What was that?
No boy.
He's using a hammer today, first.
Yeah.
I know you were saying something.
I won't find out until editing.
Hello again, friends, and you are our friends.
Welcome back to another edition of Jim Cornett's Drive-Thru
The Wrestling and Music Spectacular.
You look forward to each and every week.
I'm your host, The Great Brian Last.
Fun is guaranteed today with the show.
man, the leader of the cult of Cornett, Mr. Jim Cornett.
Yeah, Brian on that organ solo, when you got to the part that usually drives the steak and the
vampire's heart, instead it kind of got strangled. It sounded like somebody had squeezed the balls
of an Afghan hound. That was for you. That was a special version today, just for you, because
you always screech when I go for a high note there. Yeah, well, you went for a low road there.
You're welcome. You're welcome. You're welcome. You're
Welcome, by the way.
Yeah, I don't recall thanking you, but I'm sure that just got left out accidentally.
I've got a lot of anxiety.
You give me the anxiety there with the organ playing, the anxiety.
We've now, we talked about it a couple days ago.
They've said that the AI is going to kill us all.
Human race will be extinct because the AI is smarter than it is.
and as you reflect on things as a whole,
it would be hard to find anything
that's not smarter than the human race.
And then Brian,
Arriba, Amigo,
we have been watching
wrestling from Mexico,
W.D.W.E. style
for quite extensively over the last couple of days.
And one of the,
I got anxiety from seeing the,
the drone,
shots of Mexico City.
When they have the drone shots of New York, at least there's there's like water right
there's some end to the goddamn just plethora of just buildings and city and population.
Well, Manhattan's an island.
Well, but no man is an island, Brian.
But in Mexico City, it just goes on forever.
They couldn't widen back far enough to get away from the word.
you see that there's something else besides city.
And they, and Michael Cole, and I know, of course, he's, you know,
I guess he's as good as the encyclopedia of Britannica as far as referencing world facts,
but 22 million people, there are 22 million people in Mexico City, not in Mexico,
in Mexico City.
Does that sound correct to you?
That's why there's a lot of Lucha shows.
they have a lot of fans well fuck how would you find them that's my point you've seen me in new york
so what is new york city like 10 million 12 million just a little bit more than bug tussle what
you're up there amongst that what is the population up there i'm looking it up for you right now
according to the you don't know where the how many people are in the the immediate area that you live in
I was giving you a survey exact number instead of guessing off the top of my head because I care about thoroughness.
You're bad with due points too, but go ahead.
Well, that's neither here nor there or in the air.
But Jim, according to the 2025, I can't speak English all of a sudden, ladies and gentlemen, the U.S. Census Bureau, as of July 2025,
New York City has an estimated population of 8.5 million people.
Jesus, it's even worse.
So that means that Mexico City is almost three times bigger in terms of the amount of people in it than New York City.
And it says here greater metro area, and I don't know if that is the traditional area here, which would be Long Island and Connecticut and North Jersey, but here it says that would make it 20.1 million.
Oh, good Lord.
Well, that's even worse than when I was there.
You would have think in the last 30 years
they'd have figured out a way to get rid of some of them people.
So the big, I don't know what's worse,
but I'll tell you what, that just gives me anxiety
because there's no easy way
to get from point A to point B.
I've talked about this before, that I need an escape route.
I need a way home that I can clearly see.
And when you go into the downtown part of
city, the goddamn stumbling blocks and obstacles in your way grow exponentially.
All of a sudden, somebody else might have you the keys to your fucking vehicle in their
pocket.
And all of you might be parked three blocks from the hotel that you're staying in, which
requires you to get in an elevator and traverse 30, 40 floors and to get to the ground
to find a way to get to the garage, to find the guy, to get your keys,
to get in the fucking truck, to get the fuck out of there.
And then when you get out of there, where the fuck are you getting out of there?
Then you've got the city with the traffic and the lights and the pedestrians.
You've seen me in New York City.
So if I need Xanax for New York, I would need Propafall for Mexico City.
I've walked with you in New York City.
I have driven you.
in New York City and
I'm a very good driver.
I'm very confident in my skills,
but I would never want to drive you again
because you made me so worried
that I was going to get into a car accident.
Oh, good Lord.
Well, it's just, it's imminent.
You got mad when I yelled at a cab driver.
I remember that.
He could have fucking had a goddamn gun
or a hand grenade or something.
You never know about these people up there.
I'm telling you, but I wouldn't be surprised
if somebody was driving a tank
down the street up there
because it's just a guy.
damn free for all.
But whether driving or
walking or the public transportation
that they talk
of up there or whatever you can't,
it's a chore to go anywhere
of any distance at all whatsoever in these places.
And it just, it gives me anxiety.
I need a clear,
if I decide I'm just going to go home,
I want a clear, unobstructed path.
Hey, I got some New York City news for you.
Okay.
Yesterday, I believe, or maybe it's today, reopening after, it's got to be close to 10 years,
the Carnegie Deli.
What?
Yeah.
Who is it a new, obviously, it would have to be a new person operated, right?
Because that family went down in flames of scandal and fraud.
It's the daughter of the woman who was previously running it, who was the daughter of the previous,
you know, man who ran it, I believe.
And she was, there was some kind of thing
with her and her ex-husband and who knows what.
Weren't they stealing electricity?
Didn't they wire themselves into somebody else
and like hijack six figures worth of electric power
from the city or whatever?
Oh, I don't know.
I will definitely look into that.
That's fascinating.
I think there was, there was some of that.
There was a variety of scandalous behavior going on
with not paying taxes and doing things of that nature, as I recall.
Well, the daughter has brought it back.
I believe they had a mail order business or they were in some stores, but has brought
back the actual location.
It's one block away from where it was in the former location of the stage deli, which is
also another deli that went out of business within the last 15 years.
What happened with all these fucking great delis?
They just all of a sudden, boom, boom, boom, they're gone.
They got priced out.
That's expensive real estate.
well you know speaking of expensive and priced out now last time i'd have been at carnegie
deli would have been 2012 right the last time i probably was in new york city so at that point in
time and i've talked about this on the show but it's been a while obviously but if that's what
after a ring of honor show i hadn't eaten in 18 hours or whatever we would go there and i would
order a couple of things on the menu. And when you order a couple of things on the menu at
Carnegie Deli, you're ordering food for six people. Because like the pastrami sandwich or the
Rubin had two pounds of meat on it. Am I lying? It was that that was literally... You would see the
prices and you go, holy shit, that's ridiculous. And then you'd see the sandwich and there would be
no way you could physically finish it. It would be impossible. Well, for most people, except Jim
Cordette at that point in his life, maybe. Well,
But see, also, that's the thing.
It was like it was $21 for a Rubin,
but this was in 2012.
And you would see that,
you would go, but then when you would see it,
most people would take at least half of it home.
They might share it.
The burger,
the burger was a one pound fucking burger,
the size of a goddamn 45 RPM record around
and thick and had like six or eight pieces of bacon on it or whatever.
That was $22.
But that was 15 years.
years ago, what now if they are keeping the same flavor of the Carnegie Deli in the same
tradition and the same sizes?
What would you need to fucking charge?
Well, I don't know.
I'm looking at their online website.
I'm trying to see if they actually have.
Do they admit publicly to their prices or do they have to get you in a joint first and
then you find out?
I don't see prices.
I don't see prices.
Yeah.
But boy, howdy, I'll tell you what it was.
It was fun to see if you could mow through.
That was my favorite.
You've been there, and I would get a Rubin and a burger and eat pretty much most of the
Rubin and much of the burger or vice versa and take a little bit home, but it was just,
it was lovely with fries.
Go ahead.
I got the menu.
Ah.
Pastrami on rye, $29.
That's not.
Bad considering fucking cold cuts is twice the price that it was at least back then.
I mean, if you actually want to eat it like a sandwich, you would literally have to take out
the middle of it and just save that for another separate sandwich or two.
Yeah, no, because you can't get your mouth open.
Well, once again, most people can't get their mouth open that far.
So pastrami's 29, corned beef, beef, tongue 28, turkey 28, and then a drop.
$24 for salami, roast beef 27, the Rubin, $31.
Jesus.
See, I got expensive taste.
The Carnegie Deli Colossus is 40.
That's pastrami, corned beef, turkey, Swiss coleslaw, Russian dressing on rye.
Wow.
And they got good Russian dressing, too, which is just really nice Thousand Island, but it's...
No, but good Russian dressing.
is a big thing. Yeah, this is
great. I'm good. I'm so hungry
looking at this right now. Do they
have catfish? No, of course
not. This is a... Catfish and hush puppies
on the menu. What's the matter with them?
They're losing out on a big revenue stream.
Catfish is more popular than wrestling in some
circles. And you know, this location that's bringing
back, they actually had like all... I don't know
if there was like a CBGB thing where they kept the
walls, but they have like all the original
photos, all the original tables, like all the original stuff from the previous location.
I would think they'd think they could take the pictures down without bringing the walls with them,
though.
CBGBs, that's what they said.
They literally took the walls down for the idea they would rebuild it at one point in the
future.
But did you get your picture on the wall?
I don't remember.
I don't know.
Because I remember they recognized you there.
I just don't remember.
I almost feel like you and Stacey may have.
at some point there was something, but I don't remember now.
I have, I at some point have promised someone because we wouldn't like we would have walked in with pictures under our arm,
but at some time have promised someone that I would send them a picture.
Was it to Carnegie Deli?
I don't know.
If now, if they've got all the pictures up, then somebody can go in and reconnoiter and see if,
see if I'm up there.
I'm at the pizza place in Blue Springs, Missouri.
I'm up on that wall. I can tell you that.
All right. French toast $21, but I bet it's really good.
Well, this has been the any more city population talk, Jim, this has been simply.
I knew French toast had to come into it some kind of way, but that's the thing, but it was a,
the Carnegie Deli was an enjoyable oasis in a scene of panic.
and at time that me and Stace took
were by ourselves we took the cab over there
I had to fucking walk it off for 10 minutes
I had a panic I was telling him
brother I will give you a larger tip
if you will slow the fuck down
and it was like every block
he would the red light he would floor it
like his Mario Andretti trying to
fucking win a drag race and get up to 50 miles an hour
in the middle of the block and then slam on his fucking brakes
and even though it's one in the morning still.
And he would not list that.
That's the only cab driver I've ever encountered in New York or anywhere
that for more money would not do something.
So I gave him no tip whatsoever.
And fucking stood around and walked a fucking,
and then I said after we got out of there,
rather than getting a cab again,
I said, it's a nice night, let's walk a bit.
And we walked back to the hotel.
What was that?
40 fucking blocks.
they're getting another one of them son of a bitchies
the thing was too you didn't know the new york you had come to new york for crockett you had come to
new york for the wf but by the time you were coming more regularly with ring of honor
your exposure was mostly midtown manhattan yes that's why that time exposure is a good word
for it too here's something i'm like the only person in the world who could say that's why
when i took you down the greenwich village gym we got to just chill out there was less traffic
less beeping, less cars, more weirdos.
It was a lot of fun.
It was a little more relaxing.
Was that where we went in the bookstore and I saw the giant roach that I was afraid would
carry me away and as a result did not want to eat in any of the restaurants on that side
of the street if they were in adjoining buildings?
That may have been.
I think that was St. Mark's Comics.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was enjoying looking through there until it got crowded.
and then it was Stacy,
oh, let's get some,
whatever it was to eat
and that play the three doors down.
I said, no, let's go all the way across the street.
But that's the day, though,
I got to get you in front of CBGB for that picture we took.
So we at least got that.
Yes, well, that picture we took.
Do you remember what you were wearing?
All right.
Well, this has been city talk.
Yes, city talk.
Of all the cities you lived in.
Pretty shitty city talk.
Which was the most populous,
would it have been Charlotte?
Of all the places you did?
Of what?
Of all the cities you lived?
Mexico City.
Oh, of all the cities I lived in.
No, I was in Atlanta for three months in 1985, so technically that would count.
And you hated driving there.
Well, I thought I did then, but since I've seen what's happened to it 40 years later,
no, it was a fucking breeze back then.
We could leave.
Our apartment, right near the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport,
for anybody that has any kind of grip on Atlanta geography,
we could leave to go to, for example, on a Monday,
oh shit, what was Monday?
Monday was Augusta.
Yes, we could leave to go to Augusta 150 miles away at 4 o'clock
and be at Augusta by 630.
you wouldn't be out of fucking metro goddamn Atlanta at that point by now but yes that way and I wasn't
in the city anyway we we hardly ever went we weren't important enough to go downtown in
Atlanta we were doing all the spot shows remember so we had Columbus Macon
Augusta Knoxville Chattanooga we'd ever go downtown I'm not a downtown I'm not a downtown
person, Brian.
Are you there?
Are you speaking to me at this point?
I'm speaking over here on mute.
What I was going to say, Jim, is whether you're in Columbus or Knoxville or Macon,
they're making great deals right now at Cornett's collectibles, Jim Cornett.com.
I wish that we were selling bacon because then that would have been to Prague.
We're making bacon.
But folks, if you'd like to make wonderful Christmas gifts for you or your family, close friends,
loved ones, whatever the case may be, or even people that just piss you off and you want to
give them something to go away.
The holiday sale at Jim Cornett.com begins on Saturday, October 3rd at noon Eastern time,
but this coming Saturday, September 19th, you will be able to go to Jim Cornet.com

Scott is way too charitable
because this book is giant
and not only that but he added all of Kit Bowman's

and then a bunch of extra
interview material with Lou on top of what
the original book and it's just it's amazing
pictures lots of pictures he put it

of news and information
so that's one of the great wrestling books of all time
if you want to know where all this stuff started.
And also for stocking stuffers while they last,
you can get a copy of Behind the Curtain for only $10 if you purchase a copy of my star-studded book,
Heroes and Friends.
And we've got a few surprises from the vault and something else that I will announce
this weekend on the Jim Cornett experience or this coming up
or made a few days from now.
The final
Bobby Eaton autographs.
We're going to go over that
in detail.
There's like seven items.
And Brian, I hate to admit this
because it makes me sound like an idiot.
But the last couple of fanfests
that we did together
back in 2019,
I had
the pictures that we were signing,
we had display models, display copies on the table,
and I stuck them in with all my other pictures
and didn't realize that Du Bois had signed them.
And I've got two magazines and a special surprise,
but I got like seven Bobby Eaton autographs.
And for the Midnight Express and or their families for Christmas,
they're going to cost you some money,
but there will never be no more.
and all those, the families are getting equal shares for Christmas,
so they may be Spenskyb, but they'll be worth it.
