going so long.
But here's the summation of it is Darby Allen works this gimmick so fucking well
that I would openly admire him and praise him.
be the president of his fan club.
Except the problem is we've established
it's not a gimmick, he really is a fucking mental case.
So I now it's, I'm just, all I am is focused on what a
disservice that the concept of him now does to the wrestling
business, that all these serious main event fucking talents
that have goddamn
some level of sanity
are working hard
and killing themselves
when this guy is proven to the entire world
that nothing that can be done
to anybody in a wrestling context
can ever hurt them or should hurt them.
Because if this little 140-pound fucking dweeb
with his face painted up
and his homemade fucking ring jacket
and his goddamn skateboard
cannot be killed, then why should I worry about any of the grown adults?
It's just, it's like a big neon sign.
This shit is fake as fuck and we're all stupid.
And we just want to fucking do this stupid shit to see if we can get away with it without
paralyzing ourselves.
And it doesn't matter what happens because the billionaire is paying us a fortune.
So I'm concentrating now on the level of damage that Darby does to the wrestling business
where you can never do another angle or try to do some kind of controversial finish to get
some heat because they'll say, well, fuck, that wouldn't even hurt Darby Allen.
Within the first 30 seconds, Darby was bleeding from a hard way.
We're fucking dick, what's his name?
Kevin Knight hit him over the head with the belt, I guess for real.
Because I don't even think Darby had played the back of his head.
So they can't, 30 seconds in, they're just, they don't know what the fuck.
And then they did some parkour on the floor.
And Kevin Knight springboarded from the ring off the top rope,
onto the announcer desk to splash Darby on the desk,
and it didn't even break,
which makes it hurt a lot worse,
and covered him on the floor and got a two count.
There was two minutes into this fucking thing.
This would have been a goddamn hospitalization angle
in the attitude era.
They would have replayed it like the bump off
a goddamn hell in a cell at McFoly took.
he used it for a false finish in the first two minutes of the match
and then Kevin Knight threw five chairs in the ring
and the fans were sitting there silent waiting for the next stunt
they will pop on the stunt
and in between stunts they just sit there going
okay well wonder what he's going to set up next
and they tried Darby tried the code red off the top
onto the pile of chairs in the ring but the chairs were
too far away so Kevin Knight sold his knee
but went over his head
and then suddenly
here came Brian Cage
and fucking Popeye Doyle into the ring
they're not in the match
but it's no DQ
lazy booking
so they just start
setting up the chairs in a formation
in the ring
see
AJ's son, even these guys still set up chairs.
And then Cage backdrop Darby where he landed crotch first on the chairbacks that were
leaned up against each other.
And then the heels in full front of the referee, full side of the referee,
tape Darby's hands behind his back.
And I'm like, oh, this always works.
This can't miss.
Remember who was the last one that got taped up or tied up?
And they had to hold the tape together or pretend they were still taped?
It was lyric.
That was what doomed lyric valedictorian.
Oh, that's right.
Against Becky.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So then anyway, suddenly Sting's son, Sting Jr., Steve Borden, runs in.
And he fights the heels, but they stop him.
and now the heels start doing spots with Borden Jr.
I'm like nobody that's in this match is actually,
you see what I'm saying here.
All the action is from people that are not involved in the match,
and the crowd is sitting there.
And I'm back on the English commentary,
so I ought to be able to hear the goddamn
and cage power bombed board.
through a table that was leaned up in the corner.
It was like a buckle bomb.
The same way that his father got hurt, almost paralyzed.
And this fucking muscle-headed goof, Cage, I'm about him too, I'm just about fucking
fed up with.
He powerbonded him so low, it put the back of his head through it.
He didn't put his ass through the middle.
His ass was almost hitting the mat by the time he hit the table.
and then Darby was on the top rope with his hands taped behind his back and gave Huracan Ranas to Cage and dove on to Kevin Knight.
But then Cage stopped him and superplexed him.
Again, these people are just having a different match now.
And they honestly think this shit is good.
and then they hung Darby upside down from the tree of woe
and was going to coast to coast him
but the lights went out and the musing hit
and musing, musing hit, it was amusing the music.
The music hit and it was sting.
And he got the big pop because it's sting,
but I'm sorry.
But does he look ridiculous with the gray hair and the face paint?
You know, I've been okay with it.
so far, but I actually thought this was the first time he looked like
old man sting. You know, he lost a little bit of size and that's kind of all it took.
Well, he beat up the heels with the bat and then gave Darby the bat
and Darby hit Kevin Knight twice with a baseball bat and Knight didn't go down.
He just got into position for staying to
have been backwards and Scorpion death drop him.
and then they got a ladder
and they set up this giant ladder
and both Sting and his son climbed up it
but then at the top they shook hands
and Sting climbed back down
and then Jr.
dove off the top of the ladder
onto the heels on the floor
but now by the way this is not happening
nearly as quickly
as I'm saying it
because the pace
between all this shit is glacial.
And then the Bordons and the heels fought off.
Then Darby finds the baseball bat again
and chases Kevin Knight up the entrance ramp.
And this has already been one of the more embarrassing
to wrestling displays that I've ever seen in this deal.
Or they get to the stage and they lose the bat
so that they can fight on the stage
and around the lighting rig,
which is taken forever.
And then Darby starts climbing the light truss.
And he gets out of,
Brian, was he 30 feet up?
Had to be, right?
It was pretty high up, yeah.
And he does the coffin drop from 30 feet up
off onto Kevin Knight,
onto the rigged spot in the stage
where the stage collapses.
And you, it wasn't,
like that they went through into a giant pit.
You could still see shit.
It was just somehow they padded this thing.
And I don't know what his margin for error was, but again, he's a fucking idiot.
Because an irresponsible, and Tony Kahn's a fucking idiot and irresponsible, just because this
kid doesn't give a fuck whether he hurts or kills himself or not, whether it's financially
or whether it's just because whatever mental issues he has that are going untreated while he's catered to it, allowed to do this shit,
made to believe he's some kind of fucking superstar.
Tony Kahn as the owner, she said, I don't care if it's a 50 by 50 foot spot that they've got gimmicked.
You're not falling backwards onto this thing from 30 feet.
and then to make it worse after they risk killing somebody here,
then they kill the business because less than 30 seconds later,
Darby is crawling out of the whole area.
And from under the stage,
they've already got Kevin Knight on a wheelie stretcher
and are wheeling him out.
Yeah, how did that happen like that?
It almost felt like I missed something and I didn't miss something.
No, because it's,
soon as somewhere or another, they made this
soon as Darby got everybody's attention
and was doing this bump. They did the
switcheroo and they had Kevin Knight
on the goddamn stretcher
to be wheeled out so that when Darby
crawled out he could stand up and say,
oh no, motherfucker.
And coughing, drop him
off the stage while he was on the
fucking stretcher.
But he would have been under Darby
who he saw climb out.
Of course he would.
They think they're fucking David Copperfield.
It starts to say Chris Rock, Chris Angel.
They think they're some famous magician.
The only thing they're doing is making their goddamn fans disappear.
Well, Darby wins the TNT Championship.
Yes, he did.
And I would have fired both these idiots for suggesting any of this if any of this was
their idea.
And there goes Kevin Knight's big push.
What was that?
six to eight weeks.
He gets a title match with MGM.
He gets the T&D title.
No.
Two months later, but okay, fuck it.
No, this means the push is still going on.
With Tony Kahn, if you lose a big match,
that means you're getting a good push.
If you win the match, you really got to worry about things.
Well, pardon me while I take a sip of sprite.
Take a sip of sprite.
We've been going a while, ladies and gentlemen,
we will be right back with the remainder of All In and so much more.
right after this short timeout.
All right, we are back.
Trying to get Jim in a good mood
by playing his favorite of the songs,
but more AEW All-in from Wembley.
Yeah, so my mood will not change for a little while here.
The women's title was on the line or one of them.
Willow Nightingale against Mercedes Mone
and Willow now has hurt her hand.
I guess is it broken,
but she's got an injured hand
and she worked this show with it.
If she's hurt bad enough that she has to be off
for a while after this,
then I guess she had to lose the belt
and this match was booked.
Otherwise, why?
Why?
Has Mercedes been the biggest flop
of all the multimillion dollar signings.
Remember, it was about the same time of her at Okada and I think Osprey.
And Osprey, they've got not what they could have out of him,
but they've gotten something out of him.
Okada is useless, but at least the New Japan weirdos
still see a functional human being in that carcass.
Has she added anything to anything?
push to the moon, rotten promos,
stunningly full of herself like she's Taylor Swift.
And it seems for real instead of somebody working,
she was supposed to be a baby face,
but she was so rotten and got such backlash.
They made her a heel.
Give Willow Mercedes's money.
She produced.
She got over.
And now when she,
She gets over the first one of these women in this company that is actually, that was a moment she had on TV.
And they're liking her.
She's getting over.
She's popular.
She gets hurt.
And instead of at least, unless she's going to have goddamn her hand amputated, do what they did with Chelsea.
Build on it.
they're botched that with Chelsea too,
but don't just take
the fucking thing off of her and
hear Mercedes, the biggest
overpaid flop
comes back
and now
she's the champion again
and poor Willow.
