Hey, Niall.
It was the same thing with slow hands.

You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done.
You too, Joe.

This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's your love language?
Quality time and words of affirmation.
No way.
Acts of service in my love language.
Be competent and be of use.
Help me.
That shit makes me melt.
But that's so scary.
because then someone will suck everywhere else.
And then if they do that, that's like the like...
That's 17 red flags, but they do that?
Love.
Hey, guys, thanks for watching.
Today's episode is brought to you by Boost Mobile.
I'm very excited about today's guest because I love her.
She has built a career on telling the truth,
whether she's singing about heartbreak, healing, sobriety,
or the messiness of just being human.
Her music resonates because she is willing to say the things
that a lot of people won't say and are afraid to.
She's earned multiple Grammy nominations,
collaborated with artists like Justin Bieber, Little Wayne, Ari Lennox,
and established her as one of the most distinctive voices of her generation.
Now the Toronto native is back with her latest album, A Little Vengeance.
Jesse Reyes is here in real life.
We love Jesse so much.
Thank you.
Thank you. Symbiotic, I love you too.
How are you, baby?
I'm good. I'm tired, but grateful.
Why are you so tired? What are they making you do?
Oh my god, too much.
But we're here, and I'm happy to see you, and I love seeing you.
I love seeing you.
to, baby. You know, I was thinking this morning that you were coming here and I was like, damn, I felt a little bad because the last time, well, I saw you at your concert. We had a great time. So your parents met the dog, all that. We'll get into that later. But the time before that was you came to see me at IRL booth who were doing the pod, but a small version of the pod at the BET Awards. Oh, right, right. And you popped in for a second. It was a quick little interview. Yeah. And I love that photo. The photo that we got that day is really wholesome. It's a cute photo. Do you remember anything else from that day or no? I'm sure I cried, which is very, um.
did cry.
Yeah, of course.
Mm-hmm.
It's so.
Oh, so you're okay with it.
In my mind, I'm like, damn, I should have, I should have checked on her after and I didn't.
Oh, you're sweet.
I feel bad that I didn't check on you after because you said you had just gone through some heartbreak.
Mm-hmm.
And you like, cried talking about it.
Ew.
I hate that for me.
That's what I was crying about.
I was crying about a bum.
I hate that for me.
Mm-hmm.
By the way, you wouldn't be the first woman to cry over a bum.
It happens.
all the time every day.
Right now, somebody's crying over somebody.
Right now.
That sucks.
That sucks.
That sucks if it's you and you're listening.
Wipe your fucking tears, bitch.
He's a bum.
He's a bum.
It's a bum.
But this was like a year ago, right?
Yeah.
How could you have been crying over a bum a year ago?
How?
Yeah, because you're so dope and funny and great and talented.
Like what is it bad choosing?
Because you seem smart and you and you tapped in.
So you're not, you're not totally surprised by somebody's behavior, right?
Yeah.
Like, are you choosing bad?
Are you?
I think I, at that time, I was choosing bad and also I fell in love by accident.
Like I didn't.
Slipped on it?
I kind of slipped.
Yeah.
Damn, that sounds crazy.
Whoops, it was an accident.
I thought I had my shit together and I saw the cards on the table and I was like, well, this is, this is a fucking flake.
This is a flaming red flag.
This is a flaming red flag.
So like, keep it at bay.
And I did.
And then I-
We always think we could control that part.
What a joke.
I think I've learned my lesson now that I'm like,
well, I just, you have to be, actually, I don't think.
I know I've learned my lessons, but I almost, I, my slingshot
shot over here and then I became a tyrant where I was like, I see a beige flag.
Like, fuck yo.
I see a fucking like the smallest thing that I'm like, no, no, no.
And then obviously that's not healthy.
What is a flag for you?
Oof.
What is a flag that you might, it doesn't have to be him per se, but like the flags, what are the flags?
Multiple baby moms is a flag.
Lack of accountability is a flag.
Mm-hmm.
Devout.
This is, fuck, but is my truth.
When someone, I, I, let me preface this by saying, I love, I'm very spiritual, love spirituality,
love reading about philosophy and how they intermingle.
I like learning about theology, but I don't love institutions.
And I grew up very, like, traditional, my mom,
and my mom, thank God, my parents are very liberal.
They're open-minded.
So even still, I was still like free to have my own relationship
with the divine.
But I don't like institutions.
So when someone is profoundly devout is a little bit
of a red flag for me.
No shade.
You know, people do whatever you gotta do,
that's your business, but like for me, it's like,
however you find your connection.
However you find your connection, it's fine.
But, but that's scary.
me a little bit when someone is like because as you question maybe they're I don't know it's just a
it's a bigger conversation and it's sticky it's because you know they always say you should
never talk about politics and religion because I could talk about this for hours because first off I
know what's the the Socrates quote I know I know that I know nothing at all so I'll start there I know I know
nothing and your relationship with the divine is yours but then when men intermingle in history and then
books get edited and then agendas get pushed and then equality gets questioned and and then when
love gets weaponized that for me is just very for me for my internal thing love cannot be weaponized
so for there to be institutions that are weaponizing love and then you fully subscribe that to me
makes me a little hesitant to trust your judgment yeah but no shade and what's beautiful is that some
people are able to exist in that world but still hold space for their truths like i've had
conversations with priests where i've been able to like express my my hesitations and where i see flaws
and then and when there's respect you can have all sorts of conversations and he held space for me
to be able to express that when i was i was a child i was younger but i was able to have it and then
he echoed something that my father had echoed a long time ago too which is a you can't you can't
and again i don't judge it it's just it i don't it's only take it into consideration if i'm considering
someone as a partner because then they're going to be directly you know but if it's someone in passing
or a friend there's no judgment you do do whatever you want to do no judgment because my dad was like
you can't you can't judge or fault someone for however they form a relationship with the divine because
it is personal so you can't you just can't and also things are going to resonate for people like
you don't have to i don't think you have to be like i subscribe to this so i agree with everything
i don't i think that's so unfair to get someone to commit because there are fun it's kind of like what's
What's wrong with our country right now?
This country right now.
Yeah, because people feel like they're in,
so now I have to support all the things.
All the things.
Are you crazy?
Are you crazy?
On either side, are you crazy?
On both sides.
Because there flies everywhere.
Yeah, yeah.
So you can't make those sort of generalizations
without holding space for human error.
You have the greatest hair, Jesse.
Thank you.
Like, who could just do that?