More details on that, on the next program.
Jimcornad.com.
That's right.
Jimcornet.com.
Well, Jim, with that, let's take a short journey into something or to something.
Let's go away, I guess is the point.
What's up?
Let's just go away.
Let's go away.
And let's go to this previously recorded review of SmackDown.
Jim, you know that means Smackdown took place again.
So we got to talk about WW.
That's the official Smackdown theme music.
I instantly recognized that Smackdown took place by that
that scintillating chord you just played.
It was a series of almost chords.
But the point is they were in Mexico City, a unique Smackdown,
Smackdown in a foreign land, Mexico City, and...
Yes.
I wish the cords had been in a foreign land.
Usually the, uh, there's nothing happening on Smackdown, but this week we got some big events.
Well, we, we, we had a big event, a big happening, a blessed event, as far as Sammy
is concerned.
Sammy Zane, re-won, regained one back, however you want to phrase it, the...
Which one is that?
Is that the world title or the...
I can't fucking keep track.
Which, which, which, which, which, which what is it actually?
Realistically.
I can look it up, but I'm trying to do this off top of my head.
I think.
Yeah.
It's, because the world title was one Rollins, that, did they invented for Rollins when
Roman was barely working?
Yes, but Roman came back, have made fun of it originally and came back and won it.
Right.
So I think that's this one.
This, no, this would be the other one then.
Oh, wait, this is that one?
No, listen to.
me.
Listen here now. Listen to me.
You need some cords? Because Roman
made fun of the world title when they
made it for Seth because Roman had the
other one, but then we said, how isn't it
ironic? Like, Ray,
that
he came back and he won that.
And then didn't he, he lost, that's the
one that punk had, right?
Or wrong? What?
Hello?
Who's the champion in the role right now? Roman
Raines, right?
Roman Roman Reigns
Who did he win that from?
Yes, who I forgot.
Who did he win?
He won it from someone.
I know he won it from someone.
See, you know everything.
And you're young.
See, I could be forgiven because I'm old,
but I don't,
we don't care enough about any of this shit
because it just,
it goes on all the time.
Did he win it from punk?
Is that the one he won from punk
and then punk won the other one?
well no that would be this one then oh man
well he's a champion i mean he's he's accomplished well let's nevertheless
let's back up to where they were
Mexico City 12,651 people
that's a nice fucking building
that is that is not I know they say Arena
Mexico is the cathedral of Lucillebrae but Arena Mexico
was built in what
in the 50s,
largely from lumber,
from what I remember reading
in one of the histories of it.
And one would think,
even though they've made upgrades
and et cetera,
that they own the goddamn thing.
Is this like,
is that like a giant ECW arena
where that fucking manager
used to just knock down walls
and start building shit
with no permits up there?
Does anyone else run arena Mexico?
Like outside of wrestling? Do you know?
well they if they own it only with their blessing right but if the like if the concert comes to
mexico city do they ever get concerts is there anything other than wrestling in that building
i bet you if a concert that could hold or hold that could draw 10 or 12 000 people came to
mexico they're going to this building smackdown was in i just bet you it is this a
Dallas sportatorium type of deal where they got rats in the deep fryer over at arena
I don't know.
I'm just wondering.
But I will say everyone I know who goes there,
and I know several people in the last few years who have say it's,
it is like wrestling heaven right now, the last thing around.
Well, the atmosphere.
It'd be like going to the Evansville Coliseum here in this country,
the last remaining building that Strangler Lewis wrestled in or whatever.
I think that's a shoot, by the way.
I think the Evansville Coliseum would probably be the last building that you can still
rent for public events or wrestling or anything else that Strangler Lewis would have wrestled
in.
Somebody ought to do that research.
Anyways, Lewis was not here.
Sean Delaney should do that research.
Sean Delaney, you got them in the museum now.
You need to track down these facts.
But this building is what I'm trying to say in Mexico City.
It wasn't full.
They had parts blocked off.
How big is this son of a gun?
Do you have any idea?
I will find out.
Do they have an in-beye?
team? Why doesn't Mexico City have an NBA team?
It's the National Basketball Association.
Well, it could become the INBA.
They got the WNBA. They could have the INBA, the International National Basketball Association.
I was going to say, why wouldn't it just be IBA at that point?
Well, because you want to keep the NBA in there to make sure everybody knows it's not outlaw.
It sure sounds outlaw, but let me ask you.
There's nothing worse than Outlaw.
basketball.
I'm just trying to
get the facts here and
you know settle these things
but it was a nice
building they were in. Yes.
Nice building.
So Randy Orden was there
and boy howdy
they love him
down in old Mexico.
They did the
video replay of what he and
Cody did at Saturday night's main event.
and then he did the in-ring promo
and he started,
what do you want to talk about?
And every time he mentioned Cody's name,
they would boo.
Did you catch that?
It was not a surprise.
It's not a surprise at this point.
Well, but I mean, it was so,
it was so universal.
It was so, it was all, you know,
usually it's like a mix,
but I was thinking at first,
are they booing because he's knocking Cody
and they're just booed every time he says Cody's name.
And the whole promo was,
Randy Orton said that Cody showed the world who he is.
He's not a killer.
He's a good man.
He's a good father, a good husband, a good friend.
He's no killer, but I am.
And they were, yes, kill some people for us.
So he doesn't care about being a good person.
and anybody between him and number 15,
I will not hesitate to pull the trigger.
And whoever's champ after tonight, I'm coming for you.
And they're like, yes, kill them all.
There's a phrase I don't want to hear in wrestling anymore for a while.
Pull the trigger.
They just had a whole view in AEW over pulling the trigger.
Because they're playing video games.
I mean, it actually can be,
and I'm surprised that it's not the subject of more,
protest or
you know controversy when they say
that because of the gun situation
in this country is only
one of the many things we have to worry about
so it's kind of
not exactly
in good taste but it also
it comes from these fucking people
are playing video games
and
I don't necessarily know that Randy's
playing video games he's a grown adult
rich person but
they're probably right in
shit like that frame me okay i'll say it
but everybody put the trigger
how about you hit hit somebody over the head with a fucking shovel
i will not hesitate
Brian last to hit that son of a bitch over there
with a fucking shovel in our match
but he will
that should be more like it
it would stand out because no one threatens with a shovel
so if someone actually said that i think would stand that more than
i won't be afraid to pull the trigger
What trigger?
You're going to kick them?
What trigger exactly?
I will not be afraid to swing the shovel.
How'd you like an ice pick in your eye?
That's what it's going to feel like.
That's what it's going to feel like.
Metaphorically, Cody.
Well, they're already using a screwdriver in AEW,
so why don't they use an ice pick?
I'm going to take a pick axe to your spinal column.
I mean, I'm going to hit an automatrop.
They can go so much.
many different ways with this.
You know, that's what the cops told me
that the bulletproof vest will not stop an ice
pick. That always
comforted me.
Yeah, they had a match with Ricky
Saints and Phoenix for the
AAA Cruiserweight title.
Yeah.
Trick Williams was massively
over
and got big cheers for a
soccer player and a soccer ball
and did a great
promo.
and then introduced Yadi
and he got kind of a pop and he didn't come out
but Trick gave him a bigger introduction and he didn't come out
and then Baron Corbin drug him out and dumped him on the stage and ran
and when Trick came to help him up Baron Corbyn came back out
with a stick and leveled trick. Trick was leveled by a stick.
Why?
Why? This is like
the rock being menaced by the Brooklyn brawler.
They've got a star in Trick Williams.
And the people are even willing to swallow little Yachty along with the ride.
And he's not bad in certain circumstances.
He kind of fits the deal.
And this fucking Baron Corbyn is a waste of space, oxygen, flesh,
water.
Nikki wrestled Paige. Did you see that? Brian, did you see?
I saw some of it. Yeah.
And Chelsea wrestled the refrigerator herself,
Nia Jacks, for the women's title,
where Nia forgot to let go of the ropes.
They did this fancy Dan finish where Chelsea was going to flip over her back
out of the turnbuckle and give her whatever
She calls the unprettier that Christian used to do,
and Nea Jacks didn't let go of the ropes,
and Chelsea just fell in a fucking heap
and the human waterbed on top of her,
and Eddie go back to it.
Hey, Damien Priest and Truth,
when they got beat by the Vikings,
priest turned on Truth and laid him out.
That'll be an excellent first match program.
And that was pretty much Smackdown, except for our main event,
Brian, where Sammy Zane was going to get his long-awaited chance.
How long has he waited now?
Six weeks, whatever it was, to get back for the world title.
Did we ever figure out which world title this is?
It is one recognized by WWE.
Well, that narrows it down to half a dozen or so.
So, and by the way, how many shows are they running?
Mexico. They had 12,000 people here on a Friday night. We know that Raw is in Mexico and also
the AAA show and but that TEPA. And also there are another Latin American countries, I believe,
right now because I just saw a clip earlier today of Stephanie Vakere winning the women's title
from Liv Morgan at a house show in Chile, her home country. Well, I don't mind them being
a different country, but how many times they go run the same city? I know.
Mexico City has a lot of people in it.
But goddamn.
How many shows in a week period of time
are they running in Mexico City itself?
It seems like a lot, but the bigger question,
and I don't have the answer, but how many wrestling shows a week
are run in Mexico City?
I'm pretty sure it's like at least two dozen.
Well, yeah, because CMLLL at Arena, Mexico
is going to do, does three a week, right, in that building.
That one building.
That one building and that one promotion, that promotion runs other shows at other venues in there in a
Mexico City as well. And, you know, this other wrestling show. It's just nonstop wrestling there.
But geez, at these prices, one would think that there would be a limit. Nevertheless, Sammy Zane is one of the best promos in the business. Are you aware of this?
I agree with you. I agree. He was in the back doing a
promo and all of the things that he's been doing complaining and he's been screwed and
blah, blah, blah, and he wants justice. But it's so natural. It's not scripted sounding coming from
him. And he just rattles it off. And it's great. And the angst on his face and the body
language, everything fits. And he said, he would have been fine if so-and-so beat punk. And he would
have been fine of so-and-so beat punk but they didn't and he realized it can't be anybody else
it's got to be me that beats punk and gets my justice and i'm taking it back tonight and i'm like
this is fucking great he is cooking and then m walks fucking johnny's same face and the purple-headed
pixie candy and they hug and so now they're using this little turd as a mcuffin
because basically Sammy has obviously gone to him and made a deal.
And Johnny's there asking, so if you beat punk tonight, I'm next, right?
Like he's going to get a world title shot again.
And Sammy kind of reluctant, well, we'll talk about it.
No, no, no, no.
You said, I'm next.
Yeah, you're next.
Okay.
So no honor among thieves.
But now this, again, this little nitwit involved in grown folks business, I'm just
it could have been somebody else that maybe could have benefited from it.
And then later on, they had punk in the back saying sometimes you have to reward bad behavior
or teach it a lesson.
And, you know, so that's why he's doing this and blah, blah, blah,
giving the title match.
I'm not going to lose to a guy who broke his hand jacking it to a nine-day title reign.
okay
but nevertheless
it was time for the big match
Sammy and punk
for the title whichever one it may be
and Sammy
when he entered he got
he got booze but he still got
some wooing with the music
and then
like a booselaine
in Mexico
they all sang the fucking song
even it's in English
did you have to pass a bilingual test to get in this crowd or do they just they do it like the
the new lead singer of journey and learned everything phonetically what do you think
I think if you're a wrestling fan and you're a devoted wrestling fan and you hear the same song
over and over you probably know the words no matter what your language is I don't know what the
words are I don't know I don't know I've heard the
German version of Der Commissar, and I still can't figure it out.
But when WWE goes to Germany, they're not singing Cody Rhodes in German.
You know what I mean?
They're singing...
All they have to do is go, whoa!
That's why there's so many woes in music, because woes in international language.
Can I... no disrespect to punk here, but I'm going to use this as the point.
Speaking of Cody and punk and Edge and all these people, I like to advocate for more
instrumental intros.
more just sounds and cool sounds
like every wrestler had, you know, years ago.
Enough of this stuff.
I don't need, it's cool the first time you see the fans sing along,
but when the production clearly wants them to do it longer and longer each and every time
and the wrestler just stands there, looking at the crowd like he's really proud,
like, yeah, all right, enough of this.
It's happening all the time now.
But anyway.
Well, you know why the one reason, why the midnight
Express had Chase as our music was obviously because it was from the movie Midnight Express
and it was cool, but also you not only couldn't sing it, you couldn't really hardly hum it.
And so the people announce our arrival, but at the same time not engender any, oh, I love that
song, I sing along. So same thing with the heavenly bodies, Frankenstein. Nevertheless,
it was clobbering time here in Mexico.
And besides their goddamn television formatting,
they rang the bell, punk lit into him,
did a spot where he tweaked his leg
and they went to break in like 25 seconds.
Yeah, that was the, that's the story of the match,
the finish and all the commercials in the middle of the match,
so you barely saw any match.
Yeah.
When they came back,
they had the slug fest,
but you could see that punk was selling the knee,
and that was the story of the match.
And Sammy started working on it,
wrapped it around the post, got heat on it.
Punk would try to fight back,
but the knee kept buckling.
And then punk kind of made a semi-comeback
where he started working on Sammy's bad hand.
And he was trying to take the brace off.
I think it wouldn't actually come off.
They had to work on that for a minute.
but so Sammy kept trying to go for a figure four to work for the knee and punk kept going back to the hand
and obviously punk was the raving baby face here in this one and they had a good fucking match they
they both can work and they make sense and they still managed to get the big two counts
because Sammy couldn't hit the blue thunder bomb but finally did out of nowhere two count
but then punk hit the GTS but his knee went out by the time he could cover it was a two count
and then here came old Gargano and he drew punk and Sammy got a little schoolboy
but then Sammy got the figure four again and punk twisted his hand to where he could
let it go so he could get the vice but Candy drew the referee so he didn't see that
and then they just Gargano tried to hit Punk with the belt,
but punk gave Gargano the GTS and been sold his knee.
But his referee was rolling Johnny out.
Owens came in and got the belt and swung at Sammy,
and Sammy ducked and Owens nailed punk by mistake,
but then he smiled about it.
And then he swung at Sammy,
and Sammy nutshot at him.
He actually shouldered,
it to the stomach team because he missed the first one, but he got it.
And then Sammy hit to kick on punk, one, two, three.
It was a good fit.
The finish kept moving and everybody was there.
I just hated that Gargano was anything to do with it.
But otherwise than that, they have still, they've got,
punk is going to be fucking highly pissed.