Am I crazy here or is Willow
more popular, more
meaningful,
producing better than anything Mercedes
has done since she's been there?
I mean, I've been saying since
day one that I thought they had something special with Willow.
Mercedes is good in the ring for women.
She certainly, I mean, you could argue how beneficial it's been to AEW as a whole,
but I think a lot of that is an argument of how beneficial the women's division has been
to AEW as a whole.
I thought it was a good match, even with Willow's injury.
Willow someone people like rooting for.
and Mercedes, I'm sure Tony Kahn knew this was something she wanted
to win their world championship on their biggest show
and the biggest stadium they run.
And now she gets to cross that offer list.
She finally wins it.
Well, at one point, they almost broke Aubrey Ed's leg.
They did a deal.
Mercedes was working the bad hand and Willow pushed Mercedes into Aubrey,
but she almost missed Aubrey.
She was going, she was following.
at the same time and clipped her leg.
Good of broken it. Yeah, that looked bad.
And she was selling on the apron.
I wasn't sure. She's supposed to be knocked out and she's checking her knee even
though she's knocked out or is it that she's like hurt her knee so bad she can't turn
over?
Yeah, I, apparently she was back up.
But then they did a deal where again, they do all these fucking false finishes with
gimmicks and everything right in the middle of the match.
Mercedes got the belt, swung and missed.
Willow got the belt, hit Mercedes twice,
then threw her back in, power bombed her.
Aubrey rolled over from her bump,
two count.
I'm like, Jesus Christ!
At this point, it's like Dory Senior and Cyclone Negro.
They're just on and on again.
And then Willow buckle bombed
her into the bare buckle.
They pulled the buckle pad off
and then pulled her up
and tried a power bomb off the top,
but Mercedes Hurricane Ronid her
after she'd been buckle bombed
into the bare buckle,
then more back and forth
and false finishes.
And then after all that,
Mercedes got some kind of
STF on with Willow's own arm
wrapped around her and they laid
there stationary forever
and Willow was trying to get to the ropes but couldn't,
and then Aubrey called for the bell.
All those giant moves, and they, again, the most boring,
shit imaginable, stationary in the middle of the ring,
like Moxley, and the heel out-wrestled the most popular girl they got.
Hello.
Choked her out.
I thought it was a good match.
I didn't like the finish.
Well, that was that.
but there was more there always is we got to get to the greatest match of all time
bride is that that's what dave said right the greatest match of all time he hasn't actually
said that has he he said it on twitter when he was arguing with hooty and the blowfish
and you think i'm kidding but i'm not darius he's telling darius rucker
that uh in a conversation that he was not in
that he was not involved in.
Darius Rucker and tweeted days ago
about how he misses wrestling
and how, boy, how that angle with Dusty and Oli
and the Omni was great.
And then somebody tweeted,
well, Osprey and Fucking Omega
just had the greatest match ever.
And Darius Rucker tweeted back at him,
you never saw flare and steamboat.
And Dave jumped in on it.
and Dave's oh I've seen flare and steamboat many times
but Osprey and Omega just had the greatest match of all time
because nobody's ever been better at drama and emotion than Kenny
and it's goddamn embarrassing
it's just fucking if if if Dave didn't bring most of this on himself
I would say we're abusing an elder but he's got to tell
and that's why I tweeted back.
I said, it's one thing to try to tell hoody
what kind of wrestling he ought to fucking like.
But if he starts arguing with the blowfish,
I'm calling adult protective services.
And the other problem is Dave lives on Twitter.
I mean, that's become quite apparent
because responding to people briefly is one thing,
posting your own clips is one thing,
writing paragraphs of people all day.
That takes time.
I don't care what he says.
To try to educate him on how wonderful everything he is that he says is wonderful.
Yeah, Dave thinks the role of the smug condescending professor is a good one.
He thinks that's the way to teach, apparently.
Or maybe that's the way people who taught him talk to him.
I don't know.
I have a feeling we're starting to find out.
why a lot of people have talked to Dave the way they have over the years.
But anyway, back to live action here,
the greatest match of all time. And here's the thing.
Tony Kahn, instead of being the Spielberg of wrestling,
is turning into the Ed Wood of wrestling.
Because there's stuff here.
There's parts here and pieces here.
and he's got the money.
He paid for the fucking who.
If Tony Kahn
had put the same amount of money in this that he has,
but he had been able to separate the serious talent
from the indie goofs,
if he'd hired some veterans that they had to listen to
to produce them instead of suggest things,
if he'd had a clear vision of an athletic,
but realistic product to counteract the WWE.
And if he'd stayed the fuck out of creative,
this war could be a goddamn horse race instead of a money pit.
He was in Wembley Stadium with this local hero.
And hey, Osprey needs to be produced and he's got his issues,
but he's the closest thing they have ever had to a
legitimate top baby face that the people like that you could take seriously.
And they were in this stadium with all the money for pyro in the world to make it look like a big deal.
And they shot Osprey's entrance as a mini movie.
And the music video was set to Baba O'Reilly.
And not only the significance of the Who and Wembley Stadium and et cetera, et cetera,
but how much did that cost?
Bill Kirby?
That probably costs a whole lot of money
and it's a great song.
I think that opening video was tremendous.
It was fantastic.
And even when I said, what the fuck?
The career highlights the picture,
it was voiced over by his mother,
which again is another first in wrestling history.
But honest to God,
she did a good job and kind of pulled it off.
At the end of the thing,
guys like it wasn't bad. That's what I'm saying. They've got all the money in the world. I mentioned
that, but they've got pieces. They've got parts of it. They just can't put it all together. And he doesn't
have the eye for the talent because you've got Osprey in this thing with a mini-movie entrance
with the Who and his mother's voiceover. And he walks to the ring past all of this
with meaningful looks that he's had interactions with and kissed his wife and put on his robe.
Go ahead.
If I could just say, because usually I wouldn't like this kind of thing, I loved it here.
I actually thought it worked great.
I really liked it.
Yes.
Even it's, I mean, it's kind of awkward, as great a song as it is.
I mean, when he's screaming teenage wasteland.
Well, I was still, but, you know, I thought this was so fucking cool.
This is one of the best things AEW did, the entrance of Will Osprey here.
Well, and Ospre or Moxley even gave him the British flag, the Union Jack,
and then just walked out, which is the best thing for him, right?
He just got out of there.
He stole it from the fucking Toad and Tickle.
And then they hit Osprey's music, and he enters, and he didn't get a big pop.
It wasn't like a, what?
Because everybody was singing his song.
and the pyro and they could pan the stadium more now that it was dark.
And they got the big Osprey, Osprey and more pyro and the whole fucking stadiums blowing up.
And the introduction and the Osprey chant.
That was great.
And his opponent is this goddamn douchebag.
This fucking prancing, dancing, pointing, facing, making.
douchebag, this milk
sock, this goddamn
idiot. And that killed a whole thing for me.
The video
looked like shit, because it looked like they took it off VHS
tapes. And it had
a Japanese voiceover with English
subtitles. So
next to Osprey, it looked like
shit visually. It sounded like
shit. Because he didn't have the who.
with some goofy music,
I don't know what to fuck.
The script was overly dramatic douchebaggery
like Kenny.
And the last line when he cuts his promo,
it's time to go plus ultra.
So he's going to win with pouches?
He's listening to the show.
Our sponsor is he's going to pack in
eight pouches in his chipmunk cheeks
and go out and win the fucking match.
it was like again a major league production for osprey and then indie wrestling bullshit for kenny
even in the quality of the video and then he came out and stood there and they played some
different music for him than they normally play it sounded like and he walks out with the
heartily boys behind him and there's knock it off and cutlet with
with their little VHS cameras,
are they still doing their little online YouTube show?
And they're stooge clapping for Kenny
and his music is horrible,
and he gets the big introduction,
and he makes weird faces.
And that was the theme of this Osprey.
I don't like everything he does,
and he needs to be produced,
but he's got appeal and charisma,
and he can do shit, and he's over.
And then there's this guy.
His strikes are weak.
His facials are weird.
His movements are exaggerated.
His demeanor is off-putting.
None of his matches can be taken as fights.
Did I mention he's weird?
I can't be intimidated of him.
I've heard him speak.
He's phony.
He's overacting and phony.
At Lee, Osprey shit looks critical.
for graceful.
Kenney's is gesturing and gesticulating and moving in odd ways.
And I can't unsee it.
And he's gone from a few weeks ago,
he was a baby face saying,
gosh darn,
and golly G.
It is promos to acting like Caesar Romero in a 66 Batman series.
Because he's suddenly he thinks turning heel is laughing monotting
and making weird faces and talking to myself like a madman, I'm just talking to himself or his
opponent like he's crazy in two weeks. It just, no. So that's, they did every AEW match,
various dives, they do a move and pose, they spend long spells on the floor where they ought to be
counted out, but they're not.
You know,
the seconds argue
Osprey got juice
for the monitor shot that Kenny hit him
with. So now again,
Kenny's using
fucking blunt instruments and
whatever.
And then
Kenny powerbombed
him off the desk onto a table
next to the desk where the legs
broke instead of the table.
So there was a hospitalization angle again with 20 minutes left in this thing.
