We find little nuggets, treasures, valuable pieces of gold in the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast and pass them on to you, perhaps expand a little bit. We are not associated with Joe Rogan in any way. Think of us as the Talking Dead to Joe's Walking Dead.
Starting point is 00:01:11 You're listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review. What a bizarre thing we've created. Now with your host, Adam Thorne. This might either be the worst podcast or the best one of all time. Two, one, go. Enjoy the show. Alright folks, we're all time. Two, one, go. Enjoy the show. Alright folks, we're here for another Joe Rogan Experience Review.
Starting point is 00:01:30 First off, we want to give a shout out to some of our Patreons. Well, the one that I have pulled up in front of me, Rachel Zander just joined. Thank you so much. If you're a listener of this podcast, you want to support us, the best way to do that, head over to Patreon. Look through the different tiers we have. We've got more to come with what we're doing with Patreon, but we really appreciate that support. This week we are talking about Theo Von. Theo Von on Rogan.
Starting point is 00:01:59 And I have a little clip just to start it off that I believe they're talking about Alex Jones. Here we go. I certainly think there's a percentage that conversation is real. What conversation you mean? When people think that people have been co-opted. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:13 By the government, like they've become, what is that one that they like to use? Controlled opposition. That's what, if you want to pretend to be a smart conspiracy theorist, you have to say controlled opposition. I could easily see. Bro, in two weeks, Tom Segera will be playing this guy. He looks great that's all it is he looks great.
Starting point is 00:02:29 But he doesn't look like the same person. Not at all dude. Because he's laid off the booze he's laid off the booze he's not eating any bullshit. What was he drinking? A lot bro. Really? Yeah he's investigating satanic pedophiles all day long. Yeah, you bring back a please one time brother. Satanic pedophiles all day long. Oh yeah. Yeah, sometimes you wanna take. That's Theo and Joe getting into it, getting heated, having a great time and discussing Alex Jones
Starting point is 00:02:55 losing a ton of weight to clean himself up. I mean, good for him. It's, you know, it's a big, big thing to do to kind of turn yourself around your life. And especially when you, like they said, you spend your days digging into crazy conspiracies and things that so dark and, um, I would drink too. So yeah, that must get so exhausting if that's all you're looking at. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:20 At least watch like cute kitten videos for a few minutes a day. Give yourself a break. Just before bed. At least you won't have nightmares. I can't imagine his sleeping is good, especially after the recent lawsuit issues that he's had. I will say one thing, Fiora seemed sharper this time. He was a little off last time.
Starting point is 00:03:44 He kept asking Joe, like, is that making sense? Am I doing okay? I'm freaking out. I don't know what was happening with him, but Joe was pretty good about just keeping the ball rolling and keeping the pod going. And I think Theo got over it, but yeah, this time around, a bit more excited.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And this is a bit of a kind of getting close to the inauguration. You know, Theo obviously played his part in interviewing Trump, and we know Rogan did. So I think that there's just more of that kind of conversation of what's happening right now to have between them. You know, again, it doesn't take anything away from the silliness and the fun of anytime Theo comes on. But at the same time, it's like, hey, let's get into kind of what's going on. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Theo. As his podcast continues to get big, he's still going to be Theo von, but with access to the type of people that he can interview now, just because of the size of it, I wonder if he will start delving into more serious issues. And he has plenty of moments of being serious as well. Yeah, I mean, back to what you said first, like the, Theo was on, like he was on top form,
Starting point is 00:05:12 like he was himself. And I said it in the last time he was on, which was not that long ago, that he seemed off, he seemed sad, I was feeling for him, wanted to give him a big hug. I'm like, Theo, poor guy, like, let's bring you back to life. And over the last few months since then,
Starting point is 00:05:29 he's had a big couple of months. And so that, I guarantee, played into his mindset and his demeanor. And I don't know, I don't follow Theo's podcast nearly as closely as Joe, but has Joe ever been on, he just recently went on Theo's podcast as well. And Joe's been on before. Oh yes, okay, I mean, I haven't had a chance
