I feel like, you know, boots, a whole motion is built off
of Terrence Crawford.
You should think, to be honest.
I feel like he's a hater.
Okay, got you.
If I'm gonna be a 1000%.
It's a river port show.
It's all good.
That's what we do in Pitch.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir, yes.
I think he'll hate her.
Mm.
He didn't get stabbed.
Right.
Shut the fuck up.
Okay.
Brooms!
Brooms!
Yo, brother!
Oh, come.
All right.
Got my video.
You know, I'm gonna get him.
That's how my .
Yeah, it's the talk of New York, Tony, A.o.
And this is the Boy Uncle Murder, aka Led Jet Lennie.
And today we have the Future Hall of Famer, the man
with the hands, 42 and 0.
The legend.
The legend.
Make some noise for Terrence.
Crawford, the champ.
We call him Bud.
Make some noise for him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Yo, I didn't think you was going to show up.
I ain't going to front this our biggest interview all the year, man.
Champ.
Appreciate you, Chan.
Don't leave me hanging.
Leave him hanging.
Leave him.
Shut up, dick.
So how does retirement feel?
42 and O.
You know, I see you.
You're sports casting now, too.
Man, it's great. I'm living life. I'm traveling the world and I'm just getting the opportunity
to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Definitely. I see you with the kids a lot. Yeah. I always.
Name some of the places y'all went. We went to Tanzania. We went to Cairo, Egypt. I'm about
to take my daughters to parish or wherever they want to go since the boys. They did Africa.
So I just been enjoying them.
Definitely, man.
You see it.
Your son wrestle, right?
Yeah.
Just want to stay as a freshman.
So he still, you know, got three more years to try to be a four-timer.
Why wrestling and not boxing?
What made him go that path instead of boxing?
Well, I used to wrestle.
My dad, he was a big wrestler and boxer.
My grandpa and my uncles, they were state champions and things like that.
Okay, got you.
So wrestling and boxing is in the blood.
Okay.
So me personally, I just didn't want him in the box because of the head trauma and the magnitude of brain damage and things like that.
So I told him you can do anything but football and boxing.
Got you. Okay. Okay.
Man, that's real right there. Look at that.
That is crazy. North Omaha, you like the humblest guy in boxing.
I remember one day I remember we was at, we was in Shreve.
He ain't humbling the ring, nigger.
No, but he's humble. I remember he's in Shreve.
And I was like, he doesn't spend any money.
He's like 50.
50s doesn't spend any money.
Facts, okay, okay.
So I'm like, I'm like, yo, buy your lady a bag?
He was like, yo, yeah, don't be putting stuff in our head, man.
I had the knuckles.
I remember the knuckles.
I got kind of scared.
I was like, so what makes you so like, fine and swabby?
Because I've seen you on Joe Rogan and everybody talking about like the Mayweather thing,
how a lot of boxes spend money and, you know, but you don't spend any money.
Nothing.
Because of the stuff that nine times out of ten, a lot of people spending more,
money on don't mean nothing when you get it.
You know, I didn't bought cars.
Not crazy amount of cars, but just say if I spend $20,000 on a car,
still drive the same.
So why would I go spend $200,000, $300,000 to drive a car around us?
Going to get me to the same place that this $20,000, $20,000.
So you never wanted to landball for a room?
I never.
100 million, maybe I'm not.
That's a waste.
I'd rather spend that money on the asset, not a liability.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Something that's gonna bring me money in and not just take money away.
Got you, got you.
Got you.
You came back forever.
You can't do some things with Warren Buffett and all that too, man.
I see you doing some things with Warren Buffett and all that.
Well, we had a couple of meetings and we chopped it up and stuff like that.
Okay.
You know, Warren Cool.
Facts.
I think people, a lot of people,
I admire him for that.
Because it's like, yo, you know me, I'm like, yo, if I had that money, I could imagine
the shit I was buying everything.
So it's just like, it's not normal.
Like he's so humble.
It's like, you know, I mean?
You come from a small town, you know what I mean?
You just humble.
But you could make a hundred million like it's no problem.
And you don't spend nothing.
No Ferrari.
I'm surprised you got a Louis shirt on right now.
Kind of watch he got over there, murder, because I know he's buying watches.
I know he doesn't buy nothing.
He laid back with it.
He's chilling, man.
I'm chilling right now, man.
You don't buy nothing?
Why?
I don't need to.
It's crazy.
When you got money to buy anything you want, when you at the pinnacle of your sport, a lot of
things get given to you.
You know, people pay you to travel, you know, out of town and things like that.
People, you know, gift you things and then you just look up and you be like, man, it's crazy.
crazy because when I was broke, I couldn't get nothing and shit.
But now now I got money to buy it on my own, you know, it's gifted to me.
So I'm going to be buying it.
And you're teaching your kids to be humble too, because I know it was like, Dad, you got
all this money, you're not spending there.
They know.
Because if I don't grow on trees.
Your son's supposed to be asked you for a Lambo like that.
Yeah, get like two or three lamboes.
Yeah, get out there and get two or three jobs.
My wife, he get 10 Birkins.
You can do that.
I ain't married.
I ain't got to get no burkins.
All right.
Perkins for whoever you mess with, 10 Berkins.
That's you.
No, I don't have.
I can't afford it.
That's you.
I wish I could.
I'll leave that.
I'll leave that.
I'm making the investments.
I ain't think about that.
I got investments to make.
I mean, he's with Warren Buffett and all these guys.
And like I said, I've seen you on Joe Rogan
and I watched that whole episode because the whole Floyd thing.
Not saying he is broke, but you spend a lot of money.
You see him buy 20 cars, 20 watches.
So, I mean, I think that's the seller for him,
but the seller for you is you don't buy shit.