They'd been on the floor for minutes.
I even wrote.
They'd been on floor for minutes, not C-O-R, count out a ring.
But Dave will say this is the best match ever and they're brilliant.
And then Osprey beat the count, even though he laid there for over a minute.
He managed to make it in before the 10 count.
And that's when Kenny started growling and making the facials.
and speaking in tongues to the camera.
And then Kenny hit another dive,
and he was telling the doctor, don't stop it.
And I was wishing somebody would stop it.
Osprey sells great.
Kenny did a German suplex off the top rope, two count.
More heat on Will Osprey.
And I noticed, have you noticed this?
Kenny does not do any pro wrestling moves.
He does video game.
shit. He does these weird moves he came up with. But he doesn't just arm drag or hip toss or
backdrop or drop kick or body slam with any degree of regularity. It's all this horseshit.
And then they traded forearms. And then they tried to box. Apparently,
maybe Osprey was trying to box because Kenny got his eye busted open.
lots of leg slaps.
Osprey hit the elbow two count.
Osprey with a power bomb and a Stiles Clash two count.
Then they traded girl punches for a while.
Then there was your spot, Brian.
Kenny pointed and pranced and hit the one-winged fairy and got a two-count.
And that was a big pop.
Because nobody ever kicked out of it.
Like as one other person did Kota Abushi, I didn't realize that.
Oh, well, I wonder why.
But imagine a big pop for kicking out of something that nobody ever kicks out of.
Who would have thought that would happen?
Doesn't happen anymore because everybody always kicks out.
So Kenny made some more weird faces and gestured and hit the knee lift and then Will hit the tiger driver.
But didn't cover him, just dropped him on his head.
Why'd he drop him on his head?
And then they staggered around
and Will Osprey hit the one-wing fairy
and got a one count.
I can't tell you the fight
that would have erupted in the locker room
if some guy had told
any top star of the past,
I'm going to hit your move on you,
but it's only going to get a one count.
And then he hit his elbow.
and then a suplex.
They got another one count.
Now Kenny's kicking out of Oz.
And then Willie pulled off his elbow pad
and Kenny was on his knees where he's most comfortable.
And Osprey hit the elbow again,
the hidden blade, one, two, three, big pop.
Thank God it's over, more pyro.
I just can't tolerate the stench of the performance
that Kenny gives whenever he's out there.
I can't unsee all the fake, phony, unnatural,
and douchebaggy things that he says, does,
and the aura that he emits.
But was this, Brian, to an un, to a,
to an, not an unbiased observer,
no pun intended,
was this the greatest match there's ever been?
Not to me.
I thought it was really good.
Like you called out, and I've called it out recently for a bunch of Omega matches.
It's always his matches, where they have minutes around ringside or brawling into the crowd.
No countdown, the referee doesn't matter.
They did it here again.
You know, Heel Omega hams it up a whole lot more than Babyface Omega.
I don't know why he thinks being a heel is making crazy faces and talking to yourself,
I don't get it.
I almost felt like this was the end of an era.
You know, something symbolic about Omega out there with the Bucks,
their collective stooges,
who were only there because of the Bucks and Omega,
and him losing on the biggest show they've had this year
and we'll probably have for the foreseeable future,
a big show, a big moment, the elevation of Will Osprey.
It was something kind of like the changing,
in the guard.
Do you think this means we never have to see them again?
Oh, no, I think the Young Bucks will be there for a little while longer at least.
I mean, they're already putting out there that they're thinking about this being their last
contract and never wrestling again because they're set for life, which is a wonderful
renegotiation tactic to put that out there.
But you know what?
If they're not set for life, we can take up a collection.
Well, we shall see, but Will Osprey, the right guy won, and the fans there seemed to really eat it up.
It looked great.
I know it wasn't a sold-out Wembley Stadium, but it looked really good.
Once again, they made it look really good.
Especially when it got dark and they could pan.
That's when it started looking impressive.
Daylight, they had to stay tight in some ways that, you know, they couldn't show it to its glory.
and now we have a new world champion the will osprey era begins
yay any final closing thoughts about all in
yeah boy howdy i bet you if mjf had been beating a shit out of will osprey in front of all
those brits they would have had a riot by the time that osprey made his comeback but instead
we got 30 or 35 minutes of douchebaggery
well a big match to end an era and of course maybe it would have gone a little different
for Kenny Omega, when he was making all those wacky faces, what if he had been inserting
ultra pouches into his gums? Putting them, I don't know if inserting it to your gums is the right
way to put it, ladies and gentlemen. What if Kenny Omega had ultra pouches and he just stuffed
them right in there and let himself get energized and focus? Oh boy, help me. Jim Cornyette,
ladies and gentlemen. First of all, I would love to stand in line to be one of the people to
insert some stuff in his gums.
But secondly, that's what I said just a little while ago.
That's what he even said.
He said he was going to win this match because it was time to take ultra.
That's what he said, wasn't it?
And it's time to take ultra, courtesy of ultra pouches at take ultra.com.
Because that way he would, you know, I hesitate to say that Kenny would improve if he had
better focus because his brain obviously is wired backwards.
If he took his brain and stuck it in a pigeon, it would fly upside down.
But if you as a normal person out there want to take an ultra pouch, it's going to help you
with your focus.
It's going to help you with your concentration.
And it's not going to be bad for you like some of these other pouches are because it doesn't
have any nicotine and it doesn't have any caffeine.
It's just got good, wholesome, fresh.
ingredients that were handmade in a laboratory to be natural.
And folks, you can't beat that.
No, no longer are you going to have a nicotine pouch
where it's going to make your blood vessels blow up
and cause you to bleed out in front of your family and friends.
Vaso constriction, all that other stuff.
It restricts oxygen delivery.
That's all that stuff.
And the caffeine, you know,
that's bad for you too.
Well, that can send you into goddamn seizures and all kinds of things,
where, you know, it's proven that 98% of people who commit mass murders
have a problem with too much caffeine.
Did you see that study?
I did not say you didn't see it.
That's not anything proven or a study that I know.
Well, I saw it the other day.
It was on the side of a barn.
It was hanging there.
But folks, you don't have to worry about that either.
So with you take these take ultra pouches,
is you're not going to become a mass murderer, nor bleed out in front of your family.
You're just going to have calm, steady, flow state, focus, enhanced memory, smooth energy,
and a balanced mood because these things are trusted by top athletes, entrepreneurs, engineers,
and Jabberwockies all around the world.
And they've got cool, mint, winter green, tropical watermelon, or blue raz.
so they actually had to throw out the dirty underwear.
They didn't test properly.
But folks, Ultra is the ultimate guilt-free pouch
delivering that instant focus and mental clarity
without the nicotine or caffeine.
If you want that focus, if you want that balanced mood,
if you want that calm, if you want that X-ray vision,
if you'd like to be able to hear through walls,
just right now.
You can't do that.
You don't have X-ray.
vision once again
for some
energy and clarity
I use
ultra pouches to edit
I don't see through my computer
I edit what's on the computer
normal everyday life skills
stay in place
often you hear things that aren't there
but you can differentiate
between reality and fantasy
thanks to the focus that the
ultra pouches give you right before you start
elucinating I don't
again, no, there's no
hallucination involved in this example, ladies and gentlemen.
Oh, you stopped hallucinating.
So it's what the Ultra Pouches stop you from hallucinating is what it is.
Folks, if you're hallucinating now, I would like to stop,
then new customers can go to take ultra.com and use the promo code JCE,
and you're going to get 15% off.
That's 15% off and less.
hallucinations at take ultra.com with the promo code JCE.
That's, that's what we were trying to say, wasn't it?
That's exactly what we were trying to say.
Once again, I use it to edit.
Use it however you need to with realistic expectations.
Ultra pouch. Ultra pouches.
There's multiple pouches.
Take ultra.com slash JCE.
All right, just Swami's barking.
This is all.
and so well here today.
Buddy and Alfie say hello.
Hello.
Over there.
And over here,
we have more to go.
Threw me for a loop there.
Jim, W.W.E. Raw.
Oh, boy.
Took place, and it was a taped episode,
just like Smackdown last week,
taped in advance,
and edited,
censored in advance, I guess.
Censored.
Censored in advance,
sanitized for your protection.
and now they have put themselves into position
where they are censoring fake blood.
Because I guarantee you
that jumping somebody at a parking lot
where I would think they would know
if Netflix has been doing this now the past couple of times,
they either blur it or they go black and white
if there's blood, whatever,
you think somebody's going to take a razor blade
and cut themselves in the head for an angle in the parking lot
it's going to be censored anyway so the people don't see it?
What kind of fucking morons would be doing that?
So they obviously got gimmick blood and then censored the gimmick blood.
Because why wouldn't they use gimmick blood if you can't see it anyway?
But then why are they censoring it if it's gimmick blood?
Do you see that the things that I'm saying do not add up with common sense?
Yeah, it was a bit puzzling.
I, of course, prefer the Red X
from the WWF of my youth
or the Smoky Mountain Wrestling of your teen years.
That's right.
But I don't know about the blurring.
Again, that's what they used to do to the turnbuckles
with the WWF logo.
Well, it wasn't like that anybody was bleeding out either.