Who could just flip her hair around in an interview?
And it just lands right.
You know what I'm saying?
My hair, did the lady come over and then,
Brittany's like, push the second.
And I'm like, okay.
It's like whatever you do to your hair.
It's just, that's funny.
Do you appreciate this hair?
Yeah, yeah, I appreciate the hair.
Thank God for it.
Yeah, I do now.
When I was a kid, I was a reckless.
I don't give a shit.
But yeah, but now I've come to appreciate her more.
You appreciate it.
It's pretty good.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I was about to say that.
Shut up my parents.
You gotta thank the parents.
Yeah.
Okay, so you were down because you ignored red flags.
I was down because I ignored red flags.
You were down bad.
Mm-hmm.
You were crying on the pod about, oh my God.
Yeah.
About a bum.

That song is so good.
Thank you.
For somebody who's new to Jesse Reyes,
because there's still every day new people coming to the table.
By the way, I was so excited to be at your concert.
Oh, so happy you came.
That was fun.
It was so fun for me.
Number one, because I love the album.
And then watching you in your element,
you've always been great as a performer.
But watching the crowd grow and then the crowd know you better in a weird way,
you just have a, it's just so organic and such a,
dope thing to watch. And then you go backstage and you're with, your parents are there,
the dogs there, your team is there. Like you've really curated your world very organically to who
you are. And that is so joyful to see. Thank you. Do you feel that inside, like from the inside
of your world? Does it feel like that? Not as much as I need it to be.
Really? Yeah. Wow. How so? Because I've always been a workaholic and it's been
sustain of actually no it's just things have shifted and it's it did a lot for how I
feel but I was always able to bring my parents on tour and like I'm so privileged and spoiled by
being I don't miss home because I've been able to bring home I'm able to work that way because
I'm able to bring home and bring my hearts like my my my love with me but this tour was the
first time that I was like far removed from them and I felt it and I was like damn like I don't
I want to go home I haven't felt that in nine years
Wow.
Yeah, I don't think I've ever, I like, I generally like touring.
I generally like that.
Anyways, it was the first time that I was like, I'm, yeah, I do that.
I miss home.
I miss home.
That's interesting.
So when I was there, your parents were there and the dog was there?
Well, that was America.
Oh, got it.
And then, yeah, so it was fine.
And then we shifted.
And then the shift is kind of what rocked me for the first time.
And I never really felt that weakness.
And then I started doing more inventory.
And I feel like I've done this inventory.
lightly in the last like year two year year year at year and a half that like yes I've been
blessed with a great career and I'm grateful but everything else suffers for it you know like when
you know it's a very common trope I'm not saying anything that's like brand new and you when you
work a lot your work life balance is a joke and like relationships suffer your you're just everything
and it's hard to a lot time it's hard to even prioritize anything because if something
work comes up that's an opportunity that you can't say no to for the bigger picture.
It's like I gotta miss his birthday.
I gotta admit like it's just difficult.
And after December of last year when we finished those six months, my body was like exhausted.
And it held out.
My body's good to me like for six months held out.
When I finally took a break, which normally happens after two of your body will get sick
because of everything it's been like countering.
Yeah, but like it charged me.
Like I was sick for like a month.
And then I realized I'm like, I'm exhausted, Matt, and kind of tired I am, sleep isn't
fixing. My soul is tired.
To play with emotions to the degree that I play with them is difficult to talk about them.
That's why I was like, I cried shocking because they're always here.
They're always, you know.
And I realized I looked around and I'm like, well, other artists take breaks.
And in nine years, I haven't really done that.
I have, the max I've taken is out of my own volition, Max, I've taken it.
taken in seven days. Anything over seven days? Yeah, anything over seven days has been because I got
fucked because I was sick or because my body like called it from me. It wasn't by will.
Yeah. But to say, because you know there's people I didn't there's people like to be okay,
I'm not touching my phone. I'm not touching an email. I'm not like even I've just always,
which is fine, which is which is it's a quality I get from just having that sort of work.
I think and watching my parents work.
My dad in 20 years didn't miss a day of work.
You miss one day, you miss my one day to go to my brother's graduation.
That's it.
So like, I get this.
They go.
So that's how I've, you know, but it's not sustainable.
It's not sustainable.
And also when I see other people around me that I've been able to do the long game,
I'm like, oh, you take breaks.
You take breaks and you balance.
So I feel like I'm doing for a fucking.
Is that coming?
Are you going to do it?
Yeah.
Fuck yeah.
What are you going to do?
What is that looking like?
Nothing.
Nothing.
I'm going to do fucking nothing.
I'm going to get a burner phone.
I'm so excited.
I don't want to see Instagram for like, I don't want to see Instagram.
I want to see TikTok.
I don't see my fucking Gmail.
I just want books and space and woods and family and my dog.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
And how long are we talking?
I don't know.
As long as I need.
That's why I said, I'm like, it might be retirement.
And the people around me are like, are you fucking crazy?
That's like saying a fish isn't going to swim anymore.
more you create in your sleep.
And I was like, yeah, but I also don't want, and men makes plans and God laughs.
So like, who the fuck knows?
I can say retirement and then I'm going to miss it in two months and come back.
Maybe that's all I need.
Or maybe I need more.
But I also don't want, I don't want, I'm just at the mercy of God and whatever happens.
But right now.
Right now, I'm tired.
I told my squad.
I was like, I'm not doing a fucking massive too.
Y'all are going to get 10 shows out of me max.
So we're working at, which I don't think is going to happen until a little after.
Ideally, I was going to be done in June.
That's not happening anymore, but it's okay.
compromise is fine.
You're already compromising.
Isn't that some shit?
I wasn't supposed to, but it's fine.
This is the last compromise.
But it's going to be 10 shows and then fucking off.
If there's only 10 shows, I do recommend people get to them.
Because if you haven't been to a Jesse Reyes show, it's so good.
Tell them.
You're so good on stage.
You're so free and so authentic and.
Thanks.
Pretty great.
Thank you.
So, even when you're in those times, yeah, I was like, do you, is it still fun for you on the stage?
Yes.
Yeah, but I've just never felt the longing to go home.
I'm just, it's just such a, it was in city, it almost felt dirty.
Right, because you do love it so much.
Because I, yeah.
So to feel that, I was like, what the fuck is this?
Like I've never, I've just never, for damn near a decade, I never felt the like, I don't go home.
I want to hug my mom.
Like I never, yeah.
