See you. Hi, this is Victoria. Thank you so much for downloading this podcast. I believe God has
amazing things in your future. I hope you enjoy this message. Hebrews 313 says to encourage one another
daily. Have you encouraged anyone today? You have to make it a habit of encouraging people.
The Bible says encourage one another daily. Now, you know, it is great to receive.
receive general encouragement. It's great when someone says, I like your outfit. Oh, dinner last
night was amazing. That homemade salsa you make, there's nothing like it. See, it's great and
uplifting to be encouraged generally. And I think every one of us need to really think about that
and encourage people in general. But can I tell you, I believe, when we make a spirit,
spiritual deposit in someone's life, a spiritual encouragement that it not only takes their life to a
whole new level, but it takes our life to a whole new level. You see, we need to get good at spurring
one another on. When we love one another and encourage one another with the sincere love of God,
You know what we're doing? We're allowing God to extend his grace through us. You see, when we realize that God can use us, that he will extend his grace through us, and we say, God, I want to be that person, I want you to use me, that's when you'll take a whole new perspective and how you're encouraging people. And like I said, I want to be encouraged generally, but I also want someone to be.
make a deep spiritual deposit into my life. You know, my mother is a great encourager,
and she taught my brother and I to really make deposits in people's life, to go out of our
way to find out what they need and give it to them. That's the way I was taught. And I can tell
you this right now. When I think back over my life, I can tell you the best part of my life
was a fact that I can encourage other people.
That's been the very best part of my life.
And I believe today I am standing in some blessings that have come to me
because I was taught to encourage.
Because it was something that someone taught me to do
and I was able to pass on to others.
Now, some of you may be sitting in this auditorium
are watching online and you say I was never encouraged.
no one ever taught me to encourage. And you may find it more difficult. But God says to encourage each other
daily. That tells me right there that God has put a heart of an encourager in each one of us.
Every one of us can develop into a great encourager. It may just take a little practice.
The way to get good at anything is to practice. You want to be a great encourager. You want to be a great encourager. You're
to play the piano, you better practice. You want to learn in the foreign language, you better practice.
Whatever it is that you want to get good at, you've got to give it time. You've got to give it
effort and you've got to think about it. And I'm here to tell you right now that if you want
your life to go to another level, be an encourager. Be someone who is sincere to find out what
people need and to give it to them, to make spiritual deposits in their life. You know, one of the
best places that you can begin to encourage is in your own home. That is one of the greatest
places to start in your own home. If you make your home an environment of encouragement,
I believe that you'll see the peace and the blessings dwell in your home like you've never
ever expected. If husbands and wife would intentionally encourage one another, I believe that you'd see
your family, your entire family, go to a whole new level. But we must be intentional, purposeful,
and sincere with our encouragement. Before Joel was ever pastor of Lakewood Church, I would encourage
him. I would study him. I would see what he was good at. I would tell him, man, Joel, you're
amazing at this. I love when you do that. Thank you for being the spiritual leader of this house.
I remember reading in my Bible, and I would find a scripture that would just remind me of
Joel, and I would write it down, and I'd put it by the bathroom in his sink, the sink in his
bathroom, or I'd put it somewhere where I knew he was going to be in the kitchen. I remember one
scripture I'd give him all the time, because God just illuminated to me to give him this scripture.
He said, you will serve before nobles, not before obscure men. I didn't even know at that time
what this was going to mean to his life or to mine. But he has told me since that Victoria,
the encouragement that you've given me, the fact that you believed in me, has brought a tremendous
confidence in my life, caused me to really persevere and believe in myself. You see, when the one
that's closest to you encourages you, it's the words that mean the most. Because if you can
encourage the one closest to you, then that person knows that you must reach. You must,
really mean it. Because oftentimes, we don't give the people closest to us what they really need.
We come to this place that we think, you already know what I think about you. And we neglect
those words that are so sweet to the soul. It's refreshing to the soul when someone makes a spiritual
deposit in your life. The other day, Joel was on our back porch, and he was looking through his
phone and I came out and I said, hey, what you doing? He said, well, you know what I'm doing?
I'm just going through all my contacts. And he said, I like to do that sometime. He says, and then I
ask God to just kind of show me who I can encourage. Just kind of illuminate someone that I can send a
text to or an email or even pick up the phone if I really feel led and just give them some
encouragement. You see, Joel makes a daily habit, a daily practice out of encouraging other people.
See, there are so many ways to encourage people.
Like I said, there's the general encouragement, which we should all get good at.
It's the niceties of life.
It's the special things.
But then there are those things where you ask God, God, help me extend your grace to someone.
Show me someone today.
You know, maybe some of you need to just mark in your calendar daily, a reminder that says,
need to encourage someone today and go after that someone. Find that someone that God brings to your heart
and to your mind. You know, this passage in Hebrews 313, when it was written, it said,
encourage one another daily while it is still called today. That sounds to me like the writer was
impressing on us that today is the day to encourage. Don't let today go by until you have found
someone to encourage. But as that passage goes on, do you know what else it says? It says so that
people will not have their hearts hardened by sins deceitfulness, so that people won't have their
hearts hardened by sins deceitfulness. You see, some people don't know what you
think unless you say it. People can't read your mind. They can only read your words. It was talking in
that scripture. Also, it referred to the people that Moses led out of the wilderness. And it talked
about how they didn't share their faith. They didn't make spiritual deposits in each other's lives.
That's why they murmured and they complained. That's why collectively,
they didn't get to where they were supposed to be.
Because instead of coming in and spurring one another on, lifting each other up,
saying, hey, while Moses is up on the mountain, we're not going to do that.
You know what?
God has done so much for us.
And instead of sharing their faith, instead of spurring one another on in the faith,
showing each other what they've seen in each other.
Hey, man, I see God in you.
I know you can do this.
You know what they did?
they allowed themselves to be deceived because they didn't extend the grace of God to one another.
And the Bible clearly says we must make spiritual deposits in each other's life so that sin doesn't
deceive us so that we don't get the wrong idea.
I love that because that tells me right there that you and I can have a whole new life if we will begin to be.
these depositors of encouragement to reflect and extend the glory of God. Listen, God works where there
is pliable and flexible hearts. Some people think if they give someone else an encouraging word,
if they put someone else on their feet, maybe there won't be enough for them. Maybe someone will
get ahead of them. But can I tell you this today? We don't serve a limited God. We serve. We
serve a limitless God. And if you will get used to turn it on the fountain, you will see that the
spring of water will never run dry. You will make room for God to fill you to those places of
abundance and overflowing. Have you ever encouraged someone? You walked away and you feel like you've
just been encouraged yourself? That's the way our God is. He wants to fill you with joy and peace
unspeakable and full of glory. He's not looking for you to look for man to encourage you. He's looking
for you to know that when you encourage, then you've got a pipeline to him. And it doesn't matter who
encourages you. The one that counts is doing all the encouraging. That's the kind of life that we can
live when we make deposits of faith. Can I tell you, make it a daily practice, work on it.
you have an encourager's heart.
Turn on that fountain and let it flow.
And I believe you'll find that the blessings of God
will chase you down and overtake you.
Amen.
Amen.