Starting point is 00:05:53 to listen to it, I don't know if anyone out there has, but I just imagine that having this like, now like, what's the word, it's like they've both interviewed Trump and they both like are sort of aligned and there are probably views right now and in their excitement for what's to come that they're sort of this like camaraderie that they have. It's a bit of an elite podcasting group.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Yeah, yeah. They're in. I still am surprised that Trump chose Theo only because I mean, Theo is definitely big enough. His podcast is definitely big enough to warrant it. It just to me, it was a surprising match. And another surprising part of it was that it was really good. It had some points that I was just like, oh, this is exactly what we want to be hearing from this conversation.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And you know, especially him getting into it about drugs or what cocaine does and just having Trump kind of analyzing the other end of it. It still blows my mind that that happened. I don't know if Theo was just like nervous or just being him or he must have been nervous. Oh, he had to have been. Yeah. I mean, who wouldn't be? I think the only interviewer that wasn't was Rogan. Yeah. Rogan was just Rogan with Trump. It's kind of one of his superpowers is that he can always just be normal. But you know what? I said this to you the other day. Rogan for a minute there, he looked a bit red. He looked a bit
Starting point is 00:07:26 inflamed, like must've been the holidays. He caught the buzz of him. It was the holidays. But he's been looking really good the last week or so, like just looks real healthy. He seems to have a lot more energy and He's probably doing some sober January stuff, you know? Yeah, probably. Just kind of giving himself a bit of a break. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I think with the club and just the life that he has and obviously, you know, just kind of giving himself a bit of a break. Yeah. I think with the club and just the life that he has, and obviously, you know, he does a Protect Your Parks and, you know, Shane's around and it's probably just fun and exciting to just kind of fall back into going down to Mitzi's bar at your club and having a drink here and there. The end of the day, he's in his late 50s. He's gotta take breaks. He knows it and it'll work out for him when he does.
Starting point is 00:08:12 And you probably do kind of see it in his face on the podcast. Just like it's, I don't know, less round. Yeah. A little bit. Yeah, it's interesting. It's like all of a sudden I was like, oh, he seems to look like way healthier today.
Starting point is 00:08:27 You know, just like way like less uncomfortable almost. And, and yeah, I mean, it's like he lost 10 years, you know? Yeah. He does have his moments of looking swollen. Yeah. Let's talk a little bit about the US ban on TikTok. Yeah, they touched on that. It was what the 18th or 19th that they banned it? Yeah, the 19th, it was yesterday. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And, yeah, I think I wasn't sure it was gonna happen and it did for a very short amount of time, right? Yeah. did for a very short amount of time, right? Yeah. The- I think it was, I think it was like shots fired across the bow. It's like a warning that something is to come. Look, we have the power to turn this off.
Starting point is 00:09:18 We will play by our rules. Yeah. What rules are we looking for to be determined? But I think it's something like that happening. I mean, there must have been a shitload of wealthy TikTokers out there freaking out about this. Yeah. I mean, people have made seven figures.
Starting point is 00:09:40 You know, how do they make money on TikTok? Is it just like YouTube? The more people that watch your, you know, dances or whatever the heck they're doing over there? I believe so. It's kind of like all those platforms are the same. Unfortunately, I've yet to figure it out for myself, but it's like advertising, numbers, subscribers. You can pay similar to Patreon for people, for content creators. But yeah, people have done really well. It's been a great outlet for a lot of individuals
Starting point is 00:10:12 that have, a lot of my feeds are stay at home moms. And it's been this outlet for them to be able to provide for their families. And I mean, of course the big names names, you know, there's the cat sicklers and things like that. They're like really, really, really, really popular. But just your average everyday individual can do OK on these platforms if you are consistent and you create good content.
Starting point is 00:10:38 And I think it's also an outlet just in general for people to kind of put their opinions and their thoughts and their energy into something and like just put it out into the void kind of. BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.
Starting point is 00:11:43 BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. And then you can sort of like find this community of people that like aligns with you. Right. And so I was sure it wouldn't last forever. It was too big. Right. Tick tock's too big to be banned forever. And the message said, you know, when people open to the app and they were, couldn't access anything. Our friend Donald Trump is, you know, promised to figure this out.