I can't believe that you, it has, this is, it's taking you this long to realize.
To get tired, yeah.
Maybe you need a little.
Roots.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you're so, I don't know, like self-reflective and like you, I don't know, you think.
Blind spot, I guess.
I'm just looking over.
Shit.
You know why too?
I think because you don't, it's not like you work in a factory or you're a doctor or a
teacher.
No, it's because you're a creative.
And so the creative, who is what you, what you are in real life is a creative.
You also do that as work.
Oh, yeah.
you're saying you know if you have a clear job like that's my job yeah and i go home you could be if
i worked for 300 days straight i need to go i need to break yeah you like you are creative and so it's
just it's right it's just you don't shut it off yeah so even if you're not working on the album
when you go home you are working on the album it's like a non-stop thing so where is the where's the
line where is the line yeah oh my god you know after you go take a break you know what them
creative juices are going to be doing after that you're going to explode
Maybe. We'll see. That's funny. Like retention, like semen retention?
Something might happen. You never know.
Yeah. Yeah, we'll see.
What was the documentary that Beyonce did that one time when she was
floating in the water and it was a similar time in her life?
She was in a boat or some shit.
And she said, I had never taken a vacation.
Same thing. She had the same, you should go watch it. I don't know.
I feel like there's something in there for you.
She did that documentary at a period. She said, I went from Destiny's Child to
that to my solo, to this, to that, to this.
And I had, she had never taken a break. It was her first time taking a break.
break. Right. And then she, hey ladies, if you have been struggling with dry hair breakage or just

and use the code iRL for 20% off that's 20% off at basque and lather c o.com code iRL i feel like
there is parallels yeah yeah there's parallels and just that that feeling of like
fuck how do you i don't know anyway you're gonna be on cablebo amen amen you made some changes
in your life too the past couple of years is just like sober now that's the other thing yeah i think
maybe that's also what's made it a little bit more apparent maybe that's why it was a blind spot because
because I had that lubrication to like help me go and now the lubrication is not there.
So maybe that's why it's more, it's clear.
What made you decide?
Did I stop drinking?
Yeah.
If, the, I've drank for a long time.
I started young.
I know like 11, right?
Yeah.
And then when Yesy came out, we had an album release party in LA and every,
Everyone in their mother came, every morning town came.
And I had a bottle of Jameson glue to my hand all night.
And I'm like, I used to bartend for years.
I was a bottle service, when you can count money drunk, you're good.
And so that, I was always like, I'm fine.
Mind you, at that point, okay, I'm gonna finish the story and then I'll tell you the other
thing that I did.
So I was fine and then that, that,
I'll tell you some more shit off camera that happened at that party, but some shit happened.
Hmm.
And I ended up with no shoes.
Ended up with no shoes and fucking like, like dead and like damn near dead and my manager
saw me, Biss, I mean, he was like, Jesse's a little out of it, like, we should get her
the fuck out of here.
Got me out of there.
Thank God.
My folks were in town.
My mom opened the door, which is crazy.
She was in my house.
She was at home.
She opened the door and like, I can only imagine, because obviously I'm out, but I can only, like, she's done this her whole life.
Remember my whole life?
Like, I've been coming home drunk since I was like 14.
And she's never been like, yeah, she was just really, she was sad.
But like, okay, it is what it is.
And then I'll tell you some other stuff that happened at home after.
And then it was a hangover that lasted like two days.
And when I finally woke up, I was like, holy fuck, that everything could have gone left at that party.
Like everyone's got cameras.
Everything could have gone and everyone was there.
There's a lot that could have gone left.
And then there it goes.
It clips my album.
It clips things that could eclipse my career off of one fucking like stupid viral moment
where you're not of where you're not sound mind.
And so it just put a lot of shit into perspective.
And my liver was like cheering for this decision.
It was like, please like we're tired.
That's how it felt.
And then also I have.
I've had experiences in life where I was in love with someone that had intense substance abuse issues.
And we were together for years, on and off for fucking years, and that shit was hell.
And I think maybe that's, I think the majority of my trauma comes from that time and having to deal with him and like, how fucked up shit got.

I inherited that fandom from my mom.
I like watching it with my dad.

great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head,

Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that.

Because I wasn't an angry junk. I wasn't alike, but it shit, shit just got really dark, really dark.
So I think that in tandem with being like, okay, it's time, you've done this for this long.
Maybe it's time. And I also haven't smoked weed for a long time either. So like, I was like, maybe it's just time.
And I feel good. It's difficult sometimes, but I feel good.
It's been how long? Like three years?
Three years. Yeah. Isn't it nuts? Yeah, three years.
Wow.
Mm-hmm.
You just make the decision and you start right away?
I work that way.
I'm a, I can't do increments.
I have to go and then lock in.
Just cut it, just cut.
Just cut it.
Yeah.
You probably like that with relationships too, right?
Like when it's over, it's over.
When it's over, it's over.
Yeah, you don't go back.
Maybe you do.
You're a blind spot.
You know, your blind spots are crazy.
I know.
Isn't it ridiculous?
Damn, that sucks.
But normally, some.
I got nothing.
Damn.
Usually I can be, usually, like 75% of the time, I'm like,
fuck y'all, yeah, and I can move on.
So what do you notice about yourself that's different?
People say when they stop drinking their skin or this or their clarity or
the whites in your eyes are whiter?
Like, what do you, I don't know, have you seen a difference?
So you feel a difference in your body or anything?
I feel good.
It's nice to not worry.
I said this before.
I was like,
it's nice to not worry about emotions driving my car.
Because when I would drink, emotions would drive the car.
And then logic is in the back, like fucking going from side to side.
And emotions are fucking ripping corners and doing donuts.
And so now I've switched.
Logic is.
Yeah, logic's driving.
Emotions are still in the whip.
They're just like, they're just in the back seat.
So good.
Yeah, it's nice.
So that, that I feel good.
I feel good that I've been able to achieve this new realm where I trust myself more.
Mm-hmm.
And no, with any, was it hard, like withdrawals or anything like that?
Yeah.
It was hard with, it was hard with like, the first thing that was hard was like dealing with,
like, LA parties and shit.
Mm-hmm.
Because I'm introverted, so trying to do like, the minglingling and shit.
That shit was fucking very difficult.
difficult at first but then I got over it and now I could like party sober I
could dance a fucking night away sober I have a great time and then feel happy that I'm
gonna wake up okay but the only time I miss it is when shit is difficult in life
like when like if yeah if there's something heavy that's happening whereas before
I could have just done a little cup of whiskey and it would have just served like a
morphine button now I don't have that and that's that's something I still struggle with.
