Yo, I'm telling you, bro, I was in the black get out.
I'm going to walking up in there.
I'm like, yo, this is incredible.
I couldn't believe it.
I was walking around for like a week telling people,
yo, I never seen this before.
Like, nowhere in the world.
Now that you told this story for me,
it's like Jordan Piel, you've got to do this shit now.
Because I always wondered what happened with all the people that they took over.
Yeah, where they're at?
Where they're at?
It was in that.
In Kevin Law's house.
In Kevin Lowe's house.
Yeah, yeah.
What up, y'all, this Joe Crack the dawn.
You know who is.
It is your boy Jada.
You know what it is.
The Joe and Jada show,
every show legendary.
Every show iconic.
Mm-hmm.
Got that Hermes shit on.
You know what I mean?
Don't try this shit at home, man.
Don't try that Hermes shit at all.
But anyway,
anyway, it's iconic, it's legendary.
When you think of today's guests,
because we, we're the biggest.
My brother said he got the numbers.
We're the number one.
Number one.
We're slaying these.
We don't know where he got the numbers from.
Listen,
empirical data,
but we haven't even introduced them yet
to start our shit.
I'm ready.
When you think of today's guests,
you think about one of the most consistent voices
in comedy over the last decade
from the stand-up stage to the big screen.
He's built a career of real-life stories, sharp timing,
and the ability to make almost anything funny.
He's that rare comedian who can steal scenes and movies,
headline his own specials,
and now step behind the camera as a director and executive producer.
You know what I mean?
Chicago bread, industry respected.
and always authentic
bringing that energy
into a whole new lane
with his latest project
ladies and gentlemen
welcome little around
to the way
damn
first of all I'm playing that
before all my shows
now you know what I'm saying
that's what it was meant
like you have Jada kiss
intro and like
that is like
I'm over here cheesieze
man call me for something man
Fannie reunion
in the cookout.
Just let me intro, son.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Just, y'all got to understand,
the young thing and me watching MTV
and you on the rooftop.
How?
Doing we gonna make it.
Yeah.
And you just introed me is fucking in sex.
Yeah, I'm trying to have to smile.
You know, I stole Jim Jones talked about me really good
and I put it on the new single.
He was like, no, no, he didn't do the sin.
I'm talking about we took his voice and threw it on the single
on the point you asked me about.
You ever seen Fat Joe big pun to me?
Like sometimes them intros
They go a long way
You know, I met Tyler Perry the other day
I was like, I did too much
What you do?
Like, you know, I've been waiting to meet Tyler Perry
Forever. He had the Jay-D show
I'm like, yo, my man, let's get money.
What are we talking about?
Yo, we say,
when can I come down to Atlanta
to the compound?
Look at that motherfucker was spooked off.
You're on Fat Joe.
Get away for this motherfucker.
I'm doing too much.
He was like, I would be right back.
He didn't know you was okay.
Oh, fat Joe, I'll be right back.
That's what he said.
I've been right back.
He had two secret services.
He had two secret services with.
He keeps security with him.
He should.
Oh, no, you got to.
And he keeps like his, because he's a tall guy.
And his guys, too.
It was the same height as.
Yeah, let me ask you a question is,
no, I don't want to be disrespectful.
I don't want to be disrespectful.
But, like, when you got security, like,
Do you want smaller guys, paws or bigger guys?
Like, how about this?
My daughter told me today, yo, we used the security for us.
She was like, it got too little, dad.
Like, I'm moving through the crowd.
I don't know.
He said, I'm moving through the crowd.
I need a big boy to be like, yo, you got to move.
I don't know.
I don't have security, but I would like a small agent lady with a special set of skills.
You said a small Asian lady?
You don't even think she's, you think,
Yon, give me no flags.
You think she's my Nelson line, ladies.
Yo, I got no flags.
This shit choppy right in the throat.
Yo, I don't have no flags.
I'm saying?
You think that's a flag?
I have a, yes.
More Asian lady with a special set of skills.
You don't see her coming.
I like that.
You don't even know she's with.
You think she.
Michael Jordan had like, if you remember,
his security was that old black guy.
Like, dude was like super old.
You got Navy Seals now.
That's what I'm saying.
I really have a old black man.
I ain't got Navy Seals with him.
Yeah, y'all got to find flags.
This shit is disrespect.
Y'all can throw flags at me.
I can't throw flags.
The one time I want to throw a flag?
Small Asian ladies, man.
Small Asian ladies, not a flag.
With a special set of skills.
With a special set of skills.
Now, if he would have just said, small Asian lady and left it at that.
Bro, when I went to jail,
it was an older Chinese guy over Asian man.
right? He was doing push-ups with his fingertips.
Push-ups, like real push-ups and burpees and all that shit.
I just knew he will fuck somebody up if they ever fronted on him in there.
They never fronted on him.
One Asian dude doing push-ups with his fucking fingers, I said,
yo, this guy fuck a motherfucker up.
Was that in the hole this there?
No, no, jail.
Like jail.
He was in there.
Every day he worked out with two fingers.
smooth. He was doing
push-ups with fingers
on his fingers. They had another dude. He was
like from the islands. That
motherfucker looked like a ninja turtle.
Old nigger.
70-12 packed up.
He don't talk to nobody. He just
work out all day.
Wait, what's the old rapper that's
still swole? He always still having this shit up.
Meli-Mal.
Meli-Map. That's my
OG.
Billy Bell's still like
Yeah, cox diesel.
Like, it don't look like he work out in no gym.
It's like he, like, outside just picking up shit.
No, no, he's working out.
But we're not in a real gym, though.
60 years old.
That's what I'm saying.
That's not a regular, like, I'm going to the gym and being around other people.
That's the outside gym.
Years of lifting all kinds of shit.
Right.
He was lifting weights, he was lifting weights, barrels of cement, mattresses.
We had a guy in our hood.
He wasn't cocked diesel, but he was big.
His name was Rhino.
that Rhino smoked that angel dust
and we would gas him
he would pick up a car
no bullshit
the little cars
he'll pick up a Honda
accord
like come on Rhino
come on Rhino
he's off the dust
but no money
nobody offered no money to do it
like money nothing
I used to pay this dude
yo y'all niggas
yo let me see
I was pretty much the devil
at one point
we had a guy named
Chagito used to jump
out the four floor window
in the project
Chagito
and I'd be like, Chakito, I got a dollar.
We're thinking he going to die.
The nigga jumping out four floors.
He laying down on his feet.
Boom, Chagito would give him a dollar.
We was trying to make him die, literally.
Like, come on, jump out, Chahito.
Jump out.
He would jump out the four-floor window.
He just waved the dollar.
He jumped out.
Dollars big time in the hood.
Trying to make him die.
It's fat.
What we wanted.
What we wanted, we, what, you,
think we wanted.
We was like gassing him
to jump out the fourth floor window.
What if he died?
It already been fucked up.
Because Chagito, I watched him
get hit by a car one time.
Car hit him. Boom. This is the only time I seen
the car hit somebody. Hit him that
that nigga flew all the way in the air
so big. Everybody was like,
Chagito!
We thought he was dead. He hit the floor.
Everybody was like,
stay down.
That didn't got up.
Brush that shit.
and ran off.
That's crazy.
Everybody who had got that person.
We had a guy named Johnny Cash,
you had a big-ass calf muscles.
And he used to just walk around
interrupting people's conversations.
So if you were having a car,
he'd just come,
uh-huh,
just for no fucking reason.
You could be having a full-blown conversation
with somebody and he just interrupted that shit.
That was his thing to come into that.
He'd do that shit,
and he'll make any, like,
like, I remember Ryanstone Cowboy.
I didn't know that was a country song
because the way he sang it was real social.
He had his own.