Because I spend money on the things that I enjoy spending money on,
like taking trips, you know, seeing my family happy, you know,
doing for the people that's in need.
Like, you know, I gifted over 700,000 to Africa to build this line.
Learning Center, you know, just things like that.
Like that makes me happy, you know, doing something that's going to leave an impact
and an everlasting memory and not only my life but my kids' life.
That's where, you know, I get the most joy from.
Right.
Because it's like you're a young guy with an old soul.
Yeah.
Because what's you doing in Norfolk, how?
You be fishing.
I know you're wrestling.
And I fish all over a little.
Fishing.
What you do?
be chilling out, the kids.
You know, either I'm taking them somewhere, picking them up somewhere, you know, at the
house playing the game with them, cooking, you know, riding the four-wellers, going in the
gym, playing basketball, going to my mom house, going to chill, going to the boxing gym,
and seeing what they got going on there.
That's a day in the life, same thing.
You know what I wanted to ask you, Chin?
Did you know you was going to retire, like, before the Canello fight?
Like what you were saying, however this turned out, this is over.
For sure.
Well, that's how you felt?
I already knew it.
You know, especially going through, I wanted to retire at 33.
Okay.
You know, but circumstances didn't line up with, you know, my decision at that age.
I went to retire after the Spence fight and then it was like, ah.
I just didn't.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I still need to get more respect on my name.
Like I still, yeah.
Yeah.
You know, I'd done enough yet to retire.
Gotcha.
So when I moved up another weight division, it was like, all right, now you're a four-way
world champion.
I still went that Canelo fight.
Got the Canello fight and then it was like, okay.
After this, I think, you know, it'd be enough.
Me becoming undisputed would be enough in three-way classes.
Hmm.
And you knew you was going to win?
Of course.
No doubt at all.
It wasn't a little bit of that done like, damn, this goal.
Did you feel like this was going to be the hardest fight for you though?
I actually thought it was going to be the hardest fight, being that he the size factor
and things like that and it's Canelo.
Like he cold.
Of course, you know, I respect Conello wholeheartedly.
So I'm like, man, it's going to be a tough fight, but I'm going to come out on top because
I know he can't handle my style.
What Spence, you felt was easy for you?
Because I'm up here at Shreveport and you told Bertho, it was me, you and him, we was eating
Dylan or lunch at the F-50 event and you shows your knuckles and you was like, you know,
you know, you're nother.
You know what I do.
And you beat the shit out that man.
You know what I mean?
I remember all that.
And I'm like, yo, that, like, you felt like he was easy and Conno was.
Listen, I just felt like styles make fights.
And me and Spence style was a clash course.
You know, he was a come straight fighter.
I'm a great counter puncher, boxer.
with power.
So I already knew my style was totally wrong for his style of fighting.
And when I told Berdo, you know, when we fought, because he,
Burdo was like, man, I fucks with you.
I fucks for him.
I don't know, man, it's going to be a good fight.
There's a lot of people down on you on that one.
I'm like, Bertel, watch what I do.
Like, you're going to see.
I remember you showed your knuckles at the table.
I was like, man.
He's going to fuck that guy.
I want some good money, man.
I bet a lot of people, I bet one of Jeremiah.
I bet one of the Jeremiah people's, I said, what?
I forgot this, man.
Want some good money.
So thank you, my brother.
I want a lot of money.
I mean, we've seen him with the energy-haired bowling flying down the court.
He won MVP.
This guy has a ball, rest who he'd do it all?
I said, what did I tell you?
I say he's an all-around athlete.
That's the thing about him.
He'd be in the boxing gym.
He'd be wrestling with the kids.
He'd be fishing.
He's like the all-around dude.
So you, lightweight, 2013, 2014, 135.
That's one category.
Junior weight 2015 to 2017, 140 pounds.
Well to weight 147, 218 to 2022.
And then 1 40, 2023 147, well to weight again.
These are all the fucking, how do you go up and down with the weight?
I never went up.
I never went up and I never went up, 135, 140, 147.
Yeah, right.
You went up.
So how do you do that, though?
You sustained like this?
Just within time, you know, when I was at 135, I was really struggling.
I shouldn't have been at 135.
So I really was struggling to make weight.
So when I went up to 140, it was a real short stay.
I had to get everything real quick because I knew that five pounds was a short stay.
Then I moved up to 47, then, you know, so forth.
And as you get older, your body.
get more dense, you know, the weight.
You can't lose it like you used to lose it when you was younger and you just fell out more,
especially when you're working out.
So that's how I was able to keep progressing in the weight classes.
You know what I want to do was actually to, man, being that we got you here really
like, what was your mindset to?
Because I was watching it the other day, right, when you was fighting Porter.
And I seen them in the corner, it was like, yeah, you're losing or something.
They told you like, yo, you might be losing this fight right now.
And then you came out like a fucking end.
Like, Real talk, did you really think you was losing at that time, though?
No.
If you watched the fight, I'm like-
I don't even think you was losing at the time.
I wasn't.
Okay, copy.
So when I heard that, I looked and I'm like, how?
And then, you know, and then Bo-Mack like, hey, pay attention, pay attention.
I'm like, man, they say I'm down.
be like, we gotta go, let's go.
You know what I mean?
Then I look and I said, he up?
He up.
Then it was like, they started pointing to him.
I'm like, all right, all right, okay.
So I took my last little deep breath, like relax, focus, you know, and go out there and handle business.
How do you do that though?
Like the crowd, it's always saying, you know what I'm saying?
This is like major fights, the crowd is there, the lights, the camera, the action, like, what's your
action, like, what's your mindset coming in the ring?
Like, because I know I'm like, damn, how to fuck?
So much stuff going on.
How do you focus on the task at hand?
