Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guide. Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Jim Gaffigan to Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an acapella band with their between songs banter. There's that worst singer in the group? The worst? Yeah. Me. Is there anything to the idea that because you're from Harvard.
Starting point is 00:01:01 You only got in because your parents made a huge donation. The group. The yard birds, right? That's the name. The Harvard Yard's, but they're open. Do you have a name suggestion?
Starting point is 00:01:12 We're open. Since you guys are middle age, one erection. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You love me. I need some.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Some jokes to make me seem funny. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHart Podcast presents soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:01:42 A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a bogo. Well, then you got it.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Listen to soccer. on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be? I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS. Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to fupas to scheduling sex. Wait, what sex? Is it just me, or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes? They say we can't polish a turn, but we're sure going to try.
Starting point is 00:02:29 so let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Deanna Maria Riva on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There's no, Rick Ross, not smacking nobody. For sure. We saw you in Canada, brother. We saw you run on your peoples and all that. We know you not about that.
Starting point is 00:02:48 We've seen you run on your peoples, man. We know you saw off, my brother. Shut the fuck up with you. Okay. Brooms, bro. Role! What's that point you get movies with? Oh!
Starting point is 00:02:57 Bramble! Yo, Brammer, get a... Alright. Get a... Get a... I don't... ...all Let it.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Let it. Stop it for a minute. Stop it. Stop it. No, let it keep playing. Let it. Y'all want to see all this shit. Let's play.
Starting point is 00:03:14 There's like... We see... I want to see some more, though. Let it play. Let it play. No, no. But stop it, because I got something to say. The volume is now like death row records, y'all. And this is why I'm gonna tell you all that.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I never thought it would be like death row. for records over there. I love the volume. Shout to Hard Rock betting. Shout to everybody. The ads on the show, I love all you guys. So you got Rick Ross on Joe and Jada. You got Ross telling Mal to you know what and his moms, which is crazy. It's crazy to my point. I don't talk about nobody's mother. That's just not me. Right. I mean, that's me. Then you got him dissing the G unit and my man murder on there. But to me, Rick Ross jokes is getting dry, murder, clean my boat, Yale, mow my lawn. I don't care about none of that, right?
Starting point is 00:04:02 No, Rick Ross, not smacking nobody. You don't there talking about smacking. We saw you in Canada, brother. We saw you run on your peoples and all that. We know you not about that. We've seen you run on your peoples. We know you saw off, my brother. BT Awards, right?
Starting point is 00:04:16 When the shit happened with GZ, I was there. I was backstage. It was only a couple, a few good men. This is when the gunplay got his chain, took, and all that. There was a few good men there. I'm not going to keep saying names to be federal on here, but there was a good few men there and was not traveling the night. When Rick Ross walked by me and a few good men because it was like maybe five of us,
Starting point is 00:04:39 and this is when 50 is going back and forth with Diddy backstage. They're going back and forth. 50 told, I think that's the day he told French Meek is better than you. 50 was just wild in that day. It was a lot of shit going on. Ross walked right by me. smack got the video. He just don't want to put it out
Starting point is 00:04:56 because I don't know why for political reasons. Smack put the video out. Smack got the video. He walked right by me. They said, what up? They had like 30 niggers with them. And I'm like, what up?
Starting point is 00:05:06 It wasn't like, we don't never travel light so he knows it's not like that. Right. But now the volume is definitely like their fro. I don't know what's going on. Shout to the volume. Let's talk about the Drake shit now. Ricky Rosetta, you're punk ass.
Starting point is 00:05:18 A nigga punch him in the chest. He might have a season, man. Yeah, definitely, man. You've seen what happened to him in Canada. Shout to them boys. Shout to them. The boys and Canada boys that put the beats on. Pressup, Bundog, Drake, Oviota.
Starting point is 00:05:29 The album is out right now. Oh. Three albums, Iceman. Oh. Made an honor. And how I pronounced the last name, Habiti. Habiti. Habiti.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I'm going to keep it real. Iceman. I took a lot of notes. I like Iceman. He had a lot of lines. I felt like he was mad. He took shots at Kendrick, DJ Callet, A.S. You think Rihanna, too?
Starting point is 00:05:50 Well, he said your baby moms didn't post a single. Jay Cole, LeBron James. Rick Ross. I like the Rick Ross line a lot. You know what I'm saying? I was eating Ross with a shirt. Listen, I like the Rick Ross line a lot because even when they did their verses, you heard the crowd seeing Drake in the beginning. You've seen the energy.
Starting point is 00:06:10 He was, they played that Drake. You know what time it is. Or he said he was A. Listen, every time we think, every time we think Drake is going to fail, right? Because he's been in the game for 16 years and usually an artist has a time where it stops. He comes back all the time. Now he dropped three albums and is going to pass Jay-Z the money he made overnight.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Allegedly, allegedly he got out the deal. Those three albums was for him to get out of the deal. And he got $2 billion on the tape waiting for him right now. So, listen, he surpassing Jay-Z overnight. He surpassing a lot of rappers overnight. What Drake just did was incredible. It's not glazing. He got classic shit on the album.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Then he just break a Michael Jackson on his way. He had a number one record is on Spotify. He crashed Spotify. He did crash Spotify and Apple Music that day from here. He broke records on Spotify, Apple Music, everything. He was debuting with around 13.2 million streams on one day on Global Spotify. Just to keep that in mind. I mean, with three whole albums, right?