So what do you do you have a vice now? So I have a vice now.
You know what I mean because people I know yeah supplement you know what's when I
stop smoking weed when I took a break from smoking weed my supplement was hot yoga
that's what helped me. That's okay that's better at least it's a better vice
it's a better vice yeah it's a better vice um I mean fuck sprite and I got I got to chill
on Sprite too I'd be fucking I love Sprite I love Sprite when you need it too it's like
that's the thing that hits the spot so nice man burn my throat it's so good the bubbles
fuck. I love it. You're so funny. It's funny because I remember a time when you were in town and you had
hit me like, I don't know, we were talking about getting together or something and you're like,
yeah, we'll do some, we'll go have a shot of tequila. We're going to go have tequila. And then
like a couple of years ago, you're like, yo, I'm in New York random. You want to do a hot yoga
class. No way, that's so funny. I was like, oh, look at the evolution of Jesse.
That's hilarious. That's really good. That's so I'm right. Now that's a good time for you. Yeah.
Like, oh, remember when I couldn't.
And number two, I thought, I don't know that I'm in shape to do a high yoga class.
I think of my past out in the damn class.
You'd be fine.
You could lie down the whole class, eh?
Yeah.
You could literally, like the culture is you showed up, that's a win.
I did it once.
It was okay.
I would have to try it again.
I would do it with you.
But then you're going to be standing on your head.
So what?
I'm going to be able to can't touch my toes.
It's okay.
It's all good.
You just focus on your own mat.
Fuck everybody.
I know.
That's a good lesson in life, by the way.
Focus on your own mat, guys.
Focus on your own mat.
Do what you need to do on your mat.
Do you remember that little video that went viral?
It was a little girl like trying to tire her car seat and her dad.
Her mom's trying to help her and she's like, worry about yourself.
Worry about yourself.
No, it's so good.
I'll show you.
I need to see that.
It's really good.
That little video, has anyone seen that?
No, I love that.
That's your algorithm.
Yeah.
Yeah, true.
You forget.
Worry about yourself.
Worry about yourself.
No, no.
about yourself i was like oh this little ladies confucius i love this yeah that's so good that is so
cute what what about the um how has this change because one thing about your fan base they
i mean i don't i don't know them as well as you do clearly but from the outside it seems like
they are very locked in with you like you have a very kind of organic fan base yeah um
how did they move with your
Evolutions.
Evolutions.
And has anything surprised you about that and how they see you?
Yeah, people seeing, I, I, throughout my life, there's been little chapters where, like,
it feels like the, um, human connection is very potent, like, like, when gatekeeper dropped
and then getting all the messages about, like, people who had also gone through some shit
and fuck, when figures dropped, when faraway dropped, when it couldn't be me dropped.
There's been, there's certain, there's certain songs that like,
Hit a button.
Hit a button.
And I guess, yeah, I guess even with the chapter changes I've gotten, yeah, especially
from interviews where I've talked about sobriety, I've gotten a shitload of, thank you for
speaking of it.
I'm going through it right now or I've relapsed and I saw this and it really inspired me to
try again or good luck.
I'm 11 years in, you got this.
Like it's really sweet.
But yeah, people have grown with me which is nuts.
I remember Biz told me that this was going to happen years ago.
He was like, you're going to get blown away because all of a sudden you're going to start
having kids at your show and babies at your show from the people that have grown with you.
And that's happening.
And I'm like, well, it's fucking wild.
Really?
Yeah, like little kids with like little kiddo t-shirt on and like, yes, see, like, it's just, it's crazy.
And that's wild.
And it was really beautiful too, which is hilarious.
But like the, for how much.
I feel like the industry is reluctant to embrace someone as multifaceted musically and creatively as me,
because one could argue that I'm not as digestible, because maybe I'm not packaged the way that people would want,
or I speak about things that people wouldn't want, or whatever the fuck, or make too, too vast a spectrum of music so that
that it can't be streamlined in a specific genre, whatever,
all the reasons.
It's really cool that on the other side
and the organic side of what I'm doing,
that I'm beloved for that is really nice
and vindicating for having gripped onto what makes me me,
as opposed to bending and acquiescing earlier in my career
for the sake of a shot up, maybe a better career.
I'm happy with what I got.
I'm grateful for the achievements I've been able to touch
while I'm alive and also grateful to be
able to share with my family because I know there's people that want to chase this and
want to do it and then time passes and you lose people and you don't even get to like,
you know, the farmer doesn't get to eat the fruit of their labor, but like I've been able
to fucking feed people. So like, I'm really grateful for that and grateful that that's my like,
see, I told y'all, like, see? Because there's, because I didn't need to concede. I didn't
need to bend. I didn't need to. That feels good. Yeah. And the fans, I think,
feel that. People feel that. Yeah. But there is sacrifice in that too. Yeah, of
yeah, yeah. Yeah. But probably sacrifice or shit that you, who knows if you even wanted that?
Yeah, fuck it. It wasn't meant for me. Yeah. Wasn't meant for me. Does it look like you
thought it will look? Because like, you know, right? Sorry, I'll let you finish your question.
I was going to say you made your career your way. But coming up, like, it wasn't the vision,
right, of how you thought it would go. No, no, because when you're, it was
When you're a kid, you know, you think of life and you're like, oh, I see the dreams
and you only see the good.
Uh-huh.
Because you do, because that's just how you dream.
Yeah.
You, but that's just the nature of life.
Like you see the goal and you see like the like.
And that applies everywhere.
And that applies for everything.
And that's also why you you fuck up your quality of life if you don't make it a constant
practice to be grateful for whatever the fuck you have because people with straight hair
and want curly hair and people with a husband want to be single.
And people that are single long for their part.
partner and people with no kids long for kids and vice versa.
It's just, it's a constant like, you know, and you get the timeline that you were given,
you subscribe, or you, you, you vibrate in the timeline that that you were given.
And if you don't fucking learn to appreciate that, then you live in a constant state of
like, what if, oh, but I wanted that at a constant state of longing and suffering, but
you want that detachment and acceptance for whatever was given.
That shit elevates quality of life so much.
Because if you ask me, no, it doesn't look like it because I, because I pictured such a,
I pictured a utopia.
And I didn't realize that the utopia had a fucking basement and there are bodies in that basement.