You got the thing with Sammy and Kevin still going.
but obviously
this is a new wrinkle
that they can keep this thing up in the air.
I don't mind it.
And nobody saw it coming for once.
Nobody predicted it
and it keeps like
five different angles going.
But what did you think?
I didn't really judge to match
because the commercials took me completely out of it,
to be honest with you.
Yeah, it was too bad.
Two breaks in a 12-minute match.
I'm sure and,
front of a Mexico city crowd was probably a lot of fun, but I couldn't get into it at all.
The finish, I hate that Gargano's being used in this way, but clearly he has fucking
snuff films with Triple H on his phone.
Because there's no, he's so everything, unmarketable, older than what he was when the last
time they tried to do something with him, can't do promos, whatever.
You know, it was all right in terms of the big.
finish, Mexico City gets a big title change.
I wonder if this was all just to set up punk winning it in Chicago
at Worlds Collide if they're going to do that,
which is the show that they decided to do head-to-head with AEW all out
because, you know, they don't worry about AEW,
but they definitely want to punish them every chance they can,
aka they worry about AEW.
But I don't know, I just worry about them hot-shotting the title.
Maybe that's not even a thing anymore.
but I just worry about TKO getting it in their own head
outside of Paul Avec and the creative team
that title changes are good
let's just do lots of title change I worry just for the sake of them
yeah like a very Russo-ish
let's just change it we need a rating put jelly roll on the show
you know that kind of mentality we need a rating switch to title
I worry about that but I think Sammy is unique
in that you can put the thing on him for a few days.
Nobody expects him to have a long rain.
Nobody, he shouldn't really be in the way he's presented.
And on purpose, he shouldn't be the champion.
But he keeps sticking his nose in there and fucking everything up for grown folks.
So I like this.
But I'm with you.
If they get the idea, let's just do this all the time, then, you know, the situation has to fit.
And let's just say what you said is true.
and I would kind of believe that.
This is probably a short-term thing,
just like his first title reign was.
He's now a two-time champion.
He's held the title for what?
Three weeks altogether?
I don't even know.
But if they switch it to punk or Owens,
whatever they do next,
that'll be the thing.
Sammy's a two-time champion in a year.
I don't want this to be a recurring thing
where he just keeps winning the belt
and losing it back.
And again, maybe they won't do that.
But with TKO, I worry about
the logic in the booking more than
the normal concerns about the logic in
WWE creative.
Well, at least so far they haven't asked for a mummy.
I mean, you're okay with the match for what you saw.
What did you think of the finish in terms of Gargano's involvement
than the way Owens got involved?
That's the thing is, I wish it was somebody else
that could possibly benefit by being an entertaining stooge
instead of Gargano is just a waste of everything.
But otherwise than that, Sammy getting in and screwing up things between
who are allegedly the real main event world champion level guys,
whether it be punk and Owens or whoever's in that picture,
but Sammy's in there screwing things up,
they've got something here like when he was the entertaining part of the bloodline.
But he can't win it five times,
but as long as he keeps doing this,
it keeps necessitating other people
to have the match that they never had
or that never lost and blah, blah, blah.
So it's a little juggling,
but I like they had a great match.
The finish worked
and Owens with the smirk about hitting punk,
you know, but they can't just keep doing it constantly all the time.
Yeah, and again, in the last week,
we've had a world title change,
a U.S. title change,
change, a women's world title change,
and those are just the ones I could think of
off the top of my head. Yeah, well,
and remember, we can't remember which
title changed here,
which ought to tell them something,
but
this, with these people, it's
more about the people in the match than the belts
now, because everybody's got a fucking belt.
It's more about the people in the match.
I think the world title, I'll say this,
I'll quit. The world title means
more to a lot of these guys that it
does to the fans anymore.
They just want to see the fucking drama
between the people.
Jim, that was Smackdown,
and things are really cooking right now in
WWE, and a lot
of the listeners are really cooking right now
indoors and outdoors using their
fine hex-clad products.
You know, I made some burgers the other night,
and I was really cooking. I know people are going to say,
do you ever use these for anything else than burgers?
The answer to that is, my hex-clad frying pan,
is so good for burgers that I hardly have time to eat anything else.
You put it on medium heat.
But the incredible hex-clad technology that not only makes it dishwasher safe,
super easy to wipe clean, but also metal utensil safe and almost indestructible,
well, it distributates that heat so well that I get a sear like I had stuck that thing
in the ovens of hell.
Satan himself had kissed this burger all.
on one side, and I flipped it over and there's the juice and you put the cheese on and boom,
it's like seven minutes and you're done on a half pound burger, I'm telling you,
but you can cook anything you want because Hexclad has a pan or a pot or an apparatus for everything.
And whether you're making burgers before kickoff or wings for the guys or breakfast before a
full day of games, they must think that everybody just watching all the football.
and the basketball, whoever writes this copy.
But I'll tell you what, even if you're watching your puppies, ladies and gentlemen,
hex-clad's 12-piece set gives you everything you need for hosting at home or family dinners,
three versatile pans, two sauce pans, and a family-sized stockpot.
This week, it's the Newman family from Carson City, Nevada.
They win $10,000 if they can all get in this stock pot.
Just in case there is a Newman family out there.
You win nothing.
This is not a deal that's authorized or real, as it turns out.
Well, but you ought to wait and see whether they can go get in this goddamn sauce stockpot or not.
What a wait.
I say they can't do it anyway.
So nevertheless, folks, and they've got a six-piece set if you want to upgrade your everyday essentials without replacing the entire kitchen.
But that's the thing.
Once you upgrade, these are the best pans you've ever used.
and the last pans you're ever going to need
because you could take these things out in the driveway
and you could run a backhoe
or a golf cart or a full-sized SUV over them
and still then go in and cook Crape Suzette's
and not even wake Suzette up at the time.
So, and did I mention they come with a lifetime warranty?
Now, don't tell them that you ran over them with the SUV.
Just tell them you loaned them to your cousin
and he, you know, he's hard on things.
But it's literally the last set of pots and pans
you're ever going to need to buy, folks.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's the best you're, even people who can't cook on these things,
you can bluff your way through.
I would think the average bad cook can reduce the risk of salmonella
up to 50% by cooking with these pants.
That's just my, my observation on a thing.
Based on nothing, ladies and gentlemen.
What, that, what did you say?
that means nothing.
Based on nothing.
You don't have any facts or figures.
Based on my observations.
Which are based on?
I haven't died of Salmonella yet.
It's not a...
That's not a scientific...
That's a scientific...
...mars or minus a hundred.
Wait a minute.
It's a scientific fact that I haven't died yet.
If I had died, how the fuck do you think
I'm still talking to you right now?
See?
Prove my point.
Oh.
So, folks, and especially you men out there in the audience,
because if you're watching all this football,
then your wives are probably ignoring you like you're ignoring them.
You're going to have to cook your own food.
So don't go into football season with cookware
that makes game day meals harder than they need to be.
Or just cook good food without disgusting fucking burnt spots
on your shitty pans that clank and clank
and you got to scrub them with the goddamn SOS pad to get them clean.
And then they still don't work right
and they fucking make fucking bubbles in the middle.
It's terrible.
Go with HexClad and make cooking, hosting, and cleanup easier all season long.
And right now, you can get 10% off your order and with the incredible value of these pans.
10%.
That's a lot of money.
10% off with our exclusive link, Hexclad.com slash J-C-E-H-E-X-C-L-A-D.com slash j-C-E-C-E.
10% off on the finest set of cookware you're ever going to have 12 pieces, 6 pieces,
break it up into little pieces. I don't care. Just try. Try to break one of these pans up in
little pieces, I dare you. Don't do that, but of course, if you are going to cook or if your
wife is, these are fine products. We love them here in my house. And of course, my wife is crazy about
them. Yours will be two or you will be two. We're trying to cover everyone, folks. You know what?
I just realized. Also, Stacey made a stir fry. It was all vegetables. There was no meat in it,
so I didn't eat any of it, but she seemed to enjoy it. And it was in the stir fry walk
pan that Hexclad sent us. That's a nice one. And it just, it just, it smelled good. It just didn't
have any fucking meat in it. It was very healthy. You don't have to be a vegetarian every now and then
have a meal that does not have meat. It's okay. It probably tasted delicious if she made it in the
walk. Well, I was going to walk over and see, but I didn't smell any meat cooking.
Jim, walk this way. I understand we have a great promo code for the listeners.
Yes, hexclad.com slash JCE for 10% off on these fine hexclad pots and pans and see if your
family can crawl into that stock pot and win a prize.
Hex squad
There'll be no prize
Simple and to the point
Ladies and gentlemen
We are back here in the real time
Sounds like you fell backwards
ass first onto an organ
That's not very nice
But Jim, we talked about Smackdown
That wasn't the only WWE
Produce show
That night or even that weekend
Boy howdy wasn't it
Triple A had triple
Triplemania, triple mania 34, I believe, two nights separated by two days.
But Jim, let's get to Triplemania and talk about whatever.
Do I need the goddamn Enigma Machine from World War II to decode what the fuck it is that
you are speaking to me today?
You're going around your elbow to get to your wrist in almost every part of trying to
bring something up here.
Now, what are we talking about?
That's kind of my sound.
Jim, what we're talking about here today is Triple Mania.
Arriva.
Yes.
Arriva.
Luis Martinez, do you know that Bobby Fult, I just talked to Bobby Fulton here a day or two ago.
And the first, he said, the first show he ever promoted.
You know when he started wrestling, he was 15 years old when he had his first match?
And he promoted his first show as a promoter three months later.
He was still 15.
His dad helped him.
and Arriba Luis Martinez was on the show.
So that's why I had it in my mind.
Oh, we're talking about the,
we're talking about AAA, aren't we?
Sadly, he was still wrestling after Tito Santana
became a national star,
and then he would, like, introduce himself as the original Arriba man.
Yeah.
With the widest upper body of a human being ever,
it is youth.
He was a bodybuilder or physique fellow.
but as he got like 60
the leg shrunk
and the arm shrunk
but his upper body
it didn't get thicker
he didn't get a bigger belly
it got wider
it was like he's spread
he had the biggest rib cage
since giant Baba
it looked like a fucking rain barrel
and he'd be running around
insisting I'm the original
Arriba man
I'm the original Arriba man
poor fella
but nevertheless
he wasn't on this card
I watched, I was going to watch two things,
and then I realized that not only was it on YouTube,
but it was Dominic and, and Hoosie, what's he?
Our boy there, our friend Ludwig El Grande,
that was like half an hour or more on the show,
and then YouTube gets broken up with a variety of interruptions
when I try to watch it.
So I, but I was morbidly curious,
in almost, who is again almost ready after what's it only been,
seven, eight, nine years, whatever, almost against Ray Mysterio.
That's like one of those freak show matches that those outlaw MMMA groups in Japan
would have had in the late, you know, 90s or whatever.
I figured Ray is a genius and he's always.
always working with people bigger than he is.
This would just be an extreme case,
but we'll see what
almost has for him these days.
And they've dressed him up.
Brian, he's a gladiator now.
Almost.
He's got the, the,
what do you call that? It's not a skirt or a
kilt or a flap.
What is that?
I'm asking you, don't laugh at me
when I'm asking for help.
I don't know.
maybe we could just go if I was drowning off the side of a rowboat stream
but I can't swim and I give me a hand would you just laugh and mock me or would you
reach in and help I throw you a flap
damn I'd whatever it is I don't know what it is but I know what you're talking about
yeah he's got the outfit and the audience is is easy down in in old mexico
so they're milking even more than they milked
up here because I've never seen anybody walks slower to the ring than almost did with Dominic
and Dorian Roaldon who is now he don't own it anymore but he's he's still in I guess as the
kids say in storyline he's the boss of AAA or rogue boss or what's happening with it what's his
status down there I believe you have any idea he's a heel involved with the heels and uh well I know
that. Part of the deal with WWE getting
AAA was he was going to
stay around and his family would retain a
small percentage and... So he's
Dorian Carter.
You know, it's really interesting
that if you really think about it, Tony Kahn
is the most charismatic
of the wrestling promoters that appears on their
own shows. That Carlo Silva,
this guy,
Tony really stands out when you compare him
to the rest.
And he should be
standing out. Out in the parking lot
and lined it. No, all right.
So between
almost milk
in his entrance and Ray
being over and, you know,
the people cheering him
and then them
milking after they got in the ring,
it was ten fucking minutes.
But then they stand there
and the size difference
was visually insane.
It looked like these two
entities couldn't be
from the same species, right?
and Ray did the ducking and the dodging and the bull fighting and a people,
Olae!
And bless almost his heart, they've taught him how to Marcel Marceau a match.
The pantomime, the milking, the facials, the slow heat, the making things,
you know, making a simple thing mean as much as you can.
but when you break it down, he really, he still can't fucking do anything, can he?
I mean, he can do the things that require him to grip something and fling his arm in a direction.
But it's still not like, remember Andre, his youth drop kicked, but had the set moves, the bumps,
the ways that he could have the tables turned on him, unbelievably, they taught almost the,
rope tie, the Andre rope tie
where his arms tied up.
But he's just kind of
he's doing those things.
As a matter of fact, on YouTube with my headset on,
even with my bad hearing,
boy, their ring microphones are way too
fucking sensitive. At one point,
almost had put Ray down at his feet
and he looked at the referee and he said, ask him what he wants.
So the referee bent over and what,
what do you want him to do to you, Ray?
My God, damn it.
And another time
right early on the match,
or early in the match,
almost was going to throw Ray
like that throw him out of the ring
where he throws him head first like a satchel
and Ray slides out, but they botched it up
because it wasn't time or whatever.
And so Ray had to
fucking get back up and
write the ship.
and tell him what the fuck,
and then they started the spot,
and I almost said,
I go,
okay,
I got it.
I'm like,
what the fuck is going on here?
So,
you can't teach him being that big,
and they have certainly polished his performance,
and I'm sure he's a nice guy,
but he can't do anything,
can he?
You know,
what Will Osprey is to Tiger Mask,
almost is to
elegante
oh boy howdy
yeah
poor old Jorge
at least
you know
but nevertheless
it the match was in
slow motion
and Ray would do
you know kicks to the leg
or punches or just fly into him and bounce
off or whatever and
they taught him a bear hug
almost
and
I you know the pace was just glacial it was just slow and then ray kind of got to come back in
and almost got tied in the ropes the Andre spot and then Dominic interfered but Kaiser
as el grande Americano flew out and tackled him and they fought over the desk and
almost managed to shove the referee down so it missed him or missed him or missed
Ray hitting almost with a chair over the head.