Starting point is 00:07:13 What do you guys think about it? Do you feel like that's what artists got to do now? They just drop all their projects, get out of their label. I feel like, I feel like Make them cry felt like a big record because I'm I believe it had the Biggie drums on there. I think it had some of the biggie drums on there. And he talked about his father had cancer. So the lines felt like when Big said,
Starting point is 00:07:33 My Mama had cancer in the breast. Iceman is definitely the hottest album of the summer. What else? What else up? Listen to it. Because I listened to the whole first album. I didn't get a chance to listen to the third album. I remember you were saying that too.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I don't know. It was too much to listen to all of it right now. I'm really kind of stuck on Iceman at the moment. I was working a lot of you were a lot of it. A lot of the real raps came through. Yeah, yeah, I'm stuck on Iceman right now. There was another song, Dust on the Plex. I like when he said, I'm in Atlanta, I'm like Santa.
Starting point is 00:08:04 It just sounded like he was just mad with crazy fucking bars, bro. You know what I mean? He was mad at everybody because, you know, in a game, there is really no friends, bro. Let's keep it real. I like that he was saying names, too. Like, no games. He was saying the names. I like that.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Yeah, he was saying the names. He said DJ Callad name. A.S. He didn't really say his name, but he said your girl in Potion's single. I'm LeBron James. He got crazy. What he said about LeBron again? Come on, Drake.
Starting point is 00:08:28 You know LeBron, my God, man. What he said about 23? Come on. LeBron to go. He got that. LeBron. They started putting old footage of him and LeBron together. What he said about, I'm LeBron again?
Starting point is 00:08:36 That he can't forgive Jay Cole. Jay Cole ain't call him back. Sorry. All right. So he said, I should even be shocked to see you in that arena because you always made your career off of switching teams up. So he's talking about when LeBron was at that. He said something about 23.
Starting point is 00:08:51 That's something about 23. That's when LeBron was at that, um, Kendrick concert. Yeah, he said, please stop asking what's going on with 23 and me. I'm a real, and he's not, it's in my DNA. And then, you know, he got big features on there. He got Molly Santana. I think they said she's signed a Rock Nation, I believe. They said her and Nikki's kind of beefing right now.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I don't know what's what's up with that. I don't know how true that is. He took shots at Joe Bunn, too? Yeah, he took shots at Joe Bunn's walking around naked, they said. Joe Bunn saluted it, though. I heard Joe Bunn's like it's Drake Time. He said, yeah. He said everybody got to respect it.
Starting point is 00:09:23 He said Joe Burns, Joe Burns said, Drake coming back, taking shots at everybody. He said, y'all had your time. Everybody was happy when Drake was down. And now Drake back popping. It was a genius move because the first album was just like, yo, let me diss everybody. You heard Ed?
Starting point is 00:09:39 You heard, Merck? The first album was like, yo, I'm gonna dis everybody. That's when he just had disc records all day, crazy punchlines, ash to ashes, dust to dust, everything, make them pay. Make them pay, oh my God. He did the Aconnelli, free join over. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:54 He was dissing everybody on there. Everybody took shots. He took shots at everybody. And, I mean, I just feel like it was a dope album production was crazy. Name some of the producers on there because they had a list of producers. They, it was like, I know Take He was on a lot of stuff. 40, of course. It was just crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:10:13 21 Savage on there. He got Future on that. Boy Wonder. Yeah, a lot of people. He got a lot of producers on there. And him and Future dropping the, you know, they, They drop in the record. They beef squash.
Starting point is 00:10:25 So that's what I was going to ask you guys. How do you feel about that? I know you already talked about the fact that, you know, that whole beef is gone now they're officially on the album. Was this enough time for all that shit to kind of wear out for something? Yeah, you can make up. What you mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:40 With them to, I don't think they, they driving was never really, I don't know, people never really know. We never knew what it was about. What they issue. I think people just looked at it. This is the way I look at the whole Drake situation. Like the future was just ride with Metro Boomer. I look at the Drake situation. Let out the future mental boomer to those, my guys.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Look, I never, I know, I never got a Drake record or never, I don't want a Drake record. Drake is the biggest artist. I'm podcasting. I'm not rapping right now. You understand? I just do it for the sport. Right? Now listen.
Starting point is 00:11:05 He's still rap. I'm still rapping. Man, he's rapping. He's got to deal with Empire. Shout to Empire. They cut me a check. I'll start rapping like this. Besides that, no check, no raps.
Starting point is 00:11:14 So for me, right? I look at it like this. When you, Drake did a lot of favors for people in the game. He brought Kendry. on his tour. He gave Ross a whole bunch of hit records. He gave Wayne hit records, which was, Wayne got money off him. He helped a lot of rappers in the game. Wayne brought him in the game too. Yeah, hit records with Future, 21 Savage. Come on. We can't say that Drake ain't the number one MC. And what he do, instead of dropping one album like we thought he was going to do, he dropped three,
Starting point is 00:11:44 got out of his contract. And like I said, it's like he's almost blowing past Jay Z overnight. Or Dre and them, they all billionaires. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, get a $2 billion deal, you could believe that. That's believable from Drake. With him, with all that you're saying right now, would you say this is a career-saving move? I feel like it's a great game of chess. He was playing chess, not checkers. Explain.