So it's not fucking, you know, it's not built on nothing.
That has been a little bit of a mind fuck coming into it.
But every day I practice the like, wait a minute.
And also helps when I talk to people that have known me from time to be like, can you believe
it like from from busking to this, from from Kensington Market to this, from like that's a,
those are really nice reminders and anchors into the moment where I could be like, this might
and I looked like exactly what I wanted,
but no one looks at their dreams aware of the basement.
Everyone always only looks at the utopia.
That is so good.
The bodies in the basement.
And also, a lot of times I think our dreams
or the images of what we think a version of,
I want a successful career, creating, making music, whatever,
is fed to us by other people's stories, right?
So like you're a young girl and you're watching people
Selena, I remember watching Selena.
I was like, what is this?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And could you imagine what she was dealing with?
Yeah.
And the journey, you know, in the fights that she had to do.
So you only see your dreams is only like images of what are fed.
But you don't know.
Yeah. You don't know until you do it.
So that is the key, right, is to find the gratitude.
Yeah. And water your garden.
Trying to find gratitude every day, whatever you're doing.
You could be a teacher, a kindergarten teacher and love teaching the kids.
But your idea of being a successful kindergarten teacher is doing it at this private school in this
blah, blah, blah, neighborhood and this is like you're chasing something that's an image of what you think it is.
And then you're missing the joy of that today you made a little kid learn how to do whatever.
Like you could just miss the joys of our actual real life.
And there goes your life.
Chasing a version of something that we don't even know it's like bits and pieces of things we saw other people do.
And it's not it's not real.
You don't even know if it would make you happen.
Maybe the boss at that private school's a dick.
And then you go and then you shit away the fun years at the other school.
Because you were just longing for something else.
Yeah.
Hey guys, you ever sign up for a phone plan thinking, wow, what a great price.

Brought to you by Booth Mobile.
It's brought to us by Booth Mobile.
It's from Steph.
From Steph.
And this is from somebody named Stephanie.
Stephanie or Steph?
Can you call it Stephanie?
Hey.
Hi, Jesse.
Steph here.
I'm a huge fan.
I especially love your song with Albianto.
For me and I'm sure a lot of other people, you know, I can identify with going through
a tumultuous relationship and trying to believe that things will change.
until you reach a point where you just need peace despite that love.
It's a beautiful song, but I think hearing in Spanish really deepened that meaning for me.
And I wonder when you're writing from a deep place emotionally, do you know immediately whether that feeling should be expressed in English or in Spanish?
Hello, Steph. Thank you for your voice notes.
I actually write more in English because I went to school in Canada.
My lexicon is vast and I read in English often too.
So that's where I pull a lot of my wording.
However, my first language is Spanish and I learned to love in Spanish and I learned to be a human being in Spanish.
So it's funny because the Spanish songs are very like potent.
As you said, like one of the bento is very, it's potent and it's close and they're never, they're never like, they're always detailed and heavy with emotion.
I think it's because of that.
I think because it's a language I learned to love in.
It's almost like when people hear that,
it's like they take a step forward.
It's more intimate.
But they happen few and far.
They happen a lot less than the English ones
because I find my quality out of quantity.
Like I'll go in the studio and make five songs, five shit songs.
Maybe one of them's good, and then that's the one I'll focus on.
That's my rhythm.
But with Spanish songs, it takes me longer.
And because I'm used to my speed,
I get annoyed at myself for not having the same lexicon in Spanish and I get annoyed that it takes me longer so I don't do it often
Yeah, because she asked about that I was just looking up your lyrics
For begging for love mm-hmm
Let's talk me about this one when you came in
These are so good thank you is this is inspired by what did you call this is real life? No, this isn't a bum
The bum no this wasn't inspired by the bum this was inspired by a decent guy, but
Yeah.
Yeah.
A decent guy made you feel like you were begging for love?
What the fuck?
Because this is a story.
Because after the really tumultuous relationship, I turned into a very detached, thick-skinned thing.
And then I met a really sweet guy and he just tried to lay everything out and I was like
Nah, I got to work. I got a this and this is really funny. Should I say this?
I fuck it
The we were when we started hanging out
Everything was cool, but I had just come out of this other fucking hell hole
So I knew better. I was like yeah, I'm not gonna fucking like chill. I'm not gonna fucking like chill
And we were hanging out and it had been a couple of months.
And then they said something about like a girlfriend or something.
And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
I'm like, dude, we got to, you know.
And then they looked at me and they're like, wait, what do you mean?
Like, we've already been hanging out this long and I've caught feelings.
Like, it's too late.
And I was like, what do you mean?
It's too late.
I'm like, let's do that.
He's like, nah.
He's like, I'm at the point that it's either all or nothing.
So we're either going to try this or we stop.
His motherfucker hit me with an ultimatum.
And he was a great guy and I liked him.
So I had conceded, which was a,
a mistake because then we were together for years and it sucked because he was
trying and I just wasn't ready I wasn't ready I was still healing I still had like
trauma to fucking get through my my my hierarchy of priorities was shit I wasn't even
in the top three I wasn't even in the top three that's crazy yeah so like he was
gonna be 17 yeah you know so that made it really difficult and then it took me
we were together for a couple years and then I went on my first
solo trip and I read this law this book called um the seven laws of divine compensation
and another book called return to love i think and uh it just put a lot of shit into
perspective oh no wait i got to wait okay so i was on tour right i was on tour in europe
and they were just on me about some shit which was normal it was normal that they wanted
relationship things, but I just wasn't providing because I was like work and this and that.
And I got upset at them because they were asking me for some shit and I was on tour and I was
like, you're trying to stress me about fucking mundane domestic shit when I'm trying to focus on
fucking moving mountains. So like, and it was my birthday week. I was like, you're doing too much because
and then, no, this is crazy. I hope I don't regret saying this. The you can tell you can tell
If we, yeah, okay, I'm gonna skip over that part.
Anyway, he, he was like, maybe we should go on a break.
Cause I had suggested that before and he was like, no, whatever.
Anyways, he said, maybe we should go on a break.
He said, maybe we should go on a break.
And in my head, I was like, perfect, perfect.
I need a break.
I need a break and I need a work and I need space.
This is perfect in my head.
But I didn't say it out loud, but I assumed that it was assumed
because I'm fried.
Because now in retrospect, I don't know why the fuck
I didn't just say, okay, great, let's go on a break.
I agree.
I just assumed the break started asap.
So I was like, left the message alone.