Man, I always had the luxury of when chaos is all around me.
Only thing I'm focused on is the job at hand.
I get that from my mom.
You know, me and my mom and, you know, our trials and tribulations coming up to where I'm,
you can't do nothing and not.
me off of my game. So when I walk to that ring, I don't care about what nobody else
saying. They can't fight for you. I don't care what they chant in. I don't hear them.
I'm focused on eat, you know, kill or be killed. That's exactly what it is. So I'm locked
in and nothing that nobody can do can take me off of the person that's in front of me.
That's crazy.
Because I've seen something with you and your mom in North Omaha, and she was saying something like, she'll make you fight some people sometimes like that.
You got a shot before, too, right?
Yeah.
But it wasn't, it wasn't nothing like she had made me fight.
We had the gloves on.
You know, and she basically, like, she, if you can whoop them, I'd give you $5.
You know, that was the thing.
Like, I'm not about to lose in front of my mom.
Got you.
You're going to beat my ass.
Then I'm going to go in the house.
She's going to be laughing, give you the little $5.
And then she going to be my ass.
That's something that a lot of people didn't know.
She's going to beat my ass.
Why is she out there?
Then, you know, I didn't got my ass whipped in front of her.
Now she's whipping my ass for getting my ass with my own yard with my own gloves.
And making her lose money.
If you lost a fight, Mama Love was going to whip your ass.
Of course.
I've seen it.
She was like, yo.
You could whip them.
I've seen that.
No.
Don't definitely lose in front of your mama at all.
Mm.
That's gangster.
Yeah.
That's gangster.
So I know you invested in the boxing gym with the kids.
Talk about that because you do a lot of giving back.
Like you said, you have, I know you like over a hundred million dollars.
I know you got that.
Talk about giving back.
Because I'm saying, just gave $700,000 in Africa.
You know what I mean?
Talk about the giving back.
So we got a nonprofit organization.
a nonprofit organization, me and my coach, Beaumac.
Shout out to Bo Mac.
B&B Boxing, well, B&B Sports Academy.
And it's a non-profit organization.
It got boxing, it got wrestling, they got tutoring, things like that for the kids to come.
It's free for the younger kids.
The kids, 18 and older, I think it's like a $35 every month for them to come and train and boxing.
They go on trips.
and they do, you know, little fights around.
Got a girl, national champion, three-time national champion.
You know, like, it's beautiful for them to come to a facility that's a safe environment
that's in the neighborhood, like in the hood of North Omaha that's, you know, keeping them out of trouble.
Definitely, that's dope, man.
The hood love him.
Of course, so that's what I know that's dope, man.
Because they learn it from him.
I'm learning finance.
No, facts.
Because when we meet these rich guys with 50, they'll have like an Apple Watch or no jury.
You know, I feel like that.
Like he feels he's like the same as them, bro.
They like the material thing is like out the window.
It's more of what I'm doing for the community, what I'm doing with my kids, traveling.
That's more of what he likes.
That stuff don't mean for you at the end of the day.
It may make you feel like you, this type of person or that person will make you feel good
when you wake up in the morning to put on your jury and your clothes and whatnot.
But at the end of the day, you're still the same person.
You hear that these rappers?
Y'all hear that, right?
Because y'all always want to say, where's his chain?
What does he have?
I see the clip of yours go viral or Ryan Clark.
So when you told homie, I ain't no mind of money can make you come back.
And he was like, you sure, now you're doing it.
Now I know what type of person you were.
Yeah, you said he saw a soap for what was it?
10 minutes.
So it's really no amount of money making you come back at all, right?
No.
We know that already.
Do you see any fighters, though?
Because I see you as low going back and forth with boots, right?
Yeah, that was entertaining.
Just the competitiveness in you.
Like, don't nobody make you want to come back.
Oh, you're talking crazy.
Oh, so you think it can't happen.
You don't get that urge sometime when you hear people talking a certain way, like shit like that?
No.
Mm.
I used to, but now and I'm so...
I'm about to say, because knowing a fighter, this nigga talking too much.
Now I'm about to show them.
That's just a fighter.
That's what they won't.
You know what I mean?
Because if you look at the history of my career, I always was, you know, moving like that.
Like, man, I always had to feel like I had to prove a point.
I fought like I had to prove a point.
When somebody, you know, poked a bear, I felt like I got to bite them.
Gotcha.
You know, and that was a...
one of my downfalls because I fall like it.
When I get hit with a big shot, it's like,
oh, now we're fighting.
You forget about the whole technique shit.
Yeah, it's like, now we're fighting.
You ain't got me fucked up.
But, you know, in life, like, you gotta be able to control your emotions,
you know, at all times.
And I felt like that was something that,
ever since I was a kid, I wasn't able to have a
a hold of because I always should just get mad like and be like, I want to do something to you.
You know what I mean?
For real.
How was you when you got shot, though?
What happened?
Shit, just shooting dice and...
You shoot dice, motherfucker?
I used to...
Yeah, dude.
You know?
Just with the homies, you know what I should be, dicking, shit.
You know how to be.
About to leave and, you know, some niggas pulled up shooting.
I got hit in the car, about to pull off.
Who you got hit at, an arm or something?
No, I got hit no one.
You know where I got hit at.
You got where you got hit at at, I was.
You got it on the arm after that.
I got in the back of the head, though.
Oh, for real?
Yeah.
Damn, me.
Was you boxing at this time that you got shot?
I was supposed to fighting in two weeks, too.
Wow.
So I shouldn't have been out there in nowhere.
Got you.
You know what I mean?
That was God like, slap me upside my head.
Like you knew better.
Yeah, yeah.
Definitely.
It changed my life though because, you know, I started seeing what God had in store for
me.
