Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys and welcome to this episode of the Joe Rogan Experience Review. Today we are reviewing J.D. Vance. We were going to do Mr. Beast first, but let's get the J.D. Vance one out of the way. Yeah. A little bit of controversy with this. Again, if you go into the comments on the YouTube or the Spotify, it's Rogan sold out. You know, his political. campaign and etc., etc., etc. And look, I get it.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I don't know if this is a combination of Rogan has just got so big that, you know, these large political heads, it's just normal for them to come on now. It's normal for billionaires to come on. Who knows? It would be weird if we started seeing a lot of like foreign influence stuff happening, like presidents from countries we don't like, that seems unlikely. But I mean, his reach now is he can get anyone. Now, is this again, and it's the same question I had with the perplexity AI guy,
Starting point is 00:01:13 is it just that he's interested in talking to him? It's like, would it not be interesting to have the vice president on, regardless of who the vice president is? or is it a little bit broy and kind of allowing Vance to just kind of speak his piece without a ton of pushback? Is it politically motivated, right? Yeah, these are good questions. There was like five questions. Yeah, one at a time, please.
Starting point is 00:01:49 No, I think my perspective when I first, you know, when it was like, okay, let's do J.D. Vance, like, he was just on, I suppose it was like two years ago. So. Right before the election. Yeah. And at that time, I'm like, obviously that was politically motivated. And it was like, I don't think it was strategic on Joe's part of like, let's get people on that are going to like boost my ratings. Like, I don't know that Joe is motivated by that. I think there's a bit of, it's the word, like, he so badly wants to, like, interview the biggest people on the planet, you know?
Starting point is 00:02:30 And I think it comes down to, like, some level of curiosity, but almost like, clout's not the right word. But, like, yeah, like, I run in this circle with these people and I can get the vice president on my podcast whenever I want. That being said, J.D. Vance is, like, there's no election happening. his sort of, I think his motivation to come on was he wanted to promote his book. I mean, he like very, very clearly was like, everyone go by my book. Like he literally said that like verbatim on the podcast. So I think there probably was some push from J.D. Mantis's team like, hey, you've already had him on. Hey, this could be like really big for you and sort of like.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Oh, no doubt. He's on a book tour. He's on a book tour. This is part of it. And Rogan's media. Yeah, exactly. And to be fair, Rogan did just. see him at the White House. So it's like if you're at the White House bumping into a bunch of people,
Starting point is 00:03:30 I'm sure there are plenty of people in Washington that either approach Rogan about wanting to come on, you know, or other people mentioned, hey, you should have this person on. That's not really Rogan's way of doing it. He doesn't like that. But the president and the vice president have his ear. They can come over and say hi whenever they want to. that's kind of standard for that position, to be honest. You're not going to be like, I'm too busy to talk to the vice president. Right. Unless you really hate him and want to make a point.
Starting point is 00:04:02 But Rogan's not like that. So we probably just mentioned, hey, I've got this book coming out. I'm doing a tour soon. You know, it's going to be a month from or whenever, however long ago the White House card was. You know, could we get a show in? I would speculate that it was already scheduled, given. how far out certain things for like the president, the vice president would probably have to be scheduled. So my guess is it already was scheduled at UFC 250.
Starting point is 00:04:30 And if they spoke, it was just like, hey, looking forward to it. Again, we don't know. We, speculation, right? Yeah, we don't know. I think that there is a part of me that feels like Joe is selling out just a small part. But again, it's not. I think you're not alone with this. Of absolutely.