Starting point is 00:12:08 He shitted on Universal. He told what's the guy named Lucian? I'm the Golden Goose, nigger. Shited on that, nigga. Played chess. And one shit, he shitted on Jay-Z. He's like, nigga, I don't want the $500,000. I'd rather take the $500,000 in the $500,000.
Starting point is 00:12:23 dinner. He talked about Jay. Yeah, that was... That was a little slick. I know Jay going to come back to something. That was slick. He said, y'all go to Jay Z for the second opinions. He was getting that niggas crazy on that shit. He was talking crazy. He was talking crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:35 We can't keep it real. We gotta keep it real. So the first album was dissing niggers. And then to me, the second album was crazy. Why I made the honor? Because that shit is just straight for overseas hits. A lot of dance music. A lot of dance music.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Who we had on there? Popkind. Who else? Central C. Seat. Seat, sexy red. I listen to all them records right there. Yeah, Stenna.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Cheater print. So, St. St.U.C. Put on, he put some understanding on the mat. Between them two albums, Drake, no, we need you on the show. Or we come to Canada. You know, you got love for you, Drake. OVO.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I already gave academics and 200. Shops, what up, Chops. Look, look. He gave academics a $250,000 chain. He and the video. So academics, shout to you. Business is business. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:13:17 But I didn't even get a chance to get to the third album. You know why? Because the first two was so dope. Yeah, I'm still stuck. I'm still stuck on ice, man. Listen, the second one was just for overseas, it feel like. Australia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Paris, Africa. It felt like that's Jamaica.
Starting point is 00:13:37 It felt like that's a dance hall vibe thing he did with that. And Drake is a genius. Three albums at one time. Take over the summer. You know, a couple of, honestly shout to Lucky, because Lucky dropped the album. I want to get him on the show. I know you about Know About Lucky.
Starting point is 00:13:51 My kids love Lucky. My kids love Lucky And he was number four on the charts So was it smart for him to drop when Drake dropped? Because now you're like, fuck it, I'm gonna get lucky shit too Shout to him, make sure you're a cop to album Facts, shout out to Lucky. You know, so that was kind of good marketing
Starting point is 00:14:04 because somebody would be like, yo, should I drop when Drake dropped? I know a lot of people thinking about not dropping them. Well, three, I mean, three whole albums. Like that's insane. We're talking about a lot of tracks here. Definitely. But Lucky was still what, number four in the charts? He did it to get out his deal, man.
Starting point is 00:14:20 So you got to respect it. You get out the deal that he got them two bees on the table. I mean, but the whole thing is was the albums were dope. You know, that's the whole thing. He didn't put out music that was mid. All the music was crazy. The production was crazy. You can't, everybody going to be riding the Drake the whole summer.
Starting point is 00:14:36 We didn't even get to the, like I said, the first album dissing everybody. Yeah, I'm still stuff for Iceman. I didn't even get to really check out the other ones. I'm still just stuck on Iceman. That's the benefit. You got time for all that. You got time for all that. And you know, Drake gets slippery.
Starting point is 00:14:50 You know, he gets slippery. You know, he gets crazy. You know what I'm saying? Your baby mom ain't post your single? That's crazy, bro. He'd be saying a lot of crazy. He got some crazy lines, bro. Kill Callet, kill Ross.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Aiden Ross. He heard what he said. That's why Ross had ever streamed. That was crazy. I didn't mean to catch up by surprise by him. Because you got to know when Drake... He ain't officer Ricky about to drop an album. You got to think about this.
Starting point is 00:15:14 That shit going double wood. That shit going double wood. But this is what you got to edit. He ain't going to make no noise when that shit dropped. Me and him had to talk about this, right? But he got to talk about this, right? It was about another artist, right? When Drake diss you, your kids got to go to school and hit that shit.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Like, your kids are sitting in the line when your son is walking down the whole way or your family. You heard what Drake just said? He got that much power that them diss his whole way. It's different. It don't just end on the internet. Man, that man played chess. He waited for everybody, kept quiet, seen everybody flipped on him. And he just came out with like a, just dissing everybody.
Starting point is 00:15:51 album. That's what makes Iceman crazy because he's dissing everybody. How long do you wait to drop another piece after dropping three whole albums though? When you get that first billion, nigger? Of course. Why not? If he working on that type of deal, shit, he got a whole bunch of shit to talk after he secured that paper. Right. So. But he ain't, they ain't even going to stress him. That's Drake. Drake is a machine now. He's bigger than what Universal is. I think Kendrick is big like that too. But now what Drake did is he, he, he, he, he, he, he's a machine now. He's bigger than what He mastered the game.
Starting point is 00:16:23 I'm dropping three albums. Fuck Universal. I'm Lucian's golden goose, nigga. I'm catching as much stunts as I can. I'm ice man. I'm buying the most jewelry. I'm showing the cause. He fretting.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I'm out this deal. And you heard this song with 21 Savage. Billions on the table, nigga. It's crazy. Let's talk about a little bit more about other features, right? So now Vlad and Busy are making the runs again on the webs, right? Right.