Like, man, you got another chance better make the best out of it.
You know, so, yeah, once I stopped hanging out with certain individuals and putting my time
into my craft and having a son and things like that, that just, you know, just.
It's just 360, man.
I got something to live for now.
And I got another opportunity, you know, to do what I'm destined to do.
So, you know, I think that was a good wake-up call.
Got you, got you.
We glad you here, man.
Definitely, man.
Hall of Fame, you know, we appreciate what you do for the coach of boxing.
Back to the boots thing, because I know on Twitter you said something about a style like you would, like, never get close to me like that.
Like, what did you mean?
What did you mean?
What you mean?
It was something on Twitter.
Like you said something and Boots said something.
Like, well, he's retired, but you said something about like his style or fighting.
I think a lot of people always, like, that's one thing that they always go.
Because it went viral.
Everybody wanted to do it.
Boots and bugs.
We want to see that.
But I always, I feel like, you know, boots, a whole motion is built off of Terence Crawford.
He should think, to be honest, you know, because if there was no Terrence Crawford at this
pinnacle, who would they be talking about?
Who would they be comparing them with?
You know, I remember when he was a couple of fights in and people were saying, hey, man,
it's this little kid.
When he was an amateur, you know, in the Olympic trials, they was like, man, this dude
but this dude fight like you.
When he is pro, this dude remind me of you.
But, you know, so I just feel like, you know, I'm gonna let him have his error and wish him the best.
But how's somebody like, y'all don't even get cool, like a bench lift, he looking like a little you and you like, oh.
I feel like he's a hater.
Okay.
If I'm gonna be a 1,000 percent.
It's the river por show.
It's all good.
That's what we do.
Yeah.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir, yes.
I think he a hater.
You know, like, a lot of people say, oh, man, bud, all he's hating, like, what I
have to hate on him for?
Right.
You know, I didn't support him in the Olympic trials.
I didn't been in the locker room at his fights, you know, supporting him.
So why would I need to hate on him?
Got you.
You know, like I said, I want to see him win.
I want to see him go far as far as he can.
But I think people do the same thing with Boots as they did with Spence.
Right.
You know, and it's our people.
It's the urban community that does it.
Oh, boost this, boost is knock you out.
And then, you know, the people that, you know, support me, they, man, buddy this, buddy.
Then some fighters fight it yourself getting caught up in that, you know, and then they asked about it.
Oh man, he easy work.
I ain't easy work.
No, man.
You know what I mean?
That's just, you know, disrespectful.
Mm-hmm.
You know, like you just head over the height, you know.
I don't look at no fighter as easy work.
That's a professional on that level.
I don't care who you is.
Right.
Like, I got to prepare for you, you know, to a certain extent that,
you know, you could possibly threaten to beat me.
Or you wouldn't be in this position.
So for him to sound easy work, it's just like, man, you're disrespectful, boy.
Yeah.
Tripping down.

What fight do you really want to see?
What's like a real good fight right now?
You know she calls his guy.
Javonte and Chiquot.
Say it.
Go ahead.
I want to know.
I want to know what the champ thing.
That's definitely number one.
Okay.
Told you.
Chiquot.
Chacore.
Chiquot is a beast.
And Chacore and Devin.
Kishan Devin.
Mm.
I actually want to see Better Beav.
B-Var again.
They had two massive fights.
They split one-in-one.
Okay.
I want to see BAM and in a way.
I think them, like, the big fights right now,
I actually want to see Tyson Fury and Joshua.
Oh, shit.
That's been a fight that's been...
That's supposed to happen for so long.
Yeah, definitely, definitely.
So, you know, right now in their careers,
I think that would be a good fight for both of them.
You know, so I think them the big fights right now.
I want to see Devin and Ryan again.
Oh yeah.
I'm about the same.
Yeah.
You ever think about getting fighters or no?
You just want out the business.
Relax.
You're different.
And I'm relaxed right now.
You know what it's just about you?
Like, Nass said, people fear what they don't understand.
Hey, what they can't come.
Yeah, definitely.
That's just a theory.
They're just saying.
You made that singing loud.
But they don't understand them.
That's right right there.
You know, because once I get my hundred mill, man, I'm gonna be different, man.
But that's why they want you to flash.
They want to see the jury.
They want to see you rocking what they will rock.
That's why everybody always have an opinion, you know, because if you get money and everybody
say you get money, why I can't see it?
Why you not showing it?
Man, they lying.
They try to entice you.
Like, where your jury?
Where are your cars?
Where the clothes at, you know.
You know, before you know and now, you're playing in into their game and doing all that
shit.
Then when you're around a real rich, you know how it is, man.
They don't have, we went, like, we was Italy somewhere.
I said, murder, don't weigh your chains, it's different.
Tillman is there.
Scott owns Houston Rockets or other teams.
DJ Rumpers there.
They don't care about that.
No jewelry.
Apple Watch.
Yeah.
The watches they spend.
Yeah, they like, they like, they spent money on the watches.
They spent, they know.
He had an Apple Watcher.
He did.
Then, there had an Apple Watch.
Wasn't no Richard Millie on his rich.
It was Apple Watch.
Then.
Then, but you put them in a suit.
Put them in a suit.
Put them in a suit.
They got their collections.
They got their collection.
Definitely.
And everybody's mad at them.
The car dealers are mad at them.
The dealers are mad at them.
The designer stores are mad at them.
Like, you know, it's bad.
Sort of like Eminem.
That's why when you, you brought them out one time.
Definitely, yeah.
Yeah.
I remember when you bought them out, I was like, oh, these are both the same guy.
I never seen Eminem and them buy anything.
Yeah.
Like, I probably seen one Rolex, probably 50, or, or, you know.