Starting point is 00:12:12 And before the day was over, it was back up. Right. So they've come to some deal. It looks like it's hard to say what, but yeah, the, the, the content before it went out and right after it came back was quite funny though. Like people being like, oh, here's all my dirty darkest secrets and here's all the things that I've been holding out on you to tell you, but now that TikTok's going away, like I'm gonna bled it all out or whatever. People being like so sappy and dramatic
Starting point is 00:12:41 and then all of a sudden it's back up so quick. And then they're like, here we are. They're like, oh, hi. Well, but maybe they felt that it was forever. I mean, you know. You never, you couldn't have known. You're supplying media to people in five second increments.
Starting point is 00:12:59 You're the creator. Maybe they have the attention span of a goldfish as well. And if you tell them it's banned, they're like, that's forever. Yeah, there's no way around it. We can't be patient. Well, I mean, the TikTok says online 1.69 billion users. That's massive. That's a lot. I mean, that's just incredible. Yeah, it was funny. I saw a Babylon B post and it was like, it was like Gen Z angry about TikTok ban for four seconds or six, four minutes or six seconds or something. Cause that's
Starting point is 00:13:35 as long as their attention span last thanks to TikTok. It's so good. It's so good. You know, and yeah, I mean, I do think there's good and bad with all these platforms like we've you know Kind of when mark when Zack was on we talked a lot about You know Facebook and Metta and the good and the bad with all those and obviously X has had its ups and downs with you know Limiting content and things like that, but filtering it but I think tick-tock is great I'm glad that it's back up for those content creators that make a living doing it. And I say keep the entertainment coming. Yeah, I think this is a little different than the pressure that the Biden administration
Starting point is 00:14:16 was putting on Facebook and before that Twitter that was very politically motivated. This doesn't seem like, oh, this is Trump putting pressure on TikTok so that it has more right-wing content. I think it was just seen as a real national security threat, potentially. It's just giving China so much access to the user's data. And, you know, there are adversary and what are they doing with it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I mean, in the same way they banned Huawei phones, it's like they would have had tech in our hands. Those phones are good. They could do a lot of things. They were super advanced. And at the same time, you know, they were finding out that it had a bunch of kind of software in there, just siphoning information from. Yeah, but I mean, there's so much technology and goods and things that are produced in China
Starting point is 00:15:20 that I feel like there's a potential that they're, I mean, microchips in our phones and all these widgets and like, they could absolutely be spying on us anyways. Right. I think the point is they're sending a message. Yeah. They're saying, hey, don't make it. Don't, don't be crazy with this stuff. Yeah. Like we're going to, we're going to be onto you and it's going to cost a lot of money. I mean, I'm sure even, you know, banning TikTok for one day resulted in millions of dollars of lost revenue.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So it's, it's like a taste of what the government is capable of doing. I wonder how many US users there are, because that 1.9 billion would be global, right? Yeah, yeah. It's still a lot. Yeah, it's, it obviously was a message sent and received. Pa, I guess, I suppose, turning it off, turning it back on, seemed to alleviate the concern enough that they felt like it was okay to keep it back up. So yeah, so we'll just wait and see.
Starting point is 00:16:20 These two, they went on some pretty random topics, one of them being like, you know, when you go to like a bar, like a gas station and they have those pickled eggs on the... They're very popular in England. Yeah. Many bars, or pubs we call them, but many have just a big jar of pickled eggs
Starting point is 00:16:41 that may have been there for decades. Nobody knows. So bad. One time you asked me to make them and I'm like, not only do I have to boil hard, make hard boiled eggs, which I think are absolutely vile, and then I have to pickle them. And it's like, how could they get any worse?
Starting point is 00:16:59 Oh, pickle them. It's so good. You don't like pickled things? No, I do. I guess I do really like pickled things, but not eggs. Pickled protein, it's the way. Ew. Think about it.
Starting point is 00:17:12 If you eat pickles, it's just like a cucumber. Useless. Yeah, pickled cucumbers. At least get some protein in there. Okay, I guess, I don't know. I don't know what it, cause I very much enjoy almost all things pickled. So maybe it would make it better,
Starting point is 00:17:27 but there's something about an egg being pickled. Yeah, you just don't really like eggs. I don't like eggs. But it's not that weird. Also pickled onions are amazing. Yeah. I get what they're saying though, in those gas stations,
Starting point is 00:17:41 it's sometimes like, how long has this been on the truck for? Well but like everything in gas stations is like questionable so I don't know yeah it's not really any different. If you're worried about your health you should not be eating much from a gas station that's reasonable. On road trips I'll do it because you know you just kind of end up stopping that. What's your favorite road trip food? I always do some jerky, corn nuts of some flavor. I'll mix that up.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Aren't those pretty bad for your teeth? Not great. Okay. Not great for your teeth. Probably not great for your body. Yeah, no. And then for some reason I always do a Dr. Pepper and I never drink sodas.