Starting point is 00:04:47 A lot of people feel on this. I don't think that it's money driven. I think that it's. yeah, I think it's like celebrity driven, like, like, Clow almost like, oh, I interview the vice president regularly and like we're on a texting bait. You know what I mean? So I think he's like reached this point where like he can have the biggest names on the planet in any industry on his podcast. And because he has such a big following and, you know, high download numbers, people want that. And so it was like a given that when J.D. Vance, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:22 had his book tour, his media team was going to like try to get him on Rogan. So I don't think that it was, I don't think it was politically driven in any way. I think... Though he is kind of pro J.D. Vance, though he's been pretty critical of Trump and the Trump administration recently. Yes. It's not like he's suddenly on Kamala side or whoever the Democrat would be, right? He's just like frustrated with how things are going, sees it. You could really feel that I feel like during this podcast. Joe was pretty frustrated and he pushed back on like everything Jady said like all of his commentary. Joe pushed back pretty heavy and he was quite, he questioned him a lot and was like, no, I disagree. And so I think he's gotten to a point where he's just like very confident and I think he's so frustrated. He's like, he maybe saw this as an opportunity to be like, I'm going to make a stand in like the biggest way I can was just to like tell the vice president. Like I disagree with you and like you're not doing enough.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Honestly, that's what I felt too. Like, he was even interrupting Vance. Yeah. He was like, no, I don't think so, or that's crazy. Yeah. And, you know, when he brought up the idea of the generals talking about the war in terms of the book of revelations. Yeah. And he's like, this is fucking nuts, dude.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Yeah. I mean, he kind of pulled J.D. into that word. J.D. had to agree because it was nuts. Yeah. And kind of fair play for J.D. because I'm sure there's elements that he wants to protect. in that world. However, if you look at most of the comments online, there's a lot of people out that dismissed this either immediately or even when they listened to it, they didn't hear that
Starting point is 00:07:03 pushback. They were like, what is this just another, you know, is this getting ready for JD's 2028 run? And I'm not saying they're wrong either. Because when I read that many comments and they have, they clearly were once Rogan fans, they are feeling a change. in the show. Yeah. They are feeling a change with Joe that they don't necessarily like. And they're voicing that frustration. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:30 I mean, to even get on and write a message, you know, in the comment section of Spotify. Yeah. It means that you have to make an effort to do that. Yeah. And that's the majority of them. Very few in there were like, this was great or Joe really pushed back hard or. So I think people are already expecting. a type of Rogan to show up to these.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And that says something about the direction of the show. I really don't know what it means and what Joe's take is. I'd be super curious to just be like, if that was a question I could have for him, I'd just have to be like, all right, straight up, be honest with me. Do you find that you're losing like the real message of this show and what it was when you started? or are you just organically changing as you age and with the people that you meet?
Starting point is 00:08:27 Because there's a lot of people out there to think that you're kind of selling out. Yeah. And what are you got to say? It's interesting because in general, like, obviously you do every episode of this Joe Rogan, you know, experience review. And I do some of them with you. But when you proposed like J.D. Vance or Mr. Beast, I'm like Mr. Beast. like I'd much rather do that. But obviously, like, I think it's very pivotal that the interviews, like the biggest media platform in the world and the vice president of the United States during a global war, like interview happening between those two is listened to and addressed and acknowledge. So it's like, okay, well, let's do both of them. Let's do the serious one. Let's do the really important one. And then let's do the one that's like actually interesting. And so when you look at the dynamics, the difference between, you know, one day he's interviewing J.D. Banson, the next day he's interviewing Mr. Beast. where it's like Mr. Beas is also extremely heavily watched and tuned into.