He had his own
He had his own
He had his own
He had his own
Cowlestone Cowboy
Cowboy
You know
It'd be like
Damn
I thought it was like
I didn't know
That bitch on B
huh?
It's not like
The Supree's was thinking
that shit
When he was saying
Man
Let me tell you stuff
But you wouldn't know
That uh
Whitney Houston
Got that joint
From Dolly Parton
Well I will always love
You right
I will always love you
She got that shit
From Dolly Parton
Whitney Houston
And so, you know, that music is, you know, you can flip it any which way.
So I'm in Chicago, right?
And the big movie comes out.
And I happen to be at the radio station promoting one of my songs.
Man, these people were so proud of you, bro.
They were bragging about you live on that air.
Like, I barely got to say, yo, I have a song out.
Like, they were like, yo, little well, he's on fire out here.
he's in the movie, this and this and that.
I can never forget you're from Chicago.
The way they put it down for you.
What was it like growing up in Chicago?
From New York, we assume a very dangerous place.
Right.
You don't have to assume.
Chicago, I mean, I'm from the west side of Chicago.
You know, most people always are about the south side, but I'm from my west switch.
Which is...
Which is common from?
South South South.
And you from the west side?
The west side would be like...
You're by the Puerto Rican to the Mexicans.
Oh, Lupe, he's telling us
Lupe Fiasco is from the west side
Cushal Conflict is from the west side of Chicago
I think Dewa dies from out west
I'm not sure, but like, yeah
You want to ride in the backseat
That McAddy
Manette.
Damn, see.
That shit was real back then, boy.
You know, my shit, the Houston,
the nigger, the niggas say,
oh, what's the Houston, the big boy from Houston?
He passed away.
Well, how does song go?
Oh, that's shit, the Cadillac, right?
Oh, me and Big Pomp play that's want to be a baller.
Shot caller, 20-inch days.
Jolese, go to be a highway.
Votechur-Jur-Bahway.
I just out of it.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
That's funny.
It's certain people who didn't know how to sing, and they could just be on the chorus.
And they didn't know.
He's one of them.
Oh, no.
one out the park. That shit is a legendary
Texas classic right there.
That's crazy. Chacola.
20 years later, we sing in the words.
That's legendary shit.
You already know when it's a real moment,
you need a real bottle.
That's why we rock with 1800 tequila.
You heard me?
These people were making tequila for 11 generations.
That's right, 11.
That's a legacy.
That's OG status.
OG.
They were the first.
First to introduce a nejo set the standard before most of these brands even existed.
And you could taste the difference for real.
The 1800 Cristolino and Repasado was what we've been on lately.
Smooth, clean, elevate.
No burn, no rough edges, just a premium paw that speaks for itself.
You know when it's something that's just built right?
That's what this is.
Real talk, that's just what it is.
It's always around for the best nights.
the celebrations to remember that night story.
Whether you're keeping it low-key with the crew
or you're pulling up to a big event,
1800 fits every setting.
It ain't trying too hard.
It's just that.
1800 tequila, real legacy, real smooth.
That's the move.
True, true, true.
One.
I mean, it's funny because you brought up,
do it, like, do or die with,
do you want to write?
Like, it was certain songs at that time
was just a good car riding song.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, people had the astro vans and shit.
You know what we need up here is A-BOR MJG.
Ooh.
Those are my guys.
I was signed to the same record label and stuff.
These dudes was hard, yeah.
Oh, whoa.
I was up because I got lucky.
I'm on relativity.
They got Rashi, they got common.
Yeah.
Right?
They got Bone Thugs.
So I got Cleveland.
They got the Dayton family.
You don't know about the Dayton family.
Don't tell me the Dayton family.
They're from Dayton, Ohio.
You don't know about them.
They got A-Bore MJG.
They got MacDray.
So I'm a Bronx kid
and I'm listening to all this other shit.
And I'm like, yo, these guys is putting this shit down out here.
Like, but New York was so stuck on New York.
They wouldn't think past all the shit.
I was accessible to it just being on relativity records, man.
You got Tony Swave House, Tony Draper.
But you know, so, Joe, it's funny you say, like, because it's Chicago, right?
Like, all of us that liked, you know, like, I was a big Wu-Tang fan growing up.
So, like, in Chicago, they were out here come to, they called us New York niggas.
Oh, shit.
For liking Wu-Tang.
For liking New York hip-hop.
Yeah, it was like, oh, yeah, them know.
Because that, that's time, like, Massa P, bone, thud, that's everything that everybody's listening to it.
And it's like, you walking around, we had our book bags on and shit.
Like, I was a crazy.
insane
woutain fan
which is why
by the time
I got cool
with these
niggas
it still
blew
motherfucker
but I hung out
with a ghost
face
in a lobby
all-star
a weekend
was in Chicago
that year
me and this
nigga hung out
in the lobby
and drink
champagne
for hours
fire
and nobody
kicked this out
like we
both in
I had my
little fur coat
though
I was hanging out
I'm like
I'm going out
with Tony
Starks
with a
fucking furrow
drinking champagne
in a lobby
he wasn't
even a
place you hang out
in the
Loutin
Woutin even me
I started with Boutet
So when I had my first song, Flojo, they had their first song now.
And we was getting $500 a show.
Like, I'm there watching the promoter give me $500, giving $13,500.
They must have bought chicken min nuggets after that shit, right?
But even to this day, when I get around them, they feel like superheroes to me.
I don't, I, there's something about Wu-Tang that they just can't do no wrong to fat Joe.
like I look at each and every one of them
as if they're superheroes.
They're the greatest rap group to me of all time.
Like it's never, it's an all-star team.
And no disrespect to nobody else shit.
You know what I mean?
The locks was great.
Yeah, it's hard to say, though.
But Wu-Tang had a bunch of people.
It's like, it's hard to compare to anything.
Like, when you think about the song Triumph
and all those verses on there,
it's not to me time if you've seen some shit like that.
outside of like,
niggas making like a
safe neighborhood
song like same gang
and something.
They got real Wutang fans.
What you said,
I didn't catch,
I didn't catch.
I was saying,
I said,
safer neighborhood.
So like,
we're all in the same game.
Yeah,
yeah,
if it wasn't that type of shit.
It was like Woutang
was the only group
to consistently make
several songs
with all these niggas on there.
And they come out
with the cousins
and all that shit.
Master priest,
this one and that one.
It was like
a thousand Woutain
niggins.
And they had,
They had to do...
Yo!
No!
Everybody, Wu-Tang!
The other day we did that,
I'm gonna tell you something
that I'm guilty of.
The other day we did the Knicks parade.
So we won the chip.
First parade in 53 years.
And...
Congrats.
Thank you, brother.
So the Knicks gave me my own flow.
I don't know why.
Right?
So I do not deserve it.
Who's on your flu?
We have Wooten.
The Lenton.
Lots, Mar-Dee, Mary J, Tiana Taylor, Young Mime.
We had the world.
I brought everybody with me.
Right?
Only had one guy, rich player.
Everybody else was just hip-hop royalty.
And when they said, y'all, Wu-Tang got to come on the float.
I said, I would love for Wu-Tan to come, but it's not the cousins, right?
It's the names of the guys, the real Wu-Tang.
You know what I mean?
You guys up there, Wu-Tang?
Like, oh.
It's a, it's, because they had, there's a colony of them.
They had killer army.
They had, like, I was, I was a woo fan, so I bought all that shit.
Little Shaim.
You know who did it to?
The bone thugs had Motugs.
Ken dog, Felicia, all that they.
Mootugs, Mootugs sold five million Brett.
The boys.
So imagine the locks is popping.
And you're like, yo, these are my cousins?
Five million.