They were in the parking garage of the building
right at the start of the program.
The Uso's pull up and here's old hoist
keys and his guys, what
are their names? Who knows what their
names are? And they
beat the shit out of the Uso's
and broke the windshield of the car, just
created all kinds of havoc.
And then Jacob Fattu
showed up with a lead pipe, but the
heels took off and he couldn't catch them.
But they blurred,
they digitized the face
of the Uso that was bleeding, and
then
I think there was blood on
somebody else that wasn't even from their
head and they blurred that also.
And it looked, just, it was odd on a wrestling program.
They're not normally that sanitary.
And then at least they're trying to shake the format up.
We've said they, they do the same thing all the time.
So they did this at the start of the show.
Then they send poor old Saul Ruka out to the ring with a split screen as the
officials in the back are trying to deal with the Uso's, or at least you
believe it's the Uso's because you can't see their face.
And then Rochelle, Rochelle goes to the ring and they are going to have a
girl's match with Saul and Raquel.
But then Fahtu shows up at ringside and starts cutting a promo standing on the
desk about the attack on the Uso's.
And when he gets to the part where he says, motherfucker, and they bleep that out,
then they cut the microphone so he wrecks ringside and stores.
forms off and then they ring the bell for the girls match.
So talk about poor girls that couldn't follow that.
But at least they're trying to shake things up a little bit.
But again, now, didn't we hear when they went to Netflix,
well, now the language restrictions will be opened up
and we're not having to deal with some of the things that we had to deal with
on cable television?
Well, is this?
They could show that shit.
on USA, they can't show and say shit on Netflix that they could show on the USA network now?
Dynamite shows blood all over the place and that's a competitor to USA.
And again, and I'm surprised that they haven't gotten some type of angry communications for the
amount of blood that they show, but it goes from a slaughterhouse on one channel to, oh my God,
we popped a pimple, we've got to cover this up on the other channel.
stands out because it's never been like this.
The blurring of their faces
for an angle that was supposed to be in like real
time, that was a bit
puzzling a decision. It wasn't like it was a ton of blood, like he said.
Maybe they were trying to hide the fact that the blood
looked like shit. Who knows?
But then Jacob Fatu goes out there and drops a motherfucker
and they blur him out.
Obviously, they weren't out what he said.
So it was a weird one-two punch of
censorship to start to show.
well and since the whole thing and this the show was only an hour and 40 minutes long it was as you said it was taped in cleveland i don't know why did they have to go somewhere
or just a like a cookout or i don't know whatever but nevertheless so there wasn't much to it basically let's keep with the bloodline because later on
an SUV pulled up it was roman and there's fatu standing there like a and he's dressing you guys
now in this all red outfit
I mean I would see Ronnie Gossett
wearing something like this thing
and he's
telling Roman hey the Uso's are
fucked up and Roman says well
old Keyes and his
gang that's your problem you
handle it everything else is my problem
so then he turns around
he goes to the ring
and he's cutting
the promo where
he's at least Penta
and Phoenix are earning their shot
but everybody else is out here bitching and moaning
and they're being disrespectful.
Which brings me to solo.
I gave you a chance to serve the family
and you blew it for L.A. Knight?
He may remind you of the rock,
but he's not family.
Actually, I think L.A. has more Austin to it.
But nevertheless, as soon as he says
that, L.A. night music,
and L.A. night comes out talking to you
from the entranceway
cuts the promo to Roman.
The OTC, one tremendous coward.
And he talked his way to the ring,
and by the time he finished the promo and stepped to the ring,
it's like, well, we're going to see about this right now.
On the screen, Solo is down in the back.
And the officials are checking on him, and Fatu is there.
And L.A. Knight turns around and runs back
because, you know, they've been best friends for,
god damn a week and a half now but as he runs into the scene like what's happened to solo
roman rains comes in behinds him behinds him and superman punches him and knocks him out so i think if i was
one of the w w wrestlers i would stay in the ring that's the only safe place you get hurt
whenever you're in the parking lot or the locker route and then basically that
was we were up to our main event, which was Penta versus Phoenix to determine who's going to face
Roman rains in two weeks.
Because they're going to do raw in Mexico City, right?
They're going to have the first AAA in Los Angeles, the second AAA in Mexico, and then
they're staying for raw.
Is that what I'm being led to believe now?
I know they're doing raw for the first time and forever there, but I don't know about the
water of events.
obviously.
Well, yeah, I think because it's,
the triple mania is on the Friday and the Sunday.
I'm thinking,
but nevertheless,
Penta versus the Lucha brothers
against each other,
this wasn't Dory versus Terry
and the championed carnival final.
But then again, what was?
You know,
this is going to play very well in Mexico.
There's stars there here.
To me,
it's the same thing I said the other day.
They're doing the same shit that everybody else does.
Some of the things they do, you can't tell who ought to sell it.
And they can do all the triple Indies in the world,
but their basics are either shit or just overlooked.
So it always looks like a cooperative performance
and never seems like a contest.
They're exhibiting their fancy moves they can do.
And then Penta gave Phoenix his finish on the announcer,
desk, how many times have I said that in this show?
Now they've got to the point where you expect that.
And the desk collapsed, and they got back in the ring, and that was a two count.
And then more bullshit.
And finally, Penta hit the Mexican destroyer in one, two, three, which we knew he was going
to win, because in this environment, he's a bigger star, and you can see Roman
Rain saying, well, I'll work with Penta and
Mexico. The end.
I thought it was really good.
Last few minutes especially were really super hot.
They got the fans they were really into it.
Good match.
Yeah, well, so's your old man.
All right. Well, that was raw.
I don't, I just, again, there's nothing different about so much of this.
It's just so excessive.
And everybody's got to do the things that everybody's got to do.
they've lost track of the simple shit
which is kind of halfway
make it look legitimate
give them a strong baby face
and a strong heel
save the major
hospitalization angles
for the goddamn major angles
and don't break the announced desk
five times a fucking night
I've just I feel like I'm looking at the same shit
over and
over again.
And I never got that feeling
in the days before they started doing
all this shit all the fucking time.
Possibly, I'm just too sensitive.
And to throwback to earlier in the show, the solution
isn't work a headlock for 25 minutes?
No.
There's always got to be a temperature where the porridge
is just right.
It's just that nobody goes for it.
They either do every,
everything they've ever seen and ever known how to do, or they goddamn strip it down to,
well, this is real because we're not hitting the ropes.
I just want my porridge just right.
Brian, is that too much for a boy to ask?
As a wrestling fan, it just may be.
That was WWE Raw.
All right, we're here.
We have returned.
It sounded like somebody running a pickup truck over Bed Springs.
I was going for someone driving a pickup truck.
truck over Jerry Lee Lewis.
So, you know, maybe one day you'll have the ear to hear this sound and understand.
I think I'm going to do a Van Gogh if you keep playing.
By the way, if you hear anything with your little ear, we've been joined by Nature Boy
Buddy Cornett in the office.
We got a studio audience now.
He's got his little chew stick, but he's been, and he's in his little playpen, but he's
right next to me.
He was just on during our brief break there.
just on my chest laying in my arms like a baby sucking on my index finger like it was a little
baby bottle pacifier type of thing. He's just the cutest little thing in the world. He'll be observing
us from now on as we do as we finish this program. All right. It's always good to have someone
in the studio, a special guest. Jim. How many studio guests have we had so far that will suck your
fingers. Again, that's kind of gross, but I can't answer that. Jim, we have a couple of things
left here on the show, but there's another thing that I wanted to briefly... Are you talking
about the first thing or the second thing? See, I'm not going to be serious now. I got puppy brain.
You certainly do. Jim, I want to ask you about something. I think we may have talked about in the
past, but enough people have sent it to me to the Culticornec Facebook group on various forms of
media through email, some acting like it's footage that's been uncovered.
Yes.
So let me just ask you about the 1988 footage going around.
It's you in Charlotte, I believe on local television.
Please explain more.
But it's a very slim and slender and healthy-looking Jim Cornett at a good point in his life.
Well, what it is, and it's not anything that's like been lost footage that's suddenly
uncovered.
Somebody, I guess, just put it on Facebook.
or something and people start seeing it, I put it on a video that I did years ago.
I don't know whether it was the Midnight Express Rarities video that I did to go along
with the Midnight Express scrapbook, whatever, but nevertheless, I could uncover it by going
over here to my office shelf and pulling the tape down. So it's not like it's lost, but it was,
and I want to say it was WSOC, Channel 9, God, it's been 40 years.
because I was somewhat notorious as a television personality in the Charlotte area,
and it was coming up on the 88 Great American bashes.
Yes, but he remembers those fondly.
And so it was the news station asked Crockett, K, can we do a story on Jim Cornett?
And they came to me and I said, yeah, whatever, you know, it's promoting the bashes coming up.
but we were at, was it 88?
Yeah, we were at the stadium still in 88, weren't we?
It was definitely 88.
Yes.
And that's why I was slim and trim
because we had the bunkhouse,
three on two bunkhouse matches with the Fantastics,
and I was wrestling,
and that was the year that we did like fucking 40 shows
and 44 days or whatever,
so I had dropped weight to get ready for that chaos.