Starting point is 00:09:24 The most watched, like, well, not him personally, but his show, most watched thing ever. Yeah. And, you know, what he does is so different from what J.D. Vance says. I think that's, I think it's interesting and it's a, and it validates what Joe has is that, like, his platform is still big enough. And his curiosity is still so deep. And so, in his interests are so vast that, like, he's still keeping it. Podcast is brought to you by Rapping the Rivers Festival, 26. And I think that's how he's going to, maintain his audience and maintain his status as this like very good interviewer and be able to continue to have these really interesting high level you know in high popularity people listen that i agree he's gonna he's gonna stay relevant he's still the biggest podcaster he's losing some people people are frustrated now are they gone forever can they come back around will joe kind of autocorrect whatever this adjustment is that people are
Starting point is 00:12:43 sensing, even if Joe doesn't himself, but he probably feels it. And, but either way, there's going to be every year there's like a new generation of people, you know, people get to whatever age that you start listening to podcasts when you're interested. Young boys probably, I don't know, 15, they're like, hey, I'm into podcasts now. Every year, there's another group of that. Yeah. And some of them are going to be drawn to this show. Yeah. It's interesting enough. Yeah. I mean, even if you're just a Mr. Beast fan and you didn't give a shit about Joe Rogan, you probably tune into that conversation. And Joe's interesting enough to capture you may be coming back for a couple more episodes.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Yeah. And that's what he's good at. He's good at keeping you on there. But let's focus them for the sake of all the comments on the pushback and really take a look at it and be like, did he challenge JD? did he challenge him enough to what people are expecting? Because obviously people are, you know, maybe a lot of this comes from frustration with the Trump administration. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:49 So it's like more pressure on Joe. The big one for me was bringing up Israel's influence in the U.S. And doing it multiple times and breaking down the pieces of it, like, you know, the Pax. And he didn't name them more specifically. maybe for good reason but you know he was saying that people are worried that politicians are more pro-Israel than pro-America that's an issue he kind of put jady on the spot for that like where are you with this and what kind of influence is there i felt like jd handled it pretty well he didn't get overly defensive but he did just kind of like circle around with like other countries do this everyone's
Starting point is 00:14:39 trying to influence. I'm not that bothered with it. My question is, how can you not be bothered with that? It's one thing to say you can't stop it. All countries are going to try. This is what happens. But to say you're not bothered by it, I did not care for. You should be bothered when any country tries to influence us. And to put it, like his answer to that was, I'm actually more bothered when the politicians in this country than make choices because of that influence. I'm like, Dude, it's a little late, you know? When the when the frickin' wolf is in the henhouse, it's already causing some damage.
Starting point is 00:15:19 You can't just be like, oh, yeah, it's not a big deal there here. Yeah. Yeah, I don't disagree. He's a very well-spoken politician. He has very politically delicate answers, right? He dances around giving his true opinion. in he's probably been briefed and prepped and scripted. You know, he potentially...
Starting point is 00:15:44 He didn't sound heavily full of shit though either. He did not sound full of shit. He did sound like he was able to talk about some things. I think mostly like about his faith and his beliefs there. Part of that was like, oh, they probably should have given him a better answer response to some of the questions that potentially was going to be asked. But, you know, he definitely danced around. And he did a lot of like side note and like kind of like diverted the conversation.
Starting point is 00:16:08 elsewhere rather than answering the big questions that Joe had. And I think there's been this evolution of Joe's podcast in the last years of like, there's always been this like conspiracy theory element to him. I mean, he's always been into it, right? It's one of the best parts. Particularly like, you know, extraterrestrial life and aliens and all the things. But recently, I think mostly from the conversation starting in 2019 and like the pandemic and Epstein files and all of that, it's definitely become more political. And I think in some way that
Starting point is 00:16:44 holds people's attention more because it directly reflects, directly relates to people's day-to-day life and emotions and fears very heavily, but also can be big, scary questions. And Joe's like starting to get louder and louder and louder and more blunt and brave about asking these questions and going straight to the vice president and being like, what do you know and what do you not know and what how what access do you have like that's pretty bold of him and so he did ask some big questions jd vance definitely danced around them the topic of israel it's so hard because i mean what is jd going to say yeah i'm politically motivated or i'm not politically motivated and like piss off either everyone in this country everyone in that country yeah he has to dance around i mean
Starting point is 00:17:30 let's can't just say yes or no he has to say well there's nuances and well maybe this and you know let me just talk about this instead. And that's like super frustrating. And if anything, I think it probably, if I had to guess, Joe's not going to, on his own accord, have J.D. Vance back, is it would be my guess, because it seemed like he was really frustrated. Oh, if J.D. runs. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:17:55 He'll have them back on. Maybe. For sure. Because they have more questions for it. Look, I don't think that Joe was satisfied with many of these answers. Yeah. I think the, because they, you watch how they move from topic to topic, they didn't really come to a conclusion. JD was good at being like, jump from the Israel thing to over to Epstein, which is Israel adjacent.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And then that opened the door for Rogan to then hammer him about, and the administration about what happened with the Epstein files. Yeah. Which I thought was a reasonable hammering. Yeah. It's like, what was going on? Where was the story? Like, you know, we'd think this happen. We'd think this.