Like, the cousins sold five million.
like bone thugs was so influential
they were like oh shit
both thugs they gotta be good
they didn't have them at they
so I went to see the verses
between three six mafia
but I was actually there
I was there too in LA
man that shit was crazy
I actually introduced that shit
I had great seats but I saw all that shit
and it was funny watching them
was the intense is it
it was because Busybone was kind of like
you know what I mean
like they had to bring out some little kid
to stay next to her.
I don't know if that was his kid.
That's probably his son.
His son looked like Elder Barge.
Maybe that's what he was.
It was crazy.
His son, beautiful.
Got the long hair,
nothing like Elda Bar.
His Busybone was losing his mind, man.
He was like,
you know.
What happened?
Come on.
Come on.
What did I do?
He sends me a video
the other day of his kids.
They got a new.
puppy. I thought this kid's
beautiful with the puppy. What's wrong with that?
I don't like dogs.
So how do I get a flag
from saying busy bone sun is beautiful?
I'm really
confused right now.
Do I just get a flag because of the
current weather or some shit?
It's going to rain today?
Give it a fly.
It's all shit out of control.
But all you also
call it, Elda barge beautiful too?
Or that's the way the flag
you're going to
That's nice.
That's dumb up on the ballast
that's coming out of Secret Garden
That man had the game on life.
Can I ask him something?
Yes.
I wasn't shooting get out.
Get out.
Oh, man.
Maybe one of the best movies I've seen it.
One of the greatest fucking movies
ever created.
It makes me feel like that shit really happened.
I mean...
No, I wasn't get out.
Very believable.
No, no, I could tell you my version
to get up again.
I'm telling you.
Well, hold on.
I wouldn't hear this, though.
But, but, so we shot in Alabama, too.
Wow.
So, like...
I give it the more.
We literally all...
It felt like we...
You went to the hotel
that you hear the shit
when you walk in it.
Yeah.
When I first met Daniel for the first time,
he was coming down
as long-ass hallway at the hotel.
And I...
So, we even met yet.
And I was scared of this thing.
Because he was like,
what the fuck is a nigga
with this workout?
I should know, walking fast as fuck towards me, right?
It felt like Jordan did that on purpose
put us up in this hotel that was creepy,
the city was creepy,
so we all hung out with each other the whole time.
Nobody wanted to go anywhere by ourselves.
It was kind of crazy.
That's, yeah.
In modern time.
Yeah, it was scary to shoot the movie.
It's like using the movie within the movie.
My version to get out was my neighbor's Kevin Liles,
and Kevin Lowe's big music.
He announced he had just did a deal for like 400 million or something.
And he calls me, I'm topless.
I'm in my house, topless and shit.
You know Puerto Rican, you call him Puerto Rican on the phone, FaceTime, he topless.
That thing ain't got no shirt on in the house.
He just ain't got one.
I mean, you can say shirtless.
I'm topless.
I'm watching.
I'm chilling.
He's like, yo, bro, we celebrate and come next door.
So I'm like, yo, man, you know how top this is shit.
I'm already good.
He know, I'm his neighbor.
I can get butter from him.
Salt, whatever.
I'm like, yo, I'm good.
Now I come through.
Russell Simmons, everybody's here.
This is all right.
Put a shirt on.
I go next door.
I'm walking this.
Now you have to understand.
I'm not exaggerating.
I grew up in the 90% black neighborhood.
Then my grandmother lived in the 99% black neighborhood.
So I want to say it's fair enough to say I grew up with all type of black people.
I walk in their house.
It was the get out of black people.
They just was called Phoebe Wallenford, the third people.
I'm like, yo, where they find these people?
I felt like I was in the black get out.
I'm up in this shit
I'm like, yo, what he said?
The motherfuckers looking weird
and shit, it looked like Martha's Vineyard.
Okay, so let me tell you something.
That's not the black version to get out.
You walked into like
Lakeith's character that, you know,
the white people were winning his brain.
So you were in the house full of the motherfuckers.
Holy shit.
I've never seen this before.
Took over the body.
I've been to everywhere you can think of.
I'm walking.
It's Kevin Liao's house.
I'm walking through her.
I'm like, yo, this shit, weird.
The way they set,
the whole, I see, yo, what the fuck is Kevin doing with these?
Because they're not like us.
It's the weirdest shit you ever seen in your life.
But crack, you know what's crazy?
I always thought if it was a sequel, that's what would happen.
Like, we would, like, go to the house that white people took over the brains.
And they all in the room.
Yo, Kevin Liles' house.
They got the scar.
I'm telling you, I went to the real one.
You never see people like this.
I'm telling you.
You never, I said,
like, yo, Keb, I go to the back,
Yo, what the fuck is all these weird dudes
in your fucking house and shit?
Yo, that's the sequel, bro.
Yo, I'm telling you, bro.
I was in the Black Get Out.
I'm going to walking up in there.
I'm like, yo, this is incredible.
I couldn't believe it.
I was walking around for like a week telling people,
yo, I've never seen this before.
Like, nowhere in the world.
Now that you told this story for me,
it's like, Jordan Peel,
you've got to do this shit now.
because I always wondered what happened
with all the people that they took over.
Yeah, where they're at?
Where they at?
In Kevin Law's house.
In Kevin Loud's house.
Yo.
I'm telling you I was confused.
I walk in there, I'm like, yo, this is my name.
You know, Kevin Loud, you know.
I wake up.
He'll wake me up.
He'll be in my pool with a fucking six pack of beers.
Like, yo, I'm in your pool.
Like, we really neighbors.
He'd be in that
Topless, right?
He's Topless.
He's topless.
He's in the pool.
Was all the weird black people topless?
No, no, no.
They had like
Phoebe Wallingford.
They're eating this shit with,
like, nah, this shit was
Get out, the black version, bro.
No, I'm walking up in there.
I'm confused.
You just said the sequel.
That is the sequel to it.
I am confused.
That's crazy.
I walk up.
in there, I'm like, yo, where these people?
I don't know.
I know every black person.
I've been Compton, Alabama,
anywhere you could be in the world,
the blackest of America, Africa.
I never seen people like this.
Walk up in there, I'm like,
yo, what the fuck?
I love it.
Who are these guys?
That's crazy.
Phoebe Wallaford, the third?
Nick, I went in the back.
I see your family.
Who's these people with your house?
But you really just pitch,
get out, too.
Like, that's fucking crazy.
I swear to go.
I turn it into something.
I'm here.
I'm just.
Jordan Tim.
Oh, man.
We've ever seen no shit like that.

The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere too, right?
What do you think it is now?
It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of, uh,
technology. Danny McBride.
He loves
Oh, that's fantastic.
And you make it on, you make your own.
That's great.
I call him Terro Reed.
It's a good name.
They're all named after cast members of American Pie.
Yeah.
I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this,
but I call him Leachy Sobiesky.
I don't think she was an American Pie, but I still like that.
Haven't looked it up.
She was prominent around the same time.
Yeah.
Then Mary Steenbergin.
Why are you guys talking to me?
I'm worried.
You're talking so down to me
that you think I don't understand
your little play game.
I just really
I get it.
I'm trying to set you up for success here.
Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the
I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Comedy, are you like
funny all the time?
Two things. A double question.
Just for all comments.
Yeah. It always feels like
your life is dark in real life.
Right? These guys
commit suicide, they go through a lot of shit.
It just seems like the therapy is comedy.
Right?
And so with my history, and I like to laugh,
so my history of studying comedians is like it comes from a dark place and the humor.
And is everybody, like, are you working on us now?
No.
Because I feel like all the comedians, they practice,
stay shit on me all the time.
Everybody different, right? I know it. Like, y'all know
Mike Epps, right? Like, Mike is
always funny. Like, he always
home. It's just what it is. And you got
comics who's like that. And then, like, if you're around, like,
a Chris Rock, who's super cheer.
You know what I'm saying? That's a great.