So I waited like 190 at that point.
and that was the, no, I take it back, $195.
But nevertheless, so they ended up doing a two-part special on the evening news on me.
And, you know, I took them out to a tennis court and they shot me playing tennis badly.
And, you know, we went to the office, did some stuff, did a sit-down interview.
And then they followed me to the Bass show there that night because I read the, the footage got over of the,
Me walking down the hill to the locker rooms there at the stadium while the people are screaming,
fuck you!
They had to take a clip where there was no profanity in it.
But it was just a two-part news report, like about an eight or nine-minute piece total,
on Jim Cornett, the manager of the Midnight Express, famous Crockett Promot's Local Wrestling Superstar.
I don't know what else to say.
According to what was posted, it's from WPCQ-36.
Oh, it was channel 36.
I thought it was channel 9.
It's now WCNC.
I thought that was a college.
Well, this is the NBC.
Oh, that's WNC as a whatever.
Yes, see, that's the thing.
Crockett had a television show at one time or another
on almost every station in Charlotte.
So it was to their benefit to promote the wrestling also.
We were on Channel 3.
WBT is the biggest station
and was at that time 40 years ago in Charlotte
its reach was like 125 miles at every direction
this was before cable
and I think Crockett had used to have
one of his main syndicated shows on it
but at the time that we were there
I think that's where they had a 30 minute show
like super bouts on Saturday nights
as I recall on Channel 3
and then one syndicated show was on channel 36,
another syndicated show,
God damn it, I'm going to say was on 18,
but he had like TV on like four of the six TV stations
in goddamn Charlotte.
And one of them was an educational channel,
so that probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
You're watching PBS!
All right, well, that answers that question.
Again, the clips going around a lot right now.
But Jim, speaking,
are clips going around?
So is explosive diarrhea,
but, you know, at least mine is more fun to watch.
Well, speaking of explosive diarrhea, Jim,
Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez are bickering again,
and this is getting sent over to us by just about everybody
in multiple forms,
because they've released an official wrestling observer version of it,
and Meltzer said what on Twitter,
put out an extended two-part,
Is it a director's cut?
Do you think that these mullet heads have just realized that the only entertaining thing about Dave is listening to him argue with Brian?
So they're just doing this on purpose.
But then again, Dave's not that convincing of a liar.
He can't be that good.
So they're just, Brian's at his wits end with him at this point.
it's worth seeing the video
because the audio tells a lot of the story
the video
is remarkable Dave holds the microphone
Dave doesn't have a microphone set down
on anything Dave is just sitting
and appears in a couch
I know and he must have like
goddamn no feeling in his
legs or hands he just sits there holding a handheld
mic and never moves
and the circulation problems alone
this is causing him
maybe what's at the root of his problems.
But you could see frustration, and you could see at times he's just, he's holding that mic
and he wants to say something, but Alvarez just sits back very comfortably.
Again, it's all a video, and he just spits out what he's saying, and to the bigger point,
we'll review this audio.
This is a topic you and I have discussed a lot.
You've asked this question over and over and over again.
Who's the baby face?
Who's the heel?
Isn't he a baby face?
Isn't he a heel?
Well, it turns out even the observers don't know.
Oh, good Lord.
They can't tell.
Let's go to this.
We'll start with this audio.
We'll break it up along the way as we review it from Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer, and Alvarez.
Pern is a baby face, and on that same show, she began feuding with another baby face and acting like a heel.
She should have just stayed heel.
She's acting like Becky Lynch.
She's not a heel or a baby face.
No, that's, Dave, that sucks.
There are baby faces and heels.
I can go down the whole roster and tell you who's a baby face and a heel.
And guess what?
Guess what?
What's Roman Reins?
He's a heel.
No, he's a heel.
He's a baby face.
He's a total heel.
They like him, but he's a heel.
Everyone cheers him.
He's a baby face.
What is L.A. Knight's a baby face.
What's Cody Rhodes?
It's Gunther.
Sammy Zane.
Sammy Zane.
Sam Hane.
Finn Ballard.
Babyface.
Kevin Owens.
C.M.
I can go all and on and on.
Jay Uso.
Jimmy U.
show. Their heels now.
No, they do a baby face.
Let's stop it for a moment. There's a lot going on.
It's not
the fault of the
talent when they're being a heel and if people are
cheering them anyway,
at least they're trying to be
what they're supposed to be, but people don't believe
it. They know it's all bullshit anymore, so they just
cheer everybody. But at least
in the presentation you can tell over
there kind of who the baby faces and heels are as far as who they're intended to be.
And I guess by the time we get to the end of this, you'll see, there's two big topics here.
One is, is this in fact what's going on?
And no one's a baby face and no one's a heel and everyone's in between.
Secondly, just because it's being done and it's being done by modern wrestlers in modern times
doesn't mean it's a good thing.
Like it doesn't mean that, well, let's get there.
Back to the aisle.
Yeah, yeah.
They're absolutely healed.
They're absolutely baby faces.
No, they are not baby faces.
Then why did they get beat up by the heel group?
Because that's a heel versus heel feud.
No, it's not.
They're baby faces.
They're going to be teaming with solo, they're going to be teaming with solo, who's now a baby face.
They are now, did you see Jay and Jimmy?
That is a total baby face when they got beat up and you're left bleeding in the parking lot.
You're absolutely a baby face.
What do you think of that in terms of booking?
Are you absolutely a baby face if you're left bleeding in the parking lot, even if you were a heel, let's say the previous segment on the last show?
Well, here's the problem is that if it had been a hot, if it had been the four horsemen come in and beat the shit out of them, then they might be baby faces.
But right now it's hoist keys and two guys that he found along the way as far as most people are concerned that just,
came in and beat his shit out of two other assholes
that have been fucking around these other guys.
So I think the Uso's are still heels
and nobody gives a shit about hoist keys
and his crew.
But the previous main event,
the Uso's versus solo in L.A. night,
it was pretty clear who the baby faces.
The Uso's were the heels.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Let's go back to this.
Let's ask AI.
I don't care about what AI says.
I'm definitely TV television.
The Uso's are officially booked as heels.
The crowd reactions have blurred the lines, however.
Correct.
That's actually correct.
No, it's not.
Yes.
It's ridiculous.
When they were on the road at house shows, the Uso's, who did they wrestle?
Bronbreaker and Obafemone.
Who cares about the outshows?
Braun Breaker and Austin Theory.
I'm sorry.
Bronbreaker and Austin Theory.
So what are they?
Who cares about the house shows?
They're heels.
No, they're not.
They were just big.
They were beating up as baby faces.
If you watch the TV today, that role, they got beat up, they were left bloody, they were beaten with poles.
I know.
Again, back to that question.
Are you inherently a baby face if that happens to you?
No, maybe.
Well, I can't even say that they got what they deserve because they don't really have enough heat.
No, no.
This is just a mess, honestly.
The Uso's and Roman reigns have been acting like heel.
but to people like them because they don't care because it's all phony anyway.
Having said that, these other heels come in and beat up the Uso's with pipes and sticks and
forks and spoons, but to people didn't really care about that because they don't care
about these other three people that came in and beat these guys up that were heels up until
the time they started getting beat up.
And then when Roman Reins comes in, he acts like a goddamn dick about the whole thing too anyway.
So why do I care about any of these fucking people?
So now are they, so now they are baby faces.
Now they are baby faces.
They have not turned to baby face.
But they are the baby face.
Who's going to be, who, who is being booked as the baby face in this feud?
There isn't one yet.
It literally started last week.
Well, now there is.
Now they are.
Royce has got a new crew and he's very angry at the Uso's and so he killed them.
Yeah.
And Roman.
Well, there's the end of the first.
But he starts whining and every time Dave speaks.
Well, Dave's whining a little bit.
hearing this argument trying to get his word in.
That may be what's causing buddy to whine.
He detects another animal whining and dismay.
Well, we got more.
Let's go back to this.
And again, this is a big issue, I think, with modern wrestling.
And it doesn't trace back to Cody Rhodes, but I always think, like, the big moment
was Cody Rhodes putting out there a tweet intentionally.
It was a very, like, rehearsed tweet.
You know what I mean?
Like, he thought it through, like, I know what kind of reaction I'll get.
about the boring old tropes like baby faces and heels.
Yeah.
You know, those aren't boring old tropes.
Those are things that made American wrestling television special.
You know what?
When Vince Rousseau was trying to tell Dutchman tell 20 years ago,
ah, there's no baby faces and heels, bro.
Dutch said, well, you know, there's actually a whole book about it.
Vince, about baby faces and heels.
You ought to read it sometime.
Vince, what is it?
He says, called the Bible.
What a Russo say to that?
He couldn't say anything because that's when he was going through his phase
where he was supposedly religious.
I was going to say, was that before he was religious or was that in the middle of it?
No, that was during that period of day.
Yeah, you ought to read it sometimes.
Call the Bible is full of good guys and bad guys.
Well, let's go back to the man who writes the wrestling Bible,
Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez going out at Wrestling Observer Radio,
Baby Faces and Heels.
Roman told Jacob, who's clearly a baby face, to go take out those guys.
Jacob is a baby face, that is true.
And he's aligned with Roman.