And then the good spot, I like this spot,
Ray figured out a way to give him a 619 to the balls
and then to the back and then to the knee
and then finally the face. And the people were into it,
especially the payoff. Yeah, that was pretty good actually.
And then he, the 619 to the balls got me. I was like, wow, that's clever.
Well, yeah, he was breaking him down in stages where he would land
to a different place that he could finally, you know,
and then off the top with the big ass drop thing and off the top of the splash you got a two count
but then Dominic came back up and beat up Kaiser with a chair on the floor and Ray nailed Dominic
and turned around and ran into almost his boot and then a big choke slam one two three
so it almost reinstated it almost reinstated yeah because he had been suspended but
The only way that Dominic would agree to defend the title of the tababa blah
against Kaiser is if Ray fought almost,
and that's why almost, or Ray is now in a neck brace because of this vicious,
in like 10 or 12,
they got 10 or 12 minutes out of the match also,
which I was incredible.
But it was like watching a VHS tape in slow motion where it's,
the two-minute thing goes eight minutes,
but almost,
he did a body slam,
he did a bear hug,
he did the choke slam very carefully,
got tied into ropes.
He's got about as many moves as
Nash did,
but he doesn't have the personality
necessarily to carry off
making that much money
and getting that far over with only six moves.
I just was like,
ah,
Ah. All right. Well, we'll see. I am curious what star rating that will get.
But just to clarify, you did not. It was clearly put together. It was, you know, it made sense.
Everybody did their thing and everybody was, and even almost, like I said, he's improved except that he still can't do anything.
And just to confirm what you said earlier, you did not watch Docky.
Dominic Mysterio and Grande Americano.
I did not have to, that would have been a better match,
but it also, as I said, it was half an hour long
and with the variations in the YouTube,
giving you an ad every 14 seconds
because the WWE is money hungry.
I mean, we got to make a living too,
but it was ridiculous.
It would be like he'd pick a guy up for a slam
and go to a spot and come back
and he'd hit the mat and go to a spot.
I mean, they're just, they're just soaking us.
Lucha as a style is not really conducive to commercial advertising in the middle of the matches,
I wouldn't think.
No, it doesn't flow at all.
But it was a really good match.
It was a really, really good match.
And El Grande Americano, the new mega champion in AAA.
And that's the AAA.
Do they have a, do they have if they have a mega champion, like mega is like a megastore?
And so even bigger than a regular store.
have like a mini champion or a regular champion or a actually they used to have a minis champion
i don't know if they still uh do in triple a but there's no who's the regular champion if you
you got a champion of the minis and a champion of the megas but who's the regular guy i think they may
use mega in place of world i think mega is their uh champion oh when did she get off the legal
team over at uh all right tony con let's let's get away from there before uh before she runs out of
my dog. Now let's move on, Jim, from there to some other stuff.
Where's my dog? Oh, legal just ran off with it.
All right. Well, Jim, yes. Mexico City, a beautiful land, and WWE had more in store.
Let's talk about WWRWA. Well, I know we've already talked about this.
know when we talked about smackdown but jesus so they ran smackdown and then the second day of
triple mania and then raw and this crowd i believe i do's believe would be the biggest one of the
bunch of them what did we ever find out what capacity is for that building or how many people
were in attendance at raw was it was the same place right they had to be in a same place right they had to be in
same. They could have two buildings like that in the same fucking, even with 22 million people
in Mexico City. But this, I think, was the biggest crowd because it seemed like they didn't have
as much space at the end blocked off for the entranceway and the screens and the various
thing. But still, I'm just wondering if anybody even, even Thurston Howl over at wrestling
home economics
if how many
tickets did they sell in the
one city
in one week
and by the way
the capacity in that building is
22,300 according to
Wikimedia. Jesus Christ.
And according to Wessel ticks
who did not track these shows they had trouble
because they were not in America I guess or
I think they track Canadian shows too
Oh so so he's
racist against people in South America
what I said. That's not what I said. Let's get back to this number, Mr. Troublemaker.
W.W.E announced 49,017 over three days.
The only breakdown we have from that is WWE announced 12,651 for Smackdown.
So that would leave 37,000 for Triple Mania and or Raw in a, and, I mean, the 22,300 is
capacity, but even with any kind of entrance way, they'd probably lop off a couple of
thousand. So they pretty much sold out those other two, I would assume, for the
setups that they had. And also on this tour, WWRan house shows in Guadalajara, JAL, Arena,
Guadalaj, and Monterey Mexico at Arena Monterey. Yeah, that is it, Arena Monterey as part
of their Mexico live tour. So we don't have those numbers either, but
is in a middle they're they're large and they were in chile so i mean they're going all over the place
they're going from one place to another everywhere chilly today hot tamale you never know that was
an old mama cornet joke what's a weather report in mexico chili today and hot tamale when i was six
i'd go ha anyhow you know who's who's not a hot tamale right now he's as cold as a macaw
is none other than Ray Mysterio.
He's got a neck brace on.
He was crippled by that massive choke slam
where the giant man picked him up
and then set him down like he was putting his baby in a cradle.
And did you notice that I know they're in Mexico,
but because of that,
much of the promos, Brian, were in Spanish.
and I'm not being
anti-Hispanic because I don't
everything gets the French people either
but I don't speak French so I don't know what the fuck they were saying.
So the people every once while Ray would dribble in
Ray would dribble in a little English.
I think the Lucha brothers did their whole thing
in Spanish later on but point being
that's the problem with international origins
of American television programs is who do you,
do you try to appeal to the fans that are there in the arena
or do you try to not appeal to but speak to the fans in here at home?
Was that a question?
Yes, possibly.
I put a question mark on the end of the prattle that I made there,
so it sounded like one.
they guy if they get they how many people in Mexico speak English so conversely how many people
in the United States speak Spanish I know there's a bunch but still it's not like everybody
knows so how the fuck do you handle this type of thing with all these because that's what
they do this whole show is normally is live goddamn in ring monologues so which language
which ought they be speaking?
I mean, when they're,
they're worldwide now,
but most of their athletes are
English speaking, and they have a lot more
Spanish speaking people now,
and, you know,
that's the... I don't know what to, I don't know.
As a point, somebody's going to be
confused regardless.
But anyway,
then Ray pitched to the
VTR from Chile, where
live lost the title to Stephanie and it's good they're switching on TVs and house shows and
that that does make it unpredictable but again you know you don't want them to be just doing it
all the time from now on all at once uh but then ray brought stephanie out to the ring and as
they lost me there i just think she's as boring as oatmeal with no sugar and
she always looks a bit puzzled.
But it ended up that Liv and Dom came out and cut a promo on Ray and Stephanie.
And Dominic got to shit boot out of him here too.
He's,
I think he's probably a bigger deal now that he's worked there for a while,
even than he was when he was,
you know,
just on this program.
You know what I'm saying.
But Adam Pierce looked like Andre.
to all of them. Did you see that?
Well, yeah.
Stephanie's not as tall as lived.
I was surprised.
I was trying to judge her by the width of her ass, I guess,
instead of how far off the ground she was.
Anyway, then they pitched to another tape where Dominic lost the title to Kaiser,
and that was quite a popular thing that happened.
and of course dominic is challenging for a much just have a mixed tag right here right now and and ray is it a goddamn neck brace right but here comes grande americano out to take his place and everybody sang ole oh lay ole to kaiser and he promoted dominic in spanish and then adam pierce made it official in spanish
but I could understand officiali.
And by the way, Ludwig Kaiser speaks better Spanish
than the guys from Mexico, it seems like.
Well, that's because he had to study it on purpose.
Say anything about that.
They just kind of picked it up.
Yeah, I guess so.
Yeah.
Rolls on.
Oh, it did, didn't it?
Oh, well, that wasn't really, I said it's our main event,
but that's not really our main event because that's our match right now.
So they had a match and I zoned out, but suddenly J.D. McDonough and the girls,
Rochelle and Roxanne ran out and just got Dominic and lived disqualified.
And Dominic was jerking Ray around by his neck brace and they beat up the baby faces.
And my question, I guess, is,
Is Judgment Day the first time ever that there's been a heel group where there's more girls in it than guys?
Yeah, maybe, maybe.
Think about this.
Of all factions, as the kids say, in wrestling history, especially when old shit stain went crazy back in the 90s and had the nation and the DOA and the Bariquas and all that stuff.
but they've got J.D. McDonough and Dominic.
Not exactly the road warriors.
Rochelle is the biggest one physically of the bunch of them.
So how exactly are they going to fare
against some of these groups of these beefy individuals
like the 9-4-2s?
What is the number of them?
The 9-4-2s?
What are you talking?
The, what, their zip code, um, hoise, hoise, hoise, hoax, hoax, hoax, uh, the, the guys from
NXT, the, um, yes, what's their zip code? Not zip code, area code.
Zip code.
The 45, 462. That what a great faction that is.
They could have had their zip code and make it from the most dangerous part of the hood, but instead.
And they're plus four.
A, yes.
There's a joke for the male men out there.
Yes, because that way they know exactly where to deliver the hate mail quicker.
But anyway, they've got, in the Judgment Day, has a small young man, a thin young man, and three women in it.
So they're not exactly physically intimidated.
DX had two women.
If you count China and Shung.
Well, I'm not sure I'd count China.
anyway so then they had and I was going to watch this Brian I swear I was I was going to watch it
I was salivating over it I'd actually said to myself when I thought I was going to get this oh
this is something I'll watch because I skipped ahead to the next segment after the break
and it was a money in the bank qualifier match and I thought it was Austin theory against
Javon Evans.
And in suddenly they reminded me
that all these things are three ways
and here came Big Cass.
And so
my excitement for Javan versus theory
was muted to complete indifference
because Cass came out to dead silence
not only in the building but in my house
and I wrote
he's shit in every country
It's a universal language of I'm shit.
Just look at me.
I don't have to speak.
Don't respond to me.
Don't care about me.
I am caca.
There is no clean end of me for you to pick me up by.
It's universal round the world.
See, of all people could join together as one in a brotherhood
and unity of handholding to all of us just say,
big Cass is the shits
so I fast forwarded 10 minutes
exactly and when I did
theory was nowhere in the ring and I couldn't see
him and Javon Evans hit the cutter on Cass
one two three
and I wrote good
because fuck Cass
because he's the shits
what are your thoughts
why do you hate him so much you didn't even hate
him this much in AEW
because he's taking up in AEW
there's so much to go around but here
there's actual legitimate talent with a chance to prosper.
But he's seven feet tall.
You can't teach that.
Well, they taught almost how to be seven foot three.
So fuck Cass.
He's second best anyway.
If you're seven feet tall and you're still not the biggest son of a bitch
and the company is time to leave.
Who do you prefer, Baron Corbyn or Big Cass?
You know, actually Baron Corbyn.
Oh, come on now.
You hate him more than anyone.
How do you hate Big Cass?
much all of a sudden.
Because Baron Corbyn's all that Baron Corbyn is ever going to be.
That's all he is.
That's all he's ever going to be.
But Big Cass went away for eight years and couldn't come back with anything else.
Eight fucking years.
I would have, I'd have had goddamn some kind of surgery.
I'd have had something amputated just to make myself look different.
But no.
So it's, it's, it's all on him.
They've given Baron Corbin
14 million different fucking gimmicks.
He was sad Corbin and mad Corbin and rich Corbin and poor Corby.
Happy Corbyn.
I'm surprised they didn't make him Billy Corbin.
But so he's, you know, it's,
but Cass could have done something else
besides being big Cass or big Bill.
Well, you did hit on something before.
Javan versus Theory.
as a singles match I would like to see.
I would like to see that.
And I'd like them to give it time.
And actually, I would like to see that.
But Javon moves forward, winning this multi-man match
for a chance to go to the next multi-man match.
We're all rolls on.
Well, that Intercontinental Title match
where our friend, Mr. Gable,
contested with Dragon Lee.
And Gable won with an ankle lock.
and then they shook hands and hugged
because they were so proud of each other.
And I mentioned this only because while it was a wonderful match,
I don't care about Dragon Lee,
and I know it was a wonderful match for the giant crowd in Mexico City,
and so I have nothing wrong or bad to say about it.
I just didn't want to watch it.
But I don't remember, Brian, in the first 10 years that I was a wrestling fan,
ever seeing two guys that had just had a match
and then turn around and hug each other.
Maybe there was a stray handshake every now and then
after a scientific match between a couple of baby faces
in the middle of the card.
And Bill Dundee and Billy Robinson,
they fucking just tried to stretch the shit out of each other
for 30 or 40 minutes, and then they shook hands.
But nobody ever hugged.
Why does everybody have to hug now?
to try to get an extra pop.
I bet they'd pop if one of them dropped down on her knees and gobble the other one's dick,
but I don't know if I'd go that far.
I don't know if that'll get on YouTube.
I may have to be on a, well, paperview's gone.
You can't deny they'd pop.
I'm afraid that that's the direction wrestling is going in.
Everything's about the cheap pop and what you can sell merch off.
So you never know.
That could be the next Danhausen.
Is there going to be the deal
is whenever they book a big main event
for WrestleMania, the WrestleMania T-shirt
will have the two guys hugging each other?
Is one guy going to reach down and
surreptitiously grab a little ass cheek?
I remember the WrestleMania shirts
used to have the guys in profile
with angry looks facing each other,
so-and-so versus so-and-so.
Now it's going to be so-and-so,
hugged so-and-so,
the super southern squeeze.
I prefer just a regular old school
WrestleMania logo, but Jim, let's get back to Raw.
We still have the big main event.
Of course we do.
And that big main event was Pinta,
who won the tournament
to face Roman reigns for now.
What title was this?
This was their world championship, I think.
Yes?
The world heavyweight title or the WWE title.
now this is the this has got to be the world heavyweight title doesn't it be
got to do not do man doesn't it be uh roman rains is the current world heavyweight champion
there you go mama says it bees that way sometimes so penta came in with a giant headdress
looking like mill moscarus playing an aztec priest in a fucking 60s movie
and the lasers and the pyro,
and he took his time with this,
because he's over,
the hometown hero,
I think he hugged every fan individually
on the way to the ring.
It was like the fabulous ones
going through and feeling everybody up.
And when he got to the ring,
there was more pyro,
and they chanted Pinta,
and they sang,
O'le, O'Leo, Le, O'Leo, Le,
and it never,
ended and
the whole entrance was
six minutes at least two minutes of it had
to be the singing and the chanting and the cheer
so he was
definitely over and you got the
they may have done a good job
lately
with making people think
well fuck the the title
might change hands because it just did
Friday night same building
and it did in Chile
and so you could almost forgive these people
for believing in the unbelievable
and thinking, well, he might do this
because they might do it for a sell 50,000 tickets
in one city, any wrestling promoter in history
would have put the fucking belt on the fucking mayor.