That's a great
distinction right there. He always
super chill. So I'm a lot,
like, I don't do, I don't have
to do my stand-up from a dark place, which is,
you know, look, legislatively you think about Richard
Pryor, like, the things he went
through is kind of what shaped him as a comic
and his humor.
But at the same time, like, I know,
it's a balance of both.
Like, I've used comedy, like,
fences, like I, my dad passed in January.
So I've been working on the next special
just dedicated to him.
So I went to Chicago maybe a couple months ago
and headlined a club for the weekend
and literally talked about putting my dad's funeral together,
like everything.
And it was, so it's therapy at the same time,
but you can find humor in the truth.
Because the thing about it is at the end of the day, comedy always shows the fuck up.
Like, I don't care what's going.
Like, even when I was playing at his funeral and I'm at the funeral home and something funny
it happened, I'm like, what the fuck comedy?
Even though my saddest shit, it just shows the fuck up.
Well, you got to have comedy.
You mean, even if when you used to see the greatest mafia films where the motherfucker was like,
do I look funny?
What's funny like to you?
This, like, Yuma, I did this movie with Mac 10 out in L.A.
thicker than water back in the days.
And he had this guy,
and this guy had to be the funniest dude.
He's one of the gangs,
because you know, he's the gang,
and he was the funniest dude
and one day somebody tried him.
He said, well, you trying me?
This was the funniest night's guy.
He said, you ain't never gang banging your life,
nicked. Who you trying?
He wound up pounding the dude out,
pause, beating him up, middle of the street.
and I was like, damn, this is the funny guy.
They took him for, they thought because he was funny,
they took him for granted.
That's also true too, Craig.
Like, it's just because somebody do comedy
and you still don't know where they're from,
you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
That don't mean they won't put hands and feet on it.
Oh, he put super hands and feet on him.
He said, oh, wait a minute,
you think because I tell jokes, that was it.
I'm telling you, I never forgot it in my life.
He said, oh, you think because I tell jokes
and I be laughing.
He said, you ain't never gang bang in your life.
Shit out of him.
And did he, when he stopped, did he just start joking around again,
act like he didn't do it?
He was always just a funny dude and everybody always needs a funny dude.
Like, I don't know what, every crew needs the dude.
Like, Big Pum was our like, that's not about to say,
MCs, yeah, like between the punch lines y'all do and all that's a, yeah.
Like, most of my friends have been rappers.
like they're some of the funniest people I know.
Yeah.
Like for real.
Because the best rappers use humor like Biggie, black and ugly as ever.
However, Coochie down, you know, his pun was witty.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you know, the eye tub popping.
But he's funny too.
The best rappers are funny.
They got some type of humor to it.
I mean, New York love me like when Mitch hit a three free throw.
Who the fuck thinking about that?
Niggas don't, Miss can't hit a free throw.
but that's humorous.
The greatest lyricists have always
you, Snoodong.
Oh, man.
I have re-fell in love with the chronic album.
I keep saying this to everybody here.
He just, oh, he's, he, oh, you know,
and I'm like, yo, this guy,
how can I hear this three years?
30 years later and find it funny.
That's the hell.
They're going to bam, pan, pan, bam, pan, pan.
And it was like, all right, guess the game.
He was like, this shit,
Yeah, yeah, 20 seconds.
Things to fuck, bitches, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I start laughing like this brand new.
Like I heard it for the first time.
I might have heard it a billion times.
That's funny.
You is funny.
This Dave Chappelle show, right?
I could never, let me ask you that question, right?
Because it happens to me, right?
So if I make music, so I create music,
and in order to make music, make hits,
you gotta like it.
Yeah.
Right?
So I'm playing like a record I made
that I think so dope
and I play this shit 20, 30 times a day
and at a point it gets to the point
where I can't even enjoy it no more
because I heard it so much
and now I'm hearing it like
I don't hear it the same way.
Does that happen to you?
It doesn't happen to anybody
if you keep playing something
two, two, two, two, two, two.
That happens in like,
Like when you, like, I mean, not like that,
but like the movie is the one I just directed.
Like you,
I looked at it so many times to the point I'm not sure about certain things anymore.
You can't be in the moment no more.
I can't be in the, right?
That's when you start sending it to people, right?
You're like, hey, I need you to look at this because I don't,
I'm too married to it now.
Because I never,
the point I'm trying to make is I never could enjoy the Dave Chappelle show
because I was too busy thinking who the fuck wrote this shit.
It was so funny to me that I'd be like,
this guy had to be on dope.
Like, how did he think of this shit?
Like, who's on the drugs?
Like, this shit, the shit he was doing had me just bugging out.
Like, yo, what the fuck?
Somebody's crazy to think about this shit.
I mean, that's why I loved about the Charlie Murphy stories, man.
Like, Charlie was just so, like,
he was so real about it.
And you knew he was serious, but he was, like,
we were talking about the gangster guy.
Like, he was hysterical, though.
that's who I think Charlie represented too more than anything.
Like he represented those cats that was just funny that you knew.
Like them tough niggas that was just the funniest dude you knew.
And that's who Charlie Murphy really was.
You know what I'm saying?
He wasn't a quote-unquote professional comedian,
but he was a funny motherfucker from your crew.
Yeah.
That, man, let me tell you something.
That shit fact.
Without trying, though.
It was just like, you know, because when you hear stories like,
man, just being around Charlie, like I have,
like it was certain stories.
he would just tell about just hanging out with Eddie.
It's like, we didn't even get all the stories.
Like, if you ever hung out one, he was like, dude.
I mean, one time he told me,
he told me he got high as fucking went to the Bronx
and started kicking niggins in the chest.
And I'm like, why the fuck was you doing that?
He was like, man, I was walking to him.
Like, bam!
Bowers, niggas.
I'm like, okay.
And I don't even know why he was telling me this shit.
Nah, he just for him.
His story, Charlie Murphy, was crazy.
And I know a guy, I can't say the name, I can't do the who.
No, no, I know a champion boxer who told me that he wears hoodies and a mask on,
and he'll go to a local gas station for no reason to knock the nigga out.
It's pumping the gas.
He said, yo, I love his shit, Joe.
I just pull up in the gas station with the pool shi-shy hoodie on,
a nigger pumping gas.
I just knock them out.
Swear to my mother.
legendary boxer
told me this shit
I don't know why they tell me stuff like this
I didn't ask him for it
is he
how old is he that
this nigga hit you
it's like a truck at you
you just abbreviate
you try to figure this shit out
that motherfucker still knocked you out
he's crazy because he told me that
he said yo Joe I just pull up in the gas
station hoodie mask
some nights and I just knock a nigga
out. And this shit don't make the news or nothing.
No.
No, he never got caught, obviously.
But not caught, but it should be like a news story.
Like, yo, it's a serial.
Knock a nigga out guy.
At the gas station, be careful.
We probably get it.
As Vegas, we on the lookout for a serial knock a nigga out guy.
That shit crazy.
Huh?
Yo, I'm telling you.
Man, so I ain't a weirdest shit.
How are you like being my hunting camp?
I love director.
And like, this is my thing now.
You know what I'm saying?
Like I took advice from Ava Duviney and Sean Levy,
who I did Frey Guy with,
he does stranger things.
But Ava was like, yo, real,
like, it's an opening in a way for comedy directors.
Like, most people are direct,
they're direct comedies,
but nobody's like saying,
like, I'm going to be a comedy director.
And she, like, it's actually an open lane for that.
And I'm like, you know, something you write.
So that's why I met with it.
I want to, like, keep direct,
because comedy fitting so many categories.
You got comedy horror,
rom-coms, comedy action.
It's just you can throw comedy with so many different things.
I want to like have my hand on all that shit.
And then I got a chance to collab with a little float here.
He left?
No, he got a trip.
We call it a trim fire break.