Starting point is 00:18:36 He was connected to all these powerful people. J.D.'s just kind of like, I'm a big conspiracy guy too. You know, I think there's a story. We just don't have all the information. Yeah. And it's like, okay, we just have to believe this. I think, like the files somehow got destroyed in 2006 because of that prosecution back then and things are missing.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I'm like, don't we have the fucking FBI? to look into this. Don't we have the best intelligence agency in the world that can break all of this down? And the best you can come up with is, I think there's some story there, and it might be about tax evasion. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I don't know. I was not buying that. I was pretty dissatisfied, too, with these answers. I mean, I was very, I was, like, felt like I was, like, in the room with Joe being, like, stop dancing around the answer. Like, stop diverting the answer. Are you shitting me, bro?
Starting point is 00:19:33 And then he went as far as to say, oh, I just simply don't have the time to look into whether we have aliens evidence or not. I'm like, that's bullshit. Well, even Joe, even Joe was like, dude, that would be the first thing I would do. He's like, what do you mean? He's like, well, I'm just dealing with everything with Iran. And he's like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yeah, don't you have like a Saturday morning where you can access some files? Literally.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Like, he'll always have access that. And so he's like, yeah, I'm going to get to the bottom of it. It's like, I mean. To be fair to him, though, I'm pretty sure that they're all told the same thing, whether it's Obama's group and his vice president, Biden or when Biden was in, any of it. It's like, you can only talk about this much stuff and we never mention X, Y, and Z or we're not showing you that at all. But the vice president doesn't want to sit there and the president and be like, actually, there's a lot of access I don't have. Right. Because he just takes away from their power.
Starting point is 00:20:30 They're like, are you running the country or no? They're never going to admit that they can't access everything. Well, yeah. So then the best thing to say is I'm busy. I'll look at it. I promise I'm going to take a look at the most interesting thing ever in the history of humanity. But right now I've got a war to deal with. And I mean, I would have believed in more if he had said my wife's 39 weeks pregnant, which he did.
Starting point is 00:20:52 And like that's why I haven't focused on it because of either like a personal fear of it being real or my wife needs me. No, he said, I'm just too busy dealing with my day to day. job. I'm like, shut the fuck up. I'm like, you're on Rogan's podcast. Like, yeah, how do you have three? Why didn't you spend three hours looking up aliens? He could have said, sorry, Joe, let me actually get some answers for you and then let's reschedule. Like, but I'm going to come sell my, but you had time to write a book about. You know what's funny? I spend a lot of time thinking about podcasts, guests, and getting episodes out on time. But staying up on my finances, that's never been the exciting part of my week.
Starting point is 00:21:33 One thing that's genuinely helped is rocket money. Starting point is 00:22:35 what is the book even about we don't even know listen nobody's writing books or chat gp t he's like writing a book about like Christian economics I'm like I'm sorry what like but you don't have time to look into whether we have biological evidence of aliens like this is insane babe some people like you have access he has full access but he's never looked into it and then his whole his whole thing
Starting point is 00:23:00 about obviously I'm frustrated with listening to this episode. Sounds like it. He and then he, the audacity to be so, play so dumb to say, oh, if we had it, someone would take a photo of it. It's like. I think what Joe said about that, squash that immediately. Yeah. It's like, yes, it is super top secret.
Starting point is 00:23:22 They do take all your phones away. They're going to scan you down. I mean, we all already had the Bob Lazard thing. Yeah. They have learned from that. They're like, we need to keep this more secret, you know, more compartmentalized. We probably need to move the ships. We need to do a whole erase.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Now there's a lot more technology. People can fly drones over areas. Yeah. Like, we've got to watch this stuff in a whole new way to keep it secret. But they've got way better at it, for sure. I mean, 100%. They're stripping people down. They're scanning them with all the things.
Starting point is 00:23:58 And then they're putting them in white. mesh suits to go into these rooms to look at these things. Like, you know, you can just picture it. Like, they're not just being like, it's fine. Just hop out of your car and just walk through this door and look at this alien carcass. Talk about keeping secrets. It's like people didn't even know about all the Epstein stuff until Alex Jones mentioned it. Like 15 years before anything went down with Epstein and nobody believed him then.