So anyway, then here came Roman
and at least he got booed here.
Mexico gets it.
a heal people.
We don't,
why cheer him when he's a
slow moving dick,
a pompous self-important
asshole who
tries to dictate his
will upon all others
for heaven's sake.
And he walked to the ring in slow motion
and took four minutes, but there was no
chair in the milk.
And then the introductions were two minutes
and then there went to a two and a half minute
break.
So by the time we got started with this thing
And the bell rang
It was 15 minutes from the time the first entrance started
So we saw two guys walk to the ring
Be introduced at a commercial break in 15 fucking minutes
Are you sensing where I'm going with this Brian?
I think so
But everyone wants to hear your review
It was a hot match, hot crowd
It was a hot crowd
The match was a hot crowd
The match was
to me, tepid at best.
It would, because it was, the people,
this was the definition of,
of having a hometown hero
that the people would love to see
win the world championship, home country hero.
But,
but it was a Roman Raines fucking match
and a W.W.E. production.
And so between the milking and the walking
and the pacing, I wrote Roman Raines works
at the pace of melting ice cream.
Don't forget the speech.
This time he got on the mic in the middle of the back.
He got the microphone and it wasn't an I-quit match.
It was, no, it's a world title match
in front of 15,000 or 20,000 people
or how many we don't fucking know the exact number.
And he's got time to get on a microphone.
It's the fans went crazy for everything that Pinta did,
as they should.
Like, he's the hero, right?
much of it is to me a little blah but they love it it's fine
Roman rains was the issue but then they they went after this 15 minutes to get
them in this fucking thing the match lasted went three and a half minutes they go to a break
for three minutes so now after we're past 20 minutes into this thing and we've had as much
more commercial we've had twice as much commercial time
at this point is we've had goddamn
match. Then Roman is already getting heat on Penta. And again, I wrote the Pace is glacial.
And Penta hit a couple of things for a two count. I wrote slowest match ever. Where is it that, again,
that people think that territory wrestling was the main events or the grudge matches or whatever.
I'm not talking about preliminaries. But they think.
the big matches were 15-minute headlocks.
Do you remember ever seeing a main event
from a major territory
in the 1980s
that was this fucking slow, Brian?
I mean, there were some WWF
national expansion shows with
slow-reli events, but it was a different...
Outside the WWF.
Not that I'm aware of.
All right.
So then they went to break after they'd been back for four minutes.
They went to break again for two minutes.
And when they came back, Roman was walking slowly.
And Roman went for the Superman punch, but Pinta drop-kick him.
Roman, he went for the Canadian destroyer on Roman,
and Roman backdropped him on the apron of the ring,
which looked, could have been a little dodgy for Pinta there.
if he had just gone a little bit farther.
Power bombed him through the desk,
but then Penta hit his finish,
got a two-count,
Roman hit a Superman punch, got a two-count,
Pinta hit the Mexican destroyer,
and Roman just popped right up to his feet and speared him.
He got a two-count.
I'm like, what the, and then that's when Roman got the microphone.
after he'd already been hit by fucking the guy's fucking big finish, the big finale.
He popped up and speared him, got a two count, and then called for the microphone so he could speechify.
And he walked around and told the fans to acknowledge him.
But then Penta foiled his spear and hit a kick and a Mexican destroyer got a two counts.
That's twice his finish.
once he didn't sell it, once he had a two count.
Then they both sold forever, and then I did a yay boo.
And bless Penta, he beat up Roman a little bit,
hit him with three super kicks,
went for a springboard, and Roman Superman punched him and speared him,
one, two, three.
But the fans loved it until the finish.
And over the last couple minutes, at least they,
they began moving.
but it's not even
you know a Penta with anybody else might move too fast
but good Lord
Roman has gotten
it's a performance
it's a wonderful performance of a very slow moving
play
yeah with a lot of predictability
and the key to modern wrestling is you give them a hot
you know last three or four minutes kicking out of everything
and that's all that counts
and the last few minutes here
were really hot.
But yeah, Roman's a performer.
He's a performance wrestler.
He's not getting the movie roles he wants,
so this is the role he has to do.
With that said, this was maybe
the most he's done in a match against anyone,
because obviously doing stuff with Pentas
different than working with Punk or Rollins.
Hey, I'll tell you what,
when he let this guy give him that finish
where he picks the guy up and turns him
folds him up like a pocket knife and drops him on his hopefully shoulders.
I was like,
that's a lot of trust there for a guy worth this.
Because remember we talked about this during one of those injury bugs going around
where punk was hurt or this guy was hurt or that guy was hurt?
I said,
it's gotten to the point now with this,
the financial scale and world that they're in,
that when you pick a guy up,
how you put him down may depend
on a difference of 20 or 30 million dollars
gross for the fucking company for the next several months.
So it's, you know,
you never wanted to hurt anybody,
but you didn't used to be fucking scared
that you'd goddamn starve everybody
and bankrupt the promotion
when you gave somebody a pile driver a little snug.
Just a thought.
Well, again, a happy Mexican fan base for WWE, a successful tour.
And that was WWRWA.
And Jim, some people thought that main event was good.
Some people thought maybe Roman Raines is just ultra-focused on what he's doing.
That's why, like a Greg Valentine match, everything builds, it starts very slow,
and eventually things start happening, and then, of course, you get your speech.
usually there's no mic this time he decided he wanted to be amplified
Jim ultra pouches is something I like when editing let's talk about that somehow
let's talk about the literal word salad that you just
evacuated out here all over the place ultra pouches is a thing that we're going to
talk about here because you know what I say that Roman rains needs more focus
I say that he's just delirious that he's just delirious that he's
just he don't know where he is he doesn't know whether to wind his ass or scratch his watch and
that's why he's wandering around because he's trying to think and he can't focus if he was using
the ultra pouches then he would have that calm focus that enhanced memory that smooth energy that
mood balance it would be just bang bang bang bang bang bang he'd be going from one thing to another
because he would be focused enough and concentrated in enough to know exactly what to do and to take
action instead of being an indecisive little weasel.
So therefore, that's why I say he needs to focus in on either the cool mint,
the winter green, the tropical, the watermelon, or even the blue rasp.
Ultra pouches which help you with your focus and your clarity,
they have ingredients for cleaner, smoother, smoother, energy boosting, calmer, energy,
in attentiveness, enhanced mental processing and balanced energy and mood, while not having all
the nicotine and the caffeine so that you got the shakes and the hebi-jeebies and, well,
it'll just rot your fucking guts from the inside out. And you know, when you rot your guts
from the inside out, the guts you've got on the inside are actually the best ones you've got.
If you rot them first, well, it's all downhill from here. You remember old Chad,
Chad had had his guts hanging out of his side.
Right about his ribcage there,
he had a spleen and a kidney you could see plainest day.
You don't remember him.
I went to sixth grade with him.
He was one of the special kids from the telethon,
the spleen telethon.
But folks, you don't want to harm your spleen with nicotine or caffeine.
That's why you stay away from that shit.
You get into the ultra pouches.
Now you take one or two of these.
Brian, and you do the editing, as I know you do, but if you take three or four of them,
you can begin to read people's minds. Actually, it's not so much of a reading of the mind as you
can hear people's thoughts. So if you take four of these, and it's not recommended, because it could
kill you also. But it will also, on your way out, you will be able to hear people thinking.
So when you're looking at somebody, try to make sure you realize whether their lips are moving or not
before you respond to them, because you may just hear what they're thinking.
That's happened to me all the time at the grocery.
That doesn't happen according to...
You wouldn't believe some of these old women.
They're fucking filthy.
They're filthy, these old women at the grocery store,
especially good heavens in the meat section.
All right, well, let's get back to...
And around the cucumbers, you wouldn't...
I'm telling you.
Let's get back here to this section.
Yes.
Of course, funny games and jokes and skits aside.
something that will help you with your focus.
I like to use it when editing.
You won't see or hear or have x-ray vision
beyond your normal capabilities,
but I like it and you may...
No, not through lead.
Jim, I understand we have a great deal for the listeners.
Yes, we do, as a matter of fact.
And, you know, since we don't have video now,
you can't really tell whether you're reading my thoughts
or just, you know, I'm speaking to you,
but either way it's the same information.
because Ultra is the ultimate guilt-free pouch
that delivers instant focus and mental clarity
without the nicotine or caffeine
and new customers right now
can go to take ultra.com.
That's take ultra.com and use the promo code JCE.
You're going to get 15% off.
15% off of these deliciously five flavored powder.
I don't have five flavors on each.
They have five flavors on each.
They have five different flavors is what they have.
And you can have any of them you want if you go to take ultra.com
and use the promo code JCE.
You're going to get 15% off.
Blue Razz, watermelon, tropical, winter green, and cool mint.
Once again, I like them.
And we think you will too.
Ultra pouches.
I've been taking them for a while now.
And as a matter of fact,
I know what you're thinking.
You're good.
I know what you're thinking.
thinking. Shame on you.
I'm thinking you enjoy the taste and the focus.
And that's what we're going to focus on one more time.
Take Ultra.com.
Promocode JCE.
I can hear you.
Ultra!
And with that, without any delay,
we'll be right back after this commercial timeout.
We are back.
Good Lord.
Uh, Jim, want to get your,
thoughts on some news that broke over the last day. It's, I guess, still technically in the
rumor stage, but people are running with it, people who would know. Sean Ross Sapp of
Fightful reported that Ilya Dragonoff is set to join AEW. Obviously, the name Dragonoff won't
be used, but Ilya is his first name. What are your thoughts on Ilia? Do you think they'll
They'll turn him into Ilya Jackanov.
I don't think so, but that may be what happens.
Who knows?
That may be what happens, even if it's not the intention.
You know, I love the kid.
I don't know how old he is, but he's a kid to me.
We've praised him before.
He was different.
He was unique.
He not only a beast athletically, even though he was of diminutive size,
but also had that just unique personality.
and I saw some people said,
well, his facials are over the top.
For him, it worked.
That's one of those things.
It wasn't, it seemed organic.
He just seems to be a little gremlin, right?
It's just a Tasmanian devil.
I loved him and Gunther.
I wish we'd have seen more of that.
You know, I'd like to be excited for him,
but I'm just wondering, how is this guy who was so serious
and worked so hard and,
what an underdog baby face type.
How is he going to translate to the, you know,
his size is not unique there.
It's the land of Lilliput.
But the question is,
can anybody work with him to expose his advantages
and not him just be doing your floor exercises with the rest of him?
Well, that's kind of where the story took over or took off
who he's going to work with.
and the excitement amongst fans about who in AEW
you may see them in the ring with
perhaps John Moxley or Will Osprey
there's lots of options unfortunately it'll probably be
Orange Cassidy by week three
but Kyle Fletcher
after this news came out posted on Twitter
I
J
AEW I don't know what the J is
maybe I'm missing something there
But did you see that? Did you see Kyle Fletcher?
No, I wouldn't have understood it if I had seen it.
I'm not really following Kyle closely on social media, but what did, I love J-A-E-W.
What does that mean?
I don't know, but a fan, I presume, named Colin on Twitter responded in a quote tweet,
See? This right here is what's sad.
AEW has an entire roster of men and women
that the talent can be gassing up,
but they choose the froth at the mouth
over the newest WWE departure instead.
We had MJF tweeting about the new day,
now Kyle Fletcher is tweeting about Ilya Draganov.
To which Kyle Fletcher responded,
oh fuck off Colin
To which Colin
To which Colin responded
Oh fuck off you little nanny
Am I wrong
I'm sure the tweets about Seamus will go out next
Then Kyrie Sane
Then whoever else leaves WWE next year
To which Kyle Fletcher responded
He's a proto star
So what
I love professional wrestling
And I'm excited at the prospect of wrestling
one of my friends I haven't seen in years.
Someone who has been
underappreciated for years.
We'll finally have the chance
to spread his wings
and create the professional wrestling
he loves.
Spread your tiny wings and fly away.
Let people be excited
and live with a childlike sense of
wonder without feeling the need to poo-poo
all over it, Colin.
So let me stop there at this point
in the exchange. Any thoughts on
Kyle Fletcher getting into it about this or
Well, I'll forgive him for saying the childlike sense of wonder because he's only, what, fucking 12 years removed from having one himself.
But poo-poo? Don't poo-poo it?
Don't shit all over it.
But no, he's right.
Here's the Elya, and I guess the J-A-E-W is a reference to Elya that we don't get because this is all the inside underground fan type of thing.
but eilia is not your normal wwe wrestler
and he obviously didn't start at the performance center
he wrestled in his native lands before and i'm sure he knows cow there
from those independent travels in foreign lands
was pointed yes ilia fits in terms of a
a more in-ring-centric wrestling promotion
with younger guys and probably a faster pace of work.
The only problem is, is I just question
whether anybody else is serious enough
or accomplished enough to hang with him doing that type of thing.
But Kyle would be one of possibly the short list
if they don't, again, go so far
that they think they're a video game
instead of trying to have a hard
competitive wrestling match,
he's got a point.
They'd probably be very good.
So I don't see, but it's not like
to what was the guy
that, the guy that tweeted Colin,
whoever, oh, fuck off, Colin.
It's not like he's praising Seamus
who would come in and be a big
pondering dip shit like he was
the other company.
He's not just promoing the average or stereotypical WW wrestler.
He's talking about a guy that he knows that doesn't really fit that mold.
So I'd cut him some slack on this.
But beyond Dragonoff and, you know, accepting the idea that KFabe is dead and these guys just flip onto it every single day,
do you want your wrestlers on Twitter?
You know, it went from, I'm looking forward to wrestling him to, he's my friend and I want him to create his own personal.
pro wrestling magic or whatever to
fuck he said there. Yes, well, I mean,
they're all still in high school
and fucking in drama class.
So that's just a given these days.
That's why we're in a state that we're in.
No, I don't agree with any of that.
But the point, if he should be making it in public,
the point that he's making is pretty fucking good.
And then Jim Collin jump back into the fray.
Oh, good Lord.
He's one of those, eh?
He's one of those, whatever that may be.
And then Colin jumped back into the Frey, Jim.
A couple images, an image from, I guess it appears to be Instagram, MJF's account,
where he posted, It's a New Day.
Yes, it is.
And then also from MJF's Twitter, I would assume, or maybe his Instagram.