And he's aligned with the USOS.
You're right.
Just like when the bloodline were all heels and Sammy Zane was aligned with him.
And he was clearly turning baby face.
But meanwhile, Jacob had to lose a match and be forced into indentured servitude.
With the hope, I'm sure, that they figure when they break him loose again,
that he'll still be a big-time baby face.
But they're all baby faces now because they're feuding with,
they're feuding with,
get back to me in a week or two.
Oh,
I will get back to because I already know where they're going for Thanksgiving.
Okay.
They're going to be the baby face in this feud.
Are they going to have Chinese food?
We'll see where it goes.
We will see where it goes.
Okay.
Let's stop for a moment.
There's more, but, uh,
I just,
I already know where they're going for Thanksgiving.
what a grandma's house maybe he's it just he's gotten more condescending hadn't he but i i digress he has
but alvarez kind of has the elixir you know he he kind of knows how to fight back again it all
goes back to the idea that just because it's happening doesn't mean it's good and you know there are
plenty of examples and we'll let them continue in both companies now at this point where there are
just some guys, Roman Reins is the
big one in WWE,
that act like heels,
that feud with baby faces,
but get baby face reactions,
and if there's one guy with that,
okay, but if there's a lot
of people just constantly,
I hate to use the word tweeners,
but they're just constantly
ready to feud with anyone, no matter
who they are, for any reason,
I don't think that's a good thing for wrestling.
No, it's in.
nonsense. It's who's the greatest in the world or who's the best
or whatever. No, you need personal issues, animosity. Somebody has to cheat
and lie and steal. Somebody's got to stand up for what's right. White hat,
black hat, and white hat wins in the end. That's this classic wrestling description.
And besides that, I've said this before. It's consistency and it's,
you can't have guys come out like, like Kenny.
We're three weeks ago, like I said, he was golly gosh, Jarn, G. Whiz,
and now he's maniacal like a fucking Batman villain.
It doesn't make sense.
It makes it all fake.
The way that top stars have always gotten over and stayed over
is that they would not do things that were out of,
character for them to do.
And then when you would have the,
the rare turn,
you know, where the guy switches from baby-faced heel or vice versa,
there would be some kind of build with some kind of reason.
The fans would understand that there was some tension and something happened,
whether it was a fight over a fucking belt or money or a woman or glory or whatever the
fuck it was.
Now you can't just,
tonight I'll play the heel. I'll be the bad guy.
So you can be the good guy. And then next week,
I'll be the good. You can't do that because the fans,
uncertainty breeds ambivalence.
If they're going to get behind you and support you as a baby face,
even if you're trying to fight fire with fire,
you can't go out there and kick people.
and the balls and grab their testicles and try to gouge their eyeballs out.
And conversely, if you're trying to get some goddamn heat,
you can't out-wrestle the baby face and clearly beat him without cheating or any kind of
out because then, well, why are you a bad guy?
You're the better wrestler.
You don't need to cheat.
Fuck this other guy.
I'm behind you.
It's just goddamn human nature and psychology.
and these fucking
dipshit nerds that are the only ones left
that want to be wrestlers
because the standard wrestler these days
is such a fucking douchebag pussy,
they all want to just do fucking cool moves
and have fun with their friends.
And that's why we're in the position we're in.
I'm sorry, what was the question?
And we'll go back to this audio in a second.
We're still reviewing this,
but to that point,
Osprey and Omega,
I like the match.
But I don't think Kenny Omega
suddenly becoming a heel
helped the match.
No.
Like it didn't do anything that,
I hate to say it should have been
a baby face versus baby face match,
but I think that's kind of what was set up perfectly.
We didn't need a two-week maniacal heel run.
I like that.
That should be the name of a punk band,
two-week maniacal heel run.
What do you think, buddy?
Buddy's still sitting on my lap.
Before everyone starts puking,
Let's go back to this audio.
Right now, Roman's a baby face, you know,
as he's acting like a total heel against L.A. Knight.
But he's a baby face.
Yeah, because he's, because he's a,
because it doesn't matter with Roman Raines and Becky Lynch,
they're doing, they're basically doing their thing of it's all situational.
When he's going against Roy's keys, he's a baby face.
When he's going against L.A. night, he's going to be, in theory,
he'll, but guess what, he's still going to get cheered more than L.A. night most of the time.
So the fans, to the fans, to the fans,
fancies a baby face. The fancies
to the fan... Let me just stop it for a second.
As someone who
spends a great deal of time
working on the audio for all my programs
and always has,
it takes a good deal of pride and making sure that our
shows sound good.
Dave's lips smacking
and second area with the mic.
Listening on headphones,
it's rough. It's just very
like...
He's a little wet, didn't he? Oh my God.
Oh my God. Back to this.
And he's the biggest star. That's for sure. And so he gets the biggest star reaction.
And he gets cheered more than anyone in the entire company. By far right now, I mean, who's bigger?
Not Cody. And that would be the other one, not Randy Orton. By the way, Randy Orton always gets cheered too, you know.
Punk. Do not tell me Randy Orton supposed to be a...
Well, punk's a clear baby face. You can't argue that he's really a heel at all right now.
The question was, who's more popular? Who gets cheered?
more than Roman Reigns.
And the answer is punk.
Oh, yeah.
And he won't say punk's name.
Interesting.
I didn't even pick up on that, but good catch there.
You're a baby face right now.
No, he's a heel right now.
He's a heel right now.
But right after Cody, they might turn him right back baby face.
They might.
Just like Kenny Omega.
Kenny Omega is a baby face.
And Kenny Omega is a baby face now.
But he was a heel against World Osprey because that's what the role called for.
Absolutely.
He turned heel.
Don't tell me he was a baby face in the last month with Osprey.
He was the heel.
He teamed with the Young Bucks
his baby faces in a match.
That was completely bizarre.
That was completely bizarre.
No, it's not because it's how it's booked.
It's like,
I know it's how it was bizarre.
Because literally on one show,
on one show,
Brian,
he was a heel of the making of the show.
He then worked.
Let me stop it for a second.
It's not bizarre.
It's how it was booked.
What is that excuse?
It was booked bizarre.
They were partners because everybody,
Everybody has figured out by now
they're friends and they just want to play with each other
and it doesn't matter what's good for the program
or the promotion.
They just always throw those knitwits together
so they can jump around.
Jump around.
It doesn't mean it makes sense.
Let's go back to this.
We have a little more audio.
Marked as a baby face and then came out
and did a heel angle at the end of the hill
killing the top guy at Wembley.
This is 2026.
wrestling. At the top of the card, at the top of the card, you're going to have, because the top
guys are very often baby faces. And that's where Meltzer said, what's audio cut off? But the observer
posted their official version of it. So let's go back and pick up this audio right from where
we left off. That when you have a baby face versus baby face match, one of the guys will be a
heel for the match, for the program, but they are not necessarily heels. Look at swir. Oh, good Lord.
Swerve?
Yeah, look at Swerve.
He's been a baby face at a heel 16 times,
which is why nobody gives his shit anymore.
He went from terrorizing babies
to fucking standing up for the rights of the common man
and back again.
And here's another thing.
You can be a subtle heel.
You can show that you need to dig a little deeper
and maybe take a shortcut when you're in the match
with the other baby face.
That's the subtle heel.
Who was doing that the other day?
punk punk was doing it remember in fucking
Toronto with Owens but that didn't mean that punk
then when the referee was down went outside the ring
grabbed a fucking screwdriver and tried to stab Owens in the eye
because that wouldn't be natural for the person
that he is portrayed to be to do
and again the argument this is modern wrestling
this philosophy yeah that now there's the argument
Modern wrestling, that's why it's completely fucking shot to hell,
because none of this shit makes any sense.
And these indie-minded nitwits that grew up listening to Uncle Dave
before he got Alzheimer's even.
They can't figure it out.
That's what the problem with modern wrestling is.
Well, let's finish it up with their talk about swerve here.
A swerve is a total heel.
Not anymore.
Not anymore.
He's not.
Probably not that he's aligned with the new day,
but he was absolutely a heel up until,
Sunday. That's right. You need to return because it's situational. Now because of his partners,
now he is a baby face. What's Roman Rand? That's the end. Okay, now wait a minute. So you're
telling me that if Charles Manson came to court with two nuns and a preacher from the
prison and announced that he had reformed because he comes in with nice guys, he's a baby face.
I'm not telling you that. That's what Dave's telling me. Dave may be telling you that. As long
as you hang out with nice people, then it doesn't matter what you've done instantly,
you're okay again.
Well, again, that's the end of the audio, and it's fun to laugh at them bickering.
Again, the video of Dave at one point shaking the mic just because he has so much to say.
But I think it highlights a bigger issue.
They may not be talking about it like it's a problem, but I think it's a problem.
You know, I always say that AW could do whatever they want on dynamite.
It doesn't matter.
The fan's going to buy the pay-per-view based off seeing Omega versus Osprey,
as opposed to, wow, they really talk me into wanting to see this.
Yeah, if the TV had any effect on business one way or the other,
then by now, you know, as rotten as it's been for as long as it's been,
they'd be out of business.
So I think the people watch the TV to see these nitwits and overlook the
stupidity and just want to see the matches.