Starting point is 00:24:25 So it's like that isn't, you know, powered by. military secrecy programs, and still they couldn't get that information out. Yeah. I mean, people can keep secrets. Yeah. And they can be big stories and dark things. And it's hard to get information on them. Think how little we still have that's useful about Epstein.
Starting point is 00:24:49 And it's like there's been a massive investigation and it's one of the biggest news stories in the last 20 years. And still, there's almost nothing with it. So I'm not buying this. We can't keep secrets bullshit. Maybe some of us can't. Yeah. But maybe when they get this big, they're actually easier to keep because it's so nuts to talk about.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Well, I think there's a lot of fear. I mean, they talked about, I can't remember. I'll butcher the details if I try to bring, say them, but the, the experiment or the test where they put all of these scientists and these theologists together and they're like. Like what would happen? Say we have this evidence. What would happen to society if we put this out into the economy and whatever? It's like the president and the vice president, they are economically driven. So, you know, and a lot of people in the government in the military are, right? Like they don't care about what's right and wrong. They don't care about what you know and what I know. They care about how much money's coming in, how much money they're getting paid, the protection of them and their immediate loved ones. Yeah, to be fair, they're like running the biggest corporation in the world. which is the U.S. government. Exactly. So they're like if the evidence from all the smartest people in the world or the data and the opinion says if this gets out, like even more so than like the reality that it could being false or that it couldn't, the reality that if it got out, it would jeopardize your safety, your wife, your children and your livelihood and your position.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Like that is more powerful, I think, than anything else. than the truth to these people. So of course, Jady Vance, you know, hypothetically, he knows about this. And he is primed, maybe even brainwashed by choice to not give any answers or inclination that he knows anything about it. So he's just saying, like, I'm going to play so dumb that, like, I cannot back myself into a corner here. And it's like at any cost. He's not going to talk about what he's seen or what he knows. I guess there's also the possibility that he doesn't know and that it is over him or that there's like this like parallel governing body that like handles all these other things and they're sort of just like fixtures you know that would be my guess that's closer to that.
Starting point is 00:27:17 But maybe there's some of both of that going on. Also you like you kind of have an excuse if you don't look into things as much. Yeah. Because you just literally can't answer those questions. Yeah. And you can always say you were too busy or that's not what I've seen. Yeah. And, you know, then you just kind of like on the periphery of it and you get to deny it and it's not a lie.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Yeah. I think either way you look at it, it's frustrating. Like, it's frustrating that like there's no answers. It's frustrating that there's so much speculation and evidence that there is this existence and that there's so many personal accounts from people that maybe are outside of either of those parallel governing bodies right but like still we have no solid like yes or no or like yes but it's just like maybe i don't know i don't have time to think about it or look into it it's like well i don't i don't think calling the aliens demons is adding anything useful to the i mean when when rogan brought that up i mean
Starting point is 00:28:23 that really put him on the spot to justify so listen I get people being religious and I get people's faith being impulsive. Yeah. I don't know how you can connect aliens to demons, though. That one is a leap that he was not persuading me on at all. It's like, okay, I'm just going to justify something that I think could be true. It's like, wait, so the flying sources are demons? Like, what are we doing here?
Starting point is 00:29:01 Yeah, I don't. And then he almost brought up ghosts as another way to kind of justify. He's like, well, you know, ghosts are it's like, all right, dude. Yeah. Like we're getting so far away from what Joe actually wants to know about, which is what do we know? Again, yeah, I think it was like, it's like play ignorant and like play dumb about it and like try to divert the conversation to something that's like so often. the wall that like i think you believe's the demon thing maybe yeah i think that he thinks and it's hard to say like oh he that's a dumb belief because it's his beliefs everyone is entitled to their beliefs
Starting point is 00:29:41 look i'm not i'm not even saying that it's dumb for him like fine if you believe that and you connecting it to your religion then by all means but it's i don't think it's persuading a rogan audience at all i think that you're losing every with that. Definitely lost me there. I was like, okay, this is a stretch. And again, like a safe for work answer that you're like just trying to like get me like confuse me so that I stop asking the question. Be like, never mind. Maybe they're butterflies. Maybe. Maybe it's the ladybugs and the crickets and those are the aliens. We don't know. But let me ask you this. What did you think about his response to Joe's criticism of Texas, mandating
Starting point is 00:30:29 having the Ten Commandments presented and present in public schools. Do you remember him talking? Yeah, no, I agree with Joe. What did you think of his, of J.D. Vance's response to that? Well, it doesn't really add up. Like, some of his points made sense. Like, he feels like there's been a anti-religious push that's like really removing Christianity from every part of, life. And he is feeling what it sounded like to me is that Christianity is a part of this country.