And then, and then I was on tour for a few more weeks, and then I got home, and then all
of a sudden it had been three weeks, and then all of a sudden it had been four weeks.
And then at four weeks, I finally went on my solo trip, red, got my shit together, and
I was like, oh, I'm fucking up.
Like, this guy's been consistent.
He's great.
He's got a good heart.
My family likes him.
Like, everything's cool.
And then I was waiting because I thought maybe he'd reach.
out and then fourth week came and nothing and then fifth week came and I was like, oh, strange.
Like, is this like like, like, what's the tone time?
What, anyways.
I'm like, strange.
And then the sixth week came and he didn't say nothing.
And I was like, huh.
And then I finally hit him up and I was like, okay, what's up?
Like, so are we doing this?
He's like, we're doing this?
He was like, Jesse, you ghosted me.
And I was like, what?
I was like, what do you mean?
I thought we were going to, he's like, you didn't fucking, you didn't say anything.
You didn't say anything.
You didn't confirm.
He's like, I thought you would just ghosted me.
I thought we were like, so he had already like moved on and and soothed his fucking bruises.
And I, yeah, and it was what it was.
And so then anyway, so then that we had been together for two and a half years at that point.
And then I spent about a year trying to mend it when I should have just respected it and been like,
because that hurt longer than it needed to.
And then during that year, obviously he wasn't perfect.
He was not perfect.
He also, there was also other reasons why I wasn't ready to like be everything that
he wanted me to be because there were things in him that were missing so that I couldn't
relax and be as submissive as I wanted to in that situation.
Anyway, but there were certain things that he would do that would piss me off.
And so then in an effort to like, I was also angry during that time because it felt like I
was begging for love from someone that should have or that did.
Yeah, it was, I think it was cope.
Hope.
Cope.
It was a little bit of cope as well.
But it was also true at the time because it felt like I was, and he, he had, he has, his Achilles
heel is that he's too kind and too nice where he should have just set the boundary and been
like, you know, but we would still communicate and we would still talk all the time and
we would still, you know, so it made it difficult.
Mm hmm.
Mm-hmm.
But he's good.
He's, he's, we haven't talked in a long time, but he's, we, I think we both under, yeah,
it's just, it's in the wind, it's in the past, I learned my lesson.
So I mean, he learned his and we grow and it just, we just, we just, we're just, we
wasn't we weren't meant for each other timing maybe yeah yeah no no I think yeah
because that insinuates like oh and no no I think it's in the wind in the wind in the wind that's a
good term mm-hmm close your eyes and you can hear the entire world come alive

I love the sounds.
The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans,
the announcers calling the place soccer, football, it's home.
Why do I watch the World Cup?
That's like asking me, why do I breed?
I inherited that fandom from my mom.
I like watching it with my dad.
It's a connecting force.
From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football,
a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots.
We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great.
A soccer game is a festival.
It's not just a game.
It's your culture.
I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my...
It is an American game.
The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though.
Are they the only ones that don't like that?
Nobody likes that.
As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer,

I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer. And that was more
difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for

guest so far. And now our good friend Nile Horn is joining the show.
How's it going boys? Hey, Niall. It's the same thing with slow hands.
Slow hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can be about food.
You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe.
Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcast.
That's not what I thought this song was about. I know, but he had bum qualities, like that fucking, like, go, go. He had bum qualities.
like wasn't as ambitious as me.
Uh-huh.
So why fuck are you playing video games when we should be like...
What fuck are you playing video games
that we should be talking about like making bread or like making movements?
So there were things that I was like,
this is whack.
I hate this for you.
Yeah.
Pretty good.
Yeah.
Made a good song.
Made a good song.
Made a great song.
I always love that lyric.
You, the fuck.
You make me feel like I'm asking for too much,
but maybe I'm asking the wrong one.
Yeah.
You were the wrong one.
You were the wrong one.
Yeah.
The fuck am I begging for love for.
Yeah.
I'm asking for a fish to fly.
The fuck.
What am I doing this?
It's so good.
And it's so fun at the concerts to watch everybody sing that song.
Yeah, they feel that one.
It goes.
It goes so good.
So if that was some of the inspiration of that album, what is the inspiration of this album coming?
Uh.
Is it the space that you were in or no?
I'm needing.
I could tell you through song.
I could tell you through song.
What song belongs to who?
On the album that's coming?
Oh, they have songs on this album still, those guys?
Does he have song?
Hold on.
I don't think, I don't think the video game player don't.
But the bomb from Couldn't Be Me, that is.
The bomb from couldn't be me that's.
He got another song on this album.
He got another song.
But the song, it's just like, fuck off.
It's one of those songs.
Does he know that these songs are for him?
I think so, but.
Who cares?
Who cares?
Yeah, who cares?
Fuck.
I love the song that's, I really like it.
I really like the song.
What is it called?
Fuck off.
It's called Dusty.
Oh, Dusty's good.
Dusty's good too.
Dusty's good.
It's good.
Oh my God.
Oh, I'm gonna go straight to that when I get the album.
I'm gonna go straight to Dusty.
Crazy. How can you get, yeah.
What?
I just don't appreciate having these sort of
blind spots because you're right.
I'm from if I'm astute everywhere else, why is my heart blind?
Doesn't make no fucking sense.
I don't think your heart is blind.
You're stupid.
No, I don't think you see it.
You're just making wrong decisions.
No, I think you.
There's a whole bunch of reasons why we make wrong decisions.
Sometimes we don't want it.
So we pick wrong to have an easy way out.
Also, I love that for me because I've also discovered that I have that like the
the avoid an attachment.
Yeah, you don't want it.
I don't want it.
I don't want it.
So I'm going to pick this guy because he's going to get an easy way
The first time I learned about that, I felt so attacked.
I felt so attacked.
Not under the table quo.
Oh my God.
When you first, for anyone, when you learn about, when you learn something that's so integral to you, that you've had your whole life that you didn't know you had, it's like, it's like living in a house for 30 years and then discovering that there was a bedroom next to your fucking bedroom.
That's what it feels like, I'm like, what the fuck?
I'm like, this is, this is what I'm doing.
This is what I'm doing because you're not wrong.
That's that that's also contributed.
Oh my God, when I learned about that, I was floored.
I felt so, I felt naked.
It's just so fucking spooky.
Yeah, but then the more you learn and the more you uncover,
then you make better choices.
Or you're just clearer.
Or you make the same choices, but you're clear about it.