Starting point is 00:16:50 So Boosie did have a reaction towards all this. And then apparently another outlet, Say Cheese was offering about 15K for an interview. He refused that. But not only did he refuse that, he apparently upped it from 25K with Vlad to 40K. I mean, Boosie do what he want to do. Shout to Boosie.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I mean, you know, I'm not mad at him or Vlad. That's their agreement. But at the same time, you know, if he's getting $25,000 from Vlad, he might not want to take 18, 15 from somebody. But, you know, we all hustlers. Money is money, man. Go get the money while, you know, you're still out there able to get it. That's the way I see it.
Starting point is 00:17:27 But some people might, you know, that's not my price. And they don't want people to think that that's your price. At this point, would you say that the artists are helping the platforms or the platforms are helping artists? It's both. You can't because without the artists, it ain't no platform. You know what I'm saying? And also the platform do give the artists a place to express themselves
Starting point is 00:17:46 and help get their self viral and things of that nature. So I really, I really think it's the person because, Everybody don't watch. Like, Boosey is like one of the most watch online. Him being himself. You know what I'm saying? He's one of them guys that go viral all the time. He's at the game having a good time.
Starting point is 00:18:05 He's with a pretty lady in his car. He's at his mansion. His Cane Corso biting the nigger. Like, he just make his life a movie. He's just funny all the time. And right now, him and Vlad is monetizing off the shit. So shout to both of them. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:20 You know? We also get into some other type of costs as well, right? So we did talk about AP and Swatch having to collab. Oh, right? Oh, so wait, so you celebrating here for them? No, it's a good move, and I'm going to tell you why. Okay. I'm going to tell you why it's a good move because now.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Because remember, now they're not official like wristwatch. They're busy pocket watches. Okay, but now when we looked outside, we talked about it over the weekend. And when the APs, when the AP and Swatch collab drop, the lines was out the door, show murder. The lines was out the door. People was camping out. They're on Birkums now Girls are putting it on Burkums
Starting point is 00:18:54 It's a good look to have that little watch Hanging the little AP hanging off the Berkham That's a good assessing. I don't know if it's a good look I'm not going to say that So why? Why do you think it's not a good look murder? I don't know I mean because it's still
Starting point is 00:19:04 You know the price of it It's only $300 Now even though I did see some hustlers Show them the lines outside Resolers reselling it now I heard some people was out there reselling it For about 3,000 or 4,000 Show them lines outside man
Starting point is 00:19:18 This is the slight put I'll give you, yeah, yo, and I'm curious to what you think about it. This is funniest hair right here. I saw this. Mad people are online, right? But they're reselling it, right? And I got to do a little research on stock X. They're reselling for almost $3,000.
Starting point is 00:19:36 That's a W no matter what for you. You got to respect the hustle. So we looked at it like certain people might look at it like it don't make no sense. But other people are looking like, yo, it's going to be limited addition. So whoever get it, them guys, show the lines out. side the school. People thought that, right? Look at it.
Starting point is 00:19:53 But you can bring it up, right? It's an article. They thought it was going to be something where it's limited, but they're going to keep making these shit, right? Oh, but not for now. It went from 3,000 to 4,000. Now, motherfuckers only selling it for $1,200. And then the gig is about to be up.
Starting point is 00:20:07 You're going to see in the minute. They ain't going to be able to resell them since for nothing. We'll see. What's the price up there? I'm showing the fellas, if you're not watching, the stock X prices. Let's say for this blue one, This is bioceramic.
Starting point is 00:20:21 It's 2,700, someone's listing in there. And that was only 300 to begin with. Yeah. 1,700 for some, 18114 for the red, 12 for the kind of white, weird blue. I mean, if you went and got those for 400, you flipped them for even more than 1,000. It's a good hustle move. But now, is that worth potentially kind of hurting your- It depends if somebody wants it that bad, bro.
Starting point is 00:20:46 It's limited edition right now. The guys that stood outside on the line, y'all are geniuses, y'all are hustlers. This is why I love New York. Y'all bought it for $300, $400, $400, whatever it is, and y'all triple the price on stock eggs and somebody who will buy it when they want to. Did you guys see that there was a couple of places? By the way. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:21:04 You're fighting over a $300. Play it. They was fighting. This one. You're saying it don't make sense when it makes sense. But they fighting over that shit? I don't think that makes no sense. So that's what I was going to ask you guys, right?
Starting point is 00:21:14 Because they had releases in, obviously, New York. Paris, Milan, Dubai, a lot of other major cities, right? A lot of lines got shut down and kind of messed it up for a lot of other people. I'm trying to find a good fight for y'all to check out really quick. YouTube's not going to like that. But is that corny to be fighting for some, quote-unquote, luxury jewelry? What happened in New York City? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Just another day at the office, brother. They did it for Jordan. We in New York City, man. They did it for a chicken sandwich. Yo, this is New York City, bro. I forgot we did do that over Popeye's chicken, right? They was going to crazy over the Popeye's chicken. It don't matter.
Starting point is 00:21:48 It's New York City, bro. A chicken sandwich. So what are we getting to shut the bodybuilder, a courthouse shooting breakdown? So he shot in front of the courthouse? So no, no, no. This is the courthouse. He got shot, right?
Starting point is 00:21:59 Well, yeah. So what did this happen? In front of the courthouse? So this happened in, there was a shooting outside of Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee. This happened on May 13th, right? Apparently he got into a whole verbal thing with somebody.