Rosenberg, Paul Rosenberg, Woodenville, but I never seen it with anything, like comics in
the big mansion.
You know?
You don't need all that stuff.
You know what I mean?
Once you realize that that stuff don't mean nothing to you is just an expense.
You be like, man, what I need this stuff.
People are facts.
You know, all they're doing is drawing unnecessary attention.
You know, you got all these chains on, you walking around now you got to, you know, you
Shut the fuck up.
He ain't talk about me.
He got to be on defense.
Damn, he got to be on defense.
When you walk around, when you walk around the streets of New York,
if you're not with a group of individuals with your chain,
do you be like, man, damn, man.
No, I'm kind of relaxed.
It depends on who you was a person.
You be relaxed.
Like, I'm good.
I'm cool.
Because you're like, man, people,
respect me and people know.
Yeah, so I'm not worried about shit like that.
But you know what-
But you still gotta be on point.
Don't get it.
You still got to be on point.
You still a risk.
It's still a risk.
This is a risk.
This is how I'm looking at it right now.
Yes, of course.
You know what I be bugging, chint?
It's that murder got on three chains and you got a court chain on.
You have a half a billion.
Come on.
Me's your mom, but he has a porch chain on.
Show him the jewelry.
Show him the court chain, man.
That's a sentimental piece of it.
Cemental piece from my brother right.
No, rich dudes, they don't buy nothing.
Rich dudes, they'll get it for free or they just want to watch, the watches and stuff
like that.
They're not buying a...
I told you, I'll have surprised he had a Louis shirt on.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Surprise.
That's the Chip.
That's how he moved, man.
That's right.
You know, I gotta ask you, who's your top five dead all live boxes all the top.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
Like, okay.
But when we...
When we talk about top five is we're talking about...
You know what I give you top ten?
Top five.
A little while ago.
He said, y'all didn't know Egypt was in Africa.
No, we did.
We did.
I just thought Egypt was Egypt.
But hold on, back to my top five.
Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Mayweather.
You, of course.
And what I put there?
George Foreman.
For real?
George Foreman wasn't nice to you?
Wasn't like...
Was he?
George Farmer was nice to you?
I'm Henry Armstrong over Joe Lewis.
I mean, you know more boxing than me.
I'm just...
Now, me, I would have had to go Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Territz Corfitt, Mayweather, and just
growing up how it was with me up, Sugar Ray Liddick.
That was...
That's nice thing.
I was really loved.
That's my tough.
Yeah, Sugar Ray was nice.
He was tough.
People always thought he couldn't pull it up, but he was tough.
Sugar Ray was tough.
Now, you know, I remember you said you don't want you in the box and you don't want him to play football.
What's the hardest time you've been punched?
Like, what fight you feel like?
Like, yeah, what was your heart like?
Benllo or like.
Benboa.
Gamboa?
Yeah.
Yeah.
He hit hard like that?
Man, when he just caught me.
Ben cocky.
Boom.
Come up.
My leg got stiff.
I got the dragging it.
Come here, let me hold you.
Now are we going back to rest.
Look at that.
You know what I mean?
Come here, let me grab you up real quick, gather my thoughts.
You know what I mean?
Like, that's the only time I've ever been hurt that bad in the fight.
Damn, I would think Conno hit the hardest, no.
No, I'm just saying, he wasn't able to hit me with a clean shot like Gambor did.
Like, Gamboa, like, really, like, rattled me.
And that had a lot to do with the weight, too, losing all that weight and, you know, not being there.
know, not being able to get all the fluids back in my brain and things like that.
So when he called me, it was like, boom.
Damn.
Come here.
Let me gather myself.
Now I'm mad.
Now what happened after that.
I saw something with Bradley too saying like you kind of started with him.
Like he kind of took you in early.
I think you and him was sparring.
He kind of said like, damn.
You was like up and coming.
And he was like kind of ready out there.
He said, y'all was sparring.
He said you kind of put the beats on him.
They put a calling like, yo man, this Crawford kid is the truth.
But they said you was hard to work with at the time, I guess.
That was the word that he was saying, like, speak a little bit about that.
No.
So me and Brandon, me and Tim Bradley, we had the same promoter and the same manager.
So my coach called me up one day and say, hey, do you want to go spar to Tam Bradley?
I'm not fighting at all right now.
So I'm definitely, you know, I need the money because shit, man.
I'm in the streets and-
Oh, it was a money play.
Okay, got you, okay.
And I'm training.
Got you.
So I'm always in a gym.
So I'm like, shit, man, let's go.
So he like, man, is Terrence big enough because Bradley sending a sparring partner's home?
Like he's breaking ribs and he really beating these dudes up.
And Boatim like, man.
And if he whoop Terrence ass, then you can send him home if he can't handle itself.
But I assure you that he can handle itself.
He's like, all right.
Like, my manager didn't want me to go out there.
Your manager didn't want you to go?
No, he didn't want me to go.
Because he thought that Bradley, Bradley was fighting at 140, I was fighting at 135.
So he was just like I wasn't big enough, I wasn't strong enough and blah blah.
So I go out there, first day we spar, you know, boom, boom, boom.
I dropped him, you know, and...
You dropped them, man.
He had that part, yeah.
We're going back and forth.
And he like, man, who the fuck up?
He like, man, who the fuck is you?
And I'm like, what?
Like, I'm sitting to him talking.
And we just sitting on the ring.
He's like, no, dog.
Like, who the fuck is you?
Like, where you come from?
Like, I'm like, Omaha, like Nebraska.
He's like, dog.
You ain't no fucking sparring partner.
And I'm like, I'm sitting there like, what?
Like, fuck you mean by that?
He's like, you're a fucking world champion.
Like, no blinking, look me dead in my eyes and was like, you're a fucking world champion.
Like, what is you doing?