Sky Rizzy.
You went to go take a piece.
Carlos is what of my, like he's in a movie.
So like put him Carlos Billy.
Yeah, yeah.
And man, he kills this movie.
These guys don't miss.
He's him and it's cool.
But that's why I was wondering why nobody put them in like a position.
position to be on a big screen.
They got this crazy following.
They're fucking hysterical.
They're super talented.
I don't know about a comedy.
It always takes a real one.
It always takes somebody like yourself.
I don't know if it's comedy,
but I just feel like
Hollywood got a whole bunch of gatekeeping.
And it's like...
I think that's over, though.
I think it's...
I think the gatekeeping is...
Because first of all, I think people over,
like, when they talk about Hollywood, right?
We almost talk about like it's the Wizard of Oz.
where all of us are part of it anyway.
All this shit is Hollywood.
Whether you do an independent film or with a major studio,
I just think you got to be okay with not being a pick-me
all the time and just create this shit on your own.
And so like finding a way to get financed and this shit like that.
But that's what made me do a movie with my friends.
My thing is I love outlets like the Remy Network,
2B, all that.
Because you got guys, you got talent.
men and women that have talent
and they wind up shooting it themselves
and you don't need a billion dollars
and the shit pop off.
You know, everything in my life historically
has never been given to me.
It's always been you got to create it for yourself.
Everything.
Like everything I've ever got,
nobody ever gave it to me.
It wasn't like I had a big homie.
It wasn't like, it's always like,
all right, you did it on your own.
Congratulations, Joe, successful.
What else you're going to think of?
Yeah.
Because ain't nobody giving you shit.
And so that's why I was telling Rich early.
I said you're rich.
I got an idea about a series and I said,
I might as well fund this shit.
Shoot it hood-wise or whatever.
We already know it's going to be ill if we write the shit.
You know what I mean?
And then put it on Tooby or Remi Network or some shit.
Well, anything, right?
Even if you do Tooby, like learning just the licensing of things, right?
You shoot it on your own.
You can license that stuff to,
forever to a bunch of different places.
You can get to be a couple years and maybe Netflix.
Like, it's just, it's like,
if you learn a business or show business,
you'll stop waiting on somebody to give you some shit.
I agree.
You say no, but I say yes.
You waited for somebody to come put you in some shit.
It's not going to happen.
And the way it does happen is like, say, Juski.
I happen to know because we got the same barber.
He stole my barber.
What the heck?
That motherfucker can't give me a cut.
No time.
soon, he after movie after movie, Juski?
Oh, no, he didn't know, he knew Kevin Hart.
Like, he's just, he's disrespecting the bags.
Like, he just got movie after, movie after movie after.
That next year, we're going to see him everywhere.
You're going to be on every movie everywhere.
He's just caking up legend.
But I think once you get on that run that it's like you're on fire,
then, you know, everybody, oh, I got an idea.
A little row.
Well, this is this thing about it.
It's about consistency, though, right?
And I'm actually fascinating to see, like,
what a lot of the internet guys,
what their loan game is.
You know what I'm saying?
Because it's hard to stay consistent.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it's the game of the game.
It's consistency.
I think Drusky out of almost everybody,
and King Battsu is also.
Yeah, because you can't, you can't knock them in the...
No, I think they have an opportunity to do something very unique.
Because Drusky, like, I think we was somebody outside.
that day we're talking about a living color,
and he was able to do like a one man and live in color
what he's doing, right?
It's kind of crashing.
You know what I'm saying?
Come on now.
That's fine.
No, for real.
You got the organic coffee, man.
That's why I tell you, dunk the donuts, man.
A kiss cafe.
Kiss Cafe, baby.
Give me some gift cafe with some splendor in there.
Cold brew.
God.
It's funny.
It's like, I was like, yeah, because, you know,
I was saying something beef.
You was like, you had your French hat on with the little shit on time.
What the fuck?
What the fuck is this coffee?
You had your fresh shit on you.
You were like, oh, if you didn't, nigga, that's crazy.
Because the industry needs to you like, what the fuck is this?
Yo, this shit is crazy.
Yeah, I hear you rebel.
No, what the fuck?
No, no, it's nasty.
Dunkin' donuts.
No, that shit was poison, bro.
What was that?
He just gave me some shit, some bullshit.
Do you like ice coffee?
Zewski really did a one-man living color.
I think he's doing it.
I think what he's doing is, and I'm proud.
out of him because, you know,
he's actually somebody that has respect
too for the game. You know what I'm saying? He shows
everybody loves. He's not like,
you know, I like
the fact he's taking these pressure
moments and he's showing up. And we'll
see, like I said, like, he ain't never going to
blow up until he put the dick in his ear
like the weighing guy. Jesus
correct. What's that shit? White
girls? What was this shit? What was it?
Scary movie?
What's the shit? One of them shit,
he had a dick in his ear in the bathroom.
Through the hole.
You know, I'm a shot again.
You can't pay me for that.
You can't.
You can't.
A dick in your ear in the back.
What's the shit?
What's the shit?
Gloryhole they call that shit or some shit.
That nigga did it.
The wands.
That's not.
I mean, look it up.
Like, how much did they pay this man to do that?
To even assume the position.
I think he wrote it.
Yeah, yeah.
He wrote it.
He wrote it and said, I want to dick.
my ear.
Yo, you got it.
Like, what kind of drugs?
Y'all?
We're talking about some of the edgiest stuff
ever written this from them.
Oh, man, them guys are fucking...
So they don't give a fuck.
Yeah, it's...
If it's the joke, they're gonna go...
They was the first pro-LGB.
Remember they had the character on Living Color?
Yeah, it's raining, man.
It's raining, man.
Hallelujah.
What was the educated guy?
Oh, you're talking about the deep dude in jail.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You miss him of the Homo globin.
These guys, he's like the comedian.
He was saying all types of crazy.
You know, we know smart dudes like,
yo, let me tell you some.
This guy was smart.
Let me tell you.
I had a guy in my hood,
and I hope he don't kill me because he was really a gangster.
Nah.
Nah, I can't.
He's really a gangster, really a killer.
And if he sees this, he's probably going to be mad at me.
But I remember back in the day, this shit was the 90s.
He was showing me videos of guys saying there was going to be no more cash.
He was going to be credit guy.
The whole time, like, yo, what the fuck is wrong with this thing?
Because, like, he was saying no more cash, they're going to get credit card,
or Numinati shit.
I'm talking about 90s.
And all that shit started coming true.
Now, I'm like, yo, this motherfucker knew some shit 20 years ago.
Like, that shit was that.
You go to the barbershop, they play that shit.
Yo, if you ever look at the dollar, you see the pyramid, the disband.
Not of that shit.
They was talking about really fucking.
It was going to be phones where you could talk to a guy with their face this 20 years ago.
I mean, that's a Star Trek episode.
Like, if you watch Star Trek, they was FaceTiming first and all the type of shit.
Jets.
I feel like all this shit existed way before they just gave it to us.
That's what I mean.
He was this AI shit.
Yeah.
Like, I feel like AI exists.
way longer than we think.
I'm at AI niggins.
You ever met him?
I'm in Dubai.
You know, and we use these
these concierge
and they do like this.
Shoulders moving.
You don't smile, no emotion.
I'm telling, I'm telling Rich in them,
I'm like, yo, this guy, AI.
This guy is a real robot, real person.
I promise you, I believe
I met, yo, get rich play over here.
They're using them in Dubai.
They're using them.
These guys, when you look at them,
they're not walking like human beings and all that.
And they're not smiling.
They're not nothing.
I'm telling you, they got AI concierge in Dubai.
Now when y'all go out there,
look at the concierge,
and you're going to be like, yo,
fat Joe might not be fucking lying.
I'll tell you, son.
Robot people.