Bring that smoke, O'Shaughnessy, which was Seamus's previous name.
So there's two examples of MJF who,
you know what, times appears to turn it to a fanboy or whatever you want to say.
I was but say now, Colin may have to take some things up with MJF, but that doesn't mean that he
made a point on Kyle.
Well, here's what Colin wrote.
My original post wasn't directed at you, only.
Rather at how nobody in AEW gets all this attention.
But a bunch of AEW talents's ears perk up as soon as someone leaves WW.
It happens all the time.
it just makes AEW look like WWE's little bro.
To which Kyle Fletcher responded,
What do you mean no one in AEW gets all this attention?
You do realize that's objectively wrong.
Like we don't do multiple shows every week on television,
and hundreds of social media posts,
and drew more than 45,000 fans two weeks ago?
To which Colin,
responded, AEDW has talent like Megan Bain and Bobby Lashley, just to name a couple,
who are heavy hitters.
Now see, he's already here, Collins 50-50 with me on those two names already, so
come see, come see, come see.
Who are heavy hitters, and none of them get the attention that the newest WWE
departure gets.
Ilya Draganoff will be awesome in AEW, no doubt about it.
I'd just like to see the men and women that have been in AEW for a while get all this love.
MJF literally said in a promo,
Tony Khan brings in the newest ex-WWE
guy. AEW should be all elite wrestling,
not all ex-WE.
Any final thoughts on Colin there?
Well, again, yeah, they're just nattering to natter at that point.
I think Kyle came back with those statistics,
which as Mama Cornett might have said,
you're protesting too much.
It's under your skin like this,
but at the same time,
the other guy's one of those people
that ain't going to let it go,
so you get what you get.
But I, again,
I don't see besides the obvious issue
of everybody's friends,
that's why they're always mentioning
even MJF.
Those guys are probably his friends.
And so, you know,
he's had,
happy to have his friends come where everybody has friends.
And they're not tweeting as much about the people in AEW
because they already know that they have those friends there.
It's not like, oh, I've missed Tommy so much when he moved to that other school.
Well, one final tweet here from Kyle Fletcher.
Thanks for the fun, Colin.
But now I know you're either an idiot or choosing to act like one for engagement.
In either case, have a nice life.
Blocked.
All right.
But you know what?
See, here's the thing.
I've never known this.
Maybe you can tell me this, Brian, and we'll move along.
If I want to tell somebody off and then block them,
I was always afraid that if I wrote them, you know,
fuck you, blow me, blow me, fuck you.
And then sent that and then blocked them that they wouldn't see the message
that I'd written to blow me, blow me, fuck you.
So I send the blomby, blow me, fuck you.
So I send the blomby, bloody, fuck you,
and then I go back if I remember and block them later
after they've had time to look at it.
But am I just taking an extra step there?
Or does it count as long as I don't block them till after I've sent the message?
I think the way you're doing it is the way Twitter used to be.
The way it works now, I think even if you block them,
they could see it.
It's just they can't interact with it or anything.
Also, they're just muzzled.
Yeah.
They can't respond.
I think so, yeah.
That's why the fucking crime rates are going up because people are being driven to violence because they can't respond on Twitter.
Well, we will stay on top of this story.
Ilya Draganoff coming to AW and Kyle Fletcher and his big feud with Colin.
Not our Colin, his own Colin.
Colin!
Jim, as we move on here with the show, I want to ask you about some breaking news as we are recording.
Any thoughts on the news of the passing of Bob Mackie at the age of 87?
I was not aware of this.
I didn't know.
Well, apparently he broke and then they reported it.
Bob Mackie, can you imagine how often he got to look at the fine form of share up close and personal in the 70s?
If that didn't kill him, no wonder he lived to be almost 90.
Well, I have a quote here from a New York Times article talking about share,
Bob Mackey noted that she was built just like Miss Burnett,
a perfect size six with no cleavage, a human clotheshanger.
So it sounds like he had a pretty easy job.
I don't know if I would say that Cher was built like Carol Burnett.
What the, no.
I never felt the same way about Carol Burnett as I felt about Share in 1974.
I think, no.
Were you a, well, he, of course, was the costume designer for the Carol Burnett show for a number of years,
but speaking of Share, Sunny and Cher, then just Share, did you watch those shows?
Yes.
I, he had the, Sunny and Share, and then the, I didn't watch Sunny's solo show, but I watched
Scher's solo show.
Say that, Sunny and Cher both had solo shows, but Sunny's show was solo in more ways than one.
There was only one rating.
That was one person was watching.
watching that show.
Does everybody watch Share for obvious reasons?
I hated Sonny,
because he was standing next to Share.
What'd you think in general of the old variety show
that's kind of gone away completely,
and it wasn't just that one,
but various other acts from the Brady Bunch on down
had shows that went for years
or shows that went for weeks?
What do you think of the variety show?
Well, it was the same thing as the Battle Royal in wrestling, Brian.
It was overdone and then prostituted
and watered down
when you had people that knew how to host variety shows
and you had variety show performers
that could perform on the variety shows,
Milton Burrell's Texaco Star Theater for heaven's sake,
or Carol Burnett, or Jackie Gleason on Saturday nights,
or what, those were great variety shows.
But then you had the Starland Vocal Band
got a summer replacement variety show.
And so did she.
Fields and Yarnel, by the way, I believe, at one point.
I didn't know that.
I think they got six episodes.
The Jackson's, right?
They had a variety show.
Yeah, but they should have just put them on for the whole hour.
They shouldn't have been hosts.
It was a poor use of Michael's time and talents.
But no, we used to get to watch the plate spinning
and the fucking acrobatic dog and the goddamn seal that could count to 14
and all that cool shit.
And that's all gone away because there is no variety in entertainment anymore.
What did you think of Battle of the Network stars?
I loved it because so many of the fucking female stars did not wear sports bras.
Especially during the water events.
So this is all right about 75, 76.
I was noticing these things.
Let's keep going.
What do you think of Linda Carter, Wonder Woman?
You know what?
no, she was too perfect.
What?
Too perfect, too perfect and no personality.
I want it a little more fucking personality.
One of the greatest physiques on a woman.
Exactly, too perfect.
It's unattainable.
Too perfect.
And she looked like she would fucking actually question
if you attempted to make her do,
I don't know, acts you may have seen in some German video.
All right.
Well, they didn't really distribute those back,
been in the 70s. I think we're free of this conversation. Jim Charlie's Angels. Who's your
favorite angel? My favorite angel would have would have been Farah just because she didn't
wear out her welcome. She was there. She showed nipples. She fucking sold a poster and she was gone.
All right. No love for Jacqueline Smith. Surprised here. Jim, Three's company. What'd you think of
three's company? Actually, I think my favorite one was fucking John Ritter out of the
the whole bunch of them.
Didn't care for Joyce DeWitt and Suzanne
Summers was a poor, poor girls Farah Fawcett.
You really? I think Suzanne Summers was actually pretty
amazing in that role.
They should have got Carol Wayne.
All right. I don't know where else we can go from here, Jim.
I'm trying to think of other TV shows with women I could ask you about.
Jim, what about Maud? What do you think of Maud?
Well, and then there's Maud.
Sooner later, you're going to get in trouble here.
I like the first season
when the theme song was six minutes long.
What did you think of the episode where Adrian Barbeau was out there dancing?
Remember that episode?
The clips always go around and you always see it.
You know, I told you I got an autographed picture of her right now.
Yeah, Miss wrestling.
One of the fans sent it to me because they saw her at a comic con or whatever,
but she was miss wrestling.
Yeah, Miss wrestling.
Yeah, Miss Wrestling.
Adrian Barba. She was good in the fog, too.
Have you seen John Carpenter lately?
I have not.
How fucking old is he?
I can't believe they were married.
He looks like an 87-year-old zombie now.
Just, I mean, just erosion has set in.
The fact that they were married, do you think she ever said anything to Piper?
When they lived was happening about like, oh, yeah, I used to know Roy Shire,
that fucking dirty old pussy shit.
Spinning on the floor and calling me a whore, just awful, man.
I wonder.
I don't know how much time they spent together.
All right, well, once again, we send our sympathies to the friends and fans of Bob Mackey,
but we thank him for this great segment here.
Jim, as we move on here with the show, not a surprise.
Let's talk about the biggest wrestling promotion going today, the most popular one, it seems.
Rick Flair's Twitter, there's a tweet going
around, tweet going around
he put it out and everyone sent it to us.
Apparently a rumor went around earlier this week.
Somebody stop him, stop him, stop him, stop him.
Rumor went around earlier this week that Rick Flair was returning to
WWE. There was a quote attached to it that
he had talked to Hunter, they were good, he was going to be at the Royal
Rumble, and then it turns at the quote in question
maybe from a
2003 interview.
Wait a bit, wait of it.
I was because the Royal Rumbles in January.
This is still September.
That would be a slow developing
fucking reunion,
but now it's from years ago
this interview was, is what you're saying.
I want to say I read that it was on the Booker T podcast,
but I'm not certain,
but it was an older interview they repurposed
for whatever reason and
some wrestling news aggregator took it and ran with it
and other people said,
oh shit, this is.
a story. Let's run with it. And it turns out
it was an old interview, but Rick
Flair had a response.
Here's his tweet, September
13th, 1019
a.m.
I'm seeing all the
rumors online about me
being back with WWE.
Number one,
it is disrespectful.
Number two,
it's not true.
I have always been friends.
Wouldn't that? Wouldn't that
been number one? Shouldn't it have been number one, the veracity or lack thereof of the claim,
and then number two, the effect that it has on the psyches of those who have heard it?
Yeah, Jim, when you see something false written about you online as your first comment,
you know, that's disrespectful.
Yeah.
That racist monkey was of age. I don't know where they're getting this stuff from.
I have always been friends with Hunter.
Nothing has changed with our friendship.
We both have mutual respect for each other.
My daughter Charlotte works for WWE, and I cheer her on in the company.
I am unable to work for WW because I work for AEW and TonyCon.
I am very loyal to him as he allows me the freedom to pursue all of my business ventures
and opportunities
like Flair spirits
all of my signings
Wu Energy
and NASCAR
NASCAR
What does he have to do with NASCAR
Tony and I are personal friends
And he grew up watching me
I would never ever disrespect him
Please stop with the online rumors
I am happy where I am in my life
And attaches a photo of
Rick Flair and Sting with Tony Kahn in the middle.
The monkey in the middle.
Well, first off, if he works for Tony Kahn, what does he do for Tony?
I know Tony gives him opportunity to do all of his outside projects.
Does he do any inside projects?
When is the last time that Rick Flair did anything for AEW?
I don't remember.
Tony may be said, yes, go do more outside.
What?
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, obviously all these different ventures here, Wu Energy, Flair Spir.
Woo Wings!
What, where is Wu?
Type in Wu Wings.
What is the current status of Wu Wings?
How many O's?
Let's see.
Let's give us a shot.
I would say at least two, maybe three.
Woo Wings.
Here's the official Twitter page.
They haven't posted in four years.
Oh, has it been that long?
It can't be that long.
I guess it has been 2022.
They don't have an official website, apparently.
Can you get a Wu Wing anywhere anymore?
Woo wings, it apparently, is this a real value?
Woo?
Oh no, this is Wu's wings.
W-O-O-O-A-postrophe-S.
These are the wings that are the property of Wu, not
Property of Mr. Wu.
Not Wu's, not Wings.
Woo-Wing.
We've put Woo-Wings.
You can get a Woo's wing.
but not a woo wing.
Well, hold on.
If I go to the website,
Rickflarewings.com,
this site can't be reached.
Uh-oh.
Yeah, the Wu-Wing's site is down.
Uh, they still have the Rickflare logo up.
Wu-Wings, legendary flavors,
world championship wings now open.
For info on becoming a restaurant partner,
info at Rickflarewings.com.
Rickflairwings.com appears to be down.
Cannot be reached for comment.
So that's, uh,
what about his marijuana?
Well, he's suing them, right?
There's a lawsuit there with the marijuana.
I think, is he, yeah.
Was he suing them?
No, the spirits is good.
So the boo, he's not suing the booze.
He's suing the booze.
He's suing the booze.
I think Rick, does anyone who should sue the booze?
It may be Rick Flare.
It might be Rick Flair.
It's like suing the tobacco companies.
Like, the time has come.
I'm suing the booze.
It's like that's, that's Seinfeld episode, when,
when Kramer was going to
the tobacco company. Just look at this man.
Right there, the jury can just look at this man.
I'm on Rick Flair's Twitter page looking for anything about the NASCAR Association.
There's a retweet from Garage 66 and MBM Motorsports.
New Garage 6 die cast drop as we gear up for the Bristol Night Race.
Get your Rick Flair Flair Spirits diecast reserve today.
and I think it's like a little toy car
with like the Rick Flair
it's Rick Flair on the hood of the car
holding a bottle of vodka
Oh my God
saying woo
So yeah I actually I may have to order one of these
Let me go to the fucking page
You got a sale
You got a sale look at that
What is what is mothers against
drunk driving have to say
about the toy car with Rick Flair
Holded a bottle of hooch on the hood
Here's a picture of three
three Rolexes in a case for one Rolex, but he put the other two next to it, trying to figure out
which one I'm wearing to the party tonight at Woodbridge Brewing Coe in New Jersey.
So apparently he's hanging on Jersey a little bit.
Do you know I've never had three watches at the same time in my life?
Most people probably have not had two watches at the same time in their life.
I have right now
I have a San Jose Sharks
watch with a Velcro
band that one of the fans sent
because they knew Stace was a fan
and
and that's what I've been wearing
for the last six or eight years now
Hey one final tweet here
because it's a throwback to a name mentioned previously
Uh oh
See you tomorrow at the Wisconsin card show in Milwaukee
I'll be signing autographs
and taking photos
brought to you by Steve Solomon Sports Group
Woo!
That was the man who wanted to pay for the
Gold robe. We didn't talk about this. Apparently the gold robe was the robe
on the WWE TV show that he's... Either he sold it or they traded it.
I forget exactly.
Oh, no.
That WWE has in their warehouse.
The one he was going to track down who had stolen?
I had about 15 people get in touch with us to say, that's the one on the TV show.
And I remember the TV show. We watched it on A&E.
that was when Top Dollar was like shaking down the historians for their shit.
That was a weird concept for a show there, actually.
Not that I think about it, but yeah.
If you remember, the whole episode was about Rick Flares Robs,
about the trading of Rick Flares Robs, the losing of Rick Fries.
Well, wait a minute.
Was that the one that little Natch had, Charles Robinson?
I think it may have been.