Starting point is 00:18:24 But for some reason that goes with road trips. I mean, you know, you're just trying to keep yourself going on the road. Yeah, yeah. I like Dr. Pepper, sour skittles, any kind of chips. Yeah. So, you know. There's no rules.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Calories don't count on road trips, okay? Gas stations have been supplying that type of thinking and desires for some time. And there is something about, like you're not eating a salad on the road. It's just so rare. Yeah. So they have all the delicious junk.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Also, like one of the only times that we eat fast food, like is on road trips, you know, because it's convenient and it makes sense. The only thing I will always stay away from though, is that like little rotisserie sausage. And you know, they have like the, what are those? Chiquitos? How do you say that? Those things. Yeah. Or anything rolling on the the little spindles.
Starting point is 00:19:23 I'm not, I'm just I'm not, I'm just, I'm not touching it. I can't do it. It's too much for me. Well, and I mean, some of the big gas stations, they have like reasonable food, like, but you know, I usually just go for anything in like the cold section. I'm like, that seems safer, but maybe not. Sometimes though, you look at the sandwiches,
Starting point is 00:19:43 and I don't know if you've ever noticed this, but they have like a two or three week sell-by date. And it's like, wait, this is butter and mayo and meat. What the heck have they put in this thing that allows it to last that long? And they don't taste the same as like any type of sandwich you'd get anywhere else. It's just preservatives.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Special. It's just preservatives. Special. It's just nice. Secrets. Secret sauce preservatives that America's great at. You think, you think RFK is just going to close all the gas stations? I mean, that seems, it seems like a health disaster going on in there. Let's just start making a lot of noise about it. Talking about health. Red health dies and gas stations, talking about health.
Starting point is 00:20:27 And just like the clip at the beginning, Alex Jones, um, bit of a conspiracy online, even with his fans, he's been co-opted. Anything with Alex Jones is, is, you know, gonna have a conspiracy circle in it somewhere. Um, I think it is good that Joe is like, Hey, I stay in contact with him. We're texting. Okay. I know the guy. So the conspiracy goes that they've basically took him out off the face of the earth and replaced him with a look alike that's thinner and healthier and that they can control.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Could be a robot Alex Jones. Cause of course you cannot get healthy in America unless there's a conspiracy behind it or unless you're ill, right? Like mentally ill, right? Like there's no valid reason in America. So, you know, maybe he's got Ozempic. Yeah. Like him and the rest of the country. Yeah. Did you see anything, any of the content from golden globes and how thin everyone looked?
Starting point is 00:21:27 No, was it all his epic stuff? I mean, yeah, it has to be like, I mean, maybe, maybe it's just like that much of a movement and the celebrities are- It's not as gross as many medications because like it's better than everyone being obese, right? Yeah. I don't really have a too much to say about it. Looking for the ultimate online casino experience?

Starting point is 00:22:46 We don't have to say. We won't say who, but. We gotta keep certain things private. If I have to hear them say one more time that they just don't eat that much anymore and that they're full, I'm gonna throw some food at them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:00 It's like one of those things that I just, I'm like, okay, great, just stop eating then. But yeah, we spent quite a bit of time with this person over the holidays, love him to death, one of my favorite people in the whole wide world, you know, but I just wanted to be like, shut the fuck up. Like I get it, you're not eating that much,
Starting point is 00:23:18 you're not hungry, it's a chemical, you know, response to this medication you're on, and then they've lost weight and they look great and they feel better. It was like just rubbing it in all the other girls faces that were binging through the holidays. Yeah. And they're just like, Hey, I feel guilty
Starting point is 00:23:35 about this already. Like not only am I hungover, you know, like I'm, you know chasing a toddler around. It's the holidays. There's all these snacks and sweets around and I am hungry. Okay. Like I'm having cravings. I want to eat. I want to drink. I want to do all this stuff. And then it's just like constantly like, well, I just don't eat that much. I'm just full. And I'm like, okay, love you. Stop that. Shut your mouth.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Yeah. The irony is give you six months. You're going to get a prescription to this and be saying the same damn thing. I bet it just happens. We just have ads for Ozembic. It's just every other ad for the podcast. That would be hilarious. No, I refuse to have any pharmaceutical ads on this. That's a good sense of COVID. I won't. Oh, though, saying that I did have vape advertisers on once.