I bet AEW is a lot more enjoyable if you just watch the paper views.
If you just did that?
I don't know if I'd go that far.
Well, again, I don't know.
Maybe the same amount of time as a month worth of TVs, I don't know.
But I think the idea that there are no baby faces and heels and that guys can
situationally, makes me think it's a situation comedy, that they could just all
a sudden, Kenny Omega, turn heel.
Swerve was a vicious heel and now he's a smiling, happy guy again with a dancing manager.
I mean, just what the fuck?
I don't like this idea that everything's situational.
This is maybe something I worked in Japan in the past, but I don't think, again, for American
wrestling TV, which is something that American wrestling company seem to be getting away from
as far as they can, just what worked and what didn't, what kind of, whatever.
No baby faces and heels. That's smart.
Yeah. That's, well, again, it's Japan because they culturally don't like people that have personal issues to begin with as much as we do.
They don't like to have arguments over. They're very polite people. So it evolved differently.
But, you know, goddamn, they eat fucking monkey brains in Tibet or whatever. I don't, I'm sorry.
cultures are different. I'm glad they like Japanese wrestling. Don't try to do it here.
It don't work.
Well, Jim, the good thing now is that no matter where you are in the world, you can be
a well-versed wrestling fan. What I mean is you can watch various shows, no matter what
streaming platform they are on worldwide. If you're in the States and you have trouble with one,
you can maybe find a way to say you're in Canada. And actually, we may know someone who can help
them with this wonderful vacation, our friends at Surfshark.
Well, many Americans would like to move to Canada these days with the advantages they have
versus what we've got going on here.
But if you'd like to move virtually, just to try it out and at least see if you can watch
the television programs that you like to watch, well, ladies and gentlemen, our friends
at Surfshark can help you out because not only can they secure your entire digital life,
not only do they have a completely risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee.
Not only can they make sure that all of these naredew wells and hooligans
around the world on the black interwebs can't screw you around,
but now you can watch the wrestling that they try to get you to pay an arm and a leg for here in this country.
And all you got to do is go to surfshark.com slash J-C-E.
Because when you sign up for all of those important things, then you will get four extra months of Surfshark with that code of JCE right on top of that.
That's what I'm trying to say.
You sign up for Surfshark at surfshark.com and you use the code JCE and you get four extra months.
And that way, let's, that's Survivor Series.
that's whatever the hell they're doing in December,
that's the Royal Rumble.
Just right there, holy mackerel.
So once again, if you're like everybody in the world except me
and you don't mind the streaming stuff
and you want to see what you want to see
without paying through the teeth for it,
surf shark is the way to go.
Brian, you can just get the surf shark
and then he can just take those razor sharp fangs
and rip through all of the red tape
and get you to where you want to be.
Do you have to be in Canada?
Maybe you could even be in Trinidad or some
South Sea Island.
Sarajevo?
Azerbaijan.
The way you do and you'll clean it up.
But nevertheless,
there are many of these streaming services.
So many I can't name.
They're all over the place.
They're just, we're infested,
with them. You've got to have somebody be able to navigate this thing and also to let you know
that you're in good hands when you're trying to tell people that you live in Winnipeg when
you really live in Delray Beach, Florida. Right? I didn't want people to know I was in Delray,
but yeah. Well, I'm not talking about, I'm talking the Royal U. Oh, not just U specifically,
but all the U's out there, these two U's out there, all.
To my cousin Vinnie references in like three weeks.
Hey, I'm just telling you, I'm a Vinny fan.
But folks, once again, don't, don't be left out and don't pay through the teeth.
Don't let these wrestling promotions, these multi-billion dollar entities, take all of your money.
Just go to surfshark.com.
Use the code JCE for four extra months on top of what you sign up for.
And they'll let you unlock the door to the promised land of watching a bunch of things that
For whatever reason, greed is preventing you from accessing here in the United States.
Watch all your wrestling on your terms.
I don't know why I'm doing this like Rick Flair.
Watch all your wrestling on your terms.
Surf Shark.
With capital letters in the front of every word.
We're very good friends at Surf Shark one more time.
Jim, that promo code for a great deal for the listeners.
Surfshark.com slash J-C-E.
All right, and now it's time for our final presentation here today, ladies and gentlemen.
Questions and more return next week. I see a few songs have come in, but we're going to end on this note.
On your show, on the experience, Jim, we recently reviewed audio of the former Velveteen dream, Patrick Clark,
at a press conference for a company called Dual Arena.
and it was by far the biggest shit show
of a press conference we've ever heard the audio of
it was amazing
it was amazing in its preposterosity
apparently the event
the shit show continued and it turned into
just a monsoon of shit
the shit monsoon
let me put buddy down for this shit monsoon
yeah hopefully he doesn't create one of his own
on your rug.
Holy mackerel.
But Jim, there was a lot going on with this event.
We've heard a lot of feedback from people
about the things that weren't the Velvetine Dreams fight.
But we're going to start with that.
Well, and I told you, I've got some questions,
and I was hoping you were able to search the Internet
and find the answers to some of these questions
because this entire thing,
what made like the classic,
Remember that San Francisco Cow Palace wrestling show and fan fest like 20 years ago that turned into a event.
It was MMA guys and wrestlers and about 150 guys were booked.
And then a bunch of people didn't even get tickets and the ones that were there didn't get paid.
The MMA people were pulling guns and trying to find people.
That'll look like WrestleMania next to this fucking fiasco.
I have never heard of who the promotion that was.
was putting it on. I don't know who the guy that was that was running it. I don't know how
that he convinced anybody honest. There were a couple of professional fighters on this thing.
I don't know how it was marketed or sold to them. And then they just apparently got a bunch of
fucking Yehus off the street. Because the guy that Velveteen Dream was fighting is a podcaster
with a background, I quote, from the Internet in the adult film industry.
And the only reason that, you know, he was fighting was apparently because he's got an audience.
That's why I said earlier, I said 20 years ago, they could have done me and Rousseau and actually drawn some money.
But none of these people were, nobody involved with this was qualified for the position they were in.
promoter, fighters,
all except for the poor announcer,
and he apologized.
So I...
By the way, that's not a joke.
Apparently this guy's been on several sites,
including our YouTube videos,
saying that he had nothing to do with this.
He didn't know what kind of shit show.
He didn't know what kind of shit show this was going to be.
And so,
first of all,
as you mentioned,
with the dreams fight,
he had,
I say the dream,
the velveteen dreams.
he entered, his entrance music was Dolly Parton's 9 to 5.
What a heel.
Now, again, but that's the thing is that, I mean, she, was he supposed to be the heel?
He was trying to defend himself as a baby face at the press conference.
But why would you do that?
And the only reason that the people weren't throwing shit at him is because there was absolutely no reaction to,
him, the music, or anything else, because from what I could tell, there were no people in this
arena. The only people that you could see are like the fighters, you know, walkout contingent
and the ringside personnel. And then the building is dark, but every once in a while, you can
make out one person with a light colored shirt sitting in a section all by himself. So it was just
it was like they were doing this in the backyard for practice except it's a major fucking building right
and they've already had people write the arena and ask if they're going to or call or whatever
people do these days are you going to have this shit again more Nazis and there were Nazis
actual like not you're a Nazi but no I I'm saying I'm a Nazi type of Nazi that's the thing
the word Nazi gets thrown around so easily now
that sometimes you have to really specify
these are declared Nazis
these are actual. It's not other people
and they're saying it about themselves.
It's not an accusation.
It's an admission.
And so they,
what is the name of the building, the arena?
It's the...
We're in Orlando, Florida,
where I know Florida has a reputation
for letting anybody do any stupid thing,
but...
It is the Kia Center.
That's...
don't the big ball teams play there?
What is the, what is the capacity?
Let me find that out right now.
Because that's the, it was like a pisshole in a snowbank.
You had the, the ring, which again, we heard they were going to have a cage,
but then it was a ring with five ropes.
And that was lit up.
And they tried to throw all the light on the ring because you didn't want to see any of the
arena, any of the seats, because there, there were no people, Jerry.
Where about the people?
18,000 for NBA.
Aye, aye, aye.
Has anybody reported an attendance figure?
What about Russell texts?
Did they branch out and cover this?
Oh, I don't think they did, but let me double check that.
I'm going to say the attendance figure was 250, and that may be patent it.
And so he comes while you're checking.
Not cover this extravaganza.
Well, you know, point is, if anybody wants to go online, keep listening to us, but try to find a quoted attendance figure.
But so dip shit comes out to nine to five.
The opponent comes out.
There's no reaction to him.
Either he is being led by a midget and costumed ballet dancers.
And the only reason that I didn't stop to do a double take was because.
Remember, Dream accused this guy of having some kind of irrational relationship with a midget,
but this was a male midget rather than the female midget that we still believe tiny smalls must be.
So then the introductions and got no reaction.
And Patrick Clark, he looks great.
You would be convinced he's in wonderful physical condition.
I'm pretty sure he's strong enough because he's got a nice upper body that he could hit hard if he tried and knew how.
But there was absolutely, how would you even go through, he's obviously never been in an actual fight, a fight, fight of any kind.
But how would you go through wrestling training and not know any more about what to do if somebody, if you're trying to really fight somebody?