But you're aware.
You're aware, at least aware.
Like, I don't really want something, so I'm just going to do this,
because this will be easy to get out of it.
At least you know it.
You can say it out loud to yourself.
And then you, it probably gives you less stress.
it's probably gives you less stress and less pain because you know what you did there as opposed to like
as opposed to being here are all the red flags but i'm going to get with him anyway and then then you're
brokenhearted because you fell in love but were you really in love though or was it just attachment
no that was i haven't felt that in years that was love that was that was i think that was
what is that to you love what does that mean oh my god i used to think that love was
was being willing to die for someone.
Years ago, I used to think that that was it.
I think maybe it's still part of it.
And then I came to the conclusion that maybe love is peace.
But then I read some, I can't remember what book it was,
but they were like, no, love is wanting to see someone reach their highest self
and reaching the best for someone else.
And that one reads, that one resonates for me.
Or I'm like, that's selfless, I want the best for you.
That's really selfless.
I think that's really beautiful.
And I kind of wanted that for him.
It was both. It was the passion and it was like, I want, it was best for you.
That's love.
Yeah.
Still a bum, but.
That's outward love.
That's how you love them, right?
How do you receive love?
How do I receive love?
Acts of service is my love language.
I love, acts of service is like, be competent and be of use, help me.
And that is, that shit makes me melt.
But that's so scary because then someone will suck everywhere else and then the
they do that, that's like the like 17 red flags, but they do that, I don't know, dinner and
well not no, well yeah, sure, clean my, yeah, that one. We're like, yeah, something like that.
Acts of service is my love language. So cute. What's your love language? What is my love language? You know,
oh, what are they again? What are the, what are they? It's gifts, acts of service, words of affirmation,
quality time and physical touch. Uh, quality time and words of affirmation. And words of affirmation.
No way. Quality time is my last one.
Not just time. I don't need a lot of time. I don't like a lot of time.
Yeah. But I like it to be intentional and quality and then words of affirmation because I like clarity.
Mm-hmm.
And so I don't I don't mean words of F. I don't need you to gas me. I don't need words of information.
You're so this, you're so this. I leave words of affirmation as this is what we're doing.
This is what we're doing.
Yeah.
You know what I mean? This is where you stand. This is where I see us going.
All of that is good for me.
it's good for me.
Mm-hmm.
That's nice.
Access service is cool.
Gifts, I don't really, I mean, I like gifts like anybody else, but it's not really a thing for me.
I love that one.
You love it?
Oh my God.
Yeah, it's the same.
Yeah, it's so, like, make my life easier.
Oh, that she makes me melt.
Yeah, I do like.
You can have it all.
Be competent and make my life easier.
And you're like, yeah, because.
I like it too.
That's nice.
You feel cared for.
Yeah.
I don't like fake acts of service.
I guess this is, I don't like do somebody doing,
I don't like performative acts of service.
Yeah.
And so maybe that's the, if they know, ooh.
Yeah, like if you profess that here on the show today,
and then some guy's like, hey, Jesse, I just cleaned your car.
Ew, I don't like, okay, yeah, yeah.
Disgusting.
It has to be, that's so funny,
but it's like we're telling people to go left and go right.
Like, do it, but do it only of your own volition
and pretend like you never let me say it.
Exactly.
Now you got it.

All right, IRL bowl time was Jesse Reyes.
Oh, this is all there is in here?
You've got a limited amount of questions.
Tough.
See if you get, this is our IRL bowl,
sent by Walden University.
The best kind of friend is someone
who doesn't make me feel guilty for fucking having a workaholic life
and, and,
Yeah, where you just, where you feel like you could just like take off your armor and just be and not feel guilty for the reason that every other relationship in my life suffers, which is like, you know, work a lot and keeping my head down and not being able to be there as much.
Because I don't think I'm the best friend that I could be. I could be a better friend for people. I could be a better everything for people if I made this side of my life suffer and took that time and applied it here.
But because my life hasn't been that, the few friends in my life that I have that are like,
understand my fear of commitment and understand my fear of like, I can't tell you that I'm going to come to this birthday party because if something switches with work, I'm going to have to do this.
When I don't feel guilty for that, that's such a, it's love.
It's understanding.
You're prone to feel guilty probably, right?
Oh my God is the worst.
And I hate holding that emotion because it permeates.
And then I try to compensate.
So now apart from failing, from achieving.
apart from failing from giving you that in the first place because I got to put all my time
over here now I got to take time from here and apply it to remedy what I couldn't even do the first
time over it sucks I hate that yeah but but I've got but I got really good friends in my life
that are that are that was a good question for you yeah all right in real life let's go
do these before you go.
Okay.
Speed round.
Okay.
It doesn't have to be a speed round, but it could be.
In real life, you are no longer available for.
What are you no longer available for?
Oh, fuck.
You just asked me for a speed round and look at me taking my time.
In real life, yes.
I am no longer available for doing shit I don't want to do.
Yeah, so I'm very general, but very valid.
In real life, one of you are your happiest?
In real life, I'm my happiest.
when I am with my loved ones, with my family, with my pup in the woods.
Yeah.
We're about to be there soon.
But what is there some type of emergency going on in our city?
Because this.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Is that what it was?
Yeah.
Does that what was happening?
Okay.
In real life, what was the last time you cried from gratitude?
In real life, the last time I cried from gratitude was today.
Today?
Yeah.
I was saying my thank you is because, um,
because people,
people have always been supportive, you know?
And like, it's not like the industry as a whole,
but like certain people.
And, yeah, I was just, I was just expressing that,
that I was really, really grateful to have had early support
because I know not everybody gets that.
Do you really believe in your soul that you're ready to retire?
I feel like I could.
Really?
Yeah, I feel like I could.
But I don't know.
But the thing is, like, I don't, I know I don't know.
I don't know, but I'm just tired.
I'm just tired.
I'm tired and I like, yeah, doing the inventory is, it's shitty because like,
it's not shitty.
It's just what, it's the way, it's the way my cars have been dealt.
But the reason, one of the, this has been so fruitful because all of my energy has gone there.
And then a lot of energy that could have been a lot of to other places, hasn't, you know?
So that's a little difficult to,
consolidate and what pushes me more towards being like, okay, well, I've done this many years,
so maybe the other sides of your life could take a bit.
What is the one thing you, if you could, if you could grab it right now and put the energy into it,
you know, is there a bucket?
Is there a hole or is there something that you would fill up first?