Starting point is 00:24:24 And I'm like, oh, God, did I do that? Really? Yeah. You're going to hell for that one. Well, but you know, back to Alex Jones, um, you know, they, the, the government was pretty hard on him. And so, um, maybe he just wanted- Yeah, and plenty of people would say for good reason too.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I think, I think like just like a lot of celebrities when they know they're going to be in the public eye, when they know there may be criticism about him another way, they try to find a way to like either have better publicity or you know just like have more people supporting them. And honestly, I think he just wants to be healthy. He's not doing this for any level of fame. He probably just felt awful and was feeling the effects of being overweight and not in shape and just said, Hey, you know, parts of my life have kind of gone off the rails. Let's at least get some control over that. And fair play to him.
Starting point is 00:25:15 He looks like a completely different person, just like Theo was saying. And, um, yeah, of course the, the conspiracy theories will come, but Joe assures us it's still Alex. Yeah. Don't worry. Yeah. It does make me think, is he coming on the part anytime soon? Well, Alex Jones episodes have always been the biggest or up there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:39 They're definitely in the top 10 of all time. However, people, and you know, some would say understandably, have got mad and probably put pressure on Rogan about him coming on, giving him a platform X, Y, and Z. Then of course he had the big lawsuit thing. But you know, that's settling down now. He's paying his way. They're, I guess, selling off info wars. I don't know the entire story there. There's some, some shenanigans going on with that. And you know, he's getting in shape and it's as of today, Trump's American now. So maybe we'll see him back on soon. And I'm curious to see what he's thinking about and what he's up to and what other stories he's gonna break. Yeah I mean get healthy, live longer, expose
Starting point is 00:26:31 more, you know things that are going on that we're not aware of. I'm all about it. I'm excited to hopefully get to you know see what he's up to and see what else he can bring to light. I'm, yeah, it'll be interesting. Calling on you, Joe. Have him on. That's it. Well, Theo is a huge UFC fan now. He's been going to the UFC for a while. There's some great footage of him. I think it was the not the last UFC, but maybe the one before that. Supposedly he was there for like all the prelims, like early, early sat alone, watching them for hours. Of course, Joe needs to be there.
Starting point is 00:27:11 He's commentating, but a lot of people don't show up till later because it is. It's like, I don't know, six, eight hours of being there. And that's a long time for an event. Supposedly, Thea was there the whole time. He's very good friends with Portier. He's getting to know other fighters and, you know, having kind of more insight, more opinions in the scene, which I think is really cool. They talk about Pacharris in this podcast and just explaining about his submissions,
Starting point is 00:27:41 how there was some problems, how he often would hold heel hooks way too long, which just for those out there that don't know, the ones that blow your knees up and rip your ankles apart, I mean, they're horrific. When you get those on people, you've gotta be very careful. When you're training with people and you're practicing those moves, you gotta go real gentle because
Starting point is 00:28:05 you can go from no submission to a broken knee faster than anything else. It's so quick. And if people are holding that too long and the referees are trying to get you off half a second too long, and it's, you're causing major, possibly lifelong, um, injuries for these poor fighters. So eventually he got kicked out of the UFC and they were talking about it, which is, that's kind of unusual. You know, it wasn't like he was just losing all the time, but it just was too
Starting point is 00:28:41 dangerous. Yeah. I don't have a lot of reference for combat sports, never been involved, but I know when you're watching them and just you can see when they do submit, like the pain that they're feeling is like, you can almost feel it with them. Oh yeah, it's not horrible.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Like their faces and you know, the only thing I can think of, I mean, maybe I can think of a couple other scenarios in which you can sort of relate to like this half a second in the real damages it can cause. But so, you know, like when you meet someone for the first time and they hug you and they hug you for just like a little bit too long and you're like, okay, okay, let me go. All right. Thanks. And it's just just awkward and uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Multiply that discomfort by six million and that's what you have here, right? That was the worst. What's everybody? I don't know if you could compare those two things. I'm just saying, it's like half a second, maybe I'm thinking the contrast of it. Half a second can be uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:29:43 and it can be whatever, you know, whatever. But I guess, I guess where it lines up is there's an etiquette to a handshake. There's an etiquette to a hug, especially with someone you don't know all that well, but you kind of on hugging terms. If it turns into a cuddle, big trouble. Somebody's somebody's broken some rules in the rules and the same thing in mixed martial arts. There's an etiquette. Obviously when they tap, you've got like, you want to make sure the referee sees it, but the refs these days are good. They're on top of it. And it's not uncommon that you'll