I bought my kids when they were,
Maybe like this is like five, six, seven years ago.
Remember those little robots pet things?
Mm-hmm.
I promise you I turned that motherfucker off.
I know I switched it off because I was already like kind of weird about this
because I don't fucking trust robots.
I wake up, this motherfucker was red eyes just doing shit.
I threw that bitch out my house.
Rich play up.
Never comes on the show.
Rich, you can be the boy's favorite.
Why rich make it that face?
What we go to Dubai?
The concierge guys at Dubai.
Yeah.
Straight AI.
Robots.
I'm telling them.
No, like this, look.
Helping you grabbing your bags.
Nah, this ain't.
They don't look the same.
Why I ain't filming?
They're filming them all day, but they look like human beings.
But the way they're moving and they move their head and all that.
You're like, you know, Dubai is always ahead of time.
Yeah.
With everything.
I'm telling you, they're working the guinea pigs right now in Dubai.
of the real guys walking through, grabbing your bags.
They don't smile, they don't do nothing.
They got no emotion.
We was killing them.
I don't know how to-
Snap it on them, calling them all type of shit.
He's like,
yo, look this, yo, this shit, he's killing them.
Anybody would have either got mad or laugh.
Did that scare you, though?
Like, because everybody, you're seeing this shit.
That shit was frightening as far as.
It's scary as fuck.
I'm telling you, I had a guy
Did his shoulders go like the movies?
What the fuck did you look like this?
But he's human.
He looks human.
Well, he don't smile.
We was destroying.
You even got to get angry and you got to smile.
This guy was like,
he should have smacked him.
He probably fucked you up, this guy's AI.
That's robot.
That scares me, though.
I'm a scatby.
No, scared his shit out of me.
I'm going to go take a bathroom break, too.
You're sure you don't?
You're not out of age yet, bro.
Hey, I'm sitting here.
Take a bathroom.
We got to take a bathroom break right now.
This is actually the greatest shit ever.

The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere, too, right?
What do you think it is now?
It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology.
Danny McBride.
He loves over.
Oh, that's fantastic.
And you make it on, you make your own.
That's great.
I call him Terro Reed.
It's a good name.
They're all named after cast members of American Pie.
Yeah.
I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobiesky.
Yeah.
I don't think she was an American Pie, but I still like that.
I haven't looked it up.
She was prominent around the same time.
Then Mary Steenberg.
Why are you guys talking to me?
I'm worried.
Did you understand the movie?
So down to me that you think
I don't understand your little
play game.
I just really.
I'm trying to set you up for success here.
Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app,

Come on, notes.
Sitting the couch.
Get him a mic.
Tell us about the movie.
Oh, we got to do the toast.
Okay, what my shit is?
Keeping 18.
You ain't getting low.
AT you on it.
I never glass.
In the mall.
Oh.
Get my nigga a mug, Mike.
I'm keeping it then.
I'm keeping it.
That's my only condition.
I'm keeping it.
Listen to the movie, Raul.
Say something good about it.
Let the people know what we're doing.
For all the real ones out there, we're keeping it 1800.
Talk about the movies.
First of all, my boy, Real making his directorial debut.
Let's make some noise to that.
Plus, it's the foremost.
Let's go, round
I'm talking about.
I know y'all can relate to this man.
When I first met this man,
we was putting together a $20 piece
to get some ground turkey
to make some burgers on the George formula.
I love that.
From the trenches, maybe.
Straight from the trenches,
I watched him jump into the movie game,
super proud of him.
He'd been putting it down
and he got to get behind the camera.
You ever see your boy do some shit?
You ain't know what he could do?
Like, I'm thinking he's just,
you know what I'm saying?
About to just talk a little shit.
Like, y'all do this right here?
But no, he got the monitors.
He's like, give me a 15.
Bring the lights up.
That's crazy.
Low step to the left.
He know that shit.
He knows that shit, man.
So I'm super proud of him.
He called me.
I was like, real, it don't matter what it is, man.
You've been a real one.
Anytime you call me, I'm going.
We put together a super dope project, man.
We got special effects.
We got monsters.
We got drama.
We got laughing.
We got comedy, man.
So what's the name of the movie?
We got...
Hunter Heist, man.
On a house, man.
Honest Hise.
Let's go!
Yeah, man.
Benjo, you funny as hell, man.
I saw you didn't want the next series to end.
You was like, Timothy Shalamee, he ain't calling me no more.
Oh, no, he ain't called me since.
We ain't placed no more.
You know, Timothy hanging out with me every day, Rao.
Yeah, let's go this.
That motherfucker ain't called me since, man.
He called you next season.
Next season.
I'll see him next season.
We seasonal friends.
Yo, you know who did me like that?
is Blake Griffin.
Blake Griffin.
He looked like everybody
wanted to hang out with Blake.
He wanted to hang out with Blake.
He came to like the comedy festival in
Montreal, just for last festival
where all the comedy comedians go
and he did stand-up.
So he was all our friend for like the week.
We was hanging out.
I thought he was going to be friends.
Man, we embraced him.
We embraced him.
We got five and with him.
We partied together.
And we got back to a regular life.
I saw him at the soul house.
I was like, what's up like?
What's up like?
He was like, hey.
And then walked away.
Like, damn.
Man.
I was hurt by that.
I was like, man, we was buddy.
I was bragging about that, everybody.
Hip hop is the king of that.
Especially your up-and-coming rapper is the king of that.
You mean, yo, you know how many people would be like,
yo, I met DMX, like artists I had back in the day.
Met DMX.
He said, when he'd do a whole album, would be this and this.
I see your brother, DMX ain't never.
What do you mean?
Yo, I met Farrell.
Farrell said, Farrell ain't never.
Calling you back.
When I met R. Kelly for the first time,
and the man said,
yo, fat Joe, I want to do a song with you.
I gently put my hand on his shoulder
because I was still 90% hood, 10% rapper.
I said, yo, don't lie to me.
Because I can't even believe you even know who I am.
I fucked out of year.
I grew up with the Puerto Ricans.
I love Fat Joe this.
And we did the song.
But it was like, you know, he wasn't full of shit.
Like, it was like, you find more full of shit people in this business
than you find actually people with,
it's just actually hard to believe their word.
Like, now when you see somebody do that society's so fucked up,
then now when somebody give you their word or they're a real one,
it's like shocking that someone kept their word.
You're like, oh, wow, this guy's a man of his word.
It's not supposed to be like that with morals and principles.
What I'm thinking about?
It's like, it's like, it's,
It's also interesting when you, like,
and I think that's why to play Griffith.
They hurt so much because I was like, man,
because we saw a basketball player do what we do, right?
We like, dang, he came into our world.
Like, we can't, I can't go, like, he could just jump at a school.
Literally, you go to Clippers and get a tent.
Yeah, but it's cool that you even, that you're a good person, brother,
because most of these comedians, to me,
I feel like when somebody outside of a comedian tries to,
they better be the funny.
They didn't not believe in it.
You know how many comedian friends I got this?
Like big time,
they were like, y'all,
T. I was trying to be a comedian.
Like, you know, not everybody don't embrace it.
This is scary part.
When we all saw Blake on stage,
he was so fucking funny.
That's the one really made us uncomfortable.
And, like, I remember laughing.
Man, he was fucking hysterical.
Wow.
I don't even say that shit all the time.
Maybe that's just calling it.
The motherfucker.
was the shit he was doing
and talking about the NB.
Like, it was like,
it was like,
yo,
this,
it's actually irritated.
I was laughing like,
ha ha.
So you can jump out the gym,
man,
tell jokes,
motherfuckers.
His brother was cold, too.
Yeah.
But,
I mean,
Blake is funny on stage,
though, Carlos.
I'm not even lying.
Like,
you know,
I always thought I was actually surprised.