Like, what is they doing with you?
What is you doing?
Like, what's going on?
And I'm like, shit, man, don't anybody want to fight me?
I said, I can't get no fights.
I'm just sitting.
He's like, what?
Like, hold the fuck up.
You know, who?
Camry?
He was like, hold up.
So he, give my phone.
So he called Cameron.
He was just like, hey, Cameron, what you doing with this kid?
And he was like, ah, man, why?
What's up?
Don't tell me you sending him home to.
He was like, fuck, no.
He was like, this motherfucker just kicked my ass.
Like, you know, if you're not doing with him, let me buy his contract.
Then you see a whole totally different tone.
He's like, ah, no, nah, nah, he just, don't nobody want to fight them.
It's hard to get fights.
We're gonna do something with him and well.
And Tim, like, what's shit?
Well, y'all need to hurry up because, you know, you don't know what you got on your hands.
And he's like, yeah, I know he's a talented fighter.
He was like, no, this motherfucker's a world champion.
You don't even know it.
So after I left training camp with Tim, that's when I got the opportunity to fight Brettis Prescott,
Short notice.
What year was there?
In 2012.
That was like one of your biggest fights, first weeks.
Yeah.
On HBO.
Yeah.
Put the world on notice right quick.
Definitely.
42 and no, man.
Definitely.
That was dope right there.
So Bradley did a good thing, man.
Shut out to him for that.
That was dumb.
Real facts.
That was dope.
That was crazy.
Humble beginnings, man.
He's still humble.
Facts.
But now he has business.
Yeah, his God.
Go.
You know he got about 500.
Come on, man.
He got about 500.
Damn.
He kept up and up.
He keeps going up and up.
You hear this nigga, right?
You hear this thing right.
You hear this thing right.
You hear this.
... that I don't ever wear unless I go out of town.
Was you excited when you got your S-B?
Yeah, it was cool.
I was excited.
It was cool.
Best Fighter at the World's time.
It was cool.
It was cool because I got all the awards out of the dough.
You know, fighter of the year, the ring fighter of the year, the ASP.
You know, I won all the awards there is the way.
Not too many people go out on top paws like that.
Like you really did it and went out the right way.
Yeah.
Like, and that don't really happen.
That's what I said, you know.
Everything was great.
I don't think there will be another fighter to go out like I went out.
You know, undisputed.
No, exhibition shit and none of that neither, right?
Nah, of course.
The exhibition fights, like, how we posted seeing, for instance, Mayweather versus Tyson
and crazy shit like that, right?
You never know, though.
I'm about to say, like, look, calm down.
Look, calm down, brother.
My brother might do an exhibition fight.
My boy is fishing and traveling the world.
It's different.
But do you look at an exhibition fight as a real fight or those?
No, it's entertainment.
Okay, copy.
You look back, you know, Muhammad Ali.
He did exhibitions.
Oh, okay.
You know, Floyd, Tyson, like, fighters do exhibitions, like, because the fans still want to see a part of it.
A little something got you.
You know, they want to have, you know, that moment.
And then the younger fighters that was too young to, you know, take notice and follow your career, they just want to, they don't care what it is.
They just want to see you in the arena because that's not what you're known for.
And then the people that was following you that grew with you, you know, they just want to see you back.
in the ring see a glimpse of the old fighter that they once fell in love with.
So you might do it.
I don't see him doing it because right now, like, the YouTube fight is popular.
What's you feel about that?
Like you got baddies fighting Big Lex and Taseki and Ray J's on the card with Orlando,
Zeus.
You got Jake Paul and you got food face.
No, no, no, no, no.
You got DDG.
How do you feel about these YouTube fighters?
Jake Paul is on a different level than the
those people that you just know.
You can't, you cannot, I repeat,
you cannot put Jake Paul in the same category as those YouTubers.
Got you.
Because Jake Paul is considered a real fighter right now.
Okay.
Like he just fought Anthony Joshua.
He got locked up.
So you got, it doesn't matter.
He got, I feel you.
Would you get in there?
Who?
With Jake Paul?
No, no, no.
Who?
But Jake Paul or Anthony Joshua, you're not getting in there.
You're not getting in there.
If the money's right.
If the money's right.
I was just saying.
The money's right.
But is you going to go in there and try to win?
Or he's just going to be like, man, this dude hit me.
It's just going to be over.
Yeah, he ain't going to get here.
I fight Jake, too.
No, we talk about Anthony Joshua, so he'll break your job.
Exactly.
Jake Paul killed me too, man.
No, but, like, you know, he really dedicated his life to perfecting his boxing career.
And over the years, we've seen him get better and better.
You know, that's why I respect Jake so much.
I got to say, y'all put some respect on his name after he got to.
You got to.
No, you just got to because you see him putting the work in.
You know, he's not doing all the extra stuff outside of, you know, boxing.
You don't see him doing the little YouTube stuff no more.
He's boxing.
He's training, like really trying to be a world champion.
So you got to respect that.
We put him on another level.
What about the other YouTube fighters?
What you put about that?
I ain't seen none of it.
You know, I know.
I know big legs about to fight to Shiki.
Yeah, I watch that.
That's like being good.
Yeah.
And Ray J's on the car with Orlando, so you know that's going to be the crack-up.
Oh, my God.
Orlando from the Lando?
The crazy kid.
I don't even know.
Did they really about to fight on that time?
Ray Jays back on it.
You can slap them more money.
I know.
I know.
It's entertainment.
Oh, man.
You know what you guys got to fight more so we can have more entertainment?
You think everybody's scared to fight you call?
Yes.
Why?
Why?
Because he's great.
He hit hard, right?
And ain't that he hit hard, it's just that.
He's hard to hit.
And I think people don't like that.