Starting point is 00:30:18 see in a UFC fight, the tap comes and then the pressure is released before the referee even gets there. Then it's kind of unwritten that, you know, the person that tap knows that they gave up and the other person was giving them some grace. Holding those things for too long is just far too dangerous. Well, you got to, you would think again, being someone that has no experience in combat sports, but like that when you're in a submission hold, if if you you're the person that's put someone in a hold like you're Anticipating the submission like you're waiting for it. It's not like oh, maybe it's gonna happen And so there's absolutely no way it's an accident like he's it's like it's this like show of strength and control and power and like a it's this like show of strength and control and power and then like a bit of like,
Starting point is 00:31:13 like, sociopathic, probably mindset that he has that he's like, Oh, this is the right way to go about this because I've won and I'm in this like, you know, more powerful position. And I'm just going to like just a half a second longer just to be like, like stick it to him. But in reality, it's like, I mean, one, it's illegal in the sport and two, it's, it's horrible. And it ultimately led to him being kicked out. So I'm glad that that happened. I'm glad that they don't allow people to like push the boundaries in something like that. It has to be a hard sport to manage and to like ref.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Yeah. Dana's not looking for fighters that are going to basically injure half of his roster. I mean, there will be disaster for the sport. Right. And, you know, on top of that, I hope that Theo, you know, possibly gets into training and starts doing some Jiu Jitsu and all does some more of it. I think he's done some in the past, but it would be really cool for him to start doing some MMA on top of everything else. It probably help out his stress. He does, he does tend to get pretty
Starting point is 00:32:19 stressed and whatever you can do to relieve that is solid. Talking about things that are stressing people out, they talked about crackdowns in England on free speech. Now, we're in England currently. The crackdowns on that, too hard, because we're saying whatever we want on this podcast and nobody's arrested us yet, but maybe they can't hear it. There are controversial social media posts that have been shown online and the police are showing up to people's houses.
Starting point is 00:32:56 They're filming it and they're arresting these people. Looking for the ultimate online casino experience? And it's hard to know, right?
Starting point is 00:34:02 Where is this happening? Who is it happening to? What have they all done? But we're definitely seeing a lot of that in America. And you know, there's even a new bill, I think, that's getting passed or whatever they call the laws, how they do the laws here in the UK, but it's about, they're basically stamping out types of speech, even done at the pub, which is really like the, you know, a place of freedom for the working man to go have a drink and talk to their friends and say what they want.
Starting point is 00:34:41 It's like, obviously you can't be drumming up violence, but if you're just having opinions and they're seen as controversial, and again, who decides what's controversial? That's the scary part of this. Yeah, I think being removed from a lot of the politics of the UK, having connections and family here, but also living in America
Starting point is 00:35:08 and having our own tornadoes of things happening constantly over there. You don't really, I don't understand all of the, like all of the things that are going on, but what I do know about the English and about British people is that they tend to be, or what I've observed, I won't say no, what I've observed is that they tend to be more, like, submissive isn't the right word, like they just kind of go with the flow.
Starting point is 00:35:37 They don't question the status quo. They, you know, like, for example, we like to queue. Yeah, like, it's like, oh, there's like, you don't need like barriers to create a like, you know, like the ropes to make a line in the UK when there's a lot of people. It's like, just get in line. We get in line.