You could.
But I'm just like very one dimension.
No, he could.
No.
Why he could?
You can't pick me up, bro.
Why he can't pick him up?
You're fucking hated.
I beat it.
Fuck, he said.
You know, why he can't pick me up?
Give him too many.
Man, look, get Joe right, man.
You see?
I believe that.
I believe that.
I believe.
I believe.
I believe.
You believe that?
You believe that?
Yeah, he can help you and get it with his expertise.
You can get right.
What you got a little bit of, and when he got a lot of him, he can help.
Joe got it, man.
He got plenty of shit.
Andy, you're a story telling.
He's just got to shorten it up.
It's just you got to shorten it.
About 80, niggins.
No, Stephen A.
Smith came in.
I want to kick it with Joe one time.
I just need to kick it with bad joke for like one weekend.
So we can have the premise, the setup every time is.
It's me and a hundred niggins.
Yeah.
Every joke started like,
That's when the crowd know, oh, shit, about to get good.
So it's me and a hundred Puerto Rican nakes.
It's my grandmother's 77th birthday.
We eating grilled cheese.
I'm talking about some of the best cheeses.
The salt this breast.
Yo, you never, you niggas never seen bread this salt.
That's that girl.
You never seen cheese this cheese by here, boy.
You know, that's it.
That's it.
Oh, my God.
Hello.
Hey Joe.
Yo, I didn't even tell you niggins about the suit.
He been doing this all day.
He's been doing this all day?
Man.
Yo.
Hey, Joe, they talk shit all the.
I don't get it.
You know, anytime you start off a story, like,
I want you to, even if it wasn't,
I want you to say it was a hundred niggas.
Fuck a regular story, nigga.
Who else get to travel with a hundred niggins?
Yeah, that's fun.
He been doing this shit.
Like, you don't understand.
He been doing this all...
He's been doing this all the...
He's like, you know, it's a hundred-cadipater-Ree.
He'd just start all the stories when it was a hundred-fort-Ree.
Let me ask you questions.
This room is so big.
40 guys coming in.
Stay 30.
Wouldn't it feel like a hundred nigs?
Everywhere you turn around is motherfuckers over you, this and there.
You be like, yo, what's a hundred niggins?
This shit.
That's crazy.
That's a funny part, right?
Yeah.
Nobody ever questioned.
It was a...
Nobody never questioned.
Nobody never questioned.
How about you know where I got these motherfuckers?
The Roots Picnic.
Right?
Now you want to hear comedy...
Because I know the leader of your comedy, the whole cult.
Who?
Your whole Masonic thing.
What the fuck?
Hold up.
Wait a minute.
Listen.
I just knew y'all in shit.
The leader of the cult is Dave Chappelle.
Dave Chappelle.
I'm at the Roots Picnic,
and I'm trying to figure out
where to go. And I seen him walking. I said,
follow him. He know.
And everybody's Halib,
Qaulim, all these
fucking backpack
rapists, everybody walking with
the nigger. He's the leader.
He's walking through like the Messiah. So I say,
yo, we better follow things.
But we're going up this thing.
And I turned around there like, yo, Joe,
is someone said. Now, you wouldn't
believe me if I wouldn't tell you, I was
with a hundred days. I believe.
What I'm in a hundred things?
Only thing Dave Cappell's running this show right now.
There's a hundred of them.
They start dying laughing at the stick.
I'm like, yo, it is what he is.
He got us in backstage.
Security moved out the way for a hundred.
Backstage of J.C., you know, Beyonce's Day.
Like, they just date Shabelle come.
Yeah, you got to go to the gym.
They move out the way.
He'd do a big summer camp at his crib.
He got a, he got a, like, 100 acres.
And he'd do a big comedy show, like, on some.
He got a comedy club there.
Oh, I got, I hope I'm invited.
Man, that's, he gave me the sneakers.
Because it's out in the middle of nowhere in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and, like, he owned the whole fucking town.
He even put a dispatcher.
No, that's what he said.
Word?
Yeah, he got a niggas.
This nigga on the pizza shop, the pharmacy.
He did say own the whole shit.
Did you ever see, he says that.
He spoke at the city council.
Like, I think.
You need new roads over here.
They wanted to build a new fire department.
They had to ask him and make you do the shit.
He bought the old one and turned it into a club.
So after the show, he takes everybody to the old fire department
and this guy.
Got it laid out.
It just looked fucked up outside.
You know, Ricky.
Ricky, you know you my girl, man.
I got to get invited to these other things.
No, Ricky, she worked with him for us.
That's my manager.
Ricky's your manager?
I'm telling you.
Yo, Ricky, what's up?
Yo, Fajon, Joe, it's me and a hundred niggins.
You know, I saw the coolest shit I posted in.
No, he would.
Like you said, Dave Chappelle is the top dog.
He would have y'all perform, too.
He would have y'all perform.
You pull up on him, he's like, oh.
Listen, give me space, son of you.
I'm the only guy.
Right?
So I go see Eddie Murphy's Raw with my whole project.
I think the whole project's.
500 of us.
It's 500 niggins.
Out of the whole 500 niggins, guess who gets thrown out the movie theater?
There's one nigger right here.
I cannot, I will die of laughter.
Like, if you're funny, I don't give a fuck.
I'm laughing louder than life.
There's nothing I can do.
I just, I got a weakness.
I will last.
And so them niggas is like,
yo, you gotta go.
You're doing too much.
Eddie Murphy Raw.
They just smoked in blood,
drinking 40 ounce.
I'm the only sober one.
They throw me out of the old movie theater.
Like, yo, you got to go, my man.
You're doing too much.
I love laughing so much.
I mean, I would die.
We got to ask y'all this,
because we're such big fans of rappers.
And it's like, you do some shit like this.
And then you get around the niggies.
And then you leave, you be singing.
and y'all shit all day,
you'd be leaving out of this bitch,
like,
what's love?
So my shit,
when you be,
I always wanted to ask,
like,
what was that moment for you,
both of y'all?
Felt like.
Let him go first.
Well, you felt like,
all right,
now the rap shit makes sense.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like,
it's not just chasing a dream.
You mean money or what?
No, no, it's just that moment.
It felt like you was actually in the game
and you weren't just chasing the dream.
You got to go first.
No, no, you got to go first.
Don't feed off of my fucking.
You want to fucking feed off my shit.
It's no me without it.
Let the youth decide.
Youth, youth, on the move.
On the move.
I know mine.
I don't know.
I can't really say, I mean,
you can't say when it's not.
Benjamin's.
Not a fuck.
Maybe the Benjamin's.
Yeah.
When the Benjamins came out of it,
because we didn't really like it.
We didn't, we didn't think it.
was going to be what it was.
I mean,
that was probably like the last song
that we recorded.
You ain't like Benjamin?
You didn't like the beat.
You could even rap to the Benjamin's beat.
And when we did that.
And then it was like the
shit started changing after the Benjamin's.
On the Benjamin said you started wearing
like white suits and shit.
You just.
Let me ask you this, though.
Maybe I brought the rooftop joint, right?
That was at one of your war shows, right?
That was an MTV, one of the
MTV Award.
That didn't feel like that?
Because that was like your own album too.
And it was, I remember that moment was like,
you know, this nigga's the best nigga in the world right now.
That felt good because it was, it was my solo.
But, you know, being with Puff and writing for him and seeing all of the
accolades and shit that he was getting, it felt good to do, you know,
get my own flowers because I was getting
they kicked me out of the garden
for the other shit.
But this is the thing about it. It's funny because both you all got
hits that like
that became the club playover
again hits. Everybody don't get
that. Like when they keep starting that motherfucker
anthems, we call them man. Yeah. Everybody
don't have them though. Like legit like
I'm going to tell you what it was for me right?