Yeah, they don't like that.
They don't like that.
He mastered the martial arts of hitting not get hit.
Mm-hmm.
If you master something in a sport that's one-on-one, only a select few people is going to be
crazy enough to be like, man, I want to fight him.
I want to test him out.
You know, just say if you match him.
master, you know, wrestling.
Right.
You know, and you was one of the coldest wrestlers ever.
You know, it's going to be people that be like, ah, they're going to go in there like, they
used to go in there with Tyson.
Like, man, I can't beat this dude.
Like, man.
Everybody lost in their mind then, man.
And it's going to be some dudes like, man, he's going to have to beat me.
He's going to have to show me.
Like, I'm just as good as him, you know?
And I think that's what it comes down to with boxing.
Like, people are scared to lose.
is scared to lose and he's not scared to lose.
You know, he's putting his talent and his craft on the line every time, like, hey, show
me that you can be.
And the people that know that it's going to be a tough time, they're like, I don't even
know if I want to go through that, you know, because I want to keep my old.
I think that's what to come down to.
But what is something with him and Devin Hayton in the middle of the forefront of that, I think, correct?
Like, they're supposed to be fighting.
I feel like somebody like you would have made it happen at this point already.
Like meaning like, you know what, fucker, we gonna figure out, we're gonna meet in the middle
at the way class.
Because I know this to fight everybody wanna see.
Like fuck all is going back and forth.
They're trying to, oh, no, you come down.
Let's meet in the middle and let's just make this shit happen.
It's different in Shakur situation because he just moved up to 140.
Okay.
He doesn't have two fights at 140.
He had one fight and you telling him to move.
to move up again.
Got you.
You know, he's not a big dude.
Okay, got you.
You know, Shakur is little.
That's like, you know, them telling me, all, you need to go fight Benavides.
Like, dude, I had one fight at 154.
I had one fight at 68 when I jumped up two-way.
Five, there you go, top five.
When we talk about top five, like...
You mean weight classes?
You're about saying that?
No, is we talking about like overall inside and outside the ring or is we just talking about
I like, just the ring.
Because we know a lot of boxes made a fucked up,
made bad decisions outside of the ring.
Just the ring.
Just fighting, just the ring.
I got to put Ali up there.
Backs.
I got to put Sugar Ray Robinson.
I got to put Roy Jones in his prime.
Definitely got to put Floyd Mayweather.
You can put yourself in there too, champ,
because you can't deny what you did.
I can't put myself in.
Okay.
Okay, okay, all right.
And I probably put Joe Lewis.
Mm.
It's my five right there.
You know, y'all?
What's your five?
Yeah, I would like to know.
Mike Tyson is, I mean, my alma-and-a-li will be on there.
Mike Tyson.
You had to put Tyson on there because you're from New York.
Yeah, Tyson.
Brooklyn.
Let's go, baby.
Is Brownsville in Brooklyn?
Yes, man.
Brownsville's in Brooklyn.
See, I know, I just asked.
We just put you on, yes, chance.
Well, yeah, it's all good because we didn't know.
Hold on.
Just because he's like, people gonna look like, damn, how the champion?
How he ain't no Browns that was in Brooklyn, right?
We didn't know Egypt was in Africa.
I'm not saying we ain't know Egypt was in Africa too.
He just put us on that.
He's turning five.
You're not spending nothing.
100, 200.
He's not spending nothing.
Look at his chain, murder.
Look at your chance.
I mean, it's all good.
That's how you do it.
That's how you do it.
That's how I be sometimes.
I must follow your financial advice, but.
I know this from Tanzania.
But you know, see, I still make investments though.
I still make my Bitcoin investments and stocks.
I still do things.
I do this.
This is all good.
I do this for show, but you know that, yeah.
I like my man with a Quartz chain.
I'm still investing in all that, man.
I'm getting the course change better from home in Tennessee.
I like it.
That's good for the chin.
I told you, I'm surprised he got a Louis shirt on.
I never seen.
I don't ever be getting dressed.
I got a closet full of new class.
But now I got to go up and fight the monster.
Like, come on.
What I'm trying to do here?
Definitely.
Like, I see what y'all trying to do.
but Shakur can easily make 135.
Like he went up to 140 for the opportunity, you know,
and Devin's a nice size 147, you know,
and Devin gonna be hard to be too.
Like, ain't nobody just going in there, like, no.
Like, those two fighters right there,
they're gonna, you know, make each other great,
and it's gonna be a tough fight for both of them, you know,
and throw Keish Shoeh.
Sean in there and it's going to be hell as well.
You know, throw tank in there is going to be hell as well.
Of course.
So those guys right there is holding the keys to the 135 and 140.
I even say Ryan Garcia too.
I like him.
Ryan Garcia.
I know he had the drug problems though so it's a little that's the stain right there.
Ryan Garcia ain't going to meet them guys.
Okay, got you.
You know, of course, him and Devon, he had their number.
you know, with all the antics and stuff that went in in the fight what they went in.
But- What you think Devin was slipping because of all the antics?
I just think Devin wasn't as focused because Ryan caught him sleeping.
You know, if you watched the fight, he got hurt early and he was trying to get back, but, you
know, credit to Ryan, he ain't letting that boy get back, you know what I mean?
So, you know, that's what it mainly streamed on.
like hitting him with the same punch.
Like, nah, I know what got you the first time.
So I just think that was a big part of that fight.
It's him getting hurt so early and not being able to recover.
And then when he did recover a little bit, he get cracked again.
It's like, boom.
Put him back in that space.
Back in that space.
Yeah.
Gotcha.
But you've seen his heart, though.
Because when he got dropped, he came.
He didn't want to stop.
He didn't want to stop.
He got dropped come right back.
You know what I mean?