Starting point is 00:31:06 It was like, you know, what kind of built a lot of it in a sense. You know, a lot of Christians were here. And now it's like it needs to be banned from everywhere. So he's just bringing this one piece back that has this like ethical foundation of these rules. And, you know, that's what I was hearing him say. The problem is with it, whether you're religious or not, is that that's not how it works in America. What Joe is saying is correct. It's like the only way you can make that make sense unless you're saying, oh, this is a Christian nation and we reject other religions, which really isn't how America is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Like there's a separation of church and state. That's the thing. So it's either out of the state stuff or it's a part of it. Yeah. And there's still some word on, in God we trust, on our money and those sorts of things. But bringing in just one thing and then Joe said, why not a Hindu thing that is positive? Why not a Buddhist thing or why not a Muslim thing that's positive in there? That argument then is just is relevant.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Yeah. Otherwise, we're saying we're not the melting pot. You can only do it one way and that's it. I mean, unless you want to connect it to like, yeah, we speak primarily English. here and that's the language. We're not teaching every language in schools or, you know, all the signposts don't have every language on. But that wouldn't make any sense to do. Right. And just to add in this one thing and not add in other things from other religions is it's just not this like equal setup. So yeah, I didn't disagree with Joe's argument. I think his
Starting point is 00:32:58 pushback is reasonable. And he even referenced a religious person from Texas that is just saying, no, no, no, you need to understand it. It's coming from these rich evangelical, Christian people that are just pushing this kind of narrative in this direction. They're like removing funding from some things and they're like making that happen. Yeah. You know, he's he's basically adding in that it's like this disingenuous power play rather than what JD is saying, which is like, oh, it's just giving people exposure to this, you know, valuable set of rules that kids could look at. Yeah. I feel like we could have a whole podcast on this topic because there's a lot of facts.
Starting point is 00:33:45 There's a lot of data. There's a lot of historical, you know, rulings from courts about separation of church and state and, you know, religion in schools and what is a... what is relevant and what is necessary and what is allowed and not allowed in public schools. Like private schools, it's private school, right? Like, that's a thing. You can have whatever you want at private school. Well, Joe also said a religious class.
Starting point is 00:34:11 If it's a religious class, then it would make sense to have certain texts in there. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's reasonable. So a couple facts here that I had to, you know, verify. There's no official language or there is no official religion of the United States. America and it's very in the foundational documents of building and if, you know, founding America is like we're not going to define that. This is a, everyone has the choice to choose a religion. We're not going to assign one. There was no official national language of English until 2025.
Starting point is 00:34:45 So this during this last or within this current election or presidency. Right. But out of like relative simplicity, all the signs in the. the country and most of the text everywhere is English because it would be chaos if we had every language on everything. I think I also think it's very interesting to it's both complicated and interesting that someone who is very faith based and calls himself a faith leader or Christian leader. He referred to himself as a Christian leader over and over and over again at least five times in the podcast.
Starting point is 00:35:24 that his opinion, I mean, it's obvious and it's predictable that his opinion is, yeah, you should have them. I think that it's a foundational part of our country, you know, we have in God we trust on our money and we have, you know, one nation under God in our Pledge of Allegiance. Like, of course he's going to say that. I very like, I don't agree. I agree with Joe, as you do, that this shouldn't be a thing. It shouldn't be president in schools. That said, I do agree with. what and how J.D.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Sort of, not withdrew, but sort of said, like, I think it's really important that even my children, and maybe he believes this, maybe he doesn't, that his children are exposed to other religions. And I feel this way, too, you know, like, I think I want my child to learn about all different types of culture and religion and the foundations of it and the principles without being, like, told, like, you have to believe this or, like, this is better than this. Like, there's an education on religion. that I do think is important. And I don't know if you ever, like, in your schooling, took a course on, like, say, Buddhism or Hinduism or, you know, religions of the world.