I think you're being too hard on him.
I just don't think you,
maybe you just haven't seen a lot of modern fights
where people punch with both hands at the same time.
Well, see, those weren't even punches.
That was just more like, oh, please get away from me.
Stay back.
But he had nothing,
no concept of what to do.
And the other guy
was just some tattooed up dumb
fuck that had no physique whatsoever and has never fought or done anything but he was trying
he was at least trying because it looked like Patrick was scared from the get-go
and his hacksaw butch reed used to say if you're scared say you're scared if you're a mouse
squeak well Ryan Poundall now came out swinging like it really seemed like he really did want to
hit this guy yeah I think and I think he might have been telling a truth you
yeah, I just want to fucking hit this guy because he's a piece of shit.
But then again, you know, that's like picking a turd up by the clean end
because this guy was allegedly improperly engaged with a fucking midget.
I don't know.
So the only time I heard, they booed when Patrick Clark there was a break
and he threw the punch on the break.
It was like a cheap shot in a wrestling match.
and then at the end of round one they go in a clinch it looked like Clark was just trying to duck down dream whatever VD
ducked down and grab him so he couldn't hit him and he bare hugged him and pushed him all the way through the ropes out onto the announce table
and that was the end of round one and then they started round two and what's a power
now fucking pickled him once and he front face locked the guy VD did and then a second time he ducked out
through the ropes like a fucking heel in a wrestling match with a referee get him back and and that got
some booze too I think from the fucking ringside officials where the old one's booing and then there
was a flurry and another clinch and VD tried to hip toss him
and got docked to point by the referee.
I didn't know because I don't think it's ever happened before in boxing.
You can be docked to point for trying to hip toss.
Brian wins the last time that happened.
Was that between John L. Sullivan and William Muldoon?
I don't know.
Maybe Roddy Piper and Mr. T.
I'm not sure.
It could have been.
That could have been.
And then there was a flurry and old VD shoves.
the guy back into the ropes and through the ropes and the referee disqualified him.
And that's obviously, I guess what he was trying to do was just fuck around and long enough
to figure out some way the referee would save him without him ever actually getting hit
because there was no on either side.
There was no damage done here unless one guy balked his head when they went through the ropes.
But it, there was nothing.
But of course, that was the theme of the show.
And it wasn't even the worst thing on the show.
But they do the bring them to the middle and announce the winner.
And O.V.D. refused the handshake.
And then they flipped each other off.
And then when they got Dream out of there, then a pow now did a promo as, hey, kids, beware.
He's on the loose.
I'm like, what the fuck?
he's a good promo i like him
what do you think the people at the arena thought
is that the the arena equivalent of being a cheap
whore doing anal for no tip in an alley
i don't think so because i know what else was on this show
this may have been like you know
no i mean just hosting this whole event
the entire event someone should lose a job
someone to lose their job for booking this event
For a major arena in a major metropolitan city to, for any amount of money, rent themselves out to this, I would think would be embarrassing.
And they're getting killed in the local media in Orlando. Also, this is extraordinary in terms of just racism on the loose.
Dual Arena tweeted out a picture or an image of Patrick Clark giving Ryan Poundall now the finger during the decision.
during the decision.
And they wrote
Dual Arena would I have to apologize
for ever having platformed the
classless, disqualified
chimp, Patrick
Clark Jr.
Oh!
And will promise to do better by
its fighters in the future.
Big congratulations to Ryan
Palinow for his magnificent victory.
They called him
a chimp.
Well, the next thing they tweeted out, or at least that was sent
here to us, they responded
to someone with an image of Patrick Clark saying actual monkey.
So they doubled down on chimp and went with that.
That is wild.
Well, they had booked the Nazis.
Yeah, but did you hear who the Nazi fought?
Who did the Nazi fight?
The Nazi who is apparently a, what's his name here?
His name is, what's Nazi's name?
Paul Miller, but he goes by Gypsy Crusader.
And he fought against,
do I have the other guy's name?
I have the info.
It's an Israeli kickboxer
who was convicted of oral copulation with a minor.
So it was a pedophile Jewish fighter
against a Nazi,
like an actual Nazi Nazi.
Again, that was on this show.
And when's the last time that there was a card or a show or anything
There were there were multiple accused pedophiles on the card
that also were brought attention to by the press conference
by the exact promotion.
They didn't try to cover it up.
They aired it out at the fucking promotion for the show.
So they're trying to sell tickets to Nazis and pedophiles.
Actually, I'm surprised in Orlando.
know they didn't have a bigger crowd.
And then again, when they look for a way out of that and they went to the next fight,
that guy said he would just fuck everyone.
There was no winning in this.
And I got to say something, but I'm going to give you a warning.
I told you, I was going to ask you about who this dick lick is that owns this fucking thing.
Oh, man.
But I got to talk about the last fight because the last fight of the night.
After the Nazi.
After the Nazi and the whole thing was apparently between a guy, hold on,
buddies try to chew my cord to my headphones.
You're going to knock Daddy off the air.
You might make money with that from somebody.
Let go.
Oh, don't pull that that hard.
Okay.
The last fight was a guy in a SpongeBob outfit
fighting what looked to be a middle-aged Japanese businessman
in a suit and tie wearing big white boxing gloves
where it looked, the SpongeBob guy was
trying to fuck this guy up.
And the businessman looked like he was,
had been marched in there at gunpoint and forced to do this.
He was confused.
He didn't know where he was.
He kept getting knocked down, falling down, trying to escape.
And SpongeBob would jump on him.
And that's when the announcer was actually, oh, this is hard to watch.
Oh, thank God, this is over.
And he was meaning it.
And so that was.
again, that was on the card.
It wasn't like these are sponsors.
They booked this somehow.
Who and the opening fight?
That's why I was going to ask you about who the opening fight apparently was the owner of this shit show, the promoter.
Well, they said that, but I can't find out who was information.
Well, if they, if the announcer said it, one would think it was true.
But the point is, the promoter is a guy that looks like he's five, five,
put eight and 120 pounds and fishy white
and has the physique of a child
and he was fighting another midget.
He actually fought the midget.
I think you're making this guy a little bigger than he looked.
When I first saw this, when I was just going through
looking for the Velveteen dream match,
I thought it was a child versus a little person.
And I couldn't believe that that sanctioned or not
was taking place in the States.
And then I realized it's not a child.
It's somehow a grown man, but he's not fully grown, or he had the wrong milk.
Just something's off.
Was he born before they took the lead out of paint?
He had like a third nipple.
Like, there was something going on with this guy.
Oh, I'm glad I didn't watch on a screen big enough to detect that.
Yeah, I mean, you know, you didn't really miss much not seeing that little thing, but...
So who is this guy? Where did he get enough money to do this?
I don't know.
Is this like
what was his name?
The guy that won the lottery
and fucking started the girls wrestling company
or old Gordon Scazzari
that got an inheritance
and
but this guy wanted to do
whatever this was,
MMA boxing,
Naziism?
Hold on, who owns
duel?
All my shit just got knocked over.
Okay, I thought that was thunder.
No, it's, but he got his foot tangled up in my headphone court.
Okay, you go back down.
Uh, duel.
It says here it's owned by someone else who's not that, uh, weird looking man.
I don't know.
This seems to be a mysterious thing.
Who owns dual?
Who is, who is doing this?
Somebody, the officials, some regulatory agency or law enforcement official needs to know.
Apparently, there's a guy who.
name Asi Monarch
Ketola
He's the owner of
Dual Casino. Is this dual casino?
If it ain't, then
boy, he needs to call his lawyer because
he's going to be
plastered with this
drek. And then Jim and I look
for who the promoter is. It says
here, Dean Tool
is the promoter. The promoter is a
tool. I've heard that before.
Where are you coming up with all these
names? Why is this?
Who is the promoter?
But that's what I'm so.
Why is it so hard to find out who's behind this thing?
Are they hiding on purpose?
We need to know who the dip shit is
that's got this much money to burn
to book Nazis and pedophiles
and people in SpongeBob outfits
and have the most objectionable show
in the history of combat sports.
We need to know who's behind this.
Yeah, we'll see what else we can
find out and of course if anyone knows where else the velveteen dream will be on a microphone please let
us know you know and i will close with that comment that somebody is hiding here there's somebody
that put a lot of i would say an arena like that it would be a minimum six figure rental to book the
date secure it and have the permits necessary and all that stuff just to do a tv then you've got a
production on top of that once you've rented the arena.
Then whatever promotion they did, I don't know if that cost anything.
Did these people get paid that were on the card?
Were they offered money?
Or did they just come and do it?
Because they're all nuts.
But this was a goddamn six-figure undertaking for absolutely no goddamn return whatsoever.
And I want to know who's crazy enough to spend that much money on something that
even Tony Kahn would have been a shame to present.
Well, we'll see what else we can find out,
and we'll see if they ever get to book their second event.
You know, Dennis Caruso one night called me up with a dream
of a tag team feud between Nazis and Vietnamese.
But we never got to see it play out.
Maybe Duel Arena can conquer that offensive material next.
But Jim, with that.
Yes.
And this, the drive-through is closed.
I don't have it. I don't have it.