Starting point is 00:35:53 We know how lines work. The recycling here is a bit extensive and you got to separate your food and you got to organic in one, you got to do raw in the other and cooked in one. And you got to have trash and you got to separate your recycling, you got to do raw in the other and cooked in one, and you got to have trash, and you got to separate your recycling, everything gets washed and recycled.
Starting point is 00:36:08 And in America, I know that it is a thing, but it's not required, but here it's like almost expected, and it's like looked down upon. No, it is, you get fined if you don't separate the trash. And so like fines here are like for things like that, where it's like in America, we're just like to throw it away. Like you have to pay to recycle in America right like you have
Starting point is 00:36:27 to pay to be like eco-conscious right and here it's like you you pay if you aren't and so that's sort of a totally other topic but I'm just saying the mindset of British people tends to be more like oh it's just how the rules are we just go with it I would, what I would expect in recent years that some of that in the political circle, like in political climates, like people are getting louder. People are getting upset, like Brexit.
Starting point is 00:36:56 A lot of people are really upset about Brexit and what has resulted as, you know, since then, costs of things have gone up and whatever. So I imagine people are starting to get a bit angrier and have a lot more to say. And, um, yeah, it's a bit like dystopian to think about, like going to the pub or posting something on it online and then, you know, someone showing up at your door and arresting you, like it's kind of hard to comprehend, but I mean, they, what they're trying to avoid is like people inciting
Starting point is 00:37:31 a riot ultimately. And um, Yeah, I mean, I guess that's how they, they kind of pose it, but it's, you know, that's anytime you're road free speech, you can put any labels on it for why. Safety and concerns and just for the greater good. And you know, really all you're doing is just always taking a right away from an individual. Right. And that's it.
Starting point is 00:37:59 And then where do those rights go? Eventually they all go to the state. We've seen what happens when the state's fully in charge of all the rights. Yeah. It's ugly. Yeah. It's not good. People die.
Starting point is 00:38:10 People get incarcerated. It's, it's not a way to live. No. You know, obviously there's a range, you know, it doesn't mean just because this law came in, the whole country goes that way, but it's something to keep an eye on. I don't like the sound of it. It's a big part of the reason why I love America
Starting point is 00:38:30 as much as I do, and I live there, because I think that the laws align far better with what I believe than otherwise. Yeah, yeah, I mean, pretty much all Theo had to say about it was, that's wild. Yeah. That's wild. Yeah, that's what But you know, it truly is it's it's scary to think about and you know I mean it's a bit like, you know, you imagine how life is in places like North Korea
Starting point is 00:38:56 You know, you can't say anything. You can't think anything can't act in a certain way. No, you know even places like in a certain way. You know, even places like, I think it's Japan, you have like a social credit score, basically. Like China, where you like get rated if you like do something like that people don't like, you know? I don't know. I don't know how I feel about it, ultimately.
Starting point is 00:39:19 I mean, obviously, I don't believe in limiting free speech, but there are some things that I wish people would say less. There's some things I wish people would shop about. There's some things that I'm like, can you be done talking about that? Maybe you can only talk about it for a short amount of time. You know, like, but that's just me. But there doesn't need to be laws about it.