Yeah, probably family.
time.
From a girl who spends so much time with her family.
I know you've been on the road and that was that war on you, but in your life.
Well, yeah, because it's not just, my parents have had the ability to come on
row with me, but like everybody hasn't.
My nieces haven't.
My nephews haven't.
So my cousins, like, it's just not, you miss, you miss.
Again, I say this.
I say because it's a double-edged, so it's just two truths can exist at once.
I'm grateful.
I know I'm an outlier.
I know this is like, you know, but it costs, but it costs you.
And there's a lot of shit you miss, especially if you're like bowed it and you're like,
all right, I'm giving it all because, because I go, because I work because I like, I go.
But it costs you.
And it doesn't cost the same for every, it doesn't cost the same for everybody else.
I understand that like, okay, well, but like there's people on the road.
with you and there's people that also tour on you
and there's people on your team
and there's people on like yeah but the price is not the same.
As you said earlier,
when you're like you're creative, it's all the time,
it's there all the time and then you become a product.
And I don't wanna sound, it's crazy
because as I'm saying it, there's another side of me
that's like, you're crying in a castle.
You're crying in a castle.
And I know that it's difficult for anyone
that hasn't been in my shoes to empathize
with the feeling that I have.
And I know that it sounds ungrateful
and I know that it sounds like privilege,
and I know that and I know that but it's but I'd be but I'd be doing a disservice to
myself if I didn't hold space for where my emotions have landed about it and an
understanding that it's like everything has a cost everything has a price and this price hurts like
it's not it's not something that's been easy and yeah yeah just not something that's been easy
i don't think you sound that way at all no thank you sound very grateful and very self-aware and like
It's not, you're not complaining about frivolous shit.
Yeah.
You just want to tap into your soul and your family and your, the things that fill you up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think you're going to be okay.
I do.
I think you're going to be okay, B'uble.
Oh my God, today's going to be so rough.
I just said that exact same sentence to me and I started crying to you.
I think you're okay.
I was like, hallelujah.
Oh, you sent you were with Ebro.
I love Hebrew. He loves you too.
That's hilarious. That's why I was crying because as soon as it was ever, I was like,
thank you for supporting me. Thank you for like contributing. We've known each other for so many
years now, which is even crazy to say, but like, yeah, I'm just, I'm very, I'm grateful.
Because as much as it's been difficult also, there's been so many beautiful things that have like,
yeah, it's been, it's been wild. This thing in your hand. Let me see it. The other one,
this is a tat, yeah? It's a tat. Yeah, my dad drew it on tour like a couple tours ago.
We need to get a shot of the two.
It's a reminder.
The smile, bitch.
I have it so when I'm pissed, I can look at it.
I kind of want to bite it.
I kind of want one.
It helps.
It's served because I'll be in the bathroom being like,
and then I'll look down and it's like,
Would it be weird if I got one a little bit?
No, it wouldn't be weird.
Would he give stalkery a little?
Like, would it give like?
Absolutely not.
It's for, it's for your benefit.
Okay, I want it.
All right.
I'm gonna do it good I'm gonna get one I have this is mine is the similar because it brings
you it reminds you just like yeah because also it's like if you if I wave to somebody it's there it's
like oh hilarious like protect yeah it's like protective and it's just yeah it's this I don't know
well anyway similar in real life what are you what are you most proud of about yourself in real life
I'm most proud of staying real.
Yeah.
And it's not even, it's, it's a, it's a,
it's a seed I didn't even plant, but I'm proud of it.
My mom planted that.
Your mom?
Yeah, yeah. She was always like, just let me be me.
Let me be me.
And also as a, I've said this before, like as a woman,
also Latina, like there's a lot of, you know,
she should be in a dress.
or like her hair should be done or like her nails aren't done or like just you know there's a lot and she
just did this and like shielded me from it and then took it herself because I know it wasn't easy
to feel all that and hear all that but like didn't project it onto me just was like be yourself
and that is such a fucking gift especially as an adult because I see it's it's I just had it as a child
and I was able to like nurture and watch it grow but I know I
It sucks. I see people that struggle to like be themselves or see people that struggle to like be transparent or walk in their truth or like, you know.
So I think I'm most part of that. Yeah. You should be. Thank you. Thank you. And we'll end with my favorite IRL question, which you use the word divine, right?
If God were to text you right now today, Jesse, if he would to text you right now on your phone, what would it say?
What would he say?
Mm-hmm.
What a question?
Wow.
What would it say?
What would it say?
Like if today came the text from God today.
I feel like the divine is wholeness and love.
And so maybe it would be a reminder of like that.
Maybe it would be something like, you're going to be okay.
You know, maybe it would be something like that.
Imagine, don't cross the street on six and seventh because you're going to fucking break a leg.
Like something crazy.
But yeah, I think maybe it would be,
it would be something that would reflect what I,
what my version of God is and my version of God is not something,
someone, some essence that's like judgmental or just,
it's just wholeness, it's wholeness.
Maybe it would just be a heart emoji.
Yeah.
Or that.
Yeah, or a little, yeah, who knows,
maybe it would just be like a little smile.
What a, what a sick question?
What would yours be?
Today?
Oh, I have to think about it.
today. I got you. I got you. That's beautiful. That can make me get a little. I love that.
That's so beautiful. Oh my God. I'm always like I'm in the middle of like a lot of different
things in my life right now moving, changing, switching. I'm just like in the middle of a lot.
And so my prayer is usually around like I trust you to show me, lead me, help me to be in my
purpose and so when I if I can just trust it's usually okay because I'm usually
guided in the right way amen so that's why I think amen right now he'd probably
remind me that he got me sick there's so much weight that she or she yeah so
much weight that leaves when you let God like just like God drive right like I drive
yeah like I lead like oh Jesus take the wheel there's so much weight that gets
alleviated in faith I love that I love that love that love you
Love you.
I can't wait to do this again after you take a big hiatus.
I hope I got a big hiatus and you're going to come back and your album will have been out and done really well and you'll be refreshed and you'll have a new perspective and new things you want to share and you'll be bright-eyed and rested and bushy-tailed and I can't wait.
And bushytailed if I come back and I make another fucking song or I start crying about a bum, Angie, I'm going to be fucking pissed.
I'm going to be fucking pissed.
Oh, my God.
That better not be it.
I can't wait.
I can't wait to see whatever evolution comes.
Yeah, it's in God's hands.
It's not up to me.
It's in God's hands.