Starting point is 00:22:15 He was asking for it. And the blick came out. For the longest. Chud the bodybuilder, there's something called karma, and you have received some bad karma, bro. You know if he would have came to New York, he would have got gunned down in two seconds because people was getting tired of him anyway,
Starting point is 00:22:28 and he was going viral, and I think kick or whatever the streaming service he was on, should have been ending them, because anybody who spew out hate like that, it's just bugging out. Now, I mean, if you don't know about Chuddy, he's a gentleman who had a lot of controversy around him. Yeah, he was online going viral.
Starting point is 00:22:43 He was calling the hardy-r everywhere. He was calling everybody inward. Then he pep up. The girl exposed him and all that. Yeah. But in New York, it was some way worse would have happened to him. He never came to New York down there. I think he was getting away with a lot of stuff because, you know, like he did something
Starting point is 00:22:58 in front of police and I think one of the cops resigned to something like that allegedly. I don't know. But he said he was just like the N-word around and he was getting crazy. You knew something was going to happen to him eventually. It ain't where you from. It's where you're at. So when it just happened in New York, you knew something was going to happen to him. So that's what kind of went on him.
Starting point is 00:23:16 You know, he's reaching. You're doing too much. You asking for too much, bro. I mean, doing too much got him into a really big predicament because his bond was set at $1.25 million. Was that worth the streams? No, not at all. I mean, just him just spewing the hate out there
Starting point is 00:23:37 was enough for me. Like, I never really paid attention to the guy. I never wanted to talk about him because I knew his day was coming. Right? I was going to get killed or getting some dumb shit spewing that hate out there. So, Chad the Bobbieler,
Starting point is 00:23:47 have a good time in jail, they're gonna know how to really treat you in there. But that's another thing, right? Look, he's saying that he was saying he was just defending himself. But does that count like that
Starting point is 00:23:55 when your ran is like that? That guy was going crazy online every day and I feel like we should have had them all streaming a long time ago. Now we're going to the, to the light skin dude.
Starting point is 00:24:06 He's making all light skin guys look bad right now. Do that, man. The Julio Fulio killer, Sean Gatwright. Yeah. Now, there's word to be said that he has
Starting point is 00:24:16 a go fund me right now? I heard they said to him that bread. And let me tell you something. Crime don't pay, especially when you in Florida. Shout to Florida. At least New York, there is parole. Florida, there is no parole. It's just death sentence. So you go to trial.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Did you watch it on YouTube? They're going to trial. I saw a little bit. Not only for the life sentences, my brother, but for the debt. The sweat equity was crazy. You know what I'm saying? Disrespectful. Disrespectful.
Starting point is 00:24:44 You know, you know, The sweat equity was very crazy. But that's how Florida is, I guess. There's no parole. I have a life for the death penalty. And now they was, you know, he was crying on the stand. His sister went up there talked. I think his mother talked.
Starting point is 00:24:58 He used to be a good kid. And let me tell you, crime doesn't pay, especially when you're in Florida, bro. I'm just keeping it real. Death penalty, you can tell they hand that around. Like, it's nothing out. So they avoided the death penalty, though, correct? They all just got life with no parole.
Starting point is 00:25:13 So the official sentencing is not happening. for All 4May until June 22nd. So that's when they're going to do the official sentencing. Let me ask you guys. You think the crazy, what's the crazy one? Devon, I think it's Davon Murphy. What is it? Davon Murphy.
Starting point is 00:25:26 He was the crazy. The one that was in the, um, he was laughing. In the room. In the court. You know, did you see that interrogation? I seen it. Who's the guy with the big Tim's running?
Starting point is 00:25:35 He about to shoot his man. Like, yo, it was. And they were talking about him, correct? They was talking about him. And he was in there by himself and he was making gun justice, pop, pat, like, whiling out. You know, I don't want YouTube to. block us out. But it was a crazy case. And it goes to show you. Now these days, there's too many
Starting point is 00:25:51 cameras. Prime don't pay. They got cameras on the Tesla. They got, they got phone records. They got Airbnb trail. They got highway trail. Like, come on. Yeah. Yeah. You know, these dudes have automatic weapons. What you think is going to happen, bro? You're going to get caught up, bro. And, you know, like a dude like young and ace can't even come back to Florida. So they know in Jacksonville is a war. The same thing that they know in the streets, the feds know too, man. Who's the blame for some like this, though?
Starting point is 00:26:21 All that shit is unfortunate, man. It's just, I guess niggas come up in this drama, it's beef and they see it, pause, they see the, they only know a certain way to handle certain situations, man, but it's all unfortunate, honestly, man. But one thing, the difference between Davon Murphy and Sean Gatwright is Sean Gatwright's
Starting point is 00:26:38 crying. Dave-on-Mephy is smiling. So, I mean, if you do the crime, you got to be able to do the time. You can't be up there crying and have a go fund me, you got to go fund me after you killed a high profile rapper? That's kind of crazy, man. I mean, he got to go fund me. I ain't mad at him for trying to get some paper.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Did you see what he say on a stand? Y'all, I want to do good in jail. Bro, you got ops now. What are you talking about? Ain't no doing good in jail. When you go to prison, you're talking all that. You're going to do good and keep my head down. You're in prison now.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Ain't no being good and keeping your head down. When you go to prison is real. Any day could be your last. You know that. Yeah. So you being on a stand. crying ain't making your bid better. It's not a good look for it. It's not making your bid better. That's just my thing. He's not a good look. We can keep talking about jail a little bit.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Unfortunately, Kodak Black over the weekend was actually Angel twice. Twice in one week. So not over the weekend. Twice in one week. Is he locked up now? No? Shout to Kodak Black. Shout to all of those. Man, that's my, I love Kodak Black music. But, yo, you got to stay out of trouble. You got partying by it. You got to stay off the drugs. You got, listen, you got to stay out of trouble. I'm a legend. You do drugs, man. I mean, Leslie, we've seen that nigga popping
Starting point is 00:27:48 beans on live on Kassina. Everybody know he's an man to be. Yeah, yeah, you're right. That niggas is a drug. You threw it in the air. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:27:58 You definitely right. You gotta get some help, man. You just got to think about this. Yo, Kodak, you got pardoned by Donald Trump. You just got a chill. You got a chills, though. But what about, like, the people around you? What, like, what do they do?