And I was already big
right? Pond was already double platinum. We already did a lot.
I remember one year I was cold.
and I was in my mother and father's house, New Year's Eve.
And for us, before rap, before anything,
I don't know if it was a Puerto Rican thing when we celebrated.
To this day, my birthday and New Year's Eve,
guarantee Fad Joe's shit-faced drunk.
Those are the two days I dedicate this whole year.
It's New Year's Day, I'm drunk.
There's nothing you could do.
My birthday, I'm walking out the room with a fucking 18.
like nine in the morning.
Yeah, I don't give a fuck.
Those are the two days.
Do you like go to bed with it?
No, no, no.
When I wake up, I'm about for a nigga that don't drink.
I got bars all over my crib, B.
I got bars on every floor.
Nica, I'm not lying to you.
It's too much.
So I go like this.
But the point is one New Year's Eve,
but when my mother and father, and it's quiet.
Right?
It's just quiet.
I'm there with the home.
We in the house in Miami.
And I'm watching, like, you know, the rocking New Year's Eve.
And I said to myself, I said, I'm going to be on that bitch next year.
Fuck that.
I'm going to New Year's Eve.
Next year, I was in New Year's Eve performing New York, lean back.
The next year I was on a dance.
So it must have been 2003.
I'm with my mother in them because 2004 is when Lean Back in New York and all that shit came out.
New Year's Eve, I never forget.
I had the fucking Belor.
suit on and that was fucking time square
and I was like, yeah, I said
I was gonna do this shit last year
and I did that moment there was like
it was like, just think about it.
How many kids, you know, we watch all these
all these shows.
When I was a kid in elementary,
I watched Michael Jackson
Moonwalk. I watched fucking boy George
come, come, come, come, win to every
fucking award. Madonna,
they're coming with little
Michael Jackson coming with Homeward.
he's sitting him on his lap.
What's my man, Emmanuel Lewis?
So I'm looking at all this shit.
And I'm like, yo, and you come the next day after that award show,
there is no social studies current.
We're just talking about the award show.
Like that's so to actually get successful enough to where we perform and we actually won
these awards and that was another moment for me where I went to jail,
lost all my money.
Remy went to jail for eight years,
lost all your money.
You lost all your money?
They took on my money.
I never thought you lost the paper.
Oh, no.
I lost all my money.
I ain't never seen you fucked up.
Oh, no, no, I ain't never going to be.
The haircut, dirty shoes or nothing.
You ran this shit back up.
You see how these people say,
yo, I was homeless.
I was, I don't, I robbed the bank.
I sell big drugs.
Like, I'm never going to be broke.
So, like, they took all my money.
I still act.
Cuban-linked song and ice and brand new.
Like, I'm not the one.
Like, when they come to that,
you ain't never seeing me like that.
Like, so I'm going to get to the bag.
I never even heard that.
It's true.
They took all my money, millions and millions of dollars.
The point is, we make all the way up,
and me and Remy is backstage.
It's Samuel Jackson is in the audience and everybody.
We made it back, and we just held each other's hands, like, real tight.
And they said, all right, performing.
Fat Joe and Remy.
all the way up.
You see that show there?
That was the most energy I had in my life.
I came out there.
I had some shit on.
I must have had like some Mermazzo.
I came out of there.
I was like, come all the way up.
Nothing can stop me.
That was a moment for me, too.
That was like a real like, wow, we're back.
We're getting to the bag.
You know, we're back where we need to be.
You know what I'm saying?
That was a big moment for me.
Big, huge.
Loose.
Well, let me ask you, because you had.
to them this because we all, I think
everybody has this very specific
moments you just don't forget.
You know what I'm saying? You're like, oh shit, I'm here.
What was your?
Shit.
Let me see.
Getting that Ben's dealership for the first time.
Because y'all know
it's different when you can, when they know you got it.
When you, when you're just like working
and you can afford this shit, you got to call the bank.
You might have to go get it.
You might have to run to the house and get another.
I did some shit.
But when they know you good for it,
they'll throw you that bitch and be like,
ah, come back tomorrow and fill out the paperwork.
That was when,
when they started trying to give me shit.
When they stop asking how you're going to pay for,
you want to put this in the company name?
Shit like that.
I was like, yeah.
And then I took it to get some shit and look there.
You know how you do your maintenance and shit.
And then the lady brought the other shit around
that I was looking at
and she put a bow on in that.
How about when they bring shit
that you know yourself?
You can't afford it.
They start bringing you shit.
You're like,
I don't think so right now.
I'm, uh,
yeah,
I'm gonna just keep.
Yeah,
I don't want the hydro plane.
It only works,
works on water.
Nicks,
I'm bringing some shit.
I'm like,
ah,
how's the bench truck?
I was like,
really got my eye on this one.
They start bringing out shit.
You can't even afford still.
Yeah.
But you're like,
nah,
I'm good.
They start bringing out
electric
Rolls Royces.
This is the spectrum.
You're not talking about.
I'm good.
I'm jumping that bitch
and I was like,
I had to hit him
with the motherfucker
paid a fool.
White niggas
ain't even got a fish.
Let me tell you something.
I went one of the illest
hostas
get money dudes
in the planet Earth
in Harlem
was my man Von Zip
rest of peace.
One day he picked me up
and say,
yo come with me.
I'm going to Benzzez's
true story.
and the man bought new bands
and pay with old money.
Like the shit smelled like the cemetery.
The old little faces, he paid
maybe $100,000 with like,
letting me know he pulled that shit out the wall.
Like, I'm like there, he's like, yo, Joe,
oh, money, dude.
This shit ain't.
I'm like looking at him.
I'm like, look at him.
I said, yo, this is the ill.
For no reason, he wanted to prove to me
that he bought the car 100,000 or whatever
with fucking the old shit,
Look, orange, somebody.
He had this shit so long.
Like, yo, this thing is stunned it on me.
Crazy.
What was your moment?
Yeah.
Well, it's funny because you, it's like you got those moments,
but then you have moments where you're like,
all right, this is a big deal.
It happened twice.
It happened when Get Out came out.
When I showed up, nobody knew who I was on the carpet.
Nobody did no interviews with me and no shit like that.
Wow.
And we watched a movie.
And when it ended, me and my team came out.
And I was just like, oh, wow, I'm on the big screen.
I was just happy to see myself on there.
And, you know, they had a lower level with the people who are not the cast just coming to the premiere.
When I tell you, those people bum-rushed me and security had to walk me to my car.
And I remember going in the car talking to my team, like, what the fuck is for that happened?
You know what I mean?
Like, it was just, you just felt like it felt like it was a life-changing.
It was just sunk.
It caught it right on the spot.
It was crazy.
And then the second time was I did one of my specials at the Chicago Theater.
So that whole day was that.
Like me looking at my name and lights, Little Real Live concert comedy film.
It's like, oh, shit.
And then when I shot it, it was a great set.
I had crucial conflict open up for me.
I didn't even have no comic open up.
It was fucking crazy.
But it was a moment where I was done and everybody was standing up.
And my mom passed in 2009.
But like for a brief second, I saw her like sit down.
She was there.
Just her spirit.
Oh, her spirit, yes.
Yeah, it was kind of crazy.
And so that was that moment where, like, you know, that happens.
Yeah.
You know, just yesterday, my wife said, my mom's came in her dream and said,
yo, why you don't want flowers?
I need flowers.
My mother ain't anymore.
She said, she sent over the flowers to her, you know, we still got the house.
I said, but nobody's there.
And she's like, no, no, I sent over the flowers.
She went flowers.
You know, they send you the mess.
They pop up.
Yeah.
Let you know what they're thinking.
Check this out.
This ain't that.
That ain't this.
It's cracking kiss.
Make some noise for railing low.
Horny's haze, baby.
Yes, sir.
Yeah.