Well, if that's the case, the Rick's the one that gave it to him.
And then was there one...
He's been friends with Charles Robinson for 30 years.
Now, did he know when he was doing all that?
Was he accusing WWE of stealing the robe?
And he's like, I know you are.
You have it.
You'll hear from my lawyer in Boston.
I don't know.
But if that's,
somebody's got to do with more time on their hands than we'd have,
has to do this research on was he trying to find the gold robe
that was actually the robe on television that they got from,
I swear they got that from Charles Robinson, right?
Because he was heartbroken.
They said they were going to take it away from him,
but they were just going to make it an exhibit or something.
I dare.
Yeah, by the way, Jim, I'm going to look up the Charles Robinson thing,
but here's a follow-up.
It's race week.
I'll do it in Flair.
It's race week for Josh Belicki and the Flare Spare spirits race car.
LFG.
Woo!
So apparently he, this Josh,
Balicki is a Wisconsin
NASCAR driver. Racer
of anything with a motor is what his
bio says, and that's the driver
of the Rick Flair's spirits.
In that case, I wonder if he'd like to hop on
and take my electric shaver for a spin.
Should Rick Flair be involved
with WWE right now?
Well,
I don't.
They may be the only ones he's not involved with
in the entire world, not just wrestling.
I guess
the NASCAR
could tie in, as you said,
somebody has a Rick Flair
Spirits race car, and
I guess these people are paying him for
name likeness and
and or endorsement on occasion,
but I don't know.
If I was Rick, I wouldn't want to be under contract
to the WW now because there's so much higher
profile than AEW.
you, Rick could imagine this.
I know it's crazy, but just humor me.
Take this ride with me.
Rick could say something controversial at a public place
and get canned by the WWE.
And if he was signed with the WWE,
have to give up all this outside stuff.
Now that may be a good thing,
considering as many of these outside people
that he sued because they've conned him or mismanaged him
or done whatever.
He's had multiple people representing him.
Remember when he had the women from South Carolina
representing him as the agents?
And then, oh, yeah.
He had to fallout with them
and Custis one woman on Twitter.
I don't know.
There should be one trusted person
doing Rick Flair's deals.
And I don't think there is.
So as long as he's with Tony,
he can do all this stuff and make all the money,
whereas he wouldn't be able to do everything he wants
if he was with WWE,
and WWE could cut him,
and then he'd be, as Mama Cornett used to say,
up shit creek without a paddle.
So it's probably better that he's,
at least he knows he's got a check coming from Tony.
Tony never fires anybody for anything.
And since he doesn't do any work there,
there's really no way for him to get any heat.
Quick follow-up for you.
Apparently, that's not the robe that Charles Robinson had.
The robe Charles Robinson had, you may remember.
It's hard to describe.
It's kind of green with pinkish feathers and there's like a lion at the bottom.
Oh, the lion.
Yeah, the lion.
The African jungle robe thing.
Right.
So Charles Robinson, that was the robe that he traded to WWE.
And that was, when was that?
That was several years ago, but
what I'm seeing here
is apparently Rick Flair got it back, I guess, from
WWE, and it was on an auction site for $65,000
two years ago,
but I don't know what the status of this is.
How does that work?
W.W.E traded a robe to Charles Robinson
to get the robe that Flair gave him,
and somehow Flair got it back and it was being sold?
I don't know.
I guess.
Yeah, there's a lot of questions we need answers to, but...
That's the Rick Flair Twitter update.
Like I said, the most popular promotion in wrestling today.
But Jim...
Yes.
If I had asked you at the beginning of the week to pick, yes or no,
will Rick Flair issue another tweet that will be sent to us by dozens and dozens of people?
You probably wouldn't have known the answer.
and perhaps if you were in the football, you may think you know the answer.
Perhaps whatever sport it may be, you think you know the answer, you think you have the
pick to win those prizes.
There it is on the T prize picks.
Thank you very much with a wonderful command of the English language.
You have pitched it to me.
Folks, if you're pitching, if you're pitching a football around,
or you're trying to score some baseball touchdowns or
whatever it is you want to do this time of year,
if you know your sports,
you can make some money by playing the daily fantasy game.
A lot of these athletes have daily fantasies.
I used to have daily fantasies.
But now since I've gotten older,
I try to only have them about two or three times a week.
But nevertheless, prize picks are our friends
if you'd like to go to Fantasyland.
And all you've got to do is just pick more or less on some things.
like will Rick Flair tweet things more than three times this week that will create confusion or less, things like that.
And then you're going to win money and glorious prizes and all kinds of goodwill from the community.
You know, people, when you're a prize picks master, when you have studied and learned the art of prize picks, people will come from all over the neighborhood, Brian, and just patch you on to buy.
and say, hell of a pick there, Paul, or you really got a prize there, pal?
Things like that is what they say.
Have they said that to you, Brian, in your neighborhood?
Nobody speaks to you there, do they?
Well, we speak, but we don't necessarily talk about these things.
And my name is not Paul, so it doesn't really work.
Well, I thought, you know, every once in a while, they nod at you, but they had quit the
verbal communication because of the restraining orders.
But nevertheless, folks, prize picks is bringing.
out their best offer yet because football is back.
New users, use users, these two Utes,
new users that sign up will get $150 in lineups
if you win your first $5 lineup.
That is right, that's correct.
I know your brain is shocked, your mind is blown.
If you win your first $5 lineup,
you're going to get $150.
That is like one of these Las Vegas casino slot machines
just pouring silver dollars out over the top of you.
About 150, you're going to be black and blue.
You're going to be laying there under 150 ounces of silver
that's probably going to crush you
and your windpipe and your larynx and your vertebrae.
Well, this way it's easier.
The $150 will not come out of your computer screen in silver.
It'll show up in your account.
And that way it can't crush you to death.
However, then if your wife takes it to the bank, cashes it in, gets the silver dollars, puts them in a sock, and hits you over the head, you're going to have trouble.
There's an epidemic of that going on.
I understand.
Down in, well, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, a lot of silver dollar sock-filled brain damage going on.
We were talking about prize picks, weren't we, Brian?
Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about, and we certainly don't know any of that, but back to prize picks.
Well, that's what I was going to say.
Price Picks invented the injury reboot.
If a player in your lineup gets injured in the first half and doesn't return,
your lineup can still cash as long as they're hit over the head with a sock with silver dollars in it.
There's metaphorically, metaphorically and non-existently.
Well, and in fantasy land, that's what we're doing.
We're having a daily fantasy.
Well, my fantasy is somebody getting hit over the head with a sock filled with
over dollars.
Price picks also has an improved search functionality.
That means you can track people down even easier now,
even if they don't want to be found.
And live box scores,
and any score that comes out of a box is over
to track your picks without having to leave the app.
You will never leave this app.
You can check out anytime you like,
but you will never leave.
And folks, right now, all you've got to do to get started,
just like AI is now starting on,
destroying humanity, you can get started on prize picks.
Download the app today before it can kill you in your family.
And use the code JCE to get $150 instantly in lineups when you win your first $5 lineup.
I cannot stress this enough.
$150 instantly in lineups if you win your first $5 lineup.
Right now at prize picks, download the app before the,
A.I. makes it all-knowing and omnipotent, and that way you can probably still make some money off
this thing before it gets too smart. Prize picks, run your game. Prize picks, run your game.
Yeah, it doesn't sound right, but we're back here. Boy, that's an understatement. We're back
here and Jim, we're here in the final portion of the show. We still have another topic to talk
about. Jim, have you been following the latest news about Pat Tanaka?
No, I have not. Hopefully, it's not bad news because I haven't heard anything of Pat Tanaka
and years and years years. My statement went out on social media by the wrestling company
AIW, absolute intense wrestling.
To be fully transparent, we made an agreement with Pat Tanaka and gave him the necessary funds to get here after his travel arrangements fell through Wednesday night.
He did not arrive for a scheduled seminar Friday night and had not been in any communication with us since Thursday evening,
after attempting to call him around 15 times until 3.30 p.m. yesterday.
At that time, Pat called and claimed to have been in a car wreck and had been in a car wreck and had been,
been in a ditch.
Wait a minute.
Had been in a ditch?
For how long?
So it's like Wednesday night or whatever,
and nobody could find him,
and he crawled out on his own?
And said he should have called sooner.
Back up and read me that again.
And by the way, this is all one sentence.
That has not been a comma or a period anywhere yet,
so let me find a good start point.
He did not arrive for a scheduled seminar Friday night
and had not been in any communication
with us since Thursday evening
after attempting to call him around
15 times until 3.30 p.m. yesterday.
At that time,
Pat called and claimed to have been in a car wreck
and had been in a ditch
and said he should have called sooner
but was trying to figure out how to get here.
How to get out of the ditch.
I swear to God,
I'll get here, Buddy Landell,
say, I swear God,
I was trying to figure out how to get out of that ditch.
All right.
And he was trying to figure out how to get here
and was booking a flight with his miles that left at 7 p.m.
And landed at 7 p.m. somehow.
And asked for us to move his match to a little later on the clock.
Wait, wait a minute. Hold on here.
This was AIW, absolute intense wrestling, right?
That is correct, yes.
That is in Cleveland.
Is that not correct?
Oh, I don't know.
I thought it was a Chicago.
Oh, Cleveland.
No, you're right.
It's Cleveland.
It's Cleveland.
Point is, Cleveland's on Eastern Times.
So a flight leaving at 7 p.m., getting to Cleveland at 7 p.m.
would have to be leaving from the fucking Maritimes.
Let me go back to this.
Pat Tanaka asked for us to move his match for a little later on the card.
It is Sunday morning.
and Pat Tanaka has still not arrived
and we have still not heard from him since.
And this goddamn last match is tired of putting in this fucking time.
We wanted the Pat Tanaka experience
and it seems we got it.
We love to gamble on these wild card old timers
so I'm sure we will be in this situation again
with one of these guys down the road.
As for Pat's flight and when it is landed,
That is to be continued.
That is to be continued,
but he's allegedly been up in the air for quite some time at this point.
He's a very nice guy on the telephone, though when he does answer,
oh, that's that way it's phrased, though when he does answer,
and we wish him the best.
So that's the statement from AIW.
How old is Pat?
Now, Pat's got to be my age now.
I guess was he one in 61 60 yes uh no he's 64 he'll be 65 depending on what his birthday is
i guess maybe he has a couple different ages oh yeah there's two different ages listed here one says
1963 one says 1961 so it's one of these two if it's fitting that we don't know what year he
was born oh boy but uh well i hope they fill us in whenever he
gets there, because I'd like to know he's okay and, you know, nobody made off with him or anything.
I have a statement here from his management.
Oh, God.
He's got management?
Sean Ng from KWK.
They make retro wrestling figures.
I have actually some of their new ones here for the next retro figure segment, the
Great Kabuki and Tenru.
But wait a minute.
He's also agenting Pat Tanaka in the business of booking for pro wrestling.
or whatever this is, yes.
Or whatever this may be.
Public statement regarding Pat Tanaka and AIW.
KWK Brand is aware of the concerns surrounding Pat Tanaka's recent scheduled appearance
with absolute intense wrestling, AIW.
First, I want to make it clear that KWK brand did not book or arrange this appearance.
The booking was made directly between Pat,
an AIW.
Oh God, so I got nothing to do with this, folks, right off top.
However, I represent Pat and have an ongoing professional relationship with him,
including future bookings.
Because of that, I do not want to simply leave him to deal with this situation on his own.
I have spoken directly with Pat about what happened.
Based on our conversations, I believe Pat
experienced genuine difficulties while traveling
and became overwhelmed by the situation
like a minute
where's he coming from Brazil
from the ditch
he was in the ditch
dude
but I mean he's been into wrestling business for 40 years
he can't get to Cleveland without being overwhelmed
but once again Pat
experience he believes Pat experienced
genuine difficulties while traveling and became overwhelmed by the situation.
I also believe the communication during the incident was not handled properly,
and I understand why this has created concerns for promoters.
I want to be very clear that I am personally vouching for Pat.
Well, that is...
Thankfully, you know, at your word is good as gold around here, Sean.
Pat is genuinely sorry for what happened,
and understands that his handling of the situation
created a serious problem for the promotion.
He wants to make things right
and continue working professionally.
I would like to contact AEW.
I would like to contact A.E.W.
They wish.
I would like to contact AIW directly
to better understand their side
and hopefully help facilitate a resolution.
But I have not yet been able to connect with the promotion.
Pat has not missed a single event he was booked for over the past several years,
which is why we view this as an isolated incident.
That does not excuse how the situation was handled, and we want to make amends.
Our hope is to reach out to AIW, and, if they are willing, work at a different date for Pat to appear.
So you can sit there and wonder about whether he's going to show up this time or not.
Pat is willing to travel to the event entirely on his own dime to make this right with AIW, their staff, and most importantly the fans who were expecting to see him.
We understand that trust is earned through actions, not words.
Pat wants the opportunity to show that this was an isolated incident and that he remains committed.
to fulfilling his professional obligations.
And that is signed by Sean Ng in charge of K.W.
In other words, I still want my percentage from these dates I booked him on and I'll get him there some way or another.
I mean, I think it's more that, you know, please don't worry and start canceling every single thing that we booked him on because you don't know if he's out of the ditch or if the plane has landed.
Oh.
Oh, well.
You know, I just heard this came up recently, I think, on John McAdams show.
Do you think bad company would have fit with the NWA in 1989?
Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka coming off AWA?
I, 1989, I'm just trying to think because with Turner broadcasting,
I'm not talking about what they fit in the locker room or in the ring.
They were a good tag team.
And they, Pat had, it was a second generation wrestler,
had been around a business for a long time,
although had, you know, every once in a while had his issues.
And I think they would have been great to work with.
I don't know if TBS at that point in time,
and with the revolving door of bookers,
if they'd have really gotten a chance,
I don't know that they had anybody that, you know,
would have been pulling for them or trying to, you know,
if they had been available and asked to come in,
I would have vouched for them during the time that I was on the committee,
but at the same point in time, you know, that nothing ever lasted.
You see what I'm saying.
So would they have been up and down,
would they have been another destruction crew,
up and down and out and whatever?
So I don't know how well they would have done,
but if they'd have got with,
Procket in 86, they could have been a good, we were loaded with tag teams, but they could
have been a good working team, either as baby faces or heels, underneath the Road Warrior
Rock and Roll Midnight Tullian Arn level.
And they still would have, they were better than the new breed.
Did you ever see what I'm saying?
Did you ever meet Duke Keamooka?
I never did.
But I thought at first he was Duke Cahanamoka from the surfing competition on ABC's
wide world of sports.