Starting point is 00:28:11 Like, what, like, they're letting them. I mean, everybody you don't have businessmen around them. Somebody just got street through. What about family? I mean, they could talk to him, but once these guys make their first million, they're not listening to you. Yeah. It's kind of hard to tell you, you know, we was young and did a lot of mistakes too.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Like, when you young and you make your first million. Yeah, actually make dope music, man. So I really want to see him get better so he could really get back on that shit, because Kodak was one of them dudes that actually talked that shit for the young generation, man. The first time he got arrested, by the way, was May 6th, then got released. After that was arrested May 14. And then you got to-
Starting point is 00:28:43 You got to think about this. It's a trap. And I'm going to tell you what they arrested him for, though. Fleeing police. Yeah, he's fleeing the police apparently. And then one of his men's had the car, I think DNA was on drugs or something like that. That was the first case. Because they're out for you.
Starting point is 00:28:56 They let you know, we own you. Now something jumped out the car and started running. You got a pardon from Trump. You think them people's happy for you? They're not happy for you? He was doing a lot of changes. He cut his hair, too. Oh, he cut his hair.
Starting point is 00:29:07 He got the season now? Yeah. But now he's doing a whole switch up. Things are a little rough on the coat of black kind of timeline. I mean, things are not. I'm never rough for Kodak Black. He's rich. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:29:18 I ain't going to say, I ain't going to say it rough for him. I'm just saying to you. He just got to figure out some things. He just got a thing. You got pardoned by Donald Trump, right? You beat the odds, right? Just respect your blessings. Your family love you.
Starting point is 00:29:29 You got kids out there. You seem like a good person. You do mad stuff for your mother. You do. Kodak does mad stuff for the community. Shout to him. You know, hopefully he just stay out of trouble because I'm a fan of his music and I'm a fan of what he do.
Starting point is 00:29:42 I'm not mad that he's in the streets. He gives back to the streets. I respect that. But at the end of the day, if you keep catching these cases in Florida, it looks like Florida's not playing. No, Florida does not play at all. You know, Florida don't play. It's not no place to really do crime at, it seemed like. First of all, there's no parole.
Starting point is 00:29:59 At least New York, you got parole. You got a chance to see the light. Out there, it's like life or a flat beard, it seemed like, from what I'm seeing, or the death penalty get handed out like, it's nothing. You know what I'm saying? You got to think about this. Ed, Merck. This may. Radio celebrates Asian Heritage Month.

Starting point is 00:30:48 What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
Starting point is 00:31:01 But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band. the four Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down?
Starting point is 00:31:22 Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
Starting point is 00:31:32 and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy. Is there anything to the idea that because you're from Harvard, uh, you only got in because your parents made a huge donation. The yard birds, right? That's the name. The Harvard Yard, but they're open. Do you have a name suggestion?
Starting point is 00:32:23 We're open. Since you guys are middle-aged, one erection. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Humor me. I need some jokes to make me seem funny. Starting point is 00:32:48 Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than me. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian. And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, hope I'm a hypocrite, I'll be changing lives. Helping people in need with my sage advice
Starting point is 00:33:05 and thoughtful solutions. Syke! I'm a comedian! I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends as we riff rant and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man. If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice. One ring is too scary.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Cream a chicken suit. Hey, cream a chicken suit. This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help from Hypocrite as part of the Mike Coutura Podcast Network available on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Why is prison a trap? Now, you got cell phones, right? Right. With a cell phone, it kills half of the day for you.
Starting point is 00:33:53 You know what I'm saying? Imagine you got Instagram, you got sick time, all the chicks on there. You can hit your people. People on there. That's killing the day. Like six hours after day by the time I use it in the morning. I use it in the afternoon. Next thing you know it's dinner and chat.
Starting point is 00:34:09 It's time to go to bed. I got it. I'm rocking out. I'm chilling. I got the phone. I'm chilling. You're doing the time. But you know what that is, right?
Starting point is 00:34:18 That's a ticket. There's people in jail that's doing more time just for having a phone. You know what they take away from you with a cell phone? What? They take away your visits, I think, for a year. Damn. For a year? Yeah, they take away a commissary for a year.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Whoa. They take away your phone for a year. I'm like, all for a cell phone. They're doing no left. I got to ask some of the homies. Not to blow it up because people know when. It's like 10 grand. So if I borrow a murder phone and I get bused,
Starting point is 00:34:46 all my privileges took it away. Visits for a year, phone, and commissary. I might get help somebody help me with the commissary and then I owe murder 10 grand. Now, he on my neck. We might have to go what they call gun to gun, little kids. You don't want to go to prison.