Starting point is 00:36:37 But, like, some of them are extremely interesting, different. And they have defined a lot of different cultures, right? Well, in England, we did religious class in our equivalent of high school, which is secondary school, is quite a big part of it. Yeah. You know, people often do it for their GCSEs, which is the exam. you take when you finish that. Yeah. You do a religious one.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Did you say that was required? It is at first. You don't have to take that GCSE at the end if you don't want to. I think like the first maybe three years, you'll take a religious class as just part of the curriculum. And of course, they go over all different religion, the history of it, you know. A lot of it's like focused on the history of Christianity and then the split and then the different sex that came out of it and obviously the church of England and Henry VIII and they go over all of this. Yeah. And you know, it's useful. It gives you, it gives you like a really good understanding of
Starting point is 00:37:40 different cultures and different people and and puts kind of religion into perspective because you're like, oh, they, wait, the Hindus have like thousands of gods and, you know, it's just like, you wouldn't know about it otherwise. People aren't just. People aren't just. It's not like you would learn at any other place. And I think exposure to that's really important. I think that on a fundamental level, you know, and you're following like the policies of that we've always governed American and public schools on. There's a separation of public schools and religion.
Starting point is 00:38:13 And by having the Ten Commandments, whether they were a foundational part of the country being founded or not, having them like hosted, like that there are governance of how you act or how you act or how you live, you know, he's like, I wish, I think there's at least eight of the Ten Commandments, everyone should agree with or everyone should live by. It's like, well, that's an opinion. That's not a fact. That's not been decided. And there's like actually rules that say, like, you can't push that on people. You can't push that on children in public schools. And so that's a really tricky thing. And I wish that Joe had pushed a little bit harder on this topic. I mean, he lives in Texas. And, you know, my knowledge of public schools in Texas and,
Starting point is 00:38:53 well, public schools in general, there's a lot of very very. variance between counties. So certain counties can, like, have different types of opportunities for students and different regulatory things going on. Like, for instance, my cousin's a teacher at a school in Texas. And there's a lot of Muslim students in this school, just in the area. And so that school district has, like, 2 p.m. prayer time. And so the students, that opt in, leave class, and there's a break, and they go and they do their prayers. It's not disruptive to those children or to really the other children, but it is like a part of their day that they've built in. But like other students don't have that, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:39:43 So like I don't know that that's like a good or a bad thing. It's just like is a thing. And it's sort of like a nature of the beast where it's like when you have this melting pot of school of diverse religions and cultures, in an area, things do have to sort of be adapted, but no one is required to go to prayer time, right? No one is required to learn about Muslim religion in this school. But if you are and you choose to opt in, you have the opportunity. And so I think there's like a fine line between like it being mandatory to learn the Ten Commandments and then like having an opportunity to learn about the 10 commandments in schools and how it built the foundations of America and how there's like governments
Starting point is 00:40:21 were built through Christianity and, you know, world cultures and, you know, all the other things. So I'm very passionate about that. And I think you could talk about it forever. I could talk about it forever. Yeah, I think the big takeaway, and it's something that Joe hit on. And I, I not thought about it until he said it. He said, to me, it seems like this would put, this would make people more frustrated with Christianity or maybe their own religion of Christianity. if they are that, if it is put in schools in kind of that forced way, because it would just create animosity, make the other groups that are either not religious, you know, agnostics, atheists, or just other religions feel like they're not as important. And it could create frustration in that direction. Well, you can see kids are cruel, right? Like we know this.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Kids, they don't have a full filter. filter and fully developed sense of like right and wrong and how to treat people even in like secondary school like high school ages so like okay this is required you know I imagine it's required everyone has to say the Ten Commandments and there's 60% of the student body 50% that's like my parents say this is bad and this is the blah blah blah and so like that's influencing the students on a level that like their parents wouldn't agree with their parents don't want other students to tell their child that the Ten Commandments are wrong and the other students shouldn't really have to be be thinking about that in school. So, like, all in all, it's like, there's just not really a place for it. Like, it's just the wrong time and place for it to be mandated and to be, like, a part of education because it should be something that's, like, kept in, like, your private life outside of public education. Look, you can, the kids that want to pray before they eat at school can do that. I'm sure you can have Bible studies set up at schools if people put groups together and maybe there's classes for it. Also, parents can take their kids to church.