But no, I never got to, I met Hero Matsuda, but I never got to meet Duke.
All right.
Well, we will stay on top of the Pat Tanaka Beat, presenting both sides of the story here.
And I believe you have something, you said.
Well, something just crossed the desk here as we were taking our last break.
and it's something we talked about in the past or related to it.
But I've never heard this story either, but this is from the Ottawa citizen in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
And the opening paragraph is, before an Ottawa jury could decide whether John Zaghetti had earned $3,000 by pinning a massive black bear at a wrestling match, his lawyer, Arthur Cogan, had to answer this fundamental question.
The bear even have shoulders.
This was actually a case, Brian,
and we've talked about the wrestling bear
and how I missed the wrestling bear,
the bear of my childhood, et cetera.
They actually went to court with this.
This is a souped up version of the fucking sugarhole challenge
and our friend William Harding in Frankfurt.
Would you like to hear this real quick?
Yeah, I don't know about this.
It was July, 1967.
and they have the newspaper at wrestling in Lansdowne Park.
And it was Edward Carpontier and Lord Layton against the masked Yankees,
Little Brutus against Jamaica Kid, the midget match.
And on the card, also Bulldog Brower is on it.
And also it says, Terrible Ted versus Gene Dubois.
And obviously, Jean Dubois was Dave McKigney,
who was the bear guy in Ontario in 60s and 70s, right?
But up at the top of this ad,
it says $3,000 reward to anybody who can pin terrible Ted.
So they were not only, because even in Tennessee,
they never let the fans get in the ring with the bear, right?
It was always for one of the boys.
But they were doing the fucking challenge.
wherever you pin, you know, so they'd say people would come to see what would happen, right?
And somebody might try to take them up on it.
So back to this article, there was terrible Ted, a seven-foot black bear whose weight was
billed at an improbably precise 692 pounds.
Ted would fight his owner, Gene Dubois, the wrestling name of Dave McKigney,
along with anyone else who dared get in the ring with him,
an event promoter Howard Darwin of Ottawa 67's,
the London Knights and the Ottawa Lynx fame.
Apparently this was a local promoter at the time.
Had offered a $3,000 reward,
the equivalent today of almost $27,000 to anybody who could pin Ted.
So boom, boom, boom, I'm going to slip down.
The one guy that answers the challenge is a guy,
named Zegetti, right? What's his fucking first name? John Zagetti. And apparently this guy
was not only a 36-year-old 220-pound Hungarian welder who was also familiar with fighting 400-pound
pigs from his native Hungary when he was a farmer or whatever, and he desperately needed the
money. His truck had been hit by lightning and needed replacing.
The match lasted about four and a half minutes.
He lasted four and a half minutes with this bear.
And Sagetti later testified that he got his arms around Ted,
lifted the bear slightly and twisted him off balance,
bringing him onto his back.
Sagetti ended up laying across Ted's chest.
It was Dubois, though, who ended the match,
kicking one of Sagittie's arms to break the hold,
and then removing Ted's muzzle.
It's like the bear dropping the strap.
and that's what even when when the bear would wrestle one of the boys the trainer would still keep a hold of the leash which was like i don't know eight feet or whatever or the chain or whatever they were using leather leash
and so the trainer was always there
and in one of these when the bear is wrestling of Mark
the trainer is kind of there
not that you ever had to help the bear until now
but just to make sure the bear doesn't like kill the fucking guy
right yeah so
so Getty scrambled out of the ring
while the crowd took the Hungarian side with shouts of fake
phony and put the muzzle back on
Sagetti was convinced he had won,
the promoter disagreed and didn't pay the $3,000,
and Sagetti sued.
The case landed with Kogan,
the lawyer who thought that he could win.
So they had to,
the defense eventually conceded both
that Darwin had made the offer and that
Sagetti had accepted it.
They had to decide whether Sagetti had pinned the bear.
So,
Kogan said, I treated the bear as an opponent and an athletic event,
and an opponent has to have shoulders to be pinned.
And under Ontario wrestling rules, the shoulders had to be held to the mat for at least three
seconds.
So the first question, Kogan recalls, was, does a bear have shoulders?
Which is how in May 1968, a bear skeleton ended up under a sheet in an Ottawa courtroom.
Oh, my God.
I couldn't bring a bear into court, Cogan says, but I sort of did.
He went to the National Museum of Natural Sciences,
now the Canadian Museum of Nature on McLeod Street,
and got the curator of mammals not only to agree to testify,
but also loaned him a polar bear skeleton.
The skeleton was transported to the courthouse hidden beneath a sheet
before the six jurors entered.
Then he recalled.
calls he pulled the sheet away in dramatic fashion. Behold a bear. And he showed the people
the fucking soldier structure, shoulder structure, and explained why that a bear could lie flat
against the ground, could God, I'm trying to read and speak at the same time. And he also said
that a standing bear isn't that stable and could be pushed over without much difficulty. So
They proved that a bear could anatomically be pinned.
And then the witnesses, three spectators, testified that he had been on the bear somewhere between six and ten seconds.
But guess who disagreed, Brian, on the amount of time that he was on the bear?
Who?
Referee Kenneth Tiger Tasker.
The old Toronto referee.
that was at all the fucking famous clips and pictures and the magazines and everything,
he said that Sagetti hadn't held Ted down long enough.
And apparently that may have decided the case because he was the referee,
but the trial or the civil trial lasted three days,
went to the jury on May the 8th.
They deliberated at 320 that afternoon until 9 o'clock.
and they returned to say they couldn't reach a verdict.
He sent them back.
And at 1140, 8 hours and 20 minutes after beginning deliberations,
the longest civil jury deliberation that court officials could remember,
they returned with the verdict.
He hadn't penned him.
And then it was announced that Terrible Ted returned to Ottawa
as part of the brand new civic centers,
first ever wrestling card,
and the promoter tried to book Sagetti.
This sounds like when they tried to get the cowboy
to come back to Russell Sputnik in the Ellis Auditorium.
He tried to book him,
and he would pay spaghetti $3,000,
win or lose if he got back in the ring with Ted.
And apparently they billed him as Mr. X, right?
but they did it.
3,200 people on June 11th,
1968,
terrible Ted disposed of Mr. X in short order.
And the attorney basically says that,
yeah, Sigetti went flying out of the ring
and Howard paid the three grand,
so Sagetti got his money.
They got a new attraction for the opening of the Civic Center.
And the lawyer got a story
that he's been telling to other lawyers for
60 years. Why is Mr. X?
Apparently this was a settlement
that the attorney worked out somehow
because
that he didn't want to be advertised
as I guess this guy probably
under his own name
had gotten enough
fucking grief anyway through this whole thing.
So he said,
put him under a mask and
pay him and he'll wrestle the fucking bear
and that was a settlement.
What kind of a fucking courthouse?
I don't know what the fuck is going on
but yeah the bear skeleton
here it's got shoulders
see now
that is the only way
that Jim heard
could have gotten the hunchbacks over
is if he'd have brought in
a genuine hunchback skeleton
well if only someone was in the room
to suggest that
but apparently just want to share
your good ideas now
well I didn't think of it
to be honest I didn't know one that had
recently died
and I'm thinking they don't have the budget
to dig one up.
All right. But nevertheless, the wrestling bear.
Well, Jim, this is not going to be one of the longer episodes of the drive-through.
We're going to call it in a minute, but another...
Oh, it seems like it's lasted forever.
It sure does sometimes, but we have another...
We have another statement put out by KWK.
Uh-oh.
Of course, earlier we talked about their statement representing Pat Tanaka.
This is a separate incident.
KWK Brand's statement regarding PG-13 action figures
Of course PG-13, J-C. Ice and Wolfie D.
K-W-K-Brand would like to address the recent public comments
regarding the planned PG-13 K-Fabe Heroes figures
featuring J-C-E-E-E-D.
After speaking directly with Wolfie D,
we agreed that the PG-13 project cannot move forward
under the current circumstances.
This project was developed as a partnership
with an agreement that the talent involved
would support and promote the product.
Recent public comments have breached that understanding
and created a serious breakdown
in the professional relationship.
Well, wait a minute.
I thought they haven't, their perspective,
figures or future figures, figures that were coming out, right?
How have Jamie and Wolfie knocked their own figures before they're even released?
Is what you're saying?
I will research that in a second.
I will say that a few days ago, images came out, mock-ups, digital renderings of what the
PG-13 figures are supposed to look like when they're finally produced and made,
which would be down the road.
We'll see if that ties into this.
Most seriously, comments directed towards KWK brand, our team, and our manufacturing partners,
including racist and discriminatory remarks.
We will not accept or tolerate this conduct towards the people who work with us.
I have a feeling I know of which one they also spoke to on the phone.
Or help produce our products.
We understand that talent may dislike a prototype, render, or finish product.
constructive criticism is completely acceptable.
Publicly attacking the company, its people, and its partners,
while failing to provide the promotional support agreed,
is something entirely different.
We also want to make one thing very clear.
This is not about Wolfie D.
Wolfie has been 200% supportive of this project from day one.
He has been professional,
enthusiastic and respectful throughout the entire process,
and we greatly appreciate our relationship with him.
They don't want to name any names,
but it's not one of the two people that it could possibly be.
At this point, the PG-13 project will be dropped
unless Jamie Dundee makes a genuine public apology
and takes responsibility for his recent comments and actions.
Maybe they do want to name names.
Because the comments were made publicly.
And his Social Security number is...
Because the comments were made publicly,
we believe any resolution must also be public.
If the apology does not happen,
KWK Brand will end the PG-13 project
and request a return of funds previously paid to both parties
in connection with the project.
Now, do you think if the apology has to be made in public
because the comments were made in public,
you think the apology has to be made while Jamie's drunk?
Because the, well, I don't know for sure.
We are not interested in a public back and forth.
Professional relationships require mutual respect, accountability, and good faith.
we sincerely appreciate everyone who supported PG-13
and apologize to the collectors
who are looking forward to these figures
so well he kind of explained exactly
what it was there
well and I'm just wondering
well I guess he had to say something
but since we didn't hear about
what the comments were
we just heard about what the response was
to the comments I was wondering if he amped
simplified it, but they had to give some explanation for not issuing the products that they said they were going to issue.
But so Jamie is noted for giving careful thought to any issue that arises and then making a measured response to same.
So do you think he saw the fucking pictures of the prototype or whatever?
it just, I don't know, got on the radio and said,
fuck these motherfuckers.
Well, I think we can confirm that's exactly what happened.
I'm on Jamie.
He posted a picture of a Brian Christopher figure prototype
from figure collections, which is coming out.
It looks really good.
They're doing various versions of Brian Christopher.
Here's what Jamie wrote.
I will stop when it's something I cannot read on the air.
Also, I just want to note,
his spelling is all over the place.
Dollars within two lines is spelled D-L-O-L-L-A-R-S
and D-O-L-L-A-R-S.
But that's just him, I guess.
And he posted the mock-ups that Sean Inge posted.
This is what PG-13 looks like.
This is what Brian Christopher looks like.
Correct.
But the K-W-K brand,
sculpture can't seem to get this
through his slanted eye. Oh, there it is.
Oh, Jesus.
What we look like.
So, Sean Ng,
you fucking think I give a fuck about your
pissy little $1,500 and one
set of those garbage-looking things you call
good? You should take that
$1,500 and send
that sculptor to school for
sculpting. And I'll
do you but better
one than that.
I'll take all your shitty garbage
figures and bury them with my dad on third.
Jesus Christ.
Jesus.
Age Christ.
It's a fucking action figure.
Well, I'll finish at least this.
Wow.
And bury them with my dad on Thursday to save those of us that are still alive.
So we won't have to see that shit you call a company instead of crying about the cost of
production.
You wouldn't have to have your performance.
production. You wouldn't have to...
Excuse me, it's all over the place. You wouldn't have to
have if your production wasn't garbage.
So here's the KWK
brand's version of PG-13.
Fucking garbage like Sean
Eng stands for Sean
not good at making figures.
And he goes on from there
and another...
He goes on from there?
Another racist comment and then...
And then he posted... He's gone on so far.
He's almost met himself coming back around the other
side. And then he posted a...
personal comment, a DM he got from
Seaning saying that, hey, I saw your thing,
maybe we should just cancel the figures.
And Jamie wrote back,
fuck you, motherfucker, but it's spelled
F-U-V-K-Y-O-U-B-D-L-J-V-E-T-E-D,
mother,
F-I-K-C-K-D-R.
But it's one of those things where you see all the words
jumbled up, you can tell exactly what he means.
There's another one.
Fucking garbage.
Looks like toad, fat Chinese fucking sump wheeler, right?
Kevin Lawler?
Wait, stop.
No, no.
Stop.
Back up.
Give me that again.
I'm going to try to not laugh over the top of it.
That last line.
These comments are not those of Jim Cornett or this program or my company or anyone else
who's reasonable, but this is Jamie Dundee.
Fucking garbage.
Looks like tolled fat Chinese fucking sump.
Wheeler, right?
Kevin Lawler and Kevin Lawler is tagged.
Worst job ever agree or disagree?
As a present, Kevin.
I don't think all of those are actually all words.
Kevin Lawler has not responded as a present.
Here's another post and, again, another shot of the DM he got from Sean.
You're a mistake thinking you can run a figure company.
Stick with what you're good at killing cats and selling them for chicken.
Jesus.
Oh boy
Holy shit
Yeah
Why would you want to work with him
After this
And then yeah
It gets more
More racist from there
There's a photo of another
Jamie Dundee figure
It appears giving the middle finger
And Jamie wrote
To the KWK sculptor
Take notes
KWK brand
That's what I look like
Not the shit you tried to pass off
And a good job
Blockock
fucking garbage
and he's just
blah ha ha ha ha ha garbage
garbage company boys
fnt t waste your time
on these low budget ass
Rudy putt Reggie B fine would say
so Sean Ing fuck you
oh by the way
you want to pull something pull this dick
out of your mouth
oh gosh laugh my ass off
Aha.
Holy God.
You ought to pull something.
Pull his dick out of your mouth.
And here's another one.
Fuck you in your ass, Mr. Miyagi.
I mean, just, it's bad.
Yeah, I mean, why would you...
First of all, he screwed up a payday for Wolfie D.,
which is pretty...
Poor Wolfie!
He did.
He did nothing.
How fuck did Wolfie do?
Hey, Jamie, I'll give you some money
to make a figure of you for, you know,
that big Jamie Dundee figure.
audience. All right, let me fuck this up.
Let me say.
Well, that's the,
this is this week's retro figure report.