Starting point is 00:35:00 You know what I'm saying? And now I owe him 10 grand for a phone. Part of my ignorance. The reason why it's a trap because you go in there, you got to defend yourself and you catch you more tickets defending yourself.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Getting busy. You got to. Part of my ignorance, But is there even a way to lessen that? Like, once they're like, yo, everything's out for a whole year. I heard, I heard they take away everything for like a year. And you go out of the box. Damn.
Starting point is 00:35:29 For a whole year. For like a whole year. No visits, no phone, no commissary. So what we got to do to get Kodak outside of from all that? I mean, how do we keep him away? He got to, he got a one to do it, though. Yeah, he got to want to really do it, though, man. He got to really want that.
Starting point is 00:35:44 He's a good dude. He's blessed. He just got to realize how blessed he is. You know, his mom's prayed for him. I see, you know, I'm Haitian, so I know, you know, people pray. Haitian, we big on pray. We big into, you know, into believing in, you know, God and Jesus. You know, I don't want to get into it too much because people don't like when you talk about
Starting point is 00:36:02 religion and politics, but he prays. His mom's prayed for him, you know, and he always gets out of jail. He's blessed got to pardon from Trump. Who's getting that? That's not, you know, everyday thing. So sometimes you got to take your blessings. realize I'm blessed. Right.
Starting point is 00:36:17 You know what I'm saying? Right. We talked about Drake doing three album releases. We talked about Kodak get a release twice from jail. Yeah. Let's get a little bit into about Lauren Hill, who says, who kind of explained why she hasn't dropped another album. What does she say?
Starting point is 00:36:35 Right. And her biggest thing was apparently was from, you know, drain of fame, needing the safety to create, just dealing with industry. I wanted to ask y'all, is there any? artists that you wish had dropped anytime soon? Or like... It would be Lauren Hill. Yeah. Because now we're in a more like
Starting point is 00:36:53 the female rappers are dope, the sexy res, the lottos, the Cardys, Nickies, the Molly Santana's now on Drake album, so now she's a star to Ice Spices. You know, shout to Stunner Sandy. I think she's from New York. Stunner Sandy. That's big. She's going to gain more followers. She's on
Starting point is 00:37:09 the Drake album. I feel like before it was only like, it was only like Kim, Kim, Foxy, Lauren Hill, Eve. You know, you had, who am I missing? I'm missing. I'm missing. I'm missing.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Missy Elliott. You know, there was a good amount, but now it's like, it's a lot of female rappers now that are dominating the game. You know, sexy red on the Drake album. You know, they dominate in the game. They do YK. Nees killing them. It's like, yo, it's like a new female rapper every day that's killing the game. And the females, the female market is bigger now for music.
Starting point is 00:37:44 It feels like it's 60-40. because the women are listening to their music that they like. So I feel like Lauren Hill was the come year. The lane is open. It would be Lauren Hill. She went through a lot, but all her albums were like classics. You know, she was dropping knowledge. She said she's thinking about dropping something now.
Starting point is 00:38:02 That thought is in her mind, but at the same time, it's kind of a question of, do you want to drop something else and then maybe hurt, quote unquote, hurt your legacy? Is that possible when it comes to Lauren Hill? I don't think it would never hurt Lauren Hill legacy if she dropped. because whatever she dropped is going to be dope. What do you think, murder? If it ain't dope, it could hurt a legacy. Because, I mean, people are critics.
Starting point is 00:38:29 So people are going to always judge and they're going to put that up against her other project and they're going to go, oh, man, she... You know how people are? People are going to go, man, she should have kept that shit. Listen, for me... That's how people are. People... I don't care how people are.
Starting point is 00:38:43 If it's not good, They're going to say she should have kept it. They're not going to go, oh, okay, that's Lauren Hill, so it was okay, she put out some trash. They're going to go, damn, man. She should have, man. She just, just chill. No, listen, Lauren Hill is going to drop a classic to me regardless
Starting point is 00:38:57 because I'm a Lauren Hill. If she's thinking about putting out music, you said. We're talking about putting out an album almost 30 years later. Who cares? Yes, we need that from Lauren Hill. Yes. Because everything is more of bars, bigging up the chicks, talking about Chanel's,
Starting point is 00:39:10 red bottoms or whatever, whatever fashions knew out, the biggest bag. You know, you can buy the biggest. expensive Louis, shaking your ass or bars. You know what I'm saying? So with her, she's dropping
Starting point is 00:39:21 Miss, what is it? Miseducation? Miseducation was last year. Yeah, that was, you could name some of them songs on there. Come on, bro. Like, the album was a classic. Come on.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Lois One was on it. Not Lost One was on there. Oh, Mr. Men on Peanut Butter and Jelly Man is here. What's up, DJ? How you doing? Pause, peanut butter and jelly men. There's a good context for that. I suppose.
Starting point is 00:39:44 I don't know. Just, I don't know. Just. Peter Putter the Jellyman. No, he said he's not going to... Helly off. Yeah, take it. He said he's not going to eat no steak until he make $10 million.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Okay. I'm mad at you, DJ. He's being... One million. What's the show? Theorist? Deerist Studios. Yeah, we got a show.
