Starting point is 00:00:00 Now, my daughters, they're pretty good at, you know, taking public transport and doing stuff independently, taking Uber's and stuff like that. But when you're away in another place, obviously that's where, you know, as a parent, even with teenagers, you're trying to make sure everyone goes in the right direction. I don't even know where, you know, whenever you go away, out of your hometown, really throws you. You're right. Even as an adult. And we were last week, you know, we were on holiday.
Starting point is 00:00:22 We ended up spending a few days in Sydney. And, you know, taking a lot of public transport, taking light rail, taking trams and stuff. and it was a lot of compensations. What is light rail? The light rail is kind of more like, is it the same as normal rail? Yeah, what is lighter? Better for you.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Ozambic rail. Yeah, less carbs and things like that. Yeah, so we're doing that around. It's cheap over there. Like, well, Gold Coast, like 50 cents a tram ride and a dollar in Sydney and stuff to take, you know, like it's, you know, you just tap on with your phones and away you go.
Starting point is 00:00:51 So easy. It makes it really easy to get around. Dollar 50 a liter for 95 in Brisbane too. Yeah, so it's like, yeah. It's an affordable place. Is it? Anyway, we're not here saying how good Australia is. One of the big bug bears where my family going away and you'll get this when your kids get a bit older, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:09 because they've got our old phones and stuff and they've got their phones in New Zealand, that's fine. We go overseas and it's like, well, there's daily roaming. And I'm like, I'm not paying for four daily roaming, but you see photos of your tongue, your friends on Snapchat and stuff. You can hold those tongue photos and distribute them in your land map. Or you can get on the Wi-Fi and stuff. The rule is find Wi-Fi.
Starting point is 00:01:28 But you can go stay there. outside the McDonald's. A hot spot on our thing for tons from. But that would annoy me as well because it's chew up all my phone battery. So I kept kicking him off my hot spot. So did you have roaming? Yeah, I'd roaming. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:40 I was like, and I was in charge of like where we're going, navigating. And so I needed my roaming. We're not paying for their robbing, but this is a big bug there as well. So we were getting around. I was about 10, 10.30 at night. We're trying to go back to where we were staying and we're like, we're going to take the light round. We're going to get on the light row.
Starting point is 00:01:54 We hadn't taken that back to the, to our hotel location until that moment. but I'm like, sweet. And we could see the sort of the train tram up ahead and like, that's the one guys, that's go. And so we all ran as a family, the four of us, tapped on outside with our phones. And then my daughter, Sienna, first in, and the only one in, the door's just shut. And I actually got my arm in and I could see the guy and I was sort of waving, go, but mate, mate. But no.
Starting point is 00:02:18 He's not on light rail, mate. He's not sobbing. And then I just saw the doors close and my daughter Sienna just sort of looking at me. She's like, if I had five days. This would have been a problem. All right, that's all I was, I was like, turn your daughter, roaming on. She's like, oh, now I can.
Starting point is 00:02:38 That was all my wife was like, the first thing you were going, I was like, data roaming, turn it on. Turn your daughter, it's going to be very expensive, but I love you. But you can do it now this once. I don't know if she heard it as well, yeah. So what happened? Well, we were like, well, we were like, well, let's go to the next.
Starting point is 00:02:57 So my wife and I and my other daughter, Andy, we're like, we'll go fast to the next train station and hopefully we'll just sit her there. We'll like, we'll try and run to the next one. Did you outrun a train? No. Like, I could have told you that when you came up with the idea to run. You're definitely not Liam Mason.
Starting point is 00:03:13 You have a particular set of skills. To her credit, she got off at the next stop, and then she was walking back towards us. Oh, that was good. Oh, so she's smart. She had her daughter roaming on too. That was another win for me. I'm like, yes.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Got my kid back and save money You said I could I shouldn't actually hear that But there you go So yeah But $8 each for Dada Romeo I'm looking for that daily Daily
Starting point is 00:03:37 Daily