Starting point is 00:39:37 It's just like, just don't talk to them then. It should be an etiquette, right? Don't watch that channel. Don't listen to that thing. Didn't Theo bring up weighted blankets? What was the weighted blanket? They were screwing out some random stuff at the beginning. Weighted blankets, and it sort of like rolled into like-
Starting point is 00:39:58 They are good. You know, oh yeah, you used one before. I approve. Yeah, they're great. I don't know, he was talking about some, some, you know, the way some weak kid that got trapped under one. And then I think he started, you know,
Starting point is 00:40:11 basically talking about. How heavy was that blanket? You can get them really heavy. I mean, they're, they're, they can be considered like a medical device or for people with like sensory issues. So. It just ties you down. Yeah, I don't know. I, I never looked, I didn't look up exactly what the context he was talking about. The story he said was like, it was
Starting point is 00:40:30 like a malnourished child under like an 80 pound blanket or something. I'm like, okay, that feels weird. But, um, you know, they also talked a bit about, um, like autism, which I think, you know, that's what these blankets typically are designed for is like children with autism or individuals with autism. Oh, maybe that's why I like it. Yeah, you're definitely on the spectrum. But, you know, and then he made a joke like that autistic people are like the bridge
Starting point is 00:40:59 between like humans and machines. Like Elon Musk is like the definition of like high functioning autism, right? And- That's definitely the autism that I would choose to have. You identify as Elon Musk type? No, no, I would just like to. Okay, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Yeah, me too. I would like to have the type of autism that makes me a rocket scientist and the richest man in the world. Yeah. And you know, and it's, and it was funny, their conversation sort of bounced around between like, what's causing autism and like, you know, obviously the, um, like they brought up environmental factors, you know, technology, we're addicted to technology, we're addicted to plastic, we have hormones in our food, is it messing up our genetics? And ultimately is that why we're addicted to technology, we're addicted to plastic, we have hormones in our food, is it messing up our genetics? And ultimately is that why we're seeing higher case higher numbers
Starting point is 00:41:53 of autism, higher rates of autism. They did say they liked onions. Yeah. Onions came up. Yeah, that was random, but yeah, onions are amazing. Yeah. I was like tuned in instantly. I was random, but yeah, onions are amazing. I was like tuned in instantly. I was like, this is gonna be a great podcast. We're talking about onions. What else do they have to say? And then we kind of died out, but they did a quick search of like,
Starting point is 00:42:16 what's the nutritional aspect of onions? People don't know. I didn't know. There really isn't much. There's a lot of vitamin C. They like to use the word phytonutrients with onions. Now there's a thing you know I do, anytime I'm sick, I like to mix,
Starting point is 00:42:33 chop some onions up and put them in a thing of honey, like a jar, and you leave them overnight, and then the honey gets very watery. Take the onions out, and then it's like this watery little soup and you just have a couple of spoonfuls each day or whatever you want when you feel sick. And it makes you feel better. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:57 It has like some antibacterial, antimicrobial properties or something like that. Some healthy stuff in there. Some healthy stuff and they're delicious. Yeah, French onion soup I mean incredible. Um, yeah, I agree with them. I want onions and everything. Let's go. Yeah, let's go alright, let's let's finish up with a little bit of the Mexicans verse Puerto Rico feud that they discussed What came up because they were talking about like. Who's the hardest worker, right?
Starting point is 00:43:29 Well, yeah, it was like, I don't understand the stereotype that like Mexicans are lazy. And I actually never, I don't know. I've never heard that. I've heard it for another ethnic group. I'm not going to say it because I don't, I'm not racist, but I think. We're in the UK.
Starting point is 00:43:42 We can't afford to get canceled right now. Stop this. But there was like, well, one group thinks the other one is and but then this is like, you know, the reality of it. And then, you know, it circled back to like the feud that existed from boxing and stuff like that more. So like in recent, you know, past history, it had to do more with like-
Starting point is 00:44:04 Mexicans and Puerto Ricans are good boxes. Yeah. For sure. And that that's where like this like cultural like riff started. And then- That's hilarious. It rolled into like modern day times of like, oh, who works harder and you know, whatever. Right. It was a bit lighthearted. Who's got better cocaine? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Well, the Colombians. Oh yeah, everyone knows that. But yeah, it was lighthearted. It was a fun, silly ending. And yeah, just to finish up, it is January 20th. Rogan was at the inauguration. Theo went as well. Pretty interesting.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Theo was on a bus with Jake Paul, Logan Paul, and Conor McGregor. We were chatting with each other. And that's interesting. Theo was on a bus with, um, Jake Paul, Logan Paul and Conor McGregor. Yeah. We'll chat with each other. And that's interesting. I've never, you know, Theo getting a chance to talk to, to Connor. Pretty cool. Connor seemed more interested in what Logan and Jake were up to. But yeah, I haven't caught up with all the, he was just probably messing
Starting point is 00:45:05 with them, but yeah, big changes in the U S today. A lot was said by Trump and, um, he's basically, as we speak, writing a bunch of laws in the place to minimize what just happened with all the Biden stuff. So we're going to see. We'll see what happens. More on that to come, but more on that to come. But anyway, thanks so much for listening. As always check out the Patreon and we will talk to you all soon. Cheers y'all.