Starting point is 00:40:00 That's a movie. For context, he just... He commonly purchases a whole tub of peanut butter and slices of bread every week to eat for... But that's motivation for me because he said he's going to eat peanut butter and wheat bread until he make 10 million. I'm with that, man. To get back to Lauren Hill real quick, a lot of the tracks are, yeah, lost ones, yes, X Factor to Zion, Duwop Superstar, Final Hour, when it hurts so bad. It's a lot of tracks.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Everything is everything. Classic. Can't take my eyes over you. You can't take my eyes over you. You can't take my eyes off for you. But now, saying what you're saying now, 30 years later, what if she doesn't want to harness that? I think she should come with another album. That's just my opinion.
Starting point is 00:40:40 No, I think she should come another album too. I'm with me, man. I feel like she feels like she's in the creative space and she raised. to drop some music. I feel like a lot of music, there's a lot of young artists that are definitely doing anything. We just talking about
Starting point is 00:40:52 Don Tolliver's one. He's coming into town. Shout to him, his concert is going to be a movie. He's at USBS. He's at Madison Square. He's in Jersey. You know, lucky he dropped his album.
Starting point is 00:41:02 All my kids are fans of these people. I listen to their music, BK, the ruler. And their music is pretty dope. They got their cult followings. But a lot of the old school music is lasting forever. We had having.
Starting point is 00:41:15 on the show. We recently talked about 40 days he's doing. Banks right now is dope what he's doing. He's on tour right now. Shine selling out. Shine is selling out. It's like 50 just came off, you know, three years ago, 1009 dates were a live nation. Incredible tour. Murder working on something right now. You just made your 420 piece right now? Yeah. You know, it's like, it's like the older guys are lasting too. You know, they're touring a lot. You know, Drake is almost 40 and look, and he's still killing the game. Three whole albums. Facts.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Now, I guess that's kind of why I wanted y'all to talk about this, right? Because of the fact of the pressure of streams in the modern day. We get these three albums. And then it's like, are people really going to stream all three of them? Obviously, it's proving it right when it comes to Drake. I mean, he broke every record there is to be broken. So, I mean, what is it? He kills Spotify.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Spotify crash. You know, you didn't get a chance to listen. If you didn't get a chance to listen to all three albums, it's still time for that. I get on a long flight. We're supposed to be going to Malaysia and all these places. 20-hour flight. Listen, I'm going to listen to the third album. I listen to two albums.
Starting point is 00:42:19 That's good enough. 20 hours on the way back. There's more than 40 hours in there. And name the 10 top countries he dominated in. Dominating all over, man. But there's like 10 top countries out of America. All three albums right now is projected to be number one. Correct.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I mean, one, two, and three. Come on. God crash. Spotify, bro. And also, to question you guys, so I mean, U.S., Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom, mainland China, France, India, Germany, Australia, Japan, and that's just the start of it, right? And we're talking about only the first week back to talking about Iceman and the other albums. When it comes to you guys, though, how do y'all kind of work on y'all releases and y'all tracks and anything like that?
Starting point is 00:42:59 I mean, for me, like I dropped the 420 project, we got the Dispo, you know, shout to the unit dispo, power by indoor, strength for life, because we're in the cannabis world. Indoor mode, what up. You know, 7th Ave, 8th Ave, sensual. Pick, Cure Leaf, all these companies we deal with. You know, so I made a 420 project. I had Wiz on there, Burner, shout to them. I have murder on there, shout to him. I have my man Sosa on there.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Yeah. It's doing well. You know, we make an independent money, which Drake is going independent with that two, Billy, which is a good idea because a lot of rappers, we could still do numbers, but the numbers are different. You know, you might have went gold back then easy. And you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:43:41 but now it's kind of hard to go gold. If you go gold, you know what I'm saying, without a machine behind you or whatever it is. But a lot of people are making a lot of more money going independent. Just cater to your fan base. That's what I feel like nowadays. Just make the music that feel,
Starting point is 00:43:57 make the music that feel good to you and cater to your fan base. And whoever are your fans, they're going to support you just for being you. And the reason I ask is because you guys are obviously legends in the game. Definitely. Shout out the empire. I just did the deal with them.
Starting point is 00:44:09 I'm about to put out some new music. Shout to empire, man. Shout to Kvazooz. Gazi, my guy, Nima, Bobby up there. I just did a deal with. About to put out some new music. Definitely. You just got to stay true to your fans, man.
Starting point is 00:44:20 You know what people that really rock what you want to hear. So just give them that good music. Sometimes you can try a couple of new things here and there, but just, man, get your fans what they want to hear, man. That's for me. I'm an actor. Is that the new pursuit you have? I mean, yeah, I feel like I'm going to be one of the next big ones.
Starting point is 00:44:39 You know, I'm just me. I stay humble and be me and I think that's what you do in the game. Like shout to Max B Max B, you got to stay humble. I heard you're just in Big Daddy Cain. I know what you're talking about. I heard you this Big Daddy Cain.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Shout to Big Daddy Cain. You can't disrespect the legends. Big Daddy Cain is one of the guys that pioneered the game. Max B, you know, I love you from way back. Pause, if that's a pause. Because murder's going to say that. You caught.
Starting point is 00:45:05 You know, you weren't French.