And a lot of fighters, a lot of people, they'll talk stuff and say, oh, Devon, it's a...
But man, you see the heart that boy showed.
Right.
Man, he bit down and like, man, come here, let's fight.
You know, hey, that boy showed heart and guts.
And you can't teach that.
You can't teach that.
So he's tested and, you know, a lot of other fighters that you see.
They're going to have to show them that they can beat them.
Got you.
Got you.
What's some good advice you would give some up-and-coming boxes?
I tell them, I'll tell them, you know, stay disciplined, stay dedicated, stay focused.
Because like a lot of fighters, they get off their rocker when they start getting a little money.
You know, they get a little money, then they start buying the clothes and buying the cars.
They got the girls, the women.
Yeah.
living a different lifestyle than they once was living before they was on the grind and they
even scratched the surface yet you know they just you know hood rich got a hundred
thousand dollars and now they're thinking that they rich rich rich and they just tend to lose focus on
the mission you always got to have that that mission in your site like all right this where i'm
headed all this shit gonna be there when i when i get done but but
But I'm going right here, right now.
I'm sacrificing now so after boxing, I can be, you know, straight or become a world champion
or make the most money that I possibly can in the sport of boxing.
And you start seeing people drinking, partying, and going out and hanging out with rappers
when they get a little name and, you know, they just start doing things that they never once
was doing before.
And then you start seeing the moves.
And then it's like, damn, man, that dude was talented.
Why you started losing?
It's because his focus got, you know, altered by everything around them.
And not to throw no say like that, I think we watch it in the real time.
You think my brother A.B. could come back because he got caught up in all of that.
Yeah.
I feel like he got caught up in exactly what you just said, right?
And now I see him like trying to make the comeback and all that shit.
You think he can make that comeback?
It's going to be tough because he beat his body up so long.
You know, it's going to be real, real tough because now, like, what division he
coming in if he come in at 140, 147, like, he got them young killers that's holding
the throne right there.
You know, he come in at 54, he got them killers right there.
now it's going to be tough.
Gotcha.
It's going to be like, where can you fit in at to become another world champion?
Right.
It's like I don't see him becoming a world champion at 154.
I don't see him at 147.
I think that would be the idea weight right there.
Yeah, ideal weight 147.
But if you could, I wish him the best.
Like, I'm cool with A-B, but me just speaking them.
real terms. Like, it's gonna be real.
I think he know that too. He know that shit too. He know that shit too. He know that.
When you were training, it's no sex for real, though? Is that real?
I'll fuck all the time.
What?
This shit is so bullshit. I thought that...
It's bullshit. I thought everybody had no sex on it.
But it's different. It's different for different people.
So you said some people do go like that. Some people are right, copy. But you different,
man.
Yeah. I got to, I want to be relaxed.
I don't know.
It's amazing.
I don't want to be all uptight.
I thought there was no sex at all.
I said, maybe for them niggas.
Not for me, Nicky.
Not for me.
He heard you, Chip.
Heard you.
Heard you.
Now, he stayed focused, man.
That's dope, man.
That's dope.
Stay focused, man.
Got to give it up to him, man.
Stay focused.
So what's next stuff for the champ, man?
Life after boxing.
What's next, man?
I told you, man.
I'm chilling, man.
Just chilling.
He's chilling.
He fishing, traveling to world.
He just went to Africa and Egypt and Egypt.
Africa is the same place.
I mean, yes, the same place.
You figured that out today?
He's chilling.
Facts, no, thanks.
ESPN money, something like that.
You know, they're gonna give him $100.
We went to a dinner for you.
That's how we shut out the 50.
50, yeah, I went to a little spot we got in the city.
And Fibb was like, yo, man, I'm about to go see Bud,
to chin, me having a little private dinner.
He's like, man, if that, pull up, man,
you need to holl at him to get him to get him the podcast.
For sure, murder, you made that happen.
It's a big interview with you.
You know what he is.
We pulled up and we made this shit happen, man.
Who would you love to see Clarissa Shields fight?
Because I knew you got a good relationship with her.
Mom and Ali Dada.
No.
No.
That fight is too outdated.
Yeah.
Leave Layla alone.
Yeah, like Layla paved the way for Clarissa to become who she is today.
You know, you gotta pay homage to those athletes and fighters that work, you know, tremendously
hard to make a name.
for women, the sport of women boxing.
Right.
You know, like you can't, like Christina Martin.
Like, you can't, you can't discredit them for fighting in the time and they are just like
there's going to be another Clarissa Shields come after Clarissa and women boxing may be way bigger than it is now.
But she going to have to respect what Clarissa Shills did and what Layla Ali did before Clarissa
or shit like that.
Yeah, because if you think, like, back in the day, Layla was the highest paid female
boxers.
You know, now Clarissa is the highest paid female boxer.
But before Clarissa, it was Amanda Serrano.
So these women, they make a, they stand in the sport of boxing to, you know,
keep, you know, progressing and putting the widespread on the sport itself.
And who do I want to see her fight?
I had to ask you that.
I mean, listen, man, I'm cool with Michaela.
I want to see him fight.
Her and Michaela, man.
Mikaela want that fight.
Facts.
She want that fight.
And every time we talk about boxing or we talk about, you know, her and Clarissa,
D wants the fight.
And I'm like, I don't want to see it then.
I want to see it.
I don't be clever that's a ducking the smoke though.
I think they can set that up.
She ain't ducking the smoke at all.
She ain't dug in no smoke.
Facts.
You know, just like Michaela, I ain't either.
Okay, copy.
You know, but I just want to see it.
They know each other.
They been around each other.
Let's make it happen, boxing world.
Let's make it happen.
So y'all know what it is.
We got the biggest interview of the year with the champ.
Facts.