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Yeah. You know, on Sunday and they can volunteer or be a part of that environment in other days of the week. So it's not like there's not enough access to religion if that's really important to you. Yeah, I mean, students, you know, families even have as much freedom as to say, you know, I file a religious exemption to where my child doesn't have to be vaccinated to go to public school, which is like a standard rule to go to public school. Like, it's not saying that there's, like, disrespect over, like, religious beliefs and, like, cultural importances and, like, things, nuances that have to do with, like, individuals, like, things that are important and individual or their family. But, like, having something mandated for, like, the masses, it really, it doesn't even just, like, blur that line. It, like, completely obliterates it.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Yeah, I think he had a well-practiced answer to support the people that believe. believe that this is a good idea. Yeah. And he didn't want to offend them. He listened to Joe, though. I think he listened to Joe's side of it and just kind of gave his point. He's like, this is, but this is how I see it. Yeah. And, you know, didn't put like a big exclamation point on it either. And, you know, look, at the end of the day, it was reasonable. Yeah. Right. It's not like it ever gets crazy on Joe's show. He pushes back sometimes hard with people, but not at this level. I think once people get kind of vice president level, billionaire level, he's not causing big fights on his show about it, for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:02 Last up, I want to finish with some speculation of him running for 2028. Yeah. Clearly that's going to happen. I don't know who else. He's going to be in the runnings. I don't know who else is going to jump in and, you know, the primary. primaries will show, but he didn't commit to anything. We're a few years away from that.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Yeah. But yeah, he did not want to, Joe kind of tease them about it. He didn't really commit. And I'm a little bit surprised. Are you? Yeah, because they sometimes kind of start that energy pretty early, or at least a bit of the rumor for it. I don't, yeah, I don't disagree that, like, that's typical.
Starting point is 00:44:46 I think I'm not surprised because he's on a book tour. So he's trying to promote his book. He's a one thing at a time. He's on a one. His media team is like, don't talk about it until the book sales peak and start to dwindle. And then you can talk about that. Yeah. So I.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Then sell some more books. And then, yeah. And then, you know, and then that's when you start fundraising, right? So I'm not surprised. It's two years out. I would say when you get closer to like 18 months. So he's going to push this book for like the next six months, try to establish himself as like some like new identity. of like, I'm a rider, but then also, like, then he's going to be a strong candidate when he runs.
Starting point is 00:45:26 I think so. I mean, this podcast kind of show, it's not like there were gotcha questions here, but he handles questions well. Yeah. He doesn't seem to trap himself. He can even defend ideas that are a little washy and do it in a way to where he doesn't look like he got stumped or he's an idiot. Yeah. And I think that's going to go a long way. It's probably going to be him against Newsom, I would imagine.
Starting point is 00:45:54 And that's going to be wild. Yeah, they did talk about Newsom a little bit on here. I think, yeah, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. And I don't disagree that it's coming. But I'm not surprised that he didn't announce it. Yeah. Or imply it. Well, there's that one.
Starting point is 00:46:11 I mean, to rate this one, I don't even know where to go. If you look at the reviews, I mean, the comments online, people were not happy. just with the fact that J.D. was on. I mean, I saw very few. I saw a few that were like, hell yeah, he rules or something. Yeah. Or, you know, solid conversation. But overall, people were pretty upset with the fact that J.D. went on.
Starting point is 00:46:37 And I was genuinely disappointed having reviewed him when he came on pre-election. It's a difference in the dynamic. I was, I was just disappointed with the, like, quality of the podcast. overall if I'm not if I'm being honest like uh so yeah I'm maybe in a different boat but similar thumbs down yeah position well there you go that's this review for this week and actually stay tuned we're going to do the missed a beast one anyway because that was pretty interesting uh we'll talk to you guys next time thanks a lot
